I have an LG front load. It does not have an option to add more water and there is never any extra water in it other than what is on the clothes. As a result I have to wet the clothes down before I start the cycle and do a “rinse and spin” at the end of a full wash as the “extra rinse” does not utilize enough water to justify the electricity being used but the rinse and spin seems to have residual water in the drum. Even with minimal soap and fabric softener or using vinegar in the mid cycle the clothes still come out with a chemical smell to them. Yes I clean the machine regularly as it also has a problem with getting smelly quickly. Had to replace the sensor that creates the spin at year 6 but DIY as this is such a common problem and instructions found easily on the internet.

I purchased this LG fridge in 2014 and was very pleased with it till this past week when it has been nothing but an issue. Out of the blue it completely lost all power, no lights, no display panel, no fans or compressor. We had to throw all all the food that we had purchased for the holidays. I called LG customer support and was very disappointed, as all they could do was ask me to try another outlet and then try to charge me $125 just to have someone come look at it. They recommended a local service that was approved by them, so I called and scheduled an appointment. They came out and replaced the PCB and the power came back and the fridge and freezer appeared to be working fine. After 48 hrs the Fridge still had power but everything thawed out and all the ice melted making a mess in the fridge and on the floor. Not to mention, the second batch of food that had to be thrown out because we filled the fridge after 24 hrs when it appeared to be working. When I called customer support, they were zero help and told me I had to deal with the repair service that made the repair. Of course it was a weekend so I had wait another two days. When I got in touch with the repair company they told me that if it was a sealed system or compressor issue, they could diagnose it but were not authorized to repair it. So basically I wasted my money, because the repair company that LG told me to call is not authorized to make the repair. When I called LG customer service back, all they told me was that they could schedule another LG repair person to come out, which I would have to pay another $125 for, to diagnose and make the repairs. I complained about having to pay another fee when if they referred me to the correct repair service to begin with, I wouldnt have had to pay the second fee. Their response was just that they were sorry and there wasnt anything they could do. After complaining and continuing to ask to speak to someone else I was put on hold and when they came back, they told me all they could do was file a formal complaint to upper management about the incorrect referral but I was assured there was no guarantee anything would happen or that I would even receive a followup call to resolve the complaint.I was very upset to find out that this seems to be a common issue with these LG fridges. A quick search on the internet and speaking to the repair service, they see multiple calls a week on these LG Fridges due to bad PCB and or compressor failures. It is nice that LG warranties the compressor for 10 yrs, however its, disturbing that they all seem to fail before 10 yrs and the warranty doesnt cover the labor or help with the hardship and loss of money as a result of the fridge failing to work. The worst part of the experience has been the support from LG. Im not a qualified technician but Im pretty handy and can diagnose most problems. When talking with LG customer support they have zero interest in hearing the symptoms and the troubleshooting that has been done to try to work through the issue. As soon as they are done with their pre-determined check list of questions, they quickly rush you off the phone to schedule a repair man to come out which of course they charge you for.

Purchased top loading LG washing machine. Only two years old and it is rusting all around the bleach dispenser and starting to show in other areas as well. When I called to complain they said I must have spilled bleach around the area. I do not use it often but it is for BLEACH! Said it is a cosmetic issue and not covered! Ridiculous!

To whom it may concern, I am very disappoint of your service for my refrigerator. My refrigerator is not cooling since 05/20/2019. The technician came out 5 times and fixed for 3 times. The last fixing was last for a week and it was not cooling on July 4 of 2019. I had 18 people in my home on that day and we had to trash a lot of food. There is another technician comes out tomorrow to take a look at my refrigerator, I have 2 young children who need food and milk. This is very frustrated for them because they keep asking when my refrigerator is fixed so they can have some food as before. When I talked to customer service she said that 3 times are the last chance if it does not work, they will replace or refund me money so I can have a new refrigerator. This is not true because LG still wants to come out and look at it again. The schedule is really taking so long (7 days or 10 days ahead). Another customer service told me that the policy is fixing from 1-2 weeks. However, it is almost 2 months for this. Therefore, this is also a problem and I dont know what is your policy. You can just keep doing this and do not care about the customer as for how long this has been going on. I can tell you that we will not buy any LG product in the future because of your service likes this. I have told my co-works, friends and my relatives regarding of your service.

Purchased a top of the line LG Refrigerator in combination with stove, dishwasher and microwave. Began having problems with refrigerator after 9 months. Tried to report using web site as instructed. Attempts went unanswered. Numerous attempts by phone and letter have resulted in no action with usually no response. Ice Maker unit is completely inoperable now and water has leaked into control panel with delamination of plastic cover. If you want a company that stands behind their product do not buy LG.

LG LD1452WFEN3 - Purchased February 2015, its May now. Had approx. 4 call outs, dishes never clean, mostly never dry. Initially came up with the OE symbol. Unit was apparently not draining due to installation, unit removed, rebuilt. Technician excellent but the dishwasher is very very unreliable, simple product like kids yogurt doesnt wash out of plastic cups. I paid $798 plus $30 to have it installed. Waiting now on feedback and responses from LG and store I purchased from. I will not buy new or LG again. I have not had 1 successful full clean from it. Thanks.

