LG Range Model LSCG306ST
The purchase of the LG Washer is by far the worst I have ever made. Despite complaints to LG nothing has been done. The finish on it has faded, during the spin cycle the vibration is horrible, knocking things off the shelf, the smell cannot be controlled along with the mold on the rubber seal. Now I notice chipping on the glass on my front loader that has now produced a crack along one side and is making its way toward the center. Never will I purchase the LG brand again!
LG LD1452WFEN3 - Purchased February 2015, its May now. Had approx. 4 call outs, dishes never clean, mostly never dry. Initially came up with the OE symbol. Unit was apparently not draining due to installation, unit removed, rebuilt. Technician excellent but the dishwasher is very very unreliable, simple product like kids yogurt doesnt wash out of plastic cups. I paid $798 plus $30 to have it installed. Waiting now on feedback and responses from LG and store I purchased from. I will not buy new or LG again. I have not had 1 successful full clean from it. Thanks.
I bought this expensive refrigerator 4 years ago thinking that the more you spend the more reliable. However so untrue. Last year during thanksgiving It broke down. I bought an extra warranty but LG said the compressor was not warranted and I’d have to pay for it myself. I paid for it alright. Ever since the compressor went out I’ve had to pay for a repair man to come to fix it 4 times now. I came home yesterday and found water on the floor. For as much as I have paid on repairs I could have had a brand new refrigerator. So now I’m going to be wise and stay away from LG.
The range looked very nice when I first bought it, but the plastic inside the knob broke after a couple of months. There is no easy way to replace the plastic. I just redid my whole kitchen and its embarrassing that now, I have to use a pair of pliers to turn the burners on and off. On top of it, the cover on the oven door is falling apart. Im extremely disappointed. I expected a better quality from LG.
Purchased and LG LFXS32726S a year and a half ago. 6 months after the warranty expiration (of course) it breaks down. Refrigerator stopped cooling but the freezer still works. If I paid for an extended service plan, ($500 or so per year) I could have a tech come out the next day. I called a local repair company who came out and said that the compressor had a small leak and that I should call LG since the part would still be under warranty. I contacted LG who then scheduled an appointment for 4 days later even though with a service plan I could of gotten service the next day. Service tech texted he was on his way, my daughter was home and did not hear him knocking. He never texted me to state he was outside. Just left. I texted him numerous times to see what his progress of arrival was and no response, I called various times and left messages and no response.I contacted LG customer service who said my ticket was still open (at 10:00 am, tech we found out had come over at 8:34 in the morning). Waited longer and then was told at noon that the call was cancelled because he could not reach me. Funny his first text came in just fine to let me know he was on his way and when I had not heard from him and contacted him numerous times there were only crickets to be heard. Called LG customer service and was given the runaround. First I was given a number to follow up with that was supposed to be where the LG tech was being dispatched from. Called the company, this was a one man show with no employees who did not have a work order sent to him for our repair. Waste of time and aggravation there. Then with 20+ minute wait times on additional calls to customer service to just be told, call this company and see if they can help, we have no appointments available this week to reschedule you and when I asked for a supervisor... 40 minutes later I finally got one. My daughter in the mean time Contacted LG on Twitter and was given phone numbers of repair companies to call. Great customer service right? Here we are a week later with no diagnosis still and now as I am reading many more people are having the same problems. Finally got the repairman to contact me after speaking to the supervisor which was promising and he apologized and stated it must of been a problem with his phone and that he would be there first thing before 8:00 am the next morning. I personally waited for him and called him when he was late. He returned the call after 9:00 am to state he had family problems but was on his way.He then shows up just to tell me that the fan was frozen and we needed to disconnect the refrigerator and let it defrost. Hmmm when I checked online someone had the same errors and mentioned that it was a refrigerator fan that needed to be replaced so I spoke to my husband and daughter who had by then made a secondary appointment with another LG tech because we were not sure this one was going to show up after yesterdays fiasco. Lo and behold we got a third opinion, they agree with our diagnosis and changed the fan and now it is working again. One week and $429.63 out of pocket later so far (btw found fan only cost $80.00 online but we did not know how to install) hopefully this fan will last another year and a half so we can get money to buy a new NON LG refrigerator to replace this one! NEVER again will we purchase an LG product. I really thought I was getting quality and value for my money and now we have learned to do even more research before buying pricey appliances like this in our future.
I would never buy any product from LG (FH4B8QDA1) again. I bought a washing machine that within 6 months was marking my laundry with black streaks. I phoned LG who sent their local engineer. The man who came out said he had never seen such a clean washing machine (I used Calgon as per LGs care instruction in the booklet). He took some photos and said they would be in touch... but he thought the door seal would need replacing even though there was no marks on it at all! I never heard back from them. So I phoned LG again. LG said after the engineer had looked at the machine and made a report. It was because I was using Calgon to clean the machine and non bio laundry liquid. I wasnt entitled to another opinion as I had, had an engineer come out to me! The only thing I could do was to get an independent report on the machine. So I went back to the shop where I bought it and they knew someone who did reports. I had an independent report done on the machine and it was proven by two people and photos that there was grease in the bearings that was getting into the machine. After LG had the report it again took a very long time for any response and a lot of phone calls on my part. They accepted the machine was faulty and were going to replace it. I asked for compensation for all clothes and bedding that had been ruined and I had, had to replace. Suddenly there was nothing wrong with my machine and it was the fact that I used non bio!!! The shop I bought it at ended up replacing it for me. I would never recommend LG to anyone and their customer service is appalling. So much, that I havent even registered this new machine as obviously a guarantee doesnt mean anything anyway!!!
Bought LG washer & dryer a little over 2 years ago at Lowes. The washer just failed. Hundreds of dollars for new electronics board / labor. I wrote polite complaint email to customer service. Got a prompt reply leading off with the phrase “Life is Good. Then, a poorly constructed email telling me off. Rude. No question about what failed, how it failures, where I bought it, how I could get it fixed, how often I used the washer (very little--btw). NADA! If you luck out your LG product will not fail! If something goes wrong, you now own the new LG product line An LG Boat Anchor. Life is good! Dont trust this company! OK, OK, if you like masochism LG is your company! Enjoy!
Our 34-month-old WM3370HVA front load washer started making loud noises and smoking on Aug 20. Here it is Oct 30 and the machine cannot be repaired because not parts have been available. We have submitted our complaint numerous times via LGs website to receive a call back within 24 hours, as the website claims. No return call has been received. We went to Pacific Sales in Best Buy to get their help. The rep spoke with LG customer service and said we would receive a call from LG. That never happened. After several failed attempts to get assistance we spoke with Brenda at ext ** in Alabama. She said she would research our complaint and get back within 24 - 48 hours. That never happened.Oct 17, I spoke with Wendy because Brenda was not available to learn the parts would be at the warehouse tomorrow. Wendy said she would email Brenda and the repairman to notify them. Still have not heard from Brenda. The repairman said he could not do anything until we requested a new work order, by calling LG customer service. Oct 19, after 48 minutes on the phone with various reps and hearing the your time is very precious to us recording 48 times, the call was disconnected. Did the rep call us back? NO!Called customer service again to get an appointment for the repair. They had Monday and Tuesday, next week available. We will be out of town visiting a terminally ill family member and need an appointment after our return on Wednesday. Sorry, they cant schedule that far in advance. We suggested that perhaps there was someone in the company that could schedule an appointment more than one week in advance. The rep said she would see what she could do and call us back. That call has not happened. So two months dealing with LG to repair an expensive machine malfunction is still unresolved. We will never buy another LG product. Avoid LG if at all possible!!
Our LG refrigerator is junk. After 6 months the freezer led lighting went out and requires a $150 part. Cannot see where the buttons are on the front panel because they are not illuminated. It seems the designers have never used the product. Now a year later the water line from the valve to the icemaker is splitting and ruined our kitchen cabinets. This have never happened with any other refrigerator in over 40 years except for LG. Absolute crap materials and workmanship.
Ive had numerous problems with my LG Washer TROMM WM2688. There is bellows hose underneath the tub that gets a hole in it and leaks every few months. It takes about an hour and a half to fix it. I’m on my 5th bellows hose now. It just went out again. Ive also had the water fill valve get stuck on and stay on. I had to replace it. It also has a problem with draining the water from the tub. I get an error saying water is not draining. You hit restart from the pause and it will continue. It could be the pump out, the sensor out, or the control board out. Not sure yet. If I couldn’t work on it myself, I would have spent enough on service to buy a new one. It wouldn’t be an LG. I’ll buy no LG products.
Updated on 02/06/2019: THIS IS AN UPDATE TO A PREVIOUS POST. We strongly do not recommend buying the LG gas oven/range model LSG4513ST due to quality issues. We also strongly do not recommend buying the LG gas oven/range from Lowes due to poor repair service, and the lack of good faith to honor the purchased extended warranty. We purchased a LG oven/range, LG refrigerator, and Bosch dishwasher from Lowes for our kitchen remodel, including a Lowes 5 year extended warranty. Our LG oven/range was installed April 2017, and we immediately observed that the control panel would signal the oven had achieved programmed temperature, but bake or broil items were undercooked. We observed the control panel would signal the temperature had been reached in about 5-10 minutes, but the oven interior took about 45 minutes to reach temperature. The LG service technician in October 2017 stated that the oven/range function was normal. In October 2018, the oven/range began turning itself off after being programmed for bake or broil. Lowes service has made five service calls during November and December 2018, without fixing the problem. Lowes notified us that our extended warranty was invalid after four service calls. The extended warranty was confirmed valid after we threatened legal action. On January 28 2019, Lowes Service phoned and indicated the oven was to be replaced. On Feb 1, 2019, Lowes Service reversed their position and decided to schedule a repair appointment for Feb 7. We have not had a functioning oven for four months.Original review: We purchased an LG LSG4513ST gas oven in Nov 2016. We do not recommend the oven. The oven has never functioned correctly. We purchased the oven from Lowe’s with a 5 year extended warranty. We have had numerous service calls without success. The oven will not stay on after programming.
