We purchased an LG door in door refrigerator, spent a lot of money! We havent had it for a year yet and we noticed a defect on the finish of the stainless on the control panel cover... its like corrosion... I had been contacting customer service for one month!!! I know this is cosmetic and would Not be covered under warranty. We were assigned a service center... and a tech came to our home and confirmed that it was a defect. And Would not be covered but that he had seen this before.I again contacted LG thinking they would stand behind there product. After being disconnected 4 times I finally talked to a Dahl she said she would send approval for replacement to the same service CO. I had come out... after 10 days and no contact, I started to contact all services involved. Basically I had been straight up lied to!! They never sent approval... denied that they had and said they WOULD NOT!!! This appliance is not even a year old. We spent $3100.00 on it and they wont stand behind a defective finish!! We are soooo disappointed I cant even say. So we have a huge under one year old item that looks like crap in my new kitchen!!! I would NEVER RECOMMEND LG TO ANYONE.THE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS AWFUL. Im helpful and frankly speaking a bunch of liars... 9 phone calls, hours of my time being disconnected for zero end result!!! Warning, unless you want an expensive piece of JUNK in youre kitchen... do not purchase an LG refrigerator!!!

On May 9, 2016, our five-year-old LG French Door Refrigerator had a failure on the Linear Compressor. Working with our maintenance agreement (American Homebuyers Protection Corp), LG agreed to send the Linear Compressor part (under warranty) to a contractor (Appliance Wizard) working with American Home Buyers who would then install the part under our maintenance agreement. To this date, June 2, 2016 - 24 days later, the part has not arrived. Numerous calls have been made by us, American Homebuyers Corp, and Appliance Wizard. LG Customer Service consistently refuses to answer questions regarding the parts arrival or to allow tracking. LG Customer Service flat out refuses to let us speak to a manager. After more than a week of living out of an ice cooler, we purchased a less expensive refrigerator (certainly NOT LG) in order to live life at home without eating out or living out of ice cooler.LG has shown they do not care about their customers. Allowing a customer to go nearly a month without facilitating possible repairs is negligent beyond words and fraudulent under a warranty. Refusal to allow the customer or others who are working with that customer to determine the status of the repair (in this case - has the part been ordered as stated and if so, where is the part?) indicated LG should not be in the business requiring customer service. To say we are frustrated is just a pebble thrown into a large lake. Where is our recourse? At this point, we are not confident we will ever receive this warranted part! Posting on Facebook - writing this review - we will NEVER buy another LG Product. LG is a disreputable company. Be Aware!

My LG washing machines turbo drums sensor is fixed to holding the door of the machine. Since it is in frequent use, the sensor gets damaged and rusted due to frequent water contact. In the last two years, I have changed the sensor twice. This is the biggest fault that your machine has. Because of this, we will not prefer LG machine in the future. Please change the place of fixing the sensor in LG washing machines.

I bought a LG refrigerator for $2500 from Best Buy on Route 1 Iselin, New Jersey. Within 5 years the refrigerator stopped working and the customer service provided a local LG Dealership numbers, where I had to call and schedule a service repair at my expense and the technician came in checked and advised that the compressor was broken, and I had replace the compressor at my OWN expense even though the compressor was still under warranty. LG did not take any responsibility for the warranty coverage they owed. Now, its been 4 years. Again the LG compressor is broken. Having such bad experience with LG, I am afraid to call the LG customer service again. Same story repeats again.... SHAME SHAME SHAME ON LG customer service... I would not even give one star if I has choice.

The refrigerator was ordered at Home Depot. I was contacted by LG directly that the product was on backorder and that they would not meet the delivery time frame. Two weeks later they called again to state that the specific refrigerator that I ordered was not available and discontinued. The offered a different refrigerator that did not meet the size specifications that were most important to me. When I stated the three specs that were mandatory to me - they basically said - This is what we can offer and thats it. They did not offer any other options. POOR customer service and even though they upgraded with one option that I did NOT want (wi-fi) the size is smaller, the product is disappointing. The refrigerator will either freeze produce or it turns to rubber. It does not maintain the quality of refrigerated products. I will not order another LG product as a result. The filter also only lasts 4 months - before having to be replaced. Freezer items get frostburn and ruins the quality of the product.

LG gave an approval authorization for an LG tech to come out since the issues related to the recent software update and I did not purchase an extended warranty. Robert the tech was punctural and very receptive to my issues. He was able to punch out my dented front exterior and the rotor and stator was replaced with brand new ones. So far I have done 4 loads of wash and the machine performs as new! Lesson learned- always request an LG Tech when your seeking service. I dont think Sears, Home Depot , Lowes or HH Gregg should be blamed for any mechanical issues. The only thing these distributors are guilty of is having the latest and greatest appliances for sale. My next washer purchase will not be an HE though. I will buy a standard Speed Queen if they are still available when that time comes- for I have read down the road, the government may mandate HE only for residential consumers. Lets hope not!

