I own an LG front load washer. It has been problematic since its purchase 3 years ago. It never cleans the clothes. It makes clothes smell awful. I found out others are having the same problem. I wish they give my money back. I used all the recommended treatments, washing machine cleaners (additional expense), emptying its water often (additional inconvenience), leaving the door open when not in use (hit my legs and bruise them), still clothes smell horrible, especially towels seem to absorb this mushy smell. I hope soon I will get rid of it. I missed clean smelling fresh clothes so much. I need to use a ton of drying sheets to suppress the smell. NEVER BUY FRONT LOADING WASHER. I WILL NEVER AGAIN. They do not save water because you have to wash your clothes again and again. Also you need to clean the machine with special cleaners while running it empty. So in the end no water is saved.

Recently, our DLG6988s dryer (part of a combo) stopped heating. Everything seemed to be working, but no heat! We called the point of purchase (POP) company. We had purchased a 4-year extended warranty program with them. The company provided a work order for repair. The repair diagnosis, full replacement as there had been a fire because the lint was not leaving the dryer but instead, getting in around the drum and the harness was damaged. There was no lint in the tube, none in the lint catch area. It was around the drum instead. No repair could be done. According to the repairman, who has seen this before, this is apparently is a problem with LG gas dryers of this model, which they no longer make, and a report was sent to LG.LG informed us that since we had purchased an extended warranty, the POP company would look after us. We went back to the POP company and their extended warranty department told us that the dryer credit would be prorated and we would be given in-store credit to spend on a new dryer. We looked at dryers and to purchase a comparable dryer to the one we have now. The total cost, including extended warranty, is now another $706.00 over and above the credit we were given. We contacted LG regarding the dryer and the customer service rep told us they would not replace it since the LG warranty was up. The POP company will not replace it, but would give us the credit, take it or leave it.We did not cause the fire. We cleaned our machine diligently of lint. There was no lint anywhere other than in the drum area. They are removing the dryer tomorrow, however, I would like to prove to LG that this defect is their responsibility and the dryer, which is less than 5 years old, should be replaced. The downside would be it would be another LG product. We will never buy another LG product and I urge you to do the same. Because of the offshore parts problem with LG, any repairs that can be made can take more than 5 weeks and their customer service is unsatisfactory to put it mildly. Do your homework before purchasing anything from this company!

I purchased an LG WT5001CW top-load washer in March 2011. It now overfills the tub and will not agitate. It will spin out if you put on the spin cycle. It is one of the models with the smart diagnostics,” in which supposedly you can call LG and hold the phone near the machine and they can diagnose the problem with the machine. I called LG’s number for the smart diagnostics service and was asked what error code was displayed. When I told them that no codes were shown, they said they could not run the smart diagnostics program. Apparently, this feature is another of LGs false advertising ploys. They then gave me the name of the repair service in my city. I called this company and was told that they do not service any LG products. I have a relative who has operated an appliance repair business for over 30 years and he told me he will not touch LG products. I have not been happy with the machine since it was new. It runs the motor more than 50% longer than the old non-energy efficient machine it replaced. It may save a little water as at times the clothes have dry spots where they were never in the water. However, water is cheap in my city, but electricity is not cheap. So this machine overall costs more to run than the old machine. I sure wish I had found this site before purchasing this product. I will not buy LG again, that is for certain.

Bought the LG French Door refrigerator in July 2013 after researching and review customer reviews. Last week, we noticed the bottom freezer was working and the food was thawing. The next day, we called a local repair company to come take a look at the refrigerator who came over a day later. At that point, the freezer was not working and the refrigerator was barely cool. All the food stored in both sections had to be thrown away. We were told it was the compressor and immediately called LG helpline. We were advised that LG would replace the compressor but we would have to pay the service charge. The LG representatives tried to make an appointment but got errors. They gave us 3 service companies to call and make an appointment to repair our refrigerator. None of the 3 will come to our area (we are outside of Las Vegas, NV). The only exception was 1 company but we would have to pay travel time back and forth. This would amount to around 900.00 which included parts. We declined their offer. It is totally unacceptable that a refrigerator that we paid around 2200.00 is now unusable. We now have to buy another refrigerator, wait at least a week for delivery while in the mean time use a cooler filled with ice to keep essential cold and usable.

Im wondering if anyone else has had this problem with an LG washer. Both the service tech and the LG customer support techs said theyve never heard of it. I just discovered a few days ago that the machine does not add any water during the rinse cycle!!! Who knows how long Ive been wearing clothes and using towels that havent been rinsed. The tech replaced both circuit boards but it still does not work. LG insists that because the tech said that it does add a small amount of water there is nothing wrong.I tried to explain that a cup of water at the very end of the rinse cycle, which does not ever agitate and immediately drains out is NOT how its supposed to work. The tech said he doesnt know how much water is supposed to flow into the machine for the rinse cycle, but as long as something goes in, it means its working fine. Seriously? Im done being angry... just going to throw it out, but Im wondering if anyone else has had the no rinse water problem and if you were able to get it fixed. Thanks.

The light bulbs on the bottom of my over the stove microwave get so hot that they are melting the plastic cover that surrounds them. A hole has been burnt right through the plastic. I finally just took the cover off as small bits of plastic were falling out of the cover on to the stove. Anyone else having this problem? Let me say that my microwave is about 8 years old but everything else works fine on it, just an issue with the overheating light bulbs.

I spent $2,000 on an LG refrigerator in October of 2016. It has not worked since April of 2018. I have made over 30 calls to LG. They have sent 4 technicians out to repair. Each technician has said it is unrepairable and sent necessary paperwork to LG for replacement. I have even submitted a report with the BBB and sent all necessary receipts for fridge and lost food like they requested for replacement and compensation for food lost. LG said they would call back within 5 days and take care of. NOTHING. I have now called 5 times in the last week and even if you get someone to answer - they ask the SAME THING give us your email address so we can send you link to a website to upload your proof of purchase. They NEVER send you an email!! Lies, lies, lies!!! They are crooks!! Their product is junk and their customer service is even worse!! Beware - NEVER buy an LG product!!

As a follow-up, after contacting my local TV station, they came out to film my washer in action. They then contacted LG and told them the review would run at 10:00 pm unless they received a reply from LG (up to this point LG ignored them). Wow, LG called him ASAP and offered a full refund! Push, push, push! I filed a complaint with BBB, LG and local news. Next step was a class action lawsuit. Home Depot is backing me in this refund. Hang in there and do not give up. I worked 24 hours every week to get this refund and to let them know they are not superior.

My 5 year old refrigerator suddenly stopped working. A technician came out
My 5 year old refrigerator suddenly stopped working. A technician came out the next day and determined the compressor had failed. I was shocked because compressors typically can last over 20 years. After doing some research I come to find out that this is a widespread problem with LG and possibly some other brands that use this Linear type compressor. LG knows about the problem, and continues selling this product. To make matters worse, they are or have been installing the same type compressor as a replacement which will likely fail again in a short time.LG - listen this is no picnic when you lose hundreds of dollars of food. I spent over $3,000 for what I was led to believe to be a top quality refrigerator. Though the compressor is under warranty, LG said the labor is not because its 5 years and a few weeks, are you kidding? I am not pleased to have to shell out $550 in labor on top of the cost of the lost food. If this is how you treat your customers, you can rest assure LG will not be my appliance brand of choice.