We purchased our LG refrigerator last November. The ice maker stopped working in March. We were scheduled for service two weeks later. The night before it was to be serviced the refrigerator stops working altogether. I call the service company to give them a heads up that more parts will be needed only to be informed that LG doesnt give the repair service parts until theyve been out to analyze the problem. The service representative comes out and says its the power circuit board and orders a new one that takes four weeks to receive; another week to arrange the service appointment. The service rep (Jeff a good guy) returns to installs the boards and tells us all is well. The ice maker worked for three days and then stopped. I call the repair shop and was told that service cant come back out because LG has closed the ticket; so I have to call LG again. Jeff comes out to analyze the lingering problem to get the replacement part. We were told that the part is back ordered and expected delivery will be a month. Two months roll by without the delivery of the part. It is now July and the ice maker remains inoperable. While waiting for the part, in May we called the service shop to voice our concern about not having our functioning ice maker. The service shop told us that LG was likely going to replace or refund us for our refrigerator since the part is taking so long to arrive. We called LG and they said they needed a copy of our receipts for the refrigerator and they would send us a link to the LG service department. A couple of weeks later the service shop called and asked what was the status of the LGs replacement or refund on this ticket. I told the service shop I was still waiting for a link from LG to send receipts. She told me I should call LG again, which I did. LG said I had given them the wrong email address (my email address is my first and last name so essentially they were telling me I didnt know how to spell my last name). When I questioned why they thought I couldnt spell my last name and asked them to take ownership of the error they hung up on me. I sent in the copies of my receipts. LG never got back to me (as I had been promised). I asked them today (about a month after they had received the receipts) what was happening in regards to my replacement or refund and they said that since the part should be in next week, a replacement or refund was rejected. This action from LG is probably just a delaying tactic on their part. Ive been hung up on about six times from their warranty service, usually after being on hold for over fifteen minutes just waiting for them to pick up after a transfer. They have promised me a call back on several occasions and I have yet to receive a call from them. Their product seems to be of low quality based on it failing within the first six months of operation. Their warranty service would have to improve several steps to make it up to pathetic. I strongly suggest buying from a different brand.

Well our big LG made it past its 5th birthday without a single repair, but sadly the compressor died exactly 120 days after that milestone. We bought our LFX31925ST in July 2012 from Home Depot. Looks can be deceiving... the interior had very good fit and finish and oh the size. From the first week, we would hear a loud bang every few days. I figured it was some kind of expansion valve. Ice cubes would often clump together, so it became a routine to open the ice maker door and un-clump the ice with a spoon. But for 5 years it was pretty much trouble-free. I had a commercial-grade surge protector on it from day 1. Both the freezer and refrigerator compartment stopped cooling right after Thanksgiving this year (thank God it was AFTER Thanksgiving). And just good luck my mom moved the week before and gave me her old upright freezer, thus we didnt lose much food. I removed the back panel on the LG and verified both fan and compressor were running. As it was out of 1 year labor warranty, LG would not pay for the service call to determine if the 7-year sealed system or 10-year warrantied compressor was the culprit. Spent $98 and waited a few days on a service call. Tech gets on the phone with LG and diagnosed it needs a new compressor. Compressor is under 10-year warranty, 1 month back order, but $1295 for labor is my responsibility. Geez, I should have went to refrigeration school. Tech said hes replaced so many of these LG compressors and recommended I get a new Whirlpool. He said even the replacements would fail. I like our LG fridge for its size and interior fit and finish, but to spend $1300 on a repair that will probably not last? My family members still have GE and Jenn Air fridges that are over 20 years old and not a single service call. Really disappointed. All this linear compressor and Inverter power supply technology seems to have compromised reliability. Anyone still make good old reliable refrigerators?

Every time I use my LG Wave Force supposedly “self balancing” washing machine it takes multiple hours to finish one load unless I am constantly readjusting the clothes to keep it balanced evenly. It doesn’t seem to matter if the load is big, medium or small in size. The result is still the same. The clothes do not seem to come out clean and the machine takes forever to finish a load. I spent a lot more than I had expected for this washing machine because of the great reviews that I read about it and have been highly dissatisfied since I purchased this piece of junk. I will never buy an LG washing machine ever again and I am writing this review to help others save their money to put towards their hard earned money towards a washing machine that’s well worth the big purchase. Clearly this one was a huge purchasing mistake. I HATE this machine!!!As if doing laundry wasn’t enough of a chore, babysitting this machine and CONSTANTLY readjusting the clothes is a busy woman’s nightmare!!! I’ve talked to many people and the consensus is the people love their washer if they purchased a Speed Queen. I’ll be looking into that type of washer soon. I would’ve thrown the LG washer out my second floor window by now if I could!!

Soon after we bought this model on 7/28/09, we had to replace the circuit board as a result of what the repairman said was a design flaw, whereby using the self-cleaning mode will burn the circuit boards out if you use them more than once a year. Now, our oven will not heat. The oven indicator says both elements are on, but they are only warm to the touch. I cant get a repair manual or an answer from LG as to how to fix it or if there is a recall on the product itself. Are we stuck with this bogus product?

Our LG front loading washer and dryer are seven years old. We purchased a four year service plan with each, which got us through the first four years. The washer is on its third drum, although replacement drum number two was discovered to be damaged during installation. A lot of other parts have also been replaced, Ive lost track. The water pump went out and needed replacement, which was probably good because it was discovered the drum was again loose. Now the unit died, nothing works, third control panel installed, still dead. The dryer is another story with a consistent knocking. When asked, the warranty serviceman suggested buying an older washing machine in good condition off Craigslist or at garage sales. Id happily pay more for a dependable product, in the end it would be more economical. I thought LG might be such a product but as it turns out its just run of the mill with great advertising.

I bought an “LG Microwave Smart Inverter Magnetron” at Lowe’s, the higher priced larger microwave. After a few short months it completely stopped working while I was using it to heat up food. Only use is frozen meals, or heat food / drink about once a day. The longest period of use is 8 minutes. I contacted LG and they asked for a receipt before they would refund. I sent the receipt via email as they requested. After 6 weeks, they called and said I would need to go buy another LG and THEN they would reimburse me after I sent them a proof of purchase. The problem with that is, I don’t want another LG because of the chance of breaking and going through all of this AGAIN! Also, what if I get stuck and I am then $600 down the drains. The customer service is in Hong Kong and I had a difficult time communicating. #NEVERLG!

My LG refrigerator has failed for the 4th time in less than 4 years; 2 compressors and 2 evaporators. I paid $2,999 for the refrigerator from Sears. On August 21st my refrigerator failed and I called to schedule service. The agent on the phone asked me a few questions and confirmed that it was a sealed system issue. The next available service was Sept 5. I live in a large city so it should not be this difficult to get service. The next day I spoke to the local LG servicer. After I explained that the sealed system has failed 3 other times they told me they could not service the refrigerator since they did not do the prior work. They went on to say that it was LGs policy to replace a refrigerator on the 4th sealed system issue. On Aug 22, I finally I spoke to someone in LG Consumer Relations and was told that my refrigerator qualifies for a buy back. The last sealed system issue was less than a year ago and I could request a buy back. I was told It would take 3-4 days for the final dollar amount to be determined and another 4 weeks to receive a check. As requested I sent in my Proof of Purchase using the web link emailed to me. On Aug 24th I called LG service for an update and was told I had not sent my Proof of Purchase, I sent it a second time and verified that it was received. Again I was told 3-4 days to receive the final offer details. I called today, Aug 30th, and was transferred 4 times. I am now told that someone had not followed through on the case and it would be another 3-4 working days before a decision would be made. What recourse do I have?

