We purchased our LG Refrigerator in October 2016. It is a French door with dual ice makers. We did love it but like so many others... our compressor broke and our food was ruined. No small expense. Because there is such a demand for replacement compressors I was told there was a back order on them and it took 10 days to get it fixed. Additionally, we cannot get the right fruit/vegetable bin (when facing the refrigerator) out to clean it without breaking it. The gentleman who repaired did get it out and broke it in the process. If anyone would care to shed light on this I would greatly appreciate it. I did read the manual and when you follow the directions, it jams against the door. Also, there in a clear plastic easy access door inside the main french door that catches and pulls open each time you open the main door. Our solution to this was to tape it shut. Lastly, the handle has a button to push to open to access milk and other beverages and apparently it is painted plastic not stainless steel like the rest of the handle because the paint wore off the first year... Looks pretty bad for a high end fridge.

I purchased my LG French Door freezer model number LFX25976 through Direct Buy during 2011. The bottom freezer abruptly stopped freezing and the refrigerator stopped cooling. However, the fan works. Was initially believing refrigerator had gone into automatic defrost but after two days of none cooling or freezing, my belief now is that the compressor may be the culprit. One year ago, same incident occurred but after several hours, my refrigerator began cooling and freezing again. Contacted LG during that time and was advised that it was common for the refrigerator to automatically defrost and does so without any warning. But this time it has been two days and my refrigerator has yet to begin functioning properly.

Our LG Top Loader WT5070CW washer has rusted around the bleach tray & all the way around top rim. Big chunks of rusted paint falls into the drum where the clothes are and in between the wash drum and the washer shell. I have never had a washer RUST like this before... Also the washer doesnt clean your clothes very good... And the smell of mold is a huge problem. Please read reviews on this product. I know I will always check these sites for reviews on all products before we buy them!

LG Lifes Good? LG - Laundrys Grubby - Just like everyone else, I am incredibly frustrated with my top-loading LG WT4801CW clothes washer (purchased from Home Depot). I spend more time and money redoing many loads of clothes because they just do not get clean and sometimes a streak of dirt is left on the clothes, so back to rewashing the same small load of clothes again and again. (There goes the water economy function of the washer down the drain). And my washer is also starting to smell (great). Based on everyones reviews, the machine should be breaking soon and at that point, I will give it the boot out of my laundry room.

LG French door refrigerator - I was reading Tony from San Antonios problem with his fridge and it sounds exactly the same for me. 22 months ago, I bought an LG refrigerator from Best Buy for $2400 and last week, it stopped cooling down enough to safely use. It cant get below 40-50 degrees. I didnt get the extended warranty so now I have spent another $400 on service calls and nobody can figure out whats wrong. They tried adding some Freon thinking there was a leak but now I am getting an error message on the front. If anyone has had a similar problem and figured out what to do to fix it, please email me what worked. Never again, LG.

My wife had purchased an entire Kitchen of LG appliances about a year ago with the Black SS smudge-proof finish - NOT INEXPENSIVE! We just noticed that the finish in a few areas is peeling on the refrigerator only. NOTHING in the way of a chemical cleaner has ever been used on any of these appliances, only soap and water. All of the other LG appliances with the same finish (microwave, dishwasher, gas stove) are perfect. She is extremely upset that we have taken so much care and spent so much money only to have this major appliance look like heck. Let’s see how LG stands behind a (14 month old) $3,000.00 PEELING FINISH on their French Door refrigerator. Best Buy already said too bad, nothing we can do!!

I chose LG because it was the best deal for the space I needed. I like the color and the double doors so I picked it up on sale. It looked nice in my kitchen. But the drawers could have been better constructed and better made. I was sometimes worried about the efficiency but I guess it never made the electric too high! The freezer could have been bigger but I might have just needed a second one. It worked for me while I was in that house. I liked the ice dispenser and the double doors had plenty of storage. It was always cold when I needed it to be. The ice was well formed and good shaped. The color was pretty and kept clean well.

I like the ice machine, water machine, double doors, Auto cooling, auto temperature, but it wasnt that special. It could have been better to me. The temperature never worked. It would get hot randomly. It would leave water. It would get really cold one day then hot the next. It was cheap and lasted only a few years. It would last longer the warranty was bettering dont like it. I wasnt a fan after the first year and it didnt have a for what Im paying for it. I could get a better fridge. It wasnt the best and I should have put out more money to get a better one. It was pretty low and to me it could have been higher and it could have been up to standards and to me it was not and some reason it didnt last more than 45 years and to me thats pretty low for your fridge raider. But it has a great warranty for the last at least 10-15 years. I didnt think it would crash so soon but it did. I should have put more time and effort let alone money into the fridge that I was purchasing.

I have a front load washer. I have no trouble with this machine, it’s easy to use, adjustable temperature controls which I like. Adjustable spin controls, excellent in spinning out, almost dry when I put them in the dryer, cuts drying time a lot. Takes only 20 to 30 min to dry large load. Impressive. Only one thing it has an extra water button for all cycles except for the speed wash cycle. Wish it had that. Regular wash is long which I don’t like. But washes great.

Happy with the way it performs. It is just every year, this being year 4, I have had to have a service technician come out and replace the whole pump assembly. The dishwasher starts squealing during the whole wash cycle. Not much at first, but after about a month of running almost everyday, it goes to constant. The noise is quite annoying. Like I said today is the 4th time I am having service for this issue. Thank goodness they offer the extended warranty. I will keep purchasing as long as they offer it. But seriously after purchasing a 800 dishwasher, I am still spending 100 for the extended warranty every year.

