I simply cannot stand my front load LG washer! From day one, Ive found grey or rust colored random spot on our clothes and towels, and nothing seems to get them out. What a waste! There are a lot of bells and whistles which may seem nice, but I rarely use them and rarely need them. Never would I recommend this product. I miss my old top loading washer.

After 2 years $1200 washer drum literally fell apart by the main nut coming off. LG has a lifetime warranty on the drum but they will not honor their warranty. You have to spend a minimum of $200 for LG to fix it. The repairman said its common with LG washers and they are only instructed to tighten the nut as hard as they can. They dont even put Loctite on the nut to prevent it. LG customer support is absolutely horrible. I even spoke to the executive office in Alabama and the guy didnt even know about their warranty and told me it doesnt exist until I had him look it up. Then he was really short with me on the phone and told me to have a good day and hung up. LG has JUNK washers, JUNK warranty, and is a JUNK company. Spend your money elsewhere!

I have had less than acceptable experiences with this fridge since we purchased it Feb. 27, 2012 from Home Depot. Soon after our purchase, it started making really loud grinding and lawn mower noises. They would last for a week, and then stop. At first, we thought it may be normal, but as the problem persisted, I called to have someone help me understand what was happening. They said it was buildup of frost, and explained what to do. Long story short, it kept happening, and finally our freezer drawer stopped suctioning. Someone came out, and everything seemed to be ok, and now it is happening again. Freezer door is not closing on its own and soon we will have the same problem. I called LG they want almost $400 to send someone out! Last time I had to send my receipt, the printed order from Home Depot and had several case numbers just to get it repaired. We have a fridge in our garage that is 20 years old and it works perfectly fine, but has rust on the doors and shows its age - which is why we bought a new product, supposedly better, but very disappointing. I will not purchase another LG fridge again.

I am having the same issue as everybody else with defective gas range knobs that break due to the internal plastics. Replacements knobs from LG similarly break within days or weeks due to the same defect. They have refused to issue a recall or even a bulletin despite thousands of complaints by consumers. I have started a petition calling for a recall on Change.org. You can also report this to the US consumer product safety commission: Saferproducts.gov.

This washer is only 5 years old. There is no reason it should be failing already. Even with small loads, it continues to go into the UE mode, and repeats cycles constantly. So the alleged energy savings is out the window. It will frequently take as long as 2 hours to get one load done. And thats if it finishes at all. LG televisions we have are pretty reliable. No complaints. But their washers and dryers are not worth the money spent.

We purchased our LG refrigerator in December 2012. It was a bottom freezer unit with French doors in stainless steel. A 36 inch wide model that set us back just over $1200. It was a good looking appliance with nice features but not very durable. In November 2018, just weeks before Thanksgiving, the compressor failed. I got online and read numerous horror stories about dealing with LG to have the unit repaired. I was coming up with estimates of around $900 to repair. We found the quickest way to solve our problem was to write it off as a bad decision and get something else. When we were purchasing our new one, not affiliated with LG of course, the salesperson at the store said her LG only lasted two years. I guess we were fortunate to get almost six years before ours gave up the ghost. I have heard newer appliances are not as durable as older models. But something this costly should last for at least ten years if it is taken care of.

We have a LG LFXC24726S French Door refrigerator that started dispensing water on it own. Fortunately we were home and able to stop it in a few minutes. We got about 2 to 3 gallons of water on our wooden kitchen floors. If we had not been home, a very different story. Has this been an ongoing problem with LG? Does not generate much faith in this company.

Ive had this LG model LMV1683SW microwave under 2 years, and Im tearing it out of my kitchen and throwing it out. First, the turntable started making this awful rumble. LG said its crumbs in the track. The track was clean, but I cleaned it anyway. Still rumbled. Then sparks and small flames started shooting out of a vent hole near one of the shelf hooks. I removed the metal shelf thinking that was the issue, but it was not. It happened again, and this time I unplugged the unit, and Im removing it from my wall. LG says their initials stand for Lifes Good. Should be Looking Grievous.

I bought an LG refrigerator model No.195NC5 on 06.10.09. I noticed recently that the body paint at the bottom is rusted and still peeling off. I contacted your technician through my dealer at Kottakkal in Malappuram dist. The technician informed me that the warranty period is over and theres nothing to do. Though the complaint noticed recently it occurred, quite early, within one year of purchase. New LG Washer Never worked. Leaks and jumps around in spin cycle. This new washer has never successfully washed one load of clothes. The first time we tried to wash a load of clothes, it flooded our washroom. When it entered it spin cycle, it jumped around on the floor and hit the dryer. We contacted Home Depot (where we purchased it along with matching dryer and extended warranties). They immediately started putting us off on a repair shop, LG, and had the delivery company insurance take responsibility for the flooding. The repair shop is so busy that we were not able to get an appointment for 3 weeks. They have tried to repair this washer four times UNSUCCESSFULLY. Each time it takes two to three weeks for the next service appointment.LG does not want to bear any responsibility for producing a faulty, dangerous washer. Each time we try to speak with them they never return calls or put us off on Home Depot, who put us off on them and the Repair company. This is a new Washer that has never washed a load of clothes with an extended warranty. This has been the worst customer service experience we have ever had and the fact that it has come from two major Companies (LG and Home Depot) is really surprising. Note: we have another appointment scheduled a week from now (some progress). Washer - WM3370HRA, Dryer - DLEX3370R.

I just purchased new LG appliances about 4 months ago. All are ok except the dishwasher. There are two main issues I continue to have. The bottom rack continues to come off track and it appears the design of the dishwasher does not have a large enough track to keep the wheels on track. I continue to have issues with the dishes not getting clean. If we do not pre-rinse the dishes completely, they will come out dirty with the residue dried on. I generally use the normal cycle, which takes 2 1/2 hours.I called customer service and was told that the normal cycle is designed to reach a temperature of 96 degrees and have a moderate spray intensity. The agent further explained that this is not a sufficient wash cycle to clean dishes unless they are completely pre-washed! She recommended using Power Scrub, a cycle that takes close to 3 hours, or adding in addition rinse cycles to The normal cycle. I am so disappointed that I spent over $700 on a dishwasher that is not designed to wash dishes! Please DO NOT make the same mistake.

