I purchased an LG refrigerator June of 2015. Upon receiving the fridge just a week later the freezer stopped working. Had it repaired and was under warranty. Now July of 2017 the compressor stopped working. TWO major components on a two year old refrigerator is ridiculous! The customer service at LG is unbelievable. And not in a good way. I called 5 times and got someone different each time. NO ONE CARES there. I was given the runaround for a month now. You wouldnt believe what I went through... I will NEVER buy another LG product, nor will I recommend to anyone. Beware...this company doesnt care! I am now buying a new fridge...after the one that I bought from LG is definitely a lemon. Trust me my new one wont be an LG! Their products are cheaply made and quality is poor. Do not buy! Customers dont matter!

Every other load, this HE top load machine (wt5001cw) goes off balance. At the end of the spin cycle, the machine repeats the rinse/spin cycle over and over until it goes off balance or I manually stop it. This causes the clothes to never spin fully dry. Ive contacted LG and they wont do anything, because I cant find the original bill of sale from Sears - although Sears did give me a printout showing a summary of my purchase from 10/3/2010 which includes the model number of the LG Washer, but not the purchase price.According to a repair estimate, the parts and labor for just a new control panel will be over $400, which still does not solve the balance problem. The machine is only 14 months old and LG doesnt care. By the way, Ive been using a family members new Whirlpool HE top loader and its working great, washing the same clothes without ever going off balance. I only say this because LG will probably blame the balancing issue on the clothes or me.

I really like this washer except sometimes I could not wash a lightweight quilt. The spin cycle would stay on 6 and it was too heavy for the washer to handle. And once the rubber that went around the inside of the machine came off and water spilled out all over the place and the repairman said that happened often.

LG WT1101CW Top load washer - I purchased this washer January of 2014. I read the reviews in consumer reports and that is how I came to purchase this washer. My issue with it is that I feel it has more control over me than I do over it. It uses less water and does not saturate the items and because it uses less water, when you add chlorine bleach it leave chlorine fade marks on white wash as well as a darker wash. This has happened many times and a lot of my items were ruined. I do not believe that Consumer Reports tested this issue on clothing. I have also had to rewash my clothing because the dirt just didnt come out. I currently have sent LG an email with regard to this issue. Today, I just purchased a Kenmore with an agitator and it has a water level that I can choose. Although it is 3.6 cf as opposed to 4.3 cf. submitted by serial number. CHLORINE BLEACH DISPERSEMENT AND WATER LEVEL IS THE ISSUE. I have gotten unbalance codes but machine works and is quiet but I want my laundry clean.

I was happy with the young man that repaired our refrigerator. He was professional and completed his work within a timely manner. I was disappointed in LG for not trusting me, I told the lady the compressor was not running. The fan and lights were working, just not the compressor. The temperature in the refrigerator was 65 degrees plus. I also told her I had heard the compressor running loud a few days before and now nothing. If the lady at LG had trusted me, the part could have been ordered and here or with repairman when he arrived here the first time and I could have my refrigerator repaired and running a week earlier. I am all not happy that repairs had to be done within the first few years of owning it. I understand that this is a regular occurrence on refrigerators now. Disappointed in the integration of the companies putting in place planned obsolescence. I have a 25 year old refrigerator that is still running and has never had repairs done to it. The big profits for the companies, is not good for the consumers or the landfills. I am thankful for the warranty that did cover the parts and the lady at LG for covering the labor repairs. I am just sorry that I have to be without my refrigerator for a extended period of time.

I purchased 5 Major LG Appliances (Range, Washer, Dryer-both with pedestals
I purchased 5 Major LG Appliances (Range, Washer, Dryer-both with pedestals, Dishwasher and Refrigerator) in August of 09. Right away the appliances started giving me issues. The Dryer would not dry completely, due to me calling so many times, a tech was sent and told me not to use dryer sheets, um ok. I then received a part, a whole electronic panel in which I didnt even know was coming with no one to put it on. I still just have to dry my laundry 2 times to completely dry. The washer has had several parts replaced, I actually ordered the parts online since LG gave me the run around. The refrigerator works but has issues with the way it was built, cheaply! The dishwasher does nothing close to washing dishes. I rinse everything before it goes in and they come out dirty, like they were soaking in a mud bath. The MAJOR complaint is the LG LRE30453 Range. It is dangerous. I have called for over 2 years about this range overheating, both the burners and the oven. I was told to unplug, to reset the breakers, leave off 10 minutes, reset temperature but holding down the bake key and adjusting the temp up or down. I have done everything and it does not work properly. The range heats up to 600 degrees no matter what temp it is turned on to. It does not give an error code and it does not lock like it would if it were overheating, there is also a fuse that is supposed to blow if it gets too hot, per the tech that finally was sent this week, per LG extending my warranty on parts and Labor. The tech said that, due to the range being RECALLED, as well as the amount it would cost to fix it, that he would deem it unrepairable and LG should replace it. WELL, LG called this morning and let me know they were going to send me a check for $253.43 plus tax for my range and for me to Scrap the one I have now. I told them that was not acceptable and would not cover the price even of a generic brand and I wanted a supervisor, they had Michael, supposedly a supervisor called me and he gave me an extra year on the warranty to up the amount to $375.14 plus tax (403.25), but he wants me to send the range to LG, wait 3-6 weeks for them to review the range, then send me a check for the stated amount. I asked if they were going to cover meals during that time and he snickered and said, um no maam, we sure wont. I am SO furious about this. The tech said the range could be fixed but, in his line of work, he will usually deem it unrepairable if the cost to repair will exceed the price of LG replacing it for the customer. Well, now I am screwed, LG needs to either fix my range for 1500 or replace it for the 800 I paid for it on sale.I was on the phone with LG , 4 different people, hung up in 2 times after waiting on hold for their escalation team to answer. I called the 3rd time, got a lady names Ross and sat on hold for 25 minutes before she came on the line to tell me that she was reading my notes and I already talked to Michael so, there was nothing to be done. I asked about the escalation line again and she was very rude, and acted like I just wanted a new stove because mine was scratched or the paint was chipped, due to the lady taking my techs call RMAd the range and put due to paint chipping...I guess that was the easiest thing to pick to devalue the range the most. My tech called them and let them know he did not deem it unrepairable due to paint, that was just an issue from the overheating of the unit and it was UNUSABLE not cosmetically damaged like they reported that he claimed. He actually called them from my kitchen on speaker phone to describe to them the issues. Ross then very rudely gave me a number to call the escalation team myself and the phone rang and rang, to finally a recording of, this department is closed, please call back in normal business hours. I was on the phone with these clowns ALL day, with the supervisor Michael telling me that this week is the first time I have ever called them. Funny how all my calls disappeared once I called them out on not notifying me of the RECALL on this lemon of a range. I then referred back to my dryer issue and they acted like I was crazy. I guess at this point, I AM CRAZY, and broke from eating out and ruining food and pots and pans. LG is a JOKE. Life is NOT good with LG, they stink and do NOT stand behind their overpriced headaches of appliances.

