We purchased the LG French door, bottom freezer about 5 years ago. We spent the extra money because we thought that LG was one of the best at the time. This model has only the water-in-the-door; icemaker in bottom drawer. The salesperson showed us why THIS bottom drawer was better than others with the same idea: the gear-type rollers were more substantial and the slides were larger. The rationale was that it would be more durable. In the past year, the freezer drawer is becoming harder and harder to pull out and/or push in. I have taken the bin out and found grease/graphite on the bottom of the unit and along the left rail. Water from the icemaker also tends to build up as it sometimes drips onto the left rail, making the rolling very difficult. After wiping it out, it seems to be fine for a few hours...then its hard again. We have had it with LG appliances. We had an LG dishwasher that nobody would work on. The LG washer/dryer that we have, are doing OK for now, but the bellows in the bottom of the washer where the water is pumped has cracked twice in 5 years, allowing water to run get on the floor. I should have had a pan put under the washer, but this indicates either bad engineering or bad design.

I have been reading many of the disturbing complaints in this forum regarding the LG washer recall and can only add to the frustration expressed here. My parents purchased one of the models that has been recalled (WT5101HV Serial No. 007KWYP02018), about 18 months ago. The machine was acting up, and they just got the letter about 2 months ago. We called LG and scheduled to have a technician come out, and they did the software patch download. This was a joke! It did not fix the problem, instead it only perpetuated it. Now, instead of the wash load spinning rapidly out of balance.... it spins much more slowly and still out of balance! In addition, the wash and rinse cycles still do not work properly. The machine starts the normal wash cycle, and never drains any of the soapy water! Instead, it keeps adding more and more water (just like before). It only drains all of the dirty soapy water (very slowly) at the end of the Full wash/rinse/and softener cycle. And it never properly spins the wet clothes to remove excess dirty water. This process takes 3 times as long as before, and the clothes never come out totally clean. A simple load can take all day to complete! They are ready to Dump the unit in the ocean! Does anyone know if there is any kind of class action or formal legal group that is trying to get LG to make customers whole?

I purchased the LG washer in 2013 using recommendations from Consumer Reports. The washer ran constantly until I had to control the cycles. It reminded me of the wringer washer that my mother used in the 1950’s. I had to set a timer to remind me to reset the machine. I was not satisfied with the cleaning quality of the machine. Finally, in 2016, I gave up, gave the LG away and bought a Whirlpool, which has met my expectations for a quality machine.

We purchased two of these dryers from Durochers in Sylvania Ohio. The experience with Durochers was very bad. The customer service was horrible and they damaged our woodwork and cabinets during install and tried to leave it - when it was repaired it was a botch job. However this review is about the dryer itself. Due to a sensor it constantly turns off and does not leave clothes dry, I have to restart it almost three times to get clothes dry. I have tried every cycle. If you have towels it will take all day. Would not recommend these dryers.

The LG over-the-range microwave MODEL LMV1683ST caught on fire. This appliance was manufactured in December 2014 and I purchased it at Lowes in March 2015. On July 3, 2015 the unit started sparking and smoking and then flames started shooting inside the unit. 4 months old and LG thinks it might be repairable. I dont want that unit in my house. I have spend several hours cumulatively on the phone trying to get a new unit. The unit only cost $200, yet they have sent repair people to my home. The cost of the repair time has exceeded the cost of goods and out of frustration, LG has created a consumer that will never buy another LG product. The poor Customer Service Reps must hate their job. They are not empowered to really help the consumer. It seems to me that LG has a lot to learn about customer satisfaction.

We bought a one year old LG Trom stainless steel washer from a co-worker of my spouse when we moved into our new house. I was not crazy about a front loader but loved the price and the fact he would deliver it. To its credit, it spent the next 2 1/2 years washing up here, including the cast offs of 4-5 bassets hounds, which we foster for the rescue. We got an error code OE on a regular basis and cleaned out the two filters and it came back on. It made our clothes and laundry room smell and always leaked a small amount out on the floor. Finally, it would not clear the OE code although I could run it through the cycles manually. When I checked on getting it repaired, the eye opening started. The first appliance store I called stated that something should be done about these being imported into the country. He virtually recoiled when I told him what I had. And only person in my area (southern Houston, not exactly the boonies) worked on these and could get parts. Okay, I called him. $75.00 service call when we can get to you, and it cant be applied towards the repair. Then I researched online and found out that it would most likely cost 200-400 dollars to fix it with even small things wrong.Okay....maybe I just will buy something else, like the top loading white Kenmore I have spent the last 50 years washing in. I checked around with two used dealers and again, they didnt fix LGs, would not carry them, and didnt want one. The used Kenmore is downstairs merrily washing away in 30 minutes time when the LG took an hour for most anything. Also, I could soak or dye anything in it. It left here with the junk dealer...Good Riddance!

My wife and I purchased an LG refrigerator a couple of month ago (model: LFXS28968). Roughly, two weeks ago we got a code on the digital display screen indicating dH (Freezer) and F (refrigerator). I called in a repair request to your service department (the unit was still under warranty) and sent the service department both a sales receipt and a purchase order from the stored it was bought. They scheduled a service technician to come out to look at the unit. He never came to look at the unit but said he would order the part due to the nature of the display screen read out. He also told me that if the service department did not call me within three days I would be entitled to a new unit (I guess beyond that time the food would begin to spoil). After not hearing from anyone for the past three days I tried to get in touch with the technician at least five times by both cell phone and text messaging. Absolutely no response. Then, I called the service department which was no help at all. They could not get in touch with the technician nor could they trace the part which they claimed they ordered. They said they would look into it and get back in touch with me. Guess what? they never got back in touch with me. Then I had to get in touch with a supervisor who still could not reach the technician nor trace the supposed part. The next day I spoke to a different supervisor who again could not get in touch with the technician nor located the part. The next day I called and wanted to speak to a manager from the LG Corporation. Instead I spoke to another supervisor who indicated the part was ordered from Korean and was on its way.I asked her what kind of compensation would I receive for all of spoiled food (both the refrigerator and freezer). I received a mere $150.00. Instead LG could have resolved the problem by supplying me with a new unit within the three day time frame. They decided to prolong the problem and that stretched into two weeks. This has been one of the most frustrating situations I have ever been involved in. The level of incompetence, and lack of empathy towards their customers is incomprehensible. Seldom do I write reviews but this is an exception. I hope anyone who may be thinking of purchasing a LG refrigerator will do their homework on the LG brand. I will never purchase another LG product nor will I recommend this product to any of my friends.