Updated on 09/10/2019: Update to my previous post. After a week of having the parts the Puls technician finally showed up and installed a new/different compressor than the original. Install went fine up to the point he told me it required a new software upload before we could plug in the refrigerator, which he has not received yet. Now another day has come and gone with no working refrigerator (two days after replacing the compressor). What a major undertaking this has been! I had to call on behalf of the technician to get the software ordered and Puls is telling me that it was LG that was the hold up. What a nightmare of an ordeal. You would think LG would know the software was a requirement and would have sent it with the compressor. Nope, no such luck! What horrible aftermarket support. Think twice before buying LG... Original Review: I have loved my LG fridge until it stopped working. I called LG and they asked a few question and figure out it was a closed system or compressor issue under warranty. They shipped me all the parts needed (good for LG) but Puls Technologies Inc. dropped the ball and did not have a tech show up as scheduled. So they told me it would be the next day, then they called back and said the soonest would be in three more days on Saturday. My question is, can I get a technician on my own and have them do the repair and send LG the bill? A week without a refrigerator is not a fun thing to deal with. After reading more on LG refrigerators, I see this seems to be an on going issue. Wish I knew this before I bought the fridge and an LG dishwasher. Lets just say, I wont be buying a matching oven and microwave from LG.

Bought the microwave from Walmart in 2019, used it without issue for about a year. Last night, I put something in to warm for 1 minute. (No metals etc of course.) And no sooner had the minute started I turned away, heard a huge grinding whoosh noise, turned back to see fire coming from the right side panel. It made the sound again, another burst of flame and I shut it off. I had the unit unplugged and set outside. I contacted LG with a pic of a clear burn mark on the right panel, explained what happened and they told me too bad, nothing they can do, try returning it to store. ALSO, they further accused me of exploding something in the microwave itself. This was the suggestion of a supervisor. I am appalled and surprised at how they handle this situation. I would seriously reconsider buying anything from them. This could have ended up so much worse than $150 down the drain.

Went to Lowes where I bought my LG refrigerator to buy a replacement filter and they said everybody was out of the water filter I needed. Sick of this, they told me the same story last year. They ended up giving me one of their filters from a demo on their floor after I insisted they do so. Im telling everybody NOT to buy LG cause of this problem. Model No. LFX31925ST/06 is the LG Refrigerator I have. This really sucks. If I had know this fact about LG not being able to replace filters for their refrigerator in a timely manner I would have never bought one. Like I said, Im spreading the news that LG cant replace your water filters.

Soooo got back from deployment and this $2500 paperweight had tripped the circuit breaker! That issue started within about 2 years after purchase. Its now been 3 years. They put in a new compressor which obviously solved nothing and refuse to repair the issue. If a fridge cant run by simply plugging it in, its useless! So, I came home to the stinkiest refrigerator Ive ever encountered! They also have a settlement for which my model number is included, but keep responding to me that it isnt. You wouldnt have came and installed a brand new compressor if that were the case!

We purchased our gas range from Home Depot. The first range had a gas leak and home Depot replaced it with the exact same. Down the road the knob for the oven head broken. I called LG and mentions the broken oven knob and also mentioned that we had smelled gas coming from the stove. They sent out a technician to fix the oven knob but not check to see if the stove was leaking gas. We experienced natural gas smells on and off in our kitchen. So then I decided to call again and then they sent someone out to check on the gas leak. It was leaking gas due to a manufacturer defect just like the very first stove. This gas leak had been going on for about 9 months. LG has horrible customer service, long wait times on the phone and they do not care that this natural gas that has been leaking from their stove has caused health issues for all of our family members. The health issues that we as a family have experienced are lightheadedness, burning eyes, headaches, ringing of the ears, flu like symptoms, breathing problems and chest pains. After the repair of the gas leak we called LG to let them know we do not feel comfortable with having their gas range in our home after this being the second one that has been leaking natural gas. They did not care. They did not show concern. They were not willing to provide a new unit. The care of this company is not about the well-being of their customers. We have also had trouble with the refrigerator and dishwasher being stainless steel having rust on them. I did also bring this up during the phone call but they said thats not their problem. Not sure how you can call something stainless steel put your name on it and then say its not your problem. All of these experiences that we have had with our kitchen appliances happened within the first year we bought them. I hope this helps others make a informed decision on purchasing LG products.

I purchased this refrigerator in April, 2017. In August, 2018 the refrigerator and freezer stopped working on a Thursday. A tech guy came on Monday and said it was the compressor and installed a new one. It still did not work. He came back and said there was a leak in the coil and he would be back on Friday. He installed the new coil and it still does not work. This is now over a week and I still do not have a working refrigerator. He is supposed to come back again tomorrow, Saturday, to do what? Be aware that the LG front end load washing machines model WM0642HW only last 5-7 years compared with top load washers 10-15 years. My wife & I made a major error by purchasing our first front end load washer that broke after 5 years. Previously for the past 30 years we have had 2 Maytag top loaders (15 years each). Specifically, the horizontal pressure on the wash tank bearings results in the failure of the bearings and the rotor assembly. These are parts that total nearly $100.00. However, the service requires at least 3-4 hours of repair, which is nearly $500.00. In summary, never purchase a LG front end load washer.

