Product Reviews:

We have had to replace our LG French door refrigerator for the third time.
We have had to replace our LG French door refrigerator for the third time. We had experienced failures of the water line, ice maker, fridge gaskets (now redesigned) and freezer gaskets. LG refused to honor their warranty. They stated that with replacements, only the original warranty counts. Fortunately, Best Buy did honor their extended warranty, but each time it took a full day off of work to wait for the delivery to unload the bad refrigerator/freezer, get the new one in and the old one out, and reload whatever food had not spoiled. LG denied my poor review of their product, and the CEO has not replied to the certified letter he received over a month ago. LG simply doesnt care. Every Consumer Complaint website has multiple entries noting problems with LG.

Purchased my LG gas range in April 2014, six months later I noticed the knobs were melting. I called LG, they offered knob replacement. I wanted to know why this was happening, then they said they would replace the gasket. The technician came out and did replace the knobs and gasket. At the time I asked what happens if this happens again? Sure enough, six months later, melting knobs, LG offered the same solution. I argued this should not be happening, concerned heat was escaping, did not want the same repair. The second technician agreed I needed a new oven and called LG while he was here. They refused to give him a return authorization number. The technician said there was a recall and I should be persistent. Well after 4 calls to LG, they have refused my claim, was very rude and dismissive... This company needs to be taught how to treat people... We need a class action lawsuit!

Purchased This $2600.00 LG LFXS30766S Refrigerator from Home Depot. Right side door will not seal properly. Thank God I purchased the extended warranty (So I Thought). Had a technician out and his answer was this is normal with LG. Called LG direct (that was a joke, they read a script off to me). They had me jump on one leg and rub my head and basically ask me if that fixed the problem. I was advised to call Home Depot again which advised me to call customer service again. Im done with both of them. Im selling this piece of junk and buy a $800.00 basic refrigerator like I had.

I purchased double stacked LG washer/dryer in January 2010. In February 2012, the washer motor broke and LG placed it. In December 2012, the motor broke again! I called LG and they said I would have to pay for a technician to look at the washer. Ive had this washer for 2 years and the motor broke down two times. I have to pay to get the washer fixed! My previous Westinghouse washer-dryer I had for over 15 years and not one service call, not one problem in all 15 years. Im so mad at LG and Im insisting that they replace the washer. Not sure if you can offer any advice, but I really want to get a lawyer and go after LG. Thanks for your time.

Love my LG washer and dryer. The steam function on both has been a great way of taking care of wrinkles and freshness. The quick wash function is exactly that - super quick. I am pleased with how well it cleans all types of fabrics. My only criticism would be the sensor function on the dryer. It is the same complaint I have regarding all sensor type dryers though - they really don’t do a great job and you often come down to find the dryer off and the clothing still damp. The time dry function and personalized functions are very good though.

Wow cant believe Im finding so many people with issues with their LG fridge. Ours is 3 years old and has been making loud noises for a while, had a couple service calls, defrosted a couple times, helps for about a month. Most recently - the WATER STARTED SPEWING FROM THE DISPENSER FULL FORCE ALL ON ITS OWN!! Thank God I was home because in just a few minutes our wood floors were covered with over an inch of water. I opened the door to stop it and then turned off the water supply.Repairman came, heres our list of parts needed to repair: Rear panel fridge (cracked), $267.14. BiMetal freezer part (frosting), $48.65. Control board for updated freezer panel, $329.02. Freezer cover (control panel), $183.38. New dispenser, $280.36+labor. No support from LG on this, which is a shame because they obviously know there are issues with this fridge. Its going to the dump and we will be replacing with a non-LG product. We own a new LG washer/dryer and dishwasher, but this is definitely our last LG product based on this experience. Btw, our 23 year old Kenmore is still going strong in our garage! Will be searching for class action suits and ready to join as soon as I find one! LG lfxs32726S.

Purchased $3,000+ LG counter depth Stainless refrigerator late November 2013. In less than six months we have lost the contents of the freezer twice. I asked the retailer that we purchased from, ABT, to replace this obviously defective unit. They say that failure must occur three times in a year before they will consider replacement. I will never buy another LG appliance again.

10 year motor warranty is useless to me/read the fine print. I have an expensive top load direct drive LG washer that was 3 years old when the machine broke. I called LG and they gave me the name of a company to do a diagnostic. That company came out and determined that the motor shaft was broken. The tech estimated that it would cost close to $900 to fix. (Could buy a new washer for that) Thinking that being absurd, I called LG back and they told me that the part was covered but not the labor. The labor is covered for only a YEAR.They further told me that the guy that they recommended price was way too high. They gave me another number and I called that number only to find out that the company will only service items underparts and labor! Heres the ridiculous part. I cant find anyone willing to do a service call when just the part is under warranty. So after 3 years with an expensive washer it is looking like my only choice is to buy a new washer. LG has been of zero help. I will NEVER buy another LG washer again. It is a total joke dealing with their unknowledgeable customer service.

We had purchased a LG washing machine from Best Buy less than a year ago and have had constant problems with it since. Soon after we installed it in our new house we had it leak water throughout the night from the front of the washing machine. After contacting LG about it they did a test on it (over the phone, as it was a smart washing) and said it was OK to use. Against the better judgement of my wife she went ahead and used it and the same thing happened again, but this time worse. The water created about $8600.00 in damages, had floor damage, water in the vents that collapsed the AC vent under the house, and mold starting to appear on our walls. Fortunately we had our own house insurance which covered out expense, and we had to pay a small $250.00 deductible. After explaining the situation to LG, they asked us to send them a damage report and all the information which we did, they refused to replace the washing machine and instead sent a technician out to fix it, who came out four separate times to fix it. He said that there was a fault with the machine and we were afraid that it would happen again. LG also told us that because the washing machine was a display model that we purchased it was not under warranty. When I called through customer service to ask them if I purchased a display model from Best Buy would it be covered by warranty, they said yes (a direct contradiction to what was told.) I asked them for a transcript to verify that which they sent. After 4 attempts to fix the problem they still wouldnt change the machine or give us our money back, and we ended up having to pay out of our pocket for the technician to come out. To this day we still have a faulty washing machine. After calling them several times to try and get my deductible back from LGs own insurance company they kept telling me that they would call me in two days, and never did. This happened three separate occasions and it has been about 6 months since the accident happened, and they have been in possession of all the documentation for around 3-4 months and have done nothing about it. We are very disappointed in their service and do not expect them to do anything about our situation. This is the first time Ive complained online to any company, but I feel that other consumers need to know.

Thousands of dollars in damage! We purchased LG model lfx25971sb with french doors and an external ice delivery system. The initial problems, within a week of delivery, were with the ice maker that was constantly messing up, leaking, not working. The list of problems with the ice dispenser are numerous. The next issue came in about 11 months when I noticed that the cabinet next to the unit was showing cracks in the finish. These are maple. Perplexed, I pulled the unit out and found that a small pin-hole had burst on the water line leading up to the dreaded ice maker. The hardwood floor underneath was stained and buckling so the leak had been there for awhile. With both of these service issues, I got horrible customer service from LG. With regard to the water line needing repair, my cost. Then on Sunday, while walking across my kitchen floor, I nearly tripped over the buckled wood floor at least 5 feet from the unit. Now, it was gushing water from underneath! The service guy that showed up today said a valve blew out and that it is not covered by the warranty. This wreck of a machine has ruined my kitchen floor and the poor excuse for a company will not do a thing about it. Repair bill around $180; floor and cabinet repair, thousands. I also purchased a washer/dryer set. It took four months to get the washer working. This time they finally owned up to the problem and replaced a part but four months before, it never worked.