Very reasonable price, easy to operate and the brand well recommended. It was very easy and simple to operate. Like the features, Ive owned and used these item for over 13 years and have not had any issues or problems with them. Regular repairs would definitely be a deal breaker because, Ill be forced to pay or spend extra money on these items if not investing in another brand. Im a male who washes most of the time because the wife is away so, I have known what cycle and temperature to use when washing whites, colored or black garments. So because this product is seamless to operate Ive never had any problems doing my laundry. Beside the price fitted in my budget.

We had a kitchen remodel in November 2009, we purchased all LG appliances. My LG convection oven has been serviced 3 times for the same exact problem. Error: F-9, the thermostat will not heat the oven. Obviously there is a problem with the oven and it should be replaced. The model cost over $1800.00, and I thought that LG stood behind their product. The oven (wall unit) is just 2 years old. I also have an LG dishwasher, which was serviced because the motor went out the first year.

This is a follow-up to my first complaint. We sent in the serial number label and paperwork stating that we would not hold LG responsible for a hush money settlement of $264.00. The offer had expired while we were pursuing our legal options, so we called and talked to a gal named Courtney who said, “No problem. Send in the paperwork and we will honor the cash hush payment originally offered.” We received a phone call today from a person named Sunyung who originally had made the offer. She informed us that now the offer had gone down to $194.00, because Courtney had no authority to authorize a hush payout. Then, she proceeded to complain and tell me that communication between the people in customer service wasnt what it should be. I told her that sounded like an internal problem and I was not being paid to listen to her and try to figure out how the communication could be rectified within her department! I asked to speak to her superior, and she gave me to Michael. Michael told me that yes, the part was warrantied, but I got one of the small percentage of refrigerators that were unfixable, basically the lemon model, and thats just how the ball bounces. They still would not honor the warranty and told me since the fridge was now a month older, it was worth $70.00 less! This thing hasnt worked for 9 months! I think I will just wait for the class action suit that I am sure will be coming up in the next few years when a lawyer gets a hold of this and wants to make some easy money. I dont care if I get only an 18 cents payout. It is now the principle of the situation. I did tell Michael he could be president with all his doublespeak and asked him why they want to beat their customers up so badly. First, they lie about their warranties; then, they offer you hush money; then, they renege on that. No ethics with these people. Obviously, they have no faith in God because this is just not how you treat people. Life sometimes just isnt fair. This is one of those times.

Be aware that the LG front end load washing machines model WM0642HW only last 5-7 years compared with top load washers 10-15 years. My wife & I made a major error by purchasing our first front end load washer that broke after 5 years. Previously for the past 30 years we have had 2 Maytag top loaders (15 years each). Specifically, the horizontal pressure on the wash tank bearings results in the failure of the bearings and the rotor assembly. These are parts that total nearly $100.00. However, the service requires at least 3-4 hours of repair, which is nearly $500.00. In summary, never purchase a LG front end load washer.

I got 1 load without a smell, next load the smell is so bad I light candles in the room. I’ve even used the extra rinse hoping to push the water out of the machine...and I waited 2 months for this machine because I wanted the granite color. Don’t understand. First full year no problem. Now it’s terrible. Don’t know what to do. My husband & I are retired & don’t generate much laundry so this is VERY annoying???

Bought LP model LFX25978ST /00 1/28/2012. Lasted 7 Years. The repairman said we fortunate because in LG training classes the instructor, when asked about the life of the LG fridges, he said 5 yrs avg. Stay away from Samsung and LG Fridges. We were without for 2 wks waiting for part after part till it came down to being the compressor. It was under warranty however LG told me that I should and have to have a certified LG repair person make the diagnosis and fix.Gentleman came and was very courteous. LG sent us a compressor overnight but it took 4 days to receive it. Then come to find out not only was the compressor shot but it leaked freon out into the inner casing and all that would have be replaced. He said go get a new fridge because the repairs would be way more than the cost of a new one. Still have the compressor. Tried to return it to LG, since it will only fit that model, they said would issue an RMA. Its been a month now and I still have not received it. Called they said it would come when it comes. Never again will I buy an LG Appliance.

We purchased a LG front load dryer (DLGX2651W) two years ago at Best Buy. Within the first year of owning the dryer the motor began making loud clanging noises and we had to have it replaced (professional repair by a serviceman sent by LG). Now it appears the replacement motor has gone out as the dryer will turn on but wont blow air or turn the drum. The Smart Diagnostics have not been helpful at all as they say the dryer is fine. We contacted LG and they denied our warranty claim, stating that we had to call in the same issue three time in order to get coverage. We are most displeased that this dryer has broken twice in the short time that we have owned it and are very upset at the prospect of having to pay for yet another repair on a dryer that is only two years old. This is not the level of quality or customer service we expect from LG and make me think twice about buying another LG appliance.