My 3 year old LG side by side refrigerator went out on the eve of Thanksgiving (11-27-19). We promptly called LG customer service and was told to wait 4-6 hours for the freezer to freeze again and was told to call back in the am to run the smart IQ diagnostics. Freezer and fridge both out. Most likely the compressor like everyone else. Called 11-29-19 and was given a service repair date of 12-5-2019. I thought that seemed a long time to wait but figured I’d survive. Mind you, we have a household of 9 (7 kids). The day of the 5th I started getting text from repair company saying I was changed to the 13th. Called LG for an earlier appointment and the long run around saga began with countless calls and continues with the same song and dance as everyone else on here. Two weeks without a working fridge and counting....

PLEASE DO NOT BUY AN LG REFRIGERATOR!! I dont even know where to begin. This is the second LG refrigerator I bought to replace the first one that could never be fixed properly. I splurged on a 3-door French Door with an ice maker and water in the door. It was purchased in 2009 and had problems right away. Within the first few months, the gaskets on the French doors ripped. I had a private company come out to fix them. When the company indicated to me that I might want to inform LG directly of my problem, I did. A lengthy, almost year-long process ensued. To this day, I have a 3-door French Door refrigerator that does not work properly. The ice maker flap in the door does not close, causing the ice to melt. It has permanently damaged my hardwood flooring. The gaskets have been replaced no less than three times and they still tear. LG customer service representatives, Garrett and Kuzi ** have told me that they will no longer pay to service the refrigerator and unless I pay for another service call, they will not pro-rate a new refrigerator. How sad and disappointing that I feel as though they lied to me and promised a pro-rate that they never followed through with. I truly hope this makes you think twice before buying an LG French door refrigerator. I have lost all confidence in this manufacturers ability to provide customer service. Their representatives can easily quote ridiculous policies that they must follow but they have absolutely no sense of a customers frustration over spending $2500 on a refrigerator that has NEVER worked properly.

I bought a LG refrigerator for $2500 from Best Buy on Route 1 Iselin, New Jersey. Within 5 years the refrigerator stopped working and the customer service provided a local LG Dealership numbers, where I had to call and schedule a service repair at my expense and the technician came in checked and advised that the compressor was broken, and I had replace the compressor at my OWN expense even though the compressor was still under warranty. LG did not take any responsibility for the warranty coverage they owed. Now, its been 4 years. Again the LG compressor is broken. Having such bad experience with LG, I am afraid to call the LG customer service again. Same story repeats again.... SHAME SHAME SHAME ON LG customer service... Not worth a damn on the inside! Three failures after warranty. Ice Maker which I replaced. Board failure which a small appliance company replaced. Now the compressor is no longer pumping. And guess what, its only a year and a half old. Last failure date - 6/29/17 just before the fourth of July weekend. So now we have to scramble to get some refrigeration. Our washer (LGWM2301H) was purchased 3.5 years ago. Recently, it developed a grinding sound that was amplified when spinning. A repairman charged me $80 to tell me that the bearings were going and, OF COURSE, that particular problem was not covered under the warranty (whatever the hell is), and that the repair would cost more than $500.My husband and I are both a little shy of 70 years young and do just a few loads a week. Also, we have used numerous AMERICAN-made washers in our lives that never broke down but just were replaced due to age. This expensive LG was a treat for my retirement; my husband wanted me to have the BEST. Well, as it turned out, we bought the BEST of the Asian junk market or wherever this jewel was conceived - LG has taken care not to provide that information. It has been hauled away today and been replaced by an ALL AMERICAN-MADE MAYTAG top loader. The downside of this is that LG screwed us out of $800. (I could have had my laundry sent out for that amount.) But the upside is that, hopefully, LG will continue to put out junk and screw itself out of the market with the rest of the junk producers. It is refreshing to know that the MAYTAG IS ONCE AGAIN COMPLETELY MADE IN AMERICA, BY AMERICANS - WITH COPPER WIRING AND NO ALUMINUM JUNK . Go for it, LG. I can only hope that you will continue digging your own grave.

From day 1, my machine leaked. I called and was told it was due to using too much detergent. I thought that may be the problem and used below the normal line every cycle. Still sporadically, there are leaks below the machine. As I called and was told over and over again, my machine is fine. I let my machine go out of warranty. Now beyond leaking, it stops mid-cycle often so I have to sit next to the machine while washing clothes to restart it and finish cycles. Beyond that, sometimes it gets stuck at 9 minutes left and starts spinning and stops spinning over and over again. Beyond that, when it is filling up, the valves close so quickly it causes all the pipes in my house to shake and bang causing leaks in pipes. Something needs to be done about this. LG should stand behind their product.

This is the second microwave of this model. The first one worked fine for a year - until a few days after the warranty ran out. It was cheaper to buy a new one than to have it repaired, so we bought a new one because it matched the rest of our LG appliances. This one lasted less than 3 months. Home Depot requires 3 repair attempts before they wil take it back (even though we have the extended service plan on this one), so we got in touch with LG again. The same repair man came out and took it apart and put it back together again, saying he couldnt find what the problem was. It worked after that - for 1 day. When I called the repair company again, the tech said he would contact LG for us and get it taken care of. He did contact them, but we have only heard from them once to request more paperwork. Still waiting for the follow-up call a week later to get a refund. I will never buy another LG microwave. Very disappointed in their customer service.

Like the other review, if you set your oven to bake at 350, and watch a professional thermometer inside the oven, you will see the oven climb to around 475 and stay there for a few minutes while the panel says the temp inside oven is only 345. If you then set the oven down to bake at 345 in hopes of still being able to cook something before your house burns down, the oven will inform you that it is actually only 340 degrees in the oven, and continue blazing away until it is satisfied. It will eventually beep to let you know it is ready. At that point, ensuring there is no flammable material within 10 ft, you will need to open the door and leave it open for about a minute to let it cool down. Once the oven has cooled down, you are now ready to cook, and the oven works flawlessly. I agree that the gas knobs are easily turned on when you brush against it, but thats just the way it is and I can live with it. Gas burners work flawlessly and I love cooking on it. Just wish I knew how to turn off the incinerator preheat setting.