MY EXPERIENCE HAD BEEN HORRIBLE! HERES WHAT HAS HAPPENED. Called hhgregg where I purchased refrigerator in March 2016. Leak started August 2016. The phone menu automatically routed my call to LG Customer Service. They said they dont repair damage to home but will repair refrigerator. They made an appointment to send an LG technician in two days. I had to call a water damage company in the meantime because water had leaked through the wall into a hallway and a bedroom. Water was under tiles and was squishing in the carpet. The LG technician finally came. The refrigerator was moved from its niche in kitchen. The technician discovered the problem. He said it was a defective valve in the ice maker. He said theyre (LG) going to hate this but its on us (LG). Called customer service again. Customer service representative, finally agreed to give us a claim number and gave us a number for Product Liability. I kept calling that number but no one ever answered and no one returned my calls. I finally got another number from customer service rep. Bottom line is the estimate to repair and restore is around $6225. They said they will pay $4224. I cannot get my home repaired for that amount. My refrigerator is still sitting in the middle of the breakfast area and the ice maker cannot be hooked until the repairs are made to my house. The defective refrigerator caused all the damage and LG should pay the full cost of the restoration. The Product Liability department has been very disrespectful and rude to me, a customer who purchased one of their products. Does anyone know who I should call at LG to resolve this issue.

I was so happy to get a new washer and dryer after about 10 years with my old set. I purchased the LG large capacity set. The washer was a front load. At first things went well, then little by little I began to notice our clothes came out smelling unclean. Regardless of the detergent, softener, etc, it made no difference. The energy saving, low level of water, simply means your clothes will slosh around in a small amount of dirty water, and then rinse with a small amount of water. There is nothing clean about that! When we sold our home I let the set go with the house, vowing to never purchase a front load HE washer again. The dryer was great.

I have only had my LG refrigerator for 5 years and now my freezer has gone out and every repair person says it is the compressor as this is a very common thing with these fridges. Is this not a recalled product? Are you not standing by your product and its parts and are ok with this being a standard? Very disappointed in the fact that your company is not standing by its product and replacing these parts that are consistently failing after only a few years and still not fixed! You are still selling subpar refrigerators! This should be reported to the better business bureau and the Attorney general! Shame on LG!!!! Not only do I have to spend money for a new fridge but replace all the food that will now go bad in my freezer! I would rather give ZERO STARS but it will not let me submit!!!

We purchased an LG LDF8072ST PREMIUM dishwasher from Best Buy on Dec. 12, 2012. Since it has been installed, the performance of this product has been terrible. The drying cycle is terrible and when I contacted LG, I was informed that this was the way it was supposed to work because it is a new advanced HYBRID drying system?? Even when we put it on extra dry, it still did not dry the dishes. With the performance still terrible, 4 weeks ago, the dishwasher quit working completely. When I contacted the LG online chat service feature, it was a joke. I spent more time verifying that I had bought a dishwasher than anything else. He finally determined that my dishwasher was Shot and he ordered a technician to come out. 10 tens later, a technician from a local repair facility came out, and he verified my dishwasher was not working??? He brought no replacement parts, but verified the unit had crapped out.Two weeks later, he returned with a main board and got the dishwasher running. He tested a few cycles and declared it ready to go. I was out of town and my wife was leaving that afternoon, so she loaded up the dishwasher and started it before she left. When I got home three days later and opened the dishwasher, the dishes were still wet????? This is the first dishwasher that I have owned that drying dishes as part of the cycle is part of the dishwasher!I have gone on LGs website and written to them and have not heard back! For what they charge for their products, I would expect a better support/service system in place. Dealing with LG is as bad as dealing with Sears in the past. If this is not resolved, I will do my research and make sure my replacement dishwasher dries dishes and is not an LG.

The large LG refrigerator is simply terrific! It has 2 freezer drawers on the bottom and a really large refrigerator section with a giant pizza-width meat drawer. We chose the stainless steel finish and, admittedly, it is hard to clean but looks so nice when you polish it. The top double doors have just the right storage on the inside. The 3 fruit/veg. containers are nice and big. In the freezer I have unplugged the ice maker, because it took up too much room and simply leave an ice tray across one side of the top section divider. It allows for sections of food to be stored without being in a jumble. It is a very large and tall fridge and I didnt mind doing without the cupboard section that usually is hung above. I found 3 woven baskets that simply sit on top and look very nice there.

We purchased the LG French door, bottom freezer about 5 years ago. We spent the extra money because we thought that LG was one of the best at the time. This model has only the water-in-the-door; icemaker in bottom drawer. The salesperson showed us why THIS bottom drawer was better than others with the same idea: the gear-type rollers were more substantial and the slides were larger. The rationale was that it would be more durable. In the past year, the freezer drawer is becoming harder and harder to pull out and/or push in. I have taken the bin out and found grease/graphite on the bottom of the unit and along the left rail. Water from the icemaker also tends to build up as it sometimes drips onto the left rail, making the rolling very difficult. After wiping it out, it seems to be fine for a few hours...then its hard again. We have had it with LG appliances. We had an LG dishwasher that nobody would work on. The LG washer/dryer that we have, are doing OK for now, but the bellows in the bottom of the washer where the water is pumped has cracked twice in 5 years, allowing water to run get on the floor. I should have had a pan put under the washer, but this indicates either bad engineering or bad design.

My dishwasher stopped working a few years ago. The dishwasher was only one year old. I had it repaired and I have never had a problem since then. I also learned to clean and maintain it myself. To have a happy dishwasher and a happy dishwasher owner, try to clean your dishwasher after each use. By the way, I only used hot water and degreaser in cleaning this and now it washes better than it ever has.

Purchased French door refrigerator model #LFC20745ST in April 2010. After two years the plastic latch at the top of the door broke off. After contacting my repairman he advised me he could not repair the latch as he was barred from buying replacement parts. All attempts to have the matter resolved ended in a dead end with their customer service department. After several inquiries I was made aware that I could purchase the part from their certified parts distributor. I purchased the part and my repairman was able to install it. Unfortunately it is now 2 years later and the same part has broken. Apparently their products are not designed for long term use. Their initial stands for LG - this must mean LOUSY GOODS. I would not recommend their products to anyone and I will never purchase their products.

