My French door refrigerator started forming ice about 18 months after purchase. Warranty is only a year, which is ridiculous when you pay that much for a appliance. I checked online for anyone else experiencing the problem. Most problems were with water under the crisper drawers which I hadnt experienced. I called Samsung and the first words the service desk said were, We havent experienced that problem before, which I knew was bogus because every person that called them said they said the same thing. Anyway after over 2 years of emptying my freezer and getting the ice out, I finally bit the bullet and called a repairman. I wish Id done it right away.He took the bottom panel off the back, took out the two drain pipes for the automatic defrost, about 7each with a rubber, flat nipple on each one. He shows me the small slit across the end of the nipple that the water drains thru and explains that if that slit gets clogged the water backs up and freezes in the bottom. It also could cause water to be leaked under the drawers in the cooling part of fridge. All he did was cut about -1/8 off of the flat ends and put them back on the pipes and reinstall them. They must just slide on because he didnt have any tools but the screwdriver to remove the panel and a snipper to cut the rubber nipple. You can use scissors for that. I could have done this myself had I known what to do. Thats why Im writing this. Also he said to be sure to turn fridge off for 48 hours to make sure all the ice has defrosted. Thats a pain, but weve been removing the ice for 2 years every 3-4 weeks. If this works, its worth the 48 hours without a fridge. If this works, you wont hear from me, if not, Ill let you know. It was a $79 service call. Its a bad design and hopefully Samsung has changed it. My fridge is almost 4 years old. I love everything else about it.

Same thing, different person. Fridge Model RF217ACRS, manufactured in 2011.
Same thing, different person. Fridge Model RF217ACRS, manufactured in 2011. Problem started in 2014. Samsung refuses to pay for repair even though original chat transcript with Samsung Support inferred they will stand behind their product, after creating a ticket for me even though the fridge was out of warranty. Problem Description: Fridge coils freezing up, causing fan to rub on ice making a loud noise. Defrosted it multiple times, problem comes back within a week or 2. A&E Services wanting to charge $361 for the repair of what they claim is a $12 sensor. A&E Factory Services tech also told me that this is the cause of 90% of the problems reported regarding Samsung refrigerators. My guess... A&E and any other Samsung Authorized Service Center is being paid off by Samsung to cover-up the actual fault, which may lie with the evaporator, as if the water is drained/evaporated correctly, should not build up as ice on the coils, in my unprofessional opinion. Keep in mind, the evaporator is covered under the Samsung 5-year warranty, but the $12 sensor is not, and their repair techs will charge you out the *you know what* ($360) to replace it. I will never buy another Samsung device as long as I live, and I will steer all my friends and family away from them.

The $3000 refrigerator (RFG297) has door hinges that began to rust within a few months of purchase. The icemaker began to chew up plastic and deposit it into glasses being filled. A replacement bucket that I purchased solved the plastic problem but the dispenser routinely cloves with refrozen chucks of ice.

Only 40 months old and the bottom freezer drawer froze shut! Ice and frost
Only 40 months old and the bottom freezer drawer froze shut! Ice and frost all over the food and I can see a layer of ice on bottom of unit, under pull out drawer. No service contract but asked at Lowes who works on Samsung. They had no one who has been able to figure out how to deal w/ this brand. They HEARD that someone 1 1/2 hours away might know something about them. Called Samsung and they said to turn temp to 0, which I did. (Samsung promised to call me back within 24 hours. 96 hours later they returned my call and when I told them what I thought of this refrigerator, the rep laughed and wished me a Good Day!).Next morning I tugged and tugged to get drawer open and when it did open sheets of ice flew out onto kitchen floor. Searched online and found out I should NOT have purchased this thing... After I read enough to make me sick, I went online searched other brands and settled on a GE side-by-side that appeared to have the FEWEST complaints. Upon further reading about this piece of junk, I learned that water builds up under the crisper/snack bins in the refrig section. Removed the snack drawer that covers the entire bottom of refrig and bailed out 5 quarts of ice water, then took a mallet and beat the sheet of ice that was under the water and tossed that mess. This company clearly DOES NOT care about the consumer and neither does Lowes. I asked the associate in appliance dept. why they continue to sell Samsung appliances and was told it was because Lowes gets such GREAT DEALS from Samsung. Good for them...HORRIBLE for those of us who are dumb enough to purchase one. And I wonder, what good would the service contract be if they cannot find a repair company that knows how to deal with Samsung? It was delivered with a damaged door and after 3 months a new door came in, only it was stainless, I have a white unit. After 9 months, Lowes took doors of a new unit and put them on mine because Samsung was unable to supply them with one white door! I am not going to be stupid and look for someone to work on this piece of junk... Tomorrow it will be on the way to the dump.

RF266ABPN - Wrote a complaint on here in August 2013 about our Samsung 2-door fridge which kept pooling water and the back inside kept freezing with frost. We spent so much time always removing items, defrosting, scooping out water, etc. etc. UPDATE!! Finally hubby was able to fix problem himself. We have had no problems for 2+ years. He turned off energy saver mode and put paper clips in the drain tubes located at the bottom back of fridge to keep them open. They are used as spacers so probably any similar item would work. We are still not sure if the energy saver turnoff or paper clips did the trick but... after countless repairman and useless Samsung, just wanted to report what worked for us! No problems for 2+ years! I weirdly got a reminder about this review so came here and saw still horrific reviews... Hope this helps at least one person!Updated on 08/11/2018: We officially gave up on this refrigerator and brand in 2016. Our original problem (freezing/icing over) came back in full force, freezing, motoring, water pooling, even after my husband was able to temporarily fix it. Bottomline: We took it to the dump, This model is severely flawed.

We have owned this unit (Samsung rf266aers refrigerator) for six months and it has issues with the water dispenser leaking. Samsung is willing to buy it back, less taxes, and send me a check. However, they want the serial number sticker and they want me to cut the power cord. After speaking to them a few times, I cant trust them. I need to know that this will be refunded before I buy a new one. Does anyone have the office of the presidents number?

