We had bought an LG television which was our first LG purchase. Then I was at Lowe’s one day and needed a new refrigerator. We ended up purchasing the LG French door refrigerator in a little over four years ago and I loved it. It was everything I expected until the compressor went out. It took four weeks to get it fixed which was a long time. There are two ice makers. One in the door and one in the bottom drawer. We noticed that it wasn’t making ice. At first, it was still cold, but over a couple of days it stopped keeping things frozen. A couple of days after that, nothing was cold in the refrigerator.I called the number that’s inside the refrigerator and they wanted to know the details of when I purchased it and did I have proof of purchase. I’m not sure how that worked between LG and the people that came out but they had to contact a rep and she said, “We don’t have a rep in your area.” Someone else called me and scheduled. They said it would be a week. Then I called back and they said they had to reschedule because they didn’t have an LG repairman in Alabama. They were gonna have to get a certified LG repairman to come and fix it. They had me describe what the unit did. They were able to determine that it was probably the compressor and they sent the parts. About two weeks after we got the part, the LG repairman came from Georgia and fixed the refrigerator. I haven’t had any issues with it since the gentleman fixed it but I probably wouldn’t buy any LG refrigerator again.

I have the smell issues with my LG front-loading washer and Im sure, after seeing the pictures from another case, I will be dismantling my machine this weekend (with pictures inside and out including the moldy drawer that is supposed to clean my clothing) to get rid of black mold that is most definitely making my family and me sick. I will be using extreme care to sanitize the unit and my home from this negligent company that cares nothing for its grievous mistakes that so many have had to endure. Shame on you, LG for being so big and creating a problem you clearly knew about and do nothing for the customers who made you who you are! I hope that some lawyer who owns one will see this forum and take you on. Ill be glad to display my findings with 1080p HQ video and 18 gig pictures with a bag full of what I find growing in my $2,000 fungus-growing washer that you built. P.S. I forgot to mention the fact that I have to flip the breaker each and every time I wash a load of clothes for my washer to power up! Thanks for nothing, grrr!

I initially didnt buy an LG. I won my first one at a Christmas party raffle. I took it home that night and enjoyed it for about four years and I had to sell it because of the size of my household was expanding. But we really dont have any negative effects with this brand. The refrigerator was a gem to own. Never had any problems with it not doing its job. Would buy another one without any hesitation. Always keep my food at a constant temperature. And keep my vegetables in the crisper crisp a little longer. The only problem I ever had was that it wasnt right for me in the realm of space. I would like to see a little bit more space in the freezer compartment. And towards the end of my ownership of the product it was making a little more noise from the compressor than usual.

4 of 5 of my LG PRODUCTS have had problems. My LG side by side refrigerator with ice maker and freezer on the bottom caught fire on Christmas EVE one year while we were sleeping. After much negotiating it was finally replaced. The replacements ice maker failed and the doors broke twice. My LG top load washer rusted out... it took a year to get it fixed. Meanwhile it had a couple of recalls on the panel and tub. My LG dishwasher stopped working altogether... I replaced it. The second doesnt clean my dishes well. AT THIS POINT I HAVE NO FAITH IN THE PRODUCTS OR SERVICE DEPARTMENT. LG simply does not want to deal with their faulty products and its customer service dep representatives are difficult to understand.

No bumpers or feet on heavy grates which immediately scratched cooktop just placing them on brand new gas range. LG should have corrected this problem before putting on market.... now trying to get oven liner to cut out and put underneath grate so I can at least put pots on stove without worrying about scratching brand new gas range.

We purchased a LG washing machine from Lowe’s on May 31, 2014. About the second time we used it the clothes were slopping wet but some of the clothes had dry spots on them (both using detergent and fabric softener and without using any as weve had to wash each load 3 times or more to get the washer through a cycle). Lowe’s was nice enough to replace that washing machine with another one just like it. Lowe’s delivered and set up the new LG washing machine within a few days. The very first time we used the new LG washer it was the same problem. Also we got an E6 - clutch error message to unplug and call repairman. Lowe’s had a repairman out but they cant find anything wrong. Calling LG and was informed some needed a new control board (why?? these are brand new machines and why are they selling the machines knowing certain serial numbers have problems)?? We dont have any children at home nor do we do heavy loads nor do we have real dirty greasy clothes. Lowe’s pretty much said weve had this newest machine 8 days and they cant do anything (had it 3 days before using it). LG advised we have to have 3 different service techs out. The first tech said he would check on the parts and call us back but that was 3 days ago and we havent heard from him. We called today and was advised they dont know if the parts were ordered or not as the secretary is out until Monday. Believe me we are slamming LG and are not happy with them at all. Service tech also advised us since its LG it will take longer to get the parts in and this repair might or might not work. Its like let’s try this and let’s try that and maybe something will help. But having two brand new LG washing machines within two weeks and they are both doing the same thing... LG has a problem and looks like its not getting fixed! We are very unhappy and wished we didnt purchased LG - the reviews are totally wrong!

Well our fridge is a year and half old and the compressor is bad. I cant believe that something we spend your hard earn money on is not working already. Thank God I caught it when I did or we have at least a couple hundred dollars of food gone to waste. Would not recommend LG to anyone. Buyer beware as the warranty may cover the compressor but we may have to pay to get it installed. And its not a cheap install either.

I was so happy to get a new washer and dryer after about 10 years with my old set. I purchased the LG large capacity set. The washer was a front load. At first things went well, then little by little I began to notice our clothes came out smelling unclean. Regardless of the detergent, softener, etc, it made no difference. The energy saving, low level of water, simply means your clothes will slosh around in a small amount of dirty water, and then rinse with a small amount of water. There is nothing clean about that! When we sold our home I let the set go with the house, vowing to never purchase a front load HE washer again. The dryer was great.

My LG refrigerator stopped working yesterday at 3 years old. So LG covers the part but I have to pay $572.00 to have the new compressor installed. And on top of that the parts are a week out and I cannot set up the service appointment to replace the bad compressor until I have the parts in hand. And I was told LG is very bad at getting the parts out. So once parts are in hand I need to set up the appointment and oh by the way they are 2 weeks out because there is only guy that can fix this LG compressor. So that make 3 weeks without a fridge. So I am upset with LG. I looked in my house and I have an LG washer and dryer, 2 TV, sound bar and stove. Do you want to guess who is done with LG products? THIS GUY!

This machine has cost me hundreds of hours babysitting it. It will not finish a load on time nor does it ever complete a spin cycle without reloading it or taking items out, and trying over and over to balance it... I must say I HATE this machine and would strongly advise no one to purchase it. It is a waste of money and time. My energy bill has increased since this machine has come into my home, along with my water usage... Never again will I buy a LG.

Four years ago we purchased LGs glass top range for $899. Its now 2015 and the largest burner element is already dead. For that amount of money this thing should last at least 10 years or more. They sure dont make things like they used to! Repair of the burner is within the measly five-year warranty (this should have been my red flag before buying), but honestly who wants to go through the hassle? Well probably have better luck fixing it ourselves than dealing with an inept service rep. I realize theyre not the same but my mother-in-law also had issues with her LG television that she owned for only a couple of years. I think LG should stick with cellphones and leave the appliances and electronics to a more capable company.

