Electrolux Refrigerator difficulty
Purchased a Frigidaire Gallery side by side in December and had it delivered to a new house. We purchased January 23rd and the fridge was delivered the next day. On February 4th I came home from work and found my kitchen and dining room flooded and the hardwood floors in the dining room are warped and water-stained. The reason for the water damage was that the water in the door of the fridge came on by itself and ran for hours. A couple of days later, I got a call from Wendy of Electrolux in the claims department, letting me know that I should claim with my home owners insurance because if I file one with Electrolux, I will have to get to estimates and they will only pay a prorated amount on my wood floor because the house was built in 2005. TWO WEEK OLD, SIDE BY SIDE FLOORS HOME AND I SPENT 3 HOURS CLEANING UP THE WATER, AND NOW I HAVE TO PAY FOR DAMAGE CAUSED BY ELECTROLUX.
I bought a refrigerator brand new from this company about 3 years ago. Since buying my refrigerator they have been out 4 times to service the same part. 5 times if I can finally get someone to come out and service my refrigerator yet again because it stopped getting cold. I have had 2 appointments and know one have shown up. They was either canceled by the company or the worker never showed up. When asked will I be reimbursed for my food. I was told they dont do that. This company is HORRIBLE.
My fridge is not cooling food or drinks, I have had milk, cheese and dips go sour before the expiry date. Tech has been out twice and replaced the temp sensor with no change in the temp. I set the fridge to 33 and Im lucky to get 37 with doors closed for 12hrs, Electroluxs response was well if you set to 33 and get 36.5 it is fine. NO I paid over $3000 for this unit and I expect my fridge to preform, I have emailed and contacted them 6 times and they have ignored each complaint. The unit is 3 months old and I need something to be done immediately, should I pursue this legally or are there any other ways to be heard?
Units are made in Mexico and are poorly tested, made and stood behind by Frigidaire who warranties this 23 sq ft stainless unit for 1 year. You can get an extended 3 year warranty called a Platinum star warranty as an option. Little faith it might last one year as we see it. Numerous complaints are on the web primarily centering around the a ice maker. We are on # 3 ice maker in 6 years since purchase. Customer service in Ga. was a TOTAL waste of time and we were advised no recalls or bulletins had been issued on any model. Wished you could have heard their lack of concern. We guess after waiting over 30 min. for an agent, most people would have bailed on the call and we called first thing in the morning. Keeps the complaints down if you cant wait an hour to get help. In addition to the ice maker, we now have a ce code alert on the front led panel and no lights in the unit. After shelling out 3 service calls for this fine work of refrigeration- this will be our last, The repair is scheduled in 12 hours and it will be sold.We called our place of purchase Goedekers in St. Louis and discussed our displeasure to the owner whose sales people pitched this as a great deal for $3500 in 2000. The sales people placed it in the category of Sub Zero, Wolf, and Viking. Goedekers were asked today to have the local or regional rep. contact us but they doubted we would hear from them so now we are warning all consumers. We are on city water and when the unit was installed-GOEDEKERS ran the water line. To replace it if that contributes to our issues- the current repair people now say I need an additional plumber charge to re-install it. More charges to remedy a piece of crap that had little testing on it before it was placed in the market place. Craigs list will be seeing this soon- we pity the buyer but will just say we are going with another brand and this runs fine now. It is true Electrolux sucks - in vacuums and now refrigerators. DO NOT BUY ANY MODEL OR YOU WILL SUFFER BADLY. Our model is: EW23CS65GS1. You have been warned.
I have had FOUR refrigerators in Seven years! I bought the first one which was replaced by Electrolux followed by the same thing for a total of 3 times. Unfortunately this last time when the brand new replacement came, it worked for a few hours and then quit, leaving me with ruined food and no refrigerator at all for more than two weeks!! Yes, we have had Electrolux replace their poor quality French door refrigerator but it takes months of calls and repair people visits to come to that. Imagine doing this FOUR times in Seven Years. I am so over. I wake up every day and pray the brand new one is still running!!
Electrolux has been nothing but an aggregation. I carefully selected this wonderful looking piece of equipment only to have the fridge konk out. Service was nothing but a run around...3 service visits and replacement of the mother board still resulted in an epic failure of now both the fridge and freezer. Local service company completely useless. Cannot express order parts. Dont even have basic parts for something that apparently is a chronic issue! Its going on 3 months with no fridge. Electrolux totally unresponsive pointing finger at repair co stating they cannot replace unit unless the company deems it unrepairable. Service co is so bad they move at a snails pace. Third visit stated that had never been to the house for a call before. Too many crossed wires. RECOMMENDATION: BUY A KENMORE FROM SEARS!
I made the mistake of purchasing an Electrolux bottom freezer refrigerator in 2010. It was not cheap ($3300.00) at the time. I liked the design. The ice maker has not worked since I purchased it. There is always something wrong. Two months ago the ice maker was not freezing ice. I contacted the warranty company and they said they would send someone out. Two weeks went by and I heard nothing. After cleaning up water I called the warranty company again and received a very nice lady (Pamela) and she sent someone different out. They came out and three weeks later put in a new part. That was last Friday. I still do not have ice. Phone calls (3) to Mr. Appliance have not been returned and the call to the warranty company was very abrupt. Latisha could have cared less.
This fridge fit the existing under the cabinet space. 5 years in, every plastic piece of trim has cracked or broken. I love everything about the inside, but it looks horrible. Cheap plastic on a very expensive refrigerator. I was worried about the noisy ice maker. Honestly it is a 6 second noise every once in a while. This trim, another piece breaks off every week.
We purchased a refrigerator/freezer with an automatic ice maker in the door on 12/9/2013. On October 6, 2014 we needed to have the water dispenser serviced as it ran by itself every minute all evening and damaged a big area as it ran into the basement, ruining ceiling tiles. A service person replaced the dispenser module which was under warranty. This morning when we got up we found that it had again been doing the same thing and again ran into the basement damaging more ceiling tiles. Now the real problem is that Electrolux cannot find a technician that will service our area and are waiting for a call back. We found a company that would service Electrolux products but they are checking to see if they are an authorized dealer. How long do we wait for service or for a call back? I will never buy an Electrolux appliance again. The same part shouldnt break after 8 months.
Purchased 10/31/09. Ice maker stopped working 6 mos after purchase. After 9 service calls, it is still not working. After 4 years, Electrolux offered to replace. I wanted a refund or extended warranty which they refused. When I decided to accept the offer, I was told it was no longer available. The freezer door handle is loose. The temp display is disappearing and there is a hole about 1 inch above the interior light where the paint is peeling. I suggest consumers with these problems contact the US Consumer Product Safety Commission at Cpsc.gov to file a report so we can get this unsafe product off the market and possibly get a refund.
Purchased Electrolux fridge model EI123BC361IS in 2010. Yesterday noticed not cooling. After troubleshooting it was determined light switch not functioning which resulted with bulbs (4) staying actively lit after doors closed. The bulbs super heated fridge causing internal temp to read 99 degrees. The heat from the bulbs melted a hole in internal plastic wall exposing styrofoam insulation. Partially melted another hole over another light. Lower bulbs turned sockets dark brown and also began to melt plastic there as well. Contacted customer service said machine not under warranty. No kidding, I told them not really interested in warranty, I wanted to let them know it poses a fire threat. Their response was to advise me to call a technician and examine it. I suggested to them they should send out a representative at their own expense and forwarded photos to them. Did not get the impression they really care and were not very helpful.
Can only wonder if the GE acquisition is a factor in the terrible cust service from this once prestigious company! Previous service calls were handled professionally and never had an issue until Sept 15 when I called cust service and ordered replacement part which covers the motor, etc on back of refrig. Unit arrived approx 10 days later damaged beyond use due to improper packaging of unit (modified box broke open, packing material missing, and unit was crushed). Called cust service back and a replacement unit was shipped out and arrived 4 days later but it was the wrong part. There are only two parts on the backside of a refrig -- the metal plate covering 90% of the unit and the cardboard panel covering the motor, etc! Called cust service again and was advised even though Electrolux rep ordered the wrong part, they would only waive restock fee and I was financially responsible for return shipment for a 35 x 13 x 5 box. Lastly, submitted online complaint to cust service expressing my disagreement with the shipping issue. Next day received email reply stating Saw you called in and matter was resolved by waiving of restock fee.I seriously question if there is some type of learning/listening disability issue (such as Attention Deficit Disorder) with the Electrolux service staff. Or perhaps they just dont care -- put in their hours and collect a paycheck and go home. Three out of four reps failed to listen/absorb what was being said and merely mouthed platitudes and repeated errors. While I was very polite to all of the cust service reps, I am thoroughly disgusted with the corporation and would not recommend Electrolux products.
Never buy an Electrolux side-by-side refrigerator with a water dispenser and ice maker. We bought one in 2011. After the first year, the water dispenser began to function erratically (the water wouldnt stop running). Over time, this problem cascaded into a myriad of problems that caused the entire unit to fail. We had paid for the extended warranty, so Electrolux replaced it. But now, the replacement unit has the same problems! Were reluctant to start the repair process, fearing this unit may also self-destruct. Our only option is to again pay $800 for the extended warranty but a good product should not require customers to endlessly invest in warranties. This product seems to have an inherent defect that the company has failed to fix. Save yourself this grief and buy some other brand of refrigerator besides an Electrolux.
