We purchased an LG washer. I love the fact that without the middle paddle you can wash large items like king size spreads and comforters and all the clothes actually are treated more gently. I do not like buying new if the old is still working. Being able to get parts and having really good people who can and will work to keep the old model going. Regular repairs is a nightmare. Been there and done that, days without your appliance and you have to wash most days to keep the family in clean clothes and towels etc. Also low quality construction, which usually means noise pollution and the appliance walking all over the floor or pulling loose from the connections and the room being flooded. This LG washer that I bought was the same price as for the Maytag that I had purchased 20 years before. It is high quality construction, stays where it is supposed to when it spins. Large size drum that washes very small loads with much less soap and water, or very large items like winter coats, king size bedding, comforters, etc. One thing I do not like is that everything rinses in cold water no matter which setting you use, and I like to be able to decide what temperature I want for the wash cycle and the temperature I want for the rinse. But all in all, that is the only thing I do not like about these computer controlled washers.

6 days ago I called LG as my refrigerator of 2 yrs. died. They said they would get someone right on it... The case was being escalated!!! I have not heard anything. I have talked to supervisors and executive corp. supervisors and nothing. I will never buy another LG product, and you shouldnt either if you are reading this. 6 days of my life are gone and had to take time off work not to mention over 700 $USD of food spoiled! They must know this model has had issues but to just leave a good customer hanging is unacceptable! I have had to talk with 6 different people and 3 were supervisors at LG and no one is helping. DO NOT GET YOURSELF MIXED UP WITH THIS COMPANY, THEY COULD NOT EVEN FIND A REPAIRMAN FOR MY FRIDGE!

There is no butter keeper and small ice-maker storage w/o transfer to freezer problematic. Flip up shelf for tall items great asset. Deep shelves in one door also helpful. Ice dispenser sprays out crushed ice, making it hard to capture in a glass.

We bought a very expensive LG washer - dryer for our second home in London. Worked well even though perhaps only used 20 hours a year!!! Now after 7 years it did not dry anymore. We called out for servicing AND LG direct, paid 80 GBP to the servicing company only to receive the message, that spare parts are no longer available. LG answered, We would, sorry to say, throw the machine away and buy a new one. Result: Never LG again, throwing a complete nearly new machine away, is this green policy???

Beautiful refrigerator but....I have the black stainless and noticed peeling under the French door handles. I was told it was cosmetic and my responsibility. Then the compressor went out when not home. Lost a freezer full of meat and seafood as well as the refrigerator contents. When I contacted LG they claimed I would be responsible for third party repair. The retailer I purchased from informed me the compressor was guaranteed for 5 years! I once again contacted LG and a Tech was sent to check it. New compressor ordered and arrived the following day. Now the refrigerator is icing up behind a crisper. I was told it was not a cooling issue therefore my responsibility. Since when is over cooling not a cooling issue? I am thoroughly disgusted and disappointed since I have LG washer, dryer, range and TVs! All apparently short term purchases! Obviously MANY people are having issues! Don’t make our mistakes....Buy ANY brand but NOT LG!!

I used the oven for the first time 3 months after purchasing it and while the oven was cooling down after cooking in it, the glass door exploded. This range model has a double oven - a top small oven and a bottom large convection oven. I have used the top numerous times but this was the first time I used the large bottom oven. Being under warranty, I called LG and filed a claim. It took 2 weeks to get someone out to my house to evaluate the situation. Upon evaluation, I was told their findings would be reported to LG Warranty Department and the appropriate action would be taken. I just received a call from the repair company stating that LG will replace the glass in the door. I am a little worried about this because I kind of expected the entire door to be replaced. How will this affect the integrity of the door? What if it happens again? It could happen any time - most often during the self-clean cycle of the oven. I am very concerned and wish manufacturers would go back to the days of a solid oven door.

I just saw a lot of my relatives and friends own an LG refrigerator so I decided I might as well get one too. Its more because its popular and my local store had one on sale that I found very appealing. I really enjoy how slick and modern the design appears. Modern design is what I can really appreciate especially since it saves energy. But I realized that it comes with a lot of technology features that I really enjoy and find tremendously helpful. Honestly there is nothing I donit like about this refrigerator, very cool and very efficient at what it does, its technology is top-notch with a touch screen and the ability to save power, theres no reason not to love it.

I will avoid all LG products like the plague from now on! My smart top loading washer (recommended by Consumer Reports at the time) repeatedly gave the UE error. I called LG Customer Service for solutions to the problem. Their recommendation was to add/remove clothing to balance the load. Thats all the advice they had to offer. (Im sorry that I didnt have more dirty clothing to wash at that time. Apparently, they expected me to pull clean clothes out of my closet to balance the load!) When I operated the washer with no clothing in the machine, I realized the problem was with the washer - not my loading technique. After my water bill TRIPLED because of the huge amount of water used to attempt to balance the loads, I requested a service call. The technician informed me that the problem was due to a KNOWN software issue and all that was needed to fix the problem was a software update. I have no issue with this. What I do have an issue with is that LG Electronics failed to form consumers of this simple fix! Apparently, LG Electronics doesnt care about consumers- they just like to sell products. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on ME!

LG Sensor Dry - The plastic frame on the lint screen never fit right, clothes get caught on it and spin around each other and stretch out of shape. I had to hang dry any tank tops and anything with spaghetti straps. I just dried a load of clothes and 3/4 of the load came out in one large twisted heap -- 3 pairs of dress pants, 6 shirts, two pairs of sweat pants which were worn once and one nightgown is totally stretched, ripped and ruined. If you are considering buying LG dont!!! We also own the partner front loading washing machine and it is ruining our water pipes. Weve lived in this house for 20 years and never had to get pressure relief valves before to stop the hammering in the pipes caused by this washing machine. Life may be great for this company, but they should change the name of this company to LS -- life sucks!!

