LG direct drive top load - This machine makes me wish I bought the $300 basic Whirlpool. Every load gets UE code. It’s loud. Uses a lot of water. Ends up taking all day to get laundry done. Is it even worth fixing the constant unbalancing?

We purchased our LG Refrigerator in October 2016. It is a French door with dual ice makers. We did love it but like so many others... our compressor broke and our food was ruined. No small expense. Because there is such a demand for replacement compressors I was told there was a back order on them and it took 10 days to get it fixed. Additionally, we cannot get the right fruit/vegetable bin (when facing the refrigerator) out to clean it without breaking it. The gentleman who repaired did get it out and broke it in the process. If anyone would care to shed light on this I would greatly appreciate it. I did read the manual and when you follow the directions, it jams against the door. Also, there in a clear plastic easy access door inside the main french door that catches and pulls open each time you open the main door. Our solution to this was to tape it shut. Lastly, the handle has a button to push to open to access milk and other beverages and apparently it is painted plastic not stainless steel like the rest of the handle because the paint wore off the first year... Looks pretty bad for a high end fridge.

I have been reasonably satisfied with the refrigerator itself. The icemaker is not all that great but that seems to be a common characteristic in most residential refrigerator/freezers with an icemaker. I had the refrigerator approximately two years and the compressor started going out intermittently. It took a week or so for a technician to come and look at it but they did come and look at it and seemed to fix it, although they did not replace the compressor at that time (which is a problem that LG knows about ).Six months later (May of this year) it completely went out on us. And this happened two days before our vacation. It took them ultimately three weeks to come and fix the refrigerator and my children were at home with no refrigerator. We lost approximately $500 in food, with a inadequate food reimbursement of $150. That felt a little bit like a slap in the face after all the problems we had gone through to get the refrigerator repaired. We went through three different technician appointments and the local repair company was both unresponsive and incompetent. When LG was contacted directly, they promised to help but offered no real help in getting our refrigerator repaired sooner. I own several different LG products and I certainly will do more research and be more careful about buying LG products in the future, no longer just taking for granted That their products are of the quality that I would normally expect from LG.

Purchased LG LFSX29766s 3 years ago. Linear compressor failed within 1 year. Went through a nightmare of a process to have it replaced (had to buy extended warranty to cover the cost.). 2 years later -- linear compressor has failed again. Turns out this is a known problem with LG refrigerators. When they repair they just use the same faulty technology which ends up in repeated failures. Multiple class action lawsuit launched against LG. Awful product. Very disappointed in customer service response.

Bought a LP1111WXR at Home Depot. Could not get the unit to work. Called LG and they arranged for a service call. At no time did the customer service rep at LG Corporate ask for or require documentation, they advised that with the serial number they had the information they needed. LG customer service arranged for the 3rd party technician to repair the A/C unit. The tech arrived and confirmed that 99% of the unit functioned properly, except the canister holding the coolant had left the overseas LG factory either a.) without being filled, or b.) with the canister seal improperly properly fit (all coolant leaked out), or c.) with a cracked or defective canister (all coolant leaked out). The technician was set to repair, and then asked for the authorization number I had been provided by LG customer service. The senior advisor at customer service had never provided an authorization number. I advised the tech that LG arranged for the service call. He checked his notes and confirmed that LG Corporate had in fact arranged for the service call....but, nonetheless, he still needed an authorization # (which I was not provided). When I called back LG they gave me the runaround for about 1-hour transferring calls, on hold, etc... The supervisors whom I spoke to where now nasty, and horrible. They advised that it was my fault for not having the authorization number, and would not help in anyway. I now know, firsthand why and how LG sells their electronics at such a great price. Their customer service is awful, misrepresents, and when their product is discovered to be defective, they will not fix it.Worst customer experience Ive ever had - dont buy LG. Ill never buy an LG product, regardless of the price. Never again.

To my dismay, I learned that LG only had a warranty of 90 days. I cant believe that you can pay $1,100 for a washing machine and they only guarantee it for 90 days. Guess they know what I didnt. It is a lousy machine and they already know that it wont last much longer than that. Save your money - any machine out there has to be better and cost a lot less. Also most machines are guaranteed for at least 6 months, and most for 1 year. I will NEVER buy another LG product.

Horrors! I bought a new LG refrigerator LSC27926SW from Best Buy. It had icing, fan stoppage and shutdown before warranty expired. LG fixed it. Now over last 3 years, they have fixed it 8 more times, and have never solved the problem. They refuse to replace this lemon, and keep sending Korean techies out to fix it every time this happens. I now have to take them to court to get a new refrigerator under Michigan lemon law. They are coming again this Friday, 11/16/2011, because it just broke again!

I purchased an LG washer 21/2 years ago from Home Depot and last weekend it failed during a load. I could not get my clothes out. The main PCB board failed. This washer was only used for a couple of loads a week. What really bothered me was the treatment I got from LG. The service people kept hanging up on me and they would not do anything for me even though they had a service bulletin out identifying the board as a problem and had developed an updated replacement board. Stay away from LG equipment. Their equipment is not reliable and they do not stand by their equipment.

I bought LG 26Cuft Wifi French Door refrigerator (model LFXS26973D/01; SN 909KRAT00680) from Costco on Nov 12, 2019. It was 2-year warranty. Unfortunately, I am only 2 months late and both Costco and LG washed their hands from any manufacturing defect. The water filter that needs to be changed every 6-month does not work anymore even with LG brand filters LT1000 or LT1000P/PC/PCS (ADQ747935). I bought a new LG filter head (AKN729490003) and even it does not work. Calling Costco and LG has no help because only 2 months more than 2-year warranty. I tried a professional appliance for help, even they could not help. I am sure it is manufacturing defect and there is no recall. This means I have to trash this LG refrigerator just in 2-year. I would not recommend anyone to buy LG refrigerator and get frustrated like me.

