I was searching for a replacement for another refrigerator and I know Viking had some quality about it. My wife liked it too when we were in the store. The team at the Viking dealer was helpful and cooperative. Everything went down smoothly. This ref is our first French door and I will have to get used to bending over to get into the freezer, but I like all of its features. Im satisfied so far with the quality and it hasnt broken down yet in todays world. Id recommend it.

Weve owned a built-in Viking refrigerator before. The new home we purchased was a construction and the area was really unusual. They had already picked G.E. Monogram appliances but we heard their refrigerator wasnt good. We wanted a higher end refrigerator and since we had experience with Viking, we ordered one online through AJ Madison. It was a stand-alone and theres not many high-end companies that make a stand alone. We didnt have to pay self-tax and shipping. The refrigerator looks pretty cool and the functions are great. Weve been very happy with Viking.

Within 3 months, I started having problems with all three appliances. The decals wiped off. When I complained to Viking, they said that cosmetics were not covered after 3 months. I dont know if my oven is on or what the temperature is. How is this cosmetic? I have had dozens of visits from Viking repair experts. They dont know how to order the correct parts. I have been taken away from my work for nothing. They come out but they leave without accomplishing a thing. I have had 2 door hinge repairs and the refrigerator will not automatically close. Viking has driven me insane. With all the money they have spent trying to repair my appliances, they should have just replaced the items free of charge. We, the consumer, are the ones suffering while they sit back and laugh. Dont ever buy Viking products. You will be sorry.

Viking is amazing and they have come a long way. I’ve owned all different versions and as a contractor, I put them in a lot of different things. The new ones are great. I chose them over Wolf at the time due to their price. However, the door wasn’t set right and the light broke. So I’ve been waiting for them to order the part, come in here and finish it. Other than that, I love the range. The guys did a good job and theyre very consistent. I called to the Viking team once and they were very helpful. They should give more information such as the steps in using a gas oven for cooking and send that out, but so far so good with my Viking range.

I ordered from Viking Ranges online and they held the appliances for us for six months since we were remodeling. It was delivered from Texas to Minnesota and it took five business days. My other commercial ovens have an all seamless steel top but this one has shiny black, which is harder to keep clean than the others. Still, we’re very happy with the quality of Viking Ranges.

I’ve known about Viking Ranges forever. I felt that it had everything that I needed at the price point that I could afford. I wanted a Wolf because everybody has a Wolf and raves about it. But I thought that it was out of my price range. I wondered where could I get something of equal quality but without all the bells and whistles, which was why I bought a basic Viking range with no electronics, just the straight goods. We dealt with Trail Appliance and liked them very much. The salesman there had the very same Viking range and was really positive about it. They also offered a free set of pots and pans once you bought your Viking range, but I’ve contacted them twice, and nobody has gotten back to me about it. That bothered me. Other than that, we couldn’t be happier with the experience. The ranges quality is excellent. My favorite thing is how hot it could get and how low it could go without disruption.

It would take days to fully explain all of the trouble weve had with our Viking refrigerator and freezer. They are both about five years old and have been nothing but trouble. The first freezer was deemed a lemon and was replaced just before we purchased our home. The replacement freezer has never worked properly. Over the past year, I have had the local repair company at my home about a dozen times. My children are familiar with the man. They greet him by name; we even got him a Christmas gift! That is how familiar we are with the repairman.Last March, the refrigerator stopped working. It took over a week just to have someone come and diagnose the issue. Then, the part we needed was on back order. We were without a refrigerator for over a month. As a wife and a mother of two young children, you can imagine the problems this caused. Once it was repaired, it worked for a few months, until we began having issues again in the summertime. We also had an ongoing issue with the freezer developing a sheet of ice on the back wall. On December 18, 2018, we had the repairman come for the issue with the ice in the freezer (I think this was his fourth time coming for that particular issue), as well as an issue with the refrigerator developing a sheet of ice behind the drawers. Each time we have one problem repaired, a new one comes up. I actually called Viking Customer Service and spoke in detail with a representative on February 12th. I explained that we had been without a refrigerator since December (in addition to the ice developing, there was another issue that caused the refrigerator to stop cooling). The part needed to repair this problem was on backorder. She was very kind and helpful and assured me she would return my call within 48 hours. I have yet to hear back from her.The cost to replace the refrigerator and freezer is over $20k. The fact that we have an appliance that is that expensive and it rarely functions properly is absolutely ridiculous. I would happily purchase another brand, but nothing is the same size as the Viking. Therefore, were looking at having to renovate our kitchen and change the cabinets to accommodate a new refrigerator and freezer. I had a sliver of hope after speaking to the customer service representative, but now I know that was too good to be true. Not only are the Viking products unreliable, they dont care about the consumer.I have never been so dissatisfied with a product or a company. I have spent countless hours on the phone with the repair company and days at home waiting on service. Ive wasted money on the repairs, not to mention the obscene amount of food, both refrigerated and frozen, that Ive had to throw away. I honestly cannot believe they are able to get away with selling these products.

After reading some of the reviews, I guess Ive gotten off easy with my fully Viking stocked kitchen, but nevertheless I feel compelled to add to the pile of one star ratings. Granted my Viking appliances are 10 years old, but having had GE and KitchenAid appliances, which last 20 years, my expectations are that if Viking is going to charge THAT much money for an oven, or a dishwasher, then itll last even longer than the other brands. We had a years worth of trouble with our oven burning everything before it finally exploded (literally). After 2 months Viking finally sent the right part. Oh, but they told the repairman to bend the piece to make it fit; even the repair man was incredulous. Now we have been waiting 4 weeks for a part for our dishwasher. I called the day it was due in (today), and nope, not ready. Itll be another 2-3 weeks. Its back ordered. Who is making these parts? Elves that work only by the light of the moon?! Viking: Figure this out. Figure out how to make better appliances (Many, many of your competitors have already figured this out. Its not rocket science). And then, figure out how to get your parts faster. Your turnaround time takes me back to the 1860s. Its absurd. Thankfully we didnt buy these appliances, the previous owners did. But I cannot wait to replace them. My plan is to take all 4 Viking appliances to Burning Man and set them on fire.

I chose a simple Viking fridge because if its too complex, theres a bigger chance that it will break. Ive had the fridge for half a year and Im satisfied. But the shelf on the door fell once I closed the door and it broke. I sent an email to the Viking service center a couple of weeks ago but nobody answered. I was wondering if someone can send a new shelf to me to replace it.

My Viking lettering on the face plate to set the knobs and buttons to has been wiped off and now we do not know what temps we have set at or any of the other functions such as self-cleaning. We used standard Windex to regularly clean the oven face and eventually the lettering just dissolved. We had Viking replace the plate at no cost and with great hassle through Friedmans appliances and the second time we requested another plate they just blew us off. They would not even order it through Viking because they said it was discontinued. I will Never buy another Viking appliance as long as I live - I am a chef and cook at least 5 times a week. This has been extremely frustrating.

We had Viking previously in North Carolina and liked it very much. We bought a brand-new Viking French door oven and a stove top. But the refrigerator, we bought second-hand from a friend of mine. She ended up buying a brand-new pair for almost $20,000 and we’re like, “Good God! We can’t afford that.” We asked what shell do with the others and she said shell just donate them so we bought them from her. We’ve only been using them for two weeks but we like how it’s not deep. So, everything’s not buried in the fridge. Plus, the quality is second to none.