What is worse the refrigerator or the 800 number customer service? New refrigerator came, got set up and the control panel didnt work. Two weeks later the tech came with the second one that also didnt work. One month on a new refrigerator and no ice. Since then, an ice maker service call repair every six months. Company takes no ownership of their products performance and customer service and their supervisor spend their time trying to sell a $300 per year service contract. I have 5 Viking and 2 Samsung appliances in the kitchen purchased at the same time. One problem with exhaust fan, repaired promptly. Electrolux is an awful company, making awful products, and treating their customers badly.
Our Electrolux Fridge with French doors was 1.5 years old when it stopped working. Couldnt get a hold of Electrolux, they dont even have a customer service line and refer you to the website and wont return messages from there. Called the local service tech. He tested and replaced the inverter. Turns out the distributor, who Electrolux licenses had the wrong part. They said it was Electrolux who gave them the info on it. Electrolux refuses blame. Anyhow it caused the compressor to go, the tech said hes arguing our case with Electrolux regional manager who says were out of warranty and on our own. Never and I repeat NEVER buy an Electrolux fridge!
The sealed unit developed a leak after 4 years. Had service company reclaim and inject leak freeze into unit and recharged. 6 months later same problem-unable to fix leak in the wall of unit anymore. I asked the tech if this was unusual. Tech says yes, but this brand typically only lasts 8 years anyway! 4 years and $2400.00 later, hauled away to the junk yard.
We have a new side by side refrigerator. It is faulty from the manufacturer and Electrolux agreed to buy it back. Unfortunately the consumer has to do all the work. Including get a sticker off the inside of the unit. After multiple attempts the sticker tore in many pieces. When I called customer service they said pour vinegar on sticker for 5 minutes. I questioned how to do this on a refrigerator we are using. He hang up on me. Worst customer service I have ever had. We dont plan on buying Electrolux again.
My husband and I have had nothing but problems with our Electrolux refrigerator. We have had the ice maker serviced numerous times. Now it’s out of warranty and have paid 800 dollars to fix something that Electrolux knew could not be fixed. Now Electrolux won’t help us on a refrigerator that we bought for 3700 dollars. Electrolux won’t help us at all. Electrolux is a terrible company when it comes to customer service and Electrolux does not stand by their product. Electrolux need to understand if you piss off consumer we will stop paying your product.
This product was purchased in December 2006 and installed in our home in April 2007 after our home remodel was completed. When we purchased this product, it came to our home from Home Depot in a box. However, after only 4 years, the freezer has stopped working. And, when the repair man came to check the product, he pointed out to us that the product had welder soot marks around the left back bottom and parts had been refurbished inside the unit. In short, the product was not a new product when we purchased it from Home Depot in 2006.When we contacted Home Depot about this matter, the appliance manager was very concerned and stated that they will be checking all products from Frigidaire for refurbished soot marks. He also stated that the freezer should not have stopped working after just a short length of time.As a result, we have contacted our attorney. Our attorney explained that his office will be contacting the FDA and also the Federal Consumer Affairs Office in Washington and request a full investigation into this matter. It is suspected that Frigidaire is selling refurbished products; and 100s of other consumers may have been scammed as well. The product arrived at my home from Home Depot in the manufacturers box and sold to us as a new product. However, the repair annalist informed us on 3 November 2011 that the product was refurbished not new!We called Frigidaire Customer Care Center today at 1-980-236-2000 and talked to a representative who had an extremely illiterate tone over the phone. In short, he basically told us to go to hell.1000s are being scammed by Electrolux Corp (Frigidaire distributor). Please investigate! Thank you.
To all my family, friends and shipmates: Please forward this on to as many people as possible in order to get the widest amount of coverage as possible! My wife and I purchased a new Electrolux Refrigerator (Model Number EW23BC70IS) on 25 May 2009 at a cost of $3699.00 for our new home. In less than a year were so many problems with the refrigerator; ice maker not working and freezer drawer cracked (which were covered under warranty), that Electrolux finally replaced it with another one (Model Number EW23BC71IS) on 29 April 2011.On 9 August 2013 there was a service call to replace electronic board and ice maker. On 5 September 2016 another service call to install Rear Insulation Kit. Finally, on 16 May 2018, a service call to install Air Handler. Then less than month later, on 13 June 2018, a service call to Beach Appliance Service, LLC., regarding frozen water line, no ice or water, and large mold patch on wall next to the back of refrigerator in addition to water dripping from back of refrigerator. The bottom line is that even though Electrolux was contacted both by Beach Appliance Service, who provided a total of 18 pictures (including mold), and myself (at least 5 phone calls) regarding this issue, Electrolux’s bottom line was that the refrigerator was out of warranty and that they would be happy to give me 10% off a new refrigerator. Please tell everyone you know what a lousy product Electrolux makes and that no one should buy anything from them or go through what we did. Since I didnt any resolution from Electrolux, I am now taking them to small claims court.
Purchased 1st refrig in 2011. Problems with ice maker, replaced with new one, making ice but it switches to water mode and shoots water all over the floor. Cant fix. So now I am waiting for them to send me my 3rd refrig. I hope it comes soon before my wood kitchen floor buckles from all the water that leaks out plus water is leaking inside the unit. The back of the refrig is oil canned, I can hear water dripping 24/7. My previous cheap brand refrig I had for 18 years never 1 problem. I hope this new one is the keeper.
This has been the worst product ever to purchase. I bought a Frigidaire Gallery Series refrigerator back in May of 2016 and had problems ever since. It was the refrigerator on top with two doors and a freezer at the bottom. Had I known that these appliances were only going to last 5 to 7 years tops, I would not have purchased such a flawed product. That is the life expectancy of these products and people dont usually know that. I have had 7 repair people come and take a look at it and they say it cant be fixed and not working at all. It wont get cold or make ice and it has been down for 6 weeks. So dont purchase this product.
Purchased a matching refrigerator and freezer units with a trim kit for our newly built home. Prior to installing these units, both were plugged in to ensure they worked properly. The freezer did work without issue, however the refrigerator (after three services) still doesnt hold a temperature under 70 degrees. We asked for a replacement from the company we purchased it from (Jetson of Stuart Florida) and was told that the manufacture would not authorize a replacement because the unit could not be classified as unrepairable. Called the manufacture, and was told that they had no record of any service on the refrigerator. After the manufacture called the service department at Jetsons, and discovered no service call history was forwarded to the manufacture, all that could be done was another service call had to be set up. (Runaround, runaround). Of course a technician will get the unit to work for a few hours and again it will fail, and this merry-go-round will continue. I am out $2,000 and no working refrigerator. Buyer be aware, every seller of appliances must follow the manufacture replacement policies. Once you take delivery you are stuck.
I had a GE refrigerator for 21 years. For my 50th birthday, I asked for an Electrolux refrigerator (no comments on this please). What a mistake. It is less than 5 years old and I have spent almost $2,000 on repairs. Yep, learned my lesson on extended warranties. The water line has not worked for almost 6 months. The recommended repair company told me to open the freezer door. Wow, thats impressive. The clip on one of my sliding drawers cracked last week. I was on hold for 20 minutes. Gave up and ordered what I thought was the right part online for $15 dollars. This little plastic part is about 1 in diameter. Guess what? Didnt fit. I spent one hour on the phone today trying to order the correct part after I finally reached a supervisor. Seems you cant order the clip alone. It comes with the slider but no directions on how to install. So how much would a repairman cost? What a joke. Never, ever again. The worst customer service ever.
My husband and I purchased our Electrolux fridge last November 2014. We chose it because it has a fairly reasonable price compared to other competitors like Samsung and LG. It was our first time trying out this brand and we were not disappointed. Our fridge is almost 2 years old now and it did not give us any headache. It's very spacious and cools greatly. There were also ice trays included in the fridge so that's a plus. It's also very easy to clean and it has a very sleek design! Would recommend to others for sure!
We purchased our home in December of 2016. With the purchase included a new Electrolux $2700.00 side by side refrigerator. Within two days of moving in, the water dispenser stopped working. After 5 visits from a technician and 5 replaced freezer doors, the builder agreed to replace the unit. Electrolux received call after call from our technician regarding the issue and we were told via the technician that Electrolux wanted us to pour warm water through the ice dispenser on a daily basis. If I am correct, the user manual did not indicate that this was required on a daily basis in order for the dispenser to work. I would not recommend the purchase of any Electrolux products; poor quality and poor customer service. BUYER BEWARE.
French door refrigerator - This has been the worst appliance ever created. We purchased in the late Fall of 2011. Very soon the plastic grey trim popped off the freezer door for no reason. Just two adults live here so no wear and tear. Not happy about it but taped it on until finally giving up on tape holding. Customer services response was lame and we were not willing to pay for their ridiculous fix so I would have to live with this aesthetic. Then we began having issue after issue with the ice maker. Grinding noise, not making ice or it all freezing together -- on and on and it never got fixed. Repairman has been out 3 times in past 2 months. He was back yesterday and we pulled the fridge from the wall and we were horrified. The back had a big block of ice protruding. It had sweated and rusted out the entire back panel. The insulation was shot. This is nothing more than a boat anchor now. We paid a lot of $ for an appliance that didnt even last 6 years and weve hated it since about a month after purchasing. We have lawyers in the family and were planning on initiating a class action suit. I would use an Igloo cooler before I would ever consider an Electrolux refrigerator or anything! They dont stand by their product and they shouldnt be allowed to get away with these continued issues. The fridge should be banned from further production and the company should close its door if they cannot remediate the problems and compensate customers for these losses. We now have to buy a new fridge after spending approx $4000 less than 6 years ago.