My LG refrigerator has a ton of space. I love how they designed the ice maker to be space saving, so that I may fully utilize my door space. Other refrigerators that Ive seen have the ice maker taking up all of the door space. I love that I can change the shelves inside of the refrigerator and the door in a door function is just amazing. The refrigerator drawer is an amazing feature and we use that for everything from wine and pop to lunchmeat and cheese. The freezer drawer is also an easy to use part of this refrigerator, I was amazed at how easy it is to make the most of that space. All in all this is the best refrigerator we have ever owned. Everything is spacious & easily accessible, its a good looking appliance and we get many compliments on it. I was able to get it at an amazing price too, using a coupon during a good sale.

Since the first week I had LG, it made my clothes smell. Despite calling LG, and having a service company come out, the smell wont go away. I have a sick person with cancer, and they cannot lay on the sheets, because it makes them nauseous. I have to take the wash to my sons house. This is totally unacceptable. I have allergies, and the smell is giving me headaches. LG needs to take this machine back, because there is something gravely wrong. The reason is it does not empty all the water out, and sits in the machine. The water gets smelly, and goes into the clothes. To sit on the floor and empty the water after each wash, is unacceptable. Bleaching and numerous cleaning doesnt help, as long as it holds at least a gallon of water all the time. Please recall the LG front load model WM042HW/01. According to LG, this is normal, and are trying to say it is the soap/detergent that is the problem. This is not so. It is a water problem that always remains in the machine getting musty.

I just called LG to try and warranty my french door refrigerator with a broken compressor. I purchased my unit Aug. 2012, and I am well within my 10 year warranty. Heck, Im still within the 7 year warranty for the other parts that will need to be replaced when they repair the compressor. They transferred me to their affiliated repair company and they want $1000.00 to fix my unit. If Im under warranty, why do I have to pay that much for something that is guaranteed to break again, from reading all these comments???? $1k I might as well use that money for a new unit, not LG!

I liked all the extra features the refrigerator offered. My lg had an automatic ice dispenser that gave crushed ice or cubed ice and also gave water. I liked that I could choose between crushed ice and ice cubes. I like to be able to get crushed ice for my drinks. When I drink soda and water I like crushed ice. When I make mixed drinks and daiquiris its easier to not have to crush the ice myself for so long. The temperature was not always the easiest to control though. Sometimes the refrigerator got too cold and my vegetables got frost on them. When I turn it down too low the vegetables all spoiled too quickly.

Please avoid all LG kitchen appliances if possible. Our refrigerator and dishwasher (both only 2.5 years old) has given us nothing but problem. The fridge started making a loud humming and gurgling noise intermittently about 2 months ago. Then 3 weeks ago, the freezer gave out and the following day the whole thing stopped working. Its been 3.5 weeks and we still dont have a working fridge. Apparently, all parts are shipped from Korea which takes days to weeks to get. Our service provider who was referred by Home Warranty of America (also a horrible warranty company) ordered the wrong part which will take another 7-10 days to get the part. I am livid and fed up. Also, our fickle LG dishwasher has been giving us problems since the day we moved in. It turns on when it wants to. We have to constantly reset the breaker for it to function properly.

Replaced a fan 7/1. Sound stopped. Its still not cooling. I have been waiting for more parts since tech came back out on 7:14. This was third visit. No one will talk to me at LG. This is a defective product and I have received no response from LG at all. Should not be down for 5 weeks. I have asked for their help 5 times with calls and three emails. I have spent countless hours on the phone with both LG and their service company AE. We bought 5 LG appliances in April of 2010 and had them installed in August same year. So far we have had to have the wall oven repaired twice after only 3 years. After the first repair it broke down again within 7 months and we were told the warranty for the new part was only 6 months! Trying to get a second repair took over a month of angry phone calls just to try to get a LG certified repair shop to even book an appointment! When contacting customer service they will not let you speak with any sort of management/supervisory personnel and there is no way to receive an address for a letter of complaint. Our convection microwave also stopped working after less than 3 years and had to be replaced at the same time as the second oven repair. Should have been done with the first oven repair but could not get the part from LG in time and they were going to charge for another service call!Side by side double drawer bottom mount freezer refrigerator hasnt had the water dispenser work for a couple years. Their top of the line dishwasher has been having grinding sounds for over a year and this week is now on a continual run cycle no matter which cycle you request, just does not stop as well as having the loud grinding sound the whole time it runs whether 2 minutes or 20 hours! Just waiting for our induction cooktop to be the last of the appliances to quit, should be coming any time now! It astounds me that consumers can pay top dollar for products and get lower than average results with the products and customer service. Trying to speak to anyone within the customer service center is a lesson in how not to conduct business, and not being able to have a contact address or email or phone number for customer complaint is infuriating.

Purchased a new LG Steam dryer-DLEX3370W and washer in June 2018. Within 2 months of purchasing the dryer would not come on. Interior light would come on but electronic panel lights would not, so it is a bad board. Called LG for warranty service. Never received another call from them ever. Service repairman came 3+ weeks later with a front panel plastic part, knowing the dryer would not turn on. He threw the part in the box and stated LG sent him the wrong part. I stated I knew he orders parts not LG. LG confirmed this also. Said he would order a board and be back another day. I filed a complaint with him due to him lying about the part along with him not even opening the dryer to diagnose the problem. I have called LG every few days for 3 months now regarding the status. I am told pending. They asked for receipt of the purchase, I uploaded it to my claim. Then 2 weeks later asked for it again, uploaded it. Never in 3 months has anyone from LG called me to let me know the status. They refuse to give anything in writing also. This dryer has a lawsuit against LG due to the stream drawer and a house fire. After 10 weeks we finally purchase a new dryer and expect they would reimburse us due to not being able to find another repair company to come out to our area. They asked me to upload the receipt, I did, along with our Governors state of emergency in our county due to flooding in Texas, I did that also as asked. Today, 11/8/18, I called and spoke with a Supervisor in Executive Services who was not customer friendly, stated the claim had been denied last month! No notification, nothing! I asked for the address to send a small claims notification letter. LG Legal Dept, PO Box 24007, Huntsville, AL 35813. We will be filing a suit not honoring the warranty of a 2 month old dryer. FYI, a lawsuit was filed for a house fire due to the steam drawer.