Ive been a homeowner for a lot of years and Ive always seen and known about Viking Ranges. Theyre lovely, a dream come true and everybody wants one. We have an appliance store down the street and when we went down there to look for dishwashers, they were running a special where if we bought a range, wed get a dishwasher for free. So, we just dove in, bit the bullet and got it. Weve dealt with the fellow there several times and hes always been great with us. Weve had to purchase items over the years and we always go back to him. He had a floor model of this particular range and he said that it was a great product, so thats what we went with. Everything was great and it worked out really well. Viking speaks for itself and you cant go wrong with it. Its a beautiful piece of appliance and I love it. Its a statement piece when you walk into the kitchen.

We built our home 18 years ago and ordered all new appliances. Didnt notice the latch was not working until a couple years later because I thought it was just me - learning to bake with a gas oven as opposed to my old electric. I was complaining to my brother-in-law who is Mr. Fix-it and he noticed it wasnt closing properly. The latch was bent. With all his tools and strength he was unable to bend it at ALL! This did not happen by me closing the door, this was a manufacturer defect. Viking has refused to replace the door so I am stuck having to alter all my baking. I will NEVER recommend Viking again! Terrible customer service.

I spent almost $1000 on a Viking Microwave/Convection Oven - this was a terrible mistake. Service techs have been out 6 times repairing fuses etc. The control panel also broke which trips my circuit breakers. A new panel costs around $500. Ridiculous. I went to Barry’s Appliance in Bridgewater, New Jersey, and they had all different brands on there. I liked the style of the Viking range. It looked nice. I thought it fit well in my kitchen that we had just put in. We got the hood, and it was very good. I like the convection oven a lot and the quality of the range is excellent. However, the door doesnt look like it closes all the way but they told me that’s ‘cause of the gasket that’s on it. It almost looks like it’s a little open on the side but they said that all the Viking Ranges are like that. There was also a problem with one of the gas jets when we first got it. There was a loose connection inside. They sent a repair guy down and took the whole stove apart. We tightened every connection in it. He was there for three or four hours and I haven’t had problems since. My experience with Vikings is great and I would recommend the Viking range.

When I walked into the showroom, I saw this Viking refrigerator and I liked the look of it. Viking has a good name too. When I made the purchase, the reps I dealt with were good and helpful. Ive had my Viking refrigerator for about three weeks now and I like it overall. However, there are some things I have some issues with. The refrigerator is so-called commercial and the compressors are a little louder than I would have expected. Also, the ice bin is trash. There are major problems with it. For one, there is a lower side in the back so when the ice fills up and you pull the ice bin out, the ice falls into the track. When you try to close it, the ice gets crushed in there and you have a hard time closing it. The ice bin also leaks so it freezes over the wires that are underneath the ice bin. At some point, that is probably gonna be an issue. Another issue is the toe kick although its not a big deal. They just didnt put it on yet and I cant figure out how to do it. On the other hand, I like the pizza box holder at the bottom. And although I didnt like these at first, I now like the automatic closing doors, as well as all the meat and vegetable compartments. It is also very bright inside the refrigerator. I like the lights.

We’ve had a Viking range for 12 years. We compared Sub-Zero and Viking when we looked to replace our freezer and refrigerator. Viking was more affordable so we went with them. However, the quality is not the best. Our Sub-Zeros that we replaced were older models and they were built better back then than they are today for both. The temperature is not consistent and some of the settings arent correct. The freezer will go anywhere from 10 degrees above zero to 10 degrees below zero even set on a fairly high setting. It’s wasting a lot of energy. Overall, theyre very nice looking but Im not impressed with the quality, not for the price.

Do not buy Viking Appliances! Our stove and refrigerator have both needed service of major parts from day one. Viking customer service was helpful with my stove with 3 issues in the last 5 years. Now our refrigerator doesnt work. No repair place will work on Viking and guarantee parts. Reaching out to Viking for a certified Viking repair place, its taken 6 days with follow-up every day on my part for them to finally refer me to a company that wants $200 just to come out to look for the first 1/2 hour and charging additional per half hour. This does not include repairs or parts. If it takes a second trip, I pay another $200 trip charge. Beware Beware Beware! I have owned a Viking refrigerator for 3 years and have had 9 service calls so far. The model rvrf336ss5 has been known to have leaking issues and freezing issues in the chill drawers. In fact, Viking changed the model number after making some fixes, yet the last repairman mentioned it is a bad investment to buy either model. It is a sleek and nice fridge in appearance but don’t be fooled.Viking will do support teams are essentially trained to do everything they can to not replace their faulty merchandise. After 9 service calls the service department said they still lacked sufficient information. Viking will send their own “approved” service department, who essentially are too scared to report the truth because Viking will pull their contracts. This isn’t an opinion rather what we were backhandedly told. I am a handicapped frontline medical worker who has now retired and my husband is a frontline medical worker. During these awful times dealing with a faulty refrigerator and crooked service department is the last thing we need. Their refrigerators leak notoriously. I liked the quality of the Viking Range that I have observed at a family member’s house. I spent about two hours in the store and we finally landed on a product that I liked. However, I was really dissatisfied when the installer came to put the Viking Range in. They charged me $200 for the install, which I don’t remember having that conversation with my salesperson. I paid $50 to have them install the dishwasher so I thought I had paid for all of my installation fees already when I purchased the equipment. I paid them the $200 because my beef was not with them. My beef was with Famous Tate, who sold this stuff. I then brought my concerns to them. After some back and forth, and then realizing that I was not going to accept their answer, they finally gave me a credit of $200 on the purchase, which completely satisfied me. We also have a slight issue with our oven, where the door does not always close or shut off the lights. It is not pressing that little button that turns the light on and off. I have reminded my wife to call Famous Tate about it.

I’m from Mississippi and Viking is a local company. I chose it ‘cause I could get the full suite in the same brand, the fridge, range, dishwasher, and door microwave. The appliances are well-built and the appearance is good. The fridge, dishwasher and microwave have been okay, but I’ve had a few issues with the stove. There’s something on it thats supposed to be wiped off when installed and that wasn’t done, so the front of the stove rusted between the opening of the oven and the top of the range where the control knobs are at. Also, the igniter gave a little issue one time and my oven quit in the middle of cooking a strawberry cake.I was without an oven for over a week before they came to fix it and my other complaint is the response time on getting the warranty repairs completed, but some of that is not in Viking’s control. It’s the repair facility picking it up. The appliance repair company came and cleaned the thermal cut on the system. If it quits again, the igniter would need to be replaced. There were a few minor issues, but I’m pleased and satisfied overall.

