I bought the washer and dryer three years ago. Six months after the purchase the hot water stopped going into the washer so I just washed with cold. I had two techs check out this machine. One couldnt figure out what was wrong and the second told me I need a whole control panel. That was to the tune of $400.00 plus service call. Now you are wondering why I didnt get this cared for during the first six months. Well I had brain surgery and even had to learn to walk again so that washer was not my priority at that time. Guess Ill continue with cold water. Never again!!!

Our 3-year old LG refrigerator stopped working overnight right before we left on a trip. Dalton **, our LG Technician, worked with us to assess the repair need, which was a compressor, and made sure that he could repair the refrigerator before he left town. He is great at what he does technically but, more than that, he is professional and gives great service. Unfortunately, we lost a great deal of food and almost lost valuable heart medication. So, we did apply for compensation for some of our food. The LG person overseeing our account was the best and kept in touch with us via telephone to ensure that we submitted the appropriate information. Overall, it was a wonderful experience. Thank you so much. Love LG!

I purchased the LG WT5101HW Wave Series ultra large capacity high efficiency top load washer with LED display, ColdWash technology, 1100 RPM, energy star compliant on January 1, 2011 after spending hours on Consumer Reports looking for the best machine. I purchased the machine from Appliance Connection and even though they encouraged me to purchase the extended warranty, I did not. I now have an EO error that will not go away. I checked on the LG website and the only remedy was to remove the hose and look for blockages and to check the filter. I did check the hose, there was no kinking and no blockage. There is no filter in the drain line, the only filters are in the hot and cold water supply lines which have nothing to do with water draining from the machine. The only way to get the machine to drain is to have the line lower than the tub, which is not feasible because I do not want the dirty water draining on the floor or for that matter, anywhere other than the drain line. When the error occurred, the machine had a load of towels and we had to wring the towels out and remove the water manually by dipping it out with a small bucket. This took a great deal of time and energy. The LG representative told me that I need a service call and the company that performs the maintenance is 1.5 hours from where I live and cannot respond until Friday between 8 and noon. This is very frustrating to have an issue that may or may not be corrected before the weekend because the technician may or may not have the parts. I also checked the company that is to respond to the service call and they have had several negative comments from former customers. I have now read the comments on this site and am apprehensive as to whether I will have a satisfactory outcome. I am also contacting Consumer Reports since I relied on their evaluation of this washer. I also purchased a dryer and I did get a 4-year extended warranty, which I will probably need. I had a Maytag washer that is now being used by my son and his college roommates. I may ask for it back!

So the LG WM0642H was a highly rated washing machine by Consumer Reports. Well after 5 years it stopped working. I dont think that a highly rated machine should die after 5 years. Extra cold crisper takes 15 min to get drinks cold. Everything stays fresh long. Insta view and door to door. You will be very happy with your selection of LG fridges. I would improve the fridge to a more standard size fridge for easy apartment removable, refrigerator is beautiful, elegant, and organized and you can enjoy a nice cold beer or soda after installation. It has a lot of electronic stuff on it that is very use. Refrigerator is worth the price. Its slick design and advanced features far exceeds any other product comparison. Im a LG signature customer full in keeping everything cold. Only owned an LG.

I bought an LG refrigerator model No.195NC5 on 06.10.09. I noticed recently that the body paint at the bottom is rusted and still peeling off. I contacted your technician through my dealer at Kottakkal in Malappuram dist. The technician informed me that the warranty period is over and theres nothing to do. Though the complaint noticed recently it occurred, quite early, within one year of purchase. I am not only a customer of LG refrigerator but I have LG TV, LG PC and likely to buy an LG washing machine. I expect your favorable action.

Our refrigerator died right before the warranty expired ($3000 unit!). We have been 3 weeks without a fridge, lost hundreds of dollars worth of food, and are CONSTANTLY having to call customer service to get something done. The local repair service they sent out could not fix, yet I received an email from LG stating that it was fixed, and to take a survey. We speak with someone daily, and now just want them to get this POS out of our house and refund our money. So, even though they have ALL my info from registering the product.... I had to send them receipt copies. And THEN I get a return email stating, Unfortunately, I am away from my email right now, but I will reply as quickly as I can. This was less than 5 minutes after we spoke with her. After reading reviews, I wish I never bought this fridge. It looks like we will have to contact the BBB, and perhaps a lawyer. Will also be contacting Home Depot (where we bought it). DO NOT BUY LG PRODUCTS! Unless you like getting the runaround.

Ive read plenty of horror stories about LGs microwaves on this website, to include how bad the customer service is. I purchased my LG LMV1683ST /00 over-the-range microwave in 2014 (product was manufactured June 2013). Since then, we have had the control board (LEDs burnt out) and the turntable motor (really bad squeal) replaced (in the first year!), and I just had the control board replaced again, today (when you close the door the internal light turns on, and turntable spins, even though I didnt command them to). I was able to get the warranty work done by contacting Lowes (where it was purchased), and they sent out repairmen in a timely manner. For the latest repair, I had to contact LG directly. After reading reviews of other peoples experiences dealing with customer service, I decided not to deal with them, and instead, requested to be immediately transferred to a supervisor. I explained (in a calm, not demanding manner) how this unit has already had 2 repairs, and now needs another one. He understood my concerns, and setup an appointment for a repairman to come out, at no charge. I stated that I thought the issue was the control board again. The repairman came today (LG repairman), was very personable, and had a new control board in hand. Microwave was repaired in 10 minutes, and were back up and running. In summary, the customer service experience was good (because I spoke directly with a supervisor), but the quality of the product is substandard. Lets see how long it takes for something else to fail.

Ive had numerous problems with my LG Washer TROMM WM2688. There is bellows hose underneath the tub that gets a hole in it and leaks every few months. It takes about an hour and a half to fix it. I’m on my 5th bellows hose now. It just went out again. Ive also had the water fill valve get stuck on and stay on. I had to replace it. It also has a problem with draining the water from the tub. I get an error saying water is not draining. You hit restart from the pause and it will continue. It could be the pump out, the sensor out, or the control board out. Not sure yet. If I couldn’t work on it myself, I would have spent enough on service to buy a new one. It wouldn’t be an LG. I’ll buy no LG products.

