I moved into a home in 2013 with a 2010 LG refrigerator. Both of the water lines have had to be repaired. On November 2, 2015 all food in the refrigerator was freezing. LG will not send out a technician unless you pay them in advance on credit card - $195 for all parts and labor with a 90 day warranty. A sensor had to be replaced. Today (March 9, 2016) the food is freezing again. I just called LG and they want another $195 before they will send another technician out but not before March 14. Their products and repairs are useless. DO NOT BUY LG.

We purchased an LG model lvc22520sw/01 in 2010. We loved the fridge up till about 1 year ago when it would start beeping in the middle of the night, day ... whenever. It drives us nuts. We are a 2-adult household and never leave the door open. Why wont LG address this problem? Our warranty expired and that was when the beeping started. The grill and back are clean; the floor is clean underneath. I just replaced the water filter and it still beeps. Does LG really care about the consumer? Fix this!

We bought model LFX31925SB/00 in 2012. Within a few weeks it started making loud sounds and by the second month, it died the first time. LG sent a repair guy and he reset it and it was fine. After about four week, it died again. This time he came back and had to replace the motherboard. I had made a couple weeks worth of meals, because I was having a baby. We came home from the hospital and the refrigerator was dead and the kitchen was FLOODED!! We lost all of our food AND had a damaged floor. I had to deal with the LG customer service, which was a waste of time. They did absolutely nothing. Then I had to call hhgregg and deal with their customer service. Im not sure which one is worse. We ended up getting a repair man ourselves, who had to replace the motherboard three times. What we thought was a good investment has ended up costing us probably five times more than what we spent buying it, counting what we lost when it died. We wouldve been better off buying the most expensive, top of the line refrigerators out there. At least then we would have something that would be worth the money we spent.

Purchased fridge a year and 1/2 ago. Just my wife and me home. First the piece at top of left door for closing broke off. Then a short time later, the cheap plastic for drawer slide broke. To clean fridge, you have to pull out of wall and pull plug, no turn off switch. I have heard several complaints about LG but because it was the only size that fit in our kitchen space, I thought I would take a chance. Darn sorry now.

We purchased an LG washer and dryer set. The dryer works well, but the washer is a disaster. Our towels have an unpleasant musty smell just 1 day after they are washed. The rubber sleeve between the front panel and the drum is literally designed to trap moisture and grow mold. What a horrible design! We miss our old top loader Amana. That washer worked wonders on spots and dirtier clothes like playground pants with grass on the knees. Our front loader LG, on the other hand, is a piece of cr@p. We are waiting for this thing to develop any problem so we can replace it with a Bosch. Dryers works well. Washer doesnt get the clothes clean. It uses less water than our old washer but what good are water savings when the clothes dont get clean? We will check Amazon customer reviews to see which models to AVOID like the plague. Before buying this LG washer we were focused on efficiency but with LG efficiency came at the cost of less than clean clothes and smelly towels. Reliability is important but effectiveness is a very close second. A reliable, highly efficient washer is junk if it doesnt get the job done. To reiterate, stay away from LG clothes washers. The design of the drum, pump, and the drum seal is defective. It traps moisture and promotes mold growth. Also, the pump/filter assembly on these washers holds about 12 OZ of water at all times. We forgot to drain the filter assembly before going on a 3-week vacation. When we came back, the whole downstairs of the house smelled like sewer. The stench was coming from our wonderful LG washing machine. I had to flush it with 2 gallons of bleach! Stay away from LG washers! They are toxic!

Purchased LG Model LFXS29626B because of good reviews and it had features we desired like 2 ice makers. Worked fine for 3 years then stopped without any signs of problems. Research discovered common failures of the compressors in these LG refrigerators. Contacted LG by phone and using Smart Diagnosis was informed by the technician that the compressor had failed. My worse fear with no extended warranty. LG offered to repair my unit without cost to me. It was repaired the same day, in short time as the repairman came with required parts on hand. I applaud LG for owning this problem, but feel cautious wondering if the new compressor will fail after a short time period. We hope not because up to this point, it has served us well and we like the looks, and features. Previous refrigerator was a Kenmore, which lasted 16 years and cost one fourth of the LG.

Now I’m being told the coils and parts that hold the Freon has to be replaced and it will cost 300.00 in labor. I just paid 300.09 for the last part and they want me to pay 261.00 for labor of the last part. That’s Sears which is a whole story on it’s own. Don’t buy LG and don’t buy from Sears!!! EVER!!!

We purchased a washer/dryer (DLE5955W) combo in 2009 for approximately $700 apiece. After just 3 years, the dryer stopped working appropriately - the drum would not stop turning and now it wont turn at all. After multiple calls, my wife and I turned to the internet and chat room help. I have friends who have $300 off brand dryers that have been working for 20 years and our $700 Life is Good unit lasted 3 years - what a joke! I am absolutely shocked at the massive number of problems that these units have and they refuse to do anything about it. I cannot fathom why LG allows these types of challenges to continue. Oh wait - yes I do - we, as consumers, continue to buy their products so they keep making them this way. I wish LG would have honor and integrity in their business and fix the circuit board and dryer drum challenges that millions of people are having.

I bought this product from the factory floor, a year and half the ice maker fails and purchase the part and replace. Now it is three years old, and completely fail to keep cool anything within, is that not annoying, old model refrigerator wont have this after 10 years or more. This is 3 damn years and wont work right, what a BS is this. 3K is just throw in the dirt, do I trust the repairman do the good job last few more years, I dont think so. I would rather buying other brand and throw the trash. Whoever plan to purchase LG refrigerator be careful, dont trash your money. It looks good in the house kitchen floor but not working good.

Received letter in May 2013 about recall of LG washer that I purchased about 18 months previously. Called the number listed and set up appointment for replacement of motherboard. That is when the problems started. There were numerous problems and it involved many calls to the company. Six months and eight technician visits later I finally got through to a company supervisor who agreed to replace the recalled machine. Delivered on November 27th, 2014. The very first time I used it the machine shut down completely while full of water. Put cycle on drain and spin and it solved that problem. In the following four months there have been a number of other problems including very low water fill, even for smaller loads. Extremely frustrating because I have to keep pressing the button for extra water and it only puts in a small amount. After the fourth press, it fills to the very top which is too much water. There is no happy medium. Also, there is a button for warm water but it always fills with cold water. As with all the other complaints I have read, there is also a balance problem with this machine. I have placed several calls to the supervisor I spoke with in November but they have been ignored. The machine that I had before the LG was a Maytag and I used it hard (we were a family of three children and three adults) and it went strong for 23 years. The only replacement on it was a belt. If my calls to the company are not returned, I intend to fill out a complaint with the BBB.

