I bought a front loading LG washer. It was one of the more pricey washers. Ive had it for 3 years and now it sounds like a 747 airplane is landing in the laundry room - LOUD grinding in spin cycle. The cost to replace this out of warranty is astronomical as it is a tub and bearing replacement. I posted this to the LG website for reviews and they sent me back an email saying the review did not meet their standards. I guess that is because it was a poor rating?? I will not do business with this company again. My previous washer lasted 10 years and this one only three - think I will skip LG in the future. It would be interesting to know how much LG earns on their repair side of the business.

Our refrigerator died right before the warranty expired ($3000 unit!). We have been 3 weeks without a fridge, lost hundreds of dollars worth of food, and are CONSTANTLY having to call customer service to get something done. The local repair service they sent out could not fix, yet I received an email from LG stating that it was fixed, and to take a survey. We speak with someone daily, and now just want them to get this POS out of our house and refund our money. So, even though they have ALL my info from registering the product.... I had to send them receipt copies. And THEN I get a return email stating, Unfortunately, I am away from my email right now, but I will reply as quickly as I can. This was less than 5 minutes after we spoke with her. After reading reviews, I wish I never bought this fridge. It looks like we will have to contact the BBB, and perhaps a lawyer. Will also be contacting Home Depot (where we bought it). DO NOT BUY LG PRODUCTS! Unless you like getting the runaround.

No stars - I would never by an LG product again. My wife has cancer and it took them 4 months to get one part - once it came in 5 repair men called it unfixable. This was a 2009 high end fridge that has us running to the garage in sub zero temps to use a 20 year old Kenmore. Worst experience ever.

LFX21960** everything melted, they are sending someone out???? LG Refrigerator Class Action Lawsuit. A design defect in certain LG refrigerator models causes the interior light to stay on after the doors are closed, resulting in overheating, food spoilage, melted plastic and risk of serious fire hazard, according to a class action lawsuit filed in federal court in New Jersey. The defect alleged in the lawsuit involves French door refrigerator models sold since 2005.. I was not informed of the lawsuit and it has been settled. Ugggg.

Refrigerator model LMX 28988ST - The manual for the appliance states that all sealed components are covered by a 7 year warranty for parts. Our freezer failed and on calling LG, we were required to pay $195 under their One Price program for all parts & labour associated with the service call. The technician deemed that the part was not repairable and that the entire appliance has to be replaced. LG now claims that the paperwork side of this takes 10 business days to resolve and we will only get a Prorated value of the appliance. To me, its simple - a part covered by warranty must be repaired, replaced, or the consumer otherwise kept whole. One thing is certain - I may be forced into a replacement LG unit, but is the last LG product of any kind I will ever buy.

I bought this washer to replace a 20yr old Kenmore when I moved to my new house. Large loads, blankets etc I was told it would work for all. Within a year there was a recall because it became unbalanced. I had that fixed. Every time I do a large or heavy item this machine goes off balance. It does not stop but goes over and over again from the beginning, wasting water and electricity. In other words I have to do multiple loads and/or stay in the house checking on the machine to be sure it doesnt go into this wasteful cycle. I will never buy a LG product again and in only 3 yrs I am looking to replace this one.

I bought this top of the line washer and matching dryer because my wife has never had very much because we both work unskilled labor jobs. She was so happy I even bought the 400 dollar matching pedestals. They look beautiful to this day but they break a lot, cant go 6 months without a problem. Worst set I have ever owned. I wish I would have gone to Sears and got a basic top loader with proven track record. I know I could have bought 3 sets for the price of the LGs. Never again LG. Where is our great Consumer protection agency at? I could have bought her a nice car for the money I have spent keeping these two LGs running since 2006. When I wear my clothes they stink. I guess we need to go back to doing our clothes at the Laundromat.