In January of 2016 I took delivery of a set of LG Black Stainless Kitchen appliances from Lowes. I purchased stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, and microwave. They were very expensive and what I consider to be high end in terms of models. Within a short time, I began to notice the refrigerator scratched at the drop of a hat. This was not my experience with prior stainless appliances. I learned the black stainless just has a black film on it and it is not the true color of the stainless.Just 2 years later, I am seeing the black coating or film peel away from the handles on my dishwasher. Just having a ring on and opening the door to the fridge is leaving scratches. Plus spots of where the film is wearing off are on the front of the fridge and at the edges of the door. The film near the handles on the dishwasher is peeling away. I called LG and they could care less. Since it is more than one year old, too bad for the consumer. There is no product on the market to try and at least cover the appearance of this faulty coating. So, just 2 years and over $7000 later I am stuck with products that are obviously defective in terms of the finish. I will NEVER do business with LG again since they gave me a defective product and will not stand behind what they sell the consumer. I have seen other negative reviews about this same issue. There should be a class action against this company for this product.

We purchased our LG Wave Force top loader model number WT5001CW about 4 1/2
We purchased our LG Wave Force top loader model number WT5001CW about 4 1/2 years ago at my local Home Depot for $850. The biggest mistake of our lives. First, the issue with washing blankets, towels etc. The code I think IU or EU pops up and you have to reorganize the blankets and make sure the machine doesnt continue to fill the tub. Sometimes it would take 4 hours to wash my blankets or comforters. Second, the bleach dispenser (I use non-chlorine bleach) seems to always be filled with water. We think the tube is clogged but we are dealing with a more serious issue right now which is my final issue. The third and final issue having dirty clothes come out of my washer after you are supposed to have clean clothes. The delicate cycle does not allow you use to use a lot water so your clothes are not completely covered in water. Then I take out my clothes and find these pieces of dirt and pebbles. Changed all the hoses. Didnt help. Have to shake my clothes of these dirt/pebble pieces then vacuum out my washer to do my next load. We tried to take the bottom plate off and just took off the bolt but the plate is stuck. We did find A LOT of icky stuff on the bolt so we know under the plate is the real issue. Most likely there is build up and needs to be cleaned out. My husband tried to bang it with a mallet to loosen it up and filled it with fabric softer but nothing happens. This washing machine is such a headache and I wish someone would just take it. I dislike it so much. Plus with the recall you cant wash waterproof items, haha. I had the repairman in here about 2 years ago to do what? Not really sure. Please save yourself the headaches and your money. Plus there is a lot plastic components which equals cheap to me.

The fridge was purchased new in February 2017. The linear compressor failed in April 2019, and various other parts have failed since then. Every part (linear compressor, refrigerant valve, freezer evaporator) except the fridge compartment evaporator has been replaced, and it still doesnt work after 7 tech visits. Technicians do not bring parts--they must be ordered and shipped every time--adding more time without a working fridge. Though we have not paid for these tech visits, we have lost money on spoiled food and from missing work to meet the repair folks. In addition, we purchased a different brand of refrigerator after the LG failed for the second time. The purpose of the warranty is to repair the product and satisfy the customer, and neither of those has happened. We want our full purchase price back along with reimbursement for wasted food. Unfortunately, a leading consumer magazine still recommends LG refrigerators. My family does not recommend them.

Purchased four door refrigerator in July of 2015. For the past few days it would not go below 50 degrees in the main compartment. Freezer only 25 degrees. As I am writing this the repairman is behind my fridge replacing the compressor. I had called the LG customer service and was on hold. Was hoping to use the “Smart Diagnosis” through the fancy transmitter on the fridge, but then received an instructional text. That did not help. Online search through LG repair site recommended a shop (Tip Top Repair, San Diego County) that supposedly would take care if it but they would not come out. I am now looking at a $1295 repair through ARC, repair being done as we speak.

Bought a LG dishwasher from Pacific store inside of Best Buy store in Tampa, Florida last Nov 28, 2014. Even after reading the reviews, stating that the machine left a stranger smell, didnt clean well... I was not totally convinced. :-( BIG MISTAKE!!! REVIEWS - BELIEVE THEM - Yes, the machine is not good AT ALL. The machine is not used too much, but after few month... the smell that was coming from it was incredible disgusting!!! It looks like something had died inside (let me make clear, I do rinse all dishes before I put them inside of the dish washer). Glasses started getting to be white. Plates I could feel there were something being left on them, they do not dry completely. After few months I got 2 guests in my home and the machine got to be used every day... OMG - then I really could see the damage - I finally decided to call for service after 10 month.CUSTOMER SERVICE - part 2. When I called the LG, they said they could only find me by my phone number, but they did not found me. I called the store I bought it from - Pacific inside Best Buy, they said ONLY by phone number, I gave them, but they would not find me over the phone. So I walked to the store with my phone bill on my hand. THEN THEY FOUND ME.All this took me another month to deal with. Now I am on the 11 month of my warranty, my time is running out (which Best Buy can find you by whatever info you give them)... Best Buy manager step in, apologize and ask the manager of Pacific to make an appointment for service call for me. Yes, they did, but today I was waiting from 8 a.m to 12 pm and nobody show up. I called the company, and they said, they dont service my area. So I said, What? So, after me spending all morning waiting, and not going to work, you dont come? They said they had called LG, and told them they dont service this area, and LG should had given my schedule to another company.I called LG again... LG said I apologize... someone else can go to your home on Wed. I said, I cant not go to work on Wed. They said, Well, Advance Tech Service, did not tell us that they did not service your area. We cannot do anything. So I said, Well, again, its me, the consumer who gets in the middle of Best Buy, Pacific, LG, and Advance Tech Service... No one wants to take responsibility for the mistake, for my pay day that I didnt make. The LG manager hang up on my face. Its rude, cruel and not right. The only thing I want is a machine that work properly and well, and someone responsible the mistake. LG and customer service - VERY BAD - DO not buy from them or from Pacific.Updated on 11/12/2015: OMG - the LG service man came to my home yesterday. After showing him my machine, how dirty my dishes were, stainless steel full of white soap, cups of coffee with all the coffee inside, I told about the terrible smell that would come out between washes, showed my cabinet that had some type of damaged on the side due to moisture... He couldnt find anything wrong with it. He said the only problem was You have to turn your faucet to hot water to a 120 degrees before turning the dish washer on. This is the problem with your machine... He even suggested that I would install a heater under my sink!?! I have lived in this house for 16 years, and I have had only one dishwasher before, which basically broke after enough use, and always worked perfect. What is he talking about?!?! Please help!!! Its under warranty and do not want to fix it.

