Don’t know the exact model type but it’s a built-in unit as opposed to a counter top type unit. It’s installed on top of a GE oven. Have had no issues whatsoever since purchasing the house in 2008. Barely no maintenance required aside from the normal cleaning of the inside of it and even that is pretty easy.

I purchased this GE Adora dishwasher about 3 years ago from Home Depot and it cost about $550 which I think should translate into a well made dishwasher. I only run it about twice a week so it gets low use. On inspection this month I noticed the racks were already starting to rust and that there was a tear in the door gasket. I called the 800 number for GE consumers and they told me they could order me the racks for $200 a piece and that they would send out a repairman for $139 plus the $40 part. This is more than the dishwasher cost. They also told me I should have purchased the extended warranty and that this particular dishwasher has only a one year warranty. What happened to GE? My family has GE refrigerators for years without an issue and my dishwasher is already exhibiting problems after 3 years.

We purchased several new GE appliances in August of 2016 as part of a kitch
We purchased several new GE appliances in August of 2016 as part of a kitchen renovation. We bought the GE Cafe series dishwasher CDT865SSJOSS. Within two weeks of use, the display stopped working. It took 3 weeks to get a technician out to fix display. Approximately 6 months later, we noticed the dishes were not as clean. Two months later the water stopped draining. Called a technician in, he diagnosed a broken pump. Parts would take 3 weeks and he would be out a week later. We are now over a month without a working dishwasher. He “fixes” the pump but says it isn’t draining great because your hose from your disposal is plugged (this hose drains to the same place as the dishwasher). Hire a guy to unplug the drain ($140). It isn’t plugged. The whole house is clear. Have to Shopvac out the stagnant water from the dishwasher that smells like a corpse. Call our plumber to check the lines ($500). He discovers that the technician pushed in the washer and busted a line. We now have water damage through our floor and into a bedroom below. He confirms that the plumbing is all clear and also finds that the technician never reattached the pan to the bottom so water was hitting the sensor and activating the shut off for a leak. Plumber fixes plumbing wrecked by technician, dries the sensor and attaches the pan. He advises that we run several cycles to flush out the stagnant water. If water still is not draining after several cycles, he advised that the new pump was faulty. Plumber leaves. We get 10 minutes into a cycle and the dishwasher stops for a leak again. I called GE hoping they would stand behind their product that we have now had for 2 years and have used less than a year. GE does not stand behind their products. The only thing they will do is send out a technician that you have to pay $100 for and they can’t guarantee that you won’t get the same technician who has come out 3 times and cost us more money due to his negligence. In May, we will be putting their terrible product out on our curb for city wide garbage collection. You no longer get what you pay for with GE. Do not buy their products!

One of the most disgusting situations I have ever been in. I purchased a brand new home with all new GE appliances. I have since learned that a technician was sent out twice prior to our walk-through because the superintendent noticed the dishwasher wasnt working properly. I registered all my appliances online. The first time I used the dishwasher, it flooded the kitchen floor, causing the builder to have to repair baseboard and drywall. A technician came out and repaired it. I used it an additional two times and each time I did, it flooded my kitchen and a repairman came out. After the second time, I contacted GE customer care to open a case. The third time, I requested a new dishwasher and the customer care agent, Stephanie, stated that my new dishwasher was a discontinued model and so she suggested one that was a slight upgrade. I agreed to this change and she informed it would take approximately 24 hours to have it approved. I have since talked to seven different people at GE customer care. This was started when a company called Barlows Distributing showed up unannounced at my front door approximately hours after my discussion with GE. They said they were here to install my dishwasher. I was rather shocked, said the timing was impressive, and let them in the door. After they had drained the water standing in the then current dishwasher, they started to put in a replacement. I looked at the box and realized they were placing the same model in. I told them that was unacceptable, because according to GE, I was being approved for a different dishwasher. I then told the tech to stop installing it and called GE. GE had no idea where this dishwasher had come from. Then an unavailable number showed up on my cell phone and when I answered it, the woman spoke my first name and started talking about my dishwasher, stating the builder had ordered a new one. I asked her who she was twice and she would only tell me GE customer care and not her name. I have since learned her name was Julianna. She said that I had to take this dishwasher or I wouldnt have one at all. I took this as a threat. After spending countless hours on the phone with GE opening a case and discussing the issues, picking out an acceptable replacement, I was then told the builder made this decision. Not only was I thrown from person to person over a discontinued model, I was threatened, and further was told by the superintendent of construction that once the dishwasher was installed and we closed on the house, I had to handle all problems through GE. I own the dishwasher, not the builder. I registered the warranty, and I handled it through the proper channels. I feel I need an explicit apology from GE. One of their arms doesnt know what the other arm is doing. During this entire time, I had little use of my right hand and seven fractured vertebrae (for which I am permanently disabled) and had to physically wash 10 boxes of dishes that had been packed up due to our move and stand while doing it. GE has caused me property damage, stress, and severe physical pain, yet threatens me and yanks me from person to person. This is my house, my dishwasher, and this matter should have been handled directly with me, instead of inviting someone into my house that I had no connection to or knowledge of. The really sad thing is that I just purchased and had installed a $6500 water softener and reverse osmosis system for the whole house, manufactured by guess who...GE.

