Three months ago I moved into a home with newer LG appliances. Recently, the freezer and refrigerator stopped keeping the food frozen or even cold. This was on Friday evening, so I searched online for possible solutions. I found a YouTube video of someone with the same fridge as I who had the same problem and he solved it by unplugging the fridge and plugging it back in. We did that, but it did not get colder. On Saturday I called the 1-800 number listed in the Smart Diagnosis section of the manual, hoping for this to tell me what was wrong and get it repaired quickly. The employee who answered the phone said they did not have the software to do this. He could send out a technician, but nobody would be available until after the weekend. I had to take the day off work to stay at home, waiting, only to be told that the technician didnt have a new compressor with him. He said he would order one, and although it would be here the next day, the technician didnt have the availability to come back until three days later. By this time, we had to throw away literally everything in both the fridge and freezer. Hundreds of dollars worth of food, not to mention all of the money spent having to eat at restaurants because of the spoiled food.Another day off work and the technician was able to replace the compressor. Thankfully it was still under warranty. He told us to wait until the next day to fill it with anything that needs to be cold as to ensure it is working correctly. He said that he hadnt had a replaced compressor fail yet. We waited 48 hours before we went back to the grocery store to fully replace what we had lost. That was yesterday.Today, I noticed the ice melting and dripping through the dispenser. I call the 1-800 number yet again, and am told, yet again, that Smart Diagnosis is unable to be used because of the lack of software. Unfortunately this time the employee says that she is unable to schedule a technician to visit because that is unavailable to her. When asked to speak with a supervisor I was told that there wasnt anyone available, but someone from the corporate office would contact me within 72 hours. 72 hours? No supervisor or manager available for simple customer service? UNACCEPTABLE!! This appliance needs to be replaced, not bandaged with defective parts. Parts fail, I understand that, but the level of customer service from LG has me unwilling to ever buy another LG appliance.

Before I called for service regarding my problem with my LG range, I read the reviews here and they really scared me. I almost decided not to bother calling them at all with my concern. But I did and was EXTREMELY happy with the results. Customer service answered my call after only a short wait and the rep put me through to the dispatch office who set up an appointment with a local repair company, gave me a service ticket number, phone number for the local company in case of a problem. The repair company came 2 days later (we live out in the boonies!) and fixed the problem at NO COST, as LG gave me this one free service call. I was amazed. Problem solved quickly and easily. Thank you LG!!

I thought I made a good deal on my washer top loader but it was just awful. Ive been with a washer that Sears has replaced practically every part on washer. The brand is a horrible gone wrong. Sears should of replaced on the 3rd time washer broke down and I should of given a new washer with a better brand for washer? Defect with time? Im a customer over 45 years and I shouldnt have been taken care of.

All of our appliances are LG. Within the last few months, all of our appliances have started to go out. First, our Dishwasher stops draining water after a wash. The buttons on our microwave stopped working, the stove not only takes forever to heat up but the stovetop burner turns back on by itself after we shut it off. Can you say dangerous! I dont know what would have happened the first time if we had not caught it. We could have all been dead. Now our refrigerator wont keep anything cold but the freezer is still working. This is so disappointing because I was so excited about all of these appliances.

We purchased an LG French door fridge, stove and microwave in April 2016, by August 2016 the fridge no longer worked. We have been living out of coolers constantly having to buy ice for the past month. Spending lots of money eating out because I cant go grocery shopping. 2 techs have been out for repair, but have yet to fix the compressor which they both say is out. It is now September 2016 and I still have no working fridge. We paid $2583.50 for a fridge that lasted 4 months. After reading other peoples experiences here I now know that I have wasted a big amount of my money as I have had the same experience with Lg customer service. Long waits on the phone, no type of care or concern about having a customer fridge less for a month now, even after I told them we have a son whos medication must be refrigerated. No compensation offered whatsoever. None given when requested either. Their customer service line is horrible. They do not care about their customers at all.I have never reviewed any product because I have never had the need to do so. Everything always works just as promised. We had our previous fridge 12 years without a single repair made to it (kenmore) only replaced to this LG because kitchen was remodeled and wanted a new look. BIG MISTAKE - we made with our choice. Do NOT waste your money. LG products are NO good. Stay away.

I am having the same problem as others stated about it stopping in the middle of loads. Ive been doing the same load for 4 hours now, still not done. The washer is only about 3 or 4 years old. And dont even ask me about the LG TV fiasco. Still waiting after 1 1/2 YEARS for them to call me back with a repairman. Dead pixels right out of box. LG claims they have no repair people in our area. I will never buy another LG product and tell my story with everyone I can.

LG model LFX2596ST 3-door refrigerator freezer with in-door ice maker. The 5/16 inch tubing from the water fill valve at bottom back of unit to top of unit split shortly after warranty expired. I cut out bad section and spliced in new piece. About 2 weeks later, leaking again from just above splice. This has repeated till now. My only option is to replace the entire tube from fill valve to ice maker. I cant afford to have a service tech do this, so will attempt myself. I have been unable to find instructions for this online. Last LG appliance I will ever own.

I bought a LG refrigerator. Now 5 years old. It quit working. Started by calling the 800 number for LG repair. That was on July 27th 2020. Getting a call center out of the United States. They were very nice for the most part. A little hard to understand. I started getting texts with repair service would be in touch. I would wait and not hear anything. Call again. Again promise I would hear from them. This has gone on mind you since July, 27th 2020. Not getting anything done. I paid $100 for a service call. Was told there is a leak in the Freon line and maybe a fan problem. So again I call the 800 number. Was told I would get a email to send the proof of purchase. What they know I have it. I got all the information ready. As of today Oct. 28th of Oct nothing has happened. Thank You for letting me vent.

Unfortunately after only 4 years we got rid of the LG. The interior shelves broke one after the other until we replaced them not once but twice and they were expensive. We purchased the suite of LG appliances and got rid of them in 4 years. Refrigerator froze everything that was close to the back of the fridge. Would love to review the stove for you. I just called LG to try and warranty my french door refrigerator with a broken compressor. I purchased my unit Aug. 2012, and I am well within my 10 year warranty. Heck, Im still within the 7 year warranty for the other parts that will need to be replaced when they repair the compressor. They transferred me to their affiliated repair company and they want $1000.00 to fix my unit. If Im under warranty, why do I have to pay that much for something that is guaranteed to break again, from reading all these comments???? $1k I might as well use that money for a new unit, not LG!

We shopped around a little bit then it came down to which one we liked in terms of aesthetics. We chose LG pretty much for the features. Its a beautiful refrigerator and I like the visibility of the program, the temperature and those type of things. But our experience has not been good so far. The top part stopped cooling and then apparently, something happened with the ice getting blocked. Im not sure how that actually happened but we had to turn it off and take the ice out. It was a little bit of a pain. But the repair guy was really great and the customer service was good other than the fact that they overbooked the guy to come out that day. He was a little late. But he was able to fix the issue and hopefully, it stays okay. If not, well have to call LG back.

The fridge has great cooling system, very practical design plus the aesthetics fit my taste. The height is just perfect for someone petite. It also has cold savers and french doors. It was more affordable compared to the other brands with the specifics that I wanted. It has add ons, it is also very durable. It has definitely met my expectations with all the bells and whistles. But I wish the organizing bins were adjustable. Temperature per shelf adjustable, a roll out shelf, easy to remove and clean bins, an area where we can put odor neutralizer. That would really be helpful

Last Friday night at 6:00, I discovered that the food in my refrigerator was getting warm. The thermostat said 37 degrees in the refrigerator and 0 degrees in the freezer, but food was warm in the refrigerator and things in the freezer were melting. I started calling appliance repair services. Most were closed at 6 PM but the ones who did answer said, Sorry, but we cant work on LG appliances. I asked, Why not? I was told, Because LG will NOT ALLOW us to be a part of their service network and LG will NOT let us buy parts. The repair services said that they had filled out apps and had been jumping through hoops for LG for 1-2 years without success. Because of LGs policies, I lost $400-500 worth of food and am FORCED TO BUY A NEW REFRIGERATOR. Today, Monday, the other repair services that I had left messages for Friday night have been returning my calls and ALL OF THEM told me the very same thing about LG service policies. LG forces customers to call LG and LG sends a repair person (you have to wait days) who charges 2-3 times the going rate, and LG charges sky high prices for parts. The repair services said to buy a Whirlpool, Amana or Kenmore instead because parts are readily available and less expensive. Whirlpool donates to Habitat for Humanity, too. GE parts are the highest, except for LG.