Its just over 3 years old but our LG front loader will not rotate and makes grinding noises. LG said that they would extend labor to cover this as it is a motor problem (motor has a ten year warranty). We waited for 5 days, called LG back and the supervisor told us that there is no extension on labor. Repair company will not come out unless they are given a code by LG. The LG supervisor gave us a code. We called the repair company with code and were told that LG has to give them the code. Repair service told us that service call and hourly cost will be at a minimum of $500.00! LG LFX31925SW Refrigerator - We purchased the 31 Cu FT French Door LG refrigerator a year and a half ago. It is a wonderful refrigerator as far as capacity and how it functions on the inside. Not the most streamlined looking from the outside. And it hums all the time, not sure what part is doing that enough to wake me up at night. I recently pulled out the gliding drawer and to my dismay, the back wall of the refrigerator is cracked. Who would have thought the inside wall of the refrigerator would be compromised and cracked. Calling LG service center was a waste of time. Not only did they only quote the one year parts and labor (not sure on what) and the 7 yrs sealed system (whatever that covers?) and 10 years on the compressor (seems to hum every night). They read a script and have no other answers, always seems to be someone you cannot understand what they are saying and they can hardly speak English. When I mentioned I believed it was delivered in that condition, they said NO it was empty when delivered to imply I lied. Well no, the delivery folks set it up. I had to do nothing. So the repair company tells me to tape it, there is no way to repair it and no warranty. Really, no warranty on the structure of the unit. I call it cheap and wont buy another LG product ever. I feel blessed after reading the nightmares of other customers and with all their problems with defective parts and getting no results. My question is what has happened to products in America. There is no quality left.

On Sat. Oct 18, 2014, my brother went into the LG fridge to get something, when he called out to get my attention. I thought it was smoke from oven. All attempt to locate fire in the oven was lean. I opened the kitchen window to air out the smoke. A few minutes later, my son goes to the same fridge in search of something and calls out with a more assured voice, dad I think the smoke is coming from the refrigerator. Upon getting back to the fridge, I opened the fridge part. It was smoke filled. The light was out. Toward the bottom of the fridge, I discovered that the egg carton on top of the cold buckets was on fire. It was still burning. The 18 count egg carton was totally top obliterated, plus a hole ate to the bottom. Bad deal.We recorded the whole experience and took a few pictures. I called LG and spoke to a rep who seemed to be empathetic. LG decided they would have a technician contact me, but non was available for the next two weeks. The rep told us that she would call me the next day after getting to work, at about 08:30, with a possible contact. She didnt. When my wife called them, she got nothing but the run around. Two days later, I spoke with a rep who was not getting to the bottom of the issue. Then I requested to talk to a manager. The manager patched the issue over to the Executive team, who made the decision after seeing the videos and pictures, that the fire was no fault of theirs. LG never sent a technician to look at my LG refrigerator. LG said people call and complain for different reasons. Thats subject to anyones interpretation. The long and short of the story is that cold refrigerators should never burn inside. It should smother out fire, not attract it.

I had purchased a LG refrigerator about 5 years ago. Needless to say, my 15 year old mini fridge is one-upping this terrible product. I have been trying to have SOMEONE repair it, however, there is no appliance store that is certified to fix it. Clearly this speaks volumes. I have had nothing but terrible service from LG, who expressed no concern for this ongoing inconvenience (understatement). I am just about at the two month mark of having a non-functional refrigerator. The fan was replaced although that still didnt fix the problem. This is a dream come true. Both the air filters and water filters are easy to replace. It has several drawers both in the refrigerator part and the freezer part. It is easy to remove refrigerator drawers to clean. The shelves are adjustable. The shelving inside the door has doors on both the inside and outside. I had the identical problem to someone else on here. We bought the LG French Door Refrigerator from Home Depot and the little hinge on the top of the door broke off and the door was constantly staying open. We just lived with it because we had previously had a problem with a new LG washing machine and nobody in the area would service it! I was told by a serviceman that LG didnt pay them for warranty work and although I dont know if that is true or not. I do know that I couldnt find a serviceman to fix the washing machine, which we eventually disposed of, even though it was less than a year old. Anyway, we moved from that house and happily left the beautiful LG refrigerator with the broken door hinge and lo and behold, the new house that we bought, had the same refrigerator and shortly after moving, the hinge on one door broke on that one too. LG definitely seems to have a quality problem with their appliances and I wouldnt buy one again.

It has a 10 year warranty. They say I need to call an LG technician. I didn’t buy the extended warranty because it was too expensive. So, I need to pay the labor. So it not worth it. We have just started in the process of dealing with the design flaw for the LFX31925ST/00. There are 3 defined steps of symptoms: (1) a loud noise coming from the lower back of fridge; (2) icing up of the back panel; (3) RF 1 error. Apparently, this is a due to a design flaw and new panel has been redesigned to fix the problem. Also, not all consumers and including us got the memo of the problem, we are dealing with it now. We have American Home Shield who sent out a repairman today. So we will wait now until tomorrow to find out what will get fixed.A minor irritant, the front plane where the lever for water is located, the lever just falls out now. The directions on the ice maker and water dispenser were silk-screened on this model. We see the new models are etched (much better). The panel had a plastic covering that has come off. This is like buying a very expensive car with wood paneling and then the wood paneling begins to flap around while you are driving. Cosmetically poor. Meanwhile, these products get good ratings from Consumer Reports. We are subscribers and did our home work. Apparently, CR did not. In the picture, you will note the panel is discolored with black at the bottom. The water dispensing lever falls out. The good news, the panel apparently can be bought for 105 dollars: **.

Bought a LTC22350 fridge 3/26/12 for my elderly parents, $1,000. It has never kept the bottom cold (milk goes bad in three days) and frost up in the freezer. I read their instructions and removed about half the food in the freezer to allow room around the vents. Still have the same problem. Contacted them and of course it is not their fault because it is past a year. LG was successful in making a one year fridge.

First, one shelf, then another. The plastic cracks and then disintegrates. If I could rate this with a negative star, I would. Ive owned several refrigerators and in fact, we have an old fridge in the basement which is over 10 years old and it works well. It just didnt fit in the place upstairs. Nothing is broken on that older fridge. But THIS LG fridge, is in terrible shape. I just took out some shelves to clean and my middle shelf with the glass panel and meat keeper, disintegrated in my hand. Its in pieces. Im not rough on my fridges and I have never had this happen before. AVOID LG products will be my appliance mantra going forward.

Updated on 09/03/2019: Please read and adhere to my review. I have had a technician out now 4 times. They finally decided to replace the compressor. When they did and left, they installed a faulty compressor that made my fridge actually heat up to 85 degrees. I called them and they came out last Friday and said yes, second compressor was bad. So I called today to ask where we go now, their response...We need to send out a technician to verify that the compressor is bad. I said, You came last Friday. LG said, Well he didn’t call us to report it so we need to send him out again and call us when he’s in front of the fridge. Mind you it’s been the same tech all 4 times and they want me to schedule him again, which takes 10 days wait every time. Please read the reviews and see how bad they are. I’m disgusted with this company.Updated on 08/29/2019: I am now one month without a fridge. Took them 5 calls and 2 weeks to get back. They finally sent a tech who vacuumed out my fridge and left. I called 5 more times and finally got them to come back 2 weeks later to put in a new compressor. Fridge is now screaming loud and has gone up 10 degrees. They want to send a technician a third time and I hung up. The tech said he has replaced 74 lg compressors....that’s from the technician. If you call their number it says, “Are you having a cooling problem….” Stay far away from this brand. We are a large family and living out of coolers in August with no answer in sight.Original Review: I bought a LG fridge 2 years ago. My refrigerator quit cooling so I called customer service. They told me they extended the warranty to five years and I would receive a call within 3-5 business days. I never received a call within the time frame. I called twice during that time to check and and I always got the same response that it would be escalated. On the sixth day they told me it was scheduled out two weeks. I explained that we are a family of five and that’s crazy. Then I received a text confirmation telling me that it was actually 3 weeks out before someone would come out, but they would escalate and nothing else they could do. Runaway from LG fridges. It’s the middle of summer and we had to throw everything away and living out of a cooler. They could care less.... Customer service is worse than the actual refrigerator.... You’ve now been warned. They are aware of the issue due to when you call the automated message says is your LG fridge not cooling? Junk!!