Updated 09/04/2020: Every single review here on this website, there is a response from LG promising to look into the problem, its been two weeks since I sent them my information that they asked for and have heard nothing. Since then Ive had my electric range repaired. On my credit card statement they charged me $135 just for the diagnostic and $150.50 for the replacement of a Rotary Switch. It took the repair technician 45 minutes to take my stove apart and test each component. He couldnt determine what was wrong with the stove at this point. Then he went to the visitor parking lot where his truck was parked and brought in the box of parts, why didnt he bring them in when he came in, (the clock is ticking at $65 for 15 minutes)? He opened the box and took out a rotary switch, thats the plug on the knob that turns your stove on and off. He replaced it and that was what the problem was, problem solved. The time that it took him replacing the very first part that he tested without taking the range apart was like two minutes. He should have done that to begin with. Summary: it took the Technician 50 minutes to take the whole stove apart and test everything without a diagnosis and less than 5 minutes to replace the first part that he tested without having to take the whole stove apart. I was charged an additional $150.50 for that on top of the $135 for the diagnostic fee. I disputed this charge with a supervisor after calling them and havent heard anything since 8/27/20 for their review of my complaint.Original review: I purchased the $1,100 electric range 2 years ago. I use it three, four times a month maximum and already after 2 years the front right burner doesnt work. I called customer service to inquire about it and they informed me the warranty had expired after a year. I said I was very disappointed after having a stove for only 2 years that already I need to have a burner replaced. I was told that the supervisor could review the matter and that I would hear back 3 to 5 days. I heard back after about eight days with a denial and that I have to pay for the repair. Im stunned that I paid $1,100 for the stove and already and it needs to be repaired???

So disgusted with my LG Top Load Washer purchase. Bought 5 years ago. Never have thought my clothes were getting clean, but 2 years ago we went on vacation for 3 months. After coming home I started to get a rash. Over this time it has gotten so bad I have gone to 2 specialists. I use the cleaning tablets like I am suppose to and the washer appears to be clean. I take the dispenser out once a month and clean it in bleach. Lately I have noticed it has black mold on it. Today I inspected the place where it slides in and it is black with mold. Got some mold cleaner and sprayed up into it, but black mold keeps coming out from up inside. No wonder my family is having issues. This thing is leaving my house and going straight to the junkyard. BUYER BEWARE. Purchased at H. H. Gregg, Greenwood, IN (out of business).

PSA: DO NOT buy an LG refrigerator. Both they, and the service company they contract with, A&E are absolutely horrible. Back story: I purchased an LG fridge 2.5 years ago to replace an aging one which was keeping food in the 56º range. The new fridge worked fine with the exception of the black satin stainless finish on it which had started peeling off. About a month ago I called to report that. They sent out a service tech who said it was a manufacturers defect and it was covered. They would replace the doors in approximately two weeks.About a week after that, the fridge quit working. I checked all the stuff a non technical person like myself knows to check: had the door been left open; was the air intake clogged. Nope and nope. I busted out the manual. They said to call LG if it was failing to cool so I got on the horn with their service. Shortly into the phone call, the customer service person says, touch the inside of the fridge, does it have any condensation on it? It did not. He told me it was the compressor and promptly scheduled a service call which was about a week out. So I threw out stuff which would perish soon, got freezer stuff to my friends and cleaned the fridge so that it would not get stanky sitting closed up without power. The tech shows up as scheduled, confirms it is the compressor and also the motherboard and orders parts. The parts arrive a few days later, they are the wrong parts. We are now a week and a half in. He blames it on LG (who knows if it was LG or A&E at this point) and says he is going to order the parts and they will be overnighted. Had this been the case they would have arrived on a Thursday, come the next Tuesday, there are still no parts, so we call again. Now the story is that they will be ordering the parts and they will be here tomorrow. LG ships the parts to the consumers home, and A&E will not schedule until the parts arrive so first you get to wait for the parts, then you get to wait for them to have availability in their schedule. The parts arrive, three days later they schedule the tech yet again. They call the day that the repair is to be scheduled and say that the tech called in that day and they will need to reschedule. At this point another friend gets on the horn and basically tells them, oh hell no! and they miraculously find someone from Cape Girardeau and send him up. The guy puts the parts in, says to leave the fridge for 24 hours before putting anything into it. This was yesterday. Wake up this morning and the fridge is yet again a balmy 65º.Call LG AGAIN .... and A&E is closed and wont be able to schedule anything until Monday. Which will then of course be another service call scheduled days out, another tech coming out saying, yes the fridge is not working, ordering additional parts, waiting for parts, waiting to schedule said parts to be told that the fridge cannot be repaired. The fridge is under manufacturers warranty. The failed compressor has a 10 year warranty. I have the extended 5 year store warranty. There are so many 1 ⭐️ reviews on the LG fridge and A&E with people who are having the exact same issues as I am with both companies on Consumer Affairs, this entire debacle is being repeated all over the place. We are now three weeks into this, the doors never did arrive, the fridge still doesnt work and we are waiting on service yet again. If I can save any of you the headache, I wanted to put this out there.

We bought our LG side by side, door in door fridge in June 2017. In less than 2 years, our icemaker quit working. We went through all the troubleshooting suggestions and nothing worked. We spent $95 to have someone come out to diagnose the problem... only to diagnose it incorrectly which cost an additional $180. Another service person was sent out and called into the LG center resulting in diagnosis of the heater element in freezer door not working causing the ice maker to not produce ice. We have been told that the entire freezer door has to be replaced which would be extremely costly. We already spent over $1500 on the fridge and to now in 2 years have to put hundreds of dollars into it for repair. Im outraged and disappointed in the quality of this product.

I purchased my LG oven range combo when I remodeled my kitchen in 2017. I chose this product because it had the convection as well as standard oven option and flat glass top burners. I need all the prep space I can find in a tiny floor plan - so the flat top was essential. I would say the burners all work equally well and the quick boil feature is something I use often. The warming center might be the only feature I really dont use. As for the oven, I have had convection in the past & was excited to have that option in this. This oven tends to run a little high in temperature in both the convection and the standard. 3 years later I am still tweaking my recipes and cook times to ensure the right balance of time and temperature. The features are great to have but the calibration seems a little off. Thats why I gave it 4 stars rather than 5.

Wish I never bought this dishwasher. I had it fixed when it was less than a year old, replaced a plastic wheel that used to be made of metal. It made a loud screeching noise. Makes noises off and on that are LOUD. You never know when this will happen. Soap door doesnt always open. Top rack started rusting out in the second year. Was told too bad so sad, not covered, ever. When I called for service, cant remember which problem it was, there are more, was told they wouldnt come out because they were having a problem getting paid from LG. Great! Call back in a month or so, well see if they are paying their repair bills! Ok! Called LG for another extended warranty, they said no. Its up to them, and because Id already called, I guess they knew they would have to pay out on it, so they wouldnt extend it. Now I also bought the double 30 oven, and I love it!!! NO problems, its been just over two years now.

