My refrigerator (LG GC-P197DPSL) is bubbling under the silver where the water drips down from the water and ice maker. I read all over the internet it is a common problem but LG has denied the case. I have an extended warranty but they wont honor it saying it is LGs problem.

I had an LG washer for about three and half years. The washer stopped spinning. I called LG for the 10-year warranty and was told that a technician would come out and check the washer. I was told it would be around $100 to diagnose the problem. I told LG that the motor was slipping, it should be covered under their 10-year warranty. They said I would still have to pay a technician to come out to tell me what I already knew. I argued with them many times about the problem. I even asked them to send someone out for a courtesy call; they would not . They finally gave me the number for Parts. They found the part for the motor rotor assembly. They opened the back of the washer, undid the mounting bolt, removed the rotor, and sure enough, the rotor assembly gear was made of cheap plastic. It was strange because the new one with a metal center was stripped out. This not only should be covered by the warranty, but also, a defective product should be covered by the company. The whole job of replacing this part was about 15 minutes and $75 in parts. I have photos of the part being removed with its stripped center and the new one being installed.

I purchased the LG LFX31925SW/04 in May of 2013. Within a very short period of time the compressor went and it stopped cooling. The part was replaced and covered by warranty. The ice maker had problems freezing up from the very get-go. I just learned to take a spoon and open the compartment in the door to break it up. The door must not keep it cool enough to remain frozen. There are only two of us who live in this house so its not being opened and closed frequently. At about year 2 1/2 the area under directly the ice make maker started rusting and became very unsightly. My husband tried to fix it and of course you can not get a professional finish at home. I called the warranty dept. of LG and they informed me it was not covered under warranty because its considered cosmetic! I would not agree, given that the poor design it what is causing this issue. The metal obviously on the front of the fridge is not rust resistant. It now looks like it came from the local thrift shop. We live in an air-conditioned home with low humidity. UGH! The refrigerator door on the right side is now not closing and it must be another design flaw because it is mentioned repeatedly online as an issue. The cost of the French door refrigerator was $2400. And that was 5 years ago. I bought the microwave and the dishwasher at the same time. They have functioned ok, but I would never buy LG again given my experience with the product and the customer service!

I love having two ovens! The smaller pizza oven is great for most things, but having the larger oven with the convection feature is wonderful for my big family. The glass top is so much easier to keep clean than traditional burners. The self cleaning feature works wonderfully when you follow directions. After more than ten years, we are going to replace the heating elements because of uneven heating. I consider this an acceptable routine maintenance.

I have contacted customer service via the telephone and email, but have gotten nothing but excuses. Our 2-year old range is rusting, pitting and the enamel is wearing off from the grates sliding in and out. We have an extended warranty with GE, but they said our warranty doesnt cover the issues. They term this as cosmetic. We have had other stoves/ranges over the years and this has never happened. LG also states that cosmetic issues arent covered. In December of this past year, I wrote a letter and mailed it to a location in New Jersey which online had shown it as a corporate office, but never received a response. It would be appreciated if someone would acknowledge my concerns and receive some restitution. We bought five LG appliances in one week at The Home Depot and spent over $6000.00 and have no problems with the items. I hope someone could help us out!

I purchased my refrigerator in November of 2014. I began to have performance issues with the cooling fan within two weeks of operation. After a remote diagnosis I was told that the cooling fan was freezing up; when I asked about repairs I was told to just insure that all doors and draws were tightly close and to check all seals were air tight, bad advice. Between November 2014 and April 2016 the same issue continued to occur. After a series of calls and two more visits, LG would no longer return with pay; this was an ongoing issue. With no further help from LG the repairs were completed in 2017 through use of my home appliances insurance.

Updated on 07/06/2020: This is my second review about this situation because I am locked out of responding privately to the company representative because they never responded to my last question. I have been trying since June 10 to get LG to honor the warranty on our refrigerator which stopped working on that day. First, I tried to get a letter in email for my repair person allowing him to order the parts which are still under warranty. When the letter finally came two weeks later, it had the wrong address. At that time, the representative who contacted me after my first review had already said they would rather offer an amount than deal with repairs. Still, I gave him the correct address and waited. Neither the correct letter nor an offer had come a week later, so I called the warranty department as he recommended. The lady there did make an agreeable offer and said the process would begin when we got an email about the offer. She said the email should come soon and that all steps had to be completed before we would get the payment to replace our refrigerator.A week later, we have received no email so Im assuming the 5-6 week process she mentioned will not start until we get that email and who knows when we will get it. I have just spent 1:22:00 hours on hold this morning waiting to speak to someone about this. Bottom line: Do not buy an LG refrigerator if you dont want to live out of an ice chest for more than a month waiting on them to honor a warranty.Original Review: After five calls to LG where customer service representatives have told me repeatedly that an email authorization will be sent within an hour, by 5pm, in 24 hours, it has been a week and still no authorization letter has been emailed to my repair service.

I bought an LG Refrigerator on 11/28/12 from Howards Upland Store. I bought a 3 yr. extended warranty from Howards on the refrigerator. On 05/14/15 the refrigerator broke. I contacted Howards Upland, who contacted the Warranty Company, who contacted their repair company. For the last 9 weeks, my husband and I have made over 100 phone calls regarding the status of our repair to the Howards Store in Upland, the Warranty Company, the first repair company they sent, then the second repair company they sent, Howards Repair Service Company, and finally the manufacturer (LG). We have been told The parts are on the way.; The parts will be here in two days.; We are working with LG to get you the parts.; We are working with LG to get you a new refrigerator.; Parts are on back order until at least sometime in August.. THIS IS RIDICULOUS. I will never buy anything with an LG label again, nor will I buy anything from Howards TV & Appliance. None of them honor their sales, their warranty, nor their repairs.

We bought an LG refrigerator because of the size. My wife wanted to go with GE. I convinced her to go with LG. We had multiple issues with the icemaker and then finally within 2 years, the motherboard went bad. It would have cost $500 to fix. We decided to buy a GE for $800 and had not had any issues. I contacted LG saying that their product required multiple repairs and they refused to cover the work. Lastly, we wrote a letter of complaint stating that not only were we disappointed with their product and response, but we have found mounting complaints that were tarnishing their image. Their response was Sorry for your difficulty, but one bad item does not reflect on their image. It does with us. Never buy an LG product. They are garbage.

