Burners staying on or not turning on intermittently - I called LG explaining my problem that the burnings on 1 and a half year old range either stayed on or would not come on. They told me it was out of warranty and it is my responsibility. I do feel after such a short period of time shouldnt need replacing.

I have an LG Tromm Washer and Dryer. I have only had it for a few years. As others have complained, the washer has a foul smell due to the mold that grows as a result of the water getting trapped in the rubber door seal (poor design/manufacturer defect). Its not like LG did not know about it. Look at all of the complaints. There is definitely negligence on their part at this point. At the very least, there should have been a label put on the machine that warns you not to use it in a small space, which is unrealistic since most laundry rooms are not large. How come this product has not been recalled due to the health hazard? In addition now, I cant find the reason why the dryer does not make any noise (although it does turn on) and the washer wont even turn on! Maybe this is a blessing in disguise to get rid of these machines. Unfortunately, most people are being duped out of a small fortune to buy them without being fully informed of the health hazard. This may need additional legal action. My child now has respiratory problems/asthma and is on medication daily. I have also developed an adult-onset asthma.

MY EXPERIENCE HAD BEEN HORRIBLE! HERES WHAT HAS HAPPENED. Called hhgregg where I purchased refrigerator in March 2016. Leak started August 2016. The phone menu automatically routed my call to LG Customer Service. They said they dont repair damage to home but will repair refrigerator. They made an appointment to send an LG technician in two days. I had to call a water damage company in the meantime because water had leaked through the wall into a hallway and a bedroom. Water was under tiles and was squishing in the carpet. The LG technician finally came. The refrigerator was moved from its niche in kitchen. The technician discovered the problem. He said it was a defective valve in the ice maker. He said theyre (LG) going to hate this but its on us (LG). Called customer service again. Customer service representative, finally agreed to give us a claim number and gave us a number for Product Liability. I kept calling that number but no one ever answered and no one returned my calls. I finally got another number from customer service rep. Bottom line is the estimate to repair and restore is around $6225. They said they will pay $4224. I cannot get my home repaired for that amount. My refrigerator is still sitting in the middle of the breakfast area and the ice maker cannot be hooked until the repairs are made to my house. The defective refrigerator caused all the damage and LG should pay the full cost of the restoration. The Product Liability department has been very disrespectful and rude to me, a customer who purchased one of their products. Does anyone know who I should call at LG to resolve this issue.

Constantly is out of balance when it really isnt. Ive stood there watching it for half an hour. Fills up with water and drains trying to balance several times in a wash. Wastes water trying to balance. Have reloaded clothes to help but to no avail. 60-minute wash takes 4 hours, only if you constantly reset it. My washer is in garage, therefore cant always hear buzzer. Instead of getting 3 loads per day washed, maybe only 1.

The large LG refrigerator is simply terrific! It has 2 freezer drawers on the bottom and a really large refrigerator section with a giant pizza-width meat drawer. We chose the stainless steel finish and, admittedly, it is hard to clean but looks so nice when you polish it. The top double doors have just the right storage on the inside. The 3 fruit/veg. containers are nice and big. In the freezer I have unplugged the ice maker, because it took up too much room and simply leave an ice tray across one side of the top section divider. It allows for sections of food to be stored without being in a jumble. It is a very large and tall fridge and I didnt mind doing without the cupboard section that usually is hung above. I found 3 woven baskets that simply sit on top and look very nice there.

My refrigerator is 5 years old (LFX28978ST/02). Purchased with every appliance as we were moving into a new home. Already went through one issue shortly after purchasing the fridge with the ice maker. They made it right, but the LG certified technicians had to come back multiple times because they really didnt know what they were doing. Now the latest adventure. Compressor went about a month and a half ago. Turns out the compressor has a 10 year warranty. Great, right? Not so much. Getting this problem resolved has been an absolute nightmare. After doing what they wanted me to (having a repairman come out), I found out labor was not included on the compressor. Fine. I found a very reputable company to inspect and agree to do the repair. Unfortunately, its a half a days work so talking $300-$400 just for labor. Decided to have it fixed rather than buy a new fridge.1st call - said I would have a response in 24 hours. 2nd call - said no, timing to hear something back is 24-48 hours. 3rd call - said no, timing is 3 days. 4th call - said no, timing is 3-5 days. I verified if the 5th day was guaranteed (in this case Friday). 5th call - said no, the day I called didnt count so need to wait until Monday. 6th call - show they called my repairman the day I called. (This would prove to be a trend-lies). 7th call - they called and left a VM to my repairman but left a wrong number to call back. Called back to get the number myself. They didnt have the number. They called my repairman (I dont know why - the customer service rep had no info for us) and he told them the same thing. Put in a request on his computer for service center to call my repairman back. 8th call - said they showed they sent out an e-mail with the info to my repairman (they did not).9th call - my repair man was on vacation so could not confirm anything until he returned. Heard nothing. Supposedly putting in their system to call him again. Nothing. 10th call - immediately asked for a supervisor. Transferred me to someone in the states (Huntsville, AL). She told me the other calls go to the Philippines and that the computer showed someone calling him the day I lodged the complaint (lie). Also told me my previous Confirmation/ID# (or whatever they call it) had been closed. Great! She opened a new number. This was Thursday the 17th. Told me my repairman would hear something in 5 business days and there was no way to expedite because there were so many people in front of me. Thursday should count as day one since I called in the morning. Nothing.11th call - Called back on Friday the 25th. Asked for a supervisor. This time did not get transferred to the states.I assume still the Philippines. Told me the computer showed they called my repair man the day I called the last supervisor. (At this point, I feel like they do this in their system in case they get sued so they can say... Look, we called him. He didnt answer. All lies) Promised someone would call my repair man in 30 minutes and an e-mail would follow. Nothing. 12th call - Called Monday the 28th (today). Again asked for a supervisor. Again, Philippines. Joe promised he would have my issue resolved and would not leave until it was. After missing 41 minutes of work, hung up on me. I guess the moral is, dont buy an LG anything! My stoves electronics are also starting to fail as well. They want you to give in so they dont have to ship a compressor that will probably fail again anyway, but Im not giving up. Back to the phone...