Bought our LG for $1,700 in Nov. 2005 from Carls Appliances, Fairfield, NJ. It broke piece by plastic piece the first 6 mos of use. Clip broke that keeps left door shut. Drawers snapped off. Freezer leaks uncontrollably forming 1/2 inch thick slab of ice on bottom of freezer. Light inside on top of fridge so hot it warped entire light casing & recently burnt a hole in the plastic cap on an almond milk container kept on the top shelf! - (the light is being repaired by LG in 2 days because they lost a class action suit for knowledgeably selling defective refrigerators that could cause fire.) a recall that we (as a registered purchaser) were not notified about by LG.

Another LG appliance failure just over three years after purchase. Over the past year, I went back and forth with LG trying to get someone to repair my oven that was less than three years old and no longer working. After many phone calls, emails, email to company president with no response, I finally resorted to writing a scathing review on Consumer Affairs. My oven ultimately got repaired free of charge and I was happy.I purchased a LG LFXC24726S refrigerator on 3/6/2018 along with a full set of appliances. Up to this point, I have been happy with my purchase. I found out this morning that my compressor has failed. I reached out to LG via chat and explained my situation and asked what my options are for getting it fixed, assuming that the company would make it right for a loyal customer. And a loyal customer I am with over $10,000 of LG products in the home between appliances and electronics. I was told that the part has a ten year warranty and I would have to cover any labor costs. I am frustrated as I was appeased when this happened last time when the company provided the labor and part free of charge, as they should given the expense of the appliances and subsequent failure within 3 years. I was told that this is the company policy and they cannot cover labor expenses.I strongly believe that anybody with good business acumen takes care of their loyal customers because word of mouth can make or break a company. I am again, very disappointed that LG is not stepping up to the plate to take care of someone who has shown loyalty to the company over many years. I will give them another chance to make this right or else my business will be taken elsewhere in the future to a company who values their consistent customers.

Wish that I had found this site prior to buying their top loading washer. Bought from Home Depot 4 months ago. Left one day with washer running, when we returned it had stopped with error code, washer had not drained. Looked at error code which said that hose was possibly crimped. Pulled washer away from wall and insured that they was nothing wrong. Called LG and girl had me do the over the phone diagnostics. Bottom line, she said that it needed service and they would schedule in 3-5 business days.Only call we received from them was a company name & phone # left on answering machine, with no further information. Sent a email asking what the hell is this, you are supposed to be scheduling the service, not me. Couple of days later this service company called and left messages on the answering machine, wanted us to call them to schedule a service appointment. I called on Friday afternoon, and they would have a service tech our way on Wed. I inquired what if it needs parts will they be able to repair by Fri. reply: no way as they would have to order parts. I inquired if they provide service after 4:30 pm or on weekends as we were both returning to work next week. She says no; in other words they wanted us to take time off from work to repair a product under warranty. I told her to forget it I would recall LG, which I did and explained to the girl that they needed to find a service company that can accommodate our work scheduled, she said that she would call back for scheduled service in 3-5 business days. Last we have heard from them and Home Depot says we just sold you the washer you, LG delivered it and any issues you have you have to take up with LG. WRONG answer, Bottom line you have three choices: 1) Insure that we receive repair on the existing washer , 2) Come get the washer as you havent been completely paid for it yet and refund what you have been paid, 3) give us a new replacement or once again you dont get the balance. All 3 scenarios is that it is still under warranty and you were paid the money not LG. As it stands, intend to file official complaint with Consumer Protection Agency, Federal Trade Commission & Attorney Generals office if for nothing else other than formal matter of record.

We purchased the refrigerator the first of the year, 2015. After four years it stopped working. We called the company for them to schedule a repairman to come out. When we didnt hear back within a couple of days we called back. They told us that the serviceman was too far out and wouldnt come. They had not told us nor scheduled for someone else to come out. So after speaking with him again he scheduled for another serviceman to come out. Over the next few weeks and numerous servicemen it went something like this: 1. Sorry, I dont have the expertise to work on these. 2. I dont work on any with the Freon problems. 3. I wont work on them because we have a dispute with LG.4. Too far for me to travel to your city from here.LGs reputation precedes them. One repairman asked me if I knew what LG stood for. He saw my puzzled look and replied Lost Groceries. After two or three weeks we finally get a repairman that can work on our refrigerator. But oops, the company sent the wrong compressor to our home for him. More wait to get another one and schedule another date. This was February of this year, 2019. We lost everything in the frig and they would not reimburse us because we didnt have the sales receipt. They knew by their records where we purchased it from, the date, the date of registration and we sent them the bill of lading from the store. It was not good enough. I tried to come to terms with all of it and just be happy it was working again.Forward a few months to July 3, 2019 and our refrigerator is once again not working. We will lose all the food that was just purchased. They scheduled for a serviceman to come out but we dont know if it is one they called before that cant/wont work on it or not until they come. I fear it is going to be another two to three week ordeal again. And I dont know how long the fix will last. I just want to unload this refrigerator and get something of quality that I know will work. I loved the look of the frig and thought it would be a dream to have but instead it is a nightmare. I would never again purchase an LG product. I wish I had read reviews before purchasing it. I hope this review will help someone considering this same purchase.

My three year old washer is being consumed with rust. We are not careless and try hard to never splatter the chlorine. At the rate of corrosion there is no way the frame can last long enough to cover the 10 year warranty. Thinking this was surely a defect considering the $899 price tag, I called LG Customer Service. They are not located in the U.S.A. They then told me there is no warranty on the washer housing and began schooling me on being careful when adding the Clorox because it is very corrosive. Really? One would think the LG engineers would realize that when designing the washer. Now we have mechanical issues and are in need of other repairs. NOTE. LG is not American made. Definitely not worth the money and I do not recommend buying one.

The top loading LG Smart Drive was purchased when we moved to a new home. We have had nothing but problems ever since. It becomes unbalanced frequently. When it becomes unbalanced, it adds more water in an attempt to swish the clothes to regain balance. Waste!!! This washer is unbalanced more than it is in balance. Sometimes it takes 2 days to wash a load of clothes. Ridiculous. In addition, I am never able to wash a small load - EVER. A small load in this machine is like a free ticket straight to unbalanced status. On top of this fun, my clothes are frequently knotted and twisted so badly that I have to untangle and untie my clothes prior to putting them in the dryer. I WILL NEVER BUY FROM LG AGAIN! EVER!!!