Note that we have owned refrigerators for over 35 years, so are quite good
Note that we have owned refrigerators for over 35 years, so are quite good at evaluating them: we like the LG refrigerator overall, the interior layout and the 2 freezer drawers but, it has several annoying drawbacks/problems: (a) the flipper on the left-hand door, which flips to allow the door to properly close, has an extremely close tolerance, and we have already had a repairman come in to adjust it so the door would properly close (he told us its a common problem and showed me how to do it in the future). (b) The design of the ice dispenser is terrible, as it is nearly impossible to position a glass without some ice chips falling outside the glass, and, if you do not notice that someone has left the dispenser switch in the ice setting (a tiny light indicator) and you want a glass of cold water, the ice dispenser dumps out a load of ice before you can stop it, or vice versa, and if you have a visitor, make sure he/she doesnt go to get ice/water by himself; (c) the unit is noisy, as the case vibrates - if I press against the side the vibration stops, but starts again when I take my hand off; and (d) when it was delivered a small plastic part was missing on the flipper hinge, I asked Customer Service if they could just send me that little part, but no, they said they had to send a repairman, which required 2 visits as he could only replace the entire flipper assembly. We would show a friend these conditions before buying an LG.

LG French Door refrigerator LFX28979ST - This the second LG refrigerator I have bought in the past 10 years. I have had problems with both. I have spent over four grand not counting over 1,500 on repairs. In the latest one we have replaced 2 compressor for over 1,000 dollars in 7 months. If they know they have problems with compressors the need to fix it. I give their product a zero rating. The whole LG staff is worthless and of no help and just pass the buck.

This built-in oven came with the house. Its beautiful. But, I dont think its ever worked quite right. There are lots of things I like about it - the proof setting for proofing bread, roll-out rack, convection roast mode. However, it does not hold oven temperatures properly, preheats slowly, and the fan is noisy. It is now totally dead at less than 6 years old, and wont heat on any setting. We are waiting for a service callback, who knows how long it will be. I would not be surprised if parts are no longer available as this seems to be a problem with LG and Samsung. If we have to buy another oven it wont be an LG. I wish I could find an induction or smoothtop range that performs well but does not have a lot of electronics, which seem to be the bane of all modern ranges. I am an experienced cook and baker but do not like gas as we have a tight house.

Ive had my washer for approximately 2 years. In the past Ive stuck with well respected brands such as Kenmore. I was hesitant to try a new brand, but my daughter has an LG TV that shes been pleased with, so I thought Id give LG a try. Ive raised three children and now have a grandchild, my husbands a mechanic and we farm as well, so Ive put washers through a lot over the 30+ years of married life. Ive never had a washing machine rust before this one. The compartment that is specifically designed for bleach is all rusted out, so I now wait until the washer is full and just dispense the bleach directly into the load. The back of lid that you cant see is also rusted. I take good care of my appliances by wiping them down and keeping dust off of them on a regular basis, so this isnt operators fault, this is poor materials and manufacturing. This also does not have the center agitator like the old designs and it just doesnt get my clothes as clean as with the agitator bar. I did read about the mildew smell that can occur in these new HE washers and Ive avoided this by leaving the lid and soap dispensers open after each load to air things out. Ive also been using the tub clean cycle with the special Tide cleaner about once every two months. Needless to say, I will not be buying anymore LG products. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me.

I purchased an LG refrigerator about 3 months ago. The first week I had it the door In door kept popping open. Weeks later the freezer would build up ice and I had difficulty opening and closing the freezer. I contacted LG and they sent a repairman who did not fix my problem. LG then sent a repairman to fix the freezer. The day he left the freezer stopped opening. I am now unable to access my freezer to get food for my kids. I’ve had to go grocery shopping just to have food. I have called customer service several times and been promised that I would be contacted to schedule a service call. To date no one has called me despite 4 calls to LG. I even spoke to a supervisor on Tuesday who promised me I would be contacted and still no phone call.

We purchased all new kitchen appliances just over 2 yrs ago in Dec 2013. 1st the microwave was delivered dented. They came in and ordered replacement parts which were delivered dented not once, not 2x, not 3x, but 4 times. Then the fridge/freezer stopped making ice, needed a part replaced. The range/oven door glass was developing uncleanable stains in between the front of the door and the inside of the door. Then the oven door started to have a weak seal causing the top of the door to become dangerously hot. My legs were burnt a couple of times when removing items from oven. The door was replaced. The dishwasher stopped working because of a clogged hose. After calling LG for help many times! They sent a tech. And the parts and labor were covered although out of warranty. 2 days later another part went on the dishwasher and again is not working. 1 day after the microwave is not working either!!! Seriously? I cant tell you how many phone calls it has taken to get some positive response from LG. Call after call there was always a reason why they could not help me at that moment and asked that I call back. The customer service is awful! I spoke with several hours, kept me on the phone from 15 to 20 min at a time and half the time they would not even record or take notes of the call! I have missed work and sleep over this and all they can say is we are sorry for the inconvenience. They have no clue. I want these appliances gone! And replaced with another brand. Anything else would be an improvement. Stay away from LG!

LFXC24726S Breaks Often - I have had this refrigerator for three years. I paid more for it (3K) due to the counter depth and it was the size I needed. Its had four repairs, ice maker twice and the dual cooling system twice. Not only does it break down, but it takes forever to get it fixed when it does. There are limited appliance repair companies in my area that will work on the dual cooling system. I live in a large city, so this is hard to believe. Even when someone comes out, they then have to order parts which in the past has taken weeks. I had to go buy a used refrigerator to hold me over until mine could be fixed.

I wanted to be fair about my review so I waited until I had it a while. I bought this machine a yr ago and I am very disappointed. In any cycle, theres not enough water to get everything wet, say nothing about rubbing the clothes together. The repairman came out for a repair issue and stated the machine was made to wash ONE set of sheets not two. If I want anything really clean, I have to go to bulky to get enough water to make any soap suds. Most of the time, I can see the blue soap color on some of the clothes.. They dont get wet enough to get the soap off. I will not buy LG anything again.

I requested a repair service on May 7 through LG.com. I purchased my washer and dryer combo in July 12, 2016. The rubber belt was dislocated and it seemed to be leak soon. The first email was came on May 9, and the one technician who supposed to call me to set up time did not call me. Thus I called on May 12 again. On May 13 I received an email from LG.com saying the contact information for service center and reference number. I called the service center on that day and the guy said he did not get any work order from LG.com. On May 15, I wanted to speak with supervisor because all representatives copied the same script and no technician contacted me. The representative hung my call up. Finally on May 15, I got a service center number and contact them. On May 17, the tech guy came and check this machine. The rubber and wire ring are out and he needs to place order for new. The brand new washer dryer has issue at the rubber which is the main factor to keep water in! It is unexpectable and very dissatisfied experience with LG.com. The supervisor of customer service said only sorry for being delayed and she would not sent the part with overnight. Even though LG.com caused this unrealistic delay, they did not want show how they are sorry for this. I cannot trust their merchandise as well as their worst customer care. I do not why LG.com has the customer service department.