I purchased a LG refrigerator Lfc25760st from Home Depot. Within 1st year the plastic parts inside were cracking and falling apart. It started with the wheels popping off the drawers like they were nothing. I called only to have them accuse me of being extremely rough with my new refrigerator. Then said I had to get someone out there to look at it. Guess what? I live 2 hours from the nearest service dept. So Id have to pay for that, mind you its still under warranty at that point. I call and find out Ill have to pay the 50.00 and 0.35 per mile of which LG will not reimburse me. So, I just skip it because at that point the drawers still side out without the elcheapo made wheels. Then everything else begins to crack and break. So I call again.Im so mad because they will not help me and its now 100% clear that its LGs fault this is happening. I have my old GE side by side that is 20 years old, been through teenagers, young kids and moving 3 times. Its still running and the insides are great. Not the LG!! My drawers all falling in! The rails have cracked and the drawers fronts are even cracking off. Never has there been such a completely uncaring company that is unwilling to rectify problems that are obviously their fault. Its time for a class action law suit. They went cheap on production for these refrigerators and we the consumer trusted this company to produce a quality appliance. I now walk away from everything LG and Im not the only one.So much for wanting a nice stainless french door refrigerator for my kitchen. I have contacted the company over 6 times and get nothing but run around. I even tried to get them to at least give me some type of discount on all the parts that are broken that should not be. It will be well over 400.00 to replace all the broken parts not including shipping. I have talked to other people that the exact same thing happened with them. LG also told them they have never heard of these problems before. Gave them the exact same run around. They replace their insides only to have them all break again. Im done. Its lawyer time.

Zero stars would be more like it! I have had an LG Steam Dryer for 2.5 years. It has never worked. I fortunately did purchase the Extended Service Plan from Home Depot. I have had it repaired 6 times and thats 12 service calls. It will heat a little for a few weeks and then stop working all together. The 6th repair, it didnt even heat the day the repair was done. Since then, Ive called numerous times and Assurant (the provided for Home Depots service plan) wont get back to me, wont send anyone to fix it, wont start a claim. I see it falls into the Lemon Law but if they can drag their feet for another month, one of the repairs falls off and then it isnt the Lemon Law any more. They refuse to do anything to help. Ive called Home Depot Corporate to see if they would do anything to help and was told no, you need to work with Assurant. I have also called the Gas Company to look at it to make sure it was hooked up correctly to begin with. It is hooked up correctly but they said the flame is so huge that its a total fire hazard and is now completely unhooked. So Im left with a $1200+ piece of junk and no way to dry any clothes. I will never shop at Home Depot nor will I buy LG anything again. Dont believe reviews that say LG is in the top for dryers because believe me, they are all junk!

LG Tromm. Well reviewed. No experience with the brand, so it was the first time. It was very expensive 11 years ago, but seems to have come down in price. Extremely satisfied with all the options, for e.g., delay wash, hand wash. The only problem was the mould around the rubber seals. I cant seem to get rid of it, even though Ive tried everything suggested, both by professionals and on the internet. The capacity was large enough to wash a King duvet and clothing for a family of 5. It needed to be energy efficient because we do 3 full loads a week. It had excellent reviews. Repairs are our main concern. Although we bought extended warranties for the pair (washing machine and dryer), it doesnt cover all parts or repairs, but for most. I wish the sales associate gave us the pros and cons of these machines. We have more pros when reviewing the LG Tromm, but more information about the mould problem would have helped.

Updated on 10/03/2019: LG phoned today regarding my review. Since I didnt have a haul away receipt, there was nothing they could do and since I didnt purchase another LG product, they couldnt help with the cost. They dont care about the customer, as they say they do. I spoke to LG many times during the 3 months I was without a refrigerator and asked that they replace the unit or give me a buyout with no response. An Appliance repair company e-mailed them after speaking to a person in the executive services and asked that they contact me regarding a replacement or buyout, but, of course, they never did.Original review: Do not purchase! I spent 3 agonizing months trying to get the compressor replaced. Every time a technician came they said it wasnt the compressor and changed the fan, door magnet, and adjusted the sensitivity in the door light. Finally I had to call another appliance repair company due to the fact that their warranty company is horrible. Then, it took many weeks to get LG to authorize them to do the work. Finally, the technician began to install the compressor that LG sent 3 months prior. LG had sent the wrong compressor for this model. When the correct compressor was installed, it didnt fix the problem. After many calls to LG, they would not replace the refrigerator, nor give me a buyback. My 18 month old refrigerator is now in the dump and I am very happy with my new GE.

The problems began with the single half page instruction page. The details as to how to access the dryers internal parts dont match up with the dryer I ordered. When I explained this to LGs customer service rep he replied that its a generic dryer and we dont encourage homeowners to do the LP conversion no matter how competent they are as general contractors. I love the LG Refrigerator but the filter in the ice maker is not efficient
I love the LG Refrigerator but the filter in the ice maker is not efficient and wont filter right. A guy that works for my son bought one that was almost identical to ours, and they were talking one day and he was having the same problem. Everything was taken out from that ice maker and replaced but still, nothing. We kept doing little tests here and there with the ice and it was the water filter that you put inside the door. I noticed that when the rep came out and put it in that it was very small. We had to pay 200 and some dollars for an ice maker and the ice has not been used for the first three months that we’ve had the refrigerator. Dean asked for 10 filters and the lady he talked to said no but she said that she would send five of them. She typed in the wrong numbers and sent the whole assembly where you put the filter in. There was nothing wrong with where the filter fits in and we saved that. We were gonna try to send it back if she’ll send us 5 or 10 filters. That would get us by. Its kinda unfair for us to have to spend that on a filter, replace the filters in that one every year, and then have to do the inside ones too that dont even work. He wrote her back and she has not even responded to us. Im kind of dissatisfied because its costing us a lot of money to keep it. Weve had the brand new refrigerator and had to go buy ice to put in the bottom of it because we couldnt even use our ice maker.

We bought a new LG French door refrigerator model LFX28978ST from Sears. The refrigerator is under warranty - 7 year for sealed system and 10 yr linear compressor. We had enjoyed the refrigerator until it stopped generating any cool air in Jun 2016. We had contacted LG support, and LG technician came out 6 times to fix the same cooling issue. Every time the fix only lasted 2 days to maximum 10 days. The LG technician had been telling us the cooling issue is not fixable; however, LG corporate insisted its fixable. LG corporate also said they will continue to fix the issue with no consideration on the number of attempts! Anyone with common sense agrees 6 attempts is more than enough to prove its not fixable! When we suggested there is lemon law to protect consumers from repeated same issue; LG corporate said the law does not apply to appliance. LG corporation does not care about customer satisfaction and does not honor their written warranty. Its unfair for consumers to take this nonsense from big corporation. Where is accountability? Ever since we bought our LG Model LFX31925ST in Nov. 2012, the ice maker is leaking on. You cant get ice from dispenser because all ice are frozen together and now the water is leaking from under the refrigerator and its not because of the water supply. Both ends of the water supply are dry. Now lets talk about the clothes dryer. We have the tech out 4 times because the tub was bent and they would not replace it until the manager came out and now its taking 2-3 hours to dry a normal load of clothes. We purchased an LG front load washer at Home Depot. Only after it was installed could we, and did we, learn that it vibrates incredibly loud on a firm modern floor regardless of the load and balance, and due to its very high spin speed. Home Depot and LG refuse to exchange it for a top loader. A Home Depot representative admitted that they intentionally do not mention that problem to potential purchasers. LG does not even respond to our many forms of contact. They both claim that the machine is working as designed, which can only mean that the design is defective. In our opinion, no one should purchase an LG front loader washer. We have had to resort to ridiculous and only partially successful steps to dampen the vibration and noise, such as cramming pool noodles around the washer (see attached photo).

