LG Refrigerator Model LRSOC2206S
My LG washing machine has been a joke. I can not get the stinky smell out of my clothes. It is just gross. I have done everything people at the stores have told me to do, no success at all. Never will buy an LG again.
We bought a home with a new LG side-by-side refrigerator already installed. We have been in the house for 4 years and have had a service call on the refrigerator freezer at least 5 times. 1. The fan motor went bad, so the compressor shut down, causing food to defrost. 2. Water would not flow from the dispenser or to the ice maker. One of the solenoids was bad. 3. The ice cube tray that makes the ice was warped, so the water would overflow into the ice bin and freeze all the ice together. Apparently, the heater for the tray causes the tray to warp over time.4. The hose in the back that supplies water to the icemaker developed a leak and soaked our floors. This was repaired and it re-occurred multiple times. This issue is so common with LG that there is a procedure on YouTube on how to replace and repair the hose. I have owned refrigerators for 20 years with no problems. I believe LG definitely has a quality problem, so buy at your own risk.
I purchased an LG double stacked washer/dryer at Home Depot on January 2010. The motor on the washer needs to be replaced at a cost of $500.00 for labor and parts. Why should I have to pay for a new motor on a 2-year-old washing machine. Someone please help.
Dishwasher broke a few weeks after warranty ended. Only LG certified appliance repairman are to fix it. I lost 2 days work for a no show, no phone call repairman. Complained to LG, told 4-6 weeks and I will get a refund. It has been over 20 weeks and I am still told it will be 4-6 weeks. Spoke to manager who told me she would call me back before the end of the day yesterday - did not get a phone call back. LG is unreliable and undependable.
Not happy at all with LG Electronics USA. Terrible customer service. Bought a washing machine 4 months ago and its already dead. Cant get an English speaking person on the phone, must go through endless questions, and cant get someone to look at it. Dont stand behind their product. Stay away!
LG True Balance washing machine - We purchased this machine brand new and was told it was top of the line in terms of quality and capacity. It was also at the top end of pricing. We have been dissatisfied in every way. It takes hours to complete a wash cycle and the only chance you stand of getting through a wash cycle without machine stopping every 10 minutes and showing an error code is if you wash like items, ie only towels or only jeans... and then you still often times have to reposition at least once. Many times I cant get the load to finish and have had to remove and wring out by hand soaked and dripping items from machine. We have balanced it every way possible and done all recommended troubleshooting. Techs say just wash like items... not realistic to wash that many separate loads. Would love to hear if anyone has figured out how to fix this issue.
I am not one to leave reviews for products... especially negative ones. But I have been so frustrated with our customer service at LG that I figured this was my only recourse. We have an LG refrigerator that is less than four years old. We paid about $2500 for it. We kept the one year warranty that came with it when we purchased it new. Within six months we had to use the warranty because something went wrong with the ice maker. It was frustrating that we had to wait about a week to get it fixed, but it was fixed with no cost to us as it was under warranty and all of the service and product was covered.Since then, the middle plastic drawer in the freezer broke and we eventually ended up just removing it from the freezer. Most recently our ice maker stopped working and eventually the refrigerator stopped cooling. After making no less than six phone calls to customer service and following their trouble shooting, we finally had to call a local service provider. The problem was that we could not find anyone in our area who worked with LG. Literally every place we called stated that LG was difficult to work with and their systems were difficult to diagnose. We found an LG certified technician about 45 minutes away but they wanted $200 plus mileage to come out and look at it. (Our one year warranty was up, so the only parts covered were the compressor and coils. Service was no longer covered). After making several more phone calls to LG, they told me that if I could find someone to look at it, then they would work with that technician to help us get it fixed. All I needed to do was to give them the contact information of the provider that we were going to use. Even after I did this, they told me that it would take 3-5 business days for them to approve the technician (at this point it has already been 4 weeks without use of our refrigerator). I asked for a supervisor and the policy was that they could not give me the direct number of a supervisor, that I had to wait for a phone call in return. I am a physician and do not have access to my phone during most of the day. When the supervisor did call back, she did not leave a return phone number, nor did she answer my question and instead, just reiterated that it would be 3-5 days for them to approve our technician. When the technician did come out, he discovered that there was a blockage within the sealed system that was causing the Freon to not move freely throughout the unit. His recommendation was to junk our refrigerator because he would have to completely take apart the sealed system and stated that this was too difficult. In his words no one in their right mind would take this apart and fix it and left it up to me to deal with LG because of past experience, he would not work with them. After more phone calls to LG and them refusing to provide me with the service department number (citing privacy policy), their solution was to call an LG certified technician. So I was back to calling the person who charged $200 plus mileage (the only one I could find within 60 miles who would come look at it). When I spoke with the technician on the phone, they indicated that they do sealed system work because LG wants to uphold their warranty. It was going to be a minimum of $400 to take apart the refrigerator and could be up to $1200 because it was so labor intensive. Keep in mind, that I spoke to several technicians who stated that they would total it, but the LG certified technician was the only one who would do the work.We have decided to just junk our refrigerator and buy a new one that is NOT LG. This is ridiculous because our fridge is less than 4 years old and we have already had these three major issues. In all of the phone calls to the LG customer service department, not once did I get any empathy or an apology for what we were dealing with. Not one customer service representative offered an alternative solution. They provided only barriers for us to get our refrigerator fixed. As I shared our story with our friends and family, we heard other experiences of very poor customer service and products through LG and we will never buy an LG product again.
Another complaint about the plastic knobs that break and have gas leaks. I have other people in my home that use my stove and they arent aware if the knob is all the way off. Gas leaks that can lead to death! LG is doing nothing about it.
I purchased a washer and dryer from Hahns appliance in Tulsa, Ok. Within weeks the washer had to be replaced with a new washer. The second lasted just under a year before it would not operate correctly. Water overflowed die to sensor going bad, will not wash just spins, terrible rust around bleach dispenser. Customer service literally laughs when you call to complain. They dont care and the only way to stop this is to not buy their products. Do not subject yourself to misery I have experienced. Look at other brands. You have been warned.
Our refrigerator failed because the compressor starter. I reached LG customer service after I searched for the part and find out that the part is no longer available. After 3 calls and checking with the companies that supply LG parts and service (recommended by LG customer Service), I called again and I told the lady that the part was not available and the people from those companies recommended me to call back LG and ask for a substitute part. The lady told me LG does not have a substitute part and that I need to buy a new refrigerator. Guess what, I got a new refrigerator. NO LG, NEVER AGAIN!
Purchased thru JC Penney Sept 2017 and bought extended warranty. Freezer began accumulating snowy frost and gaskets molding around French doors. Contacted LG and service thru A&E quickly arranged. Took 3 visits due to wrong parts shipped but I was pleased and wrote positive review. Then after a couple of days, same snow reappeared and freezer drawer stuck. A&E came again after hours (did not go thru LG--I had his cell and called) and heated drawer to unstick. By 11 pm same day, drawer stuck again. Called LG, scheduled another call. This time man said middle hinge piece between doors needed replacing so ordered, waited, another call to install. Same problem recurred. Called LG in tears, asked about replacement or lemon policy and was told LG needed details from repairman so I waited over a week, heard nothing, called LG again and there was nothing to indicate that LG was supposed to do anything so I had wasted another week and 1/2. I was EXTREMELY upset and LG agreed to send a repairman from another company so a man from Keiser came and said the entire freezer drawer (not the inside but the whole thing) was out of alignment or something and he adjusted. It has been a couple of weeks and so far so good. We have LG washer and dryer set and were very happy with the quality which is why we purchased the refridge but dealing with LG, trying to understand the heavy accented folks on the phone, not following thru, making me feel desperate AND the mere fact that the fridge had such issues after less than 2 years has completely shaken the confidence I once felt.
The LG refrigerator was energy efficient, stainless steel with side by side doors. I liked the refrigerator size. The ice maker features were nice. But the pullout freezer would get full fast. The filter needed to be changed too often. I wish the freezer was bigger. I had to buy another freezer because the freezer was so small. Not enough space. Sometimes the food in the freezer would defrost. And the freezer on the bottom wasnt very big and would filled too full. But I really just liked the way the refrigerator looks. It is a sleek looking piece of equipment. I did wish it had a few more luxury features. But, overall, it was the best bang for the buck. It had good reviews, had a good price and it was attractive. Id buy the refrigerator again.
My washer is 1 1/2 years old. Just before it went out of warranty, I noticed the bleach dispenser was starting to rust. I called LG and was told not their problem and if I want someone to look at it I have to pay for a repairman. I told them NO WAY. I would be glad to send pictures, still they said no. A couple months go by and I start to notice rust spots on my clothes so I called back this time. I was told there was a recall and they would fix that first then look into the rust problem. Repairman comes and just like everyone else did not fix the unbalance problem. I insisted on him taking pictures of the now very rusty bleach dispenser. After many calls, they finally agreed to fix. Well see. They are due here this Friday. This machine is junk!!!! I welcome a class action suit!!!!!!