I purchased my LG refrigerator in February 2017. (Note: it is not yet 3 years old.) I absolutely love the refrigerators features: The 3 drawers in the bottom freezer, the ice/water dispenser and maker in the door, the large, wide door shelves, the separate crisper drawer. (BTW, I still love their design.) The problems with this refrigerator began 2 years after purchasing it. Since then, this less-than-3-year-old refrigerator has completely stopped cooling 3 separate times. We have replaced all the parts in the entire cooling system: the compressor, the evaporator, the filter dryer, and a service valve. It has cost us many hundreds of dollars in labor costs, parts, and food loss. It just broke on us for the last time. We are chucking this lemon and buying a new Not-LG refrigerator. If you look online, you will see a class action suit against LG due to their cooling system issues. LG has known that the design of their refrigerator cooling system is faulty, and they have continued to sell them without addressing their design problems. Once the first year of use is behind you, you must pay for these repairs. In my opinion, LG does not deserve your business. More importantly, you DO NOT WANT an LG! No one wants this much malfunction and trouble.

We purchased the LG refrigerator in September of 2016. In July of 2018. The LG failed to cool intermittently. Over the course of a week, service was sent and could not find a problem. The issue appeared to resolve spontaneously. Exactly a year later we are having the same problem. We have completed the ridiculous instructions to unplug the power for 2 hours, then wait 24-48 hours to see if cools. We can expect service in 10 days. This is unacceptable, LG knows of the poor performance of this refrigerator and has failed to take appropriate action to resolve the problems in a timely manner.

We purchased LG dishwasher model LDF8072ST from Best Buy, along with an LG refrigerator, range, microwave, washing machine and dryer. 6 new appliances. Spending thousands of dollars with LG. Our dishwasher has not worked for months. We have called LG numerous times, e mailed LG (never once have I received an email response), and chatted online with LG. 9 NINE calls to LG to schedule service. Many more calls to discuss. Service scheduled 7 times. Service only showed 5 times. Hours on phone waiting, taking work off waiting for techs, twice no shows. Service tech says there is nothing else he can do. Clearly a defective lemon. Submitted a defective return request. Time quoted for resolution has passed. Nothing from LG. Tried calling again. Given the usual run around. We have been all summer without a dishwasher (4 months). Will never buy LG products again. Have never had such poor customer service. We supplied ALL the documentation of every call, every service report. LG is non responsive and letting the original warranty run out. I want to now file a suit against them.

I purchased, in good faith, a new LG refrigerator (side by side) for over $2,200. The cooling system began degrading and I lost all contents in the fridge. The worst part of the experience is that LG did not provide support after many calls. I could not even connect with a senior leader in the company - all reps indicated their policy is to not provide contact information of any senior leader. I could not believe this. They did not care that I spent a great deal of money and faith in their product and the product failed and, they would not even stand behind it. Finally, after several weeks, they sent someone to examine it and made some changes. However, within a week, the temp increased back up to about 60 degrees. They would not send someone back out reasonably quickly, so I contacted a repair service. They came out a few months ago and replaced the compressor. All was fine until, once again, the temp began rising; this time over 65 degrees. I have been trying to get hold of someone who can help me at LG at no avail. I do not typically write reviews about products online (unless positive); however, I feel I have some level of responsibility to you and others to suggest you NOT buy an LG product. The product is not dependable and the service is even worse. Unless youre willing to part with a substantial part of your hard-earned money, consider another brand.

I purchased by LG refrigerator from Home Depot in September 2018. Waited for delivery, all seemed fine. About 6 weeks later the door alarm started going off for no reason. Called LG customer service at 10 p.m. They cant help me, I have to call Home Depot! Called Home Depot. They hooked me up with repair service because its under warranty. However, they cant come out to look at it for over a week! Guess Ill have to wait and hear a door chime every 30 seconds and my Led light on all the time for a week!!! Ok, can do that. Now my water dispenser wont work, disconnected the water supply so that wont cause a problem. Ok can deal with that. Today, just 5 more days to technician time. Now the refrigerator is freezing my refrigerator drawer food and melting everything else. Contacted LG customer support and told them my story, they responded with THANK YOU. REALLY thank you for what, your crappy customer service!! NEVER WILL BUY LG AGAIN!!!

I purchased a top of the line LG stainless washer and dryer a few years ago and both appliances are poor quality. I would not recommend LG to anyone. It has been a frustrating experience, as they are malfunctioning more than they are working! Last year, I waited for months just to get the right parts and then they break down again. My washer is continuously leaking in various places. Service technicians have told me I would be better off with a Kenmore! Very disheartening after spending so much money because you feel you are buying quality. This is surely not the case!

Purchased Lsc5683ws electric range from Goemans Appliances, Cambridge in January 2010. Cost was $1650++. Electrics failed in October 2013. Paid $175.00 for service call and repair. Three weeks later exact same problem. It was fixed again. Used the self clean for the 3rd time only. After completion noticed the blue enamel was coming off. Also had a very strong smell when turned on. March 2015 unit shut down completely. No electronics again, but this time the oven kept heating. Guessing temperature was over 500 degrees. Had to unplug at wall to cut power supply. Feeling very vulnerable to starting a fire. Spent approximately 2-3 hours on phone with LG customer service in the Philippines. Was cut off twice. Uploaded required invoice as requested. Phoned again 2 days later. Sent invoice again. Still waiting on response from advanced team as to what (if anything) they will do for me. Returned to store for help, but they offer no help unless you have purchased their extra insurance. This situation is appalling to me. Do not buy LG. What a waste of money and time.

We purchased a Kenmore Model 79551833412 side by side refrigerator that was manufactured for Sears by LG. This units compressor failed after 17 months. I came to learn there was a class action lawsuit filed against LG for this same issue which unfortunately was dismissed. Because my mother in law is 88 years old and the estimated cost of repair was nearly the cost of a new refrigerator we chose to purchase her a new refrigerator rather than wait for it to be repaired. Sears says their warranty is only one year but the Sears rep said that the manufacturer provides a longer warranty on the compressor but labor would not be included. I purchased washer from Sears on 3/21/13. It is now 6/15/13 and the washer has been out of service for 8 weeks. It is always the same problem, the computer board. The first time it went out, the service person came out and said it would be 10 days to get the parts shipped. It worked for 2 days before going out again. This time, it again took 10 days to get the parts shipped. This worked for 1 day before it went out again. The service guy called and said it was another part and had it shipped another 10 days. When it got here, the service guy said it was the wrong part, so now another 10 days for the parts to ship. In between scheduling for someone to actually come out and repair the machine was always a couple more days. I called LG USA directly and was basically told nothing. Not even a Sorry for your trouble. Their response was that there was nothing that they could do. Apparently, once you buy an LG product, you are on your own. They already have your money so they dont care about anything else. If you see an LG appliance, run away, run far, run fast. Just stay as far away from it as possible. I remodeled my house and brought 4 LG products. Microwave for over the range, sitting in my living room, home alone and heard a noise. I go into the kitchen to find the handle of the microwave on the floor, repairman man said it was cracked. Microwave was 1 month old. Dishwasher 2 mo. old, the latch cracked and had to be replaced. Range, oven door almost fell off, missing 2 screws. The best for last, my horror story of the French door fridge, needed twice to replace the motherboard (I think it came from China?), the freezer door did not lock well, escaping cold air, the ice maker had to be replaced. I had put hardwood all thru the house including the kitchen. I now have some leak coming from the bottom of the fridge, it is now ruining my hardwood. The appliance man will be out this Tuesday. All appliances were purchased the same day and 3 out of 4 had issues within the first month. I was looking to see if there were any recalls or class actions suits. These product in my case were just terrible, even the stainless steel has an issue. I put my old Amana fridge in the garage, mine is about 20 years old and still works like a charm. I WILL NEVER BUY AN LG PRODUCT, life is good my foot. Had to take off work numerous times to have items fixed. I think I goofed and purchased LG instead of GE, mapping the price.