Almost immediately after purchasing the GE microwave we started having problems with the circuit board. It is now totally on the blink after only 4 years. This was a high price appliance. Sometimes when setting the timer on 30 seconds, the microwave would still be running and after looking at the timer it would still have 4 or more minutes left to cook. This is a FIRE HAZARD! We have lost food from timer malfunctions. This is a product I would be afraid to purchase. I am wondering why cant there be recalls on these cheaply built defective microwaves since you read of the same malfunctions over and over. GOODBYE GE!

I bought a whole line of GE Monogram appliances for our home in late 2005.
I bought a whole line of GE Monogram appliances for our home in late 2005. These appliances are not even seven years old and I have had the side-by-side fridge repaired several times with no true fix to the problem. They charged me to repair the tank in the fridge that the water line leads out from and into the freezer door. Another repair man said that was never the problem and that the seal on the freezer door is broken from inside the door (a common problem) and freezes up the water line, so no filtered water comes out. They wanted to charge me $800 for a new door with no guarantee that it won’t happen again! My cook-top downdraft has shorted out three times because of a faulty design issue. Water and moisture can get up under the switch, which shorts it out. There were three different repairs for the same issue. Last time the same service man repaired the problem and he was so careless. He got silicone all over the granite counters and switch, which he didnt check before leaving! I called him back to my house before he even got out of the neighborhood. Ultimately, he admitted he screwed up and ordered me yet another switch. Now, just today, my Monogram dishwasher started billowing black smoke. I called GE to find that the unit has been recalled for electrical shock and fires. They said I could have it repaired (if the service man deems it repairable) or it’s $400 towards a new unit. Is this company for real? How many consumers do they have to lose before they wake up? If I werent home my house could have burnt to the ground or, worse, one of our kids or us could have been severely hurt or worse. Do they not realize the liability they would have at that point if the worst would have happened? And they have two phone numbers and my address on file. Why on earth would they not contact me to tell me of the recall? Are they holding their breath and crossing their fingers that nothing too bad will happen? I have a Whirlpool fridge/freezer that is 18 years old and in my garage; nevertheless, it has never given me an ounce of trouble. I will never buy another GE appliance again and will tell anyone I know the same, including the several new home builders I work with. There are too many other companies out there that will back up their quality products. I have called into GE on my latest problems. And if I dont get satisfaction (i.e., brand new units), I have no issues contacting the attorney general. There are forms online that can be downloaded so a formal complaint can be filed. I urge anyone else to do the same.

Our microwave is of poor quality. Unit failed completely after a couple of years in use, like many GE products. This GE unit had a large rotating platter and easy controls, but it just stopped operating one day. Nothing could get it going again, so we replaced it with a Samsung microwave which appears to function well (only a year into use, so no way to know yet) although platter is smaller and controls not as convenient.

My GE dishwasher came with my new Miller & Smith house. Its 2 years old. The bottom tray is rusting in several spots and you cant open the door while in operation to add an extra dish. When you open the door the dishwasher should pause while you add the dish, but this one continues working as if the door was closed and water sprays everywhere. I understand the one year warranty (they must know their products do not last long). Their support line tells me my options are to get it repaired ($99.95 for a tech to come and diagnose, then additional charges for parts and labor to install the parts on the next visit). The bottom tray is ~$125. I found their customer service rude, unsympathetic, and bothered by my questions. I was also told to go their website and review the rebate offers on a new dishwasher. I wanted to understand that program better, but the customer service agent did seemed uninterested to help me.I was quite surprised in getting this poor quality product and poor service from GE. Im not going to bother with repairs, because the cost at least $300, so I will opt to put that money in a different brand. I was considering giving GE another chance and taking them up on their rebate offer, but after reading all these other reviews, I certainly will not. The time I spent writing this will very likely have no impact on making GE change, but maybe put a tiny dent in their reputation and they will get one less sale from me.

We have had our GE Advantium for 4+ years and the paint has started to peel off the inside of the door. We have an extended warranty with Home Depot but they deem this a cosmetic issue which is not covered. The cost to replace the door (part only) is about $260. Not sure self-painting is safe. I read here that we are not alone in GE microwave paint peeling off inside their microwaves, in general. Has there been any recall or calls action against them for this shoddy product? We love having this microwave/oven but feel like we got hosed by GE and Home Depot.

First, I want to acknowledge that I misplaced my receipt due to a move, 8 storage units and 4 houses. But...I did register my new, never before installed dishwasher when it was installed October 2020. After install I ran it empty to test/clean it. IT LEAKED. I called GE to schedule repair. I was told it was manufactured in 2018 (another said 2019) and it was not under warranty. I explained I purchased it only a few months before and installation was delayed due to my contractors. They said I would have to pay for labor but the parts were covered under warranty. I didnt like it but agreed because I couldnt find the receipt (from a big box store).Local repair people came, after 2 more calls, 3 weeks later and fixed the leak. They did not run or check if anything else was wrong with the dishwasher. I began using it and quickly realized that it did not get the dishes clean. It does not heat the water, it does not dry, it cant possibly sanitize without heat and kitchen installer said it was missing the kick plate. Geez!! And this is just the things I know!! I have called 4 times now to schedule a service repair, each time having to explained the whole thing, sit on hold, ask to speak to a supervisor, be transferred to customer service and 4 times I have been DISCONNECTED!! I bought all GE appliances so they would match but I would give anything if I didnt have to deal with GE again!! Unfortunately, I will have to call again Monday or buy a different brand. Save yourself and buy another brand!!! Wish I could submit a picture.