We had the absolute worst experience with Samsung. We called because our freezer was 2.5 years old and both ice makers broken in addition to the freezer. Our freezer wasnt staying at the correct temperature. I called to see what, if anything they can do. They advised me that there is no warranty. I requested the information for an authorized Samsung repairer (they did not offer). I was told that I would need to call and set up the appointment since I was no longer under warranty. I expressed how disappointed I was that our refrigerator was broken and was under 3 years old. He continued to reminded me there is no warranty so that was the end of that. I then called the number provided by the Samsung representative and did not speak with anyone. I chatted with a representative over the internet and explained that I could not get in contact with them and explained that I am loyal customer of Samsung for over 10 years and am in need of assistance. He could not do anything other than tell me that my warranty has expired and that I should call the number provided. I called a total of 4 times and left 2 voice messages. I then contacted via chat to beg for help and he then provided a number to Samsung Emergency Help. However at this exact time my husband was at the house with an unauthorized repair company because we have now been 4 days without a refrigerator and have a house of 6 to provide for. The emergency repair representative said that they cannot help because an unauthorized has touched our appliance. The unauthorized repair man confirmed we had a freon leak which was the reason our temperature was not right in both the refrigerator and freezer compartments in addition to having broken ice makers. The Freon had a 5 year warranty and when a supervisor called me back she said I should have looked at the manual and that that was my responsibility. I reminded her that I told the rep I spoke with everything and I am not too savvy when it comes to diagnosing issues with my refrigerator so I did not know it was the freon, I clearly communicated that the freezer and refrigerator temps where not right and the original rep I communicated that too agreed but still told me I have no warranty so I believed I had no warranty.I was repeatedly blamed for not arguing with the rep about the freon and warranty issue. They blamed me for getting a unauthorized repair man, They said I should have kept calling them when I got no response from their authorized repair facility. The chat rep disconnected/hung up on me (still had questions), when I asked to speak with the supervisor - she stated, You actually spoke with my supervisor already, and went on to explain that her supervisor passed it to her to handle when I requested a supervisor and that I could not speak to anyone else. The supervisor blamed me for not setting an appointment up through them (even after I told her I was clearly told that I have to do it). I did not raise my voice nor did I at anytime use vulgarities or insult anyone that I spoke with.I reminded them that I was a loyal customer with over 14 Samsung products that includes appliances, phones, media equipment, and tables and it meant nothing. I suggested they at least give me a coupon to purchase something else and all was denied. I cannot and will not patronize a company that has such bad service. I talked to Samsung 3 times by phone when I called, 2 time when a supervisor called me, and 2 times by chat and I did not have an acceptable experience. I feel as if the product was defective if everything broke within a week of each other and it was only 2.5 years old. Terrible Service, no I am purchasing a new refrigerator and will not consider a Samsung product again.

Bought this fridge in April 2016 had ice maker replaced November 2016. Ice maker sheet if ice could not use was replaced. Now April 2017 ice maker iced over. Call again for service was told my warranty was expired but they would give me extension to have it replaced again. I called April 17 for service. They set the appointment for 4-28. They text me the name of company ticket number and phone number. Well of course no one showed up or called. I called Samsung repair service, was told the service center cancelled my appointment after I took the day off work. Well anyone that has dealt with Samsung knows they make you so mad you end up hanging up on them. So now to file a complaint with the BBB. As Ive seen all the complaints they cant do anything about it. Samsung should not be allowed to sell this junk.

I have purchased four Samsung appliances within the last four years, and three needed repairs. Microwave, purchased a year and 1/2 ago, needed new keypad which cost $160 repair. My French door refrigerator, purchased four years ago, needed new rear panel and defrost sensor/water build up under deli drawer. This is a common problem we find out. This cost us $185.50 in repair. Front loading washer, purchased three years ago, needed new bellow with repair cost of $137.21. Im very disappointed in Samsung products. I would like someone from Samsung to contact me if there is something they can do to help absorb some of these costs. Do you stand behind your product? I will be building a new home in the near future and will not be considering Samsung appliances.

In April 2010, purchased the Samsung RF267 AEPN refrigerator. Three years later, the refrigerator was making a horrible sound. A few days later, the cooling stopped and we lost all the food in the refrigerator and freezer. Cause? Lots of ice had formed; the fan was hitting it, causing the noise. New evap. fan $256. A few months later, the same thing happened. Today, we are experiencing this same problem, again. This refrigerator is 4 yrs old. Apparently we arent the only ones... What can we do? To start, I will never purchase another Samsung appliance.

Samsung refrigerator not cooling bought 11 months ago. I am hoping for a fair solution from Samsung but not pleased with all the reviews that suggest that Samsung will not honor the one year warranty that it was sold with. If Lowes is to keep carrying Samsung refrigerators, the Samsung company needs to honor warranties and know how to fix their products. I am still asking for the warranty to be honored; they say it is out of warranty which it will be next week. I hope to get a repair this week and not need to take other action.

I have a stainless steel French door bottom freezer refrigerator. Unfortunately my refrigerator stopped working after only one year. I contacted Samsung immediately, they informed me that a repairman would be in touch soon. Two days later Samsung contacted me to say they did not have any repair people to assist us, but that they would refund our refrigerator and also for our food loss. It took months to get out refund we also never received food compensation loss. Customer service was incompetent and not knowledgeable of our situation. Stay away from Samsung products because when they stop working for whatever reason the company will not help you. Trust me this has been a horrible experience.

I bought a beautiful Samsung refrigerator in July. It has water/ice on the door and a second climate drawer. Laid out perfectly - plenty of storage. In August, we noticed it was leaking water under the filter so we replaced the filter and it didnt improve. We turned off the water to the fridge and the leak continued. We called a repairman, through Samsung, and waited a couple of days for him to come. He diagnosed a broken valve and had to order a replacement part that he thought would take 8-10 days. When I hadnt heard back in 3 weeks, I called the repair company and they said the part was back ordered. They suggested I contact Samsung to get an estimated delivery time. Thus began 6 weeks of me contacting Samsung, spending hours on the phone, asking the same question, repeating the same story to every person I spoke with. Finally, I could stand it no longer and begged to be escalated. I finally found out there was no estimated time - no one knew if this part would ever be available. In the meantime, I have to daily mop up the water that comes out and floods under the produce bins; the second drawer is not usable because the water fills it and freezes. It ruins any food packaging. The water also spills out the drawers onto the floors and my hardwood floors are now damaged. I was escalated to Jaz. What a disappointment. She ignored my calls for days and only finally tried to speak with me when I hit 0 from her voice mail and begged another rep to help me. This lady definitely needs additional training in handling angry customers. She ultimately offered to swap the fridge, a frustrating process because we have a small opening and in your newer model of this fridge, youve added side vents that arent included in the specs and wont fit the opening. We finally came to a solution on October 31 and she 100% guaranteed that the new fridge would arrive on November 14 at the latest. On November 17th, I called at the end of the day to say I still hadnt received the fridge, not that I was surprised at this point. She committed to getting back to me once she found out where it was. She left me a message at noon the following day to say that the fridge was with a local delivery company and she would call back when she had a time estimate. I called again today, November 19, and left another message. Its been almost 3 months since I could use my fridge properly. I still have to mop up the leaking water and theres a whole section of the fridge I cant even put food in, not to mention no ice or water. She did offer me $150 as repayment for food spoilage, but I have not seen hide nor hair of that either. This is the WORST experience Ive ever had with an electronics manufacturer and I still have no idea when it will be resolved.