I purchased my LG Steam Washer and Dryer on 11/26/10 from Home Depot. Thankfully, I purchased a 4 year extended warranty. Now a little over a year later, my dryer all of the sudden stops heating. I made a phone call to Home Depot on March 23rd and they contracted the work out to Appliance Solutions of Utah. When they came to do repairs, they said the dryer needed a new thermostat, the part needed to be ordered and they would be back in 3 days to do the repair. Two weeks go by and never heard from the repair guy and he never showed up on the day he said he would (I took the day off work so I could make sure I was here). Finally after 3 weeks, he showed up claiming they got sent the wrong part he replaced the thermostat and was on his way. Five days later (3/28/12), the heating on my dryer went out. I once again called Home Depot. They got the same company out. The very next day, the guy replaces the same part, the thermostat and then tells me that there is nothing wrong with the dryer. He said that I need to get my ducts cleaned out and that I can just use my dryer unhooked from the wall until I get that done. I used my dryer unhooked from the wall and once again, a week later, the heating goes out on the dryer. So, I gave Home Depot a call. Three days later, the same company shows up. Now hes claiming my dryer is out because its not hooked up to the wall but he needs to order a new thermostat again so it can once again get replaced. The repair man said he would be back in 3 days. Over two weeks have passed since he said that, I havent even received a call from the company and he just left my dryer in pieces in my laundry room. I can barely get in there. I am completely fed up with this worthless dryer, Home Depot, and Appliance Solutions of Utah. I dont think LG should be able to get away with selling these fraudulent dryers to people anymore and apparently no one knows how to repair the dumb things so they dont continue to have these problems.

I was looking for a side-by-side refrigerator and most of the manufacturers don’t have the side-by-side still but LG did. The unit also fit where my older refrigerator was perfectly and we got a great deal online from Costco. We figured we’d try it. The space that the refrigerator has is awesome. It has plenty of space and it’s great to have that space. We have 12 grandkids and three kids, and everybody’s always here so my refrigerator fills up fast. It’s been the best refrigerator until we had problems. Our compressor went out and the freezer wasn’t freezing. The day that we finally figured out that the unit was going out, I called LG. I also called Costco because there was a year warranty but Costco also covered another two years. The unit doesn’t come up for three years until October and Costco told me to definitely put a claim in. In fact, they put the claim in for me. Then I had to call LG to find somebody to come out that worked on LG. Then a girl called me up and asked how soon I needed it. I said, Now, and the next morning at 8:00, they were here. They fixed the compressor, which has 10 years warranty, and I didn’t have to pay or do anything. The refrigerator is working perfectly now.

The refrigerator part is also set on no. 2 and the food is extremely cold. The co. sent out a total of 4 people in the past 2 weeks. I also have a extended warranty and since I have this LG does not get involved. We had purchased both the washer and dryer at the same time from Lowes while building our home. I documented all of the steps we had taken and responses from LG on our repair. Went back to Lowes (where purchased from) and asked to talk to the manager. After showing him the paperwork and relating my experience he allowed me to exchange the both machines. The appliance manager worked with me and I picked out a Whirlpool Duet W&D. They scheduled a date to pick up the LG units and deliver the new Whirlpool units. I couldnt be happier with the Whirlpools, and received the difference in the cost back. I did initially call Lowes headquarters to ask if they would exchange my machines and was told that it was up to the manager at the store I purchased them from. I was very calm and respectful and had all of the paperwork to show the manager. They were really great. I will never by LG again.

I did not have a problem with the sales department at Madison appliances. My problem is with my two year old LG slide-in stove. I bought it a few years ago for my new kitchen. Actually, I saved up my money to make this big purchase. Now, only two years later, it has quit working. I called LG. After thirty minutes on the phone, I realized I would need to call a local repairman for help with fixing my stove in Savannah, Georgia: LG provided me with a recommendation to call, but they did not service my area. Now, $360 later, my two year old stove will be getting fixed by a reputable appliance repair company in my area. I will never buy LG again.I have now purchased a refrigerator and a stove within the last four years total. I have had to replace my ice maker on my refrigerator to the tune of $200 that appears to be rusting on the stainless steel (that has not been treated improperly in any way) and now I am replacing the board on the back of my stove to the tune of $360. BEWARE - I strongly urge everyone to NOT buy LG.

We upgraded all of our kitchen appliances to LG about 5 years ago. Huge mistake! Out of the 4 (refrigerator, oven, dishwasher and stove), 3 have had major, repeated issues. And each appliance was very expensive. In light of all the issues, I have still not ever filed a review or complaint on any site until now. Because I’m hoping my review will help you keep your family safe. After having it for about 5 years, our LG Extenda-Vent over the range microwave caught on fire! Sure, there were issues before like others have mentioned-the extenda-vent won’t close and the pieces of it broke off due to heat from the oven (poor design clearly as it is an over-the-range unit) but this time, my husband heated something up and the microwave went up in flames! Real flames. Luckily we had an extinguisher and put it out quickly but what if the kids were home alone and tried to heat something up? What if we weren’t right in the kitchen and noticed the smoke??I have now read many complaints of these microwaves catching on fire—what will it take for a recall? Or for someone to shut down LG completely? All of their products (fingers crossed for the stove) have some major design flaw. And others are right about the customer service, too. I have spent hours of my life on the phone with them, for a variety of recurrent issues, without good results. Who has time for that? Please keep your family safe and go with another brand.