After 20 years and replacing many parts on my trustworthy but not flawless
After 20 years and replacing many parts on my trustworthy but not flawless Maytag washer and dryer, I finally convinced my wife we should invest in a new set. Unfortunately, we didnt do our homework... she liked the LG set she saw at Home Depot, and away we went. I have to say, Ive made more expensive mistakes in my life, but not many.Theres not much to add that hasnt already been said here, regarding the uneven load syndrome and the fact that it takes all day and probably hundreds of gallons of water to finish what should be a 50 minute load on a water saving machine. Unlike others on this or other forums, I have NOT called LG. Based on all the horror stories I read on every repair site online, it seems pointless to even try. There seems to be NO recognition by LG at the vast extent of this problem with their products, and from what I see, no recourse by consumers. Of those who have gotten repair work done, many incurred significant expense for something that never should have happened in the first place. And for many, the repair (software, new circuit board, etc) was ineffective. The sad part is, I see no responsibility shared by any of the major retailers who sell these products.Im with everyone else - I will never purchase another LG product as long as I live, and Im really stuck with a decision of throwing away a washer that is under a year old, or living with this stupid thing until it craps out. Its apparent I will NEVER get my moneys worth out of it, so it seems pointless to hang onto it any longer really. The best we can do, I feel, is write to the retailers from whom we purchased these LG products and tell them about the issues, and let them know were not happy with their continued decision to sell LG products.

WM4270H and DLEX4070. Cleaner clothes than the horrible Maytag Neptune/dryer is done before next load in washer. Units are 4 years old. Very quiet operation. Wanted a dryer with a steam fresh option which this LG does have. Washer does not wear out clothes as previous Maytag unit. Regular repairs and quality of construction, very important to me. Unit still looks brand new after 4 years of use and not the first problem with units. I had nice shirts that were stained with grease. Previous unit did not remove those stains so used shirts for the lawn. Used the sanitary cycle on the LG washer with no change in detergents and stains were removed. I am assuming this is due to the LG heating up the water that dissolve the grease.

We bought LG French Door Refrigerator in 2012, ever since then we kept having issues and paid for Repair. I already spent over $1000 on repair within 5 years. And my Refrigerator is no longer useful without new compressor installation. Now Freon gas leak, compressor fail, with out of warranty, I need to pay almost $460 again for New compressor installation. Customer service is not organized; they give few numbers of authorized service center which they do not install compressor or not in service in my area. I Spent time on calling back to customer service several times. Well, now we need to dispose crappy refrigerator and will pay for a new one. Do not buy LG Appliances. Worst experience I have had as a consumer - ever. I ordered an LG microwave 1/3/18 through a third-party, AJ Madison. It was delayed weeks (not LGs fault), when I finally received it and plugged it in it had a code of death - F11. It never worked, not even ONE SECOND. That was middle of March. Its now May 3, 2018. I have sent in repeated receipts, responded to their letters, requests for more information, taken pictures, cut up serial numbers, signed declarations that I did in fact buy the microwave. Gotten the third party involved and had them try on my behalf to no avail! They now want me to send them a receipt having bought a second one of these before theyll send me my money back for the January 3, 2018 purchase! Im on hold again with LG, 26 minutes into it and the customer service wants to explain the process to me - youve got to be kidding me. LG, as a very American, cooperative consumer who has purchased 14 appliances in the last year and done lots of shopping - this is the WORST customer service experience I have ever had!

We purchased a $2000.00 refrigerator from Lowes a week ago and we already have to have the repair man out to fix a leak. He came to the first appointment right on time, diagnosed the broken line, and said he would order the part and call when it came in and to set the next appointment. Great! Well this was on Tuesday, it is now Saturday. I decided to call to see what is going on. I got a hold of the customer service rep and he advised me that the appointment was set for today being Saturday, between 1 and 3. I let him know that I had not received any call to set up any appointments, but OK Im home. It is now 5:30 pm, Saturday and no repair man, no call. I called Customer Service and the rude woman on the phone said he will be there between 1 and 5 pm. I explained to her the time I was told and she proceeds to argue with me, so I bit my lip and said OK. I called at 5:45 pm because we are getting ready to make dinner and didnt want to be in the techs way and him in ours. I believe I got the same rude person and she said he will be there when he gets there. Lessons learned: (1) dont purchase anything from Lowes (Lowes did say I could bring it back, which is a hassle because it is full and I dont have anywhere to put the food); (2) dont buy anything from LG. I’ve owned this stove for approx 1 1/2 years and in this time my roommate and I have nearly burned the house down TWICE. The knobs are SO easy to accidentally bump and turn on. The first time I had a bag on top of the stove and luckily noticed before it started flaming, but my roommate started an actual full on fire last night with a basket of laundry. I’ve since taken the knobs off, but have read other reviews of people who have done the same, but that bumping the stems actually turns the burners on easier than if the knobs were in place???‍♀️ Ordered some child proofing so we’ll see how that works. No issues with cooking, but it’s NOT worth the risk!

Throws errors LG refused to fix. 2 months old. 3 errors. Model WT7060CV: We purchased from well known retailer, upgraded all external hoses, faucet, etc. at time they installed. Within 2 weeks, started getting errors requiring reset, that worked, now at 2 months of light usage, vacation home, the error claims no water coming into tub. The symptoms however are conflicting: water fills tub and washes, then as it goes into spin, error thrown, tub drains, washer stops working, items in washer are wet. Now we cant get washer to work at all, the current error says requires repair person, we call retailer, they give us LG Customer Service, customer service tells us the problem is no water is coming into tub, I explained that was not the case and reiterated symptoms. We did video call with LG, they found no problem and said the hose must be clogged since no water was coming in. We said yes water is coming in, they said to clean the filters which required taking back off of washer but they wouldnt stay on the call to assist, I said water is coming in and seems odd that after 2 months the filters have to be cleaned and I am not comfortable doing this on my own, they said to stop repeating myself and hung up on me. They gave us 2 repair people in Seattle, 1 out of business, 1 never called back. I asked for repair services closer to East side because anyone further out wont drive to our location, they gave me 2 that are further away than first repair service. Retailer told us LG was supposed to call repair service not us.Now the retailer, who really has been super helpful is dealing with LG and is going to pay for an LG repair company closer to our location that is not on LG authorized list to go out to try to repair the machine. The retailer told me LG is extremely difficult to work with when issues occur with their products. Lesson learned. DONT BUY LG, I now have a shiny new 2 month old washing machine that does not work and neither the retailer or LG will take back. The good news... The dryer works fine. So far.

