The motherboard on our 3-door French door style LG - LFX25960ST heated up, melted the plastic housing, and almost started a fire. Thank goodness I was home when it happened. The repairman said the he has had numerous complaints about the LG, and that this should not have happened. I am going to try to get LG to assume some responsibility, but after seeing the comments below I am not optimistic.

This washing machine is awful. The clothes do not get clean and they smell even after cleaning the machine. A rep came out and told me that the He tide detergent has been awful to switch to gain or another brand. So, we switched to gain, cleaned the tube 3 consecutive weeks with vinegar and baking soda as suggested and still my clothes are not getting clean. I have been battling this since I bought it.

Bought LG washer and dryer just over 6 years ago. Had no problems till today when the dryer started to thump. I am a retired millwright-machinist and have repaired washers and dryers as part of my job for years in a large hospital. I took the dryer apart to discover the drum was cracked on the welded seam. My extended warranty ran out in March. Called the Warranty Department at LG and was told they never heard of such a thing and could not help me (I did tell them that there were hundreds of similar complaints on the internet). Called the local service company and was told a service call would be about $300 plus parts. They couldnt understand I already had it apart.I called another company and was told that I could buy a new drum for $133.58 but the drum was back east and it would take several weeks to have it shipped here, so I will weld the drum for now and order it at a later date. Not happy. The washer has performed O.K. but has a funky smell if you keep the door shut. We wash and dry about 4 loads per week so its not abused. Will not buy another LG.

Purchased an LG refrigerator six years ago and it lasted 18 months before the LG repairman said it was pure crap and that the Koreans were laughing their ** off at us. Purchased an LG oven at the same time and was just informed the repair will cost more than a new one. We actually fought a war for these lousy pieces of **. They now play us for a bunch of damn fools. What a waste. Will never buy anything made in Korea again.

Agree with the other one star reviews with this issue. This top loader never gets enough water in the tub (on normal cycle) to even get most of the clothes wet, let alone all of them! How can anyone expect clean clothes without water? I always need to press extra water or deep wash....which really wastes a lot of water as it will then fill up to the very top rim when I only want it to cover the clothes in the tub! Ridiculous machine - dont they test these things before putting them on the market? So wish wed returned it when we had the chance...but hubby said well get the gist of using it HA.

I purchased an LG topload washer - model #WT7600HWA in September of last year. Immediately I noticed that the clothes came out dingy and old looking. In December I noticed that some sort of fibrous looking matter was on the clothes when I removed them from the washer. It has gotten progressively worse and my clothes are being ruined as I have to rinse them several times and I still cant get it all off. Since January I have made at least 12 calls to customer service, executive services and now have been bumped up to product specialists. I have had 4 service calls and spoken with the manager of the department in the retail store where we purchased the machine. The LG service man who was last here acknowledged that there was a problem as he actually saw it on my clothes but told me that he could find no source for it so LG wouldnt replace the machine. I have documented with pictures and sent two letters with another going out today; have researched online and found complaints of the same thing happening to other people; and called my own appliance repair company that I have used on other appliances. They told me they had a customer with the exact same problem. They went out and took her machine apart and they were not able to find the source of the problem either. The matter that is left on the clothes looks like white/tan specks all of the clothes or it comes out in big streaks and smears. In my conversations with each and every department they have given me tasks and advice that contradict the information in their own product manual. I have run tub clean per their instructions many times. With product; with bleach; without anything; have had our water tested and drained our hot water heater. All to no avail. I think the appliance is defective in some way and LG will not replace it. It is ruining my clothes. At this rate I will have to purchase a new washer and a new wardrobe!

We purchased our fridge in Nov 2018. In March 2020 the freezer stopped freezing and the fridge stopped cooling. We have had 3 tech come in March to service our fridge on 3 separate occasions in order to evaluate our fridge. Each one said that our fridge just needed a software update. We have asked about getting our compressor replaced or them just replacing our unit and each time they refused because the techs state that the problem is the software. Its now June and our fridge just stopped working again today. Ive been on the phone for over an hour to speak with a manager. Im so frustrated with the amount of time and money that we have wasted with this product and company. All I want now is my money back for the product but they are telling me the same tech has to come out and do an evaluation of our fridge again! Never ever purchase an LG refrigerator. They company will do nothing to fix or even attempt to rectify an issue with their products.

I bought an LG french door fridge with bottom freezer. After just under a year, the ice machine went and I had to have it replaced. This was covered under warranty. However, my fridge is not quite 3 years old yet and the Linear Compressor went. LG told me the part is under warranty, but labor is not. So, I waited a week for the technician to come out and have a look at the fridge. He told me that the part is only about $150 (but covered under warranty), but the labor would cost me about $900 plus to fix and he couldnt even guarantee that it would work after. He told me to just buy a new fridge. So I spent $2300 not even 3 years ago and have to buy a new fridge. LG will not replace it.