I had an LG front load in the washer for six years and the bearing started
I had an LG front load in the washer for six years and the bearing started to go out and needed to be replaced. I called LG and they sold me a warranty to fix the problem. A week later I was contacted by a local appliance store, who came out and looked at my machine. They said yes, it was a bearing problem, but they were not sure that LG would actually authorize the repair, even though I had called LG and specifically requested a bearing repair replacement and they had listened to the machine as it was operating and agreed that it was a bearing problem. The repair technician called them and they did agree to repair my machine. He ordered the parts and two weeks later showed up to do the repair. He worked on my machine for about three hours and finally got the job done. After he had reassembled my machine he said it would be a good idea to run a cycle to make sure it was all cleaned out after the repair. Without me doing anything, he started the machine, which sounded like it was working properly. He left and a few minutes later I left for an appointment. When I came back about 20 minutes later the door on the machine was knocked open the trashcan next to the machine was knocked over water was all over the floor, And the breaker to the machine had been tripped. I called the repair man and he came back within about an hour and looked at the machine. Now the tub, the plastic one that encircles the steel one, has a crack in it and was vibrating so violently inside the machine cabinet that it broke the heating element compartment and spewed water all over the entire inside of the machine in the electronics in there. I called LG to inquire what to do now and they basically say that they will not cover this repair because I should’ve not left the house with the washing machine running unattended. ** believable… I cannot believe that a company would say some such BS to a customer who contacted their repair department, purchased their recommended extended warranty, and used their certified repair technician. And keep in mind it was the technician who at the end of the repair said it would be a good idea to run an empty cycle to clean everything out of the washer. And he did not say you need to stay in the house with your washing machine. And I would imagine almost everybody has washed clothes and left the house with the washer running.I feel that LG has demonstrated incredibly poor customer service and corporate malfeasance with the way they are abusing people with their worthless warranty. I am considering legal action, and possibly a class action lawsuit to see how many other people they have treated in this way. If you have been treated this way, please call me and leave a message at **. Leave your contact information and tell me about your LG warranty nightmare experience. I will write it up and hopefully turn the materials over to a law firm.Nobody should be treated as poorly as I was… Basically they sent a technician into my home who completely destroy my washing machine in an attempt to repair my machine that obviously went wrong, and now LG is blaming me. Ridiculous. Outrageous. Nobody should be allowed to do business this way. I will also be contacting one of our local TV affiliates who does stories on problems like this and see if they want to pick this up. I am pissed and I imagine there are a lot of other people out there just like me.

I agree with the reviewer who wrote that they are scamming you for money. Our fridge broke twice due to the compressor. The first time we paid for repairs $350 in labor. The second time, the repair people said to call LG to get labor covered. I called. First guy took information and said he would call back in an hour after talking to the supervisor. No call 3 hours later so I called again. This person gave me a completely different story and had me do completely different steps including sending in a picture of my receipt of purchase. I did and she said someone would contact me 3-5 business days later. 10 business days later I call to find out the claim had been rejected but theyd be happy to send someone out to fix it with us having to pay for both the compressor and the labor. I told them no thanks. We would be buying a new fridge that was NOT LG.

Bought the refrigerator in December of 2017. In June of 2021 the compressor went out. Had a technician come out. Told me it was a compressor. LG says they have to send their own own technician out to confirm it is the compressor. Their guy comes out. Confirms what the 1st guy said. LG gets the order for the parts, the technician comes out a month later, puts in the whole new compressor. Next day refrigerator isnt working yet again. Called the technician. They say they dont have anyone available and that if its not working then I need to call lg back. I call LG only to learn that they say the same technician has to come out and they can discuss with their technician over the phone whats wrong with my refrigerator. I will never buy anything from this company again. Horrible customer service. Very, disrespectful. They dont care about their customers whatsoever and if they say they do its a flat out lie.

I bought a top load washing machine, three months later machine started giving some i3 code means water pump is not working correctly, so we call LG. Looks like everything going ok. They send a tech to check the machine. His name DAVID **. I will never forget this name. Why? This tech is a LG house. He told me, Oh! Pump is not working. I will order the part. Ill come back and replace it, so like I said before everything looks nice although this guy is honest so far. He came back ten days later. I wasnt in home. My wife let him do the job. He spend 15min to replace the pump. Wow this guy is awesome. Finished fast and good worked supported. In the following days we know if something is wrong with the machine, softener stays doesnt go away. We call LG again. They said if a tech come to our house again we will pay for it, I totally refused to pay anything if we still have our warranty. Anyways they send another guy from APEX APPLIANCE SERVICE, GUESS WHAT HAPPEN NEXT. This second tech find out the LG guy never replace the water pump and LG tech DAVID ** sabotage our machine cutting the wires. This way our machine will never show codes anymore.Apex tech pass the information about what happen to LG and again when I called LG they dont have any info about it. Looks like they cover each other. I dont know exactly. ANYWAYS, if I describe all terrible time what happens to get my machine fixed will take me more than 24 hrs to do it, anyways if you already purchased any LG items youre **... Just watch out for this guy DAVID **. If your machine is broke or if its another tech from LG be on him make sure he fixed your expensive machine. LG COMPANY IS A NIGHTMARE. NEVER EVER WE WILL BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS BRAND.

LG gaskets for French door model never sealed properly when I bought a few years ago. The gaskets would sometimes keep door from closing completely, but light and warning beeper would deactivate. Many times we would come back to refrigerator finding one door slightly ajar. LG help desk said to firmly close it and this was due to a tight, but normal fit. They were no help. Now, the top door gaskets have torn on both sides. LG said it has been over 1 year and I am s.o.l. They said there have not been any recalls and it has never been a problem. I went to appliance store and every make & model of refrigerators including LG had a new design of the gasket with a flap on top and bottom of gasket. LG said that my refrigerator gaskets can be replaced, but they are the original design. I contacted one of the certified LG repair service and they gave me a quote of $250 to replace gaskets. When I checked online, other owners of LG models like mine have had similar problems. I ordered both gaskets for $74 shipping included and installed them myself after viewing a YouTube demo. It was really easy and took about 15 minutes. Dont bother with LG customer service, it is a waste of time. LG does not mean Life is Good. It means Lucky Gold Star and you really need the luck for this appliance because quality & customer service has been deleted.

We have paid for 7 visits to have the door seals replaced since we bought the thing in 2006. At $110 dollars a pop and repair costs amounting to $180 each trip, we could have bought a new fridge. The shelving runners are really cheap plastic and break if you look at them so our drawers are tilted. I will never ever buy another LG. The parts are extortionate to replace and hard to get. I purchased what appeared to be an attractive French Door Refrigerator from Best Buy for over $2,000. After less than 2 years, all the door bins are cracked and about to literally fall off the doors. In addition, the freezer tray drawer is deteriorating and plastic pieces are breaking off and falling onto the food in the freezer drawer below. The drawer almost doesnt work now. We also purchased an extended warranty (Geek Squad) for another $249 but when I called them, they said that these items are not covered, because they do not affect the refrigerators ability to cool! I have more than 35 years in the plastics industry and know for a fact that these parts are failing because of a combination of poor product design and poor material selection. Its too bad I didnt read this blog before I purchased an LG refrigerator, and I strongly warn against buying their products. And I will never again purchase a Geek Squad warranty (who subcontracts their appliance claims to N.E.W.).

Sears Kenmore model no. 79577312600 made by LG, is what Ive been told by an appliance dealer. We were watching TV and noticed what smelled like plastic burning coming from the kitchen. When we opened the door to the refrigerator, the smell was real bad and the control panel was hanging down from the top of refrigerator. Upon diagnosis, we found that the lights had never shut off. Im no engineer, but as a 26-year veteran volunteer firefighter, this just doesnt seem safe. If we hadnt been home, my house would have burned down, I think its a possibility. Purchased LG Smooth Top Model LRE30463T January 2010. Since purchase clicking sound when baking and using smooth top at same time. Had service repair done under warranty and reset oven control temp. This continued and in December the large top burner stopped completely. Contacted LG and was told it was not covered under their 5 year warranty unless it was a burned out element but even at that we were responsible for service call and labor. Contacted a service rep and was checked and told it was the main board. LG website was down so he contacted us today to inform us that total cost would be almost $500.00. We paid over $1000 for this stove in 2010. 3 years of problems and nothing we can do but junk it, buy a new stove or continue to use with 3 burners. LG is junk. Value is worthless. Never again. Will go back to Whirlpool.

