I wanted to let everyone know that there is a class action lawsuit for the refrigerators with the light not going out. It has been settled. Our four-year-old refrigerator (LG Refrigerator Model No. LCF25760SW with French doors) is having ice maker problems too. There are no repairmen in our area. It leaked water out into the floor while we were at work and caused floor damage. I ordered another ice maker from someone that LG recommended. It still has problems. Home Depot is where I bought it, but I cant get them to give me a repairmans phone number either. I will never ever buy another LG product again as long as I live. If you live in the middle of nowhere, dont buy LG products! They are not worth the price at all or the trouble.

My 6-year-old refrigerator quit completely (most likely compressor). I called LG as parts are still under warranty. They gave me 3 places to call to schedule a repair. Two places stated they no longer accepted any service calls on LG repairs and one said she was so far out of my area she didnt know why they gave me their number. I called LG back and was told to see if I could find somebody. I called several places and got the same thing so I called LG back again. I was then told I would be placed with scheduling and somebody would call me in 3 to 5 business days. I asked was their list different or more current and was told his list was fine. I asked him to go unplug his refrigerator for the next 10 days and throw away $300.00 worth of food. He said there was no reason for me to get smart. This is unbelievable. LG doesnt know which of their service providers still honor their calls??? I am now shopping for a refrigerator after 3 days of doing without and no resolution in sight and considering an attorney. I have read far too many horror stories.

Bought Sears Kenmore Model 795*77319600 (During troubleshooting I discovered this unit was made by LG for Sears!) in Oct 2007. Sequence of failure(s): 1st) Nov 2007 Upper freezer drawer basket rail bracket tabs crack - I used nylon zip ties to hold basket in place. 2nd) Apr 2008: Lower freezer drawer bin divider cracked at top edge. - Lived with defect, hoping it would hold. Repaired crack by splicing it with a plastic reinforcement plate in Aug 2014. 3rd) June 2010: Refrigerator lights fail, no plastic melted, nor food spoilage - I researched and found numerous similar customer complaints and LG recommended fix. I removed light cover lens, and both light bulbs, and used fridge w/o light! 4th) July 2014: Freezer no longer makes ice, progressively temperature gets warmer, then refrigerator starts to stay warm - Decided not to involve Sears Customer Service for repair, but rather do it myself. $1200 fridge/freezer should not die @ 7 years! I did some research, found a similar model service manual online, did some troubleshooting of the cooling/freezing system - sensor(s), and defrost timer. Found R134a to be too low. Fixed it myself for $35. Maybe I can get 7 more years @ $5 per year out of this LG piece of junk! I sympathize with my fellow Americans. Consumer trust has declined due to cheap poorly designed products... Whats the reason? Greed, Lack of Pride, Lack of Accountability. Make junk so we can buy more sooner? What would our ancestors think?

I bought this LG washer/dryer set in 2004 and had only one repair on the washer in 2014. It is till running strong. I am very satisfied with this washer. The dryer is slowing down. I have to dry towels on the highest settings twice. Other than that it dries sufficiently. Would be LG definitely again.

I purchased my LG washer (WT5001C) at my local Home Depot on 7/2/2011. On 2/6/12, it wouldnt spin out the water. I called and they gave me the phone number of A & E Services. I spoke with them on 2/27/12 and they couldnt look at it until 3/8/12 when they told me the motor and the mainboard in the computer were gone. They said it would take another week and a half to get the parts (if they were in stock) because they were coming from Korea. I dont think I would ever buy another LG product!

It was new and we needed a new one and the other one wasnt keeping the food cold. This led us to buy another one. However, we had to shop around to find the right prince and the right features. It wasnt an easy task. Simple things like the space and the defrost feature make the fridge helpful and low maintenance. Its easy to clean as well. Mostly, it was an affordable option for our current situation and we were able to purchase the warranty as well. But I dont like how short the shelves are and the fact that the butter falls out when I open the door. The shelves arent. The shelves also have limitations as to how deep they are and how far they go back. This makes it hard to shop for foods that come in different packaging all enough to accommodate the drinks.

I bought a LG dishwasher in 2017 from Home Depot. Registered it and it worked fine for almost a year. Then it started stopping before the drying cycle and constant beeping and didnt drain. Over the coarse of 9 months, 2 different repair companies, many hours on the phone, weve had the control panel replaced 2 times, the mother board replaced 1 time, the door lock/latch 3 times. Each repair lasts about 2-3 weeks. I have taken videos of the problem when they didnt believe me. The machine shows no error code and the smart app on my phone when linked says the machine is working fine. I have asked for a replacement washer because this is a lemon. I have documented all my emails to LG and to the service techs. When I read all the negative reviews on this same product, and under the review LG replies to contact them by calling them, or contacting on Facebook or Twitter because they want to make it right, I have to laugh. I have done all that including contacting them on Facebook. When the repair man visits your home and reports your problem to LG tech support, then sends the report to LG, tells you to wait for LGs response. No response in over a week so I call customer support. You cant call tech support only the repair guys have access to them. Customer service doesnt have access to Tech support. They leave them a note to call you. So you go round and round. As I am writing this I am waiting again for the repair man to arrive to fix my LG dishwasher that now will not start at all on any setting. It flashes, then beeps then stops.

