The LG refrigerator is one of the best refrigerators I have ever owned. Keeps everything cold and fresh. Even when the power went out because of hurricane; food lasted overnight till we could get gen. Only problem is the ice maker doesnt work well.

So the LG WM0642H was a highly rated washing machine by Consumer Reports. Well after 5 years it stopped working. I dont think that a highly rated machine should die after 5 years. I am in the process of trying to get it fixed and hopefully will be able to do so. I dont plan on buying anymore LG appliances and more.

My LG refrigerator model LRFC21755 continuously has ice build up at the bottom of the freezer. LG says to defrost the freezer but this fix only lasts for about a month. You shouldnt have to defrost your freezer every month. LG has not been much of a help in resolving the problem.

I have an LG LFX21960ST French door bottom freezer refrigerator that I paid a pretty penny for in July 2007. I had it a couple of months and had to replace the ice maker which was under warranty. However, it cost me $60 to find out it was broken and another $125 to have it installed. In December 2010, I had to replace the compressor - it was under warranty so it only cost me $70 to find this out and another $400 to have it installed. Well, now we are up to $655 so far. Fridge now making clicking sounds and there is occasional thawing in freezer. Repairman left yesterday, charged me $70 to tell me I need another compressor - now five months out of warranty and this will cost me $770 for part/installation. Now we are up to $1,495 for my cost of repairs. I called LG since this - counting the original - means this $2,300 fridge has had THREE compressors. I talked to LG about seeing if I could be afforded an extension on warranty since I wondered if this fridge could be a LEMON. They said no even though it was only five months past warranty. This has been a terrible inconvenience. Putting food in coolers outside, not to mention the almost $1500 it has cost me out of pocket for repairs. I always thought LG stood by their products and that is the reason I have their TVs, fridge and had their phone, but I might have to do some rethinking in the near future. Went on LG Facebook page and they told me to private message. Did so - no help. LG told me there are options for after warranty and did as they asked and again private messages them to no avail - and NOW LG HAS BLOCKED ME FROM THEIR FACEBOOK PAGE - some customer service!

I bought my kitchen appliances less than 3 years ago, all LG brand, brand new from Home Depot. My dishwasher has given us some issues over the last year and come to find out the electronics are not covered under the 10 year warranty that is plastered on front of the appliance. No big deal, my husband was able to fix it. However, our refrigerator is a different story. It stopped cooling. We called LG. We waited a week for a repairman who was not qualified to fix refrigerators. He stated, I dont fix refrigerators. I work on washers and dryers. But with the help of the tech support he was able to determine it was the compressor. I was instructed to call LG with a case number and they would send out a qualified person to fix the problem. This was on a Friday. I called back late Monday afternoon to check on the progress and told they still havent found anyone to fix the issue. I was denied the privilege to speak with upper management and sent into the queue so long that it kicked me out. I called back 2 more times with the same result. I called back a 4th time and spoke with a different rep. He continues to tell me more of the same stuff. Not one rep was able to give me a time frame that I would have to wait for a service repair man because the truth is they dont have one in my area. He was unable to give me a number to upper management or connect me with someone higher up. He said when they send customers into the queue to be sent to the next level they keep being kicked back to them. So in other words LG does not back their products nor care about their customersThey believe it is acceptable for a product to last less than 3 years and a customer to be without a refrigerator for 2 weeks with no recourse. May I add this is during the quarantine, so I had more food in the fridge than normal and yes I lost a lot of food. But no worries for LG. They are not worried about the customer. Do NOT buy LG products. I have NEVER been so upset or dissatisfied with a product before. I am 44 years old and this is the first BAD product review I have written on any product.

First, I like the fridge. Its attractive and when it works, it works great. However, the sealed refrigerant system, isnt. The week after the 1 year warranty ended, it stopped getting cold. Fine. Repair guy comes and refills refrigerant (didnt both checking for leaks or question how a sealed system lost its refrigerant). As expected, a few months later it dies again. He comes back and refills it, AND finds a leak which he repairs and replaces the compressor. Fast forward another year. Fridge dies again, and the saga with LG Customer support begins. I call. Explain the situation. The nice gentleman takes my info, says hes going to request a warranty extension to cover it. Then I wait. And wait. And wait.I call back two weeks later to inquire as to whats going on. Evidently he had misfiled it, so they had to start over. New guy takes the same info, insists Ill have to pay for repairs, but (after I demanded) said hed put in a request, but that I should get a call back 72 hours later. I give it a week and call back. Person I talk to says its still not decided and should get a call back Thursday (that was a Monday). Another week... I call the following Monday. Its now been over a month since I first called. Im told that my request for warranty coverage was denied, and after I asked, he tells me that it was decided last Thursday. At this point, I become unhinged and unload on the poor call center guy (I feel bad about this part) about how disrespectful it is that they cant be bothered to inform me of the status at ANY point along the way, nor follow up like they say theyre going to, and demanded to know what they were going to do about making this right. He gets his supervisor to override the decision and Im getting coverage finally. Great. They send the work order to a repair place in Los Angeles (Im up near Santa Barbara) and tell me that theyll be there the next day between 8-12. Next day, no show. Maybe I misheard him so I wait another day. No show. So I call back to ask whats going on.Evidently, the appointment was declined. So nice of them to let me know before I took time off work to wait for the guy. Fine... When can I get another one? to which they provide me with a phone number for the repair place (Repair place has 1 star on Yelp with 30 reviews btw, so you know Im expecting greatness... #sarcasm).I call repair place for the appointment, and they tell me the code they have from LG to cover the repair is no good, and Ill need to show the original purchase receipt. I understand having to show the receipt, except that LG knows from our history with them that Im the original owner. Ok fine, Ill dig that out, but what about the authorization code? They dont seem to be able to explain who is supposed to get that squared away. On the plus side, the repair guy did show up for the second appointment and determined that the compressor was shot. Now we have to wait AGAIN for LG to decide whether to replace it or the entire unit. For comparisons sake, heres how this SHOULD have gone down: 1. I call them. Tell them the history (which they already have) and explain the current situation. 2. They apologize profusely for the trouble, and the several fridges full of food Ive lost, and promise to get someone out ASAP. 3. Within 2 days, a repair guy shows up, determines its a similar/related problem. 4. LG offers to replace the entire fridge since this one is a lemon.