I purchased a French-door refrigerator. 8 months later, theres no ice maker. Then 1 day after, no freezer. I lost $200.00 worth of food, and no tech was available for 9 days. Finally, a repairman came and said it was too close to the wall and pulled it out and left. It was still not working, so the repairman came back 3 days later. He replaced something to check for leaks and said it should be better in 12 to 24 hours. 24 hours later, it was still not working. Then 45 days later, the repairman returned and said the compressor was no good and that he cannot replace for 5 days. In the meantime we have no refrigerator, he said that he recommended to LG that they replace the refrigerator but they refused.I will never ever buy an LG appliance. It is 4 weeks now with no refrigerator or freezer and living out of a cooler. And customer service says.So what? You have to wait for us to get the parts and service it. They are very rude people. I will never give LG another penny of my hard-earned money. I will let you know if replacing the compressor works.

I bought an LG dryer 4 years ago and have already had it repaired twice. Only once was it under warranty. Now, my dryer was making large clunky sounds as it turned. I called the repair company that was used under the warranty and they came out to look at it. They found the drum to be cracked at the weld. I looked that up on the internet and found several other complaints for the same problem. Well, I immediately called customer service and talked with them. The gentleman I talked to said that he would email me the paperwork so that I could make a claim. Well, the email came in without a claim number which I needed to attach the pictures and original purchase receipt. Well, the email came without a claim number. I emailed them back and was told I needed to call customer service. Two days later, I get a phone call telling me that they wouldn’t cover the cost of a new drum because I already had it replaced. Mind you, this was two weeks after the initial call. Well, needless to say, they refused to reimburse me because I didn’t want to wait for them to send one of their repair people out to look at it so they could charge me another $80.00 just to look at it on top of the $50.00 already paid to another company to find the problem. For supposed to be top-of-the-line appliances, they are nothing but problems. I would not recommend buying any LG appliances whatsoever.

Thus, I have rust water draining into my laundry tub. The protection plan I bought was useless for it cover parts not cosmetics. LG could not help me, they wont stand behind their own work. Well, to be fair, the LG Rep did say that although he has no solution, he understands my disappointment. So, LG will not stand behind their product. Too bad for me...a shame. I must agree with the reviews Ive read on this site. I purchased my LG washer and dryer in June of 2016. If the fact that it takes forever to clean my laundry which doesnt come out clean, it produces a terrible smell! At the floor level there is a drain and filter which instructions advise to clean monthly. It is hard for me, at 70 yo, to get down on the floor on my belly to clean this contraption, but it must be done. Draining the nasty water from this little hose (about the size of a pencil) is more than a notion. I agree with many others that for what I paid for this machine, I should have gotten a better product. I will never purchase another appliance with the LG label. Any others have experience with this smelly filtration system???

LG French Door Refrigerator is 4 years old and developed a leak in the cooling system, the unit no longer cools, lost entire content of unit. This is the second LG we’ve owned, first unit lasted only 7 yrs. Authorized service technician quoted labor charge of between $700-$1,500. None of the local authorized service techs had anything good to say about LG. LG customer service center is not terribly helpful; called a number of times, each time got a different story, they were only able to follow the script and there was no way to escalate to a supervisor - very frustrating. Bottom line, will never buy an LG kitchen appliance again.

We had our washer for about 6 or 7 years. It did not clean clothes very well. About two month ago I started a load of laundry whenever our children went out to complete their outside chores (we live in the country). We still have 6 children at home, one is only 2 so he was in the house with me and our 17 year old. We heard a sound like a shotgun going off in the house. Our 17 year old and myself ran to see what it was, the washing machine literally blew up. Thankfully the children were out doing chores or someones could have been seriously injured or killed...our babies high chair was thrown across the room and nearly broke the window. LG has done nothing! I called them immediately after we cleaned up the mess and all the water. They said I wouldnt hear back from them in two days...never heard a word back from them. Will not be purchasing any LG products again!

In November 2014, purchased a LG Double door with a bottom freezer drawer for nearly 3000.00. Had repair company to come out to address issue with ice maker only dispensing crushed ice. New assembly was ordered and necessary repairs made. Next, I noticed in a certain angle approaching the refrigerator there appeared what looked like a dent in the door. Upon examining more closely, the problem is a imperfection in the metal which gives such an appearance. Extremely annoying. Service Tech once again dispatched and saw what I saw and said the door would be replaced for there was a imperfection in the metal giving the appearance of a dent. Yesterday he calls and says LG would not be replacing the door for this was cosmetic. They said I could buy a replacement door. What a joke! LG has lost a loyal customer as a result of such a care less concern.

Our LG dishwasher has never (since the day we had it installed) cleaned our dishes or dried them. I first noticed that after carefully rinsing all residue off my dishes, they still were dirty after running them through the normal cleaning cycle. I then washed my dishes and started using the power scrub feature every time and noticed the dishes had either food or soap reside on them and were never hot or dry after the washer stopped. I have to pre-wash everything I put into it and wipe off the soap afterward even though I use Jet-Dry. My dishes are barely warm when the 2-hour power scrub cycle is finished. I called LG support and after several questions, I realized that the customer service rep was going through a checklist in order to troubleshoot the root cause of the problem. She asked if I had cleaned the unit by the manual instructions to make sure there was no food debris clogging (YES). She asked if I used the proper detergent and if my washer actually had power to it (Yes and yes). She asked if I used the power scrub feature. She wanted to know if my dishwasher was connected to my garbage disposal? She said I had to check the line to make sure it was clear, but she told me that there was no way for me to do that other than looking at the line - REALLY? She told me that I obviously needed a technician to come out for the price of $85.00 to diagnose and probably more than $250.00 for parts and labor. She also told me that I could not talk to a technician or anyone else other than her over the phone.Weve had nothing but trouble from our LG refrigerator as well - having had to replace the water line 4 TIMES before the fridge actually stopped working and then had to pay LG for a new motherboard. I will NEVER again buy another LG appliance. Customer service is POOR at best and appliance functionality is a joke.