When you pay $3000 for a refrigerator, you do NOT expect it to break down within two years... I bought the LG LFXC24726S at Mrs G in July 2015. In July 2017 the refrigerator stopped cooling, no ice or no water. Even with the extended warranty it was two weeks before svc was available... The day of svc... The svc man could not move the refrigerator to put the part in... And now they want $120.00 extra to send a second guy to help the one guy to move the refrigerator. What nonsense! The refrig should not have broken DOWN!!! LG doesnt own it. Mrs G doesnt own it... Jersey Appliance service doesnt own it. I have a BROKEN UNREPAIRED $3000.00 LG refrigerator that is only TWO YEARS old.

Purchased appliance 7/06/2017 from Lowes. When bending near dials on front of range, they turn on easily at one time causing plastic on burner to melt & stick. Unable to remove since burned into top of range surface. Would be better styled with 1 large burner & 1 small burner in front & same in back of surface. In order to use small burner, dial easily turns on. This range compared to my other range, seems to splash oil more around surface. Must keep lid partially on cooking pan so as not to have this occur. One 10/21/18 called company due to right front burner not cycling down. My 1 yr. guarantee ran out few days before. Company sent repairman at no cost to me on 10/23/18 since guarantee just ran out. This was truly appreciated by me. I also made mistake ordering this style of range since it was not self-cleaning. Very upset with myself since I have disability make it difficult to bend down for long length of time to clean it myself. My wish is that dials should be at back of range & burners in different positions on surface. This would also would be a safety factor for small children in home.

I purchased an LG $2800 refrigerator in 2015. 4 weeks ago when I was out of state, the refrigerator failed. The compressor went out and all my food was spoiled. Worse than even this is the ridiculous treatment I have had with LG in trying to get it fixed under warranty. My first call resulted in a transfer to a repair shop who said, We dont have anyone to help you today. I tried to make an appointment and they said, No appointments. Just call back some day. I called LG again and they said find someone to fix it and once they diagnose the problem LG will send the parts. OK, done! But wait... Called LG and they said they would expedite the order and sent the repair shop the parts. Called again when there was no info sent to the shop, Oh, sorry will send it now... Called the next day, Oh we dont have a full address, called the next day, Oh sorry it takes 6 days to expedite, not sure why no one told you... Called again, Should be able to expedite tomorrow, we will call you. I have stepped up the calling process to 2x per day but suffice it to say my refrigerator went out 4 weeks ago and I dont have it fixed. I am convinced they do this so that they do not have to warrant the product!

I have an LG refrigerator that has a sealed system problem, and still within the 7 years warranty. I had both Sears and LG serviceman telling me its not repairable. I just got a call from LG that they will prorate and give me $333. Thats nonsense. The user guide says, Your LG refrigerator will be repaired or replaced at LGs option... It doesnt tell me anywhere in here that it will be prorated and I get less money than what I paid Sears ($294.24) and LG ($89.00) for determining the issue. I had Sears to checkout the refrigerator and 3 trips, they determined the leak is from the cabinet. They said I have to go to LG. I called LG and they said they wont take Sears word and documentation, and I have to get an LG repairman to come and look at it. The LG guy showed up and told me yep, thats it. Not repairable and should be replaced by LG. LG called me today and they are going to give me less than what I paid to tell them the sealed system that has 7-year warranty is bad. Do not buy LG if thats how they stand behind their warranty.

We are an LG household. Washer, dryer, and refrigerators. Our main kitchen refrigerator, a 2016 model, stopped working in July 2019. First failure. LG send out their authorized repair technician who came and changed the compressor. It worked for about 2 weeks and died. That was the second failure. LG sent out another technician who said the previous technician had done an incomplete repair, he said he completed it, and left. The refrigerator worked for a few more days, then died again. That was the third failure. The fridge has now been non-functional for over a week, and the repairman is not scheduled to come for another week. It is not good to send repairmen who are unable to perform a satisfactory repair the first time around, not to speak of the extreme inconvenience of losing three refrigerators worth of food (from three failures in the span of a month). Looking back, I would have much preferred a replacement machine after the first machine failed, or a refund after the second failure. We are now on the third failure and not thinking good thoughts of the LG refrigerator company.

I bought an LG refrigerator 2 years ago for ~$3,000. Model LFX31945ST. This week it went out. Luckily I bought an extended warranty and called for repair. In speaking to the manufacturers technicians the ice and air circulation fans go out all the time and have to be replaced. So the technician that was ordered by my extended warranty claim came out and did not replace the fan (did not have the part) even though the error code that diagnoses the problem was clear to them. They cannot get the part a week to 10 days from now. So my food is spoiled (have a $250 food spoilage coverage) which will replace about 10-25% of the spoiled food and I will have waited 2 weeks without a refrigerator because even though they know this part is likely to go bad -no technician carries it. I will not buy another LG product but I made the mistake of buying an LG washer and dryer and I probably wont have long to wait until they go bad also.