We purchased the LG French door refrigerator LFXS29626 in December 2016. After approximately 18 months of use, this virtually new refrigerator, stopped cooling and required a replacement compressor at a cost of $850. The technician doing the repair said that he is seeing many other “new” LGs with same problem. I can’t tell you how dissatisfied we are with this product and I hope there is a recall/reimbursements for the cost of repair. This is wrong!

We purchased all new LG appliances for our new summer home. In our third year of use, our dishwasher began to error out with a 1E code and would shut down. We were able to restart it and it would complete its cycle. That worked for a short time and then it started to error out all of the time. We contacted LG and they told us to contact a repair service. We purchased a new part and that did not work, so LG sent us a new control panel. That did not work. We have taken the machine out and put back in, made sure it was level and it still did not work. We now have an immaculate dishwasher that does not work. Now within the last year, our numbers on our stove clock have been burning out one by one. LG does not stand by their products and had an oh well attitude. We will never purchase another LG product.

I have owned the LG Inverter direct drive washer and dryer for approx 3 years. I have absolutely hated the washer from almost day 1. The dryer works great no problems. The washer on the other hand I cannot stand. My clothes come out dirtier at times then when they go in at times staining clothes, clothes DO NOT come out clearly not clean. White I have to over bleach and sometimes wrecking the clothes and put them on extra long soaking cycle. I cannot express how much I hate this washer. I would rather go to the laundromat except for the convenience. I wish I would of read the reviews before purchasing. Im glad to see Im not the only one with the same problem - I was beginning to think It was me. When I complained to my husband he just looked at me like I was out of my mind. I washed my bedding this week and put the (clean) or was suppose to be clean back on the bed I pointed how disgusting sheets looked worse than before they were washed. Please save yourself the hassle and HEADACHE - DO NOT PURCHASE the LG TOP LOAD WASHER.

$2500 refrigerator lasted 32 months - After our ice maker started squirting water everywhere and freezing up, we were told wed need a whole new door to the tune of $600. While we were waiting for the door to ship, the whole fridge stopped cooling. Everything in the fridge and freezer was ruined. The Geek Squad diagnosed the problem as a sealed system issue, which they are not allowed to work on. Parts, but not labor, are covered by LG, but you have to find your own repairman, and then LG will eventually send them an authorization letter to do the work. We are not willing to spend over $1,000 to fix a $2,500 fridge, when the repairs are not even guaranteed. LG has not responded to my email, and Ive just read many other reviews by people who got tired of waiting for satisfaction from LG, cut their losses, and bought another (not LG) refrigerator. LG knows people cant live that long without refrigeration, so they just stall until people give up. LG BUYER BEWARE!

Lrg3095st. Have almost all our appliances, washer/dryer and TVs LG and they have been very high quality and very reliable. However this range has been a exception. Had several service call for melting knobs and temperature control and latch adjustment. Now it is a little over 5 years old, the front oven door is starting to rust through. LG says this is pretty much normal and they will not make good for their problem so I suggest that you stay away from their stainless steel ranges until they fix their manufacturing problems.

I have an LG refrigerator that has a sealed system problem, and still within the 7 years warranty. I had both Sears and LG serviceman telling me its not repairable. I just got a call from LG that they will prorate and give me $333. Thats nonsense. The user guide says, Your LG refrigerator will be repaired or replaced at LGs option... It doesnt tell me anywhere in here that it will be prorated and I get less money than what I paid Sears ($294.24) and LG ($89.00) for determining the issue. I had Sears to checkout the refrigerator and 3 trips, they determined the leak is from the cabinet. They said I have to go to LG. I called LG and they said they wont take Sears word and documentation, and I have to get an LG repairman to come and look at it. The LG guy showed up and told me yep, thats it. Not repairable and should be replaced by LG. LG called me today and they are going to give me less than what I paid to tell them the sealed system that has 7-year warranty is bad. Do not buy LG if thats how they stand behind their warranty.

I purchased this from Sears. Its made by LG for Sears. Its a side-by-side since it was the only refrigerator that would fit within the dimensions of the opening of our cabinets. It was only a few months after purchasing that I found my kitchen floor flooded with water. The ice maker water feed line was installed by Sears. There was a defect in the refrigerator that caused the ice maker to freeze and blow water out of the water line from the back of the refrigerator causing flooding. I have a wood floor in the kitchen and the wood became warped and lifted both under and in front of the refrigerator. Sears came to repair and the repairman caused a short circuit in the electronics board and the whole refrigerator went dark. We had to wait for that part to be ordered. So we had no refrigerator for days and a wood floor that was destroyed. To make a long story short, the correct part was installed and the refrigerator in working condition again but it took weeks and a lot of documentation and correspondence between myself, Sears and the LG headquarters in order to determine who was at fault and who would be responsible for replacement of the floor. It was a very frustrating and maddening time. One other thing about the LG refrigerator, I noticed a few months ago that the paint on the handles is peeling off and soft. Theres a lot peeled already and a lot with long scratches from fingernails reaching for the handle. I dont know how to fix it to make it look less ugly and dont want to have to deal with either Sears or LG over this.