My wife purchased the top of the line LG French door at Lowes in Griffin, Ga 7-27-14 (over $3000!). On 8-13, unit made strange humming sound and 8-14, freezer quit (suspect frig also but we kept door closed). Called LG 7pm 8-14 and the advisor had me go thru a bunch of steps (it was quite obvious he was reading the steps and had no clue what he was advising). He asked had we reset?? anything or made any adjustments to the temp...I wouldnt even know HOW? He had me unplug, then reset temp to -6 and then place a cup of water in the freezer and call him back in 3 hours. The whole time humming/unusual sounds still there. I called back at 11pm EST as instructed, and cup of water still just a cup of water, did not freeze. He then told me we were out of their normal service area??? and it will take 2-3 days for a technician to arrive! Seriously! Hello, this is the year 2014, not 1934. I then got upset. I called Lowes the next morning at 6am. They brought a loaner frig and placed on our front porch. As soon as it was unloaded, the LG mysteriously started working and the sound went away. I am calling Lowes this morning for a full refund. I am not going to get involved with this mystery problem going back and forth. LG customer service, horrible, I AM OUT and will never purchase any LG product. Please dont make the mistake we made, do your research first!! Shame on you Lowes for offering this frig as a top end! Do your research Lowes purchasing agents.

Spending nearly $900 on my LG washing machine was the single biggest waste of hard earned money I’ve ever experienced. This thing is not worth the box it came in. It’s the worst household appliance I’ve ever owned. Since my purchase I’ve read countless reviews saying the exact same thing. It’s not at all unusual to spend between 12 and 36 hrs to actually get a load of clothes washed after continuous malfunctions. We are literally hauling it to the landfill. This machine would be an insult to give to someone else. I will most definitely not ever purchase another LG product. BE WARNED... Do your research and check reviews before wasting your money on any type of LG washing machine. This product doesn’t even deserve 1 star. Customer service is non-existent so don’t waste your time trying to get help, they could literally care less about any problems you might be having.

My fridge stopped cooling the night before Thanksgiving. It is still running and the light come on...but not cooling...food lost! I called our Home warranty. Technician to come out, he was there within 3 hours because they consider problems with a refrigerator and emergency. He said it is a compressor leak and there is no Freon left in the appliance. Due to this, he cannot fix so I needed to call LG because it should be under warranty.I called LG first thing in the morning on Friday after Thanksgiving, and they said that they would notify a repair tech to call us and schedule a time to fix the appliance if it was fixable. Monday still no word from them. I called LG back and they said none of the repair shops around me had accepted the order so they would move me to to an escalation group to get scheduled who would call me in 3-5 days...still I have no fridge. I did now get an email saying that they scheduled a consultation with a technician for next Friday...this is where they will come and see what is wrong with my fridge so they can order parts. I explained to them after waiting on hold for 25 minutes...I have notes from a technician that you can use to fix my fridge when they come. They will not do that. Once they order parts, those will take a week or longer to get to my house, then you have to reschedule the tech... This is ridiculous! I am going to be out a refrigerator for a MONTH! And this is an appliance I spent $2200 only 2.75 years ago. The customer service was no help and frankly not that empathetic to the fact that we are a large family and had no fridge over Thanksgiving, let alone now. Very disappointed! This is unacceptable!

My door in door refrigerator ice maker makes very little ice since day 1 and stopped working 2 weeks ago and then noticed my food in freezer was thawing out. Had to trash some of it. I called LG since it is only 5 months old. Got the runaround like they did not want to come out. Technician comes out today and says compressor is bad and tells me it will be another 3 or 4 days before he can return to replace part. So I spend $1500 on a fridge and 5 months later they cannot immediately fix it!!! I should be able to claim lemon on this and now I find out LG and Samsung are not good refrigerators to buy.

I bought an LG refrigerator in Sept 2016, it failed April 2019. I have been without a working refrigerator for over 4 months. They have attempted to replace the compressor 3 times, 2 of these times they also replaced the motherboard, each time its failed. LG told me that they would attempt to repair 3 times before a replacement would be issued. On the day of the 3rd failed attempt I called and was told that they were submitting the approval for a replacement. After not hearing back I called and Im now being told that each of those repairs fell into the same type of repair and that they will be sending a technician to try something different. Not until today was I offered a $150 credit towards a mini- refrigerator. Im being given quite the run-around, a different story each time I call it seems and Im at the end of my rope. How much time am I supposed to take off work to meet repair men, will they attempt this new type of repair 3 more times, then will they try something new? How long will this go on - a year? A refrigerator should last longer than 2.5 years, PERIOD. They are aware they are selling defective refrigerators. There are class action lawsuits about these compressors. Enough is enough. Send me a new unit or give me my money back.

We purchased an entire kitchen of LG appliances in July 2010. Double oven, dishwasher, cooktop and fridge all have needed repairs within the first year. The LF25976 fridge has multiple issues, but the most pervasive is the ice maker not working. I usually research major purchases thoroughly, but I let my wife choose. These are the most unreliable appliances on the market. I will never by LG again. I have made a point to inform as many of our relatives and friends of our experience as possible.

I dont understand how your company can call it fixed. I am very disappointed with your company and unless I get resolution to this problem, I will be going to the Attorney General in NYS. I plan also to spread the word regarding the lack of customer satisfaction I received from your company. This is awful to do to customers who made good money for a product. Our LG fridge compressor went out after 3 years, so no cooling/freezing at all. Called LG support and it’s under warranty. They gave 10 repair places that they would pay for the repair. Of the 10, only 2 even serviced my Chicagoland area (not a rural area with very few companies). Of the 2 that did, the earlier either could come out was in a month. So I panicked and called a local spot that could. Over $700. LG will not honor my warranty because I used someone outside of who they approved even though everyone they approved couldn’t come and fix it within a months time. There is a class action lawsuit going on against LG for this exact reason. I’ll never purchase LG again.