I purchased an LG gas range from Best Buy approximately 18 months ago. I have recently discovered the knobs have been well-documented as dangerous and we have had to replace all on our own. This complaint is regarding sparking on burners out of the blue! Sunday evening, my husband and I heard a clicking noise and when I entered the kitchen, the stove burners where sparking! The only way it would stop was to pull the stove out from the wall. Still sparking, it was unplugged and we turned off the gas. LG came out today and has no idea what caused this and doesnt know what to do about it. I was told to call them if it happens again. Thats if we are home and, God forbid, not asleep. This is so dangerous!

WT5001CW - We are still having significant problems with our LG washer. The latest issue involves the troubled spin cycle particularly when washing items in the Towel Setting. While trying to wash just 3 bath towels along with several smaller items, our washer will become unbalanced during the spin cycle subsequently causing our machine to stop operating! After having to stop, adjust, and rearrange items, the machine will resume the spin cycle only to have the washer once again cease normal operation requiring me to repeat the process of pulling out these wet items. As I indicated previously, I believe this chronic balance problem is due to a defective LG software issue rendering our washer unsuitable for the ordinary purpose for which it was sold to us. This LG washer is defective. We cannot operate the washer for which it was intended.

I purchased an LG microwave for nearly $250.00 and its been replaced twice by Home Depot, making this the third unit to electrically fail with smoke coming from its internals after only a 45 second operating cycle. LG was contacted and initially stated that I would be responsible for taking the faulty unit to their authorized repair center in Chino Hills, Ca. - about 15 or 20 miles from my home - and pay for the repair.I informed them that I had taken the liberty of visiting this website and discovered that there appears to be some sort of electrical defect in their microwave considering the number of failures, the description of the failures and the short period of time between its purchase and the apparent electrical collapse of their product. In my experience, an item with a record this poor should be on some sort of safety recall list before it causes an injury or fire, but Ive not been advised of any such recall by either of the two customer service personnel I contacted during the course of our conversations on August 21, 2015.After being placed on hold for an eternity, and refusing to be blown off with what I can only describe as double speak, I informed the initial customer service person and the subsequent one that here in California there are regulations in place to protect consumers against abuses by big corporations with a bait and switch approach to consumer sales. According to this customer service contact, LG boasts their Magnetron has a 10 year warranty but to capitalize on this claim, the consumer must first pay for the labor involved which usually is a large portion of the initial cost of the unit!I have opened a claim or case # of ** with the assisting personnel who now report that there will be either a refund/credit or replacement within 6-8 weeks but they could not elaborate on which. In the interim, Im left without a microwave for the duration. If LG does the right thing, Ill report it, if not Ill provide that information as well.

On April 2012, we purchased an LG over-the-stove microwave Model LMH2016ST for $320. The warranty was only good for one year but we thought we were buying a good product so went ahead and purchased it. On August 2015, the Primary Interlock Switch on the door broke so we called a recommended appliance repairman who replaced it for a total of $170.75. The same switch broke again on February 2016, one year later, and the same repairman told us he has to order a new part and this will cost another $170.75. I called LG Company and registered a complaint about this happening twice and they told me I should have paid attention to the one year warranty at the time of purchase. They do not stand behind their products. We will not repair this microwave because we have already put $237 into this product that appears to be a lemon. This is the last LG product of any kind that we will purchase. We also had a brand new $3000 refrigerator break down the first week we purchased it. Luckily that very expensive part was covered by the warranty at the time. So far, our LG Range is still working. We have lost all confidence in LG products and will not buy anything else from this company.

Our range is two years old. We purchased an extended warranty. A few months ago, I noticed rust spots on the front of the stainless steel oven door. LG is giving me the runaround on fixing this. The warranty does not cover cosmetic issues, so I had to, after 4 hours on the phone, deal with LG supervisors. I am in the process of waiting to hear if the oven door will be replaced at no cost to me. From what I learned on the internet, this is a common problem in the manufacture of stainless steel appliances, but the companies that sell them refuse to take responsibility for the issue and blame it on the consumer for not taking proper care of the product.

This is first time I had problem with washer and dryer. The washer is terrible smell like sewer while using and after use. The mold around the front end door creates black mold. Also the rubber gasket is not properly designed. As soon we bought the machine it leaked terribly wetting the whole wooden floor many times. We called the LG within 1 year warranty period. The repair men came and fixed it but it happened again. I have fix it on my own. BAD, BAD... BAD design and BAD machine. I will not anyone to buy this machine. There are many other brands in the market you want to consider but never ever LG washer. The dryer is takes longer than normal time other dryers will take. Worse machine. They should be stopped in the USA market completely unless they replace all the faulty machines or refund or correct the problems.

The control knobs can be slightly bumped and the gas is turned on! This has happened several times in with our LG range. We have to reach above to get to our above the range LG microwave and bump the control knobs. Usually we notice the smell of gas pretty quick however one night my husband cleaned the kitchen and went to bed. I came home later that night, after a long day of work/travel, to find my house filled with gas! My husband and daughter were both upstairs asleep but THANK GOD they were okay. My husband likely bumped the knob when cleaning or reaching in the microwave. The control knobs are completely unsafe and are seriously life threatening! LG needs to recall these! Something needs to be done! PLEASE.

Problem-2: I’m still trying to find how to contact LG.