I like the cooling features and the design of the fridge. I also like the color and the fit in the kitchen. I purchased the machine about 6 years ago. For the last few years, rust has accumulated around the outside of the bleach dispenser (i.e., the area where you pour the bleach in to be dispensed later during the wash cycle). It is getting worse and covers a larger area as time goes on. According to the LG customer service, the cause is spilled bleach around the dispenser area and furthermore, they say, this is merely cosmetic and does not affect the function of the washing machine. I disagree.First, as noted, the area is growing. Second, there are stains on clothing after washing that are hard to explain any way other than something to do with the rust on the body of the machine. Finally, I do not believe it has anything to do with spilled bleach because there is a spout in the back of the machine that delivers rinse water and that spout is also rusting. It would be necessary for me to purposefully pour bleach over this spout, or wipe it on, in order to for bleach to cause the rust in that location. Like some other reviewers, I have had a few problems with a UE error message, but it usually works out. This could be because I do wash rather small loads and I tend to use the bulky bedding setting, even for small loads, to get enough water to thoroughly wash and rinse the clothes.Overall I am very disappointed with the LG and would prefer an agitator type machine in order to not use so much water for small loads. Thats what I will be looking for to replace this one - since spending even $300 for a technician to come and look at it seems excessive. I should add that three years ago I purchased another LG machine for a different location; at that time there was no rust on my home washer. The newer machine has been used rarely because it is in a vacation house. Nonetheless, after approximately 100 uses, the circuit board quit and the machine is dead. Naturally it is out of warranty, so getting rid of it seems the only sensible solution.

Well LG you have a lot on your plate right now and thousands of consumers without refrigerators due to your faulty compressor problems. Mine has been out since last Wednesday and LG cannot find anyone to service their product even their LG technicians aren’t available. Living out of 3 coolers and had to buy a box freezer. Now on my way to buy a used refrigerator because not knowing how long this issue is going to take! Was reassured that I would be reimbursed for buying the box freezer, food spoilage and old refrigerator. My case was sent to regional manager and being review while being told I’d be called back in 3 to 5 business days with a resolution to replace or give me my money back if I pass the review and if they cannot find anyone to come out and fix it. I don’t want to ever own another LG product let alone have them come out and replace the compressor with the same faulty issues to have it break down again in which it would. I also have a 1,000 dollar LG dishwasher and 6 months ago the top digital touch board went out! 1 year later! They replaced that and praying it doesn’t go out again. So now playing the waiting game. Don’t buy LG. Appliances will never be made the same way that they were years ago in the 70’s and 80’s to last a lifetime. I have reviewed just about every brand out there and all I find is garbage reviews!! What the hell can you buy that’s reliable anymore!

Two weeks the parts came in and two men worked all day and it still didnt work but I was still charged. The repair man said it may have been a bad board and ordered another one. It came in but he ordered the wrong one. Now another two weeks and it is to be installed tomorrow. The service dept at Freds said they will sell me another one at their cost. BFD just cant get anyone to show some responsibility. LG service is a joke and the people I spoke to were rude and told me too bad there is nothing I can do. Anyone want to start a lawsuit?

Purchased LG French Door fridge in March 2016. Compressor went out while on vacation June 2017. Out of Warranty, we purchased extended warranty. Made a call on Monday, repairman came on Wednesday - diagnosed with compressor issues - even said we were lucky to get a year out of the fridge. He had no compressor on the truck - although its the most common problem. Friday, we contacted LG service again to get a time frame of repair. (We had company visiting from across the country.) They said they had to contact repairman. Repairman had not been able to make the report to warranty company because the line was always busy when he called. Their response was, we have to report this to our higher department. It will take 1-2 business days to get a resolution. (That meant a minimum of 3 days due to it being Friday.) Looks like we will be without a fridge for a minimum of 2 weeks... Never had an issue this frustrating.

It doesn’t dry clothes, sensors all go off and now I’ve contacted LG, they sent Callahan’s repair, they said I needed a part. I waited a week and then they cancelled the appt. I now am waiting for an “outbound” segment of LG to contact me to try and get a new company to fix the problem. This is while being placed on hold for at least an hour. I bought this microwave oven (Model LMV1813ST) August of 2013. Its warranty ran out a year later or August 2014. Within months, the front door of this unit came apart. The outer glass fell down and the whole door disintegrated. I called LG customer service and they initially said they would assist me with its repair then they pretty much blew me away. They gave me the name of an authorized repair shop that quoted me a repair bill far more than the unit is worth in the market new. I asked LG to reconsider and provide me with a number for upper management. They asked me for photos of the unit and its defective door then they pretty much have ignored me. They did not do anything and would not give me a number to corporate or management where I could have address the issue further. I must mention that like other consumers I bought two other appliances at the same time. All have had problems but fortunately for me it happen prior to the end of the warranty period. I believe it is fair to say that these LG products are cheaply made and not meant to last very long. LG tries to sell you over and over again an extended warranty for its products and it appears to be part of this corporate greed to gain profits on known defective products. I have looked at this microwave oven and its construction is not made to withstand the heat from the stove below for very long. The whole plastic door becomes unglued from the moisture and the heat naturally emanating from the stove while cooking is underway. The microwave is not made to withstand normal use for very long. It must be an obvious known fact to any industrial or appliance design engineer that the unit will not last. I do not believe LG should be allowed to be in the market to sell defective products at the expense of the consumer’s safety and pocket book. I would like a government agency to look into the LG quality control (if there is any) and sue this company for malfeasance and intentional sale of defective goods for consumer’s households. I would like to see a class action suit against LG. Do not buy an LG product. I will tell all I know my experience with LG appliances and other goods. I have bought other LG devices, which also have broken down within days of purchase. I can prove and attest to what I am writing here.