Updated on 09/09/2019: In mid June the compressor on our until went out. Repair technicians came and replaced the compressor. That lasted 2 weeks and they had to come again and they replaced a hose they said had a pin sized leak. 2 weeks later the unit failed and a different company came to check the unit. He cleaned out some things and refilled refrigerant. Well 3 weeks after that it failed again. The technician advised he didn’t know what was wrong. He thought replacing the compressor again along with the coils might help but wasn’t sure what was wrong with it. All he did was refill refrigerant. LG promised us that the 4 call would be the one to determine if our 3.5 year old fridge was repairable. It did not cool and we have thrown out countless hundreds of dollars in food.LG is now telling us to call back tomorrow and they will send out a different technician to see what is wrong with it!! OMG!! LG, your refrigerators don’t work and you know it. Mind you it takes anywhere from 5-7 days for a technician to even come each and every time we have called. We live out of coolers and are completely frustrated with LG! I would never advise anyone to purchase an LG refrigerator.Original Review: Our few year old, expensive refrigerator/freezer stopped cooling in early June. We contacted LG and they sent out a repairman 3 days later who did not have a compressor in hand and had to order it. So over a week after we called our refrigerator was fixed, BUT, for now only 2 weeks then it died again. The repair people came out and said there was a pinhole leak in a hose and they replaced it and put in new refrigerant and so on. Well, it lasted 2 weeks again and a different repair company came and basically said he would clean out the hoses and he refilled the refrigerant. It had lasted 3 weeks this time!My fridge has been at a solid 69 degrees and the freezer at 55. It has taken over a week to get someone here. LG claims they will replace or give a refund for the fridge this time. I have thrown out several upon several hundreds of dollars of food. Lg knows they have a defect in the linear compressor and they just need to replace the refrigerators that have issues. Each time we call it has taken over a week to get it fixed and it seems like it’s only a temporary solution.

Two years ago, my wife and I purchased an LG 7957295 French Door refrigerator. Its now 2020 and the compressor is shot. Sears wants $1000 to repair it or will give me a %50 discount if I pay $50 ($600 per year) for an appliance (all) warranty. I could have purchased a $3000 refrigerator for that amount of money. I checked and sure enough the LGs are having problems with their linear compressors I am told. The reviews say it and the repairmen are saying it. Yet, LG continues to sell them. Last, we have had numerous problems with this refrigerator from the start, loud auger sound in back, dents if you look at it, fingerprint resistant is anything but. I am heading out to buy a new refrigerator since I dont want any more problems with this item.

Bought LG DISHWASHER LDT9965BD in Nov/2016. We have a laminate floor in our kitchen. Didnt realize the dishwasher was leaking until the Pergo floor panels started curling up at the seams in front of the washer. The service man said our sump assembly seal was leaking from inside the washer. The dripping was unnoticed because the water was flowing under the laminate panels and soaking into the padding underneath. I have had many less expensive dishwashers in my life and never had a leak not even a drip. This was the most expensive dishwasher LG had at the time of purchase. My home warranty company TotalProtect Home Warranty (Cross Country Home Services) came out to repair our washer. They discovered an LG Recall from the US Consumer Product Safety Commission and refused to make repairs because it was under recall. So, LG was responsible for repairing it. The recall stated the washer becomes unbalanced and causes personal injury and property damage. Luckily my washer just broke. It has been 3 months and multiple LG repair companies later and LG has not repaired our washer. Every LG service company that we called or came out to make repairs claims they cant repair it, LG did not authorize repairs, or the recall did not cause the damage. LGs customer service (800-243-0000) promised they would make repairs and they gave me a CNM # and APM # that supposedly authorized the repairs. I even filed an ethics complaint with LGs company HQ. Hi. I bought an LG washer and dryer 2 weeks ago, got it installed 4 days ago. My first wash the dryer didnt work, I kept trying but it didnt. LG sent a 3rd party tech who investigated and replaced a part (back box ) but it still doesnt work. Hes left it to a next unscheduled appointment to probe further to try and see if changing front panel will work. I paid $2600 for this machine and Im so disgusted, disappointed & frustrated with the process and the service from LG. For the price this machine is a complete failure for me. I paid for a new functioning washer and dryer and I got a trial and error piece of equipment. Im a mother to 4 school going kids and the inconvenience, hole in pocket and frustration is inexplicable. I want LG to replace this machine irrespective to their further investigations irrespective if it leads to repair or not. Because I didnt pay for a repaired product I paid for a brand new functioning product and I want one or my money back. I wouldnt recommend this machine to anyone on this basis.

We are without a washing machine and LG does not stand behind their product
We are without a washing machine and LG does not stand behind their products. From all the reviews, it appears we do have enough people to level a class action suit against LG. Are you in? We purchased a LG front-loading washing machine in November 2014 from Home Depot. When the machine was delivered, there was rust inside the drum. We called Home Depot and complained and two weeks later (a month and a half after purchase) we finally received a new washer. Around the end of June 2015, (6 months) I noticed a loud notice when the clothes were washing, it sounded like the drum was rubbing. I mentioned it to my husband who told me it was nothing. In July the noise was getting louder so I called LG for service. The customer service was atrocious! They told me that the technician was only available on 1 day and that if I was not available, then I would have to call back because they did not have a schedule for the technician the following week. I asked the representative to call me back when they had a schedule and he agreed, but I never got a call back. I called the following week and again I was told they only had a schedule for Tuesday. I asked for a supervisor, Cherry, who advised me to keep Wednesday, Thursday and Friday open for the technician and that she would call me. I asked her to have a member of management call me and she said they would call me back in 48 to 72 business hours. After 96 business hours, no one called me back, so I called again. A supervisor, Vincent, said he would get a technician out there on Monday. The technician arrived on Monday, and stated it was stator assembly and rotor assembly but stated hopefully it is not the drum, and that he would order the parts and be back on Tuesday to replace them. When he showed up on Tuesday to replace the parts, he said, oh no - the drum shaft is bent and that we would need a whole new rebuild of the machine. He then told my husband to call Customer Service because he could not order the parts (he was able to order them the day before) - that we needed to order them through Customer Service. While my husband was on the phone with Customer Service, the technician Nick just left. My husband then spent the whole day on Wednesday trying to get answers. Mid-day he was able to contact Sherry in the Executive Offices who told him she would research the issue and contact him by the end of the day about replacing the unit. She did contact him back and asked him to get the invoice because she did not have the information - however LG had the purchase date, model number and place of purchase. I then tried to contact Sherry the following day. Sherry indicated to me that she spoke to LG Management and that they refused to replace the machine but would order the parts for rebuild. When I asked Sherry when the parts would be in, and when we could expect the repairs to be done, she stated, The technician will give you a call when the parts arrive to schedule service. I then explained to her this was not acceptable to have a time frame and that I also wanted to keep the parts that are replaced for evidence. She told me she did not think I could do that, that decision would be up to the technician. I explained again that I was keeping the parts for evidence. My husband then called back and asked to speak with Sherrys manager. Amber, who answered the phone, said that she was Sherrys manager and there was no one above her to speak to. She stated that LG will not replace the machine, and that someone would call us when the parts arrive. We are without a washing machine, and LG does not stand by their products. NEVER, EVER, BUY LG. You will have dirty clothes and you will have $1000 less in your pocket! 10-year warranty - BS!