LG notified me to contact Home Depot for them to fix it or just buy spray paint to cover the rust. Home Depot stated it is a defect, that LG needs to repair it if not replace it due to defect product. After making numerous calls, I have come to the point neither stands by their product. I have an LG front load fairly new machine and I absolutely hate it. I loved the fact its suppose to save money as it is and helps the environment. I have had the machine 5 years now. The only thing I like is the lights during the washing procedure. I was looking for efficiency but there is nothing efficient about a heavy soiled load of clothes taking over an hour to wash. The machine does not let you soak or pre soak clothes. With muddy clothing, sometimes things need to soak. The machine smells like mildew or mold all the time. The rubber seal is disgusting to look at and clean. Not sure who came up with this brilliant machine but I think its awful. There is barely any water on the clothing when washing. I dont like it at all and with it being 2,000 I feel like I got ripped off. My dryer is a Samsung steam or dry dryer. Never lost an article of clothing in it. The dryer works great. So far no issues. The machine takes forever to wash. The clothes dry quick because they barely get wet. But they do spin fast. I hate the fact there is still pet hair on my uniform pants and some types of fabrics which really makes me mad. Also I cannot soak soiled clothes. The machine drains out any excess water. I am so not a fan of this machine. I am so annoyed with it. I would trade it off for an older top loading machine in a heartbeat.

I purchased the LG WT1101CW washing machine in Feb 2015. The machine began to malfunction in November, quitting in the middle of a wash cycle, black control panel, locking a wet load of clothing inside. Fortunately, I had purchased a Geek Squad protection plan. We went through the troubleshooting routine on the phone, to no avail, so they scheduled a repairman within 48 hours.Prior to the visit, I hit the start button on the machine and it started up again. The repairman came to take a look and couldnt see anything wrong with the washer. It ran fine for about a month and repeated same scenario. This time, repair man replaced the control panel. Ran fine for another month and began failing mid-cycle, sporadically, will reset after one, two or three tries at unplugging and replugging machine. Tonight, Ive had to reset the washer four times to get through a medium load of towels. Previously, this has happened with light and heavy loads on various cycles. I have another date with the Geek Squad.I would give this washer zero stars if I could. Im tired of having to climb over this washer to unplug, re-plug, tired of finding the machine hasnt finished washing, tired of having to set up dates where I can wait around for a tech to check out my washer. Im done with LG after this. When the machine works, Ive had fabric softener marks left on my dark clothes, using the Pure Color cycle, requiring a second rinse. The Bright Whites cycle has turned my 800 thread count Egyptian cotton, king sized sheets a dingy yellow color. There is never enough water in the machine to completely submerge any load of laundry. I wonder how clean my clothes really are. I really hate this washer.

I purchased an LG washing machine in 2011. At the time of its purchase, the machine started to produce oil like stains on the clothes. I tried several detergents and purchased several different types of tub cleaners to no avail. After 6 months of repeated stains, I called the Sears technical department to complain about the situation. A technician was sent out to my house to provide preventive maintenance. Upon arrival, I indicated that the machine did not require its yearly maintenance but rather a repair. The technician indicated, after looking at the machine, that he could not detect a deficiency with the machine. He did acknowledge that the stains were coming from the machine. Several calls to the technical department, the customer service department, and an in store visit to Sears to discuss the way forward with an area manager has proven to be futile. I still sit with a machine that produces oil stains on my clothes. I have incurred enormous costs having to throw away clothes because they are no longer fit to wear. I am now considering purchasing another machine, and I have stopped purchasing anything from Sears purely out of principle.

I also am not a huge fan of the way the water lines need to be cleaned out. If you dont leave the door wide open, it gets a funky moldy smell. Two weeks after installing our beautiful new oven in our beautifully remodeled kitchen, we had a graduation party for my son. As I was going to bed that night, the smoke alarms started blaring. The house was filled with black smoke. To make a long story short, my nephew bumped one of the knobs and started a plastic container on fire. All he did was bump the knob and started a fire that easily. Major design flaw. This oven is very dangerous!

I purchased an LG dishwasher model ldt7797st at JCPenney. Im in my sixties and have dishwashers for many years. This is without a doubt the worst dishwasher I have ever had. It cant clean a coffee ring from inside a coffee cup. Its totally useless. I called a repairman through LG. It was probably one of the most knowledgeable repairman Ive had here. He told me I was doing everything correctly. Checked out the dishwasher and said it was operating perfectly. What a waste.

I purchased an LG Refrigerator 3 to 4 years ago with Model Number LFC21760ST and Serial Number **. Within 6 months time, the plastic shelves in the top refrigerator broke. The company replaced them with the same shelves after I called to complain. Within 6 more months or so, the same shelves broke again, then the long tray shelf cracked completely in two pieces. I did not call to complain as there was no point in asking for more junk replacement parts. This morning, when I opened the refrigerator, the light box had fallen and the contents of my refrigerator were hot from the two hanging light bulbs. I called the company service number above and was told this is a common problem and theyll come out to fix the light bulb box only, not all the broken flimsy plastic shelves. How can I warn consumers not to buy this product? It is just my husband and I who use this refrigerator, and it has not been abused. This was not an inexpensive product, yet it was constructed with junk materials. Please advise buyers to beware of this LG product line. Thank You,Jeanne

Brand new LG electric range model LRE30453SB. First time using the oven, smoke billowed from the oven vent after about 5 minutes of preheating. There was some cracking noises heard, about 4 or 5 of them prior to the smoke release. We purchased an LG refrigerator with bottom double freezer and french doors
We purchased an LG refrigerator with bottom double freezer and french doors in 2011. Four years in - we had trouble with the food thawing in the freezer and ice maker stopped working. A repairman through LG came out and did a repair and fixed it. As soon as the warranty was up (Jan 2016) it happened again. We were given a choice - pay $294.50 for a 1x visit and 60 days coverage of the same issue or $444.05 for 1 year warranty for any problem.Since we figured this was a big problem, we went with the $444. The repairman came again and flushed the system - started working again. 5 months later the same thing happened - he replaced the compressor. Still under warranty. Warranty expired in July 2017 - Oct 2017 the same thing happened. LG will not do anything about it because its not under warranty even though its the same problem from the beginning. Now Im faced with a non working refrigerator and a decision of paying a huge amount to get it fixed or moving on from a 6 year old refrigerator. Never will buy LG again.