I purchased a French door stainless steel unit, Model number LFX31925ST. The compressor stopped working. I contacted LG, we went through a series of diagnostics, and the LG technical support folks confirmed that the compressor was the likely culprit, and that the compressor was under warranty. The first two service providers provided by LG would not service my unit. I called back. I got another LG recommended provider who did come out and perform a diagnostic, confirming not only had the compressor failed, but that the heat during the failure melted the internal coils, rendering the unit in their opinion non-repairable. This report was sent to LG tech support. LG tech support then claimed that they needed more info from their recommended technical service, requiring that I pay them again, to come out, disassemble the unit, take pictures, and concurrently be on the phone with LG Electronics. All this was done, with a promise from LG that this would get reviewed by their technical managers and that I would hear back by the close of business. Hearing nothing back, I contacted LG again the following morning (10/3/2018) and was advised by LG that they had not received the pictures so they were still waiting. Since I was standing by the vendor when he sent the pictures, and the LG tech support person was still on the phone at the time, this claim was dubious at best. I have now been without a refrigerator since 09/19, with no known resolution path. I am a Sr. VP of Operations & Quality, and this is the worst customer service experience I have encountered from a major corporation in my lifetime. If they are not going to honor their warranty, they should have the decency to say so, so I can shop for a replacement.

Updated on 05/18/2020: In a previous post, I reported my washer disaster. A week ago, I heard from LG (Louis) indicating they would provide a new washer in 5-7 days and was asked for proof of purchase etc. I provided that info. Since that time, no contact from LG and they never provided me with contact information. So I sit waiting for them to contact me or reply once again through Consumer Affairs. LG, if you are reading this, please contact me.Original review: After 7 years of mostly uneventful washing experience, my machine suddenly blew apart. My machine was running through a spin cycle and suddenly, there were loud crashing and banging noises, the machine flew across the floor approximately 2 1/2 - 3 feet and the door blew open. The tub appears to have come loose, smashed into the front and sides of the machine. The front of the machine has large protruding dents, the side handles were blown out and the side dented, and small parts flew out. The door wont even close because of the large protruding dents. Thank goodness that we were not in the laundry room as we would have sustained injuries for sure. I am aghast at the force and danger that this machine caused.

My beautiful LG stainless steel, 3 door refrigerator failed May 1st 2016. It was purchased on 9/13/2013 from HHGregg and we purchased the 5-year extended warranty. To make a long story short, we have been totally without refrigeration for over 2 months. I have called LG more times than you can imagine as well as HHGREGG. They have sent out 2 different LG authorized servicemen, both of whom agreed that the compressor had totally failed as well as the motherboard. HHGregg indicates it is not their problem since the compressor is warrantied by LG so extended warranty doesnt apply, and LG blames their authorized service people saying most recently that service center apparently ordered compressor from another distributor. (Wonder why??) I have given one-star review only because I could not give a negative. In the developed world a refrigerator is a necessity, not a luxury. But despite have given $3360.61 for this unit, less than 3 years ago, and having purchased a 5-year extended warranty, my family has been living for 9 weeks without refrigeration, and little assistance from any of the involved parties. When the LG # answers and sweetly says LIVING GOOD I want to vomit... or maybe it is something I ate!

Unit still looks brand new after 4 years of use and not the first problem with units. I had nice shirts that were stained with grease. Previous unit did not remove those stains so used shirts for the lawn. Used the sanitary cycle on the LG washer with no change in detergents and stains were removed. I am assuming this is due to the LG heating up the water that dissolve the grease.

Do NOT buy a LG fridge nor use Southland Technical for after service. LG has their own service techs but they are not qualified to do compressor work. So they contract out. Last hot summer, I was given the run around by LG for over 2 weeks to get someone to come see my broken down $3,000 fridge. They keep telling me how busy they are and finally they gave me Southland’s phone number to call. Southland came out, and $1,000+ later, I get my new compressor. Almost exactly 105 days later, the compressor broke down again!!! The service guy who came out in January told me this is the SECOND incident in last 2 days he has seen!!! It took almost 2 months for Southland to get back to me to confirm indeed the compressor had broken down again and due to some BS story, the fridge can no longer be fixed and they will have LG call me. 2 weeks on, LG called to tell me I am SOL because LG did not initiate the call to Southland and therefore LG is not responsible. LG offered me a $100 credit for my next LG fridge, REALLY!! I am suspicious it was a collision between Southland and LG to get me to buy a new fridge. Really Southland, you took $1,000 of my money, replaced the compressor. (Assume they did or perhaps an after-market no name???) And to tell me 105 days is outside the 90 day warranty period. Hands up out there if anyone knows a compressor to last only 105 days. (Yes, days, not months!!) Needless to say, never use Southland and never buy any LG products... Look around, less and less dealers are selling LG, only Costco because they do not have a service department so LG is a convenient partner for a lousy brand!!