December 15 - I took delivery the LG gas range, opened it as the delivery truck was leaving (they did not install it) and I noticed the interior glass was not seated properly and had a small crack. The delivery truck had just pulled away, so sending it back at that moment wasnt an obvious option. I immediately called Home Depot, who gave me the LG customer service number. In my first call to LG, they immediately offered me a compensation check to have a repairman fix it. I agreed to this. Then LG transferred me to their parts and repair dept. The person in parts and repair said it couldnt be repaired, because it was not installed yet, even though it is just the oven door. At this point LG customer service number was closed for the day.December 16 - I called Home Depot service back first to get help. They personally called LG and had a ticket created in the LG system for replacement instead. They said in about three days I would get a call to schedule the new range delivery. December 21 - I hadnt heard from LG yet, so I called them. They said a manager there had cancelled my replacement ticket without calling me to let me know(!), because I had been issued a damages check, and I could no longer get a replacement. I explained that LG Parts and Service told me I could not have it repaired, because it wasnt installed. LG said they would send an independent technician out and they would decide whether it can be repaired without installation. December 26 - Technician is no call, no show.December 27 - Technician comes out, tells me LG will probably just issue a replacement, he has to submit a claim. He will call me in about 3 hours with an answer. I dont know what this means for the damages check they were going to issue? December 29 - I start calling the repair company back for an answer. I talk to someone there 1-2 times a day thereafter, each time they say they dont have an answer, but will in a few hours. January 5 - I give up, the appliance repair service isnt calling me back. I call LG, say I dont think a claim was ever submitted on the oven door. The notes in the system at LG now seem to indicate I was in the process of a replacement, rather than repair? NOW, three weeks later, they say a replacement *can* be done (I am not confident I will receive the damages check anyhow). I am fed up, I tell them I want that damages check at this point, so they will have to find another company to repair it.They transferred me to LG parts and service. I asked parts and service if they can simply send me a new oven door, and I will send the old door back? There are two metal clips that hold the door on, you just flip them up and slide it out, I believe its designed this way so you can take the door off to clean it. They will not let me handle this. I am given the name and number for a new repair company, and told they will be in contact with me ASAP. The new repair company hasnt contacted me yet, and isnt answering their phone right now. Both repair companies have very low ratings online, complaints through the BBB as well - though with something this simple, I dont really care - as long as they can repair it quickly. That doesnt appear to be a possibility. The LG repair and service escalated my request, which was supposed to lead to a callback from an executive team within 48 hours. They never called back.January 8 - The Twitter account for LG helps me in a direct message, which was more effective than any phone call I placed. They arranged an LG employee technician in my area to repair the oven door. The Twitter account person said it was requested the parts be pre-ordered, repair date is January 15. January 14 - I installed the oven in preparation for arrival of my new oven door parts. January 15 - The LG technician calls and says we have to reschedule because of a back injury. 1/19 was my new date he gave me... But then I asked if he pre-ordered parts. They were not pre-ordered. The technician checked stock in your system for the door glass. There is no stock available on the door glass, he doesnt know if there WILL be stock on the door glass in the near future, but he has put the order in now. He said to check back in two days for a status whether there will be glass.I made a big mistake installing the oven beforehand. I followed up with the Twitter account person, who was helpful again, but said the system indicates he has not ordered the glass yet. January 17 - The second outside repair shop, which I never was able to get ahold of, showed up at my house while no one was home, called me and said they were there to fix the range! They said LG (India call center, parts and repair) set up the appointment date and time. No one from LG called me about there being an appointment scheduled. I told them I have a factory tech already scheduled, they didnt have parts to fix it anyways.January 19 - When I check the online status, the technician still has me listed as a scheduled repair today. However, the status of the parts are still back ordered days later. How are there not parts available? 5 weeks as of today. Update: spoke to tech, parts are back ordered until at least the end of February. If the parts and service had told me this 5 weeks ago, the first time I spoke with them, I wouldve demanded a new oven. I assume I will be able to get a new oven, has not happened yet though.

Still under warranty my refrigerator stopped working after five months. Ive had repair people at my house eight times now in a four month period. Today the repair person walked into my house without knocking or ringing the doorbell. My dog stopped him about 5 feet from the front entrance way. The service call for today was for the repair person to tell me only that the part is on order. Again LG wasted my time. I asked the repair person, Why did you come to my house to tell me this, you couldve called!!! The customer service and the repair people at LG are not trained and do not know how to handle the customers nor does the company know how to stand by their product.I am asking my credit card company to dispute the charge because LG sold me a product that does not work. LG is now lying. Setting appointments without my knowledge. Their documentation is not correct and they say I am canceling my appointment. Executive desk also lies and makes up information and incorrect documentation. One person said that she would send me $150 for my food replacement. Later found out thats no such policy. My refrigerator stopped working December 2016 and it is now beginning of April 2017. My Refrigerator is still broke.

We purchased the LG Smart Drum thinking this was a great investment. It was the worst decision we made. It takes hours to wash one load. It constantly errors with UE no matter what load is in there. Even during the clean tub cycle where they recommend nothing in the washer. We have to constantly reload heavy wet clothes to rebalance eventually have to go directly to the spin cycle and shutting off the water just to get it over with. I am lucky to get two loads of laundry done in one whole damn day.I cant get anything else accomplished because I am babysitting a damn washer. It has caused so much frustration among our entire family because no one can get their laundry done and over in a reasonable amount of time. I am going out this weekend and buying a new washer. It wont be a LG thats for sure. From all the other reviews it appears the washer is a lemon and LG knows it but they dont care. Also, the app they say you can get is not available either. They should be sued for falsely claiming things this washer can do and it doesnt. True balance my butt... this machine is the worst. Buyers beware. You will be sorry.

LG has met my initial expectations. Price was the first reason for purchasing this refrigerator. We loved the fact that the shelving was movable. Lots of space, very nicely organized. Well built. Satisfied my growing family. Great color choices. Nicely constructed. Very happy with the service we received. More freezer space needed though. For a growing family its difficult to place frozen foods of different sizes into such a small area such as the freezer. Maybe put more shelving options in the refrigerator.

I bought this set because I liked the look of the stainless steel with a clear coat on top. Unfortunately after 3 years the finish on top of the washer didn’t hold up and had many marks and streaks which is weird because the finish doesnt seem scratched—just has discolorations. There is one setting, Sports wear, that has no features associated with it which seems like a bug. You choose it, and there are zero settings. No temp, speed, spin etc. They are just blank. I do wish I could add the fabric softener setting for every type of wash, but its not available on several. Otherwise it seems to do a good job and has great capacity.

It was available in black and in the style I wanted. The size fit our space perfectly. The price was comparable. Our repairman said it was a reliable brand. I like the upper refrigerator and lower freezer with ice maker. Water dispenser inside the refrigerator instead of in the door so there was extra storage in the door. Sturdiness of drawers was a problem. The drawer to the lunch meat tray broke twice. The door didnt always close well even though it appeared closed at the time. Freezer trays could be divided more.

When I shopped at Lowe’s for appliances, I heard about LG Refrigerators and I ended up selecting it. I’m not really happy with it. It wasn’t cooling and I lost all my food in the freezer. The technician came out and said that he fixed it but then, it got even worse. It went through a lot of repairs and a whole lot of different parts had to be ordered and replaced on it. There was a lot of technicians coming out here to fix it and delays with getting parts. So, it has not been a good experience for me. I’ve been talking to LG as well as the technician too. They had a contractor come out and he had to make two visits to get it repaired. Right now, it’s working, but I don’t know for how long. I haven’t even had it three years and this happened. I don’t think I’ll buy another LG refrigerator.

I bought my refrigerator in November of 2012. It worked fine until it broke down a couple of weeks ago. I call LG the parts is under warranty and they referred me to one of their service tech. Long story short the tech wanted to charge 850.00 labor, LG had said 200 to 250 for labor on their website. I call back LG and told them about the misleading information on their website. 850.00 on a 4 years old refrigerator I can get a new and better brand for 1300.00. I hate LG.

I just purchased a LG dishwasher LDP6797BB from Home Depot on 10/9/17, it was delivered on 10/17. We installed it ourselves (no issues there). Once we had the dishwasher all installed and confirmed no leaks, I went to run the dishwasher through a full cycle (as recommended). I powered on the machine only to get this code L2, I pulled the book out to find out this code means, luckily (according to the book) this is not an error it is a Rinse Agent code... However, the book does not tell you how to clear this code. So I called LG customer service, I was told I had to reset the machine at the circuit breaker. OK so I do that, machine is reset, machine works (thank God). When the cycle completes, I load the dishwasher with dishes and power on the machine... L2 AGAIN, reset AGAIN, did not work, reset breaker again. I have done this 1 MILLION TIMES in a week (and yes there is rinse agent in the machine). I have called LG, they are no help. They have no techs on staff that you can speak to, I know this is an easy fix, but they insist on sending a tech to my home. I WILL NEVER EVER BUY LG AGAIN... Fingers crossed that they can fix this once and for all.