We bought our LG washer and dryer in 2006. You can take any of the complaints/descriptions from the others and put our name under it as our problems are the same as theirs. The problem with smell and extreme mold buildup started immediately and continues to this day. We clean it weekly with washing machine cleaners, bleach and dishwasher detergent to no avail. Our LG fridge LFX28968SW was already in our house when we moved in Apr 2017
Our LG fridge LFX28968SW was already in our house when we moved in Apr 2017. However, the label is stamped with manufactured 2013 so it cant be more than 4 years old. This model lists for $2,400 ++. It is a beautiful appliance, but beauty is only skin deep here. The fridge stopped cooling and freezing in Aug 2017; thats way too soon for a durable goods product. ALL of my previous fridges (Amanda, Frigidaire, Kitchen Aid) lasted over 10 years without issue when I left them for the next homeowner. The one homeowner says Frigidaire is still running without issue and its over 17 years. Anyway, I called LG customer service and we ran the SMART Diagnosis process but the rep said it didnt reveal any errors; I guess it isnt so smart after all. We did get the unit to display a error code 22, which according to the LG website, indicates a compressor relay failure. Its a small, easily accessible, inexpensive part ($12 for similar parts on Amazon) but LG customer service refused to provide me with a parts list and service manual and said that only LG certified techs can repair it. Since the remaining LG warranty only covers parts, Im guessing at least $200-$350 labor costs based on posts for similar repairs. So, after 3 days of waiting on the LG recommended techs to make an appointment, I contacted a repairman recommended by 2-10 Home Warranty. They came next day and replaced the relay but it still isnt working; so much for the reliability of the error codes. He said a fuse on the control board blew and since the fuse is soldered in, the whole board needs replaced. (PS I have the fridge on a surge protector). I asked him candidly if this was an ongoing problem, his response was he does several per month but unfortunately cant keep the boards in stock so its at least another week to get the replacement part. So after two weeks, Im still living out of coolers and my daughters dorm room fridge.Luckily we had the 2-10 Home Warranty that came with the purchase of our home. Otherwise, the cost would be significantly higher. So Im looking at a $100 deductible, plus cost of food spoilage, plus cost of ice for coolers. In addition to the cost, its a huge inconvenience to constantly manage the issue (phone calls, service appointments, waiting on parts, swapping ice, etc) all this to fix a supposed top of the line fridge. Its not right to have a durable goods product fail after 4 years, and based on my experience with customer service, and based on parts availability, and based on responsiveness of the LG techs, and based the blogs, I wont buy any LG product no matter what it is. The internet mentions a class action suit brewing, I will surely sign on when I get the right contact.

I have a front-load washer that has made me and my family very sick. Before I bought the front-load washer, I called LG customer service to get details on how to not have smell/mold problems in my machine. I was very diligent in cleaning it. I cleaned around the rubber area in the door, I drained the old water, cleaned the filter, cleaned inside the soap area and the took the soap dispenser out and cleaned that too, as well as running the tub clean cycle - using afresh, running it with bleach, running it with vinegar, leaving the door open, using HE soap, etc. I called LG to see what they could do because the smell was in my clean clothes. An LG tech came out to look at the machine regarding the smell and found that I did everything humanly possible to keep it clean. He called LG and they told him to take the tub to a car wash and spray it down (ridiculous). The tech went further, because he knew this would do nothing, and got approval to replace some parts (the back part of the tub had been discontinued???). In cleaning the machine, I watched as black mold and bacteria came out of the hoses and it was on the back of the tub. I took this information to the corporate level and I was told immediately that it was maintenance. I was shocked as to how Tish could tell me that it was my fault immediately without talking to the tech. It was only after I told her that the tech said that it was going to come back again, that she called him. After being left on hold for 15 mins., she got back on the phone and said that she spoke to the tech, his manager, and her manager, and that they were going to review my case.Well 1 week later I called back; Tish told me that they werent going to do anything. She said after talking to their legal department they decided that it was a maintenance issue. They said I misused the washing machine...HUH?? I have had allergic conjunctivitis so bad that my eye doctor and my specialist have told me to go 2 hrs. away to UVA because after 2-3 years of misery and steroid eye drops, dermatologist testing, allergy testing and numerous visits to doctors, they dont know what is wrong with me. Funny how now that the tub in my washer has been replaced and many parts steam cleaned, I dont have the zombie look anymore. It is still in the clothes and the sheets that we sleep in, but it has improved. Bottom line, LG corporate is programmed to blame the consumer, even if they have a defective product. I have a nearly new LG refrigerator which is not working. Stopped cooling in fridge and bottom freezer. After waiting on hold for over 10 minutes the customer service rep who doesnt speak English (I kept having to say excuse me for him to repeat himself) questioned me about the product itself. Refuses to send out a technician for repair (even though its under warranty) and has me reset it and then tells me if it doesnt work in 4-6 hours I need to call back. Nope. If it doesnt work, Ill call in a a repair company to come. In the meantime, all my food in freezer and refrigerator will be ruined. Not a great way to run a company.

I have owned my LG range for almost a year. I have no complaints as far as how my range works and with that part I am happy. But, there have been 3 separate instances where I have smelled gas in my home only to find one of my knobs turned just slightly enough to let gas leak out. For this feature, I am very dissatisfied and I would not recommend this range to anyone. I am constantly checking the knobs to make sure they are off.I called LG as many others have regarding this issue and they advised me to check on Amazon for some child protective covers, at my cost. I told them this was not good enough. I had bought all new kitchen appliances, all LG and have just purchased a new dryer which is LG also. It was very poor customer service but when I voiced how I felt, she offered to send a serviceman to my home to look at the knobs and if needed, he would try to fix the problem. Buyer beware, especially if you have children, this range is dangerous to have in your home.

We purchased the front load washer and dryer in December 2010. The pretty red ones! What a mistake! Actually, no problems with the dryer, except it doesnt seem to dry as well as it did in the beginning. I always have to add a click or two to the automatic dry time. The washer broke this June 2011. We had Geek Squad come out, it took four weeks for them to get back to replace the drum and three other pieces that attach to the drum. Four weeks! Then it broke again six weeks later. Same thing, we tried to get Geek Squad out again and they are so hard to work with to schedule a time. They should realize people have jobs! I called Best Buy to get help and they gave me LGs direct line. She was very helpful and friendly. But then the service tech called and his first words were, Do you agree to pay for this service call? and told us it was not the drum, it was a shock absorber. He hadnt even been to the house! He just told us this by the description. He wasnt coming out until we agreed on the phone to pay for the service call. Forget it. We are going to buy a new washer tonight. It will not be an LG. Such a hassle and disappointment, $1000.00 wasted. Pretty red machine...too bad it is a piece of crap!

I purchased an LG washer. After the warranty ran out, a tear appeared in the gasket around the washer. It seems like this is a default, this should not have happened in this small span of time. It will cost around $350 to repair plus the technicians fees. Im very disappointed in this machine and would not recommend it to anyone. A class action law suit sounds good to me.

