My Viking Refrigerator has been great. I got it from Best Buy and Ive had it for several months now. I like its size and capacity. I called Viking weeks ago to tell them that my fridge is making a noise. They referred me to a local dealer and I left a message but they never called me back. Other than that, my experience has been excellent and I would recommend this appliance.

We got a stove and some other appliances. The stove, we had issue with. Its a gas stove. The proper gas nozzle apertures were requested when we ordered it but they were not sent. And there were some issues between our local dealer getting that correct nozzle. That took time. And during the installation, the installers broke a piece of the stove or the oven. And it took two times to get the correct part. They got it the first time and they installed it, and the local people who were our installers and our repairer as well, said, “This isnt right.” So it went back to Viking. We talked to somebody. Got it right. And same thing with those nozzles. It wasnt done correct the first time. I dont know where that issue lies, if it was with our local person not being able to articulate what was properly needed, or Viking not understanding or sending the wrong piece altogether. We chose Viking for several reasons. The aesthetics of it, how it looks, the way it would fit into our kitchen, the design, and its reliability, that it was a very good brand. I like how, when we open the doors, they feel substantial. Most refrigerator and freezer doors, you open them, they feel lightweight and not put together well. The Viking, when you open it up, that door is heavy. Its not heavy like I cant open it. But it feels very substantial, that I have something there that would hold up and done well.

Starting immediately after we had the stove installed, the burners have been difficult to light, often not lighting at all until we turned them off, let the gas dissipate and started again. Sometimes lighting them would take 5 or six cycles of this routine.

After reading these complaints, I feel really foolish being included in this massive collection of consumers who have purchased these products that perform so poorly. No one should ever have to make this error again. Stove, dishwasher, and range aggravate me on a daily basis. My only hope is a class action lawsuit for deceitful business practice that will redeem this unfairness.

We just had our nice kitchen remodeled beautifully so, we wanted to get a nice refrigerator. Ive seen Viking refrigerators in different rental properties weve been in and also, some friends have had it. Weve always had different brands like Westinghouse and KitchenAid and we thought we wanted to step it up a little. We got a Viking and I love it. It looks very nice and the size is beautiful. Weve never had a freezer on the bottom and a double door before. Also, we never had an ice maker before so its very exciting. Viking is a beautiful product and Im very happy with it. I would definitely buy them again.

Viking is one of the reputable refrigerator brands. I wanted an all-refrigerator, which some of the other competitors also had but I liked the aesthetics and the model that Viking had. We can utilize the refrigerators built-in feature with the counter depths. Overall, my experience was very good and I am very pleased with Viking.

I bought my Viking refrigerator about two months ago. We remodeled our kitchen and I just put it in about three weeks ago. I haven’t had good luck with it so far. The door doesnt close and they haven’t fixed it yet since I bought it. They came out and looked at it and they said they had to order parts, and they said they’ll get back to me in a week or two. I was on hold for over six hours one day, trying to get a hold of them. Once we got through, there were a lot of problems. We had to do a lot of it online and then they wanted pictures of the serial number ‘cause they didn’t believe us. Its been a terrible experience.

We appreciate the quality of the brand. The 7 series in particular had a lot of the newer features that could be useful, particularly in how we cook. Were really enjoying it. Its very high quality. We really like the broiler. We really appreciate that. We also like the setup with some of the lower BTU range areas. Its been great. We also like the high simmer approach on the top left. So you can go right from high straight into a really controlled simmer. The Viking dealer was great. We use Plesser’s in Babylon. They had great background and nice expertise. They could walk us through the features. They were incredibly helpful and worked with us on all different pricing.

The Viking refrigerator came with my newly built home three months ago, but its upsetting that the ice maker doesnt work and it has never worked since day one. The technician came out to see what the problem was and they supposedly ordered a new ice maker. Although I registered all of my equipment, I still havent gotten a replacement for the ice maker and they claimed that its not gonna be here till the end of August. But its a brand new appliance and I would like Viking to fix it.

I had always wanted a Viking range and so when I started looking at their stove and range, we just renovated our house and we had to get everything new. So we figured we would get the whole bundle from Viking. So far, so good. We bought our Viking refrigerator through a dealer called AJ Madison and our experience was fine. We dealt with it over the phone, and the rep answered a few questions for me over the phone. We’ve only had our Viking refrigerator for about a month but we like it. It works, and it gets my beer cold.

13 years ago, when we built our house, we bought a Viking refrigerator. About two years ago, we put $1100 into it because it quit working. The guy said it was better than new then about three months ago the refrigerator door fell off. They gave us a whole new one so now I have a new Viking Refrigerator. However, I dont like it as well as my old one because I dont think it holds as much. And already, the plastic is cracked in one of the drawers and I dont know how it happened. We had that problem with the old one, but not this soon. The drawer in the new unit is not extra full, it goes in by itself, and you just give it a little shove and it slides in. I like that feature and its better for me. But my other one have more of a tall shelf on one side so taller things would fit like a wine bottle say and its pretty. Their reps are very nice and they were very good about getting us a new refrigerator. When our refrigerator door fell off, luckily it only grazed my husband. It hit him on the shoulder but he was walking away from it. But it did damage my covered and wood floor. Theres also a big gouge out of my cabinet doors which Ive had somebody come to look at and theres no way that it can be fixed. It has to be replaced. Some of the boards on the floor have to be replaced too which means that they have to redo my whole floor because its an open hardwood floor. In their email to us, Viking said that they wanted our homeowners to do it. I checked with my homeowners and found that its going to raise my insurance. We have a $1500 deductible. So Im in the process of getting bids to send to Viking. Im not happy about that part of it and if it had hurt my husband worse, theyd have a lawsuit on their hands. Also, I feel that we werent notified of this problem with the Viking and were lucky there wasnt any grandkids here.