I bought a brand new LG refrigerator LFXS30766D in May 2015. Last month it did not make any cool air, as the result all my foods end up in the garbage can. I called LG, they dispatched a technician first time for diagnostic. Then the tech came back the second time with a new compressor. They charged me about $400 plus for part and labor. Well, the refrigerator then was running fine for about three weeks. After that the compressor made some noise. I had to unplugged it a few times with a hope making differences. At last the noise finally gone but there is a new problem starting last 2 weeks. The cooling issue came back. The freezer at the bottom is cool about 36F, and the fridge on top is warm. I found out the vapor fan stopped working. I went online to check on LG spare part to replace the fan myself so I can save money. But I am very disappointed after the fact that the vapor fan kit costs around $200 - $300 for the whole assembly kit. What a rip off!!! I spent more than $2000 to purchased this LG refrigerator; and I really believe this is a piece of junk. I dont know how LG is still in business, and why LG does not care their customers at all. All they care is about themselves, selling fancy looking product that not last more than 3 years, then selling spare parts at unbelievable high prices. I will not buy LG products and no more...

Third year of LG front loader and something failed and punched a whole in the thin cheap plastic outer tub. Costs for repair is 3/4 the cost of a new washer due to it being so intensive. Front door has leaked since day one. I contacted LG about it and was pretty much told, you are on your own.

Purchased an LG side by side refrigerator from Home Depot 3/2018 with a 5-yr protection plan. 7/2/2019 the ice dispenser wouldnt stop running after crushing ice. Couldnt get it to stop. Had to disconnect refrigerator while waiting for service. Called both LG & Home Depot to report the problem. LG claimed the repair service was scheduled for July 4th which I questioned because it is a Holiday. Called again next day 7/3 to be sure and was told it was scheduled for 7/4 between noon & 5:00pm waiting for ordered part. I asked about ordering a part if no one was out yet to see what the problem was. No one came. Repair company (very rude) said they werent scheduled until 7/11. Lost $600 in food plus cost of purchasing ice. LG will only reimburse $200. No resolution yet.

Is this level of service LG intends to provide? We visited LG PEL and New Allied Gujranwala, Pakistan regarding our one LG washing machine (product model: wd80150) issue, but both were saying, “We are not providing LG after sale service.” I even sent 5 emails to LG customer service on August 17, 2011, and they did issue a complaint reference number **. I received what I felt was extremely poor service, and I felt I should write and inform you. They did issue a complaint reference number **; still, they are saying that they do not have LG parts and testing equipment. Im sure that this isnt the level of service you intend to provide. I would like to continue being a customer of LG, but I feel this type of after sale service makes it easy for your customers to simply never do business with you again. I look forward to hearing from you.

Updated on 06/08/2021: This is a follow up to a review I wrote a few days ago about my LG refrigerator. I gave it 1 star only because I couldn’t leave zero. I was amazed that a company representative reached out because of the negative review but my amazement didn’t last. They are still dragging their feet. I have a 3 1/2 year old refrigerator that stopped working on May 16. It is suppose to have a 5 year warranty. I got the run around from LG customer service for weeks so I left the negative review. Yesterday I received a text saying they would try to find an alternate resolution but I had to send in my receipt. I don’t have any issue providing the receipt but I already sent the same supervisor the receipt on a May 26. Now I have to start the process again. I need to send her the receipt and in 7-10 business days one of their representatives will reach out with a possible resolution but I MUST NOT do anything with the broken refrigerator until I hear from them. So it’s possible I won’t hear from them for another 2 weeks but I’m suppose to leave a broken refrigerator in my house until they say differently? I simply cannot believe that they think I’m not going to replace the broken refrigerator for 5 weeks! Please don’t put yourself through what I’m dealing with. Don’t buy LG.Original Review: Do not buy a refrigerator from LG! I purchased one 3 years ago for $2,500. It came with a 5 year (worthless) warranty. It stopped working suddenly 2 weeks ago. I have called LG customer service every single day and they have done nothing to correct the situation. They can’t find anyone local to fix the unit because they have a Class Action Lawsuit due to a faulty compressor and no repairmen will touch it because of the potential liability. So I sit on day 14 with ZERO help. They have not called me back one time. I have to call every day and repeat my entire story to a different employee. Buyer Beware!

I purchased 3 Kitchen Appliances from RCWilley las Vegas Nv. on 07/02/2020 because of the rebate offered by a LG Appliance rebate (Bundle Savings) if we purchased 3 or more of their qualifying products and that is what we did. We bought an Oven, Dishwasher and Refrigerator. The Sales Associate gave us the form and Serial Number of the qualifying products to fill in and mail into LG USA Inc. located in Memphis Tn. 38101. Several months went by and I called their #1-877-333-9203 and they confirmed my rebate was in process. NO REBATE to Date. 11/11/2020. I would not trust this companys promise of getting a rebate. If it sounds to good to be true it usually is not true. Totally DISAPPOINTED WITH LG.

This is ridiculous and It only lasted 1/2 the life they boast and advertise!!?? False advertising!!

I purchased an LG washing machine in 2011. At the time of its purchase, the machine started to produce oil like stains on the clothes. I tried several detergents and purchased several different types of tub cleaners to no avail. After 6 months of repeated stains, I called the Sears technical department to complain about the situation. A technician was sent out to my house to provide preventive maintenance. Upon arrival, I indicated that the machine did not require its yearly maintenance but rather a repair. The technician indicated, after looking at the machine, that he could not detect a deficiency with the machine. He did acknowledge that the stains were coming from the machine. Several calls to the technical department, the customer service department, and an in store visit to Sears to discuss the way forward with an area manager has proven to be futile. I still sit with a machine that produces oil stains on my clothes. I have incurred enormous costs having to throw away clothes because they are no longer fit to wear. I am now considering purchasing another machine, and I have stopped purchasing anything from Sears purely out of principle.

