The ice machine motor that opens a small door to release the ice in the chute suddenly started and never stopped, making a constant clunk noise. The service technician said that a tiny wire broke at the hinge on top of the fridge due to the repeat opening and closing of the door. This a design problem and not really a wear and tear problem. He said when this happen again, the whole door will have to be replaced!! I called Samsung and the receptionist gave me a ticket number. I asked her Samsung email as I wanted to forward to them the technician report and invoice. I said Samsung should pay for this even if it is passed warranty. The receptionist disconnected.
I purchased a Samsung Dishwasher at Costco, Model # DW80K2021US. Samsung had its own warranty on it for one year and Costco was kind enough to place a two year warranty on it. I purchased it in June 2017 and it just quit on me October 2019. These should last longer than that but they are absolute junk. The water pump is gone, and it will cost at least $300 to fix - The dishwasher on sale was $499. Costco, please dont carry this junk or anything like it from Samsung. Costco will just get a bad rep from selling these bad products. Stay away from anything labelled Samsung.
Has everything I wanted plus more. Love being able to access my refrigerator from anywhere so I can know what I need while out. Being able to play music while cooking is amazing. There’s just so many features I love. Large capacity, LED, door open alarm etc etc. It’s amazing.
I bought a new refrigerator in 2009. The fan went out in the freezer leaving me with an unbearable noise that is constant. Best Buy warranty was extended to fix the problem, but less than a year and half later it is doing it again. I have never bought a fridge for over $1000.00 till now and I am so disappointed in this investment. My old fridge is doing better than this one. So much for upgrading.
Will never buy a product made by Samsung ever again. Purchased a fridge 4 years ago and had problems 2 months outside the warranty period. Called Samsung customer service. Was told that we would have to bear the cost ourselves. They will notify the technician and he will call us the same day. 3 days later no contact. Spoke with Samsung again... useless. Fan iced up and fridge stopped being cooled so all food went bad. The technician (we found ourselves) that serviced it said it was a design flaw and he had seen a lot of these problems in Samsung fridges. Samsung have no idea of customer service. Today our fridge finally died - both fridge and freezer too warm. Went out today and had to buy another fridge/freezer..... WILL NEVER RECOMMEND OR EVER BUY SAMSUNG PRODUCTS AGAIN.
I bought a brand new Samsung glass top/double oven, convection range 4 years ago. I paid a lot more than I usually do for appliances, thinking it would last the rest of my life. I bought the flat bottom pots they say to use, not knowing that if the bottom is aluminum, the burner would get hot enough to melt the bottom if the pot boiled dry. I ended up with aluminum melted into the top and a huge crack when it cooled. Samsung says no replacement top available, buy a new range. Customer service non-existent. Oven didnt hold temp either when baking.
I like the Samsung Refrigerator. I like the appearance, functionality and performance of the refrigerator. Ive only owned it for about 3 months, time will tell how Dependable it is.
I have this fridge for 1.5 years. Love the size, but milk is always going sour before the expiry date; cheese molding; and leftovers didnt last. Rationalized all these things - must be leaving the milk out too long, must have dirty kids hands touching the cheese, etc. Because the digital temperature reading said it was 34 deg in the fridge, it must be accurate right? Wrong! Verification by 3 separate mercury and digital thermometers show that the fridge compartment temp runs 40-50 deg and thats in winter (wonder how warm it had been running last summer!). This is everywhere in the fridge compartment, top shelf, bottom shelf, door, right next to the ice maker, etc. I cannot find any place in the fridge that runs less than 40 degrees. In hindsight, no wonder food was spoiling! The fridge programming will not allow the temperature to be set any lower than 34F. Service technician has replaced the main control board and the digital touch screen assembly. Have not resolved the problem. I phoned Samsung customer support and was only told that since the factory warranty is expired, they can and will do nothing. Suspecting a design flaw that they are aware of. I will update if ever fixed. Freezer and flex-drawer hold reasonable to programmed temperature (generally 2-6 degrees above programmed temp, sometimes 10 degrees higher), but those compartments have larger programming range. Can program the freezer to -8 and the flex-drawer to 29, so even if they run higher than programmed, it is OK for food storage. But even with fridge set as low as it will go (34), it still is too warm for safe food storage.
Over this past month, a horrible smell started emitting out of my 2-year-old Samsung French Door refrigerator. It smelled like a petrochemical --- nauseatingly sweet and very very susceptible to becoming airborne and stinking the whole house up. I emptied all the food out and it sat empty for a week and still stunk bad. Wiping it down did not help. The cooling functionality of both the fridge and the freezer parts was fine. I then turned it off for a week while I waited on Samsung to respond to my service call request. The phone call into Samsung did not go very well at all, with the service representative telling me emphatically that they do not have a 5-year warranty on this refrigerator, even though it is printed in Samsungs manual supplied with the unit. Only when I read the page off to her, did she relent and said that they did have a 5-year warranty, but only on key internal parts -- which I knew and had repeatedly told her. She did not want to schedule me for a diagnostic (which I would still have to pay the $89 basic fee no matter what), because Samsung does not warranty against odors. Though gritted teeth, I explained 5 times over that I was smelling a chemical smell of degraded plastic or Freon or some structural material... and we needed a service call to get to the root of the matter. When the Samsung technician arrived and took off the panel at the back inside wall of the refrigerator, where all the control mechanisms are, a black wad of goo tumbled out of the compartment. The technician stated that all of the mechanisms were working great. I pounced on the wad of goo that had bounced to the bottom of the fridge floor. Whats this stuff? He said it was a type of putty that goes around some of the controls to kind of cushion them. We glanced up at the coils and tubing in the innards of the controls, and I could see where the goo-putty had pulled away from a section leaving behind little remnants. I said to the technician, what if this happened.... What if the putty, once eroded away, slipped down to where it should not have been and reacted with an electrical heat-emitting part of the control panel, and the heat caused the goo to degrade and become airborne. He thought that intriguing, especially since everything else worked. The goo smelled bad like the odor... but then again, so had every container of food I had thrown away, the odor was so pervasive. The goo is in a ziploc now, and 3 days after technician, the smell has decreased significantly to just a linger. I am going to wipe it down again and put in baking soda. I think we got this. For clarity, the putty goo was a misshapen lump of coal-black squishy stuff about the size and consistency of a big chewed-up wad of Hubba Bubba bubblegum (dating myself here).
I had purchased Samsung Fridge Double Door RT36JSRZESP on May 15.05.2015. On 05.08.2016 the fridge stopped cooling. When registered complain service engineer who visited communicated that Compressor Pipe has leaked and thus eventually the Compressor Gas has leaked. This is not covered in Warranty. The root cause he communicated is that locality air causes this and all the fridges in this area have same issue and the pipes needs to be replaced every year. When inquired in DWARKA area it was found that this was total bluff.
Whoever designed the rack adjuster did not do a very good job it. The plastic tabs that hold it in place keep breaking off. If were using it to move the rack up and down I could understand that over time it might break but we never use it to move the rack up or down. The rack has been in the same position from the time the dishwasher was installed over a year ago and about every six months I have to replace the adjusters because the tab breaks off and lets the rack drop. This is one of the main reasons we will never buy another one and replacing this one even though we have had it less than two years.
We purchased Samsung double French door refrigerator in July 2015. Today it stop cooling and its not defrosting even though it is supposed to defrost itself. The technician had to manually take off the back of the fridge and manually defrost it. The problems came from the 2 sensors on the back (inside). The repair costs $150 for parts and labor. MY ADVICE TO ALL: NOT TO BUY ANY SAMSUNG FRENCH-DOOR REFRIGERATOR. ITS A VERY BAD DESIGN!