I would not recommend buying this refrigerator. After spending $4,000.00 on this refrigerator, we have waited 4 days for customer service to assist with warranty and have now had to contact an outside agency. After 2 hours of attempting repair and figuring codes we still have a non working Viking refrigerator. I have never had an issue with a cooling fan (per code) and have paid less than half of this money for other refrigerators. Appliance repair state this refrigerator is made by too many different companies and is very difficult to fix. I hope Viking stands behind its product and fixes this refrigerator or sends us a new one.

I have owned my Viking oven for 13 years. I purchased the oven because of the Viking name and quality. Unfortunately, I have had 3 costly repairs and I am now faced with a fourth repair after a self-cleaning cycle broke the oven lock. The trouble is compounded by the fact that I cannot finding a repair person in the area willing to help. Like many of the reviews here, our Viking French Door fridge was a lemon and so is the new one that showed up after 6 months of service calls and spoiled food. I have now heard from a service person and the appliance delivery men that I am not alone in my issues, which are detailed by many other reviews here. I have wasted 16+ hours of my life talking to Viking and waiting for service calls. Not to mention the $100s of lost due to spoiled food from the freezing in the back of the fridge. The fact that ice spills out onto the floor every time I open the freezer is a design flaw I could have lived with, but this is unacceptable. Built my entire kitchen around this fridge and now I need to figure out how to replace it. Do yourself a favor - the reviews are true - dont buy this fridge. Viking knows its refrigerator is defective, but keep selling it.

We were shopping around and looked at Viking. We looked at the outside and the description on the panel but didnt do research. We also compared and heard about the Viking reputation. We thought that Viking was a high-quality product so we bought the refrigerator and dishwasher. Surprisingly, there were minor problems all along so we kept calling the service. We were a little disappointed because our old kitchen had a custom built-in refrigerator work 23 years and never had a problem before it broke down. The Viking refrigerator door could not close properly because a mullion glide did not fit. The problem did not occur after the first service and the second service occurred this afternoon where the rep was very courteous and knowledgeable. The servicemen delivered and it seems working now.

The repair person then came out and replaced the door because it’s not shutting correctly. He then told me to use the self-clean feature because that would warp the door and burn off the electricals. Our 36 wide Professional 36 model Viking Range wouldnt hold the correct temperature and required six (yes 6) visits by the repairman to correct the problem. One might suspect that the repairman didnt know what they were doing, but its actually quite the contrary. They started the process by trying to eliminate the most commonly occurring problem(s) first, then moved on to the more complex issues. Bottom line, during the course of the multiple visits, the repairman said that it takes them an average of 4 to 6 visits to get Viking products working properly!!! (If I produced such an inferior product at my company Id have been out of business by now.) One big problem that still needs to be addressed is the obnoxiously noisy fan that Viking provided, to keep the oven cool enough to not melt the mother (control) board. Nothing like a roaring oven fan in the background when youre trying to have a quiet dinner conversation, eh? Personally, Id never buy OR recommend Viking to anyone, as the quality of their product is way beyond mediocre. Oh, almost forgot to talk about the problem were having with our Viking double door refrigerator, where when you close one door, the other pops open!!! Nothing like having quality (and pretty darn expensive) products in the kitchen to come home to every day, eh?

Viking stove experience EVGIC365-6B SS - We have bought this stove back in 2006 in Europe. It is by far the best cooking device available on the market today. Only one extremely negative downside: We have had to replace the spark modules almost every year on average. This was the 10th time. It seems to be a design fault. You may expect that they last longer. The spark models are located fairly close to the rear burners of the stove and are only lightly protected by an thin sheet of aluminum cover. The way the blue plastic spark modules look after being replaced, it seems that the on-board electronics are cooked to the extreme as well. Whats your opinion on that re Viking guys?

Ive known about Viking forever and I chose them because of the aesthetics of their pieces, their higher quality and that they would last longer. I like the height of the refrigerator I got and the size of the shelf because its easy to reach everything. However, I had a frustrating incident with their product which I never had with my old crap refrigerator. It appeared that somehow ice had formed in the circulation system between the freezer and the refrigerator, which caused the refrigerator to not be able to cool down. It took many weeks and two different people to come out to try to fix it. There was no sense of urgency. Viking was recommending the first repair company that didnt work on weekends, which was unheard of. Viking also didnt have enough time slots open to serve everyone. The fridge was fixed but there was a runaround in terms of payment and the Viking people didnt seem to know what they were doing. Viking needs to up its customer service game. They cant charge what they do for a refrigerator and not have 24/7 phone support and people who know what theyre doing on the other end. In this day and age, they cant meet the expectations. Thats not acceptable for this kind refrigerator at this cost. I could have gotten a better service with Sears or GE. I wont be buying a Viking again and I would go with somebody else just on the customer service experience Ive had with them. Overall, the refrigerator is a beautiful product but there is no support for it.

I liked the durability. However, I am so unhappy. I purchased the refrigerator then right away, I noticed a sound. I called in two weeks after I purchased the refrigerator because of the sound. Viking sent a repair person. They replaced the motor. And now, it has another sound that’s bugging me, so I rescheduled another appointment. I realized I had felt it but I was always in a hurry. The handles are giving shocks off. I had an electrician go in yesterday. And for some reason, he passed by the refrigerator with his gadget to detect electricity, and there’s electricity running through the handles where we open it. And he said, “Whoa, call them immediately tomorrow. Get them over here. This could be dangerous.”I was talking to Viking regarding this and I paid $4,000 for this refrigerator. They were sending me repair people. And Pacific Sales told me they only had a 14-day exchange, and Viking will only do repairs. Now, with this issue, I want a replacement. I dont want to settle for a repair but they want to keep repairing everything, so I’m going to call them this morning and see how were going to address this issue.