While this refrigerator seems to have everything as youre reviewing it, it absolutely SUCKS! Not only does the product suck, the service on the product sucks. You seen $3k on a product and you would like to think that the degenerates that sell the thing might have an ounce of human decency in them but they dont. DONT EVER BUY AN LG PRODUCT!!! They want your money, they couldnt care less about you.I have this piece of ** refrigerator and the ice maker always (in literal terms: 9 days out of 10) freezes up and you have to pull out the ice maker, stab the chute with a knife to break up the ice cluster and it spreads the ice cubes all over the kitchen because it takes force to get it out. You have to cut in the tiny gap between the pull-out device and the door to sever the ice dam, then pull... to the point where you think the plastic will break... the ice maker out. It explodes in a shower of ice cubes that fling all over your kitchen. All that water/ice is wasted, you are MORE THAN PISSED OFF constantly and you never have access to anything but floor-ice. I would never recommend any product by this manufacturer because they simply dont care. I was told...You bought it. Figure out how to use it the best in your house. Also, their water filters are ridiculously priced. I hope the manager of their support catches dick cancer and dies in front of his own mother.
My refrigerator was purchased in August 2017. Now 13 months later this 1200$ item died between 5:30 in the evening and 8 pm. It was dead. I have called LG every day since and get sent from one person to another. They did not even have a tech in my area, small-town in AZ. Finally got one out a week later. The main board went out. 400$ plus for the part, 4 to 6 weeks to get one. By the time Im am done, if ever it will cost almost as much as mine did new for the repair. Stay away from LG!!!
Soooo got back from deployment and this $2500 paperweight had tripped the circuit breaker! That issue started within about 2 years after purchase. Its now been 3 years. They put in a new compressor which obviously solved nothing and refuse to repair the issue. If a fridge cant run by simply plugging it in, its useless! So, I came home to the stinkiest refrigerator Ive ever encountered! They also have a settlement for which my model number is included, but keep responding to me that it isnt. You wouldnt have came and installed a brand new compressor if that were the case!
I ordered a Part for my stove hood (lsvc302st) in April. It is now June and theyre telling me the part is on backorder till the end of the month. Every time I call the parts on backorder for longer. Play it safe and do not buy Any LG products. Its new and shouldnt have broke this soon. I dont use it a lot.
Updated on 08/12/2019: I reported this product problem previously and a week later, received a response from LG saying they would do something about it. I sent the info next day and 4 days later they responded that they cant find the number. I respond again same day, now three more days go by. They still cant find the number so I send model and serial number again (from the sticker inside refrig). And I added that this is a refrigerator, our food is spoiling, please call me (and gave my number) as if it was your familys food. FIVE days more, another message, We still cant find the number. It took me 6 minutes to find out the first three digits of my model number meant LG Electronics. Youd think two weeks would be enough to find the rest of the number. I would send a picture of the product label if there was a way to do that. If they really wanted to fix this problem, they could have called me and we would be this far in 10 minutes, not two weeks. I got sick last night, and it was probably spoiled food. Im 76 with a heart condition. There are so many facts to give here that it sounds like Im ranting instead of just giving the details. Maybe thats their strategy. Take the money, stall and make excuses until they stop. But I wont. I was using private mail so they could work fast and do their job. For some reason, some department at LG is just as bad as Sears. I know how to broadcast that.Original Review: $2200 LG made refrigerator completely fails after 18 months. Stops cooling/spoils food and almost new. Technician tells me its a known problem affecting 1000s of products. This is a brand I had trusted. Am told I need a board and possibly a compressor. $1000. I will ask them to fix it and will spread the word on what they do.
I recently moved into a new house that came with 1 HE LG Washer & 1 HE LG Dryer (Model DLE2150S). When I saw it was an LG brand coming into the house, I knew that I would be in lots of trouble. Needless to say, a little over a month of moving in and our HE dryer now does not turn on. I looked the simple troubleshooting in the manuals and it did not work. I then turned to the worst customer service I have ever experienced.I called LG Canada. I got to this lady who then proceeded to ask me what was wrong. I informed her and she asked me if I have unplugged it. I told her yes I have and plugged it back in. She asked me Well, Maam, how long did you unplug it? and I replied (knowing most computers take 10 sec to reload) 10 seconds. She replied, Oh no Maam, you must unplug for 30 min at least. Well how the heck was I supposed to know? After you do that, then plug it back in to reset and if it still has trouble turning on, which I highly doubt it will, you must contact sellers warranty. Well needless to say, it still doesnt turn on. Thanks for your useless and crappy service LG!
LG direct drive top load - This machine makes me wish I bought the $300 basic Whirlpool. Every load gets UE code. It’s loud. Uses a lot of water. Ends up taking all day to get laundry done. Is it even worth fixing the constant unbalancing?
I have a LG dryer that is a little over a year old and it is the worst dryer Ive owned in 30 years. It wont dry the clothes. I need more than an hour to dry even the smallest load. A very poor product. Wish I could send it back. I am going back to Whirlpool.
One month after purchase dishwasher would stop 20 minutes into cycle and display power failure. Called Customer service and told a visit from repair would happen next day. Never arrived and phone call to service center never responded. Dishwasher would complete cycle after restarting 2-3 times and now will not operate beyond 20 min. PF
I chose LG because of the price and the amount of shelves options for water and ice dispensing and more. Also I think the salesperson did an awesome job at telling the features on the fridge. I dislike the amount of money it adds onto my bill at the end of the month though. Also I do not like how the steel on the fridge is super easy to scratch. But I like the amount of ice dispenser options it has including cubed crushed and some others. In addition I like the taste of the water because of its awesome filtration system.
I have call Sears Home Service to repair my LG Refrigerator and the repair service told me that the LG refrigerator is unfixable. Did not know that LG ref. are disposable. No more LG product for me and my family.
I really like my LG washing machine and dryer. It doesnt look as upgraded as some of Samsungs new dryers but it gets the job done. But I would have preferred more color choices without having to spend an additional couple hundred dollars. I love that there is not an agitator and it has an extra large capacity. I can easily fit my king size comforters in the basin. I love the turbo speed function that allows you to wash your clothes at a reduced time. You also save a lot of water because it only puts in enough water to cover the clothes. The machine does a survey for the weight and size of the load to determine the amount of water to use. I normally only need the smallest amount of detergent in most loads, so you save money there too. There are plenty of cycles types to select from and some you can customize. My dryer has an awesome steam feature! This really reduces wrinkles in dress clothing! I also love the sensing feature on the dryer. I rarely have to add more time or dry a second time. It also has a large capacity. The signal indicating both the washer and dryer could be louder. There is also an app with the units that you can get laundry tips. I would have preferred to be able to start and stop functions and/or time left on loads with the app. You can also use your cell phone to diagnose errors on the units. You hold the phone to the unit and it sends codes to help with troubleshooting. The washing machine could be more quiet. I can definitely hear the wash if Im in rooms next door. During some heavy rinse cycles I can hear and feel it shaking since the unit is on my second floor. All in all I really like the set.
I purchased my LG dishwasher on april 11, 2015. I did not purchase an extended warranty as LG was supposed to be a high end appliance company and felt the product would not require service right away. However, I was wrong. One week after my 1 year purchase date, the dishwasher had an oe error code flashing one morning, which I did not know what that meant. So I continue to use it and instead of running at night while sleeping I decided to run before we went to bed. The dishwasher when first starting had a loud grinding noise, which sounded like it was trying to take off and start flying.I went online to find that this is a problem with the dishwasher and the company does not back their warranty. I started a chat at 8:38 to resolve the issue and remained on the chat until 10:52, with no resolution. I then called the company direct. Spoke with a rep and a supervisor, both of which informed me my dishwasher had no warranty. Only after I had to contact Sears, get a duplicate receipt, upload it to them and they reviewed it. Since I got a discount on my dishwasher due to the door having had swirl marks on the front it voided any extended warranty. Therefore, I like many others will have to pay a serviceman to come repair my dishwasher that I purchased just over a year ago. I would tell anyone looking for any type of appliance. Do not buy LG anything!!! Their customer service is awful and their warranty is ridiculous.Update 5/13/16: I received from LG names and numbers of authorized repairman in our area. Called their repairman, was told by them Oh, maam, you are not in my service area. So, therefore, I have no one to service my dishwasher.
I really like LG products. Ive never had any bad experiences with them. They are dependable and reason I priced and Ive owned several appliances and electronics made by LG. Of course more room on the inside or make the best of the size with shelves and drawers is always good. I chose LG because of the color and the interior of the cooler part and of the freezer part and Ive been very satisfied. I am very pleased with my LG.
On September 6, 2020 we realized that food in freezer was soft and fridge was blowing rather warm air. Based on the instruction we clean the back side of fridge to eliminate dust immediately. No improvement. We unplugged to see if it will reset. No improvement. We tested from the motherboard. No improvement. We contacted LG and was informed us that it is outside of warranty that we will not be covered but approved list of service vendor in area maybe able to help us if they order LG parts directly. No one is willing to come repair using LG parts.
We have had our LG Refrigerator for 2 years and this is the second repair on ice maker. We have never had a problem with an ice maker. We should have read the reviews before we bought. We are thankful for purchasing an extended warranty but when that runs out we will probably have to purchase a new refrigerator after reading the reviews. LG needs to close up shop because at this rate I cant see sales increasing. Does Home Depot realize the problems with these refrigerators?