On 3/21/20 my tenants discovered that their less-than 5-year-old LG refrigerator had stopped cooling and immediately notified us. They went online after being informed that due to the COVID-19 virus there was no one to help via phone or chat. Despite following all of the suggestions LG had on its website to help get the fridge cooling again nothing worked to correct the problem. My tenants tried repeatedly to call LG, as did my husband, but got the same message. After calling all over town our tenants were able to reach a repair facility, who informed them that the compressor had likely failed, since this is a common issue with LG fridges. Unfortunately, the repair facility wouldnt come out to help (we had all the necessary documents, including an extended warranty) because they werent sure if they were considered an essential business. They took my tenants contact info and said theyd let them know once they had a better idea of whether they were.. Meanwhile, my tenants, who have small children in the house, had no way to keep fresh food and milk for their family and ended up having to obtain a rental refrigerator to feed their family. Finally, after ordering the compressor and being allowed to go out to install it, the part was replaced on 4/2/2020.My husband continued to try and contact LG about this issue and to obtain a refund for the food and rental expenses. Finally, LG had an auto-answer that asked the caller to stay on the line, but that the hold time was exceptionally long. After staying on hold for over 45 minutes several times he was either transferred to people from another country that he couldnt understand, or they couldnt understand English, or that transferred him to another department which immediately disconnected the call hed been on for so long. This happened repeatedly and when he finally got someone who he could carry on a full conversation with and explain the issues, this person was no helpful at all and kept trying to tell him that we waited too long to request a refund!! All his calls were placed over the course of April and May, so when LG was at fault for not being available to even hear our issues, that was truly insulting.I finally started sending messages on LGs website and kept getting inane requests for various items (like the dates of every time we tried to email/call LG and why we didnt request the refund at that time...). The people I corresponded with: Christifien in the regular Customer Service department, Tori, Craig in the Presidential Escalations department (who responded to my separate messages to the President) all gave me the runaround and I had to keep sending messages to follow up, since they were hoping Id just go away... Last month I received a check in the amount of only $150.00 with no letter or apology or explanation, but this didnt even cover half of the expenses that were incurred (Id clearly noted in multiple emails/messages that over $300.00 was lost due to this: All the food in the defective LG fridge had to be thrown away at a cost of over $200.00 and then replaced, plus the cost of the rental).I sent another message to the President, stating how insulting it was to receive this amount; I finally received an email from Laiken **, Presidential Liaison who was very condescending about the whole thing; her entire email message is as follows: This is Laiken with LG. I am sorry to hear about your refrigerator issues. I have pulled up the case number, and I see your unit was down for less than a month. Due to that we cannot reimburse you for more that the $150.00 food loss you already received. As for the part, the account shows the unit was repaired under warranty at no cost to you, but if you did have to pay for the part or labor please send me a receipt for the parts/labor, and we can reimburse you for that. Unbelievable; she made it sound as if I was supposed to be grateful that they installed the defective part without charging me for it or the labor to install it, even though it was, as she admitted, still under warranty!! I sent an email back asking her if she seriously thought a rental appliance store would just give my tenants a refrigerator for free to use while they were frantically trying to get someone to come out and repair the useless refrigerator, not to mention the costs associated with having the loaner delivered and then picked up after the LG refrigerator was fixed. I asked her Put yourself in this position - would you feel like you were treated honestly and fairly? That email was sent to her on 8/25/2020 without any response from her, so Im assuming that she and the President feel that LG is just the poster child for honesty and fairness.... All I can do at this point is advise everyone I know to NEVER purchase one of its shoddy products. Seeing from the other posts how LG obviously knows about their defective compressors, yet does nothing about it, and to top it off lacks customer service skills of any sort, I can only hope that my post here will help people decide against ever doing business with this despicable company. As others stated, even one star is too high for this company!

My LG French Door refrigerator has broken down for the second time in the four years since purchase. The refrigerator was purchased in 2008. In 2010, the control panel failed. The cost to replace it was $400.00. Recently, the fridge developed a Freon leak. I contacted LG for a qualified repair person. The repair man told me that the fridge was indeed leaking Freon and it would cost $187.00 to determine where the leak was. He went on to say that if the leak was located in the bottom of the fridge, the repair cost would be between $300.00 to $500.00. If the leak was in the top part of the fridge, it would be unrepairable.LG, a Freon leak in a 4 year old fridge should not happen. Your company should replace this appliance. Im sure that you make quality products but my refrigerator is not one of them. Surely, you do not expect your customers to pay repair cost that total the purchase price for an appliance that is only 4 years old.

The buttons on the front do not always work and I have had to pull it out from the wall to unplug it and plug it back in to get them to work. It is very random and I have not been able to figure out a pattern of use that causes it to malfunction.I put in 3 service requests to have these repaired. Issue: The refrigerator (French door LFXS30766S) broke down on 7/4/2018, just couple days after two years warranty. Find out it’s “sealed system” issue and this is still covered by LG for five years. Called LG and reported the issue on 7/6/2018, they have created ticket and mentioned that they will find the technician and assign it. How many days since then? One month now. Technician is yet to come my home and look into issue. In between, I have called so many times to LG, each time their answer is standard, they are still trying to find the technician and escalating the ticket or creates new ticket, which is nothing but their excuse to tell customer to wait for 3-5 business days. I wonder why no technician wants to work with LG, whoever I talked to they either says they are two far away from my destination or they don’t work with LG. I have even asked LG if they can assign work order to “Sears home service” they are reliable and guarantee they will come, but LG says it is not possible for them to assign the work order to Sears. Why? No idea. After so many phone calls and many tickets where are we? Nowhere near the resolution. I wouldn’t recommend LG product anymore. Settlement that I am looking: LG assign reliable tech which I can count on or refund the money.

Purchased new refrigerator from RC Willey 18 months ago with our new house, have had an LG frontload washer and dryer for over 7 years without an issue. Fridge had great reviews and we really liked the door-in-door. Has worked flawlessly until yesterday. Found water all over the floor (luckily we found it quickly and cleaned it up, it would have eventually ruined our laminate floors (except I have not pulled out the fridge to check underneath). Checked with the manual and went through all the troubleshooting, nothing worked. Called customer service, and they quickly set-up a case number and scheduled a technician to come and see what is wrong. Had the service company call me the next day and confirm an appointment for the following day (Good so far, right? Except all of our frozen food is thawed. Luckily my wife is a florist and she has a floral cooler that we put our refrigerated items in). Two hours later the same person called back and said that they cant do the service call, they do not do LG warranty work. They would call LG and have them schedule someone else. Wanting to make sure that no-one dropped the ball, having no fridge/freezer is a major inconvenience, I called LG service back and asked if the cancellation had been taken care of and a new service company scheduled. It had not. The customer service person was apologetic and said that they needed to get an authorized service company scheduled to come service the refrigerator, because not all companies are equipped to handle cooling issues. Why wasnt this already figured into the request? The person also let me know that the service will hopefully get set up tomorrow (Friday 1/18/2019), and I should hear back next Monday or Tuesday. They gave me another case number. So I went back to the original text response I received from LG Customer Service, it indicated an authorized repair service located 68 miles away. Except I called them and they wont do any work on LG refrigerators without a work authorization code from LG. A cooling issue? They told me they arent equipped to work on LG cooling issues anyway. So then I started looking on-line to see if this was a common problem. Way too many nightmare customer service stories for an issue that is an obvious defect. I would not choose to be without a fridge/freezer for any length of time, and would want to replace it with another product quickly. Pretty disappointed in this product that was pretty expensive.