Purchased the Maytag MDB7749SBM stainless steel dishwasher in December 2013. The dishwasher and install totaled $700, which for that price and with Maytags past reputation, I wrongly assumed that the dishwasher would last a long time. In May 2016, slightly over 2 years, the dishwasher started having issues with the control panel. The control lock would randomly activate. I would have to reset the circuit breaker daily, leaving it off for around 10 minutes. Even with trying to go through all the steps to resolve the issue, resetting it from the circuit breaker, sequence on the control panel, the dishwasher wouldnt work. I called Maytag and after 40 minutes on hold, they finally answered. They wanted $89 for a service call and for the $143 part, plus labor. Might as well just replace it with another brand like GE, or Samsung.

I guess my GE Profile dishwasher is a lemon. Sounds like it from all the other reviews. Same deal - purchased it in July of 2016 and by October 2016 it went out. Technician that was sent told me it was the electric and I needed to have an electrician fix the fuse. Electrician came out and said it had electric, that it was the dishwasher that failed. Next technician fixed it and said the electronic panels get confused. Three days off of work. December, 2016 the dishwasher failed again. Had no dishwasher throughout the holidays. They scheduled service technician and then cancelled because the one technician they had was out sick.Today, January 9th, they called to let us know they were on the way, but never called the number they were supposed to, so now we are totally taken off the schedule. Ive been on hold and disconnected three times and now have been on hold for one hour and 6 minutes. DONT BUY GE APPLIANCES - Terrible service and crappy appliances that dont work. This is really sickening since I have ALWAYS used GE appliances.

I just found the site for the review on 5/17. Ive had two GE Cafe microwaves model CVM2072SM3SS purchased at the same time for the two kitchens in the house. The microwave in the in-law suite lasted one year and I replaced it with a very economical one which has been fine for 3 years. The electrician could not repair it. The microwave in the main kitchen is 5 years old but it stopped working (same issue of frozen panel) after 4 years. In Nov. 2016, during Thanksgiving weekend, it froze and stopped working. I looked on YouTube and we cleaned the terminals in the panel using alcohol. That worked for 2 months. When it stopped again I tried the same remedy but it did not work. The panel lights up, but it will not respond to any commands. After 7 months of it being inoperable, I decided to either fix or replace it (while using a way cheaper GE from a friend). This is an abysmally poorly engineered VERY expensive microwave. The LED panel is a disgrace! Do not buy CAFE microwaves. Im out $1500+ (for two) plus the replacements, the aggravation, the ugly looking counter with the loaner from my friend. I am ready to bite the bullet and buy a microwave that fits the style of my kitchen. It wont be a CAFE! Although it is a set... Enough is enough. I give up.

We purchased our new GE Over-the-Range Microwave (model HVM1750DPWW, 1.7 cu. ft.) for $269.00 in February of 2012 and in August of 2013 it started to malfunction. Specifically the microwave would start on its own whenever we would OPEN the door. Now the microwave does not work at all (with the door closed or open). Based on the feedback that I have read in some of the posts on this site, I will replace the microwave since the maker can no longer be trusted to manufacture units that are robust and safe. But what manufacturer can be trusted at this point? It is my understanding that all microwaves (from all major companies) are currently made overseas with poor materials and highly suspect safety and quality standards. (Note - previous GE Microwave [same type - over the range] lasted for 14 years.) Thanks to Consumer Affairs for allowing us to post unfavorable reviews.