This is the worst appliance purchase I have made. Most loads show as unbalanced to which the washer responds by refilling the tub with water. It is almost impossible to meet the machines balance requirements. The constant refilling makes the machine a little less than high efficiency. The companys position that you need to wash things of similar weight in a load is ridiculous. I would have to wait until every piece of clothing I own needed washing before I could meet that requirement. A typical load takes 2+ hours to complete which includes multiple attempts to rebalance the clothes. I would recommend that you look elsewhere. I cannot fathom why there are so many positive reviews for this giant POS. (Model WT1101CW)

Updated on 07/02/2021: This is review number 3. LG replaced parts twice then went off. Warranty says not their problem. Even told tech to glue part onto inside of washer. Extended warranty through Lowes. Says not their problem with either. Despite their warranty saying it will be restored to or a operating condition if it has failed due to defects in material. Gee thought I got paid $900 for a washing machine not a towel shredder. Could have done that on my own. Tech told me LG knows there is a problem but doesnt know how to fix it. My take is lg doesnt want to spend any money to redesign the piece so clothes are not getting caught in between the little plastic knob at the bottom of the tub. No need for LG to respond since they are not going to do anything about it anyways. Updated on 06/30/2021: Which consumer affairs would fix it so I can write a second note. So here goes. Its going to be a toss up somebody going to pay. Might I contemplate about taking all my towels that this washing machine tore up. And send part to or all to LG and drop part or all at Lowes. LG spent hours on phone with them after making an appointment and no ones showing up or calling. Called again more hours. Called Lowes. They scheduled an appointment. (With the same company that LG sent out the tech that I have been texting me tells me they are closed on that day the appointment.)Original Review: Complained to LG about washer tearing up to towels. Sent tech out who called company and explained problem. He was told put glue on the center piece. Two weeks later tech came out replaced center piece. Scared of covid I didnt call back for a while. The other piece messed up and continued to mess up and the tech put water proof tape inside. The piece continues to mess my towels up. No towels left. So upset about $1000 washer took for granted that the other problems have to wash some clothes twice. Only cycle to work is bedding cycle that will not tear towels up. It appears the turbo cycle throws the clothes against the middle. The plastic piece in the middle grabs a hold to towels and shreds them so the middle has had shredded threads wrapped around it. LG needs to stick to making phones. Was excited to hear about all the new fangle things the washer could do. Now just wish it would quit pretending to be a washer. Wish I had kept my old washer that was on its last legs. Now my worst fear is coming true. My dry is having to pick up all the hair and dirt the washer is getting.

We purchased a LG Washer and Dryer on March 26th 2011. On September 23rd 2011, the Washer (WT5101HW) created a very large bang and on inspection, we found the washer had rotated more then 100 degrees on itself, luckily not tearing the water lines from the connections. The top portion of the machine, lid and control panel, were no longer connected to the main chassis and were lying to one side. The drum was not on any of its mounts and the side panels around the drum were all pushed out, as if there had been an internal explosion. I now have two significant holes in the dry wall walls on either side of the unit and the thought that if any of my children were in the vicinity when this happened, they could have experienced serious injury or worse. We are in the process of working with LG on this issue but after reading the list of complaints about LGs lack of customer support, I am not optimistic of a satisfactory resolution.

I bought an LG washer, model number WM2240CW, on 3/20/2011. I thought it was working okay until I noticed that everything I washed would stink. So I watched it wash one day and I saw it wasnt putting enough water in. So I added more water with a hose and it washed fine. So I called LG and told them the problem. They told me I was overloading the washer. I told them that five tee-shirts and five pairs of underwear with 10 socks wasnt overloading. I told them no matter what I wash, it didnt put enough water in. They told me this was normal. I said, No, it wasnt. I could see dry spots on my clothes while it was washing. They would not do anything about it. So now I have to add water with a hose every time I do a wash load! Dont buy an LG washer. They are no good and their service sucks!

I bought this refrigerator in September, 2020. My wife and I noticed that the water and ice it dispensed tasted bad and metallic. The cooler and freezer worked very well but our friends confirmed the bad tasting water and ice. We never had this problem with our old GE refrigerator which lasted 22 years. Four visits by LG technicians failed to solve this problem. I wrote several letters both to LG and Home Depot. Finally, we were contacted by Home Depot who offered either a replacement or a refund. Having lost faith in LG products I elected to take the refund and have ordered a GE refrigerator.

We have been having a cooling issues with our LG French Door Refrigerator. We called the 800 243 0000 number a few times. The first time, the associate asked us to reset the unit and wait for 24 hrs. After the unit failed to reset, we called the number since the unit is under warranty. We were told LG does not have service technicians in our area and we will have to go through an authorized service center. The first service center refused to work with us saying they need the original sales receipt even after LG promised to cover the parts. The authorized service center then called me to give an estimate of $1500 without even looking at the unit. After we called LG service to help us find a technician or another service center, the LG executive response team member set me up with another authorized service center, who set up an appointment after LG provided an authorization. We waited for a week for the appointment, only to have the service call and inform us that they made a mistake and will not service LG units. This is after the LG associate was on a conference call with us and the service center a week ago. So after two week of waiting we have no resolution in sight and LG customer service keeps giving us the runaround. PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE LG PRODUCTS.

Do not buy LG washers. They are prone to breakage and the service is horrible. I have a 3 year old top loader (LG WT1101CW) and it is a terrible purchase. Light use (2 loads a week) and this thing starts popping the OE error code and not spinning out. I spent a day and a half researching and following the service manual to try to fix. Why did I not call a service tech? Because LG has none in Minneapolis. By the way, the whole phone home thing to find out the problem with your equipment, does NOT WORK. I will have to agree with other posters, this unit is disappointing in the cleaning department as well, it will not get out smells let alone dirt. At this point, as near as I can tell, like others this will need a new control board. (Without labor they charge about 20% of the purchase price.) Please save your money and your blood pressure. LG has earned every bad review you will find here.