My icemaker dispenser stopped dispensing cubed ice. It still dispensed crushed ice and water. I called Samsung for factory authorized service. They arranged for one of their authorized repair serviceman to perform repair. I watched as he called Samsung to talk to a tech. Im an electrician and it became apparent to me he did not know what he was doing. He listened to the tech and using his meter, he checked several connections on the printed circuit board. Several times, he was checking the wrong terminals and had to ask the tech to repeat where to check. He said he needed to order parts and would be back in a few weeks. When he returned, he installed the parts and said everything was working. I paid $433.77. Later, I noticed there was no ice being made. When I tried the dispenser, it no longer tried to dispense any ice cubed or crushed. I called Samsung to complain. I was given a phone number to call. The person there listened to the trouble I was having and said the parts replaced would not have fixed my problem. He said he would send out parts and arrange for a different repair company to install. When the new repair person arrived, he listened to my problem and said the parts sent would not fix the trouble. He checked out a few things. When he put the parts back together, the water dispenser no longer worked. He said he would need to call Samsung for parts and left. After two weeks, I called to find out the status. I was told that Samsung would not authorize any farther repair but nobody bothered to call me.I called Samsung again and was told they were sorry about the misunderstanding and issued a new work order number. A few days later, I received an email stating the work order number was cancelled. Another call, another order number and again another cancel email. Again, I called, got a new number and again a few days later, a cancel e-mail. I called again, this time, I was asked to hold. Before the operator put me on hold, I heard him say to someone else, Its that (my name) again. What do you want to do? Then he hit the hold button. When he came back on line, he said Samsung was no longer going to attempt any repair. When I stated that I was out $433 and my unit was worse than when their repair people started working on it, he stated, Sorry but youre on your own. This story has been abbreviated for space allowed. This exchange went on for almost three months and involved many, many phone calls and e-mails. It involved nine different service order numbers, most of which were cancelled within days of being issued. Do not buy any Samsung product. They will not stand behind it with quality service and will just try to drag out the problem until you go away.
Moved in a new house around 2012, fridge model is RS263TDRS - its a Samsung side-by-side refrigerator that at the time cost at least $2500 cad if bought brand new. Anyways, at the 2-year mark, the fridge started making loud noises and water and ice is building up on the bottom drawer on the fridge side and water would fall out almost everyday, which damaged my hardwood floor. I did some research online and realized it is probably caused my ice build up inside the fridge, and I opened the back part of the fridge and its all frozen inside. Spend hours defrosting the ice with a hair dryer and out everything back in. Everything worked for about a week and water is falling out again. Suddenly the freezer just wont cool and now Im stuck with a barely working fridge.
After about a year water was building up under crisper and ice maker would freeze also. At least once a week we have to shove towels in to soak up all the water because if not will run into freezer! Service tech said that’s pretty much junk. I agree!!! Do not buy! Looks nice but they are junk!!!
Samsung refrigerator is the worst purchase I ever made in my life. Couldnt even last for 2 full years. And service department is insane. They give me appointment 3 times to come fix but nobody shows up and when you ask them why they didnt come they have nothing to say except sorry.
Purchased from Sears. Numerous problems and service calls. Several parts replaced. Dripping and Freezing in the crispers. Massive freezing behind the freezer drawers. Paint flaking from handles. Door panel replaced (broken spring). Door handles replaced. Two week delay for parts. Would like to join class action, if any.
I was heart-sick when I read all the horrible reviews for the Samsung refrigerators. I have only had model RS265TDRS for 6 months and it quit cooling 2 days ago. Tried the OnLineChat and was sent by the agent to a Samsung link that extolled how you should NEVER put a thermometer in the refrigerator to see what temp it is. I couldnt believe it. Then I put in a work ticket... and heard NOTHING. As I purchased the extended warranty through Conns the appliance store, they do warranty service as well, and when I heard nothing from Samsung.. I called them. They came out within 48 hours and told me the problem was the plastic cover over the coils, and it would take 3 to 5 business days to get the part. I nearly died. I explained this is my only refrigerator and they didnt seem to care. I agreed and after we plugged up the open spaces around the coils with small strips of quilt batting he left. The cooling element does seem to be working... as the vegetable drawers are 42 degrees... but up on the top shelf it is 60 degrees. How do I know??? I left the horrible thermometer they wanted me to immediately take out... in the unit. Now.... the door is telling me that the refrigerator is 34 degrees... but it is not. I FINALLY got the local service company contact information from them... however... the online chat lady said I had to file a work report with them first and then I could call the repair company directly and give them the work order. So! Lets start a lawsuit.... This is insane... to that poor couple who had been using a cooler for over 30 days... I went online and purchased a small GE fridge that I will keep in the garage... or get one sized for a dorm room... to keep your meds in... I am ready to fight them on this one...
We purchased the Samsung 24CF counter-depth side-by-side refrigerator in December of 2013 from Pacific Sales in Chatsworth, CA. The unit cost $3149 before tax and we paid an additional $350 for an extended 5 year warranty. Within 6 months, several of the side shelves, which theyd demonstrated as being intended to hold gallons of milk, had cracked or were broken to the point they hung of the door. This was true even of the shelves we used only to hold condiments and smaller, lighter items. Within 13 months, every single door shelf was cracked or broken and the plastic surrounds on the main shelves had cracked as well. The warranty company said the shelves were not covered and Samsungs customer service department said they could not do anything as it was over 12 months since purchase. All they would do was provide me with a number to call so that I could pay for the new interior shelves myself. Given the price of this refrigerator, the quality is really inferior. We had our previous Kitchen Aid refrigerator for over 18 years and nothing inside was broken or cracked when we replaced it. DONT BUY A SAMSUNG.
I bought dishwasher as well as refrigerator and electric range in 2013. In 2014 the dishwasher started to have problems (the soap compartment wouldn’t open), so the technician came and replaced the whole dishwasher under the warranty. In 2015 the dishwasher started to malfunction again, the same problem. Another technician came in and replaced part under the warranty again. In 2019 the same problem occurred again. This time the first technician couldn’t replicate the problem. The second technician came in, and he said that it’s most likely intermittent problem, and it’s possible that 3 different parts should be replaced, and since the warranty run out, he doesn’t recommend spend the money on the unknown. I really appreciate this concept. When I called Samsung again, they said that the main circuit board under the warranty since it was replaced in 2015. But when I tried to call the company who is fixing the dishwasher, they explained to me that Samsung doesn’t extend the warranty on the replaced parts and everything goes to the original date of purchasing or replacement of the machine. I had a dishwasher for over 20 years in Massachusetts (not Samsung), never had a problem. Never will buy Samsung products again and wouldn’t recommend it to anybody. On top of the bad product, bad manufacturing warranty too.
I replaced 15-year old Sears Kenmore appliances with what I believed to be top of the line Samsung appliances. Boy, did I learn a lesson. Problem number 1: the oven dead shorted a heating element. We had a service man out for the repair. He didn’t have the parts. Evidently, Samsung replacement parts are not well stocked or easy to get. We made our own repairs. Problem number 2: the refrigerator ($2700 French door, freezer below) started leaking water under the deli tray and freezing. This appliance has a service plan and the service tech was contacted. It took two weeks to get the part, which was shipped in to our house from California. He made the repairs. The problem was solved for a while.Six months later there is water in the same location. Problem number 3: microwave door handle broke off at the mount. Cheap plastic connection between metal and plastic. Then the key pad started dead shorting and shutting down the breaker. The problem only occurs when you set time and run machine. It doesn’t occur when the preset buttons are utilized. Samsung appliances all less than 2 years old all have problems. The replacement parts are scarce to find except online. All the service techs I spoke with spoke very poorly about Samsung appliances in general. I am completely done with Samsung forever. I just had to replace our 15-year old Kenmore dishwasher. I didn’t even consider Samsung even though it would match our other appliances. I am only going to buy American made appliances in the future. They may not be as high tech or fancy looking, but they work and last and you can get replacement parts. 3 Samsung appliances, 3 bad experiences, 3 strikes--you’re out.
When I purchased the dishwasher, it was quiet, cleaned great and all of the dishes were dry at the end of the wash. After 1 year, the dishwasher leaked significant water to the point my Pergo floor was ruined. After year 3, the dishwasher sounds like a chainsaw every time I turn it on. It is a shame because it was a nice dishwasher initially, but IS NOT durable whatsoever. For the cost ($500) it should work for more than 1-4 years.