We bought a new LG French door refrigerator model LFX28978ST from Sears. The refrigerator is under warranty - 7 year for sealed system and 10 yr linear compressor. We had enjoyed the refrigerator until it stopped generating any cool air in Jun 2016. We had contacted LG support, and LG technician came out 6 times to fix the same cooling issue. Every time the fix only lasted 2 days to maximum 10 days. The LG technician had been telling us the cooling issue is not fixable; however, LG corporate insisted its fixable. LG corporate also said they will continue to fix the issue with no consideration on the number of attempts! Anyone with common sense agrees 6 attempts is more than enough to prove its not fixable! When we suggested there is lemon law to protect consumers from repeated same issue; LG corporate said the law does not apply to appliance. LG corporation does not care about customer satisfaction and does not honor their written warranty. Its unfair for consumers to take this nonsense from big corporation. Where is accountability? Never buy LG again.

DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT, BUY LG!! We purchased an LG French Door Refrigerator in July 2014. Model #LFXS30766S/02. In June of 2017, the fridge stopped working, circuit board was replaced. Worked until August of 2018, repairman just left, after diagnosing that it has a sealed system failure and it would cost $1200.00-$1500.00 to fix. This fridge, mind you, cost $2300.00!! We have lost all the food in it and are presently living out of a cooler and a small dorm-type fridge to tide us over. I wish that I had done more research before we bought this lemon! We named it Voldemort, because its evil! Do yourself a favor-do not buy anything LG! Evidently, they dont care about their customers or making a good product. Life is Good?? Not if you have the misfortune to own an LG product-especially a fridge!!

Ice develops under the freezer part of this refrigerator (LFX28968ST) which is 4 years old. I have to chip the ice out. My sister also has a LG french door refrigerator that is 2 years older. She also has this problem. When calling LG to see if I could have my tech fix it I was told the only solution was to have a certified LG repair person come to my home. Customer service at LG had no idea what I was talking about. In a search online I found how to fix the issue and also read this is a common issue with LG french door refrigerators. $1,200 estimate from an authorized LG repair person made me rethink buying another LG product. I will fix it myself and do more research on companies that stand behind their products.

On 10/2008, I purchased an LG LRE30453ST/01 ceramic glass top electric range from Home Depot. On 7/2009, my husband instructed my oldest son to turn on the stove in preparation of us being 5 minutes away. He placed a pot on the stove on the largest eye and set the stove for 3.5 with a little grease inside the pan. My son said that as soon as he did what was instructed and sat down on the couch when he noticed immediate smoke coming from the pot. He looked inside the pan and noticed a ring of fire inside the pan that began to escalate fairly quickly and evacuated himself and my youngest daughter out of the home for their protection. Within five minutes of giving him these instructions we received a call back from him stating that the kitchen was on fire. Fire department came but the fire self-extinguished itself before they were able to take action. The fire caused 8k worth of damage with us paying a 1K deductible. It damaged the cabinets above the stove, the microwave above the stone, and the stove itself which sustained the most damage. The pot was actually not destroyed, but the stove was. The insurance company had no clue how this escalated so quickly so therefore the pot had masked the true natural cause of the fire which was the stove itself. The stove was replaced with the exact same model stove in 2009 and in 4/2014, while I was cooking on the largest eye once again with a cast iron skillet, the bottom of the skillet began to smoke from underneath set with a temperature of 3.5. I noticed the extreme heat coming from the largest eye and attempted to turn it off with no response from the stove to reduce the heat even though the stove read H5 which means a warm status. The heat was so extreme that the other eyes started to read as H5 and they werent even on. The extreme heat from the largest eye also prompted the microwave vent to come on by itself. My kids and myself started to get nervous and tried to power down the stove by turning off the circuit breaker with no response so we had to unplug the stove from the wall. We waited about 5 minutes and attempted to replug the stove and the largest eye came on immediately, flashing red several times, sending out extreme heat so we decided to keep it unplugged. I called LG the next day to find out that a recall was issued in 2012 for my model number. I was completely taken back. The recall stated The burners on the electric ranges can fail to turn off after being switched off or the temperature setting can increase unexpectedly during use, posing burn and fire hazards to consumers. What else do you need? I asked why I was not notified and they said it was on TV and because I did not register the product, I didnt get notified by mail. Im a working professional mom of three, really! I cant believe they said that. They offered to repair the stove I currently have in my home and offered apologies for the fire in 2009. Is there no recourse or responsibility of the manufacturer for damages that occurred to homeowners before the recall. How can this be right. LG is claiming statute of limitations is 3 years but what about the fact that a recall was not issued until 2012. How was my insurance supposed to know that their product was defective when there was no recall in place. How is the consumer supposed to be protected in a case like this. Im not asking for the 8k that my insurance paid out but at least take responsibility for the deductible I had to pay for your fire hazardous product I placed in my home that nearly killed my kids. How can the statute of limitations be set for 3 years when the defect is not found until the recall is issued? PS: I have documentation of everything.

No response from LG even after unknowledgeable repair visit, and Home Depot (Seller) will not return calls. Worst washer on the marked, for sure.

We bought a new LG kitchen pkg when we built our home. We have had nothing but trouble with our stove and LG has not stepped up to make it safe. One burner has gone out numerous times pushing propane in our home. Weve spent hours on this issue and now the one burner doesnt work. Very disappointed in this stove and LG as a company.

Update on 12/07/2019: I wrote on here about a LG REFRIGERATOR that failed in 4 years. LG responded and asked me to send private message and they would help. I was pretty impressed but no one has contacted me in 5 days. Meanwhile I am without a fridge. I guess to them not a big deal but I would think the average reviewer would understand the impact and urgency of being without. I also have not got contacted about someone coming out to repair. Appt canceled and after 5 days no idea on status. LG, UNEXPECTEDLY LOSING A FRIDGE IS A HUGE PROBLEM FOR A FAMILY. If you want follow on business, act with some sense of urgency to support your products. Week 1 without a refrigerator.Original Review: I bought an LG refrigerator 4 years ago and experienced a failure day after Thanksgiving. Got stuck on hold for over 30 minutes first day but got a hold of LG pretty quickly on Monday morning. They have a known compressor issue. They did offer to have someone come out. Would replace compressor if that is issue but there are no service folks near me even though I live in Bloomington INDIANA with a population of about 50000 to 80000 [when students are here). Best Buy sold me the fridge and they could care less. Lesson learned. So I will have to wait another 3-5 business days to even talk about an appointment. Meanwhile no fridge. So I will call it a loss. No more appliances from Best buy and no more LG products. But an expensive, inconvenient lesson unfortunately. It might have gotten resolved faster if I lived in a metropolitan area. I expect much more than 4 years from a refrigerator and I would not expect to need to pay $300 for an extended warranty. I paid $1399 on a Black Friday deal. The fridge was not loud, worked ok until it failed, ice maker wasnt great and ice got stuck in chute often.

I have been fighting with LG over this French Door refrigerator with its freezer drawer glides breaking three times in three years. Yesterday, the drawer fell completely to pieces and now my icemaker is not working consistently. Ice is building up inside the walls (has been for two years). The freezer doesnt freeze. The list goes on and on. Not only have I been forced to purchase the defective parts three times, the parts are not in stock. If there is no recall or problem with the part, why the shortage? I have gotten nowhere with LG including the supervisors. I believe there is cause for a class action suit to be brought against them over this as there are many others having the same issues. Yet, LG refuses to make good on their product. Today alone, I have found no less than 1,000 others who are also having these same issues. That was with just one Google search. I am certain this product is a manufacturer defective product and needs to be removed from the market. I will never own another LG product again nor purchase another item from Best Buy.