We bought our LG fridge (model # LBC22520SW /03) new back in 2011 (it was on back-order at the time, because apparently many others were duped into purchasing this piece of junk). It is now one year old. I never knew an appliance could simultaneously be so cheap and yet so expensive. The first time I had to call the repairman was three months after the purchase (he didnt even call me back until two days later; by that time, I had fixed the stupid thing myself). The problem, ironically, is that the freezer fan cannot operate under cold conditions. We cant use our ice maker or it will make the fan freeze over, which in turn makes the freezer and fridge stop working. But it doesnt stop there! If we fill our freezer 1/4 full with food, it makes the freezer too cold and the fan will freeze over, and again the fridge stops working. But wait, theres more ... Weve now lowered the freezer temperature to its lowest setting, but apparently thats still too cold for this cheap fan to handle. Thawing the fan with boiling water has now become an activity that we must do twice daily. Weve lost hundreds of dollars worth of food, not to mention the overpriced cost of the fridge to begin with. Do yourself a favor and dont buy an LG fridge!

Purchased LMXS30776S/02 fridge from H. H. Gregg in May of 2016, actually delivered in July. We were replacing a 10-year old Frigidaire gallery/professional side-by-side that was difficult to open fully due to our kitchen configuration. Aside from an occasional evaporator fan failure ($10.00 and 20 minute fix for a novice like myself), it never gave us a single problem and was a beautiful unit. The salesman raved about the durability of the LG linear compressor. We opted for a 5-year extended warranty (which is now defunct as the company that services this will not answer customer requests via their web page... which is the only form of contact). It began on 04/16/2019 and ended in the complete lack of cooling sometime around midnight. The fan is running, compressor is running but noisy, no cooling, coils room temperature. I attempted to contact LG, but they dont answer the phone... They send you a troubleshooting email and then refer you to expensive 3rd party repair services once out of the 1 year (criminal) parts and labor warranty. Looking at parts, a compressor for an average fridge (in a kit with isolators, drier, harnesses, valve, etc) is around $150.00 for the average Electrolux/Frigidaire or equivalent. Sure, there is some soldering. The same bare compressor for the LG is nearly $400.00 (because you can charge what the market will bear, forget being fair). The drier is an additional $60.00. Im guessing that installation is basically going to be less than the total of the parts as is customary, and then there is the charge for vacuuming it down and installing the 4.76oz of R134 refrigerant. Not to mention the warped subfloor under our fridge from the ice in the ice maker melting everywhere and the loss of a few hundred dollars in groceries. Again, criminal. There was a class-action lawsuit, however our fridge was brand new when this witch hunt began, so we had no reason to look for such a thing. Now that it has failed prematurely, I learn that warranties were extended for the few rather than the many. All in all, Id like to thank LG for being so classy about ignoring this issue and the customers who paid a small fortune hoping that you actually do get what you pay for or at least be treated fairly when a problem did arise... just to find out that a college dorm fridge was probably a better deal. Thanks, LG. I hope your reputation eventually catches up with you!

I have a 2 year old white French door refrigerator on which much of the plastic has yellowed: ice maker surround and trim on doors and drawers. As others have reported, we now have expensive ugly refrigerators and LG refuses to correct the problem, calling it cosmetic. I wonder how many LG execs would happily live with this cosmetic problem. Good plastic does not yellow; vinyl fences look great for many years despite constant exposure to sunlight when they are made of UV-resistant vinyl. LG just made a serious error in plastic selection and does not care enough about their customers to fix it or rebate our cost. So I am reminded every day why I will never buy another LG product and will tell everyone I can to stay away from LG.

Purchased a LG Refrigerator from Home Depot in July of 2012. Within probably a month, I had to call the company and have them come and service the freezer as it was completely frosted up. I did not find the person on the phone to be polite at all and pretty much implied that I had done something to make the freezer frost up. That problem was fixed and I have not had any further issues with the freezer. However, the plastic shelves are pretty much all broken as well as the plastic drawers. I called the company on two occasions to complain about this and once again I felt that the phone staff were very rude. I told them that all the shelves were broken so they sent me one shelf. Doesnt do me much good as they are all broken and some of the support for the shelves to sit on are also broken. I would never, ever, ever purchase a LG product again. Their support staff not very polite or helpful and the product is horrible.

Four and a half years ago, we purchased a new fridge from American Appliance in Madison, WI. We looked at several models and were debating between a GE Profile and a similar LG model. We were concerned about the reliability of the LG brand and asked the salesman; he said he hadnt heard of any problems and that they were reliable. We decided to go with the LG. We started having problems last year and the main circuit board went out, which was about $500 to fix.I asked several friends if they have had trouble with any LG appliances and I was shocked at how many people I know who have had trouble with the reliability of LG. I wish Id followed my instincts and avoided the LG brand. Our fridge is now incessantly beeping, even when the door is not open. Today, it started grumbling very loudly. Im afraid Im in for another giant repair bill. I really wish wed bought the GE Profile fridge.

I purchased the top of the line Steam Front Loader approx. 3 years. ago. My wife and I are the only two that have used this washer, so it was taken care of and cleaned after every wash. I am a Machinist and work on much larger machines, so I know my medals. My wife put a normal size load in and the machine started shaking and smoking. We turned it off and opened the door and smoke filled the room. I contacted LG and explained it to them. They told me to take the machine apart and send them pictures. I did. Man was I shocked to see the cheap metal they use in their machines. It was so corroded, rusted, and full of mildew. When I went to pick up the part it broke into, in my hand. I didnt use any force on it whatsoever. With the RPM these machines put out, if we would have left it on, and it broke someone would have been badly hurt or even worse. I learned my lesson from LG. They do not service what they sell, they dont return phone calls, they will lie to you in a heartbeat. I also learned to read reviews before I purchase again... NEVER ANOTHER LG. I have learned most people that write reviews tell it the way it really is.

I liked all the extra features the refrigerator offered. My lg had an automatic ice dispenser that gave crushed ice or cubed ice and also gave water. I liked that I could choose between crushed ice and ice cubes. I like to be able to get crushed ice for my drinks. When I drink soda and water I like crushed ice. When I make mixed drinks and daiquiris its easier to not have to crush the ice myself for so long. The temperature was not always the easiest to control though. Sometimes the refrigerator got too cold and my vegetables got frost on them. When I turn it down too low the vegetables all spoiled too quickly.

LG will do nothing about it and I have been on the phone with them for over 6 hours trying to get help. Please buy any other brand except Samsung. I think they are the same. I call the LG phone and they answer its Samsung. The refrigerator is in the garage right in front of the LG convection oven that they could not repair 2 years ago. We purchased an LG French Door Refrigerator with water & ice maker in November 2009. We recently had problems with both the fridge & the freezer not cooling. We bought the fridge from Sears, so we spoke to the Sears parts service & told them what the issues were. They suggested a part that they felt would solve the problem. So we ordered the part & put it in. This part did not help the situation. After 2 days, the fridge stopped working all together. We lost all the food in the fridge & the freezer. We called a local repairman to come & look at it. He said there was a leak of freon in the seal system. It was not something he could fix. He said that in the 40 years he has serviced refrigerators, this was the only time he came across this issue. Especially with a 5.5 yr. old unit.So we called LG & they said they would replace the seal system, but we would have to pay the labor since their 1 year warranty ran out. The repairman had told us that they would have to take the fridge apart completely to find the leak, if they could indeed find it & that it could take hours to do. We explained all this to LG & said that was all they could do for us. Really? We paid $2000 for the unit & it is 5.5 yrs old. I would think something that was supposedly worth that kind of money would last much longer than that & LG would be willing to do more to rectify the situation. Dont buy an LG product! They dont live up to their name!