Electronic control in door failed within the first year - replaced under guarantee. After 2 years water leaked because of a torn rubber door seal. At 3 and 1/2 years, while replacing another rubber door seal, discovered that the metal internal bar to which the bottom of the door attached had rusted and sealing screws no longer attached. Am completely disgusted with this supposed premium and professional dishwasher (actually, according to its back, made by Electrolux as is the Viking Pro refrigerator) - no one at Viking will discuss this, and at least one customer service person told me I was out of guarantee and out of luck. Will NEVER purchase a Viking appliance again! The logistics company delivered my Viking refrigerator to my house and dropped it off in my living room. They pushed it into the wall because its one of those built-in wall units. They didnt connect it or they connected it but it wasnt right. There was this bottom metal piece that was supposed to be installed. I asked the guys if they were supposed to do that. They said they were not allowed to install those for liability purposes. I would have to get somebody to do it. It cost me almost $500 to have a Viking specialist come out and install it.When the specialists came out, they said, “Your refrigerator’s not even drilled to the wall. Because if its not, what can happen is if you open the door, the whole thing could tip over and could crush you.” The guy said they were gonna secure it, which they did. That was a pain, to begin with. The refrigerator side works fine. But we noticed that the icemaker was really slow from day one. We went back and forth with the Viking warranty people and Build.com where I purchased the refrigerator from. They sent somebody out to fix it four times. After the last time, it still wasnt working right. It never would produce over 20 ice cubes. Every time they would come out, they would tell me to give it 24 to 48 hours and I would have a big bin full of ice cubes. That never happened. We had family over and birthday parties. I had to go to 7-Eleven and grab a bag of ice and stick it in my freezer. After paying $15,000, that doesnt make me happy.Build.com replaced the ice maker and its still not working right. They apologized and they went ahead and ordered me a new refrigerator. But that refrigerator is not going to arrive until April 2022 so Im stuck with this thing. It’s beautiful but it doesn’t make ice and the motor is really loud. I could have bought a car for that price I paid for the refrigerator so I want it to work 100%. Viking has been around for many years and they have beautiful products. After I placed the order with them versus Wolf, I happened to go online and I did some research and there are actually lots of really bad reviews. Viking is the least recommended. I have many regrets. I hate my refrigerator. We had issues with our other Viking products too like our stove and dishwasher.

My parents owned a Sub-Zero which only makes built-in refrigerators and not stand-up ones. Ive heard of Viking in the past and theyre my number two choice. However, I received my refrigerator damaged. A lot of parts under it were bent so its not leveled and I have to put a piece of wood behind the fridge to level it. Also, the bottom grille doesnt line up with the fridge. Theres also frost build-up all around the inside of the fridge where the cool air comes out of the little vents. Theres supposed to be a gap in between the shelves but theyre touching. And the door slams hard. It doesnt feel like a normal fridge. Its hard and its like plastic on plastic when it closes. The freezer door is not even with the refrigerator doors like its pushed in on one side. When I close it, it’s supposed to be flush with the doors but only one side is pushed down and one side is pulling out. The Viking team was friendly but they took a while to return calls. I spoke to a representative and she said she was going to check on my fridge. I had to call her the next week and they were supposed to call me back two days later and this last week but I still havent heard from them. The door is too heavy and constantly breaks. They will send someone to fix it, but it is a temporary fix. A band aid. We have thrown out hundreds of dollars worth of food because this fridge door will not close right (very bad design way — too heavy). They will not do the right thing and replace the fridge. I wish we bought the other brand that’s a bit more expensive but actually lasts and is built right. Don’t fall for the bundle deal. There’s a reason they offer it.

I purchased our Viking Refrigerator Model DFSB423D 48 side by side in 2005 and have had nothing but problems since 2006. Ice maker stopped working, tray at bottom fills, etc. Ice maker was replaced and its still having problems. After a year of services, Viking has said that the seal is unrepairable. They have offered us 50% off a new unit. So, we will be out of pocket $4800 for a refrigerator we dont even want. They need to replace the unit with no cost to us. There is a lemon law for appliances. How come no one has hired an attorney or started a class action? We are sending our final letter. We will wait for a response and then if the response is unacceptable, we will be hiring an attorney. Join us!

We have the built-in side by side Viking Refrigerator since we purchased our home new in 2007. The water dispenser never shuts off and anything on the top left shelf of the refrigerator freezes. The ice maker has no stopping point and fills the drawer until you cant remove it. The water dispenser stopped working a week ago and now doesnt make ice at all. Absolutely the worst refrigerator we have ever owned.

The Viking Range in our house has been in it longer than we have and weve been here for maybe four years but its pretty good. I got it serviced last Friday to make sure all the parts are working in order and for the most part, everything is working fairly well. I like the griddle part of the range because its fairly easy to use and clean. The whole range is easy to clean because everything pops off fairly easy. Im not a neat freak but its nice to be able to get all the food out of the crevices. Also, cooking on it is fairly easy. But, I cant get the temperature low enough. The low feature is too hot and when I simmer, I cant seem to get close enough to it without igniting the pilot light again. For example, usually with rice, you put on a low simmer and the low setting is just still too hot for it. Also, I dont know if this would interfere with the flame but we have a gas stove and an overhead exhaust and it would be nice to have the exhaust where the oven outtake is. Because instead of having an exhaust over the food, it would just be more on the same plane as the food. Its also nice to not have the fan on because its so loud when Im cooking and I feel like Im in a wind tunnel. But other than those, the functionality of the stove is quite useful. The dual oven is also pretty nice but its cavity cant fit a turkey. You have the three-inch roasting pin, the elevation to that and then you have the bird which has a big breadth to it so Im not able to put it in the oven. But, for the most part, its pretty nice with the conduction and all those features. Then, we have an industrial professional grade, so its raised off the floor a good three inches. You could use that to gain more cavity space. In addition, we have a little warming oven to the side and the width of that is too narrow but the height on it is perfect. I would like it a little bit wider for most dishes and sheet pans.I think its very reliable and very consistent. However, my husband said that if he had his wishes, he wouldnt buy a Viking range again, but he doesnt cook and he doesnt get into the kitchen at all. I think its because its such a big piece of equipment but the actual components of it are very small. Wolf is what he really liked and the dial controls are a lot more flexible based on what youre cooking and the cavity is much bigger. But I would say some positives with Viking is that the cooktop space of the range is very open. I have a lot of big pans but Im able to put two big pans side-by-side without having problems. Also, I can put a small pan on top and not feel like its being swallowed up by the burner.

When I renovated my kitchen in 2007, I purchased the Viking Professional Series dishwasher, fridge and gas top stove. IVE HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS WITH ALL OF THEM. After spending $11,000.00+ for these three appliances (that came highly recommended by the salesperson at a large, high end appliance store), I expected a good quality product to don my newly renovated dream kitchen... WHAT A HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT!!!Initially, the appliances all Sat in their boxes until my kitchen renovation was completed about 6 months after my purchases. Several months after installing the appliances, the DISHWASHER broke... the water would not drain properly. Viking repair man fixed, then happened again about a year later. I asked Viking rep to replace product since same issue was re-occurring and appeared to be a pre-existing problem. I was told no; that since the dishwasher was still under warranty they would send another repair man. Fixed again... then same thing happened again within a year... except now (even though they Sat unopened in boxes first the 6 months) the warranty was over.I was told the diverter valve needed replaced, and it would cost over $600.00 to repair!!! I was beside myself, I called Viking and said this was ridiculous since this was a pre-existing problem and I should not have to pay for repair. Well we all know their response... Cant help as no longer under warranty. A frightening and dangerous feature of the GAS STOVE TOP is the design of the on/off knobs. I am all of 110 lbs, and sometimes when I lean forward to stir a pot on a back burner, the pressure from my body will actually turn the flame from the front burner on!!! Also, periodically when I turn one burner on, one of the burners that is off will make a clicking noise. The REFRIGERATOR water dispenser broke after the first year. Later had troubles with the ice maker bar getting stuck in the on position, and more recently the clear plastic on the large pull out drawer cracked. Finally, the other day the refrigerator just stopped working - like it went into a defrost mode - ruined all frozen foods, and most of the refrigerated items. I called the store where I purchased the Vikings to see if maybe the refrigerator was still under warranty - they said no. I mentioned all the troubles I have had with these products, and the sales representative said they stopped carrying Viking products. I think that says it all!!!The repairman came, said it was the poorly designed freon line which was directed into a drip pan (for cooling purposes) causing the line to rust/corrode, and consequently leak the freon. He was surprised to see this since he said, running the line in this manner was stopped years ago. The repair was estimated at $600.00 to replace the line, but possibly $1000.00+ if other related problems were found. The repair man said probably better to cut my losses and go with a more reliable refrigerator like GE, Kenmore or Whirlpool - rather than throwing good money after bad. Like many I want to repair since cheaper than buying new... but based on reading these postings, and past repair experiences... Im afraid of getting burned once again. Being stuck between a rock and a hard place. :(I would NEVER, ever recommend buying these overly expensive appliances built with their cheap parts, and poor design features. I feel like I spent a lot of money and never received a good return on my hard earned dollars. Should be illegal. Guy who mentioned a class action suit may be on to something.