LG French Door Refrigerator was moved to new address and wouldn’t come on
LG French Door Refrigerator was moved to new address and wouldn’t come on at all. I figured it was the cord, got pulled or something of that matter. I called to inquire on warranty and set appointment for repair. The place it was purchased gave me the number of the repairmen and the repairman showed and said he was not certified to work on LG, call Sears. So, I called Sears and they offered a warranty that would cover all repairs and services for $274, actually $300.00 after tax. They set a 2nd appointment, they show and tell me that $900+ in repairs and I only have $500.00 worth of coverage. I questioned the repairman that warranty was to cover all repairs/pans underneath and the ice maker, which is funny because it is not hooked up to water for ice. I guess he has some spirit that will tell him and guess what, it needs a new cord. I had Sears email the so called extended warranty. It only covers $500.00 toward repairs, or $500 credit at Sears, or I can have my $300.00 back. Wow, this is service that says to the consumer, I will sell a warranty that sounds great but the actual warranty covers LG for selling a $2,000.00+ fridge that is only worth $500.00 maybe and that is only when it is under 2 years old.

I bought a new LG kitchen appliance set Stove/fridge in 2015, which cost a little over $5000, the fridge was in my house 45 mins from the store, I hired a plumber to install and connect a new water line for the fridge, after it was connected and plugged in, the water disperser would not work, I phoned LG right away, LG service personnel asked me how old the fridge was, I told her... 45mins, she was shocked and embarrassed, and 4 days later they sent a appliance technician to fix it.We have had nothing but problems with this fridge, the ice maker works off and on when it feels like it, the door jam between the french doors broke... Cheap plastic. The 2 oven stove burnt one burner coil out not long after the warranty was over, I contacted LG, they said for a one time fee I could have it repaired, and so on, my reply was... Ill never buy your product again. The glass stove top is very dangerous, hot pots and pans slide around very easy, dangerous around young children. I wished I would have kept my old GE set, old and ugly but still worked.

We were so happy with our side by side refrigerator. Until after 3-1/2 years after purchase it stopped cooling. My old cheap fridge that it replaced lasted 17.5 years. I purchased this more expensive refrigerator as I thought LG was a good brand (also bought a stove & TV by them). We tried the diagnostics available through the SmartThinQ app, and it says there is nothing wrong with it. Upon researching the problem, looks like there is a class action suit against LG due to faulty compressors failing after 3 years, which they claim LG knew about, but kept selling these. Now I am out a freezer full of meat and have an expensive repair. I looked at appliance repairmen from the LG site, and the two closest to me are based out of a home and an apartment. Seemed a bit sketchy. Also found that LG replaces the condensers with the same faulty condenser, so I looked elsewhere for a professional repair company. Very disappointed in LG as I had been a happy customer up until now.

On Feb. 6, 2017 our 11 month-old LG refrigerator stopped cooling. Since that time the compressor has been replaced and the main motherboard. Nearly 2 months later the freezer is inoperable as well as the ice maker. The refrigerator is semi-warm. I have asked for an exchange, and the service companies believe we have a lemon. LG refuses to exchange it. Their parts-shipping times, responses, and their techs on the phone are awful to deal with. We bought LG, expecting to trust and enjoy it. It is horrible! NEVER, NEVER, NEVER buy LG.

I bought LG fridge in Nov. 2014. It was dead by the end of June. Im not sure because the reading temp. at the door is still at 37/-2 degrees. I found out it was not working when all my food are rotten in the bottom freezer and smelly in the fridge. I called customer service on 7/10 who gave 2 repair service phone numbers. I contacted them and both didnt have any opening til next month. I called LG again, they gave me another 2 names. I asked if I can call any service that will offer earliest service. She said no because the service need to be LG authorized. I then called 1 of them. The tech came on 7/12 and found the compressor is ineffective. He charged $100 for trip/diagnose. If I have him repaired the fridge he will deduct this charge into the total labor which is $485.I called the customer service again to see if they can reimburse me for the cost of the compressor so I can buy a new fridge instead of paying that much for repair. They said no and at this time they offer me the flat rate repair of $362 for one-time service 60-day warranty or $485/1 year. I asked them if I can use the tech who diagnosed the problem before, they said no because he is not authorized by LG. Thats such a lie (They give me the referral). I asked why not offer me this at first. He said he didnt know. Anyway, I ordered the $362 repair and they charged up front. A confirmed email was sent and schedule for repair on7/17 between 8-12 pm. I took a day off to wait for them. Nobody showed up nor called. I called customer service. After being on hold for awhile, she said the service tech was behind so he couldnt make it.Being asked what will they do to correct it, she said she will send email to higher department to find another service for me. She didnt offer refund nor feel sorry about the situation. I asked to talk to the manager (direct number was requested). I called only to talk to a rep. again, go through all issues again. He put me on hold for over 20 still no response. After reading all complaints about LG. I found out that all issues lead to one result that LG just tried to drive customer around and postponing the solution. I have tried several times to call the supervisor just to wait for 20+. I tried to live chat, after being transferred to repair service dept., I waited there for 30 nobody responded. I emailed them only to get sorry for your inconvenience, we will take your input to improve our service. No problem was solved. Now I dont know what they plan to do on my repair order. No phone call nor email. I think Im going to call the federal trade and general state attorney to report this issue. My first tech told me that dont be tricked by the long term warranty. LG and Samsung parts are very hard to find and easy to break. This is the worst appliance brand and customer service I have ever seen. Im so upset that I spent that much money to buy this crap for over 2 years. I wonder why they still exist on the market. If I can give 0 star, I would.

Our french door refrigerator stopped working after 2 years and will need a new compressor. It sounds like LG started using a higher efficiency compressor a few years back that hasnt held up well. The replacement part is on order and we will be without a fridge for at least 1 week or longer. In the past, we have purchased much less expensive brands and never had this type of problem. Although the compressor is still under warranty, we are being told that we will be responsible for the hourly service charges. My advice is to avoid LG refrigerators - we will in the future. I have to believe that there are more dependable models, particularly at this price.