Updated on 07/02/2019: This is a follow up to my last review. Yet again, my appointment was rescheduled from July 2 to July 8!! I was sent an email twice over the weekend asking me to call to reschedule my appointment that was supposed to be on 7/2. When I called on Monday morning (7/1), I was told that my appointment needed to be rescheduled AGAIN! They rescheduled my appointment for 7/8 - a week from now! How do you sleep at night, LG and A & E Solutions, knowing that you are robbing your customers and have no intentions of honoring the warranty on your products? I will never buy another LG appliance. If I could give this company zero stars, I would. If someone is serious about making this right, you can send me a private message asking for my phone number. Otherwise, keep pointing the finger at everyone else.Updated on 06/25/2019: This is an update to my review on 6/19/19. The response that I got from LG to my review was: We understand that you are frustrated with the refrigerator and we do care about our customers. Because without you there is no us. So we would love to assist you at the moment. We do see that service has been set for June 24. Please keep us informed on the status and let us know how the repair went. LG DID NOT SHOW UP ON JUNE 24TH!! AM I SURPRISED??? NO.LGs customer service department might as well be non-existent. Dont spend your money on an LG appliance unless you are confident that you will never have a maintenance issue. For me, the maintenance issue came after 3 years of owning my $1500 refrigerator!! Because the warranty is under LG, no private repair company will come out to fix it because they have told me that they will never be paid by LG. Furthermore, I have found that very few private repair companies will service LG appliances because of their reputation.Original Review: I bought an LG refrigerator approximately 3.5 years ago and it already died - both the refrigerator and the freezer!! I was told that it would take 9 DAYS to have a service repair company come out. I have tried being in touch with customer service twice and have been placed on hold for at least 45 minutes before I finally hung up each time. The worst customer service. Based on the reviews here, I am not confident that the issue will even be resolved once the repair company comes if I still have to wait for replacement parts. Meanwhile, I am trying to live out of coolers; not to mention the amount of money I lost on food that went bad.LG, please do me a favor and resist sending me the same response that you have sent to everyone who has written a review. LG Refrigerators response: Thank you for notifying LG of the experience you have encountered thus far. This is not indicative of how we want our valued customers to feel. We’ll be happy to look into this and answer any questions that you have. Please send a private message so that we can assist you. Send a private message where??? How about a sincere response rather than one that is copied and pasted. And please dont act like you care about your customers. Your lack of customer service tells the story for itself.

I purchased this fridge 2 years ago; it had good reviews and I was assured by the 10 yr compressor warranty. Turns out that you are just buying an ongoing problem! How can LG sell a known defective product? The refrigerator we replaced worked well for 27 years. Our warranty was voided because we tried to have it fixed first by a non-accredited LG tech, but it is the compressor that went out and LG has abandoned us in a technicality. And if we had it repaired, in all likelihood it would go out again in 2 years. I love the design and look, but not worth the $3k problem. After reading multiple reviews, seems that LG knowingly continues to put out a defective product. Shame on you LG!

Bought a LG dishwasher in October 2016, due to shipping issues did not get until December, installed myself, first use it took about 6 hours to complete a cycle, and dishes were still dirty, soap dispenser never opened. Called Lowe’s, they told me to call LG, and they would schedule a service call. Well they set up one for 30 days from a lawnmower company? They came, said I had a loose wire, my fault, well before they got very far away dishwasher quit. Well to make a long story short, here it is August 18, and my dishwasher still does not work. LG keeps turning me over to AE service which I dont know who is more useless, every time they schedule someone I get a phone call within a few days of appointment from a service tech that either tells me I am too far away to service, or they no longer service LG due to not being paid, some say they cannot get parts, or get wrong parts. I have been told 3 times by LG service that I was being escalated to a buy back since I have had so many problems, but keep getting the run around. Today I was offered to buy an extended warranty, what a joke. At this rate it will be out of warranty before I ever see a repairman, she agreed, and said that’s a good reason to buy this extended repair warranty. If anyone wants to call me ** I am ready to get people together to contact the Better Business Bureau, if they have had the same issue, someone need to stand up for our consumer rights. I dont even have mine hooked up, gave 15 year old General Electric away, and never had a problem with it, brother in law loves it.

Our washer (LGWM2301H) was purchased 3.5 years ago. Recently, it developed a grinding sound that was amplified when spinning. A repairman charged me $80 to tell me that the bearings were going and, OF COURSE, that particular problem was not covered under the warranty (whatever the hell is), and that the repair would cost more than $500.My husband and I are both a little shy of 70 years young and do just a few loads a week. Also, we have used numerous AMERICAN-made washers in our lives that never broke down but just were replaced due to age. This expensive LG was a treat for my retirement; my husband wanted me to have the BEST. Well, as it turned out, we bought the BEST of the Asian junk market or wherever this jewel was conceived - LG has taken care not to provide that information. It has been hauled away today and been replaced by an ALL AMERICAN-MADE MAYTAG top loader. The downside of this is that LG screwed us out of $800. (I could have had my laundry sent out for that amount.) But the upside is that, hopefully, LG will continue to put out junk and screw itself out of the market with the rest of the junk producers. It is refreshing to know that the MAYTAG IS ONCE AGAIN COMPLETELY MADE IN AMERICA, BY AMERICANS - WITH COPPER WIRING AND NO ALUMINUM JUNK . Go for it, LG. I can only hope that you will continue digging your own grave.