The technician told us the cause was freezing up in the tube that transferred cold air from the freezer to the fridge. He thawed everything out, and it worked okay till recently. I called for repair again for the same problem. Thanks to our old Kenmore in the basement which kicks the LGs **. Thank heaven we purchased an extended warranty. When I called this last time, I complained to the person I was talking to, saying I think we deserve a new fridge, her reply was we can extend our warranty. Give me a break. Reading these other complaints, I dont think a new LG would solve our problems. We would just get a new set of headaches. Needless to say, I will never purchase an LG product again, and would never recommend them to anyone!

The knobs are not safe just brushing against them just as other reviewers have said and you have gas leaking into your home-no safety lock position. The oven warms up to 500 degrees no matter where you set the temperature, I have burnt everything I put into this oven as I cannot calibrate to get a correct 350 degree which is at where most baking is done! There must be some website or news outlet to alert the public of this piece of junk produced by LG. Will not be buying nor recommending any product made by LG. I will be putting this on our Nextdoor website as there are lots of homes here in upper $$ that are buying and replacing appliances in their homes!

I want to tell you about the major issue and health problem with the top loading washer. I have been getting mold in my washer and on my clothes EVERY time I do a load of wash. This has been going on for months and it isnt going away. I run the clean cycle every few weeks hoping to keep the tub clean but it doesnt work. Ive run the clean cycle using a quart of bleach and then again using a quart of vinegar. The tub never drains properly and that is what is causing the mold. This is ridiculous and is a major health issue!!! Ive reported this to Consumer Affairs as well. This thing should be replaced immediately!!!

I purchased my washer in 2007 and have been pleased with using it. I am now getting a TE error and I cannot get anyone out that will fix it. I called 2 services and both of them will not even come out to work on it. I had another man come out today and said I need a mother board and he told me they no longer make them??? He said it could be the Thermistor and the part cost $40. Funny, I went online and the cost is $7.00. I have taken the machine apart myself and I am willing to put in my own thermistor but I cannot locate it or find someone at LG to help me. I have been told its in the front which I cannot reach and also told its on the top??? No one will even guarantee they can fix it. LG wants $125 just to come out and service it and there is no guarantee they will fix it. Never again will I purchase a LG.

I have put up with this, clean clothes that stink, for 2 or 3 years now! I am a fanatic about fresh smelling clothes, and clean clothes. When my older kids were in school, they received compliments about how clean and fresh their clothes smelled. Now I take the clothes out of the dryer and throw them in the re wash pile. Not only do they smell dirty, they smell musty! I am throwing money away on energy to rewash, which is senseless since the musty smell is still there! I use Tide laundry detergent, I use liquid Downy, and I use two scented Bounce sheets, sometimes with the Bounce bar in the dryer, as well, to no avail! The only time there is no smell is when I wash with bleach. Obviously I cant wash all my clothes in bleach. The drum doesnt smell. I dont leave them sitting in the washer, but they come out of the dryer, which is also Lg, a lovely matching set. The drum doesnt smell either. How can I explain this smell? My new Adidas jogging pants, for example, for some reason, the crotch has this musty smell, and now, guess what, my underwear now have the smell? How embarrassing is that?! I used to complain about my old, used top loader washer and dream of a front loader washer and a matching dryer. Now I just wish I had my old set back. My dream turned into a nightmare! Theres not much Im fussy about, but my laundry I am, and Im sorry, Im pissed!

Bought LG black stainless steel appliances. The microwave bottom melted since it has the cheapest plastic material underneath. It melted under standard cooking situation. Uninstalled it and took it back to Home Depot, waited about five days to hear from the Home Depot. Finally got a phone call from Home Depot and stated LG has declined to do anything since the damage happened from outside. I was offered by the store manager to give me a discount on my new microwave that I will buy. Other than that my $300 just flushed out. Its sad to see such a terrible product and service from a company like LG. They make billions of $ by ripping off from the poor. Now Im left without microwave and my $300. Never spend your money just by looking at its brand name. Knowing they have a name they use the cheapest product and plastic from China and charge the highest dollar amount. Terrible product. Im a mad and angry person right now.

A few years ago I purchased new appliances. A refrigerator, stove and over the range microwave. I had an appliance technician that LG had the fewest repair calls so I went with that company when purchasing. Well in the first year the microwave had to be repaired. The glass stop stove after a year and a half has 2 burners not working and now my refrigerator decided to stop working during the worst time possible. I called the warranty company and because of the pandemic they are not doing any house repairs. I was told to think out of the box or go buy a new one. Now I do have an old refrigerator in the garage but with 8 people living in my home that is not enough room, especially when we need to stock up so we dont go out as often. So for now I am SOL until the virus is over and repair people can start working again. I will NEVER BUY LG appliances again and tell all of our friends the same thing.

Bought a beautiful black stainless steel LG refrigerator for around $3500.0
Bought a beautiful black stainless steel LG refrigerator for around $3500.00 two years ago. I researched for six months before purchasing. I wanted the best I could afford since it has a pretty important job. I have a child with severe allergies so I needed a big fridge for her special food. We finally decided to get the biggest and best on the market. I read bad reviews on Samsung and good ones on LG. Now just two years later I join the millions of other dissatisfied LG customers who had their compressor completely go out and ruin food worth hundreds. To wait for an LG repairman is going to take weeks since there is only one and he, not surprisingly, is booked with other crappily made LG products. I got a refrigerator repairman to diagnose it yesterday, which I had to pay more fifty dollars more since it was a weekend. He told me that he sees nearly new LG refrigerator compressors go out often. He said that he put in a second new compressor in one month for his customer last week and the customer got him to help him haul his 3 year old LG refrigerator to the DUMP. We all need to start a class action lawsuit against LG since they are selling shoddy products and not standing behind them.