The way our LG products do not last even under warranty you won’t get them fixed. Good luck.

Fire hazard, the knobs are plastic and strip easily, causing them to turn on by themselves if someone walks by the stove and bumps into it. I have had my house fill with gas 3 times in the past 3 years and I have had the knobs replaced 3 times. One day my entire family is going to die in this house because of this stove if they do not create a better knob as this problem shall continue. No integrity to the knobs, they look and feel like good quality, but are neither functional nor safe. I am disappointed to find that inside the knob hole is plastic (not good quality). After just over a year (warranty expired, of course), two of the knobs cracked inside the holes and will no longer turn the burners on correctly. Within the first year of owning a new LG gas range, the 5-burner control knobs were breaking where the knob slides onto the shaft of the gas control mechanism. I tried repairing it myself and it worked for a while, but now they are so bad they need replacing. Why can it not be made of metal? This simple solution would solve the problem. While searching various parts replacement sites, the knobs are over $70.00 each to replace, 5 x 70 = $350.00 for knobs? Is this customer service and support after the sale? Money pit stove waiting to kill my family.

Initially, I had a pretty old top loader washing machine 16 years old (NOT LG) and it worked perfectly - actually loved it and all of my clothes came out clean and perfect! My husband thought hed surprise me with a VERY EXPENSIVE, brand new $2,500 LG front loader washing machine and dryer from Best Buy. I didnt even want it because our older set was fantastic! In any case, heres where all of the problems started. I should sue LG just for all the fights and yelling I did to my husband (ha ha) for this piece of CRA-!!! Now all of the problems. Immediately, everything smelled like mold, especially the towels (even though, we did the bleach wash as suggested and left the doors opened), SO MANY RUINED CLOTHES (almost every day our clothes got holes and rips) - I threw away about 5 pieces of clothing a week & it actually became a joke of everyday showing and telling my husband about another item I have to throw out because of the stupid washing machine. Also, even though, I dont use bleach when I wash, the lame bleach cleaning cycles later ended up leaving horrible bleach marks on our clothes. We owned the LG washing machine and dryer for about 1 year and I left it when we moved to our new home, my headaches are now over. Now I have a very old top loader washing machine (NOT LG) and my clothes get clean, no more holes, stains or moldy smells - I love it! Also, no more yelling at my husband :o))) Side note: We also had a LG flat screen TV that we purchased from Costco - it completely died after a few years. What have I learned: NEVER BUY LG PRODUCTS - PIECES OF JUNK!

Love the door compartment with Interior lighting and the outside window. Also love the pullout freezer on bottom with side by side refrigeration on top. Seems roomier than others with four drawers and multiple shelves. Shelf configuration options are helpful, and this LG seems more convenient for use on a daily basis. The stainless does show dirt or spots on the exterior, but it cleans easily with stainless cleaner. The beeper that sounds when door is inadvertently left open is also a plus. Ice maker works pretty well w/ crushed and cubed options. Have not used all the bells and whistles as a “Smartfrig,” but very satisfied overall.

The plastic wash drum which surrounds the stainless steel wash bowl is easily pierced by Australian fifty-cent piece. We purchased a counter-depth LG French Door unit from Lowes about 5 years ago with a 3-year service agreement. Because LG doesnt make as many counter depth compared to standard depth, it cost more (~$3000). Cosmetically and storage-wise, we were quite happy with it, but early in the first year we noticed that ice was building up behind the left bottom storage drawer. Lowes repairman replaced the entire rear fan/control unit, explaining that if we didnt have the service contract it would have cost us about $500.Unfortunately 2-more service calls by 2 different organizations were required in the first 3-years --- all for the same ice problem! We then purchased a 1-year extension for the service agreement because it was obvious that our $3000 fridge had a problem no one seemed to be able to fix. We were correct, because we had more ice in that year.Numerous calls and emails to LG and Lowes during these 5-years got us little more than asking for more and more details about previous repairs. They also referred us to someone to repair it. They all tried, replacing more pieces and parts. Finally, a few months ago when ice again recurred we spent $90 for another LG expert to review our issue. They told us LG had issued some sort of bulletin about this problem, and for another $500 for the part, plus labor, they could fix it. At this point we had already spent at least $750 and dozens of hours trying to fix a $3000 fridge and had no confidence anyone could repair it properly, so this afternoon our new Frigidaire will be installed and the LG hauled away; and Im writing this review. I called back only to find out that I need to either have an LG certified appliance repair shop fix it, or requested an extended warranty from LG. The temperature was still keeping it cool, but it wasnt working. Another problem I had was the submission. Some guy there did not know the rule and he was telling me that it was just the refrigerator, and if the freezer was still working, that it was not covered under the warranty. So, when I was talking to my warranty people, they said, No. Theyre supposed to cover it. But after back and forth for like two weeks I finally spoke to somebody that know what they were doing and then, they got the parts sent out. That contractor repaired it, and he left me his number in case I had any issues. But when I need ice, my refrigerator doesnt make enough ice for me. I was unhappy that it broke down. I must agree with the reviews Ive read on this site. I purchased my LG washer and dryer in June of 2016. If the fact that it takes forever to clean my laundry which doesnt come out clean, it produces a terrible smell! At the floor level there is a drain and filter which instructions advise to clean monthly. It is hard for me, at 70 yo, to get down on the floor on my belly to clean this contraption, but it must be done. Draining the nasty water from this little hose (about the size of a pencil) is more than a notion. I agree with many others that for what I paid for this machine, I should have gotten a better product. I will never purchase another appliance with the LG label. Any others have experience with this smelly filtration system???

LG True Balance washing machine - We purchased this machine brand new and was told it was top of the line in terms of quality and capacity. It was also at the top end of pricing. We have been dissatisfied in every way. It takes hours to complete a wash cycle and the only chance you stand of getting through a wash cycle without machine stopping every 10 minutes and showing an error code is if you wash like items, ie only towels or only jeans... and then you still often times have to reposition at least once. Many times I cant get the load to finish and have had to remove and wring out by hand soaked and dripping items from machine. We have balanced it every way possible and done all recommended troubleshooting. Techs say just wash like items... not realistic to wash that many separate loads. Would love to hear if anyone has figured out how to fix this issue.

I bought an LG French door Refer with Bottom freezer (model # LFX25960ST). Interior light stayed on, melting the plastic cover. I woke at 06:00AM on 11/19/2011 to the odor of burning plastic. I am a firefighter for 30 years, so I knew what I was smelling. It would not have been much longer before flames would have appeared. I have working smoke detectors in the house, so it may not have been tragic, with regard to loss of life, though the fire damage could have been very costly. After reading so many common instances, I will do my best to spread awareness, starting with the 3,000 active and retired members of the Fire Department I work for. I will be looking for information on recall, or class action suit. Refrigerator is stocked with Thanksgiving food, purchased yesterday. Now, I can not trust the food, and must repurchase. Luckily, I caught this when I woke up this morning. It would not have been long before this started a fire.