I have gotten very little usage from this LG dishwasher since I purchased it a few years ago. It has been one problem after another. I had not used it for approximately 8 months. When I DID try to use it, it gave me the oe code (Again). When the repairman came out, it was clogged up, he really DID not believe that I had not been using the dishwasher. Also, now the rubber and the sides that should be welded down is now coming loose. It cannot be repaired!!!!

Now the fridge is broken again (exact same problem I paid to fix 6 months ago) and LG refuses to stand behind their repairs or products. This is outrageous for a company such as LG to take advantage of customers and collect repairs costs on an ongoing basis after they have sold their products. 5 years ago, I bought an LG Washer and Dryer set for $1700 at Lowes. After a year and a half, I started getting the uneven load message occasionally. At this point, it does it on every single load, even if its empty. My water bill is outrageous because it just keeps refilling with water. Ive resorted to hand ringing each item washed in order to put the clothes in the dryer. LG will do nothing about it because its been 5 years since I bought it even though I started calling about the problem after 2 years. I refuse to pay $300 for them to come out to check the problem, then additional cost to fix it, since its a well known issue with their washers. It is a manufacturer design issue and cant be fixed. The only reason they are still in business is probably because of maintenance costs to continue to repair their horrible products. Model #WT4870C.

We have had our refrigerator for less than three years. The compressor quit with no warning at the end of June. I called LG customer service the same day. At first I was impressed because the rep said someone would be out the next day. Great! Nobody came the next day. I called and said the appointment had been changed and they wouldn’t be there for a week. The repairman came and said yes, it’s the compressor and would have to order it. He scheduled the repair for it for a little over a week from then. Totally unacceptable but what can you do. He came as scheduled but had ordered the wrong compressor. He had to order a new one and couldn’t come back until July 24th.This is just ridiculous. We are not college kids needing to cool our beverages. This is a family with many spoiled products and over one month of no refrigerator. I think the company should take the old refrigerator immediately and provide a new one. Or else give our money back so we can get a reliable product from some other company. Will be telling my circle of people never to buy an LG product because they do not have an adequate solution to the problem.

I would never buy this type of range again. The large burners are in the front, where one would place a large stock pot. It is very dangerous to have such a large pot positioned in front. You have to reach over it to get to the smaller pots. Its very dangerous. The reason I bought this range was because it matches the refrigerator. It looks good, but it is difficult to use. I can manage it, because it is just my husband and myself. If I had a young family, I would get rid of it (even though it is new). It could become a hazard with small children around. They could easily pull a large pot over on them. I am constantly vigilant when I am cooking on it and worried I will tip the front pots over on myself. Its not a pleasure to cook anymore!

I purchased a whole house full of LG appliances in October of 2011 (Washer, Dryer, Dishwasher, Stove, Microwave/hood, and refrigerator). I have had many issues with the washer. The washer worked fine initially and gradually started having issues from unbalanced loads to not spinning enough and leaving the clothes soaked requiring extra spin cycles. I purchased this particular model for the load capacity. You would think it would be able to handle what it was made for. In August of 2013 LG sent out a recall for unbalanced load issue. An Authorized repair company came out and did the software update. Frankly the full of clothes and water with the lid locked from no power. They replaced the board (reluctantly) and we were operational until April of 2014 when the board blew again. Our first course of action was to call the authorized repair company back, but they would not talk to us over the phone and wanted to come out and charge us for a service call to service the machine as well as labor to replace the part, if in fact they felt they should warranty it. LG also no help at this point, the machine was out of warranty and not their problem. Since we knew what the problem was and were not fond of repair company anyway, we ordered the part ourselves online and put it in. This one lasted all the way to almost the end of September 2014, again blowing with the machine full of clothes. I have now purchased a new machine (not LG) and will be sending LG copies of all the paperwork, from original purchase all the way to current purchase. I doubt they will do anything for me, the machine is clearly a piece of junk sitting in my garage. Unfortunately, this is not the only one of their appliances I have had issues with. The microwave has had just about every part in it replaced in the span of a couple months, some of the parts multiple times. This was also a big hassle to get repaired. The LG tech fixed it the first 2 times and then it got pushed to yet another authorized repair company, for multiple visits changing out a part at a time. It would have been cheaper for them to just give me a new one. LG is now banned from my house. I will never purchase another one of their products, no matter what it is. I also recommend to everyone I know, to stay away from the Large Garbage. So far they have not stood by their products. I did not purchase an extended warranty, but I have never had issues like this with any appliance I have ever purchased and they have lasted well over 3 years. Not to mention these dealers want to charge at least 1/2 of the purchase price for these extended warranties, which is ridiculous.

We purchased our $3,000 fridge at Sears in 2016 before they went out of business. While it is a Kenmore sold by Sears, it is actually a fridge built by LG for Sears. So the fridge is basically 4 years old and the freezer has stopped working. With Sears bankruptcy, I have no warranty. I understand that, but LG is unable to provide a qualified service agent that is still in business. All service agents I have called have indicated that LG is proprietary and I need a LG technician. Totally unacceptable. Besides the service issue, breakdown so quickly is a problem. If you are buying new, I would recommend sticking with manufacturers that specialize in kitchen appliances, not TVs and computers. I wont make that mistake again.

Purchased a new LG Steam dryer-DLEX3370W and washer in June 2018. Within 2 months of purchasing the dryer would not come on. Interior light would come on but electronic panel lights would not, so it is a bad board. Called LG for warranty service. Never received another call from them ever. Service repairman came 3+ weeks later with a front panel plastic part, knowing the dryer would not turn on. He threw the part in the box and stated LG sent him the wrong part. I stated I knew he orders parts not LG. LG confirmed this also. Said he would order a board and be back another day. I filed a complaint with him due to him lying about the part along with him not even opening the dryer to diagnose the problem. I have called LG every few days for 3 months now regarding the status. I am told pending. They asked for receipt of the purchase, I uploaded it to my claim. Then 2 weeks later asked for it again, uploaded it. Never in 3 months has anyone from LG called me to let me know the status. They refuse to give anything in writing also. This dryer has a lawsuit against LG due to the stream drawer and a house fire. After 10 weeks we finally purchase a new dryer and expect they would reimburse us due to not being able to find another repair company to come out to our area. They asked me to upload the receipt, I did, along with our Governors state of emergency in our county due to flooding in Texas, I did that also as asked. Today, 11/8/18, I called and spoke with a Supervisor in Executive Services who was not customer friendly, stated the claim had been denied last month! No notification, nothing! I asked for the address to send a small claims notification letter. LG Legal Dept, PO Box 24007, Huntsville, AL 35813. We will be filing a suit not honoring the warranty of a 2 month old dryer. FYI, a lawsuit was filed for a house fire due to the steam drawer.