Bought our LG French door refrigerator Sept 2017, July of 2018 our fridge stopped working. Customer service is horrible. With every call we hear that we will get an email in 3 to 5 days and that there is no one to service it in this area so it will take longer for someone to come out. We never receive the emails and have put out 3 calls to them each time we are told we are on the list. After the second week of waiting, our fridge has started cooling again and we are unsure what to make if it. Nervous to use it since we are unsure if it will stop working again and we will be out more food items. With a fridge less than 1 year old that we are still paying for we are truly frustrated! It has now been 3 weeks of waiting and still nothing. Our fridge is under the 1 year warranty but what good does that do if nobody comes to fix it! Buyer beware!

The first problem was (what I found out is very common) the pump broke. The hose had to be drained and the pump replaced. Paid for new pump from authorized LG repairman plus fee for his visit. Second problem, the dryer settings stopped working. No matter what settings were selected the dryer stopped at 20 minutes. Clothes were not dry. Now we can only use the Time Dry and Temperature selection. At least we can dry the clothes. Third, the washer stopped working. We tried following instructions from LG and nothing worked. They suggested calling their authorized repairman who would charge for the visit as well as parts, etc. All the blue lights blink but the washer will not choose a setting and doesnt start. We tried holding the start button down for 3-10 seconds. Song plays. Nothing happens. Still cannot select setting. Occasionally it is in a good mood and works normally--about 1 in 200 tries. The only way I have been getting it to wash clothes at all is by holding down the Start button at the same time as the Pause/Play button. Then IT selects a setting, usually Cotton, and the door locks and washer starts. All through cycle all lights blink including the orange one for Delayed Wash. Now nothing is happening but the blue lights for Start and Pause/Play come on, song plays and no selection, no start, no way to operate washer. We were told LG was the BEST brand. Lifes Good their commercials say. They should change them to LNG: Lifes Not Good because now we cant wash our clothes and drying must be done manually. THESE WERE VERY EXPENSIVE APPLIANCES. SHOULD HAVE GONE TO SEARS AND BOUGHT THE CHEAPEST ONES SO WE COULD REPLACE THEM WHEN THEY BREAK. Its cheaper than paying the authorized repairman to come out, pay for his visit and parts. All computerized and were told on the phone that the whole panel might need to be replaced. THAT WILL NEVER HAPPEN.

Well it just stopped working in March of this year (2020) so out of protection plan. LG technician came out and diagnosed leak in the yoder loop. Unrepairable. Turns out after more digging, there is a class action lawsuit going on against LG for this very problem! I have reached out to the class action attorneys to get resolve. I like the style of the fridge but this is BS after just six years.

Our LG fridge over here in Florida, has required 2 compressors and the ice machine does not work. The compressor they replaced stop working 5 years later. They wont replace the part they repaired and now I have to pay out of pocket and lose out on groceries for the week. The fridge was purchased in 2010. In 2015 compressor was replaced. On 2/23/20 same replaced compressor broke.I called and first person said that compressor was covered and all I would have to do is pay the tech. Called the tech. They didnt have any lg techs. They were hiring. Called back to get an updated list. None was emailed to me. Called back to speak to a manager and she said I am not covered for anything and basically she was just sorry I had to pay for everything on my own. I am stuck without a fridge and groceries that I have to throw out. She also stated the first customer service made no note of being covered for the compressor.

We did not have a lot of options based on the size opening we have in our kitchen and it was the one the best fit our wish list of features and style but that would not involve us having to uninstall cabinets in order to make space. I like side by side doors with the freezer on the bottom. The special compartments in the side door are also a good feature that I didnt know I needed but now wouldnt want to be without. The one thing that I would for sure change is the door alarm timing. I would want to keep it the same for the freezer but wish that we would have the option of making it a little longer for the refrigerator doors. Its not even enough time to grab all the ingredients we need or to put away a full load of groceries.