When I bought my washer, I was told I had to leave the door open to keep it from molding and smelling. I thought that was very odd, but it is correct. Even leaving the door open between loads, I still have a musty moldy odor that lingers on our clothing. I use the correct detergent and clean the washer like directed by the instruction manual. I hate this machine.
Bought this washer about a year ago and have had nothing but problems with it! If I could I would return it! It takes forever to balance, sometimes theres almost no water and then sometimes theres too much water! The clothes come out looking like if theyve been stomped on. I COULD GO ON AND ON ABOUT HOW MUCH IT SUCKS! DO NOT BUY THIS MACHINE! I REALLY, REALLY WISH I COULD RETURN IT!
Purchased the LG Tromm Front Load Washer and Dryer. Home Depot is no help and Tromm is no help. Terrible customer service! Five towels take four cycles to dry!!
We purchased a $1,000 LG washing machine in October 2011. We had always bought Kenmore, but the salesperson said that LG was a great company with good products. So we made the purchase. When the machine was delivered I had noticed on the interior rim that the paint (porcelain?) finish was not smooth in a couple of places about the size of a quarter - this would be directly under the spray head and another area a few inches from the spray head. The delivery person didnt seem to think this was an issue. About 2 years later I noticed that the area directly under the spray head was turning brown, but I didnt think twice about it because at the time I didnt realize this round piece of plastic was a spray head. Well today when I was wiping down the interior of the machine 2 places the size of a pencil eraser came off exposing the metal of the machine. So I called LG to find out what could be done. The first person asked me to upload them and photo, which I did. She told me this was rust and LG would not do anything as this is considered cosmetic. Im like REALLY, this machine is less than 4 years old and rusting. Yup that was the answer. Not good enough for me. So I had purchased an extended warranty - warranty only covered moving parts but they gave me some advice. They told me, in their opinion, this was poor workmanship/defective product and LG should be responsible. So I called LG back and this time I spoke to a head supervisor, of course this was after I had to go through the whole issue with another service rep, just like it was my first call. This woman was so rude, kept cutting me off when I was talking and could not have cared less so I asked that I speak to her supervisor. I asked 3 times to talk to her supervisor and she told me that they do not handle this type of issue and NO I could not talk to them. She repeatedly kept cutting me off saying she would give me phone numbers for some companies to come and make the repair. I am ready for a CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT but not sure how to get in touch with those of you that indicated you want to do the same.
We bought a one year old LG Trom stainless steel washer from a co-worker of my spouse when we moved into our new house. I was not crazy about a front loader but loved the price and the fact he would deliver it. To its credit, it spent the next 2 1/2 years washing up here, including the cast offs of 4-5 bassets hounds, which we foster for the rescue. We got an error code OE on a regular basis and cleaned out the two filters and it came back on. It made our clothes and laundry room smell and always leaked a small amount out on the floor. Finally, it would not clear the OE code although I could run it through the cycles manually. When I checked on getting it repaired, the eye opening started. The first appliance store I called stated that something should be done about these being imported into the country. He virtually recoiled when I told him what I had. And only person in my area (southern Houston, not exactly the boonies) worked on these and could get parts. Okay, I called him. $75.00 service call when we can get to you, and it cant be applied towards the repair. Then I researched online and found out that it would most likely cost 200-400 dollars to fix it with even small things wrong.Okay....maybe I just will buy something else, like the top loading white Kenmore I have spent the last 50 years washing in. I checked around with two used dealers and again, they didnt fix LGs, would not carry them, and didnt want one. The used Kenmore is downstairs merrily washing away in 30 minutes time when the LG took an hour for most anything. Also, I could soak or dye anything in it. It left here with the junk dealer...Good Riddance!
Purchased LG fridge model LFXC24726DLFXC24726D in July 2016. The FIRST FAILURE happened in July 2018. Ive had 10 appointments with LGs repair facility, and 7 have been cancelled by them. My fridge has been repaired 3 times, and STILL doesnt work properly. Ive lost food, been left without a fridge, and am flabbergasted that any company would let known defects off the factory floor, let alone ship them to consumers. It is criminal to sell these defective fridges and rely on repair techs to get the fridge to work...especially since their repair facility has such a lousy record of keeping appointments. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER LG PRODUCT.
The Compressor died after 5 years, Tech support was OK and parts were free but still cost me Almost $1000.00 to repair. The refrigerator has one of the best possible designs for storage and access.
Purchased a top of the line LG Linear something or other. Not going to lie. It’s beautiful. We get lots of compliments on it but just over 3 years old and it stopped making ice. Now it’s not freezing and the fridge part is not cooling enough. Milk keeps going bad. Customer service is full of it. They know what’s wrong with their product and they keep asking you to check for leaks and to reset it. They gave me 3 contacts in my area to have it checked. First contact “we don’t work on refrigerators.” I think they mean just LG refrigerators. Second one never called me back despite multiple messages left and the 3rd one, number disconnected.I finally called someone else with years of experience and he said, Check out LG online and you’ll see what that what I’m telling you is common with LG. Type of compressor is great. Saves you about 100 dollars a year on electricity if you don’t mind paying 1000 dollars to “maybe” fix it. Yes he said, Maybe LG will give you a new compressor but labor will run you about 1000.00 and I will not warranty my work for more than 3 months because it’s common for them to break down again within a year. I’m just going to buy a new one but not an LG. He highly recommended Frigidaire. Cheaper. No frills. Not very fancy but they last a long time.
Tried to arrange a service call for an LG washer thats four days (how convenient for LG) out of warranty. Tried for two hours to get through, but only received message that they were experiencing higher than usual call volume and to try to call back later. DO NOT call their customer service unless you have all day to try to get through.
I purchased my washer in 2007 and have been pleased with using it. I am now getting a TE error and I cannot get anyone out that will fix it. I called 2 services and both of them will not even come out to work on it. I had another man come out today and said I need a mother board and he told me they no longer make them??? He said it could be the Thermistor and the part cost $40. Funny, I went online and the cost is $7.00. I have taken the machine apart myself and I am willing to put in my own thermistor but I cannot locate it or find someone at LG to help me. I have been told its in the front which I cannot reach and also told its on the top??? No one will even guarantee they can fix it. LG wants $125 just to come out and service it and there is no guarantee they will fix it. Never again will I purchase a LG.
LFX31925ST/00 - Nothing but problems! 3 instances of the freezer defrosting. The ice machine leaked from day 1 and rusted down the front of the door and around the dispenser. We had to fight to get that door replaced. Theyve fixed the freezer twice as well and my food is defrosting AGAIN as I type this. Geek Squad guy is outside on his phone trying to handle it when what we should be doing is picking out a new fridge because ours should be recalled!!
We bought our 4 door LG refrigerator in 2015 when we remodeled our home. It is by far the worst appliance purchase we have ever made. Weve had the compressor fail and replaced early on, then the ice maker was replaced, then one of the glass doors cracked, and now the compressor has failed again. In both cases when the compressors failed, we have had to throw away the entire fridge full of food, which is very expensive for us. I understand that the technology in newer refrigerators may be more sensitive, and life expectancy may be less than what they used to be, but this has been an inexcusable experience with a very expensive appliance.
After less than one year of owning my stainless LG gas range, the 5 knobs, which are made to mimic stainless, bubbled on the outside and cracked at the attachment spot. LG replaced them as it was within the warranty period. That was February 12, 2011. Less than one year later, 4 of 5 knobs are again bubbled and broken. I have not phoned LG to see their response yet but regardless, clearly the quality is incredibly poor.
Purchased LG LFSX29766s 3 years ago. Linear compressor failed within 1 year. Went through a nightmare of a process to have it replaced (had to buy extended warranty to cover the cost.). 2 years later -- linear compressor has failed again. Turns out this is a known problem with LG refrigerators. When they repair they just use the same faulty technology which ends up in repeated failures. Multiple class action lawsuit launched against LG. Awful product. Very disappointed in customer service response.