Purchased a RF267AERS/XAA French door model with bottom freezer. After 2 years, ice maker quit working and started freezing over and leaking water. 2 attempts to repair have failed by a certified Samsung repair specialist. I have read all the reviews with some of the same problems. I think a class action law suit is warranted especially since these are design defects from the start. Samsung is a HORRIBLE company must be made in North Korea!! I experienced the same POOR customer service from Samsung as everyone. I bought this refrigerator/freezer, Model # RF26XAEPN43FE4BZ100091T, in latter part of March or early April 2010. The refrigerator stopped cooling on Thanksgiving evening. I had to rent a refrigerator to store all of my leftover food. Plus the other items I had in the refrigerator. It was under warranty. The repairman didnt come until the next week. It was frozen in the back. It was repaired and two other times the same thing happened. When the warranty ran out, I gave up on having it fixed. It began to freeze all of vegetables and fruits. Also, anything liquid. I called Samsung Tuesday 5/02/2017. I was told that I would have to have a technician come out and assess the problem. I called again on 5/03/2017. Silly me I thought that they were going to cover the $125.00 for the tech. I proceeded to question the person that I was talking to. He kept putting me on hold, because he could not answer my questions.I finally asked if I could send a letter or speak to someone who could authorize payment for the tech and the repairs. I was told that my appliance was out of warranty. I already knew that. The phone person told me someone higher up will contact me. The odds of that happening are less than one out of a trillion. My icemaker does not work. The door freezes; I stopped messing with it. I just wanted to vent my frustration, so now I have. I will never buy another Samsung product. I have been unable to locate my receipt; I bought the product at Lowes in Newport News, VA.

Updated on 09/27/2019: 4 Broken Ice Makers in 7 years. I have a side-by-side RSG307AARS Samsung refrigerator with 29.6 cu. ft. I purchased in July 2012. The ice maker has broken 4 times. The sensor that controls the paddle arm that ejects the ice cubes has failed each time. The first time it broke, Samsung paid as it was still under warranty. The second time being out of warranty, I paid $400, including parts and labor to replace. The third time I paid for labor only. This latest time Samsung says I have to pay all. Ive contacted their CEO through Email and phone to make them realize that the ice maker and subsequent ice makers have a defective sensor and like an automobile should be recalled and repaired at their expense with a sensor that wont break every year and a half. They refuse. I will never buy a Samsung product again; from what Ive read on the Internet, their refrigerators are the worst. Should have done my homework better 7 years ago. Let that be a warning. I have finally decided to junk it and Wednesday went to Lowes and bought a Whirlpool on sale with an extended 5 year warranty. And, if I never use the warranty, I get money refunded. Whats the chance of that?Original Review: Purchased refrigerator (RSG307AARS) Jul. 2012. Ice maker stopped making ice Oct. 2012. Repairman had to replace the ice maker and 2 circuit boards; this repair was warranted. Per repairman, this was a known issue with Samsung. Feb. 2015 ice maker stopped making ice again; the lever under the ice maker cover thats supposed to come down after each round of ice cubes are dumped into the bucket and sense if more ice should be made stopped working. Repairman determines the ice maker needs to be replaced again. The gears for the same lever are broken. Called Samsung, even talked to a supervisor (maybe). Samsungs bottom line - its out of warranty so they wont do anything to keep me as a future customer. My bottom line - I wont buy another Samsung product.

Our $2323.95 Samsung refrigerator (RFG297HD) was purchased less than 3 years ago. We were under the impression (albeit falsely so) that Samsung products were superior in quality, and that this company stood behind the integrity of its products. NOT!!! We have already had to replace the ice maker and the freezer fan assembly. After speaking to three different phone operators (all of which represented a series of going-through-the-proverbial-policy-motions), I finally was put into the ECR department in hopes of speaking to someone, who had not already been thoroughly programmed into the mechanical answers representing Samsung androidism. Suffice it to say, I hit wall, after wall, after wall after Wall. The only so-to-speak courtesy I was offered was to spend some additional money to buy into another year of protection. Really? I am sorry, but when I spend this kind of money for a product, I expect quality performance for a little longer than two years before it start breaking down, leading me to dig into my pocketbook again. Moreover, to spend additional money for extended warranties on products (i.e. Samsung products) highly suggests that Samsung does not want to be held responsible for its own technical errors or designed failures.

I wish I had read the reviews prior to purchasing. From day one the fridge did not work. I called samsung, they were going to get a repair guy out but the first available was 8 days away. It was new and it should work from day one. So I wrote a nasty letter to samsung. Then told homedepot that I was going to return it and find a company that valued my business. I bought the refrigerator from Lowes 5/5/09. Lowes delivered six units before finding one with properly spaced doors. The first indication that I might have purchased a defective product became evident when the ice maker malfunctioned. There was a weekly ice jam inside the compartment. If it wasnt cleared, the ice was no longer dispensed. When kept empty the ice maker worked, dumping ice into the door with sound that could only be likened to that heard at a bowling alley. It would cause me to jump out of bed during the night.Soon after the jams appeared, I began to find pieces of white plastic in drinks when the ice dispenser was used. Over a year ago I began to see rust coming through the finish around the water/ice dispenser. I notified Samsung early on when the ice maker was jamming up and was told I needed to schedule an appointment for service. Well, forget that! There is no one who services Samsung where I live. Yes, there is a dealer in a nearby town, but they refused to service what they didnt sell!I was fed up with this unsightly appliance and decided to post my problem on Samsung Appliance USA Facebook page. I received the typical Samsung condescending response, You need to schedule a service call. Read my lips Samsung, there is no service. Ill get rid of this one and try another. I dont recommend buying anything from Samsung just because of the attitude regarding SERVICE! They will not stand behind their product. No, this isnt my first time experiencing a problem with Samsung!

I purchased my Samsung refrigerator model #RS265TDBP in July 2010 from Best Buy. In early 2012, the computer board display on my refrigerator couldnt be read. It appeared to be working fine, you just couldnt read it and I had no idea what the temperature was. Since it only had a year warranty, the Samsung Certified Repair in my area came out to fix it at a cost of $200.00. Then in July of 2012, my refrigerator stopped getting cold. The freezer was fine, but the fridge stopped. We again called the Samsung certified person that had done the repairs before, but they said they only issued a 30-day warranty on the computer board (which we were told by another tech was the problem). We decided to go with another repair company that gave a 5-year warranty on parts. They came out and said there was a block of ice on the fan motor, which caused it to blow out the circuit board and the computer board. Now to fix it was over $300. Now just two weeks ago, Dec 2012, the exact same thing happened again. The fridge got warm, food spoiled, no fan running and the smell of burnt circuit board. We called the company who did the repairs and had them come out again to inspect. Lo and behold, it is the exact same problem. Since they gave us a 5-year warranty on the part, they are paying for the new parts but we still have to come up with the $140 labor. I contacted Samsung to tell them about the defective unit and see if they could do anything to help as it looks like we are going to have to repair this every 3-4 months or purchase a new one. All they said was its too old and there is nothing they can do. Really? Its less than 3 years old. Never buy a Samsung refrigerator! My refrigerator is a lemon.

I fixed the ice machine by following manufacturer instructions and defrosted completely and it worked. When the refrigerator stopped, I called Samsung and they provided a set of instructions to reboot the refrigerator and it worked for about 10 days and then it stopped chilling appropriately. After calling Samsung again, they sent two different technicians who both said the compressor was broken. After a lot of calls and hassle over the course of 5 weeks, I still dont have it fixed or replaced. They are estimating an additional 2-3 weeks for the replacement under warranty. The service has been opaque, slow, unreliable (never call when they say they will) and overall horrible. I do not recommend buying a Samsung appliance and I never will again.