Within six months, the oven is not working properly and there is a problem with the cleaning. The large shaft doesnt come out. So you have to maintain the range. I purchased all Viking appliances thinking they were high quality. Unfortunately, I had problems from the start...especially with the dishwasher. Like many other customers, the silverware basket began falling apart within the first year. I complained to Viking and left with the impression they just dont care if you are satisfied or not. I cant stand the thought of paying up to $80 for a new Viking basket- after paying so much $$$ for the dishwasher in the first place- so I am still using the broken one currently held together with zip ties. If that wasnt enough, the start button on the top edge that turns the machine ON failed. That cost me close to $200 to replace one tiny electronic part. I have a small apartment size dishwasher in one of my rental units I paid only 1/4 of what I did for my Viking and it cleans dishes so much BETTER than my expensive Viking. I replaced the range I had and bought two Viking Ranges. It was attractive and it was exactly what I was looking for. Their reps were very nice and accommodating and Im completely satisfied with the quality of their product. However, Ive had a lot of things going on so I havent used them that much. I may have used the oven once and the burners, half a dozen times on one of them and I havent even used the other one at all, which is in my lower level kitchen. Also, there was no timer built into the stove or the range at all so I didn’t have anywhere to give timed cooking. I didn’t think about it when I got it and I guess its part of the professional type atmosphere or professional type product they were trying to portray. But the features I like the best right now is the knobs, the way the knobs feel. That was one of the reasons I didn’t like my previous range. Moreover, the wrap on the stove for shipping was so difficult to remove. The delivery team wanted to get it in and get out of there and deliver. I couldn’t let them bring it in and set it where it belongs until I had all that plastic off. I had to pay the two drivers to help me get the stuff off. I could have never done it myself. And even when it was over with I still felt like I could see remnants of it in the corners and where the metal meets the metal. And then inside the range, they used white tape on the bar of the racks on either side so that they won’t move under shipment. I was sweating on the floor trying to get that tape off of there. Maybe they can use a zip tie or something that you could just cut with the scissors. I sell expensive merchandise and one of the things that is required of us is that we contact the customers within a couple of days to see how they are enjoying their new product. It has been a month since I got the stuff so I was wondering if they were ever gonna contact me. I did go right online and registered them right away on their website because I felt that was important that they have that registration. So, I was surprised that I never got anything, even a thank you letter in the mail, not that I needed it. But to me, that was something I thought a company like that would do for when youre buying a high line product like that. Many companies send thank you notes when you do business with them for the smallest things much less a major purchase like this. I wasn’t expecting they send me a dozen roses, but I was expecting something. Nonetheless, its a good product and Im very happy with it. That wouldn’t make me not buy another one.

Viking had good reviews and their products look good. We went to Trail Appliances, the distributor, and the salesperson showed the Viking products to us. We liked the products and bought several appliances in the same make, including a gas stove, convection oven, and dishwasher.Trail Appliances tested the refrigerator before they left. There was a problem with it, so they didnt install it. They replaced it immediately. It was really good that they tested it. Other dealers just put the appliance in, then you find out that it doesnt work. So far, the Viking refrigerator that we got is really good, and Im happy with it. We like its looks. Everybodys complimented me on it. It works better than my previous refrigerator. I like the excellent ice maker. Well need that in the summer. The good thing about it is that it keeps fruits and vegetables for a couple of weeks, especially fruits, compared to my previous fridge where Id have to throw it out in three or four days.

Ive known Viking from many years ago in the food service business. I wasn’t going with the Viking Refrigerator, but with the Viking cooktop. Both appliances came as a package deal and the sales pitch was one item would be free, so it was easier for me to do that. I would have never gone with Viking for my refrigeration purchase. I’ve been using the refrigerator for about a month now and it appears very sturdy and I feel its gonna last. It also appears to do a great job to have the room that I thought it did for its size. I also like the digital controls on top that tells me what’s going onPeople have to understand the options that come with their Viking Refrigerator, like the ice maker versus non-ice maker, down to if they have water filtration for access to waterspouts. Viking is really there when you’re looking at the quality. On the other hand, Viking is not sitting extremely well with me on the customer service side. I had the direct vent and it hasn’t worked since day one. After three months, they finally decided to replace it. I saved my money for a very long time for those items and they are the biggest expense Ive ever made on appliances. It was quite depressing knowing that Viking didn’t stand by some of their equipment. So, be cautious.

I heard about Viking over the years being quality, so I was excited when I could finally get my own. I got my stove in November and we would hear this loud noise as we were heating up the oven and I didnt worry about it. It sounded like metal bending and I said, Oh, its just new. It just needs some time to loosen up, warm up, get used to -- just to be operated. But it kept happening. My daughters like, Mommy, I dont know. This doesnt sound right. It keeps doing this. We finally decided to call. First, I called the place that I made the purchase from and he didnt return my call. So, I decided to call Viking directly and they were very helpful, told me there was a recall on the part of that particular series, and then the ball started moving. They took care of it, told me what was going to happen and what we needed to do. Right now, Im waiting for parts to be delivered to me. I already have a contact person that they gave me that will do the installation of those parts. They recommended me not to use the oven. I can use the stovetop, but not the oven. So, thats what Ive been doing for the last two weeks. I love the stovetop. It gives very even cooking. Also, I like that you can take the whole top part. Each piece comes off so I can get to every part to clean it.