I purchased an LG refrigerator 2 years ago. I listened to the guy at Home Depot and took his recommendation. Two weeks ago my refrigerator stopped cooling. A few days later an LG certified repair guy showed up and right away said he had to order a part in order to complete the repair. One week after the refrigerator stopped working the LG repairman serviced the unit unsuccessfully and LG executive department was unwilling to give any sort of credit for the labor portion of the bill. 10 days after the refrigerator stopped working the same LG repairman came to service the fridge again. This time it started to get a little cooler, approx 52-degree, but never got lower than that. Yesterday, over two weeks into the refrigerator not working the repairman did a third service on the refrigerator. Today I woke up to a 70-degree temperature inside my refrigerator.I contacted LG in hopes they would give me some sort of helpful resolution to this issue. The first guy I spoke with said after 3 unsuccessful repairs I might be eligible for compensation toward a new refrigerator. After 1 hour on the phone he transferred me to the executive department and the guy on the other end said no to a replacement, but that hed schedule another service...NEXT WEEK. Three weeks without a working refrigerator, three unsuccessful service calls, hundreds of dollars spend on labor, hundreds of dollars spend on food that went bad, hundreds of dollars spent on meals out (that would have normally been lower cost meals made at home), and very rude executive department. Needless to say, I will NEVER purchase an LG product again. Not just because of the product, but because their customer service STINKS! They have zero accountability and once you hit the executive department they are trained to say NO and treat you like garbage. If you try and ask for someone more senior they tell you to write a letter to a PO box in Huntsville Alabama. In this day and age where groceries can be delivered in an hour, parts can be shipped overnight, there is no reason someone should go without a working essential item like a refrigerator.

We exchanged a defective Samsung refrigerator for an LG 8 months ago and paid more for it as well. Right after Christmas found everything defrosted in our freezer and the refrigerator not working as well. Called LG and after waiting forever, told that nobody could come out for at least 4 days for repair. The repair guy shows up today to tell me the compressor is shot (again, after only 8 months) and he does not have one on his truck! He had 2 and used both this morning!! Now with the New Year Holiday one will not be delivered until next week and the repairman hopes he can get out to fix it then. After spending $2,800 I really didnt think Id have to be purchasing a mini refrigerator and loads of ice. Terrible product, worse customer service - save yourself money and DO NOT buy an LG product!

We purchased an LG top-load washing machine last year and it is by far the absolute worst washing machine I have ever owned. Almost EVERY single load, since the day it was delivered, becomes unbalanced and will not finish washing. Even after re-adjusting the items in the washer multiple times. It often takes an entire day to wash one load. Serious waste of water and electricity. From the other reviews I see it would also be a waste of money to attempt repairing this problem. LG claims that their appliances are built to last, but that is definitely not true for this gas stove. After only a few years of gentle use, it is falling apart. All the knobs are cracked, loose and need to be replaced, the centre grill cracked and broke, the LED display is starting to act up, the convection oven fan is pretty much useless. Gas valves are also really touchy and can be accidentally activated by accidentally bumping them. Parts are super expensive! LG wants almost $80 per knob to replace (there are five of them) and $240 for the grill assembly -- $640 + tax just for these parts! There are no electronics or moving components to knobs and grills -- they should last forever -- but they dont. Lots of complaints on the internet about LG stove knobs. Replacement knobs look like the same junk as the originals. No improvements. I called LG customer service to ask what they mean by built to last, but nobody could really say. My family and I are really disappointed that LG makes false claims about reliability and then charges outrageous prices for parts. Appliances should be repairable - at affordable prices - not disposable. We will be getting rid of this unreliable piece of junk and buying a stove from a reputable company. Please consider other manufacturers that are committed to reliability, service and environmental responsibility. LG does not deserve our business.

Do NOT buy any NEW Washing machine with a Load Sensor! It senses the weight
Do NOT buy any NEW Washing machine with a Load Sensor! It senses the weight of the load and determines what amount of water to add to wash the clothes. Since the Government has to be involved with every aspect of our lives to save energy & conserve water, this device is crap! There is never enough water to wash the clothes and the clothes do NOT come clean. This mandate has sent us back to the early 1900s way of doing laundry with an old wash tub, scrub board & old soap that actually cleans the clothes!!! I cant afford to buy new clothes every month & refuse to wear dirty clothes! Only way around it.... Luckily I have a wash sink next to my washer. As I put clothes into the tub, I run the faucet hose over to the washer & wet the clothes as I put them in the washer. This creates a heavy load & as the sensor weighs the load, it is heavier and adds the right amount of water to wash the clothes!!! I have a glass lid so I can stand there & watch the water level. Unbelievable that the Government tells the Manufacturers how to build a washer with devices we dont need or want!!! Doing laundry for over 45 years, I am bright enough to know a small, medium or large load and able to determine my own water level for the appropriate washing cycle. If you dont have a wash sink, you will have to wash your clothes TWICE! So much for saving water. What morons we have running the United States of America!!

We have a 3 1/2 year old LG refrigerator (French door, door in door) that we had installed in our new house. While I love the features, the repairs have been a nightmare. We are currently on our 4th compressor. Each time we have been 1-3 weeks without a refrigerator. We ended up having to buy a little one to get us through. With the installation of the last compressor, our warrantly was extended. The current compressor is supposed to be one of the “new improved” ones. After about 6 months, we lost cooling in the refrigerator and freezer. Part of our meat defrosted (we took pictures). The ice melted in the ice machine. There was no sound coming from the compressor for about a day. Then it started working again. 2 1/2 days later, we had ice. We called repair and it was going to take a week for “their” repairman to even make the first visit. This company had terrible reviews and no way to contact them. We asked to be changed to another certified repair company. We waited 5 days for them. When they inspected the refrigerator, since it had started working again, they could not find anything wrong with it other than high pressure in a line and told us we had to pay the bill. So now we are still on compressor 4 (5 would kick in the lemon law), it stops working when it pleases, fails to consistently keep our refrigerator/freezer compartment at the selected temperature (can be off by 10 degrees), and because the problem is intermittent, we have to pay for the repairman to come if it starts working again before they get there. Love the LG features but will never have another LG refrigerator.