Worst washing machine ever... Does not supply ample amounts of water...clothes rarely come out clean, or thoroughly rinsed. Destroys towels, blankets, and basically anything else that is put in the washer. Customer service is as big a joke as the washer. Keeping large loads balanced is a time consuming joke, Do not buy this washer.
The washer keeps tripping GFI which indicates a current leakage problem, that is, a DESIGN PROBLEM. Local techs and LG keep writing this up as an electrical breaker tripping which is a problem of shorting out, or over-amping, not current leakage. GFI breakers are required by electrical code in areas where water is present. The local techs and LG want to solve this problem by removing the GFI, thus violating electrical code in order to make their product work. Current leakage design problems dont improve, they get worse over time, further endangering customer safety.
It was the highest rated fridge in my price range at the time. It was also the only floor model that fit my spacial needs as well as practicality. The sales person highly recommended it and I quickly found out why. I like the ice maker. It kept temperature well, and had an amazing seal. The inside door shelf designs were amazing. The air circulation inside the refrigerator was optimal, and the freezer froze things solid in more than adequate time. The color options were limited in my area, so I opted for the white one. When my kids got the fridge dirty, some of the paint came off upon washing it.
My wife and I had higher expectations on the model and make. We thought that being a LG model and the new concept of front loading that the clothes would come out cleaner. As far as water consumption no complaints and the company is in the right direction on that topic. But for tumbling of the clothes to get them clean, I think that we need to get back to the drawing board. And as for the quietness of the machine no complaints, either very quiet especially for a washer.
Refrigerator breaks down within 3 years of purchase. Compressor has to be replaced at cost of between 8 to 12 hundred dollars and has to be ordered. In meantime we are without refrigerator. Repairman says is happening with LGs all the time. Never Again!
Don’t ever buy an LG refrigerator! Paid top dollar for a top model in 2017. Since then the compressor has had to replaced, and now it will not make ice due to an issue the company is obviously aware of because they issued a tech bulletin to the field that describes EXACTLY the issues I am having. It’s out of warranty now. They want $700 to fix it. Spoke with “Executive Services” after getting nowhere with their regular Customer Service. At least their regular customer service people were polite (if useless). The U.S. based Executive Services were downright nasty!
I own an LG dryer (Model: DLG5988W) just over five years now. This past summer, I noticed a noise and the felt along the rim inside the drum was coming out. I notified the service company and they ridiculously removed the felt--had to scrape glue from the unit. This took about three hours--the service person was outside in heat applying the new glue and the new felt to the drum. Keep in the mind that the entire unit needs to be taken apart to do this. When he was finished, he said that they could have ordered an entirely new drum and not have to remove and reapply the felt--but they chose to do it this way.Three months later, I noticed some markings on my clothing, sheets, blankets, and white clothing. The felt is coming out again and the noise has returned. We have contacted the service company who says that our warranty was just up about two months ago. They originally charged us approximately $300+ and now, they say that the drum needs to be replaced and it would cost about $600+.We want it replaced and the original cost be deducted, since the problem was a temporary fix. Now, they wont even return our calls. So I continue to put aside all the ruined clothing, blankets, etc. I will never ever give LG my business. I also own the frontload washer, which, by the way, smells all the time. I remember growing up and the washer and dryer lasted 15+ years. LG sucks!
We purchased an entire kitchen of LG appliances in July 2010. Double oven, dishwasher, cooktop and fridge all have needed repairs within the first year. The LF25976 fridge has multiple issues, but the most pervasive is the ice maker not working. I usually research major purchases thoroughly, but I let my wife choose. These are the most unreliable appliances on the market. I will never by LG again. I have made a point to inform as many of our relatives and friends of our experience as possible.
Bought an LG suite of appliances for the kitchen remodel. Every piece except the microwave has had to be serviced right after the warranty expired. The dishwasher drain stopped functioning, the freezer drawer would not stay on the tracks, and the oven’s control panel got super hot when baking and after a couple of calls to troubleshoot that never fixed it, I tried to run a self-clean and the control panel got so hot it fried the oven completely and it went black and stayed locked. Been waiting two weeks for extended warranty to send out a repair guy. A couple of boxes of parts was mailed to me but still no idea when the repair will take place. Two weeks and counting with no stove/oven is terrible!
Once per week, sometime after every wash, I had to empty the drain hose. Otherwise the floor got flooded. Machine leaked from the dispenser cups. Sometimes the washer walked on its pedestal. Also, dryer just didnt dry on a full load. Had repairmen in from the first month I owned the appliances.
I have a 2-year-old LG Dryer. Not long after I bought it, it started catching clothing articles on the dryer filter at the front of the door. My clothes are getting ruined. The dryer will twist all the clothes together and the piece of clothing that gets caught, will stretch out or rip. I have already replaced a filter that cost $30, thinking it was a defective filter (not warranted). I know LG is aware of the problem, because when I called the manufacturer, the salesman admitted that people were having that problem. I want a refund. I will have to buy a new dryer. By the way, one of the bars inside the drum fell off. Now, I will have to call a repair man, stay at home all day to wait for him to come look at it, order a part and then when it comes in, I will have to stay home all day to wait for him to come back and fix it. I am so sick of spending my energy on this dryer.
I purchased a condo in October 2010. The condo came with an almost new LG washer/dryer (WM2101). The washing machine has not lasted even 5 years. About a month ago, the washer shut down with an Le error. I called the LG 800 help number and was instructed on how to reset the machine. Multiple attempts at resetting did not resolve the problem. After determining an authorized LG service provider in the southern California area, I had a service representative come to assess/diagnose the error. The service provider could tell me that from the serial number of the machine, that it had been manufactured in November 2009 - less than a year before I purchased the condo. Now, it is May 2015 - not even 6 years since date of manufacture - and the machine is shot. The Le error is due to worn out bearings in the machine. During the less than 5 years that I have owned this condo (and the washer/dryer), the machine has not even been used that much. The cost of repair of the machine (by this authorized service provider) would exceed the cost of a new LG washing machine. Not only would the cost of repair of the washing machine be excessive, the LG service provider did not recommend keeping the existing LG dryer, which was stacked on top of the washer. So, I would have to pay for removal of both machines - with an additional cost of $160 to unstack the machines. As far as I am concerned, I never intend on purchasing another LG appliance. I am appalled that the US government allows companies to prey on US consumers with the current quality of workmanship of manufactured goods - especially large (and expensive) appliances. What happened to appliances that lasted 20+ years - or even 10 years? These large appliances that do not last but 5 years are ending up in our landfills - or having to be disassembled for recycling. Environmentalists and legislators - where are you?
I purchased a new LG washer WT1201CW and dryer DLEY1201W when we moved to a new home recently. In all my 50 years washing clothes, I have never had such a poorly designed machine. The washer is so deep that I have to half hang inside the machine to reach the clothes at the bottom (I am 54). The machine doesnt fill with enough water to sufficiently clean the clothes and I end up with spots and streaks. The dryer also performs poorly, not fluffing the clothes and bunching them so they end up wrinkled. I am very dissatisfied and will never purchase anything from LG again.Updated on 05/25/2016: I received a reply with only a portion of my complaint answered and the answer was ridiculous. I am posting this to warn others, dont purchase a top loading washer and matching dryer from LG. I am a grandmother and have washed clothes for many years, this is the worst appliances I have ever owned.
If I could give zero stars, I would. Do not buy anything from LG. I have owned an LG top-load washing machine since 2012. Four months ago, it stopped working in the middle of a load of laundry and trapped the entire load in the washer because the un-lock mechanism didnt stop working when the washing machine did. The first technician told me to buy a new machine and break the lid -- on a 6 year old machine! Then the fun began (to quote many other reviewers). LG phone representatives do not give you a straight answer, do not understand the issues, dont follow up, refuse to acknowledge your issues, and even LIE -- I can go on and on. In addition, LG corporation itself is running a scheme of taking advantage of consumers by ignoring their complaints and then charging exorbitant prices for parts so that consumers are forced to purchase a new appliance. After 3 months of back and forth because I could never get an answer or a supervisor/manager, I finally learned that the parts alone to repair the machine are estimated at over $400 (again, not including labor), which would bring the repair cost to about the cost of the machine when new.
I purchased a LG top loader 10 kg washing machine. During a wash cycle it Exploded blowing the top of the machine right off. The force of the explosion was so intense that it smashed the near by window and sent shrapnel flying throughout the house. I contacted LG and asked why are these machines still in family homes. They need to be urgently recalled. After research I have found the same LG washing machines that have exploded in other people’s home. LG refuse to even replace the machine even with a receipt provided. These machines are dangerous. Please Beware when purchasing a LG washing machine. They are dangerous. I’m very thankful that I wasn’t standing in front of it at the time or my young grandchildren weren’t in the house. Very frightening experience and to think the company know these machines have the potential to Explode and do nothing. Very dangerous product.