When we went to Nebraska Furniture Mart they had just taken the Viking Ranges out of a showroom because they were showroom models so the price was really good. Ive had the Viking range in my home for about a month now. I can read up on how to do some of the stuff but other than that I like them. My favorite thing is the ball bearing slide-out shelf. I recommend Viking Ranges.

I purchased Viking range from a local appliance dealer and installed it a month ago. I pretty much knew what I wanted ‘cause I had used the website and based on our space, my husband and I figured out what we wanted. They also answered some questions we had. They have a beautiful stove ring and some of the pieces that we were thinking about were on display which helped to be able to open the doors and look in and see some of the new features. It was nice to have a showroom with actual appliances in it. The quality is good so far. One of my favorite is the indoor grill top. Ive used the oven and the cook top. The only thing I havent used is the grill. Overall, Im confident with the product and Vikings reputation.

Viking always had a very high-quality name and it's one of the higher-end appliances that you can buy. Aside from that, I'm a big person that grew up where you didn't rely on other countries for anything and with Viking, everything is made here in the USA. It provides jobs for people here and the quality isn't junk. Compared to that, I've been seeing a lot of things deteriorate in products that were imported into the country.

Viking is a very reputable and a very fine company. I bought one of their ranges and its a fine product. But they had to replace it because there was a problem with the enamel and the oven breaking down. And they’ve been very good in standing by their warranty. When I submitted the claim, I got their phone number and I corresponded with a wonderful person who was in charge of that. She helped me and I had to send pictures to approve the issues. Then they had a person who came out and examined the range. After that, they exchanged it. The process took a week or so and it was very quick. Other than that, my Viking range is wonderful and it works very well. It has really nice features, too. Plus, it’s electric and I really enjoy it. My son is a chef but he would never cook on electric and he razes me about it all the time.

We purchased a VCRB536 Refridgerator and separate matching freezer for a kitchen remodel. Our Subzero 532 was operating perfectly although it was over 20 years old. The Viking door hinge spring broke, maybe $ 1000 to replace a $ 10 spring. Warranty coverage was denied. Now, the door bins are falling apart. Nothing heavy in them, but the ALL METAL door bins have plastic end caps that are cracking. Now I need to be careful the door doesnt fall off, but also watch the bins and contents falling when I open the door. Im very disappointing in this product and lack of support.

As a very dissatisfied and disappointed Viking customer, I would never recommend the product to anyone. I have often said to anyone who listens that our Viking kitchen appliances was the worst purchase we ever made. We have had more repairmen here to work on the highly touted Viking appliances in the last 6 years than in our entire 40-year history of home/appliance ownership. It is a joke. We are currently waiting for the Viking repairman once again to come fix the refrigerator to hopefully stop the leaking that is damaging our hardwood floor. If I was independently wealthy, I would throw them all away; but Im not. We made what we thought was a wise investment that would last us through retirement. Im sure we will end up replacing all at some point when Ive lost all my patience. If I do a Pinterest, it would be labeled Stay away from Viking far, far away. There are much better, more reliable, less expensive products. Viking beauty is only skin deep.

We got a Viking Refrigerator three months ago. The freezer stopped working, we called the service and the lady who talked to me on the phone was rude. They sent someone and he found that the fan was broke. They came again last week, they ordered a new fan and they put it in. The fan was working, but the problem was not solved. The problem was the freezer temperature was 14 degrees higher than preset. And the refrigerator part, the upper shelf temperature was 10 degrees below the preset, so all the yogurt are frozen. I called them again and they will send another company to fix it. Its an expensive piece we paid for. Its not even as good as the cheap refrigerator we bought from Fensa. I suggest quality control.

The store I went to had the Viking refrigerator at 18 months with no interest. But I had a horrible experience. They had a typical salesman who was just selling a product. But Im not very happy with the refrigerator. The door was bent a little and when I called the store for the warranty, they told me that I had to call Viking myself. A store should have a department to take care of the warranty for the product and not me calling 200 people to the warranty service. It was difficult. And the process that Viking had with their warranty made me feel like they didnt care about their customers. I called several times and they didnt know which companies in my area could take care of my appliance and they asked me to call the companies. I called several but they said they didnt work for Viking warranty. There was a lack of communication. If I’m a company and a customer that buys stuff in San Diego, Id know exactly which to call. It took several calls for me to get what I wanted. I had to wait for a company to come from LA, I live in San Diego, to come to my house to do my repairs. The tech showed up two weeks later. ut because he said there wasnt anything wrong with it, I had to fix the fridge myself. I work in the maintenance division.I will not buy another Viking in my life as I would have paid something cheaper with the same quality. I could have bought a GE or an Electrolux and I would have gotten the same result or better. Availability of parts is better too. I’m a reasonable person. If you spend about $14,000 on an appliance, they should treat you better. Right now, I try to order parts for my refrigerator because parts are not available. The appliance model number is also not in the system yet.

My husband and I completed our renovations in May 2018. We have had issues with the microwave drawer and the oven since we finished our kitchen. The panels were defected on both and we had to set up at least 4/5 appointments with the authorized service provider until the matters were remedied. Fast forward to January 2019 - the oven does not work above 300 degrees. I was advised by Viking that service can schedule an appointment to look at the oven in mid February!!! After several calls, we were scheduled for service today. When nobody arrived - we were advised that Viking canceled the appointment 3 days ago, never advising us of the change. Not only does the product fail to meet its reputation, the customer service at Viking is reason alone never to buy another Viking product.

There have still been some installation problems, but we’re working on it. The range does not sit all the way in because the gas hookup isn’t compatible with a spec home. So theres a three-inch gap between the range and the wall. We were told by Nebraska Furniture Mart, which is where we bought the range, that we needed to get an L joint to connect it and push it further back. But they havent been able to do that. Theyve given us absolutely no guidance in what to do about it now. Changing it from a connector that comes up through the floor is simply not an option. According to our builder, its not usual to put the gas line through the floor. It’s usual to put it through the wall because ranges normally have a dead space at the bottom. Apparently, Viking does not. It’s not my first Viking, so I dont know why it never happened before. Nebraska Furniture Mart has been zero help. So we’re working with our builder to see what we can do. The range is not flushed against the wall. So when the automatic fan comes on, it vibrates like crazy. We’ve built several houses and we’ve had Viking range before. We like it and it’s a good range. We’ve never had any problems with the actual functioning of the range.