LG model LFX2597ST - Had 3 companies change out mother boards, ice makers, board in back of the refrigerator! Bought refrigerator in Sept 2014, a week later shelf and plastic cracked, and plastic dispenser of ice broke. Was fixed and two months later it broke again along with the ice maker slowing down in making ice. Its taken three months of constant calling, waiting parts, trying to fix and issues are getting worse. Talked to supervisor. She sent letter to main office and I just keep getting the run around. Almost a year and fridge still not fixed. I think they just dont care about the irritation of people spending hard earned money and should cover the warranty when its not even a year. I am so upset now that when I hear LG or see it, I feel I became a victim. It hurts and feel sad that a company who I used to like could do this! ALL I ASK IS WHAT NOW. I hate what the company is doing and who can help us consumers? My year is almost up! We even sent copy of receipt from Home Depot on Windward parkway in Alpharetta Ga. They never solved anything for us!

Updated on 01/08/2019: After two failures and unsuccessful repairs, Asurion sent another repair company over. The repairman walked into the house and said I know what the problem is already as he heard the compressor groaning in the kitchen. After conferring with his boss over the phone, I was informed that they no longer will do repairs on LG products because LG does not pay their invoice. So not only does Home Depot continue to sell this junk, but the repair shops that would handle the extended warranty repairs will not work on LG. A couple of weeks later, Asurion (out of the blue) called and said that a reimbursement check was being sent. Could that be due to the class action lawsuit recently filed nationwide against LG?? So we got the check, disposed of the LG, and bought a KitchenAid that sits quietly in the kitchen, keeping things cool and keeping us composed. OH, and never a word from LG through any of this business.Original Review: Two Compressors in Two Months...LG is junk: We purchased this LG from Home Depot in December of 2016. It had great features, was very attractive, and large capacity. In November, 2017 we returned home to find the kitchen flooded and the fridge was warm. We called the Home Depot warranty company and a repairman came out two days later. They didnt have local repairmen so he came from 60 miles away btw. He said it was the compressor and he said he replaces LG compressors on a regular basis. Ultimately it took him 3 weeks to obtain one due to LG being out of stock on compressors. He installed it and the warranty company gave us a food reimbursement check. Two days later, the same thing happened! Spoiled food. Flood. Repairman showed up again and repeated the slow ordering process. Home Depot sent over a small dorm fridge just in time for Thanksgiving. Now the compressor is again making noises. LG is totally unresponsive to this; they would rather the repairmen make the repairs for them, that they are too cheap to do upon manufacture.

My problem is the same as the one found over countless number of similar complaints on LG refrigerators - after a short period of ownership, the cooling area keeps shutting off with error code “ER DH”. We purchased an LG range and it was delivered on Dec. 14th. When I tried to convection/bake something at 225 degrees, it automatically went to 300 degrees. I tried putting a lower temperature in and the same thing happened, jumped right to 300 degrees. I called customer service and they told me that it needed to be serviced and set up a technician to come out on the following Tuesday. When the technicians came out (who were very unprofessional and unskilled), They replaced the main electronics panel. The oven still did the same thing. They called technical support at LG and the technician did not know why it did not fix the problem. He went to LGs test kitchen and found that all ovens of this model only convect at 300 degrees or higher. After speaking to a manager, LG informed me that there is nothing they can do and couldnt tell me if they have any oven brands that convection/bake below 300 degrees. The manager actually hung up on me and did not transfer me to anyone who could give me this information. My question is..... has anyone had this problem with LG ovens. Do other brands convection/bake below 300 degrees? We had a Hamilton beach countertop convection oven that would cook at lower temperatures. Is this just a feature on full size ranges?

I dont like the odor coming from the washer when you have the door closed too long, so I always leave it open when not in use. I look for capacity, energy efficiency, discounts, brand, quality. We bought an LG Refrigerator back in 2013 and had problems with it closing properly, since day one. Over time my produce would not stay as fresh, so about a month ago we had it professionally moved to our garage for a backup fridge (to keep drinks cold). Due to it being a much warmer setting it caused my unit to have to work in overdrive to keep it cool. In return causing it to overheat and it stopped cooling the fridge and freezer causing everything in the freezer to spoil. I paid $90 for a technician to come out and he diagnosed it with a bad sealed system (which let me had that the sealed system was a terrible concept). LG said they will warranty the part but I am responsible for the $1,000 labor :( I will never again purchase an LG product for the reason. Poorly made and do not back up their poorly made products!!!

Had been noticing small (and some large too) particles on my clothes. Blamed it on everything else except the washing machine. Read book and was instructed to clean tub with bleach or a tub clean. Cleaned it and the large particles became small particles. In the beginning I rewashed everything which didnt help. So now I have to shake the clothes outside, rinse and spin again, put in dryer and shake clothes outside or pick or roll off the particles. Have to be very careful when clothing is wet because the particle will smear and leave a mark on the clothes. Does not clean the clothes as well either. I called company and was given foreign representative who read from a script saying to set the washer on a certain number she gave me and put phone near the machine. She said it is okay and had no error codes. Spoke to another person who said to have someone come in to check it. When reading the website about this machine, it has the identical problem with many other consumers. One person described the problem as having a can of Pepsi explode in machine. Many have had techs come to fix with no such help to the problem, just a large bill to pay. This is sad. I have a top loader bought in 2015. The front loaders appear to also have a smell which I seemed to combat with the bleach and leaving the top open. It is indescribable and I do intend to write to the State Attorney General as this does not seem to be something that should happen with a brand new machine and the company takes no responsibility for the problem. Too many consumers have this problem. I could go on but I get extremely upset and my daughter bought in 2016 a front loader and Im sure it will happen to her. My husband researched on computer and we have to try to get more of these particles dissolved which we are going to try with vinegar. Bleach breaks up the sediment which you cannot see but the vinegar supposedly dissolves it. I am 69 years old and have never had such a problem with a washing machine. This is a disgrace!!!