Wednesday 25th of May my refrigerator stopped working. Both refrigerator and freezer part. I called the 800 number on owners manual that came with the refrigerator and was told I had to either pay over $200 or $399 for 1 year extra insurance because they could not find my registration card and could not tell me when I bought it. So I paid the $399 thinking someone would come out and look at the fridge. I was informed that no one could come until the following Wednesday because it was a holiday weekend. The repairman came on Tuesday and informed my husband that the freon system was not properly cleaned before installation causing the freon to leak or evaporate from the system, causing the entire coolant system to malfunction. According the repairman this was done during the assembly process. He had to order a part and would take a few days to get. We waited a week and had to call LG back to get the repairmans number and find out what was taking so long. We were informed that the part is on back order and will not be available until after the 15th of June. At no time did the repairman call and inform us of this development. I have two small children in my home and cannot keep fresh foods available for them. I will not recommend an LG appliance to anyone. The customer service sucks and the phone center could give a damn. They could not tell me when we purchased the refrigerator but when my husband called they told him it was purchased in December 2014. This will be 18+/- days without a refrigerator and the weather so far has been in the high 80s.

We bought an expensive $2000+ LG French door refrigerator from Pacific Sales. 16 months later refrigerator stopped cooling and freezing. LG customer service after several attempts to diagnostic and instructions to reply in the refrigerator and wait 24 hrs they finally said to call a certified LG 3rd party. They said this is a common well known defect. Compressor may be covered by LG parts, but back ordered for weeks and labor would be 700.00 and no guarantee it would last more than 1-2 yrs. Called Pacific Sales to see if they can help us resolve issue or help us good a good deal on a new refrigerator. Called twice. They said the manager would call but they never called back and were useless. Don’t back or service their sales. We gave up and bought a new refrigerator from Sears with a 5 yr warranty to be safe. Lesson —- DO NOT BUY AN LG REFRIGERATOR. There is a class action lawsuit against them. They NEED TO ACCEPT THE PROBLEM AND compensate the people that have been taken advantage of with suboptimal technology parts and service and support from all levels. So irresponsible and careless. Embarrassing. LG will eventually go out of business with that record.

This review of LG washers is more a review of LG customer service and a war
This review of LG washers is more a review of LG customer service and a warning to prospective customers. I have owned my LG washer for about three years now. It has True Balance, a feature that consumes water in an attempt to balance the load. The washer is absolutely level. However it rarely completes a load because True Balance is unable to get the load balanced enough to get through the spin cycle. So I have to turn the water off. Balance it by hand. Then maybe it will get through the cycle. Often the items are too soaked to put in the 30-year old Kenmore dryer. So I have to hang them.My water bill has increased 25% since getting the washer. Have complained to LG. Initially they told me to level the washer. Now they just ignore me. Apparently because I (a person who has tested at a mechanical level in the upper 2% of the population) am unable to level a washer. I was however able to rebuild the Kenmore Dryer twice to keep that running. Thats not a recommendation of Kenmore because Kenmore isnt Kenmore anymore.

My two thousand dollar refrigerator did not have one (the owners manual clearly states one should come with unit). But after spending more than a half hour with their customer service I still have no plug, and now can look forward to wasting even more time with Home Depot, trying to get something that should have come with the unit. If LG cant handle a problem over a 50 cent plug, think how they will react to a real problem. I owned retail stores before retiring, and would have fired any employee that handled a problem like this.

I will NEVER purchase a LG product. My sister purchased a brand new refrigerator and it stopped working properly after 2 weeks. Around week two she started getting an error code on the freezer control panel and the door alarm started ringing even when the fridge and freezer were closed. She contacted LG and they promised to send out a technician. The first technician came out could not fix the issue and said the door had to be replaced. She waited another two weeks for the door to arrive. The tech came back out to replace the door. Within 2 hours of the technician leaving, the error code returned. She contacted LG once again and a tech was sent out. He said another part needed to be ordered, a month went by before the part arrived. After receiving the part she had to call LG once again and was promised the tech would return. That never happened. She has scheduled two appointments since then and the technician has failed to show. This has been dragging on for three months and the issue still is not resolved. The customer service reps in the warranty departments have poor dispositions and the bottom line is she spent over $1500 for a refrigerator that stopped working properly after 2 weeks. I dont understand why LG has not fixed or replaced the refrigerator. Why is it so hard to get something to simply do what you paid for it to do? LG why have you not resolved the issue? Buyers beware, because this surely could be you.

My LG refrigerator broke down over a week ago after just 18 months. I paid over $3,500 for it. I have been trying to have my case reviewed by LG for over a week now but they keep rejecting my proof of purchase even though on top of the original receipt and invoice, the Home Depot store where I purchased it from, issued an official proof of purchase letter. I spent over $7,200 on all LG appliances and I am not happy with any of them. The display on the stove broke down in the first week I had it. The washer keeps stalling when I run certain programs. The dryer routinely stops with an error message that the duct is blocked (which is bogus, we checked it on many occasions and there is no obstruction) and the dishwasher does not completely dry the dishes even in extra dry mode. I have never before written a negative review but this company does not deserve to be in business. They do not stand by their product and use the annoying and false slogan Life is Good. Good for them maybe. Not for the customer. Their customer service is a nightmare. All calls are answered by representatives who serve as a layer of protection so you cannot actually get through to anyone who is a decision maker. If you are considering a purchase of an appliance, please stay away from the LG brand!!! Worst ever. I owned a Samsung fridge before and it worked like a dream and was nicely designed. I kick myself in the rear end for not sticking with my gut when I made the decision to purchase the LG junk brand.

Now the seals seem to be breaking. I called a local appliance repair store and was told that I have to go through LGs repair because no one else can get the parts. Nice scam LG. I will never buy another one!

I have an LG front load dryer (model DLEX3857W). The original dryer lint filter warped, I guess from the heat of the dryer? It would not sit flat, which caused clothes to get caught on the filter, mostly clothes with thin straps, such as camisoles, etc. However, on one cycle, a sleeveless nightgown was caught, which cracked the corner of the filter, as well as a piece of the filter guide. I purchased a new LG lint filter and replaced the broken one, but it never would sit flat where the corner of the guide was rough. Ive had 5 camisoles, 3 nightgowns, and now a fitted sheet destroyed due to being torn when becoming caught and twisting around the raised part of the filter. The material gets wound so tightly that the piece caught just tears off.I made a complaint on the LG website blog, but my entry was declined because I failed to meet posting requirements - I cant figure out what didnt meet, except that the question I asked was based on the fact that I had read several blogs where Kenmores version of the same dryer has had a recall of the due to the same problem, and I asked if there was an LG plan to recall. I have also emailed LG directly, with no response as of yet. There are MULTIPLE complaints online on different blogs, which is where I found a link recommending replacement of all 3 parts - the lint filter, filter guide, and lint filter cover. I found all the parts on Amazon, with more complaints of the same issue. Why should I have to spend $60 for parts that appear to have been a defect from the beginning.

We purchased this product from a big box store around 2007. The ice maker failed after 4 years and flooded our kitchen. I was disappointed in LGs response, and elected to not replace the icemaker due to out of pocket cost and fear of future failure. I figured Id keep the refrigerator anyway, since it was relatively expensive. This past weekend, I went into the kitchen in the morning and smelled burning plastic. I opened the fridge only to find that the temperature control and lights had melted to the point of dropping from the ceiling of the fridge. It was hot inside the fridge to the point where the butter had melted and dripped out of the compartment and down the door. There were visible scorch/melting marks on the light compartment. I think if I had not been home this weekend, it would likely have caught fire. I think this fridge is a fire hazard, and caution anyone with this unit.Being a consumer who doesnt want to waste money, I wanted to rig the machine so that its not a total waste. I screwed the control panel back into the ceiling, and replaced the bulbs with low wattage (and low temperature) LED lights. It seems to be okay for now. I will be replacing this fridge in the near future, and will not buy another LG product.