We bought a washer dryer combo from Appliances Connection the end of November 2017. It worked until around Feb 1 2018. It displayed a error code OE. We pull out the owners manual and found out it was a full filter. We cleaned it and it worked for about 3 weeks. Again OE code. We cleaned filter again, not too dirty but the washer worked for week. OE again. Nothing in filter this time. We called LG. They try to walk us through the problem and could not get it to work. They called a repair person. It took 3 weeks for service. The repairman came out. My husband took the day off work to meet him. He was 4 hours late. He look at the machine for about 10 mins said it was fixed. 13 mins into cycle it displayed OE. He was still in our driveway. He went to work on it again. He never took the top off to look inside. 10 mins later he said, Ok its fixed. Went to do his paperwork. 13 mins into cycle OE. He had left. We called and said same thing was happening. Repairman came back 2 hours later. Never took the top off. Said its fixed. Left 13 mins later. OE. Call shop closed. Next day repair shop said it will be 10 days for new repair person. Same guy came out. Hes mad now. Pulled plug on the drain and flooded my floor hardwood. Never ever came to tell us. Took his shop vac and dump the dirt on my front lawn. I have pictures. All area rug soaked. 20 min no top off its fixed. He left. I called LG to tell them of our problem. After 23 calls and at least an hour on hold a piece they agreed they would send a new repair person. New repair person was to come on Saturday. No showed. I called him all day. At 5:30 he returned my call and said he never set an appt. with LG to come. He said he could come in an hour 6:30 at 7:30. John came was at our house for 2 mins. Said he new the problem and would order the part. 1 week later no news. Call LG. They cant help me. I need to call John repair guy. No answer from him. Days pass calling LG and John. Nothing. Weeks later John calls to say he never got the part. I call LG. They say he never requested it. LG said they need a part number to check on it and I would have to get it from John. Called John. No answer. Called LG. Nothing they can do. 2 weeks of daily calls to LG on hold about any hour on avg. John calls me finally the day after LG told me they were going to refund me for the washer and told me he had the part and was coming on Mothers Day to put it in 7 am. I told him we had church and brunch at 9 am. He assured me he would be there. He showed up at 9 am. We did not make church or brunch. 30 mins spent to not taken off. He cleaned the filter and said LG sent him the wrong part but the washer was working. It did work for 4 loads then OE code again. Called LG. Still no refund or replacement or a washer that works. I dont know what to do. We have lost 5 days of work. Over 200 hour on the phone with LG. 45 min one way to nearest laundry at $60 a week. And hundreds of hour of our lives.

The compressor on our refrigerator died in less than three years - a common problem we learned about after the fact. Prior to the compressor failing, we noticed the once beautiful black stainless finish was chipping and delaminating on the corners of the French doors. None of this was expected, nor is it considered acceptable based on the price. To LGs credit, it obviously recognized the poor quality of its compressors as evidenced by the fact it extended the warranty. So our compressor was replaced at no expense to us. Its much noisier than before, but seems to be working well. It wasnt fun being without our $3,200 refrigerator for three weeks. Its proof that you dont always get what you pay for, that reviews by users cant be trusted, and that anticipated reliability assessed by a leading consumer magazine is not accurate.

I purchased my LG dishwasher on april 11, 2015. I did not purchase an extended warranty as LG was supposed to be a high end appliance company and felt the product would not require service right away. However, I was wrong. One week after my 1 year purchase date, the dishwasher had an oe error code flashing one morning, which I did not know what that meant. So I continue to use it and instead of running at night while sleeping I decided to run before we went to bed. The dishwasher when first starting had a loud grinding noise, which sounded like it was trying to take off and start flying.I went online to find that this is a problem with the dishwasher and the company does not back their warranty. I started a chat at 8:38 to resolve the issue and remained on the chat until 10:52, with no resolution. I then called the company direct. Spoke with a rep and a supervisor, both of which informed me my dishwasher had no warranty. Only after I had to contact Sears, get a duplicate receipt, upload it to them and they reviewed it. Since I got a discount on my dishwasher due to the door having had swirl marks on the front it voided any extended warranty. Therefore, I like many others will have to pay a serviceman to come repair my dishwasher that I purchased just over a year ago. I would tell anyone looking for any type of appliance. Do not buy LG anything!!! Their customer service is awful and their warranty is ridiculous.Update 5/13/16: I received from LG names and numbers of authorized repairman in our area. Called their repairman, was told by them Oh, maam, you are not in my service area. So, therefore, I have no one to service my dishwasher.

I did not look up reviews before I purchased this refrigerator, I wish I did! On the upscale price of closer to the $3000 mark, I feel I got a lemon. I loved the look, style, features, and all the different slide out drawers and compartments. I was sold! This is everything I could want in a refrigerator. Then came the disappointment... In the first year, it was getting ice build up on the inside of the refrigerator. Repair said it some kind of software problem, wasnt programmed correctly or something. It is the second year I have it, it will be in November 2016 two years old. Not working again, repair tech says this time the compressor is SHOT!!! REALLY that is the heart of the unit, in two years. So it is under warranty for the part but not the labor. So it will cost $450 to fix. On Tuesday they were supposed to expedite the part. Its Saturday and Im still waiting. I thought expedite meant send it NOW! I wrote a few emails to LG, they responded, Were sorry for your troubles and inconvenience. We have sent your concerns to complaint dept. Blah blah blah. Wont ever buy another LG product.

I own an LG dryer (Model: DLG5988W) just over five years now. This past summer, I noticed a noise and the felt along the rim inside the drum was coming out. I notified the service company and they ridiculously removed the felt--had to scrape glue from the unit. This took about three hours--the service person was outside in heat applying the new glue and the new felt to the drum. Keep in the mind that the entire unit needs to be taken apart to do this. When he was finished, he said that they could have ordered an entirely new drum and not have to remove and reapply the felt--but they chose to do it this way.Three months later, I noticed some markings on my clothing, sheets, blankets, and white clothing. The felt is coming out again and the noise has returned. We have contacted the service company who says that our warranty was just up about two months ago. They originally charged us approximately $300+ and now, they say that the drum needs to be replaced and it would cost about $600+.We want it replaced and the original cost be deducted, since the problem was a temporary fix. Now, they wont even return our calls. So I continue to put aside all the ruined clothing, blankets, etc. I will never ever give LG my business. I also own the frontload washer, which, by the way, smells all the time. I remember growing up and the washer and dryer lasted 15+ years. LG sucks!