Got this LG top of the line unit October 2015. Within a month the water began filling through the detergent AND softener trays simultaneously. Did the digital wifi help thing dozens of times with my cellphone, they said nothing wrong, clean your inlet filters. What??? By December the tub failed to fill with enough water at all to wash anything, regardless which tray side was filling from. A load of Pure Colors came out literally with dry spots in the clothing! Add to that, the balancer within the direct drive unit was slipping badly, somewhat similar to a bad car clutch, and any size load on any cycle was being violently bashed against the inside frame. Sounded like my front door was being kicked in. So, to sum up, I have $878 worth of scrap in my house that will not fill properly, wash properly or spin properly. I still have 7 more months on the financial contract, and Im sick about it.LG finally hooked me up with an in house service guy --- he never replied to the 2 service calls that were set up --- and closed out both tickets saying customer reported solved. Really? By the way, the name of this place was Als TV and Model Railroad so that about sums up the quality of LG service!!! My lawyer is requesting certified copies of LGs warranty, the financial contract, and my phone and web interactions. I dont want to feel as if my only option is legal action, but I will if LG leaves me no other option.

I bought my LG Refrigerator LFX28968ST March 2015 and after 3 years my compressor breaks. A repairman came to my house and charged me $450 in labor to install the new part. The repair man installed the new compressor and the refrigerator seemed to be cooling. The next day the refrigerator stopped cooling again. I called the repair man and he came back out to my house worked on the refrigerator for about 1 hour 1/2 and told me everything was working properly. The next day refrigerator stopped cooling again. I called the repairman. He came back out to my house for the third time and spent another hour 1 1/2 working on the refrigerator supposedly fixed it. The next day still not cooling. Called the repairman and he told me he was going to refund me all my money and I needed to buy new refrigerator because it is a lemon. I spent $2800 on this refrigerator and it cannot be fixed. I wish I would have read reviews on here before purchasing. I bought four LG kitchen appliances less than a year ago. My fridge/freezer stopped working correctly and I have been getting the run around from LG for the past week. I have been calling every 24 hours for an update. Each time I call, I get a new timeline. First it was 24-48 hours, then it was 3 business days, then 3-5 business days, then they escalated my case which means another 3-5 business days. They tell me they cannot find someone in my area to come repair it although I live in suburban Chicago. Ive called service providers listed on their website who said they could come out the next day but LG has still not contacted them directly. I lost a freezer and fridge full of groceries and now cannot have any fresh food while in the middle of a pandemic. I am very unhappy with their customer service and the quality of my fridge.

We purchased the refrigerator the first of the year, 2015. After four years it stopped working. We called the company for them to schedule a repairman to come out. When we didnt hear back within a couple of days we called back. They told us that the serviceman was too far out and wouldnt come. They had not told us nor scheduled for someone else to come out. So after speaking with him again he scheduled for another serviceman to come out. Over the next few weeks and numerous servicemen it went something like this: 1. Sorry, I dont have the expertise to work on these. 2. I dont work on any with the Freon problems. 3. I wont work on them because we have a dispute with LG.4. Too far for me to travel to your city from here.LGs reputation precedes them. One repairman asked me if I knew what LG stood for. He saw my puzzled look and replied Lost Groceries. After two or three weeks we finally get a repairman that can work on our refrigerator. But oops, the company sent the wrong compressor to our home for him. More wait to get another one and schedule another date. This was February of this year, 2019. We lost everything in the frig and they would not reimburse us because we didnt have the sales receipt. They knew by their records where we purchased it from, the date, the date of registration and we sent them the bill of lading from the store. It was not good enough. I tried to come to terms with all of it and just be happy it was working again.Forward a few months to July 3, 2019 and our refrigerator is once again not working. We will lose all the food that was just purchased. They scheduled for a serviceman to come out but we dont know if it is one they called before that cant/wont work on it or not until they come. I fear it is going to be another two to three week ordeal again. And I dont know how long the fix will last. I just want to unload this refrigerator and get something of quality that I know will work. I loved the look of the frig and thought it would be a dream to have but instead it is a nightmare. I would never again purchase an LG product. I wish I had read reviews before purchasing it. I hope this review will help someone considering this same purchase.