Ive posted on this site regarding my Maytag stackable washer and dryer. Now Im posting regarding my BRAND NEW LG stackable washer and dryer. After much researching online regarding stackable washers and dryers, I finally went with the LG brand. My Maytag washer went dysfunctional after 6 months. For the following 8 months, I had Maytag repair guys at my home, every two weeks, to fix the same exact problem. I had an error code that flashed on the machine. It was THE same code each and every time. Every part that was replaceable on the machine had been replaced, yet the problem continued. Maytag customer service is HORRIBLE.Now LG. The washer, when pumping water into the machine, caused a loud thumping in my walls. The vibration of the washer caused a rubbing and squelching noise from the dryer stacked on top. The company is well aware of the dryer problem and told me, There is nothing we can do about it. They are selling a machine they KNOW has a problem. The washer problem was an electrical problem, also not fixable. And when a certified LG technician comes to your home and tells you in all honesty that he has nothing good to say about his company, then THIS IS A MAJOR problem. The machines are 2 DAYS OLD AND DO NOT WORK. Customer service is HORRENDOUS. I literally spent an entire day talking with customer service. It was only when I was speaking with the 8TH representative that a repair appointment was finally made. One representative actually asked me this, Can you describe the noise? Can you better describe the noise? Can you give different words to describe the noise? Who knew there were so many ways to ask the same exact question repeatedly? I also had to repeat answers to other questions as well.Needless to say, the machines will be returned and I am on the hunt for a different brand. The problem is, when you go to research the variety of brands, all of them have complaints. And what I have noticed is that for the majority of brands, their machines become dysfunctional at the two year mark. This is pretty shabby, considering you are spending close to $1000 or more per machine. I just dont have thousands of dollars every year to spend on appliances because the companies out there, cant seem to make durable products anymore. My parents have Kenmore appliances. Theyve had the same appliances for YEARS and no problems. What happened to decent machines? And what the heck happened to great customer service?? If there was a 10 star option for the worst service and machines imaginable, I would choose that.
In a nut shell, LG is designing washing machines that are designed strictly to garner a low Energy Star rating and they dont function as a consumer has every right to expect them to. Main example: set washer to cotton/ normal. Choose hot wash. What I end up with is an 84-degree water in the tub when the hot water heater at 120 degrees is only 2 feet away. I know for certain that it is engineered to pull cold water in with the hot as it fills the tub. Set on hot wash, you cannot even defeat the machine by turning off the cold water. It stops and wont run until you turn it back on. The main factor, I come to find out, in a washing machine’s total energy used includes the energy it takes to heat the water it uses. If the hot cycle uses less hot water from the tank, and the warm cycle is not warm, the overall energy consumption is low. It gets a great Energy Star rating. But then what the consumer end up with for their 620 dollars in this case is a washing machine that is designed to be a bad washing machine. But I think you see the point that the consumer has the right to expect that when they want to wash hot, they get hot, want warm, and get warm and so on. And the washer without a doubt under-performs because of it. It also wont get clothes clean unless you choose water plus. The manual states: Use this option for superior results.” But, of course, we know when being tested for Energy Star, they are not using water plus. Clearly, LG is marketing an Energy Star rating, not a washing machine. They have with purpose designed a machine to be marketable and deceived the buyer into believing the machine works as effectively as other machines with worse Energy Star numbers.I have been to the wall with LG over this. After five service calls and an LG service man and an independent one, they say they hear the same complaint all the time. When asking the service technician and at every level of customer service, including what they call executive services, why it pulls cold water into the hot cycle, their answer is that it’s designed that way and that’s just the way it is. A description read to me by Valerie in executive services about how the hot cycle works was a blatant, probable lie. I’m going to try and get it in writing or get it to read it to me again and record it. She, of course, could do nothing but deflect questions about why water ends up at 84 degrees in the tub with 120 degrees in the hot water tank. When I told her I was absolutely not satisfied with her answers and ask to talk to someone else, I was told in 2 different calls on the matter that she was the final authority and that was the end of what LG would have to say about it. I would think that proving a machine was designed around the Energy Star rating for marketing purposes without regard for the resulting machine actually qualifying as a washing machine would make a good class action. And this low energy consumption design is across the board on the LG machine.Narrow it down to machines of similar tub size as my WM2140C and you can clearly see the absurdly low yearly energy use numbers. Washing machines are not rocket science. There is no magic in their motors or circuits to have the actual machine use dramatically less energy than its competitors. The savings is coming completely from it using less hot water and that of course is not something in any sales literature or the manual. I have the right to expect something marketed as a washing machine to allow me to wash whites and other things I decide that need hot water in actual hot water. By the way, the warm cycle is 58 degrees. In whose world is 84 degrees hot and 58 degrees warm? The machine is 10 months old and still under warranty until mid-May. I perceived the hot water difference early on, but didn’t initially complain about it because I gave the benefit of the doubt as to whether it would function at those temperatures, which I now see clearly that it does not. Then, it took months of service calls to solve other problems with the machine. Pressure sensor problems would continually shut the machine down mid cycle. Turning the machine off and back on cleared the code, but you’d have to start the cycle over again and hope it worked. It became a real problem to go to the basement expecting the machine to be done only to find it shut down. They replaced the same pressure sensor 3 times and it still had the problem. Finally, they replaced it again along with the whole wiring loom and the main electronic board before it worked. Then, I was back to the temp issue. I had no reason to think that manufacturers could play these kinds of games with the Energy Star rating. I bought the machine based largely on the perception that LG was a reputable manufacturer because I was very happy with an LG HD TV I bought 4 years before.
Purchased LG washer, dryer, stove & refrig about 5 yrs ago. Very expensive, but was very happy when I got them. Dryer have replaced 2 - drums, last one has lasted 2 mos, paper thin drum, stove, unit went out that I rarely use and i.m. - rarely works. Never would I spend that kind of money for appliances that are worthless.
This washer and dryer is a real piece of junk, which I paid $2,400 for. I have a real mold problem. The washer has now developed a main bearing problem. The tub and motor have a 7 year warranty, but the bearing that holds it all together is only covered for only1 year. They will not fix it, and they are asking for $500, to replace the bearing. I was told it would be covered by the warranty, until the repairman came to my home, then informed me it is not covered. LG will not respond to my problem. We need a class action suit. As there is more than 270 pages of complaints on this site alone.
We have just started in the process of dealing with the design flaw for the LFX31925ST/00. There are 3 defined steps of symptoms: (1) a loud noise coming from the lower back of fridge; (2) icing up of the back panel; (3) RF 1 error. Apparently, this is a due to a design flaw and new panel has been redesigned to fix the problem. Also, not all consumers and including us got the memo of the problem, we are dealing with it now. We have American Home Shield who sent out a repairman today. So we will wait now until tomorrow to find out what will get fixed.A minor irritant, the front plane where the lever for water is located, the lever just falls out now. The directions on the ice maker and water dispenser were silk-screened on this model. We see the new models are etched (much better). The panel had a plastic covering that has come off. This is like buying a very expensive car with wood paneling and then the wood paneling begins to flap around while you are driving. Cosmetically poor. Meanwhile, these products get good ratings from Consumer Reports. We are subscribers and did our home work. Apparently, CR did not. In the picture, you will note the panel is discolored with black at the bottom. The water dispensing lever falls out. The good news, the panel apparently can be bought for 105 dollars: **.
We bought a house with built-in LG double wall ovens. They were inspected prior to our purchase and worked fine. We decided to use the self-clean mode on the upper unit that is built in to the appliance and what a huge mistake that was! The electronic touch screen went blank, the door locked shut, and the oven heated up to some insane temperature that had us concerned the unit would catch the wood enclosure the ovens were built into on fire. The self-clean took over 5 hours to complete and the upper oven has not worked since. I went online to see if I could figure out what happened and saw that this is a very common complaint about LG ovens. So, I contacted LG to file a claim and they refused to acknowledge the issue and said they would not warranty the appliance because our purchase contract didnt specifically call out the serial and model numbers of the BUILT IN UNIT. They had no concern about the fire hazard created by using the self-clean feature on the unit and no offer to inspect or correct the damage (that seems to be a regular occurrence) caused by using their appliances self-clean feature. LG offers both a shoddy appliance and a shoddy customer service experience. I will not be purchasing another LG product.
After the freezer broke the fault has been diagnosed to a small leak that the technician cant find, He said LG would replace the fridge with new one. After all its only 2 yrs old. Still 3 weeks later and being told by LG for me to call the tech for the report and find out what is happening.... Promised phone calls never returned. LG Lifes grumpy.
Purchased an LG Door-within-a-door Refrigerator in July 2017. On September 6, 2020 the unit failed and we woke the next day to find all the food in the freezer was soft and the refrigerator was warm. Because of the holiday we had to wait 2 days to get a repair man to diagnose the problem... only to find out that no one in our area would service LG refrigerators due to consistent problems with warranty issues.3 calls to the LG 800 Customer Service center provided additional frustration due to the artificial intelligence support person taking information and then stating that it was a warranty issue and I would be handed off to a live agent... only to have the call dropped after 45 seconds of Muzak. I then went to the web site customer support and after providing all the information again to the service bot I was handed over to a live agent, and had to repeat all the information since he could not access the service bots data. After a 20 minutes of review and discussion it was determined it was probably a warranty issue and he authorized a repair ticket to be sent to an authorized repair tech, and after a 5 minute search reported that he could not find an available repair tech in my locality, but he would e-mail with the information. He did e-mail a name and contact information of a repair service and said I would get a call from them to set up the appointment, and if I didnt hear from them within 7 days to call LG back. The repair service called the next day September 9th and gave me a tentative appointment for September 17th to replace the compressor, assuming that LG sent the correct part on time. This was their 1st available appointment as they had that many LG compressors failing. Today September 15th I received a call stating that the compressor had not shipped yet and the anticipated receipt gave a new install date of October 2nd.... 25 days after the refrigerator failed! Never again will I consider an LG product.