LG fridge bought in Aug. 2017. Worked good for almost 2 years, and then the madness started in July 2019. As of today the compressor has been changed, then a 2nd trip to fix a leak supposedly, 2 weeks after that the ice maker quits working. Technician is now saying it is the flanges on the freezer doors not sealing properly. Technician orders parts and I get a call today from the parts department saying that parts are on backorder and they have no clue how long it may be. I will never buy an LG appliance again. $2000.00 just does not buy you what it used to. If LG would just own up and say they are selling a defective product and make it right, it might not be so bad. But all they keep doing is kicking the can down the road. I am officially, over it. If something is not done soon, I am to the point of trying to see if I can do anything legally. There has to be a lemon law or something like that on products like this.

We purchased all LG appliances in 2012, I had to replace the microwave in 2015 and again in 2018, they just stopped working. This last one I had stopped working 1/2 thru cooking, the turntable stopped turning and it would not heat. 3 microwaves since 2012... These are not made to last, its sad, I liked it when it was working, I would not purchase this brand again... And when I complained to LG all I got told was, Sorry. Its not under warranty. JUNK.

The knobs on my NEW THREE MONTH OLD stove are so touchie I’ve turned them on without even knowing, and have it catch on fire on my glass top and burned myself trying to put it out. This was on 7/21/18. I called the company and emailed SEVERAL times. Getting told, they will get back to me even after I told them how dangerous the knobs are and it happens all the time. I told them I’m scared children or adults can seriously be burned. Then I sent them pictures and kept getting the runaround because I didn’t need to go to the emergency room they said. (I was not trying to sue them) just let them know how dangerous it is. I now have permanent fire damage on my three month old glass stove top. I asked if they could fix it and the phone supervisor (accidentally) hung up on me when I called back with my case number. They said they have no record of me calling at all. And have not seen the faxed pictures they told me to send. Then today 12/7/18 same thing happened and once again. This time a big fire we had to put out. Now my pretty glass top stove looks terrible but lucky no major fire damage - just a terrible looking stove. The sad thing is I have LG stove, microwave, refrigerator, washer and dryer. You think a big company like their’s would take this seriously.

I thought I had purchased a great 30 cubic French door refrigerator 5 years ago for $3k but I was wrong! I have been without a working refrigerator since Super Bowl Sunday 2017, it is now April 20th 2017 and still have no working refrigerator! LG had sent out their contractor a number of times and the back freezer fan and compressor has been changed twice and the gas valve changed and still it doesnt work! Customer service and executive team cant seem to help a mom with toddlers. I have been treated horribly, LG doesnt care! I recently went looking at new appliances at Home Depot and they recommend LG until I told them my story and that awesome salesman will no longer recommend LG! I will continue to tell my story until something is done to repair my fridge!

LG Easy Clean option is a terrible oven. It will not get clean using water. Customer Service recommend using a scrapper, but not too harsh. Cannot use chemical cleaning. Water alone and scrapper will not fully clean oven. Extremely dissatisfied. I thought the easy clean option meant self cleaning. Do not buy this product unless you dont care about having a spot free oven. Did not get my monies worth. Paid 800 dollars, why would I think it didnt come with a self cleaning option?

We bought an LG Front loading washer and dryer from Sears about 1 1/2 years ago. We immediately encountered sporadic occurrences of what looks like oil streaks from the washer. We called Sears and they sent someone out, who replaced the tub and some other items, and also told us to use a different kind of detergent. A few months and a few ruined items of clothing later, we called Sears again and they sent someone out who replaced a bunch of stuff again. They then sold us an extended warranty on the washer. We thought Sears sold it to us, but it turns out we bought it from LG. So the problem has continued and weve called LG, who is telling us that our complaint doesnt fall under the terms of the warranty, that we are complaining about cosmetic outcomes of the laundry. Crazy us, expecting a brand new washer to clean our clothes and not leave grease streaks. They have been horrible to work with. They are offering to refund the warranty which, of course, allows them to walk away from us completely. I guess well need to try and get Sears back involved, as technically we brought this to their attention under the original warranty, and it never was resolved. If you are considering buying LG, I hope you have better luck than weve had. I will never buy another product that says LG on it.

I have had my LG Side by Side fridge for 8 years. I paid $2,400 dollars for it on sale. Since that time have replaced 3 motors and the drawer pull mechanism. Right now I use packing tape and 12 can packs of Coke to keep the freezer drawer closed. Still there is water dripping in my top side by side portion. Makes no sense because the freezer is below. I have stopped even trying to use the ice maker. No water connected. Never again will I buy this brand. Total lack of concern for customer experiences or seemingly providing a quality product. This is a terrible washer. At every level it fails - light load, heavy load. When the washer reaches the spin cycle, a UE (unbalanced load error) is nearly inevitable. The washer repeatedly attempts to adjust then it resets the time and refills the tub. Manually adjusting the clothes makes no difference. Its very frustrating. I will be purchasing a GE or Kenmore later this week.

I purchased a new LG refrigerator in June 2015 and about 3 years later it stopped working. It turns out to be a faulty compressor. Even though the compressor is warrantied for 10 years I still had to pay over $300 for repair. I thought it may have been just a fluke but exactly one year later the same thing happened again. When I contacted LG they once again expect me to pay for repairs out of pocket. It is highly unreasonable that a refrigerator would not last past 3 years and then the repaired compressor would once again failed in just a year. Am I expected to have to pay $300 a year from now on to have an operating fridge? Ive owned this fridge for well under 5 years and this should not be the case. Needless to say I will not be purchasing another LG appliance.