Purchased a LG refrigerator in 2017. On Thursday morning 5/21 it just stopped working. No freezer no refrigerator. I immediately called customer service to set up a service call, that was Thursday morning. I was told by the service representative that the service technician would call me back within 24 to 48 hours with a time and date for the service call. I called then this morning 5/22 to double check on the information I had given them because there was some confusion with my contact phone number. I was informed by the new customer service person that the service call had been accepted and then rejected. When I inquired as to what that meant he told me that there is no one available in my area to service the refrigerator. When I asked him to explain what that meant he said that the compressor needs a technician with special training to repair the problem and they could not find one. I dont live in the middle of nowhere, there is a city of 900,00 thirty minutes from my house so I am not sure why they had no problem selling the refrigerator to me but they dont have the resources to repair it. I was told that it would probably be next week before someone would be out to fix the problem. From what the customer service representative stated it is most likely the compressor, after three year of use the compressor went out. I just purchased a new freezer after the old one died and it was thirty five years old, this one goes out in three years. This is the last LG product that I will ever buy, unfortunately this has been an expensive lesson.

They tell you their rules as they go along. You are treated like dirt and end up spending good money to be bullied by this dysfunctional bloviating giant. DO NOT BUY LG PRODUCTS unless you want to buy headaches. Cannot get service from them. It is almost 2 months since we got these malfunctioning machines and the service outfit has been here once and accomplished zilch. Getting them back is an exercise in futility. LG IS AN OUTFIT TO AVOID. Home Depot, where we purchased this junk should also be avoided. No one home to help a dissatisfied customer no matter how right one may be. We purchased an LG fridge about a year and a half ago. When it stopped working we called the company and it took 10 days to authorize repair. Their authorized repair person came out and said it was the compressor and he came back a week later with a new compressor. After 6 hours of trying to repair he said he put in wrong compressor. At that point LG said it sucks to be you and that they were done with us and not even a sorry that you paid 2000 for their equipment that doesnt work now and its now the responsibility of the repair person to fix it. The compressor has a 10 year warranty but that is false advertisement since it really doesnt. Their customer service rep said the fridge is no longer under warranty after a year and a half. We purchased our LGLFXS30766503 refrigerator less than 2 years ago. At the time it was the middle of July, all refrigerators were out of stock, and this model could get to us the quickest. It was not our first choice. We have had it repaired now 3 times in the past 8 months, all for the same cooling problem. The last repair they completely rebuilt the cooling system. It has been less than two weeks and it is now not cooling again. I have spent countless hours of my time, thousands of dollars to replace groceries, all for a $2,500.00 refrigerator we did not want in the first place! I have not received reimbursement for said groceries, which is part of my warranty. I do not have confidence in the abilities of LG staff or technicians. At this point I will accept nothing less than a brand new unit. I refuse to think, with todays technology a high end appliance should perform this way. Our previous Kenmore refrigerator needed zero repairs ever, and we had it for 20 years! I am extremely frustrated to say the least. I will never buy another LG appliance, and I will tell everyone I know my experience. Lifes NOT Good!

My wife and I purchased an LG refrigerator a couple of month ago (model: LFXS28968). Roughly, two weeks ago we got a code on the digital display screen indicating dH (Freezer) and F (refrigerator). I called in a repair request to your service department (the unit was still under warranty) and sent the service department both a sales receipt and a purchase order from the stored it was bought. They scheduled a service technician to come out to look at the unit. He never came to look at the unit but said he would order the part due to the nature of the display screen read out. He also told me that if the service department did not call me within three days I would be entitled to a new unit (I guess beyond that time the food would begin to spoil). After not hearing from anyone for the past three days I tried to get in touch with the technician at least five times by both cell phone and text messaging. Absolutely no response. Then, I called the service department which was no help at all. They could not get in touch with the technician nor could they trace the part which they claimed they ordered. They said they would look into it and get back in touch with me. Guess what? they never got back in touch with me. Then I had to get in touch with a supervisor who still could not reach the technician nor trace the supposed part. The next day I spoke to a different supervisor who again could not get in touch with the technician nor located the part. The next day I called and wanted to speak to a manager from the LG Corporation. Instead I spoke to another supervisor who indicated the part was ordered from Korean and was on its way.I asked her what kind of compensation would I receive for all of spoiled food (both the refrigerator and freezer). I received a mere $150.00. Instead LG could have resolved the problem by supplying me with a new unit within the three day time frame. They decided to prolong the problem and that stretched into two weeks. This has been one of the most frustrating situations I have ever been involved in. The level of incompetence, and lack of empathy towards their customers is incomprehensible. Seldom do I write reviews but this is an exception. I hope anyone who may be thinking of purchasing a LG refrigerator will do their homework on the LG brand. I will never purchase another LG product nor will I recommend this product to any of my friends.

They warranty the motor of my LG front load washer for 10 years, and my washer is 3 years and 2 months old; however getting them to come out and to process for the eventual replacement has so far taken 3 weeks. They are moving to replace because it wasnt 4 other things they replaced. They tell me since the part which was on back order for 3 weeks and suddenly arrived without warning, DURING the time period they were reviewing for my replacement which is 3-5 business days, that I have to start all over with another 3-5 business days to review for replacement YET AGAIN. Ive been 4 weeks without a washer. The customer service reps sound like robots reading from a script. They dont even sound human. This part that suddenly arrived without warning during this period when I thought I was receiving news that I could go pick up my new washer? Well, nobody even told me it was coming. The repairman, Ron, didnt even bother to tell me it had arrived at his house yesterday. He had this part and couldnt come out to my centrally located home for another week! Well, he came today and the machine still isnt working. So here I am on hold with robots, waiting for a supervisor to see if I can somehow bypass this mandatory review process which she told me wont be authorized till next Monday. That is 7 more days from today. Their service truly sucks. Nobody seems to care.

I purchased an LG washing machine 3 years ago. I have had customer service on the phone on a regular basis, which FINALLY led to them sending out several service persons, who knew NOTHING about the problem. The washer does not have enough water in the tub to even cover the clothes to be washed; I was told to use the “water plus” button to add extra water to the tub...it does nothing. Every load of my clothing being washed comes out with whitish/grey marks all over them, especially pants, workout clothes. And any fleece item washed is ruined by “scum” marks. I have complained continually, only to be told to run the “tub clean” every other week (which, by the way, is an empty tub that just washes the tub, but doesn’t really...). An incredible waste of water - especially for a washer that is supposed to conserve water. Next we were told to run the empty tub on “oxi sanitize” and add a jug of vinegar to the tub. That worked for about 3 loads. I would NEVER recommend this machine to anyone. My sister-in-law owned an LG for 29 days & turned it back in. Bring back the old tubs!! We are NOT saving any water with this machine!!!

Ive had this refrigerator (model LFC23760SW) French doors freezer on the bottom for about 4 years. I like the design of the fridge except for one reoccurring problem. I have had to replace the door gaskets 3 times in four years. Not only is this very annoying but it is costly. The issue is when the doors (left and right) come together to make a seal, the left door gasket pull away from the door and tears. This is the same issue over and over. Clearly this is a design flaw. I just recently (within 3 weeks) replaced the door gaskets and the door gasket on the left has already begin to pull away from the door. I know I cant be the only person having this issue and I was hoping the LG company has come up with a fix for this problem. Their reply to my inquiry was brief and simple, no fixes reported to customer care were available, have a nice day. I would highly suggest everyone stay away from this model and others like it. LG French Door Refrigerator LFX31925ST - Lifes not Good - Lucky Goldstar. I purchased an LG French Door Refrigerator LFX31925ST in Oct 2014. Immediately after it was delivered, the control board had to be replaced (under warranty). Shortly after the 1-year warranty expired, the unit started making a loud propeller-type noise and stopped cooling on a Friday afternoon. We had to cook the food that was thawing from freezer and throw out a lot of food from fridge. We had a bout of food poisoning from refrigerated food that apparently had spoiled, so we threw it all out. After 9 days without a refrigerator and living out of an ice chest, the unit was repaired. The one year warranty had expired however the 10-year warranty on the compressor was still valid. Only one issue, the 10-year warranty on the compressor covers the compressor part only, not the labor or coolant. So the compressor, which has a $130 cost per the tech, cost me over $250 in labor and coolant. Now, less than 90 days later, the fridge started sounding like a turboprop airplane that we cant even watch TV on the same floor. This is the same symptoms as before and after spending 30 min on the phone with LG customer service rep Carl, in the Philippines, who asked if I approved to accept charge up to $200 for service call. Are you kidding me?!? I have an appointment with service tech this week which will hopefully cover the repair under warranty. No more LG for me, ever. They are still Lucky Goldstar to me and still operate like the same company that manufactured Lucky Goldstar branded microwaves for Walmart not long ago. Anything but LG. Never again.