LG Dryer Model DLEX3570W. I purchased this dryer less than 2 years ago. From the beginning it has made noises off and on and the drying times were not long enough to completely dry the clothes. Apparently the sensors dont really work, it is by time only and I have to go to manual dry to finish. My biggest complaint is the lint screen and compartment that it is housed in. The lint screen would stick up just a little on the right side and catch my clothes, some it has damaged. I finally found that the design of the compartment that the lint screen goes in has a design flaw. There are little cross sections that catch lint and build up which doesnt allow the screen to seat correctly. Once this happens the screen will be warped.I have to totally dismantle the compartment every 2-3 weeks to remove built up lint and force the lint screen down. I refuse to purchase a new lint screen because it will just happen again. However, all that being said, it is not just the damage to my clothes or the work of trying to keep the lint from building up around the design flaw. This is a fire hazard. I spoke with LG and they said they would send out a repair person but I would be responsible for the service. They have not redesigned the part so that is useless. I also have the LG matching washer, not crazy about that either. I will replace both of these and it will not be with an LG product. They dont stand behind their products and have zero customer service. If you have one of these dryers, beware!! They are a major fire hazard!!

After reading review after review on this site detailing the same issues I have had with my $3000 LG French door refrigerator, I will not waste time with detailing the issues I have had with this trash LG product. Same no-customer-service response from LG; the service company they gave us hasn’t worked for them for 2 years! We finally had to go directly to Home Depot to get a service repair person to come and look at our refrigerator. It has been two weeks without my refrigerator and hopefully it will get fixed today. But according to the other reviews that I read that may not be the last of my problems with this refrigerator. I am not hopeful. This is the second LG refrigerator that has had this problem; Home Depot, who has pretty decent Customer Service, replaced this same exact refrigerator one year ago. That refrigerator was only a year old when this exact same problems of the compressor going out occurred. The repairmen who are here today said they have been extremely busy lately repairing LG refrigerators with this problem! I am SO frustrated! I feel like someone has stolen thousands of dollars from me! DO NOT BUY LG PRODUCTS!!!

The first problem was (what I found out is very common) the pump broke. The hose had to be drained and the pump replaced. Paid for new pump from authorized LG repairman plus fee for his visit. Second problem, the dryer settings stopped working. No matter what settings were selected the dryer stopped at 20 minutes. Clothes were not dry. Now we can only use the Time Dry and Temperature selection. At least we can dry the clothes. Third, the washer stopped working. We tried following instructions from LG and nothing worked. They suggested calling their authorized repairman who would charge for the visit as well as parts, etc. All the blue lights blink but the washer will not choose a setting and doesnt start. We tried holding the start button down for 3-10 seconds. Song plays. Nothing happens. Still cannot select setting. Occasionally it is in a good mood and works normally--about 1 in 200 tries. The only way I have been getting it to wash clothes at all is by holding down the Start button at the same time as the Pause/Play button. Then IT selects a setting, usually Cotton, and the door locks and washer starts. All through cycle all lights blink including the orange one for Delayed Wash. Now nothing is happening but the blue lights for Start and Pause/Play come on, song plays and no selection, no start, no way to operate washer. We were told LG was the BEST brand. Lifes Good their commercials say. They should change them to LNG: Lifes Not Good because now we cant wash our clothes and drying must be done manually. THESE WERE VERY EXPENSIVE APPLIANCES. SHOULD HAVE GONE TO SEARS AND BOUGHT THE CHEAPEST ONES SO WE COULD REPLACE THEM WHEN THEY BREAK. Its cheaper than paying the authorized repairman to come out, pay for his visit and parts. All computerized and were told on the phone that the whole panel might need to be replaced. THAT WILL NEVER HAPPEN.

I bought my refrigerator (LG Refrigerator LFXC24726S/02 MODEL#502krpv10848) 8/17/2015 at Plessers in Babylon. I also purchased the extended warranty. Since I purchased the unit there was a problem with the motherboard computer within the year because it was covered under the manufacturers warranty. July 21, 2018 my refrigerator stopped working and I called the warranty and they sent Mr. Appliance out on 7/26/18. The first visit the repairman Rob said it was a Freon leak and they had to come back to determine where the leak was coming from. I had to reschedule and they came back on 8/1/18. The repairman Bob, said that it was the compressor that had to be ordered directly from LG. He said it could take awhile. I called last yesterday afternoon after repairman had left and every time I called it was a picked up and then a hang up all afternoon. I spoke with LG today and was hung up on. I have been without a refrigerator for almost 2 weeks and I have 3 teenagers with no fridge. We are living out of coolers! I have called LG, NEW LEAF (warranty company), Mr. Appliance, and the retailer Plessers. Everyone keeps passing the buck and doesnt take responsibility. They all seem to feel that its normal to be without a refrigerator for 2 weeks plus! I was told by Mr. Appliance it could take a couple of weeks to get the compressor and then I have to call for another appointment to have it installed. This is totally unacceptable! I want a loaner or a new refrigerator! I will NEVER buy from PLESSERS or an LG appliance again.

The appliances in my kitchen, dishwasher, stove and refrigerator, are all solid black and not stainless steel black and LG. My dishwasher has a stainless steel interior and is extremely quiet. When the cover is over the sink where the disposal connected as well as the dishwasher it can not be heard at all, absolutely no sound. It is a Direct Drive system which has various wash cycles, sanitary, extra dry, extra rinse and delay cycle. It also has a child lock which I found useful around my grandchildren. I would strongly recommend the dishwasher if you have small children.

We own a french door LG with Ice in the door. The box worked flawlessly for the first two years. Since then it has been nothing but a long effort to get the ice maker to work. There have been no less than 10 service calls trying to fix the ice maker. They replaced PC boards, ice makers, ice dispensers etc etc. The final fix was a motherboard, ice controller board and a new door. This repair lasted about 3 weeks and then the box quit making cold and we lost all the food. The service company that provided the repairs was competent enough, but the box is just a piece of junk. We had a terrible time just getting repair service for the last failure. According to our service contract we should have been given a new box after the third repair. I have called them time and again and cannot get them to move on replacing the box. I cannot tell you how utterly frustrating it has been to get this box repaired. We were given a loaner box from Home depot after the LG quit entirely. The box is not working and we still have the loaner from Home Depot. Hurrah, for Home Depot. My only words for anyone who buys an LG is you better have another fridge and you better buy a good service contract.. Forget about an ice maker, they just dont work.

We bought this LG fridge in 2015. By 2019, the compressor had to be replaced as we got the “FF” error. Apparently this means “Freezer Fan” but LG never replaced the fan. Now in 2021, I fought in vain for LG to pay for the freezer fan failure which happened again. They should have changed the fan in 2019 itself when the unit was under warranty. Having paid for the freezer fan mused and losing all my food, now the compressor has failed again. The executive department of LG - no one is even answering the phone. Voice of the customer/ office of the President is a joke. They don’t care about customer sentiment and bulldoze you. I complained to Texas Attorney General earlier in 2021 During the freezer fan fiasco. Then LG offered to pay $275 which I denied as it didn’t cover the cost of repairing the fan. Now the compressor from 2019 is broke again. No one to talk to at LG! Pathetic.

