Samsung RF263 French Door with bottom freezer - We bought this less than 3 years ago. The first BRAND NEW fridge we have ever purchased. We got it because it was supposed to be excellent and we were told that Samsung is reliable. Im a teacher who spends extremely long hours at work and my husband travels for his job. We NEED reliable. The first few months, I noticed mold in the door seals. Weird, I thought. It seems like the seals on the doors are not very good, then -- and then the freezer would build up all kinds of horrible frost on the outside AND inside of things. It would do this off and on for no rhyme or reason.... Then, a few weeks ago, everything in the back of the fridge started to freeze. Not a lot, just a little. I checked temps, etc, moved stuff around. My summer vacation just began (this is when teachers actually begin to have semi-normal lives, go on Dr. appts, fix appliances, etc), and we went out of town for the weekend. When we returned early today in order to go to a funeral, I heard the fridge making an odd sound. Opened it up, and the entire back is iced over, just dripping in mini-ice bergs. We empty the whole thing, try to remove the back -- no dice. It wont budge. We use a hairdryer to remove the ice and let it sit while we attend the funeral (freezer is working alright, or at least as okay as it ever was, which isnt so great). We come home and it is not working. At all. I looked online and saw literally DOZENS of complaints, all the same.We are thinking we will just go out and purchase a new fridge -- costs of repair will probably be as much as a new one eventually. Based on reviews, it looks like it would do no good to keep repairing it over and over. This LEMON that we paid a HUGE price for is wasting our time. Im thinking of going back to Craigs list and purchasing a second hand fridge -- they run for years!!!!! Im SO angry!

This is going to be good. So go to the bathroom, grab a drink, sit down and get comfortable. In January last year, I purchased a Samsung refrigerator, a TV along with a washer and dryer. The total of the purchase was close to $6,000. The refrigerator decided it was not going to dispense water at Thanksgiving. We called and scheduled an appointment for service. We were told it was the panel at the front of the fridge. I took a morning off work and waited for three and half hours only for the tech to turn up and look at the fridge and say it is not the panel. It is the circuit board at the back. They would return a couple of weeks later to replace the circuit board. When the tech was at my house, I asked him to look at my Samsung 55 LED TV. I had a red dot in the middle of the screen. I had called Samsung before and they said that was acceptable. I argued the point, that the TV did not look like it in the store! The tech took one look at the TV and said that is not right and to call and get them to fix it. I called again to Samsung and complained again. I was put through to the executive customer relations. They then said they would fix it! Right! We scheduled a service appointment for the refrigerator and the TV. The service company was a mess and could not get anything handled. After multiple calls to them, a tech arrived at the house the Saturday before Christmas. Three hours later, still working on the fridge, the tech reached the conclusion it was not the front panel, not the circuit board in the back, but a bad ground on the fridge. Then he was about to leave and my wife reminded him about the TV. The TV was removed from the wall and he put a new panel in it and left it on the floor. I said I would hang it up when I get home. Little did I know the TV was not tested. I put the TV on the wall, plugged it in and there was a big blue screen. Nothing! I called Samsung technical support, spoke to a very nice man and said he felt my pain and was amazed at what I have already been through as a customer.I called the service company and the owner then called me back and he said there was nothing he could do. I then explained that I know how the job should have been done and reminded him that techs should test their work before leaving! The conversation was just a bit embarrassing for him. I called Samsung again just after Christmas. (The fridge was working fine at this point.) I spoke to executive customer relations and we were promised a new TV. Great problem solved. Number of days went by again with no call to confirm; I finally called and was put through to executive customer relations. They told me that the approval had been denied. I asked why and why did it take me so long to find out why. I asked them to figure out why one person can say yes and the other say no and no reason why! I pushed and told them to call me back in an hour with an answer. They did and then I asked to speak to a supervisor and they could not and I asked if they could email me to confirm what they were going to do. They wanted to repair the TV. I said no due to the fact we have by this point spent hours on the phone with the TV and the fridge and the service company. They transferred me to another department, appliances. That did not make me happy. My wife filed a complaint with the Better Business. We have their attention now, I thought. They looked at the file and yes, they admitted to me their customer service has a few problems. I laughed and told them to be in my position. If I did this at my job, I would be fired. I also got a call from the guy in charge of repairs at Samsung. We had to let them fix the TV. We are done. We have taken enough time waiting, calling and taking time off work. No one could say here is a new TV. My wife and I decided to buy another TV (Sony) to use for temporary measure while we decided to have the TV repaired. By this time, it was the first part of January. The tech turned up, fixed the TV and it worked. I told him the full story and all he could do was shake his head. Even the company he works for was part of the problem. I then got a call from someone at Samsung asking if the TV was fixed and I spoke to a man late in the evening and explained that no customer should be put through the circus of what we have. He agreed on every point I made and was truly embarrassed that this had been such a nightmare.I know I have missed parts out on this like the multiple dropped calls and the fact that we never got a work order receipt for the work carried out by the service company! They did send us a $50 gift card at Best Buy for our troubles. We added up that it has cost us, a couple of days off work not to mention the hours on the phone to no avail. It is not the end. Now, it is the end of January and guess what! Yes, the fridge will not dispense the ice. I called again and asked for executive customer relations. I called on Thursday last week. I explained the previous repair and what a problem it was and they were going to call me within 48 hours. They were meant to call me and yes, that did not happen. I called again on Monday and stated I want a new fridge and to call me back with an answer. Forgot to mention 48 hours! Today, they called my wife and wanted to schedule a service on the fridge. So yet again, more time off work and more time wasted on the phone. Our next step is not going to be good. The senior staff at Samsung need to put down the crayons, stop crying and let go of the sippy cup, wipe their face off and get down to following up with customers. If they had to deal with this mess like I have, they would think a lot differently. Follow up is key.My company is one of the largest car manufactures in the world and it puts the customer first. We aim to make all our customers happy and brand loyalty is a must. Samsung, wake up and deal with customers in the right way. Executive customer relations is a joke. Just call it Piss Poor customer service. From basic telephone skills, dealing with one person, not running the customer around from person to person. Follow up, tech training, the list can go on. I will never buy another Samsung product in my life. Not even if you paid me.

In less than a year, our refrigerator began having problems. The cooling fan begins making a noise as the ice builds up around it until the ice stops the fan from spinning. At this point the fridge stops cooling. The fix involves taking everything out of the fridge, opening up the back, and using a hair dryer to melt the ice. This takes approx 45 min to complete. The ice will continue to build up and the process must be repeated every 2-3 months. In addition, the ice maker is poorly built. The water comes out at a weird angle and most people who use it for the first few times end up hitting the side of their cup and water goes everywhere. The ice also comes out all over the place and misses the cup, ending up all over the floor. The ice maker itself also began to drip water, requiring paper towels set below it that need to be replaced several times a day. Based on a video online I just watch, this may be caused from the seal at the base of the ice maker. I am currently testing out a fix. To top things off, the ice will freeze together inside the ice maker, creating a huge ice dam. Its fun to find out this has happened when you have guests over only to find out you dont have any ice ready for them.Overall, this product is a huge disappointment and I do not recommend a Samsung refrigerator to anyone in the market. If you are reading this you probably have realized how many complaints there are, and they STILL HAVE NOT FIXED THE ISSUES WITH THE NEWER MODELS!!!

I bought my Samsung refrigerator in Aug 2013. The soda stream compartment failed in the first 6 months and was replaced under warranty. A year later, the fan in the back of the fridge made loud noises. It was covered with ice so the repairman replaced the entire panel. A year after that, it froze again and the repairman pulled it out and thawed it with a hairdryer. This continued every year. Now that I am in year 5, the main display is now inoperable and beeps continuously. The freezer is 48 degrees and the fridge is at 43. It is not cooling at all. Repairman out today said the main panel needs to be replaced. He got it running, but now the compressor sounds like a helicopter. I would never expect this amount of aggravation from a quality brand. DO NOT BUY A SAMSUNG REFRIGERATOR!!! We have decided to buy another brand after 5 years. You would think it would have lasted at least 15.Updated on 08/16/2018: I called Samsung on Aug 3 and was told since my fridge was just under 5 years old, the warranty on the electronics (power board) and compressor would be covered. I submitted all the requested information on their website on Aug 6. After almost 2 weeks (freezer at 62 degrees), a Samsung repair tech came out. He said its not covered under warranty. This is ridiculous to spend $3k on a refrigerator only to have it completely die in under 5 years. I will NEVER buy another Samsung. Im so disappointed.

2 year old refrigerator started making noise last October. We unplugged it for a couple days and read that the fan motor freezes up. So we thawed the fridge & sound went away and temp seemed fine. Then the last couple months food began expiring before expiration dates. Milk was curdled, dog treats moldy - were the obvious signs. Reading this website I knew that it was frozen motor. So I followed you tube instructions of how to remove back panel and got my hair dryer out and melted the 3 x 4 of ice block that totally encased my fan motor, coils and wiring. My question is, how is Samsung going to remedy this from happening again? How can this be acceptable? We should all be getting free service replacement parts from Samsung! I will never buy a Samsung anything and advise everyone to do the same! !