DO NOT BUY A SAMSUNG REFRIGERATOR!! The water dispenser on my Samsung refrigerator makes a stuttering, jack-hammer noise. Removing and replacing the filter and bleeding the water line takes care of the problem - for about a week. Then its back again. 4 calls to Samsung, hours on hold, only resulted in them suggesting that their authorized service contractor, Service Quick, come out to look at the problem - AT MY EXPENSE. I was even told by one Samsung customer service rep that they had never had this complaint before. Really?? Google Samsung Water Dispenser Problems and you will see DOZENS of complaints!
I purchased my Samsung DW (Model DW933) through Lowes. After 2 months, I noticed a smell that is always present - even after I cleaned the dishes. It is awful. Plus, the glasses dont stay up. I have several broken glasses when I open my DW, I can count on one of them being broken... The top rack is a joke. Spoke to Samsung and they sent a repairman out... He was a joke. I could not understand him. He told me to use vinegar too like I did not know that already. Waste of time. Im SO FREAKING UNHAPPY with this dishwasher but Im stuck with it. Samsung should recall them... Oh by the way, the rollers on the bottom shelf do not glide back and forth. If you take the shelf out too far, it will fall down onto the door. There are no stops to prevent this from happening. I need some help here. I dont have 700.00 for another new Dishwasher. :(
My Samsung refrigerator is 3 years and 2 months old exactly. It stopped making ice this week. I went online and followed directions on how to hit the reset button. Nothing happened so I called Samsung Support. They asked me to hit the reset button again. Nothing happened, so they opened a ticket and told me I would have to pay $80 to have a tech diagnose the problem. There was no further attempt at phone troubleshooting. The tech showed up and asked me to power cycle the unit by turning off the breaker and turning it back on. The ice machine immediately dumped ice. If the FIRST PERSON I talked to did their job and SUGGESTED I POWER CYCLE the unit, I WOULDN’T BE OUT $80!!! I am infuriated.
I purchased this dual oven convection range in July 2015. I have read the manual for tips on how to bake properly, no help. I attempted repositioning racks for regular baking, convection baking. Nothing mattered. Biscuits are burned on the bottom and white on top. Angel food cake was overdone on one side and not done on the other. Cakes are a flop. I love to bake and have baked successfully for fifty years. Called service; they are not knowledgeable of the product and outright lie. They rescheduled a visit by repair and they never showed up. I called back; same with complaints, no return visit. The only thing the repairman did was flash a beam to read the temperature at entry point. Said everything is ok; but Ill replace a board. This did absolutely nothing. Im back to a range top with no way to bake bread, cakes or pies. This range cost $1299.00. All I want is to be able to use the appliance without ruining everything I try to cook. I bought an oven thermometer to gauge temperature. Set on 350 degrees, the lower rack read 200 degrees. I would gladly return this range to purchase one that gets the job done. Is there any recourse other than suing Samsung? Im at my wits end, this purchase was no doubt the worst choice Ive made in my life.
We have had this refrigerator for about 2 yrs now. After a month of owning it, we noticed the refrigerator was not cooling. After unplugging for a while, we plugged it back in one day and it was cooling. 2 weeks later, same issue. Now weekly.
I purchased a Samsung refrigerator; model RFG293HAWP/XAA, in November of 2011. The wide open cool select pantry draw opened and closed properly for a few months and now it jams on a regular basis. When I called service, they told me I was overloading the draw and not balancing the contents properly. Why design a large draw that you are supposed to leave half empty? And why did it not have a warning sign displayed in the showroom model with the above instructions? I certainly would not have purchased the product if I was correctly informed. Customer Service left me with an Oh well, live with it reply.
We purchased this $3,000 refrigerator, 4 months later ice maker broke, it was replaced. Over the last 2 years we had to have it repaired 8 times costing over $1200. It was deemed unrepairable by a certified Samsung tech and yet Samsung refuses to give any replacement or credit. Terrible product and customer service.
This model I have was the worst engineered product that has been seen on the market. Samsungs have all the bells and whistles, great novel my useful designs but the quality is not up to the price asked. The repairman said they tried for three years to fix the ice buildup problem and finally got it right after three years. I find that I still see ice, though it has not stopped cooling but it feels like skating on thin ice and that it will break again at any given moment. JCPenney now has appliances and they are phasing out selling Samsung. The enameled on their stoves is so thin. As is the paint on the refrigerator. I wont buy this brand again. The new features are always enticing with this brand but dont fall for it. By the way read about the problems And complaints before you read the glowing reviews about any appliance and always buy the extended warranty if you cant afford a big repair bill visit. Most appliances the repair person told me appliances need a repair in 1 1/2 years to 3 years. They just dont make them like they use to. And dont think high end and huge price is also an indication of quality, it just may be a status brand.
Bought this item new in September and feel good if we get 3 washes out of 10 attempts. It constantly blinks in the heavy cycle and is basically stuck there. The unit will start up like its going to wash and gets stuck in a drain cycle. Theres no water in the tub - it just runs like its trying to drain. The problem is intermittent which drives me crazy as weve had service people out and the unit worked fine. 2 days later it was back to its old self - stuck in a drain cycle. Aside from this, it does not get the dishes dry and many times the soap dispenser doesnt open - therein the dishes only get rinsed. If I could only go back - I would buy the Bosch any day over this POC.
I purchased a gas range on 1/1/2019 and paid $721 for it and that does not include the delivery, install and 3 year extended warranty. I have had a problem obtaining proper temperature since beginning. A service person came out and said there was nothing he could do and I could just change the temperature on my own. I believe the oven bake temp is correct after using the instructions in manual, but the convection oven temp is still about 25-50 degrees off. There is no way to adjust that. I filed another complaint after serviceman and just got a call from Samsung that it is my fault and there is nothing they can do. I got this stove mainly because it was a Samsung and it has a convection bake feature. Now I will not be able to use convection unless I want burnt or undercooked food. I am so angry. I have a Samsung phone, Samsung washer and dryer and a Samsung microwave. Never again. I will never buy Samsung nor will I ever recommend anyone else I know to make the same mistake.
Purchase this Samsung dishwasher for my new addition at the end of 2017. It has never been a good product. It does not clean well at all and in fact the first time I had a repair person out all they told me to do was to push every single button feature on the dishwasher and make sure that my water was already hot before I used it. It is a total piece of garbage. Now today I had to have another repair person come at the cost of $120. I was informed that the main power unit has gone out and just for the part is $450. Needless to say, I have to purchase a new one and it sure as hell will not be a Samsung. This is the worst dishwasher I have ever seen.
I purchased a Samsung DMT300 dishwasher last year. Shortly after I bought it, it started to smell horrible. No matter how I tried to clean it or adjust the drain hose, it still stinks. It smells like sour milk and rotten food. It hardly cleans the dishes even on the longest cycle with the Sanitize button pressed. All our glasses are covered with food particles. It is absolutely disgusting! We pre-rinse and run it almost everyday. I HATE this dishwasher!!! My cheap builders grade Whirlpool was 1000 times better. This is my worst purchase ever!
There is a sensor to defrost the fridge and send the water created down a drain for evaporation. This sensor fails to work causing water to pool inside either under the crisper drawers or the cool select pantry. If the water is not noticed, it will ultimately flow from the unit onto the floor. Sometimes this sensor will also cause freezing of the fan that keeps air circulating in the refrigerator. Personally, I had this problem repaired on 4/3/12 and today, 10/29/12, I have called Samsung to report that it is happening again. Their customer service stated that the repair is not covered, is out of warranty and they will not pay to replace/repair. I decided to do a little research via the web and after typing in various forms of the following question: water leaks in bottom of fridge, water under food drawer, water leaking from fridge, etc, I have come across over 2,000 inquiries to this question just from the Samsung website. When I visited other sites, i.e. AppliancePartsPros.com and ConsumerAffairs.com, I saw another 500 plus complaints. So how do we get Samsung to admit this is a defective part and correct the problem for all of us? I slipped on my tile floor because of the water and now have my ankle in a brace. Other folks have complained about flooring becoming damaged, food loss, all sorts of problems because of this defect. I cant afford to keep calling a serviceman out for the same problem and probably lots of others feel the same. Thank you for looking into this matter.