LG Refrigerator LSXS22423S. Purchased LG Products for entire kitchen on 5/11/19. On May 18, 2016 LG refrigerator completely failed. I had purchased a 5 year extended warranty on all LG products. I called LG service and was scheduled for a tech appointment on 5/20/19. No one showed up. Called LG service dept, again was scheduled for 5/24/19. No one showed up. Was scheduled again for 5/28/19. No one showed up. Called LG service again, was told refrigerator was not covered with the extended warranty, but was covered under the manufacturing ten year warranty. They said I probably needed a compressor replaced. Now I am scheduled for a tech appointment 6/3/19. I am very dissatisfied with service, appointment failures, and performance of the refrigerator.

I called LG customer service 4 time on yesterday total use about 3 hours. They said they will sent someone to check the ref and I called at 6pm to double check and make sure the appt has set, they told me the appt was confirmed. Then I take a day off wait for it. Today, no one show up. I called LG customer service again, they told me no one set up any appt for me on yesterday and they set up another appt on next Tuesday. I have to take another day off, wait for that. And same issue has repair 3 time, still has problem. DO NOT BUY ANY LG PRODUCTS. THEIR WARRANTIES ARE JUNK. My wife and I spent a long time researching what kind of washing machine we should get. My wifes parents had an LG front loader and loved it. We decided to buy one based on their recommendation and the number of positive reviews left on a local appliance outlet. We have had it for almost a year now, and have never had any problems. It removes dirt and stains from our clothes so much better than our previous washer. I would definitely recommend an LG front loader to anyone in the market.

I have a 2-year-old LG Dryer. Not long after I bought it, it started catching clothing articles on the dryer filter at the front of the door. My clothes are getting ruined. The dryer will twist all the clothes together and the piece of clothing that gets caught, will stretch out or rip. I have already replaced a filter that cost $30, thinking it was a defective filter (not warranted). I know LG is aware of the problem, because when I called the manufacturer, the salesman admitted that people were having that problem. I want a refund. I will have to buy a new dryer. By the way, one of the bars inside the drum fell off. Now, I will have to call a repair man, stay at home all day to wait for him to come look at it, order a part and then when it comes in, I will have to stay home all day to wait for him to come back and fix it. I am so sick of spending my energy on this dryer.

We remodeled our house a little over two years ago, and my wife bought new LG appliances for the kitchen including a dishwasher, electric cook top range, microwave and refrigerator. I like the fact that when you get water out of the refrigerator door, it comes out fast. When it went out, it took almost two weeks to get done, and that’s the only complaint I have. We’re retired and we can’t afford to go out every meal, so we lived out of coolers and one small hundred-dollar refrigerator for a month. When the repairman brought the compressor in, he informed us that he puts a lot of compressors into LGs. In fact, he finished up with us at 8:00 in the evening he was here, and he went on to do another one before he went home.

We purchased an LG high-efficiency washer several years ago and have had the same problems described by others. The washing machine smells of mildew often and I tried to control it by running empty cycles with bleach and also empty baking soda loads. The baking soda sometimes does not completely come out of the detergent drawer and we then have to do another rinse cycle. Another problem is it stains on our clothes. They appear randomly and we are unable to remove them. It has been very expensive and time-consuming to run extra empty loads to try and keep the washer clean, get rid of the smell and hopefully get rid of whatever is causing the stains. The biggest expense for us has been the ruined clothes. This is a never-ending problem and the only solution is purchasing a new washer that works properly! This LG has been an incredible money pit and disappointment!

In May of 2009, I renovated my kitchen and bought two new appliances - an over the range microwave and a dishwasher, both LG products.Last week, on February 8, 2012, the microwave stopped heating. I called the company and after describing what happened was told that the magnetron went out. Since this is my second home, this microwave hasnt been used more than 100 times from the date of installation and I felt they should take responsibility for the repairs. I was told that the magnetron is covered but the labor is not. Then they told me to call a certain company to have it fixed. The service company said that they will order the part and when the part arrives, they will call me to have it installed. They refused to give me an estimate for the cost of labor. Eventually, after several calls, I was told it is around $220! At this point, I sent two emails to the LG company and as of today, February 15, 2012 got no reply. My other appliance, the LDF9810ST dishwasher, simply does not wash. I wash everything before putting it in and, again I wash and dry some dishes after the 3-hour cycle is done. Also, the plastic baskets are falling down or do not slide back. It is the worst dishwasher I have ever came across. When I told them about this problem I was told, Oops! You bought a floor model, and because of it ,we cant help you at all!At this point, I am angry, and I feel used and abused by a company that makes such bad products and cares so little for the customers. What a self-centered motto on their website, Life is Good! Whos life?I will never buy another LG product again and I will advise all my family, relatives and friends to not buy LG products either.