The fridge does the job of a fridge which is what we expected. It keeps food cool. We havent had to do any maintenance on the fridge other than normal cleaning. Its also really easy to change the water filter. The water filter and fresh filter are great. Also, that it had a bottom freezer, an ice dispenser and water dispenser in the outside of the door. I like the fruit and veggie crispers and time meat and cheese drawer as well. I also really like that its stainless steel. But I dont like that when theyre are bottles or jars in the in door storage compartments that theyre is an audible sounds that you can hear. It rumbles rather loudly and can be annoying.

This time however dealing with the customer service department had been horrible. I have now been without a working refrigerator for 3 weeks and have not heard from L.G. once. I have spent several hours on hold on many days just trying to get some help. Completely disappointed with the products life span. You cant sell a product for nearly 3,000 dollars and have it not work. Based on the current situation I find it difficult to believe that I will EVER purchase a L.G. product again. On December 18 the appliance repair company said one of the parts had to be ordered because the LG warehouse did not have the part. Over 2 1/2 months have past and still no parts. Have contacted LG, the repair company and purchasing company (Home Depot) for help to be told parts are on order. When my wife and I purchased our LG washer and dryer from Best Buy in highland, Indiana, our sales rep informed us that installers could switch latch and hinge side of doors upon delivery. When our machines were delivered, installer was able to give us a left side hinge, as we desired on our dryer. However, we were informed that washer was not so adaptable. We would need to wait up to two weeks for the correct machine to be delivered. When I contacted Best Buy, they would accept no responsibility for their sales agent giving us incorrect information. After using machines as is for some time now, it is really inconvenient to use with left hinges on both machines. Well, this is the first and LAST LG product Ill ever have. Waveforce top loader WT-5001CW. The consumer reports at the time we purchased the washer were good, but I guess only for the time they got any ink. After only three years this thing, like all the others reviewed here, throws up the UE (uneven) trouble code, and smells like a sweaty billy goat even with routine cleaning/preventative maintenance. Our clothes also have the same odor after being washed in this contraption, especially the towels. The first recall reprogramming was done shy of a year after delivery, so we never got to see it self destruct, although now I kind of wish it had because it would have at least provided some good entertainment considering how much this pos cost!! $800 for any sort of appliance that cant make it even 3 years without repairs, and cant perform the tasks it claims to = LEMON in my book. But the worst part of it all is, the company contracted to repair it is either heavily burdened with fixing these overgrown paperweights, or horribly understaffed, because theres apparently a two-week window in between each time they can get to me to diagnose and repair, with parts having to be sent from some God-forsaken dirt stain way out somewhere! Maybe I should feel fortunate that so far we havent been duped into dumping more money into this HE pit, but I shouldnt be having to take off from work for bs like this; I still lose money if I dont go to work, right?! Im firmly starting to believe that there is nothing new thats worth owning. Maybe you should too! LG should be BOYCOTTED for their transgressions against the consumers, and manufacturing should be brought back to AMERICA!

My first unit came with a manufacturing defect where the housing unit inside the fridge housing. The styrofoam kept coming apart and wouldnt stay put. LG and Lowes recommended that I just exchange it for a new product. Besides that one manufacturing defect, the unit worked fine; it was quiet and efficient. Now, after a week the second and replacement unit was delivered. Oh boy, LG has some major issues they need to fix. First, the unit comes without one shelf on the freezer side. This was remedied by them saying they would send one out to us. Second, this fridge is much louder than the first unit we received. It makes a constant humming noise, which is quiet and we wouldnt have thought much of it, but we had experiences with our first defective unit to compare it to. Heres the kicker though. Occasionally, the fridge will start rattling. Its not too abhorrent, but when we open the fridge, the shelves will make a vibrating noise that gets amplified. I contacted LG support again to ask how to remedy this because we werent sure if it was a leveling issue or something else. The agent that I was connected to just tells me to unplug it and plug it back in, and adds that if it isnt resolved we would need service for a fridge that we had just received. To top it all off, the serial number matches a fridge that was made in April 2020. How terrible does your quality control procedure have to be for this to happen? Im 0/2 in receiving a brand new perfect product. I went with LG because people said they improved (partially because of my Korean bias), but man stay away. Currently debating if I should ask Lowes to replace the unit or if I should go with a completely different refrigerator. Terrible. Just terrible.

Purchased a freezer on the bottom, French door on top refrigerator that ran for six months. When I called LG to repair, I was told originally that I was not in their repair area (A&E). After much discussion, they decided to send someone out (from Sears, not A&E) and my earliest appointment was three weeks away. I had to rent a refrigerator. When they called to say they would be there after lunch, I made the wrong assumption that it would be at least 12:30 to 1:00 pm. Wrong, they got there at 12:15, I did not get there until 12:30 after leaving work. I was not aware that 12:15 was considered after lunch. They would not come back and now I had to wait another three weeks for someone. Again they will not tell me what time they will arrive, just between 8 and 5, even though I requested an afternoon appointment rather than take off all day from work. Very unsatisfied with the service of the refrigerator and the service of their outside repair contractor. If parts have to be ordered, it will be additional time on top of the six weeks I have already waited.