14-month-old drain hose ruptured, service call repair at my costs. A year later drain pump burned out and ruined many clothes as they mildewed and that smell does not come out. Now another year later, washer just continues to fill with water, tried to turn power off with power button but power would just keep turning itself back on, even with power secured water kept coming. Had to shut off water supply, costing more than this washer is worth. Could have bought cheap washer for the cost of repairs and been ahead. Washer not worth the money or cost of repairs with continual breakdowns. You are welcome to contact me. Thank you.

Bought a LG topload washer and dryer on Feb 21, 2014, on March 21, 2015 the circuit board fried. I contacted LG and they had given me the extended warranty, so kudos for them for that. From there the bottom drops out. For over a week they said that no repair shop would come and fix it because I lived too far out, I looked them up and there were two within 10 miles of me. Finally I asked them what address they had, for some reason they had an address that we hadnt lived at in over 7 years. Got that fixed and a week later the repair guy shown up for 10 minutes to tell me that the board is fried and they will have to order one. So they order it and they deliver the wrong part, he calls LG and orders again, explains to them what he needs. They send exactly the same part, so he opens a claim. That was over two weeks ago, I have called them at least 3 times a week only to be told that they have to order the part, but they cant tell me when they will get it. They have put me on hold for over 30 minutes, hung up on me while I was explaining to them what was going on. It has been a nightmare, just got off the phone with LG and the guy was very nice and apologetic, and said he will escalate it, but I have been told that several times. We now have a $900.00 paper weight sitting in our laundry room and LG has been no help. They gave us the extended warranty, but it is looking like that was just to appease us as they cannot tell me when it might get fixed. Never buy LG again. Have no idea where to go from here, but wait more.

Purchased my LG fridge in Oct. of 2011. The first service call we had to have was in May 2012. The fan in the freezer that blows the cold air through the unit was not working, and the fridge was not getting cold. The repairman basically said that the fan had slipped down the shaft and could not work. He repaired it at that time, which lasted until Sept. of 2012. At that point, it happened again, and the motor on the fan burned up, and had to be replaced. We took his advice and purchased an extended warranty through LG. The third time the fan malfunctioned was in July of 2013. It sounded like a weed eater was inside my freezer. LG premium care set up a service call for Aug. 22, but the repairman cancelled because he had no record of my extended warranty, and we refused to pay his $150 service call fee up front. I contacted LG again, and they set up another appointment on Aug. 30. The repairman replaced the fan motor again, which didnt fix anything. The next service call was set up for Sept. 10. This time we had two servicemen show up. Upon opening up the fan unit, we were informed that the previous repairman had forgotten to reset the unit. We have gone a month and a half without a refrigerator, and have lost food constantly. I dont feel that I should have to keep buying $150 extended warranties each year to repair their defective unit again and again. Please advise me of my rights and options on this matter.

Bought a new white side by side LG refrigerator about 1 1/2 years ago from a local big box retailer. The plastic trim pieces around the electronic controls/water dispenser/ice dispenser have turned yellow. The refrigerator is bright white and the large bezel and drain plate is now a disgusting yellow. I first tried to resolve the matter with an online chat representative who was absolutely clueless. She couldnt even figure out what parts they were on her schematic. She finally gave up and had me complete an online upload form with pictures that I had to take. She said she would call me back after I uploaded the form. I uploaded the form with pictures and after two days no response. So I did another online chat with another agent. I gave her my case number and all she said is Sorry its out of warranty. She gave me the phone number of their parts distributor for the Eastern USA and the girl who answered the phone instantly put me on hold and never came back. This is ridiculous! The trim pieces are about $180.00. So, dont ever buy a white LG refrigerator and if you would like customer assistance on their product - Dont buy an LG Refrigerator.

I purchased this LG fridge in 2014 and was very pleased with it till this past week when it has been nothing but an issue. Out of the blue it completely lost all power, no lights, no display panel, no fans or compressor. We had to throw all all the food that we had purchased for the holidays. I called LG customer support and was very disappointed, as all they could do was ask me to try another outlet and then try to charge me $125 just to have someone come look at it. They recommended a local service that was approved by them, so I called and scheduled an appointment. They came out and replaced the PCB and the power came back and the fridge and freezer appeared to be working fine. After 48 hrs the Fridge still had power but everything thawed out and all the ice melted making a mess in the fridge and on the floor. Not to mention, the second batch of food that had to be thrown out because we filled the fridge after 24 hrs when it appeared to be working. When I called customer support, they were zero help and told me I had to deal with the repair service that made the repair. Of course it was a weekend so I had wait another two days. When I got in touch with the repair company they told me that if it was a sealed system or compressor issue, they could diagnose it but were not authorized to repair it. So basically I wasted my money, because the repair company that LG told me to call is not authorized to make the repair. When I called LG customer service back, all they told me was that they could schedule another LG repair person to come out, which I would have to pay another $125 for, to diagnose and make the repairs. I complained about having to pay another fee when if they referred me to the correct repair service to begin with, I wouldnt have had to pay the second fee. Their response was just that they were sorry and there wasnt anything they could do. After complaining and continuing to ask to speak to someone else I was put on hold and when they came back, they told me all they could do was file a formal complaint to upper management about the incorrect referral but I was assured there was no guarantee anything would happen or that I would even receive a followup call to resolve the complaint.I was very upset to find out that this seems to be a common issue with these LG fridges. A quick search on the internet and speaking to the repair service, they see multiple calls a week on these LG Fridges due to bad PCB and or compressor failures. It is nice that LG warranties the compressor for 10 yrs, however its, disturbing that they all seem to fail before 10 yrs and the warranty doesnt cover the labor or help with the hardship and loss of money as a result of the fridge failing to work. The worst part of the experience has been the support from LG. Im not a qualified technician but Im pretty handy and can diagnose most problems. When talking with LG customer support they have zero interest in hearing the symptoms and the troubleshooting that has been done to try to work through the issue. As soon as they are done with their pre-determined check list of questions, they quickly rush you off the phone to schedule a repair man to come out which of course they charge you for.

Now the compressor starting device went out, and none of the appliance parts places can locate it. I even called LG parts, and they are clueless. The washer keeps tripping GFI which indicates a current leakage problem, that is, a DESIGN PROBLEM. Local techs and LG keep writing this up as an electrical breaker tripping which is a problem of shorting out, or over-amping, not current leakage. GFI breakers are required by electrical code in areas where water is present. The local techs and LG want to solve this problem by removing the GFI, thus violating electrical code in order to make their product work. Current leakage design problems dont improve, they get worse over time, further endangering customer safety.

I called PC Richards to repair the machine as I bought the extended warranty. The machine is leaking from the bottom and it sounds like a lawn mower!! PC Richards was horrible. I have an elderly mother I care for who is on Hospice. When I asked how long until a repair operator can come out to fix they said a week or 2!!! That is ridiculous. I have water in my house and I cant use the washer. I have 6 people with no clean laundry. I spent over a $1000.00 for this machine and the best PC Richards can do is say it is what it is. I am truly disappointed with my LG washer model WT487OC. I purchased it approx 61 months ago, and yes my 48 months protection plan expired. The machine began to exhibit a problem 3 months ago when after a wash load, there was a noticeable debris on the damp clothing which led to concerns before drying the load. After a few calls to LG Customer Service and a discussion with Rocket Appliance Repair who LG suggested I call. It was determined that the machine somehow had developed mold internally. I tried over 10 different options that LG & THEIR REPAIR SERVICED suggested I attempt, but to no avail. The machine was considered unrepairable. In over 40 years of cleaning and purchasing household appliances I have never experienced anything like this. I will never buy LG appliances again, and any I presently own I will seek replacements for as soon as possible.