Like many, didnt read reviews... bought $2000+ fridge in 2014. The ice maker stops working within first year! Repair person said it was the drawer. Fixed for a month or so and then back to ice buildup on the tray which jams the ice maker! We are constantly chipping ice out of the ice maker and de-thawing it with a hair dryer! One thing I am going to check is the 2% back level that the fridge is supposed to be leveled to. A previous post brought this up. From the sounds of the reviews, I am in for many more problems! THIS IS A JUNK PRODUCT, DO NOT BUY SAMSUNG FRIDGES!!!

It looks very nice and all features are wonderful. But every month the tube that goes to the ice maker would freeze and everything around and the inside top of the refrigerator had ice. They kept telling me I don’t push in the ice bucket all the way but I had never taken it out. Finally I had to take it out because every week it would do it I had to take a blow dryer and fix it myself. Thank goodness I don’t have that fridge anymore and got an LG.

I purchased a Samsung RF263BEAESR refrigerator 3 years ago because I thought Id get quality and good service. While the ice maker froze and the service person fixed it by using a steam gun it happened again. Easy fix though, since I have a hair dryer. Last week the handle came off the freezer drawer. I had purchased a store warranty that is still in effect; however when I called for service the representative said handles are not included in the warranty. I called the Authorized Service Company who sent a repairman out charging us $75+tax. He said that this model has no way to replace the handle and the only solution is to replace the whole freezer drawer at a cost of $465 and another service charge which means a total cost of $625. The repairman said older models had an access at the top of the drawer which would allow such a repair, but the new models do not have this handy option. To me this is a design flaw that requires the customer excess cost.

After 13 months (just after warranty expired) the icemaker began icing over
After 13 months (just after warranty expired) the icemaker began icing over. I called Samsung who would only send out a paid repair person. I learned how to de-ice it myself and have to do this every three months or so. I just discovered a fix on YouTube which resulted in $200 worth of parts. Now, three years later, there is a solid sheet of ice under the crisper drawer and a very loud fan noise coming from the fridge (RF263BEAESR/AA). Again using YouTube I discovered that ice builds up because of another poor design and I had to remove all the food, all the shelves, including the difficult to remove one above the crisper drawer, and then pry off a back panel and use a hair dryer to defrost it. Ice had built up and the fan was hitting the ice. This is due to a small metal piece that is attached to the heating element, the metal piece isnt long enough and allows the drain to freeze closed. This causes the ice build up. This is an expensive appliance and I am already looking at having to replace it because it is not reliable and requires so much maintenance. My old fridge was a cheap GE that lasted 16 years without a single repair. Samsung knows about the design flaws, has even issued a technical bulletin about it. They refuse to issue a recall and correct their mistake, leaving so many homeowners frustrated. I will not buy another Samsung product as long as I live! There are several class-action lawsuits pending against Samsung in regards to this appliance. Buyer beware, run from Samsung appliances.

Our Samsung RF220N refrigerator was delivered by Best Buy in May 2014. It failed in August 2018. It is now February 2019, and we are into month 6 of the warranty process, without satisfaction. Samsung Authorized repair people determined that the sealed refrigeration system had failed. This was 4 years and 4 months into the 5-year warranty for the closed system. The authorized repair people tried 4 times to repair the system with OEM parts. Each time it has failed within 36 hours. One set of OEM parts from Samsung arrived already broken inside the shipping box. The authorized service company has declared the refrigerator not-repairable using Samsungs own process, yet Samsung will not authorize a replacement or reimbursement, as provided by their own warranty.Samsung Customer Service prevaricates, obfuscates, misdirects, and does not return promised calls/texts/emails. They regularly deny my fridge is under warranty, despite my repeated submission of documentation. I have never spoken to the same person twice, and I suspect they use pseudonyms so contact info can be lost. They deny receiving my emails, and texts, and routinely claim that the last Customer Service person I talked to did not make any notes in the file. They have changed my claim ticket number 8 times. By the bye, the current number is in the 5 billion, 120 millions. That is over 16 claim numbers for every person in the US. At 8 numbers Ive fallen behind the national average. I suspect Samsung is delaying my claim until the warranty period has expired, and then they will deny all responsibility whatsoever. Our extended family has had several other Samsung devices fail: clothes washer, clothes dryer & DVD player. Need I mention the flammable self-combusting cell phones? Fortunately we never had the ice maker in this fridge connected to our plumbing, or we would likely have been in the claims process after only 1 year. Maybe we were unfortunate in that we might have ditched this faulty device long ago. I sincerely believe that a $1500 refrigerator should last longer than my electric toothbrush. We will never buy another Samsung product (yes, we are slow learners). Nevertheless, Never Again.

13 months after purchasing our Samsung Refrigerator the icemaker went out. It leaks constantly inside the fridge and in the cup area. I constantly have to have a paper towel there to soak up the water. It freezes up about once a week and my husband has to use the hair dryer to get it going again. Sometimes we get real cubes, but most of the time we get slushy cubes. We were dazzled by the French door version with the outside access drawer in the middle and paid $2,400. Two years later I vow to never buy another Samsung appliance. Samsung is no help. I hope the class action lawsuit can do something, but the legal process is so long, Ill probably be dead by then!

I have just spent the last half hour reading comments on good old Samsung Refrigerator. I have had a problem for the past year and now comes a time. Where do I start? Whats the cost? The digital front settings are being controlled by a ghost; bounces from ice to water, doesnt stop. Cost? Water on the floor. Ice built up on the back of the fridge really thick and water steady on the bottom of the drawers. Cost? Any advice besides throw it to the curb like people have said? Nice fridge; but really, how much money does an average person need to fix repairs? I was going to try and tackle project by myself but will it work or continue the hair dryer every couple of months thawing it out and putting up with dings on the front panel deciding what it wants to do? Any suggestions? Obviously not after reading the reviews. Would never recommend Samsung to anyone. Bad, bad choice I am just fed up with this problem. Thanks Samsung for the Lemon.

We have the Family Hub French door with the screen in front. Paid approx $2300. This thing is a piece of garbage. First, they changed the app with no notification so we lost all the things we had programmed including pictures. The ice maker is HORRIBLE!!! So horrible that I have invested in a portable countertop ice maker. Im not sure whats going on with it, but whenever we call for service, were told we have to defrost it before theyll come. How does that show them the issue? The ice and water spills outside the ice bucket and then freezes together. Every few days, it stops making ice. Thats because its clogged with ice and cant work any longer. I have to take a hair dryer to it to defrost all the stuck frozen water and ice cubes. Today I did it, and I noticed there is a ton of mold under the lip of the mouth where the water and ice comes out to the dispenser. Gross. There is no way to get to the mold. Also, ice gets stuck in the dispenser and melts, so it leaks onto the dispenser on the door. I wish I would have taken a picture of the clumped frozen water before I posted this. Piece of garbage. Do not buy!

My Samsung refrigerator is still under factory warranty (5-years). The freezer compressor, heat exchanger & filter dryer went out. Contacted Samsung at least 10 times over the past two weeks. Their contractor that does their warranty repair does not have any certified technicians in my area and advised me to go back to Samsung for them to locate a certified technician. Samsung states they dont have any certified technicians and they will refund me up to $1954.00 (key word up to). However it will take 10-14 days for their finance dept. to verify the amount and issue a check. That means 30 days without a freezer compartment. I need ice to pack on my wifes leg for her knee replacement surgery. Temps. here in So. Calif. have been running between 100f and 114f. Constant running to store to obtain ice. The sad part is every time I speak with their rep. on the phone the issue will be taken care of in 3 days. Never will I buy a Samsung product again. Their service is terrible.

This is a huge french style fridge with freezer in the bottom and water/ice in the door. This has double doors with lots of space in each door and tons of shelf space inside. We love this fridge. It has worked great for years, but does have 2 flaws that can be dealt with. The fridge temp rises and it has iced over in the center back vent. The cover must be removed and ice melted then move the thermo coupler down and uncovered to stop refreezing. In addition, the ice maker freezes up. Just remove the tray and blow with hair dryer. Even with flaws we love this fridge.