I was in a time crunch so I had to make a split-second decision, and I heard that Viking had pretty good reviews. This was the first range I got as a six-burner gas range and it was horrible. Whenever we would turn on the oven, it would make a loud banging noise like a gunshot in my house. The repairman came out and drilled holes in the bottom of my new unit. He said that would fix it because of the expansion of the heat heating up the metal. He did that and left, and afterwards it was worse than before. This was a $7,000 unit that was recommended by one of the Viking people. We went back and forth with Viking and they sent out a new one. The new one came after a couple of weeks of arguing, and the top was all scratched. The black part of the iron grates was peeling off. I opened the door and the door was bent. There was a quarter-inch gap you could see on the installation inside. I finally had them take it back again and I tried getting my money back. They didn’t reimburse me the whole thing for some reason, so I lost $800 on the deal. I went with a whole new different range. I would not recommend them and I would never purchase another Viking product.

I was deciding on getting either a Sub-Zero or a Viking refrigerator. But I wanted to get a Viking range so I stuck with Viking all around. Somebody who was an appliance specialist that I had worked with in the past arranged the purchase for me then I had it installed. Unfortunately, the hose underneath it connected to the solenoid leaked and I had some kind of serious floor damage on my wood floor. I left a fan on for three weeks and it finally started to come down a little bit, but I still have something wavy on it. It was quite disappointing because you spend so much money on something like that and you expect it to be perfect. But when I told Viking that I needed someone urgently because the refrigerator was leaking, they sent somebody immediately and that guy got out there that same day which was great. So overall, my experience with Viking was very good and hopefully, the refrigerator will live up to its reputation.

It cant even hold a magnet so its a stainless steel look but its not. The original was sturdier and the inside shelves were more metal. This one seems to be plastic. The freezer part is a lot of plastic. It doesnt have the durability of my old one. Its a cheaper made Viking although I like the sleek look of it.

We were re-doing our kitchen and wanted to go with the latest and greatest.
We were re-doing our kitchen and wanted to go with the latest and greatest. We liked Vikings reputation and some of our friends have Viking appliances as well. My whole experience started off with one dealer. When I went in there, I gave them a deposit but I ended up canceling that because the woman that I was dealing with didn’t know the product line at all. So, I didn’t feel comfortable with that. So, knowing what I wanted, I then reached out to a dealer on Long Island and everything at that point was done across the phone. And the girl that I dealt with did an excellent job for us. So we purchased the 48-in range, the dishwasher and below the counter microwave. And I was really happy with that as far as the coordination and delivery of the equipment. I’ve also spoken to Viking directly done in Mississippi a couple of times and they were helpful. I had a couple of questions and in the middle of everything, there was a model change going on. called them and said all right, tell me the differences between what I had ordered and what I’m going to receive and they did a good job of explaining the difference there. When I had the issue with the dented panel on the dishwasher, they turned it over to a third-party and I was hoping that they could address the issue sooner than later, but it was a smaller organization. So, I had to wait a couple of weeks before I could get them out to the house but when they came, they were spot on and did an excellent job. So, while I had to wait longer than I would have liked, I was happy with what they did.It was interesting because one of my friends has not had a good experience with Viking around the range and parts. But I didn’t allow that to bother me because I don’t know how much of it was them or how much of it was Viking. There are always two sides to every story. So, even hearing the horror stories that they had to tell, I am pleased with what we did and I’d be happy to recommend Viking to anyone so far.

The hinges are faulty! This stove is barely used as I travel much. They are less than 2 years old!!! Customer support was horrendous. Back orders for these parts means won’t deliver until sometime in November. Ordered on October 1. The cost is $568.79!!! Are they gold plated??? I did not chose these appliances for my new home. I will NEVER buy their products! This is only one repair company in my entire area that will service them. I wonder why???

Our previous refrigerator was a Sub-Zero, and Viking has more cubic feet of space than the Sub-Zero. The interactions with the Viking reps were fine. We bought it at Best Buy and had a helpful sales clerk there. We happen to hit a sale which also helped out. They provided delivery service and that was seamless. I had a frustrating and disappointing experience with Viking Ranges. I chose it because of the style and cost but the range I received was horrible. The first time I used it, I turned on the burners and then I turned on the oven. Underneath the burner, it exploded into a flame so I got a fire extinguisher and put it out. I called Viking and they sent out a repairman. He looked at it and he said that the range was a total loss so they arranged to have it replaced. When they came out to replace it, they arranged the time with me.The night before the agreed time, they called me on a robocall and told me a different time. So I called them back and I said, Ive already arranged to meet at the time we agreed. They called back and said, No, we cant do that. They said that the only way I can arrange the time is to wait til 24 hours before theyll tell me when the time would be. Thats hard to do if youre working so that was a hassle. So I said, I dont know what to do because I cant meet that time you want cause Ive already arranged with my work to be the other time, which we already agreed to, well, I already made the appointment. That was a week earlier and they said at that time it was fine to have the time that we arranged. So I did, then they said they didnt have another day when they could tell me when they could come back. They called me an hour later and said, Okay, we can meet your original time. They came and replaced my range.Viking’s customer service reps were fine but their service people were a hassle because of the scheduling. The actual service man who came out was fine. What happened was very dangerous. The repairman even said that if I turned on the oven first, let it go for a long time and then turn the burner on, there could have been an explosion. But I had the burner on first and then I turned the oven on so all it did was catch fire underneath the burner. My Viking Range works fine now. Its just that I got a really bad Viking Range in the beginning.