When you pay $3500 for an appliance you do NOT expect it to break down and require the same part (that cost $240 to have the repairman fix) every 6 months. We bought the L-G LMXC 23746 at Best Buy in June 2015. In November 2016 shortly after the 1 year warranty expired (of course!) we had to replace the Evaporator Fan Motor. Since that time every 6 months the refrigerator starts to make a loud hum and we know it is burning out, AGAIN! Every time the repair man comes it cost $70 for the part L-G EAU 61505014 (Motor, DC), $50 for a service call, and $110 for labor to replace the fan. Clearly there is an issue with this LG product considering all the reviews citing the same problem. I thought there were laws to protect consumers from companies who make and sell DEFECTIVE products. But I guess we just have to keep paying $500 a year to fix it twice a year or invest thousands to replace a 2 year old appliance. NEITHER option is desirable! Disappointed with LG and with Best Buy for promoting this clearly DEFECTIVE product as a high-end REFRIGERATOR appliance.

Product: Refrigerator. Model #: LFXS29626S. Recently I purchased what I believed was a top of line LG refrigerator. At the time of my purchase I truly believed that I was making the absolute best decision and that I was purchasing the very best refrigerator line that money can buy, however I now feel like I have made the absolute worse decision and I feel totally exasperated because my family and I sit here in our home living out of coolers for over 6 weeks and constantly managing ice to keep our food from spoiling. The problem is that this refrigerator has been out of order since August 8th, it is now Sept 19th and we are facing the 5th time of parts being placed on back order. If I had some idea of when the parts would arrive rather than facing the 5th time of being backordered there might be some peace of mind. Unfortunately, I have no idea when this part will arrive and will ultimately be repaired. It has already been 6 weeks of living out of coolers. I have called LG customer service multiple times and have dealt with friendly support people who try to help most times leaving the call believing there was a solution soon including being told twice that if the back order is beyond 10 days that the refrigerator would be submitted for likely replacement. No action on this yet just excuses when I follow up. My refrigerator was delivered Dec 2015 then began noticing problems in July 2017. I had a repair technician at our home on August 8th. Now I sit here with this top of line refrigerator with absolutely no idea when it will be repaired. In the past, I have always purchased less expensive models or maybe what could be thought of as lower quality brands. I have been fairly satisfied with these competitive brands, with only frequent problems requiring regular repairs. Understandably, I anticipate repairs on all appliances used in my home (those would have been better choices at this point), but this current repair, the time to get it handled and still with no solution is 100% unacceptable. I purchased this brand and model believing the product and support would be first class. I hope that you can comprehend how much of a great inconvenience this has been to be 6 weeks without a refrigerator to me and all my children. I need help and I need it soon! I am feeling inclined to make many more people aware of the support and lack of LG standing behind their products.

I purchased an LG washer a little over a year ago. Six months after the purchase, the clothes washed in the washer started to smell like mildew. Since then, I have purchased many different washing machine cleaner products, and attempted every suggestion provided by the LG representatives and people online suffering the same problems to get rid of the smell. LG also sent a technician out while the washer was under warranty; who said there was nothing wrong with the machine, and he could smell no odor. The pedestal washer catches fabrics and causes damage. The front load washer is loud - with just 5 t-shirts and 1 beach towel seem to stress the machine. When the cycle gets to rinse/spin it produces loud thuds and disturbing noise. The dryer drum is bent, or warped, it has a raised hard plastic that hooks and drags clothing items while the machine is in dry cycle thereby causing threads to pull away from the garments. It has only been 6 months since purchasing the washer and dryer and the extensive damage is deeply disturbing and unacceptable. Meanwhile the company we purchased from is making every effort to avoid responsibility/accountability or remedial action.

In 2008 we bought an LG range. On the first cleaning, soot went into the oven door window. The same thing happened with the replacement range. LG then gave us a better range at no additional charge with the understanding that we could make no further claims. We havent, but the third range had the same problem. Additionally, the whole back of the range moves when you try to turn something on. Now theres a crack there caused by the mere force of turning on a burner. Those burners take a long time to do small kitchen tasks like boil water. I bought an electric kettle for that. The range takes a full 10 minutes to get to 420. Before two months ago I had made a complaint, though the technician has contacted me and visited my house within 48 hours. He said that it requires changing the gas pipe and refilling the gas and that could not be possibly done at home. The product will go to workshop of the company and after that, they have taken approximately a month just by saying the transport man is not there, so we are unable to meet your complaint. I have made calls for a hundred times to them. After it came from workshop, not even 25 days have passed, it has started giving the same problem. At this time when I had made a complaint, they are unable to say again if it is chargeable or not, no proper feedback. I am feeling like I have done a major mistake by purchasing an LG product.

This set cost me a lot of money and the dryer is now too dangerous to use because there is a huge hole in the drum and you could cut yourself. It was beautiful to look at but does not work well. All my clothes and sheets tangle... So frustrated.

The LG front loader is a horrible machine. Even with leaving the door open it smells like a sewer. Most times clothes come out dirtier than when they went in... Greasy stains that wont come out. Sad that Id rather inconvenience myself & go to the laundromat, than do laundry in my own home. What a waste of money.

The refrigerator stopped cooling 1 week ago. The LG repair person has been out multiple times, tested everything (even consulted with LG), finally replaced coils suspecting there was a blockage, still not cooling and it is Thanksgiving tomorrow. The compressor was replaced under warranty within the 1st year. Weve had refrigerators last 20+ years with no repairs, this is ridiculous. So the repair guy got paid yesterday, was supposed to call today, have heard nothing and his mailbox is full. We have family visiting and no refrigerator. Been living out of a cooler for the past week.Disappointed that this refrigerator has turned out to be such a piece of excrement. We bought it because LG had a good reputation. Apparently theyve cut huge corners on quality and are following the planned obsolescence that is becoming common practice so you are forced to buy appliances more often, whether you can afford it or not. And getting more business for their repair people....

Purchased LG stainless steel fridge, stove, microwave and dishwasher 4 years ago. We have had nothing but problems with all but the microwave within months of owning them. LG was very difficult to deal with for warranty and repairs as only 1 company in our province will fix LG! And that company was not very professional or accountable with the repairs. We went months without the use of our appliances as a result and LG never compensated us for these major disruptions in our lives! And not to mention all the time missed off work to meet the repair people and there were many appointments. I have since looked on the internet about other peoples experiences with LG and there are so many similar stories of terrible products and terrible service. Never will I buy another LG product again. I always bought Kenmore before and had no problems.