Purchased a Samsung RF263BEAESR/AA french door fridge. 09/21/12 started having issues with the refrigerator. Coils freezing causing the twin cooling fans to hit the ice and make loud noises. It woke me up and was so loud I thought someone was breaking into my house. Of course it was just after the warranty expired and I paid them approx $150 to come out replace a Defrost Sensor, Evaporator Cover, and Drain Kit. The service guy called Samsung and strongly said they should pay for the parts (I felt he knew there are ongoing issues with their fridges and felt bad for me) and they did (parts are cheap). The other issue was the ice maker. The unit is not sealed properly causing warm air from the fridge to enter the ice maker and it freezes up eventually ice cant dump in tray because of the ice build up.They are now making the ice maker sealed up tight because my neighbor has a newer model which 1 year old and I took a peek, no ice build up. They used silicone seal yet one year later same problem so it must be coming in from rear and cant be fixed. I have been removing the ice box and taking a blow dryer once every 2 weeks to melt it. So, I called Samsung 04/07/17 and was trying to get parts to fix the twin cooling fan ice issues after watching YouTube videos and they couldnt give me part #s. Referred me to www.samsungparts.com which is not their company but is approved to sell parts. I told Samsung, I had just got off the phone with them and they gave me your # which is technical support (1.855.726.8721) now youre sending me back to them?I then told her my cooling fan issue, and ice maker issue, how upset and disappointed I was in their product, and that I have a fridge/freezer in my garage that is 16 yrs old and never had a service issue. She told me, We can send a service technician to look at the issue and possibly replace it. I said, You mean charge me? She stated, NO replace it??? I asked her if this was a late April Fools joke. She said, NO... I stated, Does this have something to do with a class action lawsuit I have read about. She didnt answer, but did at the same time... So, I am waiting for the service company to call and schedule an appt. If they decide that the issues I told them are verified I may be getting a new fridge, which is a shocker. The other thing I found out when talking to her she asked in regards to ice build up behind the twin cooling fans, Were the white wheels to the front and bottom of your fridge touching the ground? I stated, Yes. She stated they should not be touching and the fridge needs to be raised tilting back and that when delivered they (Best Buy) should of leveled the refrigerator for me... So Best Buy didnt do it, and neither did the service tech I paid a $150 either. She sent me an e-mail showing a do it yourself How to Level the Refrigerator. So if you are having this issue check it out. May save you a service charge. To melt the ice you need to empty your fridge/freezer for at least 24 hours and tilt it back. May solve the problem. I am leaving mine alone for now hoping for a new fridge... Good Luck.

It’s now December 2019 and no longer reset. I called Samsung and they directed me to a repair company who doesn’t return calls. I’m so unhappy with Samsung as I have looked them up on Youtube and blogs where there are so many complaints about the ice maker not just my model but numerous models. When I purchased my Samsung refrigerator, at the time was the number 1 rated refrigerator of its type. From early on, I had started having troubles with the lower ice maker plastic parts breaking off. The service tech said that this was a common problem. Later we started having issues with the upper unit not cooling. Again I had a service tech come out only to tell me that the Twin Cool Plus system is another common problem. I was told to empty my refrigerator and turn it off for 24-48 hours to allow the unit to defrost. Or I could use a blow dryer and try to speed up the process. Is this what it has come to?? I called on several occasions to discuss what they would do to solve the Twin Cool Plus problem, and all they wanted to do is to send another service tech at my expense to look at the refrigerator. Nothing ever gets resolved, nor do they seem to care.

We bought the RF263AEWP model on August 30, 2011 from Lowes. About a year later, the fan was making a noise. It was blocked by ice build up. We got rid of the food, and defrosted it, with the help of hairdryer, etc. It was fine for a while, then it happened again. We called an authorized Samsung Repair person. He said it would cost over $700 to fix it. We found reviews where other people had this problem and they spent $$ on repairs, only to have the problem come back. So, we didnt pay for the repair person. We defrosted again... Its now freezing up again. Food in the freezer is soft. We are shopping for another refrigerator. If there is a class action lawsuit, we want to be a part of it.

Repairman told me the ice maker issue is due to insulation in the wall of the refrigerator sometimes “slumps” or slips down. Design flaw. I learned this when I was buying a heating element to replace in my 3 year old Samsung dryer. It sits right next to my 2 year old Samsung washer with a broken lid. Contacted Samsung corporate USA. They are irresponsible scum. They ignore follow up contact and send replies that appear to be ‘in the blind’ begging I respond and eventually state that because they are not getting any response that they will consider the matter closed. I purchased a Samsung 24.73 ft 4 door French door refrigerator Model #RF25HMEDBSR in August of 2017. Not sure how long I had it when the ice maker started freezing up and had to be defrosted with a BAIRD dryer. Called for repair the first time in February of 2018. They replaced the entire ice maker, however it started freezing up again. Repair sent out again on May 14, 2018. The technician tells me the entire refrigerator need to be replaced and someone will call me within 24-48 hours. No call, I call Samsung and I am told, WE DONT CALL you, I am told to submit receipts and someone will contact me. I submit my receipts and receive a phone call on the 22 of May to send a better picture of the receipt.May 23rd I received an email stating the exchange has been approved and someone from the Lowes where I purchased it should give me a call within 5 business days. 5 days later no call. May 31st. I call Samsung, they tell me the exchange is finished on their end and I need to contact the local Lowes. Call Lowes, they have not received the RMA (return merchandise authorization). I provide the number and they contact Samsung to request it be sent again. June 1st - Lowes calls, RMA received. They are required to come and pick up the refrigerator, refund it then they can order the new one... I call Samsung, and explain how I am not ok with this, The bottom line is, they don’t care. The angel in this scenario is Jessica (and Dianne) assistant manager at Lowes in Santa Clarita California. She is willing to order the replacement without having the old unit back. Because its a special order will take 10 days to get to the store. That puts me at the 14th of June, almost exactly 1 month from the date of my 2nd repair and the day I get on a plane to go to Europe for 2 weeks. Here’s the Bottom line, Samsung did nothing to make this an easy process and they don’t care. I just stumbled on this site and can see this is a known issue and they have done nothing to fix the problem. During manufacturing or after the units were purchased.

This wash machine has a wide variety of settings for washing. The bedding and waterproof items setting is very helpful. Without the center cylinder things like this can tangle, but not so in this setting. The spin cycle does a great job. Much less dryer time is needed. The water jet inside the washer is super handy to touch up items with a stain before the load. I wondered if I would use the deep fill water option since my old machine used a lot more water. But I have not felt the need to use it yet, this washer gets clothes nice and clean without all the extra water. I love that it reminds me when it is time to clean the machine. The self clean cycle is great. You will enjoy the little chime that goes off when the load is done. Highly recommend this washer!

My sister and I both bought this refrigerator for our new construction home in December 2015. Luckily hers hasnt done this. But 16 months later mine started making this loud noise coming from the upper back part of fridge. Its so loud. I Googled and found numerous people are having same problem. Ive tried the blow dryer. Didnt work. Tried defrosting only to return 1 week later. I sure dont want to start taking apart, nor should I have to. This fridge is heavy. Our washers were both recalled, in which only partial cost reimbursed. Now I am frustrated because feel no one should have issues with any product, especially after only 16 months. What am I suppose to do now. I thought Samsung would be a super brand. Now I hate it. What is being done about this company selling crap products. Ill go American from now on.

We were warned by 2 people not to buy Samsung refrigerators because the ice makers were awful. We didnt listen because we needed a certain size and Samsung made them if you ordered it... Loved the refrigerator for the first few months. Then the ice maker started freezing up and we would have to use a hairdryer to defrost it. Then we noticed when you put ice in a cup it would drop water in it. So much you would have to dump it before putting anything in it. Within 2 years the ice maker was dripping water in one of the doors and would freeze in the bottom of the ice tray causing it to freeze up. We finally just pulled the tray out and turned the water off to it. Now we buy a bag of ice and keep it in the bottom freezer. Do not buy this refrigerator unless you want to deal with these kind of problems.

I have to say I purchased a total kitchen appliance line from Samsung and washer and dryer and have never been so disappointed in a product. Fridge is exactly as everyone has stated from the first year (now 3 yrs old) it leaked below the veggie bins. I bought this because my 15 year old Kenmore was outdated and I figure not as energy efficient as it should be. Mistake number one. At least it didnt leak. To be fair I havent contacted Samsung as I have read many other comments and just feel its a waste of time.

I also have a problem with my freezer/fridge, a repair man had been out twice. All he does is defrost it with a blow dryer, the drain does not work properly so the bottom of the freeze becomes a skating rink and you can open the bottom drawer. When this happens, the fridge also quits working so I have to take all my food out and put it in a ice chest, put all my frozen food in another freezer and defrost it for 1 to 2 days. I do not feel I should have to deal with this. About every two weeks it freezes up, so I do not even use the freezer part anymore, my unit is two years old, very very very unsatisfied. Samsung or Conns appliance need to give me a new one of equal value but definitely not a Samsung brand.