They came to repaired 4 days after because the technician was nice enough to move my appt earlier, they told me that they could gave me food compensation. I called them after the fridge was repaired and first the way that the customer service handle this cases are terrible, LG subcontract this phone calls to another country I would say INDIA and is very hard to understand them, then they start this process with text messages with questions and I just got one text, I never got the following question. I called them several times and the last time I called the customer service helped me, she never advised that she was going to send this claim manually. She told me that somebody would contact me to see if I was agree with the food compensation, next thing I know I received $100 check in the mail for a whole fridge food loss, I called them and I spoke with the supervisor Ann, she was very rude and reiterated times told me that my warranty expired and LG was nice enough to repair my fridge and they don’t do food losses that they sent me $100 dollar check because they were nice, she told me that there is nothing I can do because the check was issued. They never told me that if an agent do this manually automatically they issued $100 and don’t review my case just send $100. Be aware. Never submit your food loss claim manually. They will send you $100 check. They kept telling me that LG don’t send food losses claim. That if they sent me money is because they were nice and because I have my fridge bad for 5 days $100 was enough. I lost a full fridge and what it hurts me the most I lost 100 bags of breastmilk for my baby because of this. I can’t believe they got to decide how much they can give and they don’t live even in U.S. They told me that there is nothing I can do and LG won’t send more. After being ignored for several days, we sent the receipt and pictures of their product that was falling apart. I called and they said they are unable to provide us with a replacement door. Really? Is this is how they take care of their customers? They dont even provide you with options! We were not asking for a new microwave since it is out of the one year warranty. LG customer service is terrible. Obviously, we are not the only ones complaining about the door issue. I see other customers’ frustrations as well. Way to go LG. They should change their motto; instead of “life is good”, it should be “life is no good” (because we do not take care of our customers). The whole microwave function isnt working. Wednesday 25th of May my refrigerator stopped working. Both refrigerator and freezer part. I called the 800 number on owners manual that came with the refrigerator and was told I had to either pay over $200 or $399 for 1 year extra insurance because they could not find my registration card and could not tell me when I bought it. So I paid the $399 thinking someone would come out and look at the fridge. I was informed that no one could come until the following Wednesday because it was a holiday weekend. The repairman came on Tuesday and informed my husband that the freon system was not properly cleaned before installation causing the freon to leak or evaporate from the system, causing the entire coolant system to malfunction. According the repairman this was done during the assembly process. He had to order a part and would take a few days to get. We waited a week and had to call LG back to get the repairmans number and find out what was taking so long. We were informed that the part is on back order and will not be available until after the 15th of June. At no time did the repairman call and inform us of this development. I have two small children in my home and cannot keep fresh foods available for them. I will not recommend an LG appliance to anyone. The customer service sucks and the phone center could give a damn. They could not tell me when we purchased the refrigerator but when my husband called they told him it was purchased in December 2014. This will be 18+/- days without a refrigerator and the weather so far has been in the high 80s.

I have setup a website lgwarn.com to further document our experience and provide photos and LGs denial letter. We purchased an LG Front loading washing machine that opened up during a wash cycle and LG is refusing to cover any of the damages to our home. This is particularly egregious because LG is aware that if their front loading machines over fill with water that the door will pop open. LG is knowingly selling front loading washers that will open if, for whatever reason, they get too full of water.MODEL NAME: WM2650HRA SERIAL NUMBER: 306PNAJ6G432. PURCHASE DATE: 4/20/2014 Retail price $1,099.00. It worked perfectly until 5/10/2014 when during a sanitation wash cycle the front door opened and poured water out causing over $3000 (supported by estimates from licensed contractors) of damage to our living space by ruining wall to wall carpet and some of the sub floor. On 5/10/14 LG service representative admitted that too much water would open the door. On 5/19/14 ** also stated that too much water would cause the door to open. This proves that LG was well aware of this feature of their front loading washing machines.5-20-2014 LG Call ** Representative Katie refused to provide smart diagnosis report from 5/10 incident and refused to provide her last name but transferred me to a supervisor. 5-20-2014 Adrian ID** seemed surprised that two people at LG had admitted the defect regarding the door opening. My 3 year old LG side by side refrigerator went out on the eve of Thanksgiving (11-27-19). We promptly called LG customer service and was told to wait 4-6 hours for the freezer to freeze again and was told to call back in the am to run the smart IQ diagnostics. Freezer and fridge both out. Most likely the compressor like everyone else. Called 11-29-19 and was given a service repair date of 12-5-2019. I thought that seemed a long time to wait but figured I’d survive. Mind you, we have a household of 9 (7 kids). The day of the 5th I started getting text from repair company saying I was changed to the 13th. Called LG for an earlier appointment and the long run around saga began with countless calls and continues with the same song and dance as everyone else on here. Two weeks without a working fridge and counting....

About 3 years ago I purchased an LG dishwasher Model LDP6797ST. I was very happy with it at first until about 1 year and a couple of months. One day a received the error message AE. At the time I did not know what it stand for. I contacted LG and to their credit they sent a technician to repair the unit. What he did that day is replaced a circuit board at the door and the machine was working. And now 2 years later after the repair I received the same AE error message. The thing is that error message according to LG is a water leak. I called a repairman who confirm I have a leak coming from the drain pump. It would cost about $600 to fix. In his word I better off buying a new dishwasher. I paid good money for that dishwasher (about $700) and it only last 3 yrs. I am not sure I will ever buy an LG appliance again. We purchased this LG TOP OF THE LINE 700.00 DISHWASHER IN 2015. I HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS SINCE. When we purchased it. It was for a brand new home. We had to have a plumber come in and replace some of the pipes and lines to be able to accommodate this dishwasher. The dishwasher never gets the dishes clean EVER! Im constantly having to clean the dishwasher so the dishes get clean. I almost have to clean the dishes before they are stacked. The top sprayer arm keeps falling off during its normal cycle. The baskets never stay connected to each other. Not sure why... We decided to buy a really expensive nice dishwasher and it has been terrible. Then we had to remove the bottom piece in the dishwasher that siphons any debris out before it goes into the drain. The recommended tablets for the dishwasher get stuck in the cup and ends up having to be cleaned out of the cup and I have to re run the whole cycle again. And to top it off now the motor is dead and has to be replaced. Oh the wheels on the bottom of the rack keep falling off. Technician will be here next week when they can fit us in 100.00 just for the service call. I will never buy an LG ever again.