I purchased an LG French door refrigerator a few years ago. Within a few months, all the plastic inside began to crack. It isnt from abuse. Its not from cleaning with harsh chemicals. Every piece of plastic in the top refrigerator is broken - those on the doors and those holding the glass shelves. The freezer drawers are held on the track with duct tape as the freezer inside is all cracked too. The egg holder is completely cracked also. Looks like dry rot. The parts that allow the drawers to pull in and out also fell apart and/or cracked. I am waiting for the plastic holding the bottom glass shelve which goes along the entire width of the fridge to finish cracking so far this one has a hairline crack.I wrote back and forth to LG who did nothing but tell me they would elevate my complaint higher - but I think they meant lower - as into the trash. It has been 4 months since I gave them my serial number to move the complaint along as they said right away. My entire refrigerator is held together with duct tape. Lucky me that duct tape comes in white now. This is a crime that this company gets away with this. There should be a class action lawsuit. I work hard for my money and this is just unacceptable.

I bought the LG set about 11 months ago. For the first month it operated like a dream. Then it started leaving residue on my dark clothes...looks like streaks of lint or undissolved detergent. I have changed detergents, added less or more, used large loads and small ones, and nothing helps. I have to wash the load a second and sometimes third time without detergent to get it clean. Another problem is that if I wash anything with my darks that is even slightly lighter than black or brown, the dark dye is transferred to the clothes and ruins them. I have done the same thing for years with other machines without problems, but this one for some reason causes the dyes to transfer. I think both problems are caused by too little water being used. Have finally lost patience and will start the never ending cycle of service calls, I guess. I dont recommend this product. It does NOT save water.

After having a house fire and needing all new appliances, we decided to go with an LG 4 piece kitchen appliance package from Home Depot for nearly $3,000. Within 5 years (right after the extended warranty we purchased had expired) the dishwasher stopped draining. We ate the cost of that and got rid of it and purchased one from a competitor. We have also had problems with our oven, sometimes it will go through periods where it wont turn on, then its fine the next day. Again, we are just dealing with that at this point since we cant afford to purchase a new one right now. Finally, we are now dealing with our refrigerator. At $1600 our refrigerator has stopped working due to a bad compressor at less than 8 years old. There is only one technician in our area that LG will let repair this, and while the part is still covered by the manufacturer warranty, the labor is going to be between $500 and $700. This is ridiculous! We had so many options when choosing our appliances and we put our trust and money into LG. We have been living out of a mini fridge for two weeks because we dont have the money to make this repair. After reading all of the same complaints about this refrigerator, LG should be held accountable and make this right for their customers!

Bought LG LMXC23746S/00 around 4 years ago. Quite expensive, over $3500. The sealed compressor broke. This is what the technician said, I wouldnt charge you $600 for the Freon if I know your fridge will get the same problem in 2 months. Another company wont even come out to service. This is what that company said: Sorry, I dont provide this service. I suggest calling LG if under 5 years. If older replace unit. LG is known for sealed system issues. We no longer work on LG sealed system because of their known issues. We cant warranty something that we know doesnt last. Actually, 2 years after we got this fridge, the plastic shelf start to crack and some part broke up like crackers. Well, so much for a 4 years old LG fridge. I recommend to stay away from LG refrigerator.

We purchased this refrigerator when redoing kitchen. Took 4 deliveries to get it. I was laid up with hip surgery so by the time I tried to clean doors nothing worked. No stainless steel product worked. Then I tried putting up magnets. They do not stick. This LG refrig came from Mexico. Company told me to get service co out and see if it is SS. WHAT? Co says it is SS. If it is why dont magnets work and SS Cleaner work? Called service co here and they want nothing to do with this. Never heard of this. Mad in Michigan.

I have to spin the clothing piece by piece to get the water out enough to put the clothes in the dryer. Worst washer I have ever owned. I will never, ever purchase another washer like this again! If I could give it a zero rating I would!

We paid a fortune for this washer. It is an LG Wave Force True Balance top load. As another consumer stated, you cannot wash a small or a very large load without the UE code showing on the display. The machine constantly tries to balance itself. To me, 1 or 2 things is a small load. Ive washed 10-12 articles of clothing and I still get a UE. I go in readjust the load, press start. 10 minutes later I get UE again. It takes me 2 hours to wash a load of clothes. The repairman came out twice. We had a discussion over the small load issue. So now my unfortunate solution has been to change to a slower spin speed (which often does not work either) or to wash pants, shirts, towels and under garments all together so I can come up with a load size that the machine will take. Very poor design. I will never buy an LG washer again. It was a waste of money.

The ridiculous LG HDTV refrigerator, no replacement parts - Wayne Park, President of LG headquarters in New Jersey, has not returned my numerous phone calls to repair/replace their digital refrigerator of tomorrow. Folks, this refrigerator has serious functionality issues and LGs customer service told me that there are no replacement parts anywhere in the world, not even in Malaysia. Life is not good in our kitchen and I am still waiting for Wayne Park to call me to replace this ridiculous, expensive, non-functional refrigerator.

Im not sure what one more negative review will do for LGs image problem with its refrigerators. However you would think that as the reviews pile up and pile up that at some point the company might start dealing with the fallout and consumer dissatisfaction. My model is (rather was) a french door type with bottom freezer. While Ive had it the interior light bulb melted its plastic cover, Ive had the ice maker replaced twice, and the thermostat assembly has gone twice. Some on warranty and some not. The second time I decided to cut my losses (tons of food lost) and no comfort that the problems would end and replace my fridge. In these days of sustainability thinking however I remain upset with this company and the crappy product I bought. Thing is the glitzy outer casing looks brand new. What a shame.

Our fridge broke after 5 months. We had the repairman at our house 4 times over 6 weeks and fridge still was not fixed. Called LG customer service many times and explained that our fridge has not worked for 6 weeks and we have 2 toddlers and no one was able to help me. Many different customer service reps told me they would put it my request for a new fridge but it would be denied and they were unable to help me. After asking for a manager, I was put on hold for 45 min and then disconnected, this happened 3 times and no one called me back. We were also promised the max amount for food spoilage and after finally agreeing to give us money back for our fridge, LG told us we no longer qualified for the food reimbursement so we lost hundreds of dollars worth of food (over the course of fridge braking 4 times). This was the worst customer service I ever experienced in my life and for that reason, we will never buy an LG appliance again!