We purchased a $2700 LFX33975ST piece of junk in 2014. The first repair for an error code resulted in a non-working fridge for 3 months because the part was on back-order and cost us over $500 to repair. Three months later the freezer is working but the fridge will not cool below 46 degrees. The repair shop spent over 90 minutes on the phone with an LG technician discussing possible solutions. 1 - Replace the main motherboard ($200) plus installation. 2 - Replace the thermistor. The technician did not recommend any of those solutions because there is some underlying issue with ALL of these refrigerators that they are not telling us. I have checked the fan (working), the fuse on the circuit board (good), and the compressor (working). Ultimately, the suggestion from BOTH LG and my repair shop BUY A NEW FRIDGE BUT NOT LG or SAMSUNG.

I have had the LG WT4870CT top load washer that I purchased exactly two years ago. I noticed rust around the bleach dispenser so I notified LG and let them know about the problem. When I finally got the proof of purchase to them they told me that I did not wipe the area properly. The rust is coming from under the bleach dispenser, leaking through to the top. I will need to hire someone to get to the area under the dispenser so I can take a picture of the problem. If I do it myself they might say they will not guarantee something that was not professionally repaired. It is very frustrating.

This is a joke. Easy Clean does not work. I have just used the oven once to make a prime rib and have tried the Easy Clean twice without it doing a cleaning. I had to literally get the door off and side for two trying to get the splattering cleaned and still have not gotten the desired effect. The top of the range is another problem. It has small pits, a mesh-like top heating surface that makes cleaning another difficult task. I called LG and might have just saved my breath.

DO NOT BUY LG!!! We purchased an LG French door refrigerator in early 2016. This was a $2500.00 model but we thought we were getting a quality product. The cooling system completely died in Dec. of 2018. Less than 2 years out of this refrigerator! We immediately called LG for service. 3 weeks later and 5 canceled service appointments later we have yet to see a repair technician or have any resolution to this matter. I have spent countless hours on the phone with both LG and their service company AE. Both have given me endless runaround and not been able to tell me why all of our appointments were canceled nor find a technician to service us. BUY ANYTHING BUT LG. HORRIBLE PRODUCT. HORRIFIC CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!

I like the freezer, fridge, multiple shelves, the shelves slide out to be cleaned and so do the drawers. There are four drawers including a cheese drawer specifically. I would put an ice maker in it. Also I would put a smart system into it to tell you when youve left the fridge open or tell you when its not working correctly and I would include freezer trays with purchase and water filter along with a digital thermostat. It has met expectations. I was very happy with value and price overall. This fridge is amazing and meets all my needs and or wants but if I had to choose one additional brand over LG itd be Samsung for sure.

Now its broken for a 3rd time in less than 3 years and LG will not stand by their machine. Now they are saying since I was not the original owner. They wont help even though the machine was never used prior to my purchase. Also their customer service people based in Alabama are extremely rude and unhelpful. The repairman showed up Tuesday and now has to order parts. These parts are a clutch and PC board. Lowes and LG has no idea when the repair company will receive the parts. We have now been without a washing machine for over 2 weeks. I will not buy another LG product nor do business at Lowes unless it is an emergency. Purchased a model LFXS30766S and paid a lot of money for it. Purchased in 2014 and it died in 2020. Called three places before I could even find a person to come out and look at an LG. Technician with 35 years experience came out and said the compressor is shot. Not drawing the required amps. Called LG and they said it is out of warranty but they cover the compressor for 10 years so not to worry. They gave me a work order number and said the compressor and labor would be covered and to call back in 24-48 hours to see if the repair is approved. I called back in after 48 hours and the lady told me my claim number was not correct, all my information was there but not my name.I was told again not to worry and someone would be calling me back and I confirmed with her that my work order number was valid. I waited one week and when I called back the lady told me again that my work order number was not correct. She told me that she can see where I called but my fridge is out of warranty so they need to reach out to the place that looked at it to see if they will do the repair but I will be responsible for the labor. She asked for the name and email for the repair place and I gave it to her. The repair place with 35 years experience told me not to waste my money trying fix an LG. Its just going to break again and again. He told me to suck it up and put my money towards a better product. They will not perform the repair because of the POOR quality of LG. Now the lady gives me a number of a place that is 1.35 hours away (Rochester. I live in Buffalo) to set up for the repair. I guess that the fact that no one within a 1.35 hour radius of a major metropolitan area will touch an LG shows how horrible their products are and how bad they treat their customers. Called the repair place they gave me and Im still waiting for a call back. I run a large worldwide company and I will make sure I let everyone I know understand my exhausting and terrible experience.

I have been an LG customer for very long with almost all appliances being from LG. However my dishwasher problem has disappointed me greatly. I have an dishwasher model D1452WF which is my 2nd LG dishwasher over a period of 15 years. However after 4 years of using D1452WF, I noticed start of rusting of both the upper and lower racks/trays. I thought it was just a minor issue and continued using. But now after one more year, I have noticed that the rust has increased. The spares racks cost around US$215. I am really disappointed. What is the use of a 10 year motor warranty when the inside trays start rusting much earlier. I use salt regularly to soften the water. I have no other problems with the machine. So there is no point in buying such an equipment unless they make reliable parts as well.

My LG refrigerator quit around Feb. 14. The repairman came on Feb. 17 and said he would order a new board and compressor. It is now March 11 and I am still waiting. I called the Brick customer service and they do seem to want to help but nothing comes of it. I have a serious heart condition and am finding it even harder since I do not feel well enough to go out to get food most of the time. The customer service did not call back and kept me waiting all day yesterday so I did not get to go out and get some food. It is getting warmer outside so my new outdoor storage is no longer working either and the remaining food is going bad. My cats can attest to that and refuse to eat the remaining steak. I am having to eat food that causes me to get terrible attacks of angina. This whole episode is like something out of a nightmare.I called the Brick customer support again this morning and he said he would call the Brick store in Barrie where I purchased the refrigerator and see about having a bar fridge sent over to use until the repair gets done. I should not have had to wait this long as they should have a stock of parts locally and not to be sent from China. Also, since I have paid a large sum of money for the extended guarantee, there should have been immediate action to see that I was not so inconvenienced as this. The very nice man in the Brick customer service just called and said he talked to the Brick store. The Brick store just called and it seems all is starting to go more smoothly and they are prepared to lend me a bar fridge. Of course, that still means long walks just to get to the fridge as I have little room for it. I am keeping my fingers crossed that the repair is now going to be done soon. If not, I will be taking much stronger action to see results and maybe help the rest of people that own LG products to get better treatment in the future. I have many LG products so it means a lot to me.