We ALWAYS bought SEARS products, so when the time came to purchase a new refrigerator, we went to our local SEARS store. We bought one with a bottom freezer (LG). Its beautiful, BUT started malfunctioning less than 1 year later (it wouldnt stay cold). After several calls (and hours of being on HOLD) to their customer service department, and answering the same questions over and over, I finally reached a sympathetic rep who actually listened and realized that my fridge was STILL under the manufacturers warranty, as well as the purchased extended warranty. She ordered a replacement refrigerator, and we got it about 10 days later. Two years after receiving the 2nd fridge, that one started malfunctioning! We opted to get the home warranty, but still had to pay around $600 out of pocket. Now, another two year later... here we go AGAIN!!! Same fridge, same issue. But, due to the pandemic, we tried to lower our expenses, and recently cancelled the home warranty. So, again on the phone with SEARS trying to see if there was anything that could be done (like maybe there was a recall on this model). Now some may say Bad luck, but I say CHEAP QUALITY... Do not buy LG or Sears products!! BUYER BEWARE!!

I purchased an LG refrigerator in 2012 and it worked until the compressor died in 2019. The compressor was under warranty and LG agreed to provide a replacement at no cost, I just had to pay to install it. The service tech called LG and was instructed to install a universal compressor, which is not an exact replacement. He did but soon found that the compressor was incompatible with the electronics board on my fridge and would not work. LG want $240 for a board that will work with the substitute compressor. I called LG and they were inflexible. From my perspective, they installed a compressor that was not compatible with my fridge. Why should I have to pay $240 to replace a perfectly working electronics board to make their substitute part work? It cost less than $10 to manufacture an electronics board. Installing a substitute part that requires the purchase of a $240 board is an attempt to turn a loss (providing a compressor for free) into a profit (sale of an over-priced board).

I WAS in love with my new fridge. The 25 cu ft. capacity is just the right size for my family of 5. (We also have a deep chest freezer for handling all the meat, icecream tubs, etc). The dual ice makers really come in handy when the ice maker on the door cannot handle the load. (Its quite small, so in summer months, or with guest over, you run out of ice quickly). It has plenty of space and looks gorgeous. Flash forward 4 months 2 weeks later... compressor goes out. I call LG about this issue... and the frustration begins. The incompetent reps on phone tell me that the reason my fridge is not cooling is because I have the temp setting at 2 degrees instead of at 0 degrees for the freezer, and 37 degrees instead of 35 for the upper portion. Ok, a whole two degrees will make my fridge cool. Then they went on to perform this gimmicky smart diagnoses that the unit is equipped with. She did not want to sent a technician out because the smart dx told her that there was nothing wrong with the fridge. Meanwhile there is water all over my kitchen floor because all the ice was thawing and melting out of the unit. I called on a wed. On a Friday a certified LG tech came out. Told me the compressor is dead and that it would be Monday before he could repair it. So now I have been without a fridge for days, with 3 young children in the house.I have called LG and voiced the fact that this is unacceptable for a 2k fridge. The rep proceeded to tell me I would only have to pay for service call! How is it that when you are still under warranty you have to pay for the service call? The technician shook his head in dismay. He could not believe what he was seeing. I placed the call on speaker for him to listen to the ridiculousness by the rep. After my unit seemed defective, I went online and have read tons of reviews on LG fridges needing major repair within the year, and am afraid I was sold a lemon. I want a replacement or my money back. They have not contacted me. I have called and have been hung up on. I was also hung up on, right in front of the technician! You think you are buying a nice piece from a reputable trustworthy company, and the fact is all the contrary. I am so disappointed.

Our LG gas dryer quit drying. The motor would run and the drum would turn. Also, air came out the vent but no heat. We called Sears Service and they came out. The technician took the dryer apart and after a few minutes discovered that close to the burner is a resettable thermostat all hidden underneath and of course, nothing in the manual mentioning a resettable part. Good design would have made that something the owner could find and reset. (Were not all idiots.) The manual, which is best described as poor pidgin English. We have had a great deal of trouble getting clothes completely dry. I am disappointed in the quality of a machine which was very expensive.

Our 34-month-old WM3370HVA front load washer started making loud noises and smoking on Aug 20. Here it is Oct 30 and the machine cannot be repaired because not parts have been available. We have submitted our complaint numerous times via LGs website to receive a call back within 24 hours, as the website claims. No return call has been received. We went to Pacific Sales in Best Buy to get their help. The rep spoke with LG customer service and said we would receive a call from LG. That never happened. After several failed attempts to get assistance we spoke with Brenda at ext ** in Alabama. She said she would research our complaint and get back within 24 - 48 hours. That never happened.Oct 17, I spoke with Wendy because Brenda was not available to learn the parts would be at the warehouse tomorrow. Wendy said she would email Brenda and the repairman to notify them. Still have not heard from Brenda. The repairman said he could not do anything until we requested a new work order, by calling LG customer service. Oct 19, after 48 minutes on the phone with various reps and hearing the your time is very precious to us recording 48 times, the call was disconnected. Did the rep call us back? NO!Called customer service again to get an appointment for the repair. They had Monday and Tuesday, next week available. We will be out of town visiting a terminally ill family member and need an appointment after our return on Wednesday. Sorry, they cant schedule that far in advance. We suggested that perhaps there was someone in the company that could schedule an appointment more than one week in advance. The rep said she would see what she could do and call us back. That call has not happened. So two months dealing with LG to repair an expensive machine malfunction is still unresolved. We will never buy another LG product. Avoid LG if at all possible!!