I have been trying to replace a broken shelf support in my 10 year old refrigerator. The part should cost about $20 and without it, the $2500 refrigerator can barely be used. I have found the part number and contacted everyone on the internet that claims to have one. One parts person told me that they had several in stock in past years but this was a high demand item and they could not get anymore. Universally I was told that the part is no longer available.I finally got through directly to LG customer service and (after being disconnected twice), was informed that LG does not make or keep parts past 7 years after a product was made. Nor did they have a substitute for it. They said I should call any local parts companies to see if they might have one lying around. I explained that no one has this in stock and asked to speak to a supervisor. The rep took my information and assured me that I would hear from a supervisor within 1 hour. That was two days ago. I have had a problem with a different (small) LG product in the past, but cannot believe how little they support their customer base. There is no way I could recommend to anyone that they should try this companys products.
I decided to purchase it because I got a great deal on it. Had a rebate for it when I bought it. Also, other people had recommended LG to me. I like that it was high quality and lasted a long time. I had the fridge for almost 10 years. I really liked the capability to make ice and dispense water from the outside of the door and the freezer worked. Nothing that I specifically didnt like, it was a really good fridge. Theres not too much to complain about. It met my initial expectations.
I am having the same issue as everybody else with defective gas range knobs that break due to the internal plastics. Replacements knobs from LG similarly break within days or weeks due to the same defect. They have refused to issue a recall or even a bulletin despite thousands of complaints by consumers. I have started a petition calling for a recall on Change.org. You can also report this to the US consumer product safety commission: Saferproducts.gov.
I bought this French door refrigerator in 9/2008 from Sears. I thought I was buying a Kenmore. It was sold to me as a Kenmore. Shortly after getting it, I received a letter stating that the energy efficiency was not as claimed. They sent someone out to make it more efficient. When the refrigerator was a little over the year warranty, the rubber gasket broke between the French doors. Sears sent out a repairman and for $300, it was repaired. The repairman told me it happens all the time and most people just use duct tape to hold it together! I was also informed when I made that phone call, that in reality I had an LG refrigerator. Last summer, the ice maker broke. We chose not to spend the $400-plus to repair it. Now, under the freezer drawers, we have 1/2 inch sheet of ice! We cleaned it all out and one day later, have another sheet of ice! To sum it up: rubber gaskets keep ripping, ice maker doesnt work and ice sheets in the bottom! Thats all in 3 1/2 years! I would not have bought this refrigerator if I had known it was an LG as I had read the bad reviews. They lied about the energy efficiency to sell their product and deceive the consumer by not informing them of who actually makes the appliance! And neither Sears nor LG will assume any responsibility!
I purchased a DLGX3471V dryer and I have to say, I so regret tossing my perfectly good Kenmore for this piece of junk. It never fails but EVERY load I dry comes out with ripped and torn clothing from catching on the lint tray that no longer fits into the door slot. The plastic breaks apart and catches on the clothes (especially bra straps and tank tops) making them unusable. I have lost a ton of pants and shirts being mangled and ripped by the broken pieces of plastic on the lint tray. I have ordered and replaced the screen twice since it was purchased (3 screens in 4 years). Avoid LG products - hopefully whomever came up with this design no longer works for the company!
I have to re-adjust the load twice per load, minimum. Right now, have waited 4 hours for a load. Ive tried all jeans, all sheets, a mix etc. God forbid if you add a pair of jeans or a sweatshirt to lightweight clothes. Trouble finding repairmen as they want no part of LG. Going back to dumb washer. Thought it was me until I found this site. Stay away.
LG is not a brand I would recommend to anyone. After being on hold for quite some time and passed to 4 different departments, all by accident, when all I want is help with a washer issue that is a known issue. Apparently the unit we purchased, a top loader inverter has issues with drainage after a short period of time. The washer is unbearably smelly. Water seems to stay in the plastic tub instead of draining. After going thru the manual and reading all the complaints online after the fact, we have not found a solution for a practically new washer. Oh, and our purchase records are apparently lost. So of course their only solution is to contact service and pay to have their known issue fixed. I will never purchase LG again. Have not had issues with other vendors like I have had with this one. If anyone has seen this issue and corrected, I would love to hear your solution.
Two months ago the washer filled up and would not spin or drain. I had to have one of the kids wring the water out of the clothes pc by pc. I contacted a friend that did appliance repairs and asked for some help. He wasnt able to arrive for a week, after which time it was discovered it was the drum of the washer. I contacted LG and they said not to worry that it would be covered as a lifetime coverage. Great! Next problem I bought this off of co-worker and his partner that they had it for about a year prior but was going into a home foreclosure and sold it to me. I didnt ask for the receipt at that time not thinking it was an issues as they bought it at our local Home Depot just around the corner from us both. So as I am speaking with the LG Rep on the phone, she takes my info and then says okay I have everything I need, now we just need your tech to call in the repair call so it can be further processed. I explained the whole story as I did not have receipt and that it was never called in as I was the owner. She said thats okay, not to worry, that wouldnt be an issue. My friend calls in the problem to them, they tell him okay; its covered but all they need is a proof of purchase. Not so easy, the co-workers partner had passed a year ago and there was no remembering what CC was used to purchase or what phone number so Home depot has no way to track it. Needless to say months later, still no washer and now since I am on a fix budget as a single mom, I now have to use a laundry mat to do our laundry, very hard after many years. Its the freaking drum that is cover and I can show them exactly which store the Serial Numbered Washer was purchased from but that is not good enough after one rep said it wasnt a problem. I have told my friends and family, not to waste their time with LG Products as they too will run into POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. Nothing but a run around and ** just to get out of the lifetime coverage. Avoid LG if you want better quality. Go with Maytag, I had one for over 10 + years!!!!
I purchased a top loading LG washing machine three years ago and I absolutely hate it!!! It takes forever to wash and the clothes dont smell clean! The machine itself stinks and It is so bad I have to use air fresheners in my laundry room. I tried the tub cleaning liquid (whoever thought you would have to clean a washing machine!) and bleach several times and only on the day I do this does it not smell. By the next day the smell is back! Dont buy this washing machine! I am so sorry I purchased it and I am ready to bust it up with a hammer so I can get a new one (never LG again!). Paid a lot of money for it too!
Well, this is the first and LAST LG product Ill ever have. Waveforce top loader WT-5001CW. The consumer reports at the time we purchased the washer were good, but I guess only for the time they got any ink. After only three years this thing, like all the others reviewed here, throws up the UE (uneven) trouble code, and smells like a sweaty billy goat even with routine cleaning/preventative maintenance. Our clothes also have the same odor after being washed in this contraption, especially the towels. The first recall reprogramming was done shy of a year after delivery, so we never got to see it self destruct, although now I kind of wish it had because it would have at least provided some good entertainment considering how much this pos cost!! $800 for any sort of appliance that cant make it even 3 years without repairs, and cant perform the tasks it claims to = LEMON in my book. But the worst part of it all is, the company contracted to repair it is either heavily burdened with fixing these overgrown paperweights, or horribly understaffed, because theres apparently a two-week window in between each time they can get to me to diagnose and repair, with parts having to be sent from some God-forsaken dirt stain way out somewhere! Maybe I should feel fortunate that so far we havent been duped into dumping more money into this HE pit, but I shouldnt be having to take off from work for bs like this; I still lose money if I dont go to work, right?! Im firmly starting to believe that there is nothing new thats worth owning. Maybe you should too! LG should be BOYCOTTED for their transgressions against the consumers, and manufacturing should be brought back to AMERICA!
We have had the worst experience with our front load LG Washer. It does not wash clean, the clothes come out dirty. It does not wash and rinse with enough water, sometimes when a load is in the rinsing stage I look inside, I can see some part of my clothes are still looking dry... I have been doing laundry for 30 years, I had Whirlpool, Samsung washers, I never encountered any problem. With LG it is a headache, I never had to use bleach, now I find myself using bleach when washing my towels. This is not my only problem. The machine displays 53 minutes for a cycle but then the whole process ends up taking like 2 hours. Our machine is under warranty so we called them twice and both times the repairman came and basically said that there is nothing wrong with our machine, it is doing what is supposed to do. I believe that it was not built right, there was be some errors in the way they designed it. It should not even been called LG washing machine, it should be called LG dirtying machine. I will never buy any LG products again.
I have a HE washer that has needed repairs over the years and since I bought it from Sears with the extended warranty, the repairs were covered. Finally it got the death sentence: $2300 to fix, so Sears is giving me replacement value towards a new washer. I was trying to decide between a Kenmore and an LG model. So many of you have talked about getting a Kenmore instead of any other. Thanks for helping me decide to stick with Sears brand. Oh, and I am paying the $$ for the extended warranty on that one, too. Thanks!
We purchased the LG front loader washer & dryer for our daughter & son-in-law as a gift in 2012. It is only 3 years old & the washer start button does not work! They have been without a washer for weeks. This is ridiculous to have this happen with such a new expensive washer! Now the repairman said the part is on back order!!! OMG! LG should send them a new washing machine!! Needless to say, with a household of 3, there is a lot of laundry. On back order, how long will it take to get the part in?
I bought a New LG washing machine. 5 weeks later it squeaks nonstop while washing clothes. I called LG, they send a repair guy out who is in my home less than 5 min and says I have no idea whats wrong with it and he leaves! I had to call LG again 3 weeks later because we hadnt heard anything from the repair guy and all they said was call the repair guy back. Here we are almost 2 months later and still have a squeaking washing machine! LG will not replace my machine. They are making us order parts! Very unhappy customer who has only made 3 payments!