Its a terrible design flaw. Rust is on the hinges where no chlorine or detergent goes. I have pictures... Paint will not help. The entire under part of the area above the bin but connected to the place where you put detergent or bleach is completely rusted out and the metal is so bad. I can stick my finger through it. They sent me an email... that the rust in your washing machine bleach dispenser is a result of the detergent or other additives being spilled that have not been wiped clean. Chlorine bleach is corrosive and will erode the finish if not cleaned immediately. If any spills should happen make sure to wipe it up immediately and the area cleaned with warm water and a soft cloth. Touch-up paint maybe use to cover the area, if not service may be necessary. How could LG design a washing machine that uses bleach and detergent knowing full well that it might get on areas besides the stainless bin and get under this area and all around the entire top of the machine and rust out. That is what happened.

I just remodeled my home. They started in November, and I got to the kitchen part of it in December, and I had to go and get a new refrigerator, stove, and a microwave, so I just bought the bundle. I was gonna go with Samsung, and the lady that was at Home Depot said that LG is better and that she could give me a deal on it. I just bought the bundle of refrigerator, microwave and oven. I havent had a problem with the microwave or oven, but the refrigerator is disappointing. It was the freezer part of the refrigerator that I have a problem with. At first, I picked out one that didnt have the icemaker, and it was sold out by the time I got back to purchase it. And so, the lady set me up with the refrigerator I have now. They put it in in December, and I started having trouble and noticed some things were going on in February. Then in May, it was really not freezing the bottom half, but I like the freezer part of it. My old refrigerator had the freezer on top, and I like the bottom freezer, but it just doesnt work. I do like the icemaker feature and when it was making ice. I also like the water part of it, and then the freezer thats in the bottom. Its a nice refrigerator. It was kinda top of the line, and then the lady gave me a little bit of a discount on it, so we have then paid for it.There was a technician out here who was checking it out. LG sent him out, and they figured out it was the temperature gauge, but he said in 2020 they are coming out with the new coolant for the refrigerator. So, I dont know if that would make a difference, but it isnt gonna help me because the reason they couldnt replace that is that they said they didnt have technicians to do it, so it might be something new. Also, I just got an email from Mat, and he said theyre still figuring out whether theyre give me the refund or a replacement. I know I took a little time. I didnt know how to take pictures of my papers and download them to him. I figured that out, and I finally got it to him yesterday. He replied back that he gave it to his boss, and theyre still looking it over.

I had to get a new machine because my old one didnt fit the new space. The LG does do a pretty good job of cleaning but is loud. I would rate it as very good but not best. It is a good value for the price. I have had it for a year now. So far so good.

I just spent 1 hr and 15 minutes on the phone so LG can diagnose my brand new dishwasher--used 3 times! This piece of garbage leaves dishes filthy!!! I heard every stupid excuse why this piece of garbage wont clean. This one is good---we dont have enough water pressure--even though the machine controls the force of the jets via its internal jets. In fact, LG boasts of their Direct Drive pumps/motor that supposed to clean so well! It has nothing to do with water pressure because the unit is filled before the wash cycle starts!!! After all the attempts to diagnose the problem via my smartphone, nothing worked. I told them to just get a service repair person out. I was told that if this is the normal operation of your unit, it wont be covered under their warranty and will be charged!!! This LG dishwasher is a piece of garbage, as is their so-called customer service. DO NOT PURCHASE LG!!!

When in spin cycle washer moves all over. They have come out 1st year more than a dozen times to repair. They have changed numerous parts to no avail. All repairman say that is my ceramic tile floor which 90% of the country has in their washroom. I still dont understand. I told them the previous front loader did not have this problem. They asked me if I bought extended warranty. I said it should be good from get go, brand new and installed by Home Depot. Went back to home depot to discuss further no avail. Either they said contact LG which I had done! When speaking with LG numerous times each time they were completely unprofessional rude. I finally explained Lemon law which when they said to me to screw off, I own this piece of crap which no one stand behind. I choke it up too. I will never ever buy a single LG product, even if they were the last company to produce anything. Stay away. Every time I see someone near their product I tell them to run. Poor customer service, poor quality product. I call them LIFES GARBAGE!!! So my unit is 2 years old now and because of the movement of my machine it destroyed the new floor. Remind you all techs said my floor to blame and also my walls. Thank god I keep door closed when my son is here so he doesnt get crushed by this garbage. Oh I spent $1200 plus hours lost while techs were here which was min 4 hours x 12 times on this machine. STAY AWAY FROM LG PRODUCTS PLEASE.

Updated on 08/15/2020: Its now 8/15/2020, nearly 10 weeks into the saga of my LG refrigerator. The tech called me on 7/1/20 to say that a refund had been approved. It took until 7/16/20 to get an email with instructions to follow to get the refund. I followed the instructions and used the FedEx label provided on 7/20/20 by putting the form in the FedEx box. I sent emails and texts to the LG customer service contact and their support center on 8/3/20, 8/10/20 & 8/14/20. I also scanned their letter with the label from the unit (which was fedexed on 7/20) and attached it to the last email in the event that they attempt to say they never got it. Still no response. This is now beyond ridiculous. Oh, did I forget to mention the fact that I have ordered a replacement unit, which is from another manufacturer, but due to Covid-19 wont be available for 4 - 8 weeks and I have to pay for the removal of the LG unit?Updated on 07/16/2020: I posted my story up to 7/11/20, and received a response from LG requesting more of my information on 7/13/20, which I provided, but have not heard back. Meanwhile the customer service rep sends text messages without responding to my texts. Apparently they want the model sticker off the fridge, which I sent a photo of, and since their factory tech already physically inspected the sticker, I am not sure why they want me to scrape it off and mail it in. At this point they should come pick up the unit and keep it for themselves and maybe figure out what is wrong with their product. Meanwhile, remember this started with the freezer side not working, their repairs rendered the entire unit out of commission. By the way, did I mention that it is mid-summer, heat wave time of year. Oh, yeah and now that I am shopping for a replacement, I come to find out there are none available for at least 4 - 6 weeks.Original Review: My 3 1/2 year old LG refrigerator side by side model #LSXS26366S began to act up on 6/7/20 when the freezer side stopped working. Called service on 6/8/20 and was told their factory tech would come out on 6/16/20. Received parts boxes delivery during same week. Tech spent 4 hours at my home on 6/16/20. Left me with trash and old parts, said it was fixed. Next morning some up to a unit that didnt work at all, had to throw away food since fridge side now did not work. Tech came back on 6/17, worked 2 hours and said he had to order more parts, which turned out to be the same ones. They arrived on 6/22, he came back out that same day, spent another 4 hours on unit, said it was fixed, give it 24 hours and then it would be good to go. Called tech on 6/24 since once again the unit was not working. More spoiled food. Good thing it was time to replace the unit. He started process of filing report with my proof of purchase and model info. I also called LG customer service and spent 2.5 hours on the phone to file claim. Provided same proof of purchase info. Got call from tech on 7/2/20 that my unit was approved for replacement. Followed up with customer service, another 1.25 hours later was told to submit my info again and would hear back in 7 to 10 business days.I submitted written request for response on 7/7/20 since they do not answer phone calls. Received email written by an semi-illiterate person named Alexuis ** at LG asking for my info all over again. I forwarded photos of proof of purchase and model that from unit. Now told to remove sticker with model info and FedEx to them and wait another 2 weeks for payment. Not sure how a company of this size can be so poorly run and how they have all these built-in delays to basically force you to just go away. Will never purchase another LG product again and warn everyone I know to beware!