Bought these about 6 years ago. It clean clothes okay, and yes I keep the door open so it doesnt get moldy. Glad I have a plastic pan underneath. Noticing lots of water in it after a wash cycle has run. They just dont make them like they used to. Most stuff these days isnt expected to last much longer than 5 years.
We bought a house with built-in LG double wall ovens. They were inspected prior to our purchase and worked fine. We decided to use the self-clean mode on the upper unit that is built in to the appliance and what a huge mistake that was! The electronic touch screen went blank, the door locked shut, and the oven heated up to some insane temperature that had us concerned the unit would catch the wood enclosure the ovens were built into on fire. The self-clean took over 5 hours to complete and the upper oven has not worked since. I went online to see if I could figure out what happened and saw that this is a very common complaint about LG ovens. So, I contacted LG to file a claim and they refused to acknowledge the issue and said they would not warranty the appliance because our purchase contract didnt specifically call out the serial and model numbers of the BUILT IN UNIT. They had no concern about the fire hazard created by using the self-clean feature on the unit and no offer to inspect or correct the damage (that seems to be a regular occurrence) caused by using their appliances self-clean feature. LG offers both a shoddy appliance and a shoddy customer service experience. I will not be purchasing another LG product.
This item had good ratings and suggestions directly to me from store associates and consumer ratings. Online there were very electorate reviews from multiple retailers and review websites about how this refrigerator, in general, was the best one that many of the spoken consumers had every previously owned. I like the water filter, cooling levels, storage space, stainless steal, and ice machine. Additionally, it has a wide breadth, lots of shelves, easy to clean interior and exterior, and good lighting inside the machine. Sound levels, height, and some leakage at the bottom occasionally. Otherwise, there is nothing else I notably dislike. I would improve the quickness of the ice making process for the ice maker machine, and I would also improve the noise levels for lower levels or whirring and shaking noises.
I bought a LG Over the oven Microwave about two years ago. It just suddenly started to burn the roof of the microwave after normal use. The is a hazard and this product should have been recalled as when I called they knew all about it. Ive been trying to work with LG Customer Support to get a service provider to fix it as they will not replace it. Its been about a month now. Very incapable Customer Support. I will never buy another LG product. And I will also tell everyone not to buy their products.
All 5 stove control knobs have melted and deformed because they are plastic and located directly above the oven. LG customer service instructed me to find the oven model number and after pulling the oven out they then advised me that some ranges do not have the model number on them so they could not help me replacing the knobs. I’ve used the oven once. Don’t buy LG appliances.
I purchased my LG washer (WT5001C) at my local Home Depot on 7/2/2011. On 2/6/12, it wouldnt spin out the water. I called and they gave me the phone number of A & E Services. I spoke with them on 2/27/12 and they couldnt look at it until 3/8/12 when they told me the motor and the mainboard in the computer were gone. They said it would take another week and a half to get the parts (if they were in stock) because they were coming from Korea. I dont think I would ever buy another LG product!
I purchased an LG dishwasher for my newly renovated kitchen, it was professional installed the first of May right before the final acceptance of the renovation. The plumbers tested the dishwasher and all appeared ok, I never had a chance to even use it once. On May 9th I walked into the kitchen to find three inches of water in the kitchen and dining/living rooms, with water pouring out from the dishwasher. It was inspected by the factory rep from LG that a clip on one end of water hose was missing and determined this was a factory defect. Since there was extensive damage to three Persian rugs floating in water, furniture and areas behind the newly installed cabinets I filed a claim with LG and after 4 months they still have not made a reasonable offer to reimburse me for the damages their defective product caused. Very very poor customer service. Will never purchase another LG product and would not recommend their products to anyone.
Model # wm2688HWM: We bought this washer from HH Gregg 5 years ago. The extended warranty was for 5 years. The door on the front of the machine is broken or is not sealed right, 4 different times in the last 5 years. Now, it is doing it again, both leaking water and not sealing. Now, there is no warranty. I feel that LG should replace this washer due to the trouble that we have had with this $1,200 unit. I have receipts on all that was done. This is a lemon!
After installing a new LG gas dryer the dryer ran fine but there was no heat. I called LG and they said a service person would call within 48 hours. The first contact from a repair person was 3 weeks later, not 48 hours. When I declined the service (I had already paid a local service person to do the work) the LG service person on the phone was quite insistent about why I did not want service at that point and refused to accept that fact that their huge delay in time was the problem..
My 6-year-old refrigerator quit completely (most likely compressor). I called LG as parts are still under warranty. They gave me 3 places to call to schedule a repair. Two places stated they no longer accepted any service calls on LG repairs and one said she was so far out of my area she didnt know why they gave me their number. I called LG back and was told to see if I could find somebody. I called several places and got the same thing so I called LG back again. I was then told I would be placed with scheduling and somebody would call me in 3 to 5 business days. I asked was their list different or more current and was told his list was fine. I asked him to go unplug his refrigerator for the next 10 days and throw away $300.00 worth of food. He said there was no reason for me to get smart. This is unbelievable. LG doesnt know which of their service providers still honor their calls??? I am now shopping for a refrigerator after 3 days of doing without and no resolution in sight and considering an attorney. I have read far too many horror stories.
I bought an LG Washing Machine in 2012. Its a top loader. The bleach compartment started rusting out in 2013. I dont even use very much bleach. I contacted LG last November and they told me I had to have a repair person validate it. It cost me an additional $105.99! Still nothing done. I sent proof of purchase and pictures. Still nothing done. I would not recommend LG to ANYONE! The matching dryer is not working right, doesnt completely dry the clothes. Please save yourself some time and money and do not purchase an LG.
The washer almost from new began leaving soap scum on clothes and had to rewash so many clothes. The top load is a wreck. Also the dryer has wrinkle free cycle, yes all the wrinkles for free, the older maytags were so much better. Next time probably buy Samsung.
I have never written a review before! But I think now is the time! Frustration has taken over. We have all LG in our home (Washer, Dryer, Smart TV, Sound Bars, Dish Washer, Fridge with water and ice, Microwave, and Stove). I believe all are less than 3 years old. I agree with the other people who have written reviews on the dishwasher, it does not clean very well. Works best if you only have it half full and dishes have lots of space between them. Have to put it on pre-soak and then the 2-hour cycle. But it is quiet! Now for the frustration, our stove. We have the flat top with upper and lower ovens. Great idea as we use the upper oven for most things. The glass in the doors have stains between the glass. We called and it is a common issue and they recommend having the glass removed and have it cleaned but it will get dirty again so be prepared to do it somewhat often. The upper ceramic top has 4 elements (2 small in the back and two large in the front). My preference would be 1 small and 1 large in both back and front like most stove tops. One of the large front elements burned out a few weeks ago. We called to order the element and install it myself. Not a hard task if you are at all mechanically inclined. You cannot order parts and work on LG unless you are a certified repair shop?? It was not a money issue, it was something I wanted to do. So we prepaid on our visa to have a LG service person come in and replace the element. They said they would be there so we would have to have someone home between 7AM and 7 PM (odd, but one of the family members stayed home from work that day, they were to call just before arriving). They never showed up or called?? We called LG and questioned why and rescheduled for yesterday. Again no one showed up!! I called last night (on the phone for 1 hour and 10 minutes). The end result was they would credit our Visa and we could call a service repair shop ourselves (has to be LG trained) and get it fixed ourselves!!! Life is Good.
Update on 06/11/2020: It is now June 11th and there still is no resolve even though my original review states there is a resolution in process. It is true that LG reached out to me as shown below however, I responded to them and I have heard nothing back. As far as Im concerned, this reaching out with a form e-mail is just more of the same. If I could give LG zero stars I would.Original Review: I have a top of the line washer that is still under warranty that will not run. I called LG on 5/30 and it was determined by them someone needed to come to my home. I was assigned to a second rate authorized agent that operates out of his home. I called this agent on 6/2 because I never heard from them during the 24-48 business hour time frame. (It was at this point that I did some research on who they were and found bad reviews for them.) To make a very long story short I was promised on 6/2 that a reputable company I found would be assigned to me and it would be 24-48 hours before Id hear. I found this company on LGs website as an authorized service agent and when I called them directly, they informed me they were available to come out the next day if LG would assign it to them. As I said, LG promised this would be done. When I heard nothing, I called them once again on 6/4. I spoke with a very nice rep (her name was Jess) who transferred me to executive services and I was told by that lady that the company I requested had no availability. I informed her that I had been told they would be able to come out the following day if LG would assign it to them and this is what was supposed to be being done. When I asked her to hold for a minute, I placed a call to the company I requested and as I began leaving a message as to what I had been told by LG, the LG executive services lady hung up on me. She was able to hear me leaving this message as I was using a separate phone line. So, this morning I called the authorized agent and told them what I had been told (that they had no availability) and I was told that simply was not true. So, I called LG back and this time I was told by the authorized agent I spoke with didnt have an open contract with them and they couldnt be assigned to me. Finally, the truth! In other words, they didnt have a negotiated rate with LG, much like it is with HMO Insurance. At any rate, he contacted the authorized to see if they would agree to make my repair with just an order # and they agreed they would, however, LG has to send them the amount they are willing to pay and if the authorized agent agrees to it they will do the repair and if not, we are back to square one. So, they have till Monday (6/8) to get back with me however, they will only be contacting me if its a go. If not, I have to call them back and start all over. I have a feeling I will be calling them back to start at square one. LIFE certainly isnt GOOD! I purchased this machine based on Consumer Reports testing and we were just about to buy an LG Smart TV and soundbar because they also have a very high rating. But there is no way we are going to based solely on the fact that they have horrible customer service!