LG front load washer is four years old. I got an LE message then the machine wouldnt run, so I called for service. Stainless Steel drum has lifetime warranty. The motor has 7-year warranty. The service technician was on the phone with LG for about an hour, apparently trying to understand the Pakistani man. The end result was $700 to repair the drum and motor and replace the plastic drum around the inner drum, which of course has no warranty, and about 5 hours labor to tear it all apart. It doesnt matter what model. It is a $1,000 washer that should not need $700 in repairs in four years. This is the very last LG product that is ever purchased at my house. Since the very first time I used this machine I have been so unhappy. I use the he products as specified in the user manual. My clothes come out of the wash dirty smell like mold. I sometimes have to wash some of the clothes by hand just to try to get my clothes clean. When I do wash my clothes by hand I see dirty residue comes from the clothes that I used took out of my high efficiency, expensive brand new washer. All my towels smell moldy. It makes me mad that I gave up an old top load washer machine to try to save some money and to keep up with the times. Now Im paying the price. I had a technician come to my house and he states that there was nothing wrong with the machine. Obviously there is if Im washing my clothes by hand!!! I have read that there are mold issues with this machine. Now my question is, is this mold a danger to my family? Is it going to ruin my expensive washer machine? What is LG going to do for their customers? Im not saving money since I have to wash my clothes several times. I have to buy products to wash the machine itself. I had to go and buy brand new towels because I do not want my family drying themselves with moldy smelling towels, but even that is not working because the new towels are already starting to smell like mold. I am SO disappointed and SO mad that I used my hard earned money on this piece of crap washer machine!!!!!

LG gaskets for French door model never sealed properly when I bought a few years ago. The gaskets would sometimes keep door from closing completely, but light and warning beeper would deactivate. Many times we would come back to refrigerator finding one door slightly ajar. LG help desk said to firmly close it and this was due to a tight, but normal fit. They were no help. Now, the top door gaskets have torn on both sides. LG said it has been over 1 year and I am s.o.l. They said there have not been any recalls and it has never been a problem. I went to appliance store and every make & model of refrigerators including LG had a new design of the gasket with a flap on top and bottom of gasket. LG said that my refrigerator gaskets can be replaced, but they are the original design. I contacted one of the certified LG repair service and they gave me a quote of $250 to replace gaskets. When I checked online, other owners of LG models like mine have had similar problems. I ordered both gaskets for $74 shipping included and installed them myself after viewing a YouTube demo. It was really easy and took about 15 minutes. Dont bother with LG customer service, it is a waste of time. LG does not mean Life is Good. It means Lucky Gold Star and you really need the luck for this appliance because quality & customer service has been deleted.

I bought an LG refrigerator, french door model, for my new home. I did purchase the extended warranty but it didnt take a year for problems to arise. 3 months after purchase I had front panel moisture, then the fridge and freezer stopped working. Three repair visits and 2.4 months later, they were unable to fix the fridge. Lost Enbrel shots (3K worth), all condiments, fruit, veggies, etc. There are no provisions from LG to compensate you at all for any loss. No fridge in the interim to live? - LG not concerned. A local appliance company sent me a loaner when things got desperate. The lack of quick follow-up, poor attitude on the phone, lack of interest in finding a repair company that will come out to fix the appliance and a general interest in taking care of the problem was outrageous. Literally have never had this kind of experience. 3 months... Why didnt LG recognize it might be a bad unit and move to replace the appliance? I will tell everyone I know, the builder who has much of the business here, neighbors, workmates, etc. to not buy LG appliances. That is my only power as a consumer. I understand if things break - what I dont understand is a company failing to stand behind a $2600.00 appliance that is 3 months old. Shame on LG!

While we were away our LG refrigerator, LMXS30776D/02 model, compressor quit working. We lost all our food in freezer and refrigerator compartments. Our home and refrigerator has a horrific smell, I havent been able to neutralize. (Baking soda, vanilla, and coffee beans.) A technician came to our home a few days later and was not able to repair the refrigerator. Since LG knew it had an ongoing problem with the compressor, it was discontinued. Technician from LG had to order a universal compressor. Once the part is installed, he then needs to check for leaks since coils may be corroded. We have been buying ice everyday for our cooler and can only buy enough for for the day. Inconvenience. Sad we replaced all our appliances 3 years ago for LG. Poor reliability and service for an appliance costing $2800. I am very concerned about another failure in the universal compressor after reading the previous reviews. LG had a poor response and was not acting in good faith to loyal customers. This is a major investment for families, not to be taken lightly.

We shopped around a little bit then it came down to which one we liked in terms of aesthetics. We chose LG pretty much for the features. Its a beautiful refrigerator and I like the visibility of the program, the temperature and those type of things. But our experience has not been good so far. The top part stopped cooling and then apparently, something happened with the ice getting blocked. Im not sure how that actually happened but we had to turn it off and take the ice out. It was a little bit of a pain. But the repair guy was really great and the customer service was good other than the fact that they overbooked the guy to come out that day. He was a little late. But he was able to fix the issue and hopefully, it stays okay. If not, well have to call LG back.

Our daughter and son-in-law purchased a LG french door fridge six years ago. Love the french door... but... after about 1-1/2 years... maybe 2... the fridge went out. My husband pulled the panel off the back and found a fuse blown. Cant order just a fuse? What? Had to order a whole new circuit board... $$$. So we took burnt fuse out and went to local hardware and purchased one as close as we could. Installed and waalaa it worked again. Now, it happened again so we showed our daughter and son-in-law how to change the fuse and keep the wires clean... The fridge goes out about once a year but wow does it save them a ton of money being able to fix themselves. And the fridge works just fine! GOOD LUCK!

This washer left flakes of filth on my clothes after less than a month of washing for a family of 2! Customer Service said to buy a product at Home Depot and run “tub clean”. I did this but the flakes come back every 2-3 weeks and I must run the tub clean cycle and use the product, then rewash my clothes! What a waste of time, money and water! After running tub clean, the tub still needs to be wiped out. At 5’1” I cannot reach the bottom of the tub. I use a step stool which throws off my center of gravity. I also fear that the pressure on my ribs may fracture them...I am 69 and have osteoporosis. I wish I’d never bought this washer.