Updated on 11/08/2019: Have had an ongoing problem with a compressor on an LG refrigerator that is 5 years old and no it out. When the service tech came out on 10/24, the unit was eligible to be fixed free of charge, (which they told me would cost hundreds of dollars). When I complained to LG via ConsumerAffairs, they posted this response on 11/07. When I called them today to inquire about getting it fixed free, they said that now that is was November, we no longer qualified since it was now more than 5 years old, (by 7 days since it was manufactured in October of 2014). Why would they tell me this and then recant it? See screenshot below.... Beware of LG Refrigerators and LG in total, I have two of these refrigerators and their TVs.Original Review: The compressor on our LG refrigerator went out after just 5 years, although its under warranty, it doesnt cover Labor which turn out is several hundred dollars. In addition, it takes weeks to get the parts, not fun when your fridge is down for several weeks. I have two LG refrigerators that we spent more than $2,000 for each....terrible investment. Beware of LG refrigerators.

Updated on 02/16/2021: My Husband and I bought a new home 4 years ago and we decided on all new LG appliances, LG Black stainless steel. We bought a LG Refrigerator, LG Microwave, LG Dishwasher and a LG Built in Oven (Double Range). So this past year we noticed Grooves on the oven Door and in the past 6 months they have started to Peel and Rust. We have started to noticed Paint chips in our food. Well, LG agreed to send out a company to see the damage and then they had the Audacity to say that I caused the damage to my own Product. I have never cleaned the oven other than the self cleaning mode. I do not even use anything other than Norwex in my Home. Its their way of sweeping it under the Rug. BLAME THE CONSUMER.Im 62 yrs old and they BLAMED ME AND MY HUSBAND to my FACE. All they had to do was change out the Door, but, yet, they didnt, instead they insulted us to our face. Would you really support such a COMPANY???? I have never in my Life been so frustrated with a Purchase that was made in good Faith. Now every time we use the oven to cook for our Kids and Grandkids, am I poisoning our Family???? We cant just go get a new oven on our Retirement, is this Company, LG, worth Purchasing From, Id be very aware in case something goes wrong with your appliance. Is it worth be stuck with a defective product as we are and no-one is there to back up your $$$$ Purchase? Give it thought before you buy LG Appliances.Original Review: I dont understand how a companys defective workmanship is under a one-year warranty, it has nothing to do with its normal use. My oven has a Monster in it, clawing to get out, I have the enamel chipping off, deep grooves that are now rusting, the oven is 4yrs old and expensive and Im unable to use it for fear of being poisoned. Please has anyone else had this issue or know of a class action in regards to the defect? I just may be the 1st. On LGs website there are others whove had this issue also. Should I contact them???? Im at a loss here.... Any Help would be appreciated.

Bought my machine from Home Depot on June 14, 2013. It has never gotten clothes clean or rinsed (unless I run a second rinse) them properly. I thought it was me, my detergent, or water. Changed detergents, added baking soda, and purchased a water softener. Today I was so frustrated with the rust on the bleach dispenser and LGs response to it that I went online to check for other rust complaints. Lo and behold, aloof the problem were listed, including that it takes too long to wash and tangles clothes, particularly any type of pant, terribly. I suspect thats why it gets so many balance errors. Worse part now is rust all around bleach dispenser. LG tells me its because I spill detergent and dont wipe up. You could eat out of my washer and dryer. I keep them so clean. Ive seen many, many rust reviews. This is an issue with the product. It has nothing to do with not wiping up a spill. If there is a class action suit, Id like to join!

He said we could only use one setting, casual. No big loads, No small loads. I couldnt believe it! It goes off balance constantly. I cant do a small load anymore?? Crazy, I want my $ back. I feel ripped off. Anyone else having problems after recall fix?UPDATED ON 01/21/2015: Bought top loader new. Had immediate recall on software. Since new software was installed, cant use any water but warm. Repair guy said dont put too much or too little in and only use one cycle. We have been having a cooling issues with our LG French Door Refrigerator.
We have been having a cooling issues with our LG French Door Refrigerator. We called the 800 243 0000 number a few times. The first time, the associate asked us to reset the unit and wait for 24 hrs. After the unit failed to reset, we called the number since the unit is under warranty. We were told LG does not have service technicians in our area and we will have to go through an authorized service center. The first service center refused to work with us saying they need the original sales receipt even after LG promised to cover the parts. The authorized service center then called me to give an estimate of $1500 without even looking at the unit. After we called LG service to help us find a technician or another service center, the LG executive response team member set me up with another authorized service center, who set up an appointment after LG provided an authorization. We waited for a week for the appointment, only to have the service call and inform us that they made a mistake and will not service LG units. This is after the LG associate was on a conference call with us and the service center a week ago. So after two week of waiting we have no resolution in sight and LG customer service keeps giving us the runaround. PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE LG PRODUCTS.

Dont do it!!! Do not invest in a LG Front Loader Washing Machine!! It is the worst washing machine, the most I have ever paid for a washing machine I have ever owned. Here you go: 1) There is a terribly designed trap door at the bottom left where you are supposed to a) clean your filter and b) drain your tub out if pump breaks or any other problem with water remaining in tub. Well, if the tub gets full of water and doesnt drain out, the tube doesnt work and you open the lint cleaner and water goes all over your floor. It is horrible. I really hate this washing machine. Now it is 2 years old and the WATER PUMP had to be changed out. OMG, what a disaster of an investment. Please listen to me: DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS WASHING MACHINE.

Bad Service - 38 months old French Door with dual ice makers and the in door ice maker fails. It makes ice but cannot seem to get them to fall when it turns to empty without getting stuck and making a clicking noise. I called LG and they connected me to an LG authorized service center 70 miles away. The service center called the day they were to arrive and asked me how I was going to pay. I asked for an estimate and was informed that ice makers cannot be repaired as LG does not fix ice makers but only replaces them for a cost of $500. The reason that was provided is they are made in Korea. What a bunch of BS from the authorized service center. I just canceled the order for all LG products on the new home going up. I would not take the chance with their product again.

Bought an LG WT5070CW several years ago because of the extra large capacity. My old LG front loader died after 10+ years and since we had a good experience with their washers we went with another. That was the biggest mistake ever! We have a very large family and laundry can get behind fast. It takes a half a day sometimes to wash 1 load of laundry due to the UE code and our inability to get it to balance. Im way behind now and have had to resort going to the laundromat. After thinking about it, with the money we spent at the laundromat, I could have bought a better washer. If I could give it no stars I would. Never again and after reading some of the other reviews I may never buy another LG product. There is obviously no reason to contact the company either after reading reviews though I have sent an email to complain about this washer. The only thing it is good for is scrap metal.