We purchased out LG four-door three years ago from Home Depot. We purchased
We purchased out LG four-door three years ago from Home Depot. We purchased the 5-year HD Protection Plan (issued through a company called Asurion). The compressor began failing last November, and since January, we’ve had repairmen in our home four times and are scheduled for a fifth visit next week. The first company they sent out spent over a week replacing the compressor, only to have it fail within a couple of days. When they returned a few days later, they spent an entire day repairing the issue, and claimed it was the most difficult repair they’ve had to attempt. We were without a functioning fridge for three weeks while we waited for appointments and replacement parts. The fix lasted a short time before failing again and this time it’s been a comedy of errors getting anyone to even look at it. LG tells us to call Home Depot/Asurion, HD/Asurion says its LG’s problem. LG sends a repairman from Sears who says it can’t be repaired and he’ll let LG know, a week later HD calls to see if we’re happy with the resolution. I explain there’s been no resolution, and am promised a phone call from LG within 48 hours. ... Four days go by, we can’t get ahold of anyone. We have to threaten legal action to get a return call, which essentially puts the onus on LG. Asurion explains that LG has taken over the process that our protection plan normally handled and basically they can only ask us if our issue was resolved. At this point we’re offered a loaner fridge, but none is unavailable, so we’re sent a $100 gift card toward the purchase of a mini fridge. I’m desperate for any kind of refrigeration in my kitchen, so we go to Home Depot, only to discover they don’t sell any mini fridge for less than $120. I am beyond frustrated at this point. I shouldn’t have to spend any more money. We’ve lost hundreds of dollars in food, hours of time on prepared meals, etc.) After the first failure, I’ve been afraid to put our bulk meat in the freezer, rightly so, because I’m afraid the fridge will fail again. So Last week we had a fourth visit from a repair tech, who said our fridge can’t be repaired, and because we’ve been told by LG that the repair tech must call them directly, we asked him to make the call in our presence. He spent 30 minutes on hold before being disconnected, and my husband spent 90 minutes on hold before he gave up. LG repeatedly claims they aren’t getting any information from Asurion or their repairmen. Our claim rep from Asurion returned my call the following day and conferenced in a rep from LG, who basically said he couldn’t help me before transferring me to someone from ‘executive services’ who reviewed my case, said she was sorry, and scheduled another repair visit. She described the convoluted process that needs to occur before they’ll replace my fridge, but wouldn’t give me any of the phone numbers that Sears needs to call, and Sears has no idea what we’re talking about when we tell them they need to call LG (although so far they’ve been willing to accommodate us). We’ll see what happens on Monday when repairman #5 shows up. Every repair guy we’ve spoken to says all they do all day is go around and evaluate failed LG compressors. We finally broke down and purchased a new refrigerator in the meantime, and the sales associate also said he always discourages people from purchasing LGs because everyone he’s sold in the last 4 years has failed and LG is terrible about replacing them. So, to sum up, LG sells garbage, doesn’t care, and won’t help when they can’t be repaired. And so far, the Home Depot protection plan hasn’t done much to protect my purchase. This has been a nightmare and if I could afford to write off the thousands of dollars I’ve spent on a trash fridge and wasted food, I would do it, because LG is killing my sanity.

LG Washing Machine Front Loading WM235OH*C - mold in unit: As the other 89
LG Washing Machine Front Loading WM235OH*C - mold in unit: As the other 899 complaints, I purchased my Washer and Dryer Set 5/9/2011. From day one, the detergent dispenser had standing water and the tub would get a foul odor. I read the owner’s manual and it stated that both were common. The foul odor could be removed with a HE washing machine cleaner and it should be used monthly. It is also recommended to leave the door ajar. I also called customer service and they confirmed that both were normal. I started noticing mold spots on the detergent dispenser tray and would clean it and run an extra load of bleach through the machine. My clothes were not cleaning properly and the smell never went away. On 12.13.12, I noticed more mold spots so this time I had my husband completely take the top off the machine and remove the dispenser tray. The tray and plastic gasket that allows the detergent to flow into the machine were covered in solid black mold. I called LG immediately and offered to forward pictures. The rep I spoke to, was very empathic and stated that LG will back their product and either replace or refund the machine. She also promised that someone from the Executive Team would call me the next morning to handle this issue quickly for me. No one called me. At 3:00 pm, I finally called them back and this time my phone conversation was very different - no one was going to do anything. They could send out a repair tech but that would cost me and most likely find nothing wrong since standing water and odor is normal. They stated the mold came from not using HE detergent and not cleaning the machine. I told her, “I am not stupid, of course I followed the owner’s manual not to mention all the stickers on the machine that say only use HE detergent.” The commercials on TV indicate to only use HE detergent for HE machines and to avoid the smell from the tub, use the HE cleanser monthly. Duh. Really. If I was that stupid, I wouldn’t be calling anyone. I told them I would be more than happy to forward the pictures of the mold and articles on the health risks that black mold offers. She stated that LG would not replace, refund, or promise repair on the machine. I agree with all the other 899 people. Do not buy LG. Do not throw away money and very important - do not place your health at risk

Our fridge is 4 years old and the sealed system compressor failed. The unit had a 7 year warranty and it turned out that LG now covered labor as well because of the frequent failures. The customer service at LG barely speak English and are clueless. After bouncing us to and fro with Lowes (who sold us a warranty with the fridge) it turned out their recommended service did not have any support staff in Arizona. We have been without the refrigerator for over 2 weeks right through Thanksgiving. It took us hours on the phone to get anywhere but finally we have a repair company but LG even let them down by being late delivering the parts - from Phoenix to Tucson!!! I purchased an LG Dishwasher model number LDF7811WW for $610.00. From day 1, the thing never really cleaned our dishes (we also rinse them before putting them in the dishwasher too). This is our timeline with this lovely dishwasher: purchased it on 4-27-08. It wasn’t cleaning dishes, so on 3-26-09, I called there repair number. A guy came out and adjusted the cam for the upper and lower spray arms. It was still not cleaning dishes. I called the repair number again on 5-18-09. A serviceman came out again, had to replace the motor. On 3-22-10, it was having problems again not cleaning dishes. I called their repair number and a guy came out. He had to replace the sump assembly (which he said was the guts of the dishwasher). On 7-25-11, I had to call yet again. The dishwasher was not cleaning dishes. I called their number, he again had to replace the sump assembly (the guts of the dishwasher) and now it is 11 -2-12, I’m having trouble again. So within 4 years, I have had the major components of the dishwasher replaced 3 times and I’m sure it’s going to be the fourth when the guy comes again later this week. I called customer service for LG and they pass the buck and say it is up to my extended warranty people, which thank God we purchased (because we usually don’t). They say that the part has to go bad 3 times within a year to be considered for the lemon law. Well, if you ask me this is a lemon. I should have kept my 20-year-old Whirlpool dishwasher which I never had a problem with but just was updating the kitchen so we replaced it. Big mistake! In my opinion, this is not standing behind their product. I’m sure, to them people $610.00 is nothing, but in this household, it is very hard to come by and I want to get what I paid for. I could have bought lemons much cheaper at the grocery store. Buyers beware.