We purchased our new refrigerator along with an LG stove and microwave when
We purchased our new refrigerator along with an LG stove and microwave when we moved into our new home in 2016. Part of our decision was based on the experience we already had with our LG washer and dryer. Here we are now fighting issues with a refrigerator that should easily last 10+ years. If we had known previously about the compressor issues we would not have purchased this brand. Where are the lemon laws for refrigerators?Issue started with water on the floor and at first we thought the in-door ice maker was failing (more on this later), then two days later we noticed that ice cream was soft in the freezer and then a day later no cooling at all (by the way - all of this in the middle of COVID-19 quarantine and trying to make sure we had enough groceries on hand). It took approximately 1 1/2 weeks to get service on site for repair. The technician replaced the compressor and stated that the refrigerator would now run louder. Well, it was so loud we couldnt hear our tv in the next room without turning up the volume to almost maximum level.I pulled the refrigerator out and found that one of the copper tubes from the compressor was vibrating and rubbing on the rear cover. Called for service again to fix the noise issue. When he checked the refrigerator, he stated that he could find nothing wrong; however, he did release some of the coolant because he thought the compressor may have been overcharged and overheating. This seems to have resolved the noise issue. The in-door ice maker - noticed that after the compressor failed we now have water dripping intermittently out of the left hand door (the door with the ice maker). I mentioned this to service tech during his return visit and he said it was probably because I was leaving the door open too long and there was not enough cold air for the ice maker compartment. Ive had the refrigerator for not quite 4 years and never had this issue before - I dont think Ive changed how I use my refrigerator. This issue has not been resolved. We question how long the new compressor will last (4 years?). How much more electricity is the refrigerator using now as compared to before - seems to run a lot more now.

I purchased an LG refrigerator, double oven, dishwasher, cooktop, and built-in microwave from Home Depot in September 2010 (Along with all new cabinets, total spending was $30K; LG appliance spending was $5k.) After six months, the icemaker stopped producing ice; we called LG, and they replaced the icemaker promptly and at no additional cost. Six months later, the ice cube production started to slow; another six months passed, and ice production stopped. We called LG who directed us to an authorized service provider. The service provider came to the house, checked a few items, lowered the temperature, and turned off the energy saver button. I was charged $127.00. A month later, the service provider came back because the problem wasnt resolved and installed a new icemaker and circuit board. Problem is still not resolved. I called LG to make them aware of the continued failures of the service provider, and they set up a service call for me with their guy. Turns out, he wasnt their guy, and he wanted another $60.00. The problem had not been resolved, and I refused to pay. So, I called LG again while their guy was here (5th call in 2 months). I was once again told by LG it wasnt their problem, that I needed to pay the new service provider, and if I had any continued problems, contact either service provider (neither of which seems to be able to resolve the problem) and deal with them. Ive never been treated so callously and have sworn off LG forever. Please dont buy LG

LG WT4670CW Clothes Washer - This machine is alleged to be self balancing.
LG WT4670CW Clothes Washer - This machine is alleged to be self balancing. If it fails to spin in out of balance, it refills the tub, churns a bit and tries again. It may do this several times and not succeed. At which point it leaves it up to the user to shuffle clothes or remove clothes to continue. It is likely to fail again and go through additional cycles attempting to balance. This uses immense amounts of water and time. If it fails completely it may leave the tub full of water with no manual way of emptying it to start over. This machine is supposed to allow the washing of 10 pair of jeans or your bed spread or whatever. Good luck. This particular model is quite poorly designed. At something over $500 this item is a one year throwaway. We replaced an old front loading Gibson with this that was ten times the machine this is. We paid $100 bucks for it at a yard sale. I dont know about other LG models but this one is very poor.

We purchased an LG washer. I love the fact that without the middle paddle you can wash large items like king size spreads and comforters and all the clothes actually are treated more gently. I do not like buying new if the old is still working. Being able to get parts and having really good people who can and will work to keep the old model going. Regular repairs is a nightmare. Been there and done that, days without your appliance and you have to wash most days to keep the family in clean clothes and towels etc. Also low quality construction, which usually means noise pollution and the appliance walking all over the floor or pulling loose from the connections and the room being flooded. This LG washer that I bought was the same price as for the Maytag that I had purchased 20 years before. It is high quality construction, stays where it is supposed to when it spins. Large size drum that washes very small loads with much less soap and water, or very large items like winter coats, king size bedding, comforters, etc. One thing I do not like is that everything rinses in cold water no matter which setting you use, and I like to be able to decide what temperature I want for the wash cycle and the temperature I want for the rinse. But all in all, that is the only thing I do not like about these computer controlled washers.

LG will get sued when someone dies from a knob being turned on accidentally. I’m surprised it hasn’t already happened. It happens all the time. Especially when friends/family are over. How could LG think was a good design? Was there no testing? Were they 3 feet tall? Also the burner disc discolor and never clean up. The super burner stains on the silver and you can’t get it clean. We purchased a LG dishwasher model no. LDF8764ST ($800) four months ago and after using it ONCE, it stopped working and would not power on. I was not able to return the dishwasher where purchased and was informed that I had to deal directly with LG. I called LG and was scheduled a visit from a repairman. The repairman never showed up (took time off from work), so I again called LG. I was informed that the repairman had not received the ticket from LG. I indicated that since the product was defective (it worked once) and I was not comfortable risking taking another day off from work and having the repairman be a no-show again, that I would like the product either replaced or receive a refund. I was told that my only option was to reschedule the repairman. I declined and purchased a different dishwasher from another manufacturer that has worked like a charm since it was delivered/installed. Have a LG refrigerator that is 2 1/2 years old. Warranty for parts is ten years. It stopped working 9 days ago. Called LG and they referred me to A&E Factory Service. Called and made an appointment. Looked at Google reviews and 580 reviews and a 1.1 rating. Worst was do not let them in your house. They came out, ordered three parts, had to set another 4 hour window for an appointment. After 5 1/2 hours yesterday, he said it is working and left. Checked this morning and is still warm and now vibrates loudly. So now another five hours stuck at home tomorrow while they attempt to fix it. This company is who LG uses so when not if yours breaks but when this is who you will be dealing with. This will be a total of 15 hours waiting on them and over one hour on the phone with LG.This is an independent repair company who said almost all their calls are on LG refrigerators. LG has been a total waste of time dealing with. They truly could care less about me not having a refrigerator now for two weeks even if it is fixed tomorrow which there is ZERO chance of that happening. Talking to retailers because I am buying another refrigerator and certainly not LG. Salespeople confirm this is a common situation. Was referred to LG Executive Services who will not call me back. You have been warned. The repair company did state because of their known issues with repairs that I would get a one time free repair meaning would not have to pay for labor. If that is not a red flag.