It has the spill proof shelves when there is a spill its so easy to clean up. Its quiet when running as we have an open concept room so that doesnt interfere. We purchased the LG Bottom Freezer Refrigerator Model #LFX25960ST in May of 2007. 1st issue was the Product Consumer Energy Rating. The Energy Rating LG gave was less than the average energy the fridge used. I receive a check from LG (I think) every quarter to make up the difference in energy used (around $4.00). Next came the ice maker. The ice maker would freeze up and overflow with water or just stopped working all together. The ice dispenser in the door has never crushed Ice the way it should. We had 3 service calls on ice maker issues, 2 of which the ice maker had to be replaced. Still does not crust ice the way it should. I just gave up trying to get it fixed. Then I noticed that the hard wood floors in front of the fridge were starting to warp. Ceiling tiles in basement showed where water had leaked from kitchen above. We pulled down the tiles but were unable to find a leak. We pulled out the fridge and saw where water had wet the sheetrock and floor behind the fridge. Thinking there was a leak in the plumbing behind the fridge we ripped out the sheetrock, finding nothing. We then decided to leave the fridge pulled out to try and determine where the water was coming from. About 30 minutes later, I returned to the kitchen and noticed that water was spewed to the right side of the fridge and all across the dining area, approx. 15. We turned off the water going to the fridge and contacted LG. 2 days later a repairman came in an immediately noticed the warped flooring. He the checked the ice maker and the fridge and found nothing. He turned the water back on and asked me to dispense water from the water/ice dispenser. When I pushed the water dispenser, water, again, shot out all across the kitchen and dining room. The repairman was then able to show us where the line coming from the valve on the fridge to the filter had split. He stated the line was faulty and would have to be replaced. 2 weeks later the repairman returned and replaced the faulty line. LG did pay for fridge repairs and repairs to my floor but nothing for the downtime or aggravation we endured. Then we had issues with the interior light in the fridge. It would stay on even when the fridge was closed. Again we contacted LG for repair. Now after having this fridge for only 7 years, the entire cooling system, fridge and freezer, has gone out, resulting in ruined and sour food. We contacted LG again. My husband spoke with the lady from LG. At one point in the conversation, he told the lady, Im sorry, I know this isnt your fault, but Im very aggravated right now dealing again with this Lemon of a refrigerator. The LG Supervisor then told him I understand your aggravation, but you are just going to get even more aggravated when you hear what I have to say. I cannot help you because the refrigerator is out of warranty. WHAT??? Who says that??? Where is the customer service??? So now Im stuck paying an $85.00 service call plus replacement parts and labor to fix ANOTHER issue with this LG Refrigerator. I am so done with anything LG.

We purchased the LG1443KDS at the end of 2011. The machine vibrated so badly it would travel the length of the utility floor and destroyed the large rubber drum seal. The repair technician advised the retailer to replace the machine, that was subsequently done. The replacement washing machine has displayed the same characteristics on a number of occasions other than destroying the drum seal. The noise from this appliance is on a par to pneumatic drill being used indoors, and could quite easily injure a small child or animal when the violent motions take place, lifting it clear of where it is situated. We also contacted LG directly regarding our concerns, but were merely brushed off. Absolutely no interest in their customers or appliance aftercare. This washing machine was extremely expensive, but is the worst appliance we have ever owned. I purchased the machine about 6 years ago. For the last few years, rust has accumulated around the outside of the bleach dispenser (i.e., the area where you pour the bleach in to be dispensed later during the wash cycle). It is getting worse and covers a larger area as time goes on. According to the LG customer service, the cause is spilled bleach around the dispenser area and furthermore, they say, this is merely cosmetic and does not affect the function of the washing machine. I disagree.First, as noted, the area is growing. Second, there are stains on clothing after washing that are hard to explain any way other than something to do with the rust on the body of the machine. Finally, I do not believe it has anything to do with spilled bleach because there is a spout in the back of the machine that delivers rinse water and that spout is also rusting. It would be necessary for me to purposefully pour bleach over this spout, or wipe it on, in order to for bleach to cause the rust in that location. Like some other reviewers, I have had a few problems with a UE error message, but it usually works out. This could be because I do wash rather small loads and I tend to use the bulky bedding setting, even for small loads, to get enough water to thoroughly wash and rinse the clothes.Overall I am very disappointed with the LG and would prefer an agitator type machine in order to not use so much water for small loads. Thats what I will be looking for to replace this one - since spending even $300 for a technician to come and look at it seems excessive. I should add that three years ago I purchased another LG machine for a different location; at that time there was no rust on my home washer. The newer machine has been used rarely because it is in a vacation house. Nonetheless, after approximately 100 uses, the circuit board quit and the machine is dead. Naturally it is out of warranty, so getting rid of it seems the only sensible solution.

After having a house fire and needing all new appliances, we decided to go with an LG 4 piece kitchen appliance package from Home Depot for nearly $3,000. Within 5 years (right after the extended warranty we purchased had expired) the dishwasher stopped draining. We ate the cost of that and got rid of it and purchased one from a competitor. We have also had problems with our oven, sometimes it will go through periods where it wont turn on, then its fine the next day. Again, we are just dealing with that at this point since we cant afford to purchase a new one right now. Finally, we are now dealing with our refrigerator. At $1600 our refrigerator has stopped working due to a bad compressor at less than 8 years old. There is only one technician in our area that LG will let repair this, and while the part is still covered by the manufacturer warranty, the labor is going to be between $500 and $700. This is ridiculous! We had so many options when choosing our appliances and we put our trust and money into LG. We have been living out of a mini fridge for two weeks because we dont have the money to make this repair. We purchased an LG refrigerator with bottom double freezer and french doors
We purchased an LG refrigerator with bottom double freezer and french doors in 2011. Four years in - we had trouble with the food thawing in the freezer and ice maker stopped working. A repairman through LG came out and did a repair and fixed it. As soon as the warranty was up (Jan 2016) it happened again. We were given a choice - pay $294.50 for a 1x visit and 60 days coverage of the same issue or $444.05 for 1 year warranty for any problem.Since we figured this was a big problem, we went with the $444. The repairman came again and flushed the system - started working again. 5 months later the same thing happened - he replaced the compressor. Still under warranty. Warranty expired in July 2017 - Oct 2017 the same thing happened. LG will not do anything about it because its not under warranty even though its the same problem from the beginning. Now Im faced with a non working refrigerator and a decision of paying a huge amount to get it fixed or moving on from a 6 year old refrigerator. Never will buy LG again.