When we built a custom home two years ago we thought we researched for the best front load washer available for our laundry room at the time. My wife and I decided that Consumer Report would be the best reference point. DO NOT GET LED DOWN THIS PATH. We purchased the Front Load LG WM8000HVA. After a year our clothes started to smell so we ran some cycles with bleach, then vinegar, then AFFRESH. Nothing helped... NOTHING.Just go online and see thousands of reviews for front load washers. I dont think it is just the LG. I think it is a problem for all front loads. My wife has a great nose and with that comes a lot of complaining. The solution was difficult but easy: I bought a new $1200 LG WT7600KKA yesterday from Best Buys in Louisville, KY. Giving our current front load to charity.

Purchased an LG Door-within-a-door Refrigerator in July 2017. On September 6, 2020 the unit failed and we woke the next day to find all the food in the freezer was soft and the refrigerator was warm. Because of the holiday we had to wait 2 days to get a repair man to diagnose the problem... only to find out that no one in our area would service LG refrigerators due to consistent problems with warranty issues.3 calls to the LG 800 Customer Service center provided additional frustration due to the artificial intelligence support person taking information and then stating that it was a warranty issue and I would be handed off to a live agent... only to have the call dropped after 45 seconds of Muzak. I then went to the web site customer support and after providing all the information again to the service bot I was handed over to a live agent, and had to repeat all the information since he could not access the service bots data. After a 20 minutes of review and discussion it was determined it was probably a warranty issue and he authorized a repair ticket to be sent to an authorized repair tech, and after a 5 minute search reported that he could not find an available repair tech in my locality, but he would e-mail with the information. He did e-mail a name and contact information of a repair service and said I would get a call from them to set up the appointment, and if I didnt hear from them within 7 days to call LG back. The repair service called the next day September 9th and gave me a tentative appointment for September 17th to replace the compressor, assuming that LG sent the correct part on time. This was their 1st available appointment as they had that many LG compressors failing. Today September 15th I received a call stating that the compressor had not shipped yet and the anticipated receipt gave a new install date of October 2nd.... 25 days after the refrigerator failed! Never again will I consider an LG product.

LG 4 door French Door Refridge. I purchased a Refrigerator in December 2016
LG 4 door French Door Refridge. I purchased a Refrigerator in December 2016 which makes it 3 years old, in April 2019 I had to have a new compressor installed already, now both the freezers are creating snow and ice and I cant open the drawers. I called and they told me that I had to defrost the entire refrigerator/freezer first and wait 8 hours. Not only did I do that I waited two days to make sure everything was dry, once I determined that it was, I plugged the unit back in, overnight it started to create ice and snow again. I called back, after 45 minutes on the phone with someone I could hardly understand, giving them every number possible and all the info, they pass me to the scheduling dept to have someone come out to look at it, they charged me $125 up front service fee just to have tech come out to my home, that does not include the repair or parts, really! This is only a three year old appliance, that has had problems already, what piece of junk. I am 55 years old and for once in my life I was able to afford a better product, well that was what I thought I was getting, paying a heavy price for the refrigerator, I thought LG was supposed to be a great product, well WRONG, they truly dont care about us, they want us to do all this troubleshooting first, I dont pretend to be an engineer, they should be sending out a tech for free especially for a three year old unit. I am so disgusted with LG. I will never purchase any of their products again. I am sure this refrigerator will cause me so much grief and money that I will have to get rid of it. And furthermore, I have a 20 year old GE refrigerator in my garage that I have never had to have any service on and it stills works great, just a little rust on it, so I moved it to the garage, It beats LG for sure. BUY AMERICAN FOLKS!

Im on Day 5 without a refrigerator. It started with one of the two ice makers quitting. Service Call to LG difficult to understand, but we shook the freezer and would wait 24 hours to see if that worked. Threw out a lot of food. I requested a service call but was denied. After 24 hours, the entire refrigerator stopped working. Call #2, and throw out the rest of the food. We were told to pull the refrigerator from the wall and unplug it, and run a phone check through their system. Advised to wait 24 hours because it seemed to the operator that it was fixed. Woke up to water all over the floor. The machine is humming but its not cooling. 75 degrees on interior thermometer. This was the third call and a service call was placed on our behalf. Finally, request for service call was authorized. Wait wait wait. Holiday week-end. Service called Tuesday and appeared Tues. Reported the compressor and panel needed to be replaced. Wait for two more days while the parts are obtained. THIS IS A NIGHTMARE! Why did I think LG was the best there was? I will get this repaired and forget about buying the other kitchen appliances to match it. Good point $300 food reimbursement will be provided because I have a service plan. A drop in the bucket and 7 days to resolve a refrigerator issue is crazy. My dad had heart bypass and was working fine within 5 days... If I owned LG, I would have brought me a new refrigerator the first day I called.

Back in 2012, I purchased $8000 worth of LG appliances for my kitchen and laundry. Long story short I have replaced the dishwasher, it could not be repaired. In September of this year, the microwave exhaust had a mind of its own. It would come on and off by itself. To use the it I would plug it in and unplug it. The part to repair it was more than half the price of a new one. In September I purchased the model LMH2235ST. A short time later the exhaust fan stopped working. I called customer service more than a dozen times. They gave me a case number and said they will call when to set up a date to come and repair. After many calls to them they kept saying they would expedite it. I have heard that several times more. I have asked them to send another to my home with a return label, but they said they could not do that. I called customer service just now December first, now I dont even get to speak to anyone, the recording says to go online. So thank you LG for nothing!!