I bought this LG dishwasher 2 years ago. The dishwasher never worked well. Dishes were not clean, racks collapsed, the cycles it offered were useless. The Smart Diagnosis does not function. The app is not yet set up. Within the first year the dishwasher completely broke down and I had to replace the motor. I asked for a new dishwasher but the company refused. I figured it was a lemon. Now a little past the second year the dishwasher is not draining. I took the dishwasher out of the space to make sure that the pipe was not kinked. I found a tissue stuffed in a spot where a screw should have been. The repair man probably put it there to prevent something from jiggling. How do I know he repaired it properly? I spoke with customer service in the Philippines. The girl was cordial but explained that to fix the dishwasher it was going to cost me $400. I asked to speak to a supervisor. They transferred me to a girl in Alabama who was less than helpful. She was rude. She just talked and talked about how I should have bought an extended warranty and did not let me get a word in. Finally she ended up hanging up on me. It seems like highway robbery that I pay 899 for a dishwasher that breaks in the first year, then little into the second year they want me to pay another 400. I cannot afford to pay 440 dollars a year to have a dishwasher. I had a Maytag before this that lasted 20 years and I paid about $350 for it.
Because the defrost heater went out after the 1 yr warranty, I had to pay to have the defrost heater replaced which cost me $400. It has been a little over a year and its freezing up all up under the crispers and deli tray again. Ice everywhere. LG does not back their products. I guess I can expect to pay $400 every year to have this part replaced. I wont ever buy an LG product again.
It was a regular 2 door refrigerator. Had multiple shelved. It was great quality and would not want to use anything else. It has areas for the fruit, for the vegetables and great amount of space for the frozen items. Now it is getting kind of old and its time for a new one. It met my initial expectations by being the style, the color and had the features I wanted so LG has been a great brand for me. The amount of storage has been excellent but now that I have kids more storage room would be great to have.
It was always short on water but my clothes appeared clean. I no longer sure about that because it wont even melt a pod. Had service come - its made that way - cant change. No more LG, or front loader.
Purchased a LG electric range, dishwasher and refrigerator and microwave. My wife and I decided this would be a present for both of us for our 25th wedding anniversary. We decided to get the top of the line stove with the convection stove, black glass top self cleaning range. The oven was blue inside and all the appliances were stainless steel. Within a few months we used the self cleaning feature on the oven and afterwards, the stove digital display showed an error and nothing worked. We called and after a several weeks, we had a service person come and repair the oven. It seemed that an electrical component had burned out. We again after a month or so used the self clean feature and once again display showed an error and once again waited for a repair. The second repairman told it this the same electrical component had burned out. He informed us that it was an LG design flaw which vented the 500 plus degree cleaning temperature vented partially on the circuit board burning it out. He said to avoid this, to not use the self cleaning feature. So this top of the line self cleaning oven had to be hand scraped clean. We have now noticed that the outer door on the oven is starting to fall off. The inner door is in place and the only thing holding the outer door on right now is the handle. Why of course we are out of warranty and now do we pay outrageous service call fees and parts or let it fall the rest of the way apart and trash it? The refrigerator shelves are flimsy and several have cracks and it takes, if you dont use it, approximately 4 days for the ice bin to fill. Its too bad that you can spend a great deal of money on a product and have problems with it several months after making the purchase. My wife is a Real Estate Broker and will make sure no new or homeowners needing appliance to steer clear of LG products.
I purchased LG front load machine in June 2012, since then I am very unhappy and not at all satisfied with the cleaning of the machine. I have many LG products at my home and had no bad experience with any of them but since the day I purchased the front load LG machine, I regret the decision of buying LG product. In the span of 2 years of purchase of machine, I have called customer services on several occasions for help and few of your technician have visited my place as well. I did whatever was advised to me by your technicians, I am still not satisfied with the cleaning and the machine functioning. My sister and mother are using the same model of machine and they are highly satisfied but when they came to my place and washed clothes in my machine, even they found a problem in my machine cleaning which your technicians are unable to find. I feel as if I have been sold a LG product with false promises which is classified as mis-selling. I think customer satisfaction should be the priority of every brand rather than selling products. I, as a customer, feel as if I have been cheated. I need my machine to be replaced or else I will make sure to take this matter further. Thanks.
I have a double oven and I love being able to bake more than one item. I can make dinner and make desserts at the same time. Sometimes family wants two different items so you are able to do more than one. So grateful for that!
Another 3 years to the day just shut down, stopped cooling!! We had the extended warranty. 5 days to get a repairman...was told it was compressor. They would submit for a claim. Work was denied by warranty, too expensive. So they tried to get a local repairman and he said he does not work on LG refrigerators. They are not fixable, SOOO we are out 3,600 for a 3-year-old fridge. Oh warranty wanted money upfront to order part from Korea that would take weeks!!! No LG, never again!!!
We bought a LG washer (top loading.) and dryer set at Best Buy, 20 June 2016. They looked like quality products, but we were very mistaken. The washer spends a lot of time load sensing, almost as much as washing. A lot of clicking going on, and the tub jiggles back and forth for a few minutes before the washing cycle starts. Even with Extra Water, selected, it is barely enough to get the clothes thoroughly wet in the wash cycle. The clothes in the very middle of the tub never hardly move during the agitation, so they do not really get washed good. Then during this last week the washer goes from wash cycle to spin cycle. It forgets the rinse cycle. Also, we can only get hot water, never warm. For some reason the warm setting is always cold. It also takes a long time just to wash a load of clothes. The dryer will not dry our clothes completely, but we work around that problem, and we shouldnt have to. We had a Kenmore washer and dryer set for thirteen years, and never had many problems. I worked as a product designer for many years, and our company had strict rules for testing and designing before any new product was introduced to the market. I can hardly believe that LG is putting these defective new products out to the marketplace. Anyway, we are disgusted, and learned a very expensive lesson.
We purchased an LG washer and dryer set at Home Depot and within two weeks and only a few washes the washer leaks from the front. We had to pay an LG technical person $145 to come to our house and tell us it was because we have a dog and he said even a single dog hair in the door seal will make the front door leak. If you own a dog - this is a really terrible option for a washer. Apparently you need to clean the rubber seals and door after every wash and its virtually impossible to clean dog hair off of the rubber gasket in the front. Its still leaking and neither Home Depot or LG will take the product back. Too bad they cant at least pay for my water damaged floors. I can also add that the dryer is the noisiest I have ever owned. Also not recommending it. Maybe a Maytag from Sears next time?
Updated on 01/08/2019: After two failures and unsuccessful repairs, Asurion sent another repair company over. The repairman walked into the house and said I know what the problem is already as he heard the compressor groaning in the kitchen. After conferring with his boss over the phone, I was informed that they no longer will do repairs on LG products because LG does not pay their invoice. So not only does Home Depot continue to sell this junk, but the repair shops that would handle the extended warranty repairs will not work on LG. A couple of weeks later, Asurion (out of the blue) called and said that a reimbursement check was being sent. Could that be due to the class action lawsuit recently filed nationwide against LG?? So we got the check, disposed of the LG, and bought a KitchenAid that sits quietly in the kitchen, keeping things cool and keeping us composed. OH, and never a word from LG through any of this business.Original Review: Two Compressors in Two Months...LG is junk: We purchased this LG from Home Depot in December of 2016. It had great features, was very attractive, and large capacity. In November, 2017 we returned home to find the kitchen flooded and the fridge was warm. We called the Home Depot warranty company and a repairman came out two days later. They didnt have local repairmen so he came from 60 miles away btw. He said it was the compressor and he said he replaces LG compressors on a regular basis. Ultimately it took him 3 weeks to obtain one due to LG being out of stock on compressors. He installed it and the warranty company gave us a food reimbursement check. Two days later, the same thing happened! Spoiled food. Flood. Repairman showed up again and repeated the slow ordering process. Home Depot sent over a small dorm fridge just in time for Thanksgiving. Now the compressor is again making noises. LG is totally unresponsive to this; they would rather the repairmen make the repairs for them, that they are too cheap to do upon manufacture.
After 4 years compressor went on the LG $3000 refrigerator. Bought it from Home Depot with extended warranty. Tried calling BBB. Got hung up on and am now seeing this is happening to everyone who has an LG. So far taking 6 days for repairman. Buyer beware.
WE bought an LG fridge about 3 years ago. It was pretty expensive so I assumed I would get quite a bit of life out of it. Well the compressor just went out and while looking up warranty it looks like my model only has a 1 year parts warranty. Had I known that I would have probably not bought LG. It looks like the compressor is almost 300 dollars and who knows how much the labor is going to cost. Im may be better off just buying a new fridge. It makes me sick to my stomach to pay almost 3000 dollars for a fridge and only be able to get 3 years out of it.
The reason why our clothes will not get clean is the the bad smell and black mold coming from the washing machine. I recently realized the source of our recurring upper respiratory infections and skin rashes.
It has been 3 weeks since my front load washer decided to start leaking out of the filter. Called LG and they said they would contact quality appliance in woodland. Too make a long story short, quality appliance never showed up or called. No way to leave a message. Called LG at least 8 times for them to tell me to keep calling the repair guys. Finally called them back to speak with a supervisor. On top of that called Home Depot where it was purchased because I was at my wits end. Stay away from LG their call center representatives are like robots. All they continue to say is Im sorry even when they dont mean it. Hopefully tomorrow it gets fixed.