Susan ** dealt with LG, who said too much time had lapsed since the original warranty expired. She then contacted their sales rep who came back with the same response. Therefore, Warners Stellian will do nothing about the door. I think the second door should have been under warranty because it was a new door. Otherwise, the microwave should be replaced. The plastic construction of the microwave door is defective; its failed twice, both times within 9 months of installation.

After slightly less than 3 years my French Door Refrigerator suddenly could not get cold enough to safely refrigerate the food and safely keep foods frozen. The temperature in the refrigerator box hovered at about 40 and the freezer at around 32. The temperatures would not change even though I increased the coldness setting. A repairman from a reputable repair company and after testing and checking all of the different components he said the compressor was failing. He said that it was a common problem with the LG refrigerator. He said he had several compressor failures in them a year and that nearly all of them were less than 3 years old. The repair cost is more than it is worth. I am just going to buy a new brand. I also tried to contact LGs technicians to confirm the problem. They wanted $30 to discuss this with me since it was out of warranty.

This is the worst appliance purchase I have made. Most loads show as unbalanced to which the washer responds by refilling the tub with water. It is almost impossible to meet the machines balance requirements. The constant refilling makes the machine a little less than high efficiency. The companys position that you need to wash things of similar weight in a load is ridiculous. I would have to wait until every piece of clothing I own needed washing before I could meet that requirement. A typical load takes 2+ hours to complete which includes multiple attempts to rebalance the clothes. I would recommend that you look elsewhere. I cannot fathom why there are so many positive reviews for this giant POS. (Model WT1101CW)

After just 1.5 years, my dishwasher control panel developed a large crack that is preventing it from starting. This is a known problem with LG dishwashers. I was shocked that LG would not authorize a replacement panel. Their view is that this is my problem and I am on my own. I had purchased a suite of appliances and feel they should provide better customer service.

We purchased our first and last LG appliance and 30 days after the one year
We purchased our first and last LG appliance and 30 days after the one year warranty had expired the fridge and freezer totally broke down. The unit was just over a year old, brand new. Well I called LG and because it was over the year they said for a tech to come out to my house would cost a lot of money and only the compressor would be covered and I would have to pay for the tech to come to the house. I contacted Direct Energy and they sent a tech with their program they have. I lost over $1,000 worth of food. I was without a fridge freezer for over 21 days.LG is very selective about their parts who they give them to, but to wait 21 days with 2 small kids and no fridge freezer its crazy. Well finally everything was fixed for 30 days and the fridge freezer broke down again and the ice maker ice melted all over the floor. Once again called a tech, I had just restocked my fridge and freezer again and lost everything. Apparently the rule bet membrane around the freezer is loose, the ice maker has to be replaced and the fridge stopped working. The unit I purchased from LG was over $3,800.00. What a wasted of money LG products are. Do not waste your money or time. We will see if it ever gets fixed.

Like thousands of other LG Refrigerator victims my new LG model LSXS26366S died. I had to throw out over $200.00 worth of fresh food, spent another $1000 on repairs. I called LG speaking to call centers overseas trained to kill you with kindness as they provide no help. Then had to pay a local company to look at it, the technicians said I hate to tell you youre screwed sir, a sealed system failure. Compressor. Then LG on the 4th day arranged a company that showed up in the 1970 tiny pickup truck, they do not accept credit cards cash only- yup sealed system failure that will be another $89.00 bucks. $1,100 to fix it. The Federal Trade Commission is allowing LG Electronics USA to continue to rip-off Americans. LG is aware of their defective compressors & systems. I was told they are back ordered in Korea, could be 2 months before parts become available. A Class Action Lawsuit must be filed to protect Honest Americans from this company. Furthermore - If your large retail chain store is selling LG appliances - YOU ARE RIPPING OFF Your customers.

Purchased an LG Refrigerator only 2 years ago, compressor has already failed. Been without refrigerator for nearly five weeks because of constant run around from LG (also purchased the extended warranty), had two different repair companies (both sent from LG as certified company to do repair) and bottom line is the parts are not available because of the multitude of Compressor failures. It will be at least two months before a compressor is through production and shipped from Korea. For all of you experiencing compressor failure PLEASE CONTACT THE FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION AND YOUR STATE ATTORNEY GENERALS OFFICE. This is obviously a recall situation but they wont do that. For all of you being told your repairman cant fix your refrigerator, that is not true, there simply are no parts available and when that is the case LG is in breach of their warranties and would be forced to issue you a refund or replace on your purchase, they are giving you the run around to avoid having to pay. DONT LET THEM GET AWAY WITH IT, KEEP THE PRESSURE ON.

Worst mistake Ive made, buying LG refrigerator Model LFX25976ST French door
Worst mistake Ive made, buying LG refrigerator Model LFX25976ST French door, freezer on bottom and ice cube and water dispenser in the door. Within the first year the ice make was giving me problems and after numerous service calls and complaints, I finally had to pay to have it replaced. Now mind you, this the 7th year of owning this piece of crap. In not quite 7 years Ive four service calls, including one where I had to replace the intake valve for the water at the bottom rear of the refer. And another service charge and parts charge. Now its becoming a money pit. Here I am 4 months short of 7 years owning this refer. And the compressor goes bye bye, This time its a $65.00 service call to tell me that it would cost me another $1,569.00 to replace it. Now Ive had enough. Went out and bought a new refrigerator and am hopeful that its going to be a better experience than the piece of ** LG that I had! My recommendation is to never buy a LG product. The service tech was very happy, a five minute call and made $65.00 for it. He said the letters on the refrigerator should read GL in stead of LG standing GOOD LUCK and I believe he was right. Anyone that buys any LG Product deserves what they get.