We purchased this refrigerator in May 2015. Ice maker has always been marginal, but this last week after we got home from a few days away, we found the refrigerator and freezer not working. No error codes, so we tried a power reset. Still no cooling or freezing. We called the appliance repair from the store we purchased from and their technician came out and verified the compressor had failed. He said their shop would contact LG about getting a repair estimate. We had purchased a 5 year warranty, but were 15 months out of coverage. Started to investigate if this was a common problem and lo and behold, we find there was a class action suit against LG for defective linear compressors. Our model was in the affected date range, however the settlement only covered 5 years after purchase for parts and labor. We are now waiting for a repair estimate. LG compressors are not reliable. Do your own research. These fridges are advertised as saving money, but when you spend over $2000 for a piece of junk that only lasted 6 years, do the math. They are not cheaper to own. We went shopping for a replacement and told the sales lady our experience with LG refrigerators and she commented that several of her customers had conveyed the same story about failed LG compressors. It is probably going to make more sense to just purchase a new refrigerator, given the cost of repair labor. Rest assured, it will not be LG or any other LG product in the future. LG is not Life is Good. It is Lucky Goldstar. Our luck ran out.

Thousands of dollars in damage! We purchased LG model lfx25971sb with french doors and an external ice delivery system. The initial problems, within a week of delivery, were with the ice maker that was constantly messing up, leaking, not working. The list of problems with the ice dispenser are numerous. The next issue came in about 11 months when I noticed that the cabinet next to the unit was showing cracks in the finish. These are maple. Perplexed, I pulled the unit out and found that a small pin-hole had burst on the water line leading up to the dreaded ice maker. The hardwood floor underneath was stained and buckling so the leak had been there for awhile. With both of these service issues, I got horrible customer service from LG. With regard to the water line needing repair, my cost. Then on Sunday, while walking across my kitchen floor, I nearly tripped over the buckled wood floor at least 5 feet from the unit. Now, it was gushing water from underneath! The service guy that showed up today said a valve blew out and that it is not covered by the warranty. This wreck of a machine has ruined my kitchen floor and the poor excuse for a company will not do a thing about it. Repair bill around $180; floor and cabinet repair, thousands. I also purchased a washer/dryer set. It took four months to get the washer working. This time they finally owned up to the problem and replaced a part but four months before, it never worked.

We were building a new house and were looking for appliance packages. We really liked the appliance package and LG refrigerator because it had this cute little window in the door. It was a good price as well, and we liked the refrigerators features. The little window in the door is my favorite. The refrigerator has French doors and I can open just that part, like a little window door, of the top door and keep stuff in there. We had some issues, though, with the water dispenser on the front of it. The repairman called it a continuous water feature. It wouldn’t shut off when you press your water on it. It kept going on with water or ice until you locked it. So we had to have it repaired probably within the first month we had the refrigerator. But since then, it has worked fine. I’m pretty happy with my LG refrigerator.

It takes 3 cycles of 1:10 minutes to dry a normal load of clothes. I have to add vinegar to a load of sweats, to help with the smell. That is on top of a fabric softener. We had to special order the size and we couldnt have made a better pick. Its sleek and has plenty of room despite being smaller than the standard fridge. I like the bottom freezer, it has a drawer so it really maximizes the space in the freezer. If I had to change anything it would be on the outside. Because it is a smooth shiny black, fingerprints show badly on it as well as any dirt or food so I constantly have to wipe it down which isnt a dealbreaker for me because Im OCD anyway.

I will never buy another LG product again. This microwave needed major repairs within 18 months of my purchase. The first repair happened when it was still under warranty but I had to pay for service and when the second repair was needed, the warranty had expired. I called LG to ask for a warranty extension with the argument that a relatively new appliance should not need major repairs twice. In fact, the microwave I had replaced with the LG was over 10 years old and had never needed a repair. I replaced it because it was old looking and I was remodeling my kitchen. LG would not extend the warranty and the repair with service would cost more than replacing it. I argued that they should replace my microwave but was denied. Again, I will never buy an LG appliance again.

I tried to make sure doors were sealing fine, they were. I called LG. They said it might of done an auto defrost. I was told to unplug it and it would reset it that temp would return to normal in 12 hours. We woke up the next day to a flooded floor. All food in freezer was defrosted. Refrigerator was at 65*. I did the smart diagnosis again. It said it was fine. Called LG and sent them the diagnosis and they said to unplug and wait 6 hours. I lost all food and temp Kept dropping. I was told to put food in coolers. Most was trashed. I was told they could send a repair person in 2 weeks!!! I did the best I could with food in coolers but lost it all. LG was not helpful.A repair person came out earlier than quoted and it seemed to be working (known compressor failure) yet now temp is plummeting again. At this point I just want a full refund to buy a new non LG fridge. I’m hoping temp increases, yet I just emptied ice so hopefully if it fails it won’t ruin my new floor. I just bought food to replace the food lost. I have no other fridge at my home. 4 days and it’s not working again. Bought this machine did about 10 loads (very lg. cap.) then had to move. Just before moving I received a letter from LG, didnt open it just put it in the lower drawer of the front load dryer bought at the same time. Had to put unit in storage for a little over a year. Finally got it set up again (both times moved by professional movers). The dryer was missing a leg, and when I read the letter it said dont use the washer unsafe and there is a recall. Wait to do laundry. He comes out switches a elec. board and tells me the life of the unit is about 5 yrs. They are filling our landfills and should have bought a Maytag simple unit with no bells and buzzers, will outlast anything! Do a load of colors and had a DL code pop. Played with shutting it off and got it to work. Two weeks later a load of white (all my undergarments). Come down in the AM before work on Friday and all the lights are on with the same code. Played with it the same way but nothing. DL code is door lock. Get out the guide and it tells me the unit needs service. Now Im pissed need to be at work and all my undergarments are locked in the machine. Call LG and speak with Sue with a Philippine accent, I could go on about this but wont. She tells me it needs service for sure its no longer under warranty and it will cost $89 and they could have someone out Monday. I hit the roof. This machine did about 10 loads before storage, since then had to be serviced before my first load and now needs to be fixed on the 2nd! What am I to do call in? Go and buy new underwear? When Sue came back to tell me she checked and the soonest service could be done was Monday and asked those? She said, Do you want me to see if someone can come out sooner? I thought thats what you were doing! I was thinking, What do you do in the Philippines go to work in dirty underwear?! Supervisor comes in at 8am so we will see? By the way the dry leg ordered also by a Philippine lady came wrong and reordered what I was told is now the right one?! I WONT BUY LG AGAIN! DONT BUY LG! LG SUCKS!