This washer left flakes of filth on my clothes after less than a month of washing for a family of 2! Customer Service said to buy a product at Home Depot and run “tub clean”. I did this but the flakes come back every 2-3 weeks and I must run the tub clean cycle and use the product, then rewash my clothes! What a waste of time, money and water! After running tub clean, the tub still needs to be wiped out. At 5’1” I cannot reach the bottom of the tub. I use a step stool which throws off my center of gravity. I also fear that the pressure on my ribs may fracture them...I am 69 and have osteoporosis. I wish I’d never bought this washer.

I have a black stainless over-the-range microwave. After 10 months the touchpad has quit working. I have to have the microwave unplugged because, if I plug it in the fan runs and the microwave appears to be running but none of the buttons on the touchpad work so I cannot shut it off. I first contacted Lowes service on Nov. 6 and didnt receive a followup call from LG so I called back on Nov. 9. Finally got a call from a service company on Nov. 10 but they could not get anyone out until the following Wednesday and we were going to be gone. The service company canceled the case and I was told I needed to start the process over when I returned home. I started it again on Nov. 28 and still no call from the service company. Called LG but all they would tell me was that I had to wait until the end of the day. My question to everyone who reads this is: How do we get the big box stores to stop selling LG appliances? LG doesnt seem to care at all about customer satisfaction. Perhaps if Lowes, Home Depot, Best Buy or one of the other big box stores canceled their contract with LG, perhaps LG would look more seriously at the service they provide. Any suggestions on how consumers could accomplish this?

We purchased an entire suite of kitchen appliances in 2015 from Home Depot.
We purchased an entire suite of kitchen appliances in 2015 from Home Depot. The oven failed two weeks ago due to a broken igniter. Repairman said LG igniters last about 3 years. $200 repair. Last night (during dinner when we were home thank goodness) the in-the-door water suddenly decided to turn on by itself, ejecting water onto our hardwood floors. I ran over to try and stop in and slipped and fell in the puddle. Husband ran downstairs to turn off the water which stopped the flow, but the motor kept running as if the water was trying to flow. Reset the breaker which finally stopped the motor from churning. At 1 a.m., the ice maker decided to start spewing ice across the kitchen waking us, the kids, and the dogs as it sounded like a rapid-fire machine gun as the ice cubes bounced all over. Again required a breaker reset to stop the motor. I am livid... Another repair call and repair bill coming up. These are THREE YEARS OLD! Will NEVER purchase LG again.

I urge you to call your states consumer affairs office, your local TV News Consumer Guy, and most especially, YOUR BANK/CREDIT CARD COMPANY!! Your CC should go to bat for you, and will likely do a charge-back if you think the Lemon Law applies to you, which I agree it does. Theres a thing, a consumer law created for just this kind of situation, that you have the right to expect a product will perform as expected. Yours hasnt, and the store clearly is making sport out of giving you the runaround. I dont care how long it has been, you are owed satisfaction for getting a non-working fridge. Please call your Credit Card Company. Free hint: If your end of the conversation has the word Fraud in it (This feels a lot like Fraud; they took my money and I got nothing in return). Youre not ACCUSING anyone of Fraud, just saying how it makes you feel, get it? They seem real happy if that word in particular enters the conversation. It has happened to me, and it was clear that it needed to be spoken by the person complaining. The truth is, imho, you were defrauded. You deserve a full refund, so you can take your money elsewhere. And dont forget if you purchased any extended warranty, you should get that refunded, too. Just my 2. I am not a lawyer, a consumer advocate or anything. Dont work for the competition, Just want you to get your due. Please dont give up before you get a full refund. I received an LG front load washer at 12 noon today. I did the first load which spewed soapy water on the floor. I did subsequent small loads with no overflow. The dispensers retain clear water after cycle completed. I contacted LG to question why the water remains in the dispensers and why the overflow. I was informed that I used too much soap which caused the overflow. This is my second LG, and I am no dummy. I know how to fill the soap dispenser to the normal or max levels using HE products. The response from LG is We only recommend 2 tbs for a big load. I measured the amount of liquid to fill to the normal mark which is 5 tbs and to the max level which is 7 tbs.I explained this to the LG rep and the response was, We have already sent this numerous times to the designers. WHAT??? They know about the problem, continue to produce the product using the same improper guides in the manual and intuitively, the consumer follows the dispenser level marks and provide no ALERT to consumer!!! Of course, I still needed to know about the clear water remaining in the dispensers. That is normal. The dispenser dispenses by overfilling the drawer, that is shy there is water remaining at the end. Of course! We all want stagnated water to sit in the drawer possibly turning moldy and smelly to be dispensed into the next load of wash! I am absolutely incredulous! How can a manufacturer possibly continue to produce and sell such a subpar product? I was pleased with my last LG that performed well for 6 years and recently started to overflow and would not pump the water adequately out of the washer. Not wanting to put money into repairs, I foolishly elected to purchase a new and improved LG washer. What kind of fool am I?

I did not look up reviews before I purchased this refrigerator, I wish I did! On the upscale price of closer to the $3000 mark, I feel I got a lemon. I loved the look, style, features, and all the different slide out drawers and compartments. I was sold! This is everything I could want in a refrigerator. Then came the disappointment... In the first year, it was getting ice build up on the inside of the refrigerator. Repair said it some kind of software problem, wasnt programmed correctly or something. It is the second year I have it, it will be in November 2016 two years old. Not working again, repair tech says this time the compressor is SHOT!!! REALLY that is the heart of the unit, in two years. So it is under warranty for the part but not the labor. So it will cost $450 to fix. On Tuesday they were supposed to expedite the part. Its Saturday and Im still waiting. I thought expedite meant send it NOW! I wrote a few emails to LG, they responded, Were sorry for your troubles and inconvenience. We have sent your concerns to complaint dept. Blah blah blah. Wont ever buy another LG product.