Fix for mildew smell in LG washer: Use a half cup or so of plain old cheap vinegar in every load. It takes the smell away. Add it with the detergent you use. We use 2 or 3 cups in heavy loads of towels. Our old top loader, my mothers front loader, and our new LG all needed it. Nothing we ever did took the smell away. For us it was a combination of the water in our town and our washers. Just try it. Your clothes will not smell like vinegar. We hated that smell and this fixed it. Anytime we forget to add it, we get the smell again. A gallon of cheap vinegar costs 2, maybe 3 bucks at the most? Seriously, try it on a few loads of towels and youll be happy.

We purchased a brand new LG french door refrigerator (bottom drawer freezer and 2 door refrigerator with ice and water in the door). We purchased it through Home Depot for $2200 in April 2016. We researched and shopped around and felt good about the purchase. Didnt buy extended warranty - why would we... its a brand new fridge with manufacturers warranty and solid company right?? WRONG!!!I NEVER write online reviews. This experience is so shockingly horrible I had to submit a review. The ice in the door constantly melts and refreezes. When it refreezes it bonds the giant chunk of ice from the ice maker to the door. You need an icepick or a crowbar to then remove the ice maker from the door. Of course, as soon as you pry it apart, the entire bin of ice and melted water drops onto the floor and all around your feet. The melted ice block fills every nook 6 inches deep into the ice maker. Again, using an icepick you can chop up the ice and use your vacuum or spoons to extract all the ice.Home Depot wont touch this. Refer you to LG Customer Service. Took multiple calls and LG over the phone told us it was our fault and we must be leaving refrigerator door open too long and were melting the ice. They told us to open the refrigerator door NO MORE THAN 1-2 TIMES PER DAY??? Finally, they sent a technician. The technician reviewed the fridge and told me LG is terrible and he sees this all the time. However, his report back to LG indicated he found no issues. LG issued report to us that we need to TURN OFF THE ICEMAKER every night before bed and empty the bin. In the morning we can turn the ice maker back on but that we MUST USE ALL THE ICE EACH DAY OR TURN IT OFF. They claim the ice maker is so efficient and meant to make more ice than we can use because they were getting complaints it wouldnt make enough ice. So weve been turning the ice maker on and off each day - which makes us open the refrigerator doors twice a day by the way. And the problem is still there. Thanks LG!! What a waste of $2200. A waste of many peoples time in your games and a ridiculous strategy. Buyers are savvy and expect more than stupid answers. A very unsatisfied customer who is also a realtor and refers people to buy new appliances all the time! Will make sure people dont buy LG for sure!

I bought LG refrigerator from Costco back in Feb 24 2016. It was 30 cubic feet and I paid almost $2700. Nightmare started couple of weeks ago and it is ongoing. Refrigerator stop cooling, I called lg. They told me to reset and wait for 8 hrs which I did. Nothing happened, called again. They said it suppose to be 24 hrs wait, I waited 24 hrs. Nothing happened, called back again. They send the lg technician. He said faulty compressor in that kind of fridge with tons of other complains. He said they will take 6 weeks or more to repair due to so many complaints and back order on compressor. We have a tiny refrigerator right now we are using as a backup, but it can only hold milk and butter, I called costco, explained my situation to Isaac one of the manager in Victorville store near my house, and ask him to make a exception returning it due to such a long time for repair and upcoming holidays, he consulted his superior and they declined to return, but he said he contacted lg and told them about the time frame for repair, lg told him they will try to find a repair shop which can repair it sooner.Oh by the way the lg technician told me that lg used plastic ring instead of metal in compressor to save few bucks. That ring melts quickly. Thats why they are having so many complaints, according to that lg technician compressor supposed to last for 10 years. I am still waiting the response from costco and lg. My advice to consumers not buy large appliances from costco due to their scam. 100% satisfaction guarantee policy which only cover for 90 day. It is ridiculous, also lg technical support is very unsupportive and their refrigerators are faulty, unless you would like to have a nightmare like I am going through.

On Saturday, the 5th, I did not dry because the dryer stopped heating. I contacted LG service who after attempting to diagnose the problem sent a service rep out on Monday. He found the problem to be the electronics board, but he did not have a replacement. He set up a return appointment for Wednesday, but called that morning to say the part was back ordered. I absolutely could not get anyone to answer my calls. I purchased a washing machine in 2005 and it was starting to smell terrible by 2006. In 2009, it produced error readings so I purchased a new pump. In 2011, it started making noise. I took it upon myself and found out that the support brace that holds the inner drum rotted and broke off in three places. I have soft water and am a registered master plumber. The material used in this brace was no more than cast aluminum or pot metal (neither of the two should be used in a piece of equipment like this). The drum is stainless. What a waste.

We bought our LG dishwasher just a year ago and of course right after the warranty is up the dishwasher fails. As a family of 5 we dont have the money to buy a new dishwasher again or fix. You would think after paying a large amount of money for a product it would last more than a year. Very displeased and unsatisfied. Will not buy LG again.

LG top load wt 1101cw - This machine is less than a year and a half old, and we have the same problem as most of the other people with this model. After speaking to LG customer service, they tell me the same thing that the book does and after doing the smartphone diagnosis, they will gladly send out a tech to tell me what is wrong with it. The machine will give the UE code with nothing in tub but water!!! And then say they dont have a problem......

I purchased, in good faith, a new LG refrigerator (side by side) for over $2,200. The cooling system began degrading and I lost all contents in the fridge. The worst part of the experience is that LG did not provide support after many calls. I could not even connect with a senior leader in the company - all reps indicated their policy is to not provide contact information of any senior leader. I could not believe this. They did not care that I spent a great deal of money and faith in their product and the product failed and, they would not even stand behind it. Finally, after several weeks, they sent someone to examine it and made some changes. However, within a week, the temp increased back up to about 60 degrees. They would not send someone back out reasonably quickly, so I contacted a repair service. They came out a few months ago and replaced the compressor. All was fine until, once again, the temp began rising; this time over 65 degrees. I have been trying to get hold of someone who can help me at LG at no avail. I do not typically write reviews about products online (unless positive); however, I feel I have some level of responsibility to you and others to suggest you NOT buy an LG product. The product is not dependable and the service is even worse. Unless youre willing to part with a substantial part of your hard-earned money, consider another brand.