Samsung Refrigerator Model # RF263AEBP, Serial # JJ054GBZ400358B, and date
Samsung Refrigerator Model # RF263AEBP, Serial # JJ054GBZ400358B, and date of purchase: 04-30-2010. On 3-21-12 on line chat with Samsung: I am having a problem with the middle vent holes inside of the back of the refrigerator frozen with ice. Also, the bottom of the inside of the refrigerator is full of water. I had the same problem back in September and I defrosted the vent holes with a hair dryer (like the Samsung customer service rep told us to), and we wiped up all the water but now the same thing happened again! Eventually it fills up and leaks on the floor! I had a local repair tech that just became an authorized Samsung dealer but he didnt know what the problem was and he couldnt get through to Samsung. My wife and I are very upset that this is happening since it is only 1-1/2 years old and we spent $1,143.84 to purchase it! It already did cost me $85.00 for the repair guy to come out and he couldnt do anything. Even though the warranty has run out, we dont feel that we should have to pay to have this repaired. Now, it is making loud/soft humming noise and I cant get the temperature inside the refrigerator lower than 53 degrees! Also, I just cleaned out all the water sitting inside the bottom again under the cool select pantry we have to do it once a month! It was going to take a Samsung tech several days before they could come out so I called another local repairman and he came out the next day. He spent a lot of time at my home and did figure out what was wrong. The back panel inside was completely frozen up. He had to order (2) parts and come back and replaced a defective inside heating element and also a new fan motor assembly because it burnt out from trying to run while frozen. His total charges came to $314.82. The repair was made on 04-12-12.Last week, the middle vent holes started freezing up again. I defrosted it with a hair dryer (which is what a Samsung customer service rep told me to do way back when I first started having the problem), but it started freezing up again this week. I am going to call the repairman I had out and discuss it with him. I’m thinking that the refrigerator is either not going into a defrost cycle enough times or the inside heating element isn’t sufficient to do the job or Samsung is selling defective parts. I will let you know what happens and how much more it is going to cost me. This has been a frustrating, ongoing ordeal for both my wife and I. After spending so much money, we expected to not have something like this happen for many years!

Dont be fooled ... as we were by salespeople who tell you that Samsung appliances are top of the line. We bought a front loader washer/dryer and French door refrigerator less than six years ago. All three appliances have been repaired at least once. The refrigerator, however, should be singled out as a LEMON -- we continue to have the same problem. We even went so far as to buy the extended warranty which (shockingly) expired last May. Samsung? Never again.

My ICEMAKER on the French door models of Samsung has been terrible. So bad that its starting to rust the outer door where water has been dripping down from the ice dispenser on to the outer door. Called and they said it would cost me well over $300.00 to fix it. They didnt say anything about the rust on the door. Even though the warranty is up, this is crazy. We just had a service guy come out on yesterday about another issue with the TwinCooling Plus panel on the inside back wall. That was $309.00. Three hundred here and three hundred there adds up to a lot. Also the warranty on this is only for a year. Have a lot of Samsung TVs and washer and dryer. But this will make me think twice on Samsung.

We purchased a Samsung refrigerator model RF28HFEDTSR/AA - what a mistake!
We purchased a Samsung refrigerator model RF28HFEDTSR/AA - what a mistake! Like other consumers, we have had terrible problems with it - problems that are typical and that Samsung does not stand behind. This particular model has an ice maker in the freezer (bottom drawer) and an ice maker in the top (refrigerator door location) where the ice and water are dispensed. The top ice maker freezes up and has to be thawed out constantly and water drips out of the dispenser, itself. This is a common problem and a class action lawsuit has been filed - as Samsung has refused to take responsibility and address the well-known issues! In addition, the plastic shelves crack - for no reason - obviously a defect in the type of plastic that is used in manufacturing the shelves. This is another problem that has been frequently noted by consumers - yet, Samsung refuses to take responsibility. I have many Samsung products in my house - cell phones, televisions, sound bars, etc. I am very disappointed in this refrigerator, and especially in the lack of customer service by Samsung. I will think long and hard before I purchase any other Samsung products. When we first began having the freezing problem, I read on the internet how many others were having the same issue. I contacted Samsung and got nowhere at all. After being tired of constantly having to take a hair dryer and chip away the ice - I called a service to fix it - and they said there really was no fix. I had someone look at it today - and all they could do was what I had been doing - and charged me $80. They did find out that Samsung had managed to develop a fix for the problem and it would cost me between 400 and 600 dollars to do it. The service man and I both agreed that I might as well purchase a new refrigerator. This one is only 3 years old! It began having issues - of course - after the warranty period had ended. Please tell everyone not to buy Samsung appliances!

I defrosted it several times by removing the freezer interior panel and using a blow dryer to melt the ice. I did some research and all I found were hopeless complaints online. Like so many reviewers, we had the same problem with the twin cooling system. We bought the refrigerator from Lowes in October of 2009 on sale. Up until this problem, we were very happy with the refrigerator. Several months ago, the fridge started to make a lot of noise. What the...? Then, I noticed that our milk went bad, before the expiration date. So, my husband used an instant thermometer (therma pen) and our milk was at 58 degrees. Samsung tech support tried to troubleshoot, and blamed our thermometer as the problem! Really? My husband did a lot of internet research, and discovered a video on YouTube on how to fix the problem. Apparently, theres a problem with the coil in the twin cooling area that heats up any ice build-up (Im not mechanic/engineer, so Im explaining as simplified as I can). We emptied the refrigerator and he opened up the twin cooler. There was so much ice build up inside and the motor was frozen solid! No wonder it quit cooling! This is not covered under warranty (ours had expired anyway, though we bought an extended warranty). Using a blow dryer, he patiently thawed out the area and the tube and inserted a copper wire (that the YouTube video said would fix the problem). When he put all the parts back in, the motor started up again! Lets just hope this fix is what the YouTuber swears works. I sure hope so, or were going to have bought another refrigerator. Im happy with our Samsung laptops and TVs, but never again would I buy a Samsung refrigerator! Ill try and update if this is a permanent fix, but its worth a try.

I would rate this refrigerator higher but ice forms behind the cover in back of the inside of the fridge which then stops the fan and then ice builds up and its all downhill from there. I have lost a lot of food. Samsung, as far as I know, has not addressed this problem. The problem seems simple to fix as the heating element in the back where the water freezes is not adequate. I usually never write online reviews but I feel compelled to warn anyone I can about Samsung and the junk appliances it produces. Ive had numerous experiences with Samsung Refrigerators, Dishwashers, etc. For one thing....their refrigerators have a known design defect which causes the evaporator coils to build up ice on them. Usually after approximately one year (after the warranty runs out) you will start hearing loud clicking/grinding noises from your freezer. This is the fan hitting the ice building up around the coils. You will then be forced to defrost the piece of junk with a hair dryer or just shut it off for 24 hours to defrost it. Samsung has known about this for years, yet it continues to produce junk appliances and will not stand behind them.

Samsung RF28HMEDBSR French Door Refrigerator - Bought ours Nov. 2014 and bought the exact same one for my mother-in-law about a month later. Our ice-maker started acting up and freezing almost a year to the day after purchasing. Then lo and behold, my mother-in-laws did the exact same thing about a month after ours started (about one year to the day for her too). I did the hairdryer defrosting trick about 5 times in a two month span and had had enough... Too much work for ice, seriously! So then I got the bright idea to shut the ice-making ability off and buy bagged ice from the store and put it in the dispenser bucket. Works fantastic, except when you pay $2300 for a fridge with an ice-maker, one shouldnt have to purchase ice!My mother-in-law has appliance guard from Black Hills and they came out and fixed it a couple months ago, and it froze over again (just received an email from her this morning). I feel terrible because we purchased this for her as a gift and bragged how much we loved it; that was before the problems. If anyone has a fix, please post the link here. Theres been lots of theories, but I dont want to call out a repairman to temporarily fix what I can do with a blow dryer... ugghhh. Why no class-action lawsuit yet? The complaints are endless on their ice-makers, etc.

Purchased this appliance for several thousands of dollars in May 2016 and worked fine until July 2017 when ice maker quit functioning properly. The problem is that when ice bucket was full the sensor quit telling the ice maker to stop filling the trays. It just kept filling and dumping ice until unit was so full that it froze up everything. Then like everyone else I had to use hairdryer to unthaw the ice maker compartment. This worked a couple of times but now ice maker has totally quit working. What a POS!Of course out of factory warranty and did not buy extended warranty as every GE, Kenmore, Frigidaire refrigerator I have ever purchased over the last 40 years havent had any problems. Took freezer 3 days to start freezing properly, worked a few days and started having the same problem. Called tech service back, came out on April 22 did a recover/recharge. Worked a couple of weeks, same problem again. On May 16 came out again repeated the recover/recharge procedure. Within the next two weeks had to call again with same problem. Tech came out on May 31 replaced Thermo BIM part, worked for about a month. Now same problem with freezer and temps in the refrigerator part of unit is also failing. All Samsung wants to do is send me a certified Samsung tech and charge me a bill... The last Sears Tech has worked on refrigerators for 30 years. Okay, bought this fridge/freezer six years ago. Worst thing ever bought. When it was two years and two months old, the fan sounded like it was taking off, and you could see that there was ice forming around that area of the fridge. Thankfully, I have a husband that is skilled enough to take the thing to pieces. Then involved defrosting the iced-up fan with a hairdryer (took ages) until the ice melted. Then trying to dry the now wet polystyrene lining and putting it back together. He wasnt happy. I think that lasted one year, and the process has to be repeated every time we hear the fan trying to belt its way out the back of the fridge. We are now down to every three months, and well and truly over it.What a dog of a unit. I still love the layout and the ease of the fridge, but what use is something that needs major attention every three months. Fingers crossed nothing has happened to the freezer side of the unit as yet. At present, as I sit here typing, all my food is in chilly bins, a heater is busy at the fridge door, warming the ice so that it will melt. The worst thing is knowing that that this will happen again, and again, until we dump the thing and say goodbye to a $2,200.00 purchase that should have had years of life in it. My husband reckons the people in charge of the design should be dealt to very roughly.