We went on GE.com to inform them of this issue and am waiting for a response. I see here that I am not alone. There is other info being shared on YouTube about this issue as well. Greetings fellow GE Appliances fans! I suppose youre all wondering why I gathered you here, so let me first say this wasnt Plan A, which was to give GE Appliances a quiet and fair opportunity to set things right. After all it is Easter and we should all be grateful for second chances or, in GEs case, fifth chances. Now about halfway through the below some of you are going to wonder why I didnt switch to another brand sooner, but Ive saved that answer for the end because, quite frankly, its the absolute best part of the story. And since most stories have a hero Ill tell you why The Home Depot, where we purchased the GE dishwasher, is the hero of this tale.On Feb 16, 2019 I purchased a new GE Dishwasher which was installed by GE. It subsequently overflowed causing approximately $18,000 in damage to the wood floors in our kitchen and our basement ceiling. GEs technician confirmed the cause was a defective factory drain pump and documented that GE was responsible for the damage. I was instructed to contact Sedgwick, their insurance claims administrator. Well have more on that later. On March 9 I received a 2nd GE dishwasher which also had the drain defect and subsequently overflowed and caused additional damage to our home. I hired an independent plumber who confirmed the installation and home plumbing were fine and that it was, in fact, a defect with the dishwasher. On March 15 I received a 3rd GE dishwasher, however it was damaged during shipment so GE was unable to install. On March 22 I received a 4th GE dishwasher which also had the drain defect, but we caught it in time to prevent another overflow. On April 3 I received a 5th (yes, 5th) dishwasher which worked once (or so we thought) but as it turned out also had the drain defect. We caught it in time to prevent another overflow. We also had an independent plumber confirm (again) there were no issues with the installation or our home plumbing. This included disconnecting the dishwasher drain hose from the garbage disposal and pointing it into a bucket. The dishwasher simply would not drain. At this point youre probably thinking how stupid it was for me to keep requesting replacements from GE and you would be correct...which brings me to my favorite part of the story. You see, even though GE refused to switch me to an entirely different GE model dishwasher line despite multiple requests, they promised to compensate us for our inconvenience which would take into account how long we went without a dishwasher (approaching two months now), how much work I missed (numerous vacation days) due to installation and repair appointments, and warned me that if I switched to another brand that their policy was to not compensate.I cant tell you how much they repeatedly emphasized the compensation aspect, so when we finally received what we thought was a working dishwasher I called to request compensation. Their offer was (drum roll...) $25.00. I literally laughed out loud (LLOLd). To be fair, after expressing some slight dissatisfaction with their offer, they raised it some but its not worthy of an additional drum roll.Fast forward to today (Apr 21, 2019) and we still have a defective GE dishwasher in our home and are still washing dishes by hand which, for a family of four, is no small daily task. GE was actually supposed to remove the dishwasher from our home yesterday, but arrived and said they couldnt because our replacement dishwasher (a Bosch...we gave up on GE) had not arrived. They already knew this before they came because: 1. We told them and; 2...wait for it...THEY were the ones supposed to deliver and install it. Weve been courteous, patient, and have done everything GE asked, but have been treated very poorly in return. I will say that most, but definitely not everyone I spoke with at GE Appliances, was polite however none of them seemed to be empowered to truly help us.As for Sedgwick (GEs insurance claims administrator): were still waiting for them to pay for the approximately $18,000 in damage to our home. Our wood floors are turning black and theres now a musty smell in our finished basement. Its been approximately 52 days and Im starting to doubt theyre ever going to pay for the damage to our familys home.Im sure some of you will say youve had GE products for years with no problems, so let me say that Im genuinely happy for you. We were, and somewhat reluctantly still are, a GE family. The last three custom homes weve built, including our current home, all had GE appliances by choice. But in the last five years weve had the original dishwasher in our brand new home break in just three years (heating element) which is what started this replacement debacle, the fan motor on our brand new refrigerator break in just four years costing us several hundred dollars in groceries and a $200 repair bill (and its starting to make the same loud noise again so may fail again soon), and a glass defect in the microwave within two years of purchase. As for the hero of this story, The Home Depot, I simply cant say enough good things about the store and their management team. Even though this was not their fault they apologized, agreed to switch us to another dishwasher brand, and paid the difference in price (even though we volunteered to pay the difference ourselves). They made it clear we were valued and said you are our customer and we are going to help you.GE must have known The Home Depot would do this, because GE is the one who told us to call and suggested The Home Depot might do something for us...something GE apparently wasnt willing to do themselves. For now it seems that GE Appliances not only mistreated our family, but The Home Depot as well. Im not suggesting that you should or should not buy GE appliances, but IF you do and IF its defective and IF it damages your home then buckle up. It may be a long, painful, and stressful ride with no end in sight.

Last year in November while we were sitting in our living room and watching TV around 11:00 PM, we first smelled smoke and then noticed fire under the countertop above dishwasher. Luckily, we were awake to put fire out and disconnect dishwasher. This was all stainless steel, top of the line Profile dishwasher, part of our all Profile line. The next day I called GE customer service only to learn that dishwasher was recalled and that we were never informed about it. Very generously, they offered to replace our unit with equal top of the line PDT750SSF0SS. Instead of taking them to cleaners, as my lawyer suggested, I was stupid enough to accept this offer. A week later, dishwasher arrived but straight out of box, the door was damaged and it was full of water for some reason?! Another week passed by and finally this piece of junk was delivered. This December of 2014, just 3 weeks out of 1 year warranty, dishwasher stopped drying dishes. I called customer service and when they learned that I never purchased extended warranty, they told me to hitch hike. They offered me special customer service number which I called, they placed my name on the list, and never called back. This is the worst company I ever had to deal with, the worst products hands down and the most horrible customer service. If you dont take this post seriously and do not run away from GE, I guarantee you will be writing one of these posts, few days after warranty expires. I have reason to believe that these machines are somehow programmed through their computer to stop operating after warranty is out. Monday comes, I am calling DA office and filing claim against this predatory company. BUYERS BE AWARE!!!

Bought a GE Dishwasher on March 31st 2017. Used it in April & May, left June 1st for the summer so dishwasher was not used for 2 mo. Tried to use it in August when we got back it didnt work. Would not pump water. Called GE. They sent a service tech. out, replaced the pump, still didnt work. So next week they came out again & this time ordered a Computer board. Ever since then they have came out twice a month to repair dishwasher. Always something different. I requested 3 different times to have it replaced they refused. So I straight up asked if they were just trying to run me out of warranty & then drop me. Well, guess what - they came out for the last time on 4/5/2018 to repair it for the last time out of warranty. They turned me down every time to just replace it. WORST PRODUCT EVER. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER, POOR POOR POOR.

We purchased all GE Profile appliances when we built our house 4 years ago. The dishwasher, for the second time, has turned itself on and melted everything inside and got smoke in the house before we discovered it. I am afraid to have it repaired for fear that it will happen again when we’re not home or asleep. There seems to be a lot of people having this problem, yet I do not qualify for any recall that I can find. I am disjointed in GE to say the least.