It is February and I still have not had my machine serviced. I have never had a washing machine not work, especially a very expensive machine that I have had for just under a year. Purchased the largest 110v LG Window Air Conditioner at Home Depot on January 9th 2013. On May 26th the Unit started freezing up. Contacted LG, it took 16 days to get a technician out to diagnose, then 4 days to wait for a new Condenser. 2 weeks later the unit froze up again. Called LG whom sent out the same Technician the next day and he stated it was low on refrigerant. This is a sealed unit that was ice cold on the day of the first repair, but he stated it was not fully charged, so he charged it. Three weeks later the unit froze again. LG stated they would send the same Technician the next day for a third attempt, and that if it could not be resolved they would then replace the unit. I was told the appointment time would be between 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. but after having left work early my wife waited there all day for nothing. The technician never called or showed. At 6:05 p.m. I called LG who stated not to worry he would be there some time that night. At 8:15 he showed up. I was there for this visit. I am a 30 year GM Technician and hold both ASE, Robin Aire, IMACA and GM A/C certifications. I watched the technician hook a gauge to the unit and the readings with the unit on was 60psi on the low side. They do not use a high side. The needle never waivered, yet the evaporator was frozen as were the lines leading toward the compressor. He claimed that the evaporator must be clogged. I replied it had been professionally cleaned the first time it froze up in May even though it was only 5 months old. He was adamant the unit could not breathe, so we took the unit outside and with a flashlight removed the evaporator and flushed the unit with a hose and found no debris, no mold, no dirt, nothing restricting the cooling fins. The water was clear and went straight through front to back and top to bottom. This stumped and confused the technician who claimed he did not know what was wrong. We reinstalled the unit and turned it back on and watched it start to freeze again the exact same way. I stated that where the freeze point ended had to be the point of an internal restriction debris, etc. and he stated that it must be a free floating internal restriction but had no idea how to fix it. So he wrote a note saying the system was fully charged and cleaned and he found nothing wrong. I was left with an A/C unit that still does not cool and freezes up. I called LG today, they had previously told me that after three repair attempts they would replace the unit. However today, they stated they would send a different technician who could give a different opinion, then they would consider replacing the unit. I was extremely upset and was beside myself with anger. First I was lied to about the time of the appointment, then I was lied to about third time repair attempt and they would replace my unit. Now I am expected to lose more time at work to be there for another repair attempt when they have failed in the last three to make a repair. There must be another way to resolve this short of buying another unit. I have a three year replacement plan with Home Depot but it does not start until after the year is up and that is still 4 months away, and in the heat of Florida I will not last 4 months with out A/C. This is unacceptable and should not be the way a company treats their customers. I will never buy another LG product and will pursue this until I get some type of resolution, I am just not sure what or when that may be.

Purchased a LG front load washing machine that has been leaking water for the past 4 months. Machine is still under warranty: 3 different service technicians visited home over 5 times and have been unable to repair the machine. The technicians initially claimed we were using too much detergent, till the last technician found a crack in the discharge hose and replaced it. Unfortunately, that wasnt the only problem as the machine is still leaking, but now worse than before. And now the leak is so bad, it resulted in water damage to our new construction home. Not only that, but the once quiet machine now sounds worse than before and the technician scratched up our unit.I informed LG again but still no result. From the very beginning, I pleaded with them to send a different service company to our home, but LG refused. I talked to customer service reps and even folks in their executive services department to no avail. After the first few visits, I began to ask for LG to replace the unit, again LG refused. After the leak caused water damage, I asked again for LG to replace the unit, but again LG refused. The machine is still under warranty, the service technicians have been unable to repair the unit, but LG still refuses to replace it even though the terms of the warranty indicate that replacement is an option.

I purchased an LG computerized washer from Home Depot that has a big label that says 10 years, which is no guarantee of anything. The washer worked 3 years and the $450 power supply went out. No more computerized washers for me. They are pretty, but I will take the simple old models with knobs and mechanical parts without the fancy very expensive to repair computer parts from now on. My washer before it lasted over ten years. My expensive LG is in my shed. I cannot bear to put on the curb something I paid that much for. I now have a used washer that I paid $100 for the washer/dryer pair that work just fine. They are Roper models. I felt like it is not fair to us. We paid for a brand new oven and got a defective one and no one seemed to be willing take a responsibility for that. We are stuck with a defective stove. The service was very bad. We were actually told by the manager step out of my store, the exit is that way! twice. We would like them to exchange the oven or refund my money.. Well, Ive finally had it with this machine. We bought it & the matching electric dryer from former homeowners when we bought their house. Guess we should have done more research into the plethora of problems these sorry excuse for an appliance really have. These junkers wouldve been out on the road the second we moved in. First, within a month the dryer died. One morning I turned it on & it started smoking, so that was that. Out to the curb! Next, we had been using the LG steam washer for about 4 months & continually noticed water on the floor around it. Never really found where it was coming from other than a drip streak down the side around the detergent drawer where you add the soap/bleach. Another issue was the door lock kept malfunctioning & wouldnt let the load run unless you either slammed the door shut or put pressure on it with your knee when it was trying to lock. Then the thing would sound like a 747 taking off when it was in spin mode. It would shake violently & eventually wake up the baby with its deafening whir. Finally, it showed an error message saying the pump wasnt able to drain the tub because of a clog or something. So I got on my hands & knees to screw open the drain trap & 5 gallons of water came gushing out all over the floor. There is a small rubber hose down there also, but when I took out the plug on the end of it no water drained out. What gives LG? Do you need a wet/dry vac at the ready to do this procedure or a stack of towels so you dont trash the floor? Very poor design! And doing this did absolutely nothing. Same error code came up & the pump just sickly rumbled. So it is now out on the curb also awaiting a trip to the dump where it belongs. Please, everyone, do not buy these piece of refuse appliances from LG. You will only bring upon yourself great pain & grief. Time to break out the old GE top loader that I know works fine. Glad I held onto it for back up. DONT BUY LG!!!

I purchase this $2700 refrigerator November 2016. It started shutting down on its own and tripping our circuit breaker around March 2019. I called customer service several times, they claimed that the problem problem lies with my circuit breakers and I should call an electrician. I was skeptical and then started researching online about LG refrigerator failures. Turns out, there were class action lawsuits towards LG regarding compressor failures in their refrigerators.I then called customer service again in May 2019 and demanded to have a LG certified technician assess the problem. A technician came out and diagnosed the problem as a faulty door (the side with the icemaker). He estimated it would cost $750 to repair and that it was no longer under warranty, but even if it was under warranty that they hate dealing with LG because LG has not been reimbursing in a timely manner. I ended up paying $65 diagnostic fee out of pocket.I am currently attempting to receive a claim for an extended warranty on my Citicard. Up until last week my refrigerator was usable as long as I didnt open the icemaker side of the door. It is not completely dead in less than 3 years. My mothers old Whirlpool lasted greater than 20 years! A few days again, I purchased a mini fridge as an emergency plan while I wait for my claim to be processed. I will never buy another LG product again, and I am spreading the news to all my friends and family to avoid LG at all costs!

On August 25, 2019 my refrigerator started getting warmer and warmer. I called Sears repair but they only had an appointment two weeks out on September 10th so I took it. Thats a long time to go without a refrigerator. However, I read online that LG refrigerators have issues with their compressor so I decided to call LG direct to see if there was any warranty on my fridge I purchased in 2012. After the standard questions...the service agent provided me with a phone number of the local repair person for LG. I called Lilo and he was able to come out the very next day. He confirmed it was the compressor and then tested the motherboard to make sure the software would be compatible with the new compressor which it was, whew. I know there have been a lot of bad reviews here but I didnt have the same experience so I decided to take the time to post. Thank you for the help LG and I appreciate your service repair person here in Hawaii!

Really not as good as we had expected reading other reviews. No matter how hard we try to set the feet, the machine vibrates a lot. The clothes come out very hard. There are not enough spin speed options. The control panel is hard to read if need glasses - you must be wearing them to set it properly. Wish we had stuck with Bosch.