I bought LG Refrigerator Model #LFX31925ST about a year ago and all of a sudden it started making this irritating noise that is coming from around the bottom of the fridge. After making so many complaints to LG explaining to them about my problem they were telling me that the fridge was not sitting on a level floor. Making a long story short after a long battle with LG they finally send a technician to fix my problem. He told me to take all the food out of the freezer and he removed the panel that was covering the fan and replaced it with a panel that has a heater. When I asked him why he admitted to me about the design flawed where the fan builds ice and thats where the noise was coming from. He said the new panel has a built in heater so it will not build ice and that he is going around and changing this panel for customers who complain about this problem. For LG not to admit this problem and giving me the run around for more than a year was unacceptable. Had I not bought the extended warranty they would have not bothered to even do anything about it. This is being disingenuous and unfair business practice. So if you have noise problem call LG and ask them straightforward to come and change the panel regardless it being out of warranty or not. Sad but true!

I am the owner of a 2 year old LG French door refrigerator that failed over
I am the owner of a 2 year old LG French door refrigerator that failed over Thanksgiving. Being it was the holidays, I took to dealing with the matter immediately by contacting LGs customer service department. In the initial conversation, we determined that the issue was likely the compressor, which if true, would be covered under warranty. Learning that an authorized technician was needed to service the appliance I was then given a phone number to a local service dealer in the Scottsdale area. This company did not return my call but, I was able to get through the week after Thanksgiving. They told me that they had only one technician on staff authorized and he was out of town for 3 weeks. This was not acceptable being the holidays and the fact that we had a full house.Through my own inquiry, I found one repair service willing to work on LG appliances... most would not because they have a pretty bad reputation it appears. The only issue, was that we needed to have him authorized. This I was able to begin through a chat with a member of the LG customer service department, however, the authorization was never put forward I was to discover. This required another online chat, some apologies and eventually a successful authorization for my serviceman. Now able to open the back of the appliance, indeed it was discovered to be an issue with leaking coolant and a faulty part (parts). Now began the test of getting the parts (under warranty) ordered and delivered to my repairman. The part was ordered and we waited. I requested that someone contact me to let me know when it would arrive. This was wishful thinking. I opened another chat to see where the part was and the LG agent could not find any information and asked for a PON number which I did not have. He said perhaps the part was on back order. To shorten a very long litany of my technician and myself spending hours of precious time getting the runaround with (excuse me) a very incompetent customer service system; my repairman was told after many conversations with the parts dept., that 30 day deadline was expired and we have to start all over again. So another chat last week resulted in a request for authorization again and I was told a rush request would be made for second authorization. I was also again promised that the agent would keep me posted. Yea right. Having no fridge for the holidays with a houseful of family is frustrating in and of itself and 2K plus fridge should not fail in just two years; add a complete run-around by the folks we trusted with hard earned money with their brand over many other choices on the market, to simply supply a part and authorize and repair completely beside myself. All I need is a warrantied part, a second authorization (since time expired because of LG inefficiency), an LG customer service person who will see the process through and an attempt by LG to stand by its motto; life is good. I believe all agree that those requests are reasonable. To date I have had 6 chats average 40 minutes each, three long phone calls, a long wait for the supervisor but disconnected after 20 minutes, 4 letter submissions and a technician about to give up because of time lost from numerous calls to the parts department and total frustration. The fridge failed 11-24-16 and todays date is 1-13-17 and zero success. If anyone knows of a way I can pressure these people for one or two damned parts; (that my service guy could have fixed it in one hour two months ago) please let me know.

On April 2012, we purchased an LG over-the-stove microwave Model LMH2016ST for $320. The warranty was only good for one year but we thought we were buying a good product so went ahead and purchased it. On August 2015, the Primary Interlock Switch on the door broke so we called a recommended appliance repairman who replaced it for a total of $170.75. The same switch broke again on February 2016, one year later, and the same repairman told us he has to order a new part and this will cost another $170.75. I called LG Company and registered a complaint about this happening twice and they told me I should have paid attention to the one year warranty at the time of purchase. They do not stand behind their products. We will not repair this microwave because we have already put $237 into this product that appears to be a lemon. This is the last LG product of any kind that we will purchase. We also had a brand new $3000 refrigerator break down the first week we purchased it. Luckily that very expensive part was covered by the warranty at the time. So far, our LG Range is still working. We have lost all confidence in LG products and will not buy anything else from this company.