Updated on 08/02/2018: It has continually built up of ice, under the ice maker every 5/6 weeks. Have notice partially melted ice in the storage bucket, in which it jams the ice dispenser. Either I use a hair dryer to defrost or chip the sheet of ice off the ice maker. To free the ice out of the ice maker bucket I run warm water through it. Have updated the motherboard, and replaced the ice maker twice. With one new revision, that has a physical square rectangle water intake housing. None of these parts fixed my problems!Original review: I have a Samsung Refrigerator model RF263BEAESRAA purchased on 6/13. Ice seems to build up on bottom of ice maker & also around ice dispenser rod to the point in which itll freeze solid & will no longer dispense ice. Every week Im having to dump out semi-melted ice out of the ice jammed dispenser & ice thats build up thats located under the ice maker. Having replaced ice maker, motherboard, auger motor & fan assembly. Its still doing the same thing as far as ice building up.

The door has started to rust below the ice dispenser due to moisture from the small catch tray. This is not my first Samsung appliance either. The Ice Maker stopped making ice again on 1/30/17, so MD Appliance came out on 2/2/17, to repair it by using caulking around the ice maker and proceeded to defrost the ice build-up with a blow dryer then left. Then the Ice Maker stopped making ice again on 4/1/17, so Residential Tech Services Inc. came out on 4/3/17 to verify this fact as per Asurions Lemon Law policy. Which states clearly the fact: After Three (3) service repairs have been completed on and individual product for the same breakdown or component and that product requires a fourth (4) repair for the same breakdown or component, as determined by us, we will replace it at our discretion. Residential Tech did not conduct any repair. Then I called the manager on 4/3/17 of Asurion because I read about all the complaints on these defective Samsung Refrigerators only to be told that this ice maker had to break down 4 times with the same exact problem before they would consider replacement as per their Lemon Law Policy. I argued that I have had 4 repairs done. This Manager claims that the Decembers repair had a defective part thus this repair was combined with Januarys repair not counting towards the so-called 4th time as per their Lemon Law Policy! Then I proceeded to make yet another appointment on 4/14/17, and Tekniton came out to replace the Ice Maker and Auger Motor. He found that on the back of this refrigerator was full of water and leaking inside to the bottom inside the deli drawer and icing up. I then had to schedule yet another repair which took place 4/24/17. Tekniton came out again to replace the Stelian replaced ice maker and auger motor, also repaired water leak, defrost sensor and assy cover evap-ref; Aw1-12 angle-shelf. This tech. found the ice maker was starting to freeze up again but it is still making ice.I called the Insurance company Asurion and spoke with the service manager who told me that on the 4th time, and it must be the same issue that they would send out yet another tech to verify that is indeed the same issue as before and they would consider a refund, replace etc. He lied and told me that each part is under warranty for 60-days. Meaning if this issue happens again within that 60-day time frame it doesnt count towards the 4th time. This is not stated in their policy. He claimed that the December repair had a defective part so that was not counted towards the 4th time. Im still stuck with this defective refrigerator and each tech that has come out have all said the same thing. The ice makers are a manufacturing defect and cant be repaired. This refrigerator due to its constant leaking is a potential fire hazard! If I end up having food spoilage or a fire because of this I will sue! Never Ever buy any appliance through Home Depot as they use Asurion as their extended warranty company and they are liars and horrible to deal with. Despite the fact that you should never ever buy anything Samsung Appliances as they are all nicely designed but have known defects and they continue to sell those defective appliances to the public! I have a horrible feeling that Home Depot or Asurion will make me be stuck with this crappy refrigerator after I spent $2,300 on it!

Purchased refrigerator during October 2015 and appliance began giving problems about 8 months later. After much bureaucracy to get a repair through warranty, the problem still remains. The Ice Maker freezes in the back of the refrigerator and stops the Ice Making mechanism from making Ice until the ice built up in the back is chilled away or melted with a blow dryer. This process needs to be performed every three weeks. Water also leaks from the ice dispenser and the crisper tray seems to accumulate water under it and ultimately it leaks to the floor under the fridge.

We purchased a 3 door Samsung refrigerator Jan, 4 2016. The ice maker drips water through the ice dispenser and several times ice has lodged in the maker preventing new ice to drop and consequently build up ice. The repairman says this is a common complaint and we can either replace the ice maker ($500), shut the entire refrigerator down for 48 hours to let everything thaw or use a hair dryer to try to help the thawing process. He says it is an engineering flaw involving the air flow. Of course once you melt the ice it will happen again. I paid $3000 for this appliance and based on the amount of bad reviews I just now read regarding Samsung refrigerators, Samsung should for pay for this consistent problem to be repaired.

My Samsung refrigerator had the same icemaker issues the first year & then the refrigerator would only cool to 54 degrees right at the end of year 1. I called an approved service technician who got on the phone with Samsung after examining the unit. It was determined that the refrigerator could not be repaired & would have to be replaced. Apparently Samsung used butane as an alternative to freon in my unit & it is not being successful. Okay -- that was 6 weeks ago! I have been through many phone calls, submitted the required paperwork, & no one has cared that I have not had a fridge for 6 wks! I have been unable to get help from the store where I bought the fridge either. Samsung is mailed me a reimbursement check for the cost of the fridge, minus delivery & tax. I had to throw away $300 worth of food.So because of Samsungs defective refrigerator, I have had to pay for 3 service visits, $300 worth of lost food, & will have to pay tax & delivery fees plus more for a newer model of refrigerator. SERIOUSLY?! Its not my fault & it has cost me about $1,000.00! By the time I get the reimbursement check & buy a new fridge, I will have gone 8 weeks without a fridge! Im a single mom & currently unemployed, so this is especially painful right now. Unfortunately, I also have a Samsung TV, washer & dryer, all of which I have enjoyed, but now sure hope I dont have a problem with! I have NEVER had a company treat me so poorly.

I purchase my home 4 years ago. So I wanted all new appliances to go with my new home. I went to Sears. Bought a refrigerator, washer and dryer. All Samsung. I also did renovations to my home before I moved in. I didn’t move I until maybe 10 months later. Now my refrigerator leaks. The drawers are flooded with water. Or it’s frozen and can’t open. Also my dryer. That stopped working. Was told I need a new motor. And Samsung told me the manufacturer warranty is only for two years. I can’t even wrap my head around this. Samsung does not stand by their products. I’m so disappointed. Here I thought I was getting a good brand. And got everything brand new. So upset.

The day after Xmas our dryer quit heating! Another repair bill! We were without a dryer for 3 weeks! Today our icemaker quit! It does not make ice nor can we get the icebox off! Now we will have another repair bill for 2-year-old appliances! I am in for getting a class action lawsuit against Samsung!!!

DO NOT BUY A SAMSUNG FRIDGE!!! It is garbage. I only had the fridge two years. It makes noise like a rocket about to launch. It freezes up and have to defrost for days. Then will work for a few months. Samsung wont do nothing about it. They said they will a service tech call to set up appt but no one ever calls. I finally just broke down and purchased a Whirlpool fridge. Samsung should just stick to TVs and phones. Even my Samsung washer and dryer is junk.

Side by Side Refrigerator RS265TDRS is approx. 3 yrs old. Problems with ice maker freezing up and not making ice since I have owned it. Ice maker replaced one time during warranty, but I continue to have the same problem. Now the refrigerator will not cool, found that the back of the fridge was frozen and the evaporator fan motor will not work. Had to defrost refrigerator with hair dryer. Just read all the reviews with the same complaints. Wish I had read the reviews before buying, but I will not make the same mistake of buying from Samsung twice. I am ready for the class action lawsuit.

Weve always loved Samsung products but this refrigerator is a real lemon. The ice maker freezes up every couple of months and we have to use the blow dryer to get rid of the ice buildup. Now the refrigerator wont stay cold. Repairman says it needs a new evaporator. Price to repair ice maker and replace evaporator: $954. Took 8 days to get a Samsung certified tech out to evaluate. Language barrier with phone help desk technician was frustrating. I learned that Samsung, if you have to call them, is not enthusiastic about backing up their products. At least not their refrigerators.