We love the fridge, just not the ice maker. We have had the fridge for over 2 yrs now but in the past 6 months we have had to defrost it about 3 times. Getting a bit ridiculous! We also have water that runs down to the freezer and is freezing under the bottom tray. We paid way too much to deal with a problem like this. We would love a solution!
We purchased a Samsung dishwasher... Awesomely quiet but this dishwasher has a stench from ** (so bad that I refuse to rate this unit... Well I had to or I couldnt post my review). No matter how I try to clean it... bleach, ammonia, vinegar or one of the dishwasher disinfectants that you can buy... it still stinks... the same with the front loader machines... What can I do to get rid of the stench? Im about ready to go chew on someone knowing its NOT their fault. I thought Id purchase a well known dependable brand name but I think Id.... Let me rephrase that, I know I like my Magic Chef 100% more than this top dollar unit. Its a shame that the USA allows such crap to be imported from another country... Lesson well learned... DO NOT BUY A SAMSUNG DISHWASHER!!!
DW80F600UTS/AA was 18 months old and lightly used (3x month), the smart auto and normal lights flashing. The Samsung repair guy replaced the PCB Main and the sensor ECS. He said the PCB main was an updated one (problems with the one in my dishwasher). Samsung will not pay for parts after 1 year even if lightly used. The repair guy said it is likely to fail again and is only under warranty for 90 days. Do not buy this product. When it fails again it will be used for a drying rack since I dont generate a lot of dishes.
We purchased a Samsung refrigerator model #RFG298HDRS 5 years ago and have had issues with water leaking and freezing under the cool select pantry drawer. Some reviews say the leaking is caused by not using Samsung filters but we always use Samsung filters. We bought the extended warranty and had the heating element changed for free but now less than a year later we are having the same issue again! When you spend this much money on an appliance you expect it to work!
We have a Samsung french door fridge with a freezer at the bottom. Every few months we have to get a hammer and screw driver to remove the ice build up in the freezer compartment. A total piece of junk.
We have owned our $2000 refrigerator for just about 2 years when the motherboard and the inverter broke down. Everything in the refrigerator had to be thrown away, including the $150 of groceries we just purchased! We have been without a refrigerator for over 2 months because getting it serviced and fixed takes very long. Ordering the part alone is a feat in itself. The part would not be received by Samsung until November 6 making it even longer to be fixed. They would receive it then send it to the parts company here on Oahu. Well, being that we have a party on October 31st, my husband ordered the $111.00 inverter on his own and paid extra to have the part rushed over. We will receive the inverter on Tuesday, 10/21 and the maintenance person will come on Wednesday to fix our refrigerator. We owned a GE for 11 years with absolutely no problem prior to buying this one. Obviously we made the worst decision to buy what we thought was the top of the line! Jokes on us! We will never again buy Samsung again! Crossing my fingers that it gets fixed.
Purchased a Samsung microwave 2 years ago. After six months of use, panel board would not work. Under warranty - motherboard was replaced. Six months later, now out of warranty, same problem. Motherboard needs replacing. Contacted Samsung and tried to direct me to schedule service repair at my cost. I asked both service support people what they would do, if they would purchase another Samsung product. Neither of them would answer as far as what they would purchase. Leads me to believe they would not purchase a Samsung product. I would strongly advise people to purchase anything but a Samsung product.
Samsung doesnt believe in customer satisfaction, they dont take responsibility of their faulty, defective products. Doesnt even bother to get it fixed even if its a safety hazard. Bought a gas cooking range year ago, gas is leaking from somewhere inside the oven. They have a worst customer service. They want customer to spend money on repairs, seems like, they are making money from there as well.
Shocking experience with Samsung fridge. Fridge delivered yesterday after two days of waiting. Turns out it is not cooling. Samsung is telling me I have to wait another 3 days to get a technician check it. I dont want to ** get it checked!!!??? I want a replacement!!! I cant talk to a manager. People answering the phone barely speak English. Worst customer service ever! Stay away from Samsung fridge if you want peace of mind!
Samsung Refrigerator Model RB215LASH - Samsung is a disgrace. I have sworn off any product made by Samsung as a result of my experience with this refrigerator. This refrigerator began giving me trouble at ten months. I went out of town to work and when I came home it wasnt working at all. Neither Lowes nor Samsung was concerned about the fact that they are selling a piece of junk. I contacted Samsungs recommended repair company and during the visit, I was advised that no one wants to work on them because they continue to fail even after repairs are made.A faulty refrigerator is a health and safety issue and has the potential to kill. The digital thermometer displays the temperature incorrectly. Perishable food items stored above 40 degrees for more than two hours can grow deadly bacteria. Samsung, you should be ashamed. Unfortunately, today it is all about the dollar, and honor and integrity have no place in the corporate equation. Im not sure why, but I did expect more from Lowes. Next step for me will be a catchy little video on YouTube where I use my Samsung refrigerator as an anchor, pushing it off of a boat with a big blue ribbon tied around it. (Dont worry, Ill make sure not to harm the environment in the process and to hoist it back up and dispose of it properly after the filming.)
Refrigerator is three year old and cost about $2000. Last week the evaporator fan (inside of the refrigerator) started getting noisy. After looking online and discovering that this is a common issue I contacted the support people at Samsung. I received a canned response that said it could be caused by lots of things. They recommended that I unplug the refrigerator for 24 hours to let the evaporator thaw and for the ice to melt. If it happens again Im supposed to call for a repair appointment. We had to move all of our contents out of the refrigerator to let the evaporator thaw before we could get the cover off to clean out the drain. This is a really poor product backed up by offshore support auto responders. For your next refrigerator purchase choose any product other than Samsung.
We purchase the Samsung stainless steel side by side with freezer on bottom. Looks great but the ice maker doesnt work. Called serviceman, came out and replaced the ice maker, worked for a few day then started freezing up, called serviceman again. They replaced the third ice maker. Work for a few days and it started freezing up. Now it is out of warranty. Will cost a lot of money, the ice maker has been trouble since almost the beginning, I cleaned out the frozen ice out and now the ice is very wet, it drips water out of the ice maker out of the door and on the floor till it completely freezes up. We had to go out and purchase an portable ice maker so we can have ice.
I have never replaced all my kitchen appliances before..my contract had just finished his kitchen and went with Samsung..I bought a refrigerator, a dishwasher and an stove..that purchase was probably the best MONEY I have spent..I love my KITCHEN.
We registered a complaint regarding our fridge which we bought just about one and half years ago... The complaint was done on the 4th of June and this is the 8th of June today, and still the problem is not solved. Today we called the service center for four times. Every time we are told that your problem is on priority and will be solved soon... In the evening, a senior executive told us that it is 7 oclock and this time no one can come... and we are told to wait till the coming Monday that is the 10th of June... So we are so disappointed with their services and we found ourselves helpless in this condition. We think that we should not buy any more products from Samsung.
I purchased this model in May of 2016. For the past 6 months it randomly works. The screen flashes 777s sometimes, sometimes nothing at all and currently has completely stopped working altogether and the screen shows C-FO. It was an expensive microwave purchased with 2 other black stainless Samsung products, one being a $2500 refrigerator that has quit producing ice. Ive contacted Samsung and they will not stand behind their products. Very dissatisfied and will never recommend any of their products.
This has to be one of the worst refrigerators (Samsung 28.5 capacity, French door with freezer below) ever made. The ice maker would make ice sporadically. Sometimes there was enough ice to get through a day. Most of the time we had to rely on trays of ice that we purchased separately out of frustration. The shelves that hung on the doors were so poorly designed that they often broke off which caused many disasters with broken condiments and such. I know the shelving problem is not isolated to our refrigerator. A friend had the same model and every one of his shelves were also broken. Currently my shelving is patched together with tons of duct tape. Now to make things worse only 7 years old and the compressors has stopped working. I would caution anyone who is considering a Samsung refrigerator to reconsider.