Our LG French door refrigerator stopped cooling as noticed on a Thursday evening. The next day, Friday, early in the morning, I tried to reach the LG call repair centre but I was put on hold. I waited holding the phone to my ear for about 10 minutes. Then I called Corbeil Appliances in Ottawa and I was told that I might have to wait on hold for at least a half hour. This is not acceptable. I did try calling the LG repair centre again throughout the morning but again I was put on hold. Then finally on that same Friday afternoon, someone answered at the LG call repair centre. I was then booked in for service the following Thursday which is about one week of waiting without a refrigerator to cool foods and medicines. This LG repair call centre and service is not acceptable. We have an extended warranty which fortunately was still in effect. The LG service technician was professional and repaired our LG refrigerator. He appreciated our frustration at trying to book an appointment to have our refrigerator repaired. In the future, I dont think I will consider buying another LG product as long as reviews re: booking a service repair, remain negative. I will also recommend to friends that they read the LG repair call centre reviews before they consider purchasing an LG product. Come on, LG product personnel, improve your LG repair call centre customer service!

Four years ago we purchased LGs glass top range for $899. Its now 2015 and the largest burner element is already dead. For that amount of money this thing should last at least 10 years or more. They sure dont make things like they used to! Repair of the burner is within the measly five-year warranty (this should have been my red flag before buying), but honestly who wants to go through the hassle? Well probably have better luck fixing it ourselves than dealing with an inept service rep. Update on 12/07/2019: I wrote on here about a LG REFRIGERATOR that failed in 4 years. LG responded and asked me to send private message and they would help. I was pretty impressed but no one has contacted me in 5 days. Meanwhile I am without a fridge. I guess to them not a big deal but I would think the average reviewer would understand the impact and urgency of being without. I also have not got contacted about someone coming out to repair. Appt canceled and after 5 days no idea on status. LG, UNEXPECTEDLY LOSING A FRIDGE IS A HUGE PROBLEM FOR A FAMILY. If you want follow on business, act with some sense of urgency to support your products. Week 1 without a refrigerator.Original Review: I bought an LG refrigerator 4 years ago and experienced a failure day after Thanksgiving. Got stuck on hold for over 30 minutes first day but got a hold of LG pretty quickly on Monday morning. They have a known compressor issue. They did offer to have someone come out. Would replace compressor if that is issue but there are no service folks near me even though I live in Bloomington INDIANA with a population of about 50000 to 80000 [when students are here). Best Buy sold me the fridge and they could care less. Lesson learned. So I will have to wait another 3-5 business days to even talk about an appointment. Meanwhile no fridge. So I will call it a loss. No more appliances from Best buy and no more LG products. But an expensive, inconvenient lesson unfortunately. It might have gotten resolved faster if I lived in a metropolitan area. I expect much more than 4 years from a refrigerator and I would not expect to need to pay $300 for an extended warranty. I paid $1399 on a Black Friday deal. The fridge was not loud, worked ok until it failed, ice maker wasnt great and ice got stuck in chute often.

We purchased the LG Model # LDF7774WW just a few months ago and from the very first wash we noticed that it would not clean the dishes properly, even though I am in the habit of rinsing off the dishes under running water with a dish scrub brush before putting them in the dishwasher. Also, there is a setting for heated water on the panel. It clearly shows the temperature of 160 degrees. However, after suspecting this claim, I tested the water mid-wash with two distinctly different thermometers, one electronic, the other mechanical. Both thermometers showed readings of between 110 degrees and 109.4 degrees. This washer is simply designed to be inferior. Our past GE dishwasher would superheat the water to the point where you could get a mild burn if you were not careful removing metal items from the washer at the end of the cycle. With LG, the dishes feel a little warmer than room temp at the end of the cycle. Avoid this brand and especially this model. It is garbage.

We purchased an LG washer. I love the fact that without the middle paddle you can wash large items like king size spreads and comforters and all the clothes actually are treated more gently. I do not like buying new if the old is still working. Being able to get parts and having really good people who can and will work to keep the old model going. Regular repairs is a nightmare. Been there and done that, days without your appliance and you have to wash most days to keep the family in clean clothes and towels etc. Also low quality construction, which usually means noise pollution and the appliance walking all over the floor or pulling loose from the connections and the room being flooded. This LG washer that I bought was the same price as for the Maytag that I had purchased 20 years before. It is high quality construction, stays where it is supposed to when it spins. Large size drum that washes very small loads with much less soap and water, or very large items like winter coats, king size bedding, comforters, etc. One thing I do not like is that everything rinses in cold water no matter which setting you use, and I like to be able to decide what temperature I want for the wash cycle and the temperature I want for the rinse. But all in all, that is the only thing I do not like about these computer controlled washers.

DO NOT BUY LG APPLIANCES. They are unable to provide adequate service and repair. SAVE YOURSELF $1000S OF DOLLARS. BUY AMERICAN.

LG WM3670HWA - Bought a new washer ($650) and installed in May 2017. Recently experienced squeaking noises during the spin cycle. Called LG. They sent out a technician to look at the machine. LG charged me $125 for the service call. The tech said that the rear bearing was defective. The cost to fix was estimated to be $500. However, the technician told me that LG discontinued the parts needed to fix the washer, so he couldnt fix it even if he wanted to. So I spent $650 on a washer and another $125 on a service call, to find out that a 14 month old washer is junk and cannot be repaired.I called LG to try and resolve the issue. They refused to do anything AT ALL. I wasnt asking for a new washer or anything like that. I requested that they at least waive the $125 service call, since the washer couldnt be fixed. They refused to waive the service fee and gave me no concession on anything. It was really great at the end of the call to hear, Have a wonderful day! Seriously!!?? I never write reviews, but had to vent on this one. My bad for not buying an extended warranty, but theyre bad for not even stocking parts to fix their lousy products. I will never buy an LG product again. I feel completely ripped off.

Have a three year old product that is off warranty. Purchased at Home Depot. Called to find out who repairs product in our area as water is surging out the bottom of the door. I was advised in our town of 70000 plus people no one repairs LG products. I contact LG: I have to pay from some to come from out of town to fix dishwasher. I contacted a number of local companies they stated they do not work on LG products because to poor customer service from LG and it is hard to get parts.

We bought a beautiful looking top loading LG washer and dryer from Sears in Eureka, California in September 2011 for our second home in Humboldt County. We didnt purchase an extended warranty - although looking back, we should have done so. Because the appliances are installed in a second home (to this date, April 2013), they have been used about 12 times total.Suddenly, during a visit to this second home in mid-February, the dryer quit drying; there was no heat at all. We did the trouble-shooting with LG Customer Service to no avail. Then we contacted Sears to arrange for a repair. We returned to the home at the end of March, and the repairman came to the house. His analysis showed that the heating element needs to be replaced, which he had to order. As the repairman was leaving, he told us that he is about the only one in the area who will tackle fixing LG appliances because they are so poorly made. He mentioned that our washer is probably on a recall list. Sure enough, the washer - Serial Number (WT5001CW) is on the LG recall list. So now, I am attempting to make sure that the only repairman in the whole area who will touch LG appliances is prepared and scheduled to come to our second home when we can schedule ourselves to be there and can fix both appliances! It is hard to believe that these appliances are so poorly made, that they both are broken after having been used a handful of times! They look great but apparently are pieces of crap; and they cost a lot of money. What is the matter with these corporations and their quality control? Do these people really think I will ever buy another LG appliance again? And is it really worth the (certainly temporary) health of their bottom line to continue to sell these shoddy products? And what else do disgruntled customers do? They tell everyone they know about their negative experience with these products. Shame on LG!