My 6-year-old refrigerator quit completely (most likely compressor). I called LG as parts are still under warranty. They gave me 3 places to call to schedule a repair. Two places stated they no longer accepted any service calls on LG repairs and one said she was so far out of my area she didnt know why they gave me their number. I called LG back and was told to see if I could find somebody. I called several places and got the same thing so I called LG back again. I was then told I would be placed with scheduling and somebody would call me in 3 to 5 business days. I asked was their list different or more current and was told his list was fine. I asked him to go unplug his refrigerator for the next 10 days and throw away $300.00 worth of food. He said there was no reason for me to get smart. This is unbelievable. LG doesnt know which of their service providers still honor their calls??? I am now shopping for a refrigerator after 3 days of doing without and no resolution in sight and considering an attorney. I bought this machine in March, 2016. I got a 10 year warranty and that was a selling point. Ive followed the manual to the T. I clean the water filters, tub clean every month, etc. So I am doing my due diligence. However, since the day I got it it hasnt done a load the same way twice no matter the setting. It doesnt use enough water and ruins clothing. I have a very bad back so I had to put a short hose to connect to my slop sink because it was taking a toll on my arthritis. It cannot even begin to do a heavy duty load! I always have to add more water to every single load so that nothing gets ruined. My old machine was 20 years old and did an incredible job compared to this piece of junk. I bought rubber foot holders to make sure it didnt move around which did work but the machine itself is useless. My husband has to wear fire retardant clothing to work, which is extremely expensive, and even when I add water it continues to destroy these from clothes faster than Ive ever seen a washer abuse clothing. The load sensor is useless. Its just there for bells and whistles. There is supposed be an app to tag on to the machine to do smart diagnosis. There is no such app available anywhere. But it says there is and gives step by step instructions on how to do it which takes up more pages in the manual than anything else in there. But its just filler to make it look good. This was a selling point I liked too, but as I said, its non-existent. Ive tried contacting them a few times but I dont get any response. None. I need to either get them to replace this with something that actually works or return my money. I should have bought the Samsung like was going to initially. Every time I try to use the Bulky/Bedding cycle it fills the tub to the very top and Im always afraid its going to overflow. Even if its not a big load it fills to the top. Now, this is supposed to be a high efficiency machine but I hardly call that efficient at all. I need something that works. On top of it all, I bought at H.H. Gregg near me which isnt even there anymore and I refuse to let them come look at it just to tell me I need a new main board, which seems to be the reason for everyones problems, according to all the reviews Ive read. LIFE IS NOT GOOD WITH THIS MACHINE! I need real help here. If anyone can suggest something positive that might get me a new machine that actually works, Im all ears.

Right after 1 year warranty, my washer which is upstairs flooded my downstairs. Often people think it is a bad hose. Brand new house and everything. The rear tub assembly was at fault. Just a faulty machine, lucky us. They had me running circles to try to pay a claim. Finally I just paid out of pocket to fix downstairs ceiling, electrical etc. The washer continued to be a problem, rusting on the side near the top and we would see some water running down the side. Repairman said he sees this all the time. Water will spray out the seam near the top. NEXT, Dryer runs when door is shut continuously. Ive been doing laundry for almost 30 years and never had a problem until their machines. I will never purchase another LG product in my lifetime. I would pay twice the price for any other brand. The machine was bought from best buy, around July 2013, everything was working fine until 11/18/2013 when it started to leak from the bottom of the machine, there was no error code, it just kept filling up with water and leaking out, at the bottom. It continued to leak even after turning the machine off it was a mess it I hope it hasnt ruined my floor, called LG they thought it might be the sensors coated with detergent scum. So suggested I run vinegar through machine…We did, it did not solve the problem. We called best buy who sent out a repair person within the hour. He discovered after removing the back panel that the little clear hose that is connected to the tub and connects to a small drain tip that is connected to in the back of the machine had be pulled loose. The hose did not have a lot of give, so when the basket rotated it pulled it off. He gave it a little more slack, and it seems to be holding but we will see what happens… All in all, the machine has been working beautifully. I do not use any detergent on my clothes and they always come out clean and smelling clean. So when they say you need very little detergent I can see why. We also bought the matching dryer which is also fantastic…I called LG and let them know what Best buy found so they could notate, and make some changes. I will keep you updated on any other glitches.

We purchased an LG bottom freezer refrigerator on Nov. 17, 2014, model # LF
We purchased an LG bottom freezer refrigerator on Nov. 17, 2014, model # LFD22786. In June 2017 we noticed the foods in the freezer had become soft and the fridge unit itself was not as cold as before. We called LG and they sent an LG repairman the next day. He deemed the unit unrepairable due to Freon leakage. Because we had already lost about $50 in perishables and some frozen foods we could not wait for the claim to be processed (approx. 5 business days) and decided to purchase a new one (another LG in fact!) while waiting for LG to determine a prorated refund for the now busted fridge. As we dont live in a very big house we simply could not keep the old one and have the new one and asked that they haul away the old one when dropping off the new one. We thought we were doing the right thing especially knowing the pictures were taken by the repairman of the damaged unit, the back of the fridge and also the tag that is on the inside of the fridge. We called LG 3 times since then and each time have been advised that our claim would not be honoured because we did not remove this tag from the inside of the refrigerator. We had told LG each time that we were not told to remove the tag and because they had a picture from the LG repairman we felt that this should have been proof enough but no. We did not follow their procedure. Well, if we had known we would be have but we could not do without refrigeration for another day. What annoys me the most is that LG will not even meet us half way for reimbursement. I was assured by 2 LG representatives that the only reason they would not refund us is because no tag. I fail to understand this logic when it was their repairman who deemed the unit junk. We are technically out $1600, more or less. Up until now I had faith in LG but with them not even considering the refund of any sort is just beyond me. I am a very unhappy consumer. The place that we purchased this new LG fridge from (Lowes) has offered to take it back, refund us the full amount what we paid for it and allow us to purchase another brand from their store. How wonderful is that??!! Lowes knows that a happy customer is a repeat customer. Unfortunately LG does not. Life is not good.