Purchased an LG glass top range in August of 2014. Am the only person in the household using the above product, not being used that often. The very first time I use the cleaner provided by LG it takes off the black top surface from one of the elements. Called 18885422623 and the person I talked to said theres nothing they can do - is cosmetic. Surely there has to be some defect for the black surface to come off after just one time cleaning with product provided by LG. I did not pay big bucks for the surface to come off & accept that there is nothing LG can do. I have extended warranty too. Honestly regret purchasing LG appliances.

Now the compressor has gone out on the fridge. It leaked water all over my hardwood floors. Of course everything is out of warranty. Im so disgusted with LG. These appliances were part of a kitchen renovation from Home Depot. Never, ever again!!! Updated on 12/25/2020: DO NOT BUY LG UNTIL YOU READ THIS. 2ND COMPLAINT. LG has not followed up on resolving issue with our LG refrigerator as Promised. They have not responded to emails and only way to contact is through Consumer Affairs. We used unit 53 days and broke down. LG says not repairable and have to Reorder a New unit 11/20/2020, with a delivery date 1/25/2021. Louis, webmaster for LG, assured within 10 business days it would be resolved. I filed complaint 12/5/20, called 12/23/20 because LG has not contacted me. Ashley at LG stated that Claim and Case WAS NOT Submitted nor processed and have to resubmit and wait another 10 business days for their response, if any. LG wants us to follow up if they dont contact us after 1/3/2021. UNBELIEVABLE! We have not used our LG Refrigerator since 10/28/2020, look how long LG has Procrastinated in resolving issue. LG will not contact us, follow up or make our case a PRIORITY as Louis stated it was. When LG states on 12/23/2020 they have to resubmit claim because of their error and we have to follow up ourselves is disturbing. I am sorry to write a 2nd review, but again, LG will not contact us accept through this site. VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE RESOLUTION PROCESS. All we want is our LG Refrigerator that we bought and paid for. Is this asking to much from LG?Original Review: Terrible Customer Service and Quality of 2020 LG Counter Depth French. Received on 9/3/2020. Broke down, No power at unit, on 10/28/2020. It took LG 19 days to inspect after missing 3 LG scheduled repairs appointments that LG set up for us. LG opened 5 Customer Concern Reports and Three Different Repair Orders. Refrigerator not repairable and none in stock through Home Depot. We had to Reorder another LG unit and paid extra for an ESP plan to protect ourselves, $195.00 dollars for an ESP plan to Protect ourselves. LG promised delivery 1/25/2021, UNBLIEVEABLE. Home Depot tried to elevate our New Order, 11/20/2020, but with no help from LG. Home Depot would rather upset an American Customer than upset LG, a South Korean Company, who lacks American Values, Culture, Empathy and Ethics. LG should provide FREE 5 year ESP plan with units to Prove that LG has Trust and Confidence in their Products.

LGR4113ST - I love how this oven bakes/roasts at such an even temperature. However, the front knobs turn much too easily (they only need to be pushed in maybe 1-2mm). I called after I inadvertently turned the gas on, while reaching for a spice, to see if there was a retrofit, but was told no. My kids late teens/early 20s have all accidentally turned the knobs on the range, and Ive come home no less than three occasions to my home reeking of propane. I thought there were laws in place to prevent such hazards. Do not buy this if you have little ones as its much too dangerous.

We have a 5 year old LG oven that began experiencing issues with the cooktop 1-2 months ago. The burners will work, but only rarely. They will turn on and heat for maybe 5 seconds and then turn off. Sometimes they will work for a few minutes, and then turn off. Never on long enough to cook a meal, or if you are in the middle of cooking it will power down to barely on and you are stuck. The front larger burners work way less than the rear burners, and the left burners are way more problematic than the right. There is a heat vent to release excess heat from the oven and glass cooktop located under the control panel on the left hand side that is frying the computer components in the control panel causing malfunction. This is a known design and engineering issue.I have tried calling LG, and they tell me there is nothing they can do. I tried communicating with them on Facebook and they tell me there is nothing they can do. There are many people documenting the same issue on places like Youtube and even here. Everyone one of them, right around the five year mark this starts happening to them. There are many replies from people saying LG did the right thing and fixed this for them. New computers. New control panels. The entire back replaced. Nothing for me. Super disappointed that our $900+ oven only lasted 5 years before its going to need a repair call and expense for me.We replaced our entire kitchen with Consumer Reports top-rated LG appliances five years ago. The dishwasher is already gone; too expensive to repair that compared to the cost of a new model. Still have microwave, and refrigerator. Oven is failing as mentioned. We also have two 65 LG TVs and an LG washer in our house. Doesnt matter how long we have been a customer, LG is making this difficult.

Like the other review, if you set your oven to bake at 350, and watch a professional thermometer inside the oven, you will see the oven climb to around 475 and stay there for a few minutes while the panel says the temp inside oven is only 345. If you then set the oven down to bake at 345 in hopes of still being able to cook something before your house burns down, the oven will inform you that it is actually only 340 degrees in the oven, and continue blazing away until it is satisfied. It will eventually beep to let you know it is ready. At that point, ensuring there is no flammable material within 10 ft, you will need to open the door and leave it open for about a minute to let it cool down. Once the oven has cooled down, you are now ready to cook, and the oven works flawlessly. I agree that the gas knobs are easily turned on when you brush against it, but thats just the way it is and I can live with it. Gas burners work flawlessly and I love cooking on it. Just wish I knew how to turn off the incinerator preheat setting.