I bought the double oven stove and unfortunately I did not use the stove until 9 months after the purchase. The stove is awful. It will burn you if you try to even come near the back of the stove top. It is very hard to clean, and that means the entire unit. The knobs are actually paper/tin which cracks and peels after just a little wear. The oven has never baked right. It burns everything on the bottom. Nothing I did corrected any of the problems.I have told everyone I know not to purchase this brand of stove, and will continue to tell the public about this lemon. To produce something so inferior and sell it to the public just shows that this company has no regard for customers and will sell junk. For me it was way too late to send this piece of junk back as by the time I used it warranty had passed. I tried to call this company and was told there was nothing they could do. Our LG washer was recalled, due to the agitator coming up out of the machine and injuring people. This happened apparently as a result of washing waterproof bedding. LG sent a repairman out, and he did nothing other than put a sticker on the washer that said not to wash waterproof items. This didnt work for us, as my little boy has asthma and needs his mattress covers washed. We proceeded to go shopping, possibly for another LG, but found that ALL LG washers have that warning. We ended up going for a different brand and I am glad we did because about 6 months later, our LG dryer started making this horrible clacking noise. Turned out the drier actually has a cracked drum.We called the LG company, and they said we had to have the receipt (from 4 years ago) or they cant help us. The manager actually hung up on me. We called the place that we got the dryer from, but they dont keep receipt records that long. We also tried our credit card company, and their records only go back to 2011. Stay far, far, away from any LG products. This company makes defective equipment, knows it, and then makes it impossible for you to meet their requirements for them to repair the defects. If you think you may want an LG device, please look at all the bad reviews and horror stories. It takes just a simple Google search.

DANGEROUS MICROWAVE! Not even a year old and some interior paint chipped after approx. 6 mos. of this brand new LG Microwave. It caused sparking and smelled like something was burning. It more than likely could have caught fire if I didnt catch it right away by pressing Stop on the control panel. There was exposed metal inside around the door area where the paint chipped. I didnt return it cause I lost the receipt (I have bank info cause I paid with my Debit Card). I never purchase insurance cause I have been ripped off so much with that. I cant afford to buy another microwave so I put some appliance paint on the chipped area let it dry overnight. It did work, however a few months later it chipped and again MORE SPARKING in a different area. Repeated the process with the appliance paint and again it worked. Shouldnt have to worry about this. I dont walk away when using this microwave cause its DANGEROUS!I was also unhappy with this LG Microwave due to it being LOUD, HARD TO SEE CONTROL PANEL, COOKS VERY HOT (OVERCOOKS USING THE CONTROL PANELS TIMED COOKING & TEMP eg... Potatoes, Popcorn etc. I did read reviews prior to purchasing and some of the issues can be overcome, however not the FIRE HAZARD ISSUE! I was surprised to see 4-5 star reviews. I decided to purchase it because I got a great deal on it. Had a rebate for it when I bought it. Also, other people had recommended LG to me. I like that it was high quality and lasted a long time. I had the fridge for almost 10 years. I really liked the capability to make ice and dispense water from the outside of the door and the freezer worked. Nothing that I specifically didnt like, it was a really good fridge. Theres not too much to complain about. It met my initial expectations.

I just purchased new LG appliances about 4 months ago. All are ok except the dishwasher. There are two main issues I continue to have. The bottom rack continues to come off track and it appears the design of the dishwasher does not have a large enough track to keep the wheels on track. I continue to have issues with the dishes not getting clean. If we do not pre-rinse the dishes completely, they will come out dirty with the residue dried on. I generally use the normal cycle, which takes 2 1/2 hours.I called customer service and was told that the normal cycle is designed to reach a temperature of 96 degrees and have a moderate spray intensity. The agent further explained that this is not a sufficient wash cycle to clean dishes unless they are completely pre-washed! She recommended using Power Scrub, a cycle that takes close to 3 hours, or adding in addition rinse cycles to The normal cycle. I am so disappointed that I spent over $700 on a dishwasher that is not designed to wash dishes! Please DO NOT make the same mistake.

I purchased an LG refrigerator with french doors and bottom freezer in April 2007 from Best Buy. Model #LFD22860TT and manufactured in Mexico in 2007. It had multiple problems ranging from the seals of the doors tearing, the clips to keep the doors closed breaking off, the digital panel on the left french door not displaying properly, the ice maker not turning off and, most recently (yesterday), I found the light bulbs in the fridge did not turn off.The heat of the light bulbs burned the casing. It melted the casing causing it to fall off. It was also warped, as was the top of the fridge. A lot of the food in the fridge was melted and spoiled. I called LG regarding the issues each time and was advised that they were not under warranty and would have to be replaced at my expense, except for this last light bulb problem.I called LG and they gave me the number of a local repairman to call and indicated they would pay for the repair caused by the lights. The repairman came the following day and advised that the unit could not be fixed back to looking new. He could replace the light fixture and the cover but that the cover would not be the same and would not fit properly. He was going to call LG to see if they could possibly replace the fridge since the problems couldnt be repaired. He will call me back once he has an answer.

Don’t buy LG appliances. The front of my LG range. The paint is chipping off the stainless steel. LG says this is not a manufacturer defect. After owing this for 6 months this is definitely a manufacturer issue. Don’t waste your money on LG or their very poor service. They expect me to pay $230 to replace the top.