I purchased an LG washing machine in 2011. At the time of its purchase, the machine started to produce oil like stains on the clothes. I tried several detergents and purchased several different types of tub cleaners to no avail. After 6 months of repeated stains, I called the Sears technical department to complain about the situation. A technician was sent out to my house to provide preventive maintenance. Upon arrival, I indicated that the machine did not require its yearly maintenance but rather a repair. The technician indicated, after looking at the machine, that he could not detect a deficiency with the machine. He did acknowledge that the stains were coming from the machine. Several calls to the technical department, the customer service department, and an in store visit to Sears to discuss the way forward with an area manager has proven to be futile. I still sit with a machine that produces oil stains on my clothes. I have incurred enormous costs having to throw away clothes because they are no longer fit to wear. I am now considering purchasing another machine, and I have stopped purchasing anything from Sears purely out of principle.

Failed compressor on a 4 year old Kenmore Elite French door refrigerator. It was manufactured by LG and sold by Sears Canada. Of course I purchased the extended warranty which is now null and void after having been underwritten by now defunct Sears Canada. LG Canada basically told me to go ** myself. I am Horrified that I spent 4000$ on an LG refrigerator and LG won’t step up to make this right given the known issue of compressor failure. The repair bill is estimated to be 1000$, which I cannot afford. I’ve had to purchase an inexpensive used fridge and move a basically lightly used top of the line refrigerator to storage in hopes that LG may step up and do what is right. It is untenable that consumers are being exploited in this way and treated with such a lack of care or concern. I am thoroughly disappointed and will be pursuing every avenue to see my money returned. So far, LG has proven they are driven by profit - they are knowingly selling defective appliances to consumers. I recommend that folks avoid LG manufactured products and spend their money on appliances that are manufactured by reputable companies that will stand behind their product. Compressors should last 10-20 years. 4 years??! They are defective and LG needs to own their mistakes.

Purchased an LG Direct Drive washing machine model WT5001CW in 2011 from Sears. Seemed to be working well. Would get UE error for unbalanced loads now and then, and machine would stop. In 2013 we received a recall repair notice and as a good consumer scheduled the repair. Since then, the machine has not worked properly. We get UE message sometimes but typically at the 9 minute point in cycle, it goes into a continual refill/empty mode. We have to reposition clothing and try to get it to spin clothes but it rarely does. We end up having to cancel the cycle and re-program a spin only cycle. Sometimes this resolves the issue but most of the time doesnt. I called LG today to let them know what is happening and got nowhere. The rep said I am out of warranty date. I explained this has been happening since recall fix but it didnt matter. He offered to schedule a repair but it would cost a minimum of $200. Basically, a 4 y/o super expensive ($900) washer is defective due to their repair.

Our LG dishwasher has never (since the day we had it installed) cleaned our dishes or dried them. I first noticed that after carefully rinsing all residue off my dishes, they still were dirty after running them through the normal cleaning cycle. I then washed my dishes and started using the power scrub feature every time and noticed the dishes had either food or soap reside on them and were never hot or dry after the washer stopped. I have to pre-wash everything I put into it and wipe off the soap afterward even though I use Jet-Dry. My dishes are barely warm when the 2-hour power scrub cycle is finished. I called LG support and after several questions, I realized that the customer service rep was going through a checklist in order to troubleshoot the root cause of the problem. She asked if I had cleaned the unit by the manual instructions to make sure there was no food debris clogging (YES). She asked if I used the proper detergent and if my washer actually had power to it (Yes and yes). She asked if I used the power scrub feature. She wanted to know if my dishwasher was connected to my garbage disposal? She said I had to check the line to make sure it was clear, but she told me that there was no way for me to do that other than looking at the line - REALLY? She told me that I obviously needed a technician to come out for the price of $85.00 to diagnose and probably more than $250.00 for parts and labor. She also told me that I could not talk to a technician or anyone else other than her over the phone.Weve had nothing but trouble from our LG refrigerator as well - having had to replace the water line 4 TIMES before the fridge actually stopped working and then had to pay LG for a new motherboard. I will NEVER again buy another LG appliance. Customer service is POOR at best and appliance functionality is a joke.

Updated on 3/30/2020: So after a good amount of time I thought maybe maybe our problems with this LG fridge was over. LG sent out a repairman who was a nice guy and over two appointments he attempted to fix the problems. And now a week or maybe two weeks later it’s so much worse. Now after correcting the ice maker issue by adapting or changing lines from the freezer to the ice maker and doing something else with the freezer motor or what have you, we notice this morning water leaking from the door where the ice maker is located. After trying to clean up the water we realize it’s not cold in the ice maker compartment and then realize the freezer is not working and half the contents are thawed or half thawed. It must have been happening during the night at some point. Now we have all this food about to ruin soon. This fridge is a nightmare. It has been 4 years of hell. It is just a waste of almost $4,000 dollars!Original Review: I had many LG products when I bought my $4,000 fridge. I was so excited and for us that’s an expensive purchase. Within a year the problems started. We’ve had the fridge fail several times including the famous linear compressor problem now in class action suit. But water runs inside the walls and freezes in the middle drawer chiller section. It rusts the wheels or rollers and now we can’t use the middle drawer. Not a crisper drawer inside but the big whole drawer in the middle which costs you another 1k to have the 4 drawer fridge. It’s useless. They can’t find the parts for the back wheels. The front ones don’t fit. They’ve sent out repair people which we have to pay for and they’ve sent out a dozen parts all of which don’t work and we pay for. We’ve been dealing with customer service supervisor Alexandra ** for 6 months and she can’t or won’t get anything done. LG is a scam company stealing money from consumers!!!

My LG washer/dryer lasted a for a few years, then promptly stopped drying. Authorized service tech came out 4 times, each time replacing more stuff, the typical blind replacement strategy without doing any real diagnostic work. Several hundred dollars of new parts, incidentally I have the old parts in hand and they tested fine. Anyway, it still doesnt dry any better, but somehow passed a self test. Tech said that the support guy he was talking to at factory said we should get a new unit, but when I call to begin this process, LG says they cant authorize that because the self test passed. Call me crazy but the ultimate test of a dryer is whether it dries clothes. LG says it is normal for the clothes to come out of these combo machine dryers somewhat wet. Theyve also discontinued this model (WM-3988HWA). I wonder why. Perhaps Im not the only consumer who expects a dryer to dry things. Dismal support by LG. Yes, it is out of warranty, but if they cant fix it at any price and have discontinued the product, that to me means the product is defective and a prorated refund/exchange should be offered.

I am shocked for several reasons: I cant believe an expensive appliance less than 5 years old would have a compressor which needs replacement, its unbelievable to have to pay $600 in labor for 45 minutes of work although I have a warranty. I also own an LG Steam Washer/Front Loader and matching dryer. The washer also needed repairs (which I had to pay parts and labor for) after a couple of years of ownership. These are definitely the LAST LG appliances, electronics, etc I purchase. In the future, I hope to find a company who cares about their customers and stands by their products.

Our $3,500+ super capacity LG refrigerator stopped cooling at the 6 year mark. Several repair attempts have been made in the past month under warranty and at least $2100 in food has spoiled. Weve also spent $370 on floor repairs from water damage leaking from the fridge after the second repair attempt. My fiance and I have been tirelessly working the frontlines 6-7 days a week taking direct care of critically ill COVID patients at hospitals with little time to grocery shop (or sleep) since this pandemic started. For a month now, my family has been eating from our hospitals vending machines or relying on fast food delivery service which has drained our accounts. LGs policy states a maximum of $300 food reimbursement and if our unit is deemed unrepairable even under warranty, we have no option but to pay for junk hauling. After purchasing several high end appliances from LG, this is a huge slap in our faces.