I have a 3 year old Samsung refrigerator that went out Labor Day weekend. We had a total loss of food due to this. I contacted Samsung they set us up with one of their contractors on a priority call. With that said it took them 7 days to come over, the repair person said his leak detector for Freon did not work so he came back the next day. No leak was found so they would next step order a new dryer for the unite. That took 8 more days to come in. When the 2ND repair person came with the dry he first re checked for a leak and out it in the sealed system. So the dryer was not even needed. He sent the information via his phone to Samsung that day and told me I would be contacted with in 48 hours. Well I tried to contact Samsung and let them know the 48 hours was up and after 1 and on half hours on hold I finally was able to speak to a person. That gave me a new case number and ask for receipt information to be sent via eFax once again the 48 hour rule goes in. No call back so I take the one hour and forty five minutes to call back. Finally have the correct person on phone that tell me what the first person said was not correct and I needed to email the information to her. I told her we have gone 25 days waiting on them and not having any way to have cold food in out home aside from an ice chest and really was beyond frustrated at the lack of help I was getting, her response was it will take 48 hours to the buy back department to contact me. I ask if I could speak to the them or have a extension number to not have to spend that long on hold and constantly get a wrong area to pick up and was firmly told no! I informed the lady that if this was to be a buy back I would like to just know if it is okay to purchase a new refrigerator and would Samsung send me a check at some point to reimburse me. I was told in not a nice way I could buy anything I want but Samsung would set the terms as to how I would be paid that we must keep the dead unit until further information was sent to us. So here we are with nothing still - there is no excuse for this to happen. We have lost all food, cannot have or store food and really need a company that give a ___p.

Unfortunately, I fell in love with its center drawer and purchased a 4-door Samsung Refrigerator Freezer 3 and a half years ago, for $3200.00, without doing proper research. The model is RF24FSEDBSR and was manufactured in Sept of 2014. I still love the center drawer, but it is not enough to make up for the rest of the appliance. This is a prime example of a company that thinks highly of itself but doesnt care that it sells absolute junk. The number of problems and repairs for the ice maker, add up to this being the worst purchase I have ever made and that is saying something. I have put up with months and months of temporary fixes, thawing with hairdryers, mopping up pooling water on the floor of the refrigerator section and just doing without ice.Recently, I have had 3 service calls for the ice maker. The ice maker freezes solid and wont dispense ice. Then, I need to move all my refrigerated food to a cooler and my frozen food to the outside freezer; turn off the entire unit for 2 days, with both doors propped open; and put an air circulator/warmer inside, just so the repairman can pry the completely frozen icemaker out without cracking the wall of the refrigerator. On the last service call, he replaced the entire ice maker for about $550.00. My total out of pocket for repairs and service is about $850.00. I fully expect that amount to grow. Now, it sort of works, but makes very little ice, (which will not be enough with summer coming).I cannot get cubed ice, just crushed ice; there is water dripping down the front of the refrigerator and it is a constant source of aggravation. Samsung wasnt sympathetic or helpful when I talked with them, and they suggested that I should have purchased their 5-year Samsung Service Agreement for $1750.00 when I had a chance. Really? They were supposed to call me back (within 24 hours) 10 months ago, and Im still waiting. Complete waste of time, money, effort, energy and resources. Do not ever buy a Samsung refrigerator because they are expensive junk, was the advice of my repair person, who has owned an appliance repair business for many years. I could have saved myself lots of frustration, and money, if I had done my research.

My husband dried it out with a hair dryer and it worked for a while then quit again. Now, nothing works to keep it operational. Considering the number of complaints, a replacement or a work around that actually works is needed. No one who purchased this microwave less than 2 years ago should have to write off their purchase. I am having the same freezer issue with my 2 1/2 year old Samsung refrigerator! This is ridiculous! I replaced my 14 year old GE Profile refrigerator with this one! I never had an issue with my GE and Ive had nothing but issues with my Samsung appliances. A couple of months ago, the dryer had an electrical (NOT lint) fire so I had to buy another dryer and chose to replace my Samsung washer same time...and they were only 4 years old. I called customer service and she asked Anyone hurt or was there property damage? When I said no, thankfully I was at home and unplugged it before the fire trucks got there... she said... sorry. Your 4 year old dryer is out of warranty! She wanted to document any damage in case there would be a lawsuit. I dont care if its out of warranty or not... NO appliance should catch on fire. I dont care how old it is! Now... my freezer is not working and I lost all my frozen food. I called Samsung last night when I discovered it and she tried a couple of things with me then referred me to a dealer that is 2 hours away! They need to own it and take responsibility by providing recalls/repairs. I will never buy another Samsung appliance again! Samsung does NOT stand by their products. Period.

I wish I did more research and read reviews before getting into a Samsung refrigerator. 2 1/2 years ago, I bought a new refrigerator. Since I was spending more than a $1,000 on a fridge, I expected to last the usual 10 years and did not buy the guarantee. Well, I had problems with the refrigerator from day 1. A week after it was delivered I had to call service because of problems with the ice maker. After that service was called three more times with same problems. Motor is out now. Of course Samsung said you are out of luck since you did not pay $400 extra for the guarantee. I explained to them that is a persisting problem but they just say you are out of luck. Horrible customer service and worse product I ever spend money on. My washer and dryer are from another brand and I had them for more than 10 years. I will never buy a Samsung product again and will make sure my friends and family never buy a Samsung product either. Do yourself a favor and skip Samsung.

I have a model RF24FSEDBSR/AA. The ice maker repeatedly freezes up, requiring me to take a hair dryer and melt the block of ice thats formed around the internal dispenser. I usually have to do this about every month. Then, I usually have difficulty getting the ice bucket aligned so I can reinsert it. The owners manual says if it doesnt line up to turn the helix on the back of the bucket 90 degrees and try again. Ive tried repeatedly (and not just 90 degree turns) and havent had any luck. I feel like Im trying to crack the combination on a safe! The bucket sits on our kitchen counter until I calm down and regain my patience to try again. Would not get a Samsung fridge again.

Once again I just used a hair dryer to thaw out the ice maker on our Samsung RF22KREDBSR/AAQ manufactured APR 2016. Just got through using a hair dryer to defrost the ice maker again, every 4-6 weeks. Seems to be a common problem with no solution from the blogs. Really got nowhere with Samsung, just a scripted response. It appears that this is still a major issue with their re-design, maybe this design should be included in a class action lawsuit. I will not be looking at any Samsung product in the future. It is also getting more difficult to get the ice bucket back in.

This Samsung fridge has a SERIOUS design flaw and Samsung has been aware of it for a long time, per all the blogs, articles and YouTube videos about this problem! Our fridge is 3 mos old and already its doing the symptoms (loud popping/cracking/gurgling noises and water dripping within sealed walls) that our fridge will have this serious problem one day. We do not have a door water/ice dispenser and dont have the bottom ice maker activated. On many Samsung refrigerators, ice builds up on the coils (in sealed section) with the dripping making the buildup a solid, large chunk of ice that eventually BLOCKS the cold air into the fridge and also stops the fan. Samsung tells us the noises are normal but they can send a technician - since this is a design flaw and we dont want the fridge taken apart only to be told to use a hair dryer to defrost that area... We declined the service call. The seller (Lowes) refuses to take the fridge back and substitute a comparable one (cu ft etc) no-cost. The fridge looks nice, has good room and cools (for now) but I dread the day when the fan stops and hope it does not cause a FIRE as a result of the fan blades stopped but the fan motor continuing! If there is a recall or class action measure taken, my email is: **.

The technicians used my hair dryer to melt ice then left. After several visits, I asked Samsung to replace my refrigerator which had an obvious problem. They did give me one more free repair. After that was used, I had to pay out of my pocket. I did BUY an extended warranty thru the repair company. The refrigerator is freezing up again and the technicians can not come out for two weeks. It’s been a great fridge up till now. Don’t ask me about our washing machine & dryer though. Our dryer is possessed. Have had my $3000 Samsung Refrig for just over 5 years. Similar results as everyone else here... the fridge began acting up approx. 6 mos. ago... since then have had 6 service calls to fix. Seems after replacing the ENTIRE back inside panel for $200, fridge is working, but now freezer is not. Cannot even begin to explain how FRUSTRATING AND EXACERBATING this experience has been. Made numerous calls and emails to Samsung, even got bounced up to their VIP Customer Service (for those of us who have had POOR service issues) and they do NOTHING!!! Since is out of warranty, were on our own! I own many Samsung products including washer/dryer, cell phones, TVs, and now will begin buying other brands as I get rid of every Samsung product in my home. There are OBVIOUSLY design defects/flaws in their refrigerator designs (as the serviceman told me also!) and they know it. They keep coming out with these fixes for things... of course, which are NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. So we have to continue to pay for these. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED AND FRUSTRATED WITH SAMSUNG IN GENERAL. HOPEFULLY THEY WILL GET WHAT IS COMING TO THEM. I DONT EVEN WISH TO GIVE THEM ONE STAR... THEYRE NOT WORTH IT!!