I like the French doors on the one we bought and the door within the door. We had it delivered then there was an installation issue and we had LG come out and fix it. Frankly Im not a happy camper with this product. We purchased a large capacity front loader a couple of years ago. And just like most honeymoons things went smoothly for the first couple of years. In the past year we have had all of our washables damaged. Each piece has small holes in them. We do not overload our washer or dryer and use the recommended products in the proper amounts. Have any of you experienced this issue and if so how did you resolve it. Personally I think it could be the drum itself thats causing the issue. I worked for years as a commercial laundry mechanic. Any help would be greatly appreciated

The title says it all. I had the unfortunate incident of cracking the stove top glass of my LG stove top when I was holding my one year old boy and I accidentally dropped a drinking glass about 1 foot from the glass. I went to the LG website and the price quoted was $844 + tax. I called 3 appliance repair guys and they all said, that nobody should ever by LG stove foe this very reason. THAT THE PARTS ARE OUTRAGIOUSLY PRICED!!!! Why didnt the LOWES appliance sales guy tell me that when I bought asked for advice on whether or not I should be local or LG? I spent almost $20,000 on all new LG appliances a few years ago. Never again! I will now buy locally manufactured goods because parts are readily available and significantly less costly. Expensive lesson learned. LG builds obsolescence into their products by outrageously charging exorbitant prices on parts! LG should be ashamed of themselves. A little mistake would now cost me and my family about $1000 to replace a glass top that is almost as expensive as a brand new stove. I will be throwing the LG stove out the window and will be buying a new locally manufactured stove. Will never ever buy LG again.

The force of the explosion was so intense that it smashed the near by window and sent shrapnel flying throughout the house. I contacted LG and asked why are these machines still in family homes. They need to be urgently recalled. After research I have found the same LG washing machines that have exploded in other people’s home. LG refuse to even replace the machine even with a receipt provided. These machines are dangerous. Please Beware when purchasing a LG washing machine. They are dangerous. I’m very thankful that I wasn’t standing in front of it at the time or my young grandchildren weren’t in the house. Very frightening experience and to think the company know these machines have the potential to Explode and do nothing. Very dangerous product.

After only a year and two months after purchase, our LG dishwasher (LDS4821ST) is obviously having a drain pump issue, and thankfully we purchased the service plan at Home Depot. This washer sucks. It has become noisy, the panel freaks out and sometimes you cannot choose certain wash cycles, and now this drain pump issue. Its a huge piece of **. Follow my advice, since I know people with more expensive washers - get something like a Bosch or, if you really have the cash, a Miele. If you purchase an LG, you will regret it. Oh, and we also have an LG refrigerator, which also sucks. Although there are no real problems yet, it cools unevenly, and even when the unit is set at 36, some zones read 42-44 degrees (I have a digital chefs thermometer), which is in the danger zone for food (40/140 rule).

First time buyer - Purchased brand new suite of Lg appliances. Front burner dials on stovetop are a huge fire hazard. Our dog apparently was trying to get to something that was on the stovetop and was able to turn a burner on. Our whole house was filled with thick smoke and soot and almost went up in flames. Luckily we arrived home when we did - to save the dog and before it took the whole house up. Brand new stove top cracked and ruined and a whole house of ash to scrub - including all my brand new white cabinets from my kitchen remodel. Then, as I was leaning over the stove to wipe off the under cabinets my hip turned a burner on. These burners dials are a major fire hazard.

I just dried a load of clothes and 3/4 of the load came out in one large twisted heap -- 3 pairs of dress pants, 6 shirts, two pairs of sweat pants which were worn once and one nightgown is totally stretched, ripped and ruined. If you are considering buying LG dont!!! We also own the partner front loading washing machine and it is ruining our water pipes. Cheap Plastic part. I have a three year old LFXS29766S LG Refrigerator. About 90 days ago we scheduled a service call with LG to replace the water and ice dispenser assembly ACQ85430259 which had cracks and other damage to the plastic. This was not warranty, we paid for the part and the service. About a week and a half ago we noticed that some of the plastic had crumbled away again for no reason we know of. We are an older couple with no children or teenagers that might be destructive. We called the infamous LG support number and at first were told that the part would be covered by the warranty on the part, not the warranty on the refrigerator. Since then we have been getting the run around. Phone calls and explanation in each call. Three days ago we got a customer service rep in Ohio and not Bangladesh. She said she understood and would expedite the situation and someone would call us. Never happened. I called again and got Bangladesh again and after painful explanation she said the part was out of the 90 day warranty by 5 days so we would have to pay for the replacement. I explained that I would never pay for anything from LG again. Instead I will post pictures of the problem all over the internet to make people aware of doing business with LG.

Awful. This dishwasher has the same problem that I keep seeing from others. Namely that it wont cycle and starts beeping. I clean the filter, rearrange dishes, change the cycle and it doesnt matter. With a very small load it will sometimes fully cycle but with a full load this dishwasher NEVER cycles. This was fairly expensive model and that investment has been flushed away. It was part of a full LG appliance buy and now I have to replace with a different brand. Very disappointing and Ill never buy another LG appliance again of any kind.

We have had this machine for almost two years, but being very busy in our lives have never actually watched the machine go through a full wash cycle, until I did it just recently. I put an average load of clothes in it and started a normal cycle. A little later I looked in to see that the clothes were only about half-immersed in water during the wash. Clearly, this was not good. I see that many people online have complained about this same problem. I find that the washer will only truly fill if the Bulky/bedding cycle is selected. Otherwise it simply will not put sufficient water in the tub for a proper wash. My fix to fool the machine is: start the load on Bulky, wait till it fills to the desired level, pause, change to normal and proceed. This will not make the rinse cycle fill up, but if you happen to catch it you can do the same for rinse. Sort of makes a joke of this high-tech automatic machine doesnt it?

Purchased a very expensive LG washing machine. The leak had been ongoing for a couple of years and was caused by a very cheap neoprene gasket (20p to replace) behind the soap draw, this in turn leaked onto the main PCB at the bottom front left of the machine causing this board to fail with a loud bang. The reason why I am not going to buy an LG appliance again is two fold. Very well made appliance (mostly) yet a small cheap component failed after just 2 years which then lead to a major component failure with no real noticeable warning. Replacement parts are as expensive as a new cheaper machine. Customer services is diabolical I had to email the UK CEO just to get customer services to call me back and yes of course the problem was denied (despite many other cases on the internet) as a known fault. Conclusion buy 3 cheaper machines for the price of 1 LG......... SIMPLES. This is known by LG customer services yet they choose to deny its a known problem.