I have several LG appliances, all have had numerous issues. The refrigerator - drawers crack easily, door shelves snap under basic load (the shelf for milk broke off with just milk in it). The range - front panel cracked due to heat (ON A RANGE!!!!). The Dryer - the drum cracked to the point where clothes can probably get through. I contacted support about all of these, and they simply parroted the 1 year parts & labour mantra. Save yourself some money and DO NOT BUY LG.

On June 28, 2020 I noticed my fridge was not keeping things cold. I called a refrigerator repair company and it turns out my compressor went bad. I have only had the fridge for 5 yrs and 3 months. I called LG customer service on June 29, 2020, and was told they would replace the part but wouldnt pay for the service. It is going to cost over $600 to have the compressor replaced. I did some additional research and it appears LG has a problem with defective compressors. In fact, there was a lawsuit filed against them for this very reason. I asked to speak to a manager about the repair cost and Vergie refused to transfer me to one. She also would not provide the name of the manager that said they would not cover the repair costs. Its not like I asked for a new fridge, I just want them to pay for a problem they know they have. This will be the last time I purchase a LG product!

I bought the largest refrigerator with an ice crusher to provide ice and food for my disabled husband. He is disabled with Parkinsons from exposure to Agent Orange during his service in Vietnam. I am his sole caregiver. He is on many medications and a special diet so I needed a reliable refrigerator. At first this unit was great but the condenser died and we lost all our food and his medications. We had bought the LG long term warranty. Their warranty department is not connected to their service department but their service department does not have the warranty information. After many calls for 2 weeks to both warranty and service departments they finally sent a service provider who took another 2 weeks to fix the unit. The service provider did not receive good information from LG and kept asking for information that I did not have. Finally, the refrigerator was fixed. Two months later the refrigerator is not cooling again. Again I am having to call both warranty and service departments. It has been a week since the unit broke and the warranty and service departments have not even called a service provider to fix the refrigerator. I learned last time I have to call everyday to get results. Their call center is in the Philippines so their English is very difficult to understand so I have to ask them to repeat almost everything which is frustrating to me and to the call center operators so we do not get along. Both these situation have been very costly in loss of food and medications and frustrating in their inefficiency in dealing with broken refrigerators. Isnt that what they are there for? Why isnt their system designed to immediately deal with warranty needs????

I purchased this LG fridge in 2014 and was very pleased with it till this past week when it has been nothing but an issue. Out of the blue it completely lost all power, no lights, no display panel, no fans or compressor. We had to throw all all the food that we had purchased for the holidays. I called LG customer support and was very disappointed, as all they could do was ask me to try another outlet and then try to charge me $125 just to have someone come look at it. They recommended a local service that was approved by them, so I called and scheduled an appointment. They came out and replaced the PCB and the power came back and the fridge and freezer appeared to be working fine. After 48 hrs the Fridge still had power but everything thawed out and all the ice melted making a mess in the fridge and on the floor. Not to mention, the second batch of food that had to be thrown out because we filled the fridge after 24 hrs when it appeared to be working. When I called customer support, they were zero help and told me I had to deal with the repair service that made the repair. Of course it was a weekend so I had wait another two days. When I got in touch with the repair company they told me that if it was a sealed system or compressor issue, they could diagnose it but were not authorized to repair it. So basically I wasted my money, because the repair company that LG told me to call is not authorized to make the repair. When I called LG customer service back, all they told me was that they could schedule another LG repair person to come out, which I would have to pay another $125 for, to diagnose and make the repairs. I complained about having to pay another fee when if they referred me to the correct repair service to begin with, I wouldnt have had to pay the second fee. Their response was just that they were sorry and there wasnt anything they could do. After complaining and continuing to ask to speak to someone else I was put on hold and when they came back, they told me all they could do was file a formal complaint to upper management about the incorrect referral but I was assured there was no guarantee anything would happen or that I would even receive a followup call to resolve the complaint.I was very upset to find out that this seems to be a common issue with these LG fridges. A quick search on the internet and speaking to the repair service, they see multiple calls a week on these LG Fridges due to bad PCB and or compressor failures. It is nice that LG warranties the compressor for 10 yrs, however its, disturbing that they all seem to fail before 10 yrs and the warranty doesnt cover the labor or help with the hardship and loss of money as a result of the fridge failing to work. The worst part of the experience has been the support from LG. Im not a qualified technician but Im pretty handy and can diagnose most problems. When talking with LG customer support they have zero interest in hearing the symptoms and the troubleshooting that has been done to try to work through the issue. As soon as they are done with their pre-determined check list of questions, they quickly rush you off the phone to schedule a repair man to come out which of course they charge you for.

We bought a new LG refrigerator from Lowes a little over two years ago. The freezer quit freezing. We called, paid their set fee for repairs and set the appointment, a week out. They came, diagnosed compressor issue. They had to order it. It finally came. We called again. Another couple of weeks before they came to install. They said to give it a few days to work. Its still not working and they cant come until Monday -- over two weeks after the new compressor was installed. And now the refrigerator portion is not cooling. Each time we call, they merely say Im sorry. We have been homeowners for over 25 years and have never had appliance issues. DO NOT BUY AN LG!!! I wish I had known. I wont make the mistake again. Substandard appliance and substandard service.

We bought an LG dishwasher in December of 2018 and just 4 months later it totally crapped out. We called LG and they wanted to send a service repairman that was more than two hours away from us. He wanted $1000 upfront to come out as he didn’t want to fight with LG to get paid. We said no. Not for a $700 dishwasher. So we got a guy who is only 40 minutes from our house and is very reputable to come and look at it. When he pulled it out he discovered the control switch had caught fire and burned a hole in the bottom of my cupboard! It could’ve burnt my house down!At time of purchase we bought an extended warranty only to find out it’s not worth the paper it’s written on because we live too far away from the city we bought it. Also the control panel was completely fried. They wouldn’t consider paying us for the guy that came out because he’s not registered with them. Still fighting with them to see if we can get our money back as we don’t want something that is a fire hazard in our house. Do not purchase LG products! They are crap.

If I could I would have NO STAR - We’ve had nothing but bad luck with our LG appliances- first of all our dishwasher -the control panel went haywire 5 months after we got it- well that happened 2 more times since. When we built our home we also bought an LG gas range, refrigerator and microwave. So last year we went to Alaska and when we came home in August the stove control panel also had gone haywire. You cannot properly read the numbers that tell you the temperature/time so when you set the temperature you have no idea what youre setting it to. Called LG and after hours on the phone with them to get it repaired they did NOTHING. Our cost to find out by the repairman (we paid for) that to fix it we would spend more than what a new oven would cost. It is barely over a year old and possibly failed prior to being a year old! 2 days ago we woke up to our LG French door refrigerator inside as warm as our room temperature and everything inside ruined. It is just barely 2 years old! Called LG for repairs- ended up having to get our own repair guy, and it has a bad compressor, won’t read codes, and needs a new control board. The repairman said it’s an extensive repair and could possibly fail again easily (read class action law suit on them). Called LG back and now we have to wait to hear from Service Power to see if anyone can fix it. They offered NOTHING for the loss of food but would send us up to $200 for a mini fridge- and he’d send us an email for doing so- still waiting for that. These appliances cost thousands of dollars! Buyer Beware!!! They are junk!