I bought the LG model LDF7932ST in 2006. It was supposed to be top of the line. Quiet, efficient, etc. and expensive - $1200. From day one, it was noisy and the smell was so bad when I ran it, I would set it to go on at 2 am when I was sleeping. Not to mention, it took 2 hours. It made all kinds of noises. The smell was vile. Then the bottom rack was always getting stuck on the door seal gasket on bottom right. Then the damn wheels would come off. Couldnt move the basket in or out. I would always have to push the bottom draw towards the left, be very careful with it. It was extremely annoying. Always getting stuck. Now the strip of metal that holds the rubber seal has actually come off of the side of the inside liner. Now I cant even push the draw in or out at all. Spoke to tech. He confirmed over the phone that it could not be fixed and that he had seen it before. So now I have to buy a new dishwasher and it wont be an LG. This is a flaw in their design. Their products stink.

Failed compressor on a 4 year old Kenmore Elite French door refrigerator. It was manufactured by LG and sold by Sears Canada. Of course I purchased the extended warranty which is now null and void after having been underwritten by now defunct Sears Canada. LG Canada basically told me to go ** myself. I am Horrified that I spent 4000$ on an LG refrigerator and LG won’t step up to make this right given the known issue of compressor failure. The repair bill is estimated to be 1000$, which I cannot afford. I’ve had to purchase an inexpensive used fridge and move a basically lightly used top of the line refrigerator to storage in hopes that LG may step up and do what is right. It is untenable that consumers are being exploited in this way and treated with such a lack of care or concern. I am thoroughly disappointed and will be pursuing every avenue to see my money returned. So far, LG has proven they are driven by profit - they are knowingly selling defective appliances to consumers. I recommend that folks avoid LG manufactured products and spend their money on appliances that are manufactured by reputable companies that will stand behind their product. Compressors should last 10-20 years. 4 years??! They are defective and LG needs to own their mistakes.

Customer service at LG had no idea what I was talking about. I bought a french door model# LFC25776ST less than 4 years ago. Last November the compressor broke, after much runaround and redundant customer service, it was fixed under warranty (I paid labor of course as well as service calls from multiple technicians). LG gave me several names of repair techs they claimed were in my area, none of them were. I ended up finding one that can work on LG brand and convinced LG they were the only one in my area. 6 months later, the freezer and fridge are sitting around 40 degrees. The repair tech replaced the motherboard and fan before concluding the compressor failed again. I called LG and after they insisted on troubleshooting over the phone, they were convinced my fridge was not level, even though I told them a professional had diagnosed it already. I verified with 3 different levels that my fridge was sitting perfectly square. I guess Im just going to have to buy a new compressor every year until the 10 year sealed system warranty is up. I really wish I could talk to someone who actually knows what theyre talking about and cares about the customer. They outsource their call center to India where these people are just reading off a screen. GARBAGE. DONT BUY LG.

It looks ugly. The shelves in the refrigerator have broken rails. Really, these appliances are only four years old. I have a second refrigerator in the garage thats twenty years old and still in great condition. I paid too much money to have these items look like theyve been through the war!

I purchased an LG Easy Clean microwave in 2014. The unit wasn’t exactly cheap but I figured I’d invest in a better quality unit. Recently (2018) I noticed the smell of burning and sparking coming from the unit. I opened the door and noticed that the inside lower left corner was physically melted??? I have never experienced anything like this with any other microwave in my life. Obviously I felt this was a safety issue and an obviously defective microwave.I called LG and jumped through all their hoops, providing them photos etc. They were supposed to call me back (they didn’t). When I called back I was told that they only offer a 1 yr warranty and the fact that I got 4 yrs out of it was good. Umm, a melted door is good??? Long story short, LG told me I can try to find someone to repair it but it will be costly and recommended I buy a new one. Yup, after only 4 yrs. I asked if a “MELTED DOOR” was particularly concerning to LG? He said no, it’s 4 years old. Umm, well I guess it had a good run in LG’s eyes. I’ll never buy from LG or any affiliate again. WOW!??