Purchased this LFX31945ST refrigerator in May 2013 along with the LG dishwasher. It is less than 3 yrs. old and we are having trouble with the ice maker and the display panel on the door. It wont make ice, it has always been very slow making it. Usually took a couple days to fill the tray. The display panel reads Er. I chatted with LG Tech. Support, that was a waste of time. Very poor warranty on the unit! Any company that doesnt warrant their product that cost over $3,000 for more than 1 yr. tells me they are not sure about the quality of the product they are selling. The best thing I like about the refrigerator is the door in door, and the LED lighting. Anything else think twice please your purchase. Big mistake, the product is as reliable as the manufacturer!!! Read all the reviews, people are not happy, try another brand!!!

The other thing it was doing is turning off on its own and not coming back on unless we unplugged it and then turned it back on then it would work! This happened a couple times. It started when we got back from a family vacation in mid July 2018. We have owned our LG refrigerator for 3 years and we are a family of 7. Upon our return from vacation, we went grocery shopping. The very next day our refrigerator failed and all of our food was spoiled. We had spent hundreds of dollars at Costco and other grocery stores. Home Depot Protection Plan sent out a company to diagnose the issue. Once they diagnosed the problem, they said they couldnt fix our refrigerator. We had to make another appointment but this time with an LG specialist, which took another week to schedule. When they showed up we expected them to fix our fridge, but instead they had to diagnose and said they could not go off the previous companys diagnoses. Although, both companies said the refrigerators compressor went out. We were then told the part was on back order due to these refrigerators breaking down from LG. The part didnt come in until September. Once the new compressor was installed we were assured within 48 hours we could use it again. Again we went shopping and and lost all of our food again. Once we got the company back out, they said it was a faulty compressor and they would have to order us a new one.We have now had 2 food loss claims and 2 compressors replaced. Again, being assured the fridge would work, we bought more food. This time we realized the fridge was making weird noises and the freezer was not keeping our food frozen. After several more calls and several more service calls, our freezer is still not working properly 9 months later. Each time a new guy shows up telling us something new as to why this was happening. We have complied with everything they have asked us to do. We now have our fridge pulled out a foot away from the wall, which is a complete eye sore, and it is still not working properly. We have had over 9 calls to the Home Depot Protection Plan company for the same issue and they are still not calling it a lemon! We recently had another appointment on March 15th, 2019 for a final diagnosis, and the company never showed up! We are throwing away so much food which is a waste of our time and money. My family and I are scared to buy a lot of food because we are afraid the LG refrigerator is going to break down again. Our plan states after 2 calls for the same issue it is considered a lemon and it would be a Buy Out. We have had enough of this run around!

I bought a LG washer model number WT507OCW from Lowes Jan 2014. A few days ago I tried to use it, pushed the power button, made a clicking noise and shut down. I called Lowes. They would not do anything so I called LG because the washer is still under warranty. After about an hour they set me up with a company in my area to fix it and told me to call them. I called and they refused to come out and repair the washer. I called LG back and told them what happened. LG said they will call me back within 3 days. On the 4th day without a call back, I called LG again. They tried to set me up with the same people who have already refused to repair the washer. When I told them that they again told me I would be called back in 3 days, I told them that was not acceptable and to replace the washer. LG has refused to honor the warranty. I ended up calling a repair service and paying for the repairs myself and LG refusing to reimburse me for the repairs. DO NOT BUY LG.

On June 6, 2010 I bought an LG wm2301hr washer from Best Buy. Today we found that this washer had a slow leak in a faulty valve at the top of this unit that must have been leaking for a while. It was just a slow steady drip for a long time until today 3-2-2012. The way we found was that there’s a moldy smell in the closet behind the wash room with lots of black mold growing under the baseboards. Now, we have ruined carpet, ruined clothes, ruined sheetrock and baseboards and a washer that I have to fix myself. I expected a lot more quality for an $1100.00 washer. Best Buy said sorry. LG said sorry out of warranty. Wow, with the water dripping on the motor, I don’t even know if the machine is safe to put back in service. Any help would be great!

They told me it would be a week before they could send anyone out. Seems unreasonable. I expected that there would be an emergency service centre. Instead, it looks like Ill be running to the laundry mat each day. Something that will put a great strain on my work. Ill research for better quality washer next purchase. LG seemed good at first, but they break, and they dont back them up with service. I can get emergency service on my boiler, why not for my washer. VERY POOR SERVICE. Washer is worthless as it is.

In life, you have large purchases that are life events: new home, car, and appliances. From day one back in 2008, from when we purchased our LG fridge (LFX2590TT), we have had nothing but problems.Water leaked and cracked the line on the back of the fridge (caused damage to wood floors). The deli drawer slide cracked and broke off. Water leak was repeated; the service repairman fixed the line and then the line cracked above the repair. The ice-maker freezes up and we had to turn it off to thaw. Water leaked again; the service repairman fixed the line and then the line cracked above the repair (third time). The replacement slide was broken (again). We do not over-load this drawer. Its all plastic crap and has a very poor design. The water line leaks inside the fridge. We gave up and turned off the water dispenser/ice-maker. Then the top of the vegetable/fruit drawers cracked.LG made it on my speed dial. After too numerous to count service calls and being long out of warranty, we have given up. When you buy a $2,400 refrigerator, you think it would work (completely) longer than 2 months. I will never purchase any LG products and I advise others to do the same. They make garbage and when it comes down to it, they just dont stand behind their products. In reading all of these reviews, you would think there would have been a recall, but theres none. Dont buy LG.

We moved into a newly-built home with a brand new LG front load washing machine. With a few weeks, gentle use (there are only 2 of us), we began to notice an extremely foul odor we finally tracked down to the machine. Neither of us ever even attempt to open the door until the full cycle is complete. We found 2 problems - first, a terrible odor inside and around the door of the machine even with repeated attempts to run the machine cleaner product through, and second, a drain hose at the lower front of the machine that ended up having to be drained with every single use and even then, we had the odor. We will never buy any LG product again!!!! When we contacted them, we found no one who would even listen to us.

Last Friday night at 6:00, I discovered that the food in my refrigerator was getting warm. The thermostat said 37 degrees in the refrigerator and 0 degrees in the freezer, but food was warm in the refrigerator and things in the freezer were melting. I started calling appliance repair services. Most were closed at 6 PM but the ones who did answer said, Sorry, but we cant work on LG appliances. I asked, Why not? I was told, Because LG will NOT ALLOW us to be a part of their service network and LG will NOT let us buy parts. The repair services said that they had filled out apps and had been jumping through hoops for LG for 1-2 years without success. Because of LGs policies, I lost $400-500 worth of food and am FORCED TO BUY A NEW REFRIGERATOR. Today, Monday, the other repair services that I had left messages for Friday night have been returning my calls and ALL OF THEM told me the very same thing about LG service policies. LG forces customers to call LG and LG sends a repair person (you have to wait days) who charges 2-3 times the going rate, and LG charges sky high prices for parts. The repair services said to buy a Whirlpool, Amana or Kenmore instead because parts are readily available and less expensive. Whirlpool donates to Habitat for Humanity, too. GE parts are the highest, except for LG.