Known Design Flaw With Kevla Icemaker. Just like thousands my french door model has an icemaker that freezes up and stops making ice. Also loud noises. Have had 2 repairs but they just melted the ice so it freezes every 2 to 4 weeks. Shame on Samsung for not doing a recall. Its a very well known issue; the fan gets hot, melts the ice then it freezes back up again. Theyve even published repair instructions for their techs but Ive had two here and they assure me its fixed. Im disabled and cant stand long.... Simply dont have the energy to stand for hours trying to remove the frost build up. Never again Samsung...Id pay another company triple before another purchase.
First the reason for my review is to warn consumers about a Samsung refrigerator and I dont want them to make the same mistake that I made. If I could do it all over again, I would have kept my old refrigerator or got a different brand. I bought this mess of a refrigerator in September 2013. I bought a Samsung refrigerator for $1500.00 and a 5-year warranty with it. I am so glad I did because it’s been problems every since I had it. I had a technician come out to replace different parts on this refrigerator at least 3 times since 2013. The ice maker keeps messing up and not producing ice. If you leave the door open for at least 15 minutes then close the door, it won’t produce ice. The water freezes up and it won’t produce ice either. I hate I even bought this freakin Samsung refrigerator. After my warranty is up, I will sell it and get another refrigerator. The only reason why I am keeping it is because it is still up under warranty. I will not be able to afford for a technician to keep coming out after the warranty has expired. Damn you Samsung and the people who put this refrigerator together. If I could shove this refrigerator up their butt, I would. Please, Im begging the consumers, DONT BUY A SAMSUNG REFRIGERATOR!
I bought the Samsung Microwave brand new at Costco when we built our new home. We are barely two years and the control panel has gone out of it. Were now experiencing the dreaded locked keypad with an SE error code, turning on in the middle of the night. Its past its warranty period. Never had a higher end appliance ever die that quickly. This is obviously a problem with this product as there are 70 complaints on here with the same issue. Something should be done as repair costs are the same amount as the microwave.
My 3 yr. old Samsung over the range microwave quit. Not happy at all with this! Displays SE only.
The ice maker is a standard size and tends to produce ice adequately. HOWEVER, BE WARNED that Samsung ice makers are very poor quality. They tend to dispense crushed ice even when you dont want it. They definitely dispense broken bits of cubes constantly. I have contacted Samsung about this issue and their attitude is well, thats just the way it is, too bad. Its a shame that a $3,000 refrigerator comes with such an inferior ice maker and even a bigger shame that Samsung thinks its okay to sell you a fridge that spits ice in your floor every time you use it. Their customer service department said that if they send a technician out to look at it they will bill me because they dont consider this a defect. Huh?? Be informed before you buy a Samsung product.
Bought a Samsung 4 door French model # RF28HMEDBWW/AA 28 cu ft refrigerator on 11/21/2016 @ JC Penney. The ice maker continually freezes up and partially defrost causing a drip and puddles in the middle door tray and floor. We have had to defrost the ice maker 11 times so far when the issues started last fall and have become really irritating. Not sure if its even worth calling Samsung. I can see why so many jumped on the bandwagon/class action lawsuit. Really disappointing to say the least.
Good price. Good Quality Machine. Interior light is a little dim and key pad dark. Key pad not Sensitive enough to touch. Plenty of interior room for variety of dishes. Easy to clean inside and out. Samsung Model ME19R7041FS. Installed easily over electric range.
Samsung being ridiculous by charging $62 CAD + $10 delivery for stamped piece of plastic of unspeakable quality to replace the door bin. The whole fridge costed me $1200. Keep off the Samsung products if you could.
Hello, we purchased the Samsung 30.5 CuFt French Door Refrigerator Stainless Steel Model Number RF31FMESBSR in June 2013. It looks like there is some manufacturing defect as we see the water leakage and rust on the backside of the refrigerator. Thus anyone else is facing similar issues? We had 1-year manufacturer warranty and 60 months protection plan from Home Depot; however, in this specific issue it was a little difficult to notice the problem since it was on the backside of the refrigerator and as you know how many people go and look at the backside of the refrigerator once its install. As per the Samsung service company, other consumers also had similar issues. However, Samsung is not taking any actions to resolve the issue citing the refrigerator is out of warranty.
The display on our electric range started to flicker. Sure Samsung offers a repair and warranty program, but who in the HELL cant wait for 4 months until a service technician shows up? Steer clear. Also bought above the range microwave and a matching dishwasher. All have had similar issues. I will never purchase another Samsung appliance. I would rather build a fire outside to cook on than purchasing a new range from them!!!!
Dreaded SE microwave called - On the phone as I typed with customer service for Samsung, I mentioned the epidemic warranty and was approved for service. After receiving a transaction number, I was transferred to the Executive Customer Relations Department who verified all my information and issued another ticket number. I will be waiting to hear from a service rep regarding who will be coming to fix my unit. If I understand correctly, some models made between 2008 and 2011 are covered so give it a shot. I will update once service is complete
We purchased a Samsung french door refrigerator with the freezer on the bottom. The ice maker didnt work on day one, they sent someone to replace it. This should have been a clue to us, after about 18 months it quit working again. Repair guy replaced the ice maker TWICE with no luck. Finally Samsung informed him that he needed to replace the ice maker and the board at the same time in order for it to work. It lasted about 9 months and is broken again. During that time it would stop making ice for a few days (I like to say it went on vacation which I cant afford to do because I have to keep repairing my stupid ice maker!!). Anyway, now its no longer making any ice - I think it decided to retire and move to a warmer climate. Now were buying bags of ice, which is a pain in the you know what, I cant stand room temperature water. Never, never, ever buy a Samsung refrigerator.
For over 3 weeks, I have reached out to Samsung Customer Service to get a resolution on a new stove that never worked. No one has helped me yet. Below is a summary of the contacts I have made. My last two attempts to contact customer service have left me at a dead end. I was told there was no number for me to contact and that I must wait to receive a call from Samsungs Office of the President. After over 3 weeks without a stove and not a single follow-up call from Samsung, you can only imagine how frustrating this is. I have not cooked on a stove for over 3 weeks now.On 9-15-2012, I bought a new stove from Lowes in Fort Collins, Colorado. On 9-17-2012, I contacted Samsung Customer Service to report that the stove top did not work and caused large electrical surges in my house. On 9-19-2012, I called Customer Service again because no one had called me back. They apologized for the slow follow-up and got me in touch with Elite Services, a repair company in Greeley, CO.On 9-21-2012, the service company looked at the stove and determined that the entire mechanical components of the stove top needed to be replaced. According to the service company, an order was placed through Samsung. On 10-3-2012, after no follow-ups from Samsung or the repair company, I called again, only to determine that Samsung dropped the ball and that nothing was happening. From what I gathered, the part for my brand-new stove was no longer made and they would see if there was some sort of alternative part. My confidence continued to dissipate. On 10-3-2012, I emailed the Office of the CEO through the Samsung Customer Service website and received an automated reply that I would be contacted in 1-2 business days. On 10-8-2012 at 8:30, I contacted customer service again since I have not received any calls from Samsung. They basically told me my issue was being reviewed by a manager and that someone would be in touch with me by the end of the day.On 10-8-2012 at 4:00 PM, after not hearing back from Samsung, I called again. They said the issue was being handled by the Office of the President. It was not possible for me to speak to anyone, but someone would call me possibly that night. I could not call anyone in the Office of the President. I was told they would have to call me. There was a refusal to put me in touch with a person that had the authority to handle my issue. Again, I was told to be patient and wait.On 10-9-2012 9:45 AM after not hearing back from Samsung, I called again and of course, got the same answer. Customer service could not help me nor provide any answers. I must only wait for someone from the Office of the President to call me. A timeline was not provided and I was told that there was nothing else that customer service or I could do but to just wait for a call back.I researched a phone number for Samsung corporate, 201-229-4000. I was put on hold and waited to speak with customer service from the Office of the President. After a couple of minutes, a message came on and said the call volume was too high and to leave a message and theyll call me back. Through research, I think the President of this Samsung department is David Choi.Certainly, I am very disappointed with the complete lack of care, concern, follow-through, etc., from Samsung on a brand new product. I am very concerned that there is no confidence on the proper repair for a part that is no longer made. I wont settle for anything but a repair that makes the stove operate like new, or a new stove. I have not had a stove to cook on for over 3 weeks now and I have given Samsung ample time to correct this. Here is an excerpt from Samsung’s Code of Conduct: 12 - Principle 3. We respect customers, shareholders and employees. The Company will endeavor to reach just resolutions of customer-related disputes and will respond to the complaints of customers in a transparent, timely and effective manner. This has not been transparent, timely or effective.