We bought our LG refrigerator 5 years. This was a $3500 unit. 1 week past the additional warranty we bought with Home Depot, the fridge stops cooling. We had an appliance repair technician come out and look at it. They indicated it is a sealed system issue. We were advised to reach out to LG as this should be covered under the LG warranty and a known issue. The tech told us it would be a battle to get the warranty honored, and it seems they are right. Im a professional mechanic and electronics tech. I just had to replace a relay and two corroded microswitches due to poor design of the icemaker hatch. Weak return springs prevent a tight seal when not in use, allowing moisture from ice melt to drip down past the hatch and, as evidenced by mineral scale, into the chamber containing the relay board, front panel control board, and the in-door ice and water lever microswitches (!). Observed heavy corrosion on electronic parts and fasteners inside, as well as around the front seal where it meets the metallic enclosure. The front seal, intended to prevent moisture intrusion from the exterior of the unit, instead prevents moisture introduced by the ice chute from escaping the chamber. This oversight exposes control boards and electronic parts and connectors to sustained high-humidity environment (!). Control boards inside are not potted (no resin/silicone/thermoplastic encapsulation) and there are no rubber seals on electrical connectors contained within. ICs, pads, and components on the front panel control board show corrosion and, in my opinion, are not long for the world. Ive added a desiccant pack inside the chamber and a bead of silicone sealant under the defective icemaker hatch behind the front bezel to mitigate the design oversight and hopefully extend the life of my investment. Rust at the bottom of the front control panel may be an indicator of the problem described above on your unit.Additionally, the linear compressor used in this fridge is currently the focus of a class action lawsuit (which I am not party to). LG asserted that these units can have up to a 20 year lifespan (avg of 14 years) but have had a significant portion of units fail starting around the 3-year mark. My compressor is still functioning for now but Ive purchased a 3rd party wireless temperature monitoring panel with sensors for both compartments to mitigate the risk of foodborne illness associated with a failing compressor. This appliance is at best, a very poor investment. At worst, it is a hazard to my wife and children. Moisture intrusion behind the front panel presents a reliability problem, a mold hazard, and a fire hazard due to the line voltage connections within. The poor design choices make it clear that the engineers involved with the project had some serious deficiencies in failure mode analysis, fail-safe design, and keeping with good engineering principals. Ive experienced similar design oversights involving moisture control with other LG products Ive owned and maintained (LG window unit AC, LG Waveforce washer and dryer) and will never purchase another LG appliance. Longevity is important to me, but does not seem to be a priority for LG. My wife thinks it looks pretty in our kitchen, so theres that I suppose. Hopefully the compressor fails and I can get this stylish lemon out of here soon..

Bought this French door LG refrigerator in May 2015 model number- LFXS307668. Paid 3200.00 for it. Leaking water on the floor, not cooling, all food ruined. Been through much of what the others have noted. Run around from LG. Told by a certified LG repairman he has received at least 30 calls this week with the same issue- freon leak, compressor, evaporator, etc. Huge cost to repair. Quoted 700.00 for labor only, no warranty after 90 days from repair and it can easily take a month to get parts as they are backlogged. What a money pit! Wish I would have read these reviews before purchasing. NEVER buying an LG product again. There should be a class action law suit against this company. The LG was bought by my parents and they chose it because of the sleek design and positive reviews. It was recommended by Best Buy employees. They said that it was the best refrigerator on the market for the price. It kept things cold, had lots of space, vegetable crispers. It also had a freezer up top that was very roomy. We loved it!! It also lasted a long time when the power went off. An egg container would have been nice to have, also the ice maker would break very frequently or not create ice for long periods of time. I purchased an LG dishwasher for my newly renovated kitchen, it was professional installed the first of May right before the final acceptance of the renovation. The plumbers tested the dishwasher and all appeared ok, I never had a chance to even use it once. On May 9th I walked into the kitchen to find three inches of water in the kitchen and dining/living rooms, with water pouring out from the dishwasher. It was inspected by the factory rep from LG that a clip on one end of water hose was missing and determined this was a factory defect. Since there was extensive damage to three Persian rugs floating in water, furniture and areas behind the newly installed cabinets I filed a claim with LG and after 4 months they still have not made a reasonable offer to reimburse me for the damages their defective product caused. Very very poor customer service. Will never purchase another LG product and would not recommend their products to anyone.

Few days after purchasing LMHM2017ST, we would hear a squeaky noise from the turntable when on. It seemed just slightly bothersome then and so live with it.A few months later, numbers on the touch keypad stopped working one by one. Now most of them dont work. Also many other buttons are not working. The fan and light buttons are also not working causing these features not be available anymore. Next, another issue cropped up - the microwave switches on, on its own, as soon as the door is opened. So there are now multiple problems in a short duration of gentle use. I called LG customer service but they offered to send someone to fix these issues for a charge of $185 + tax. They would give only 60 days warranty and only on the services performed. They will not guarantee on anything else. It seems they know that there can arise even more problems in future. All lights were flashing and I have not been able to contact LG service lines to report this and inquire into what on earth happened. I will never buy LG again as there are no service people in our city who will touch it. The one company who will service this product put the control panel in upside down when I replaced it and I had to have them make another house call to fix the mess. My refrigerator was purchased in August 2017. Now 13 months later this 1200$ item died between 5:30 in the evening and 8 pm. It was dead. I have called LG every day since and get sent from one person to another. They did not even have a tech in my area, small-town in AZ. Finally got one out a week later. The main board went out. 400$ plus for the part, 4 to 6 weeks to get one. By the time Im am done, if ever it will cost almost as much as mine did new for the repair. Stay away from LG!!!