Our LG fridge LFX28978ST /04 stopped cooling. We lost everything we purchased in groceries to last us a while during this pandemic. It is a compressor issue from their linear compressor. We called LG and they verified it is a compressor issue but had to pay out of pocket cost for technician to come out and the repair cost while they supply the part. The technician came out and in under 20 mins, said it was a compressor. The cost for that 20 mins, $85. The service cost for the technician to perform the work, $890. The cost for the compressor from LG is less than $260. At that cost I would rather buy a new fridge. I called and complained to LG. They gave me 3 other technicians BUT I will have to pay new labor costs. They said I could explain to them that it was already diagnosed, which all the technicians said this is false and they will have to perform their own diagnosis.1 of them did not answer, the other said he has not touched LG fridge in over 7 years and does not want to. I called LG because I was not getting anywhere and they advised that I can call any local technician and they will approve the technician to perform the service. I have called about 6 local places and ALL OF THEM will not touch LG refrigerator. All of them said one thing or the other about LG refrigerators. I am getting nowhere with LG and it is a very frustrating time right now for me and my family to get the run around and nothing in the fridge. LG will not even reimburse me the cost of my groceries until the technician performs a $890 repair that they only have to fork out $260... Beware, if you buy LG fridge, prepare for the runaround and NO technician wanting to service this and if they do, the cost will be ridiculous. This is totally unacceptable and I can see why there is a class action suit against this company. I will be posting on all social media how LG handles its customers on an item they know is flawed. Hopefully I can deter others from buying LG refrigerator. I wished I searched this site before buying an LG refrigerator. I am getting no help whatsoever from LG... NONE... They will have you doing all the leg work and calling for nothing...

We waited patiently till the 18th, spent about 10hrs between costco and LG customer service, to be told that the service was cancelled by LG. They put another ticket in and asked us to wait again for another service provider to come out. Waited again till the 22nd, still no communication of an appointment day/time, and called LG customer service to be told earliest appointment may be the 30th.My wife is a healthcare worker, and her laundry is piled up in the garage for the past 2 weeks and she is running out of clothes!! When we asked to speak to someone above her, I was told there is no one above her she is the highest person I could talk to! 200 characters isnt enough to explain, LG wont offer up they know about the issue and that they extended all warranties on the linear compressor to 5 years. My refrigerator was purchased on Nov. 1, 2017. https://lgcommunity.us.com/discussion/3871/important-lg-refrigerator-warranty-information-announcement-please-read. Opened case with LG support, LG happily said that my refrigerator is under warranty when my LG account for registering my appliances clearly says it is out of warranty. You have to call the number in the link that I added to get the warranty work. Talking with the agent, who was pleasant to speak with, also came back and said that LG will also offer to pick up the cost of the Labor on this call as a complimentary service. Really? It is stated in the warranty that Labor is covered! So much for the fake gesture, is Life Good? Anyway, back to my story. Now that I finally got to the bottom of all this, we have a service ticket generated and the agent is working to confirm a service technician in my area to take the service call, stating we will have someone within 24 hrs. Ok, well we all know by now, 3 days after the refrigerator has stopped cooling and at 61 degrees, all of our food is no longer safe to eat. It is now exactly 24hrs from placing my service call with LG and still no confirmed service technician on the case, when-o-when will my refrigerator cool again? And Ill just leave all discussion about the pandemic going on right now, ugh...As I continue to do more research about this topic, how many of you are aware of the class action suit against LG for this exact issue? ** I guess it pays to do your research. After the cost of a technician to tell me the compressor isnt functioning properly and a hum hum nudge nudge on the shoulder saying check this out, I discovered all this and am now expecting my refrigerator to be fixed for free. Once it is fixed I have to ask one more question. Is the new compressor covered by a 5 year warranty from the day it was installed, it should be! After all, we all know that this compressor will also fail within the next 36 months, give or take. This is the second generation linear compressor and LG has yet to fix its know issues, I am not aware of a 3rd generation compressor coming out any time soon. If you continue to research you will find that LG has already gone through a class action suit for this same issue on compressors prior to these. I hope this was some what helpful to anyone reading this and doing their own research into an LG refrigerator. Anyone looking for a French Door Refrigerator? I have one for sale!

LG will not stand behind their product. I purchased this $1,595.81 refrigerator with an extended warranty 5 years ago. There is a leak in the Sealed System which is built into the chassis. LG designed a poor product. I asked for some type (any type) of a credit toward a new refrigerator. Ive never had a refrigerator (with repairs) that lasted less than 20 years. A product that last 5 years is unacceptable. Especially if was due to poor design on LGs part. On March 28, 2015 our LG front load machine was run on the tub clean cycle. It overfilled with water and the door seal failed. Water poured out of the machine and it just kept on filling. Water damaged several rooms in our home. We handled the emergency by shutting off the water supply. Hooking up shop vacs to the drain hose to empty the water in the machine. Shop vacs were filled many times over to clean up the floors and empty the machine. Commercial Dehumidifiers, floor dryers and fans were brought in to try and save the wood and tile floors, cabinetry and personal things. Water bubbled out of the wood floors in our new home.We contacted our retailer, Grand Appliance in Madison Wisconsin and they said they will file a claim with LG, but that LG doesnt typically cover both replacing the defective machine and repairing the damages caused. I will report back when we have something in writing from LG, but we are not happy that they havent responded yet and even more unhappy that the retailer cannot assure us the manufacturer will make this right.

We received a recall letter and had the LG repair guy change the part (I believe the circuit board) in September 2013. Its no ones fault but mine that Ive waited 9mo to complain about the fact that the problems have been worse since the repair was done, but in my defense it didnt happen right away. The knob for the settings however did not get put back correctly and does not spin freely like it used to, but I tried to overlook that since it would cost me a day of work to have the repair guy come back out to fix it. The unbalance code would occur only about 2 or 3 times a month in the past and we just thought it was overloaded or honestly unbalanced, but when we checked it the clothes were not shifted in a way that shouldve caused it to be out of balance in my opinion. In the last 2 months however the code goes off more often, to the point where its every other load it seems even on a small load. The drum is very violent and causes the machine to shake around a lot. And when you move the clothes around and push the start button again even if it says only 1minute is left, it will run for an hour if you dont stop it. We have had to just turn it off and put in the dryer. Thankfully it has not ripped apart as Ive seen in videos, but at this rate it seems its any day now. When I called LG about the on going issue, they said that a repairman could come look at it, but it would be at my expense since its out of warranty. Doesnt matter that it is the same problem from the recall nor did it matter only 9mo have passed since the recall repair was done. I asked to speak with a supervisor and was given the same speech. I have been a huge LG fan for years after buying my first flat screen t.v. from them, but our family will never own another LG product after this and I will spread the word about LGs lack of concern involving a very expensive washing machine that last less than 3yrs. Id rather have my old Whirlpool washer with over sprayed paint to cover the rust at this point!