I have purchased Samsung RF266AEPN Frig back in 2012 and it has frozen the refrigerator fan for the 2nd time because of the ice build up which doesnt keep the inside at a proper temperature. These is a faulty product and costing me money.
We had ice build up and water under the drawers in the fridge within 6 months of purchase. It warped our new hardwood floors under the fridge. We had the repairman come out to fix it. He told my wife it was my fault by not installing the filter correctly - crock. 4 months later called again for the same issue. This repairman was very apologetic and said these fridges get Styrofoam packing material caught in the water line. So, it worked for about 4 months and then same problem again. Samsung will not look at it and suggested we get a home warranty and have them fix it. Ice maker works off and on, is very noisy when it does work. Horrible customer service... worst fridge I have EVER OWNED. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of this one.
1. Water leaks inside refrigerator. 2. Ice maker freezes up - inhibits function from door. At times water will leak instead of ice. Vents inside of refrigerator freeze up effecting overall temp. 3. Strange fan noise. Note: Appliance purchased approx. 6 yrs ago. 2 yrs in occasions water pooling in bottom and ice maker freezing up. Last 2 yrs #2-3 began.
I wish I could give less than one star because thats how disgusted I am with my French door Samsung refrigerator. I purchased it about four years ago. After two years I finally figured out that it was icing up in the back and fortunately it was still under a warranty I had purchased with Lowes but it took close to a month to get all the parts etc. Also lost lots of food. Now again 2 years later the same thing. I called Samsung and became even more irate with the callous we dont give a crap attitude. This refrigerator needs to be recalled and Samsung sued because a company with morals would at least attempt to make a better product after so many of the same problems for so many years. This was to hopefully be my last refrigerator and now I cant even afford to fix the stupid thing. You can add me to the class action lawsuit as well and Samsung needs to recall and take responsibility for wasting our money. I also have a child and infant in the house - Im fearful that someone will end up with food poisoning. This is a huge safety issue Samsung!!!Updated on 07/03/2015: I finally threw most of my food away and pulled the plug on the fridge. It took three days but it finally defrosted. I then plugged it back in and for the time being it is cold and working fine. I suspect that I will end up doing this several times this year but as stupid as it sounds Im bound and determined to get a little more use out of it. So if anyone is in the same situation you might try to unplug, defrost it manually and plug it back in. Hope this can help somebody.
Dishwasher DW80F600 Series Serial # B00AG9MF106456D - We purchased this dishwasher 13 months ago for $800 at Lowes. It stopped draining the water last August, so we had it repaired under warranty. The technician they sent out installed all new parts on the machine. It worked well until last night when the problem reoccurred. When I pulled the machine out to find the serial number, I noticed that the frame was badly cracked on both sides. The cracks emanated from holes that were drilled in the bottom front of the frame. Having studied metallurgy, this is called stress crack corrosion, and is normally caused by a vibration. I called technical support and they told us that since the machine was one month out of warranty that they could send out a technician to repair it for $309.00 (including tax), and that they would also extend the warranty for another year at this price. After reading the reviews on this series, we opted to discard it and purchase a model that was not a Samsung.
Purchased Samsung Oven (flex), Washer, Dryer, and Dishwasher. 11/24/2017. Washer completely died last March - unable to fix, wiring harness issue. This week Oven has taken on a life of its own - no matter what you push (including warming drawer) the broiler comes on. You’ll get a C21 overheat warning and door locks. Customer Service gave me the number of a phone repair company to call for repairs. I can promise you I will never purchase anything in future with Samsung on it - absolutely no quality.
I bought a Samsung Refrigerator in June 2012. The ice maker never worked right and I just replaced it in June and this one doesnt work right either. Its always out of ice and Im the only person using it. The Refrigerator got stuck in the cooling off setting last night and I lost everything in the freezer. The Refrigerator side freezes everything on the warmest setting. Im replacing the Refrigerator in December and I will not be buying a Samsung.
We bought our refrigerator about 4 yrs. ago, and have had nothing but problems from day one. The ice machine broke twice. The refrigerator froze up and filled with ice in the back, and had to be serviced. The water dispenser broke. The fridge fan broke. Now the freezer is out. It was under warranty at first, so all the repairs were taken care of. However, now the warranty has expired, and I couldnt get the company to extend it. So, we are having to pay for this stuff. Searching the internet has shown that my problems are not unique to us. It is a problem others have had, and there is a lawsuit going on. How disgusted that makes us. Samsung customer service reps are clueless, and of no help. I will not buy anything from Samsung again. Too bad they charge an arm and a leg for theyre junk!
Updated on 09/27/2019: 4 Broken Ice Makers in 7 years. I have a side-by-side RSG307AARS Samsung refrigerator with 29.6 cu. ft. I purchased in July 2012. The ice maker has broken 4 times. The sensor that controls the paddle arm that ejects the ice cubes has failed each time. The first time it broke, Samsung paid as it was still under warranty. The second time being out of warranty, I paid $400, including parts and labor to replace. The third time I paid for labor only. This latest time Samsung says I have to pay all. Ive contacted their CEO through Email and phone to make them realize that the ice maker and subsequent ice makers have a defective sensor and like an automobile should be recalled and repaired at their expense with a sensor that wont break every year and a half. They refuse. I will never buy a Samsung product again; from what Ive read on the Internet, their refrigerators are the worst. Should have done my homework better 7 years ago. Let that be a warning. I have finally decided to junk it and Wednesday went to Lowes and bought a Whirlpool on sale with an extended 5 year warranty. And, if I never use the warranty, I get money refunded. Whats the chance of that?Original Review: Purchased refrigerator (RSG307AARS) Jul. 2012. Ice maker stopped making ice Oct. 2012. Repairman had to replace the ice maker and 2 circuit boards; this repair was warranted. Per repairman, this was a known issue with Samsung. Feb. 2015 ice maker stopped making ice again; the lever under the ice maker cover thats supposed to come down after each round of ice cubes are dumped into the bucket and sense if more ice should be made stopped working. Repairman determines the ice maker needs to be replaced again. The gears for the same lever are broken. Called Samsung, even talked to a supervisor (maybe). Samsungs bottom line - its out of warranty so they wont do anything to keep me as a future customer. My bottom line - I wont buy another Samsung product.
I purchased all Samsung appliances after remodeling the kitchen. I did not do my homework and purchased my appliances based on the name. Wrong thing to do. My microwave worked about 14 months and then it had the SE code. I called Samsung and they would not fix it as it was out of warranty. I had it repaired myself. The repair lasted less than 2 months when the microwave quit and the SE code appeared again. So I have used for the past 3 years a reliable counter top microwave while I have the Samsung microwave over the oven and it does not work. Sad. I also purchased the refrigerator, side by side with ice and water in the door. The refrigerator just like the microwave started making this awful noise. It over freezes things no matter the setting. The ice maker quit, and again Warranty so Samsung says its my problem. I thought this was a quality company with quality merchandise. Please read the reviews and do not purchase Samsung. I could kick myself for not purchasing Kenmore. That was what we replaced when we remodeled. Our Kenmore Side by Side Refrigerator was almost 30 years old and still worked. Never had a problem with it. My sister took it for herself after we replaced it with the Samsung and three years later it is still running great. I am very upset and totally dissatisfied with my Samsung purchases.
The refrigerator is a really good appliance. The biggest reason I didn’t give the appliance a 5 is because it dents very easily. I would recommend the fridge for use but with the knowledge that any bump for example kids running into it on their ride on toys will cause dents.