This is my second review of the Viking 36-inch all refrigerator. Ice formed inside the unit and this interfered with the fan. Water collected on shelves and under refrigerator. The first unit was repaired a number of times. Viking then replaced it with a new refrigerator. Same problems. We insisted that Viking refund money to the dealer and we now have a Sub Zero. Finally, after almost six months, we have a refrigerator that works. While the interior design of the Viking is better, their engineering is poor. I went to the store and looked at all the different refrigerator models. I was doing a kitchen remodel and I was going for a certain kind of look. I was looking at the GE Café and the KitchenAid that had the kinda industrial handles. I didn’t find Viking Refrigerators until my second or third trip. The thing that basically made me go to the Viking was that it had the handles that match my GE Café double oven. It looks very similar. Also, I was going back and forth between the French door and the side by side. But when I finally decided on the French door, and that was a whole process, the thing that drove me away from the GE and the KitchenAid was the inside design. I liked Vikings inside design the best. Some of the situations on the others were, when the door was open, you couldn’t open the vegetable drawer all the way unless you really, really open the door wide. Sometimes, the French door even blocks the drawers from opening. Another issue was that a lot of times, the shelves had an enter too at the back so things would fall down the back. I didn’t like the fact that it’s like if I put something on the shelf and if it’s small enough, it’s gonna end up falling down at the back of the refrigerator and I really didn’t want that hassle. But the bottom line is I like the look. The quality in terms of not having maintenance issues was good.

The refrigerator door fell on my wife out of nowhere when she opened it. But Viking they did an exceptional job in making sure that my wife was okay and that we received a new unit. We couldn’t be happier with their response. I assume it was because of the liability and the potential for an injury. They also probably wanted to prevent that from ever happening again. Viking said it has apparently never happened before but that can happen with any product. Still, we’re happy with the product, its looks and its performance. We’ve owned the Viking refrigerator for some time now, along with the oven, the microwave and the dishwasher. We have the whole Viking outfit. My wife likes cooking so we wanted to buy a professional-level range. We got one from Viking Range and it has an oven and convection and it heated up very fast to the temperature that I set up when broiling. But when I tried to do baking and set up the temperature to 300 it never heated up to 300. I thought there were some ignition issues so I tried for a couple of times and sometimes it worked but sometimes it didn’t. I planned on trying more times to see exactly what the issues were. I also called them before to tell them what the issues were and they said they couldn’t help unless I register my product so I did. And when I called them back I waited for around five minutes but they were busy and I couldn’t get an answer so I just hung up and stopped trying. The call didn’t go to voicemail as well but they were nice during the conversation with them. Overall, it was good. My wife cooks all the time using it and I notice that the power is really strong. The construction manager who helped us through the renovation recommended Viking and I was familiar with the company itself. As a profession, I have dealt with them professionally for hotels and restaurants. I knew the brand and the quality has been very good. However, I have issues with the dishwasher because it takes two hours to do what a normal one does. Also, the keyboard is not customer-friendly. There are a lot of buttons to push and usually, it takes a while for it to get to the program it needs to be washed. On the other hand, I love the refrigerator, oven and microwave. I wish the ice maker is larger but everything I have is good and I just have to master using the dish machine. The Viking dealer did a great job. I wanted to share a review of my Viking range because it was such a big investment. We purchased a gas sealed burner VGSC5304BBS range back in the fall of 2011. My wife loves to cook and she thought a Viking would last forever. She patiently waited over 10 years to buy her dream stove. Weve had nothing but problems with both the broiler and the bottom burners. Both burners have required constant repairs and the broiler still wont light on the convection setting. Weve had to replace the bottom oven pan because it had a broken weld and we replaced the convection fan cover because it was rubbing the fan.The stove looks nice and it definitely gives the impression of quality but its reliability is horrible. I filed a claim with the BBB but Viking refused to help me. Save your money and buy a different brand... any other brand. Also, it has been recalled twice for safety problems. Terrible investment at over $6k.

Professional Refrigerator/freezer model #VCFF236SS002 - Purchased an existing home with barely-used 2012 Viking appliances. Within a week neither refrigerator nor freezer were holding temperatures. The shelves in freezer were also easily off-track. Took 3 days to reach Viking Corporation since it does not take calls on weekends or holidays, nor after 5pm ET. Once connected to Viking Corp service rep I learned that the appliance is under warranty for 30 more days. But the approved service provider/distributor for the state of WI is in IL, and the first available diagnostic appointment was one week out. The company rep at LV Distributors in IL gave a 50-50 chance that the service tech would be able to repair the refrigerator on the first visit, and could not estimate the time it would take to obtain necessary parts, nor when a tech would return for 2nd time. Calls to local high end appliance sellers & Viking owners about alternative service providers were fruitless. Reading Consumer Reports and other posts from owners in same circumstance makes it clear that this $3600 appliance is a bad choice if one wants a reliable, sturdy appliance.

We were looking for a new kitchen. We went and looked at a lot of the upper-level kitchen appliances. We also looked at a number of different styles and brands, and we decided we really liked the Viking oven with the French doors. That’s where we based our whole purchase on. We took the next step that’s why we went with everything else.I love my Viking refrigerator and Viking oven. We cook a lot of fish and we also have the steamer microwave. That was another reason for our purchase as well. We like that. Everything’s been great. The only thing we’re not crazy about is the dishwasher. We’ve had it for over a year and the red light that shines from the bottom that lets you know that it’s running is out.It is also not easy to load. Theres not enough room on the top rack to load anything. If you have the large Tervis glasses, you can’t go wash it in the dishwasher because it’s not tall enough. The only place you can actually put anything tall is on the outside just where it is a little bit lower because that little rack with the silverware tray on the top really obstructs it. We’ve removed the rack but the framing for it is still there. It’s the design of it, unfortunately. Another issue that we have that continues to pop up is the cooktop. It has these brackets that hold it in place and you screw them in. It keeps loosening up and the whole cooktop slides around. The contractor sent somebody out and they tightened it back up, but it’s definitely not good. It just seems to loosen up.

It works like a champ, so were really tickled with it.The Vikings dealer was wonderful. Everybody was very knowledgeable, and they understood our specific constraints. We got the house set up then realized you also buy appliances for the way they might sound. In fact, we don’t have a Viking refrigerator anymore. It was so loud that I didnt care what I ended up with but I was not going to keep it. My wife liked the look so much that she didnt wanna give up the refrigerator. We had even built kitchen cabinets to fit everything because it needs to fit the Viking refrigerator. But it was way too loud. And lots of people agreed. The oven also makes a lot of noise when it’s cooling but it really doesn’t bother me because it will cool down. We know that I don’t have to live with it 24/7. But the refrigerator, when that compressor was on and it was on for most of the time, was very loud and annoying. I don’t think it was defective though. I think that’s the way they make it. The main sound that we were hearing was the sound of a fan that comes on in the freezer, blowing and cooling the refrigerator. I spent hours going back and forth with Pacific Sales, asking what was wrong. They sent people out to the house and tried to repair it to see if that was the problem. They even put another compressor in it. I was beginning to think every high-end refrigerator is gonna make noise like that because they put the compressors up on the top. On the old refrigerator that we had, a Samsung, just the kind you buy at the Home Depot, the compressor is down on the base of the unit and back so whatever noise it made was muted by the wall and the refrigerator itself. But when I went over to the Wolf store, I couldnt believe I couldnt hear anything. I ended up buying the Wolf Sub-Zero refrigerator and we love it. It’s got two compressors, one for the refrigerator and one for the freezer. The refrigerator is very quiet. So someone needs to fix the Viking refrigerator.