We bought the Viking Series 7 48” Dual fuel range with the ViChrome gridd
We bought the Viking Series 7 48” Dual fuel range with the ViChrome griddle for our remodel. The range looks really good, unfortunately we need one that works as well. Let me start with what works well. The burners are very nice, delivering consistent heat. The stove top is easy to clean with few nooks and crannies. Now for the things that don’t work well. The ViChrome griddle looks good but a horrible surface to cook on. The only thing that doesn’t stick like superglue to the surface is pancakes, as long as we use ghee. Any other fat or oil does not work at all. The surface is very difficult to clean. The griddle itself has a problem that there is a high temperature difference between front and back. The back will burn things while the front will undercook. Only about a 6” piece of the griddle cooks at the set temp. I had the workings of the griddle changed out by Viking service but it did not change a thing. We gave up using it as it’s not worth the trouble.By far the biggest disappointments are the two electric ovens. There is also a large temp difference between front and back of the ovens, upwards of 10 degrees. This too was addressed by Viking service but no change. The only way to get even cooking is to manually rotate the dish. The convection fan sounds like a jet engine and makes this very large range shake. Viking service replaced the fan in the larger oven but it shakes now more than ever. We gave up using the convection ovens as the noise and shaking are just too much to stomach particularly given the $15,000 price tag. Finally, each oven has a heating element at the top which shuts off when oven reaches temperature, unfortunately it will kick on during cooking when oven is at temp and proceed to burn whatever it is we are cooking. I lost count of how many dishes have been ruined by this. We have to watch the heating element constantly to insure the dishes don’t burn. The range looks great, but what a huge disappointment. I am a second generation Viking customer, growing up with the older models that built the great Viking name. There will not be a third generation Viking customer in my family. There are better products out there a 1/4th the price.

Finding service has not been easy. Theres a list of certified vendors, but its not as easy. Viking went well with the house I was remodeling. We replaced a pretty old refrigerator, and I like Viking better. I also like the temperature control feature. But the dealer and the delivery company were jerks. They were just opportunistic and cutthroat. Their business practices were if you don’t say something, its your fault for not asking and you got it. Basically, the kind of person Id never recommend to deal with again. I told the delivery company, “Typically, bring a small van cause you cant get up of my drive way.” The idea was to get the van, instead of a 40-foot or 24-foot semi tractor trailer. And they said it was my fault. They refused to redeliver it, so I called the people who sold it to me and said, “Hey, this is crazy. I told you ahead to have a small van, and the delivery company that you paid to do it is refusing. They said not only theyre not gonna help me, but if I didn’t pick it up in the next two days, they were gonna start charging me for storage.” They pointed the contract clause and said that it has to be deliverable by a full size truck. It didn’t matter if I said something on the phone to them. The contract clause specifically go down the detail, black and white and I was at fault. Therefore, they were not gonna help me. So its pretty bad. But we managed to get it home because my nephew had a pickup truck, so we picked it up. I bought every single Viking thing in my house online from different places, but this is the first time Ive had that problem. Ive never had any problem with the equipment itself. Viking itself is fine, but everybody else did a bad job.

My friend had a Viking range and I liked it. I like the look and feel of them, the professional grade and quality. Those have been questionable, however. The stovetop works fine but the oven never worked right and it took me a long time to finally get a service tech out. He came last week and ordered the parts, so I’m waiting for them. I bought the oven stove brand new online for $5,000, yet it hasn’t been working for a month and a half now. I heard and I saw consumer feedback bashing the maintenance support but despite that, I bought it because it was something I wanted. I figured it is high quality and it won’t need that much work, but it has turned into that already, so theres a little buyer’s remorse. I buy something high-end like that and I expect good service, and I havent seen that so its disappointing. I’ve since gone to Wolf and I checked it out, and their product support is over the top. If I had to do it all over again, I’d probably go with Wolf.

The only comment I have is I have a couple issues with my refrigerator. They came out and fixed it. But with the range itself, the one time I needed a service, it was supposed to have a five-year warranty on the burners, the one part was not covered under the warranty. Im very happy with Viking products. I consider them very good and very well-built. Its very reliable. I had the previous Viking range for eight years and there were no problems at all. Its a very good brand thats why I wanted to have it. However, the process of this particular case of me getting this range on a deal (I found a great deal of a new unpacked range for almost half the price) and the things that followed werent great. I got the range, brought it home, installed it then there were some problems which I reported in my communication with the company. It was quite lengthy to get the proper technician to come and look at it. Theres a whole process that I experienced talking to the company and the company has another company hired for public relations. I got an email from that second company that the issues were being looked at. Then the same second company recommended the local tech but I wasnt happy with the tech that worked initially. The local company that was hired to look at the things that are not functioning reported something that wasnt complete. So, I had to recall the technician and another technician came. They ordered the parts that were malfunctioning and they installed it. The second tech finally solved it but it was about two months of smelling gas and its been quite stressful. The process could be something more straightforward like you talk to the company and get a response from the company. There are no middlemen and no broken chain of relaying the problems that are reported.

Viking Refrigerator had the most cubic feet in all refrigerator units in 2006. I owned one since 2006 but there was a corrosion issue in it which caused some problems. The warranty honored most of the repairs and it had been fixed. Then I just put in a replacement for the 2006 model that I had. I have high expectations that this new one will be a little more durable. The interior lighting on the new one is great and the accuracy of the temperature seems to be very good. The only drawback is they are extremely expensive. They jumped in cost tremendously from the first time I bought it. But it would have cost even more to reset the space for a different model. So I went ahead and bought a second Viking. Other than that, Im happy with the performance of it. The length of the order time for the new refrigerator was really excessive. I ordered this new unit in October in hopes of getting it in before the holiday season cause I was having a big party where Id cook enough food for 100 people. But I didnt get it delivered to me until May. Apparently, Viking had to send it back to the factory a couple of different times because there were defects and it didnt make it through inspection.