Our refrigerator (model LFXC24726S) was bought at Best Buy Pacific Sales in 2/15. First there was a recall issue in the flat drawer and it kept freezing. It was fixed at no charge. Two weeks ago I went to get ice and all I got was water. My entire freezer was defrosted and the fridge part was getting increasingly warm. After calling the Geek Squad for repair and finding out that my extended warranty was applied to a Samsung fridge I had returned (did not fit properly in my kitchen) and never credited or transferred to the LG. So no warranty, even though it was not our fault. Now nearly 2 weeks later, I find out that the problem is a Freon leak and they cannot fix it. When the Geek Squad came to see about the reason for the failure of this very expensive fridge, he stated that he had 3 LGs have the same thing in the last few weeks. He noted that all the fridges were ALL approximately the same age (3 years or less). After going to corporate since I had gotten nowhere with anyone else at Best Buy, they are finally replacing it. Im hoping this wont happen again in the near future. Fridges are supposed to last more than 3 years.

I like the freezer. It has a lot of space to store different things in it. I can fit a ton of ice cream in it. I also like the shelving in it. It has tons of space to store whatever I need. But I dislike the design. I feel like there should be more controls. It should be more futuristic like have a smart display like some other refrigerator. But this refrigerator does an excellent job of keeping all our groceries cool. It was a nice refrigerator and it fits our budget at the time. I still would have like to go with a more premium model. But for now this is one of the best refrigerator. If I could change something about this refrigerator it would be to have an even bigger freezer than what we have now, right now its fine but it always good to have more space or if the ice machine could produce ice faster.

I purchased LG washing machine model #WT5101HW on 6-26-2011. In December, I realized that the hot/cold cycle was not hot. The water was really not even warm. I called LG and after speaking to numerous people, they agreed to send a tech out. On December 20, 2011, the tech arrived only to inform me that it was an ongoing problem and there was nothing he could do. It was the way LG designed the machine. On the hot cycle, it adds both hot and cold water so that is why it is not hot. I was furious! I called LG and they informed me that if I wanted to wash my clothes in hot water to use the sanitary cycle which is a 3 hour cycle or the bright whites cycle. My washing machine has an internal heater that is supposed to heat the water to 122 degrees on bright whites and 158 on sanitary. On my bright whites, it is only 90 degrees and not sure what it is on sanitary. LG is advertising that they have a hot cycle when in fact it is not hot and it makes no sense to add cold water to perfectly good hot water and then heat it back up! How is this energy efficient? I called LG again today and now I am being informed that the heater only works on sanitary and if I want hotter water on my cycles, I need to turn up my hot water heater. On page 7 on the instruction manual, it clearly says, the heater increases water temperature and provides better cleaning for sanitary and bright whites.” So, even LG is admitting hotter water cleans better! This machine is a complete joke. LG should not be able to advertise that this machine has a hot cycle when it fact it does not.

My LG refrigerator LDC22735SW has broken down three times in five years, once while under warranty. Presently, the fridge is sitting in my garage due to me refusing to spend any more money to repair this junk. The last time an authorized LG technician inspected the fridge and gave me a list of parts amounting to $386.55 plus $100 service charge only to see if a compressor is needed or not. I have not been able to get a repair manual or parts to repair the fridge myself. I am very near writing LG = Lemon on the fridge and putting it in front of my yard to become part of the landscape. I have purchased several LG kitchen appliances. The overall quality is good, lots of convenience features and pleasant appearance. When they are working they are great. However if you ever need LG repair service have patience. They are the worst for scheduling your service and even worst still to actually get a technician to your appliance. This means that you are without the use of your appliance for up to 90 days or longer. Also the appliances are expensive and the warranty is only 1 year, which is standard and really burns me. When you spend nearly $2000 for an electric stove and the manufacturer only puts a 1 year warranty on it, that says something about how it was made and the level of confidence the manufacturer has in their product. I prefer American made products but sadly there aren’t many major appliances that are American made anymore.

We bought our LG Refrigerator in 2015 when we built our new house. We spent over 2k on this new refrigerator. It was fine until July 2019. Thats when it suddenly stopped working. LG sent out a service tech to repair the fridge. He replaced the compressor and other interior parts the first time. This did not fix the fridge. He came back out a second time (about a week later) and replaced the fan in the upper part of the fridge. It finally worked. Fast forward to May 2020... The fridge completely stops working again. We unplugged it and left it unplugged for a few hours. After plugging it back in, it started working again. Fast forward to Jan. 2021... Horrible sounds coming from the fan in the top part of the fridge. The next day, the fridge stops working AGAIN!! This is absolutely ridiculous. A $2000 fridge that cannot work properly for even 5 years!! LG should be ashamed of themselves. These fridges were supposed to last at least 20 years and I have already had to have it repaired. It is frustrating having to keep unplugging it and moving it all around to try and get it to work again. Not to mention the food in the fridge and freezer compartments need to be moved or left to spoil.

I am writing to complain about the product quality of our appliances. We have had all of our appliances for less than 2 years (refrigerator, dishwasher, oven, microwave) and in those 2 years we have had 3 significant issues. The dishwasher was repaired a few months ago because of a major mechanical problem causing the buttons to glitch. Our oven reeks like gasoline every time it is turned on (service request entered to be told it is out of warranty. Cannot be fixed without a $125 fee) And most recently - our brand new microwave just STOPPED working today out of nowhere. It won’t power on even though there is power to the outlet. I was told we had to pay for a service request with no guarantee on product replacement and out of pocket cost. We can’t do that again, and will be forced to buy a new microwave (not LG).The quality of our appliances is completely unacceptable. We bought new appliances and were excited to have them as part of our first home, and their quality and function have been extremely disappointing and unreliable. There is absolutely zero reason why an appliance that costs thousands of dollars should fail like these have. To add, the warranty is outdated and a sham. To give people a year warranty on crappy devices is unfair and not right. They break right outside of the warranty, forcing customers to spend hundreds on parts and labor to repairmen. I will never ever buy another LG product and will make sure I tell my friends and family the same.