So, I purchase my house in May with all new appliances. I notice from the get-go that the refrig. didnt seem to cool enough for my taste. I thought it was just me, but by the end of May I was already having more issues with the refrigerator. The fan was making a horrible sound. By the time the tech showed up which was over a week later. The fan had stopped working and I had to get rid of all the food. He replaced the sensor and water line. It has now been a week since then and my fan is starting to make the sound again. I called the tech because his phone number was on the receipt he left me. He told me that I had to go back to Samsung and start the process all over. So, that means all my food will spoil again! Do not buy this refrigerator!

I purchased a set of 4 Samsung kitchen appliance in August. Shortly we found out that the food in the refrigerator freezes and the freezer’s ice maker stopped dispensing ice. Since it was 2 weeks since we bought it, I went to the Home Depot where we bought them to exchange it, but they stated that they will only return or exchange on the first three days and that we have to contact Samsung to repair it which it didn’t make me happy to hear that knowing that they don’t stand behind the products they sell. The manager said if Samsung attempts to fix it three times and the issue still not fixed then they will change it. So, I called Samsung and they started a ticket. Since then, it has been 2 months and several trips by the Samsung’s repairman, they were able to fix the ice maker, but the fridge still freezes the food and now when opening and closing the door the whole fridge makes a loud squeaking sound. On the last trip, the repairman contacted Samsung and stated that they have changed all parts they could, and the issue is still there. Samsung viewed the temperature difference and frozen food through a video conference with the repairman. They stated that it is the way that fridge is designed and do not put food in the back of refrigerator. I could not believe what I heard, and the repairman stated that he has done what he could. He wrote the report and left. In disbelief, I called Samsung customer service. The person helping me could not even access the ticket number to see the history and kept on trying to schedule a repair. When I asked to speak to a manager, somehow, she found a way to view the repair history and stated that she is noting the issue and a manager from the refund and exchange will contact me on Monday. So far no one has contacted me. We have been a Samsung family so far from our phones to TV, appliance etc. but starting to look into other manufacturers as the product quality and service is not there anymore. I hope they resolve this issue soon as possible as I cannot use my brand-new refrigerator. I try not to put food in it, because I have to through them away after a day.

I have a 5 year old Samsung French door refrigerator. The refrigerator compartment is cooled by what they call a cooling tower. This is a very poor design. It frosts up behind the panel and the fan stops working and the fridge wont cool. I defrosted mine but it didnt help. Service replaced the cooling tower and within 45 days I was having same problem. After some very poor local service they are going to replace the cooling tower again. The replacement part is noisy and fridge temp bounces between 42 and 50 while set at 34. I wont buy another Samsung fridge. A fridge should last at least 10 years. I had to replace a $200 board for the freezer after 2 years. After paying 3 $90 service fees, $116 for tower and $32 for drain kit I have spent over $600 total in repairs for this fridge in 5 years.

Samsung Refrigerator RF32FMQDBSR problems - After a year I noticed the ice maker bin getting harder and harder to remove and finally it froze up so solid it took 4 hours to thaw and remove the ice bin. It did this again within a month. After some researching I find this is a problem others are having also. Since that second thaw I have been removing ice build up under the ice bin weekly to keep it from freezing up again but its getting worse. It does this whether the ice maker is on or off. After watching this appliance for the last couple of months, I have concluded the drain line for the ice maker defrost has frozen up stopping the drain path of the ice maker defrost melt, which now overflows to under the ice bin and refreezes. This is an obvious bad design with no clear fix in sight. If I were to clear this drain line (dont know how) it will do it again in a year from buildup of ice. The other issue is that ice maker cannot dispense cubed ice, again poor design.

The representative then stated that it would be sometime in November before they could ship the fridge. I requested to speak with her supervisor. I opted to wait on hold. I was connected with the team lead, who informed me that there was nothing that she could offer. I informed her that I had already paid for the refrigerator in July. She advised that if I didn’t want to wait until November, I should cancel my order.I have received zero compassion, support, or transparency since July 20th. I have a Samsung refrigerator SN#JKJ44BBFB069***, model # RF263BEAESR/AA. It was purchased in Jan, 2015. Under the extended warranty that I purchased from Best Buy the unit has had three service calls: to replace the evaporator cover and new style drain tubes, and the evaporator cover again (fan making noise), as well as the ice-maker and ice auger. The 5 year extended warranty expired in January 2020. Not long after the warranty expired it developed an over and under-cooling issue. I contacted Samsung for out of warranty service, but they had no service technicians in my area. I contacted Best Buy and they referred me to Samsung. I had two different local appliance repair services attempt the repair. The first company, after the service call was unsuccessful, returned all my money rather than continue to attempt repair. The second company was partially successful; they replaced the refrigerator compartment thermistor three times, the mainboard was replaced twice, the unit still over-cools (under-cooling seems to be fixed). They had no ideas as how to proceed from there. Being as it was working: with the temperature set at 44F, and a measured refrigerator temperature of 34-36F, we continued to use it without attempting further repair. Recently it has returned to its severe overcooling ways: temperature is set at 44F, with a measured refrigerator temperature of 28-30F. I contacted Samsung for a service call, Samsung is still (16 months later) unable to schedule a repair tech as there is no one to service the Asheville, NC area. Best Buy again referred me to Samsung. I have called other local appliance service centers, and they all decline to work on the unit, one suggested that I throw it away and buy any other brand?! By the way this company was recommended by Samsung.

If it were possible to give zero stars I would do so. We paid nearly $2000 for this refrigerator less than 4 years ago. We got only 1 year of trouble-free use out of it. Right after the 1-year warranty expired the ice-maker started completely freezing over, making it unusable unless we manually defrosted it. Even though the unit was out of warranty Samsung agreed to repair it for free. Repairman came out, made the repair but said we WOULD have trouble with the unit again. Indeed, and sadly, his prediction was highly accurate as a year later we started having the exact same problem. Now Samsung wants to charge us $525 to fix it AND they only offer a 90-day warranty. Samsung, they make cellphones that catch on fire and refrigerators that only work properly for a year. AVOID this companys products at all costs. They are not to be relied on. The government should do something about them but Im not holding my breath waiting for that to happen.

My refrigerator stopped working so I called the number on the refrigerator. Thinking even though it was out of warranty No one better than having a Samsung service pro to fix my Refrigerator. So I made the call on Friday the 14th to set up a service. I was told someone would contact me within 48 hours. On Monday 4 days later I still have not been contacted so I called Samsung again. At this time they informed me that I should have been contacted by service company on the 14th. They gave me the number to call the service company myself so I did. The service company informed me that they had informed Samsung on Friday the 14th that I was out of their service area but Samsung never contacted me to let me know. The Samsung call center overseas was very unprofessional and would not even let me to talk to a supervisor then proceeded to tell me that my warranty was over just call someone else. So now on Tuesday Samsung informs me there are no service companies in my Zip code. So I have waited 5 days to get my Refrigerator repaired and now Im calling Sears. After buying ice for 5 days trying to salvage my food its all being thrown away. I will never purchase a Samsung Again only because of the poor service center.