Purchased these 4 items rfg297hdrs refrigerator, smh21175 microwave combo, ne595riabsr oven, dw80f600uts dishwasher. Purchased in December 2013. 2 repairs under warranty on dishwasher and still does not work good. Over the oven microwave is in the garbage after burning bacon which burned out the panel. Paid a repair service for call and was quoted 480.00 for repair. 30 days after 1-year warranty. Oven element went out after 20 months and was told by Samsung it was covered. They sent a repair guy out and the part was not on warranty. I paid the service call and called to order the element and was told if the bottom did not work in my dual oven then it was the controller panel. I have been so disappointed in Samsung appliances. I would not recommend them and will let others know about the cheap quality and Samsungs bad customer service.
My husband and I purchased a Samsung French door refrigerator with the bottom freezer. This refrigerator contains two ice makers one in the refrigerator and one in the freezer. The Ice maker in the refrigerator has stopped working and I found out today that Samsung does not make the parts to repair my ice maker in the refrigerator part. I have spent almost $3000 for this refrigerator and it’s only about three years old and I am quite upset at the fact that I can’t get the parts to fix it! The model number is RF263TEAESG/AA. The part number for the ice maker is DA-97-08117B.I have spoken to Samsung directly on May 24, 2019 and spoke to Ryan and she directed me to J and J international for Samsung parts, I spoke to a woman named Dawn who looked up my part number and told me they discontinued it and I cannot get it. What am I supposed to do with my refrigerator when my ice maker doesn’t work and I’ve spent all this money on it and Samsung discontinued the part. I still had to pay the appliance guy $150 just for showing up and letting me know that he can’t get the parts. I personally feel that Samsung is putting out poor quality appliances and I will never purchase one again. I am stuck with a Samsung refrigerator that does not work properly and I would like you to contact Samsung about this problem! Sincerely, Debra **.
I bought new Samsung refrigerator 192 ltr and just used 7 days. Now got a compressor problem.
My husband and I purchased a white Samsung French door refrigerator (RF26XAEWP) about four years ago. Recently we are noticing that the porcelain beneath the water/ice dispenser has begun to rust. When I contacted Samsung customer service, I was told that the warranty had expired and that this was cosmetic damage and we would be responsible for the repair. I was given the phone number for the Samsung Repair Service for my area and that was it. When I expressed concern that this refrigerator was rusting after such a short period of time and that possibly the porcelain coating was improperly or inadequately applied, I was told there was nothing they could do as the appliance was no longer under warranty. So now I am going to have to pay $502.90 to replace the door. Apparently it is of no concern to them that I have to pay this, given the fact that we feel the problem was inadequate porcelain coverage in the first place. After 47 years of marriage and many refrigerator purchases (various brands), we have never experienced rust on the refrigerator. That being said, we will fix this appliance as we cannot afford to purchase a new refrigerator, but we will never purchase another Samsung appliance again. This refrigerator was purchased at Lowes in Kissimmee.
In November 2011, our family purchased a counter depth Samsung Refrigerator, Model #RSG257AARS. Shortly after purchasing the refrigerator, the exterior door above the ice maker had a small divot. Originally, it appeared like someone in our family dinged it with a hard object. However, over the next year, the problem continued, and both doors are covered in small divots from the door handles to the top of the refrigerator. This is definitely a manufacturing defect. According to the representative from Samsung, the warranty was only good for one year, and Samsung refuses to stand behind their product stating this is not a recall issue. This was a large investment for our family, and we are extremely disappointed that Samsung will not support its customers and products. We would like to share this experience so other consumers can make an educated choice before making their purchase.
I have a Samsung model RF28HDEDBSR/AA, serial #06EC43AFB01664x purchased from Best Buy. It has nothing to do with them though. Samsung is the problem... We just finished paying the darn refrigerator off... THANK GOD I have a service contract with a home warranty company since the ice maker is poorly designed! So far we have had 4 repairs, 2 replacements of the ice maker unit, special sealant added all around the unit and STILL, the ice comes out slushy and the unit leaks water constantly. I contacted Samsung and, much like all the other complaints I have read, I was told how sorry they were, but that since my unit is over their warranty, nothing could be done. She was willing to contact a repair person though everything is on me from there. Again, THANK GOD I have the home warranty...The Samsung representative stated they had no recalls nor were aware of any issues... I wonder if they check sites like this! We LOVE the unit since it is 28 cubic feet of great space. The fatal flaw is the ice-maker and I would tell anyone looking to not buy it unless you dont mind constant pulling of the ice machine unit to remove ice build-up or put up with constant calls for repairs...
Samsung model RE266AEPN froze up right at one year old and my wife noticed a hairline crack in the plastic at the front of the tray above the vegetable and fruit drawers. They had a company replace the evap cover and defrost sensor, which so far has cured the freeze up problem. They refused to replace the tray because we must have broken it. Ive owned a lot of refrigerators in my 70 years. This is the first that Ive ever broken in years. Also, youve got to be careful in opening the Cool Select pantry. The cover is narrower than the opening and if its not centered in the opening, one end will pop out of its attachment. Im sure they would say thats our fault also!
I have had issues with my icemaker since the day the warranty expired. Note that we are only talking a 1 year warranty! The on-line blogs all indicate that Samsung knows they made a poor quality product. I have a home appliance repair service that I pay a monthly fee for and they also acknowledge that people are having problems with the Samsung refrigerators all over the metro where I live. When I call into Samsung to have them do the right thing and replace a $110 part they simply indicate that the product is out of warranty. If you dont want to end up in my frustrated shoes dont ever buy a Samsung refrigerator.
Samsung Microwave SMH8165STE - Around the two-year mark, beeeeep, lights on, lights off, SE, beeeep… It never ends! I just Live Chatted with Samsung rep. She put my info into Executive Consumer Relations. What does that mean? Eh, I wont hold my breath to get anything accomplished - these reviews already prepared me. I really think there needs to be a class action lawsuit for this. Not because it is such a huge ticket item, but because Samsung needs to be slapped and told they cant get away with this. How do we do that? Im in if you guys are! As for this microwave, quite frankly, I really dont think I want this hazard in my house. Itd be cheaper for me to go buy a new one from a different company, not to mention I wont have to unplug it for fear a fire will start in the middle of the night while my family and I sleep because the possessed appliance decides to turn itself on for an imaginary baked potato.
I too have purchased the bundle deal and I am having issues with the ice maker freezing up at least twice a month. The stove top has scratches even though I use a high quality set of pots & pans. Now I have what looks like small bubbles under the glass top. All I can say is never buy SAMSUNG. Fridge Model # RF28HMEDBSR/AA Stove model # NE595ROABSR/AA purchased 11/20014.
My 86 year old mother purchased her french door refrigerator freezer a couple years ago. About 3 months ago the ice maker and water dispenser quit working. Then in Christmas day her refrigerator freezer quit working. We called the extended warranty company. They had a man come out January 6th (12 days after the unit went out) to assess. He ordered the needed part that day. The part didnt come in until January 15th. Needless to say, it still hasnt been repaired... the repairman is scheduled to come on January 20th for repair. They did not offer to rent her a refrigerator freezer during this time. She is on medication that must stay refrigerated. This is unacceptable customer service. We will see what transpires on Wednesday.
Samsung refrigerator (RF4267HARS) with middle drawer and then the bottom freezer compartment has been excellent and I am coming up to the five year mark owning it. The only frustration with the appliance is dispensing ice. When the glass is placed up against the paddle and pressed towards the fridge you can hear the ice auger turning but no ice is coming down the ice chute into your glass. Odd you would think. Then I would open up the fridge double doors and absolutely every time I would be greeted by ice cubes falling down all over the fridge ledge and all over my kitchen floor. No matter how many times I have told Samsung operators that the problem is the size of the ice cubes. The ice cubes get jammed up in the ice chute preventing other ice cubes from falling down the chute into the homeowners glass. A family member purchased an identical fridge six months ago and guess what the ice cubes are half the size. No issues ever with their fridge. A technician replaced the ice cube machine a week ago and the exact same sized ice cubes are being made and the jamming still occurs. This morning I opened up the fridge doors and ice started dropping out of the fridge onto my kitchen floor again. Warranty runs out at the end of 2018 and I cannot wait to sell this fridge. I will no longer purchase a fridge with a ice dispenser.