14-month-old drain hose ruptured, service call repair at my costs. A year later drain pump burned out and ruined many clothes as they mildewed and that smell does not come out. Now another year later, washer just continues to fill with water, tried to turn power off with power button but power would just keep turning itself back on, even with power secured water kept coming. Had to shut off water supply, costing more than this washer is worth. Could have bought cheap washer for the cost of repairs and been ahead. Washer not worth the money or cost of repairs with continual breakdowns. You are welcome to contact me. Thank you.

I remodeled my house and brought 4 LG products. Microwave for over the range, sitting in my living room, home alone and heard a noise. I go into the kitchen to find the handle of the microwave on the floor, repairman man said it was cracked. Microwave was 1 month old. Dishwasher 2 mo. old, the latch cracked and had to be replaced. Range, oven door almost fell off, missing 2 screws. The best for last, my horror story of the French door fridge, needed twice to replace the motherboard (I think it came from China?), the freezer door did not lock well, escaping cold air, the ice maker had to be replaced. I had put hardwood all thru the house including the kitchen. I now have some leak coming from the bottom of the fridge, it is now ruining my hardwood. The appliance man will be out this Tuesday. All appliances were purchased the same day and 3 out of 4 had issues within the first month. I was looking to see if there were any recalls or class actions suits. These product in my case were just terrible, even the stainless steel has an issue. I put my old Amana fridge in the garage, mine is about 20 years old and still works like a charm. I WILL NEVER BUY AN LG PRODUCT, life is good my foot. Had to take off work numerous times to have items fixed. I think I goofed and purchased LG instead of GE, mapping the price.

I purchased an LG top load washer in 3/11 from Best Buy. I had unbalance issues almost from the start. Finally May this year, I contacted a service repair to find out what is going on. They couldnt figure out the problem and called LG for answers. It got them nowhere. I called LG and found out my washer had a recall and they would have a service repair done. They scheduled an appointment that a part had to be ordered so the date had to be changed. 10 days later, the part was put in my washer. It still doesnt work right. I have had 3 service calls on it. Everyone tells me my washer has so many problems dont bother getting it fixed. I have tried to talk to someone at LG to be transferred from one dept. to the next to emailing. The website wont let me make a complaint. I was sent a survey and did let them know my washer still doesnt work and Im very dissatisfied with LG. I have tried everything I can think of to get answers to fix a 2-year old washer. Now Im being told just to buy a new washer. LG service is terrible and their product sucks. I will never buy anything from LG again.

I bought an LG refrigerator (LMCX23746) from Costco in August, 2016. The ice maker stopped working in March, 2020. I paid LG $125 for a diagnosis by an LG technician who told me that a wire in the door is broken. It happened because we opened and closed the French door too many times (2000+). To repair, a new door and control board plus labor will cost me another $625-$875. I called LG and they refused to cover the parts because it is not part of the closed system. The customer service even suggested I slammed the door. I am following up with Costco on this. Even though I wont have an working ice maker in the end, I am not going to send one more penny to LG. Another customer has the same issue with the same LG fridge: **. So if you have an LG French Door unit, try to open the other door more. Or turn the French Door into a Single Door unit because the door with dispensers is dedicated to the ice maker.

Bought the microwave from Walmart in 2019, used it without issue for about a year. Last night, I put something in to warm for 1 minute. (No metals etc of course.) And no sooner had the minute started I turned away, heard a huge grinding whoosh noise, turned back to see fire coming from the right side panel. It made the sound again, another burst of flame and I shut it off. I had the unit unplugged and set outside. I contacted LG with a pic of a clear burn mark on the right panel, explained what happened and they told me too bad, nothing they can do, try returning it to store. ALSO, they further accused me of exploding something in the microwave itself. This was the suggestion of a supervisor. I am appalled and surprised at how they handle this situation. I would seriously reconsider buying anything from them. This could have ended up so much worse than $150 down the drain.

I was so excited about getting the French door, two drawer model. I have two complaints. First one is the shelves. I have more tall bottles than the fridge accommodates, then there is a short space behind that I can set something in but you have to remove the tall bottles to get to it. The main complaint is the icemaker. The ice balls come out great, it makes 3 a day, however the crushed and cubed work for about a week then nothing for a week then suddenly its working again. We called customer service they referred us to the local technician who apparently hates his job. He would not even come out to look at the problem. He said he would order a new icemaker. At this time the fridge was only 3 weeks old. We had to keep calling him back to check on the new part. Then he never came out with the part until after the 3rd time he said he would come. Then he wouldnt speak to us. After about a month the icemaker quit for a week then started up again and so on. I ordered ice trays on Amazon. No way we will deal with that repairman again. And when he did come out we were really nice and friendly I even told him a few jokes and he totally ignored me. We bought it through Costco.