This appliance is a piece of junk and the service has much to be desired. Bought it with other kitchen appliances while redoing the kitchen. Have only used it two months and here are my complaints: doors were dented when unit arrived, new doors were put on with seals put on backward, water filter leaks water on the floor, unit makes more noise than expected. Freezers doesnt seal. Even after service people allegedly fixed it I thought it still didnt seal. Turns out I was right. The freezer door rails need replaced according to third service company!! The electronic computer board has malfunctioned and is reading error codes. The refrigerator will not maintain cold. The evaporator fan needs replaced - not working. Some type of Unit blew out when there was some type of power outage. Now, keep in mind this is two months of use!!!!!! I am filing a lemon law complaint and complaint with the Better Business Bureau. The response of Dormont Appliance and Electrolux has been much less than stellar. DO NOT PATRONIZE EITHER OF THESE COMPANIES (for your own good!).
My husband and I purchased an Electrolux refrigerator from Lowes in March of 2017. In May of 2017 we moved into our new home that was just built. In August, 2017, I came home to water in my kitchen that was coming thru the ceiling of my finished basement. A repairman was sent out to replace a part. In September, 2017, I was standing at my kitchen sink and the water dispenser just came on. Thankfully I was home to shut off the water. The repairman asked me to videotape it the next time it happened to document it! Another part was ordered and replaced.About 10 days ago (October, 2018), I woke up early to get a glass of water and found myself standing in water and water again coming thru the basement ceiling. Lowes stated I was out of warranty and to contact Electrolux directly, which I did. This morning a 3rd repairman came out and again stated a part needed to be replaced. I requested Electrolux replace this obvious lemon of a refrigerator but they will not. They can only offer me an extended warranty thru March 2019. I have no confidence in this product. I will not be able to leave my house or go to bed any night for fear that this will happen a 4th time. How many times does this product have to ruin my home before it will be replaced? Do not buy model E123CS35KS4A if you value your home. Shame on Electrolux for not standing by their product.
We have been dealing with repair companies that cant even get the parts for at least 3-4 weeks. This is a new refrigerator that is not even a year old yet. 3 months now and they still will not replace it. What a nightmare! The repair companies they use also do not want to do the repairs because they say that they have to go through hell to get paid. I have sent email and tried calling but Electrolux could care less. Dont buy one is my advice. They dont stand behind their products at all. It also cost us 2600 dollars so its not a cheap one...
Our experience is very much in line with previous reviews from other people. We purchased a refrigerator for a tenants apartment in February. It broke in June and the run-around started. 5 on-site calls from technicians and the problem couldnt be solved. We meanwhile purchased another unit from a different manufacturer and Electrolux insist to send another technician. Never seen anything like this ever before (we probably purchased 50 or 60 refrigerators over the past years). The time wasted by us, the tenant, customer service staff and money for the technicians could have bought 5 top of the line appliances... Never again and I will take Electrolux to court. No way that we spend another minute to entertain another service call. We want our money back.
There was an issue with the ice maker... it wouldnt make ice. It was finally fixed after 3 years. The water from the refrigerator also is not cold. This is a design problem. The price of this refrigerator ($4000) should not have any problems.
My experience with Electrolux appliances is junk, junk, junk!!! I purchase three brand new appliances and they all had to be serviced right out of the packaging!! The french door bottom freezer refrigerator is junk. The ice maker in the bottom drawer was replaced within a month and a half after purchased. The upper ice maker has been replaced once, serviced two more times since then and now needs to be serviced again!! It goes through some type of defrost mode which causes the cubes to melt in both the upper and lower bins, which then drips out of the dispenser in the door and once again it does not make ice. It frosts up behind the ice bin itself which in turn needs to be serviced again to replace some seal. I have always purchased GE appliances and gave Electrolux a try being they are suppose to be a higher end appliance. Never, never again would I purchase Electrolux!!
Microwave quit working after 3 years, known flaw in design, want $406 for new door. Bought $3500 refrigerator, after 2 1/2 years had to be replaced. Luckily I bought the extended warranty. Do not buy Electrolux
I purchased the Electrolux EBP163 refrigerator but it sounds on auto-cutoff. The problem was there from the first day itself. When I complained to the customer care they somehow replaced it with a new one but again the replaced unit is having the same problem. Now no one is listening to the complaint and the customer care people keeps cancelling the complaint given. Also an engineer contacted me and told to live with it as the sound is common & universal for all models. I suggest do not buy any Electrolux product. BAD ELECTROLUX.
Very expensive French door model purchased almost four years ago. Problems with the icemaker from almost day one. Repairman needed almost every six months. Right now, it functions, but is very NOISY - grinds when trying to make ice. I learned too late from other reviews that the icemaker never worked on the wave/touch model and there seems to be nothing the manufacturer can or will do.
We would like to express our disappointment with the Electrolux refrigerator model: EW28BS71IS. We purchased this refrigerator in March of 2010 to replace a 7-year old Kenmore side by side refrigerator. We chose this model by brand name knowing that Electrolux is the leader in the industry in quality and service on appliances. Its unfortunate for us to tell you how far youve missed the mark with the model we purchased. Weve had the model serviced three times since weve bought it. The ice maker board has been replaced twice. My wife and I both missed four days of work due to the service calls so the repair person could come to service the fridge, one day for them to figure out what was wrong and another day for them to install it. Our last experience was the most painful. The main board went out and we had to live out of coolers and a dorm size refrigerator for over two weeks. It took three visits by the service repair man before the refrigerator was working again. They ordered the main board from their parts list which took four days. They came to install it and the board in the fridge is different than the one in the repair manual they had. This required them to order another board which took another four days. If we didnt have large Kenmore upright freezers, we wouldve lost all our frozen food.Whats amazing to this story is we arent the only ones dealing with these issues. We happen to be out at a party with some friends telling them our refrigerator saga and that my wife has put her foot down that if there is one more issue, the fridge is gone. They asked the model and when we bought it because they were having similar issues. Sure enough, they bought the same model around the same time. Ive included their story below. I cant believe we are the only two people having these problems and we want to know what you can do to resolve our ongoing issues.
I purchased a brand new built-in style Electrolux refrigerator and it arrived dead. A repair company sent by Electrolux identified the problem being there was no refrigerant, he then told me that my compressor will fail most likely within a year because it was run for a short time without the refrigerant and contaminated. Electrolux is fine to deliver dead products to their customers and will only offer to do repairs - not replace the fridge for a new one. Unfortunately, my compressor may fail outside of the warranty period and despite this being part of the refrigerant problem I will be forced to pay. I will never buy Electrolux products ever again.
New 10/2014 Have had issues with ice maker since new. Many calls to Electrolux at which I had to take numerous hours off work. Several different companies have been sent to correct problem at which it has NOT been fixed. Problem still continues and now is making noise on and off. Went before Electrolux board for replacement and was denied due to the fact the service people they use did not call from the house so to them there was not enough evidence. Duuuggghhh! Now, you know they have records of my calls and the people they sent out!! I was told by one Electrolux person that I need to have repairman call them from my house. Is that my responsibility? NO. One repair guy said, Nah no need for me to do that! I do not think it is my place to tell them anything! One repair guy told me that it was as good as it would ever be. It has always put out crushed ice from the cubed slot. To me cubed is cubed and crushed is crushed. NEVER had this issue with my other fridge. I have done tons of research and they have major issues with their ice makers, period! Monday I took off work again to have the repair guy show up and the order that had been called in (by a manager) said I was out of warranty and to charge me. Sooo, he had to leave and now we are waiting again... another day off work for yet another company to come next week! Oh yeah, and by the way they did not get anyone out after the Monday incident, I had to again take my time to call them. This is completely ridiculous and uncalled for! I really want my money back because this is fridge 5, all ice makers with way too many issues, unfixable! All within the first year! I could go on and on but this is just the tip off the iceberg. Today they told me I had to call the service guy to set my time but they had already give them a dispatch number. Called and guess what no #. Sooo again I had to call again! I think I need to be on their payroll!
Our Electrolux Fridge model EI23BC60KS (ELECTROLUX, REF F/S 24D, FRENCH DOOR, F/D, 23CUFT, 24D, HDN HNG, I/M) started overheating about 9 months post purchase. Since then weve taken at least 12 days off work so far to have service technicians come check it out (6x now) and then waited approx a week to get a second visit where they replaced a different part each time or turned it off. Worst is that every time, weve lost hundreds of dollars in food and we have a baby so had to purchase a mini fridge to at least keep his basic items like milk cool. When I reached out to Electrolux Canada Head office the last time, they indicated they couldnt do anything other than paying for parts given it was the same issue identified during warranty period because I didnt purchase replacement insurance (this was two days post warranty period). Again the same thing happened so this will be our 7th call to a servicing company. This is the second set of Electrolux appliances (we had them in our old house as well and I recommended them to friends and family given no their sleek design). Its so not worth it though unless youre ok having a fridge that doesnt actually function. This has been the worst product and customer support experience Ive had in my life. I paid a lot of money for a fridge that didnt even last 9 months, lost hundreds of dollars in food, taken several days off work to try and resolve and still no solution or support from Electrolux whatsoever.