Purchased new home and bought GE Monogram package. Within 6 months dishwasher started leaking bottom of door. After five repair service calls. (Thats 10 times waiting for service man or for parts to be stalled). The final repair killed the dishwasher dead and GE replaced it with a new Monogram dishwasher. I thought all was working fine but then this new dishwasher developed a leak underneath and the sensor shut it down completely. Service call made to GE and a GE service man came, only he couldnt get to the leak area because he couldnt pull the dishwasher out because the connecting water hose was being stretched so tight he said he couldnt disconnect it because he couldnt see behind the unit or the drawers to see where it was hung up. Plus he is not authorized to install or reinstall dishwashers. So I call GE repair and now have spoken to the most uncaring, dis concerned case manager handling my account. He tells me that this now a installation problem and that even though GE delivered the dishwasher and installed it that because these were outside venders they (GE) were not responsible for the installation and dont know if they used GE standards to install it. So because the GE service man couldnt move the dishwasher I now needed to get a plumber to disconnect the dishwasher, find out what the problem is with the installation, coordinate a service call date with GE service to then come out and put in the parts, then have a plumber back in to install the dishwasher again. GE will reimburse me up to $125 for the plumbers work and I have to submit the plumbers invoice. No guarantee that a leak will happen again, because the GE service man cant even run a test on the replacement parts because the dishwasher isnt hooked up to water and he cant do that because he isnt authorized by GE to install. Oh, the dishwashers warranty ended on 10/10/2015. My service call went in three days before it was to expire so service is covered for the leak (or so I have been told). But what will breakdown next with this appliance? I bought GEs top of the line package. I bought a MADE IN USA appliance and I can honestly say that this GE appliance turned out to be unreliable, unrepairable and their case managers uncaring. I will never ever, ever buy another GE appliance. I will never recommend any GE appliances to anyone ever. My KitchenAid lasted for 26 years without a service call. When I remodeled my kitchen I purchased a Bosch dishwasher. That pleasure was 13 years old when we sold our home. We have been in this new home for 1-1/2 years and now on my second dishwasher with a future of many service calls ahead and very bad taste for GE. If this leak problem is not fixed or another problem arises, I will yank this dishwasher out and buy another brand. A reliable one and definitely not a General Electric EVER! Since this GE Monogram package was purchased at P.C. Richards they will also be notified of my displeasure and I will continue my discourse of GE forever for their lack of product truthfulness and quality, plus consumer disregard.

Within a year and a half of buying a new construction condo, the GE microwave fan stopped working (used the condo for no more than 30 days). I read all these complaints and am not surprised. My experience with Kitchen Aid appliances (refrigerator, microwave all junk) is no different than this. If I were to replace any of my appliances, I will not buy an American brand because they are all made in some other country with very poor quality control for very high profit and low quality goals. No choice for now, other than to get it repaired. At least, it provides employment, but what a way to create employment. I would never work for such companies.

Our Profile over-the-range microwave failed after 2 years. (Warranty was for one year!) One day it suddenly died. The repairman ($100) said repeated twisting of the wire from the oven to the door (which contains all the electronics) is inevitable with opening and closing. The wire often breaks within its insulation: a bad design fault. No question of replacing the wire; we would have to order a new door, for nearly $400 plus $200 for installation, which requires 2 service technicians. This is more than the cost of a new OTR microwave. He advised us to get one with the controls beside, not in the door. Unfortunately GE is the only company that makes a microwave in the same colour as our range.

If my wife puts my dinner the refrigerator and I take it out and put it into the microwave if the dinner has let’s say pork chops, mashed potatoes, peas everything gets cooked except the mashed potatoes. They’re always cold and sometimes the peas will pop. There’s never a good medium for all foods at once and if you have any bread or biscuits you have to take it out after 15 seconds. The same goes with turkey cranberry stuffing and other things that go on the plate at Thanksgiving. Some stuff gets very hot. Some stuff stays cold.

I recently purchased a GE Profile 1.9 microwave oven from Home Depot less than a year ago. Last week I went to remove something that I had cooked and went to close the door and it would not stay shut. I ended up getting some masking tape to try and tape it shut in order to keep the light from staying on and burning out until morning when I could get a better look at it, thinking that it had to be something small that could be taken care of without any problem. Hinge adjustment, something getting in the way that I couldnt see, etc, etc. Wrong! I have been over this door with a fine tooth comb and there is nothing that I can see that is preventing it from staying closed, not only that but according to everything that I have read, I am very lucky that I didnt get fried while trying to figure out if the latching mechanism was functioning correctly. I am not even going to go through the long drawn out process of dealing with GE over this due to the simple fact that I have been there done that with my dishwasher that showed up with the front panel dented a few years back from the factory and I ended up blaming the place that I had purchased it through instead of GE and have since found out by reading other complaints that this seems to be something that is not unusual when it comes to GE appliances. I spent over 1100.00 dollars on the dishwasher and they only replaced the panel instead of giving me a new one, and I have never been satisfied with the way that it operates, and it was a very long and drawn out process and I am just not willing to spend the time again on another one of their products. It is unfortunate that we have entered a time where customer satisfaction means nothing, and the days of caring about having repeat business from a satisfied customer are over. The prices continue to rise on the things that we have become to depend on and cant seem to live without, but the quality and workmanship have not only diminished but also present safety threats. I will never purchase another GE anything and I am looking forward to the day when we all have finally had enough of this and do something that makes these companies stand behind the products that they sell and quits ripping the consumer off. Its rampant across the board no matter what you buy, and there should be laws in place in order to keep it from happening. We have laws for everything else, why not have a couple that protect the consumer and their pocket books.