We called out for servicing AND LG direct, paid 80 GBP to the servicing company only to receive the message, that spare parts are no longer available. LG answered, We would, sorry to say, throw the machine away and buy a new one. Result: Never LG again, throwing a complete nearly new machine away, is this green policy???

Just before my top loading “smart drum” washer was off warranty it kept saying UE (uneven) and refused to spin...even after setting it on spin only. It would constantly set more time and refill with water and not fully spin. We are on a well and water use was a concern! I called LG and they contacted the authorized serviceman who came out a couple of days later. He replaced the motherboard and said all was good. That lasted less than 2 weeks before it was doing the same thing again. Called the repairman myself this time and he spoke to LG. Turns out my washer was a lemon and I actually got a new one on warranty. That was great UNTIL the new one started doing it too at about the same age as the original one started it. The new washer didn’t come with any warranty either so I’m stuck with it.LG top loading washers are a total piece of crap and it frustrates me to no end, wastes our well water and power, and I spend all day sometimes just trying to get 1 load of wash done! Too many times have I had to put dripping clothes into the dryer because I can’t get the washer to spin them out! If I had the money I would buy a new washer...but not an LG!

We purchased an LG Gas Range for our new house in 2017. It was fine for a while with the exception that the last knob on the highest burner would go on with the slight touch or just rubbing by it slowly. This we had to be very careful of. The oven never seemed to be able to be adjusted to the proper temperature and I always had to add time to cooking. Then it decided to throw me F9s. We did everything we could to fix this problem but it would run right for one time and then be back to a F9 after heating to 110. I have stopped using the oven and after reading all the reviews I know I have a dud. No sense in having people to come out and try to fix it with this virus going on. No sense in putting good money into bad. I will never buy an LG product again.

The only complaint we had was that it didnt have a timer on it but we could deal with that. Now, however, it is junk. We had the light on below the microwave and when I turned it off, I turned the vent on to see how many settings it had. I turned it back off and noticed the light inside the microwave was now on and the turntable was going. It wouldnt stop. It was finally discovered that if we pushed stop, then energy saver, it would stop and the light would go off but nothing would make it work. After less than a year the display panel on my LG french door refrigerator started to peel up. Called Best Buy whom I purchased it from, they transferred me to LG. This is where the epic disappointment comes in, I understand that things break even though it has been less than 1 year but there is no excuse for the complete lack of help that LG provided. They gave us the run-around, never called the service shop that was supposed to take care of my area, never gave us an RN number, then to top it off they cancelled the repair appointment that we finally got after a million phone calls because there were 2 different phone numbers on the request. They never notified us that they cancelled the appointment so my boyfriend missed a whole day of work waiting for the repair people (who conveniently then couldnt find any of our info). All it would have taken was a phone call to either numbers to straighten it out, btw they said having 2 numbers on the request was fine that they would call both but instead they called neither. I cant believe the level of disorganization and disregard from LG. I will never trust this brand ever again.

The machine was part of a stacked set purchased from Sears in Toronto with extended warranty in late 2012. It was very reliable until 2019 when it was 6 years and 6 months old. It then developed a leak and need a new gasket which was provided by LG under their One Price service (about $280, I recall). Last month it developed a further leak. My wife read the manual and looked for possible causes. She cleaned out the soap dispenser - this resulted in a flood when we turned the machine on.We called LG - we were no longer eligible for their full price service. They despatched a local company, European Appliance Repair. They charged $300 Canadian plus tax (extra because they needed two men for a stacked unit). My wife told them the full story - an initial leak, and then a flood. They replaced a small part. The next day there was a small leak - we were unsure if there was residue from the flood, but immediately contacted LG. We said we would wait a few days to see if the leak persisted. It became evident that it would occur on the spin cycle whenever there was a full load. We rang up and made an appointment for June 22nd. The appointment was then postponed to the 23rd in a message received on June 16.On June 19 at close of business we got a message saying our appointment was cancelled or postponed. It was impossible to get clarification till the new week began. On June 21 at 9.00 we rang and were informed that someone would come that day, and that the cancellation message was an error. However, nobody could come that day, because European Appliance Repair did not recall they had to send two people out. An appointment was made for 3 to 5 on the 23rd, but the same two repairmen appeared at 8 p.m. They announced after 35 minutes that we would need a gasket. We would have to pay for the part and additional labour. They denied that we had told them that we had a leak before my wife cleaned the soap dispenser. We have no idea whether they did not hear what my wife had said or were telling an untruth. It was clear to us that they were in a hurry on both occasions, probably overworked because of the pandemic. We noted that a gasket had been replaced the previous year. Gaskets, we were told, could never be guaranteed because customers often put sharp objects in machines. We spoke to an LG rep. on the phone. He insisted that no further charge would be levied, and that, if we did not get satisfaction, LG would give us an allowance toward a new machine. Two days later we spoke to a woman at European Appliance Repair. They proposed to treat the repair as a separate problem and charge 250 labor plus tax plus the cost of the part (plus, of course, $620 Canadian we had paid for April, 2019 and May, 2020 leaks). They had clearly heard nothing from LG.After this we spoke with three LG reps. (we had difficulty communicating with the first two). The third person with whom we spoke said that a gasket would not normally tear because a few coins had gone through the machine (we do not keep sharp objects in our pockets). Furthermore, he agreed to escalate the issue and get back to us the next day. He warned that the replacement model that succeeded ours might not be stackable with the old dryer, should we decide on replacement by LG. We do not have room to house the units in another way.Naturally enough, nobody from LG did get back to us in 24 hours about our “escalated issue. Today we decided to buy a stackable set made by another manufacturer. We are surrendering a perfectly good dryer - but there appears to be no alternative. On the basis of this experience I would not advise anybody to buy an LG washer or dryer, unless you expect to replace your machine every six years, and to be particularly careful when selecting stackable units.