Had two LG refrigerators fail within 5 years. The monumental problem is the horrible customer support and the way they try to keep delaying until you get frustrated and just lay out the money for another refrigerator. Planned obsolescence and they charge quite a bit. They should not be permitted to sell in the USA. I have been calling for our most recent refrigerator failure and they told me to wait by the telephone. They would call me on Monday and that was ten 10 days ago so I call and each time I call they state they are trying to find a service person and it shouldnt be that hard in a large city. Many times they promise you everything on the telephone in order to get a good call in review then do nothing about the request for help, totally manipulative. The current one that failed, I might add, in about 4 years.
We purchased a new LG dishwasher. After the 1st time using it came up with LE error. Paperwork mentioned problem with motor to call for service. I contacted LG service. She took down my information and told me she could not get it repaired for approximately 2 weeks. I then called Conns service and they stated they would get back with me within 48 hrs. 48 hrs came and went so I called back. They stated they cant find a repairman in the area. This was unacceptable so I contacted 2 other managers before I got any thing half way accomplished. They had to send a man to my house to verify it was getting the error code. They then decided yes it needs replaced. This should not be allowed. I just hope I can stop this before it happens to anyone else. Needless to say they are SUPPOSE to deliver a new one Friday.
We have only had this washer 6 years and when the display reads 10 it doesn’t go any further toward zero. It will run For about 20 minutes and then Give a UE error which is basically saying the load is not balanced. But if it is empty then how is it out of balance? Then you call for a service place to look at it and they want to charge $90 just to show up which forces most people to trying to figure it out on their own. Has anyone else had this same problem And could offer the remedy for it?
The motherboard on our 3-door French door style LG - LFX25960ST heated up, melted the plastic housing, and almost started a fire. Thank goodness I was home when it happened. The repairman said the he has had numerous complaints about the LG, and that this should not have happened. I am going to try to get LG to assume some responsibility, but after seeing the comments below I am not optimistic.
I purchased a new washer and dryer from Home Depot in June 2019. The washer broke in October, 5 months old. I called LG customer service on 11/4/19. The sent a repair man out the following day. He needed to order parts, and said they would arrive the following Monday. I waited a week and no parts. I called customer service again and was told the parts were on back order, so they request a defective replacement. I called a week later, and was told the request was denied as the part was shipping and would be in on 11/26. I called on the 26th and was told the parts were still on back order and that they were referring it back to defective replacement department and they would contact me. I called again today, 11/29, and was told she could not see that it had been referred for replacement and that I would need to call back Monday morning. So far it has been almost a month with no resolution in sight. Although after reading some of the other reviews, I may have months more of waiting.... Customer service agents are outsourced and speak very broken English. They are very unhelpful and they have no managers to transfer to. They do excel at giving you the run around though! This was the most expensive washer I have ever purchased. I am very disappointed. Side note, the dryer was broken when the delivery guys first brought it out, so they took it back and Home Depot had to order another one.... Thank goodness the delivery guys knew what they were doing, or I most likely would have been dealing with the dryer from day one.
We purchased the LG Front Load Inverter Direct Drive Washing Machine (Model: WM2301HR) and Dryer. I paid a pretty penny for them both. After a little over a year, our washing machine and clothes smelled rotten and mildewy. My husband looked at the machine and noticed molds on the bottom and in its parts. There should be a recall on this machine. Its gross and unhealthy for a household. The dryer takes two cycles now to dry a load. Of course, its past the one-year warranty so we are ** now. Dont buy these machines. Its a waste of money and it looks like there have been many similar complaints on these machines in the past.
Purchased new LG side by side from Home Depot in fall of 2012. Rust started appearing under the water/ice maker after the 1 year warranty had passed. The shelves also started to break about that time. It looks disgusting and I called LG for remedy and they said for me to do regular maintenance! Now I have moved to another home that has stainless appliances and cannot use this white fridge. Who wants it now... No one due to the rust on the front. Horrible experience.
Approx 13 months after purchasing this nice LG French Door Refrigerator, Model LFXS30726S, the door display panel had a strange looking black leakage appearing at the bottom. This continues to get worse. It was outside of Mfg warranty (of course), purchased from HHGregg. Took pictures, tried to work with HHGregg, LG, and the service contract company---all said this was a cosmetic issue. No harsh cleaners have been used, no misuse or abuse. Now a year later its even worse. LG customer service is horrible, no help whatsoever. Warranty company continues to say cosmetic. So after spending over $2000 for this refrigerator, its my problem. I will not buy an LG product ever again, and I tell everyone I know to stay away from them. This is why I am writing this review, so other consumers wont be caught in a similar situation.
LG is a great brand. From phones to tvs and even the fridge, everything they make lasts and LG is always a great brand to have. I would love to own more of their products if I can. I like the easy open freezer doors. The inside ice maker is awesome too. And the overall features works great. The fridge is really the best. I love it. It has everything we need and works better than any fridge we have owned before. Lg is a really good company. LG takes their time to make the best products. I did see new LG ones out now that I would like more since I own a older one but thats it.
I purchased a $3000 LG fridge in April 2013 (less than 8 months ago). About a month ago, it started making a loud noise. I contacted Home Depot (where fridge was purchased) and they scheduled a tech to come look at it. He fixed it by defrosting a fan and setting the temp on my fridge higher. He warned to not have the fridge set too cold or the fan would keep freezing. Great, warm food. Less than a week later it broke down completely. We are now more than two weeks without a fridge. I have called every single day to try to get a tech out here and LG not only refuses to send someone out but cancels the techs scheduled by Home Depot. They have no time frame as to when they will allow someone to come out or when the fridge will be repaired. My five month old son has digestive issues and is on a special formula that has to be refrigerated. When I called LG to schedule repairs Bonnie from public relations told me I could ask my neighbor to store my son’s formula for me. Because I paid $3000 to use my neighbor’s fridge not to use my own fridge. The level of heartlessness LG and all their customer service reps show is beyond shameful and frankly Im shocked theyre still in business. Life is not good when Ive been storing my son’s formula in an ice chest for two weeks, feeding my other kids fast food every meal because we cant store any cold or frozen food at home, and LG has the attitude of we already have your money so now you can go F yourself. I will never ever buy an LG product again. I have filed a complaint with the BBB. No response yet from LG. Let me pretend to be surprised. At this point the fridge now stinks, is completely useless, and LG has no plans to repair or replace my fridge. Its under warranty and I had purchased the extra protection plan. Its completely unacceptable to allow a family to go without any fridge at all for two weeks and counting. Its unacceptable to know a special needs child could go hungry without his formula and NOT even send a tech out to look at it. Looks like I spent $3000 on a useless piece of crap.
DO NOT, DO NOT ever buy an LG washing machine as ours is two years old and I have to spin dry one towel at the time while the rest of the wet towels are in the sink waiting. LG executive, Tyree, told me they would send a service person which they never did, however. Lowes, where we bought the machine has given us an appointment with an LG technician. This machine was $650 and has never worked correctly and this is LGs second service in a year. When the warranty runs out in 3 years, I will get rid of this piece of junk and buy a cheap washer and hope to keep it like I did my last one that lasted 25 years. LG does not need to be in the business of washing machine and whoever designed them needs to be fired and they need to give all of us a replacement. Ill never buy anything by LG as our new $750 TV would stop working from time to time and my son in law took off the back and tightened all the leads and it works fine, now. Now, why would you sell a tv with loose leads? LG is a worthless company!!!
I called LG service department to warranty my dishwasher pump motor for loud grind, knock noise and found my warranty void due to me diagnosing my own dishwasher (my factory warranty will only cover the part not labor). I offered to send the motor to LG confirm default in pump and I offered to pay a LG service tech to diagnose and confirm the problem with the pump motor and let LG refund me for the service call after confirmation of default, but turned down for both. My only option would have been to pay labor for diagnosis and repair to receive my warranty part for a 6-year-old dishwasher, but does not matter now. My warranty is voided because I diagnosed the problem myself and cant afford to pay to do what I can. Will Never Buy LG Again.
Love everything about this fridge, except it is so deep I can’t reach back....I’m 5’6’’ and to back of inside is DEEP. Other than that I really like the adjustable shelves, ice maker completely concealed in door, ability to have crushed ice, that is really crushed, middle drawer being temperature adjustable, and the large freezer. Outside is smudge proof and easy to keep.
I pulled out my oven to clean behind and under it yesterday. I have been using my lower oven more lately and its melting my vinyl tiles! There is actually scorch marks on the floor too. Has anyone else has this happen to them?
Im not too happy with my LG refrigerator after looking into a lot of information and a lot of reviews. Apparently, theres been a lot of problems with their compressors. And it doesnt seem like LG is proactive about going and fixing them because I finally had a problem with my compressor this year. The unit wasnt getting cold at all and we had noticed periodically where it felt like it wasnt cooling enough. We just chalked it up in the air whether it was too hot of a day or too cold of a day, and maybe we didnt have that, we had the house too hot and left it at that. And then, all of a sudden, within three days, it just stopped working.Trying to get LG to come out and fix the issue was like pulling teeth. Apparently though, LG was aware of what the issue was. They didnt give me any problems as far as getting it fixed. But there was a lot of miscommunication internally at LG because they gave me one company that they were gonna have fix the situation, and when I finally contacted them because I hadnt heard from them, they said, We dont work with LG anymore, and I had to call LG and tell them what the company said. So, we were gonna use this other company. It was the same thing. LG gave me the information for that company and I called them immediately. They said some of the same thing. Then finally, the third company was the one that still worked with LG. And then, that had taken almost two weeks to get my refrigerator fixed. At this point, it seems to be running properly. It seems to be making a little bit of noise. So, Im gonna contact the repair people and ask them to come check it out because it makes humming noise that it didnt make before.I have mentioned it to other people and as good friends of mine, they just bought the same refrigerator, and they experienced a similar problem to what we had. And we were told initially, Oh, its probably its seal, it didnt close right. But that was the way our problem started. And six months later, all of a sudden, the refrigerator went bad. But its a known problem with LG. My friends now are keeping a close eye on it.