I purchased a GE dishwasher on March 15th 2018... The first dishwasher I received on March 23rd was obviously broken. The dishwasher setting piece was completely broken off and the sides were dented and looked like it had been dropped. Ok. The delivery guys immediately called it in and reordered another one for me. A week later the second dishwasher came, it looked fine from the outside so I signed for it. Once I opened it I saw that the top rack was missing wheels and the second shelf wasnt even connected to the dishwasher. I called and a week later they came and got it and left a new one. I asked the delivery guys to unpackage it and look inside. Immediately the top arm cycle fell off and the HE symbol at the bottom popped out. They assured me that was normal... When the install guy arrived a week later he said he thought everything looked ok. He ran a cycle, then left. Before he was out of my driveway the cycle arm/water sprayer fell off and water sprayed everywhere... I brought the piece into Home Depot and they told me it was broken (duh) and they would order a new one. NO. This was going to be the fourth time I will be taking off work to deal with this dishwasher! GE is absolutely gone down. The products being produced are either being sabotaged by the employees from the Ohio plant, who are all losing their jobs because the plant is about to get shut down and is going to be moved to Mexico or GE is absolutely horrible at business, design and producing quality appliances.Regardless, I will NEVER purchase a GE product again and would never recommend to anyone to purchase a GE appliance! I am going to get a refund and insist compensation and inconvenience fees! I had to take off work 4 Times, had to cancel plumbers 3 times (still was charged). I lost money from my work, time from life and a month without a dishwasher. Also, a month with a broken one sitting in my living room because they wouldnt come get the 2nd and 3rd broken dishwashers until a I ordered another one and had that one delivered before they got the broke one(s) out of my house. I had broken dishwashers sitting in my living room for a month. Easter was quite embarrassing with an appliance next to the table to say the least. DO NOT PURCHASE GE APPLIANCES!!!

My GE Profile dishwasher is now 4 years old and Ive put up with it not cleaning well. For the last 3 years, I get a cloudy gray film over the dishes and finally figured out what is happening!! There is a gray rubber/plastic border around the bottom screen piece that has all the holes in it and covers most of the bottom of the dishwasher. I gently scraped with my finger and lo and behold its like gray putty!! So, the whole border of this gray rubber/plastic is disintegrating!! I had a 4 year warranty from Sears and they sent out a repairman. He is just going to order that whole screen part and replace it. He scraped the rubber and it came off for him too!! He said he never saw that before. He said it is probably the fault of my detergent which comes from health food stores and NOT the Cascade that they promote. Anyway, now I know where the gray film is coming from... Weve probably been consuming this for 4 years, a little at a time (NOT GOOD)!!! Im not thrilled with Cascade either!! We have had this microwave GE JVM1631wb007 (2003) for a number of years installed above our stove. It was given to us by my husbands son so we did not have it registered with GE as owning it. However, I just sent an email to GE today asking for help as I find absolutely nothing on the internet about a scorched outside microwave door. We have had no issues with it whatsoever - until now. When we returned home from a one week vacation this past Sunday evening, we came home to a scorched OUTSIDE door on this microwave! The inside is fine. The two people who came into the house while we were gone said they did not use it but it is DEFINITELY scorched around the entire area on the outside around the screen area. I refuse to use it although my husband (who is an appliance repairman but does NOT work on microwaves) says its fine to use. Its not only hideous, it LOOKS unsafe to use. Im scared its going to catch on fire but my husband says dont worry and go ahead and use it! Im attaching a pic of it... Anyone else heard of this? Its not like we dont have the money to replace it. Periodically my GE Profile Dishwasher will not clean well. On every occasion it is due to clogging of spray ports on the upper and/or lower spray arms. Removing the blockages is nigh-on impossible as it is often not possible to extract the blockage from the outside and its not at all possible to flush the blockage back down the arm to extract it at the centre. All that is required is a bit of forethought and the creation of some access to the arm. I was frankly surprised to not be able to find a replacement arm as the suggested solution to this problem, the additional part revenue being part of GEs the business model. There are a number of other design issues with the assembly at the bottom that make me think it was done by an intern and nobody checked her work at the end of summer break before it went into production.

The cost has been shifted to me or they suggest buying a new dishwasher for only $150 over retail. Great microwave when the thermostats are working. Have gone through 4 in 2 years. I have convection/microwave. This is a great oven, and microwave. The failing parts should be something GE corrects. Service contract was purchased after 2nd needed repair. Their contracted service was awful. No communication, mis-scheduling, unavailable parts, Poor customer service. Have officially requested with GE not to have this contractor assigned to correct any problems in the future.

Purchased my first GE dishwasher 3 -4 years ago, it died, one month before the warranty ran out, they sent a repairman at no charge, acted like he did not know what he was doing, mumbled something about a part and left saying they would return with a part 2 weeks later he comes back and says that they cannot fix it and they sent me a replacement dishwasher free of charge, 13 months later and it died, So I bought a more expensive GE dishwasher thinking it would last, wrong, 15 months later and its dead, went to parts select and troubleshooted it, ordered all parts recommended to fix the issue and its still dead, these parts cost me 300, so I contacted GE to see what they had to say, no help at all except to only charge me for 50% of parts, I have to pay for house call and labor and installation, gee what a deal NOT bottom line, GE dishwashers are junk, dont buy them.