Spacious, lots of storage, keeps food very cold, french doors, working icemaker, alerts you when you leave the fridge door open. All in all it has definitely has the qualities I want I just dont want to replace it with so much money again. LG has definitely met my initial expectations. It is a very good fridge overall and has all the qualities you need in a fridge but it needs to be made more durable and easier to fix when things break. Cause my ice machine doesnt work. I would have made it easier to clean, more user friendly, make it less loud when it beeps when you leave the door open. Also, the handle to the freezer broke, so I would made that more durable.

Purchased new microwave (plus suite of electronics) made by LG (Model LMV1683ST) at HH Gregg. Did not do extended warranty. Purchased Jan 2014 and died June 6, 2015. Will not heat nor will turntable turn. Called LG and went thru diagnostics, which I had already performed. I asked them about write ups online about this model number that indicated a design flaw that causes this issue. They declined to answer. If I were in Australia we would have had a two year warranty, but not in the US. They provided a list of places I could call for service but none of them provided it in our area. And lastly on our chat they did say it was a good thing I kept our 20 year old back up that still works great (not an LG). They dont even offer any type of trade in for something that is 18 months old to try to entice us to purchase another LG replacement. So I am sorry that I had to provide even one star as a rating. HH Gregg will not offer any incentive but they did hook us up with a repair center that will cost us $99 to come out as a minimum.

I bought an LG large capacity washer and dryer 6 years ago. I paid over $1600 for the pair at Home Depot. There are only 3 in my family so I dont have a lot of laundry like some larger families do. Just recently, my washer had a smell like something was on fire and making a banging noise. I called the LG repair service and a rep came out to take a look. He told me that the bearings were wearing out on the tub and to fix it, they would have to change the whole tub for about $450. Seriously! They just dont make products like they used to. I will never buy an LG product again.

To anyone seeking advice on an LG dishwasher, take heed to all of the complaints listed. I have experienced most of the complaints listed from the machine not rinsing, not drying, not cleaning. The worst appliance I have ever had in 40 years. I have not tried other LG products and Im not compelled to do so. However, Do not!!!!! Do not purchase this product line in a Dishwasher because you will be disappointed to no end. Im not going to fight it. Its not worth my time but I will never deal with this company again. I may have lost 350 dollars over the last 3 years but they lost my business and not just mine because Im spreading the word.

I was happy with the young man that repaired our refrigerator. He was professional and completed his work within a timely manner. I was disappointed in LG for not trusting me, I told the lady the compressor was not running. The fan and lights were working, just not the compressor. The temperature in the refrigerator was 65 degrees plus. I also told her I had heard the compressor running loud a few days before and now nothing. If the lady at LG had trusted me, the part could have been ordered and here or with repairman when he arrived here the first time and I could have my refrigerator repaired and running a week earlier. I am all not happy that repairs had to be done within the first few years of owning it. I understand that this is a regular occurrence on refrigerators now. Disappointed in the integration of the companies putting in place planned obsolescence. I have a 25 year old refrigerator that is still running and has never had repairs done to it. The big profits for the companies, is not good for the consumers or the landfills. I am thankful for the warranty that did cover the parts and the lady at LG for covering the labor repairs. I am just sorry that I have to be without my refrigerator for a extended period of time.

I had the identical problem to someone else on here. We bought the LG French Door Refrigerator from Home Depot and the little hinge on the top of the door broke off and the door was constantly staying open. We just lived with it because we had previously had a problem with a new LG washing machine and nobody in the area would service it! I was told by a serviceman that LG didnt pay them for warranty work and although I dont know if that is true or not. I do know that I couldnt find a serviceman to fix the washing machine, which we eventually disposed of, even though it was less than a year old. Anyway, we moved from that house and happily left the beautiful LG refrigerator with the broken door hinge and lo and behold, the new house that we bought, had the same refrigerator and shortly after moving, the hinge on one door broke on that one too. LG definitely seems to have a quality problem with their appliances and I wouldnt buy one again.

Model # wm2688HWM: We bought this washer from HH Gregg 5 years ago. The extended warranty was for 5 years. The door on the front of the machine is broken or is not sealed right, 4 different times in the last 5 years. Now, it is doing it again, both leaking water and not sealing. Now, there is no warranty. I purchased an LG washer and dryer at Sears in Overland Park, KS. I have had service out twice complaining about dirty, dingy clothes and a loud banging sound when the washer is filling with water. Both times, I was told to use a high efficiency detergent and 1-2 tablespoons of detergent. I have complied. My clothes are still dirty and dingy. We have taken to soaking the whites in the sink in a Clorox solution to bring them back. I feel as though I might as well get a washboard out and do the laundry by hand.I replaced my upright washer, which was doing a fine job, so that I could have a quiet washer. The noise is louder and the clothes are embarrassingly dirty to the point where I cannot wear them.Nothing has changed in our laundry, same clothes, same people and same amount of wear. We do not perform any manual labor that would create unusually dirty clothes. My husband uses his washables to lie on the couch and watch television. I am a homemaker who hires out all of the dirty work. We both do workout, regularly. In theory, we are a washing machines dream customers.I hired a plumber to deal with the loud bang in the pipes and he told me it was the solenoid. Today, the solenoids were replaced and there is no change in the loud banging in the pipes. If anyone in the house is asleep, the washer cannot be operated because of the very loud bangs.