I have been an LG customer for very long with almost all appliances being from LG. However my dishwasher problem has disappointed me greatly. I have an dishwasher model D1452WF which is my 2nd LG dishwasher over a period of 15 years. However after 4 years of using D1452WF, I noticed start of rusting of both the upper and lower racks/trays. I thought it was just a minor issue and continued using. But now after one more year, I have noticed that the rust has increased. The spares racks cost around US$215. I am really disappointed. What is the use of a 10 year motor warranty when the inside trays start rusting much earlier. I use salt regularly to soften the water. I have no other problems with the machine. So there is no point in buying such an equipment unless they make reliable parts as well.

Their customer service people are barely understandable over the phone, and they never follow up on any of my letters. I just emailed the company again and now they are asking for the same documentation already sent them. I had to file complaints with the Better Business Bureau, the FTC, and the New Mexico State Atty General. The next step will be to sue them in small claims court. This has been a huge waste of time and frustration. I will never purchase an LG product again - a very unprofessional corporation who do not honor their warranties.

When the machine cycles on it will pump water out of the soap drawer at times. Sometimes when it is started and other times when it goes into rinse mode, flooding the drawer below the washing machine and the floor. It took several calls to a person who did not want to send a service tech. He told us it was because we were using a wrong detergent. That is a perfect example of how little he knows about the product. When we finally got a service tech to come out and look at it, the problem did not show up while he was here and he had no idea what was happening. So although he was a very nice person he was not schooled in the product then he was sent out to troubleshoot. There has to be a troubleshoot guide that is developed from other repairs done in the field. My washing machine is not the only one pumping water on the floor. It Cost 89.00 for the service call. My Daughter paid 40.00 the same day to check her Maytag.

In 2012 we purchased an LG French Door refrigerator - the most expensive fridge weve ever had - to update our kitchen appliances. In 2013, the freezer section malfunctioned, food defrosted. Since we had the extended warranty, the freezer problem was repaired, but we still had the loss of food. Several months later, we discovered the food in the refrigerator section was freezing. After trying to adjust the temp according to the manual, we called the warranty insurance & since we have the gadget that is supposed to diagnose the problem, allow parts to come with the service person, had this done. Of course he had to order parts. White refrigerator, a black gasket arrived. More parts ordered. Weeks later, same problem. 2nd technician said 1st repair was not done properly, so more parts. More food loss each time. In March 2014, same problem with food freezing in fridge section. We have been waiting 3 weeks for proper parts (again, wrong color gasket seal sent - so another wait). Also yellow discolorations all over the white door, and neither LG nor the warranty insurance will cover this, as its considered cosmetic. So our nearly $3000 refrigerator is the worst appliance weve ever owned. Have complained to LG, nothing resolved. Can you say LEMON? Needless to say, when warranty coverage is over, appliance will be replaced and NOT with an LG!

I was on the market for a new fridge but I didnt do so with a specific brand in mind. The LG I have now just so happened to be what I preferred when wholly considered, monetarily included. Along with a lot of others Im sure, my favorite part was of course the ice/water section built into the door. It made life that much more convenient, which is something we as a species crave seemingly primarily, convenience. The side by side design was weird to me at first, I mean compared to the traditional top and bottom design which has the homey feeling of childhood, that felt more like staying the night at a buddies. But over time Ive grown to love it overall.

UE and OE messages would pop up and stop the cycle. Wasting tons of water and costing us a lot of time. Took me twice as long to wash things. I was able to make it work for about 2 years. Only washing things at night after work. Now the machine cant make it 5 mins without stopping the cycle. The LG site bounces you around and makes it very hard to try and request a repair. Bought new bottom freezer french door refrigerator in February 2011, now in December 2011 fridge wont fully cool and water is leaking at the back left and from the bottom of the fridge. Called service at LG and they gave me a company who will fix. Four days later they called and said they do not service the area. Then LG gave me another company very far away and they didnt answer as they were on vacation. Finally after about 8 days, LG sent out someone who worked directly for them and he only fixed the filter and said everything else was fine. The temperature (noted by two new thermometers I have bought) inside was 42, despite the thermostat being set at 34! This man said it was the food that was supposed to be 34 not the air temperature! He said we needed to get a special thermometer to test the food temperature. That was crazy. The food was slowly going bad again. I have moved food in and out of he fridge because I have been told it needs to be empty for fixing and then told I could put food back in after it was fixed (it wasnt). This has happened three times. It is now three weeks later and while the water is no longer leaking, the fridge part is still not cooling properly. Their repair man says it is fixed. Very interesting that the warranty is going to be up in a few weeks. LG says someone will come out in three days. Why is it that they have no contract with fixer companies in my urban area (DC)? That is because the companies say LG pays very little to these companies and they dont want to work for them doing free warranty work. This is unacceptable.I have lost 100s of dollars of food over Christmas and New Year. I want all of us to file a class action lawsuit. I am truly fed up.

I bought an LG washer at Best Buy in 07. After less than 2 years, the gears went in the front load. I purchased an extended warranty through Best Buy and they had a service tech come out and diagnose it. They said it would be too much to fix so they replaced it. I was downgraded but I was just happy to have my washer back. That was September 09. I bought another extended warranty through Best Buy. Now, another 2 years later, it has stopped spinning and wont drain. I contacted Best Buy and they told me that my warranty expired in September 2011. They told me to contact the manufacturer. So I called LG and they said that they will not do anything. I then emailed LG to tell them that I was unhappy and I believe if you pay over a thousand dollars for a washer it should last for more than two years. They then emailed me back and told me again that there was nothing they could do about it and thanks for choosing LG and be blessed. That made me furious . The state of Maine has a 4-year implied warranty through the manufacturer. Dont buy anything LG . They dont stand behind their product.

After having a house fire and needing all new appliances, we decided to go with an LG 4 piece kitchen appliance package from Home Depot for nearly $3,000. Within 5 years (right after the extended warranty we purchased had expired) the dishwasher stopped draining. We ate the cost of that and got rid of it and purchased one from a competitor. We have also had problems with our oven, sometimes it will go through periods where it wont turn on, then its fine the next day. Again, we are just dealing with that at this point since we cant afford to purchase a new one right now. Finally, we are now dealing with our refrigerator. At $1600 our refrigerator has stopped working due to a bad compressor at less than 8 years old. There is only one technician in our area that LG will let repair this, and while the part is still covered by the manufacturer warranty, the labor is going to be between $500 and $700. This is ridiculous! We had so many options when choosing our appliances and we put our trust and money into LG. We have been living out of a mini fridge for two weeks because we dont have the money to make this repair. After reading all of the same complaints about this refrigerator, LG should be held accountable and make this right for their customers!