Purchased a WM2801HLA Direct Drive front load washer & matching gas dry
Purchased a WM2801HLA Direct Drive front load washer & matching gas dryer (new) in April of 2010. In the 7 years of ownership, the LG Washer has had 2 drain pump failures, 1 circuit control board failure, and a Spider Arm assembly failure (due to preventable corrosion). The 1st drain pump failed under extended 5-year warranty, as did the circuit control board. Everything else has failed on my dime and my time. The failed spider arm also took out the Balance Assembly Ring by tilting the tub, thus making contact with a fixed component and rubbing a hole in the liquid filled assembly ring - which drained the ring, rendering it noisy as a tank & useless. Our machine started making some warning sounds in the spring of 2017... Which I thought were the bearings. Being as the seal & bearings are a regular fail point, I ordered seals and bearings and pulled the machine apart. Turns out it was the Spider Arm assembly which had corroded to the point that only 1 of the 3 arms was still intact holding the drum to the support assembly. The bearing seal and bearings were still fine (although replacing the seal when you are in there is a MINIMUM to prevent future bearing failure).Just for good measure, the 2nd circuit board is now also behaving in a similar manner as the 1st one did on its way out (you cannot power up the machine without unplugging it - wait 30 seconds - and plugging it back in). This circuit board problem comes and goes, but it is not uncommon for the LG brand (do a YouTube search for LG washers failing to power up). The Spider Arm failure was due solely to using an unpainted aluminum part (spider arm), bolting it to a dissimilar metal (stainless steel drum) and exposing it to both electrolyte (soapy water, baking soda) and acids (vinegar, bleach, cleansing tablets, etc). Shiny piece of crap is how I would describe this LG washing machine. In the 15 years since Front Loaders became fashion statements, I am not aware of a single Front Load manufacturer that has corrected this spider arm fail point (its a guaranteed certainty it will fail with any sort of regular use) by either painting it in enamel, making it out of stainless steel, or abandoning the stainless steel tub for an enamel coated one. Its clear to me that this is a purpose-driven engineered failure of the washing machine. I was able to fix the machine myself (and new bearings/seals for good measure... As youre already in there) but most people cannot. Even so, it was $400 with bearings, seals, balance ring, spider arm, and enamel paint for the new spider arm to prevent corrosion thereof. When the spider arm fails, it is generally the death knell for the machine. To hire someone to fix is usually in the neighborhood of $800 (and several days to get parts/fix). Thats right around the price point of a new washer... And therein lies the motivation to junk a 6 to 8-year-old washer. Compare that to my 1996 Maytag Dependable care top load washer and gas dryer. 13 years of ZERO problems, and probably still going strong at my former house (left as part of the house sale). These front loaders could last just as long by making the terminal failures less frequent. I.E. Eliminate the Spider arm corrosion. Use higher grade bearings. Use a higher grade bearing seal. I will accept the circuit board failure, as its easy to replace. Although, there should be no need for that either if the circuits are rated for automotive use (high vibration).Ditto the drain pump failure (its downright delicate looking) but its $50 and I can change it rather quickly. Unfortunately, given that all the manufacturers are using price as the lowest common denominator, its unlikely that any single manufacturer will step up their game. If manufacturers build a better machine, theyll have to raise the price as turnover falls.A couple of takeaways Ive learned: Dont stack your washer/dryer - It makes them a nightmare to service (and these new machines demand servicing). Front load washers are crap. I believe you can eliminate the spider arm by going back to a top loader. Become handy - You need to be able to diagnose, disassemble, & repair these crappy products yourself to extend the life thereof.

Bought a beautiful black stainless steel LG refrigerator for around $3500.0
Bought a beautiful black stainless steel LG refrigerator for around $3500.00 two years ago. I researched for six months before purchasing. I wanted the best I could afford since it has a pretty important job. I have a child with severe allergies so I needed a big fridge for her special food. We finally decided to get the biggest and best on the market. I read bad reviews on Samsung and good ones on LG. Now just two years later I join the millions of other dissatisfied LG customers who had their compressor completely go out and ruin food worth hundreds. To wait for an LG repairman is going to take weeks since there is only one and he, not surprisingly, is booked with other crappily made LG products. I got a refrigerator repairman to diagnose it yesterday, which I had to pay more fifty dollars more since it was a weekend. He told me that he sees nearly new LG refrigerator compressors go out often. He said that he put in a second new compressor in one month for his customer last week and the customer got him to help him haul his 3 year old LG refrigerator to the DUMP. We all need to start a class action lawsuit against LG since they are selling shoddy products and not standing behind them.

I needed a fridge at the time it seemed like it was it the best quality fridge out there for the initial price so I really cant complain. It really does run well and efficient. The ice machine is my favorite part. Also the fact that it is a stainless steel appliance means it is easy to clean and just be wiped off for a fast and easy finish. Its an ok fridge all around but the cons would be it smudges easily. I have kids so that is a big concern with me since I dont want people coming over to my house and seeing a dirty fridge people would think Im a slob who doesnt clean my own house. Also the ice machine can be pretty loud but all around its an ok fridge so I dont have any major complaints.

I purchased a brand new LG top loading washing machine and dryer a few months ago and have had nothing but problems with the washing machine. Not only does it NOT clean my clothes, but it actually causes yellow stains to appear on my white cottons. I have contacted LG a number of times and they have just given me the Royal runaround with absolutely NO satisfaction. They have had me do smart analyses and even sent a serviceman to my house twice when I have tried explaining to them multiple times that there is nothing mechanical wrong with the machine...its just a manufacturers design defect (that would be LG). They refuse to listen or agree. I have tried 5 different detergents and now they want me to try pods and even buy a water softener which I do not need because my water is not hard. I had a Kenmore for many years before this lemon, and it worked just fine with my water. I begged LG to exchange this washer for one that actually cleans since I have a warranty as well as an extended warranty and they refuse to do anything at all. They asked for images of the damaged clothes which I sent and cant even get a call back not to mention the fact that the call center is in the Philippines and communication is very difficult and frustrating. They have worn me down which Im sure has been their purpose. My husband and I went out today and had to purchase a new washer and dryer and pay a whole lot more money and take a beating. LG should be ashamed for giving us NO assistance with this faulty product. We did NOT purchase an LG product today nor will we ever purchase one again. They are NOT honorable with their guarantees. So, Buyer Beware! I am happy to lend further info or advice to anyone who wishes to contact me.