I bought this Sears Kenmore Elite French door fridge in late 2007 (Model 795.755.46401). Within a couple years (but out of warranty), lots of little things started to go bad. As others have mentioned, the plastic latches at the top of the doors broke, and then the latches for the tilt out vegetable drawer fronts broke, and then the slides on the drawers broke, and the hardware that supports the bottom shelf broke - etc. The whole interior is made of parts too flimsy to last for the useful life of a refrigerator. Then the front door water dispenser stopped working, and just recently the whole front display went out and the main compartment lost temperature control and started freezing everything. Im a handy guy (and an electronics engineer), so I ordered and replaced the main board and then the display board, as they were the obvious failure points. That didnt fix the problem, so I dug in deeper. It turns out that the wires inside the front left door that go up through the hinge have broken. I could deal with that if the failure was at an accessible point (at the hinge one would expect), but I eventually figured out that the wires have broken somewhere inside the door. The wires are apparently molded into the door and cannot be replaced, so I have a $2,000+ refrigerator crippled by a bad 10-cent piece of wire and an astonishingly stupid design that makes that wire part of a $400 door assembly.Like I said, I am a handy guy, so I routed a very thin and not too ugly replacement wire on the exterior of the door to replace the broken wire inside the door, and for now the fridge is back in business. Ill join the many posters in this blog who will steer clear of all LG appliances in the future.
On 10/2008, I purchased an LG LRE30453ST/01 ceramic glass top electric range from Home Depot. On 7/2009, my husband instructed my oldest son to turn on the stove in preparation of us being 5 minutes away. He placed a pot on the stove on the largest eye and set the stove for 3.5 with a little grease inside the pan. My son said that as soon as he did what was instructed and sat down on the couch when he noticed immediate smoke coming from the pot. He looked inside the pan and noticed a ring of fire inside the pan that began to escalate fairly quickly and evacuated himself and my youngest daughter out of the home for their protection. Within five minutes of giving him these instructions we received a call back from him stating that the kitchen was on fire. Fire department came but the fire self-extinguished itself before they were able to take action. The fire caused 8k worth of damage with us paying a 1K deductible. It damaged the cabinets above the stove, the microwave above the stone, and the stove itself which sustained the most damage. The pot was actually not destroyed, but the stove was. The insurance company had no clue how this escalated so quickly so therefore the pot had masked the true natural cause of the fire which was the stove itself. The stove was replaced with the exact same model stove in 2009 and in 4/2014, while I was cooking on the largest eye once again with a cast iron skillet, the bottom of the skillet began to smoke from underneath set with a temperature of 3.5. I noticed the extreme heat coming from the largest eye and attempted to turn it off with no response from the stove to reduce the heat even though the stove read H5 which means a warm status. The heat was so extreme that the other eyes started to read as H5 and they werent even on. The extreme heat from the largest eye also prompted the microwave vent to come on by itself. My kids and myself started to get nervous and tried to power down the stove by turning off the circuit breaker with no response so we had to unplug the stove from the wall. We waited about 5 minutes and attempted to replug the stove and the largest eye came on immediately, flashing red several times, sending out extreme heat so we decided to keep it unplugged. I called LG the next day to find out that a recall was issued in 2012 for my model number. I was completely taken back. The recall stated The burners on the electric ranges can fail to turn off after being switched off or the temperature setting can increase unexpectedly during use, posing burn and fire hazards to consumers. What else do you need? I asked why I was not notified and they said it was on TV and because I did not register the product, I didnt get notified by mail. Im a working professional mom of three, really! I cant believe they said that. They offered to repair the stove I currently have in my home and offered apologies for the fire in 2009. Is there no recourse or responsibility of the manufacturer for damages that occurred to homeowners before the recall. How can this be right. LG is claiming statute of limitations is 3 years but what about the fact that a recall was not issued until 2012. How was my insurance supposed to know that their product was defective when there was no recall in place. How is the consumer supposed to be protected in a case like this. Im not asking for the 8k that my insurance paid out but at least take responsibility for the deductible I had to pay for your fire hazardous product I placed in my home that nearly killed my kids. How can the statute of limitations be set for 3 years when the defect is not found until the recall is issued? PS: I have documentation of everything.
I purchased a fridge 12/19/16 from Home Depot with delivery for 1/5/16. Once fridge came in and they opened the box it had a dent which I had been told to not accept (Youd think they check them before leaving warehouse as it wasnt caused bringing it in). Called customer service and could not be compensated nor will they make arrangements to schedule a quicker delivery (as 1/17/16 was next available). It was also very frustrating as my husband had taken a day off to attend to this and not only did he wait for nothing I waited over 40 minutes to get an answer. Im not sure what kind of business LG runs but one thing I do know is that I will never purchase a product from them again. They must be out of their minds to think I will wait a month to receive a refrigerator to replace my broken one.
I purchased an LG dishwasher 6 years ago, in which time I have 4 service calls. This appliance was expensive and the repairs to date have included failure on the insulation (overheating), error messages causing the machine to stop, a leak, and most recently the machine smelled of burning electrical and has now completely shut down. I purchased extended warranties to cover the repairs, but the inconveniences Ive experienced and the nature of the failures of this product are not justifiable for a dishwasher in this price range and of its age.
Our compressor and coil failed on our 4 1/2 year old fridge. We bought the fridge from Lowes Canada with a 4 year extended warranty. About 2 years ago the fridge stopped working, all the food spoiled. We called the repair company and they fixed it. Just recently the fridge died. LG said they would send out a repair person in about a week! All the food spoiled. LG said the repair man would call us to schedule when he would be coming. The day before he was supposed to come, LG cancelled our appointment without telling us and said they need the repair man elsewhere and they would reschedule the appointment for TWO weeks later. Who does that to their customers? We called Lowes and freaked out. They sent over another repairman who said the compressor and coil were pooched. 3 weeks we waited for him to come back to fix it. In the mean time we purchased another fridge to put in the basement so we could get back to normality (not LG Brand). The fridge is fixed with new compressor and coil but the compressor will not stop running. LG and Lowes have both washed their hands and said there is nothing else they can do! I’ll I can hear in my house I’d the constant hum of the fridge all the time. I have never had such a bad experience with LG and Lowes Canada in my life. Too many apologies and no action. Talk is cheap! Stand behind what you build and stand behind what you sell. I am a small business owner and would never treat my customer that way. Brutal. Thinking about legal action to hold these companies accountable.
Why the heck would I spend over $1000 with the 5-year warranty that Home Depot sold me for a machine that only lasted 90 days before a major repair happened? Its not Home Depots fault but the stores have got to start calling out these companies who are selling inferior products and charging an arm and a leg for them. I now have a repair that took 3 days for a service tech to come out, only to tell me that it will be 5 days or more before the part is in and then they will call and schedule the repair. I understand how repairs might happen but strangely, I had a Maytag that did the same thing at the 90-day mark too! It went on to have 3 other major repairs such as leaking all over my floor and ruining the wood (was a slow leak I could not see because it was under the machine), control panel stopped working at 90 days, would not clean dishes and the final straw was another control panel replacement. All under 1 year. So I got HD to take it back and give me a new machine and guess what I picked out??? LG... big mistake. I did not buy a machine like this to have no working dishwasher after 90 days. I will never buy another LG product. I guess customer retention is not important to this company!
We went shopping and we liked the LG Refrigerator, and we purchased it a few years ago. I liked the way it was written up and the way it looked. The French doors are my favorite and I’m very happy with the quality of LG. If I had any issues, I called the LG service and the experience was 100% good. I am extremely satisfied with the refrigerator as well as the service. People should go and get them. It was a magnificent experience.
We believed LGs advertisements and trusted that they would stand behind their product. The expensive French Door Refrigerator/Freezer (LFCS31626S) has given us nothing but trouble. LG has sent repair technicians several times who have gone so far as to replace the control board (twice) and the compressor complete with solder smoke wafting through our air during a 2-4 hour repair job. Still, in spite of being set at 36 degrees F, the temperature cycles from 45 degrees F to an unsafe 60 degrees F. The last technician who worked on the thing told us that he did all he could, and, within a week, we had the same problem all over again (we called that technician for help but he no longer answered our calls). Meanwhile, weve lost tons of food and have to shuffle things into a standing freezer for salvage. This has been going on for about a year. Rather than do the right thing and replace the unit with a new, good one, LG now wants us to break COVID-19 isolation for yet another failed repair attempt. Most recently, we were handed over the Executive Team where a member picked-up and held the phone line open for over 2 hrs before hanging up without once responding to our repeated pleas that he/she speak. We are beyond frustrated. In fact, we are feeling betrayed. Please help!