Thanks Again Samsung USA. Well here I am again folks. I talked with a Supervisor from the Executive Desk about my problems with customer support and about the Fridge (Samsung French Door Refrigerator RF323TEDBSR/AA). Wow can you believe they are truly a company that will buy back your product for less than you paid and they stick together on all levels of Customer service? And after talking with him he also tells me I have 14 days from the date of the email of the offer from them and thats the end. Another WOW. So here it is -- 2017.00 Samsung French door Refrigerator, 80.00 Delivery, 15.00 new water line (required), 370.00 Extended warranty, 148.00 Sales tax -- Approx. 2622.00 Total spent 1 1/2 year ago. They are willing to buy it back for 756.00. Should I be happy??? I can assure you I am not. If they admit there is a problem and their warranty ran out last August, why would they be willing to buy it back??? And I am suppose to accept this GREAT LOSS? Not without a fight. I have made many calls to them and emails to get paperwork to them, faxes to them on the same paperwork. And was asked again today to email the original contract again, 4 emails-efaxes they didnt get, 2 phone faxes that didnt show the total price. But this final email today showed it all to the young man I sent to while I kept him on the line. So tell me should I just let it go? And top of it all, their policy is before that refund can come, you have to cut the cord from the fridge, wrap it with labels from inside fridge with S/N and model around the cord and take a picture and wait on your refund. Now common sense tells me that if I do that I will lose all my stuff in the fridge and freezer and wait till their refund arrives and then purchase a new fridge plus fork out about 850.00 to replace it with what I bought 17 months after I bought it originally. I wish I could make some sort of sense out that policy??? Would love some feedback on this and would love for anyone with this sort of issue to also SHARE this so others may avoid what we are going through. Thank you Samsung USA.

We purchased a Samsung Side by Side Refrigerator from Home Depot in May 2014 for $3,100.00 and paid an additional fee for a (4) four-year extended warranty from Home Depot. Samsung only offers a (1) one-year manufacturers warranty. Our first repair service call was with SAMSUNG on June 2014 for a defective ice maker that needed replacement and was subsequently replaced. Our next service call was December 2014, due to a failed ice maker AGAIN. Our third repair service call was in December 2015, the ice maker wasnt making ice consistently and it was also making CRUSHED ICE in the CUBE MODE, and water DRIPS was constantly falling from the ice bin down into the cup dispenser and rolling down the front of the stainless steel refrigerator constantly staining it. The ice maker also began a HUMMING NOISE. The repair service rep said the ice blades in the ice bin were weak and causing the CRUSHED ICE. He said this was a Samsung DESIGN FLAW that cant be fixed. WE paid good money for this SAMSUNG product and all we got was repeated problems and customer service delays. Now Home Depot refuses to honor their (4) four-year EXTENDED WARRANTY. We are demanding replacement of this SAMSUNG refrigerator for another MORE RELIABLE UNIT. If this is the so-called quality of a Top-of-the-Line SAMSUNG refrigerator, WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND THAT NO ONE BUY A SAMSUNG REFRIGERATOR.

Even though I have had two visits from a professional and had one part replaced, the fridge suffers from major ice buildup problems. At first it was ice and water in the bottom of the fridge. I purchased a Samsung french door refrigerator model #RF23HCEDBSR/AA at Home Depot on July 4, 2016 to replace my still working 23 year old Kenmore refrigerator/freezer. I also purchased a 2 year extended warranty on it. Two weeks ago I noticed anything liquid being refrigerated was freezing solid. Internet research says most likely the main control board has failed and will need to be replaced. The part runs about $130. I contacted Home Depot and they gave me the purchase order number but claim that I didnt purchase an extended warranty. Unfortunately, I cant locate my receipt. I did register the fridge with Samsung. I contacted Samsung and they advised me the fridge was out of warranty. To have it serviced would cost $160 just to come to my home and diagnose it. Parts and labor would be extra. So Im looking at a minimal of $300 to fix something that shouldnt have crapped out after fifteen months. After reading that thousands of other US consumers are dealing with similar issues with their Samsung appliance purchases, Im convinced this will be my last Samsung purchase until they make good on customer complaints and take action concerning quality control.

Spent $2,000 on rf263 beae sr. Excessive water collecting in chute and draining out of and sometimes into fridge. Repairman came and replaced dispenser door, didnt correct problem, then ice maker didnt work, approx 11 months old. Icemaker replaced, broke 3 months later, no longer under warranty. Didnt get anywhere with Samsung. Have been manually making ice for my $2,000 refrigerator for over a year. Bought a replacement ice maker. Doesnt work. I personally will never buy another Samsung product. I wish someone would start another class action suit. This is ridiculous. I replaced an 18 year old fridge that, yes, was out of style but never had any problems.

I bought my fridge about two years ago from Lowes, and, no, I did not get the extended warranty (however, I now understand that is VERY important in order to get service on problems). The last conversation I had with Samsung was that they do NOT have a repairman in the Charleston, SC area!!! In the beginning when the ice maker froze, I contacted Samsung and learned how to reset it over the phone. Being retired, I was very impressed that I could do that rather than having to have a service person come out. After repeated calls to Samsung, on the same issue, they sent a repairman to fix the problem. However, I had to ask why I was having to pay anything since this is a well-known problem with Samsung AND that I am aware of the class action suit against Samsung.Since I am having to reset/defrost every 2 months, I am looking for a different brand. I love the fridge but it is too labor intensive to fix the problem that often. BTW, the repairman told me Samsung does a stop-gap fix and if that doesnt work, they may replace the ice maker. But Samsung says the repair is on me. However, Samsung is digging its heels in and leaves the customer hanging. Guess they have enough customers. But do they have repeat customers. Do they not understand the absolute value of repeat business???? The class action law suit is supposedly going to mediation in June, and hopefully, a resolution will be forthcoming.

I spent about $1500 on this fridge and it should have lasted longer than this. Now I have either buy a new one or keep buying a yearly warranty. How is this refrigerator not on a recall list? We purchased a 2 door, 2 drawer Samsung refrigerator at a cost of approximately $4,000.00, 3 years ago. The fridge stopped working a few months ago. We had an appliance repair company that was referred to us by Home Depot for this brand. The circuit board was defective. Samsung stopped making that particular circuit board and refused a solution for the repair of our fridge. After checking out the Samsung service of parts for repair, we found out they do not support the repair companies with parts or solutions. Therefore we had to dispose of our 3 year old fridge and buy a new one for about the same cost. What happened to refrigerators that last 10 to 15 years??? I would caution anyone when it comes to Samsung refrigerators, BUY ANOTHER BRAND!!!