Where do I start. I have the top loading, no agitator, wave force. It uses too much electricity figuring out load weight. It doesnt clean the clothes well. The bleach dispenser has ruined many towels. If I interrupt a cycle to add an item (during that time the machine allows you), it screws up the machine on how much water to add so it fills the tank completely full. Contacting the company is a joke. The repairman tells me everythings normal (hes probably in a hurry to go to the next complaint of LG washers. The feature I have allows me to put my phone up to it so LG can hear the beeps and tones for a diagnose - DOESNT WORK (hence the repairman). I extended my warranty to three years. Problem with that is when they tell you nothing is wrong, your warranty is useless. Im sorry for anyone who buys LG! I hope you see the negative reviews and run the other way.

I had an LG refrigerator and and I wanted a replacement one that would match my stove and microwave. There are some things I’m not happy with. The temperature control doesnt seem to be as good as it was on the other one. I have a separate temperature gauge and many times, it isn’t as cold as it should be. I even had somebody come out to the house and it hasn’t made a difference. The fridge is fine as far as where the shelves are, but I am not happy.

Updated on 05/02/2021: This is my second review on the same LG electric ran
Updated on 05/02/2021: This is my second review on the same LG electric range. This range has not worked correctly since the first month or two after we bought it! The temperature is NEVER at the correct temperature, the fan never stops blowing even though it’s in regular bake so that every baked good comes out too dark, and the cleaning feature has NEVER worked correctly. I have contacted LG and after them blowing me off the first time, I came here to warn people away from this garbage LG range. LG finally, after contacting me because of my first review, had two different repair companies come to my house. The first company had made seven appointments to attempt to see what was wrong. Four different repairmen came and each one gave us a different story and ordered the wrong parts, resulting in them having to order something else and come at a later date. The second company sent one repairman and he replaced some parts also and it seemed ok, but it’s still all over the place temperature wise and the fan never goes off, still!I do not use the convection setting, the fan should not be burning the tops of my food. This supposed attempt at LG repairing their defective appliance has been going on (this time) since November 2020. As soon as I can afford it, I’m buying a new range and rolling this one down the driveway for the garbage man. People, stay away from LG’s electric ranges, especially this model.Original Review: My LG electric range is only about 18 months old and I really think I wasted my money. I’ve cleaned it a few times a year and all it does is blow all of the dirty stuff onto the door and I always have a layer of black burnt on mess that I have to soak off. The gasket around the door is severely stained from the black gunk that just gets baked on as the oven cleans. I called LG about a year ago and they argued with me and told me to clean the gasket myself when the owner’s manual states not to. When I told the person which page to go to in the manual, they put me on hold forever. When they came back they said they would send out a new gasket that I could install myself. The gasket has yet to arrive, and the promised call-back from a supervisor never happened.Today, I cleaned my oven again and, yep, I’m soaking of the black layer with baking soda and water, the gasket is even more stained now. The oven fan seems to run non-stop, as if it is on convection not regular bake. I’m so disappointed and embarrassed that I proudly announced that I had just bought an LG range in the beginning. How can companies keep their business with such an inadequate level of customer service and defective products? I guess I’ll just be one of the crowd that I didn’t know existed until I searched for possible answers to this defective range’s issues. Never, never, never, again, LG! Keep your junk. My $1000 Whirlpool Gold could run laps around this piece of garbage, I wish I’d never replaced it.

The tubes in the back for the water and ice maker have sprung leaks 4 times in 8 years. The repairman says that the tubes are too small in diameter. Other makes make them larger. But it has cost me $75 to $100 every time I have to have them repaired. I would not ever buy another LG refrigerator.

Bought an LG WT5070CW several years ago because of the extra large capacity. My old LG front loader died after 10+ years and since we had a good experience with their washers we went with another. That was the biggest mistake ever! We have a very large family and laundry can get behind fast. It takes a half a day sometimes to wash 1 load of laundry due to the UE code and our inability to get it to balance. Im way behind now and have had to resort going to the laundromat. After thinking about it, with the money we spent at the laundromat, I could have bought a better washer. If I could give it no stars I would. Never again and after reading some of the other reviews I may never buy another LG product. There is obviously no reason to contact the company either after reading reviews though I have sent an email to complain about this washer. The only thing it is good for is scrap metal.

We purchased a Refrigerator 3 years ago $1500 as a wedding gift for our daughter. It stopped working 2 weeks ago and we have been on the phone with LGs customer service for 2 weeks with no help. They say they escalated it but cant find a company to come service us. We called and found a company who is LG approved 30 miles away and they said they can come service it but that they did not get a request from LG. I have been on the phone today for an hour and half and they will not let me talk to anyone. They also said they dont know who they sent the service request to. But said they have escalated it AGAIN. My daughter has a 1 year old that needs milk and food. My daughter also has a blood disorder and has to keep 3-shots on hand at all times in her refrigerator for emergencies. They each cost $500! We will never purchase anything from LG again. This is the worst customer service I have ever dealt with.

I will NEVER purchase a LG product. My sister purchased a brand new refrigerator and it stopped working properly after 2 weeks. Around week two she started getting an error code on the freezer control panel and the door alarm started ringing even when the fridge and freezer were closed. She contacted LG and they promised to send out a technician. The first technician came out could not fix the issue and said the door had to be replaced. She waited another two weeks for the door to arrive. The tech came back out to replace the door. Within 2 hours of the technician leaving, the error code returned. She contacted LG once again and a tech was sent out. He said another part needed to be ordered, a month went by before the part arrived. After receiving the part she had to call LG once again and was promised the tech would return. That never happened. She has scheduled two appointments since then and the technician has failed to show. This has been dragging on for three months and the issue still is not resolved. The customer service reps in the warranty departments have poor dispositions and the bottom line is she spent over $1500 for a refrigerator that stopped working properly after 2 weeks. I dont understand why LG has not fixed or replaced the refrigerator. Why is it so hard to get something to simply do what you paid for it to do? LG why have you not resolved the issue? Buyers beware, because this surely could be you.

LG LMX225964 French Door refrigerator - I wish I could rate this product as a minus 100. I have never made a worse appliance purchase and will NEVER buy LG again. This French door refrigerator is less than 6 years old (purchased from BrandsMart) and for the last 1 1/2 years Ive received Error IF every couple of months. This means the ice maker fan is frozen (AGAIN) and I have to remove all food from the refrigerator and freezer, put it in the garage refrigerator, and thaw out the unit. Although this process is reminiscent of an older, simpler time it is more than aggravating. I would replace the ice fan assembly but that part is no longer available and there is no replacement part (so much for making repair parts available for 7 years). LG lost a large class action lawsuit on a number of models having a similar problem, but alas my model was not included. (The law firm that handled that case is Callahan, Thompson, Sherman Caudill LLP, http://ctsclaw.com.) This may be the weekend I finally test-drive the sledgehammer on this poor excuse of a refrigerator.