In a year and a half we have had every single part replaced in our fridge and actually have had the entire fridge replaced. The fridge freezes your food - period. They customer service have stated that the fridge is operating as it was designed. You must strategically place your food in the fridge. It cannot be near the back part of the fridge - that is by design. That was not in the brochure. That being said you loose about 3 of space in your fridge, otherwise your food freezes. And yes if you place a glass of water near the back - it freezes. I have plenty of pictures to show. Poor design, poor customer experience. If you want a freezer I guess buy from this company but dont buy a fridge. Thank goodness I have a real fridge in my garage.
I bought Electrolux Fridge for a small condo. The Fridge is tall and slick, perfect from my condo that is used only 3 months a year. Problem: makes a snoring sound, water in the back of the back of the fridge, drips all the time. Sometimes it freezes. I called Electrolux from the store, they told me I have to talk to the manufacturer. They send someone but the problem remains the same. I called them again. They told me since a year has passed I have to pay one of their authorized technician to look at it, so I called a technician and paid him. He came while I was away. I assumed problem is fixed. When back in Toronto the problem is worse. Fridge has more water on the back. I called the manufacturer they said they never received a report from their technician and since a year has passed it is not their problem. Basically Electrolux does not and does not stand behind their product. They will have a reason not deal with you. I tell everyone please, please do not buy Electrolux Fridge. It is a problem. Do not judge a book by its cover. It looks good but it is the worst quality you will ever get.
I do not recommend at all buying from this company. My fridge Doesnt last more than 3 months. Water leakage, rusty and rude customer service people to deal with and no refund or exchange on my product. Im left with nothing.
The Electrolux fridge ice maker is the worst I have ever seen. They have been out to my house 3 times and the icemaker still does not work. The customer service is horrible. Electrolux makes a poor product that is subpar. Save your money.
My husband and I bought an Electrolux refrigerator (model #EI27BS26JS8) is August 2012. It is now on its 5th repair! Certainly happy that we bought an extended protection plan. Would never buy another electrolux product. Obviously, a new design is warranted.
Please steer away from this pricey fridge model-Electrolux Icon Model E23BC78ips. Since they delivered it had three doors replaced because of dents from manufacturing... I should had returned it since day one. Now the ice maker its not working and in the back of the fridge has is a big patch of corrosion (complete stainless steel fridge) at a cost of $3,699.96. When called customer service today, they told me that if I looked at the manual I would be aware that its not covered after a year. So basically its a disposable fridge with a high price tag with poor customer service...
COUNTER DEEP 3 DOOR WITH ICE IN DOOR - We have had this unit 4 years and had problems with the ice maker right away. This was repaired and works marginally but we have learned to live with it. Just recently in the freezer and ice unit we have had a rust issue. In the freezer the racks and the tracks are rusting and in the ice area a piece of metal in the unit is rusting and showing up in our ice. If you have this problem dont worry about any help from Electrolux. Even though this is the top of the line they WILL NOT be there for you. Even if this would have happened the first year there is no warranty coverage for this. So much for, You get what you pay for. We paid dearly and got sub par product.
We have a French Door Bottom Freezer stainless steel refrigerator that we paid over $3,000 for. The ice maker had problems from the beginning. First it would ice up, now it sets off an alarm saying a power failure has occurred. The repairman charges a fortune. The insurance costs a fortune. Really? A $3,500 refrigerator with this many problems & we have to pay? We are more than angry about this. My cousin bought the same refrigerator & her mother board went out! The part had to be ordered. It cost her over $600! I will throw this out the door before I will pay that much for repairs. I bought this in June of 2009 so 5 years!! Do not by this brand!! Nothing is made to last anymore. Just a rip off. Serial #4A91513407 Model #EW28BS701IS.
I bought a new standing Leonard freezer code number MUFF21VL-220 MUFF21VLHW-L. It is supposed to be frost free, but unfortunately it makes ice in the upper freezer shelf. It was checked twice by Ale ASA company, your dealer at Al Khobar, not able to repair yet. I bought this brand because I had good past experience with same brand fridge. Now I am disappointed. Please I need a solution to this issue. Since this reflects very bad on marketing your product. Hope to hear from you soon.
The ice maker stopped working in the French door fridge, after 3 months. The fridge is now leaking water throughout unit, and onto the floor. I made 4 repair calls, and still no ice. Im not getting what I paid for. I had to take 4 days off work, to wait for repair the repairman, and the issue is still not resolved.
We bought a Frigidaire refrigerator back in June, 2018. In August 1st, the refrigerator started to act up and stop making any ice or throwing any water. Since it is still under the first year warranty covered by the company, I called Electrolux to have this issue fixed. They have sent five repairs technician from two different service companies to fix this issue and have not fix this yet. Every time a new technician comes to diagnose it, they have to order a part. They have replaced so many parts and still not fixed yet. After three months waiting for technicians and parts to come, I request Electrolux to replace the unit and they rejected the request. They told me that they cant replace it until a technician tells them its non-fixable (the technician will never tell them its non-fixable because hes making money every time he comes to diagnose/repair it). In the meantime, we cant use our product after we paid so much. Electrolux does not stand up for their products, they will have you on and on until you give up and suck it up or until the warranty expires so the problem can be on you.
Bought an Electrolux fridge with French doors at State Street Discount in Portsmouth, NH after a lot of research. Didnt want front side ice and water because I felt it unnecessary and potentially problem-ridden. I saw some reports of ice maker being problematic. Embarrassed to report, they were right. Thing knocks, sticks, I fought with it with a steak knife, and have changed the expensive water filter per instruction several times. Its actually mocking me right now (kid you not) with a nice tempo of knocks. Called support previously and they responded twice with average butt crack service. Ready to throw a hatchet at this thing. Mostly to cut the top half from the bottom. Have worked over the freezer trays so much they are no wobbly.
Ice maker does not work. On second unit now. French door model with ice in door.. Some times will work for a day or two. Then it stops. It might make a cube or two in a few days then it stops again. Always made low volume of cubes in a day. Maybe two small cubes. Now I have to buy ice at store and put in dispenser. We have to keep a small cup in the door under the water tube because it leaks water on the floor. I bought a $200.00 refrigerator from Craigslist and keep in garage just to make ice. $200.00 fridge better than $3000.00 Electrolux!!!
Four year old Electrolux French door refrigerator/freezer model #EI28BS65XS6 is sweating and rusting on the rear panel, mainly around the upper right hand corner behind the ice maker. I purchased a Rear Panel Kit (part #5303918657) for $199.98 + tax from Electrolux, who stated in an email to me that this ...kit is the only fix for this issue. Unfortunately, the kit includes a huge, thick, black pad that covers the entire rear panel of the refrigerator except for the vented area at the bottom. The water lines to the ice maker have to run over the pad.Unfortunately, the refrigerator will no longer fit in its customer enclosure, which Electrolux has informed me is my problem, as they will not be able to meet any requests for a replacement model, as the warranty for your current model has expired... I am guessing that Electrolux forgot to put insulation in the rear of the refrigerator. They apparently have not notified their customers of the issue either, as I only learned of the problem when I pulled the refrigerator out to clean it. (The ice dispenser quit long ago as well, but thats another story.)
I got a double door Electrolux refrigerator this year. The day I got I have issues on cooling too much and spoiling things. I have complain thrice in this six month. I am not getting a solution. The worst service and worst fridge I ever seen.
I purchased a Frigidaire freezer in 2007 and, three years later, I purchased an Electrolux Extended Warranty (service contract). During the life of the Extended Warranty I called for service because my freezer was not getting as cold as it should and it was accumulating a lot of frost (not a frost free model). Electrolux sent out a, so-called, service technician who looked at it and told me that there was too much food in it and freezers should not be loaded over 50% of their capacity. I found other accommodations for the excess food, ensuring that the freezer was not loaded more than 50% but this did not fix the problem. I called for service again and Electrolux sent out a, so-called, service technician from the same company who had a different story this time, telling me that the drawers at the bottom of the freezer were not going all of the way back, impeding the sealing of the door.I couldnt see that the drawers were impeding the closing and sealing of the door but I defrosted the freezer anyway and discovered that the door seal was still not sealing and I could feel the cold air escaping from the bottom door seal when the door was closed. I called for service again and requested another appliance repair company to do the inspection/repairs because all I was getting from the company that they were sending was a lot of busy work for me which was not fixing the problem. They did send another inspector who took several pictures of the door and bottom seal and left with the comment that the door was misaligned.Several days later I received a call from Electrolux stating that their findings were that the misalignment was the result of consumer abuse of the door and they would not repair the door. I informed them that was absurd and an examination of the pictures that the technician took would show that the door was not damaged and there was no consumer abuse. They informed me that there were NO pictures accompanying the report and Electrolux was standing by their decision NOT to cover the repair of the door. How very convenient that the pictures that were taken which would make my case and refute their claim had just vanished into thin air!?!? I have filed a complaint with the BBB but Electrolux is sticking by their decision NOT to perform on its contractual obligations and they are doing it through deceit. I have also filed a complaint with the California Department of Consumer Affairs and the results of that one are pending. BUYER BEWARE when dealing with Electrolux Extended Service Warranties! Like me, you might pay perfectly good money for a perfectly worthless piece of paper.
I bought Refrigerator and Freezer twins at Max Center on 13-02-11, both with one-year warranties. Upon installation by Electrolux technicians the next day, the freezer had a thumping sound and ice formations inside the door. We called the technicians who came several times, made some installations on the door, but never resolved the problems. Lately, Electrolux does not answer our calls, and we are unable to have this problem corrected, or receive a new freezer. The freezer has an air leak which has not been corrected and Electrolux has offered no new solution or help.