Samsung RF217 - I purchased this model (32) after installing a 36 Samsung in my mothers house. I was impressed with the larger model and expected similar results. My initial displeasure with this model was only two door shelves are full depth, so youre limited to 2 shelves that measure about 6x 10 for tall items. The interior shelves have little flexibility and only allow for a maximum height of 9.5, so a lot of my tall items have to lie down (and hopefully dont leak). But my main complaint is one month after the warranty expired (there is 5 years on the refrigeration system), I began noticing water in the produce drawers, a lot. I emptied and cleaned the drawers till today, finally Id had enough and spent 2 hours melting the ice that blocked the drain tube. Lowes would not cover the cost of a service call since it was out of warranty and Samsung will not admit they have a design flaw. If you research this problem you will find it is a common occurrence, so I cannot recommend this refrigerator or brand until they remedy my problem.

Samsung top freezer RT21M62135R, nominally 21 cubic feet, is fairly capacious. Unfortunately the lighting in the refrigerator section is front mounted and everything in the rear disappears into the shadows - keep a flashlight handy. The freezer also has a light, something my prior refrigerator did not have. I really like the slide and reach shelf for deli type items - very convenient. The door storage is a bit inflexible. I ordered the model without an ice maker, they shipped it to me anyway despite my attempt to stop it, which they ignored (customer service in the US is impossible to contact - they switched me to Indonesia (sic)! (Consider that I bought this model for energy efficiency, then they ship something I do not want - pure waste.) Even though they took the door off, the delivery service still managed to put eight dents in the door - too easy to dent.

Had service tech come out (cost $60) and he said valve noise was normal... All fridge compressors make it... Nothing can be done. Still annoyingly noisy when compressor comes on. Seems am stuck with it. Next time will buy some brand OTHER than Samsung and check consumer reviews first.

Lights went out in Control panel on door almost immediately after purchase
Lights went out in Control panel on door almost immediately after purchase (service person made some adjustment that lasted a while and then it went out again, next service call we were told it was not covered under warranty). Unit started freezing up under deli tray while water leaked into the veggie bins, one ice maker would freeze up, the other poured water out of the door flooding the floor on several occasions, and of course it was out of warranty by this time so we finally had the ice makers shut off. It continues to leak water underneath the unit so our beautiful Samsung refrigerator sits in the garage so we dont have any more floors to replace. Samsung knowingly and without accepting responsibility continues to sell theses defective refrigerators to consumers without regard to the hardships it created both financially and emotionally. These are not warranty issues, it is defective design flaws. We are very disappointed and dissatisfied with Samsung and our Samsung refrigerator.

We purchased our Samsung RS261MDRS/XAA a Little less than 5 years ago. It has been a nightmare. The first week, we had to call the company because the refrigerator was not cooling properly. We had a technician come by to fix it. Perhaps it was a computer problem. The refrigerator would not cool properly, and the freezer would frost up. The very first years we had several people try to fix the freezing of the back panel problem. We have nursed it along, but less than 5 years of ownership, for the second or third time, we have had to move all of our food elsewhere to keep from losing it. The fan made a loud clatter, then nothing. Food kept getting warmer - who knows whats safe, so we had to throw it all away again! Samsung is over their head with refrigerators- cell phones, not so much. Buy at your own risk.

We bought a Samsung RF26J7500SR 3 door refrig eleven months ago. WHAT A POS. The refrig compartment fan system keeps freezing up (repairman said its an inherent design error! ), preventing it from staying cold. We threw out everything inside on Labor day as all the food spoiled waiting the 12 days for the repairman. Then I was told we had to reschedule since the refrig needed to be unplugged for 48 hours for all the internal ice covering the fan blades to melt. On the return visit days later parts were replaced and a factory anti-freezing kit installed. Now, two months later, the fridge is full of Thanksgiving leftovers and its warm inside again, seems like the same problem. Samsung customer service can only confirm its broken, gave me the number of a local repair guy that will fix it under warranty. I assume the repairman will give me an appointment 12 days from when they call me back, which was how long it took for them to come to the house for the first repair!!! Looks like we will throw out everything again. What a joke. I will have to take another vacation day to wait for the repairman. Anyone who buys a Samsung refrigerator needs their head examined!!! I will never ever buy another Samsung appliance of any kind.

Now another year and a half later the same thing is happening and the service rep told us they have a fix for the first fix. We have to wait an entire week to get our refrigerator back to working order. The parts need to be ordered and it has to thaw out to get the back panel off. Called Samsung again and this time the manager of the woman I talked to said they will not cover the parts because the warranty had run out. I have a Maytag refrigerator that we use for beverages that has run for 24 years with no problems and dont know what I would do without it. No more Samsung for us. Paid for a Samsung Refrigerator. Picked it up from the retailing Store 3 months later. I was given a Pickup invoice on which the Retailer indicated the date of sale and the date of pickup. However, the unit developed some problems. I called Samsung (Manufacturer Warranty). They insisted that it was over one year I paid for the unit and as such was out of warranty. I went to the Retailer who gave me a letter and also wrote Samsung to clear the air on this issue. The letter clearly outlined the day I reserved the unit and the day I picked it up and asked Samsung to extend to me the warranty from the date I picked up the refrigerator.Every time I contacted Samsung, the customer service agents claim they never received the letter from the Retailer. I had to send it to them again and again and again. Ive done this over 6 times. They always claim they never received it and as such would not authorize a repair of my refrigerator. I am tired of all these and intend to look for a repair technician who will repair it. I will then go to Small Claims court to file a claim against Samsung for the repair and loss of use of my refrigerator including costs of damaged foods. I called the Customer Service once again for their mailing address to send them the court papers. The agent I spoke to refused giving it to me. Said I should email it. How can I email the original court papers? Even if I can, to an email address they never admit to receiving my emails at? Finally, I will quit patronizing SAMSUNG products!

2500.00 wasted. Samsung would not repair/replace our 3 year old refrigerator that had compressor failure due to what they call physical damage. Micro holes in the copper lines to the compressor caused the compressor to fail. Samsung claims the sulfur in the air of our house caused the failure. The warranty is 5 years parts and labor, 10 years parts. They charged us 100.00 to diagnose the problem. We talked them down from 200.00 because we already had a repair man confirm the compressor failed. He stated that the copper lines are really thin and cheap. Samsung had to have their own people check it. We do have well water but it is treated and we never hooked up the water to the refrigerator. Samsungs recommendation to us was to coat the lines with a good paint to protect them. We did not have any issues with the Whirlpool refrigerator we had prior to this Samsung. Has anyone else had a similar problem? We think the warranty should have mentioned an exclusion for sulfur in the air and we think they should honor the warranty. We will not purchase Samsung products ever again, poor customer service.

I would like to report a flaw in the design of the French Door refrigerator
I would like to report a flaw in the design of the French Door refrigerator with bottom freezer drawer-model number RF260BEAESP/AA. The ice maker allows ice to exit the rear of the unit when the freezer drawer is pulled open for removal of frozen food or for ice removal. The ice then is deposited on the freezer floor. This not only wastes ice, it creates a collection of ice cubes which eventually inhibit the secure closing of the freezer drawer. Eventually, the incomplete seal of the closure allows frost to build up on the contents of the freezer. I would hope that Samsung redesigns the ice maker and its location within the freezer drawer.