We upgraded our entire kitchen with LG appliances. This may end up being a deadly mistake. I am paranoid we are not going to wake up some morning. The knobs on the gas range are UNSAFE. It only takes a slight bump for either the gas to come on or the burners ignite. I cant believe LG has not done a recall on these ranges. I turned in a Warranty Claim on my LG French Door Refrigerator which LG denied, their reason being that because when the serviceman came out he could not duplicate the problem. It was very obvious that the water had leaked underneath the refrigerator on the left side damaging my wood floor on my new home that I had just moved into on June 9, 2016, the refrigerator had been ordered online from Sears and hooked up by Sears servicemen. The water damaged wood under the refrigerator was found when the refrigerator had to be moved for some touchup painting behind the refrigerator. There is nowhere else the water could have come from except the refrigerator. There had been a rotten egg smell in the appliance for about 2 weeks, but there were was nothing rotten in the fridge, I even switched out the filter and put charcoal in the fridge... It finally dissipated after about 2 weeks. I told the repairman about this and he said a water line possibly got stopped up and then it released the water. The problem is he didnt put that on his report, he just put that problem could not be duplicated.

Read reviews and saw some who said they replaced pump, control board and no better. I used shop vac to suck out water, then took long time balancing dishwasher, then re-routed drain pipe up high, instead of cabinet floor. Has worked since with only filter cleaning every few loads. Updated on 09/18/2019: Update to my prior post of July 2019. It is now September 18, 2019 and my refrigerator is still not fixed. The most recent cooling issue started in June 2019 and it is still not fixed by LG. I call every week and every week Im told that they are sending my issue to the Escalation Dept who will call me in 2-3 business days. No one ever calls back. Finally someone acted like they were going to replace it. After I uploaded receipt provided by Lowes. The new person who answered the phone said no replacement until a service person says it cannot be repaired. So, I said I dont care whether you replace it or fix it, I just need it to work because it is now 50+ degrees inside the refrigerator. Of course, this new person is referring my case to the Escalation Dept and Ill be calling again next week to try to get my refrigerator fixed. I doubt it will ever be fixed but Ill call every week until someone shows up to try to fix it... DO NOT BUY AN LG REFRIGERATOR!!!Original Review: NEVER BUY ANY LG APPLIANCE! The LG refrigerator I bought (which cost over $3,000.00) had an error message about cooling by the fan within 24 hours of the refrigerator being delivered. It took about 6 months and at least 4 visits from a repairman (after many, many phone calls to try to get a repairmen sent) before the issue was fixed. Then, 4 months later, I have the same error message with the same fan issue. It has now been over a month since the issue started again and it is still not fixed. I could write 10 pages about the horrible customer service at LG and the slow and horrible service companies they LG has assigned to fix the issue. I will certainly never buy another LG appliance and I recommend that no one else ever buy an LG appliance. Any manufacturer has got to have a better product and a better customer service function and better service companies that they engage to act on their behalf.

Have only had the fridge for just over 5 years, and already the compressor has failed. Came home to water all over the floor. All the food in the freezer had to be tossed. Tried calling LGs 800 number, and I got Craige, their automated whatever you want to call it. When go through his questions, you get disconnected. Tried calling 4 times to actually speak to someone, and every time got Craige. I guess LGs great Linear Compressor has a 10 year warranty, but Im looking at over $500 to have it put in as only the part will be covered. I wish I had read reviews about this horrible compressor when I was purchasing this fridge, as I would never have bought it. But Im like so many others and will have to get it fixed since it cost so much money only 5 years ago. Just sad LG cant make a reliable product. What makes me mad is they know about their failing compressors and arent doing anything about it with their so called valued customers.

This is an 18-month-old LG refrigerator and is the second time it has suffered this failure. I have now been without a refrigerator for 9 days - over Christmas no less, and I am now told that it will be at least another week - with no confirmation on that - before I have the parts. I ordered parts from the LG supplier as given on the LG website - MCM electronics. They never shipped the part. Then when I spoke with them again they reluctantly said they would ship with another shipper claiming it was the shippers problem - but USPS, the original shipper says the parts were never available for pickup. One of the two parts did arrive and - my fault - it was not the correct part. I cannot track the second part as they never sent purchase confirmation e-mail and they are closed. Then I ordered the same parts via Sears - the website said they were in stock but Sears now confirms that the parts were indeed not in stock at LG and that it will be at least another week until they arrive, but they cannot confirm this. Parts are also not available at Repair Clinic.com. This appears to be an LG purposeful action to force you through an LG repairperson as the parts are not available from anyone - its an easy fix if I can ever get the parts. I need to file a complaint against LG and on Monday I will follow-up further with the State Attorney Generals Office and the Better Business Bureau. At this point - over my dead body will I call for an LG repairperson and I will never again purchase anything from LG.

My LG french door is only 2 years old and the refrigerator section stopped cooling. The freezer compartment continues to keep my food cold and frozen. We contacted customer service and had a very challenging time explaining the customer service rep what the problem was. Finally, he said he would have a repair company contact us. The repair company that contacted us is 4 hours away!!! And only service the area I live in once a week. They did work on the refrigerator and determined that a part had to be ordered for it. The repair company said they would contact us as soon as the part arrived. We are now in our 4th week without refrigeration!!! Yes, we had to go through the holidays using coolers and have lost so much costly food! My husband just contacted the repair company again and was again told that they would call us as soon as the part came in. I WILL NEVER BUY AN LG REFRIGERATOR AGAIN.