After considerable review, we (in hindsight, unfortunately) purchased a Suite of LG products last year (2019), the FRENCH DOOR LFXC22526S being the refrigerator leg of it. From the day we literally plugged it in, it has been, and continues to be, a disappointment. For a company with a footprint of LG, were appalled at both their lack of engineering and Customer Support. Our issue became noticeable day 1 when the appliance was not cooling properly. The first indicator was the milk, (which was stored on the refrigerator door rack to accommodate a gallon size, was WARM. My wife proceeded to purchase a thermostat to monitor the temperatures within the cavity of the unit. For the limited cubic space it has, the temperatures varied considerably. We proceeded to contact Customer Service, and for a unit right out of the box, we immediately encountered additional challenges. 1- Our first contact was with a Customer Service Representative in the Philippines who spoke Very broken (if any) English. (Follow up calls were just a bad.) For such global company you would expect them to have better matched resources to offer its customers. 2- To have a Technician visit the situation, they would potentially charge a $50 Service Call. (Again, the unit is not even a week old. That policy took some arm wrestling, but it led to being waived.) 3- Fast forward, a Technician did arrive at the house to physically and wirelessly confirm the settings. NO PROBLEM. At this juncture, my wife was getting a bit perturbed and stated a temperature measuring 40 degrees is not only a problem, its a health hazard. The Technicians solution was to recommend we rearrange the contents where items as mustard, pickles, salad dressings, butter.... should only be on the door racks. Items as milk, even though the door has a rack to accommodate a gallon container, should go on a shelf. (Its noteworthy to mention; weve stored milk on the refrigerator door for the last 40 years with no temperature problems!) When we proceeded to challenge that rationale, his final cure all was the straw that broke the camels back... we just havent adapted to it yet. Those remedies are very shallow for a unit that costs ~$2,000 with supposedly state of the art engineering. We cant fathom how a major entity as LG can be so deficient in some basic engineering features compounded further by their shallow offerings for customer satisfaction. We did not proceed with the Extended Warranty they offered primarily due to its cost. Layered on top of that, the manner they addressed the above circumstance further discouraged us as I have strong reason to believe we would likely get the same run with any service calls. That, and reading other reviews, causes me to proceed ahead with fingers crossed on both hands. For their sake, I hope LG reviews these posted complaints as they are legitimate issues they should take some ownership of. I (and others) will have serious second thoughts about purchasing ANY of their products with an LG name plate.

I purchased an LG electric oven range only four years ago. After 2 year two of the burners gave out. After calling customer service; they came over, charged me $250.00 and replaced control panel. This was without any diagnosis. Exactly one year later the burner gave out again. After calling their customer service and talking with technician, they offered another service call and replacement for $250.00. Their reason there is only 90 days guarantee on the parts. Very unfriendly and not willing to accept the an oven and the part that is replaced by them should last longer than one year. They offered I can purchase their warranty for $450.00 and the warranty lasts for one year. It is like their only reason is to ask for more money from consumers without making sure they are happy with the product.

I have purchased an LG washer dryer model FH4U1JBH2N for £839.00, and I have received the appliance with a manufacturer defect. The washer dryer does not have the right control panel (no Drying option available on screen). No other option was offered apart from keeping the washer dryer and sending a technician to fix the defect. Imagine you purchase a cabrio car after checking the photos, the store and reviews. But you receive a regular family car... the manufacturer states that they can only come to you and cut the car open to transform it into a cabrio. In other word, you purchase a new machine, and it comes with a defect, and the manufacturer are not dependable for not meeting the specifications. What sort of company is LG? Would you like to do business with a company that does not care of the consumer/customer? Feels like, that what they see are just numbers... making profit out of people who trust a brand. DO NOT PURCHASE AN LG PRODUCT unless you want to face poor customer care, poor after sales care, poor manners over the phone, poor quality of the product and most importantly 0 dependability. I had the washer-fake-dryer since the end of August 2016 and its useless as it does not do the job I purchased it for. The retailer does not want to recollect the product as they state it is LG which has to approve the recollection. LG states it is not their issue.