This problem dates back to April 2019. My 1 yr old LG Refrigerator stopped working so I called LG and they dispatched a Tech from A&E repair (Sears). The tech told me it was compressor and evaporator and would be about 1000 to fix. I told him I would contact LG as it should be under warranty. So he charge me 119 dollars and left. I called LG. They said it was in fact under warranty and shouldnt have been charged. They dispatched the same repair people 1 weeks later. So it now been 2wks. with no Refrigerator. Repair guy came and had to order the parts (why couldn’t he see the first guys diagnostic).2 more weeks without Refrigerator. Guy showed up and fixed the problem. Fast forward to July 15th 2019 dead refrigerator again, So I called LG. They assured me this would be fixed in a timely manner! Well they promised by the 31st and A&E confirmed it but to no avail, A&E rescheduled it for the 9th of AUG. Well after hours on phone they said they will come here on the 7th which is today. The guy shows up and looks at it, takes the back off and says we have more issues not just the compressor but the evaporator and he will need to order parts. So now it’s been 3 weeks and he can’t be back here until the 26th.We have been living out of ice chest to keep our food cold. We are a family of 4 so wasting a lot of time and money for ice, I am a heart patient and need to eat a certain way, so I can’t rely on fast food. This has been a complete nightmare. I spent over 2000 dollars on a product I thought was quality. On another note I purchased a LG 60 inch TV and it died 14 months later just out of warranty--1000 dollars down the drain. So much for Lifes Good.

I wished that I could have read this blog before I purchased my LG refrigerator. I purchased my refrigerator 4 years ago and have had the fuse blown twice, ruining all the contents of my refrigerator. The servicemans fix was using a paperclip to bypass the fuse and order me a new board, which would cost $400 (if I didnt have warranty). He explained that on this refrigerator, the fuse was located on the main circuit board and when the little fuse blows, you have to replace the whole board, which costs around $400.00, and it takes awhile to obtain. Two years almost to that day, my refrigerator went out again due to the same issue. I had extended warranty through Home Depot. It took a week to get a serviceman to my home, to hear that the main fix is to by-pass the fuse with a paperclip or some wire. I was told that LG is aware of the poor design and hasnt made any changes to keep this problem from occurring again. I lost another refrigerator full of food and some expensive medications to hear the paper clip is the answer again! I told the service repair that I wanted a new board ordered and placed on the back of this expensive refrigerator to hear him say that it is a temporary fix. LG has an issue with their product, people have contacted them, and they seem not to care. I contacted via Live Chat to hear, I am sorry for your inconvenience and had enough of that pre-typed message and asked for a supervisor. The supervisor said that there was nothing they could do but would pass my complaint on to a claims review dept. and that they may or may not contact me to help resolve the issue. I asked for a phone number to contact LG and was told by John (the supervisor) that he did not have a number for me to talk with someone about my issue. This was all that I needed to hear from someone online. It seems that LG hides behind their Live Chat personnel and are not interested in addressing their issues. Home Depot should be embarrassed to carry their products. We teach our children to make their wrongs right. I guess LG missed out on that lesson!

Our LG fridge was purchased on March 4, 2019. Delivered on March 7th. Fridge was not operating correctly or safely. We were advised by an LG tech to unplug the unit immediately and what unfolded from there has been the worst consumer experience of our 45 year marriage. After numerous missed appointments, incorrect diagnoses, improper parts and the inconvenience of living without a refrigerator the issue was finally resolved on June 18. Needless to say LG products will never be purchased by our family and friends again.

I spent $2,000 on an LG refrigerator in October of 2016. It has not worked since April of 2018. I have made over 30 calls to LG. They have sent 4 technicians out to repair. Each technician has said it is unrepairable and sent necessary paperwork to LG for replacement. I have even submitted a report with the BBB and sent all necessary receipts for fridge and lost food like they requested for replacement and compensation for food lost. LG said they would call back within 5 days and take care of. NOTHING. I have now called 5 times in the last week and even if you get someone to answer - they ask the SAME THING give us your email address so we can send you link to a website to upload your proof of purchase. They NEVER send you an email!! Lies, lies, lies!!! They are crooks!! Their product is junk and their customer service is even worse!! Beware - NEVER buy an LG product!!

We purchased our LG washer dryer pair at Home Depot around 5 years ago, and they has been working fine. Today we noticed the glass lid on the washing machine had spontaneously shattered like a car windshield might. It was still intact but had fractured into hundreds of 1/4 to 1/2 pieces. I contacted LG and was told that this was very rare and was directed to several authorized LG service vendors. A simple Google search shows that many people have had this exact experience with this very same LG washer model. It seems to obviously be a design defect, as it was not being used or touched when the glass shattered. If the glass had disintegrated into the tub I suspect the washing machine would have to replaced. As it is a replacement lid from Sears PartsDirect will be here in two days. In the meantime the lid was very simple to remove. What an odd part failure... LG should take responsibility for this problem for this model washer, which many people have experienced. I was lucky that more damage was not done.

My LG refrigerator LRFC 25750ST - The door latch at the top is connected by a very thin black plastic. It broke in both doors, and the doors do not remain closed properly. I called their 1888 542 2623 customer service for LG in Canada. I was on hold for 40 minutes and no result. I called direct new number 647-253-6300. I got reception first time. She said she will connect to some higher-up in customer service. Same recording - no one picked up. Funny thing, when I called them again, it would go to the recording again. Their product and service are both horrible. I would not buy LG again.

I have the LG model WM2140CW washer and dryer for about 2 years. I have cleaned the gasket, inside of the tub, and door on the washing machine as directed by the manufacturer and run bleach through the tub clean cycle and still cannot get rid of the moldy smell. When cleaning the gasket, I noticed mold and mildew on the gasket and have cleaned them with modified bleach and even used Q-tips to remove the mold, it just comes back. Even after you wipe the gaskets off after each wash, you cannot get all of the mold out of the gaskets and this transfers to your clothes, sometimes needing to be rewashed 2 or 3 times. I keep the door open for ventilation but there is no way for the gasket area to stay completely dry. The smell is so bad at times you have to close the laundry room door to keep it from reeking into the rest of the house. I am calling for service this week but I know what they are going to tell me which is exactly what I have been doing. I would not recommend this LG set to anyone. I plan on going back to a top loading washer just to get the smell out of my house and clothes. As far as the dryer, I have to run it 2 to 3 times just to get clothes dry. Avoid LG at all costs.