Our refrigerator is less than 2 years old and the compressor went out. Our freezer MELTED and the compressor got so hot that it could have started a FIRE! We have been living out of an ICE CHEST for 7 days and we are getting the run-around by customer service and subcontractors. I understand that there was a CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT against LG for defective compressors. I wish I had researched a bit more before purchasing an LG product. I give up. We are buying a new fridge today. It will NOT be an LG EVER. I will never buy another LG product again. I am disgusted by how we have been treated by LG. Their business model for maximizing profit is to wait you out. Well you win LG.
I believed that LG is one of the best company in the Indian market so I bought LG Washing Machine but before complete 3 years, I got a serious problem with my LG Washing Machine and LG technical engineer said to replace PCB of the machine. He also said that I have to pay for this PCB and I have to pay approx amount is Rs. 4500/-. This is totally not acceptable by me. After all these I have a doubt that my LG Washing Machine is original or duplicate. Is your dealer sold duplicate or not? As per my knowledge washing machine does not have any major problem till 7 to 8 years. It is very serious matter for LG also that LG demands such amount. Can LG give revert for my below queries: -Is my decision to buy LG product is right? -Are you thinking that within such a short time PCB problem is acceptable? -Are you thinking that LG is still a good brand for Washing Machine ?I request you to repair my LG Washing Machine without any charges and prove that LG is best in after sale services. Hope your best support and quick action.
We bought this unit in OCT 2017 since then it has failed twice and cost 198.00 in diagnostics and 1000.00 on lost food! In May of 2020 in the middle of the pandemic food shortage it quit cooling for four days, then magically started working again then in JAN 2021 it stopped cooling again and today Im told that it has a gas leak and that has leak are common on these LG units and to avoid all LG and Samsung refrigerators. Not at all what I was expecting from a very expensive fridge from a top name brand company. Never again. The was not my first but will be my last LG product unless they do something for me. Ill be contacting them tomorrow.
Do not waste your money on anything LG. Bought a refrigerator. Within 7 months it stopped working. Sent a tech out. Fixed the problem. Now the refrigerator again is down, 4 years old, compressor went. Lost everything in the refrigerator because no error codes came up on it. Had the compressor, filter dryer and evap. Of course LG knows theres problems with their refrigerators, it been a known problem, but you still have to pay for labor. Well lo and behold. All that replaced and the piece of junk still not working. Will not take a charge. Tech company called LG to deem it unrepairable, now they want them to fix the capillary tubes and replace them. Since they want that repaired, I asked if they were paying for the labor? Of course not. Look into it before purchase. Many Lawsuits over the same issue. Even if the repair is successful 3 months down the road youre fixing it again. Almost a month still no refrigerator and $400 worth of food in the garbage. The customer service reps know its an issue and agree youll be fixing it again and again but their PCP department for the techs still insist on having repair after repair done. Please do research on their products before you purchase. LG stand for Luxurious Garbage. Now Im just bringing them to small claims court. Oh forget any repair place coming to change out the capillary tubing. NO ONE WILL EVEN TOUCH IT. Thanks LG for the Luxurious Garbage you sell, stick with TVs.
Updated on 06/21/2019: Terrible service, Read reviews please prior to buying, Parts are impossible to get once needed. I have 6 yr old fridge that cost $3500 and we havent been able to get parts since April 9th. First part took 4 weeks to get and it was defective. It was manufactured 2 weeks after we ordered it. Ordered another control board the first of May and they keep delaying ship date. Now saying June 27th. Every week they move it back.Original Review: We have been unable to get parts for our 6 yr old $3500 refrigerator. Ordered April 9th and still nothing, every few days they give us a different answer. WE have been told they use a different board for almost every fridge and dont keep them in stock?? Now saying May 7th. Who can go without a fridge that long? We have children and new fresh items.
I purchased washer/dryer combo from LG in February 2018. Upon delivery, I left plastic covering on to protect machine, as I have a habit of doing this. Two months later, I removed cover and noticed numerous scratches all over cover of dryer. Calls were made to Best Buy in Levittown, as well as LG directly, over a period of months. I was informed these are cosmetic issues and not covered under warranty. I just want to reiterate the machine was delivered in that condition and not because of my use of machine. As a result, I did not get a satisfactory solution to my problem. Please note I have never given a bad review on any matter. This time, LG deserves this review. This review goes out to Best Buy in Levittown, as well, as the manager I spoke with was very rude and no help at all. I hope this helps anyone looking to purchase appliances.
Im LG customer since an year. I bought LG refrigerator from nearby store. Due to electricity fluctuations problem occurred but what kind of issue is this? I dont know. It has been 10 days since Ive complained but no action taken still. Very very worst service by LG.
I purchased a $1350.00 LG refrigerator. 3 years later it broke. The repairman came to fix it, told us it needed a part and he would order it for overnight shipping. Well, he lied. It has been five days now and he just told me it would be another few days before the part comes in. They blamed it on FedEx. I have lost hundreds of dollars of food, but does LG care? NO. At one point the repairman hung up on me. NEVER NEVER buy any LG product. Their service departments is rude and unreliable. Very upset and disappointed with everything about this company. You have been warned!!!
I purchased a front loading LG washer dryer combo with pedestals (Model WM3670HWA) at Lowes with extended coverage in late 2016. Multiple issues. Mainly UE ERROR CODE most all the time. Its not overfilled or a small load. Continued get worse. There is NO SPIN ONLY OPTION so the washer will wash forever, hours trying to spin out. At times I will have to set it through 5 or 6 other cycles till maybe finally spin out. This is insane. Clothes seem dingy, washer dispenser not completely emptying. Some water from leak at one corner at times. You can wash one load for hours. Using water and electricity. Service coming again. Not sure if its barrings or computer board on the UE error, other issues unknown. Dont waste your money on LG. Had hard time with service. Any finding anyone knows anything.
Purchased LG #LFX5307265 on 11/9/2014. Came home today to the water in the door running. Water everywhere, luckily I knew how to turn the water off. Could not find a switch to turn it off on the refrigerator. Could not believe my eyes. Thankful I was not on vacation. I do not want it repaired, I want it gone. $3,200 lesson to never purchase LG. Because it is under warranty I have Sears coming out but I will move it to the garage.
This product looks great and operates efficiently and quietly. The LED lighting provides more than enough to see and find anything in the refrigerator. Changes the water filter and the air filter after being notified by the read outs on the door. Cleaned the coils in back as suggested by the brochure. If any other items that I need to do, let me know. Thanks, GM **.
I have three LG appliances and I have major problem with all.My microwave shelf makes contact with the oven wall because of too much play with shelf brackets and because the shelf should be smaller that what it is. It burned a line through to the metal and arced sparks. I wrote to the company service on the LG website but they did not reply. Today I called LG. The company representative said that it was no longer covered with warranty. I stressed that it was a safety issue and a design flaw. I switched to a supervisor who did not budge from that stand. I explained that it has been that way since day one but I had been very careful, that I always pull the shelf to the most forward position. Of course, as it should be safe for everyone. She said that she could have someone repair it at my expense. I said this was not acceptable. She then said I should buy microwave paint at the hardware store to fix the oven before using it again and not to operate it in the future with the shelf in, some solution! She also said the manual explains when to remove the shelf. I asked if it says never to use the shelf since that would be the only way to avoid the problem. She acknowledged that it did not. I reminded her of the light relay fire issue that they had with their refrigerators and that LG avoided the responsibility for that for about 4 years. Online reports made it clear that they only started to cover the repair recently on the 2005 models. I also made note of the problem with the leaking of the water through the seam between the two panels on the front of the dishwasher. She noted my problem but again, she said that it was off the warranty, but that she would send someone to my home to repair it at my expense. Again, this problem exists since day one. Someone needs to make these people responsible for their products. The refrigerator incident could have burnt my house down. Heaven knows what damage the toxic fumes from the microwave could cause.
In 2012, we upgraded our kitchen appliances to LG products. It has been an absolute nightmare! Every appliance has failed in some manner. The oven stopped working multiple times on our range. I couldnt believe that when I called customer service, we were told to turn off the circuit breaker for 5 seconds and then turn it back on. The code was F1. We noticed a hairline crack in the interior wall of the refrigerator near one of the shelves. The microwave door keeps lowering on us. And last week, the dishwasher just stopped working without warning. Rather than continue repairing things, we have decided to replace all of the appliances with another brand. Never will I ever recommend LG appliance products to anyone after our experience. And never will I purchase them. Love the electronics. But their appliance product is amongst the worst!
I bought my LG top loader in 2012 and was initially happy with my purchase. After about a year I noticed some rusting at the bleach dispenser but I just ignored it.Fast forward to 2017 and it has turned into a full blown big deal. It has rusted out, corroded, ready to crumble! I contacted LG and they were happy to send someone out to fix it for a flat rate of $245, to put another defective top on it that I would have to replace in a couple of years, whether I use bleach or not, because this has nothing, absolutely nothing to do with bleach! Upon doing a little online research I learned that I am not the only one having this issue, there are dozens, perhaps hundreds with the exact same problem! Yet LG swears that WE are spilling bleach and they are not liable for any repairs! But many washing machines before have had bleach spilled and did not rust like these do, so it must be a defect that LG will not fess up to. I am mad! That they are getting away with this and ripping people off!
Brand new LG fridge. My fridge broke May 7! (6 months). Today is June 17th and I still haven’t got a new unit. This fridge has cost me more in food going bad than the cost of the fridge. I have 2 babies and two elderly people in their late 70’s that live with me. Shame on LG for not caring.