We bought this LG WM3670MWA washer and paired dryer at Nebraska Furniture Mart in in June 30,2018. The Silk screened Cycle Name lettering is now dissolving and even rubbing off the washer. LG says its COSMETIC damage because something other than warm water and a damp cloth was used to clean the washer. We use Shout as a pre-wash and have for the last 15+ years. Our 13 year old Samsung front loaders never had any issues with lettering rub off. I sprayed Shout on a 9 year old silk screened plastic cup and let it sit for a week, adding Shout each day, and its still perfect. Never buy another LG Product. NFMs $270.00 extra warranty was worthless for this as they say if LG says its cosmetic, theres no reason to even come look at it. They only cover mechanical breakdown. Not happy with performance either. Also, Turbo-Wash times are reasonable but will only take 3 items (?).

Updated on 01/20/2020: I had hoped to update my review to at least Satisfactory, but NO. An LG repair man was here this morning, the refrigerator is seemingly fixed - but we will see. The problem is that when my husband talked to LG last week they said the cost of parts would be NO Charge. Then the guy gets here today and says only the compressor is covered - but in order to replace the compressor he has to literally break another part which WE have to PAY FOR! How is that even a thing? I am floored by this shoddy engineering. So, it costed us $360 to repair a part covered under warranty. To top it off the man was so rude to me, kept leaving the front door wide open, including the screen door which HE locked open, and we have a dog. I kept closing the door behind him - take a hint. Then, he moves the refrigerator back (almost to where it belonged) and created 2 long black marks across 3 of our floor tiles. He intended to leave without even addressing that. I grabbed a rag and tried to clean it up and it would not come clean. He said Give me that! (just like that) and tried to wipe it up himself, to no avail. He then grabbed something out of his little bag and started scraping the floor. The marks started to fade a little. He then stands up, says Here and hands me a small piece of sand paper. Now I have to clean this up?? I could hardly believe my eyes, but by this point I just wanted him to leave my house. I have never experience such poor customer service. This is day 9 without a fridge, taking up space in neighbors freezer, buying ice to keep everyday items cold! My initial thought still stands, no more LG for me.Original review: While other manufacturers allow major appliance warranties to be transferred, as when you buy a house, LG does NOT. So, the new owner a $3,000 refrigerator that fails is completely out of luck. Sad, I will NEVER buy another LG product, and if I ever buy another house, the brand of appliances will be a factor in decision. Shame on LG!

I bought a French Door refrigerator in June of 2016. It completely stopped cooling in August of 2018. Called LG who sent me through some basic troubleshooting and gave me phone numbers to technicians that arent helpful. One sound sketchy (answers the phone Hello) and insisted I make an appointment thru a non-existent website or send an email to his Gmail. One said they wont service my town. One has yet to call me back. I called a reputable but non-LG-authorized repair service who said it would cost $1,200 for a new compressor and I would have to deal with LG myself (I think to buy the compressor). Given the reviews about back ordered parts, and lack of authorized techs, Im left to wonder how long I wait for the other technician to call me back, argue in vain with LG or just buy a new refrigerator. Very open to joining a class action lawsuit. I certainly dont make enough money to replace expensive items every two years. Reading up on refrigerators, old fashioned top freezer refrigerators are a whole lot cheaper and fail less often.

I have had this washing machine 3 years now. We have two kids so we do a load a day. The machine washes satisfactorily. But then again, most washing machines do. What I would like to caution you against are the high cost of spare parts you WILL NEED as well as the complexity of repairing this machine. When I finally bought this machine, I had read a few reviews about how the rubber gasket inside the door started to smell badly after 6 months or so. I was so enticed by the steam part of the deal that I overlooked this point. Sure enough this Tromm washer has a huge rubber gasket inside the door. This part is very hard to clean as it has a concealed ledge inside. IT WILL START SMELLING after a few months of use no matter how much you clean the tub with bleach or how many times you clean the gasket. Your clothes will smell rotten after a wash. And when they dry they smell musty. This part which costs $130 can be changed by an appliance repair service. It is very hard to do it yourself because the machine has to be opened. Total cost for replacing the gasket is $253. Next... the drain pump will break also. Give it a couple of years or so. The drain pump costs $60 to replace and with the service call that comes to another $210 total. I was amazed the work that was needed to change this pump. First of all, the pump is located in the worst possible place, and the Tromm needs to be opened in multiple places to access this pump. The job took 45 minutes to replace the pump.I am now looking into a Whirlpool clothes washer and after investigating the same parts it seems they are much cheaper and much easier to change if the machine needs to be repaired. I for one will not be buying another LG steam washer.

I want to lodge a complaint about a repair I had done last week that I dont think I should be responsible for. I purchased the DLEX3360 dryer in May 2011, along with the washer, for $1900 at home depot. I had an extended one year warranty with my Chase Freedom credit card. Within the warranty period of 2 years, my husband tried to quickly clean my sons soccer uniform on the steam cycle one day. It came out wet. I called LG (I dont remember the date, but it was the previous Fall 2012) and they told me that I didnt put enough clothing in the dryer, that it was too light. At that point, it was too late to dry the uniform so he borrowed another last minute. But based on their response, I assumed the machine was working and that I would figure out how to use the steam cycle eventually. Then, two weeks ago, I was preparing for my sons bar mitzvah party and I had 15 table clothes to iron. My aunt was helping and she thought we could put them in one at a time in the dryer since they were large. Again, they came out wet. My aunt said she has experience with steam dryers as she has a clothing business, and she said this was not normal. So I called customer service again and, as per their advice, I tried putting smaller items in (like cotton-poly shirts). The same thing happened. Everything was soaked. I told LG that when this problem happened over a year ago, LG said that I didnt put enough in the dryer. This time, the representative only said that it was after the warranty period and I was responsible. I was fuming. I had to get it fixed, so I paid the LG repair man ($228) with the understanding that I would talk to LG and get it straightened out.It took him 3 days to fix it (over 10 hours of labor). Apparently, the generator was shot. This was a major inconvenience as I had relatives staying with us for the bar mitzvah and we could not get out of the house through the mud room. I don’t see how we were responsible for blowing out the generator. It was a manufacturer’s defect. The repair man said it looked like it never worked. I do not think that I should be responsible for the repairs as LG led me to believe that the dryer was working and I didnt know how to use it, when I originally called.