My dishwasher is not heavily used (6x/week) and within 18 months of owning it the stainless finish on the control panel (around the POWER) button started to wear off. I was told this was outside the warranty period and could pay to replace the door (for essentially 1/4 of the price I paid for the dishwasher). The dishwasher has been fine, not spectacular (the dishes are often still wet after drying overnight, I have tried every combination of drying cycles to improve this). Overall very disappointed in the quality of the dishwasher, wont be buying an LG product again.

Back in 2012, I purchased $8000 worth of LG appliances for my kitchen and laundry. Long story short I have replaced the dishwasher, it could not be repaired. In September of this year, the microwave exhaust had a mind of its own. It would come on and off by itself. To use the it I would plug it in and unplug it. The part to repair it was more than half the price of a new one. In September I purchased the model LMH2235ST. A short time later the exhaust fan stopped working. I called customer service more than a dozen times. They gave me a case number and said they will call when to set up a date to come and repair. After many calls to them they kept saying they would expedite it. I have heard that several times more. I have asked them to send another to my home with a return label, but they said they could not do that. I called customer service just now December first, now I dont even get to speak to anyone, the recording says to go online. So thank you LG for nothing!!

This review is for the LG WT5170HW Wave 4.7 Cu. Ft. White Top Load Washer.
This review is for the LG WT5170HW Wave 4.7 Cu. Ft. White Top Load Washer. I purchased this washer 2 years ago. I was looking for the largest capacity that I could reasonably afford. I also wanted to save water. I was replacing an old agitator-type GE model that was still going strong after 17 years. Ever since I purchased this machine I have had problems with it giving the UE message (uneven load). Dont even think of using the capacity of this machine to the fullest. Anything above half-full will automatically cause UE messages. Anything bulky like towels or bedding will cause the UE message. Sometimes it gives the UE message for what seems like no reason at all. Basically Ive had to wait downstairs and babysit this machine to get it to finish about half of its loads. As for water savings, whenever the machine gets a UE message, it adds water to try to fix the problem, so any water savings are lost. I am amazed at the amount of water this machine uses. Here is the worst part. Recently while doing a load of laundry, the machine malfunctioned and would not stop filling itself with water. Thankfully I was down there cleaning otherwise I wouldnt have known and my basement would have been flooded. Something has gone haywire and the machine will not stop filling itself with water now every time I try to use it.I purchased the service warranty (something I normally never do) and called the service center and they cannot find a certified repair center anywhere near me (we live near Minneapolis/St. Paul). This afternoon I spent at the laundromat, and my $1,000 paperweight sits downstairs looking pretty. And, theres no one in the Twin Cities area who wants to work on these things apparently. Save yourself the money, time, headaches and stay away from this product!

I bought a LG washer dryer set in 2007. The washer broke down, had to be repaired and the dryer. The washer never fully drained the tub. Then one lovely day... It burst the door open and flooded my house causing $7,000 worth the damage!!! The mechanism to stop the water failed and it dumped what I can describe is 15 bathtubs full of water in my house. It leaked into my basement and damaged wood floors. If you have one, get rid of it now! This also happened to a acquaintance I have as well. Currently in the process of replacing carpet, underlay, kitchen flooring and cutting into walls to repair the damage. This company and their products are evil! I bought a Maytag yesterday to replace the ignorant machine.

Piece of crap top loading washer Model WT1701CW does not work! This washer, I was told by the salesman at Conns, with which I am no longer doing business, was programmed by a woman. It ought to make her and her environmentalist friends happy, because it saves water. But if you want your clothes washed, youre out of luck, because they will not be submerged below the water level of only a few inches! LG is no help at all, refusing to do anything. No software upgrade, no repair, no reprogramming, NOTHING! Wash day at my house involves using a BUCKET to fill the machine to a level adequate to wash, then repeating the bucket brigade for rinsing, EVERY LOAD, EVERY TIME! Do not buy LG products. I also have an expensive Plasma TV that failed after only 12 years. What a rip off!

When I called them I was told that they did not do anything about cosmetic problems. I have been looking for background about these type of refrigerators, and there are more customers having this type of issues as well. How can a company does not take care of their quality? Why is this type of products in the market? Who is responsible for bad quality? Im not too happy with my LG refrigerator after looking into a lot of information and a lot of reviews. Apparently, theres been a lot of problems with their compressors. And it doesnt seem like LG is proactive about going and fixing them because I finally had a problem with my compressor this year. The unit wasnt getting cold at all and we had noticed periodically where it felt like it wasnt cooling enough. We just chalked it up in the air whether it was too hot of a day or too cold of a day, and maybe we didnt have that, we had the house too hot and left it at that. And then, all of a sudden, within three days, it just stopped working.Trying to get LG to come out and fix the issue was like pulling teeth. Apparently though, LG was aware of what the issue was. They didnt give me any problems as far as getting it fixed. But there was a lot of miscommunication internally at LG because they gave me one company that they were gonna have fix the situation, and when I finally contacted them because I hadnt heard from them, they said, We dont work with LG anymore, and I had to call LG and tell them what the company said. So, we were gonna use this other company. It was the same thing. LG gave me the information for that company and I called them immediately. They said some of the same thing. Then finally, the third company was the one that still worked with LG. And then, that had taken almost two weeks to get my refrigerator fixed. At this point, it seems to be running properly. It seems to be making a little bit of noise. So, Im gonna contact the repair people and ask them to come check it out because it makes humming noise that it didnt make before.I have mentioned it to other people and as good friends of mine, they just bought the same refrigerator, and they experienced a similar problem to what we had. And we were told initially, Oh, its probably its seal, it didnt close right. But that was the way our problem started. And six months later, all of a sudden, the refrigerator went bad. But its a known problem with LG. My friends now are keeping a close eye on it.

Bought a 30 in. W 20.2 cu. ft. Top Freezer Refrigerator in Stainless Steel with Multi-Air Flow and Reversible Door (Model LTCS20020S/00, SER 106MRKU08461) on June 19, Delivered on June 26. It never make any cold. Call LG, sent a service person come on July 1. Said no refrigerant and he had no license to handle it. Called again and again and send another service person come on July 21. It was said that the compressor is out of order plus other issues. Need to order parts which is a back order and will take a long time waiting.Called LG asking for a quicker solution. After a long time talking negotiating with a manager called Frances, Frances said waiting for over 15 days (it was almost a month at that time) was not acceptable and said would allow for reimbursement. She also gave me a number to do text communication with her and promised to respond in 24 hours. She did respond in the first several days but just asked me to wait. Then she never respond.Another lady called Garilee from the Return Authorization Department also texted me in another similar number to follow up. She first told me it was scheduled to have someone come but no one had come. Then she did not respond for a while then came back asking for update. I text her and never get response. I called again today (August 6) asking for talking to Frances. The customer service did not give me any chance but kicked me to the Return Authorization. Then I was kicked between the customer service and the return authorization a couple times. So, what I can do except desperation.I am not blaming Frances or Garilee for not doing what they said would do. It is all because of the attitude of LG to its customers. It reflects that LG cares much more on keeping their working procedures and dollars than taking responsibilities to care its customers. LG rather saves a few dollars than keeping customers away from suffering. Customers suffering from no use of refrigerators for one and half months means nothing to the company. LG does not want to keep the promises of its service representatives. As customers, do you still want to stick to buying its products? I switched. Though most of my appliances and TV are LG now, I wont buy any from LG. Very disappointed.

We purchased our LG refrigerator in 2012, French door with ice maker. Please be aware our ice maker once again has ceased to work. This will be our 4th ice maker to be replaced, IF we have it replaced, since 2012. Even though we purchased it in 2012, we are not eligible for the flat rate repair cost, (only eligible for models from 2012) and apparently, as per LG, it was manufactured in 2011. I have never been so unhappy with this refrigerator therefore would never recommend LG to anyone. And, as a side note, the paint is already coming off from below the ice maker on the outside. We called LG and explained this all to them but they were unable to help us. This has been such a frustrating experience for us.