We bought ALL LG appliances 3 yrs. ago, including their French door-in-door refrigerator. We’ve been without that fridge for THREE WEEKS now!! LG’s customer svc. is shameful. They think 3 wks isn’t unreasonable to live without a fridge. It took 2 wks & dozens of phone calls, hanging on hold for over 10 mins. to even get an LG certified tech assigned to our case. Took another week for THEIR certified tech to receive the new compressor from LG parts. (LG refuses to expedite shipping even when we offered to pay for it). He came, installed the new one & it’s STILL doesn’t work!!!!Admittedly, we were enamored by their products. We drank the “Life’s Good” Koolaid. The only element that differentiates one manufacturer, from another is their customer service when things go wrong. It’s easy to spew “Life’s good” mantra when people are spending millions on your products. It’s what a company does to help its brand loyal customers WHEN THINGS GO WRONG - that is the true measure of their worth. I was an LG brand loyal consumer. I’m over that now & hope to warn others so this nightmare doesn’t happen to them. My neighbor had a similar compressor problem with their Samsung fridge. They received a full refund for what they paid for it, in TWO DAYS!One of my husband’s cancer meds requires refrigeration. Even knowing that, LG customer service reps give the same rehearsed canned response; “we’re sorry for your inconvenience”. 1) They’re NOT “sorry” & 2) Being without a fridge for the whole month of August is considered well beyond “inconvenience”!!! They’re doing NOTHING except continuing to try to get it repaired at a snail’s pace. There’s NO possibility of getting anything done quick with them. I offered to give them MY FedEx acct. # to overnight another compressor. No, they can’t even do that. If I could afford to put this piece of garbage on the curb for trash pick-up, I would. But we bought all new appliances knowing we were going to be retiring & these were supposed to last us as we prepared to live on our fixed incomes. I would go buy a similar fridge by another brand manufacturer if I could, but we’re not drawing the salaries we once did. LG expects us to wait ANOTHER 3 wks or longer to see if their tech can replace the compressor, again. When asked if they could overnight it - no, that’s not their policy. They are a disgrace!!!

We purchased a new LG front load washer from Home Depot and during the warranty period, the door became very stiff to where you had to hold it open to load clothes. Called service repair and they fixed it. Warranty did not cover anything because it had nothing to do with the operation such as drum, bearings or mechanical issues. Nine months later, the door was doing the same thing and water leaked from the door down the front of the washer. Ive decided to use it until I can purchase another type and brand. Probably a top load Maytag.

The refrigerator worked fine for the first 2 1/2years. Since then we have had repair out 4 times in the last 4 months. The cooling system keeps going out. Condenser, fan, you name it. I have lost food 4 times. My husband has called the 1-800 number numerous times. They just keep sending out a repair person to no avail. Last time, after going through 2 supervisors, LG agreed to send us a $200 check for food and said to give the repair person one more chance to fix the problem and if it did not work LG would consider doing something more. The repair person came out and my fridge has been working for 4 days now. I await the next outage. I have no confidence that the problem is fixed and I am sure I will be calling them again. LG makes a lot of great products but refrigerators are not included and I will NEVER buy another one.

We purchased this refrigerator in December 2016. The first issue was the very typical water tube leak which caused cascading icicles in the freezer (LOWES was very helpful with this problem). A couple of days ago, the right top hinge came loose, causing the door to hit me in the chest. I had to support the door to prevent it falling completely off. We were able to reattach the hinge pin and duct tape it to prevent a recurrence. This could have had catastrophic results. Prior to the hinge pin coming out, the door had been difficult to close properly, but we could not see what was causing the problem. I will not purchase any more LG products.

Bought a LG topload washer and dryer on Feb 21, 2014, on March 21, 2015 the circuit board fried. I contacted LG and they had given me the extended warranty, so kudos for them for that. From there the bottom drops out. For over a week they said that no repair shop would come and fix it because I lived too far out, I looked them up and there were two within 10 miles of me. Finally I asked them what address they had, for some reason they had an address that we hadnt lived at in over 7 years. Got that fixed and a week later the repair guy shown up for 10 minutes to tell me that the board is fried and they will have to order one. So they order it and they deliver the wrong part, he calls LG and orders again, explains to them what he needs. They send exactly the same part, so he opens a claim. That was over two weeks ago, I have called them at least 3 times a week only to be told that they have to order the part, but they cant tell me when they will get it. They have put me on hold for over 30 minutes, hung up on me while I was explaining to them what was going on. It has been a nightmare, just got off the phone with LG and the guy was very nice and apologetic, and said he will escalate it, but I have been told that several times. We now have a $900.00 paper weight sitting in our laundry room and LG has been no help. They gave us the extended warranty, but it is looking like that was just to appease us as they cannot tell me when it might get fixed. Never buy LG again. Have no idea where to go from here, but wait more.

Most of my family has LG refrigerators. We also enjoy the style that LG has that was why we went with them. We like the whole line, so we got the stove, microwave, fridge, and dishwasher. I like the fridges French doors and the way they open up to allow us to access the extra-wide fridge without swinging the door all the way open. Also, it doesn’t take up so much room in the kitchen. LG did a phenomenal job, but I had some issues with the black stainless flaking off. A rep came out to replace the doors, and that was phenomenal. But when they replaced the doors, one side doesn’t shut on its own anymore unless I slam it. I’ve tried calling them back a number of times, but there was no response. That part was disappointing, but the product overall, when it’s set and adjusted right, is phenomenal.