This has been going on for months and it isnt going away. I run the clean cycle every few weeks hoping to keep the tub clean but it doesnt work. Ive run the clean cycle using a quart of bleach and then again using a quart of vinegar. The tub never drains properly and that is what is causing the mold. We purchased our first and last LG appliance and 30 days after the one year
We purchased our first and last LG appliance and 30 days after the one year warranty had expired the fridge and freezer totally broke down. The unit was just over a year old, brand new. Well I called LG and because it was over the year they said for a tech to come out to my house would cost a lot of money and only the compressor would be covered and I would have to pay for the tech to come to the house. I contacted Direct Energy and they sent a tech with their program they have. I lost over $1,000 worth of food. I was without a fridge freezer for over 21 days.LG is very selective about their parts who they give them to, but to wait 21 days with 2 small kids and no fridge freezer its crazy. Well finally everything was fixed for 30 days and the fridge freezer broke down again and the ice maker ice melted all over the floor. Once again called a tech, I had just restocked my fridge and freezer again and lost everything. Apparently the rule bet membrane around the freezer is loose, the ice maker has to be replaced and the fridge stopped working. The unit I purchased from LG was over $3,800.00. What a wasted of money LG products are. Do not waste your money or time. We will see if it ever gets fixed.

Avoid, Avoid, Avoid! We purchased a LG French Door refrigerator/freezer 28 cu ft (Model LFXS2926W/01) in April 2016. In late May of 2018 both lower and upper linear compressors failed along with the evaporators along with complete loss of refrigerant. Service rep came by in early June to identify the problem. Two weeks later the parts were delivered and they are back for the three hour repair. Three weeks from day of failure to day of repair. The service rep tell me that this appears to be a consistent problem with most if not all LG French door units. So $660.00 (labor and service call costs) later I hope to have it resolved. They have already warned me (because I asked) that this compressor/evaporator replacement will work properly for the next 2-3 years, before a predicted failure will occur again on the same components. The ten year warranty covers the compressor and a seven year warranty covers the evaporator. I asked their opinion on why such a generous warranty program given the predicted failure rate. The statement was the product (refrigerators internal cooling components) is over engineered and it is probably cheaper in the long run to provide the warranty than it is to have to submit to a product recall or redesign of the failed parts. I have purchased my last LG product of any kind and I am sharing our experience with everyone I can.

I purchased this LG fridge in 2014 and was very pleased with it till this past week when it has been nothing but an issue. Out of the blue it completely lost all power, no lights, no display panel, no fans or compressor. We had to throw all all the food that we had purchased for the holidays. I called LG customer support and was very disappointed, as all they could do was ask me to try another outlet and then try to charge me $125 just to have someone come look at it. They recommended a local service that was approved by them, so I called and scheduled an appointment. They came out and replaced the PCB and the power came back and the fridge and freezer appeared to be working fine. After 48 hrs the Fridge still had power but everything thawed out and all the ice melted making a mess in the fridge and on the floor. Not to mention, the second batch of food that had to be thrown out because we filled the fridge after 24 hrs when it appeared to be working. When I called customer support, they were zero help and told me I had to deal with the repair service that made the repair. Of course it was a weekend so I had wait another two days. When I got in touch with the repair company they told me that if it was a sealed system or compressor issue, they could diagnose it but were not authorized to repair it. So basically I wasted my money, because the repair company that LG told me to call is not authorized to make the repair. When I called LG customer service back, all they told me was that they could schedule another LG repair person to come out, which I would have to pay another $125 for, to diagnose and make the repairs. I complained about having to pay another fee when if they referred me to the correct repair service to begin with, I wouldnt have had to pay the second fee. Their response was just that they were sorry and there wasnt anything they could do. After complaining and continuing to ask to speak to someone else I was put on hold and when they came back, they told me all they could do was file a formal complaint to upper management about the incorrect referral but I was assured there was no guarantee anything would happen or that I would even receive a followup call to resolve the complaint.I was very upset to find out that this seems to be a common issue with these LG fridges. A quick search on the internet and speaking to the repair service, they see multiple calls a week on these LG Fridges due to bad PCB and or compressor failures. It is nice that LG warranties the compressor for 10 yrs, however its, disturbing that they all seem to fail before 10 yrs and the warranty doesnt cover the labor or help with the hardship and loss of money as a result of the fridge failing to work. The worst part of the experience has been the support from LG. Im not a qualified technician but Im pretty handy and can diagnose most problems. When talking with LG customer support they have zero interest in hearing the symptoms and the troubleshooting that has been done to try to work through the issue. As soon as they are done with their pre-determined check list of questions, they quickly rush you off the phone to schedule a repair man to come out which of course they charge you for.