I turned the unit off. I was scared the unit was going to catch my house on fire. I called LG to have them service it. I already had the date and time and company they were sending. Then the customer service guy informed me the warranty had already expired 6 days ago. Really! This company could not honor it - after buying a refrigerator and stove from them. Purchased a LG Refrigerator from Home Depot in July of 2012. Within probably a month, I had to call the company and have them come and service the freezer as it was completely frosted up. I did not find the person on the phone to be polite at all and pretty much implied that I had done something to make the freezer frost up. That problem was fixed and I have not had any further issues with the freezer. However, the plastic shelves are pretty much all broken as well as the plastic drawers. I called the company on two occasions to complain about this and once again I felt that the phone staff were very rude. I told them that all the shelves were broken so they sent me one shelf. Doesnt do me much good as they are all broken and some of the support for the shelves to sit on are also broken. I would never, ever, ever purchase a LG product again. Their support staff not very polite or helpful and the product is horrible.

I bought an LG Fridge Model LSC 24971ST in October 2012. It stopped working June 2017. I made many phone calls to Customer Care (or No Care) Centre on Telephone 1-888-542-2623 continuously for five weeks but nothing was done. Finally LG got back to me and told me whatever the problem is, they will have it fixed for a flat rate of $229. I paid them $229, hoping that the problem will be solved now. Few days later an LG worker came to check the fridge, only to tell me that the fridge cannot be fixed. I would have to buy another $4000 fridge from LG. It was hard for me to believe this fridge cannot be fixed, so I called somebody else to have the fridge checked, which is when I found out that the compressor has stopped working and just needs to be replaced.LG was trying to CHEAT me and make me buy another fridge from them. They wouldnt even return the $229 flat rate that I paid them to have the fridge fixed. After arguing with them for weeks, they finally agreed that they will have the compressor replaced at the FLAT RATE of $229 but the part is NOT available for the time being. If such a BIG company like LG fails to find its own part, why I must suffer...? Weeks passed and they could not even find their own part. Bottom line is, LG COMPANY TRIES TO CHEAT YOU. The fridge could easily be fixed by replacing the compressor (which was still under warranty), but LG wanted to CHEAT me into just buying another $4000 fridge from them. They gave me a very hard to time; for months I kept arguing with them. Never buying an LG product ever again!

On April 2012, we purchased an LG over-the-stove microwave Model LMH2016ST for $320. The warranty was only good for one year but we thought we were buying a good product so went ahead and purchased it. On August 2015, the Primary Interlock Switch on the door broke so we called a recommended appliance repairman who replaced it for a total of $170.75. The same switch broke again on February 2016, one year later, and the same repairman told us he has to order a new part and this will cost another $170.75. I called LG Company and registered a complaint about this happening twice and they told me I should have paid attention to the one year warranty at the time of purchase. They do not stand behind their products. We will not repair this microwave because we have already put $237 into this product that appears to be a lemon. This is the last LG product of any kind that we will purchase. We also had a brand new $3000 refrigerator break down the first week we purchased it. Luckily that very expensive part was covered by the warranty at the time. So far, our LG Range is still working. We have lost all confidence in LG products and will not buy anything else from this company.

Updated on 11/29/2021: LG kitchen appliance buyer please beware. Again, based on my experience, any potential buyer should do research on the dependability of the product and any posted customer experience comments before purchasing any LG kitchen appliance. I made a post 2 months ago on the unreliable refrigerator I purchased and the lack of customer service from LG. Shortly after that post I got action, but it has turned out to be just lip service. I have provided everything LG requested to get a prorated reimbursement for the refrigerator. I have been told on several occasions the reimbursement is approved and the check has been mailed. To this date, 11/29/21, I still have not received the check and I still have an unreliable LG refrigerator. The “promises” of me receiving a reimbursement, which come from as high up of the “liaison of the president”, apparently are meaningless. Bottom line is if you are planning to purchase kitchen appliances please, please consider my situation in order to avoid hours and hours of wasted time and frustration as well as money if you go with LG.Original Review: LG kitchen appliance buyer please beware. Based on my experience, any potential buyer should do research on the dependability of the product and the customer experience comments when something does not work like it should. We purchased the French door refrigerator in November 2019. We started having a problem with the freezer compartment getting too warm in April 2021. This is October 2, 2021 and the problem still exists. The customer service department scheduled repairs. Nine technicians from two different companies have worked on the refrigerator. Many components have been replaced including thermostats, rear cover panel and the mother board that controls everything. The problem revolves around the defrost cycle and the unit not being able to recover from defrosting. The compartment gets too warm, 41 degrees. The refrigerator compartment also gets to 41 degrees. Multiple times everything in the freezer has thawed and turned to liquid. Ice melts in the ice dispenser and runs on the floor. The issue has been escalated 4 times now. Three of those have been to the Defective Returns Department. They rejected the claim first due to “improper submission of the claim by their representative” and a second time because “the person handling the claim no longer works for the company”. I have emailed the President twice without a response even though his webpage says he will respond. My experience has been extremely poor and I still have a defective refrigerator. For $3,100 I expected a unit that would perform and last for a number of years. The company has no doubt spent near that amount of failed repair attempts. I’ve been told that my unit qualifies for either replacement or refund due to the number of repairs and due to the failure of the company to schedule repair within 14 days. This problem is a nightmare and has no resolution within sight. Life’s Not So Good with this kind of customer service and a company that does not stand behind its product. Buyer beware!

We remodeled our house a little over two years ago, and my wife bought new LG appliances for the kitchen including a dishwasher, electric cook top range, microwave and refrigerator. I like the fact that when you get water out of the refrigerator door, it comes out fast. When it went out, it took almost two weeks to get done, and that’s the only complaint I have. We’re retired and we can’t afford to go out every meal, so we lived out of coolers and one small hundred-dollar refrigerator for a month. When the repairman brought the compressor in, he informed us that he puts a lot of compressors into LGs. In fact, he finished up with us at 8:00 in the evening he was here, and he went on to do another one before he went home.