LG WaveForce TrueBalance anti-vibration system Model #WT5101HV, Product Cod
LG WaveForce TrueBalance anti-vibration system Model #WT5101HV, Product Code #T1309ADFH6.ASSEEUS. Bought washer & matching dryer 11/27/2010 with 5 year extra warranty on both. Three years of hell! Large-capacity washer that simply WILL NOT BALANCE, but will instead of sounding a buzzer that it is OFF BALANCE, will just restart the countdown timer as it REFILLS with WATER and starts the rinse cycle... again and again and again. Found out the hard way one time 5 hours later that it was still restarting the rinse cycle because it could not balance itself, yet it had never once sounded with the buzzer. Yes, the buzzer can work on occasion, but the load has to be very off balance. When I first got it and the countdown timer reset and the rinse cycle started again, I mistook that it was just part of the machines normal operation, but there is nothing normal for the waste of water and the amount of time I spend standing in front of the washer trying to catch it before it resets AND the amount of time I spend rearranging the load to try and balance it in the tub to the machine balance sensors satisfaction... up to 30 minutes at a time moving heavy wet clothes around or removing them by hand to place one on this side and one on that side... endless aggravation. Even if I use the lowest spin and step it up to the highest spin, it will not balance. If you dont use the highest spin cycle (or step up from low to high) it takes nearly 2 hours to dry clothes on the 2nd highest spin cycle. The factory recall notice that I received was merely an insult to the problem because it does not address the ACTUAL issue -- which is that it will not balance. Instead, the recall wants to tell me not to wash raincoats or such nonsensical how to or not to use the machine properly. It will not balance with: ONLY pants or ONLY shirts or ONLY towels or ONLY pajamas. The bigger the load in this large-capacity washer, the bigger the balance problem. If I wash a tiny load like socks, it might actually finish the load all by itself once-in-a-while, but why have a LARGE-CAPACITY washer if it is useless? If you mix shirts and pants, be prepared to untangle the biggest wet knots you have ever seen! I stopped using the low-water features a long time ago when my clothes did not clean properly, so I now use the Bulky/Bedding setting, which fills the tub with water. When I used the low-water features, the balance problem was exactly the same. I always keep the door open when not in use, so it does not stink itself up and requires special tub cleaning. I have only had to clean it once. Since the normal way this company has responded to the myriad of consumer complaints is even more impossible than dealing with the product, I see no reason to play their game of endless service calls when NO SERVICEMAN CAN POSSIBLY REDESIGN A FLAWED APPLIANCE. I have not heard of any service call fixing this models problems. I bought a 5-year service policy with 2 years left. This machines design is a lemon, so where is the companys restitution to us consumers? I dont want the upgraded software because it takes away wash settings and spin RPMs that I bought in the first place. A recall that is stone-cold useless and removes some original wash (gentle) and spin (extra high) variations is their restitution, so consumer take heed.

Purchased an expensive french door refrigerator in 2015. In 2016 the motherboard went out and we were out of a refrigerator for 2 weeks. Was advised to purchase the extended warranty to lower the repair cost (to $300). Now, in 2017, the compressor is out and we are again without a fridge for a week and lost all our food. The kicker? The compressor is under a 10 year warranty but only for the $160 part. LG is still charging me $400 for labor. Its their flat fee for warranty work, regardless of how long it takes. They overcharge for the labor to cover the cost of all the parts they have to replace. This fridge has cost me ~$1,000 is service and lost food and its only 3 years old. Spoke with supervisor Donald and he was rude, interrupted me constantly, and flatly refused to provide any customer to lower the labor charge since Ive had so many problems with this fridge. He told me to call other techs and see what they would charge--I have. No one else will work on LG fridge compressors because they fail too often. Im filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and sending a letter to the corporate office. I encourage everyone here who is a victim of LG to do the same. We purchased a top load LG Wave Force about 5 years ago. For the past few years, I have noticed brown flakes on my clothes, especially white ones that I need to hang dry. The multiple times I have called LG to complain about the brown flakes on my clothes, they said no one has complained about such flakes. I had a repair guy come out and he took the metal piece out from the inside of the washer. The underside was so disgusting with nasty brown slime. He said there is no way to get the drum out without dismantling the entire washing machine, which he did not recommend. I scrubbed the metal piece he removed and took a soft brush to the underside of the barrel through the inside of the washer. I was never able to get all of the gunk out but it did get better. Now it is back to how it was before with nasty gunk again. I clean the washer every week with Lemi-Shine. I have tried everything. I hate this washer. It has ruined so many of my clothes with brown gunk stains. And the fact that LG says no one has ever complained about this issue is a lie. Two of my best friends have the same issue. I hate hate hate this washer and LG for not keeping track of the people reporting the EXACT same issue I am having. Do NOT buy this washer or the Kenmore version of it.

Our LG washing machine exploded and imploded in less than three years. The outside walls of the machine are bent out and the inside components fell to the bottom of the machine. The machine moved 1-2 feet away from the wall and could have hurt our dog and gone through the opposite wall if we were not home. We are on our third case type number to track this situation. The number does not work to upload the sales slip for the third time in their system.Today was my fifth call to LG and I was on hold for 14 minutes to try to resolve the systems issue and have finally given up. LG made us have a service call to have the situation assessed and did not pay for the service. LG was told that there was no way the machine could be fixed and wed sent pictures to prevent the service call. The service person called LG and told them that hes never seen such damage to an LG machine. We are now determining the best approach to resolve this issue particularly with the safety concern. We are also getting rid of LG dryer due to our concerns.

Purchased the complete LG black stainless kitchen set up for our newly constructed home. Appliances were purchased at Sears and delivered by them to our new home. Microwave was badly damaged off the truck so it was reordered (Sears fault). Dishwasher, Refrigerator, and Double oven were not damaged as we examined the boxes for exterior crushing or creases. The dishwasher leaked like a sieve the first time we used it!! My husband checked to make sure all hoses were attached properly and all fittings were tight. We could not use the dishwasher at all as it leaked so badly it was ruining our new flooring and leaking into our basement.I took a video as we pulled out the unit and ran it and it was obvious that the leak was coming from the back of the unit. LG repair came over and determined that it was damaged at delivery! I still had the box. No damage to the unit during delivery. LG refused after months and months and pic after pic sent to their US offices and their South Korean offices. This unit was dropped and creased across the back during manufacturing and they kept telling me that it was Sears fault. I could not, in good conscience, blame Sears as I had personally examined the box when it arrived at our home. After 10 mos. of arguing with LG, I went to the local Sears store where we had purchased not just the 4 LG appliances, but a beer fridge, for the basement and a freezer for the basement as well totaling more than $11,000 in one purchase. We had also purchased appliances from them in the past. The new store manager, upon hearing my story from the saleswoman from whom we purchased our appliance, made it right. I told him that I never relented on the story that it was not Sears fault but a manufacturers defect. He appreciated my honesty with LG and replaced the dishwasher.Moving on now to the microwave. After finally receiving the new microwave 3 months after the other appliances were delivered. It was only 5 mos. before the digital display started acting wacky. Then the microwave worked intermittently. Again, I called LG. They assured me that they do not have manufacturing defects as their quality control is above reproach. I said, Great sent me a repairman as it is under warranty. Scott, from LG, ordered a new door which contained all the inner workings of the unit but it was the wrong color. He reordered, came by and replaced it only to find it didnt work either as a week later it was acting like the door he just replaced. Finally Scott was able to get the right door and it works. That process took 2 months.Just before Thanksgiving, 2017, we noticed just under the handle of our new refrigerator, the paint was peeling off of the black stainless finish. It is not an area of the door that we touch regularly or even at all except to wipe down. After the holiday, I sucked it up and called LG once again. LG in South Korea told us the warranty was up on the refrigerator and there was nothing they could do. I told her to take a look at the history on our previous appliance issues and that it may be time for us to possibly file suit with the company as now its 3 out of 4 of their garbage products that have caused us no end of grief and that Sears has documentation and I have pictures and other paperwork accumulated over the year from hell since we made the purchase of their products. She put me on hold!Scott came into our lives once again and ordered a new door and installed as we decorated our Christmas tree! I thanked him and told him that our oven would probably go afoul soon and we may see him again. He answered questions I had about the knobs on the front of our LG stove that when bumped, turn on without you knowing and have emitted gas. My worry is that I will bump a knob and be on my way out rather than the 3 times it happened while we were home and smelled the gas fumes. Scott said there was some kind of kit we could get to prevent the problem. Why didnt LG tell us that at some point. I will order it as soon as I finish this post to assure the safety of our home and family. Please do not purchase appliances from LG! They are dishonest in their dealings and lied to us over and over and I have it documented. Some of their local repair affiliates are hand in hand with them and lie for them without doing their work. They walk in and determine it was someone elses fault and tell you to go after them. Sears in North Olmsted, OH made the situation with the dishwasher they sold us right. I cannot thank them enough. Sears has a contract with LG and other manufacturers that says that Sears repair may not touch LG products that are under warranty. They are not allowed to look at your appliance if it is under LGs warranty or the warranty becomes null and void. The consumer is at the mercy of the manufacturer as we were and the manufacturer, LG, is dishonest in their dealings.