I purchased an LG French door, two draw bottom freezer (Model No.: LMX25981ST) in July 2008. After only three years, the fan and motor for the water and ice maker has gone out. LG states that the refrigerator is out of warranty and there is nothing they will do to help. Really? You would think that if you paid close to $3,000 for a refrigerator that it would last a little longer than three years. LG customer service sucks and nobody should ever buy any LG products because they will end up costing a lot of money in repairs in the long run. Once again, LGs customer service is awful. Calls got dropped etc. New knobs with the same poor design cost $40.00 each! I did not replace them. I used glue and nylon ties to hold them on. The flames are all uneven and the metal covers are de-laminating. The knobs now are peeling from heat. I have decided not to buy any more LG products. It’s the only way to fight back obsolescence.

Purchased stove, dishwasher, microwave, refrigerator on May 07 2017. On 8/16/2020 our refrigerator stop working. Check the owner manual to see if there something we can but nothing, call LG customer service and was told that they need 48 hour for the repair to be approved, call this morning and was told that they have available 08/25/2020. This is unacceptable due to the fact that is almost brand new, we lost most of the food and by the way our dishwasher is not working either. Call two months ago and we was told that we need to pay for the repair, when I was told the the motor has ten years warranty and the error code that is giving is the motor.

I purchased an LG dishwasher for my newly renovated kitchen, it was professional installed the first of May right before the final acceptance of the renovation. The plumbers tested the dishwasher and all appeared ok, I never had a chance to even use it once. On May 9th I walked into the kitchen to find three inches of water in the kitchen and dining/living rooms, with water pouring out from the dishwasher. It was inspected by the factory rep from LG that a clip on one end of water hose was missing and determined this was a factory defect. Since there was extensive damage to three Persian rugs floating in water, furniture and areas behind the newly installed cabinets I filed a claim with LG and after 4 months they still have not made a reasonable offer to reimburse me for the damages their defective product caused. Very very poor customer service. Will never purchase another LG product and would not recommend their products to anyone.

I am the same person who reported a problem with a Magic Chef under-the-counter microwave that gave up the ghost after 3 years. I had purchased the Magic Chef microwave oven and an LG Electric Range (LSB5682SW/SB/S) at the same time from Home Depot. Now, the LG Electric Range has a malfunction with an oven sensor. I went to an appliance parts department for a replacement, only to be told they couldnt sell me one because LG will not allow anyone other than their service people to install it. I checked online and the price is $19.35. After I removed the rear cover plate, the sensor, held on with two screws, took me a couple of minutes to remove. My complaint is twofold. First, what right does LG have telling the home handyman he cant fix his own property after a warranty runs out? Second, why do these more expensive items fall apart shortly after the warranty expires? Mostly, why arent these companies held responsible until someone with some authority gets involved? After posting this rant, there is a box to tick asking if I want an attorney to contact me about my complaint. I thank Consumer Affairs for offering me that option, but it would be cheaper to buy a new appliance and thats the problem. LG, Magic Chef, and other appliance companies know this and are counting on it. New technology? Another money-maker for the greedy companies. The one thing I am glad I didnt do was to purchase the two-year extended warranty. Both appliances failed a few days after the warranty expired. Consumer, beware.

I bought my LG Refrigerator LFX28968ST March 2015 and after 3 years my compressor breaks. A repairman came to my house and charged me $450 in labor to install the new part. LG covered the part but I had to pay the labor. I wasn’t very happy about the situation but I had no other options but to pay. The repair man installed the new compressor and the refrigerator seemed to be cooling. The next day the refrigerator stopped cooling again. I called the repair man and he came back out to my house worked on the refrigerator for about 1 hour 1/2 and told me everything was working properly. The next day refrigerator stopped cooling again. I called the repairman. He came back out to my house for the third time and spent another hour 1 1/2 working on the refrigerator supposedly fixed it. The next day still not cooling. Called the repairman and he told me he was going to refund me all my money and I needed to buy new refrigerator because it is a lemon. I spent $2800 on this refrigerator and it cannot be fixed. I will never buy any LG products again.

LG Range #LRE30453ST - Never used convection oven. Good thing after reading others. Hardly used oven and it stopped heating. Service tech replaced control and it worked twice and stopped heating again. Now says needs new control panel which tech says they no longer make and this problem was a recall. He said they will either replace with new range or pay me. I call LG and they say they do still make the part but it is on 2-3 week back order and cant tell me if it is different than the one I had that was recalled for design problems. So if I ever go get the new panel, what assurances do I have that it wont happen again? None. This range is a problem and the company should be taking better steps to resolve. Does anyone know if there is a class action suit going on this? I will NEVER buy LG again. Right now my whole kitchen is LG. NEVER AGAIN! Do not buy..... I rate them zero stars but you require at least one to submit so let that be minus one.