2 yr old LG French door LMX31985ST/0. Repaired at 16 months (defrost grill in freezer) $300. Repaired at 28 months 4x still not working (1/4/16 to today 2/12/16) error code F ds. LGs response to us was reset the fridge using the breaker from the electrical service box). We did and have had to do for 6 weeks. Repair company replaced at our expense: freezer defrost sensor $175 parts/labor. Main board parts and labor $175. Sensor for fridge $300 parts and labor. So after paying $950 in repairs over the course of 1 year and 1 month the fridge today was dripping water on the floor from the ice maker which we find is NOT WORKING now. No error code even on the fridge!! The fridge is not cooling, the ice maker is not working, and the freezer has thawed everything overnight (so the defrost is stuck on??) So 4 repairs and it is still not working, in fact it is ON but NOT WORKING! LG will do NOTHING like this has never happened before??? Stay far away from LG and specifically the LG French Door with bottom freez
Stay far away from LG and specifically the LG French Door with bottom freezer drawer models. In general the mechanical design of the LG is 1) stupid and 2) unreliable, and 3) the service call center is staffed by script reading drones that give no useful information or satisfaction! My LG model LFX28978 is technically designed for the convenience of LG not the customer or service companies. First problem - the ice maker. Poorly designed so that the cable energizing the cube tray rotation motor was too short and managed to pull itself apart. New Ice maker needed. Second problem freezer not cold enough. Freezer Fan motor would not function. Resolution was to REPLACE the entire motherboard for the whole refrigerator unit! There are no simple relays to turn fans, lights and other necessary apparatus on and off; it all comes from the Motherboard (on board computer) so replacing that is the only answer. That is like designing a high end laptop or desktop where the CPU has to be replaced to resolve a key stroke problem! Next, water would not flow into the unit for the ice maker or the water dispenser? Problem is that at the main water input from the hose to the refrigerator there is a very complicated system where the water comes in and then goes up into the refrigerator cabin through a replaceable filter then back down the intake valve where there are more lines and solenoid valves to then feed the Ice Maker and Water dispenser? These are all controlled by (yes you guessed it) the main computer board! There is more but you get the idea. By the way, dont expect a reasonable service response. It is not part of the LG DNA. It is tedious and contra instinctive. The contract service people who come to work on our LG refrigerator love it. Quote our last service tech LG is great. That is how I can afford have all the things my family really likes! Without LG I couldnt make nearly as good a living.

LG Microwave Mod# LMC0975ST/01. This microwave came with a very user friendly owners manual, that I like. Unlike my other microwaves this one has a hexagon rotating ring with six wheels for the glass tray to sit on. Plus the glass tray has glass bump outs on the bottom that fit into a bump out shaft on the microwave bottom. No more dislocated dishes falling or sliding off. This microwave has performed better than I expected and I have enjoyed using it from day one. It has all the usual programs like, Smart diagnosis, Auto cook, Auto reheat, Popcorn, Defrost, Power level, Cook time, Stop/clear, Start/enter, interrupted cooking. There is a beautiful sleek smoke glass full front panel that will match any decor. I found the tip section on what to use, or not to use, when it comes to microwave-safe cookware very useful. There is also a Child Lock safety feature, and the sound signals are very audible on this microwave. There is a clock, Kitchen timer and a easy to use, slide touch timer. Dont forget to read the maintenance section. I found it very helpful. Limited warranty for Canada or the USA, is provided at the back and there is also a 1-800 number plus their website.

When I mentioned what is printed on the glass door of the MW oven, they said I need to refer to the operations a manual that comes with the MW oven to get full details of the 10-year warranty and its my faulty as I have not read the operations manual before making the purchase. As per the advice received from the LG Australia Customer Services, LG EXPECTS ALL CUSTOMERS TO READ THE OPERATIONS MANUAL OF ANY LG APPLIANCE prior to buying them as what is written in the operations manual could be a clear contradiction of what is printed on the appliance. This is misleading the customers who trust whats written on the appliance to be accurate as per how it is written on the appliance. BE CAREFUL with this dodgy company, their dodgy products and customer service! It is not possible for anyone to read the operations manual of a product at a shop before you purchase it. The machine just keeps wasting water - when it attempts to balance - all the way to the top and then pumps it down the drain and wastes our limited California water. You should do your job and force them to offer a software upgrade online. The machine have the modem cell phone link and customers could upgrade this dumb wasteful software without some LG moron coming out to tell lies and you what you already know. Force them to open the source code and let someone savvy fix the software - other than LG. They should be fined for the water wasting in a drought. This is huge capacity machine that cannot balance a light load.

We bought a new LG kitchen pkg when we built our home. We have had nothing but trouble with our stove and LG has not stepped up to make it safe. One burner has gone out numerous times pushing propane in our home. Weve spent hours on this issue and now the one burner doesnt work. Very disappointed in this stove and LG as a company.

Sadly, we are having similar issues with our relatively new LG French Door top of the line refrigerator. About 6 months ago, the ice maker stopped working. I had to have it replaced -- thought it was covered by Geek Squad protection, but thats another story. NOW it just quit working. No signs or symptoms. Just yesterday it was fine, today everything is thawed. I called LG, tried to trouble shoot over the phone with the smart phone diagnostics which didnt register any information apparently, so I had to call a certified technician. Of course, the ONE that is within an hour of my home, cant even come to look at it for three days and probably wont have the part. The customer service lady did tell me that the compressor would be covered under the ten year warranty but the snarky receptionist for the technician told me only if I have the owners manual and the receipt. Really?? It is clearly a new fridge - ridiculous! Life is NOT good when you have six kids and no refrigerator for a week!

We started to have problems with our brand new LG refrigerator 2 weeks after getting it home. First, it was the ice maker. We were still under warranty, and called to have it fixed. The rep said someone will be out the next day. The next day, the repair person said, I dont know why they would have told you that. I wont be able to come till next week. He came out, and said he fixed the problem and went on his way. Two months later, it was the same problem, repair scheduling and all. This repair man (when he finally came out) said, Oh, your ice maker has been broken since you bought it (wonder why the first guy didnt figure that out). He replaced it and went on his way. The outcome is we have ice but it perpetually gets jammed in the shoot and we always have to manually pull the ice out every time we want ice. Now, three years later, we are no longer under warranty, and are having major issues. The freezer is not working. It wont defrost and ice was building up. I called LG. The rep said $95 over the phone just to tell me what the problem is (I know what the problem is, I want to know how to fix it. I read the book and the error message on the control panel on the door says defrost problems). They will not give me any information without paying for it first. We decided not to deal with them anymore and called our local appliance repairman (nice guy). Yes, our 3-year old refrigerator needed to be taken apart and defrosted. The control panel had gone out and inadvertently kept it from defrosting. The control panel is $300 plus the cost of the house call. According to the repair man, 99% of repair calls on LG refrigerators are the control panel. When will the United States stop allowing poor quality appliance in this country?