I THOUGHT I did proper research on dependability, etc., but boy was I wrong. After one week of use, the circuit board on the front-load washer went out. I called LG and the (2) reps I spoke with spoke VERY broken English, gave me a case # and told me to call a local appliance service for repair. That service took 10 days to get to my house, looked at it for less than 5 minutes, was rude and asked what we expected him to do as we had the units stacked (appropriately per the manual), said he needed to order a circuit board and would be back in touch. A week later, no word, I called the service facility and they now scheduled for yet another week out - three to four weeks for a repair? We previously had Maytag and Whirlpool front loads, left them at houses we sold, and are sooo sorry we didnt go back - LOVED our previous units, especially the Maytags, and it was local, English-speaking service. At less than 2 year of age my LG top-load washer malfunctioned and flooded my house. According to the washer repairman their assembly was such that the washer pressure sensor hose was wrapped around an arm and the vibration caused it to come loose, resulting in the washers inability to sense the water level - so it just kept filling. Not only did LG not stand behind my nearly new washer, this machine is pure junk. I know to watch and check that hose frequently although I can say its never had another issue with the assembly correction. Problem is it just doesnt clean. The water level varies such between loads that I always stand there to make sure enough water flows in to actual get all the items wet. I realize one of the so-called features is less water usage....but seriously if they dont get wet, its hard to clean. I noticed my whites and bright colors look dingy after a few washes, so I started watch closely - this is how I discovered the water issue. I now wash my clothes 2-3 times to get them clean enough...thats sad. I HATE this LG and will never purchase another of their products.

While our new LG free standing dual oven gas range cooked superbly, it is a clear danger and we convinced our retailer to accept return, even though they advised that LG would not. The control knobs turned inadvertently, allowing the gas line to open, without igniting. The technicians claimed it worked as designed. How could that be? On multiple occasions reaching for something in the cabinets above or the microwave caused the knobs the move, despite only grazing the knob. In a separate incident, our electrician placed a tarp on the range to prevent anything falling on the cook top and again, an inadvertent touching ignited the tarp. While nobody was hurt this time and no permanent property damage, we refused to accept this. We were very pleased with our retailer, PC Richard, when they agreed to the return. I also have an expensive Plasma TV that failed after only 12 years. What a rip off!

My dishwasher is not heavily used (6x/week) and within 18 months of owning it the stainless finish on the control panel (around the POWER) button started to wear off. I was told this was outside the warranty period and could pay to replace the door (for essentially 1/4 of the price I paid for the dishwasher). The dishwasher has been fine, not spectacular (the dishes are often still wet after drying overnight, I have tried every combination of drying cycles to improve this). Overall very disappointed in the quality of the dishwasher, wont be buying an LG product again.

Works as described. Quick temperature and easy to clean inside. Works fast and perfect. Much better than air fryer and food does not get dried. It heats up faster than other brands oven, so you can prepare a meal quicker.

I purchased an LG French door refrigerator in Sept. 2018. It quit cooling in March 2020. Had a service call and was told that the part would be ordered and the technician would come back to install it. Never heard back from the technician so I called the service center. I was told that the part had never been ordered and would be ordered. I never received a call regarding the part so I called again. I was told that the part was discontinued and could no longer be ordered. The person at the call center could not help me. I filed a complaint with the BBB. I was asked for proof of my purchase. I sent my Lowes credit card statement showing the purchase date, what was purchased, what store it was purchased from, and the price. The statement had all of the information that was requested from LG.LG came back and asked for the actual receipt. The original receipt was taken by the service technician so that he would have the information to order the part. I cannot get a copy since the Lowes store that I purchased the refrigerator from has since closed. Furthermore, LG has all of my information. When I made the initial service call, they looked up my account with my phone number and told me that they had all of my information. As of today, the BBB has closed my complaint as LG is refusing to repair or replace my refrigerator with the receipt that their technician has. Just infuriates me to be out $2,300.00! Buyer beware! There are several class action suits on the refrigerator that I purchased but LG continues to sell the defective appliance and so does Lowes. They have looked for every outlet to get out of making good on their appliance!

Like others have mentioned, the lint filter on the dryer lifts up on the corner where the clothes land as they tumble. This causes clothes to catch on the corner of the filter and get destroyed. This also allows more lint to get through past the filter, causing lint to buildup inside the dryer and in the ducts leading outside your home. Weve lost countless articles of clothing. We have replaced the lint filter, but it still sticks out and catches clothes.

LG has a good reputation, has stylish fridges that work well and last a long time. LG has definitely met my initial expectations. When I do finally purchase another fridge it will most likely be LG as well. Spacious, keeps items cold, never had an issue with it not working or things getting hot. Very good refrigerator that I expect to last a long time. I would like more door shelves and more drawers though. Very rarely it will get TOO cold and slightly freeze certain items, but that has only happened a couple times. 10 out of 10 even with that one tiny minute issues. Would recommend.

LG WT1101CW Top load washer - I purchased this washer January of 2014. I read the reviews in consumer reports and that is how I came to purchase this washer. My issue with it is that I feel it has more control over me than I do over it. It uses less water and does not saturate the items and because it uses less water, when you add chlorine bleach it leave chlorine fade marks on white wash as well as a darker wash. This has happened many times and a lot of my items were ruined. I do not believe that Consumer Reports tested this issue on clothing. I have also had to rewash my clothing because the dirt just didnt come out. I currently have sent LG an email with regard to this issue. Today, I just purchased a Kenmore with an agitator and it has a water level that I can choose. Although it is 3.6 cf as opposed to 4.3 cf. submitted by serial number. CHLORINE BLEACH DISPERSEMENT AND WATER LEVEL IS THE ISSUE. I have gotten unbalance codes but machine works and is quiet but I want my laundry clean.

I purchased a condo in October 2010. The condo came with an almost new LG washer/dryer (WM2101). The washing machine has not lasted even 5 years. About a month ago, the washer shut down with an Le error. I called the LG 800 help number and was instructed on how to reset the machine. Multiple attempts at resetting did not resolve the problem. After determining an authorized LG service provider in the southern California area, I had a service representative come to assess/diagnose the error. The service provider could tell me that from the serial number of the machine, that it had been manufactured in November 2009 - less than a year before I purchased the condo. Now, it is May 2015 - not even 6 years since date of manufacture - and the machine is shot. The Le error is due to worn out bearings in the machine. During the less than 5 years that I have owned this condo (and the washer/dryer), the machine has not even been used that much. The cost of repair of the machine (by this authorized service provider) would exceed the cost of a new LG washing machine. Not only would the cost of repair of the washing machine be excessive, the LG service provider did not recommend keeping the existing LG dryer, which was stacked on top of the washer. So, I would have to pay for removal of both machines - with an additional cost of $160 to unstack the machines. As far as I am concerned, I never intend on purchasing another LG appliance. I am appalled that the US government allows companies to prey on US consumers with the current quality of workmanship of manufactured goods - especially large (and expensive) appliances. What happened to appliances that lasted 20+ years - or even 10 years? These large appliances that do not last but 5 years are ending up in our landfills - or having to be disassembled for recycling. Environmentalists and legislators - where are you?