Bought a stove from lg. This is a $2000 stove. New to lg. Just came out in 2016. About 3 months after purchase the stove needed a new brain, 2 thermostats and sensors!!! I need a new stove. LG executive customer service was rude and relentless. They would not replace the defective stove stating it just needs to be fixed. For peace of mind and for your sake do not buy Lg products. They care nothing about the consumer after they get your money.

In 2015 I bought all my LG appliances just to get to the 4 yr with them when all came apart. Just in this yr my microwave stop working, my stove supposed to be fitting 5 pots, it only fits 3 on it. My wall oven broke as well, but my worse nightmare is the experience I’m going through with my refrigerator, a MODEL: LMXS30776S/01. This refrigerator has stop cooling and making ice 3 times this yr, between April and November. I called the warranty company and they throw the ball to LG, LG keep sending this A&E Factory service to work on this refrigerator and for the second time in this month they supposedly fixed and leave saying that it would take 24 hrs for the fridge to cool again, 24 hrs passed and The fridge still not working.LG customer service keep say that they can’t replace the unit until the technician writes in his report that the unit is unrepairable. Meanwhile they have the customer without a fridge for almost a month. Christmas is around the corner and this is becoming a nightmare. All I keep hearing from the technician is that this is happening a lot with LG Appliances and LG stead of replacing or reimburse the money prefers to keep expending money paying to service companies.

LG French Door Refrigerator LFX28968ST - Life is NOT good with this particular fridge. Before warranty was over the plastic shelves on door began cracking and chipping, the ice maker in the door does not work. It freezes up and does not crush ice, and you cannot remove the bucket that the ice drops into. Doors do not closed tightly. Bad design, bad mechanism. The stainless steel doors, are made of a very low grade Stainless steel, does not clean properly. Bought refrigerator because older side by side GE failed after 20 years, thought I was upgrading my fridge with the LG. WRONG. I would never purchase any LG product based on my experience with the Refrigerator.

In 2008 I purchased a four piece kitchen appliance set from LG. Within a year the knobs on the stove started to cracked. I was not aware that there was a recall in 2010 to replace these knobs. Since purchasing this set I have had to replace the dishwasher and the refrigerator as both of them stopped working or begin leaking to the point of repair costing more than replacement. I contacted LG about the knobs recently and they informed me that if I was the original purchaser they would replace the knobs one time for free. After one month of waiting I did not receive the knobs and gave them a call. They then informed me that my request was denied which is why I did not receive the knobs. According to their records my stove was unaffected by this issue. I offered to supply them with pictures of the knobs proving in fact my stove was affected. Not only did they not care that I would never buy LG products again but they did not even have the decency to call me and inform me that they were not going to fulfill the commitment of providing me with the knobs. For any consumer out there interested in buying an LG, I would think twice.

We bought a LG two drawer refrigerator just over a year ago and now has cracking on the interior back wall. After calling LG and the store where we purchased, we are left with no resolution. Both the store and LG says this does not fall under any of the warranties and there is nothing they can or will do. This is a $3000 paper weight at this time. It appears that there are many issues with LG backing their products. I wish I would have researched more and I would have never purchased a LG. I will never purchase a LG product again and will not give any recommendation to anyone to purchase a LG.

We purchased an LG range and it was delivered on Dec. 14th. When I tried to convection/bake something at 225 degrees, it automatically went to 300 degrees. I tried putting a lower temperature in and the same thing happened, jumped right to 300 degrees. I called customer service and they told me that it needed to be serviced and set up a technician to come out on the following Tuesday. When the technicians came out (who were very unprofessional and unskilled), They replaced the main electronics panel. The oven still did the same thing. They called technical support at LG and the technician did not know why it did not fix the problem. He went to LGs test kitchen and found that all ovens of this model only convect at 300 degrees or higher. After speaking to a manager, LG informed me that there is nothing they can do and couldnt tell me if they have any oven brands that convection/bake below 300 degrees. The manager actually hung up on me and did not transfer me to anyone who could give me this information. My question is..... has anyone had this problem with LG ovens. Do other brands convection/bake below 300 degrees? We had a Hamilton beach countertop convection oven that would cook at lower temperatures. Is this just a feature on full size ranges?

I purchased an LG Refrigerator Door-in-Door in December 2015. On September 14, 2014 I woke up to water all over my kitchen floor due to ice melted in freezer. First thing was to use troubleshooting guide. Did all resets suggested with no results. Called LG and went through all that again with them. Was told to reset and wait 24 hrs then check and call if not cooling. Needless to say this did not work. I lost a freezer and refrigerator full of food. All spoiled. Following Saturday a repairman came out and said that compressor was gone. They ordered a compressor on September 22, 2016. Today is Oct. 10, 2016 and I still have no resolution.I have made many calls both to LG and the place supposedly responsible for repair with no satisfaction. I have never encountered such poor customer service in my life. I just walked around my home and realized that I have 3 LG TVs, a Blu Ray, refrigerator, and microwave. Therefore it is obvious I have spent a lot of money on LG products. I now see that the company does not stand behind its products so I will not purchase any more of their merchandise. As I looked through the reviews I see that I am not alone. LG MUST NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR CONSUMERS. So as customers we need to let them know that there is no excuse for such poor workmanship or service.

Bought a black stainless LG fridge 2 years ago. So far, LG has had to come out to repair it 4 times. 3 times for the ice/water dispensers not shutting off, this last time for the compressor breaking. We lost hundreds of dollars in food. On top of that, my $2,000+ fridge has the black stainless coating peeling all over. These coatings are terrible. You will be disappointed. At just under three years of being in service this model (31925ST) requires significant repairs that are of course not covered by warranty. I have utilized the poorly written troubleshooting guide with no remedy. This refrigerator sounds as though a helicopter is running in my kitchen! I guess I should not be surprised. I also purchased a dishwasher from LG and a range from LG at the same time - all have had issues that are dismissed as cosmetic items like the stove knobs melting, the plastic calibration strip off or the dishwasher rack that does not remain in position. I will go back to GE! The stainless steel on LG is so thin that by looking at it wrong it seems to dent!