First, as a new homeowner blessed with select builder-provided appliances, I never imagined I would be authoring this letter 4 months after closing on the new home. Your friggin’ microwave oven light mechanism truly sucks! I lost the two bulbs a week or so ago and purchased two more at the cost of approximately $10, even though a one-year warranty was stated. That was okay, as I was more interested in fixing the problem versus starting some long-range purchase interest. So, and this is the most aggravating aspect, I have the correct pins and life is ** good, and as I attempt to insert the first, the ** pin breaks off. Okay, so I reflect on the horrific engineering of the mechanism, and I softly” align the second of the two bulbs, and the ** pin breaks off again. ** is my predominant theme tonight. As well, believe me, I am going to inform Taylor-Morrison that their respective selection of your friggin’ lousy pieces of crap is corrupt and misguided. You suck, G.E.! I’m moving forward.

Cost of washer $749.95 plus 4-yr warranty, install and hoses, $273 equals $1,023 for this GE stainless interior tall tub dishwasher GLD8700N20BB that only lasted 6 years and 4 months. It wont run, wont fill with water, nothing. Six years. Time to buy again. My advice, buy a cheap one and replace it every 36 months and forget the extended warranty. Installed: Sept. 2009. Dead: Jan. 2016. This was a replacement to an LG dishwasher that completely flooded my kitchen and caused a total tear out of my kitchen, and my homeowners insurance took LG to court. That LG cost $42,000 for a new kitchen and months of contractors and work. Washing dishes by hand is looking better every day... Think about it.

We purchased a VERY expensive GE dishwasher (Re: Case: 13259178, Model: PDWT580V00SS, Serial No:MZ841691B) for over $1500 and IT DOES NOT WORK! It actually DESTROYS dishes! It leaves a thick detergent film on plastic cups and plates and renders them unusable. We have scheduled no less than FIVE technician visits and all of them refuse to indicate that the dishwasher is faulty and needs to be replaced or they would likely lose their job. All they say in their report is that the dishwasher is performing normally. So a dishwasher that DESTROYS dishes is NORMAL? GE is a $265 billion company. They have a customer that is infuriated with a faulty product that they will not replace. They are giving us the runaround and it is unconscionable. Any other consumer focused business would have replaced their product by now. Not GE. They have a huge infrastructure built to keep consumers from getting their products repaired or replaced correctly. This feels like Davey Vs. Goliath but we are going to prevail. My advice to all consumer is to NOT EVER buy a GE dishwasher, unless they like to have their dishes ruined.

I purchased a slate dishwasher in Oct, 2014. After the third cycle the soap would not dispense (door would not open) or the soap dribbled out and remained running down the door. I had to run the cycle twice to get the dishes clean and for the soap to dissolve. I called the store at which it was purchased. A tech came out and replaced a part. Did not work. After the second time, when the tech said nothing was wrong, even though he saw the soap running down the front door, I called GE. They sent a tech from a different store. After the eighth repair I told them I wanted it replaced. They had already replaced the soap dispenser twice, the control board and even told me to move the baskets (ridiculous). They also suggested I run hot water before the cycle! They said if it was repairable they could not replace it.We went back and forth with this and they finally agreed to replace it. Got the new slate dishwasher in July, 2015. After two cycles I started having the exact same issues! I will not deal with GE or ever buy another of their appliances. I will tell everyone I know not to deal with this company. Quality is terrible and service was extremely frustrating, having to take off work numerous times and wait hours for the service person. In the end, it never worked!

Excellent. The dishwasher cleans dirty dishes and dries them as I expect. We use all the features periodically, usually the RINSE & Normal wash daily. We rarely use the China setting, but we do use the pots and pans and hygienic features as well. We also occasionally use the delayed start feature. Our dishwasher is a decent size four our family for daily use and for large get-togethers. Our house came with a WHITE dishwasher, which were not totally fond of as a personal preference, BUT, its LOOK and design are fine by our standards. We have had a problem with the door catching on the screw that holds the dishwasher in the cabinet. Seems like a simple fix, but it hasnt been. Id like to see that problem go away for any dishwasher installation.

We purchased a GE over-the-range microwave oven last November 2010 and it was installed in February 2011 when our addition was finished. Last week, it decided to stop responding to instructions. When the door is closed, it just continues to run--the turntable turns, the light stays on and the fan keeps running. It will respond to instructions, but when we want to shut it off if the door is shut, we have to unplug it--which is a real pain because it is over the range. We have an old microwave that was my wifes parents and it still works fine even though it is about 20 years old. The new one stops working in a little more than a year which is not acceptable. We contacted GE and were told that we would have to pay over $100.00 to get the thing fixed. I dont think so. We will not purchase anything GE again.