The good part of this fridge is it looks very nice but. I love the design inside. If you buy this make sure you take the 5 year warranty. You will need it. I bought this fridge 2/17 to replace a Kenmore I had for 20 years. The ice maker froze you all the time, right from the beginning. I had to get a hair dryer to melt the ice build up. In 11/19 the circulating fan started making noise for about a week then finally stopped. I lost all the food that I had. I called where I had warranty and they said fan went out and had to order a new one which took a week, now Im without a fridge. I got it repaid and thought things happen, no problem. Now 4/20, 4 months later same problem. The fan went out again.. Im 71 years old I had 3 weeks of food in the fridge I had delivered because of Covid 19 virus. I lost $250.00 worth of food. I cant go out because of quarantine. I have no way of keep anything cold.. I called where I have warranty. They came out next day and had to order the part. Its been 10 days and still no part and no fridge and no food!!!I went online just to see if maybe there was a recall on this fridge and found out there is a class action suit against Samsung for this exact unit.. I called Samsung and explained the problem. Not sure what to do. I called W.A.M.G channel 6 news to the reporter that did a story about this unit on 11/19 and how it was plagued with problems.. They want to come out to interview me and do a story on this fridge but with Covid-19 they cant at this time and told me to call Samsung. At this time Samsung has done nothing. Im still without a fridge and food. On Social Security, 71 years old and totally frustrated with this unit.. I would not recommend this fridge. Buy another brand.

We have had this fridge for less than 3 years, as early as 6 months from when we bought it the ice maker would stop working and the fan would get loud, after having a service tech out he said it was a common issue with these as they constantly do this, so I went on line and found numerous people with the french door and ice maker combo have the same issue--Seems like a design flaw, but Samsung doesnt seem to do anything about it. So usually once every 6-8 months I would have to dump the entire fridge/freezer (we keep an old fridge in the basement essentially to allow for this) and unplug the fridge and allow it to thaw out overnight, then I remove the back panel of the fridge (inside) and thaw the cooling unit out with a hair dryer, re-assemble it and we are good to go.The last year we seem to be needing to do this every 2-3 months, I had to do it tonight after 5 weeks--This is ridiculous. My wife said, Wow you are getting really fast at taking this apart and thawing out the cooling unit--While this was meant as a compliment, its kind of crazy that I need to become fast or good at thawing out the fridge--The one in the basement thats 15 years old I never have to touch--The thing is we own a Kitchen cabinet business and we always have to recommend appliances to clients, guess what we DO NOT recommend to them, 1) samsung appliances in general (just replaces 4 year old samsung washer/dryer set) (2) fridges with ice makers. So please do your self a favour and do not buy this fridge. Samsung needs to stop making the RF25HMEDBSR OR ANY UNIT SIMILAR AS ITS A PIECE OF JUNK.

It has the ice maker in frig. area and one in bottom of freezer. 5th day of owning it... filter light came on -- upper ice maker jams every other day -- crushed ice portion has never worked -- its not crushed -ever. And it takes over 2 mins for 4 oz... (yeah youre standing forever for sml amount). Long drawer/fresh veggies or whatever... becomes frozen constantly -- we are weekly taking everything out to get all the water and ice out! Funny thing is we did a consumer report before buying a Frig. This model was new on market and very expensive. Its a piece of junk. Samsung should recall all of these -- its obvious there are hundreds with same problem... Oh yeah -- we also bought washer (front loader) dryer both with all the bells and whistles -- from Best Buy -- (Dryer only goes 40 mins in 1 setting) - its takes almost 2 hrs to dry 10 towels -- (Electric) -- after 3 months... washer doesnt hold as much as its supposed to! Again paid a fortune for all 3... new on market! Honestly wished we had our old Kenmore products back. You couldnt pay me to buy a Samsung product ever again.

So, what is a person to do? Also I have a Samsung refrigerator and water is leaking into the vegetable bins at the bottom. I dont know where it is coming from. I am very angry that Samsung doesnt stand behind their products. I will never buy another Samsung product again and will tell all my friends of my experience.

My review is the ** customer service I have received from Samsung. I purchase a refrigerator from Lowes and had it only about three months when the ice maker messed up. I filed a claim with Samsung and they were supposed to send the part to fix it. It has now been four months and I have gotten no part. And when I call, I get the run-around. I have emailed and get the run-around also. I regret buying it because its poor customer service and poor business. I will make complaints to as many places as possible. I had even bought the 5-year extended warranty, but I cant even get it taken care of under the first year so I dont know how thats all going to work. I will not buy another Samsung product. I just wish I would have known all this before I bought the fridge, washer and dryer from them.

When you spend over $3,000.00 on a top of the line refrigerator, you have certain expectations. We bought a Samsung French Door Refrigerator about a year ago. Model RF31FMESBBSR/AA. Do not waste your money on this refrigerator. I spent two days searching and comparing. I wish I had instead spent 2 minutes on this site. Ice Master is what they call the ice maker. It is a piece of crap. Small cubes that dispense out painfully slow. After about 6 months, the ice compartment started getting cracks in it. Now, ice maker freezes and stops working about every other week. I have to melt the ice with a hair dryer to get it going again. Also - door bins started breaking after 3 months. All but one are now broken. They tried to make these pretty, instead of functional. 3 pieces - plexiglass, plastic, and a metal band that holds the plexiglass in place. Once the cheap/thin plexi cracks and breaks, the band falls off. Warranty procedure is an absolute joke. Stay away from Samsung. It looks way better than it works.

Samsung RFG237AARS - Dont buy a Samsung refrigerator. Mine quit cooling after 7 years. Both the Samsung factory rep and an independent repair person said the discharge lines from the compressor to the dryer, diverter valve, or the evaporator coils were plugged. Both suggest the repairs would be a hit or miss type repair and would be very costly. Both suggested buying a new refrigerator. I was also informed parts are also very hard to obtain for the Samsung and LG brand refrigerators. Samsung should recall their product! The ice maker leaks, freezes up constantly. We have given up and buy ice now. My nephew has the same problem with his Samsung fridge. My son bought a new Samsung washer/dryer and it leaked and caused extensive damage to his home, within the first two weeks of ownership. I would not buy or recommend their appliances to anyone. Buyer beware. They do not stand behind their appliances. We will be joining the class action lawsuit against their refrigerators.

Samsung Refrigerator RS2530BBP - We purchased this refrigerator from Conn’s Appliance in March 2009. About 4 months ago, we noticed that the refrigerator compartment was not cooling. We researched the problem on the internet and found a lot of people had reported the same problem with this particular model. Following the suggestions on the internet, we removed the panel in the rear of the freezer compartment and found the evaporator core was completely covered in ice. We used a hair dryer and melted the ice. This resolved the problem, but only temporarily.Within 2 weeks, the refrigerator compartment was warming up again. We, again, took the panel off in the freezer and melted the ice. One of the suggestions we found was to replace the sensor on the evaporator core so we ordered a new sensor and replaced it. This did not resolve the problem. We called 4 different appliance repair companies and none would work on a Samsung refrigerator. We have resorted to thawing out the freezer every 2 weeks to keep the refrigerator cold enough to keep our food from spoiling. At this point, we are shopping for a new refrigerator and we are NOT looking at Samsung. We have Samsung TVs in our house and Samsung cell phones and have not had any problems with them but we will never again buy a Samsung refrigerator.