I purchased an LG Refrigerator the end of January which was delivered the 1st week of February. Three weeks later I was dealing with LG Customer Service as the compressor had twice made a terrible grinding noise. After several calls they escalated the issue for an exchange but stated it would take 5 days & to call back then which I did. When contacted after the 5 day period they again gave the exact same directive. I was grateful Best Buy agreed to change it which they did the 1st week in April and advised if I had the extended warranty with Geek Squad they would have taken care of it right away so I bought it on the replacement. The split door on the replacement refrigerator would not close properly & the alarm for that door did not function. Contacted Geek Squad who wrote upon order for repair but the order would not allow it to be scheduled for repair as there are NO SERVICE REPS in this area. How can anyone sell products that have a manufacturer AND an extended warranty when there is NO AVAILABLE SERVICE??? Best Buy sent 3 people from the local store & they offered to replace again but they only allow one (1) replacement on an extended warranty so if there would be anything wrong with the 3rd one I would be out of luck. So today I will go to Best Buy and hopefully get a full refund and go to a local appliance dealer (who services direct) to get a different brand that will cost more. We all loved the design of the LG but I no longer trust LG or Best Buy.

I purchased a two drawer LG refrigerator (LMX25981ST) in April 2010. In February 2013, the freezer stopped working. I called LG customer services and was put on hold several times for 5-7 minutes each time. Then I was given a phone number for an authorized service center (which it seems was nearly 200 miles away). When I called them, they said they could possibly send someone out the following week (I called on a Wednesday, they wanted me to wait until the following Tuesday). I couldn’t get an earlier time and really needed the refrigerator. And so, I called a local repairman who was able to come that day. He said there was a leak in the freon and that I needed to call LG back. When I reached someone at LG again the next morning, they tried to put me off for another 3-5 business days, which was unsatisfactory. I expressed that I could not be without a working refrigerator that long as I have medication and other needs that must be kept refrigerated. They were no help and seemed uncaring. Also, this was a very expensive refrigerator, and I was at a loss as to why I would be having this problem less than 3 years after I bought it. At the time I bought the refrigerator, I changed all my appliances to LG because I trusted the brand. I had a major problem with the gas stove and had to return it for another model, which also had problems and had to be serviced less than a year after the purchase. The LG microwave oven that I also bought at the same time had a problem with the door, but the service on the other 2 appliances had been so poor that I have been just living with the microwave problem. LG appliances look very nice on the showroom floor and in my kitchen, but that is where the nice stops. The appliances have not held up, and LG has not been helpful in resolving the issues. The customer service is very poor and that, along with the quality issues, would keep me from buying another LG appliance or recommending one to anybody. I have had nothing but problems, and they are ongoing.

LG Wave Force HE machine, True Balance Anti-Vibration System, Inverter Direct Drive - bought about 18 mo. ago. First thing company did was sent me a check returning my warranty $$. I paid extra for 5-yr. added warranty. Have fought this machine since day 1 with finishing a cycle without the UE error coming on. I have king beds so our linens are larger but I do not overload. If anything, I underload to avoid the unbalancing of the tub. I even put the spin on medium in attempt to be easier on the machine. I am so sick of this thing!! I am going to sell it to the highest bidder on a Swip Swap page and hope they have better luck with it. Worst machine EVER! Seriously. It shakes so hard I am surprised there isnt a hole in the wall. The LG was bought by my parents and they chose it because of the sleek design and positive reviews. It was recommended by Best Buy employees. They said that it was the best refrigerator on the market for the price. It kept things cold, had lots of space, vegetable crispers. It also had a freezer up top that was very roomy. We loved it!! It also lasted a long time when the power went off. An egg container would have been nice to have, also the ice maker would break very frequently or not create ice for long periods of time. The ice maker was my biggest complaint. But I really enjoyed it overall though all!!

In late June 2017 I purchased the fridge (LG 620L french door - GF-B620PL) from The Good Guys - Brighton and it was delivered late September 2017. First Service - the door of the fridge did not close well and when it did it did very loudly. The serviceman said it was a part was missing from the door. Did not hear for a while so got in touch and said it needed to be ordered. Second Service- (serviceman Steve) - initially said did not need part but then changed his mind and said it did. He sent a message saying part was not available and that fridge did not need part (even both said did). Door still banging closed. Third Service - Freezer section was icing. Man came out and said the drawer rollers needed replacing as door of freezer did not close well and that temperature was too high Put down to 13. Fourth Service - Came back and replaced rollers. Fifth Service - All food in the freezer section had melted (thrown out). Asked why did not alert as was told if door nearly closed there is no alert. He also said temperature was too low and put it up to 18 and that we should check fridge regularly. I am very disappointed with LG service as we get mixed messages and I only got this fridge because reviews were good. I understand that there could be a bad apple in the millions made and can accept and asked to get replacement but response has not great. I have been very patient, I did not ask or claim for damaged food and accept that bad apples exist but I am not happy with the service and response I have been getting. LG customer service did reply and were abrupt and said they were happy what they did and that was it. No apology or was I happy! (Must of missed customer service lesson 101!) NEVER LG AGAIN!

I purchased an LG Washing machine with the pedestal back in April of 2010 for $1,309.95 from P.C. Richards. After 3-years and 4-months, my machine stopped spinning and had a loud squeaking noise. I paid about $400.00 in repairs at that time for a power cord and the computer control panel which completely burnt out. After the P.C. Richards Repair Man left, I washed exactly 2-loads of clothes before the washer stopped spinning and I had to call the Repair man back from P.C. Richards to find out what the problem was. Well after the 4th visit from P.C. Richards Repair Men, I was told that a Ball Barren was missing and it would be a very expensive job to do. With that being said, I went for a second opinion and was told that was indeed the problem which would cost me $500.00 to repair. You know when people purchase expensive appliances like washers and dryers from Manufacturers like LG, they expect the product to last at least 10 to 15 years. I am deeply disgusted and appalled. What can I do to seek punitive damages? I am a working mother of 3 and am at a hardship to make ends meet and cannot afford a new washer right now which I was told by the repairman I should purchase a new machine. In TEARS, can someone help me please?

We were told the air temp in AZ was too hot for the fridge to produce ice any faster!! Really, how stupid do you think we are? We have had at least 10 visits to repair this issue and now the upper part of the fridge is fluctuating from 30-42 degrees when set at 37. We are losing food to spoilage and freezing. French door LG refrigerator is junk! A year and half old and were on our third repair. Apparently its the compressor, which was replaced both times, only to stop working again after a few days. Cant believe these are still sold in stores! Now Im just waiting for my microwave, dishwasher and range to break. Never ever again will I purchase LG appliances.

I purchased a Top Load LG HE washer in Nov 2013. It replaced a 27 year old Kenmore that I never put a dime into repairing. I cried the day that washer died. It has been two years of hell with this machine. UE are the letters now that make me want to throw a two year old tantrum. I have literally seen these two letters on the front panel of this washer more times than I can count. I am now keeping a log of every load and how many times the UE appears before I can actually get a load done. It is usually a minimum of 2. Every part that can possibly be replaced has been done.I have one final repair man coming in a week. He just needs to say that at this point the washer is unrepairable and I will get a replacement. It doesnt matter what type of load I do, sheets, towels, jeans, every one will be UE. If I could take a sledgehammer to it I would. My question now is who is making a decent washing machine that doesnt cost a fortune? I think we need to go back to the old style of set your wash level, temp and what type if load. I want to tell my machine what to do and not the other way around.Im so tired of taking all day to do one load of wash. My old machine would take 25 minutes top. A cotton normal cycle with fabric softener takes 1 hour and 11 minutes in this machine, really??? LG, go back to the drawing board and give your customers a machine that we can say good thing about and not turn grown women into raging lunatics who just want to throw a tantrum every time they do a load of laundry!

Along with an LG refrigerator which I have already discussed at the same time, I also bought an LG washer and dryer. All the LG appliances were rated high so we felt they were a smart purchase. Not so. After 2 years, the washing machine needed new bearings with a cost of $700.00 to repair. Now, there are only two of us, no children so we barely use the washing machine. For this machine to work only two years is clearly a manufacturers defect. The LG engineers are designing these appliances not to last and they dont. I called LG customer service and they could care less about my problem. They basically told me to take a walk. I will never buy anything from LG again.

After 7 months, our dishwasher control panel cracked for no reason. It also will start, flash, then turn off for no reason. Basically cheaper to get a different dishwasher than fix it out of warranty.