I bought this dishwasher in January 2015 and it has been a nightmare since I have had it. While under warranty LG had 5 different people out to fix it. I have not been able to use this dishwasher more than able to use it. I paid approximately $800.00 for this dishwasher and the one I had when I lived at an apartment was 100x better than this. Didnt clean well... ALWAYS problems with it. LG would not replace, kept fixing issues with it. I had to have the motor replaced, door replaced, dish soap dispenser replaced 2x, steam vent replaced, hoses replaced, seals replaced and it has been a lemon since day one. Again, last night after having yet another repairman out and only repaired about a couple of weeks ago, it breaks again and wont even come on. Seriously, what a piece of junk. Will never purchase another LG product again. Went out this morning and purchased another dishwasher. The LG is now out of warranty. Oh, and also one of the repairman told me that LG should just replace it and guess what, never heard from that repairman again. They said his work was not up to par... Initially, I had a pretty old top loader washing machine 16 years old (NOT LG) and it worked perfectly - actually loved it and all of my clothes came out clean and perfect! My husband thought hed surprise me with a VERY EXPENSIVE, brand new $2,500 LG front loader washing machine and dryer from Best Buy. I didnt even want it because our older set was fantastic! In any case, heres where all of the problems started. I should sue LG just for all the fights and yelling I did to my husband (ha ha) for this piece of CRA-!!! Now all of the problems. Immediately, everything smelled like mold, especially the towels (even though, we did the bleach wash as suggested and left the doors opened), SO MANY RUINED CLOTHES (almost every day our clothes got holes and rips) - I threw away about 5 pieces of clothing a week & it actually became a joke of everyday showing and telling my husband about another item I have to throw out because of the stupid washing machine. Also, even though, I dont use bleach when I wash, the lame bleach cleaning cycles later ended up leaving horrible bleach marks on our clothes. We owned the LG washing machine and dryer for about 1 year and I left it when we moved to our new home, my headaches are now over. Now I have a very old top loader washing machine (NOT LG) and my clothes get clean, no more holes, stains or moldy smells - I love it! Also, no more yelling at my husband :o))) Side note: We also had a LG flat screen TV that we purchased from Costco - it completely died after a few years. What have I learned: NEVER BUY LG PRODUCTS - PIECES OF JUNK!

He asked for a new service date and said they would call me. New service date would be August 24! The unit was repaired with a new compressor but who knows how long this one will last. If this condition is not corrected by unplugging the drain hole, the water that normally goes down into the catch pan to be evaporated away ends up dripping through the bottom freezer cooling vents and freezing to the bottom freezer floor. The only way to correct this is to remove the back plastic cover and expose the evaporator coil where the ice build-up must be melted and removed, along with defrosting the drain hole so that water is allowed to flow freely again. Attach a small copper wire to the heating line, which is just under the evaporator coil, and thread it down into the drain hole. This will help to keep the hole open by transferring some heat to the drain hole during the defrost cycle, thus melting any ice that has built up during the cooling cycle. There are some excellent YouTube instructions online on how to remove all the plastic parts without doing damage. Good luck.