I purchased all new LG LRG3093ST range on November 18, 2011 to match all the LG appliances I purchased. Within months the knobs started to crack and the cheap stainless foil laminate started to peel. I contacted LG and was told that they were aware of a problem with the knobs and there was a newer knob available that corrected the problem and they would ship them to me. Though I was skeptical of the information given to me I decided to accept their explanation and so a new set of knobs were shipped. Upon receiving the so called new knobs I closely compared them to the originals and found them to be exactly the same. Not a bit different. I kept the old knobs in use (using extreme caution) until the renovation of my kitchen was completed. Once the new kitchen was completed I exchanged the knobs with the new ones. Guess what? My wife use the oven today to bake and the new knobs started to peel and crack. The stove top and knobs are cleaned every day after use. They were fine yesterday! Its been just 45 days since I replaced them. They are true CRAP! It seems the oven builds up too much heat and that is when it happens. Not only that but there is also a burning smell when this occurs. Well, fortunately I purchased extended protection plans for every LG appliance I purchased from Home Depot. I will be on the phone with them bright and early tomorrow and see what they are going to do. At this point after reading all the complaints about the knob problem I will never ever purchase another LG appliance again nor will I recommend it to anyone either.

Your corporate office and president has no clue on treating clients properly. It’s beyond my comprehension why and how a company of this size survives with this type of attitude. So tell me when I’ll be reimbursed for all the damages? Having my dad on home hospice care made this situation beyond unreasonableOriginal Review: We bought our LG in Oct 2016. Worked fine up until May 15 2020. Compressor stopped. Had independent service person confirm & write report. Cost me $100.00. Called LG for over 3 weeks to get some to repair. Absolutely Zero customer no service, NOTHING). Finally after 4 weeks (and using 2 large coolers and filling/buying ice EVERYDAY) I called again, finally got through and got an appointment for a week later. We too made the mistake of purchasing an LG front loading washer and dryer from Best Buy. After just 15 months, the circuit board on the dryer went out. The technician that came out told us it was probably because of the vibrations from the washer which the dryer was stacked on top of. The salesperson at Home Depot, who sold us the stacking package, never indicated that this could create a problem. Lucky for us that when I called LG, they agreed to extend our warranty enough to cover the bad circuit board. They would not refund the $85 I spent having a technician come to my house to diagnose the original problem. I have read a lot of complaints about LG washers and dryers and I cannot believe that no consumer groups or the consumer protection agency of our government have not jumped all over this. A dryer used under normal conditions should work for years without any of the types of major problems that are being noted all over the internet. I, for one, will never buy an appliance from Best Buy nor another LG appliance.

We have an extended warranty which would not cover replacement if broken within 3 months. We now have a shelf that is also broke that is not covered by the warranty. We do not have children living at home and are not hard on appliances. The plastic in this fridge is very brittle and does not stand up to normal everyday use. After numerous phone calls & with technician repaired it 4 times, the fridge temperature is still too hot, over 42 degrees. Most of the time, you cant get hold of anybody. I was totally flabbergasted when a customer rep asked me whether I had done my troubleshooting after I called back to report the fridge still not working properly after another repair service. The technician was very nice & professional. Its the customer service people that are supposed to provide services that I have problem with. They are either non-responsive or rude or give you the merry go round or totally incompetent. And they will forward my phone call to another dept & then the phone was dropped. Nobody really tried to resolve the issue and give us a solid answer. The issue is very clear. Fridge didnt cool to the set temperature. If you cant fix it, replace it. And when I told them of my food keep getting spoiled. Their typical answer is sending me a link to report it so I can claim. Fridge was delivered last Sept. Updated on 3/30/2020: So after a good amount of time I thought maybe maybe our problems with this LG fridge was over. LG sent out a repairman who was a nice guy and over two appointments he attempted to fix the problems. And now a week or maybe two weeks later it’s so much worse. Now after correcting the ice maker issue by adapting or changing lines from the freezer to the ice maker and doing something else with the freezer motor or what have you, we notice this morning water leaking from the door where the ice maker is located. After trying to clean up the water we realize it’s not cold in the ice maker compartment and then realize the freezer is not working and half the contents are thawed or half thawed. It must have been happening during the night at some point. Now we have all this food about to ruin soon. This fridge is a nightmare. It has been 4 years of hell. It is just a waste of almost $4,000 dollars!Original Review: I had many LG products when I bought my $4,000 fridge. I was so excited and for us that’s an expensive purchase. Within a year the problems started. We’ve had the fridge fail several times including the famous linear compressor problem now in class action suit. But water runs inside the walls and freezes in the middle drawer chiller section. It rusts the wheels or rollers and now we can’t use the middle drawer. Not a crisper drawer inside but the big whole drawer in the middle which costs you another 1k to have the 4 drawer fridge. It’s useless. They can’t find the parts for the back wheels. The front ones don’t fit. They’ve sent out repair people which we have to pay for and they’ve sent out a dozen parts all of which don’t work and we pay for. We’ve been dealing with customer service supervisor Alexandra ** for 6 months and she can’t or won’t get anything done. LG is a scam company stealing money from consumers!!!

In November 2011, we purchased an LG Microwave (Model LMV1813SB). It lost power a month later and had to be serviced by LG. It went out again a week later. An LG service person came out and worked on it again, but due to the LG policy, would not replace it until after four service calls. We had the issue again in March and April and finally they are replacing it. My complaint is the extremely poor policy and customer service that LG has. They would rather have the customer go through the time and effort of not having a microwave, making numerous phone calls to LG and scheduling time to have the microwave fixed. This is such horrible customer service. The time and effort we have had to go through to replace the microwave is more than what the microwave is worth. Here is the icing on the cake. LG has shipped our new microwave but told us that the one year warranty does not include removal and installation. I had to argue to get them to reimburse me for this. I will never buy another LG product based on this horrible customer service experience!

This refrigerator (French Door Model LFX21960ST) is only about 3 years old. The first year we had to call out the repairmen because, evidently, the light was not going out when the door was closed. This is difficult for me to know since I rarely spend time inside the unit with the door closed. As a result, the bulb burned, melted and fused the carriage to the top of the fridge. It was still under warranty so it was fixed, though I had to take off work to wait for service. Now the display shows ‘Error’ which means, according to the LG site, repair must be called again! I have never had a refrigerator that needed service much less one needing major work within two years.

We bought our LG Smart Inverter fridge last year. When we were shopping, we were looking for a spacious freezer and of all fridge weve seen, its layout stood out. The height and the depth (the z-axis) is greater than others. We could stuff a lot of meat, ice cream, ice inside and since last year, we have never filled it up to its full capacity even though weve hosted large parties in our house. It also have compartments inside that are intuitively placed, not just placed there for the heck of it. My favorite is the chiller, its spacious and it can semi-freeze meat, hotdogs, chorizo, making it still fresh. We have not had any problems with the fridge. Hope we dont have to use its 10-year warranty. The only downsides with the fridge is that the egg tray can only accommodate 8 eggs and even though the doors are closed, somehow, insects are able to creep inside. I dont know how they can get inside to both the freezer and the lower compartment. I constantly remove dead insects inside. So far, fridge is performing as expected.