I bought a top load washing machine, three months later machine started giving some i3 code means water pump is not working correctly, so we call LG. Looks like everything going ok. They send a tech to check the machine. His name DAVID **. I will never forget this name. Why? This tech is a LG house. He told me, Oh! Pump is not working. I will order the part. Ill come back and replace it, so like I said before everything looks nice although this guy is honest so far. He came back ten days later. I wasnt in home. My wife let him do the job. He spend 15min to replace the pump. Wow this guy is awesome. Finished fast and good worked supported. In the following days we know if something is wrong with the machine, softener stays doesnt go away. We call LG again. They said if a tech come to our house again we will pay for it, I totally refused to pay anything if we still have our warranty. Anyways they send another guy from APEX APPLIANCE SERVICE, GUESS WHAT HAPPEN NEXT. This second tech find out the LG guy never replace the water pump and LG tech DAVID ** sabotage our machine cutting the wires. This way our machine will never show codes anymore.Apex tech pass the information about what happen to LG and again when I called LG they dont have any info about it. Looks like they cover each other. I dont know exactly. ANYWAYS, if I describe all terrible time what happens to get my machine fixed will take me more than 24 hrs to do it, anyways if you already purchased any LG items youre **... Just watch out for this guy DAVID **. If your machine is broke or if its another tech from LG be on him make sure he fixed your expensive machine. LG COMPANY IS A NIGHTMARE. NEVER EVER WE WILL BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS BRAND.

Have been very satisfied with my LG Side by Side. Have had it now for 6 years and has worked flawlessly. Recommend this product to anyone looking for a reasonably priced fridge freezer. The automatic ice cube maker works better than any other one we have owned - never jams or freezes up and turns off automatically when it reaches setting on tray.

Very expensive fridge, 6 months old, not working. Under one-year manufacturers warranty. LG says they are not going to honor the warranty because it was an open box item. Several calls later, they say will fix it once they get the proof of purchase. I email proof via the portal they email me. I get a confirmation. Nothing happens. I call back. Kim says that I have refused to send proof of purchase. We argue at length. Finally, she acknowledges that she has it and says she will have to refer me to the extended warranty person. I explain that it is NOT an extended warranty; it is the original warranty. She next tells me there are no authorized LG repair services near me so she cannot schedule an appointment. But I should call a company over an hour drive- and a toll bridge- away. She finally gives me the number of a closer place. I ask for some sort of authorization for the warranty. She tells me to just call them. The phone number is no good. I find the real number, call them, and they say LG has to authorize the repair. I call LG back and ask to speak to someone in the US. After stalling me for 10 minutes, she gives me a number to call. It is out of service.

Run from LG Refrigerators! Do not buy one! They are the worst and the company is terrible when requesting warranty service!!! We have had an LG fridge for 6 years. It is now on its 3rd complete compressor failure. When calling LG I keep getting told by their customer service that we are in the queue. Fridge has been broken for 7 day and we are still in the queue. The customer service person hopes we will be up in another 24-48 hours. After we get out of the queue, it can take 3-5 days for a service person to get parts. What a bunch of crap! Crappy fridge, crappy customer service, crappy company! Avoid LG!!!!

Purchased a BRAND NEW Kenmore Elite 2014. Within 6 months, had a frozen drain which froze up the food in the refrigerator part. It was under warranty, so fixed without cost. I lost food though. In Jan 2019 the evaporator, compressor and dryer broke!! It would have cost close to 1,000.00 to fix, so I bought a service contract with Sears, monthly cost of 50.00 to cover all the new appliances I had purchased from Sears. It still cost 99.00 for the diagnostic. I lost food again!!! Now July 10, 2019 the evaporator broke again, not even 7 months old and again I LOST FOOD!!! LG you owe me for all the food I lost, in addition to lost time at work to be home so the repair people can FIX MY LESS THAN 5 YEAR OLD REFRIGERATOR.

This WT5075CW washer is completely useless. I am going to have to replace it, and I have only had it a little over a year, but I cant take it anymore. It gets unbalanced on the spin cycle for no apparent reason. I only was like weight and size clothes together. I rearrange the clothes when it gets unbalanced and then restart. It starts filling with water again and stops unbalanced again. I try the Spin Only cycle. Same thing. I was the same loads every week and it is completely random as to which load will have this problem. Last week, it was the delicates – how can they cause an unbalance???!!! I am left with an entire load of sopping wet clothes that I have to drain over the top of the washer, hang out on the patio until the dripping stops and then dry in the dryer for over an hour. I called my BrandsMart extended warranty repair team out and they said that is how the washer was designed and charged me $60.

We purchased an LG LMXS27626 in August 2016. It’s a nice fridge and worked well for our needs. Last year we had some minor issues but last week (May 2020) it stopped cooling completely. Annoying but we figured no problem. We will get it it repaired. We have since learned the mess we are in. We called every repair service in the area all of whom told us they do not work on the linear compressor. They helped us understand that it is a unique system that only LG service providers can fix. No problem we thought! At least it’s under warranty. Then we called them. Before I even hung up the phone with LG customer service I received the following email: LGs Authorized Service providers in your area are not showing availability at this time. We are urgently reaching out to other service providers to request their first available slot so that you can be supported as quickly as possible. You will be notified when an appointment is confirmed. If 7 days has passed from the date of this notice and you have not been scheduled for an appointment, please contact LG and we will escalate your case.I then took it upon myself to look at the LG website and called the 2 listed service providers in our area. They both stated they are no longer completing LG warranty services. Unsure of where to turn, we called Orville’s where we purchased the fridge. They gave us a phone number for who they said is the only LG employee who completes these repairs in our area. We called him and he was kind and helpful but he is unable to complete the repair unless LG sends the request. (We wondered why they hadn’t.) He double checked and never received anything pertaining to our issue. Good news is he has availability later this week and said he would be happy to do this but we must call back LG.I called & they told me that if we give him our Reference number that he will be able to set it up. We call back the tech/LG employee who says that is NOT true. I called back again and tried to tell them that we have an LG employee who is ready & willing to complete our repair this week but need them to set it up. They sounded surprised and after some back and forth on hold said they weren’t allowed to do this.Ok so what is the next step? I was told that LG is reaching out the an alternative service provider and will let us know when they get something on the schedule. Couldn’t get a company or any clear idea of what would be done. I asked when we might hear something and it was unclear but there wasn’t even anyone available to talk more with until Monday! So it’s 90 degrees and we don’t have a refrigerator. This is the only website that I have seen LG respond to. I will survive but honestly there are other customers who can’t access the same resources and it is concerning to read that we are one of SO MANY that go through this. This is clearly a widespread issue and LG’s lack of response so far will cause me to shop other brands in the future and also warn others of these problems. It’s not so much the fact that the appliance failed, it’s that it’s impossible to get it fixed in a timely manner. LG needs to find a solution and get some sort of procedure in place. I am hopeful this review will trigger a response & resolution.