Consumers beware when purchasing an LG appliance! If you are remotely mechanically inclined and prefer to save money and repair things yourself, LG is not the manufacturer for you. A little over a year ago LG decided that they will not sell replacement parts to the general public forcing you to call an authorized service center to come to your house at your expense to repair your appliance no matter how small or simple a fix.Recently I needed to replace an $8 tumbler roller on our LG Tromm dryer that had worn and was making noise. It is about a 30 minute fix and requires a screwdriver and two wrenches. LG Canada nor any of its authorized service centers would sell me the part even though I had already removed it and was ready to install a new one. The parts are sold in the USA but every company that sells the part will not ship to Canada. My only options are to either bend to these unfair practices by LG or junk the dryer and buy a new one - albeit a different brand!

I like everything about my refrigerator – the style and the features. It had everything that I wanted. That was why I bought it but I will never buy LG anything again. I took out a warranty and tried to deal with LG on that. They sent a service that they use for repair but I went through three months of a freezer and refrigerator that did not work with Jessup’s Major Appliance Centers in Sarasota, Florida. They put in three different compressors and none of them worked. LG knew that they had a problem with the compressors. The repairman had been trying to fix them all over the state of Florida. I was told they were not gonna send their repairman out again after all that. But finally, they said they would come and put one more in. That fourth one finally worked. But they put me through hell. I even had to buy a little refrigerator. Thank God Jessup’s gave me one that I had to put on the carport and go outside to my refrigerator. But that was totally unbelievable customer service.

Even though we always have problems with the musty smell (while leaving the washing machine door open, emptying drain monthly, cleaning filter monthly, using bleach Time Cycle monthly up until the machine was 16 months old), the last 3 months we have had this random brown residue that streaks our clothes, stains our clothes and we cannot get it out.LG customer service has not been helpful, stating we should have called earlier with our complaints. I had to beg for a supervisor, who said he would try to get it covered to be seen by a technician by sending our complaint to a consultant. We are in the process of doing that currently. I am very disappointed with this machine from the get go.

Got an LG fridge 3 years and 1 month ago. Had to have someone come fix the ice machine about the 2 year mark and now its not cooling at all (fridge or freezer). Called warranty. They passed me along to the extended warranty where I had to diagnose the issue through a series of yes no problems. When I finally speak to someone they say they are ordering parts and the repair date is 1 week later. The repair day come with no contact. So I called to see if we are still scheduled and find out the parts are not in and it will be 4 more days before its fixed. 2 weeks to order parts and fix a 3 year old fridge. Next time I would rather get a new one from different company. Save time, stress, lost food and frustration by going with another brand.

The control knobs can be slightly bumped and the gas is turned on! This has happened several times in with our LG range. We have to reach above to get to our above the range LG microwave and bump the control knobs. Usually we notice the smell of gas pretty quick however one night my husband cleaned the kitchen and went to bed. I came home later that night, after a long day of work/travel, to find my house filled with gas! My husband and daughter were both upstairs asleep but THANK GOD they were okay. My husband likely bumped the knob when cleaning or reaching in the microwave. The control knobs are completely unsafe and are seriously life threatening! LG needs to recall these! Something needs to be done! PLEASE.

Updated on 09/03/2019: Please read and adhere to my review. I have had a technician out now 4 times. They finally decided to replace the compressor. When they did and left, they installed a faulty compressor that made my fridge actually heat up to 85 degrees. I called them and they came out last Friday and said yes, second compressor was bad. So I called today to ask where we go now, their response...We need to send out a technician to verify that the compressor is bad. I said, You came last Friday. LG said, Well he didn’t call us to report it so we need to send him out again and call us when he’s in front of the fridge. Mind you it’s been the same tech all 4 times and they want me to schedule him again, which takes 10 days wait every time. Please read the reviews and see how bad they are. I’m disgusted with this company.Updated on 08/29/2019: I am now one month without a fridge. Took them 5 calls and 2 weeks to get back. They finally sent a tech who vacuumed out my fridge and left. I called 5 more times and finally got them to come back 2 weeks later to put in a new compressor. Fridge is now screaming loud and has gone up 10 degrees. They want to send a technician a third time and I hung up. The tech said he has replaced 74 lg compressors....that’s from the technician. If you call their number it says, “Are you having a cooling problem….” Stay far away from this brand. We are a large family and living out of coolers in August with no answer in sight.Original Review: I bought a LG fridge 2 years ago. My refrigerator quit cooling so I called customer service. They told me they extended the warranty to five years and I would receive a call within 3-5 business days. I never received a call within the time frame. I called twice during that time to check and and I always got the same response that it would be escalated. On the sixth day they told me it was scheduled out two weeks. I explained that we are a family of five and that’s crazy. Then I received a text confirmation telling me that it was actually 3 weeks out before someone would come out, but they would escalate and nothing else they could do. Runaway from LG fridges. It’s the middle of summer and we had to throw everything away and living out of a cooler. They could care less.... Customer service is worse than the actual refrigerator.... You’ve now been warned. They are aware of the issue due to when you call the automated message says is your LG fridge not cooling? Junk!!

One month after purchase dishwasher would stop 20 minutes into cycle and display power failure. Called Customer service and told a visit from repair would happen next day. Never arrived and phone call to service center never responded. Dishwasher would complete cycle after restarting 2-3 times and now will not operate beyond 20 min. PF

We got our LG refrigerator about three years ago. I was very surprise when my wife said it stop working. We called LG and was told it would be $125 for a servicecall, plus labor. They sent a compressor out that morning before the service man got there. In talking with the guy he said they knew it was the compressor. It would $225 to fixed. He said he did three a day. The company know this is a problem.