I was told by a repairman about two refrigerator brands to buy, saying they have less returns and less repairs. And so, I went with the LG. The refrigerator looks really nice and I was happy with it, but it wasn’t even two years old and it broke twice. I’m very dissatisfied with it. It quit getting cold, and ruined my groceries twice. When it started ruining my food, I thought it was just the food. I didn’t notice it as it took a little while to warm up. And then come to find out it would start melting my ice cream. It was a little over a year when it first went out. I called Lowe’s, where I bought it, and then they turned anything to get it fixed. Then in less than three months, the refrigerator did it again. I called again, and then I had to wait quite some time for the parts to come in.The compressor went out and something else along with it. And so, when they fixed it the second time, they had to redo everything, and put something else in there. LG has a good warranty on certain parts of the refrigerator. But we paid $3,800 for that. Its working now, and it works nicely, but I don’t trust it anymore because it went out twice. I wouldn’t buy another one because of the problems that I had with them.

We cleared the fridge out and the coils were fine (not frozen). We tried everything. Then realizing it wasnt something we could fix at this point we called LG. LG then proceeded to tell us that someone would contact us in 24-48 hrs about our fridge to schedule a repair... well no call. So we called again, they said someone would fix to in 15 or so days. 15 days without a fridge?! Was told they would call us back in a couple hours so they can look into it. AGAIN, no call back! Imagine that! We are beyond frustrated! Upon researching the company, they are known their fridges having issues!

LG Electric Range- LRE30453ST. After using the self-cleaning feature in the oven, I noticed the interior looked as if it had been chipped or scratched. I then found pieces of the enamel on the oven floor. I called LG to complain. They asked me to send them pictures of the oven. After emailing them the pictures, they came back, said that it was out of warranty and I did not purchase an extended warranty. Their conclusion was that the chipping was caused by owner neglect. I was fuming since I did not do anything to cause this. I only used the self-cleaner. I asked to speak to someone in a higher position and was told that they were the highest I could go. I preceded to inform them that I would not take that as an answer. I still have the pieces of enamel that came off. I told them that I would be contacting the Better Business Bureau and anyone else I knew to report this and they told me, to go ahead.Im stuck with an appliance that I wonder whether it is safe or not. Within months of buying our LG refrigerator, the fake stainless steel finish started coming off the handles. Now the handles looked worn and shabby. I called a repairman and had them replaced with new handles. These lasted just about a year, and then the fake stainless finish started coming off again. They look terrible ...scratchy, peeling, shabby ... just makes the refrigerator look awful. Same thing is happening to the outside covering on the door ice dispenser. Not only that, the ice maker will suddenly stop producing ice. Then we just have to wait until it decides to start working again. Sometimes its a few days ...other times a week or two. I hate this refrigerator and will not ever buy LG again. We are in the process of replacing this refrigerator. While looking around, I see LG still has not upgraded their handles to real stainless steel. (At least, they should offer an upgrade, or free replacements.) This is the WORST experience I have ever had with a major appliance. I should have known when LG started sending yearly checks to make up for under estimating the electric usage of this model. I have replaced gaskets around the doors twice. However, my MAJOR complaint is the tubing that runs to the ice maker. I have had repairs/tubing replacement no less than 6 times in five years. Almost every six months the tubing (5/16 tubing - which is virtually impossible to find) springs a pinpoint leak and water is all over my kitchen floor. She gave me numbers of two service people in my area, or so she thought. I called them both and they do not service my area. There is no one that services my area. I called LG back, they said they would call me back when they get a resolution and that could take 5-6 business days. I have 2 pairs of $100.00 shoes in a washer and cannot get them out. Im on Day 5 without a refrigerator. It started with one of the two ice makers quitting. Service Call to LG difficult to understand, but we shook the freezer and would wait 24 hours to see if that worked. Threw out a lot of food. I requested a service call but was denied. After 24 hours, the entire refrigerator stopped working. Call #2, and throw out the rest of the food. We were told to pull the refrigerator from the wall and unplug it, and run a phone check through their system. Advised to wait 24 hours because it seemed to the operator that it was fixed. Woke up to water all over the floor. The machine is humming but its not cooling. 75 degrees on interior thermometer. This was the third call and a service call was placed on our behalf. Finally, request for service call was authorized. Wait wait wait. Holiday week-end. Service called Tuesday and appeared Tues. Reported the compressor and panel needed to be replaced. Wait for two more days while the parts are obtained. THIS IS A NIGHTMARE! Why did I think LG was the best there was? I will get this repaired and forget about buying the other kitchen appliances to match it. Good point $300 food reimbursement will be provided because I have a service plan. A drop in the bucket and 7 days to resolve a refrigerator issue is crazy. My dad had heart bypass and was working fine within 5 days... Only registered techs can repair it if you can find someone in your area. It has been two months, three service people and two plus hours on the phone with LG and I have yet to have a service person even begin to work on it. If the next service person who comes (tech number 4 in 3 weeks) tells me that it really isnt this its really that and of course they dont have the part or the order was not written correctly or they just dont show up because they resigned and didnt tell anyone, I will pull my hair out. I advise anyone who is considering this refrigerator to find something else and save yourself the frustration (They should have minus stars on here).

This product I paid $854.99 plus taxes and is upsetting to know this washer is done forever. I purchased on May 3, 2012 at Best Buy. I contact Best Buy they cant do anything about it because I dont have the protection plan. Really for a new washer, my grandmas washer is 15 years old and works fine. My husband contact LG they cant do anything about it because the warranty expired within one year of the date of purchase. So we contact Sears for $200. They came over to do the diagnostic so basically the top computer is outdated, running on the wrong setting, needs to be updated and we need to buy the top setting which is $500.00 plus labor work!!! So if we do this means we basically expending $800.00 if you do the math. DONT BUY LG.