I bought the whole LG kitchen appliances set for my $20000 new remodeled kitchen 11/2018. By 9/2019, 10 months later, my stovetop looked white from decoloration. I called, they send someone and at 10 months, they called it wear and tear, say WHAT?. My last stove last me 12 yrs and still had a perfect black top. Under warranty, they did not change it. So I ended with a brand new kitchen and all discolored new stove. On 03/2020, 16 months from purchased, the double top burner stopped working and now I am going to have to pay for the repair of the burner, either keep my cooktop all whitish or replace it on 18 months $800 new!!!! LG range. I might just have to kicked it to the curb, count my losses, cry a little and buy AMERICAN. Customer services just keep saying I didnt buy the 5 year warranty. Im very disappointed and I see no end to this.

This is the WORST experience I have ever had with a major appliance. I should have known when LG started sending yearly checks to make up for under estimating the electric usage of this model. I have replaced gaskets around the doors twice. However, my MAJOR complaint is the tubing that runs to the ice maker. I have had repairs/tubing replacement no less than 6 times in five years. Almost every six months the tubing (5/16 tubing - which is virtually impossible to find) springs a pinpoint leak and water is all over my kitchen floor. Every time I have a repairman, it costs me at least another $100. My latest was again this morning!! This refrigerator is not worth the dynamite I would use to blow it up!

I have bought this LG Intello 6.5 Kg washing machine (Product T7066MN) in 2009 for Rs 12,000, and it is just out of warranty, and it has stopped working. I reported this to customer care on 1/9/2012, and the engineer reported a major repair worth Rs 4,000. My concern is the machine is just out of warranty and has such major parts under repair. Is this the quality of LG products? My previous machines I bought had minimum life before coming to repair (6 years). What is the guarantee that if I spend Rs 4,000 now, which is 1/3 the original cost, it will solve all of the problems? I would not recommend LG products to anyone. They just have good looks and no quality.

The LG was bought by my parents and they chose it because of the sleek design and positive reviews. It was recommended by Best Buy employees. They said that it was the best refrigerator on the market for the price. It kept things cold, had lots of space, vegetable crispers. It also had a freezer up top that was very roomy. We loved it!! It also lasted a long time when the power went off. An egg container would have been nice to have, also the ice maker would break very frequently or not create ice for long periods of time. The ice maker was my biggest complaint. But I really enjoyed it overall though all!!

I would never buy any product from LG (FH4B8QDA1) again. I bought a washing machine that within 6 months was marking my laundry with black streaks. I phoned LG who sent their local engineer. The man who came out said he had never seen such a clean washing machine (I used Calgon as per LGs care instruction in the booklet). He took some photos and said they would be in touch... but he thought the door seal would need replacing even though there was no marks on it at all! I never heard back from them. So I phoned LG again. LG said after the engineer had looked at the machine and made a report. It was because I was using Calgon to clean the machine and non bio laundry liquid. I wasnt entitled to another opinion as I had, had an engineer come out to me! The only thing I could do was to get an independent report on the machine. So I went back to the shop where I bought it and they knew someone who did reports. I had an independent report done on the machine and it was proven by two people and photos that there was grease in the bearings that was getting into the machine. After LG had the report it again took a very long time for any response and a lot of phone calls on my part. They accepted the machine was faulty and were going to replace it. I asked for compensation for all clothes and bedding that had been ruined and I had, had to replace. Suddenly there was nothing wrong with my machine and it was the fact that I used non bio!!! The shop I bought it at ended up replacing it for me. I would never recommend LG to anyone and their customer service is appalling. So much, that I havent even registered this new machine as obviously a guarantee doesnt mean anything anyway!!!

We purchased a side-by-side model. When they delivered the refrigerator, it would not square up; it looked crooked. They said it worked fine and could not take it back. When we noticed it was bulging from the sides and was wider in the middle, that sort of looked like a problem. The drawers would not stay in the grooves. When we called, they said they would get back with us, which they never did. The refrigerator was bought in 2008. Then the water valve for the ice maker went bad. I called to buy a replacement part, but they no longer make that part. So Im out of luck with a $2100 refrigerator that has no ice maker. I cant even sell it for a second refrigerator for the garage sale as a result.I would tell everyone to beware of this company as they are not reliable. I will never purchase another LG product. I hear Electrolux has the best warranty and service department.

I run it once or maybe twice a week. LG says they stand behind their product, but they refuse to reimburse me for any of the parts or labor to replace the motor for the second time in 4 years. Called customer service and was advised to call service tech in our area, he never returned call. Under the LGs useless warranty they stated we would have to pay for service call. Filed complaint with BBB and went no where. Also, supplied pics of receipt and broken part. They offered a possible courtesy visit from tech and would not supply replacement part or refund. Guess they will go out of business if they had to honor their warranty for all the POSs they are unloading on the consumers. No customer service or ethics to this company. No stars for this company. He recommended I called priority services and they said we can’t do anything about it because the oven is still functioning correctly. I contacted the Better Business Bureau of New Jersey and had many email conversations with them and LG headquarters and the final decision was I’m supposed to use three or four different types of chemicals to clean the oven because their feature does not work. I bought my first LG front load washer 4 years ago. The water is pouring out of the bottom of machine. So back to repair person. He told me LG had by now paid more for repairs, than the machine is worth, so now LG finally agree to relapse my machine, but I had to drive 225km to pick it up myself. But died that, and now, only 1/1/2 years later this LG is also stuffed. So for me LG never again. Worst machine I ever had, and I am 76 years old, so have had a few machines. Shall go back to ASKO.