I have had a Series 3 gas range for less than 2 years & have had nothing but problems with the oven. When I first got it, it sounded like it was sucking air. The temp is always 25-50 degrees lower than the temp dial indicated. I ran the self-clean cycle twice & both times the door wouldnt unlock after the oven cooled down. I have had parts replaced multiple times. Most recently the main control panel was replaced so I figured all would work fine but it is worse than before. Now the oven lights, the fan comes on, the light to indicate the clean cycle is finished comes on (I wasnt running a clean cycle), the fan turns off & the oven shuts off so now I have no functioning oven at all. When I called for service it would take at least 10 days for the tech to come out... Guess they only have 1 service guy. Finally heard from Viking who said they will replace my range but the replacement range is a downgrade (does not have the self-clean feature). That is not acceptable so theyll give me store credit. The dealer has nothing available in black, w/ self-clean option in the same price range as the Viking. So if I get a different brand & dont use all of the store credit, I forfeit the unused amount. That is not acceptable. The dealer has an I dont care attitude.I have told both the dealer & Viking that at this point I will only be happy with a refund. Talked to Lindy at Viking on 10/24 & had no response w/in 24 hours so called again on 10/26. Got the impression she had done nothing about my request. She told me shed call me on 10/27 in the morning but I have had no call back. I called Viking & was told a VP has to review and they will get back to me hopefully within the hour or tomorrow morning. Unbelievable that a company with their reputation would be so difficult to work with. Their product stinks! Their response time stinks! Their attitude stinks! I will never recommend Viking to anybody.

I purchased a refrigerator, a stove, wine cooler and vent hood from Viking. The refrigerators quality is great. It looks good and it works well. But we had a cosmetic issue with it about its packaging. I guess it’s from the factory like somebody had scoured through the packaging to get the handles attached. They basically cut the steel when they did so it got scour marks on the steel. I’ve already filed a warranty claim and somebody contacted me. They were supposed to schedule a time to come out but I never heard from them again. The last time I did was eight weeks ago and I just remembered recently that it never got done. When I was speaking with the team at Viking Refrigerators, the experience is generally pretty good. But it was a little frustrating that I had to go separately to register the warranty then come back to them to do it rather than staying to do it with them right then and there. It should have been a little bit easier. But other than that, the experience with talking with them about the problem seemed fine. But they havent followed up with the local contractor. I got a call from Viking shortly after being contacted by the local person asking me if the contractor finished it which I told them that they have not. Then they said to check back in with them but I don’t think anyone has. Other than that, I find it interesting that they dont have French door built-in refrigerator on the larger sizes. We got their 42-inch size and Viking doesn’t offer a French door refrigerator which we would’ve liked. But at the end of the day, the cost difference to go for a Wolf or Subzero ‘cause they have that as an option on a built-in is not worth it. And I will still recommend Viking.

I bought my home 2 1/2 yrs ago with a really beautiful kitchen. All appliances are Viking and the agent kept telling me they are the best products on the market. We have the two drawer pull out dishwashers. From the time we bought the house they do not clean anything properly. I have had technicians out various times, some telling us that cascade powder doesnt work and we must use gel capsules. Even if we wash the dishes thoroughly before they dont come out clean. I need them to work as they match everything in my kitchen. My viking microwave also doesnt work properly so I just use it to reheat. This house was remodelled around 5 yrs ago and from the time we moved in it was terrible. Who needs to clean dishes thoroughly before putting them in the dishwasher to find them still marked when you take them out. My daughter has the same crockery set and has a cheap dishwasher and hers come out spotless. Please someone help me as I need everything to match in my kitchen. Viking service are a waste of time and money. Thanks.

We owned a Viking Range years ago, and this is our second one. We purchased our first Viking from Fergusons and they had to take the stove back because somebody on the assembly line didn’t put the installation which was supposed to be there. The Viking team had to totally remove the stove and bring us a different one, and that was the first and only negative experience that we had. Then we moved to Arizona and when we got there, we had a stove top, so we ended up selling the stove. When we moved back to Atlanta, we wanted to get another stove, and my wife wanted to buy a Wolf. She already ordered the Wolf but I canceled the order because the Wolf stove look was like four little red dots and didn’t have any character or personality on the front of it. Its performance may have been comparable or even better than the Viking but I didn’t like its bland look, so I decided to get another Viking. The people that delivered it this year were very professional. They bolted it down the way they were supposed to and they took their time and did everything right. I don’t remember them bolting down the first one that we got. I just remember them sliding it in and they never put that secure bracket on the back, which they did this time. That safety bracket was supposed to be there because that’s a very heavy stove that may fall over. I love the quality as well as the performance and style of the Viking range. It has a high-end, tough look to it and high-intensity burners. It’s the best stove sold in the market and it’s worth the money.

We were at Best Buy looking at a different refrigerator brand and there was a wonderful Viking refrigerator on sale there because it was being discontinued. We ended up buying it and it’s been an outstanding product. I like that it’s huge compared to any that I’ve had in the past. I don’t currently have the Viking range but I had one in Chicago, and that is another reason why we looked at Viking. However, I’ve had some problems with the ice-maker so we had some service going recently. Customer service had to order some parts for me so it’s not fixed yet. But overall it’s a wonderful product if you’re able to afford it.

We received our range and it was installed in our home. Everything worked fine for a day. Then, the oven stopped working. We called for a service technician to come out. They came out, did some adjustments, and nothing worked. He couldnt get it to fix so he said that we got to order new parts. I told him that it is a brand-new range and I asked why we need to order brand-new parts. So, it arrived faultily. The parts were back-ordered for probably a month. We spoke to our regional representative, trying to figure out what the holdup was. Of course, it was blamed on COVID and I understood that. Then the parts came and the service technician installed them. Everything was working when he was here. He left that evening. I went to make dinner and put a chicken in. An hour later, the oven was lukewarm. It didnt maintain its flame. The next morning, before I called them, I thought to see what was going on. It would go through its clicking cycle to ignite. It’s a liquid propane system. And we ordered the correct range. That morning, it went through its cooking cycle like it always does and didnt light. We tried it again and then a fireball came out the bottom of it. I called the technician and told them what happened. I also called our regional representative and told her what happened. The technician was busy and couldnt come out ‘til the next week. Then he came back out and looked at it. He called the Viking service line and went through all of the suggestions that they made. He could get the small oven to light, but could not get the bigger side to light, and now has ordered another part. I think its the igniter or something like that is not working. I just got a phone call this morning that were on the schedule two weeks from now to get it repaired. Right now, I’m not very happy. We can use the top, but we cant do anything in the oven. Its pretty frustrating, especially since this is supposed to be top-of-the-line. So, basically, we have a brand-new piece of metal sitting in our kitchen that we cant use to its full extent. The most frustrating thing is were not getting any discount or benefit. We tell our representatives whats going on. We even said that we wanted another one because what if something happens to this one again? I dont know why that wasnt offered, again, ‘cause its a brand-new thing and its faulty when it arrived. I understand its a big piece. Its not like something that I brought home in a bag. It involved shipping and people installing it. But were kind of stuck as a consumer. Our technician is great. Theyre highly recommended. It’s no fault of them. Its the product and these arent cheap. Essentially this thing is the price of a car.