I found this site while researching LG FL washers. I have had an LG WM2010CW washer for years now. I went through the mold issue and solved it with common sense. Im not disparaging anyone here with mold issues but these suggestions fixed my issue which was minor in comparison.Clean out the filter at the bottom of the machine; then run a clean cycle with a cup of vinegar. Pour it into the dispenser for detergent, not the bleach dispenser. When the cycle is done, re-clean the filter and wipe out interior with vinegar. Get out the goop manually. Remove the dispenser drawer and wipe out the entire compartment with vinegar. Allow to air dry overnight leaving out the drawer. Replace the drawer and run a rinse to remove the vinegar. Quit using fabric softener or dryer sheets and switch to an unscented powder detergent. You need to be able to smell the machine. Use 2 tbsp. per load for moderate water, 1 if your water is soft. Adjust up or down as needed from there. Fill the softener compartment with white vinegar. Run an extra rinse on every load to work on the buildup. If you are using scented detergent and its still strong-smelling after the cycle, it isnt rinsing out. To monitor rinsing, add a gallon of water through dispenser drawer during rinse cycle, or more if needed, to see water. If detergent isnt rinsing out, either the oil or dirt is in your clothes. Do this for a month or so as every load of clothes will be reintroducing mold to your machine. Fabric softener is made from animal fat and will get rancid and breed mold. It also leaves fatty, greasy residue on your clothes that detergent must cut through. Detergents are alkaline so the mold in your washer needs that environment. The vinegar is a mild acid. Once your washer is back to normal and you have detergent dosage worked out, use a max of a tbsp. of softener or mix softener (50/50) with vinegar. The clean cycle on your washer is for maintenance. It isnt designed to eradicate a major problem. It took awhile for the machine to get in such bad shape and it will take time to fix it.

Lack of an agitator may or may not be the cause, but this device twists items deposited into a ball and finishes with a big question as to what, if any, items were thoroughly cleaned. The initial jiggling of items in such small water appears to be a designers mental excursion with little reality involved. The standard setting muddles items in a VERY LOW LEVEL of highly-concentrated dirty water due to the water-saver nature of the device. Whatever happened to good cleaning? OR is water so expensive that we should settle for less-clean clothing. Weve owned washers and dryers for 54 years and have never experienced any worth these words. Enough said?

The compressor on our refrigerator died in less than three years - a common problem we learned about after the fact. Prior to the compressor failing, we noticed the once beautiful black stainless finish was chipping and delaminating on the corners of the French doors. None of this was expected, nor is it considered acceptable based on the price. To LGs credit, it obviously recognized the poor quality of its compressors as evidenced by the fact it extended the warranty. So our compressor was replaced at no expense to us. Its much noisier than before, but seems to be working well. It wasnt fun being without our $3,200 refrigerator for three weeks. Its proof that you dont always get what you pay for, that reviews by users cant be trusted, and that anticipated reliability assessed by a leading consumer magazine is not accurate.

My LG black stainless steel refrigerator all of the paint is chipping off - not a year old yet. I am very disappointed in this product and would like my money back for all because I feel the others will start chipping as well. They have already replaced two drawers on the ref. and now the French doors are chipping. I am very dissatisfied with LG black stainless steel. I still need to buy the dishwasher and the washer and dryer but I am afraid that all of the paint will chip off of those as well. Would not recommend LG black stainless steel to anyone.

I have read through almost every comment on here and have to agree with how dissatisfied I am and what a disappointment these machines are. Class action suit please! I have the squeaky tub and mildew/musty smell I cant get rid of. Additionally, hot water is non-existent. It seems in my machine and I cant seem to select Sanitize no matter what I press. Oh, and bleach? I cant tell you how many loads of clothes have been ruined because the bleach does not fully wash out of the dispenser in one wash. It leaks into other loads afterwards.Seriously, a class-action suit needs to be started. How is it that a company / product has so many widespread complaints and concerns with mostly nothing being done about these problems and yet are still able to market their products without any consequences? Lastly, Sandy who has commented on this page is obviously affiliated with LG. I could go on and on with many valid points decimating her comments, but suffice it to say that a washing machine that you have to baby to keep running is a piece of garbage.

I purchased my washer 7/17/2014. On or about 3 weeks ago I noticed a little puddle of water on the floor. I didnt think much about it, then the next day I was washing a load of clothes, and the little puddle became a flood. I called Lowes, Moreno Valley, California where I purchased the machine, and told my salesperson what had happened. he stated, Lets just bring out a new one. That sounded like a good idea since the machine was less than 2 months old. Then I was told, We have to have a tech come out and see what the problem is, before we can do an exchange. Ok, well the tech was scheduled for the next week. I work, so I had to arrange for someone to be at my house for the tech. (in the meantime - Lowes did send out a loaner machine, I have to do laundry. So the tech came out, and because the machine was not hooked up, he said he couldnt do anything and Lowes would have to have someone come and put the washer back in the laundry room. I called and spoke with my salesperson. So now they are going to send another tech out and will have their people come and hook up the washer. The men that came out and took the loaner away and put my washer in the laundry room, managed to put a scratch on the front of my washer. The next day the tech arrives, he tells me there is a hole in the pump, and he will have to order the part. I call Lowes, and am once again told that they will send out a loaner until my washer can be repaired, so here it is Friday 3 weeks later, no washer, and told that Lowes will have someone come out and paint the scratch. First the manager said he would knock of 10% of what I paid for the machine. Is he crazy? I had a new machine, looks like a used one. My complaint is with both LG and Lowes. Both places have given me the runaround, and the worst customer service.