Most recently, the refrigerator stopped working altogether, spoiling all of the food we had inside. We have had technicians come out a total of 6 TIMES and we still do not have a solution! Our freezer is currently not working and the ice dispenser is leaking. We have had a non-working refrigerator for over a week. I purchased a brand-new LG refrigerator on March 1, 2012 for approximately $3,000.00. On July 12, I arrived home to find the refrigerator making a very loud noise. I opened our freezer to find that all of its contents were completely defrosted and sitting in a pool of water. I contacted PC Richards where we purchased it from, and since we purchased an extended warranty with them, they sent someone to fix it for us a week later. Since all of our food had been defrosted, it had gone bad in the extreme heat. A few days before the incident, we had spent our paycheck on stocking the freezer with our meals for the next 2 weeks. We had spent about $150-200 on meats, fish, frozen fruit, frozen vegetables, ice pops, etc. We were now left with no food to eat and very little money. PC Richards informed us that the product was defective from the manufacturer because the freezer fan had failed. I contacted LG, asking to be reimbursed for the $150 (even though, it was more) in groceries that we had lost. I had purchased this machine in March. Never did I imagine in July that something would happen to it or that it would break without any of our doing at all. We spent $3000 on this machine. It is so unfair that we should lose all that money in groceries for no reason. It is unfair and bad business. LG was very rude and insisted there was nothing they could do for us. I dont see how that is possible, seeing as it was their machine. They are a multi-million dollar company, and they put a defective unit on the market. It is only right I be reimbursed for what I lost.

Consumers beware when purchasing an LG appliance! If you are remotely mechanically inclined and prefer to save money and repair things yourself, LG is not the manufacturer for you. A little over a year ago LG decided that they will not sell replacement parts to the general public forcing you to call an authorized service center to come to your house at your expense to repair your appliance no matter how small or simple a fix.Recently I needed to replace an $8 tumbler roller on our LG Tromm dryer that had worn and was making noise. It is about a 30 minute fix and requires a screwdriver and two wrenches. LG Canada nor any of its authorized service centers would sell me the part even though I had already removed it and was ready to install a new one. The parts are sold in the USA but every company that sells the part will not ship to Canada. My only options are to either bend to these unfair practices by LG or junk the dryer and buy a new one - albeit a different brand!

I wish I could give a negative rating! We have been working with LG customer service since October (over 2 months now). We are extremely disappointed and feel like we have been led on like they would possibly stand behind their product. I can hardly believe we have went this long without a full size fridge and freezer. If LG customer service would have just told us over two months ago that they would not stand behind a less than 3 year old fridge we could have thrown it in a landfill and went and bought another brand. Not only do we NOT need to spend so much money every couple of years on a major appliance, but we really don’t need to fill up our landfills with these things. LG, if you cannot make a large major appliance last longer than 2 years, PLEASE STOP MAKING THEM! Do it not only for customers like me, but for the WORLD!

My refrigerator is 6 years old. The ice maker needed to be replaced when it was six months old then the ice maker does not adequately produce enough ice. The door spring just broke two months ago. The drawer is broken. The plastic on the shelves have fallen off and the ice maker lever fell off a year ago. It is not a quality refrigerator for the price of $2200.00 made by LG. It never cleaned the dishes very well and I tried to talk to customer service at LG and not only were they rude, the woman in customer service was threatening and nasty to me on the phone. We live in Westchester County in NY. I spent $3,000 on a counter-depth french door with linear compressor, the model number was LFXC24726S. Well, it only lasted two and half years, then suddenly one day it stopped cooling. Contacted LG directly and they told me to call a local authorized repair shop for a checkup. It took days for the local shop to answer my phone call and then another few days for a appointment. The technician told me the linear compressor was gone and needed to be replaced. Also the circuit board was faulty, it resulted in lower voltage than normal. Although the compressor was covered under the warranty, its value was only $360. It is the labor to replace it my friend that is expensive, about $1100. Even if I had it fixed, its not guaranteed to last another year. So I just decided to buy a new one. This time its not going to be LG.

I bought the LG set about 11 months ago. For the first month it operated like a dream. Then it started leaving residue on my dark clothes...looks like streaks of lint or undissolved detergent. I have changed detergents, added less or more, used large loads and small ones, and nothing helps. I have to wash the load a second and sometimes third time without detergent to get it clean. Another problem is that if I wash anything with my darks that is even slightly lighter than black or brown, the dark dye is transferred to the clothes and ruins them. I have done the same thing for years with other machines without problems, but this one for some reason causes the dyes to transfer. I think both problems are caused by too little water being used. Have finally lost patience and will start the never ending cycle of service calls, I guess. I dont recommend this product. It does NOT save water.

Purchased stove, dishwasher, microwave, refrigerator on May 07 2017. On 8/16/2020 our refrigerator stop working. Check the owner manual to see if there something we can but nothing, call LG customer service and was told that they need 48 hour for the repair to be approved, call this morning and was told that they have available 08/25/2020. This is unacceptable due to the fact that is almost brand new, we lost most of the food and by the way our dishwasher is not working either. Call two months ago and we was told that we need to pay for the repair, when I was told the the motor has ten years warranty and the error code that is giving is the motor.

Bought a LG top load washer in 2013 and I hate it. Its a constant battle with the machine flashing messages and being unbalanced and constantly refilling with water and not wanting to spin. Totally wastes tons of water which we have to pay for living with a cistern and ironically I bought it because it was supposed to use less water, what a joke. I have never had to stand and watch a washing machine until I bought this evil machine. Oh why do I have to watch it so it doesnt waste all our water when it starts flashing the unbalanced code so then I have to stop it and try to move the wet clothes around so the stupid thing will continue on. I wouldnt wish this machine on anyone even if they were my enemy, its horrible. Im going back to a top loading Kenmore with a normal agitator that actually cleans the clothes. The only positive is that I bought the LG dryer at the same time and Ive actually had no problems with that.