I own the LG WT5101HW top load washer. I purchased 3yrs ago from Best Buy. We have a family of 5 so I hoped the extra large capacity would be a great option. Unfortunately we have benefited from this option due to it throwing it off balance and giving an UE code. We received a recall letter and had the LG repair guy change the part (I believe the circuit board) in September 2013. Its no ones fault but mine that Ive waited 9mo to complain about the fact that the problems have been worse since the repair was done, but in my defense it didnt happen right away. The knob for the settings however did not get put back correctly and does not spin freely like it used to, but I tried to overlook that since it would cost me a day of work to have the repair guy come back out to fix it. The unbalance code would occur only about 2 or 3 times a month in the past and we just thought it was overloaded or honestly unbalanced, but when we checked it the clothes were not shifted in a way that shouldve caused it to be out of balance in my opinion. In the last 2 months however the code goes off more often, to the point where its every other load it seems even on a small load. The drum is very violent and causes the machine to shake around a lot. And when you move the clothes around and push the start button again even if it says only 1minute is left, it will run for an hour if you dont stop it. We have had to just turn it off and put in the dryer. Thankfully it has not ripped apart as Ive seen in videos, but at this rate it seems its any day now. When I called LG about the on going issue, they said that a repairman could come look at it, but it would be at my expense since its out of warranty. Doesnt matter that it is the same problem from the recall nor did it matter only 9mo have passed since the recall repair was done. I asked to speak with a supervisor and was given the same speech. I have been a huge LG fan for years after buying my first flat screen t.v. from them, but our family will never own another LG product after this and I will spread the word about LGs lack of concern involving a very expensive washing machine that last less than 3yrs. Id rather have my old Whirlpool washer with over sprayed paint to cover the rust at this point!

I purchased an LG model WM2701HV washing machine (and accompanying dryer) in 2011. In just over a year, the plastic was crumbling into chunks around the detergent dispenser and the writing around the cycle dial was rubbing off. I now have to look at the owner’s manual to make sure I am using the correct cycle because the panel is unreadable. Then, after about a year and a half, I had to replace the drain pump. And of course, I have the smell and mold issue no matter what I use / how often I clean it. So, I have a very expensive, top-of-the-line appliance that I hate. My old $500 top load machine was still going strong after almost 20 years - wish I still had it! No more LG products for me...

1- Customer service is horrible!!2- I purchased this microwave in Sept 2019. Had it installed in June 2019, due to remodeling. The microwave will not heat. LG offers no help in fixing the matter. Theres no way Ill buy LG again. A microwave should last WAY longer than this amount of time. BUYER BEWARE.

I purchased a LG microwave in August 2018. The microwave alone was over $300 and was purchased alongside a refrigerator, and stove (all LG smart appliances). The microwave was used a max of 10 times over the span of two years as I am in the military and spend my time on the base. I was shocked that a microwave used this few times could suddenly stop heating. So I called LG support line. I spoke to a rep named Risaldo, he informed me the magnetron was the issue and is under warranty for 10years. He walked us through the process to file a claim (which we filed immediately with all documentation) and informed me someone would get back to us in 3-5 days regarding scheduling the appointment.A few days later we receive an email stating the microwave is past the manufacturer warranty and they are unable to send a tech to fix the microwave. I called back and spoke to a supervisor who stated that they are unable to help us at this point even though the microwave has been used such few times and despite the item in question (the magnetron) being under warranty. Apart from the microwave alone being a terrible product, the customer service I received spoke very poorly of the brand and company. As someone who decided to spend extra money to purchase these LG products, and given the deplorable customer service I have received from LG, it is safe to say I will no longer be purchasing products from them. I have purchased and worked with customer service with Samsung and GE and have never run into this issue. My fiancé and I have extremely busy schedules and do not have the time to continuously call customer service to resolve a relatively simple issue. I would suggest reading reviews very carefully before investing into their products.

I purchased an LG dryer, model # DELGX7188WM, a few years ago. Recently, I noticed it smoking and quickly unplugged it. After calling LG, their response was they could schedule a repair call but I was responsible for all costs. I replied that I am perfectly capable of scheduling a repair appointment. I found LG to be of no help and I will never purchase another of their products and highly recommend anyone considering any of their products to consider the lack of product and customer support LG provides.

I bought LG model LMXS28626S on July 2018 because it was nice looking. On Aug. 9, 2021, it no longer cooling. I called customer service and at first she said I should pay. I insisted that it seems it is a compressor problem and the warranty for it is 5 years parts and labor. From where I live there was only 2 repair shop that was listed in the LG website, but only 1 answered. The technician installed a new universal compressor that was so loud. It turned out it was not configured correctly. The technician came back and I think tried but he just messed it up and it died.I searched for help and found a write up about LG and I am not alone. It seems that LG has a reputation on Bad product and customer service. I read that I can call executive services. I was able to talk to a person in executive services. I told her the technician they sent seems to not know how to fix my refrigerator. She said that she will set up an A&E technician. After 1 month on Sept. 8, the technician will come. If you want to have the chance to have this same BAD experience, then go ahead and buy an LG.

This is my first purchase of an LG refrigerator, and while the reviews were good, my experience has been less than stellar. The refrigerator is less than 3 years old and makes horrible noise when the doors are closed. Last year, I had to pay a professional service person close to $300 to come de-ice the refrigerator and am now faced with the same scenario. LG customer service is no help saying to make sure the refrigerator is level and to call a repair person. I have had several refrigerators ranging from Westinghouse to KitchenAid and never had issues. I am very unhappy and would not recommend purchasing an LG refrigerator.

I contacted customer service about my freezer dying, they told me that the earliest it could send a technician was 3 days. Ok they’re busy I can accept that. Oh but nobody shows up to repair my freezer after my wife took a vacation day so she could be home when he showed up. I returned a call back to customer support and the gentleman said to hold on he was going to call the technician. Then he comes back and tells me that he can’t get in contact with the technician but here is his number you can call them. After calling for the last 4 days still nobody to repair freezer! But oh does it get better because this morning now the refrigerator part is not cold. So again I contact customer support and the guy tells me he can’t get in contact with the technician. We have tried all week long what makes you think you could contact them today. Then customer support told me that he is going to change repair technicians and the earliest they could come out to repair would be 2 weeks. I said I can’t go 2 weeks without a refrigerator, could they reimburse me with another refrigerator. The answer is no we can’t do that till the technician says it’s un-repairable. So okay geniuses what do you do for 2 weeks with medication that needs to stay cold and not being able to afford eating out every day for 2 weeks. DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT AND ONE MORE TIME DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM LG BECAUSE YOU CANNOT GET IT REPAIRED!!

After using my hand me down washer that was 23 years old, we decided to purchase a brand new LG front loader. We purchased it at a Best Buy with the matching dryer in October 2011. Now February 2012, I had to have a service technician come out to repair the washer. When the washer tried to turn clockwise, it made a grinding sound not be able to spin. It did spin counterclockwise. Of course, the warranty ended three and a half months prior to this problem. The technician told me he reconnected the bolt on the inside and it should be good for a few days. He told me that he assumed that I washed large loads. Why wouldnt I wash large loads? That is why I bought a large capacity washer. Stupid assumption! Anyway, he told me it would cost $350 to replace and repair the part. As for it lasting a few more days, I put in a load of three pairs of socks and one t-shirt. It still grinds! So much for a few days. Also, Mr. technician, is three pairs of socks and one t-shirt a large load to you?

This is a follow-up to a review written on January 22, 2013 regarding my LG washer. I did hear back from the resolutions department at LG who extended a prorated offer for my unrepairable washer. Whereas I feel the offer is fair, it is a year late in coming! The offer will allow me to purchase another machine. Trust me, it wont be another LG despite their good ratings on various websites. I am still out the hundreds of dollars in labor costs, plus the cost of having my clothes laundered at a local dry cleaners. As I said in my remarks on the 22nd, I do consider myself a pretty savvy shopper by checking both company and customer reviews. But this time was way off the mark. I hope and pray that my next choice in a washer, this time a front loader by Electrolux, is a wiser decision and that I wont be on a first name basis with my local repairman for a long, long time!