Purchased the Refrigerator in October-2016 after we flooded. The refrigerator stayed in its box that it was delivered in until December 2016 when it was installed. In April-2019 the refrigerator quit cooling and we lost all of the food that was in the refrigerator. We called and reported it to the company and made an appointment for someone to come and look at it. No one showed up for the day we set the appointment in which my wife stayed home the entire day waiting on.We called that evening or the next day and was told it would be the next week before someone came out because the part wasn’t in. The question at that time was what part was ordered because no one had been out yet to see what was wrong with it. Someone did show up the next week and changed the compressor out. Since then the refrigerator makes a loud noise when the compressor kicks on. We have called back about the noise and someone came back and looked at it and thought he fixed it. It still makes the loud noise and we have called again but no one has come out to look at it again.

Updated on 02/14/2021: I posted a review on 12/19/20, at which time my microwave had been dead for two months. LG responded by asking me to send details by private message. I did that on 12/20/20. They did not reply, respond, or take any action. LGs second repair attempt (on this, the third time the unit has failed) broke what few remaining features (fan, light, clock) still worked. Costco has been trying for the last two weeks to get LG to replace the unit. They are getting what I got: no response, untruths, failure to call back when they promised. LG customer service is non-existent. This Friday will be three months since it broke. They do not contend that I am at fault in any way. They just wont do anything.Original Review: We bought a microwave from Costco as part of a $4000 kitchen appliance package. It has died three times in the year and a half since purchase. This third time (November 19), the part needed to repair it no longer exists. Despite that, Im getting a complete runaround from LG customer service, repeatedly being promised call-backs that never happen, 20+ minute hold times, and hours wasted on the phone. At this point, I am promised a call by December 28. Ill believe it when it happens.

I placed calls to LG to arrange for my 3 year old refrigerator to have a new compressor installed. I had a local company confirm this was the reason for the breakdown. The first call at the beginning of the year did not ever end up with a response or resolution (someone was supposed to contact me). I waited several months and contacted LG again. The support desk had me upload all of my warranty information to their site through a provided link. Again, I was assured that someone would contact me to arrange this repair within a short period of time. Again, this did not ever occur.Today, almost a year later, I have purchased a new appliance because keeping my food in a cooler for 10 months was not an option. I have posted the fridge for scrap on Kijiji and a local person responded within an hour to remove it from my home. Too bad that LG couldnt have responded as efficiently. A lot of wasted money in both purchase price and time trying to resolve/arrange the warranty. My questions are these. How is it that a manufacturer is not held accountable for failure to provide what they are legally responsible for? What recourse is there when this process fails? At what point does one give up because they have spent hours and hours trying to get the warranty service? Like many Canadians, I am a working individual and dont have endless hours to dedicate to continued follow-up. Appliances are expensive purchases yet there seems to be no process where the companies are made responsible for providing the warranty coverage they espouse. My hope is that this changes in the future.

Purchased an LG refrigerator from Best Buy 2 years ago. Refrigerator stopped working a week and a half ago. LG ran a diagnostic over the phone and determined the compressor went out. LG has a 10 year warranty on their compressors (along with the warranty we purchased) but refused to fix the refrigerator if we didnt pay $298 for a service call and compressor replacement. Despite our push back because of the warranty, LG stated thats how it works and continued to refuse service without up front payment. We regrettably paid the money last week. LG has since then given us the runaround. Customer service and customer resolution is awful. They offer no resolution and not only made it our responsibility to call repair companies from a list they gave us but lied to us twice telling us that each of the repairmen who showed up would have the compressor and fix our refrigerator. So now LG has our money and we are continuing to keep our daughters milk in an ice chest while we have a broken refrigerator. I cannot express in enough detail how horrible LGs customer service is. Bought LG washer and dryer just over 6 years ago. Had no problems till today when the dryer started to thump. I am a retired millwright-machinist and have repaired washers and dryers as part of my job for years in a large hospital. I took the dryer apart to discover the drum was cracked on the welded seam. My extended warranty ran out in March. Called the Warranty Department at LG and was told they never heard of such a thing and could not help me (I did tell them that there were hundreds of similar complaints on the internet). Called the local service company and was told a service call would be about $300 plus parts. They couldnt understand I already had it apart.I called another company and was told that I could buy a new drum for $133.58 but the drum was back east and it would take several weeks to have it shipped here, so I will weld the drum for now and order it at a later date. Not happy. The washer has performed O.K. but has a funky smell if you keep the door shut. We wash and dry about 4 loads per week so its not abused. Will not buy another LG.