My LG top loading washing machine (WT5101H) is 7 years old and it has never performed well, even after a recall fix. And now, the drum is sitting on the floor under the machine. I live south of Atlanta and there is only one service technician and he is over an hour away. Having one qualified service tech for the entire Atlanta area is absurd! My dishwasher broke down after 5 years - the heating element went out and started leaking water. The ice machine on the refrigerator has failed several times. I spent close to $5000 on these LG appliances and Im so disappointed. Never again.

LG makes it difficult for repairmen to buy parts. This forces you to use their customer service. I understand the rationale in this, it can help the company ensure the machine gets fixed by an LG approved repairman. Having said this, the LG customer service is based in the Philippines. I dont blame the workers there who are trying their best, however, their training and product knowledge is so limited they are unable to think rationally about a course of action for my problem. I cant prove this, but it seemed that my calls with questions about my LG washer-dryer (which broke 5 times in 2 years) prompted the service centre to consult a script instead of thinking and answering. I wondered this because their answers did not address my question. Based on the other reviews Ive read, this will be my first and last purchase of any LG product. It seems they are designed to be attractively cheap, but break easily, then have poor service to correct the problems. I will never endorse this company to any colleagues.

Recently, our DLG6988s dryer (part of a combo) stopped heating. Everything seemed to be working, but no heat! We called the point of purchase (POP) company. We had purchased a 4-year extended warranty program with them. The company provided a work order for repair. The repair diagnosis, full replacement as there had been a fire because the lint was not leaving the dryer but instead, getting in around the drum and the harness was damaged. There was no lint in the tube, none in the lint catch area. It was around the drum instead. No repair could be done. According to the repairman, who has seen this before, this is apparently is a problem with LG gas dryers of this model, which they no longer make, and a report was sent to LG.LG informed us that since we had purchased an extended warranty, the POP company would look after us. We went back to the POP company and their extended warranty department told us that the dryer credit would be prorated and we would be given in-store credit to spend on a new dryer. We looked at dryers and to purchase a comparable dryer to the one we have now. The total cost, including extended warranty, is now another $706.00 over and above the credit we were given. We contacted LG regarding the dryer and the customer service rep told us they would not replace it since the LG warranty was up. The POP company will not replace it, but would give us the credit, take it or leave it.We did not cause the fire. We cleaned our machine diligently of lint. There was no lint anywhere other than in the drum area. They are removing the dryer tomorrow, however, I would like to prove to LG that this defect is their responsibility and the dryer, which is less than 5 years old, should be replaced. The downside would be it would be another LG product. We will never buy another LG product and I urge you to do the same. Because of the offshore parts problem with LG, any repairs that can be made can take more than 5 weeks and their customer service is unsatisfactory to put it mildly. Do your homework before purchasing anything from this company!

I like so many others, purchased my French Door LG refrigerator on 11/13/2015. Almost four weeks ago I walked into the kitchen and discovered a puddle of water on the floor. Called a local repair service and they came over and said it was the board. They ordered a new one, which took two weeks to get. Installed it and guess what, that wasnt the problem. Its the compressor! I has to call a certified LG repair service and they have ordered the new part, said it will take 7-10 days to get. So hopefully by the end of next week it will arrive. In the meantime after reading all of these complaints I have called NBC News Better Get Bacquero and am also filing a complaint with the District Attorney in NYS. I suggest that everyone who has these issues (there seem to be over 1900 of us) do the same thing. By the way, if you check out the complaints re: the Kenmore refrigerators also made by LG there are a total of over 4000 complaints. Something needs to be done!!

LG French Door refrigerator - I hope this review will provide you with enough information to stay FAR AWAY from LG. I purchased this refrigerator in May, 2013. In early September 2017 the compressor died. Until LG determined that there was NO qualified installer in the Phoenix area, they made a one time arrangement with an independent contractor to install the new compressor. Five weeks later the replacement died and we have been arguing with LG customer service to have a new compressor installed. This has been going on for about a week. Two weeks ago I had knee replacement surgery and I am to ice it quite frequently. It take a freezer to do that. My wife has to keep going to the market to buy ice for me. LG does not give a damn about anything. They will offer no compensation for food lost, we asked LG to replace the refrigerator and they just laughed it off. As of today we still do not know when this will be repaired. What a disgrace!

LG presented a visually impeccable top loading washer. I was impressed with its sleek look, detailed function keys, and seemingly user-friendliness. I purchased this sleek machine from Lowe’s and parked the box in my basement anticipating opening day. As life would have it, I didnt have the big reveal until almost two months later. Opening night was great. Old Kenmore was removed after 15 years. I was due for an upgrade, I believed. LG was it! Water hooked, check; machine leveled, check. All components checked and re-checked. And then we tried a load. The auto select set me up to wash for more than an hour, but I looked beyond that. I questioned the few drops of detergent needed as well as the few drops of water the machine used, but I looked beyond those too. I walked away and was summoned back to my laundry room by the banging of this beaut in the spin cycle. The machine almost met me at the stairs; its movements were so profound! We checked, doubled, tripled everything - the very spot where my Kenmore sat for years was no longer good enough for King LG. We must have done something wrong, so we tried again. After all, this was an LG!That was enough for me! Returned this fabulous looking useless piece of junk to Lowe’s who informed me that their return policy was seven days on appliances! I called LG, per Lowe’s instructions. Both LG and Lowe’s suggested a repair man. To repair what?? The once-used over buttoned, fab looking ornament? Disgusting! LG should be ashamed of this pile of junk and should stick to what they know. These corporations, including the retailers who carry these over priced inferior products have no integrity and should be held accountable! Im not done with Lowe’s or LG! This is way more than about money! But do not waste yours, please...