I purchased a LG refrigerator from Abt Electronics in 12/15. Less than 8 months, the ice maker was not working. The manufacturer came out, ordered the part and had it delivered to my house the next day. He returned to install it. Then less than 18 months after purchasing the new refrigerator, it started making a strange noise. The next morning, there was water in it.Called LG and was told the warranty was up since it was over a year old to call Abt and use my extended warranty service. Called Abt, they diagnosed the problem as it needing a new condenser! Had to wait on the part. Returned a week later installed the condenser. Later the same day, the panel on the doorways showing an error code and the ice maker or water dispenser wouldnt work nor was it cooling in the refrigerator but the freezer was working. Used my extended service warranty again, had to wait a week to get the part and reschedule another service call. They came out to install the fan.I have now had all three major parts on this less than 1.5 year old LG refrigerator. What else can go wrong now? Thank goodness I had an old 30 year old refrigerator in my garage to use as a backup! Wouldnt ever buy an LG refrigerators again. Hoping this last five years! My earlier refrigerator lasted 22 years with no repairs. I just bought a new one since I had my kitchen remodeled!

When I first had a problem, the ice maker was overflowing the tray and freezing it to a solid block. I had bought this and kept it in storage while building so by the time I had actually used it, the warranty was gone. They were no help at all and I never talked with any people who were less knowledgeable about a product in my life. They did nothing and then later called to see if their service was okay. The only thing they ever said to me was that they never heard of that problem before--never made an attempt to help in any way. I finally found a parts supplier and ordered a new tray and found that they had changed the design because the one that came with it was defective when built. The new one doesnt work good either. It still overflows and I have to break the ice up with a knife. It is a constant struggle to get it to work. Now after a couple of years dealing with that, I started to get a buildup so that it would freeze the whole system up and I could not get any ice out the chute. This time the flapper on the chute was broken and would not stay in place, which let warm air in and melted and refroze everything up. This means I have to take it apart every week just to get it to do anything. I have taped it together with Gorilla tape and hope it will work until I can change it for a new one. This product never worked from day one and it has been a constant struggle just to use it. They have been zero in help in any way. Their customer service is the worst I have ever dealt with. This is my last LG anything.

I have used many boxes of the cleaning product made by Tide to deodorize and contacted a serviceman (at my additional expense) who instructed me to use bleach (only to discover the bleach dispenser is not dependable), remove the entire dispensing tray after each day of laundry, dry the door seal and inside of machine, and leave the door ajar when not in use...... I continue to have a problem with a sickening smell emanating from my clean laundry. I am quite convinced that this washing machine does not clean my laundry...... Whites are grey to beige! Every time I use the ice maker on my LG refridgerator, I hate it even more. Tonight is a good example, where I just needed a few ice cubes for a glass of scotch. More than 20 minutes later, I finally finished cleaning up the mess from the ice maker being frozen up and unable to dispense ice cubes. The resolution, as always, was to take everything apart to unblock the dispenser that was loaded with a frozen chunk of ice cubes and frost, which is likely due to the flap on the dispenser getting stuck open for some reason. This is NOT a one time occurence but one Ive been dealing with since the fridge was purchased more than 3 years ago. This combined with its ridiculously slow time to make ice has convinced me to NEVER, EVER buys another LG product. My contacting LG for support was an insult - everything was my fault and they stood by their claim that they were perfect and I was a nuisance for having contacted them. Ive had similar experiences with contacting them about their ranges, where the front edge of the stove top kept getting chip marks. Turns out they no longer sell a paint to fix these chips and asking them why was met with indifference. Methinks this is because theyre trying to avoid the liability of them having sold a product that has inferior paint or a large batch of ranges with faulty paint.

The LG side-by-side refrigerator with ice and water dispenser is only three years old, but major rust has developed on the door beneath the ice and water dispenser insert. The control panel has had to be replaced once. The ice bucket freezes up regularly and so the ice dispenser wont work (it has been replaced twice) and the ice cover has broken and been replaced. The extended warranty from Sears wont cover the rusting problem and LG refuses to do anything saying that the rust is considered cosmetic. We bought this unit because of its large capacity. At first they went through the diagnosis system still not working, he had to call different times. At one point they said it was my electricity not working correctly lol.The house is only 8 years old but he tested it no problem there. 4th call to them he tested the something in the back. It started to work so thinking it was resolved the tech put all back together again and left. Washed some clothes and here we are again DRYER NOT HEATING, called LG back and they are telling me the tech has to come out again. SMH. Called Lowes. They are putting it on them, and LG simply just do not care that their product is crap, they have poor customer service, so here I sit with a 700 dryer that does not work waiting for the tech to come back out. LG never again will I purchase one of your products.

The motherboard on our 3-door French door style LG - LFX25960ST heated up, melted the plastic housing, and almost started a fire. Thank goodness I was home when it happened. The repairman said the he has had numerous complaints about the LG, and that this should not have happened. I am going to try to get LG to assume some responsibility, but after seeing the comments below I am not optimistic.

We had our kitchen remodeled 5 years ago and none of the appliances (several different brands) have been stellar. However, I will never purchase another LG product again because of our LG refrigerator.Within months, the ice maker hose failed causing a leak every time we accessed the in-door water dispenser. When our wood floor started to bubble up, we then realized something was leaking. The hose was replaced but within a few months, another leak started. This has been a constant problem for the entire 5 years we have had it. We just discovered a new leak but this time it is coming from underneath and on the opposite side of the refrigerator so we are not certain if this has anything to do with the ice maker.LG and Home Depot, where we purchased it as well as an extended warranty plan, have been a huge disappointment and we will never purchase an appliance from either again. The extended warranty only covered major parts after the first 18-24 months, so it was of no help after this time frame. Also, the process of getting someone out here to repair it, was inferior. I had to call the main headquarters of Home Depot. They in turn would have to set up a repair order with one of their contracted LG repair companies.Home Depot would then contact me back and give me the number to call. I would then have to arrange a time for the repairman to come to the house which always took a week or more. Once they came, no matter how clear I was about the problem and where the leak was in the hose, etc., they would always have to order the part which would take several weeks. They would then call me once the part came in to set up a time to return to repair the refrigerator.Consequently we would be without our ice maker working for up to 8 weeks. I share this because even the LG repairmen are inferior or they are overworked. I would love an attorney to contact me since our hardwood floors have been ruined over the years due to the repeated leaking.