This is a beautiful, very large washer. Had great reviews and ratings in consumer magazines, etc. For 10 months or so it functioned well, handling large quantities of laundry, including towels and bedding. Then nearing the 1 year mark, the UE symbol, meaning it cant spin out the water from your clothing was a regular occurrence. I was told to use the tub clean cycle. It may have helped it balance for a few uneventful loads. But it was short lived. If you like standing over the top of a washer watching to see if it will spin, etc., but seeing it add 20 or more minutes over and over, then this is the one for you. A big disappointment.Updated on 1/23/2017: Whenever I have called LG about the frequent (Out of balance) issue they always say run the tub clean cycle, which I suppose tries to re-balance or reset without any clothes in it. Purchased model LDE3035SB on 10/27/14. On around the 23rd of Feb (2015) I decided to do the easy clean on my upper oven (this is a double oven range) since it wast that dirty to require the self clean cycle. When it finished I had to wipe the bottom out because there was still water in the bottom. I was about to put the rack back in when I noticed something that I thought was food in the back right corner. I tried to hand clean but it would not clean. I rubbed my fingers over and felt that about a half dollar size section of the enamel was gone. Called LG and they said they would send a repair person out at our expense. We had not used this oven much because we had been gone over all the holidays and could not do much cooking in Jan. because we were having it remodeled and only did toast or baked potatoes or something simple. When the repair guy came out he told me I was pushing the rack back too far and said that LG would not cover anything like this because it was considered cosmetic. We asked if it could be repaired and he said no. We contacted LG and were told they would not do anything about it but for us not to use the any of the self cleaning cycles. If this is true and the blue enamel is only cosmetic, then why cant we use the cleaning cycles. We even went to Lowes to see if they could get something done.... they were told the same thing. Funny thing I was recently told by 2 different appliance repairmen do you know what LG really means when I was asking about my range.... It stands for Lousy Goods. It is only a little over 4 months old and I wont be able to use my self clean. When it gets to filthy, we will toss it and a new rage but not a LG. $1,300 down the drain.

We bought an LG freezer on the bottom french door refrigerator a couple of years ago. One year later, the computer board went out. It wasnt in the warranty. We had to pay for a new computer board. We had to spend a great deal of money for ice in the ice chest to keep things from spoiling. That went on for 3 weeks until the new board arrived. The LG stopped working again soon after. We had to buy a new one, this time, a Maytag. It was bought Oct. 28 and today, the freezer stopped working. Now it has started up again. Very strange. We had given our 15 year old Whirlpool refrigerator to our daughter when we bought the LG and that old Whirlpool is still working like a charm. Thats because it has no computer board on the back! Why on earth do name brand companies compromise their name by manufacturing these inferior products now and use a computer board? They take no pride in their name. Their refrigerators are made in Korea, not the US, and are made to be disposable. Never mind the expense to the consumer. Can anyone tell me why there has to be computer boards to run a refrigerator? They are never reliable. I would love to bring a class action lawsuit to manufacturers of these appliances and computer boards, but dont know where to start. I am sure everything is made in Korea. Shame on all those manufacturers!

I have the same problem with the moldy smell. I had a service guy in today and I am going to follow his advise and see what happens. The washer is already smelling better! His advise; First, he adjusted the front feet so the machine sloped slightly back so the front gasket drains fully, then he showed me how to drain the washer by using the dials (no one explained this to me!). Turn on machine, dont touch the main dial, go to spin speed button and press it. Display should read 13 minutes, then start washer. This will completely drain any standing water! Good luck **. He also recommended to use half a cup dish washing detergent in the drum, wash on full hot cycle. Do this at your own discretion, I am trying this tonight!

Updated on 10/08/2020: LG asked for information on 9/30/2020 so they can send out a repairman and I havent heard from anyone since. I have two kids to feed and I need my stove, it would be of great service if LG would honor their word and product.Original Review: We replaced all of our GE appliances that we had well over ten years with LG because of the design and salesman said its a good product. The gas range model# LRG3193BD, side by side refrigerator model #LSXS26386D, dishwasher model #805KWYPOP434 and the front load washer and dryer spending a good $8000 less than 2yrs ago. The stove looks like its 10yrs old (easy clean is a whole joke, food seared on pretty blue oven which I now have to clean myself). We have discoloration on the door handle, knobs, grates and burners all within a couple months of use.. Now the main board has gone out and to top that off we find out it has since been discontinued. Called LG customer service (nightmare). They refused to sell us the part saying only license repair Co can order. Had to pay repair Co $116 come to tell us they cannot get the part. Called LG again (nightmare) and all of a sudden they can send us the part for $106 but its on backordered. The refrigerator is discoloring in areas we dont even touch and the ice-maker starts and stops when it wants to. The dishwasher doesnt clean or dry well and the slightest touch turns it on. Where you put the detergents has rusted and its hard to clean and we have to leave the washer open after use or it smells to high heaven, dryer is ok. Remember these products are no more than 2yrs old. I will never buy LG products again nor will I recommend to anyone!

Bought a Kenmore french door SS fridge for my son less than 4 years ago. Its made by LG. A week ago it stopped working. Had an ex-LG service rep, now an independent repairman, come out to fix it. He made 5 trips. Each time thinking it was a different circuit board after talking with the LG tech department. In the end, he determined it was the compressor that had failed. Most folks Ive talked to said its not worth fixing, just buy a new fridge. From this site, it seems that this is a fairly common problem, and that LG makes a deficient product. Every other fridge Ive owned (and I have 5 rental properties in addition to our own home) have lasted just about forever. Lesson: stay away from LG products!

I am currently overseas and purchased an LG F1443KD front loading washer 3 years ago and as a lot of people have experienced the rotor plastic splines have stripped out. As soon as the washer started acting up I tore into it. I can replace the rotor here for around 80 dollars, so I am not even contemplating going through the hassle of the warranty and having to pay for the service call and then be at the mercy of someone else. So this is the cheapest and easiest route by far and I will have my washer back on line in a week. In the meantime I do have a smaller unit upstairs that will suffice until this one is fixed. So will I buy another LG? I am on the fence on this one. Maybe if I get a great deal. LG has been around for many years, but they were not always called LG. What I read is they were previously GOLDSTAR.... and if memory serves me correctly, GOLDSTAR was something you would buy at the supermarket.

Bought this French Door refrigerator a couple of years ago. The ice maker design is very poor and goes out of order more often than usual. You cant just fix it, you must change the whole display which is expensive and those LG repairs are quite expensive as well.

Love the sensors that are inside to control the cooking of the unit, great for popcorn and re-heating. This microwave has the ability of re-heating a cup of coffee without giving it that burnt taste. We especially like the increased capacity of the inside of the oven itself, and like the way it fits under the cabinet over the stove and is vented to the outside.