I purchased a top loading LG washing machine three years ago and I absolutely hate it!!! It takes forever to wash and the clothes dont smell clean! The machine itself stinks and It is so bad I have to use air fresheners in my laundry room. I tried the tub cleaning liquid (whoever thought you would have to clean a washing machine!) and bleach several times and only on the day I do this does it not smell. By the next day the smell is back! Dont buy this washing machine! I am so sorry I purchased it and I am ready to bust it up with a hammer so I can get a new one (never LG again!). Paid a lot of money for it too!

The machine was part of a stacked set purchased from Sears in Toronto with extended warranty in late 2012. It was very reliable until 2019 when it was 6 years and 6 months old. It then developed a leak and need a new gasket which was provided by LG under their One Price service (about $280, I recall). Last month it developed a further leak. My wife read the manual and looked for possible causes. She cleaned out the soap dispenser - this resulted in a flood when we turned the machine on.We called LG - we were no longer eligible for their full price service. They despatched a local company, European Appliance Repair. They charged $300 Canadian plus tax (extra because they needed two men for a stacked unit). My wife told them the full story - an initial leak, and then a flood. They replaced a small part. The next day there was a small leak - we were unsure if there was residue from the flood, but immediately contacted LG. We said we would wait a few days to see if the leak persisted. It became evident that it would occur on the spin cycle whenever there was a full load. We rang up and made an appointment for June 22nd. The appointment was then postponed to the 23rd in a message received on June 16.On June 19 at close of business we got a message saying our appointment was cancelled or postponed. It was impossible to get clarification till the new week began. On June 21 at 9.00 we rang and were informed that someone would come that day, and that the cancellation message was an error. However, nobody could come that day, because European Appliance Repair did not recall they had to send two people out. An appointment was made for 3 to 5 on the 23rd, but the same two repairmen appeared at 8 p.m. They announced after 35 minutes that we would need a gasket. We would have to pay for the part and additional labour. They denied that we had told them that we had a leak before my wife cleaned the soap dispenser. We have no idea whether they did not hear what my wife had said or were telling an untruth. It was clear to us that they were in a hurry on both occasions, probably overworked because of the pandemic. We noted that a gasket had been replaced the previous year. Gaskets, we were told, could never be guaranteed because customers often put sharp objects in machines. We spoke to an LG rep. on the phone. He insisted that no further charge would be levied, and that, if we did not get satisfaction, LG would give us an allowance toward a new machine. Two days later we spoke to a woman at European Appliance Repair. They proposed to treat the repair as a separate problem and charge 250 labor plus tax plus the cost of the part (plus, of course, $620 Canadian we had paid for April, 2019 and May, 2020 leaks). They had clearly heard nothing from LG.After this we spoke with three LG reps. (we had difficulty communicating with the first two). The third person with whom we spoke said that a gasket would not normally tear because a few coins had gone through the machine (we do not keep sharp objects in our pockets). Furthermore, he agreed to escalate the issue and get back to us the next day. He warned that the replacement model that succeeded ours might not be stackable with the old dryer, should we decide on replacement by LG. We do not have room to house the units in another way.Naturally enough, nobody from LG did get back to us in 24 hours about our “escalated issue. Today we decided to buy a stackable set made by another manufacturer. We are surrendering a perfectly good dryer - but there appears to be no alternative. On the basis of this experience I would not advise anybody to buy an LG washer or dryer, unless you expect to replace your machine every six years, and to be particularly careful when selecting stackable units.

I go on and with all the problems I have had with this fridge from one month after I got it and all the food that I have lost and LG wont do nothing about it. Especially now that it is off of warranty. It first started with the ice maker and then the fans that keep going out in the freezer and you would have to turn the numbers and it would end up freezing the food on top and then it get so warm you end up throwing all of your food out. Just like the other day, I had to throw over half of my food and food is not cheap. I have had repairman and repairman after repairman out and it maybe fixed for a couple of weeks or a month and it would be back at it again. I have tried to get LG to replace it or give my money back and they couldnt care less. I have asked them about the lemon policy they mention in the paper and they couldnt care less. Just like would tell me there is no such thing and I would tell them I have it here in black and white and now that my extended warranty is out, Home Depot wont have anything to do with you. They just want to go away. I cant afford to buy another one but do they care? Heck, no. They think youll just go out and replace it. I paid close to $2,000 for it and they dont. Now the top half is keeping things so warm I cant trust putting food in it because in a couple of days, it would be sour and would just have to throw it out. Now dont expect them or anyone to help you. Now, my ice maker is at it again and my electric bill is really showing it because I have to turn it up. All I am asking them to do is replace it and not with the same model and you think they would even bother consider that, no!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What the consequences is that you dont get a replacement or get any money back and lime. I said I could go on for days of all the problems but what good would it do? So guess who does without a fridge, not them, me. Someone needs to do something with them not even wanting to replace it and when you are willing to even downgrade yourself. I have all the same complaints if not more as everyone else but you only can place so much on this. And no one cares anyways and NO HELP ANYWAY, but I thought I at least could write this and try and WARN OTHER PEOPLE, DONT EXPECT ANY HELP.

Bought a Kenmore elite (this one is just a LG under the Kenmore name) back in July of 2017 for $2400. Compressor is dead. Freezer doesnt freeze and refrigerator does not get cold. Sears sent a tech out and he quickly determined its the LG compressor issue. Parts are covered but it will be $487 to replace compressor, dryer filter and 3 way valve. Oh and there are plenty of accounts of it just failing again in a few months. UGH... Never LG anything again. You have been warned!