We purchased our French Door Refrigerator in Nov. of 2011 from Home Depot for over $2500. We had not problem with the unit until May of 2014 when the it stopped working. Calls to LG resulted in a service call but we did have to wait for several days for service which of course means you have to find a place for all your food so you dont lose it. Ok - repair guy came out and replaced the fan assembly behind the freezer stating that it needed a stronger fan to keep it from freezing up. OK - unit was noisier than before but it did work. Until May of this year when the same thing happened again! Same repair guy - same fix. After he left it did start making a louder noise so we called him back. When he came back he said that is just the normal noise the new fan makes and rather rudely left! This week the unit quit working again!About six weeks later the last call - we unplugged it and plugged it back in but still had to move all the food again since it was thawing out. Had to wait 24 hours for the repair guy to come once again and apparently unplugging it caused it to reboot because it did start cooling again. ** the repair guy walked in, pointed his infrared thermometer and said Well - it is working, there is nothing wrong with it and refused to do anything else - accused of yelling at him - which we werent and stomped out of our house! Subsequent calls to customer service were not very helpful. They all give you the same responses like they are reading it off of cue cards - all denying culpability and trying to put it on us instead of admitting that their product is faulty! And this model has had a class action lawsuit against so we know there is a problem! My advice - do not buy an LG product. They are not the quality you pay for and if you have a problem, you will not get any help from them at all. Their consumer service department treats you without respect and without true concern for taking care of the problem.

It can honestly take all day to wash a load of clothes unless I stand there to make sure that it does not stop to run more water in to rebalance the load and trust me I do everything I can to make sure that it is balanced. I would love to be able to throw it out the door.

Our LG Dryer (DLG7188WM) drum was cracked and making a thumping sound. The dryer was purchased in 2007 and has been a workhorse. I googled LG Dryer Broken Drum and discovered that this is a known problem and that the dryer was under potential recall. I telephoned the initial authorized installer and was pleased to learn that the drum would be replaced at no charge and that labor would also be covered.RESULT- The drum is on order and will arrive at the service center at the end of the week and I should have it replaced by early next week. I have always received great service from D.G. Appliance Service and Repair in Chatsworth, CA. and support from LG. I do have all my original receipts, but in this case it seemed not to matter. After returning home from a 4 day trip my wife and I noticed that our frozen food was thawing out on our freezer. I checked our temperature settings to make sure that they were correct and watched to see if maybe our freezer was going through a defrost cycle. It wasn’t and the next day we had to remove our food to another refrigerator that we have so the food didn’t spoil. I contacted LG support and set up an appointment for service which was several days later. The technician came out and diagnosed a bad compressor and coils which he replaced. It took a couple of days before the ice maker even started to make ice again and thought that was strange but everything in the freezer froze so we thought we were good. After about 3 weeks we noticed that everything was thawing again and I contacted the technician directly and told him what was happening. He came out again and checked my unit and found a pinhole that caused the Freon to leak out. He repaired it and all was well until about a week ago we noticed that our ice cream was turning into milkshakes so I called the technician again and he came out and checked our refrigerator and told my wife that there was nothing wrong with it according to what his computer readouts said. By the next morning the frozen food in the freezer was thawed out and we had a large puddle of water on the floor from the upper ice maker thawing out and the water from the ice running all over the floor. I sent the technician a text and he told me that there was nothing he could do and that I needed to call customer support and file for a new repair order because he said he couldn’t figure out what was wrong. I sent him the pics I have attached and he said that ambient air temps won’t give correct readings to which I responded that the temp readings were off the walls of the refrigerator and freezer compartments. No response back on that comment.I have a different LG technician scheduled to come out tomorrow to evaluate our situation and hopefully he can fix it or get us replacement refrigerator because this one apparently defective. By the way, the refrigerator that we have had to move our food into is a GE Profile that we have had for over 15 years and have never had an issue with.

Wrong! On top of the musty odors, I swear I am gaining rather than losing stains on my clothing. These look like grease stains. Certain materials seem more prone, such as cottons, especially softer cottons. LG suggests all this ** about cleaning the door seal, door, and tub at minimum daily. What a load of **! What, the consumer has to fix LGs bad design problems? And this thing cost more than a thousand. My 50-dollar secondhand washer never had these problems and got things clean. Save your money and you mind and buy yourself a good ol’ cheap top loader. Going forward, I will hand fill (over fill) the tub with super-hot water and pout in a couple cups of bleach and let it wash for a few minutes before letting it sit for a few hours. As for the laundry, I will see about over filling it with water to get the wash actually clean.

We have owned many different name brand refrigerators during our 40 years of marriage and I can confidently state that LG Refrigerators are the worst weve ever owned. LG technicians cannot fix the constant sweating from the ice-maker that appears on the door and where the water and ice are dispensed. There is a known product defect in the ice maker that LG refuses to warranty so you need to purchase a replacement part with an LG Service Call for approximately $300 each time it blows out. LG claims that their appliances are built to last, but that is definitely not true for this gas stove. After only a few years of gentle use, it is falling apart. All the knobs are cracked, loose and need to be replaced, the centre grill cracked and broke, the LED display is starting to act up, the convection oven fan is pretty much useless. Gas valves are also really touchy and can be accidentally activated by accidentally bumping them. Parts are super expensive! LG wants almost $80 per knob to replace (there are five of them) and $240 for the grill assembly -- $640 + tax just for these parts! There are no electronics or moving components to knobs and grills -- they should last forever -- but they dont. Lots of complaints on the internet about LG stove knobs. Replacement knobs look like the same junk as the originals. No improvements. I called LG customer service to ask what they mean by built to last, but nobody could really say. My family and I are really disappointed that LG makes false claims about reliability and then charges outrageous prices for parts. Appliances should be repairable - at affordable prices - not disposable. We will be getting rid of this unreliable piece of junk and buying a stove from a reputable company. Please consider other manufacturers that are committed to reliability, service and environmental responsibility. LG does not deserve our business.