Easy clean. Does not clean. Did it twice. Did nothing. The heat not high enough to do anything. The water in the bottom of oven is not hot enough, I’m at a loss of what to do, can’t use chemicals or abrasives. My last oven lasted 25 years. Can’t imagine this lasting 5.

I purchase this $2700 refrigerator November 2016. It started shutting down on its own and tripping our circuit breaker around March 2019. I called customer service several times, they claimed that the problem problem lies with my circuit breakers and I should call an electrician. I was skeptical and then started researching online about LG refrigerator failures. Turns out, there were class action lawsuits towards LG regarding compressor failures in their refrigerators.I then called customer service again in May 2019 and demanded to have a LG certified technician assess the problem. A technician came out and diagnosed the problem as a faulty door (the side with the icemaker). He estimated it would cost $750 to repair and that it was no longer under warranty, but even if it was under warranty that they hate dealing with LG because LG has not been reimbursing in a timely manner. I ended up paying $65 diagnostic fee out of pocket.I am currently attempting to receive a claim for an extended warranty on my Citicard. Up until last week my refrigerator was usable as long as I didnt open the icemaker side of the door. It is not completely dead in less than 3 years. My mothers old Whirlpool lasted greater than 20 years! A few days again, I purchased a mini fridge as an emergency plan while I wait for my claim to be processed. I will never buy another LG product again, and I am spreading the news to all my friends and family to avoid LG at all costs!

I bought an LG French door ref. in May 2014, now is rusting on the doors. I contacted LG and they say it is not covered under warranty. They say it is cosmetic. I paid apx. $2,000.00 for it. It is the stainless steel doors that are rusting and I believe that is not cosmetic as it is the door not the look of it. They have been anything but helpful and I will never again buy, not recommend them to anyone. I have cancelled my other order for a dishwasher. I have other stainless appliances by other companies and they are older and just fine.

They are extremely dangerous as you can see from other peoples reviews. I have the same experiences. Including accidentally brushing a knob as I took my small children upstairs to bed. I also went to bed and 30 minutes later went downstairs to get water. At that time the entire downstairs was filled with gas. The house could of exploded in the middle of night with us in it. Or been asleep while the fumed reached us upstairs! If I hadnt gone I dont know what could of happened us! My almost two year old can turn the stove on. It is extremely dangerous. If you see this file a complaint and make LG do the right thing with these knobs. Shame on you LG!!!

After 6 years of owning the dryer and doing no more than 4 loads a week - I live alone, I noticed a loud thumping coming from my LG dryer. It got progressively louder so I called a repair man. The drum was broken at the seam. It cost me $400 to replace the drum. $400! He said it was a fluke and that this didnt happen normally. But I just read online that others have had the very same problem. LG better pull it together. Now the dryer isnt drying the towels completely, I was researching the problem, could be my lint vent which is not a dryer issue but I came across these complaints and I was really ticked off. I feel burned. I paid top dollar for this dryer and I figured it was a top brand. Buyer beware is all I have to say.

We noticed LG refrigerator was stopped cooling and freezing on October 10th. We were told the option would be to repair or refund the cost of the LG refrigerator when we initially spoke with customer service on 10/10/2021, but a service technician would have to come and evaluate refrigerator first. On Oct 25th, a LG refrigerator repair was completed. We were offered a $200 spoiled food compensation which we have not received to date. On Nov 12th, the LG refrigerator stopped cooling and freezing: keep on mind it was repaired 2 1/2 weeks earlier. So, I called LG and requested a refund of the cost to replace it with a new refrigerator. Obviously the refrigerator and/or LG part is defective. The LG rep told me LG would not authorize a refund until another repair was done per LG PROCESS. I asked to speak with a LG supervisor who offered me a 15% rebate towards purchase of another LG refrigerator.I told the LG rep that was absolutely unacceptable, and asked to speak with whoever would authorize a full refund. The LG rep said that her department does not authorize refunds, and could not proceed with my request per LG process. The only option i was given is to set up a second repair appointment on Nov 18th with same service company A&E. I was then told by the LG rep that after the second service appointment, if LG refrigerator is still not working, then they would be able to proceed with a refund request. I again asked for a second spoiled food compensation, and was told this was only offered once a year. Therefore, we would not be compensated for second set of spoiled food. I went ahead and set up second service appointment on Nov 18th, while I figure out our next step. I spoke with A&E to try to get a sooner appointment, and queried whether they were using a new or refurbished part for my repair. I was told the part is ordered directly from LG to complete the service repair. So again, the defect is in the LG parts.

This dryer has ruined our clothing. I get so upset every time I use it, the damage it does is upsetting and ruins my day. The clothing gets stuck on the stupid lint filter because it will not go in completely, it sticks up on both ends just enough to damage clothing by twisting it until it breaks. We purchased a LG front load dryer (DLGX2651W) two years ago at Best Buy. Within the first year of owning the dryer the motor began making loud clanging noises and we had to have it replaced (professional repair by a serviceman sent by LG). Now it appears the replacement motor has gone out as the dryer will turn on but wont blow air or turn the drum. The Smart Diagnostics have not been helpful at all as they say the dryer is fine. We contacted LG and they denied our warranty claim, stating that we had to call in the same issue three time in order to get coverage. We are most displeased that this dryer has broken twice in the short time that we have owned it and are very upset at the prospect of having to pay for yet another repair on a dryer that is only two years old. This is not the level of quality or customer service we expect from LG and make me think twice about buying another LG appliance.

We purchased our LG machine from Home Depot online, September 2013. Although I do not like how the machine operates (cannot fill) (never enough water) (takes forever to wash a load), it stopped emptying April 26, 2015. We called for service which was to take place on April 29. It was determined the machine needed a new pump. It was ordered that day and was to be in in 3-5 business days. After waiting 10 days, we called Diamond Warranty service. We were told the part was ordered and there was nothing else they could do about it. We then called Home Depot and when they checked, they found the part had been backordered and then reordered and again should be in in 3-5 business days. It finally came in May 15. We set up the repair for May 19. I took off work because my husband was in court all day. At 7:30 on the 19th, they called and said the repairman was ill and rescheduled to Thursday, May 21. On May 21, they called and said the person would be out the rest of the week and could reschedule next week after Monday. I have now been without a washer for 25 days. Home Depot said they can do nothing but file a report against Diamond warranty and it will take one to two business days for a supervisor to respond. When I called LG they said they were very sorry and could only do the same. When I asked to speak to a supervisor, they asked me to stay on the line. I held for 13 minutes and then hung up. Obviously neither LG nor Home Depot care. I want out of the extended warranty and they can take the washer and shove it because neither are any good. I have been to the laundromat 4-5 times and spent 11 to 15 dollars each time and still have no washer. I will never buy anything from LG or Home Depot again. Even if they do come out next Wednesday, it will have been 31 days without a washing machine. This is ridiculous!