When I first bought the side by side Frigidaire Fridge, upon delivery the delivery guys dropped it, and broke the leveler. I called Home Depot, I wanted a replacement so that I wouldnt have problems later on, they would not replace it because I didnt call within 48 hrs, I missed it by 2 hrs. They did repair it. 11 months later it stopped cooling. I called HD, they scheduled a tech from a local company to come out to service it, two weeks go by and have not heard anything. I call HD and ask when they were going to come out, HD gives me the number to call the service co. I call, they said they cant get out for another week, OK fine. On the night before they were to come, they call me said it would be another week. They said they were really busy and couldnt come out to even see what was wrong with it and didnt know when they could. My guess is that warranty work is not a priority. I called HD, and asked if there was someone else who could service, they set up another company. Another week goes by, I hear nothing, I call HD, they give me the companys phone number and told me to call, they tell me I should be getting a call by the end of the day. However they will give me the number in case they dont. I asked if they had all the information or if I need a reference number for them? They said, No, I spoke to them and it is all set, they know all about it and they assured me they will take care of you. They didnt call, I call them the next day. I said to the owner, You should have been contacted by HD, they said that they gave you all the information about what needs to be done, he says, About what? I said, My fridge, Yeah I got a call but Im not doing it, I wont do any warranty work for Electrolux, they owe me money, he went on cursing, cursing and cursing at Electrolux that I had to cut him off and hang up. I call HD again, I say, I thought this was all set up with this company, also why they would Electrolux use a company who wont do warranty work and bad mouths them? They really need to find dealers who will support them. I would be embarrassed to send a customer to a company like that. HD looks up another company, another company and asked me to call them, I say, Wait a minute, first of all you wouldnt even know that the fridge is getting repaired, you call the service companies however you dont follow-up to see if it was actually fixed and that Im satisfied, I dont get that? Im the one that has to call you to tell you that Im having issues, you are relying on your customers to tell you. They said they would call the 3rd company. A week later, I call HD, no one has contacted me, they call the service company, and call me back, they tell me I should be getting a call by the end of the day. However they will give me their number in case they dont. I call them the next day, they said they would come out in two days, and they do. They determine it is a line leak, they said they dont do leak repairs. Im now 2 months into this with no fridge and $450.00 of spoiled food. I call HD, they said they would call Electrolux. Another week goes by, I call HD, they tell me that they are trying to get it replaced but Electrolux has to approve it. Another week goes by, HD calls me, Electrolux approved replacement because they couldnt get it fixed, we have to wait for the paperwork. Another week goes by, I get a call from Electrolux, they asked where I bought it, I ask why they needed that and said Home Depot, he said, Because we go back to the same company who you bought it from. Im thinking, you should have already known this, you have been talking to them and approved it. 2 more weeks go by, I dont hear anything, I call HD to see when it is going to be delivered, they have nothing in their system, they have to call me back, two days later I call HD, still cant find me in their system, HD conference calls Electrolux, Electrolux said they ordered it through Lowes because HD doesnt keep them in stock. Electrolux said I should have received a call by now from Lowes, Im sure they will call you in the next day. Another week goes by, I get a voicemail from Lowes, they want me to provide a receipt, they dont have it in stock it has to be special ordered. I call the Electrolux Corporate Supervisor who I had been talking to up until this time. Her voice mail kicks in, she is on vacation and leaves a phone number and message and to ask for a supervisor at that number. Im 3 months into this. I call the number and I told the Electrolux Rep on the phone I wanted to talk to the supervisor, she said, Ok, but first I need to update our system then I will transfer you, she ask me if it was a side by side, I said yes, she then said that, Lowes should be in contact with you, have they contacted you, I said, I wanted to talk to a supervisor, she went on and told me I need to call Lowes and that they will get it delivered. I asked for her supervisor again, she said, Sir Im telling you what you need to do, (Isnt it great when they TELL you what you need to do, instead of doing it for you).I said, You dont know the story, I already made contact with Lowes and it has all changed, thats why I want to talk to your supervisor, in fact I was told to talk to your supervisor, get me your supervisor, she said that it might take a minute, I said, I have been waiting for 3 months, whats another minute to me, let me talk to your supervisor, Ok sir one minute, she transfers me, the supervisor comes on, I tell her the story, (It is also noted in their system). She could care less, I said, I have been without a refrigerator for 3 months, how much time should a person have to wait? She immediately replied, in a condescending tone, Well I had to wait for things too, I asked her, What does that have to do with me? She said, Well sir, Im just saying... I respond, I could care less. I need a fridge. I said, Lowes wants a receipt before replacing the fridge, she said Yes, they need that.I said, They want a HD receipt? Yes they can request that, I explain that I bought it online and I didnt have it, she said, You have to have it to get a replacement. I said, You guys (Electrolux) already approved a replacement, you called Lowes and gave them a PO? She said it was out of her hands and that it was up to Lowes, You need to call Lowes. Throughout the call her tone was very condescending, as if she didnt want to help. I then asked for her supervisor, she said O.K. However if I wanted her to she would call Lowes while I was on the phone, I said, What is that going to do if you are telling me I have to have a receipt for them to have them order it through you? I asked for her supervisor again, she transfers me to a supervisor who I had already been working with, the one on vacation whose message said to call her. Why transfer a person when the person isnt in? This is just a small, very small account of what it takes before you get a replacement or even an answer. I still dont have a replacement, I have made numerous calls, promises broken, my father has even called. Im not even sure if proper training would be beneficial? Based on the fridge being a special order, best estimate to receive the replacement is 4 months. Thats if they dont need a receipt. And keep in mind, HD and Electrolux both have in their systems the broken fridges serial, model number and the date which it was purchased. Furthermore Electrolux Corporate has already approved a replacement and has given Lowes a P.O. number. One last thing, they want to charge me to Haul their broken refrigerator away. UPDATE 4/18:Another week goes by, Lowes tells me they are having a difficult time getting the correct information from Electrolux. I call Electrolux and talk to a different Corp. supervisor, someone in their “Escalation” department, she states that they should not have set this up with Lowes since I didn’t buy it from Lowes and now must go back to Home Depot. However they are also trying to find another retail store to take care of it? She said that my original supervisor I had worked with will call me the following Monday to update me. I get the call on Monday afternoon, the original Corp supervisor tells me that the replacement should never have been processed through Lowes, and that she has idea why it was given to Lowes. I told her that she new I bought it from HD and that I even questioned her on why they would use Lowes? She didn’t know, she said that replacement will be coming from a third party, A third party I asked, so its not coming from HD? She said it looks like its coming from one of our warehouses and we just need to find a delivery company? She said she would contact me once they have it ready to be delivered. Very close to 4 months now from when I first called. My question to Electrolux is this? How long should their customers have to wait to be taken care of, 10 days, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, 8months and 1year? Please tell your customers, do you keep benchmark numbers, goals, do you track, do you care? Why do you not give apologies or be sympathetic? Also, since returns, damages, replacements, warranty work is part of doing business, why would you not use it to gain customer loyalty? This is what you do for a living. One last question to Electrolux, it’s not my job to do yours, or is it? My best guess to have a replacement is now 5 months.Update to follow.
We bought the refrigerator in July of 2014 New from Lowes. Immediately we had to place a claim for uneven doors. 1 year later after warranty had expired. All the rear panel from the refrigerator side was entirely cracked. The representative refused to do anything because the units warranty had already expired. Last Night my wife opened the refrigerator door and a lot of white smoke came out. She open the freezer and the entire upper door and ice unit were melted and black. It caught on fire. We quickly disconnected it from power. We are in the process of putting a claim to Electrolux.
Have an Electrolux bottom mount fridge which is 2 years old. Top handle fell off after 6 months and they replaced both doors. Just held on with cheap plastic. It has just fallen off again and my husband has glued it on. This is not good enough. Never had this problem with any other fridges. One is 35 years old. Do not buy. We paid way more that we could bought comparable fridges for. Service agents fixed the first time. We just couldnt be bothered with rigmarole. Have 3 years extended warranty. Just dont buy.
Same story as many other reviews. Bought a new Electrolux fridge online at Home Depot Canada. Was dropped off and after 24hrs I noticed ice forming in freezer. I called HD and after 4 attempts to contact the service repair place I finally had someone come and tell me the fridge is faulty and I now need to call my local HD to get a new one. After MANY calls I was then told to call HD head office, then was told to call Electrolux direct, then was told to call back HD H.O. - my head was spinning SO MUCH from the royal runaround. I am STILL waiting to get this dealt with. Keep getting promised I will get called back and NEVER once been called back. Ive spend hours of my valuable time chasing this around and sitting on hold. Like others have said I will NEVER buy another appliance from Home Depot NOR will I EVER buy an Electrolux product as their after sales service is non-existent!
My fridge was defective, it became evident 1.5 years into using it, but when I called I was told it was cosmetic and I had to pay for it myself. Then 5 years into it right after the extended warranty ended there was rust discovered in the back due to a hole because it was a defective product, the tech they sent made it worse by just covering it up. Now a 7 year old fridge... the entire back is rusted and now $3200 is gone. Knowing they made a mistake I am offered a 20% discount on another fridge. Customer service is nonexistent. Terrible product terrible service just awful! DO NOT BUY!