I did not look up reviews before I purchased this refrigerator, I wish I did! On the upscale price of closer to the $3000 mark, I feel I got a lemon. I loved the look, style, features, and all the different slide out drawers and compartments. I was sold! This is everything I could want in a refrigerator. Then came the disappointment... In the first year, it was getting ice build up on the inside of the refrigerator. Repair said it some kind of software problem, wasnt programmed correctly or something. It is the second year I have it, it will be in November 2016 two years old. Not working again, repair tech says this time the compressor is SHOT!!! REALLY that is the heart of the unit, in two years. So it is under warranty for the part but not the labor. So it will cost $450 to fix. On Tuesday they were supposed to expedite the part. Its Saturday and Im still waiting. I thought expedite meant send it NOW! I wrote a few emails to LG, they responded, Were sorry for your troubles and inconvenience. We have sent your concerns to complaint dept. Blah blah blah. Wont ever buy another LG product.
Purchased front loading LG washer and dryer in Dec 2011. In Feb of 2015 (just over 3 years old), the tub seal around the door developed a hole and was leaking water all over the floor. I went online to discover this problem was chronic. Replaced Rubber tub door seal, but developed leak AGAIN just 10 mos later. Called LG, but they refused to do anything because out of warranty. I am unable to justify pouring any more money into what I believe to be defective product and have decided to simply buy a new washer. LG brand is unreliable and defective. Just go online and look at replacement of Rubber Boot Seal, AKA Rubber Bellows, AKA Tub Door Seal.
My LG washing machine broke down requiring a new part. The repairman advised me the part was no longer available. I contacted LG and they informed me that manufacture of parts are discontinued after 7 to 10 years. Now I am in a situation requiring me to purchase a new washer as the basic part costing about $100 is not available. I also was informed by LG this is the case not just for washers but for LG major appliances. So if one buys a LG appliance and breakage occurs after 7 to 10 years, that appliance is not fixable and must be replaced. I find that unacceptable for a major appliance and will not be buying LG in the future.
We bought our French door refrigerator around December of 2018 when we purchased our new house. We have loved our unit until one day both of the coils for the fridge and freezer part went out. I placed a repair order in August of 2020. LG outsourced the repair work to a local repair shop which was fine. Here it is 10/25/2020 and we are still without a refrigerator. I have contacted LG and the repair company numerous times and nothing is being done about it. LG has basically washed their hands of the whole situation and put it on the backs of the repair company. I got tired of waiting for the refrigerator to be repaired because we have a large family (family of 8); I called LG back once more and requested LG to replace or refund the money from the initial purchase. Since then we are going on 2 weeks and I have still yet to hear from LG as to what the decision is on replacing it or refunding the money. We was happy with the unit while it was working but since then it has been a complete nightmare and I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER LG PRODUCT AGAIN IN MY LIFE because of this incident. I hope my review helps clear the air up for anyone thinking about making a purchase of a LG product.
We purchased an LG door in door refrigerator, spent a lot of money! We havent had it for a year yet and we noticed a defect on the finish of the stainless on the control panel cover... its like corrosion... I had been contacting customer service for one month!!! I know this is cosmetic and would Not be covered under warranty. We were assigned a service center... and a tech came to our home and confirmed that it was a defect. And Would not be covered but that he had seen this before.I again contacted LG thinking they would stand behind there product. After being disconnected 4 times I finally talked to a Dahl she said she would send approval for replacement to the same service CO. I had come out... after 10 days and no contact, I started to contact all services involved. Basically I had been straight up lied to!! They never sent approval... denied that they had and said they WOULD NOT!!! This appliance is not even a year old. We spent $3100.00 on it and they wont stand behind a defective finish!! We are soooo disappointed I cant even say. So we have a huge under one year old item that looks like crap in my new kitchen!!! I would NEVER RECOMMEND LG TO ANYONE.THE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS AWFUL. Im helpful and frankly speaking a bunch of liars... 9 phone calls, hours of my time being disconnected for zero end result!!! Warning, unless you want an expensive piece of JUNK in youre kitchen... do not purchase an LG refrigerator!!!
I purchased an LG washer and dryer in 2018. Within 6 months the dryer has no heat so I called for a repair. The electrical panel (brains of the dryer) and the thermostat had to be replaced. I called the store to express my disappointment and the saleswoman said, You must have bought a lemon! Clearly doesn’t stand behind the brands they sell! Less than 2 years later my dryer again has no heat! The repairman came today and the exact same parts need to be replaced again! I feel I have a defective machine and LG says they will most likely just repair it. I feel they should replace it. An appliance that only worked for less than 6 months is not what I thought I was buying. I thought I was buying quality! I will never buy an LG again! Including manufacturing, this will now be the third time the same part has been in put in this machine. Clearly defective! I had Whirlpool for over 10 years and never once needed to call for service. Extremely disappointed in LG.
First washer for me. Going to washaterias 55 years, not anymore. I researched item for years, paying attention to what was new, reading Consumer Reports etc. When I got my first home a few months back, I knew what to do. I set up alerts and bought the LG Direct Drive. Its spin speed lets me just hang clothes overnight with a fan, no need for dryer. OK, I couldnt afford a dryer so a faster spin cycle was very important. Machine is excellent.
Updated on 01/08/2019: After two failures and unsuccessful repairs, Asurion sent another repair company over. The repairman walked into the house and said I know what the problem is already as he heard the compressor groaning in the kitchen. After conferring with his boss over the phone, I was informed that they no longer will do repairs on LG products because LG does not pay their invoice. So not only does Home Depot continue to sell this junk, but the repair shops that would handle the extended warranty repairs will not work on LG. A couple of weeks later, Asurion (out of the blue) called and said that a reimbursement check was being sent. Could that be due to the class action lawsuit recently filed nationwide against LG?? So we got the check, disposed of the LG, and bought a KitchenAid that sits quietly in the kitchen, keeping things cool and keeping us composed. OH, and never a word from LG through any of this business.Original Review: Two Compressors in Two Months...LG is junk: We purchased this LG from Home Depot in December of 2016. It had great features, was very attractive, and large capacity. In November, 2017 we returned home to find the kitchen flooded and the fridge was warm. We called the Home Depot warranty company and a repairman came out two days later. They didnt have local repairmen so he came from 60 miles away btw. He said it was the compressor and he said he replaces LG compressors on a regular basis. Ultimately it took him 3 weeks to obtain one due to LG being out of stock on compressors. He installed it and the warranty company gave us a food reimbursement check. Two days later, the same thing happened! Spoiled food. Flood. Repairman showed up again and repeated the slow ordering process. Home Depot sent over a small dorm fridge just in time for Thanksgiving. Now the compressor is again making noises. LG is totally unresponsive to this; they would rather the repairmen make the repairs for them, that they are too cheap to do upon manufacture.
Bought the LG direct drive dishwasher in May 2012, worked for 2 years then stopped working. We had a repair person come out and they replaced the motor and drain pump which didnt fix it. They came back and replaced the motherboard which didnt fix it, then replaced the water inlet and it worked for 2 months and now its not working properly again, not drying dishes. I think its the heating element this time, ridiculous.
I purchased a top of the line LG Dryer from Lowes. Full retail is close to $1,000.00; yet this is one of the worst dryers I have ever owned. For starters the lint filter is horribly designed as it leaks massive amount of lint into the innards of the machine. Eventually I was able to install soft foam weather strip into the groove of the machine and get the lint leak stopped, but the fact of the matter is its very poor at drying clothes. The only setting that will actually get the clothes dry is timed drying. All the other settings are worthless as they shut the machine down before the clothes are actually dry. The reality is this machine is barely an automatic clothes dryer. Its just a timed dryer with an assortment of settings that are essentially useless. My 52 year old Maytag which was still working when I replaced it with this LG was a better machine. It had a better filter, and actually dried the clothes with a cool-down end cycle. I dont know what washers or dryers to buy, but the only thing good about LG is how they look on the showroom floor. Their actual mechanical design and performance is horrible.
This was the biggest mistake buying the LG LFX 2578ST. After only 6 months the compressor conked out. LG has left us waiting for a replacement compressor on order that will take 2 or 3 days at which point the repair person would be sent out. I have always bought Miele and Bosch appliances but because we had space limitations the LG was perfect, looked good and had all the features we needed. The fridge I replaced was 12 years old and we never had a problem with it. LG has been less than helpful and really left us stranded with no fridge. I have no confidence in their product and customer service has been disappointing. They are not solution focused, have no intention of replacing the fridge and state they will cover only $250 in perishables in a lifetime. I would not recommend this product, have found the entire experience frustrating. This is a company that does not stand behind their product nor do they practice the art of great customer service.