I do love the French door refrigerator with the exterior water and ice dispenser. I did have difficulty with the exterior coating (called black stainless steel, which it is not) chipping off and had to fight tooth and nail to get anything done because they called it a cosmetic issue. I was not. It kept flaking. It was a defect in the coating. The refrigerator itself has been easy to clean, has multiple shelf options, and I love the wide drawer at the bottom. The freezer also has a top drawer to keep all those smaller things that can get lost in the bottom of a freezer. Also space enough for me to separate my meat from everything else, so I can see quickly what I need to replenish. The ice maker is great! Options to make extra if youre having guests is a great feature and you can switch from cube to crushed.

A few days after microwave was installed, little dents started to appear on top panel. When I called customer service about this problem, they told me that it must be my fault that the dents are appearing--really??? The range knobs have melted and stripped, so now I have to use a pliers to turn the stove on or off. They did send replacement knobs the first time it happened. Now when I call again because of this defect, they tell I have to purchase them at the tune of several hundred dollars!! And by the way, the supervisor I spoke to was nasty!! We purchased all LG products and all of them have not lived up to our stand
We purchased all LG products and all of them have not lived up to our standards. The biggest problem is the knobs on the gas stove. The knobs should be ruled as DEFECTIVE and DANGEROUS. In my career I travel quite a bit and even though I have adult kids at home sometimes they do not notice when the gas is on because of the broken knobs. The white plastic on the insides have cracked causing the knobs to just turn but not completely turning the stove off. I have contacted LG and I too have been told to purchase new knobs, however you can purchase the knobs but the problem is still not fixed. I noticed that the new LG stoves have knobs that are very steady. Why not just replace the old knobs with the newer model knobs. I pray that before anything happens like gas explosions, gas leaks etc., they would ruled out that the knobs are defective and update all the former customers with the new knobs. A couple of thousand dollars is better than a couple of million for major lawsuits.

In September 2011, we purchased an LG gas range. Within a month, we requested a service call because two of the top burners did not operate correctly. Five months since purchase, we now have total failure of the oven (doesnt come on at all) and when it did previously work, the convention option for the oven worked erratic. I still have trouble with two top burners. The grill does not get hot enough to cook a pancake. The largest burner goes out of control with huge flames (scary)! Service person was out two weeks ago and we were informed that replacement parts were not presently available and we will be contacted later. I called again to launch a complaint. I was then told we would receive a call back later that day to report the status of our claim. No call was received.I am a caregiver to an Alzheimer patient who also is diabetic. I have special foods to prepare on this new, pretty stove that doesnt work well enough to prepare a decent meal. I am severely limited in my ability to provide nutritional care for my family member. And, yes, Im angry about the situation. My range cost $1,232 and for that expense I get a bag of trouble and face a company that will not yet (after five months) stand behind the unit to properly repair or replace it.

I purchased a new LG refrigerator in June 2015 and about 3 years later it stopped working. It turns out to be a faulty compressor. Even though the compressor is warrantied for 10 years I still had to pay over $300 for repair. I thought it may have been just a fluke but exactly one year later the same thing happened again. When I contacted LG they once again expect me to pay for repairs out of pocket. It is highly unreasonable that a refrigerator would not last past 3 years and then the repaired compressor would once again failed in just a year. Am I expected to have to pay $300 a year from now on to have an operating fridge? Ive owned this fridge for well under 5 years and this should not be the case. Needless to say I will not be purchasing another LG appliance.

I purchased a LG refrigerator and wasn’t aware of the known defects that come with it. One day it just stopped working. Being a licensed Electrician I decided to check it out. I immediately saw that the compressor had power, but wasn’t working. I dug up my purchase order, called LG and the warranty company. I did purchase the extended warranty when I purchased it. Now I find myself having to wait up to 4 weeks to finally get this repaired. They say they are sorry, but make little effort to move things along. They have known that there compressors are bad but don’t offer a recall on it. Tonight I’m going to go buy a new refrigerator (not LG) while I wait for them to repair the garbage they sold me. They expect a family of 6 to wait. I’m hoping for a class action lawsuit to happen so I can get some satisfaction from this. Save yourself, don’t waste your money. Buy a different brand and do your homework before you purchase. Disgraceful company!

I would never buy this type of range again. The large burners are in the front, where one would place a large stock pot. It is very dangerous to have such a large pot positioned in front. You have to reach over it to get to the smaller pots. Its very dangerous. The reason I bought this range was because it matches the refrigerator. It looks good, but it is difficult to use. I can manage it, because it is just my husband and myself. If I had a young family, I would get rid of it (even though it is new). It could become a hazard with small children around. They could easily pull a large pot over on them. I am constantly vigilant when I am cooking on it and worried I will tip the front pots over on myself. Its not a pleasure to cook anymore!

Purchase Lg Range at best buy in Oct. 2013 with two year warranty. Range broke, it’s over two weeks- still waiting to be repaired. Made an appointment with LG Customer care Monday. Technician came out Thursday, claimed the parts that was sent to my house by customer care were wrong, so he ordered the part using his cell phone and he gave us time and day that he will be back Saturday same week between 11:00 am to 1:00pm. We waited and he didnt call us. We called him back after 1pm. He didnt get the part. Made another appointment with him, we said Monday morning we’re at home. We go to tampa to work from Monday afternoon and be back Wednesday night, he said available to come Tuesday. We have to work so made arrangement for him to come on Thursday. He said okay, Thursday Jan. 22, between 12:00-1:30. We waited - no calls so we called him back after 1:00. He said “I thought it was done”, we asked “did you get the parts you needed?” He said “yes”, so why he said he thought it was done if he still has the part with him. He said that we did not call LG customer service to make an appointment for him to come, I said: “You gave me a time and date that you will come out Thursday between 12:00 and 1:30pm, why do I need to call LG to make an appointment if you made an arrangement to come?” So, I called LG customer care again and spoke with RJ and advise me that I dont have to call him back because he will be sure that he will call us (Bill the technician) to call us back. Waited again - no call from him so, I called LG back again and spoke with Kyle - couldnt help me, transfer me to Willie, the supervisor, and he said that the LG policy is for the customers to call back to make an appointment AGAIN, if the technician couldnt make it again, and to make another claim to have the stove fix. And then I was transferred to LG Premier Care, spoke with Carnecsha and I told her I will file complaint and Ill call Consumer Advocate to complain. She told me I couldnt do and I told her “why not, we’ve been pushed run around, as a consumer we have rights, this is our life, we bought the warranty as we were told by sales people.” And then she transferred me to Best Buy to the Geek squad who carries the warranty that we bought, and then transferred again to LG to make another arrangement for technician to come out.