My son was sleeping when 9:30 AM he awoke to find flames coming from the melted rubber at the top of the freezer door. The flames were igniting baseball cards, etc on top of the refrigerator and reached the ceiling too! He opened the freezer door and flames shot out of the freezer! He closed the freezer door and immediately called the Fire Dept. He then threw water on top of the refrigerator until the fire persons arrived. They came in under 5 minutes time. They told me if no one was home, the whole house would have went up in flames...The ceiling is ripped open to make sure the fire didnt spread to main floor, the walls, cabinets were burnt, cloths and the flooring has water and smoke damage... The whole house wreaks of the smell of smoke. And as the NYFD said we were lucky... BEWARE..... I decided to go online.. This is not the first case of a fire starting in a freezer and it wont be the last!!
Refrigerator serial number 4A83408850. Not even 6 years old. For one week an alarm goes off and displays power fail. The alarm buzzes 3 to 5 times waking everyone up! Its nocturnal! Depriving us of our sleep! Electrolux said we need to replace the unit board which will Cost $130. Called for service from the place we purchased it and they cant come till Tuesday June 24. Electrolux said that eventually the refrigerator will stop working and I believe it because it is getting worse. Last night we got a new code display CE so we unplugged the fridge which helped reset it!
My preference is NO STAR, but thats not an option. I paid $263.95 for an extended warranty only to have the tech come out and tell me the unit (refrigerator) was built defective and would need to be replaced. I waited a couple of days and received an email letting me know I need to contact the delivery company and pay an additional $169 to have the defective product removed and deliver a new unit. Electrolux sells you junk and wants more money to replace it. I called the delivery company and they are telling me, your unit is here, but its on hold. I asked the person on the other end of the line, so now what? The response was, Call Electrolux to find out why its on hold.So I call and the person tells me he wants to contact the original customer service person I spoke to and figure out whats going on. He asked if I paid the $169 and I told him no. He confirmed my number and said he would call me back. 3 hours later no call, so I decide to call Electrolux back to see whats going on. I wait on hold for 15 minutes because of the heavy volume of calls. The customer service rep answers and I explain to her whats going on and her response is, they must have gone home for the day is why I never heard back. This is NOT CUSTOMER SERVICE! She tells me she needs my consent to release the product and I will pay on good faith once the replacement unit is delivered. I call back to the delivery company and tell them what I just did and now they are telling me, No, we do not take payment and I need to call Electrolux! I told her this doesnt make any sense and the woman said she will send Electrolux non-customer service department an email to figure out whats going on. I asked if I could at least get my name on their delivery schedule and she said no, as long as the product is on hold she cannot do that and here I am, SUPER FRUSTRATED and have no idea whats going to happen next. I will NEVER BUY from Electrolux again and will NEVER RECOMMEND them to anyone. I hope this gets out to as many people as possible and makes some kind of sense.
Our LG top of the line troublesome fridge of 5 years died leaking water on our wood floor. LG does not stand for Lucky Goldstar or Lifes Good; in my dictionary it stands for Lousy Garbage! Enough about that. We were now in a lurch for a new fridge without having the time to thoroughly research our purchase. Instead of going to a chain store that sells appliances (have you ever attempted to contact a salesman at Sears? Its a joke!) we decided this time to go with an independent appliance store. Initially we may have paid a little more, but what we received in service was priceless! Since we were less than a week away from Thanksgiving the owner bent over backward to deliver within a couple of days and the installation was professional, clean and non-damaging to any of our belongings. We went with an Electrolux counter depth model with the freezer on the bottom. We were impressed with the features and based upon that my husband wanted the deluxe model which had a special drawer for ice cream so that it is not rock hard when you try to spoon it our of the container. After it arrived I looked at ratings for this model and they were horrific. I felt my heart sink to the bottom of my feet, especially after the amount of money we spent. I didnt tell my husband right away for obvious reasons and decided to let time pass to see what transpired.Three months have passed without a single issue. It is a pleasure to have in our kitchen. The produce doesnt freeze, we have loads of room inside because of the design and we have loads of ice, a problem with counter depth french door fridges and one common complaint about the Electrolux. The ice dispenser on the door is great-small cubes just the right size for a glass or crushed if desired. The cubes actually come out when the lever is depressed (non existent with the LG) and water doesnt drip after dispensing water. The ice maker in the freezer is ingenious! Now I dont have to listen to the ribbing from my daughters about the stingy ice maker. All in all, I think that we made a wise purchase, and well worth the money.
I wish I had read reviews on the Electrolux refrigerators before purchasing. I have owned the refrigerator 2 years. The Ice maker has been repaired 3 times, but still doesnt work correctly. The main board failed recently and cost $500 to repair and took two weeks to get repaired. We also have trim coming off the freezer. The repairman says wed need to replace the whole door to fix. Im so frustrated. The customer service is horrible. The product is worse.
$3K Electrolux Icon refrigerator and we cannot get the icemaker to work. Replaced after four months and now it is 50/50 when we go to get ice that there will be any. Company tech who replaced told me that this is a known issue and that they have the worst icemaker in the market; nice to know after buying! This is complete garbage.
In April of 2015 we purchased a new home from a builder. The builder had Electrolux appliances installed so we went with what they had not knowing what a nightmare that would be! The first visit from a repair company happened within 60 days of being in our home. They ended up removing the refrigerator and giving us a new one because the fridge had a bent frame! The second refrigerator is still in our home and I have had to call and have 2 more service calls. Now, we are dealing with an ice maker that isnt working properly so we have ice building up on the back wall of our refrigerator which pushes the drawers out of their slides. We are now waiting for parts that are on backorder so our repair can be done. No worries, I can keep chipping ice off of the back of my brand new fridge! When you call Electrolux for a repair you end up speaking to people who never give you the same information about how or when the service appointment will happen. Their customer service is a mess and the real joke is that they ask you when you are finished setting up another appointment if you would like to take a survey to tell them how they are doing! Ha! Electrolux products, service and service providers stink and as a company they should be ashamed of themselves for making such crap products and charging so much for them! Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere for appliances. I mean really, how many days do you want to sit home from 8am-1pm or 1pm to 5pm waiting for repair work to be done? Lifes too short for that!
We purchased our refrigerator 4.5 years ago for $925. Though everything still looks and sounds ok, it has stopped cooling and the compressor at the bottom rear gets really hot. There is apparently a 5 year warranty on the sealed unit. After several phone calls, these are the hoops we would be expected to jump through: Not just any licensed refrigeration technician will do (since we already had one look at it). We would need an authorized servicer to come and verify if it is the sealed unit that has failed. The authorized servicer would charge us and it would not be covered by Electrolux (they say they cover materials only, not labor). That said, if the authorized servicer determined that the sealed unit had failed, the compressor and the evaporator are both obsolete items not available from Electrolux, so they dont actually cover the materials. Instead, Electrolux would offer us a 10% rebate toward a new refrigerator (presumably once we purchased it from them?) So the warranty is useless and we wont be doing any of this.
Refrigerator has had ice repaired 2 times in the first 8 months & still no ice. Also had circuit boards replaced in 4 years for both fridge & freezer. It took 2 weeks to get parts as they gave wrong parts number first time to repair company. Contacting Electrolux was useless as they said they would not stand behind product. We would never buy Electrolux again with all the problems we have had. We had whirlpool for 18 years prior without one service call.
Refrigerator less than 30 days olds. Gear bar in freezer keeps falling off, therefore must remove to allow freezer door to close. This causes drawer to be unbalanced, noisy and wobbly. Called company for replacement. Told my option was repair only. Purchased from hhgregg in Bowling Green KY.
3 yr old frostfree freezer started frosting up after 2 yrs. Read the reviews before making the purchase of stand alone fridge and freezer. Both are stainless steel and quite beautiful. This product has proved to be unreliable and I should have heeded the warnings in the reviews. Despite their beauty, I would not advise purchasing this brand.
I purchased the Electrolux 32 Built in Freezer and Fridge in June 2016... after remodeling my kitchen and buying all new appliances. I decided to spend a little more for the built in freezer/fridge... what a big mistake... HUGE!! After 3 weeks, my Built in Freezer quit working. I contacted Electrolux and they sent a technician out 5 days later. The technician told us he would contact Electrolux. After waiting over almost two weeks the repairman came back out with what he thought was a fix. Unfortunately, for us, it caused the freezer to climb temperatures that were worse than before. We called Electrolux again, and they sent the same company back out to do the repair. Once again... that did not work. Once again, I contacted Electrolux. They sent out the repairman again, it was fixed by the technician who said, Im pretty sure this fixed it. Sadly, it failed again. So once again, I called. It was fixed again and worked for almost 2 months... only to find that again, I had soft ice cream and meats. Once again, I call and I am not happy. After all this and being told over and over (as I now find this seems typical for their customer service) is the repairman must deem the repair unrepairable in order for them to replace the appliance. Once I finally had another technician to my home, he indeed said that the repair was deemed unrepairable, and told Electrolux the same.Once I called Electrolux back and told them this, they said even though he deemed it unrepairable, our IT guy did not, so we are requiring him to repair it. So once again, I have gotten the run around from Electrolux. They came and repaired it now 5 times. (I called them today so it will be 6.) I have lost frozen goods, twice and now... I will end up losing frozen foods again... because its currently not working. My freezer is now only 3 months old. This is unbelievable to me. I based my decision on what my appliance company said about their refrigerator/freezer and sadly, I am hugely disappointed. I have never, ever had an experience this awful. As a matter of fact, I have never, ever written a complaint. Unfortunately, I had to write my experience to make sure the next buyer was savvy enough to find these reviews helpful with their next decision. I will never ever buy a product that has the name Electrolux on it after this experience.