I have been reasonably satisfied with the refrigerator itself. The icemaker is not all that great but that seems to be a common characteristic in most residential refrigerator/freezers with an icemaker. I had the refrigerator approximately two years and the compressor started going out intermittently. It took a week or so for a technician to come and look at it but they did come and look at it and seemed to fix it, although they did not replace the compressor at that time (which is a problem that LG knows about ).Six months later (May of this year) it completely went out on us. And this happened two days before our vacation. It took them ultimately three weeks to come and fix the refrigerator and my children were at home with no refrigerator. We lost approximately $500 in food, with a inadequate food reimbursement of $150. That felt a little bit like a slap in the face after all the problems we had gone through to get the refrigerator repaired. We went through three different technician appointments and the local repair company was both unresponsive and incompetent. When LG was contacted directly, they promised to help but offered no real help in getting our refrigerator repaired sooner. I own several different LG products and I certainly will do more research and be more careful about buying LG products in the future, no longer just taking for granted That their products are of the quality that I would normally expect from LG.

The knobs on the LG gas range will turn on just by reaching over the stove to get something and turning to walk away. They turn past lite and fill your house with gas. You barely touch them and they do this. This is very dangerous. I have come home 3 times in the last year with my house filled with gas. My elderly mother took a pan off the stove to wash it and then went to the living room not noticing the smell. I came home and nearly passed out when I walked to the kitchen. I see that there are many reviews with this same issue. I have called LG and they keep trying to send a technician. I have explained its not a technical issue. Is a very poor design. They will have their safety team call me within 24 hours. I think something needs done about this. People are or probably already have been killed. They certainly have to be aware of this with all the reviews I have read. Next step is to go to the News and do a demonstration so people will be aware and not purchase from this company. I purchased a $3,000 refrigerator from LG. It looks beautiful. From the first month, I have had nothing but problems. I was so glad I bought extended warranty. Unfortunately, the warranty is useless because even the replacements become problems within a few months. This company has extremely poor quality products and extremely poor customer service. I have had an ongoing issue with mold growing on the inside of a piece of plastic on the front of the shelves. The company, without even coming out, told me it was not their problem. The company repairman came out to repair the perpetually broken ice-maker and told me the black line was due to inferior quality Korean plastic. He said it would only come back so he couldnt replace it. Then came an odor which would not go away even though my fridge was immaculate. This odor then took over the ice and water and even with the replacement, the water and ice are unusable because of the taste. The mold has to be coming from within the plastic. I have broken this plastic front piece due to putting Clorox on it every few months. But it continues to grow back. This is a potential health risk. The company refuses to even replace the piece of plastic that had to be pried apart in order to put Clorox in the mold. This is not normal, especially since there is nothing in my fridge most of the time. Be very careful and check this company out before purchasing. I have spent so much time waiting for repairmen only to have them tell me that the problems are not under warranty or that it is something not repairable.

Washer wt 1101cw - This washer is constantly out of balance, I have to watch every load which I realized were taking 4 hours or more to do one load, my water consumption has doubled for my home since January of 2014 and it keeps my septic drain field constantly wet even in the heat of summer. Further they have told me there is nothing they will do to fix this problem, in fact his words to me is This shouldnt be a problem mamma. So this is the worst washer I have ever purchased and would never recommend it.

LG model LRG3081St gas oven preheats to 500 degrees when set on 350. Purchased this range from Lowes and they have been good to work with and have had their repairman to our home 2 times. The control board and temperature probe have been replaced but still over-preheats. In order to use oven I have to open door and try to manipulate the controls to keep at 350. The last repairman called LG Tech support and LG said that we will just have to wait 25-30 minutes to achieve the temp. of 350 as the oven has to settle into the right temp. Lowes appliance Dept. manager said that is ridiculous and I agree. I should not have to wait 30 minutes before using my oven. Still trying get LG to to respond--I want a refund my money. Also burners on stove top are always looking dirty and discolored.

My experience with LG started 6-7 years with an entire line of appliances. Thus far, the microwave has been repaired once, the dishwasher was repaired once then broke again and had to be replaced, the oven has been repaired twice and now the fridge has gone out. Repairman coming today, but looks like the compressor is bad, so likely buying a new fridge this afternoon. On top of that, the LG TV I bought about 2.5 years ago went out back in the winter and had to be replaced. The washer and dryer are still doing fine, but they are the exception. Great products at first, but reliability is non-existent. LG will never get another penny of my money and I suggest you do the same unless you just have spare cash to burn. They are a joke!

I bought a refrigerator with an LG compressor in it in September of 2016. Two days ago it stopped working. I looked at the warranty, parts are covered for 1 year and the compressor is covered for 10 years. After I had a tech out to look at the problem the total cost to repair the fridge was $850 which included a free compressor that was covered under the warranty. The issue was all of the other parts that were damaged by the oil leaking out of the faulty compressor are not covered under the parts warranty. This is a total scam by LG who made inferior products. The tech told me the replacement would be the compressor that just broke and I would be back in the same spot 2-3 years from now. Does LG think 2-3 year for a refrigerator is a normal life span??