I recently purchases a Model # LSE4611ST slide in glass top range. I was very happy with it in the beginning. This past summer I was canning, the process was done, I laid a cloth on the unused side of the range and put my jars on it from the canner. I went out for 20 minutes, came in and found the front burner on and the cloth burned to the stove top. What I discovered was that when you leaned forward into the stove, the controls on the front of the stove are extremely flexible and it takes nothing at all to turn on the burner. I had a similar experience this afternoon and apparently touched a dial with my body and it turn it on while I was cleaning another section of the glass top. I almost set my hand on it and realized in time that the burner was on. I still like the range, just do NOT like that the control knobs are so easily manipulated. Thank goodness we dont have children in the house, it would be dangerous. My experience with LG has not led to a resolution. My issue that the knobs on the front of the range were very susceptible to touch and that it was easy to turn the burners on without being aware of it. I had a fire on my stove that burned thru a mat and damaged my burner. When the repairman came out he told me that was the way it was, there was no way to make the knobs more resistant to light touch. That this was the way it was. It makes bothers me that something so easy to fix to prevent accidents is deemed not viable by the company.
We are having the same experience. Our LG LFXC24726D stopped working yesterday; it is less than 2 years old and cost more than $2,500. We cannot find a local repair person and we are leaving town for three weeks. All of the frozen and refrigerated food is spoiled, and our diabetic sons insulin is about to suffer the same fate, which means hundreds of dollars of medication destroyed. I am a public interest lawyer. Having read the reviews on this page, I am seriously considering filing a class action lawsuit.
We bought an LG oven (model LRG4115) this summer (2018) and we can’t believe this oven is still on the market. It is so dangerous. We have brushed up numerous times against the knobs and the gas comes on automatically without us even knowing it. Luckily we have remained in the house afterward and smelled the gas so we were able to shut it off before something major happened. The knobs turn so easily and the gas comes on so quickly, unlike most other gas ranges that take several seconds before the fire lights up. We haven’t contacted LG yet but that is our next step. I want this oven out of my house before something horrible happens!
I purchased the LG french door fridge in the summer of 2016. Since then, the compressor stopped functioning after 2 years. I spoke with LG and they were no help and had to pay to service people to figure it out. This past month weve had an awful smell in our kitchen whose source could not be identified. It was only yesterday we figured out it was emanating from the fridge. We checked online for similar complaints and found someone who located it at the back of the fridge. We had to remove the lower panel and clean out these trays filled with thick yellow residue. The trays do not come out so we had to use chopsticks and an entire pack of clothes to clean it out... This is unacceptable to us and we are at a loss as to what to do with this fridge. STAY CLEAR OF THIS FRIDGE!!!
There is water leakage from the last compartment of the bottom freezer and later forms ice. Due to this, proper closing of the freezer compartment is not possible.
I bought an LG refrigerator (LMCX23746) from Costco in August, 2016. The ice maker stopped working in March, 2020. I paid LG $125 for a diagnosis by an LG technician who told me that a wire in the door is broken. It happened because we opened and closed the French door too many times (2000+). To repair, a new door and control board plus labor will cost me another $625-$875. I called LG and they refused to cover the parts because it is not part of the closed system. The customer service even suggested I slammed the door. I am following up with Costco on this. Even though I wont have an working ice maker in the end, I am not going to send one more penny to LG. Another customer has the same issue with the same LG fridge: **. So if you have an LG French Door unit, try to open the other door more. Or turn the French Door into a Single Door unit because the door with dispensers is dedicated to the ice maker.
This is the second microwave of this model. The first one worked fine for a year - until a few days after the warranty ran out. It was cheaper to buy a new one than to have it repaired, so we bought a new one because it matched the rest of our LG appliances. This one lasted less than 3 months. Home Depot requires 3 repair attempts before they wil take it back (even though we have the extended service plan on this one), so we got in touch with LG again. The same repair man came out and took it apart and put it back together again, saying he couldnt find what the problem was. It worked after that - for 1 day. When I called the repair company again, the tech said he would contact LG for us and get it taken care of. He did contact them, but we have only heard from them once to request more paperwork. Still waiting for the follow-up call a week later to get a refund. I will never buy another LG microwave. Very disappointed in their customer service.
This microwave caught fire while steaming vegetables. We heard a snapping sound followed by the entire inside space bursting into flames. I was able to extinguish with no damage except to the microwave. Since the unit was only 10 months old and still under warranty I called LG. Their response was immediate and a technician (tech) was at our home the next day. Upon arrival and inspection he made a few comments: (1) Why did we clean up the damages inside the unit? (2) What happened? (3) I need to call home office to talk to inside Tech.He made the call as we stood there and a Tech on the phone asked him to send a video from his phone with instructions from the Tech on the phone. Once completed he hung up and said this unit is fried and needs to be replaced but two Techs from home office had to review. Ten minutes later they called back saying it was customer error due to GREASE FIRE and they would not repair or replace. My only choice was to escalate the claim to LG management which I did. After sending them store receipt I asked for the denial and reason in writing which they absolutely refused to give me. The next day they emailed me to say they set up a Return Authorization Review and I should hear from them within 2-3 business days. It is now five business days with no response!I went to the store where I purchased the LG microwave, gave them my notes and asked for help. Once reviewed by store and they seen what LG was putting me through they said they would replace the unit. Would you buy another LG product after reading about this runaround? I would not but I certainly will purchase again from Best Buy as they stood behind a product that the manufacturer, LG in this case, would not.
Purchase our LG dryer a few months ago-It has a sensor that won’t let dryer dry at any setting, VERY POOR DESIGN- the lint trap is the main reason for the sensor stopping the dryer from drying—DONT PURCHASE ANY LG DRYER.
Purchased an LG front load wash machine July 2013. Unless the wash machine is running the door is left open. We are having terrible mold issues. I can clean the mold off of the rubber seal where it is visible but there is a lot of mold where the seal meets the drum and the rubber does not fold back. I have tried cleaning it with a toothbrush and bleach since my finger barely fits in the space but the smell is still horrible and there is no way to wipe the mold out of the small space. I know the problem isnt detergent because I only use one pod per load and dont use fabric softener. I would definitely not recommend an LG front load washer!!!
In summary we have bought LG Fridge and the first time it malfunction in less than 5 years the formal support in Egypt came. They took the malfunction electronic card but never showed up again for more than 3 months and left us with unfunctional fridge. Last week they returned it unfixed to tell us that we have a piece of scrap metal in our home that cannot be fixed by its own company!!! It is a total failure to be unable to fix your own products in less than 5 years for the first time it malfunction. I am searching for a lawyer to sue them.
My experience with this washer has been completely unacceptable. When attempting to run a small load, the machine shuts down completely during the spin cycle due to imbalance. On one occasion it took over three hours to complete a small load as the load had to be redistributed and the washer restarted on three/four separate occasions. When I e-mailed LG regarding this problem I was told to check the circuit breaker!! This is a design flaw. LG as well as some other manufacturers have eliminated the costly, heavy and expensive transmissions found in earlier washers with a system that just plain doesnt work. The agitation is so poor that clothing in the middle of the load barely gets wet much less cleaned. I am tired of removing dirty laundry from this machine after the load is done.
I spent $2379.00 for my LG Fridge Model number LFX21976ST/02. I have had it since 2011. Not long compared to every other refrigerator I have ever had. It had been a total piece of junk since I purchased. The ice maker never works. You have to unplug the door to the ice and chip the ice as it never comes down. The french door closure has broke and it a nightmare. It has to be closed in a certain order or it remains open. The only problem is, there is no indication it is open, so I have had spoiled food on at least 4 occasions. Now I find out the Compressor has gone out. In 5 years??? I live alone and its not opened and closed constantly. I will NEVER buy a product from them ever again. In fact Im throwing out this one and just going to get a new cheap one.