We purchased the refrigerator the first of the year, 2015. After four years it stopped working. We called the company for them to schedule a repairman to come out. When we didnt hear back within a couple of days we called back. They told us that the serviceman was too far out and wouldnt come. They had not told us nor scheduled for someone else to come out. So after speaking with him again he scheduled for another serviceman to come out. Over the next few weeks and numerous servicemen it went something like this: 1. Sorry, I dont have the expertise to work on these. 2. I dont work on any with the Freon problems. 3. I wont work on them because we have a dispute with LG.4. Too far for me to travel to your city from here.LGs reputation precedes them. One repairman asked me if I knew what LG stood for. He saw my puzzled look and replied Lost Groceries. After two or three weeks we finally get a repairman that can work on our refrigerator. But oops, the company sent the wrong compressor to our home for him. More wait to get another one and schedule another date. This was February of this year, 2019. We lost everything in the frig and they would not reimburse us because we didnt have the sales receipt. They knew by their records where we purchased it from, the date, the date of registration and we sent them the bill of lading from the store. It was not good enough. I tried to come to terms with all of it and just be happy it was working again.Forward a few months to July 3, 2019 and our refrigerator is once again not working. We will lose all the food that was just purchased. They scheduled for a serviceman to come out but we dont know if it is one they called before that cant/wont work on it or not until they come. I fear it is going to be another two to three week ordeal again. And I dont know how long the fix will last. I just want to unload this refrigerator and get something of quality that I know will work. I loved the look of the frig and thought it would be a dream to have but instead it is a nightmare. I would never again purchase an LG product. I wish I had read reviews before purchasing it. I hope this review will help someone considering this same purchase.

We purchased our refrigerator in August 2016. In February 2019 it stopped freezing and cooling. I called LG and the customer service (800 243 0000) and was scheduled for a service call the following morning. Based on the description of the problem the customer service rep advised there would be no charge for the service call or repair. (She didnt advise why, I didnt ask because I was thrilled after reading the other horror stories on this site.) The technician, Bryan ** called me about 15 minutes after the call to confirm our appointment the following morning and ask me about the problem so that he could ensure he had what he needed on the truck to make the repair. The next morning Bryan called when he was on his way to my house. (Within the time window that was scheduled. Another thing that doesnt happen that often that people actually show up in the time frame they are supposed to.) He began working at 10AM and finished by just after 11AM. He would courteous and very competent in making the repair. It turned out to be a failed/faulty compressor which was replaced with a new one. I already loved the fridge, I am extremely pleased with the customer care by all three LG employees I worked with in this transaction. Thanks!!!

Bought a LG Dishwasher, LG Fridge, and LG range. All look very smart! Dishwasher ran for 6 months, then noise started. Engine issues. Fixed on warranty. Broke again. Advised to replace unit after it failed again after warranty. Fridge plastic rakes broke. Replaced on warranty. Cheaply made poor design. Broke again after warranty. Last night the light/control unit caught fire and melted the inside top of unit. Temp was very hot and filled with smoke. Found out from former service company that there is a call back due to fire hazard. They service all major appliances. They will not service LG. Called LG. They did not offer much until I raised the service bulletin. Range: electronic board fried and was replaced on warranty. Now off warranty, two elements are burned out. Called LG and asked for parts. Refused. They will send a repairman?

We bought a gas LG range in November 2017, we got the matching refrigerator
We bought a gas LG range in November 2017, we got the matching refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave and range after we bought a new house. We did not start using it until February 2018 when we moved into the house. Since that time the oven would periodically say it was at temperature but when you open the oven to put in whatever you were cooking you could tell that it was not up to temperature. At first it was sporadic and I thought at first I was doing something wrong. Then it was every time that you would try to use the oven it would not stay up to temperature. Called and got a repair person to come out, under warranty, and we were told the ignitor was bad and it was replaced. It was less than a month later that it was doing the same thing. The repair person came out again, said again it was an ignitor issue. Ignitor was replaced again. (This time it was not within the warranty period.) Its been a couple months since the ignitor was replaced for the 2nd time and it is doing it again. I will never buy another LG appliance again. When you own an oven you expect that you can use it. Just thankful that the neighbor doesnt mind me using their oven to cook my meals.

Love my LG washer and dryer. The steam function on both has been a great way of taking care of wrinkles and freshness. The quick wash function is exactly that - super quick. I am pleased with how well it cleans all types of fabrics. My only criticism would be the sensor function on the dryer. It is the same complaint I have regarding all sensor type dryers though - they really don’t do a great job and you often come down to find the dryer off and the clothing still damp. The time dry function and personalized functions are very good though.

Ice maker cannot make enough for drinks for a dinner party of 4 throughout the evening. 3. Ice maker chute flap door will not close and allows ice to melt and then freeze and clogs chute. 4. Spending nearly $900 on my LG washing machine was the single biggest waste of hard earned money I’ve ever experienced. This thing is not worth the box it came in. It’s the worst household appliance I’ve ever owned. Since my purchase I’ve read countless reviews saying the exact same thing. It’s not at all unusual to spend between 12 and 36 hrs to actually get a load of clothes washed after continuous malfunctions. We are literally hauling it to the landfill. This machine would be an insult to give to someone else. I will most definitely not ever purchase another LG product. BE WARNED... Do your research and check reviews before wasting your money on any type of LG washing machine. This product doesn’t even deserve 1 star. Customer service is non-existent so don’t waste your time trying to get help, they could literally care less about any problems you might be having.