It has new technology than my previous fridge. I also enjoy the experience that I have gotten out of it thus far which is honestly the best experience I would say I have ever had with LG appliances. I really enjoy the purification of the water because I live in the country off well water and it seems to help lessen the taste which I really enjoy with this new LG fridge. I like the app that is available as well as how durable the fridge is, I greatly appreciate it.

LG stepped up and covered the repair even though the refrigerator was less than a year out of warranty. Extremely pleased with the response from LG. The repair was prompt and very professional, all completed at no cost. Upgraded from 1 star to 4 stars. Loosing one star due to having to publicly post before the company acted. We love our LG refrigerator and extremely happy that it is now working great again! Thank You LG!

In January 2019 we purchased four new top-of-the-line LG appliances from Home Depot: dishwasher, oven/range/microwave and refrigerator. Within two months we had problems with the dishwasher and LG did not have the needed parts. Within the next several months we had to call for service on the oven/range (twice), on the microwave, and this week on the refrigerator. LG was extremely uncooperative in scheduling a service appointment, even after the Home Depot telephone them on our behalf. They insisted on photographs of our receipts (we have neither smart phones or the ability to transmit photos) although we gave LG THE MODEL NUMBER, SERIAL NUMBER, RECEIPT NUMBER AND DATE AND THE TELEPHONE NUMBER OF THE Home Depot store. The LG representative was rude, and even hung up on my wife. Home Depot had a similar experience, and advised us to NEVER buy an LG appliance from Home Depot in the future. Not much chance of that! Recently, our DLG6988s dryer (part of a combo) stopped heating. Everything seemed to be working, but no heat! We called the point of purchase (POP) company. We had purchased a 4-year extended warranty program with them. The company provided a work order for repair. The repair diagnosis, full replacement as there had been a fire because the lint was not leaving the dryer but instead, getting in around the drum and the harness was damaged. There was no lint in the tube, none in the lint catch area. It was around the drum instead. No repair could be done. According to the repairman, who has seen this before, this is apparently is a problem with LG gas dryers of this model, which they no longer make, and a report was sent to LG.LG informed us that since we had purchased an extended warranty, the POP company would look after us. We went back to the POP company and their extended warranty department told us that the dryer credit would be prorated and we would be given in-store credit to spend on a new dryer. We looked at dryers and to purchase a comparable dryer to the one we have now. The total cost, including extended warranty, is now another $706.00 over and above the credit we were given. We contacted LG regarding the dryer and the customer service rep told us they would not replace it since the LG warranty was up. The POP company will not replace it, but would give us the credit, take it or leave it.We did not cause the fire. We cleaned our machine diligently of lint. There was no lint anywhere other than in the drum area. They are removing the dryer tomorrow, however, I would like to prove to LG that this defect is their responsibility and the dryer, which is less than 5 years old, should be replaced. The downside would be it would be another LG product. We will never buy another LG product and I urge you to do the same. Because of the offshore parts problem with LG, any repairs that can be made can take more than 5 weeks and their customer service is unsatisfactory to put it mildly. Do your homework before purchasing anything from this company!

Bought this DW because the guy at Home Depot told us it was the top of the line... it was the most expensive. It looked awesome, and seemed to have great features. We spend near $1000 on it. If you like to wash your dishes before you put them in the dishwasher, and again before you put them back in the cupboards... This is a great dishwasher. About 1 in 10 items comes out remotely clean (cutlery 1 in 40). The racks are useless and cause domino effect of falling plates every time you load it. Nothing seems to fit in any of the many racking configurations. If I ever win the lotto, Im taking a sledgehammer to this thing, it is by far the worst appliance I ever bought. I bought a LG refrigerator from Home Depot LFX25960ST in 2007. The ice maker has broken down twice which needed servicing. In Feb 2014, just like the other consumer complaint, we smelled something burning and realized that the light fixture housing had completely burnt and melted. Even the light bulb was melted. We called LG and the technician came out the very next day. Told us that this is a common issue and just replaced the light housing without address to the fridges melted ceiling. Told us to use 40 watts light bulb instead of the manual recommended 60 watts (which we had been using). When I contacted LG and submitted pictures and wanted to file a products liability claim, twice they replied via email and plainly rejected it. I now today told them that I will seek social media and legal counsel. I am now waiting for their response.

The LG microwave (MW MC7688) was purchased by me on 30.11.2008. On 21.08.2012, we went for AMC, which is from 21.08.2012 to 20.08.2013. Some of the parts were not functioning so we lodged the following complaints: RNA ** dated 19.01.2013, RNA ** dated 23.01.2013, and RNA ** dated 31.01.2013. The service technician visited and verified the oven. He confirmed that one part is to be replaced, but that part is not available as the company has stopped manufacturing that model. Subsequently, Mr. ** called on 09.02.2013, and confirmed that the model is out of stock, and that the company will pay back 15% of the purchase cost. Then we spoke to Mr. Manish ** on **. He conveyed point blank and asked us to do whatever we want, but we will get only 15% of the purchase price. The purchase price was Rs. 8,499/- and 15% comes to Rs.1,275/-; whereas, we have already paid Rs. 815/- for the AMC cost.Is it our problem that the company has stopped production? If that is the case, then why was AMC taken? We need the part to be replaced or a replacement of a new oven.

I purchased a home which included appliances including my LG bottom freezer refrigerator (model number LRDC22744TT) this time last year and moved in in August. An internal leak developed in the refrigerator compartment, which was discovered to be a broken reservoir that feeds the water dispenser in the door. The reservoir was replaced by a local serviceman. Here 6 months later, the new reservoir cracks, clearly caused by defect in the component. Their response? Out of warranty. No replacement. My first unit came with a manufacturing defect where the housing unit inside the fridge housing. The styrofoam kept coming apart and wouldnt stay put. LG and Lowes recommended that I just exchange it for a new product. Besides that one manufacturing defect, the unit worked fine; it was quiet and efficient. Now, after a week the second and replacement unit was delivered. Oh boy, LG has some major issues they need to fix. First, the unit comes without one shelf on the freezer side. This was remedied by them saying they would send one out to us. Second, this fridge is much louder than the first unit we received. It makes a constant humming noise, which is quiet and we wouldnt have thought much of it, but we had experiences with our first defective unit to compare it to. Heres the kicker though. Occasionally, the fridge will start rattling. Its not too abhorrent, but when we open the fridge, the shelves will make a vibrating noise that gets amplified. I contacted LG support again to ask how to remedy this because we werent sure if it was a leveling issue or something else. The agent that I was connected to just tells me to unplug it and plug it back in, and adds that if it isnt resolved we would need service for a fridge that we had just received. To top it all off, the serial number matches a fridge that was made in April 2020. How terrible does your quality control procedure have to be for this to happen? Im 0/2 in receiving a brand new perfect product. I went with LG because people said they improved (partially because of my Korean bias), but man stay away. Currently debating if I should ask Lowes to replace the unit or if I should go with a completely different refrigerator. Terrible. Just terrible.