We purchased the DMOC in 2007 (no longer available). Beginning in 2009 the problems began. First, a fuse. Then the wiring circuit was bad, followed by the door switch which was faulty.. was repaired. Then replaced a fuse again (same one), and it quit again a week ago. We called the Viking Southwest President and spoke with him. Unsympathetic, unapologetic, he informed me that microwaves only have an anticipated lifespan of 6.5 to 7.5 years - the 10 that we have read about! He stated he would get the record of repairs from their authorized service company (whom we did use!) and he would get back us. No call back. We called again and left a message 4 days after our initial conversation. No call back. Today, a new convection microhood from the competition was installed!

I bought 3 Viking appliances for $30,000. Big mistake! I have been so disappointed with them & wished I had read these comments before I purchased these expensive junk appliances. The fridge is only 5 years old and has leaked 3 times which resulted in 3 service calls with 1,000$ in repairs without warranty. Third time leaking & repairman said the motor is shut, the refrigerator coolant is low & thered ice buildup etc... Its a 3500 fix & I have no warranty. What a waste of money and everyones time. So pissed off since the fridge is built into our cabinetry. Fridge is turned off. Power off. Cant use it at all now cause it leaks. Poor landfill with all these damaged appliances. What a shame. Never again!

Had Viking stove top for 3 years without any problems. One day spilled about 3 tablespoons of water over a flame adjuster knob which somehow shorted the wiring inside!!! Then it seems in the entire Northwest suburbs of Chicago, there is only ONE Viking authorized repair service. So you guessed it... they charge astronomical prices. Went to a highly peer-rated appliance repair service that was a lot less costly. They stated Viking is slow as snails in giving up replacement parts unless you work through their authorized repair shops. Sure enough, its been almost 2 months without parts shipped. My battle with my Viking product began 8 yrs ago. We bought a new with new appliances. All Viking. Living 8 yrs with this refrigerator has been like living in the 1800s. We have had our ice maker break 3 times. Hinges break. But the biggest problem is the food staying fresh. Mainly because the only choice in cooling for this refrigerator is Lukewarm and rotten food or your eggs yogurt and all food frozen. I am writing this once again because I own a very expensive refrigerator and without and help this company has not recalled this lemon of a product. The frustration level is so bad I had to take to Facebook last time I sought out help for this problem. I then made friends with people in Vancouver Colorado and Brazil all whom had the same problems and the company took back their refrigerator. They sent me repair man and blocked me from their social media. But I still continue to have Massive problems with this refrigerator.Ice maker once again broken. Broken shelving and cooling problems begin to plague me once again. Imagine your danger comes home from college has surgery before the holidays and you take out the large tub of yogurt frozen solid. You like to drink cranberry juice frozen solid. Take something off a different shelf moldy. It is almost impossible to deal so I go buy a garage refrigerator to try to survive the holidays. I will never purchase a Viking product again and when Im in store I do walk up to complete strangers and tell them to run from this product. It saddens me because I would love to support a company made in the USA. I just would like a company to stand by this and make good.

Viking appliance are beautiful to look at, however, the quality of them, not so much. I bought a suite of Viking products in 2009 (Stove, Refrigerator, Hood, Convection Microwave, Dishwasher) and have had consistent problems with them since day one. The range being the worst. Its an all-gas 30 model. The surface burners on the range work beautifully. They have gotten me through holiday and entertainment cooking when the oven would stop working. It seem that the oven has a known issue caused by cooking at high temperatures (400 degrees) for a period of time. Not only does the knob control area get so hot that you need an oven mitt to touch them it also, over time, burns out the circuitry that is behind those knobs, caused by condensation and/or heat. The last incident was the icing on the cake when the oven wouldnt shut off. I had to turn the oven off at the breaker -- a safety issue no doubt. The circuitry is clearly fried again from cooking a chicken in the oven at 425. (The same faulty circuit board was replaced exactly one year ago.) Viking has told me before that the molding needs to be replaced, which it was. No change in heat coming out. The door shuts fine and solid from what I can tell. A recall was done on the stove that supposedly corrects the oven from turning on by itself. I sense that wasnt fixed because I couldnt get the oven to turn off the last time I had an issue. In a recent email correspondence with Viking, a parts tech said that a fan needs to be repaired or installed under the range-top area where the circuitry is housed. What?! There is no fan and whos paying for that work-around. (Honestly I dont think he knew what he was talking about. This is Viking (Middleby) customer service, mind you.) I dont use my oven that much as Im usually grilling. I probably use it 10-15 times per year and rely on a larger Breville toaster oven to roast/bake smaller things for the two of us. (That appliance has saved me many times and is worth every penny and has lasted well beyond the life of the Viking stove, at a fraction of the price.)Ive given up on Viking, as other appliances in this suite have been problematic just as much. I stopped using the dishwasher years ago. Thats a saga unto itself. Sometimes it works, sometime it doesnt You never know. You get a light show on the control panel telling you why it failed cleaning. My point here is that Viking Appliances needs to be held accountable for the quality of their products. Supposedly they are premier appliances that should be built to last. The Consumer Safety Commission needs to be aware as well, especially with regard to safety concerns with the range. I cant in good faith recommend buying a product from this company. Again, they look great but they just dont hold up. I will buy American again but not them!!

Our Viking range is a powerful, nice piece of engineering. It works. Its really sturdy and it looks good in the space, too. I like that its not super digital and its more analog because that crap breaks all the time. The only thing that we weren’t totally sure about was when you turn the oven off, theres like a fan that gets the heat out, and it will continue to kick on and off. Viking is a great brand and has a good reputation. My parents had a Viking range when I was a kid and we just redo our kitchen so we got our own Viking range for its price and quality. We looked at discount places and priced out Viking ranges. We bought a model from last year and we like its BTU for the burners. The overall quality is good and we love it. Our favorite feature is the burners and we have five burners now that we’ve actually all been able to use.The sales guy at the Viking dealer was great and did no pressure. He has very high professionalism and knowledge for the product. He totally helped us out and then we looked and told him that we would look somewhere else and get another quote. It was no problem with him so we went and looked at another Viking range somewhere else. We realized that what we first saw was the one that we should have bought all along so we went right back and got it. Were very happy with our Viking range and it’s simply one of those things we’re going to have for a very long time.

The last one I had was a Viking Range. We had it for 18 years and it finally kept locking and wouldnt open so we couldnt keep it because it was really a nightmare. The company that sold me the oven at the store were responsive but they said they didnt service them. They gave me the numbers of some Viking dealers and nobody called me back. I kept contacting Viking directly and it took a long time. Finally I had to call the dealer back and say, “Look, you gotta help me here.” And they did. They found me somebody to service within the area. It was great but Viking itself is hard to access. They need to be more user-friendly. Getting treatment for the one that was broken and wouldn’t open was impossible. We got a new one because it was the only thing that fit into the space that we have on short notice because I was giving a party for about a hundred people. However, I wanted something that was easier to clean and the stove top is awkward to clean. Im getting to the point where I care less about aesthetics anymore but convenience.