Purchased an LG side by side model #LFXC24726S several years ago (2015?). The compressor went out and after reading the angry reviews on this site, I feared the worst. I called up LG, and after about 10 minutes they had scheduled a repairman to fix the fridge in two days. LG overnighted the replacement part and paid for the repair. The fridge is now humming along and everyone is happy. Thank you LG for the excellent service!

This washer was purchased in late 2013. Within the first year I was experiencing issues with codes like LE and UE and complete freezes of the control panel. The washer would stop in an unknown cycle at that time and basically force you to rewash the clothes. Calling LG support was no help at that time and I simply lived with it until recently when I was constantly getting unbalanced load errors uE, UE. It got to where I could not complete a cycle at all. I had to go into special mode and try to spin the clothes which was in the end impossible. I called LG several times over the years with nothing ever coming of it. Finally in late August 2016, I was forced to purchase a service contract for $275 just to get one of their certified technicians to come look at the washer. The first tech replaced a part on the bottom of the washer that contained lots of magnets. Sorry I dont remember the part name. This seemed like it made it worst. A second technician arrived several days later and called an engineer in Alabama to diagnose the problem and they immediately decided it was in need of a software update or circuit board change. They opted for the board change because the tech told the engineer he did not have the capabilities of the software update so he would order a board. He basically told me he lied to the engineer to force them to change the board. I suppose it was to my benefit to rule out the board being bad if the software update didnt fix it. Ill never know if the software update would have fixed it. The board arrived the next day and 4 days later he replaced it and now the machine is working fine.My problem with this is they should have suspected the board or software from the first phone call I made. Clearly there is a known issue with this machine and the software. They forced me to purchase a service contract I should not have had to purchase. I have read of many instances of the same problem with this machine. I tried and failed to get them to refund my money.

(Re: LG Tromm WM1841CW) I moved in with my GF, leaving my old cheap top load behind for the new tenant and thinking hey, why not, the GF has an expensive LG; more expensive, a lot more expensive, so it must be better, right? Wrong! On top of the musty odors, I swear I am gaining rather than losing stains on my clothing. These look like grease stains. Certain materials seem more prone, such as cottons, especially softer cottons. LG suggests all this ** about cleaning the door seal, door, and tub at minimum daily. What a load of **! What, the consumer has to fix LGs bad design problems? And this thing cost more than a thousand. My 50-dollar secondhand washer never had these problems and got things clean. Save your money and you mind and buy yourself a good ol’ cheap top loader. Going forward, I will hand fill (over fill) the tub with super-hot water and pout in a couple cups of bleach and let it wash for a few minutes before letting it sit for a few hours. As for the laundry, I will see about over filling it with water to get the wash actually clean.

I wish I would have read reviews on here before purchasing. I bought four LG kitchen appliances less than a year ago. My fridge/freezer stopped working correctly and I have been getting the run around from LG for the past week. I have been calling every 24 hours for an update. Each time I call, I get a new timeline. First it was 24-48 hours, then it was 3 business days, then 3-5 business days, then they escalated my case which means another 3-5 business days. They tell me they cannot find someone in my area to come repair it although I live in suburban Chicago. Ive called service providers listed on their website who said they could come out the next day but LG has still not contacted them directly. I lost a freezer and fridge full of groceries and now cannot have any fresh food while in the middle of a pandemic. I am very unhappy with their customer service and the quality of my fridge.

The refrigerator had touch screen features, good temperature functions, and enough room for all my groceries. The height and width was good, as well as the space it took up. I would improve the amount of time the warranty lasts and probably more cost effective. The cost is pretty high for some of the products, however, I enjoy the appliance. I chose this brand because its a well known brand and everything works well as expected. Im a fan of other products from LG and they work great. Great purchase and easy to use.

I bought a brand new LG refrigerator LFXS30766D in May 2015. Last month it did not make any cool air, as the result all my foods end up in the garbage can. I called LG, they dispatched a technician first time for diagnostic. Then the tech came back the second time with a new compressor. They charged me about $400 plus for part and labor. Well, the refrigerator then was running fine for about three weeks. After that the compressor made some noise. I had to unplugged it a few times with a hope making differences. At last the noise finally gone but there is a new problem starting last 2 weeks. The cooling issue came back. The freezer at the bottom is cool about 36F, and the fridge on top is warm. I found out the vapor fan stopped working. I went online to check on LG spare part to replace the fan myself so I can save money. But I am very disappointed after the fact that the vapor fan kit costs around $200 - $300 for the whole assembly kit. What a rip off!!! I spent more than $2000 to purchased this LG refrigerator; and I really believe this is a piece of junk. I dont know how LG is still in business, and why LG does not care their customers at all. All they care is about themselves, selling fancy looking product that not last more than 3 years, then selling spare parts at unbelievable high prices. I will not buy LG products and no more...

Placed 1/2 load of towels in washer, started machine, then went shopping. Upon return washer door was open, water was pouring out of the door, and the towels were all over the floor. Apparently, this happened soon after we left because the washroom was flooded, the hallway was flooded, the bedroom was flooded, and the basement had the equivalent of an inch of water everywhere, it had even streamed into the garage through the wall from the washroom. After calling LG we were told the machine was out of warranty and to call an LG repairman. He was not available for two weeks. After performing extensive diagnostics in conjunction with LG tech support, he was advised that the machine checked out in all respects, but that LG recommended replacing the main board and both inlet valves at a cost for parts of over $500 plus labor. We could use the machine, but recommended that we not leave the house. We have had a number of repairs to the machine for the door not locking and have expensive switches replaced. Over $500 in repairs in the first two years. Now the machine is 4 years old and they want more money (see above) for repairs. Consumer Reports currently rates LG as the top front loader. We cannot understand how this can be an honest report, because our experience with these products and with LG has been abysmal. We noticed that on searching for LG washer problems, we came across three other reports under Consumer Reviews describing exactly our problem. LG told its repairman they had no other reports of such a problem, which obviously was a direct lie since we found three on our first search. Our order number on this machine from Home Depot is ** It was paid for on 6/22/11, and delivered on 6/28/11.

I purchased an 4.5 cu. ft. Ultra Large Capacity Top Load Washer Featuring Powerful Stain Care Technology Model: WT4870CW in March 2014, in addition to the companion dryer. I purchased this product as reviews had been good, and the price was right. It has been the worst machine I have ever owned. In spite of trying various settings, and contacting the manufacturer, clothes just dont get clean, and even today, linens that I took out had more stains on them than when they went in. The clothes dont agitate, and even if you use a setting that adds more water, the clothes just dont move around. They come out in the same position as when you loaded the machine. Forget using a water-saving setting - the clothes are barely damp. The machine will go off balance if there is anything, even one item, that is of a different weight. It resets itself endlessly. I miss my old Maytag and cant wait for a reason to get rid of the LG Washer. The drier is also a problem, but I guess I can live with wrinkled clothes more than I can with dirty ones. Dont buy an LG.