Model Lfxs30766d Manufactured October 2015 - failed compressor 3 times in 2019. The first repair lasted 4 days, the second repair lasted 6 days. The authorized technician told us this happens all the time with this type of LG fridge. There is no way we are going through the repair charade one more time. Holidays are here and all we have is a mini fridge. Weve wasted many hours dealing with the previous repairs and clean up (the technician is only available during workdays so Ive had to miss work four times so far). Weve also thrown hundreds of dollars of good food away. The water that dripped and pooled from the ice maker three times has warped and damaged our newly refinished hardwood kitchen floor. LG should stop selling these fridges - in fact shouldnt even give these away. At a minimum, we want LG to pay us for a new equivalent (non LG) fridge and for repair of our hardwood floors.

We purchased brand new LG washer and dryer. After install on the very first wash cycle I heard an unusual sound only to find water pouring over our entire newly remodeled laundry room. The washer had a cracked hose in the internal compartment. We have spent many hours and many attempts to resolve this issue with LG. They have been very difficult to work with. Service people do not want to repair their machines so we are on week three with no ability to wash clothes after purchase of a new washer. LG has refused to replace the machine even though it was defective from the start. Save your time and especially money and DO NOT purchase from LG!!! I could not say it enough. They should not be in business as they do not know how to manage issues after purchase. Furthermore, they do not have a product worth purchasing.

Has been a good product overall. Some of the plastic parts have broken - cheaply made - but otherwise reliable. Has held up well over the last several years but at around 10 years starting to show some wear on the drum suspension from what I can tell. Guess most washers are only made to last at most 10 years. Then when a repairman came to see why it was shaking more than usual would probably be more prudent to buy a new washer than have the old one fixed.

Was given phone number, after a 45 min. wait, to a TV repair business. What a joke. This morning we smelled burning electrical odor. My husband removed back cover and sparks were shooting out and wires had already melted. Imagine if we had gone to work or been on vacation?! Total hazard. Repair people came to fix the problem. However it is still not fixed and washer is leaking and ruined our new wood floor in the process. I wanted a refund for a washer and dryer we purchased less than a year ago to purchase new and a different brand because we continue to have issues with it. Customer service was not helpful and said they don’t do refunds and that someone from repair has to state it is defective. As a full time teacher it is hard to find time to keep having people come to repair it and only to have different issues with it.

Our LG LFXS24623 fridge experienced a compressor failure at 2 years after purchase. LG shows a 10 year warranty on the compressor however that is on the parts ONLY. I spent $400 for a Sears tech to install the free part. According to the tech he is replacing compressors on LG fridges constantly and there is a class action lawsuit against LG for compressor failures. In addition to the compressor issues, the ice maker is faulty and requires constant fidgeting to make it work. This is another known issue on LG products. The only thing worse than the design/build quality on LG appliances is their customer service. They are in some foreign country, they read off a script, are extremely unhelpful, will not pass you to a supervisor on request, etc. Life is definitely NOT GOOD with LG.

I purchased a new LG Range and LG Microwave in April 2019 -installed in May 2019. In October of 2019 the Magnetron and motor fan failed and needed replaced. This was serviced and covered by LG. Now come November of 2020. The motor fan and magnetron is failing again... Was on phone with LG for over an hour explaining that this should not happen in a microwave AGAIN in the short amount of time that Ive had it. LG will not do ANYTHING since its out of my warranty period. After a very lengthy conversation with a manager- they agreed to cover the Magnetron part only (then to find out by a service company that these are covered for 8 years regardless). No help on service fee or the fan part being paid for either. The quote to get this fixed is higher than the cost of a new microwave. Very disappointed. My very cheap microwave before I bought this one lasted 10 years. What gives LG? Dont make customers beg and plead for help on a failing product. There is NO way this microwave should fail this quickly. I believe I received a defective product from the beginning. So frustrating.

Compressors failing after 2 years. I really regret buying this fridge when we renoed the kitchen. My old one is in the garage with zero issues after 12 years.

We purchased LG washer WT5070VC and LG dryer DLEX5170W in November 2012. Total cost new at Home Depot was $1400. They are both broken and cost of repair is $700. I contacted LG this morning and spent three hours on the phone with them. They did several diagnostic tests over the phone. They offered nothing. They did try to set me up with a local repairman and could not find one. We contacted Home Depot on our own and paid $97 for their diagnostician to come out. His price for repairs is the $700 mentioned above for a washing machine clutch and assembly as well as the dryer vent blower. These are both minor repairs and will still have this gross total to fix. Will never purchase LG again and plan to discourage others from buying as well. If there is anything I can do to further contact LG, please let me know. I have sent an email to their customer service dept following my phone call with customer service and diagnostics this morning.