I liked the finger proof texture. The body of the fridge had the silver style. Really looks good in my kitchen next to my other similar style appliances. The refrigerator section holds a lot more than the refrigerator that it replaced. But I disliked the drawer on the bottom. It seemed not to hold much and everything just ended up being piled on top of each other. It just wasnt as convenient as I thought it would be for my size family. So I started looking on reviews about other brands. LG has always had a good reputation on other products of that brand I own. Ive had some good luck with their brand but all in all I think I will be looking into other companies next time I need a refrigerator.

LG here you go. I will give credit where credit is due. I have owned an LG washer and dryer front loader for 11 years now. No repair issues as of yet. Only one complaint is the dryer lint filter. I do agree probably a design flaw. It grabs my clothes and snake rolls them. So I did order a new filter and will see how that fixes the issue. I only have one thing to say to those that are furious about your machines. The technology in the digital control panel is crazy. We are not playing with 3-4 dials with resistors to control them (very reliable). If you want to use 50 gallons of water to wash your clothes then buy a basic top loader. By the way enjoy spending 3 times as long doing it. I have the 4.5 cu. ft. washer and enjoy the fact I can wash 15 large towels in it at one shot and dry them usually in 1 auto setting on the dryer. Lastly you can only heat up and cool off a dryer element so many times before it craps out. Like a hair dryer. Most people are angry when writing their review, and some I may understand your frustration. The warranty cant be any more obvious 1 yr parts and labor. Buy an extended warranty if you want more warranty, but they are usually a ripoff. I love my LG and wouldnt swap it for a made in Mexico Whirlpool or Maytag.

Arranged repair (took 4 weeks, try keeping family of 6 with no fridge for a month!). Replace coolant, tested. 3 days later - same issue. Call LG. Arrange for repair (another 3-4 weeks). Apparently wanted leak tested properly and lost coolant. They needed to order repair part to rebuild the coolant system in my kitchen (another 4-6 weeks for parts). Repaired. Next day display on front showed error, turned out repairman forgot to plug a cable in. Few months later, not cooling....want to send another repair (different company than first 4 times!!). Matthew in Executive Service (very poorly trained at customer service)! I just want to get rid of this headache and am being told I need a receipt (from 5 years ago??) to initiate the refund. Initially I chose LG brand because I like their other appliances such as TV, Washing Machines, etc. When I bought the refrigerator that was the guiding and deciding factor, familiarity. What I like the most about the LG brand is the nice slick look. I like the brand itself in general. My favorite color in most appliances of that nature is stainless steel. I have been satisfied with the look, functioning and features of my LG refrigerator. I like the inside of the refrigerator as much as the outside. My nightmare is about a $2000 refrigerator and about $10,000 worth of aggravation. I have a refrigerator that is eight months old and it started having a problem. We called LG and they sent somebody out here. It turns out, the compressor died and then, they fixed it. Roughly after a month, it started to buzz loud enough that if we were trying to watch TV or talking on the phone, we couldnt hear it too well. Plus, if we walked anywhere in the house, we would hear the refrigerator buzz. It was fairly loud. We lived with the buzzing for about two weeks and its a little bit like the Chinese water torture because it was very annoying but we didnt know what to do. When I called, the rep told me that if a repair guy comes to the house and he doesnt hear the buzzing, I was gonna get charged. But its not making the noise all the time. It goes to a certain cycle. The whole refrigerator resonated with the vibration of it and gets a vibration out of the fridge from the motor. So now, were in a quandary. I told the rep I didnt want to spend another $100 to have somebody come here and when hes here, its working okay and then we have to pay him. And then, it goes back to being bad again. I kept making phone calls and I figured they were in the Philippines and the reps dont speak English very well. It was very frustrating. I call and say, I have a blue horse, and they say, What color of the horse? They listen but they dont really hear me.After about 10 calls of getting nowhere with them, I got a woman over there who transferred me back to an escalation department in the United States. Also, I happened to record the sound on my phone that day and the rep heard it. She said it was the compressor. She authorized a repair person to come to the house without charging us. The repair guy came with the supervisor and they fixed that. Then, we thought we were fine but the day after the repairmen came, the refrigerator started not working well. The freezer was like 10 to 20 degrees. 24 hours is the period of time I have to give the fridge to adjust but everything is high now. Also, in the period of time they came back, I had it set for minus 6 and 33 but I get to read 0 and 40. Even at the coldest setting, it was barely acceptable within the normal range. The fluctuations were bad. I called the repair person on Friday and told them the fix wasnt working right. He told me it was just my thermometers. But I have two thermometers and theyre calibrated. I called them Monday morning and we still had the problem. I gave it the ice cream test and my ice cream melted. So I left the repairman a message but he never got back to me. Finally, I talked to Famous Tate and the regional manager instigated the callback to LG to come service the fridge. We then had an appointment on Thursday. But then, that time, it started getting cold again. I even called the repair person that Thursday and told him about it. But anyway, he came and took it apart. He said there was a leak in the evaporator. When he did the compressor, he put a dye in and when he came back, he could see that that was the problem. Hes coming back Tuesday to do the evaporator replacement. Meanwhile, the freezer is somewhat normal but the fridge part reads 40 degrees. I have it set very cold. The repairman is telling me the evaporator is bad but it doesnt jive. Also, that buzz is back but not as bad. If I push in on the doors, it stops. I can hear the motor going but that zzzz! that Im hearing is vibrating. Now, we have a refrigerator that doesnt work right and one that is making noise. Thats where were at and were very frustrated. Also, dealing with people overseas was horrific and not fun. They have something called Smart Diagnosis where I can go to the product, hold my phone up and it goes, Beep and they can get a readout of everything going on in my refrigerator, the temperature and how many times I opened the door. I wanted to get that printout from them so I could show the repair guy but I was told they were not allowed to do that. On one hand, Im unhappy about my experience with LG but they did come here to try to fix it so thats good. But this is an expensive refrigerator. If I could pay money, even if I took a hit on the refrigerator and get rid of it, I would. The product is pretty unreliable and the scary thing about this is because weve had the fluctuation in temperatures, we could eat the food and could get very sick.

We bought the LG Steam set back in May 2009. With a big family, it was such a blessing to get a large capacity elite washer and dryer! We used our tax money for this expensive set with the premise the company pledges: that we would quickly reap the savings of this energy and water efficient washer. Well 4 1/2 years later we have a broken washer with a bearing assembly that needs replaced. The washer kept filling up all on its own and leak, then it wouldnt drain and then getting stuck in the midst of a cycle. We would have to drain the tub and ring our clothes out by hand (we have 7 people in our family). Then it finally quit spinning altogether. It has been a mess to say the least. Total cost to fix it? Repairman said in the $800 range. That is ridiculous for a machine that is less than 5 years old and was so expensive to begin with. And it sounds like this is a manufacturing problem as I read so many others who have this exact same thing happen. Can we say class action law suit? Sign me up.