We bought our french door fridge in 2007. First I noticed that the shelves sag, and dont seem to hold weight very well. I had to replace the door to the pull out drawers twice, and Ive just put in a second service call regarding the ice maker. We replaced it once already, for the price of $412. If we have to replace it again, we will have spent $1,000 on repairs, for a fridge that cost $2,000. I will never buy an LG product again. And if youre thinking, maybe were being a little rough with the appliance, our family consists of two adults, period.

Its out of warranty with LG, but still has extended warranty with Best Buy.Best Buy has been here already 4 times and put 2 parts in. Now theyre playing with the refrigerator temp on the door, trying to adjust the temperature and testing my milk with this temp gauge. I bought this model (LSXS26326S) back in 2015, yes this come with 1 year warranty. June 2017, with no clue its just stop being refrigerator, ice not produce, not cool only one thing works is lighting. Called customer service right away, they question me if I have warranty? Yes 1 year warranty. If this case happens 10-20 years later it means this refrigerator already do their jobs, but only 2 years? Dont you think it something wrong might happen with their production? Its not like you bought a car, which is depending on how fast you drive, how aggressive you drive, care taking. But refrigerator what I only do is put food into refrigerator thats it. This refrigerator cost 1.5 k not some hundred dollar. I made a decision to purchase LG brands because I think that I could TRUST them. LG team gave me time to fix this on July 29th which is I could not accept this. I would like to get a same new working refrigerator or higher immediately or full refund so I can buy a refrigerator to keep my food cold and because I feel like I pay too much for this refrigerator that only working for 2 years. LG has met my initial expectations. Price was the first reason for purchasing this refrigerator. We loved the fact that the shelving was movable. Lots of space, very nicely organized. Well built. Satisfied my growing family. Great color choices. Nicely constructed. Very happy with the service we received. More freezer space needed though. I chose to purchase an LG refrigerator over other brands because this brand had what I was looking for at the time. LG has met my expectations. I would still consider purchasing an LG brand, but I would consider getting a different style. The features that I like most about the refrigerator is that it has a built in freezer, as well as an ice dispenser and water dispenser. I like to be able to have my fridge produce ice rather than going to buy ice or having to make it with a tray. The features that I dislike about the refrigerator is that after a while, the freezer component becomes very noisy when you open it. Another feature that I dislike would be that the ice dispenser becomes very frozen and the ice gets stuck together and I have to break off the ice pieces individually.

I purchased an Lg Washer and dryer a little over a year ago. Within the first year I had to have the washer repaired a total of four times with three of those repairs being done for the same issue. When I bought the washer at Pacific Sales in San Dimas Ca, I purchased an extended warranty. Just recently, the washer began to leak water again. I contacted the warranty department and notified them of the problem. They sent a technician out and he deemed the washer unrepairable since it had been repaired for the same thing several times. I then contacted LG and told them that they needed to replace my washer or give me my money back. This washer is a lemon. They told me that I was out of warranty and that I had to deal with my extended warranty company. I told them that I already had and that since the problem was a pre-existing one, they would have to replace it.So after two months, I still dont have a washer that works and not only that, I have a wash room that has been damaged due to the leaks from the washer. My wood floor has begun to warp. I have done everything that LG has asked me to do and provided and they continue to give me the run around and blaming everyone but themselves.

My refrigerator is 4 months old. Recently we came home to a strong acetone smell in the house and noticed that appliance was not cooling. Called LG for warranty repair and they set up a service visit for 2 days later. I called the service company 3 times that day to confirm, left messages without hearing back. Missed one day of work. Called LG that same Friday and was told to a service company would come out the next Monday (3 more days with no fridge). They arrived Monday and determined that there was a Freon leak in one of the coils. They ordered parts. I then called LG and requested that they replace the 4-month old appliance and they refused. They said that the repair service would have to label the unit unrepairable. The parts then arrived on Wed. I called the service company and they came out in Thursday to complete the repair (3 days of missing work). After the repair in Friday, (9 days without fridge) the acetone smell continued for several hours. The freezer never really kicked in. I am now attempting to set up another service call. So we installed a new LG range last month during a kitchen remodel. Huge capacity oven, which I appreciate, but the chime indicating preheating target temperature is 100 degrees too early. It ultimately reaches target temp, but about 10 minutes later. The first casserole baked gave us mild food poisoning as we erroneously believed it had cooked according to the recipe. In fact, it was placed in the oven 100 degrees below temp, lost heat in the process of opening the door, then was never cooked long enough. Now I have an internal gauge hung in the middle of the oven space, which I have to illuminate with a flashlight shone through the door, to monitor temp. What a colossal waste of $1300.

We had our home built 15 years ago and purchased GE appliances and decided in 2012 to upgrade to stainless steel. We purchased an LG microwave and a LG refrigerator.. Model LFX31925ST.... It was the biggest mistake we ever made. The first 6 months the microwave had to be repaired and now the refrigerator light is out in the water and ice dispenser area. In addition the ice maker no longer works. The Smart Diagnostics says the first time that we have opened the refrigerator frequently... There are no children in the house and we eat out. The second diagnostic report says we are not closing the door and air is escaping. We had the GE products and NEVER had a problem. The only issue was they were white. We are both retired law enforcement and have been asked by friends and relatives about the beautiful piece of junk in our kitchen. I have referred them to ANY brand but LG. We have an LG television and I am waiting to see what happens with it. We will get it repaired and probably put it in our rental property or donate it to the Goodwill. Your appliances ARE A PIECE OF JUNK. I am so angry because my husband wanted GE or Whirlpool... but no I chose LG. Believe me I hear about at least twice a day!!!! Extremely dissatisfied customer!