Updated 08/15/2019: I posted my original review of my LG refrigerator, but wanted to correct the model number. It is a Model LMXS30746S/00 instead of Model LMXS30776S. My wife ordered the latter originally, but it was on backorder (From LG, no surprise, right!). After waiting over a month for it to arrive, my wife decided to go with the LMXS30746S/00 instead. We received this refrigerator January 9, 2015. -As of August 15, 2019, I still have a non-working refrigerator, with a defective linear compressor. My original review of my refrigerator was on July 2, 2019. LG responded in writing, and other than a few phone conversations, of the which most were initiated by me, that is pretty much all this company has done to date. -On July 10, 2019, LG informed me that a technician was scheduled to look at my unit July 18, 2019. No technician, no courtesy call, no surprise. At the end of the day (still July 18th), I notified LG, and on July 30, 2019, they informed me that they were considering an alternate resolution. At that point, LG requested proof of purchase, which was provided a few days afterwards. LG responded August 5, 2019, and said my case was escalated to their Return Authorizations Department and informed me that instead of awaiting repair, they were going to go the alternate resolution route. LG informed me that someone should contact me from the Return Authorization Department within 4 business days. -On August 8, 2019, I received a call from a family member to inform me that a representative from A&E, LGs repair group, had contacted her about the refrigerator. I placed a call to A&E to no avail. I then called the Return Authorization Department. I was informed that they were still awaiting approval for the alternate resolution. She had no idea why anyone from A&E was trying to reach me. -Later on August 8, 2019, I received a call from LG informing me that a technician was scheduled to come look at my refrigerator on August 9, 2019. I was told this was a necessary step in the alternate resolution process. -August 9th came and went, and once again, no technician showed, no technician called. We did get a text of from A&E this same evening stating our appointment was rescheduled for August 19, 2019. No apology or explanation for the missed appointment though.-On Monday, August 12, 2019, I called LGs Return Authorization Department. I informed the representative about the missed appointment. She informed me that my case was still awaiting approval. The person responsible for making such decisions was away from the office, so she left a note and said she would get back with me to provide an update. As of 3:00 PM, I am in a holding pattern awaiting that call. Most likely, I will end up calling LG back. Original review 07/02/2019: I purchased an LG French Door refrigerator in 2014. In 2017, it stopped cooling, due to a noisy/failed Linear Compressor. Trying to hold LG up to their 10 Year Sealed System Warranty, which includes the compressor was/is a joke. I dont recall ever wasting as much time and getting the runaround on any product I ever purchased. I was first told that LG was going to take care of my issue, including labor, at no charge. I was given the name and phone number of the company that was to perform the work. After going a few weeks with no contact from this company, I called them. It was listed as a computer repair business, and all I ever got was an answering machine. I contacted LG again several times, expressing my dissatisfaction with the whole issue and the delay in having my issue resolved. Someone finally sent me a list of 5 repair companies and told me to reach out and choose one to repair the fridge. Well, I called 3 of the numbers, reached a voice mail for one, and spoke to representatives at two of the others. In both cases, the persons I spoke to said that they were not trained or authorized to work on LG Sealed Systems. At this point, I was really ticked off. How can a company that on the outside appear so great, be so badly run. Not only did I have a product that was worthless in its present state, but in the process of getting it repaired, find that this company doesnt even know who is authorized to make necessary repairs. I contacted the Marylands Attorney Generals Office to see if they could help me. They sent a few letters to LG, and LG responded, saying that they offered to supply a replacement compressor (which were drastically back-ordered due to their high failure rate), but that I did not accept their offer. LG said nothing about covering the labor for replacing said compressor as they said they would do at the beginning of my ordeal. Marylands Attorney Generals Office said my only recourse would be small claims court. Well, I thought I was ticked off before, but I discovered that I had another gear. I contacted LG once again, and expressed my frustration. I was finally connected to the group that handles technical issues. When I told the person where the refrigerator was, he told me LG did not have anyone nearby whom could fix it. I asked, how can LG put a warranty on something, knowing full well they did not have personnel who could make necessary repairs. The person told me that LG had personnel available to make warranty repairs on items, including appliances, just not in cases like mine. The LG refrigerator is in my garage, taking up space, at least until I build up enough energy to figure out what I am going to do with it. Through this whole ordeal, I have developed a disdain for The LG brand. I am not sure if this compressor issue, which has affected thousands of LG refrigerators, is being mishandled at the direction of upper management at the risk of cutting into profits, or if employees interfacing with customers like myself, are not following LGs we care for our customers slogan. LG - Life is Good, when you can treat people so bad and still rake in profits.
We bought an LG French door refrigerator in late 2017 and it worked without too many major issues, until October of 2020. In October, it suddenly stopped cooling. We called LG to have repairs made under the 3 year warranty. After many delays, they found a repair company in our area to come out to do the repair. They said it was the compressor, ordered a new one and replaced it. The refrigerator still doesnt work. We have been without a refrigerator now for over two months (for a four person household). I have called LG nearly every day, for the past 6 weeks. I have been elevated to the Executive Service response team. What a joke. I receive a different answer every time I call. After about a month of trying to find an authorized repair person to look at the refrigerator again, LG finally agreed to simply submit a claim for Alternate resolution; i.e. replacing the refrigerator. The claim has been submitted now at least 4 times; there is still no decision on whether or not they will honor our warranty. Every time I call (nearly every day now) I am provided with another excuse as to why there is no decision. This has been the worst consumer experience of my life.
LG has met my initial expectations. The best thing about the LG refrigerator was that it was cheap. I mean I had got the thing for like a 100 bucks or something. It was the best choice I ever made. The worst thing about the LG refrigerator was that I had to reset the power switch every time there was a power cut or something in the neighborhood.
My new fridge (LG LFX31925SW) looked great. Had the features I wanted at what I thought was a reasonable price $2300. Then crap happened. Within the first year I had two failures. A circuit board failed and the fans for the freezer would get covered with ice and failed. That was covered under warranty. No coverage for lost food. Fast forward 3 years and I had a similar experience as many others described with a failed compressor. $385 service call. When I brought this up at lunch with my co-workers every one of them mentioned having issues with an LG product. Needless to say I would never recommend or purchase an LG product again at any price.
We have contacted LG about the issue with their over the range $400 microwave door design flaw! After being ignored for several days, we sent the receipt and pictures of their product that was falling apart. I called and they said they are unable to provide us with a replacement door. Really? Is this is how they take care of their customers? They dont even provide you with options! We were not asking for a new microwave since it is out of the one year warranty. LG customer service is terrible. Obviously, we are not the only ones complaining about the door issue. I see other customers’ frustrations as well. Way to go LG. They should change their motto; instead of “life is good”, it should be “life is no good” (because we do not take care of our customers). The whole microwave function isnt working. Now, we are forced to buy a new microwave oven!
This is the worst company that I have ever dealt with. My fridge is 3 years old and the compressor had already failed. This is a common issue (that affects almost all units) that LG and technicians have accepted responsibly for. However what they fail to tell you is that after spending $2500+ on a new fridge, they will not offer assistance. Upon calling customer service, they even went as far as lying to me, by telling me that the product only had a 1 year warranty. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. SPEND YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY ON A MORE RELIABLE Product that will last you more than the years.
I purchased an LG French Door Refrig in Sep 2013 from HD at a hefty cost of $3,046, including 5 yr warranty. The fridge worked fine until 5 months after the extended warranty ran out. The units refrigerator and freezer areas stop cooling. I called LG service center and they diagnosed a failed compressor. They referred me to 5 authorized reps within 50 miles of my residence. None of the service reps wanted to touch the unit. They stated that LG refrigerators had high linear compressor failure rate plus LG was delinquent in remitting payment for their services rendered. LGs compressors are warranted for 10 yrs. but purchasers must pay for all labor and trip charges. The authorized reps stated the average cost of to replace the compressor was between $600-$1200. This is no way that I would invest this amount of money for such a high failure product. CAVEAT EMPTOR!!!
Ordered an LG fridge in December because its the only one that will fit in the space I have. Suppose to be delivered on Jan 19, 2019... The night before I got a call saying it wont be delivered because they dont have it. After many calls and the runaround I found out it was a system error and I will get my new fridge in a week. Still no fridge and still getting the runaround from customer service saying I shouldnt be calling them, Home Depot should... This is the worst company to deal with and I would love to return this fridge before it ever gets here. If it ever does! I am running a family of four and working full time with a beer fridge lent to me by Home Depot! Totally ridiculous, and very unacceptable. They are offering no compensation for my time or inconvenience of not having a fridge I ordered and paid for already!!!
Ive had a tech out 4 times already looking at my fridge that is only 8 months old. They replaced a compressor still not working. Now replacing two evaporator and maybe it will be fixed. Its been 6 weeks since my fridge has worked. How long is a person supposed to live out of a cooler after spending 2600 dollars on a fridge and it didnt last 8 months before going out. To people they sent out to repair it are screwing me around like Im not a big enough money making job to worry about. I call LG and they are totally useless. I should just talk to a brick wall I may get more out of it. Totally frustrated and cant get a hold of anyone higher up to talk to. I will never buy another product from them again.
I bought all new appliances for my kitchen... all LG. Love everything but the dishwasher! I never thought I had to read the manual to run this... but one day realized that the filter was really greasy and there was water standing in the drain. Then I found a quick guide with my papers that actually said to clean this filter every time you wash! The water never drains out which creates moisture even if you put a paper towel in it each time you use it! Really... Does a manufacturer expect you to clean the filter each time? Plus we dont ever put dirty dishes in it to begin with! Pricey item And LG wont back this up because I am beyond my warranty. Who has time for this!? Forget this product.
I have bought on 3/03/2012 with HHGREGG the Refrigerator, Stove and Microwave since was advice were the best, sure the best piece of trash. The refrigerator the ice maker gets jam. When called the technician said wait till it breaks completely. The Microwave the glass in the door came loose and the microwave extractor came on on its own. Been calling for 2 weeks. HHGregg and the warranty dept said won’t fix since it’s not mechanical and LG knowing it’s an ongoing problem said I am out of their warranty. FOR ALL THIS APPLIANCES BOUGHT A 5 YEAR WARRANTY!