I assured him the one year old water filter was not the problem but he guaranteed me it would fix the problem. Of course it did not. Because you know you are going to be on hold with them forever I waited several months to call again. Now the door flap on the left side door has had a spring broken and does not close properly. Called again they finally agreed to send someone out to look at it. Need a new door flap ($80) and when I described the ice problem the tech says oh yeah, I have fixed lots of those. I have a three-year-old Samsung side-by-side fridge that cost me $1000. Suddenly last month, it started to make a noise like a motorboat. I didnt think that a fridge less than 3 years old should be having issues, as I have had many refrigerators that lasted me 15 years or more with no repairs needed. None were Samsung. Well, I called Samsung and they were not willing to do anything for me. I had to call and ask for a supervisor who was not willing to make any concessions. Finally, after telling me multiple times that the fridge is out of warranty, she says she will pay for the parts but I had to pay for the installation myself.I am on a fixed budget and the repairman, theirs, wanted $250.00 to do the job. My son can do it for me for free - all we needed was the part. So I asked them to send me the parts then for free as they offered, but she said no, I HAD to use their service people or it would void the warranty. What warranty? Didnt you just tell me 5 times that I was out of warranty? She said it would void the warranty. This is a runaround and I am looking to find out if anyone else is having this problem with their fridge. The evaporation coil freezes up on the fridge side, and I was told I needed a Temperature Defrost sensor. I found one locally and am going to install it myself, but I had to make twenty phone calls in order to find one. The part costs $11!! Rip off company, lousy products and poor customer service. Had a problem with the ice maker in my Samsung fridge (Samsung RFAERS266). Followed all the troubleshooting suggestions in the book, online, at the Samsung site, and on the phone with Samsung tech support. Finally scheduled an appointment for service through Samsung, technician arrived, unplugged the unit, plugged it back in, said that was all that was necessary to reset the computer, and left with my $100.00!! I wrote to Samsung and told them as a courtesy to their customers, this fix should have been somewhere in their literature or on their site. I was contacted by a rep from their customer service department, basically was told sorry, nothing they could do about it. I did request that they would at least publish this information along with their other troubleshooting suggestions. To date, I have not seen this information on their site. Just want to let others know to try this fix before paying for service call. There was NOTHING else wrong with my unit. Somehow the computer had lost its brain and needed to be reset. This happened out of the blue. No power outages precipitated this event. Very frustrating!! This was the third service call in three years on this expensive appliance. Would not buy another.

I purchased the fridge (RF32FMQDBSR/AA) 3 years ago through South East Stee
I purchased the fridge (RF32FMQDBSR/AA) 3 years ago through South East Steel (SES). Immediately it was evident the ice maker was defective. Problems included no full size ice cubes, leaking constantly and requiring manual defrost and reset whenever door was left open more than a few seconds, for example if loading a large grocery order. It took quite a while for SES to respond to my concern. The repairman Samsung sent, while under warranty, pierced the mechanism with an ice pick, left in anger, and it took months to receive a replacement part and installation. Problem unsolved. I then went back through SES who took so long to get a repair request to Samsung, the warranty expired. Samsung did make the concession of sending out a repairman who said this model was known for its leaky ice maker, there was nothing he could do and to call the company periodically as it should soon be covered by a recall. I called every 4-6 months for over a year and a half to be told each time Samsung was aware of the problem and there was no remedy. Finally, the ice maker stopped working all together. I then called Sears Repair. The workman told me that this model was being replaced for any Sears customer with a long-term contract because Samsung was so unresponsive regarding the ice maker defects. He told me class action suits were pending. He did order a new motor. The second Sears technician who showed up to replace the $392 part told me it was a upgraded part for the ice maker. All problems resolved! So if Samsung knew about the problem and upgraded its ice maker motor, why wasnt it covered as part of a recall. And why, in all the calls and queries I made was I not told that upgraded replacement parts were available. And finally since this part solved the problem reported while under warranty, why isnt at least the cost of the part covered? Total repair was $600. I am asking for cost of the part. So far it has fallen on deaf ears at 1-800 SAMSUNG I am awaiting a supervisors supervisor call back. Wish me luck. Otherwise the fridge seems well designed and working well.

We did buy the extended warranty so that covered the fix but a year after that the same thing happened but this time the fridge was no longer cooling at all and it had ice. Once again they came out and fixed it. I got tired of calling for repairs so I started removing the ice from the back as needed the best I could. Also the ice machine went completely out so I just bought ice trays. About 2 years ago the freezer gave out completely. I called a repair person but it was going to be over $800 to fix. It was blocked with ice on the bottom once the ice was removed. Now it doesn’t cool down at all. This fridge is a $2,000 piece of junk. NEVER AGAIN. I should have went with a cheap basic fridge.

I purchased a Samsung Refrigerator in 2013. 2-Door Side By Side with Model # RS263TD1BP. This refrigerator was manufactured in 2012 which has a design problem. Ice builds around the cooling coils which allows the refrigerator to completely shutdown. The refrigerator only maintains temperatures at the bottom, and is hot throughout all levels of the unit. Apparently the sensor that is attached to the cooling system which does not regulate the system to adjust after it reaches a certain temperature. A service repairman removed the back panel and had to take a steamer to defrost the ice. It took over 55 minutes to defrost the ice and replace the back panel. This is a design and manufacturing problem. Samsung knew that this problem exist, but continues to put this product on the market for customers to purchase. The warranty states that this should be covered, but Samsung refuses to acknowledge that this issue is not covered, and is left up to the customer to pay for their mistake. I have contacted Samsung over 25 times, and cant get to the Executive Level. I am sharing my level of frustration because the average lifetime of any household appliance should be longer than 3 years. Refrigerators are suppose to last. This is a design problem and all of these refrigerators should be RECALLED! Customers that purchased the SAMSUNG REFRIGERATOR THAT HAS THE BOTTOM PULL OUT FREEZER EXPERIENCE THIS PROBLEM several years ago and their units were replaced. Apparently, the problem is now existing in the 2-door side by side units as well.THERE IS A MALFUNCTION WITH THE COOLING SYSTEM. ICE BUILDS UP AROUND THE COPPER COILS WHICH CAUSES THE REFRIGERATOR TO stop regulating temperatures evenly throughout the refrigerator. The top and middle of the refrigerator is extremely hot and the bottom is extremely cold. Samsung should issue a recall of these appliances because they knew it was defected before putting these refrigerators on the market.Samsung Refrigerators are not constructed very well and apparently, this product does not have longevity. Too many consumers are complaining about this particular product. If complaints are being made, Samsung is aware of this malfunction and should take total responsibility and implement a recall. Samsung knew that this product was defective. A refrigerator is a household appliance that should last about on the average of 15-20 years. I sought out to buy a new refrigerator, a Samsung not because of need but desire. I was remodeling my kitchen, and I owned an Amana for 17 years. AND - this refrigerator never had one problem.