I bought my refrigerator (LG Refrigerator LFXC24726S/02 MODEL#502krpv10848) 8/17/2015 at Plessers in Babylon. I also purchased the extended warranty. Since I purchased the unit there was a problem with the motherboard computer within the year because it was covered under the manufacturers warranty. July 21, 2018 my refrigerator stopped working and I called the warranty and they sent Mr. Appliance out on 7/26/18. The first visit the repairman Rob said it was a Freon leak and they had to come back to determine where the leak was coming from. I had to reschedule and they came back on 8/1/18. The repairman Bob, said that it was the compressor that had to be ordered directly from LG. He said it could take awhile. I called last yesterday afternoon after repairman had left and every time I called it was a picked up and then a hang up all afternoon. I spoke with LG today and was hung up on. I have been without a refrigerator for almost 2 weeks and I have 3 teenagers with no fridge. We are living out of coolers! I have called LG, NEW LEAF (warranty company), Mr. Appliance, and the retailer Plessers. Everyone keeps passing the buck and doesnt take responsibility. They all seem to feel that its normal to be without a refrigerator for 2 weeks plus! I was told by Mr. Appliance it could take a couple of weeks to get the compressor and then I have to call for another appointment to have it installed. This is totally unacceptable! I want a loaner or a new refrigerator! I will NEVER buy from PLESSERS or an LG appliance again.

I purchased the top of the line Steam Front Loader approx. 3 years. ago. My wife and I are the only two that have used this washer, so it was taken care of and cleaned after every wash. I am a Machinist and work on much larger machines, so I know my medals. My wife put a normal size load in and the machine started shaking and smoking. We turned it off and opened the door and smoke filled the room. I contacted LG and explained it to them. They told me to take the machine apart and send them pictures. I did. Man was I shocked to see the cheap metal they use in their machines. It was so corroded, rusted, and full of mildew. When I went to pick up the part it broke into, in my hand. I didnt use any force on it whatsoever. With the RPM these machines put out, if we would have left it on, and it broke someone would have been badly hurt or even worse. I learned my lesson from LG. They do not service what they sell, they dont return phone calls, they will lie to you in a heartbeat. I also learned to read reviews before I purchase again... NEVER ANOTHER LG. I have learned most people that write reviews tell it the way it really is.

After reading review after review on this site detailing the same issues I have had with my $3000 LG French door refrigerator, I will not waste time with detailing the issues I have had with this trash LG product. Same no-customer-service response from LG; the service company they gave us hasn’t worked for them for 2 years! We finally had to go directly to Home Depot to get a service repair person to come and look at our refrigerator. It has been two weeks without my refrigerator and hopefully it will get fixed today. But according to the other reviews that I read that may not be the last of my problems with this refrigerator. I am not hopeful. This is the second LG refrigerator that has had this problem; Home Depot, who has pretty decent Customer Service, replaced this same exact refrigerator one year ago. That refrigerator was only a year old when this exact same problems of the compressor going out occurred. The repairmen who are here today said they have been extremely busy lately repairing LG refrigerators with this problem! I am SO frustrated! I bought an LG side-by-side refrigerator in Aug. 2009. It has been a problem since it was delivered. The first one was replaced and a new model was brought out. This one has been a nightmare since. The ice maker freezes up and does not work; you only get shaved ice. It has leaked to the point that it has bubbled the paint and rusted around the bottom of the exterior part of the ice maker. I have contacted the extended warranty company Assurance, which I purchased. They have been out for four different occasions and replaced the ice maker. They said there was nothing they could do about the rusted and peeled paint.I contacted LG and they said it was something I intentionally did to the refrigerator otherwise, it would not have done it. I was told by NFM that the extended warranty would cover all defects. Under the LEMON law, after 3 times and it would be replaced. Aug 23, 2011, I contacted Assurance and the representative gave a claim number and said it would be replaced; transferred me to an underwriter and he informed me in no circumstances did I have an extended warranty that had a Lemon Law Clause in it. It would have had to be added separately. I told him I never heard of that. He explained that he would not exchange this product for that reason and I would have to contact Nebraska Furniture Mart, which I did and still waiting to hear from them. LG makes the worse products and hopefully, the government will step in and take away their right to sell this crap in the USA. I have also told them the freezer has problems also; freezes up too much or not enough, and the refrigerator part stays cold or freezes everything.

Weve had it almost a year, the problem was evident from the start; at times the washer would NEVER stop. The first call to LG service said there were no faults in the machine (over the phone code reading) just out of balance load. BUT we were told NEVER put pants AND shirts in the machine together! Err, WHAT!? The second call we were told we were out of the service area, funny; we had asked that from Home Depot BEFORE we bought it. But after a few emails to LG they did find someone and he came out and replaced the computer. Now the machine does finish the load IF and only IF its happy and in a good mood. Balance is really critical and it tries for a long time to rebalance it before giving up. I dont believe there is anything wrong with the washer at this point, it is just a BAD design, STAY AWAY. And the warranty department doesnt really give a damn.

The hose to the ice maker has been fixed 7 or 8 times because it keeps splitting. The ice maker jams up and wont release the ice. Today, I woke up to water all over the floor. There was no power to the whole unit. I checked the outlet and there was power. I cant get a hold of a repairman.

We had a french door Whirlpool, and within 3 months nothing but trouble, I nicknamed it Whirlajunk. After three years of continuous maintenance, we bit the bullet and bought another fridge. Went with LG and have not been dissatisfied at all.

We have an LG front loading machine. It is the best washing machine that we have ever purchased! The clothes get so much cleaner than our previous machine. We love all of the options for different load choices and especially the fast load for clothing needing to be washed quickly in a pinch! Love the fact the drum is at eye level. This was an awesome purchase and would highly recommend LG!