I purchased the LG gas convection range in Aug 2016. Its been a learning curve getting used to the gas convection oven mode, I previously had a dual fuel range, using electric convection (worked great). One of the reasons for purchase was the angled and higher control knobs, which I thought would take care of turning the knobs on accidentally. My 12 year old Kenmore Elite range exploded inside while on self cleaning cycle (glad I was home & in the kitchen when it happened). I turned on the knobs accidentally on the Kenmore often, hated that. So got the LG. Well I was still able to turn on the knobs by brushing against them, like others have stated. Definitely a design hazard. So I quickly went to Target and got the childproof knobs covers. I placed them on the 2 outside knobs on the right and left side burners. This left the middle knob uncovered on each side. The covers fit perfectly and NO MORE accidental turning on knobs. I can use all the controls without difficulty. Now the Easy Clean is a joke. It worked two times initially, since then it does nothing except pool water in my oven. The program is 10 minutes per the manual and timer on the range. I now see it says 20 minutes on the website, Hmmmm. At any rate when the cycle is done, the oven isnt warm and the water is COLD. So Im using the self clean mode, well see if it does better. I dont use my oven much. Otherwise, I am fairly happy so far, paid $1600 for the LG. I loved my Kenmore Elite and had no problems until the elements blew up inside & damaged the oven, out of warranty. I hope I get 12 years on this one, glad I purchased extended warranty for 5 years.

The ice maker/water dispenser has never worked properly. It was replaced during the warranty stage. Now theres a crack in it where the water fills up before going into the trays inside. Water is constantly leaking out the dispenser. The ice maker freezes up and to get it out to unclog it, you have to yank really hard since its frozen in place by the water that leaks out. The door is being ruined due to the constant water leak. Also, the plastic veggie/meat drawers are both cracked. Really thin edges on them. Just yesterday, the plastic cover on the edge of the shelf came off and wont stay on anymore.

LG smartdrum inverter washing machine - The machine just does not rinse out
LG smartdrum inverter washing machine - The machine just does not rinse out the dirt from the clothes. It leaves lines of loose dirt all through the clothes where it has spun out the water and not adequately rinsed them. I have never ever been this disappointed with a product. I will not recommend this machine to anyone and if I could afford to replace it I would. It takes at least 2 full wash cycles to remove some of the loose dirt, the second with no detergent.

6 year old 4 drawer French Door refrigerator... Door flap hinge breaks after 2-3 years use. Vegetable bin corner cracks. Now have no ice with ice maker. I live alone and there is gentle use with this appliance. The icemaker was always blocked with ice cube clumping with constant opening and physically breaking ice up... Very disappointing! I will never buy again.

I complained to LG customer service about overcooling issue. My tomato will turn into stone, leafy vegetables get spoiled with ice crystals forming on them. So far, I must have thrown vegetables worth $600 plus. My refrigerator was under warranty. Technician would check and confirm everything is working fine, no root cause analysis. After 2 visits, I demanded to have new technician, who said air flow tower needs replacement. After replacement, unit worked for few weeks and again same problem started happening. I called LG, again technicians visited but could not fix the problem. I am still having issues with brand new refrigerator where I cannot store vegetables. Fortunately, I have 10+ year old another refrigerator that I use for storing vegetables. Now, when I call LG, they are saying, unit is out of warranty so you need to pay. My issue was reported when it was under warranty, it was never fixed, but they will not accept. I am very frustrated. It seems it has some manufacturing defect or they do not have qualified technicians to do root cause analysis of the problem.

We had an LG refrigerator installed in our home in late 2018. It quit working this past Sunday. I have spent at least 5 hours on the phone so far with no help at all. At the time of this writing I am on the phone for an hour and still on hold. I have called all of the companies on the LG service and they refuse to handle any calls with LG-Lousy Garbage, as LG has not been paying them. LG told me to call any appliance service and see if they would come and fix it???? I am ready to eat the $2300.00 and get this garbage out of my house. If I could give a minus in their rating, it would be negative 100. Whatever you do, read all of the bad reviews and buy a dependable appliance. I know I will get an automated response from Lousy Garbage. Lowes is trying to get me a return from LG. I am not holding my breath. I would be dead before this attempt to resolve this issue is dealt with. BUYERS BEWARE- Joe **

Front loader machine is great--steam cycle/sanitary cycles are a PLUS. The only negative which really isnt a big deal but the labels designating cycles wears away. Maybe make a plastic replica that can be applied over the original markings. I have put my trust in LG for years--from dishwasher, refrigerators, big screen tvs---can be beaten.

Updated on 08/21/2019: This is an update to my previous post about my 3 year old LG refrigerator. LG tech was great but could not fix my refrigerator. He replaced the compressor and left saying it will take some time to cool. The next day it was hotter than before inside. I called him and he came back next day to find a clog and a broken pipe. He had me send the original receipt. He submitted it to deem the fridge unable to be fixed and needing replacement.Apparently, the entire process can take up to two weeks... so I am to go without a fridge for that long. I purchased a mini fridge, but I’m sure LG will not be reimbursing me for that either. As well, LG ONLY reimburses you what they deem the refrigerator is now worth, since it is 3 years old. Yet, I have seen statements by LG in warranties and online that are misleading about this “replacement”.Lastly, I have a dead, large refrigerator sitting here and no information on LG picking this up. Even if I wanted to go buy a replacement prior to LG getting through their long approval process AFTER the tech explained it all, I can’t!!! I am single and have no way to remove it. LG - You owe me the money that I spent on this refrigerator just 3 years ago, plus the cost of the mini fridge I had to buy. And you need to remove this worthless fridge this week! I have never had so many issues with a refrigerator (even 10yrs old), much less all of the trouble I’m having to go through for this lemon product I was sold!Original review: It seems my refrigerator will fall under the same bucket of consumers that have started the class action lawsuit! I bought the LG Side by Side Refrigerator in Stainless Steel in May of 2016. It has suddenly just stopped cooling. Opened my freezer to find melted food all over and had to throw out hundreds of dollars of food from the freezer and fridge!Contacted LG on Saturday and they said I only have warranty to replace for 1 yr. Some parts are warrantied for 5 yrs and some 13, though. The rep was scripted and seemed annoyed if I asked any questions about best temperature, etc. So, not a great experience with their customer support after their appliance fails after only 3 yrs! She did give me a “courtesy” one-time free service call. But, who knows how much it will cost in the end, nor how long parts will take.I’m fairly certain the compressor went bad, due to the symptoms and fact that coils are cleaned. The model I bought had the linear compressor - which I was sold on by Home Depot as being great per warranty and reliability. Upon now reading the class action suit that’s ongoing... the issue is these linear compressors failing at 3 yrs on average!I will never buy an LG appliance again! I bought their washer and dryer and the dryer stopped working in 1 yr and 1 month after purchase. That also required repair and I was without a dryer for over a week. I’m single and facing upcoming lay-offs at my job. In all my 44 yrs, I have never had any issues like this with a refrigerator, or dryer (even at 10+ years!). I have already lost money from all my food going bad and expensive medication for my pet has also gone bad! LG can’t get anyone out here until Tuesday. They need to do the right thing for customers that experience this with faulty parts, or appliances... without a lawsuit, or hassle!