We bought 27.6 cu ft french door refrigerator in June of 2013. LG should be disappointed at the quality of workmanship. The compressor on our unit just failed, and it will cost us hundreds of dollars to replace. The kicker is not the cost of the repair, or the poorly made unit we spent thousands of dollars on, it is the time we have been without a refrigerator, and all of the stuff we have to throw away and replace. LG set up a preferred vendor last Friday, it is now Tuesday, to come look at it. We are still without a refrigerator, and LG continues to tack on additional charges to fix their poorly made product that is under warranty. The inconvenience on a family of 4 with 2 small children heavily outweighs the damage to the pocket book.

These are not low end LG products. The ice maker on the Refrigerator freezes up and quits making ice and I was only 1 month out of my full year warranty. They did not offer to fix it and I sure didnt allow them to come out to service our refrigerator because I didnt want to give them another dime. Well, now my top end washer is not spinning all the water out of the clothes and guess what... I am 5 months out of my full warranty. I called and they did the smart diagnoses and recommend they send out a repair person because they are not sure why it is happening. Do you think they would consider a service call for free??? We moved into a new house 5/2015, and as a present to ourselves, bought a brand new stackable LG washer and dryer that had been highly recommended in Consumer Reports. We bought LG 4.3 CF WM3370HWA and LG 7.4 CF DLEX3370W from Lowes in Everett, WA. This is a front loader washer. From day ONE this washer would not get clothes clean. It does not matter if you use the recommended detergent (my previous ten-year-old Kenmore used whatever you wanted to put in it, and got things sparkling clean), doesnt matter if you add bleach. It wont do a small load, and we are a retired couple so we dont have huge loads! It also wont wash a load of sheets - it balls them into tiny balls. If you try to wash a mixed load with a couple towels, you repeatedly get the UE (uneven load error). I constantly am standing on my head rearranging a sopping wet heavy bunch of clothing. I NEVER had this before with my top loader Kenmore! It also does not add the detergent in the first part of the wash - it doesnt add it til like 35 minutes into the wash. God help you if you add bleach, everything comes out smelling like none of the bleach is washed out. It makes a very loud chunking noise while filling, also. When you wash socks (and mind you, we are clean people who do not have pets, so its not like our floors make filthy socks)...the socks come out looking like they have not been washed at all - the knit on the bottoms are still depressed from walking...and the socks are not fluffed up at all!We called Lowes, and they said you have to call LG. So we called LG and they sent out a repair person. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. First words out of the guys mouth when he got there - I have twelve visits today and I cant stay past 30 minutes... Then he went over to the washer, pushed buttons on it a couple times, pronounced it fine, and started to leave. When we stopped him to ask questions, he got very defensive. We told him Its NOT fine, it wont clean the clothes! He said Well, it cleans them, just obviously not good enough for YOU. I showed him the dirt on the socks and he said Well, add more water! So I said Can you please at least stay through a cycle so you can see that it is NOT doing what it is supposed to do? He refused. After he left, we tried pushing the add more water button (which means none of the preset wash choices work...you have to do manual wash selection every time) and it still did not get the clothes clean. Also, yes, there is tons of crap that accumulates in the virtually uncleanable rubber gasket, and yes, we leave the door open 24/7. So far no smell, but I think that is because I use bleach so much and leave the door totally open. Now for the dryer. IT WONT DRY CLOTHES unless you put it on timed dry and high heat! And still, it balls everything into a ball! Our previous Kenmore never did this! And it also has one of those rubber gaskets on the door that fills with lint and you cant clean it out! We paid $2,089 for this piece of crap set and that is a lot of money for a retired couple on social security and a small retirement. I think I hate the LG people for selling an inferior product and not blinking an eye about it. I only wish I had seen this page of complaints BEFORE we bought this. PLEASE DONT BUY ANYTHING THAT USES SENSOR! Sensor does not work. Please dont buy a front loader LG. THEY DONT WORK. And when we called back LG and asked for a different repair person, they told us there was no one else...it was him or no one. Have a nice day. Click.

My LG french door Refrigerator & Freezer stopped cooling after 7 years of no issues. Called LG repair department on (4/14) and they scheduled me with an LG certified technician. The Tech (Hector) arrived at my house on time on (04/17), and fixed my fridge very professionally. The complete cost of repair was reasonable since I was not charged with a new compressor (old one was under 10 years warranty). Currently, (04/26), my fridge is working with no issues. I hesitated at first to pay the upfront charge but it ended up being well worth it so far. I'm crossing my fingers. :-)

When you dial the control to hot or very hot on the washing machine the net result is warm water or cold water. The washer instead of delivering hot water, mixes cold water with the hot water and you get warm or cold water in any cycle. I have had the technician out twice and he said he cant do anything to make it change no matter how many parts he changes. I have it on audio recording. He said LG will not exchange the machine and I have to live with the problem. I paid $1,100 for the washer and similar amount for the dryer. I ran the LG dryer yesterday with one queen size comforter and after redrying it four times it was partially damp.