I have never written a review but am so dissatisfied with my LG Direct Drive Dishwasher (paid over $800) - I felt compelled to warn others. I have hated it from day one mainly for the design of the racks. Although the tines look evenly aligned they do not hold my dishes upright causing them to fall over. I have rearranged them hoping to find better placement but to no avail. The glasses on top fall over as well causing a number of them to break since purchasing just over 2 months ago. They clang into each other while washing. This morning was the last straw when I discovered 90 percent of the coffee cups and glasses were caked with debris and need to be washed over. I hate this thing. Buyer beware - model 406KWELS3892.

Like the features, Ive owned and used these item for over 13 years and have not had any issues or problems with them. Regular repairs would definitely be a deal breaker because, Ill be forced to pay or spend extra money on these items if not investing in another brand. We purchased new LG front load top of the line largest capacity washing machine (and Dryer) through Best Buy less than 1 month ago. The first time we used it with a large load of clothes it shook so bad it was bumping against the wall. We called for service and two very young men came as a team, looked at it for two minutes and said it was installed too close to the wall and that was why it was vibrating so bad. They moved it 3 away from wall and left without testing it.Next day, another load of clothes and no change, it sounds like a machine gun and a thrashing machine all in one. Another call to LG and they scheduled the LG expert to come out. He takes the washer apart and discovers one of the shock absorbers is missing the connecting pin and was never hooked up. He orders the part and returns a week later to make the repair. While he was here we complained about the second problem with this washing machine which is the water valves that open and close to allow hot and cold water to fill the washer do so in such an abrupt manner that our plumbing pipes bang all the way up to the second floor. His answers is we need to call a plumber to have our pipes fixed. Now we had two other washing machines in this exact location connected to the exact same pipes and never once heard our pipes bang. He also said we could google some third party suppliers of some sort of aftermarket connector that helps with this sort of problem. We should buy them at our expense. Ok we spent $1,200 for this top of the line washing machine and need to buy after market parts to make it work. Round 3 - we called to speak to the LG rep again and explain that the washing machine is still banging our pipes and when it goes into spin mode it shakes, uncontrollably and makes noises that sound like it is coming apart. They are sending another expert Monday. I will not be satisfied until they remove this piece of junk from our home and give us a full refund. I do not know what happened to this companys quality control. We previously owned top of the line LG washing machine and dryer that lasted for 10 years without a service call. WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT BUY THIS WASHING MACHINE. Pictures attached for make and model.

We bought a brand new LG electric range from Future Shop in Duncan 2 years ago when we moved into a new house. A few months ago the push panel on top started to give problems. Could not use the timer anymore. Had a mechanic look at it and he thought we might need a new panel which might cost $800 which we were not willing to pay as we think it might be loose connections. I called LG twice, they were supposed to call me back but I never got a reply. Today the start button on the oven is not working. What will happen next? We have had ovens for 15-20 years without problems. Does this mean we have to replace a panel for $1000 with taxes and labor or buy a new oven? After 2 years??? We are at the end of our ropes. Who can help?

After reading all these reviews, and after my own experience, I am very surprised, that this company is still on market. I bought my french door refrigerator LFX31945ST on July 2014 from Home Depot. On October 2014 it stopped working for a first time. Er rF code appeared. Called LG, they sent a technician. He showed me that ice build up behind the rear panel and blocked fan. He blamed us (or whoever installed the fridge) for not removing the plastic foil from the rear, which could cause this problem. Exactly after one year in October 2015 the same problem - first fan started making noise, and after two days eR rF code. Called LG (thanks God, I bought extended warranty), technician came, replaced few parts, said everything should be OK. Since then, literally every month we had this pattern - fan noisy - eR rf code, technician replaced some parts (I get lost what he replaced), said everything now should be fine, next month fan noisy....etc, etc. Finally, when I started demanding money back and mentioned that next time my lawyer will talk with you, they sent a third company, who following instruction on the phone from, I guess, LG, altered some settings, and in November 2016 they fixed it. Refrigerator worked over the year without any problems. We hoped our problems are over. Not so fast! In July 2018 refrigerator stopped cooling, no error code appeared, just we see the water one morning and thawed food. Called HOME Depot, they sent LG technician, who said that everything with the refrigerator is OK, and it got defrost because we did not close the door properly (!). OK, we believed in that, especially since this one morning refrigerator seemed to work OK. Not so long, after ~ four weeks again the same. Again, LG technician said we did not close the door properly, and we put too much food (!!). Home Depot protection plan refused to cover spoiled food, because technician did not find any failure. OK, that was enough, I started very closely monitoring temperature inside, and noticed that it is consistently higher than it should be (nearly room temperature in refrigerator compartment, and around 34F in the fridge. OK, called Home Depot third time. They sent a third company. After two weeks or so, several cancelled appointments, etc technician showed up and after 15 seconds staring at the refrigerator said that drainage (or something like this) needs to be replaced (very peculiar way of diagnosing). It took another month to order a part, schedule an appointment, etc, and when finally he appeared with part, he said that refrigerator is not fixable. The same day I got the phone call from Home Depot that they will send LG technician to confirm this diagnosis. The same LG technician appeared and said that compressor needs to be replaced. Again, waiting two weeks (only two weeks) for part, and refrigerator was fixed in October 2018. Two weeks ago fan started making noise, and today morning eR rF code appeared. Called Home Depot this morning...To sum up: when Home Depot protection plan expires I will throw away this piece of junk and buy new one, from different manufacturer. I will do may best to get my money back from LG or Home Depot, because in my opinion this fridge was inherently broken from the beginning. I will closely watch what is going on with that class action. STAY AWAY FROM LG REFRIGERATOR, otherwise you will soon write review similar to mine and hundreds of others on this webpage.