We bought our top loading washer from Home Depot about 4 years ago. Thank goodness we invested in the extended warranty at the urging of the Home Depot salesman. I am sure he had heard many complaints about this brand. We had the washer less than a year and the drum broke. It took more than 11 days to get the washer fixed. I have 6 kids. Think of the laundry! Nightmare! The customer service could care less that having a broken washer was a huge inconvenience. Also, what does that say that MANY people were having issues with their machine and the wait list for service took 2 weeks?Fast forward 1 year and now we are dealing with a broken pump and the washer will not drain. We are on day 14 with a broken washer. The part has been ordered but LG did not rush it so we are literally at the mercy of freight shipping. We still have those 6 children. Laundry = Nightmare! Aside from the mechanical failures, the washer does not get our clothes as clean as our old, top loading washer that we had for 18 years. We often have dark brown mold splotched streaked across our clothes, sheets and towels. I bleach a lot and the musty mold is still an issue. I am continually cleaning the mold from the rubber seal. This is an awful appliance. Very disappointing! It is an expensive piece of junk. I do not recommend anyone purchase an LG washer unless you are a glutton for punishment.

Purchased a new LG refrigerator and glass top LG range from Lowes, Kailua Kona in 09/2016. From day 1 the range was faulty. Burners flickered on and off every 2 seconds regardless of how high unit was set. Store said this was normal. Shortly after, the outside coil to one of the larger burners stopped working. Refrigerator - we were not aware of a slow leak inside the water dispenser until rust appeared at the rim of the dispenser and caused the stainless steel film to come off. In researching online it is known that LG is aware of the refrigerator water dispenser issues. We did have the range repaired while under warranty but because we were not aware of the slow leak in the fridge we will need to cover the $800 cost to replace door and dispenser ourselves. This is unfair given LG is aware they sold an appliance with a defective water/ice dispenser.

Appliance group discounts promotion at Home Depot for matching set of fridge, stove, dishwasher. I dont think LG appliances are very durable whereas Kenmore, Frigidaire, Maytag, etc. last longer. Ice and water dispenser combo on door makes it easy to get a drink but also drips or leaks as outages. Cartridge change for water filter not convenient to access to change and is costly. I am SOOO disappointed with my LG experience. We have a refrigerator, oven, dishwasher, washer and dryer. We have had problems with ALL of them, but the worst with the fridge and oven. We even have trouble with our LG Tv and Blu-ray player! I thought we made a smart decision with choosing LG 7 years ago, because they were the latest technology and trend. My best friend had bought all LG the year before and was happy with it. But then the problems start (even with her). I have way too much to say if I speak of all the products, so I will focus on the fridge. The fridge stopped cooling with no warning whatsoever when it was 4 years old. We had to scramble to get a couple coolers with ice to save all our groceries.I called LG but they wanted to charge an outrageous amount just for the service call, about $80 and they said that doesnt include fixing it. So if their estimate would be too high and I would want to go with someone else, they still get $80. So I called a local company who specializes in LG. Their service fee was only $25. They came out and said it was either the compressor or a relay. If it is the compressor, it would be about $800, which is half the price of my $1600 fridge. Thankfully it was the relay, which was $125. But they can only guarantee the part for one year. Worst of all, they didnt have the part on hand and had to order it. We lived with no fridge, out of a cooler, for 3 weeks!Sure enough, 2 years later, same thing happens right when we return from vacation. Thank God it didnt happen while we were away! So once again, everything is melting and we have to scramble to save the food. This time they put a stronger relay, so it was $150, plus the $25 service fee, and they happened to have it, so the silver lining was we only lived out of a cooler for two days. But the tech said the compressor is extremely weak and I am lucky if I get another year or two max out of the fridge before it dies. At that point the fridge was only 6 and a half years old!! I simply dont have the energy to fight with LG because of all the bad reviews I see on the customer service. So I want to warn all the consumers out there to prevent this from happening to them. Choose another brand. On a side note, my stove/oven stopped working 6 weeks after the fridge went out the first time. Great timing lol. The digital panel stopped working after the numbers started fading months before. Well, because its digital, you cant turn anything on. I wish I still had the old school one with the knobs because the digital panel cost $250! Thats half the price of the oven. And of course only one year guarantee on the part. Thankfully, its been almost three years and so far so good. But if it happens again, I dont want to invest that much again into this piece of junk. How can LG be okay with doing business this way?! And of course this stuff happens once its out of warranty. We live paycheck to paycheck, so when this stuff happens, it really hurts us. We thought investing in high end products would pay off in the end, but we worked hard to pay off over $5,000 over a few years and got screwed :-(. I did not get extended warranties because I believe if the company makes good products I shouldnt need to. What happened to products lasting?? I sound like my mother lol but they really dont make things with pride, like they used to. Her 20 year old fridge is still going strong! If LG sees this, they should offer me some kind of credit out of good faith, but I have low expectations. At least I can warn the innocent consumers who work hard for their money.