My LG has been very reliable for 9 years. I love having the freezer at the bottom with the double refrigerator doors at the top. I bought the double oven stove and unfortunately I did not use the stove until 9 months after the purchase. The stove is awful. It will burn you if you try to even come near the back of the stove top. It is very hard to clean, and that means the entire unit. The knobs are actually paper/tin which cracks and peels after just a little wear. The oven has never baked right. It burns everything on the bottom. Nothing I did corrected any of the problems.I have told everyone I know not to purchase this brand of stove, and will continue to tell the public about this lemon. To produce something so inferior and sell it to the public just shows that this company has no regard for customers and will sell junk. For me it was way too late to send this piece of junk back as by the time I used it warranty had passed. I tried to call this company and was told there was nothing they could do. They did not even try to listen or help me in any way. Its too bad because I work with broadcasting/media and I have prevented many people from making the same mistake, and will continue to do so. Updated on 01/20/2020: I had hoped to update my review to at least Satisfactory, but NO. An LG repair man was here this morning, the refrigerator is seemingly fixed - but we will see. The problem is that when my husband talked to LG last week they said the cost of parts would be NO Charge. Then the guy gets here today and says only the compressor is covered - but in order to replace the compressor he has to literally break another part which WE have to PAY FOR! How is that even a thing? I am floored by this shoddy engineering. So, it costed us $360 to repair a part covered under warranty. To top it off the man was so rude to me, kept leaving the front door wide open, including the screen door which HE locked open, and we have a dog. I kept closing the door behind him - take a hint. Then, he moves the refrigerator back (almost to where it belonged) and created 2 long black marks across 3 of our floor tiles. He intended to leave without even addressing that. I grabbed a rag and tried to clean it up and it would not come clean. He said Give me that! (just like that) and tried to wipe it up himself, to no avail. He then grabbed something out of his little bag and started scraping the floor. The marks started to fade a little. He then stands up, says Here and hands me a small piece of sand paper. Now I have to clean this up?? I could hardly believe my eyes, but by this point I just wanted him to leave my house. I have never experience such poor customer service. This is day 9 without a fridge, taking up space in neighbors freezer, buying ice to keep everyday items cold! My initial thought still stands, no more LG for me.Original review: While other manufacturers allow major appliance warranties to be transferred, as when you buy a house, LG does NOT. So, the new owner a $3,000 refrigerator that fails is completely out of luck. Sad, I will NEVER buy another LG product, and if I ever buy another house, the brand of appliances will be a factor in decision. Shame on LG!

Three weeks ago, I discovered my LG refrigerator was failing to keep foods cold and frozen. A repairman from Stover, Evey, and Jackson came, brought a loaner, and took the model to diagnose the problem in their local shop. It is not repairable because the capillary tube is blocked and no part can be ordered from the company to complete the repair, per Bob, technician. This model has a 7 year sealed system warranty.I have tried to contact LG via email, with little success. The phone customer service is very poor and time consuming. A supervisor gave me a bad email address after calling us at 6am (no apology). Does anyone have any suggestions to remedy this problem? I would like them to repair the unit or replace it, or at least refund a portion of our purchase price.

When we went shopping for a new washer/dryer, I was upset to find that nobody carried the old-timey washing machines -- unless you wanted a very small tub that you cant wash your bedding in. I did not like the fact that these new washing machines did not let you set your own water level or preferred washing cycle (you know, permanent press, delicate, regular, etc.); nor did I like the fact that it did NOT have an agitator. I do not need a washer/dryer for dummies who need presets for the various types of loads. LOL Plus, I had a sneaking suspicion that a washer without an agitator couldnt get laundry cleaned properly.Well, as it turns out, everything I did not like about the new washers is everything that I absolutely hate about our LG top loader that we bought in 2012. I was right not to want one in the first place, but I had no choice but to buy one if I wanted a NEW washer/dryer. The load sensor simply cannot gauge the size of a load properly. It either adds too much or too little water. Most of the time, it wont add enough water to cover even half of the load. When you trick it into adding more water (by opening and closing the lid as if you added garments), it ALWAYS adds water to the top -- even for a tiny load of undies.I was told they came out with these new types of washers to help reduce water usage. Well, thats an epic fail! Especially since the machine never gets the laundry clean, which often results in washing a load two or three times. I always wondered why Downy came out with those scent-boosting pellets, which we never needed with our old-timey washer -- because these washers simply do not clean clothes and they need something to make things at least smell good. Who do they think theyre fooling when soiled clothes come out of the washer still soiled? Now, about the lack of agitator, I couldnt have been more right. I was told by the salesman that the wave force is the way the machine agitates the clothes. Well, how can the wave force work when theres too little water in the machine that it doesnt even cover the load? When it fills the tub to the top on a load that didnt need that much water, the wave force causes the clothing to get all twisted. Each piece is twisted on itself as well as twisted with other clothing items. How gentle is that on clothing? With my old-timey washer, I could wash the dogs bedding and have it come out minus all of the dog hair and any stains and smells. Not with this machine. Theres always a significant collection of dog hair, particularly on the top, and I had to begin using color bleach to help with stains and smells better, but its still not clean. Dont even get me started on how unclean undies come out. LOL Those two types of loads, as well as towels, are usually the ones I have to wash two or three times -- and they STILL arent as clean as they should be.At least the dryer does a decent job, but it makes a weird noise that has me worried it will break down at any moment. Also, I fortunately have not had as many issues with the washer getting unbalanced as Ive read that others have had, but I hope I didnt just jinx myself by saying that because it does seem to be happening more often of late.At the moment, I simply cannot afford to replace a washer/dryer set thats only a few years old. My old Maytag lasted 20+ years with only two minor belt replacements, so I certainly did not expect to have to replace a three-year-old set or spend gobs of money fixing something that, according to other reviews, probably wont fix a thing.I tell you what, though, when I do go to replace them, if the stores do not have the old-timey machines with large-capacity tubs, I will go to a store that refurbishes them and spend my hard-earned money there -- most likely on a Maytag set. Maybe I should go check them out now to see how affordable they are. I know for a fact they wont cost thousands of dollars and will STILL actually get my clothes clean with less time and water -- not to mention without Downys smell-good-dirty pellets. LOLIn conclusion...just say no! Not only to LG, but any washer like it because its not possible to PROPERLY wash laundry without an agitator. Furthermore, if youre a green person like me who wants to save on water, you will cringe at how much water these washing machines cause you to waste just trying to get your laundry clean -- and to no avail.

Use the sanitizing cycle every week otherwise the old water in the drain will contaminate your clothes. Not having an agitator is definitely gentle however, the spinning cycle if set on high will shred everything especially towels.