We were building a house and knew that we wanted a chef standard range. Viking was one of the options and the price was fairly decent when we purchased it. I like the gas burners and the convection oven which cooks our food faster. The quality is also very good. I previously had an electric range and its not even in comparison with my Viking range, not even close. However, we recently had to get two of the switches replaced for the ovens and the ovens were down for almost a month. There are only 2 companies authorized to work on them through Viking and the D&T Appliance is not a very good company. Viking had over 300 of the parts in stock, but it took forever to send them and get my ovens fixed. Were in the process of selling the house and I dont know if Ill buy another Viking because of that. Viking knows theres something wrong with it. They wont have 300 of those parts in stock if those switches werent bad. I love my Viking range but I dont know if I would recommend it because of the customer service. If there’s nothing with it, it’s the best range out there. If something goes wrong with it, good luck.

I heard about Viking Ranges online and from friends that had it. I liked the name, the look and the feel. There’s a lot of good parts, and as far as the performance, the heating elements of it, especially the oven, its very good. It heats up really fast and I really like the feature. However, the main issue I have with the range I bought is the door being so heavy. It has different panels and then those panels are latched to each other. I’ve been having issues with the door not latching all the way because it’s so heavy that it’s coming apart. And since the door doesn’t close all the way, now the heat is escaping. I had a technician come out here twice already who tried to repair that and rescue that back in there, but now it’s the same issue happening. They won’t replace the door. I’ve called everywhere and nobody gave me a satisfactory solution. At first I called from the retailer I bought it from. It was right at the end of the warranty period. So the first time they came out here, it was still under warranty. They repaired it and no charge. And then, six to eight months later the same thing happened again and the guy came out here again. So, he wrote it up and apparently they didn’t want to replace the door. They just repaired it. So, we’re having the same problem. And then I tried to call Viking directly and then I had under the warranty extended warranty go to waste. If you pay a lot for something you have high expectation and high quality, but it doesn’t seem like it. And then we call and don’t get the resolution that we expected. For that reason, I would never buy a Viking again.

Its just a fridge, and frankly a poorly designed product, that for some reason costs an order of magnitude more than others. My Viking is 19 years old but the first failures started in the first year. Shelf units and other plastic parts crack and break and the price of replacement is half the cost of a brand new fridge of another brand ($600 for a plastic drawer cover! - be warned!). Im about to haul my $15,000 fridge to the dump because the back is rusting out, it leaks water onto the floor whenever it defrosts, and the control panel no longer responds to key presses. Ive taken my fridge apart. Im a former VP of Engineering for a few product development companies and in my opinion there is nothing in this fridge to justify the price. Its just a fridge. Cheap electronics, poor mechanical design, and for some reason this company is able to charge a huge premium for their product and extortionist prices for replacement parts. Save your money! Buy something else!

Bought two Viking refrigerators in 2006, started using them in 2007 and encountered major issues while still under warranty. We just replaced the door gaskets for the third time at a cost of $700 (parts and labor) for one of the refrigerators, but we totally needed them replaced because they ripped apart and refrigerator door would not seal. So far we had replaced: bottom set of fans, gaskets, computer panel, ice maker, and door hinge. The refrigerator freezer unit door still swings open by itself, always have to hold on to it otherwise it can hit person behind, which happens. Interior plastic bins all show signs of cracks. Water evaporating fan has stopped working on one of the units. Water breeds mosquitoes unless you clean tray by removing from panel screws.Today, second time in the past month that the unit started beeping because freezer and fridge temperature reached high temperature, meaning refrigerator stopped working because unit iced over inside. We emptied out the unit and will let all ice defrost for two days and then hope it works again. I will never buy another Viking product of any kind again and truly hope they go out of business.

The quality of our Viking Refrigerator is good. Its all metallic and easy to pull down drawers and wash and clean. But the thing that we are having an issue with is when you open the refrigerator, its very heavy because the door is custom-made. Then the stopper there broke last week. So we had someone come and replace it. But Im worried that its gonna happen again. Other than that, everything is good.

We bought a brand new Viking Professional 301 Series Built-In Dishwasher when we moved into a new townhouse 18 months ago. It hasnt worked in a month, although we have had 4 service calls and 4 parts replacements in 3 weeks - after the last visit it flooded the kitchen floor after the tech left. I think we have had 8 service calls in 18 months. There is obviously a problem with the dishwasher (it has been discontinued) however Viking refuses to consider replacing it. Viking does not stand by their product - rather than provide us with a working unit, they prefer to jerry-rig a series of failing repairs. This is one of the worst customer service experiences we have ever had. I would not recommend Viking to anyone. I understand that appliances fail, however for us the failure has been the integrity and quality of Viking Customer Service. What a disappointment.

The quality is good. I like the simmer quality. However, Im having difficulty cleaning the top of the range because it says that youre only supposed to use soap and water, but that doesnt clean it. I went to Trail Appliances - one on King George, in Surrey, and the new one in Cloverdale. I went to two branches to try to ask them about accessories for the Viking because I wanted to get a grill cover, and I also wanted to ask them about how to clean and the maintenance, but they werent very helpful. I have the six plates and the grill. Its a 5 Series. I would like a better engineering of that particular product. They should have made at least one of the plates a small one, because its six large plates.

We like the pull out drawer for the soda and for the snacks of our Viking refrigerator because its big. But we had a lot of issues with the refrigerator that we got. We had some problems with the icemaker and with the inside of the refrigerator temperature being too cold where a lot of our food got frozen. It took about two months for the repair process to be completed from the time they came to look at it, to the time the parts came in and got installed. The icemaker’s fixed, but I’m yet to determine whether the actual inside of the refrigerator has been fixed or not. But the people from Viking have been great to work with. As far as the experience of getting the refrigerator fixed, the process was pretty seamless. But it would have been pretty nice if the parts were available in the technicians truck and ready for install.