Buyer beware! Rust develops in the top housing of LG washers, starting at the bleach dispenser. It does not matter if you use the dispenser or not, rust will eventually develop there, and elsewhere, on the top and lid of the machine. Eventually rust flakes will get in your wash leaving whites dingy. There is no fix for this problem. It is a result of poor craftsmanship. A class action lawsuit was filed and LG won claiming user problem. Odd how the regular use of their product would be a problem that causes rust. Do not take my word for it alone- search “LG washer rust” and read about loads of frustrated consumers with rust problems starting in the bleach dispenser area, in some cases rusting out altogether. We purchased an expensive LG French Door Refrigerator LFXS30766S/02 October 31, 2015. Two weeks and a half weeks ago (at not even three years old), the ice in the door melted all over the floor. Then, the whole thing died. I called LG and was told that someone would call back in 3-5 business days to schedule an appointment. No one called. A few days later, two huge boxes from FedEx randomly showed up. They sent a compressor and two other parts without even looking at it. Still no call. After reading an overwhelming amount of complaints/reviews and finding out that no one around here is willing to work on LG, we decided to just purchase a new refrigerator. We had lost at least $500.00 worth of food and not taking any chances. Who knows how long we would have had to wait. At 12 days in, LG called to see if anyone had called. I had told them no. 14 days in, another person called to ask the same question. I cant believe they havent been held accountable for this issue. Thankfully, we had our new refrigerator delivered this morning and had the LG piece of junk hauled away. We will never purchase ANY LG product again.

Our refrigerator (model LFXC24726S) was bought at Best Buy Pacific Sales in 2/15. First there was a recall issue in the flat drawer and it kept freezing. It was fixed at no charge. Two weeks ago I went to get ice and all I got was water. My entire freezer was defrosted and the fridge part was getting increasingly warm. After calling the Geek Squad for repair and finding out that my extended warranty was applied to a Samsung fridge I had returned (did not fit properly in my kitchen) and never credited or transferred to the LG. So no warranty, even though it was not our fault. Now nearly 2 weeks later, I find out that the problem is a Freon leak and they cannot fix it. When the Geek Squad came to see about the reason for the failure of this very expensive fridge, he stated that he had 3 LGs have the same thing in the last few weeks. He noted that all the fridges were ALL approximately the same age (3 years or less). After going to corporate since I had gotten nowhere with anyone else at Best Buy, they are finally replacing it. Im hoping this wont happen again in the near future. Fridges are supposed to last more than 3 years.

Overall I was very satisfied with all of this for the most part and since our old fridge was very small it made life a bit easier. I would improve a tad more space though, and more shelving available for use or drawers. I feel I would have liked it even more if there had been more space or Storage available for the items needing to be in the fridge since we do buy large amounts of groceries at a time. The noise is non-stop and continues even when the fridge door is open. I called LG and they said that the compressor was defective as they are designed to shut off when the door was open. However, they said that the warranty is only for a year after original purchase (even though its been installed less than a year), and I would need to contact a repairman to have them come fix it, and they would not cover the cost of the repairman. I am now getting quotes to fix it for a few hundred dollars, which at that point I should just get a new fridge despite my fridge being used only 6 months. I will never again buy an LG product.

From the very first day I bought it we have had ice build up in the top drawer of the freezer. I called for about 2 or 3 weeks to the store I bought it from. I was told it was the humidity and not to worry. I kept calling back and finally they gave me the number of a repair man. He came a number of times and did what the LG people told him to. Every time he came he replaced another part. Nothing has worked yet. They said as long as the rest is working its just an inconvenience. My thought is for 3000.00 I shouldnt have to have an inconvenience. I have since given up getting anything done. I have the same kind of fridge (different brand) out in the garage and it is in humidity and have never had any problem with it or any other fridge I have owned. Will never buy that brand again. I have owned it for a little over a year now and I have never had one day without ice on my food and drawer.

Bought LG W/D set from Lowes, topload washer not frontload. 33 days after installation dryer started knocking while drying (loud). Called LG CS, took 5 days for repairman to call and set up appt. Rollers were bad so installed new ones, 2 days later loud knocking was back so installed new motor, 3 days later and louder than before. Repairman came out and replaced all rollers again. So far all is good but the process took over 2 months to resolve. Lowes was NO help at all. Now the washer... it smells like rotten eggs after a couple of washes, we need to run tub clean every 2-3 days to keep smell away.1500.00 and we have a washer that has all the fancy bells and whistles but cant do a basic wash load without special care. Even following all the instructions for keeping lid open and not leaving clothes in washer nothing changes the smell after a couple of days. LG CS is terrible, Lowes CS is terrible. LG products are a nightmare, never again. Bought 3 yr extended warranty and they were just words and excuses. Seems this is a design flaw that should have been fixed but I guess the consumer will just deal with the bad product design.

I have owned LG dishwasher and front loading washing machine for approximately 4 years. We have had two issues which require service. Upon calling the LG service number, we were given a list of certified repair services. All of the certified service technicians are over an hour away and refuse to travel this far. This is laughable given that we live in the Metropolitan NY area - only three services centers to service 10 million people? Really? The individual who answered my call at LG was arrogant and uncaring and had no idea New York City was that big - wow. Finally, I got an independent service tech who was lovely and said LG is the absolute worst company to work with for parts replacement. I will never ever buy an LG appliance again.