Nothing has happened, thats the problem. We have had issues since we purchased it in March 2014. Almost immediately the popping and hissing noises started. The company said thats common but its cooling, right? If I wanted a noisy refrigerator I would have ask for one. Then during power outages it wont allow you to reset it for 24 hours. It reads as a freezer error and requires a technician to visit. So you have to wait 24 hours to find out if there is or isnt an issue to report. You cant reach anyone except online after 5 or on the weekends. So if your fridge goes down Friday at 5 you are at the mercy of a Tyler on the Samsung website who says the same thing every time...... this error needs a technician, here is a number or can an email. Then the wait. We are on the phone for the first time with a foreign speaking woman who is giving us the......a technician will call you in 24 hours. Meanwhile we have an airplane in our kitchen and no idea if our food will survive. The technician will call to set up a time within 24 hours. No idea when the actual guy will make it to our house. Worse experience I have ever had with a company. Never will I buy from them again.

I purchased Samsung fridge two months back and a week after delivery, I noticed a huge ice under the bottom of the drawer and water inside the bottom drawer. I removed the ice and saw the same thing the next day again and every day after that. I called the brick warranty department and they told me to unplug the fridge for 24hrs before a technician comes out to fix the problem. This surprised me as it seems they already know about the problem on fridge and I wonder why they dont fix it before it was sold. I asked them to send me a replacement fridge for the period as the fridge is still on warranty. I have small kids and a day without a fridge is a nightmare. The representative was rude and told me that cant happen and the fridge wont be fixed until I defrost it. Im still trying to solve this issue and I hope there is someone out here who can stop companies like Samsung from taking clients on a rollercoaster once they make a sale. My advice, dont buy Samsung. Period.

Samsung French Door Refrig Model RF 267ABWP - Our ice maker stopped making
Samsung French Door Refrig Model RF 267ABWP - Our ice maker stopped making ice. Called and got them to come out. The ice maker was fried and so was the motherboard. The cost is $509.68 for the parts and labor. It takes 2 weeks for them to come back and install the parts that have already arrived to us. The refrig is 6 years old, and when it was first delivered, it took 4 refrigerators that worked for us to keep the refrig 6 years ago, and now this not nice.

Again like many of you who have Samsung french door bottom freezers, mine is now 2 year old and my freezer door will not shut properly because of the accumulation of ice in the bottom floor of freezer. So now in the fall and winter every several months I have to take out the top tray of the freezer and crack the ice behind it, wait till it falls on the floor and then clean it up, then the drawer will close. I have done everything they have told me to try and resolve this problem. Now I guess the next step is to call a repair facility to correct a design flaw of Samsung. I wonder if there is a class action lawsuit out there against Samsung. I would like to get in on it! I have already told many people not to purchase Samsung.

About a year and a half ago I purchased a Samsung french door refrigerator
About a year and a half ago I purchased a Samsung french door refrigerator (model RF197ACWP/XAA) and the trouble began within the first year. After 6 months of use, the refrigerator started experiencing ice buildup on the evaporator coil, water leaking into the vegetable bins and under them. Ive had multiple Samsung service appointments performed by NISI NJ Inc (an Authorized Service Center of Samsung Electronics). I work full time and I was forced to use my vacation days for the multiple service appointments as the service appointments were only available Mon through Fri 9 till 5pm. Not to mention hundreds of dollars of food thrown out constantly. This multi-hundred dollar unit accordingly is unusable after less than a couple of years. I do not expect a refrigerator to last forever. I do however expect it to last at least more than two years. I recently learned that the company has sold refrigerators since 2005 with multiple defects and thousands of people are experiencing similar issues. I assumed Samsung would stand behind its product. However, after extremely lengthy and unpleasant calls with customer service office, Samsung said it refuses to offer any help as the one year warranty has now expired. The issue began when the unit was still under warranty and the original issue has never been fixed. I find this response unacceptable. I had filled out a formal complaint on April 4th, 2015 and asked to speak to management but Samsung has not done anything.

Product manufactured 12/2019. Purchased 6/2020... Freezer door seal is inadequate and food thaws and refreezes. Ice melts then freezes into a lump of ice. Technician says he sees this problem all the time with this Samsung model. Won’t replace the seal, won’t do anything to correct; technician says it’s a default and we are just stuck with an unacceptable refrigerator... Samsung now refuses to offer a fix. Will never purchase a Samsung product and will tell this experience over & over!!

At 13 months, a plastic part in the ice maker broke. We could not buy just the plastic part that senses when the bin is full of ice. We had to purchase the entire icemaker system at the cost of over $200. At five years and seven months, the compressor went out at the cost of $600. We gave our daughter our 30 Whirlpool side by side. It is still alive. BUY AMERICAN. Samsung is totally unsatisfactory.

I have the Samsung RF267AEBP purchased from Sears ($2,100+) 01/02/2011. Shortly after the basic 1-year warranty ran out, the unit began routinely freezing up due to the known failure of the defrost cycle and/or heating coils and sensors malfunctioning. When the ice builds up over time, it locks up the fan motor from the glacier of ice (sounds horrible like a screech owl). Like others on this post and all over the Internet, I have to force the RF267AEBP into a manual defrost; when the ice melts, it fills the space under the Deli/Crisper drawer with water. The first time this happened, we did not realize that the ice could not drain normally due to a defective drain (Note: The defrost water drain has been reported to be too short to drain properly after the refrigerator goes through a defrost cycle). So, after turning the unit back on, the backed up water that pools under the Deli/Crisper drawer freezes into a solid two feet by one inch sheet of ice! Not knowing what was going on, we could not get the Deli/Crisper opened without pulling very hard on it and that brought the entire sheet of ice out and onto the kitchen floor, creating one big dangerous mess! Now, the ice maker is making loud clicking and banging sounds, and the ice maker has malfunctioned too with inconsistent delivery of odd sized ice cubes (more like chunks of ice) and it, too, now freezes up. We have regularly replaced the filter (@ $30+ each) that does basically nothing but filter water for the ice maker and the water dispenser. This has been the most frustrating and expensive major appliance ownership experience I have ever had with a major appliance in over 40+ years of home ownership.Samsung, you should provide us customers that have suffered through the purchase and repair of this known defective refrigerator full refunds for these known manufacturer defective refrigerators and/or provide a totally brand new replacement of equal value regardless of the customer’s choice. This is an expensive major appliance and we should not be having these problems that are clearly a quality control problem of widespread proportions. If I am not contacted by your warranty and customer relations department with a satisfactory resolution, I will be forced to sign on to the class action suit and add my model to the long and growing list of models already posted on the website. I will also have my day in small claims court for not just the cost of the defective refrigerator, but also for the spoiled food cost of replacement, labor and repair cost, and my lost work/wages due to having to take off work to deal with the overall malfunctioning of your Samsung RF267AEBP.By the way, my paperwork from Samsung that came with my refrigerator clearly states, Your Satisfaction is Samsungs # 1 Priority - Do not return to store. Well, Samsung, here is your opportunity to step up and simply do the right thing, especially since you are on record claiming that my satisfaction is Samsungs #1 priority.