I not only dont recommend this product, but I also would suggest that you avoid Samsung products altogether. We purchased a dryer with matching washer and have had multiple problems with them. After six technician visits we still dont have a fully working washer or dryer and to make things worse they have told us we need to pay if we want another technician visit. I sent the following email to Samsungs supposed executive customer relations department as well as directly to the Samsung US CEO, it was completely ignored by them.Up until just recently I have been a huge fan of Samsung products. I have owned or currently own monitors, mobile phones, washers, dryers, and TVs. I have been a loyal customer but my most recent purchase has me awestruck. About four months ago we purchased a SmartCare VRT laundry set. The day after it was installed we woke to find our home with a strong smell of gas. I determined it was coming from the laundry room and suspected the laundry appliance installation was at fault. We called Samsung for service and a technician was sent out. The technician investigated the gas leak and informed me that the gas lines to our new home were leaking and not one of the Samsung appliances. I called the gas company and when they arrived they found that there was a gas leak, but it wasn’t in the house lines. It was coming from the dryer. We called Samsung a second time. When the technician performed the second appointment he acknowledged that the dryer was leaking and scheduled another appointment to replace the faulty part. Three visits from the Samsung technician and finally we get a working dryer after two weeks. A few months later my wife started complaining about the washer stopping and throwing an error in the middle of hot water loads. After it happened a few times I told her to call Samsung for repair. The technician came out and spent about thirty minutes with the washer. He eventually called me in and told me that it has hot water and that there wasn’t much he could do. I informed the technician that when my wife pointed out the issue I recalled an error message “4C” being displayed when the wash would stop functioning and constantly beep with the error message. After basically living with a washer that won’t use hot water cycles for a couple of weeks my wife noticed that the dryer wasn’t drying clothes normally. We called Samsung again and informed them that our washer was still malfunctioning and now the dryer was not working well either. This time before the appointment I spent a couple of hours recording video on my phone of the 4C error and erratic behavior of the washer. The next day the technician arrived and spent about fifteen minutes with the dryer. The technician informed me that we shouldn’t use specific features (smart features like auto dry) on our dryer and that we should use timed dry. I was told that although the dryer had some warmth that there is heat so the dryer is working fine but at no time did the technician check the temperature with, how does he know if it’s getting up to proper temperature? Yeah, the dryer gets warm but not hot, in fact not even close to hot. When I mentioned the washer and show the technician the video of the malfunction, I was told it wasn’t on the work order and even though we called for service for it and had video of the malfunction that it could not be looked at because it wasn’t on the service order. Tonight, I followed the technician’s instructions and used the time dry to dry a handful of clothes. After one hour the clothes on high heat with eco dry turned off the clothes were still quite wet. The dryer clearly doesn’t work as it did a month ago. The technician also recommended cleaning our ducts but seriously it’s a six-month-old home and my wife does maybe three loads a week for two people, so the equipment is hardly being overworked much less should I have a duct problem. I also noticed that my wife is very good about cleaning the dryer lint catcher. She does it every load from what I see. I hate to ramble on but as you can see this has been nothing less than an adventure and a complete waste of my time not to mention the time off from work involved in six technician visits that didn’t result in our appliances being fixed. I recently posted all this information to the Samsung Facebook page and it was completely ignored for a week which is simply insulting at this point.

While Samsung has become reliable in their TV and cellphone line, much improvements in quality are desired in their appliance line. A Samsung dryer - a recent model that I got, broke down within 1.5 years and their paid service appointment was more than a week wait, leaving the appliance downtown for the consumer. Samsung fridge that I bought had numerous issues including, water leaks that damaged wooden floor, fan not turning, icing in fridge section, sensors needing replacement and such, over the years of its use.Irony is that while these appliances are styled well with their electronics and such, underlying functional quality of their latest appliances as well was seen driven by relative poor quality components that will guarantee repairs past their warranty period. The feedback to the quality department is simple - learn from quality of LG and improve component quality to enhance on the on the functional reliability for the appliance to function trouble free for about 5 years at the minimum. Short of that, itll leave a bad taste in customer use, forcing them to look at brands with better quality.

Purchased a Samsung washer, dryer and refrigerator approx. 1 month ago. On 9-29 fridge and freezer stopped working while at work, thawed out and spoiled food. Fridge and freezer will not cool. Washer is also now listed as defective due to safety hazard. Frequent phone calls to Samsung has resulted in no resolution to this issue. I am constantly being told I have to wait 24-48 hours to hear from different departments. Today, I was told I have to wait another 24-48 hours to hear from someone in Refunds and Exchanges via telephone. I asked to contact them directly but was told they have no phone number because they are a back office department. I expressed my displeasure and asked for my call to be elevated past Executive Customer Relations and was told thats not possible, they are the highest level of customer service.I then asked to speak to a supervisor and was told I would have to be put on an list and someone would contact me back in 24-48 hours. 2 days to speak to a supervisor? I was informed that if an exchange of the refrigerator is decided on, it would be another 15 days for delivery. This is totally unacceptable. Not only the frequent waiting for 24-48 hours to be contacted by Samsung but I was denied the opportunity to speak to a higher level of customer service. On the day I purchased these major appliances I spent $3000 total and now 2 out of the 3 appliances are defective. I am unhappy with the customer service I have received up to this point. They are not receptive to the issues. The time frame that Samsung is putting me on is unacceptable. It shouldnt take 48 hours to make a decision for a customer that has invested thousands of dollars in Samsung. In the meantime, I have a dead $3000 refrigerator in my kitchen with no resolution and nowhere to turn as far as customer service. This was my BBB complaint. After filing a BBB complaint, I was contacted by a rep from the Office of President. She acknowledged my current problem with the refrigerator. She explained that she will now be handling my case and I can contact her directly. She explained she is still waiting to see the result of my issue from the refunds and exchange office and she will contact me the next day. The next day arrived and I had to call them to find out the results. I was told the request to exchange the fridge was kicked back (declined) because there are no service programs in the area. I am now stuck with a refund.I expressed my concern for this due to the fact that I purchased the fridge on sale, and its listed on Samsungs website for $2999. I paid approx $1800 and will be losing the value of the fridge by receiving a refund. After back and forth explanations, she explained how I would be receiving a call from the refunds and exchange office... in another 24-48 hours. Today is October 6th. She said I would be receiving a call either tomorrow or Monday the 10th of October. The refunds and exchange office has already seen my case several times and even took action on it, why do they need another 48 hours to review it? So we head into the weekend once again with definitive solution. When I hear from them on Monday, how many more phone calls will need to be waited for and how long till I actually see the refund? Once again I was told there is no higher level of CS, shes following procedures and protocols and there is no way she can expedite the call from refunds and exchanges. After expressing my overwhelming dissatisfaction with Samsung, its customer service and its policies and procedures I inquired how does Samsung go about getting the defective fridge from me. She informed that I am responsible for disposal of the fridge and will not be reimbursed for any money spent from doing so.Once again, this is totally unacceptable customer service from a company of this magnitude. There is no difference between what a standard CS rep can accomplish and what rep from the Office of the President can accomplish. I still wish to pursue my complaint and speak to someone higher in this company. Customers should not be treated like this. I will no longer be doing business with Samsung and will advise friends and family of my experience as well.

Samsung has a two year class action lawsuit against it and has known about its faulty icemakers for YEARS, but it continues to sell refrigerators that cannot be repaired. If you are lucky, your icemaker will work for the year it is under warranty. However, expect within six months after that first year, your icemaker will freeze and require constant thawing by a blowdryer. You can pay $250-$500 for a service fee for the technician to inform you that there is NO repair and NO replacement. Your only option is to continue to thaw the icemaker area with a blowdryer EVERY DAY! RUN, do not walk, RUN as fast as you can from Samsung refrigerators!

Samsung Model RF32FMQDBSR/AA. I purchased the Samsung 4 door refrigerator around 8 months ago. I follow all the instructions regarding the ice maker when I went on vacation. When I got back home again I check my owners manual and follow the instructions with the ice maker. After 24 hours there was no ice make yet. I check the manual again to make sure I did everything I was supposed to do. Once again I waiting and no Ice. After giving it a week and having the Ice maker not making any Ice, I contact Samsung. The lady at the phone ask me for the model number, my phone, and located the account then she proceed to asked me what was the issue. I explained it to her that the Ice maker was not working that I try everything in the manual but it did not work. I also explain that I follow the instructions to removed the Ice bucket, however the bucket wasnt coming out, at all. She ask me some questions about if the Ice light was lit up on the door and if said off the Ice maker wasnt going to make ice. No kidding Sherlock. Im not a moron. I calmly explain to her that after a week of not having Ice I turn it off. No sense on having the feature on if is not working. She then advised me that if it was something they cant fix by phone but they needed to send a repair person then I was going to get charge for the visit. But if the repair person was needed then the visit was free of charge. I was told that a service representative was going to called me within 2 business days. She proceed to gave me the service number reference that I needed to gave the tech (**). As she told me I received a call from the service tech to schedule the appointment. However the service tech was from Oklahoma and Im in Pennsylvania. The tech was sorry for the misunderstanding, it wasnt his fault. I contacted Samsung again and I explain to the male representative the issue with the address and I gave him my reference number. The gentlemen proceed to tell me that my refrigerator didnt have warranty. Wait what happens in 3 days? I explained that it when I spoke with the lady that gave me the reference number my refrigerator had warranty. Well Im not one to argue with customer service representative since they are provided a script on what to said. I told him Just give me the tech number please. He did gave me a service representative from Reading PA. I called them to schedule an appointment and when I gave the lady who answer the phone the reference number. She proceed to tell me I needed to provide for them the receipt of purchased, that the visit was going to be $70 plus labor and parts. I again, didnt want to argue another customer service representative. I make the schedule, however after thinking about it I cancel it. Who knows what they are going to charge me. What happen to the warranty? This refrigerator is Top Samsung Product with a cost of almost 4,000 dollars. If Im going to paid Im choosing who I let in my house. I have Samsung products all over my house since I believed to stick with one company, washer, dryer, phone, microwave on and on and on. I have never contacted Samsung for service. The first time that I need service They give me a hard time, thats not good customer service. Since Im selling my house and moving out of state soon, instead of paying a repair person I will sell ALL my Samsung electronic and start new with another company. Before you spend that much money on a Samsung product make sure they are not going to give you the runaround.