After two years, our LG dishwasher stopped pumping out the water after washing. Upon calling LG customer service, after having to pre-pay an expensive repair bill, they sent a technician to our home to repair the machine. We are now on our fifth visit and the machine is still not repaired. The repair person just took the new parts, put them in the machine, slid the machine back into the cabinet and left, never to return to complete the job.The machines quality is poor, parts difficult to get, and service totally incompetent. Avoid this companys products at all costs. They are over priced, do not last, and are difficult to get repaired. We also own an LG refrigerator and after one year, the ice maker/water dispenser system totally failed. We are talking about a two thousand five hundred dollar refrigerator. After about a year our refrigerator quit working and a repair person was sent out to fix. They repaired and after a month it quit working again. They returned and replaced the compressor. Were told having problems with new compressors but yet they replace with same bad compressors. My friend has had the same issues and they came and replaced her compressor and all the internal parts, will see how long that last. Fast forward January 16, 2020. Woke up this morning and water leaking and our refrigerator is not working. Once again all our food in freezer and fridge are no good. So disappointed in this product, it has never kept our food cold like it should. You try calling customer service and they answer Lifes Good (not) and you get robot CLARK, who says you can talk to him like a person. Last thing you want to hear when you are so angry. They never let you talk to a real person but instead they send you a text for you to complete and to have someone call you back in a day. Will see how long it takes for them to call. So frustrating! I bought an LG refrigerator 1 Year and a half ago. It started to make a noise like a plane about to take off. I called Customer service and was told that it was the fan and needed to be manually defrosted. I had never heard such a thing since the 60s. My parents had a Kenmore refrigerator for 50 years and never once had to manually defrost it. So I did as told and removed everything from the fridge, unplugged it and left it open for 10 hours. I dried the bottom, cleaned it and turned it back on. The noise was gone. Two months later the noise is back. I call customer service back and they tell me its user error, that I am leaving the door open too long or not shutting it correctly. They will send a tech out for $125. So I tell the guy its not user error and he tells me then I need to manually defrost. I tell him I have never heard of such a thing for a fridge in 2021 needing to be defrosted every two months. So ask him, Are you telling me I have to defrost this thing every two months? And he says, Thats not what I said. Yes..Thats what youre telling me. If the tech comes out here for $125 and finds it just needs to be manually defrosted then I will be charged for him to do what Im supposed to do every 2 months!!! So in other words this expensive piece of junk needs to be manually defrosted every two months. Worst purchase I have ever made and worst customer service. Save your money and buy another brand because they do not stand behind their products at all. I purchased a brand new LG refrigerator on 4/17/2017. On 8/20/2020 the unit stopped cooling. I contacted LG on 8/21/2020 and they confirmed the unit was under warranty and dispatched a local technician to come on 8/27/2020. Technician came as scheduled and basically said LG is known for making faulty compressors and he had about 40 other homes waiting for compressors. I followed up weekly but the parts were on backorder. On 9/11/2020 I received a call stating they could return to fix the unit on 9/17/2020. On 9/17/2020 technician arrived and stated the issue was not the compressor but the tank which holds the coolant. He said he should have the part in 2-3 days. After 5 days of not hearing from them I spoke to LG headquarters who confirmed the local technician did not know the issue so they dispatched a different local technician to arrive on 9/25/2020. The technician did not arrive on 9/25/2020 so I called LG HQ again and they stated the technician cancelled the appointment but did not know why I was not made known of this. They stated corporate approved a defective return number for my home also known as a DNR number but I had to call 888-412-8357 to follow-up. I called that number and waited 2 hours but nobody ever came to the phone. I tried again today, and no luck. I would stay away from LG appliances in all as this has been a nightmare for my family.

I do not want to put $500 - $1000 in repairs (even though it is still under warranty) just for it to happen again. It appears that there is a Class Action Lawsuit about this problem but my model is one of the excluded models - Also excluded are consumers who bought LG refrigerator models of which fewer than 1,000 units were sold “or for which the service rate for No-Cooling Events was less than 1% of sales,” the settlement says.. My first unit came with a manufacturing defect where the housing unit inside the fridge housing. The styrofoam kept coming apart and wouldnt stay put. LG and Lowes recommended that I just exchange it for a new product. Besides that one manufacturing defect, the unit worked fine; it was quiet and efficient. Now, after a week the second and replacement unit was delivered. Oh boy, LG has some major issues they need to fix. First, the unit comes without one shelf on the freezer side. This was remedied by them saying they would send one out to us. Second, this fridge is much louder than the first unit we received. It makes a constant humming noise, which is quiet and we wouldnt have thought much of it, but we had experiences with our first defective unit to compare it to. Heres the kicker though. Occasionally, the fridge will start rattling. Its not too abhorrent, but when we open the fridge, the shelves will make a vibrating noise that gets amplified. I contacted LG support again to ask how to remedy this because we werent sure if it was a leveling issue or something else. The agent that I was connected to just tells me to unplug it and plug it back in, and adds that if it isnt resolved we would need service for a fridge that we had just received. To top it all off, the serial number matches a fridge that was made in April 2020. How terrible does your quality control procedure have to be for this to happen? Im 0/2 in receiving a brand new perfect product. I went with LG because people said they improved (partially because of my Korean bias), but man stay away. Currently debating if I should ask Lowes to replace the unit or if I should go with a completely different refrigerator. Terrible. Just terrible.