Electrolux FFHT2117LWO over-under refrigerator: This was a replacement for our old one under a utility company energy program. It has run OK, but you cant turn the defrost off, and it seems to run a lot. The handles are our biggest problem. We had to remove the bottom door handle because we hit our heads on it a lot-- opening from the left. It seems to be in just exactly the wrong place. Then, when youre rummaging in the main frig cabinet and straighten back up, POW you hit your head on the freezer handle, very painful and the handles have sharp edges, too. I have thought about removing their awful handles and making my own which curve up, from the bottom of the freezer door. They are not reversible. Emails to Electrolux customer service have gone without response.
I ordered a Frigidaire fridge in March of 2018 and it was delivered in August 2018. Frigidaire stated my warranty on the day it was delivered. I had the ice maker fixed 3 times and it has never worked properly. Recently, it wont even turn on. I filed a BBB complaint and Electrolux responded by saying that my warranty had expired.
Absolutely dreadful product and dreadful service from Electrolux. Fridge freezer was faulty from new with excessive frost build up. Reported on several occasions and an engineer was sent out but unable to fix the problem. Electrolux failed to act despite warranty. Were left with a defunct fridge freezer. Dont make the same mistake we did. Buy from a different manufacturer.
We bought our French Door Bottom Freezer Refrigerator in October 2009 as a result of upgrading and remodeling our kitchen. The installation did not occur until April/May 2010 and we had problems with a leaky ice maker, intermittent making of ice, noisy clicking doors, and notification of expired air filters after 3 months of use. We called one week after the 1 year of purchase anniversary date and they told us our warranty had expired. We called customer service in 2012 and 2014 to express our dissatisfaction with all the problems that continued. They had a log of all our calls and still did nothing to make the refrigerator function correctly. After spending $3,600.00 for a high end refrigerator and have a lemon at that, Electrolux took no ownership for their problems. In January of 2015, the ice maker stop functioning all together. The service tech advised us this past week, there have been over 9 updates of the model we bought and there have been numerous faulty issues from Electrolux. It seems that this is a common problem and there are many consumers with the same complaint with this appliance. Why cant we all pursue a Class Action Suit? There are some of us that remained quiet and didnt scream loud enough and now we have the consequence of a lousy functioning refrigerator. By the way, the display on the temperature started to disappear in 2014. The technician states I need to spend $1,000.00 to purchase 2 kits to bring my refrigerator up to par (and since DAY 1 it has never worked correctly). Also, there is no guarantee after 90 days something else will break. This was the worst purchase of an appliance we ever made. Today the customer service corporate manager failed to help us make this situation go away and failed to assist the consumer to feel right about a costly purchase that never worked. There needs to be a better way to alert the public about Electrolux quality. There are too many of us as unsatisfied consumers with the same flawed design refrigerator complaining about Electrolux not taking action on their substandard appliances and for NOT doing the right thing.
We purchased a Frigidaire side by side less than 2 years ago. Yes, I understand it is out of warranty, but when it caught on fire this weekend at 10 at night, I called a repairman to come look at it. Our model is FFHS2611LB4. We were informed that the water line was not sealed correctly at the factory. Also, the access hole is directly over the relay overload. I spent over $200 for the repair which is not much considering what could have happened if we were not home. Just got off the phone with customer service and of course they will not do anything. Was offering to give us 1/2 off on parts. That doesnt really help when it has already been fixed. I will not buy this brand again. Faulty merchandise and poor customer relations.
Have a $3000 fridge, not working and never worked right (Ice maker). Repaired 8 times so far. They will not admit it but RF 1207 is the issue. They over-engineered it and it is not a good ice maker. Never again Electrosuks!
I have a 3 month old refrigerator and it is not cooling. It is now three weeks without a refrigerator and no end in sight. They have no one that can service the unit and wont replace it. They are now on the second service person and he cant look at it for 20 days. I expect to be without a refrigerator for at least 3 months, this is just not fair. They should have just replaced it. Lets see. A 12 month warranty but the unit doesnt work for at least 3 months and I have renters that have no refrigerator. I will now not buy from Home Depot either because they wont exchange and they dont repair. I will next time buy from a company that sells and repairs what they sell.
I want everyone to know that these folks do not stand by their product even when you have paid extended warranty since 2011. They are telling me I have to live with ice buildup in the top front of the freezer and across the top and left side of the door. WHY. They have set me up with 2 service companies (GURU from Bonifay, FL). Tried 2 weeks and they were a no show. The last one was JC Appliance Dothan, AL Called twice and text them twice and they confirmed the appt Electrolux was suppose to have made nor did they answer the call when they tried to call them themselves. So they set me up with AL POWER in between those two starting first part of December, came back end of December and 2 weeks later came back and I still I have. Company says, There is nothing we can do. It is due to heat and humidity. BUT I have had this freezer since 2011 and have had 8 years of all SEASON and it just started building up last year. AND if that is it why is only in those spots and not the entire freezer. I have contacted BBB and they have contacted the company but all Electrolux had to do was let them know they contacted me NOT helping to fix the issue. I have been dealing with this since Nov 11, 2018. I pay them to have good service companies that know what they are doing and show up. Why do I have to accept an unacceptable results. They cant prove its humidity and I cant prove it isnt EXCEPT LAST YEAR WAS NOT THE FIRST YEAR WE HAVE HAD HUMIDITY. We are in the south, we always have humidity. I pray the good Lord with help me find someone that can point me into the direction where I can get help. BBB suggested contacting Atty General which I did (hope I did it right) but with the recent shutdown doubt I will hear anything. I will NEVER buy another product from them. They just dont care. I wished I could convey to everyone just how little they do care.
Electrolux is the worst product out there for refrigerators. Please do not buy one!! My refrigerator icemaker is broke and they will not give me a new refrigerator. It was a manufacturer error and they said that they are not going to fix it and I am not getting a new fridge. Now I am stuck with the refrigerator and a broken ice maker!!! They offered to give me a 10% coupon in the mail... Like I am really going to purchase another 5,000 fridge let alone from them!!! Don’t buy it from them!!! You will be sorry! I am so sorry I did.
We purchased an Electrolux refrigerator in 2008. Thirteen months later, the ice maker broke and could not be repaired. We were told that the warranty was over and that they would pay 1/2 toward a new refrigerator. Since we werent about to shell out $1,500.00, we complained to the Electrolux rep and he ended up getting us a new refrigerator. However, we have had seven service calls on that appliance in two years! First of all, the doors werent aligned, then there was a leak in the back of the unit because it was never sealed at the factory. A new ice maker was installed, then all ice compartment gaskets and housing were replaced, the freezer gasket was replaced, etc. Because of all of the problems, the company did give us a one year extended warranty.
Purchase a refrigerator less than 30 days ago to find it never worked right after 2 days. Home Depot has refused to take it back as it was over their 48 hour window. Frigidaire has taken nearly a month to repair it and there is still no ETA. It continues to run fighting to keep cool and fear the electric bill will be significantly higher.
I purchased a Electrolux refrigerator in Oct. 2014. From the moment we plugged the unit in we had issues. Initially the ice maker would not work and the filters would crack and freeze. First service call, they ordered parts and we had to wait for them to come back and replaced the ice maker and filter intake. Then the filters continued to crack and freeze, the ice maker would stop and the temperature always felt warm in the refrigerator with it even set at 33 degrees and food continually went bad. We bought an internal thermometer and the top shelf read 55 degrees!! Second service call, they had to order parts and we had to wait for them to come back, food continued to rot. They came back and replace more parts. The refrigerator continues to not stay cool. Third service call, now we are waiting on more parts to be replaced. We cant keep food, cant keep food in the refrigerator that will spoil. We have requested that the unit be replaced and Electrolux continues to send out repair companies and they dont even care about the amount of money we have wasted in food OR our time that this has taken to even take care of all these issues. I am very dissatisfied with this product and would never recommend an Electrolux Refrigerator to any consumer looking for a counter depth unit. My last refrigerator was 15 plus years old and never had one issue!! The only reason we needed to replace the unit was because we needed a counter depth for a remodel. After doing some research and reading several reviews, it looks like I am not the only one that has a bad Electrolux Refrigerator, and they are expensive LEMONS!
French Door $3,000.00 JUNK. Short story... Purchased one, 13 service calls in one year. Almost had to sue to get a replacement. Second one lasted 2 years, ice maker lasted 6 months. Moral of the story!!! Horrible service, horrible product. Looks good works bad. Its a shame to make a nice fridge that is an ABSOLUTE PIECE OF CRAP. Never again with Electrolux we went commercial...
I wanted a plain basic stainless fridge but a friend was getting rid of this Electrolux so I bought it. The red high temp light is on continuously, the woman at customer service, who was very nice, told me to turn breaker off to hard reset it. Now I have the power failure light on also! Especially now after reading all this feedback, I wish I would have settled on the Whirlpool I originally intended to buy.