My husband and I purchased an LG Refrigerator, model number LFC23760ST. It was delivered on 6/17/2009. About 1 month later, we experienced getting shocked while reaching for food items while holding on to the door. We called LG, and they told us to call an authorized repair agency and gave us 2 names. We called both of those companies and neither would come to look at our appliance. They said that LG doesnt pay them. We called LG. They told my husband that it must be a problem with the house and not the refrigerator. My husband talked to them on many more occasions, and they said that they would send someone, but no one ever came. Now, the refrigerator completely went out. On October 12th 2011, we called LG. They gave us the same name (1 now) of an authorized repair agency. We called them and they do not come to our area. So, apparently, we never have had any warranty on this product. We did get Sears appliance repair to come out. It turns out to be a blown fuse that is soldered to a control panel. So, $369.00 later and another week without a refrigerator (to order the part), did the short causing us to be shocked cause the fuse to go out? When the repair gets made, will we still get shocked? Why is LG not more concerned about my well-being and that of husbands, and should there be death or serious injury before they will show care at all? Or maybe, the only time they will care is if they are sued and it hurts their pocket book? It has hurt mine both in repairs and loss of groceries. I dont know if anything can be done about this situation but I will never purchase another LG product, and I will tell as many people who will listen not to do so as well. Always remember, if you have a warranty repair on an LG product, no one will come!

I purchased for LG appliances at a local appliance store. The gas range that I purchased is model number LRG 3194. The first time that I used it, the black cast iron coating scratched off the stove grates, leaving silver looking scratches. This was the very first time that I use the stove. I am so disappointed in the very poor quality and even more so when I called up and got the runaround. The LG representative told me that I needed to have the store call them to have somebody come out. Meanwhile the store is the one who told me to call LG.I have no faith in this product at all and I dont see how a representative coming out is going to be able to repair these grates because its just going to happen again. I am currently awaiting the 4th product that I purchased which is on backorder, a dishwasher which I will not be accepting. I will never buy another LG product again.

I bought LG refrigerator from Costco back in Feb 24 2016. It was 30 cubic feet and I paid almost $2700. Nightmare started couple of weeks ago and it is ongoing. Refrigerator stop cooling, I called lg. They told me to reset and wait for 8 hrs which I did. Nothing happened, called again. They said it suppose to be 24 hrs wait, I waited 24 hrs. Nothing happened, called back again. They send the lg technician. He said faulty compressor in that kind of fridge with tons of other complains. He said they will take 6 weeks or more to repair due to so many complaints and back order on compressor. We have a tiny refrigerator right now we are using as a backup, but it can only hold milk and butter, I called costco, explained my situation to Isaac one of the manager in Victorville store near my house, and ask him to make a exception returning it due to such a long time for repair and upcoming holidays, he consulted his superior and they declined to return, but he said he contacted lg and told them about the time frame for repair, lg told him they will try to find a repair shop which can repair it sooner.Oh by the way the lg technician told me that lg used plastic ring instead of metal in compressor to save few bucks. That ring melts quickly. Thats why they are having so many complaints, according to that lg technician compressor supposed to last for 10 years. I am still waiting the response from costco and lg. My advice to consumers not buy large appliances from costco due to their scam. 100% satisfaction guarantee policy which only cover for 90 day. It is ridiculous, also lg technical support is very unsupportive and their refrigerators are faulty, unless you would like to have a nightmare like I am going through.

Bought a brand new LG Top Freezer Refrigerator in Nov 2012 at Home Depot. It was working well & ran quiet. It has pretty good style & is functional. However, a little after a year in early 2014 the refrigerator started to act up. It was getting very noisy, and I noticed some ice build up at the back of the freezer interior. I tried to troubleshoot the problem, and tried to adjust the setting to make it less cold, but it didnt work. The fridge was get so loud I had to unplug it once in a while. I was fed up with the noise & the ice buildup, & decided to remove all the foods & defrost the fridge for half a day. Once the ice melted away & I plugged the refrigerator back the noise disappeared. I thought that solved the problem... Was I wrong. The troubleshoot helped to eliminate the annoying loud noise for a week & the noisy starting to creep back. And I noticed the freezer and fridge temperature was not cold enough. I found ice cream in the freezer was soften. Weeks went by, I just continue to struggle with the fridge. I finally bought two thermometer to monitor the freezer & refrigerator temp. The freezer was in the 30s and the fridge was in the 40s to 50. I realized miracle would not happened by waiting & contacted LG.I contacted the local authorized repair service, and I spent $170 for the 2 hr diagnosis service. The tech told me the sealed system was leaking - that was why the freezer had ice buildup, & the fan built out due to the ice buildup. The back of the freezer was frozen solid with ice when the tech opened the panel. I contact LG about the results of the diagnosis and I insisted LG should cover the cost of the repair for the leak & the burned out fan. I had to went back and forth with LG and the repair service for more than a week to get them to agree that the repair should be covered by the warranty. And LG agreed to pay for the parts but not the labor. The repair service quote me $450 plus but could be more. At that time I was furious. I paid $800 something plus tax on this fridge, and they expected me to spend $600 to $700 to repair it. No way Jose!! It was painful to let go a good looking fridge that still look brand new, but I decided to cut the loss & went to Sears to get a Kenmore for less than $600 before tax. Interestingly at Sears, I saw a Kenmore model with the exact interior design of the LG fridge I bought... scary!! Customers, please watch out that you dont buy a Kenmore fridge that make by LG. I will have my Kenmore fridge deliver today. This time I bought a extended 5-year warranty just to be on the safe side.