Purchased a Samsung refrigerator back in June. After 2 failed deliveries with damaged doors, Finally had 3rd fridge delivered on Sept 30th without problems. Called the Samsung company on many occasions regarding the problem. The Samsung company offered me a $150.00 gift card for our troubles. Today called to follow up on the gift card NOTHING!!! They will not honor their promise of the gift card for our troubles. Worse customer service I have ever experienced. The ABSOLUTE WORSE!!! Buyer Beware after purchase they forget about you and anything to do with their product.
Purchased Samsung dishwasher in October 2014. By December it was showing codes. It really took 6 months to get Samsung to send a repair company. Three visits later, the machine finally worked after replacing all master boards, pumps, drains, etc... Samsung was horrible to deal with. The machine again does not work and is showing the same codes; we had to wash all dishes and use the CLR cleaner the repair people gave us to no avail. Samsung will not back their product. The repair company refuses to repair a Samsung product (this is Samsungs registered repair company) and we have an $800 machine that does not work and has not work for more than a couple of months. We are now going to try getting help from the Better Business Bureau. Samsungs customer care is HORRIBLE!
Bought a very expensive Samsung refrigerator, and it broke down at 5 year and 3 months, just outside of the seal warranty. Then they tried to charge me half as much as the original cost of the fridge to fix it - unreal. Worst customer service and worst product ever. Just run from Samsung refrigerators. They are the worst and customer service is even worse than that - Ive heard this from several people, Ill never buy another Samsung product ever again!!!
Last night we heated a piece of pizza in our SMH9187 Over the Stove Microwave (about 25 seconds). The microwave got extremely hot and wires started smoldering. The control panel went completely dead and the internal sides were very hot (as well as the glass rotating plate in the microwave). We had to unplug the unit. Fortunately, there was no fire, but the microwave is dead. The unit is three years old. I cant believe that this happened to a relatively new microwave. Samsung should place a recall on all these models and reimburse people for their purchases. What an inferior product!
We’ve had our Samsung fridge 3 years. Nothing but problems- ice maker broke several times. The ONLY reason we bought it because consumer report magazine gave it a high rating. We have been to subscribers for at least 10 years or more.
I paid for the top of the line Samsung refrigerator mostly cause I like the style of it and I tend to pay more for products based on what type of insurance the product is well built. I spent $5,000 for my Samsung refrigerator. May it be a cultural difference I really dont care. Were in America and we have high standards with our products. Our refrigerator ice maker gave us problems almost day one. After 3 attempts to repair the ice maker I contacted Samsung and over a course of several months it was unbelievable to have to call the number that only answers the phone for 2 hours a day and if youre not first in line you will not have an answer to your ring. If you try to call back it goes to busy. Based on my persistence and anger I made sure I was first in line. Then they make me jump through hoops knowing they sent repair guys who have designated my refrigerator ice maker unrepairable. So getting the information they wanted not that I would have to actually call back. They had an email address I could send the information but would not reply to my email which forced me to have to call back to this line that is only open for a couple hours per day! All I got was, Sorry sir thats just our policy!Again through my persistence I did get the check minus the shipping minus the time it took for all 3 repairs for me to take off of work minus the continued frustration and time aggravation to contact them over and over! On top of this it even gets worse. They wanted a picture of the power cord cut. This is to assure them I wont throw it in the garage and use it there! I am not writing for failed ice maker. I am writing for the arrogance of a company to have policies set against the consumer and America needs to know it!
Ceramic cook top model# NES595ROABWW/AA - Cooking eggs on stove then all of a sudden pop and crack!! I had no idea where it came from... lifted up the pan (light in weight) and there were cracks. I called and got an appointment. A service tech came out, called Samsung... the person said it was not covered because the customer broke it. Drop damage. I never dropped anything on it. We have had the stove 4 months!! Service tech sent pics. Samsung refused to cover it under warranty. There is no indications that anything was dropped on it. They just want money and dont want to deal with customers. We have a Samsung Fridge, Washer and cell phones. Wish I never would have purchased any of their products! They are the worst company I have ever felt with!! I will never buy another Samsung product. Neither should anyone else!!
This refrigerator has been nothing but a problem. After 3 years, we had to entirely replace the ice maker for over $200 in repairs (not covered by warranty). After 5 years, we had to repair the water dispenser. At exactly, 5 years and 4 months, the freezer died, 1 week later, the refrigerator died. It is out of warranty and Samsung does not provide any support. In our county, there is no longer a Samsung certified repair shop. No one will even touch it. Samsung finally referred us to A&E factory service, more than 40 miles away. They came out to do the diagnostic today (2 weeks after the freezer failed). The repairs for the broken evaporator are over $700. This was a $1,500 fridge purchased at Best Buy. Samsung has been very disappointing. They are not willing to cover anything or provide product support. Will not buy from them again.
Overall Refrigerator and freezer performs well. However recently I have noticed that on Occasion door doesn’t close completely and the strip around the door doesn’t appear To be functioning as it should. I will be calling to report this issue and seeing what can be done.To my understanding the warranty is still in effect.
I have owned a Samsung French door, bottom freezer, model RF197ACWP for a year and a half and have had pooling of water under and inside the crispers and a layer of ice forming in the bottom of the freezer. This is apparently a common problem with this model, a manufacturing defect. I have never experienced any issues with any refrigerators I have owned in such a short period of time. The last refrigerator I owned lasted 15 years without problems and the one before that 20 years! Also, just after a year with this inferior product, the white door handles started to peel, exposing polished chrome or steel. I thought the cosmetic damage was the worst of my complaints! Little did I know. I will not consider buying Samsung products again, as its customer service is unresponsive in addressing complaints.
I like the range as far as it’s performance but after just a few months the fine scratches and the fact that it’s not smudge proof is horrible. I also own a top of the line washer and dryer from Samsung and I’m very disappointed with them as well. Bleach dispenser has rusted, and small part of the agitating mechanism (plastic), broke off after a year. Samsung isn’t what it used to be.
French door, small drawer with freezer in the bottom. It freezes up so you see frost thru the holes in the back of the refrigerator. Ice maker has stopped working. Hoped it was the filter so changed it. Worked a couple days and out again. Tech line no help. Obvious lack of knowledge. No repair company in our community. No call back within 48 hrs as told.
Samsung Refrigerator model #RF217ACPN/XAA - do not let the beauty or bells and whistles of ANY Samsung sway you into buying. We bought our Samsung 3 years ago and were thrilled when it was delivered and installed. Sadly those emotions didnt last long. The first sign of trouble was lettuce/salad fixings freezing. Made sure it was not human error (temperature), this problem continued. Next came the ice maker refusing to make ice. After multiple, long-lasting, irritating contacts to the Samsung support tech no fix to my problems occurred. Water, then ice began to accumulate in the crisper drawers. A little in the beginning, then half-full and freezing solid anything in drawer. Repairman contacted for the ice maker. First one stated that there was no way he would attempt to work on a Samsung. Next one sighed and said he would try but that Samsung offers no tech support and parts stay on back order for a very long time. After checking out ice maker, said he could fix it with a $64.00 (wholesale) cost part IF he could locate it. Ice maker part located, repairman returned, so we inquired about water/ice in crisper. Blue light flashing on the top control as you open refrigerator-- uh oh. He took panels off, removed drain tab, unthawed ice, checked top control board, checked main panel, checked all of the fans. Main control panels were not turning the fan. Surmised that the control panel was not functioning. Even though this is not a financially good time for us, we went shopping today to check on a new refrigerator. Three stores and all salesman acknowledged that they understood why we would NOT look at a Samsung. One store told us that the models on the floor were the end of what Samsungs they would be selling because of not being able service them because it is too difficult to get the parts as they are always on back order. Salesman stated that there were a lot of service calls made on this brand. Wish I had known then what I know now about this brand of refrigerator.