I was very excited and purchased all brand new LG appliances in late 2016 after purchasing a new home. The dishwasher has 3 racks and after 4 months the top brackets are supposed to be adjustable and do not stay upright. They are supposed to clip into brackets and have come apart. In addition, there are 6 spots on the upper and lower rack that have been burned and are completely falling apart. This was a very high end dishwasher and will not buy another LG. My brand new stainless French door refrigerator with 2 freezer drawers is also a disappointment. The side areas have broken apart and I have taped them together. First, I like the fridge. Its attractive and when it works, it works great. However, the sealed refrigerant system, isnt. The week after the 1 year warranty ended, it stopped getting cold. Fine. Repair guy comes and refills refrigerant (didnt both checking for leaks or question how a sealed system lost its refrigerant). As expected, a few months later it dies again. He comes back and refills it, AND finds a leak which he repairs and replaces the compressor. Fast forward another year. Fridge dies again, and the saga with LG Customer support begins. I call. Explain the situation. The nice gentleman takes my info, says hes going to request a warranty extension to cover it. Then I wait. And wait. And wait.I call back two weeks later to inquire as to whats going on. Evidently he had misfiled it, so they had to start over. New guy takes the same info, insists Ill have to pay for repairs, but (after I demanded) said hed put in a request, but that I should get a call back 72 hours later. I give it a week and call back. Person I talk to says its still not decided and should get a call back Thursday (that was a Monday). Another week... I call the following Monday. Its now been over a month since I first called. Im told that my request for warranty coverage was denied, and after I asked, he tells me that it was decided last Thursday. At this point, I become unhinged and unload on the poor call center guy (I feel bad about this part) about how disrespectful it is that they cant be bothered to inform me of the status at ANY point along the way, nor follow up like they say theyre going to, and demanded to know what they were going to do about making this right. He gets his supervisor to override the decision and Im getting coverage finally. Great. They send the work order to a repair place in Los Angeles (Im up near Santa Barbara) and tell me that theyll be there the next day between 8-12. Next day, no show. Maybe I misheard him so I wait another day. No show. So I call back to ask whats going on.Evidently, the appointment was declined. So nice of them to let me know before I took time off work to wait for the guy. Fine... When can I get another one? to which they provide me with a phone number for the repair place (Repair place has 1 star on Yelp with 30 reviews btw, so you know Im expecting greatness... #sarcasm).I call repair place for the appointment, and they tell me the code they have from LG to cover the repair is no good, and Ill need to show the original purchase receipt. I understand having to show the receipt, except that LG knows from our history with them that Im the original owner. Ok fine, Ill dig that out, but what about the authorization code? They dont seem to be able to explain who is supposed to get that squared away. On the plus side, the repair guy did show up for the second appointment and determined that the compressor was shot. Now we have to wait AGAIN for LG to decide whether to replace it or the entire unit. For comparisons sake, heres how this SHOULD have gone down: 1. I call them. Tell them the history (which they already have) and explain the current situation. 2. They apologize profusely for the trouble, and the several fridges full of food Ive lost, and promise to get someone out ASAP. 3. Within 2 days, a repair guy shows up, determines its a similar/related problem. 4. LG offers to replace the entire fridge since this one is a lemon.

We bought a new LG fridge with our home and it lasted about 6 months. Quit making ice. I called LG and they determined the compressor was failing after a month of service calls. They ordered parts, canceled my appointment 2x, finally someone shows up and says, We’ll I don’t think the compressor is bad. We said, Well 2 other people said it is so replace it like youre told. He did and it failed. The fridge never got cold. Ruined all the food inside overnight and when we pulled it out he had damaged the back panel. Called the repair group and was told they couldn’t come back out. It was up to Lg. Again called and jumped through all the hoops with Lg and now we’re waiting another week with no fridge or freezer. Had to go out and buy a chest freezer. They don’t care at all. Do not buy a LG fridge!!!!

My LG refrigerators performance is very good. I already had this for 2 years and no incident occurs. There are plenty of room on the refrigerator, but the freezer size is a little small (I have side by side).

Well LG you have a lot on your plate right now and thousands of consumers without refrigerators due to your faulty compressor problems. Mine has been out since last Wednesday and LG cannot find anyone to service their product even their LG technicians aren’t available. Living out of 3 coolers and had to buy a box freezer. Now on my way to buy a used refrigerator because not knowing how long this issue is going to take! Was reassured that I would be reimbursed for buying the box freezer, food spoilage and old refrigerator. My case was sent to regional manager and being review while being told I’d be called back in 3 to 5 business days with a resolution to replace or give me my money back if I pass the review and if they cannot find anyone to come out and fix it. I don’t want to ever own another LG product let alone have them come out and replace the compressor with the same faulty issues to have it break down again in which it would. I also have a 1,000 dollar LG dishwasher and 6 months ago the top digital touch board went out! 1 year later! They replaced that and praying it doesn’t go out again. So now playing the waiting game. Don’t buy LG. Appliances will never be made the same way that they were years ago in the 70’s and 80’s to last a lifetime. I have reviewed just about every brand out there and all I find is garbage reviews!! What the hell can you buy that’s reliable anymore!

I have a twin door LG refrigerator. The small bar that opens and closes between the two doors has a small torsion spring that broke. They will not sell the spring but will sell the entire new piece for $80. So they want me to spend $80 for a $.50 part. This is the second door part that has failed, the first was a closer latch which they did carry. I guess I should have read the reviews on LG before I bought it. I will never any LG product again. Im not sure how a company can continue to stink with this many one star reviews.

Spent approx. 8000.00 on new high-end kitchen appliances 5.5 years ago (all LG) the dishwasher was very quiet but didnt clean as well as our old Maytag but I understand they use less water and so on. We bought the 4 year extended warranty. 2 years in we noticed that stains on our utensils and found that our upper rack had rusted out. We called future shop and they sent us to the repair company. The repairman came out looked at it and ordered a new rack. 4 months he showed up with a rack and while putting it in he broke it. He said he would have to reorder. After 6 months and endless phone calls he told me due to poor service from LG he is no longer fixing LG products. I took my rusted out rack to future shop and told them to exchange it with one out of their units... They would not do it. 2 weeks later I had a new rep with a new rack. Only took almost 1 year for a new rack. 4 years in I noticed water on the floor under my fridge. Found the factory water line on the back of the fridge was split. Called for service. They said 2 weeks before they could look at it. I gave the repairman the part # of the piece I needed. He told me LG makes him go there to physically diagnose the issue... Are you kidding me... The hose is split. I went to the hardware store bought a piece of water line and installed it myself. 6 buck fix. Now my dishwasher pump has packed it in warranty ended 3 months ago. Estimated repair 500 dollars. A new Maytag dishwasher is 700 so going to add to the landfill 1 great looking LG piece of crap.

I purchased an LG washer and dryer several years ago. I absolutely hate them, but they cost a small fortune, so I am not ready to buy new ones. Here are my complaints: my clothes never get cleaned; it doesnt use enough water to get them cleaned! They always have a mildew smell. Now my detergent draw will not open. It is stuck for about a month, but it would eventually open. From all the complaints I have been reading, why has the Better Business Bureau (BBB) not gotten involved? My sister bought an LG refrigerator, and she also had multiple problems with it! I will not be buying another LG product!

I chose to buy it because it was a good price and the correct size and color, and also the LG refrigerator met my initial expectations. The LG refrigerator had basic features. For example, it kept my food very chilly, nice and cold but not too cold. Just right I would say. The only thing I dont like about really any refrigerator is that they dont have a self clean option.

We bought two new LG washing machines, one for our daughter and one for us
We bought two new LG washing machines, one for our daughter and one for us in 2010. Last year, after 6 years, our daughters LG washing machine broke down. This year, yesterday, our 7 year old LG washing machine broke down - in each case it was the motor - you could hear the defective motor. The motors are specifically labeled on the machines as being guaranteed for 10 years. We went out and bought a Samsung washing machine and dryer the same day as the breakdown, expecting the LG dryer at 7 years was not reliable either. Oh yes. There are only the two of us - retired man and wife - living in the house so the machines are not used that much. If we were a family with small kids, the washing machine doubtless would have broken down much sooner. I wonder if the executives running the LG operation are reading these consumer posts? They should. Word gets around.