Brand new LG top freezer refrigerator was replaced twice. None of the freezers could maintain a zero or lower temp - sometimes getting up to as much as 15. LG told me theyd send someone out but since the problem is random, if it isnt above zero, they will charge me for the call. INSTEAD of researching what LG has done in the past to fix this problem and just doing that repair, they insist I have to wait until the fridge constantly fails. Which is may or may not. Meanwhile, I cant protect food from freezer burn and spoilage. I called LG. Was disconnected. Called again. was put on hold 15 minutes and was disconnected. Called again. Was told someone would call me back. No one did. Emailed asking what the fix was for this issue and was told to read the owners manual and that I had to call their 800 number to talk to a person. The email contained a link to a chat which told me I was not authorized to use. So I have a new refrigerator with a useless freezer and no help from LG. All they need to do is tell me how the problem has been fixed for others. Instead, they not only lost a customer, I will caution others not to deal with LG.

Lg top load model # WT1101CW - I have had this washer for 1 1/2 years. It takes all day to do a load of clothes. Every time you call for repair they just want to replace electronic board. That does nothing. Right now it is 6pm and I have been doing the same load of clothes since 7am. Constantly says uneven load, constantly refills and adds time when it says 13 minutes. I go back in about 15 minutes later it is filling up with water and now has more minutes. Just random amounts of time. Filling, draining, filling, draining, never spinning. It is so frustrating to try to get laundry done. There is a small 15 yr old Maytag in my basement that works better. Do not buy this washer. It is a top loader with no agitator. I Hate it!!!!!

I have a black stainless over-the-range microwave. After 10 months the touchpad has quit working. I have to have the microwave unplugged because, if I plug it in the fan runs and the microwave appears to be running but none of the buttons on the touchpad work so I cannot shut it off. I first contacted Lowes service on Nov. 6 and didnt receive a followup call from LG so I called back on Nov. 9. Finally got a call from a service company on Nov. 10 but they could not get anyone out until the following Wednesday and we were going to be gone. The service company canceled the case and I was told I needed to start the process over when I returned home. I started it again on Nov. 28 and still no call from the service company. Called LG but all they would tell me was that I had to wait until the end of the day. My question to everyone who reads this is: How do we get the big box stores to stop selling LG appliances? LG doesnt seem to care at all about customer satisfaction. Perhaps if Lowes, Home Depot, Best Buy or one of the other big box stores canceled their contract with LG, perhaps LG would look more seriously at the service they provide. Any suggestions on how consumers could accomplish this?

I was so excited about getting the French door, two drawer model. I have two complaints. First one is the shelves. I have more tall bottles than the fridge accommodates, then there is a short space behind that I can set something in but you have to remove the tall bottles to get to it. The main complaint is the icemaker. The ice balls come out great, it makes 3 a day, however the crushed and cubed work for about a week then nothing for a week then suddenly its working again. We called customer service they referred us to the local technician who apparently hates his job. He would not even come out to look at the problem. He said he would order a new icemaker. At this time the fridge was only 3 weeks old. We had to keep calling him back to check on the new part. Then he never came out with the part until after the 3rd time he said he would come. Then he wouldnt speak to us. After about a month the icemaker quit for a week then started up again and so on. I ordered ice trays on Amazon. No way we will deal with that repairman again. And when he did come out we were really nice and friendly I even told him a few jokes and he totally ignored me. We bought it through Costco.

In June of 2014 I bought a new French door LG fridge ($2199) for our new home from Sears Canada. From the minute it was plugged in it squealed randomly and has a constant humming/vibrating noise that is well above just annoying. As a point of reference, we have an almost identical LG at the cottage and it is basically noise free. I have been quite patient about getting the noise corrected as it seems to function well except for how noisy it is. The authorized LG repair tech was there today for the second time and had the gall to tell me it seems not bad, I asked him to leave and go have another drink as the alcohol coming off him would serve a college fraternity well.Almost one year later I still have an annoying buzz coming from my new LG refrigerator and zero satisfaction in getting this remedied. At this point I fully expect LG to delay this until the one year warranty is up and say sorry, nothing we can do. Fortunately, I have lawyers in my family and this matter is far from over. As many others have said, THIS WILL BE MY LAST LG PRODUCT regardless of the ultimate outcome. There is no need in this day and age to put up with this level of customer service.

2 weeks after purchasing, smoke began billowing from back of range during preheat cycle. Had to unplug for fear of house burning down. Called LG Support and they tried to tell me it was due to unit being new. I had to convince them we had been using the range for 2 weeks and that smoke coming from back of unit was not normal and was not new burn-off. Not a good start LG.

Purchased LGs gas oven, in part for its brilliant blue interior. Well within the first year of use, the interior base shelf had corroded, as if some solvent had been applied to remove the paint. Since I never bake citric foods (no lasagna, no fruit pies), I could not explain how this ugly disfiguring of the interior of the oven could have occurred. Running ones hands over the surface, it feels like sandpaper.Additionally, the internal temperature is approximately 25 degrees off, based on an oven temperature gauge purchased to check the ovens accuracy. Both of these problems bring into question the overall integrity of this LG gas oven. I would not recommend anyone purchase an LG appliance.

The knobs on the oven are not safe and are a fire hazard. All you have to do is lean against them a tad and the eyes will turn on. If you have children or animals you do not want this oven in your house. DO Not leave any items on the stove top because the knobs are so sensitive you will start a fire. They need to recall and fix this issue before a fire from this stove/oven causes deaths.

It is up to date, keeps food cold, and also keeps drinks pretty cold as well. Its also pretty spacious to put leftovers and other stuff in it like juice, milk, etc.. It is an all around amazing brand when it comes to fridges. I have always liked LG and I will get another LG brand in the future. I love the brand because they make a lot of good stuff that is very up to date. LG has always succeeded to make me happy with their appliances. I love how every time I put a used drink in my fridge. It stays super cold so its refreshing when I want it again.

Total piece of junk and I will never buy an LG appliance again. $2000 fridge ice machine then the main compressor failed within 2 weeks of each other. Didnt even bother to try a costly repair so had it hauled away and bought a competitors brand. After some research, apparently this is pretty common with LG refrigerators. LG should be ashamed at making such poor quality equipment.

Purchased an LG side by side refrigerator in October 2016 with an extended warranty. Last week 7/20/20 I noticed a warm freezer and warm refrigerator temp. I called LG to schedule a service call and was told August 4 was the next availability. Also was told that was the best they could do. I researched area authorized LG repair and found Sears appliance repair. When I called they had told me July 28 was their next available date. I called LG back to let them know, I was told that dispatch could not be changed even after I found the earliest available date from a factory authorized repair center. Sears told me that warranty would have to be submitted directly to LG by me after repair and bill was taken care of. Sears was great. They came earlier than expected, had the parts on the truck and all was fixed in a couple of hours. We paid the bill and contacted LG for warranty claim. Not only was my wife put on hold for hours when asking for a supervisor, but when a supervisor finally connected we were vehemently denied any warranty. The reasoning was that the company they dispatched did not do the repair. When I explained the situation I was told I should have received a repair work order authorization number by the dispatcher for Sears which I never received or was told about. I also suggested that I pay for labor and asked if LG would at least pay for parts (which I still have) and again was denied. Roughly $550 in parts, $450 in labor and it looks like I will be handling the full amount with no resolution. I do not understand why LG did not help better in this situation. I found that these linear compressors have a high failure rate, have multiple class action lawsuits working against LG and poor customer service help from the start to help me rectify this problem. I just do not understand.