Along with a lot of others Im sure, my favorite part was of course the ice/water section built into the door. Few days after purchasing LMHM2017ST, we would hear a squeaky noise from the turntable when on. It seemed just slightly bothersome then and so live with it.A few months later, numbers on the touch keypad stopped working one by one. Now most of them dont work. Also many other buttons are not working. The fan and light buttons are also not working causing these features not be available anymore. Next, another issue cropped up - the microwave switches on, on its own, as soon as the door is opened. So there are now multiple problems in a short duration of gentle use. I called LG customer service but they offered to send someone to fix these issues for a charge of $185 + tax. They would give only 60 days warranty and only on the services performed. They will not guarantee on anything else. It seems they know that there can arise even more problems in future. I bought this microwave because it looked good but other than that it turned out to be a crappy and expensive unit (over $500). I will not buy anything LG in future.

Have had the fridge about 15 years. During that time it required 3 repairs. Last issue was fridge compartment freezing. Technician was unable to identify or fix the source of the problem. Some plastic parts like vegetable drawers were flimsy and broke easily. Otherwise it was a stylish and good, quiet unit.

We purchased our LG refrigerator last November. The ice maker stopped working in March. We were scheduled for service two weeks later. The night before it was to be serviced the refrigerator stops working altogether. I call the service company to give them a heads up that more parts will be needed only to be informed that LG doesnt give the repair service parts until theyve been out to analyze the problem. The service representative comes out and says its the power circuit board and orders a new one that takes four weeks to receive; another week to arrange the service appointment. The service rep (Jeff a good guy) returns to installs the boards and tells us all is well. The ice maker worked for three days and then stopped. I call the repair shop and was told that service cant come back out because LG has closed the ticket; so I have to call LG again. Jeff comes out to analyze the lingering problem to get the replacement part. We were told that the part is back ordered and expected delivery will be a month. Two months roll by without the delivery of the part. It is now July and the ice maker remains inoperable. While waiting for the part, in May we called the service shop to voice our concern about not having our functioning ice maker. The service shop told us that LG was likely going to replace or refund us for our refrigerator since the part is taking so long to arrive. We called LG and they said they needed a copy of our receipts for the refrigerator and they would send us a link to the LG service department. A couple of weeks later the service shop called and asked what was the status of the LGs replacement or refund on this ticket. I told the service shop I was still waiting for a link from LG to send receipts. She told me I should call LG again, which I did. LG said I had given them the wrong email address (my email address is my first and last name so essentially they were telling me I didnt know how to spell my last name). When I questioned why they thought I couldnt spell my last name and asked them to take ownership of the error they hung up on me. I sent in the copies of my receipts. LG never got back to me (as I had been promised). I asked them today (about a month after they had received the receipts) what was happening in regards to my replacement or refund and they said that since the part should be in next week, a replacement or refund was rejected. This action from LG is probably just a delaying tactic on their part. Ive been hung up on about six times from their warranty service, usually after being on hold for over fifteen minutes just waiting for them to pick up after a transfer. They have promised me a call back on several occasions and I have yet to receive a call from them. Their product seems to be of low quality based on it failing within the first six months of operation. Their warranty service would have to improve several steps to make it up to pathetic. I strongly suggest buying from a different brand.

In 2010 I purchased my first LG refrigerator from best buy. I had several problems with it freezing food on the refrigerator side. They came out to repair it several times. In 2014 after about 3-4x of having to come repair the refrigerator they replaced it because it was under an extended warranty plan. I now have problems with the new replacement refrigerator which its warranty expired in June. I had a service person come to check the refrigerator out and they said the compressor is bad and it will cost $1100.00 to get it repaired. Totally not what I suspected. I paid him for the service call and diagnostic testing but I now have no refrigerator. This has been a bad experience with LG refrigerators for me.

I bought a very expensive double LG oven. I noticed a few months ago that the enamel was coming off inside the oven. I went and talked to the retailer who sold it to me and they told me I had to contact LG which I did. I sent pictures and never heard back from them. So I contacted them again and was told I had to pay someone to come look at the defective oven. Enamel peeling off the inside of an oven should never happen. This is defective not a problem with a part. I will also say that in the last 4 years I have purchased from LG a double oven, Very expensive refrigerator, microwave oven. Front loading washer & dryer and 2 Smart TVs. Their customer service is so unprofessional and never tried to help me. They have definitely lost this LG customer! I own a business and have been in business for 19 years I would never treat a good customer like I have been treated. Goodbye LG.

I guess that judging by the other microwave reviews, I shouldnt be surprised that my first-ever LG product wasnt any good. We purchased a new house in May, which included a new LG microwave that was purchased/installed in April when the kitchen was remodeled. Last week, the microwave just completely stopped working, and when I called LG, none of the troubleshooting solutions worked. Their response was that they needed a receipt to look at it and repair it. However, the previous owner did not have the receipt. I told them that I knew for a fact that it was purchased in April. Regardless of that, its manufactured date was May 2011, so shouldnt they be ashamed that their product only lasted 1.5 years from its manufactured date? Instead, I now have to contact the people we bought our house from and ask them to call the store they purchased the unit from and find the receipt - wasting everyones time. Products break, I get that. But its the fact that it broke within 1.5 years of its manufactured date and that customer service was awful. I will never buy an LG appliance again, and Ill pass the word along to my friends.

On September 7th, 2018, Home Depot Canada delivered an LG LFXC24726S refrigerator I had purchased on August 30th. I had researched refrigerators prior to going to Home Depot and relied on the salesman’s recommendation for either the LG or Samsung 3 door French style with external water and ice. Periodically during the first 9 months the defrost cycle seemed to run too long and things would be warm in both the refrigerator and freezer. On July 28th the unit stopped cooling completely. 4 hours later it started cooling again. Late afternoon on July 29th it stopped cooling again and I lost the contents of the refrigerator and the freezer that night. After repeated calls to LG on the morning of July 30th and having to send pictures of my invoice from Home Depot I was finally put through to the appliance repair service that handles their warranty repairs as a “priority”. The earliest anyone could come to look at it was 2 days later on August 1st. On July 31st the unit started cooling again. The technician could not determine what the problem was on August 1st so he decided to order a new main board. Cooling was intermittent after his visit and then the unit started freezing items in the refrigerator. On August 8th the part arrived and the repair service set up to replace the board on August 15th. The same technician did the repair and he was done in 20 minutes. The refrigerator worked fine for the 15th and the 16th but sometime in the early morning hours of August 17th it stopped cooling again completely and for the second time in less than a month I have lost hundreds of dollars of food. LG uses a repair service which does not work on the weekends and does not provide any emergency service. After more than an hour on the phone and on hold with LG’s Canadian customer service in Panama, I had to start over from scratch and send pictures of my purchase invoice AGAIN. Disgusting customer service and I am left with no refrigerator, garbage bags full of spoiled food and nothing more than an email sent to the same repair company with instructions for me to call them on Monday and book a service appointment. LG is aware of the issues with their sealed systems and linear inverters and there currently is a class-action lawsuit on behalf of consumers. How disappointing that they have not done anything to correct the problems and consumers are left with a useless piece of junk in their kitchen. Also very disturbing that Consumers Reports continues to recommend these defective refrigerators. I have subscribed for years to Consumers Reports magazine and believed their testing results but no more. DON’T BUY LG!