My dishwasher broke within warranty in April 2014. The warranty expired on April 29th, 2014. Every 2 weeks another part was ordered to the tune of 10 parts and 8 visits (unpaid work days for me). I have been in touch with consumer relations about this and I was told that this would go on forever until their techs deemed the dishwasher as unrepairable but as long as it is repairable, they will not exchange the machine. And now they are telling me (October) that I could have had another service provider fix it but I would have to pay for it because NOW it is out of warranty. I cant wait until I replace my GE refrigerator and my GE microwave because those are the last GE products that I will ever buy. I went out last month and bought another brand as I will never buy GE again. GE protocol I am told is what determines all that happened. I suggest you do the same. I am writing a long letter to GE just to get it off my chest. Nothing will be done because its another corporation all about the money!!!!

I own a GE over the stove Microwave that spontaneously turned on while I was sleeping. Once the unit was running for a bit, it caught on fire. It melted thru the glass plate before I woke up and was able to remove power from the unit and stop the fire. To GEs credit, they did send a tech out to our place. The tech never did anything to find out what caused the problem. Instead he was just looking to see if the unit was salvageable. He condemned the unit, and GEs solution was a $25 rebate on the next one of their products I would purchase. The liability GE would have been up for if I were not home would have been astronomical. This appliance put my property and the life of my family and neighbors in danger. GEs inaction on this problem shows that they have no concern for the safety of the consumers that use their products. The HR response has been appalling.

It is in an area where nothing is rubbing or touching it. After taking photos and contacting GE customer service I was offered a discount on a replacement microwave. I expressed my concern that a new microwave might do the same thing--peel. I was told that the newer microwaves have a moisture resistant paint. The area that has peeled is much larger now than is shown in the attached photo taken in 2016. I might as well use the dishwasher as a drying rack. We had a service person come out before the warranty expired. We have used all of the proper cleaning recommendations and setting per the service person. Not even 2 years later, the dishwasher started leaking and ruining our hardwoods. The dishwasher was quiet but then started making a horrible noise and a burning smell emanated when door was opened. Unfortunately all of our kitchen appliances are GE. If we replace any of the appliances, they will not be GE. I will also be getting in touch with the builder of our home to let them know that GE appliances are not reliable. We moved into a new home in June of 2011 with the appliances already included. Ours came equipped with a GE, over-the-range microwave, model JVM1540DP1WW, manufactured in Malaysia, in April of 2010. Within several months, the revolving platter began to make a bumping noise while turning and then it eventually quit turning altogether. Five service calls later, we had the platter motor replaced, circuit board and four fan motors (apparently the platter has voltage supplied from that fan to make it run) and it still didnt work.It was taken back to the shop and eventually the problem was traced to a loose wire on a terminal connector. After a month of operation, it is again beginning to make the bumping noise while the platter turns. To top it off, Consumer Reports (the March issue) deals with problematic microwaves, especially the GE model and the unexpected fires that can occur. In addition, they can be susceptible to (not always however and only on certain models) wireless transmissions which could potentially cause them to start on their own. I know for a fact that it knocks off my XM Satellite Radio when it is running. Bottom line...its history and will be replaced with a check rated appliance before I too have a major problem.

We bought a GE dishwasher and a GE oven/micro combo. We were told that we would have them in a week but it took three and a half weeks to get them. The dishwasher was damaged/defective and did not work; water leaked all over the floor several times and dishes wouldnt wash. They would not replace the unit but insisted that they had to service it. A couple more weeks passed and the repairman had to return thrice to finally get it to work. The microwave had a bent door that did not lineup properly when closed. Again, another repair was scheduled and we had to experience another service call. I have never had a worse experience buying appliances than I had at Pacific Sales. Kwam, the manager does not return phone calls. He made promises of helping us with a discount because of our troubles but has not kept those promises. Their contract installers are inept and unkempt. My appliances do not seem new since they were repaired and the door on the microwave is still not lined up as a new unit should be.This experience was an unmitigated disaster that should not happen to any consumer. Installed 07/06/2015 While I was asleep on 12/09/18 the oven appeared to start microwaving an empty oven on its own. When I came down 5 hours later the microwave had no power. I opened door and turntable had melted and glass had exploded. The ring under it was burnt and melted in one location. Top of cabinet on right side was hot. Then the internal circuit breaker restored itself and started some recovery process making odd noises sounded like the magnetron was trying to run since the top was getting hotter, after a minute the internal circuit breaker shut it down again. I then unplugged it. It appeared the magnetron started heating on its own and turntable did not rotate. All of the heat was concentrated at 12:00 edge of glass turntable. My husband encouraged me to do my own research and guess what? shocking, I was lied to! There are reported fires on the news and a law firm has a class action lawsuit against GE! GE Stainless Steel Profile Dishwasher - My dishwasher is about 5 years old. Two years ago, we noticed that the gaskets, both around the tub and on the bottom of the door, were becoming gummy and rippling. We were hoping to make it another couple of years before buying a new dishwasher, but a couple of week ago, the top arm fell off because the gasket was so degraded. We ordered the appropriate parts and were only able to replace the top-arm gasket and the tub gasket. We had to call an authorized GE repairman, specifically RC Appliance in Sparks, NV. When he tried to get the gasket out, his hands turned black from the rubber. After about an hour of trying to get the new gasket installed, he had to use his pliers to crimp the gasket in place leaving large dents along the bottom edge of the door. He said the factory had crimped the old gasket in place at the factory from the other side. I am extremely unhappy about the workmanship and the fact that the gaskets did not last a reasonable time. I dont want to seek an attorney, but would rather GE contact me to discuss what must be done.