Original manual says, Do not wash or spin water proof clothes. Literature Update: Do not wash or spin any item labeled or known to be water-proof or water-resistant, even if the product care label on the item permits machine washing. Failure to follow these instructions could result in bodily injury, severe damage to your laundry, your washer and/or property damage as a result of abnormal vibration of the washer. Examples of water-proof or water-resistant items include certain mattress pads, mattress covers, rain gear, camping gear, skiing apparel, outdoor gear and similar items.I contacted LG and they informed me that it is all legal and there is nothing they are going to do to help me wash my water resistant clothing. Of course, this is after speaking with several reps and getting the runaround, playing stupid, not understanding that water proof and water resistant are different, and outright telling me that this is all in the original manual. I had to email a copy of the page in question for LG rep to tell me that yes, they have changed specs on the washer but they are legally allowed to change it and there is nothing I can do about it. Specs are supposedly listed and changed on LG website and it is all legal to change it after sale of a product. I have read the whole manual and LG rep has pointed me to the exact page they claimed at first this information was to be found.

We lost $250 in food. This time it completely went out and lost $500 in food plus 2 days off work without pay to have a repairman, who was sent by LG not do anything at all. The repairman told us the compressor and other components had to be replaced. He told us this isnt guaranteed because its known that LG has compressor issues. Its just a bandaid for the inevitable. Today he was supposed to be here at 8:00 am. No call, no show and no explanation! And... 2 weeks now without a fridge. Completely disappointed. This was not a cheap fridge. Dont buy this product! Eight years ago, I purchased an LG Tromm washer and dryer. I have been very satisfied with my purchase until 9 days ago when the thermal coupler went bad in the dryer, and I have now been waiting for 6 days to have that part replaced. I cannot fault the repair service I am using in my area. They are as frustrated as I am. They, too, are waiting on the part. So here is what I learned...I have had the dryer for 8 years and it performed well and I am pleased with the product; however, what I am not pleased with is that when a repair is needed, there are not any US parts manufacturers for LG. So if the part is not available in the US warehouse, you must wait for them to get the part in, which is the situation I am in at this time. Buyer, beware. The LG appliances are top end and perform well, however, if they need service, you might be better off to buy an American made product by Samsung (i.e. Whirlpool). At least, when those popped together plastic parts break, they are manufactured in the US and you wont have to wait for 7 days! I also own an LG refrigerator, dishwasher, stove and as I said, a washer...Because of my experience with my dryer, I have added to my nightly prayers that they dont need repair because this is past ridiculous. If I would have known that the appliances couldnt be repaired in a timely manner, I would have probably purchased a less well made and certainly cheaper appliance!

We bought an LG LDF7551ST dishwasher about two years ago based upon positive consumer ratings. I even recommended one for my parents. After about 6 mos, started to hear a high pitched screeching sound - I read other consumers experienced the same problem. Repair person said it was a bad ball bearing in the motor. We have an LG LRE30755ST that we purchased in May of 2007. It was manufactured in April of 2007. On April 6, 2012, while cooking dinner in the oven, a loud humming noise started and we noticed there was a fire inside the oven. I immediately grabbed the kids and ran, and my husband shut the oven down and grabbed the extinguisher. After it cooled down, it appears some sort of wiring between the warming drawer and the bottom of the oven caused the fire and it burned a hole through the bottom of the oven. I contacted LG about this, even though it was out of the 1 year warranty and the only thing they had to offer was to send out a technician to perform a diagnostic test for $89. I told her there was nothing to diagnose, there is a hole burned in the bottom of my oven, it needs to be replaced. The agent simply said, Im sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you. We are furious as this is a very dangerous product and have seen several other reports of the exact same circumstances, yet the product has not been recalled, simply/conveniently discontinued. If we had been in another room, this could have been a major fire and done damage to our home. LG needs to be held accountable for their poor products.

Purchased a LG range model LSB5682 in Dec. 2009 from The Brick with a 5 year extended warranty. Within that period I had 5 service calls - 4 of 5 service calls have been for the control panel stops working. Trans Global comes in and replaces panel and we are fine for a little while. Its gotten to the point where the tech comes in and does not touch the range he just orders the part. Spoke with LG recall department they told me its not normal and they cant do anything about it.Trans Global only does temporary fixes instead of looking at what breaks down the panel unless they know something I dont which brings me to the lemon policy. Its only good for the first 3 years. If I knew this after the first repair I could have bought a new range with the money I have spent feeding my family at restaurants every time it breaks down because I have to wait for the part 3 to 4 weeks. So I guess its another temporary fix till my warranty runs out because Trans Global will not replace it. Thumbs down to The Brick which is Trans Global and LG for letting such companies service their products.

My experience with this washer has been completely unacceptable. When attempting to run a small load, the machine shuts down completely during the spin cycle due to imbalance. On one occasion it took over three hours to complete a small load as the load had to be redistributed and the washer restarted on three/four separate occasions. When I e-mailed LG regarding this problem I was told to check the circuit breaker!! This is a design flaw. LG as well as some other manufacturers have eliminated the costly, heavy and expensive transmissions found in earlier washers with a system that just plain doesnt work. The agitation is so poor that clothing in the middle of the load barely gets wet much less cleaned. I am tired of removing dirty laundry from this machine after the load is done.