After buying a Sears top mount refrigerator several years ago, which was made by Electrolux, we had a service technician confirm that we are missing the connecting drain tube that would have routed the dripping defrost water from the freezer to the drain pan. Because the leaking only occurred sporadically, when the freezer was defrosting, it took us awhile to figure out the problem. The insurance company for Electrolux, (Sedgewick), wouldnt look at our claim, however, unless it was verified by a Sears service tech at a cost of $96.00. We are measuring 1-4 oz. of water daily that we are forced to collect in a cup, and empty daily, to avoid any further damage to our cabinets and baseboards. The replacement part is approximately $50.00 with at least 4x that amount in additional labor to attach it.This is unacceptable; that part should have already been attached when we bought the refrigerator. We are already out $96.00 for the service call that accomplished nothing. I specifically indicated to the repair center the part that we needed and this information was never passed on to the service tech. When we documented our complaints to Electrolux, a very unhelpful, and unfriendly Claims Representative made it clear that there was nothing they would do for us. We understood that because of the age of the refrigerator they wouldnt replace it, or pay to repair our damaged baseboards, but we had hoped they would at least reimburse the service call. Rather than spend any more money on this refrigerator we are going to replace it and never buy another Electrolux product.
Purchase Electrolux French door refrigerator 3 years ago and have had nothing but problems on mostly all of the parts of the refrigerator. Have had computer panel replaced 2 times, the rubber sealing around the freezer door 3 times, the LED light 1 time, the compressor 1 time. These required multiple service calls using our extended warranty purchase approx $200+ per year. After 3 years of paying for the extended warranty I have decided to purchase a LG and hope for a better experience.Due to the multiple issues I thought they would have just replaced the refrigerator with a new one but was told they would have to have 3 repairs on the same part within a year in order to give me a new refrigerator. THE COMPRESSOR GOING OUT was my last straw. I will not purchase more coverage for 2019. DO NOT BUY. BOTTOM MOUNT REFRIDGE - ESA - Full Coverage. Term: 1 YEAR. Brand: ELECTROLUX. Model Number: EI23BC30KW. Serial Number: 4A42517637. Effective Date of Plan: 01/01/2019. Expiration Date of Plan: 12/31/2019.
Continuing the drama from April 2015. After talking to a channel of people with this company, writing several letters and sending endless photos to the higher ups in this company, I will end my fight with them. I have to continue monthly blow-drying the interior door of the freezer to on freeze the water line and the back of my refrigerator continues to rust because of water leakage in the back inner panels of the body in this unit. I believe that it was defective from day 1 but the drawers are the most flimsy I have ever seen and are completely broken. Stick with GE and Whirlpool. Signing off.
After four months the refrigerator broke. They made me wait two weeks before even offering a loan fridge. I had to call them and spend hours on the phone to come up with any solution (other than not having a fridge). They asked me to go without a fridge for four months because the part they needed was on back order. Bad products + bad service = really really bad company.
Electrolux Refrigerator Model EI26SS55GB0 - I purchased this refrigerator in September 2009. The refrigerator showed problems after I purchased the unit. The main first problem observed was the freezer and refrigerator temperatures were wondering. The digital display also had elements that burned out. The unit was out of the manufacturers warranty when this occurred. I had Sears come over to diagnose the unit and they said it was the interface board. This was in 2012 so based on other posts about their refrigerators I guess comparatively speaking I was doing pretty good. Anyway one month after the new interface board was installed the system started to wander in temperature again and would not stabilize. The Sears technician again came over and replaced the same board at additional expense. The display elements are still not working properly. The segments look like they are getting ready to burn out. We turn off the display to save this part. Now about a month ago the ice dispenser quit working. The issue appears to be the main board which is very expensive to replace. I called Electrolux and they offered me 10% off of the part; Really!!! The board is over $300. I have a friend who owns an appliance store. He told me that he has dropped the Electrolux line. I asked him why. He said when he sold their products he had a ton of circuit board problems. In fact he has a customer that has a similar problem that I had; the temperature wondering. He told me that his customer had a technician out 3-times to change out the board(s). Finally the third time appears to have fixed it however the previous times it went down - the food rotted in the unit and now has a smell that she cant get rid of. My friend is going to swap out the unit with another brand b/c he feels so bad.Anyway bottom line - refrigerators should last much longer than this. I was told Electrolux was a top notch product; NOT!!! Please stay far, far away from this brand. Youll do yourself a favor and avoid MUCH grief!!!
I purchased a new French door refrigerator in 2009. Since then I had the ice maker repaired or replaced several times and actually replaced twice. I still have problems with the unit. Originally the ice maker was a major problem. Now after having received the third unit the water dispensing mechanism is not working. You would think that after paying good money for a French door refrigerator, that it would last for at least 5-10 years problem-free. I will not buy from this company again.
We bought a side by side refrigerator in the summer of 2012. Upon delivery and install the ice maker was spewing out ice - crushed and regular ice all over my kitchen floor. We had to call a service person in to fix the problem. We had to call back a week or so later to have the machine fixed again for the same problem. At this time we realized we may have bought a lemon and added an extended warranty. I called for a part that had broken inside of the door at which time Electrolux said that they did not supply a warranty for that item. I read that they use refurbished parts also to repair their appliances. Someone should have told me this or I wouldnt have bought the warranty. The service call last year was just under $100.00 which I refused to pay since we had just bought it.I requested a refund from my extended warranty that went into effect August 7, 2013. I paid $185.90 and will only get $122.74 minus the $18.59 administer fees bringing the total refund to $104.14. This is crazy! I wish I had done research on this product, but didnt have the time. I will go to Lowes and let the service reps. know that this is a lousy brand and dont recommend it to their clients as well as writing a complaint on Lowes website.
I have a 6 month old $800+ upright Frigidaire freezer made by Electrolux, after less than 3 months it quit working, lost hundreds of dollars worth of food. Its now been in non working condition 3 months even after 5 service calls. This freezer has been sitting in my home in NON-WORKING condition for 3 months now. Electrolux agreed to replace it in August... The first date they scheduled this delivery on Sept. 8th, they never showed up or called. They again rescheduled for today, September 21st and now Im being told they cant deliver it today. Ive lost countless hours with customer service, hundreds of dollars worth of food, two days loss of work waiting for delivery of the replacement that didnt show up. Its the worse experience I have ever had with an appliance in my life. The customer service is even worse than the garbage products they sell! Run!
We purchased our Electrolux French door refrigerator (model EW28BS85KS5) 2.5 years ago. Within days of delivery the freezer door would not stay closed, contacted Electrolux and the service company. They recommended twisted the door to get it to close and said it was repaired. Few days later door is back to opening on its own. Another company was sent out who fixed the door. All the plastic around the doors is cracking off now. Electrolux is sorry. Now both ice makers have stopped working. The top ice maker seemed to jam so my husband reached in to clear the ice and received a shock. I called and talked to Jennifer ** the Corporate Supervisor and she advised me only parts are covered. She understands how I feel but I will need to contact 1 of 2 authorized service centers for the repair of the ice makers. Very dissatisfied, Do not buy Electrolux products. My old refrigerator looked new compared to this one and it was 20 years old.
Purchased very expensive two door stainless steel fridge from Electrolux 4 years ago - both doors have just started going rusty. Electrolux have told us we have to pay for a technician to come to our house and then they will probably not do anything to help us as it is out of warranty. We paid over $2500 for this fridge - do not buy from them. They are most unhelpful and sell faulty products. Our washing machine also stopped working in first 3 months - but that was under warranty - so they repaired it - after lots of headaches!
Updated on 09/03/2020: It is now September 3, 2020 and I have finally been able to write to 2 people at Electrolux (Mira and Melissa) about my Frigidaire Refrigerator issues. Even though I have been told the people I wrote would get back to me (5 days ago), I have heard nothing from anyone at Electrolux/Frigidaire. The staff refuse to provide contact information to anyone above Supervisor and Ive been at this since receiving this defective fridge in May 2020. I am frustrated that Ive spent so much money and wasted so much time trying to resolve issues that should not exist in a new product.Original Review: I bought a Frigidaire Professional refrigerator from HOME DEPOT who broke the door upon delivering it. They replaced it with another unit which was defective. The defective unit was replaced with a unit with defective parts again. Electrolux and HOME DEPOT insisted that it be repaired, not replaced. They sent out a tech three times then advised me that they approved a replacement weeks prior. That was on July 29, 2020. The (3rd) replacement was authorized on July 8 (without notifying me). It is now August 20, 2020 and I find myself once again on hold for over an hour to be told Sherine at HOME DEPOT cant find the information and cant help me that I need to call another dept.I called the other dept. who said I had to deal with HOME DEPOT.... Yes, I spent hours and hours calling these companies only to be placed on hold for hours and I am still having to wait for them to figure this out. My review is about the really long wait times on hold (today only it was 2hrs and 17 minutes in total), the fact that too often they dont know how to use the phone and say that there are phone system issues today. Too often they are rude and unhelpful. Consumers need to think long and hard about who they buy from. Too often big companies are buying the competition and limiting consumers options, then remove quality of service. Its time the consumer speaks up or stop buying crappy product from companies who dont care to provide care.
Ordered a new fridge freezer from Electrolux and expected delivery tomorrow. Unfortunately they have invoiced my supplier and lost my fridge so no new fridge freezer tomorrow! I telephoned Electrolux customer services... and waited... and waited... and waited. After over 10 minutes I decided too many people must be complaining about their dreadful service so I gave up, hung up and phoned my supplier to cancel. I have now ordered a fridge freezer from an alternative supplier... Electrolux? Never again!!