In December of 2010, I had my kitchen remolded and bought an 8 burner, double oven Viking Pro range. When I owned a restaurant in the mid 80s we had a Viking range and I loved it. It cooked evenly and baked, roasted, broiled - fantastic. So Viking was naturally my choice. I paid around $12,000 for the range and $4,000 for the vent hood. The first year after it was installed, I did not use it much. My Mother became ill and I went to take care of her. When I started using it last year, it worked fine for a few months. Then in October of 2013, the oven started to cool down after an hour or so of cooking. Thank goodness I purchased a warranty for five years. The Viking certified repairman came out in November 3 times until a part was replaced that was recalled or so they said. The ovens and burners worked fine when the repairmen left. Two hours later, nothing worked - not even the burners which had no previous problems. Nothing would come on. Three more times repairmen come out. Finally in February, it was fixed until May when it started to do the same thing. The oven would not hold heat. Two more service trips and two months later, it was once again fixed. 10 days later after cooking and baking every day, the oven did not cook properly. My cheesecake and pies were not done in the middle and the bottom crusts were uncooked. A 3-lb chicken took 3 hours to roast and still was not hot enough to be safe to eat. A week later, the repair service is out again. Only this time he only puts his thermometer in the oven and after 30 min. says its holding temp. properly. Cant tell you how frustrated I am. I am not an amateur cook. I was a chef for 15 years and I used good ole recipes that have worked more than a thousand times in the correct time limits. Even after adding an additional hour to hour and a half baking time, pies and cakes were raw in the middle. Repair man doesnt understand it should be cooking properly. Hello, I showed him one of the pies I kept - nothing to say. Hate this oven by now. Cant understand, unless it cant work when used daily, for more than an hour. I will never buy a Viking range again. Bought my son a nice LG. Works beautifully - no problems at all.

We know and we like Viking so we go Viking all the way. We have two stoves, one gas, one electric, a microwave, and a dishwasher. Theyre easy to use and everythings upfront. Everything else we buy these days, including a car, comes with a tutorial on DVDs and 48-page pamphlets just to introduce the other pamphlets. But Viking we just look at it and there it is. Our Viking refrigerator is only a few days old and so far its been fine compared to the other one, which was a disaster. Its very steady and has a door alarm. In case I get caught in a fugue like state I can always be reminded by the alarm. And everythings uniform in terms of refrigeration throughout the compartment, which we like. I also like that it has a barrier bar between in the back of the right hand door so when we’re closing it it really seals. The ice maker is good. We can turn it off if we dont want it and there are no issues about leaks and going into trays. It is very self-contained and efficient. The Viking dealer have very friendly folks. They told us about others brands, more for contrast. They didn’t try to sell us anything else. Once they saw we were going Viking they reinforced things and they were very efficient. There was a lot of communication. They called us back and forth. The driver with the appliance had called us three times telling about his route. They did exactly what they said they were going to do, price wise and in terms of the delivery date and the people who brought it in. The delivery folks were great. They spent over an hour leveling things and they did a great job. They were very careful and neat and one of the best deliveries weve had since we were here. The only thing that Id have to get used to is the bottom drawer which is a long drawer and gives good storage for the cold zone but theres nothing about that that we use right now. Although I could see for the future we might be loading different sorts of perishables in there. We have to open both doors to get that lower drawer open. Its not a problem it just culturally I hadnt been doing that. And should a friend ask me about Viking refrigeration I’d say, “If youre rich, get it.”

Do not buy this range. We have had this range for 10 years, and it has been nothing but problems. The starters for the burners had to be replaced, the lights stopped working and every time we replace the bulbs, they immediately burn out, the controller board had to be replaced twice, and now there is no power to the oven coils which leads me to believe that we have another controller board in our future. We bought this range because of the purported quality, the versatility of the gas top and convection oven, and we have been disappointed at every turn. After spending $4200 for a range, you would expect something more than service calls and constant breakdowns.

I have all-Viking appliances in my kitchen and I had a custom refrigerator. It was 10 years old and I was having problems with it. Not all the parts were available and it cannot be fixed so it was time to buy a new one. If it had not been built-in with the cabinet, I would have purchased a Sub-Zero because a lot of people said they had quite a few problems with Viking refrigerators. And it was $2,000 more than the Sub-Zero. But I wound up buying a Viking because I had to put in this cabinet what would fit. I got the exact same size as the one they took out, which had wood panels that matched the cabinets on it. But they dont do that anymore. The new one is all stainless steel, and it looks good with the stove and microwave, which are also all stainless steel. They all look the same so it’s fine. Its brand new and it cools well, so I have no complaints. I like that there is LED light in it, because its bright. You could see inside well. At the bottom, you have that little area where you can put a normal-sized pizza box and just shelve it right in there and it fits. Viking has made some design changes from what we have had previously and I think they’re good. But my questions were around the reliability in the long term. Because refrigerators arent necessarily Vikings wheelhouse. Its more the stoves and stuff.

The dishwasher had problems working within the first few months. We thought we just did not know how to use it. We have a three year warranty. Two and a half years later, we finally called for a warranty service call. We were told that Viking has a recall on all their dishwashers. We have had three service calls to date, its still not working. The service person has replaced almost every circuit board, wiring loom, motor, pump etc. Now we need a fourth service call to replace another circuit board. I am now asking Pacific Sales to replace my dishwasher. I was told no by one of their employees. Im now waiting for a manager to call me back. I am insisting Pacific Sales replace the defective dishwasher they sold me.