In October of 2019 I purchased a full suite of LG appliances, refrigerator, range, microwave, dishwasher, washer/dryer. All purchased from and installed by Best Buy. I really like all the appliances and they all seem to perform well, with the exception of the dishwasher. I have a constant and ongoing problem with it draining. This problem appeared within the first month. Best Buy came out and could not replicate the problem. In January the same problem again. Best Buy replaced the drain pump. That lasted less than one week. By this point Best Buy was no longer off in home service appointments because of the Covid-19 thing.I went to the LG web. Requested a repair. The service responded the next day, came out a determined a new control board was needed. A week later they came out to replace it. That lasted 4 days. I am now once again without a dishwasher. Ive again requested service from LG but have yet to hear back, that was yesterday. Today I called your 800 number and ended up hanging up on your representative because of the poor service offered by her. Its time you replace this dishwasher, as I am tired of having to arrange my schedule to fit in repairs that last less than a week.

We have had the washer and dryer several years. Both units give the worse performance of any washer - dryer combo we have ever owned. The washer has three issues; one, it does not get the clothes clean; two, if you run a load with bleach you have to run an empty load to clean all of the bleach out; three, after every wash you must wipe the door ring out to prevent any odor. The dryer has two issues; one, it does not dry clothes well; two, More lint goes outside than the lint screen catches (we had representative over to look at it and he stated that this is just the way it is with the new dryers). The Customer support responses treat us like children when we get a response. Bottom line, we despise the units and do not recommend to any of our friends.

Unfortunately we did not read reviews before purchasing our LG Model 5040ST
Unfortunately we did not read reviews before purchasing our LG Model 5040ST Dishwasher in June 2013 through a local Home Depot. We were replacing a dishwasher that had run well for several years but which finally sprang enough leaks that it could not be patched and we also hoped to improve the water usage/efficiency with a newer appliance. We liked the efficiency ratings, noise ratings, and features for the LG and got a great deal on one normally priced at nearly $700 for a mere $498. The plastic components discolored very quickly and became gray and somewhat brittle. However, it continued to clean, although it slowly became progressively more noisy. Two months ago we got the dreaded message that the motor was seized.Calling LG, I spoke with Bryan who I finally had to ask to stop eating while talking with me so we could get through the call a bit quicker. I explained at the beginning of the call that the motor had seized according to the diagnostics. At the end of his script of questions, he asked me what the problem was. Ultimately he told me it wasnt in warranty and I had to tell him that the parts were still under warranty. He agreed, but then told me it would likely cost $75 for a visit and around $200 in labor so he wasnt sure it was worth repairing. When I told him I would like to get the contacts of the approved repair folks, he gave me two numbers. He then asked me if he could have my email address so they could send me promotional materials about other LG products. I told him that a dishwasher whose motor seized after less than 18 months of use was not a great advertisement for the brand so no, he could not have my email address to promote other products. We have had four dishwashers in 40 years. Each has lasted 8-9 years minimum - and one we simply left behind in a move and it continued to be used by the people we left it with for several more years. The dishwasher is very attractive and still looks brand new. After my husband and I talked through what it would cost to get this repaired - with the same type of motor that seized after just 18 months, and with the clear lack of care or pride of ownership by LG representatives, we decided there was little point and we are putting it out on the curb. Instead, we went back online to renew our subscription to companies that we trust that rate appliances and next time we will do more research first. I have no illusions that LG cares one bit about their products or they would have better trained personnel on their call centers and they would have a product that meets minimum expectations for a common household appliance. My only reason for submitting this review is to hopefully help someone else make a more informed decision. Im just so sorry I didnt come here first.

Purchased a $1500 5 burner range (gas) late Nov 2013. Was delivered and installed December 2013. Used the cook top, but not the oven until Christmas. Christmas day dinner was ruined due to oven not functioning properly. Took twice the time to cook as it should have, nothing browns, everything looks anemic. Called Home Depot and got LG certified tech information. First visit January 2014, next 2 visits included 2 new sensors and a control board. Still does not work properly. Multiple calls to LG, and was promised that after 3 visits and 3 parts replaced it was deemed a lemon and would be exchanged for new range. Never happened. 10 months and 8 tech visits later, and I still dont qualify for exchange/replacement. Executive services is useless. Adrienne (the supervisor of all supervisors) asked for receipt and invoice to be faxed for the resolution team. Faxed immediately after conversation and one week later was told I STILL dont qualify for exchange or refund. When I asked her what does qualify she said, as an LG customer you are on a need-to-know basis. She refused to tell me! I have not encountered ONE LG person who has been helpful or even nice. I will soon be replacing all 5 major LG appliances with Samsung. NEVER WILL I BUY LG AGAIN. Luckily Home Depot has facilitated this interaction and I am now getting my money back. I was told that I could try to add freon but without any guarantee of the fridge lasting. I would be better off just buying a new fridge. He told me that most of his repairs deal with Samsung and LG which apparently are the brands taking over the big stores. I decided to buy a Whirlpool since it seems to have the least amount of repairs among all the brands. It could have been the case of a lemon, but some of my friends have reported issues with LG fridges. I was not aware that fridges need to be considered as disposable appliances and wont last more than 3 or 4 years. It appears to be the case however. I just bought a basic fridge with no water or ice dispenser. I can live without them. I will stay away from any LG kitchen appliances in the meantime and will not recommend them.

They are extremely dangerous as you can see from other peoples reviews. I have the same experiences. Including accidentally brushing a knob as I took my small children upstairs to bed. I also went to bed and 30 minutes later went downstairs to get water. At that time the entire downstairs was filled with gas. The house could of exploded in the middle of night with us in it. Or been asleep while the fumed reached us upstairs! If I hadnt gone I dont know what could of happened us! My almost two year old can turn the stove on. It is extremely dangerous. If you see this file a complaint and make LG do the right thing with these knobs. Shame on you LG!!!