I recently purchased over 10k in appliances from Home Depot and the Studio line of LG ranges is an engineering nightmare. As others have expressed on their reviews, this range (LG Studio 6.3) presents a very risky and dangerous fire hazard. We did a complete remodel on a new beach house and used all studio LG products, we do not even as yet occupy the house and have never cooked on the stove, nonetheless, mere bumping of the knobs will cause them to turn on unbeknownst to the passerby... Our new 150k custom kitchen would have been set alight if my husband had not smelled the smoke from another room. This has already happened 3 times in the month the range has been installed with no one actually occupying the residence! In disbelieve I did a google search and lo and behold this seems to be a common denominator for all LG range owners. I have contacted Home Depot and LG (Blah blah... We will send a tech. Lol.) however my brother who is a NASA engineer had a look and determined it is an engineering design flaw. It appears LG is closing this model out however if they had any credibility they will recall this immediately before there is serious injury or death... If there has not been already. I am speaking with a law firm next week about a possible class action suit and will post on this site with any information. If you are considering this product, you should do this with the utmost caution, it is a dangerous design.

We purchased new appliances from ABC Warehouse back in December of 2019. We chose LG due to the price and the aesthetics. We purchased a washer, dryer, fridge, two ovens, microwave, stovetop, hood and dishwasher. We were set to move into our home on Feb 7th of 2020. The last week of January we received all appliances except the hood vent and dryer. At this time, ABC said LG rep was not getting back to them and they had no time table on when the other two appliances would be delivered. Since the other appliances have been delivered, we have called 4 times to get some sort of answers and each time they either redirect us to ABC (who has tried contacting LG but has been unsuccessful) or they say the appliances will get there eventually... We have now been in our home for a month and unable to use our stovetop nor do any laundry. LG customer service has been horrible to work with as they are giving us no answers nor are they being friendly on the phone. I am extremely dissatisfied with LG and at this point I would not purchase LG appliances in the future nor recommend them to others.

My experience with LG is good, but since we bought our fridge, about two weeks later, the ice making part freezes. Throws errors LG refused to fix. 2 months old. 3 errors. Model WT7060CV: We purchased from well known retailer, upgraded all external hoses, faucet, etc. at time they installed. Within 2 weeks, started getting errors requiring reset, that worked, now at 2 months of light usage, vacation home, the error claims no water coming into tub. The symptoms however are conflicting: water fills tub and washes, then as it goes into spin, error thrown, tub drains, washer stops working, items in washer are wet. Now we cant get washer to work at all, the current error says requires repair person, we call retailer, they give us LG Customer Service, customer service tells us the problem is no water is coming into tub, I explained that was not the case and reiterated symptoms. We did video call with LG, they found no problem and said the hose must be clogged since no water was coming in. We said yes water is coming in, they said to clean the filters which required taking back off of washer but they wouldnt stay on the call to assist, I said water is coming in and seems odd that after 2 months the filters have to be cleaned and I am not comfortable doing this on my own, they said to stop repeating myself and hung up on me. They gave us 2 repair people in Seattle, 1 out of business, 1 never called back. I asked for repair services closer to East side because anyone further out wont drive to our location, they gave me 2 that are further away than first repair service. Retailer told us LG was supposed to call repair service not us.Now the retailer, who really has been super helpful is dealing with LG and is going to pay for an LG repair company closer to our location that is not on LG authorized list to go out to try to repair the machine. The retailer told me LG is extremely difficult to work with when issues occur with their products. Lesson learned. DONT BUY LG, I now have a shiny new 2 month old washing machine that does not work and neither the retailer or LG will take back. The good news... The dryer works fine. So far.

Purchased an LG side by side refrigerator from Home Depot 3/2018 with a 5-yr protection plan. 7/2/2019 the ice dispenser wouldnt stop running after crushing ice. Couldnt get it to stop. Had to disconnect refrigerator while waiting for service. Called both LG & Home Depot to report the problem. LG claimed the repair service was scheduled for July 4th which I questioned because it is a Holiday. Called again next day 7/3 to be sure and was told it was scheduled for 7/4 between noon & 5:00pm waiting for ordered part. I asked about ordering a part if no one was out yet to see what the problem was. No one came. Repair company (very rude) said they werent scheduled until 7/11. Lost $600 in food plus cost of purchasing ice. LG will only reimburse $200. No resolution yet.

I unfortunately purchased an LG brand front load washer and dryer from Home Depot. I wish I would have done some research first because it would have saved me a lot of problems. The washer is very high maintenance in which you have to drain it and clean out the trap. At least once a month, there are cleaning pouches that Tide makes that you have to use to clean out the washer. It seems no matter how often I use the pouches and drain it, my clothes have a musty smell. One of my biggest complaints is that I can not wash a lot of my blankets and comforters because they get too heavy and off balance the drum no matter if I try repositioning them.

We purchased a new LG refrigerator when we purchased our home in 2017. We had renovations going on and our right hand door was damaged/dented by a contractor. The contractor offered to replace the door so I contacted an LG recommend appliance parts and service place to replace the door. A week later they returned with a substitute that did not work so they said they would be back a couple of weeks when the correct door came in, that was October 2018 and I have been waiting ever since. All my phone calls to the appliance repair people end with them saying it still has not come in, it’s on backorder. At one point I called LG who confirmed the door is on backorder! Seriously it has been almost a year. Of course I had to pay the appliance repair person for the house call even though I told them the door needed to be replaced due to dents but they said that money would go towards the new door. At this point I am not sure I am going to get a new door. Had I realized we would receive such poor customer service I never would have gone with LG, we also purchased a 65” LG TV, and washer and dryer. I hope LG will help us with our dilemma.