I purchased my LG front load steam washer, model WM2501HWA, in April of 2010. It worked fine until May 2014 when it just stopped mid-spin cycle. It totally lost all power. I checked the obvious, tripped breaker switch, plugs, and all was fine. So I called a repair company that was recommended to me by a friend. They diagnosed the problem as a bad power board. It was also recommended that I replace the noise filter at the same time. Parts and labor would be over $300 not including diagnostic fee. After waiting a month for the parts, they installed them and it worked. After about 6 loads it died again! Ive been waiting for the new parts and its been over a month! I asked the repair company if they could just refund my money so I could just get a new one and they said they wanted to install the new parts first. They have yet to receive my parts and I am spending $25 a week at the laundromat. The first mistake I made was buying an LG washer and dryer. My second mistake was calling a bad repair company. I am currently out $300 and have no working washer. I am so mad!! Dont buy LG!!!

I’ve dealt with LG stuff through the years and the products that I’ve gotten seemed to work very well. Aside from TVs and others, being in the elevator business, I have bought and installed LG elevators, which were good quality products. We got an LG refrigerator and it works well. It keeps the food cool. And when it’s working right, it keeps the ice cream hard, and I like that. I was just having an issue with the food getting warm. Their technician came out within a day and a half and fixed it, but didn’t get it right on the first time. When I told them it wasn’t working, they said they could come the following day, which was a Saturday. I was impressed that they came out even on a weekend. They took care of it early in the morning and got us up and running. So I was really happy. I had a big party planned and the technician got the refrigerator all fixed up before that. It started cooling down really well, and everything was fantastic. The technician was a nice gentleman, and very cooperative. He worked with us. All-around, I was happy with the service that I got from LG. And I would be calling them again if I have any problems with the refrigerator. I’m happy that they have their own service department. A lot of times you get different companies that are servicing the product, and they gotta run to LG to get the parts. The guy we had here is directly connected with LG, so it’s part of their system. And I know, being in the business, that if you’re dealing with the in-house manufacturer, they have better availability of parts and technical support than a middleman. You get a couple of people down this chain, and now you gotta order the parts and it takes longer. But the guy we had was able to come with the parts and then he did the job, and that makes the difference. I would absolutely recommend them.

I would give zero stars if I could. We bought all LG kitchen appliances less than 3 years ago. The oven and microwave are terrible. We are on our second microwave with them. I rarely use the microwave and while it was heating, it just shut off. It was most likely the circuit breaker and when that happens no reason to try to repair. We tried to buy another brand but we wanted to match and the sizes were off, so we spent another $300+ on an LG microwave and are crossing our fingers. The oven I never use because the temp is off. Run away any LG products as your appliance. Horrible idea. Purchased this refrigerator (LG LSXS26326S) February 2016, not even two years old. The ice maker had gone out, no error code. THEN, the entire unit stopped being cold, again - no error code. Have lost everything in both compartments, and been advised from other techs, Good luck. Have called the wonderful customer service now 8 times, and keep getting bounced back and forth between Warranty and Customer Service.Ran the app for the LG fridge that does the sound to diagnose the issue, nothing is wrong with the fridge per the LG app. THEIR OWN PRODUCT IS BEING DIAGNOSED AS NO ISSUES BY THEM! (Yes, the door has to be open to use this app, but thats it). Was told that the unit is still under parts warranty... However by the time a service call will be had, someone out, we are fully expecting multiple calls and nothing to be resolved. Issue is the only LG authorized repair tech is 3-4 weeks out, for there are only TWO (2) in the entire state.Had another tech come out and was told the issue is the sealed system. Everything looks fine, no codes, just not working. This unit is garbage and was, still available with Lowes & Home Depot, for $1400. Dont waste your money on LG. Like every other consumer on this thread, avoid LG. Am now back on hold with customer service for was disconnected when they transferred me from Warranty to Customer Service. Never, ever again.

Took 3 weeks to make an appointment, said computer would not accept, and to call back later. Finally talked to a service man on the phone, told him that I thought it was the pump, he said he thought so to. Shows up next day, yep it’s the pump. (Why not bring one with you)! Got to order one. Be back next week. Pump took 2 weeks to get here. Then another week to get them out to fix it. (Somewhere in the process. I went out and bought a cheaper washer, just to please the wife). The old pump had a straight pin in it, shut it down. Ok, now, after having the washer for over a year, the washer will never just wash the cloths, it stops with a UE error about every time. Took the wife 8 hrs to wash 1 load the other day. Got my service man on the way to try to fix this problem. Let you know how it turns out.

We purchase the LG Dishwasher in 2016 along with a refrigerator. The 29.7 Cu ft refrigerator is great, the dishwasher is good, but the lower rack comes off the rails it runs on and gets sideways in the washer. I purchased the Wt1101cw washer almost two years ago. This could be a great machine if it didnt show UE-uneven-all the time. It takes forever to finish a wash! It doesnt matter if you are doing a small wash or a larger one. I feel that the agitator, located in the bottom of the drum is a poor design and thats why it is uneven. I have had that agitator replaced three weeks ago and now I am having the same symptoms. Repairman returning Monday. When you try to purchase the part it is out of stock-this tells me that I am the not the only one with the problem. There is even a You-Tube video showing how to repair it!! I spent a lot of money on this because of the LG name-they said it has to break four times before they will consider doing something. I have read multiple times in multiple places that people are saying the same things. I really think that this machine is defective. Thanks for listening!

Dont buy the LG High Capacity expensive washer. It doesnt clean your clothes, musty/wet dog smell. It doesnt fill with enough water to wash a hand towel. It calls for less soap, but sometimes the soap doesnt dispense all. Every load gets the UE code, uneven load and you have to open and shuffle clothes so wash time is over an hour and half. Was told by friends to pour vinegar in every load, or add bleach every time you wash, leave the lid open or mold grows in it!So I had LG rep visit and here is what I was told. Do not fill to line as specified, only 2 tablespoons of detergent, no more. You cannot wash a load too large, only a medium, fill clothes only half way. You CANNOT wash large towels, blankets or comforters in these washers. You have to add white vinegar. Leave the top open always or mold will grow. Every month you need to press tub clean and add special cleaning tablets.