Our Viking Range is wonderful. We purchased it from Eastbank, and the people there were very good in terms of the installation and explaining all the features so that we can make an informed decision. I like the ease of cleaning it. When something bubbles or spills over the cooktop, its easy to clean it. There arent a lot of grooves where food can get stuck in. The only downside is that the oven has two knobs. One of them turns the oven and the other is for the temperature. Its a little counter-intuitive and not easy to see. Other than that, our experience has been very good.

From the day my refrigerator was installed, it didnt work. The temperature was always above 45 degrees. A repairman was sent to my house 12 times between April 2008 and May 2009. Then miraculously, a different guy came and it seemed worked for 14 months. To this day, I do not know how one guy fixed it in 10 minutes when another guy came 11 times, spent hours and still couldnt fix it. When I voiced this concern, the company accused me of saying the guy did something unethical. So I let it go. A huge mistake. Now, the same old problem is back. I had to agree to pay for the service call and parts which I did. The tech guy recommended certain parts. The repair guy never used those parts instead, he installed a part for $165.00 which was already replaced twice. It cost me $404.00 and the refrigerator is once again not working. Temperature is above 45 degrees. So now what? Junk a $6000.00 refrigerator? I continue to pay for service calls that should have been taken care of when the refrigerator was installed. This is a black hole. No way out. Viking service is terrible. They do not back their products. Do not buy Viking.

The gas stove top is terrible....the knobs fall off and stick, the burners do not give equal gas distribution. All of the appliances are less than 8 years old. $8400 for the main fridge. $2200 for each beverage Centre....and lord knows how much for the gas stove range top. I would never ever shop Viking. Buyer beware....fancy name and reputation but terrible products and costly to repair.

Were in the Florida keys and we just spend a couple of months a year at this house. We had to get a local company to take out the old refrigeration units and put the new ones in. We needed someone that would guarantee they could get the units upstairs. It was a complicated matter so we chose Viking Refrigerators for practicality purposes. The couple times I saw the Viking rep, he was very pleasant and it was so nice that he could call the company to get right in with somebody to troubleshoot problem. It was really good that they offer that so I know I wasnt relying on one person with very limited knowledge as to what they have. The refrigerator was doing well but there was a lot of noise in the beginning. I took a peek on the top for some vibration and I read in the instructions 22 screws go in there. Once those were put in the noise went away. Also, the quality control needed some help. In the freezer the sensor at the bottom of the door was installed backwards. They had several visits but they couldnt figure out what was wrong with it. And they finally got it, had to order in a part and then we had ice. But other than that, they have been great. Right now, Im super happy with them. I love the size and quality of the ice cubes. They fit right in my water bottles. The freezer doesnt defrost so much every time that the ice sticks together. So thats good, I like that.

We purchased this unit, Viking Refrigerator DDSB423SS, when we remodeled our kitchen in September of 2006 at a cost of $6,000! We also purchased the 5 year extended warranty. We have had ongoing issues with the unit, but most recently it has become unbearable. On Feb 17, 2012, the unit stopped cooling. Everything in the freezer melted. I contacted Carl Schaedel & Co, the authorized repair company in my area. They could not come to diagnose the problem until 11 days later, February 28th. When they came, I had to pay them $189 for the service call. I then received a call from the office indicating that it was a problem with the sealed system, and that the cost of parts and labor to repair the unit was covered under the manufacturer’s warranty, but my $189 fee was not returnable. Furthermore, the first available appointment to come to do the repair was three weeks later, March 19th! Mind you, both my husband and I work for a living, so in addition to not having a refrigerator, we have to take time off from work to deal with this. On March 19th, 2012, the service man came and replaced the mother board. The refrigerator appeared to be working after the mother board was installed. He told me to wait 24 hours before using, which we did. After 24 hours it seemed okay, it was making ice etc. So, I went grocery shopping and purchased $175 worth of fresh and frozen items, put them in the unit and 6 hours later, I opened the freezer and everything had melted. Furthermore, now there appears to be a broken gasket, which was not broken prior to the service call, so the door is not sealing properly when closed. On March 21, my husband called Carl Schaedel again. At this point, he was angry and frustrated so he gave the long list of issues over the years and then indicated that the March 19th repair did not fix the problem and he also mentioned the broken gasket. It took 8 days to get another service call. On March 28, a different repair person came to the house. He walked in to the house and within 30 seconds said that it’s not a problem with the mother board, it’s something else. But he did not have the part on the truck. He will have to order the part! He did however have the new gasket which he put on the door and then told my husband to pay him for that since its not covered under warranty! My husband made him put the broken gasket back on. Why on earth would we pay for a repair to a refrigerator we cant use anyway? So today is March 30. I have just gotten off the phone with Carl Schaedel customer service rep again, asking when the tech will come to do the repair. I was told that she does not have the report from the tech yet, that it usually takes 24 hours. Okay, well its been 36 hours. I am now waiting for her to call me back, to tell me when they will come and whether or not it is covered under the warranty! We have been without a fridge for 6 weeks now. We have two kids and have been living out of a cooler! Doing our best to shop for breakfast and lunch items that dont require refrigeration but dinners have been tough, so we have been eating out most nights which we cannot afford! We also have a Viking 6 burner range which also had problems and had to be repaired several times, but that is another long story and my major concern right now is the fridge, as the situation is really debilitating. We are, beside ourselves and after reading the numerous other complaints, it appears we are not alone. Is there nothing that can be done? I am sure the CEO of Viking is very well to do, at the expense of us consumers. I have seen references to a class action suit. I am willing to participate, will even take a leadership role in making it happen, but I have no idea how to go about this. Can anyone assist? Please?!