Ive been trying for a month to get service on my dishwasher. Although the 1 year warranty is gone, the board is warrantied for 5 years. First time I called LG they gave me 2 phone numbers for 3rd party service in my area. I called them several times and never got a call back. I set out to look for my own 3rd party service and contact Sears because they advertise that theyll fix any appliance whether you purchased it from them or not. The repairman showed up this morning and told me that Id have to call LG to get approval from them to have Sears be the 3rd party vendor. The service fee would be $99. That was OK with me.I called LG and was told that they had a local LG authorized service in my city. I got transferred and spoke with them. I was told that they would schedule a repair if I paid $125 up front and then the charge me for the installation of the part (which was free). That would have amounted to over 30% of the total original cost of the machine. I have no idea what to do now. I was able to submit an email to service to see if I get a better answer. Regarding other reviews about how dishes stack inside the washer, I have to agree. I always had issues with glasses breaking because they fell over. I change the way I put them in. The thing I liked about the dishwasher was the short Turbo cycle. It was 58 minutes and did a good job. If you buy an LG Dishwasher be sure to purchase the extended warranty.
I purchased LG washer and dryer (WM8100HVA, DLGX8101V) at the end of November 2019. On Dec 7 I called LG warranty center and report problem with Dryer. Because Covid 19 the past two weeks I was not able to contact LG center. When I was able connected somebody on the line (person from Philippines) inform me my warranty expire a few day ago and they can send tech ($ 125 charge in advance no refundable for evaluation and the tech will quote the final cost of the repair). Is this is the LG policy to respond to customer during this Covid 19 when we try protect each others? (I dont wanted tech coming to my house and get infected.) After simple troubleshooting I realize the problem is electronic board EBR 765 195 14 which I ordered at Searsparts.com for $ 152. I see online customers review. This is a systematic problem with these types of LG dryer. The electronic boards are creating issues. Is the LG planning to recall this product?
I purchased an LG refrigerator model LFC25776 ST/06 in May 2013. A little over a year later, just out of warranty, it required its first service call to replace a fan geode. Now 2 1/2 years after the purchase, the compressor is shot and get this, although the compressor itself is covered by warranty, the labor is not! So Im out over $500 to repair a practically new refrigerator. When I told a neighbor, she said she had the same experience with her LG refrigerator. The compressor went out in under 2 years. There should be a class action suit against this company.
My LG refrigerator is only 4 years old and it has gone out twice already. I have lost everything twice, it just stops cooling and service is terrible. I called service and today is the 3rd of Sept. - they can’t get anyone out here till the 25th. What am I suppose to do until then???
This is long, lots to cover. When our old fridge died over Memorial Day Weekend in 2015, we were rushed to replace it --- and have regretted that ever since. We purchased an LG French door fridge at a major retailer, with just the one day to do research (because, our old one had died and wed already lost a couple hundred dollars in perishable food and had kids to feed). The linear compressor promised to be quiet, efficient, and durable - the literature boasts that an officially proven 20-year-durable lifespan realizes your peace-of-mind.At first, it was great - because it was new. Just ten months in, however, we began having problems as the fridge developed a clicking sound when the fan (compressor?) kicked on, and then a couple weeks later got an error code on the panel and the fridge stopped cooling. We lost another fridge full of groceries, and called LG for repair. It was well under warranty, being just one year old.The technician they dispatched called us before showing up, and told us this is a common problem - and that we have to defrost our frost-less new fridge when we hear that clicking because it means ice is building up inside on the fan. OK... So we did that, and the fridge began working again (this is in May/June 2016). Then, like clockwork yearly, we would hear the clicking and do the overnight defrost (2017, and 2018).So again it began clicking again in early July 2019, and we got ready to do the same thing - except instead, the fridge just quit working entirely on July 9th 2019 while we were at work and we came home to a flooded kitchen (from the melted ice) and once again, had to toss a fridge full of perishable foods (second time with this fridge). We unplugged it and left it overnight to defrost, as before, and plugged it back in on the 10th (empty). Left it for the day while at work, and when we came home the inside of the fridge was over 70*, clearly not cooling, but no errors on the panel, so I called LG for service on July 11th. This begins the worst customer service experience I have ever had with any manufacturer.July 11th: talked to condescending service rep who eventually agreed that we needed a service call. Scheduled it for July 16th (earliest available), and gave me a confirmation number which I read back. I arranged to take a half-day off work to be home for the 8-12 hour window. He says that luckily Im still within the 5-year warranty; I tell him my paperwork says it is 7 years warranty. He updates my account... Then assures me that the parts are covered under the warranty and I will only have to pay the labor for the service call.July 16th: at 11am, I called LG to check the ETA of the tech so I could update my office on when I would be in. Was told that my tech had just finished a call in a town 15 minutes from me, and that I was next on his list. At 12:15 still no tech, so I called back --- and was told that my service was completed. Spent quite a bit of time on the phone to learn that the confirmation number I was given was for someone else, and that I had no service call scheduled after all. I was quite angry, as Id stayed home for this and had been without a fridge for a week already. The person I spoke to said she was in the escalation department and she promised to call me within an hour with a resolution to get my fridge fixed, that her supervisors assured her it would be done that day.At 1:40 I called back (because, surprise - no call from LG and no tech) even angrier because I was no closer to a working fridge AND now Id lost a full day of work without pay. Im not allowed to talk to the same person I spoke to at 12:15, because she is helping other customers... Am told there is no way they can fix my fridge today but they will dispatch my call to an authorized service repair center, who would schedule a new service date. An hour later I get a call from said service repair center ---- who informed me that they dont service my area because they are in a different STATE. Yep, that last LG rep sent to the wrong repair center. So I call LG again (4th time this day), and this time Im told that I have to wait for the system to call me to schedule something, but that would be either today or tomorrow. Its 3:30 at this point. The rep cant help any further. Next day, by 4pm, still no call so I phone LG again. This rep tells me it can take 3-5 days for the system to call me to schedule something.... Each time I call, Im given a different scenario, none of which are getting my fridge fixed. The next day (July 18th), I get an email cancelling my appointment - which I havent been able to make so I dont know what this is for. July 19th: I call again because still nothing and its been ten days since my fridge broke. This rep is able to schedule a service call (what happened to the system??), and we set it for July 24th, next available day.July 23rd: given the absurd hassle Ive had to deal with to get this fridge fixed, I call in to confirm my appointment for the next day because I cant lose yet another day from work and have no tech show up. Am told parts were ordered on the 19th (which parts? the ones that always break, that fancy compressor that is supposed to be so great and durable but only lasted four years). This time the rep tells me that they have extended a courtesy warranty to cover the labor in addition to the parts, and that they received a couple of complaints. I have talked to 8 different LG customer service reps by this time, expressing many complaints from me on this whole fiasco, especially against that first rep who didnt bother to schedule a tech at all and cost me a days wages. The rep also said a grocery reimbursement would be sent in a couple of weeks for the inconvenience. This is the first Ive heard about this option.July 24th: my fridge is finally fixed, with a new compressor. The tech did not charge us for the visit, so at least that part LG honored. Fifteen days to get the fridge fixed, replacing a part that was the big selling point, four years and two months after we bought it. We lost tons of perishable food from the fridge and freezer (it holds a lot!), and two full days of work without pay. For two weeks weve had to eat out/eat convenience food because a picnic cooler just doesnt work that well to hold perishable foods that long, and its the middle of summer; it is an expensive way to eat! Now we wait for whatever grocery reimbursement they deem sufficient to compensate us, and count the days until the fridge breaks again, hoping it is still under warranty when it does. I dont trust this fridge at all. But we paid $3k for it, and cant afford to replace it yet. The environmental impact of manufacturers building appliances that fail after just a few years has got to be enormous and I wish there were lemon law type of things we consumers could count on for better durability.
Updated on 4/13/2021: After 4 weeks LG sent a repairman for my refrigerator that wasnt working. He said the relay switch was bad and would order the part and return the next day. He never returned. He also said not to run the refrigerator. It was a fire hazard. I contacted consumer affairs and received a can message from lg stating they were returning the unit and send phone number name and claim # which I did. I am now using the refrigerator for a cooler I get ice every day to keep things cold. This is completely unacceptable. How would you like to be without a refrigerator for a week. I purchased this refrigerator in November.Original review: I purchased my refrigerator 11/20. The freezer works but refrigerator doesnt. Currently 60 degrees. I have contacted customer service three times and have yet to see or hear from a technician. Reference **
Updated on 08/23/2019: After almost two month of not having a working refrigerator, today, finally, LG provided me with a solution. Which I do not satisfied at all. They disregard all the factors that because of their poor product quality, how much time and money I have wasted. It sounds that they were doing me a favor, and I should be appreciated. Again, they do not respect their customers. They do not care if they are going to lose a customer. They are so arrogant and not considerate. Their customer service is the worst of the all. Be careful if you decided to buy a LG product.Original review: Bought a not cheap LG refrigerator 2 years ago, it stopped working after two years. I called customer service, they came to fix it pretty fast. But two weeks later, my refrigerator stopped working again. I called customer service again, but this time, the technician never show up on time, and cancel the appointment without telling me. I still have a not working refrigerator at home as of right now. I tried to contact LG representative again, they cut my chat in the middle of our talking. Im extremely disappointed for LG product and services.