Viking Ranges is a name that speaks for itself. Everything I’ve ever heard has always been good. We went with them because of the reputation and we were dealing with the warehouse that had one Viking stove that was the right size and had the right looks of it. However, there were a lot of issues. One of the burners didn’t work and the oven would turn itself off after I turned it on. It also wouldn’t maintain the heat. It would be cold in the front and hot in the back. We had a company come in at first, but they kinda oversold themselves and they didn’t know what to do. They put it back together and said they couldn’t fix it. Another fellow from a different company came and we were super pleased with him. He was very professional and he knew his stuff. He seized up what was wrong. Our dilemma was we don’t have a gas line, so we had to go with propane and we bought a stove that was not propane. They had to alter it. The first company thought it was just a simple fix, but it wasn’t. They had to adjust all the frames. The second guy fixed it and ordered the parts, although it took forever to get the parts. But he consistently called us and said he was working on it. They were supposed to be coming and it did. He called, came, and fixed it. However, it was a new stove, so I don’t understand why it has so many things wrong with it. Everything’s working fine and it’s good now. It maintains temperature. I made some chocolate cookie chips and they came out great. On the bottom or on the top, they were perfect. It’s a wonderful stove, but I’m a little apprehensive to recommend it because of the start-up problems we had. It definitely was a problem when we got it and it was not lightweight. You don’t wanna be taking things in and out because it is a big stove, it is a double oven.

So, after years of AGONY, we finally purchased a new built-in refrigerator! Yesterday, our VIKING 48 inch built-in refrigerator was hauled away, and a new KitchenAid built-in was installed. Its sooo cold inside! Our food hasnt been refrigerated this well for years!NOTE TO REALTORS: STOP telling people that Viking Kitchens are the best! You are doing everyone a big dis-service. What do you know about appliance quality? You only know that Viking looks good. Our Viking Fridge costs $9,999. Its beautiful on the outside, but for that amount of money, I also expect it to keep the food cold, and it cannot do that.NOTE TO CONSUMERS: If a realtor tries to sell you a house with an All-Viking Kitchen, tell her your offer to purchase the house is contingent on the sellers replacing all of the appliances with another brand! That should get the realtors attention.A Viking refrigerator is like a Ferrari car. It looks beautiful, and your neighbors will drool over it every time they visit. But only you and your mechanic know the sad truth: Your Viking Refrigerator and your Ferrari need major servicing every 6 months to keep them running. You have to keep a Sears Kenmore refrigerator in the garage so that when your Viking breaks, you dont lose $1000 of food. You have a Toyota Corolla in the garage so that every time your Ferrari breaks, you can still get to work.If you are independently wealthy, and you have a housekeeper who can be at home every time the Viking repairman comes to visit, then buy Viking. But if you must take time off from work to stay home and wait for the repairman, keep in mind you will miss 3-4 days of work per year.Summary: Viking Refrigerators are very expensive to buy ($9,999) and even more expensive to maintain. The first two years, while its still under warranty, youll say to yourself, Whew, Im glad it broke under warranty! and then the warranty ends and it keeps breaking and keeps breaking, and then you think, How did I get into this mess? Small repairs are $300-$500. Major repairs are $1500 to $2000.

I didn’t get my Viking range until March and a couple of months later, my kitchen light was always on. I realized the door wasnt closing properly, and so I called the person I bought it from and they said that within the first year, I have to go through a a service person. The tech came and had it fixed but I had to wait six weeks. Also, one of the four burners and the middle burner were not working, and the tech must have ordered parts for that too because he came to fix those. Theyre all resolved now and I’m happy that it’s working. I love the cooking quality level of the burners. We’re personally having a struggle ‘cause I need to get the range installed with a hood to vent it properly because it sets off my fire alarm. The person who installed said that I cannot use the clean setting ‘cause it would be too hot. I cleaned it out by hand, and then the person who came to fix it said that its not true. Within 20 minutes of using the clean setting, it set off my fire alarm again, even with a cover. There’s something about using it that it can’t do that. So, it’s on my to-do list to look into buying a hood. Otherwise, I love my Viking range.

I was very familiar with The Viking Commercial Ranges and when I remodeled my kitchen I decided to go with the Viking and expected to get same quality product. I have owned it now for 3 years and been sorry about my decision ever since. The oven doesnt have a temperature display and you never know what the temperature is. The controls are mechanical and connected to a electronically controlled board that fails after short use. The oven does not retain temperature and takes extremely long time to heat up. The cooking time is much too complicated for normal use and even the clock and timer are no simple task. To top it all, it is price at double the price of a Kitchenaid or a GE that do a much better job. I would stay away from Viking, save some money the agony.

Ive had two repair guys out, one for the beverage center and one for the cooktop. They were both very lovely. I ran into a warranty issue with the beverage center though and that was a nightmare. I just gave up and paid for it. It wasnt expensive, but it was a waste of time. Other than that, Im happy with everything.

The French door refrigerator we bought in 2017 has been a disappointment, After 1 1/2 years, the freezer door handle literally fell off. Viking denied it was a defect and I had to pay. Got the wrong replacement water filter and they wont exchange. Customer service sucks! Pay the extra and get Sub-Zero.

We had a tricky experience with Viking and we are still hoping for help. The builder, whom we bought the home from, selected Viking appliances. It is a brand new beautiful home but our refrigerator just freezes all the food. It is not consistently cooling in a way that a high-quality refrigerator should. It is brand new so we are miserable and it has been a terrible experience. The refrigerator is vital because we had to throw out groceries through the holidays. We’ve lost food and have lost much money. On the other hand, the range is fine but it’s not something I can really grieve about. The Viking dealer gave us a number for a local person to come look at it. The first person never called us back so we called Viking back. They assigned a second person and the second person came out and told us that they do not know what was wrong. He also told us that Viking told them that they should counsel customers to keep all the things to the front of the refrigerator. It was ridiculous. It was so bad and negative and we were really frustrated because we did not even know. We are not difficult customers on any level and so we’re so sad because this is the first time we bought a brand new home with new appliances and we have not been able to get a resolution. I have been calling Viking probably under 10 times and I’ve called the local repair people a few times as well but nobody came up with a solution. Viking told us to listen to whatever the repair people say. Also, to wait and do it and see what happens. No one really seems to care. We got a lemon and Viking isn’t owning up to it yet. We’re just sitting, waiting, and throwing away food that it’s horrible.

I like my Viking Range very much. I like the design and the ruggedness, and just the reputation they have. My favorite feature of my range is the six-burner top. I had one service call under warranty on it and it was a very simple and easy fix. If I ever move, Ill buy another one.

We just did a full-house renovation and I bought three refrigerators - a Viking and two Sub-Zeros. We bought through Ferguson. The saleslady was great and was good at advising but I was pretty clear on what I wanted and I also went with a decorator. I like the temperature management and the humidity drawers of the Viking and the only issue was if they had more storage containers at the top for the condiments, that would be great. But, otherwise, everything’s great and Im happy with it.

We were in the middle of a remodel and after getting feedback from friends who have a Viking range, we ordered and paid for a unit in November of last year. They took the order in and had it delivered in March, but we had a little trouble with the people we bought it from because they sent us a propane range and they had to reorder a natural gas model. Other than that, once I was able to use the range, I love it. I like its performance, look and durability. It works great and the temperature is on point.

I find the Viking refrigerator a steal of a deal. The quality of the refrigerator I received is good. I like its overall look, its aesthetics. The product was still under warranty and I tried to have it serviced because I was having an issue with it. It kept freezing up and then it would have to be defrosted. The service guy that they sent out said it was of a bad design and something that those refrigerators were known for. About a year, they had a bunch of them and it took a while to catch all of them. However, everything got fixed. The customer service has been fine too.