We bought an LG Dishwasher, Washer & Dryer - BIG MISTAKE, 3 pieces of JUNK!!! The washer always spins unbalanced. Cant fix it! Then the bleach dispenser stopped working a year later. The door got real tight and started leaking. Called LG. Repair guy shows up just to find out whats wrong and order parts. Orders a new door. 2 weeks later, he shows up with a RED door - our washer is white. He says, Guess I should of checked the box. Two more weeks go by and we finally get a white door. Bleach dispenser still doesnt work. It washes OK but we hate it anyway!

I bought a brand new LG refrigerator that only worked for 1 month. I have been calling and over and over to get a replacement. The only thing LG and Home Depot do is send a technician to replace the SAME part over and over without actually fixing the problem. The refrigerators lights dont work, the doors have trouble closing, its not freezing, and its not cooling. I havent had a working fridge in over 2 months and no one seems to know what they are doing. I do not recommend this brand, Home Depot and the A&E technicians that do not do their job.

Bought a LG washing machine in December of 2011. In October of 2014 it just died with no warning. It cost $336.31 to fix. I tried to get help from LG with the cost of the repair and they either hang up on you or keep you on hold so long that the call gets lost. Even when you give them the information they ask for, they are still unwilling to help you with the cost of fixing it. They really act like they do not care about the financial burden in the consumer. The main board had to be replaced after less than 3 years. The serial # is 110kwhxax921 and the model # is WT4801CWABW(0). I will never purchase anything LG again.

They are extremely dangerous as you can see from other peoples reviews. I have the same experiences. Including accidentally brushing a knob as I took my small children upstairs to bed. I also went to bed and 30 minutes later went downstairs to get water. At that time the entire downstairs was filled with gas. The house could of exploded in the middle of night with us in it. Or been asleep while the fumed reached us upstairs! If I hadnt gone I dont know what could of happened us! My almost two year old can turn the stove on. It is extremely dangerous. If you see this file a complaint and make LG do the right thing with these knobs. Shame on you LG!!!

We will see but we are still waiting for 4 days for service. Ill keep you posted but this Made in Korea was over $2300 and didnt last 1 year and a half. We still dont know if parts are under warranty... Keep tuned and stay away from LG refrigerators.

Purchased our first big purchase for our kitchen remodel. All LG products. Stainless steel. Big upgrade for us. The dishwasher had 2 minor problems that we were able to fix. Our refrigerator (model LFX28978ST/0) although has had 3 of the shelves in the door cracked, a rolling wheel on the Vegetable bin broke, the clear cover on the butter dish broke and the ice tray cracked. All within 3 year of purchase. LG suggests we purchase the entire ice maker $180 just for a $10 ice tray, the vegetable bin is no longer available. The other parts I was able to purchase at $150. After contacting LG I understand they dont even sell replacement parts. You have to go through a parts business. I will never purchase another LG product again and I will make sure all my friends, family and all my contacts on Facebook know about the terrible customer service and shoddy craftsmanship LG has.

Do not buy LG products! I purchased an LG refrigerator LFX21960ST from Home Depot. The refrigerator is only 4 years old and the fan for the freezer has failed. I purchased the extended warranty. I just spoke with the LG customer service organization and what a loser company. It will take 2 days to get service repair and in the meantime, the food in my freezer will be lost. The people I spoke to at LG were completely unconcerned about helping with my repair and made no effort to get service personnel to my house earlier so that I will not lose all the food in my freezer. We purchased an LG Bottom Freezer Fridge in 2011, cost over $2000. To date we have had 3 service calls for faulty boards to a drilling sound loud enough to drown out my TV in the next room. I paid $200 for an extended warranty to repair the first time the drilling sound started. Warranty valid for 90 day only. 1 year to the day, the drilling sound started again. I called LG customer service. The first person Eddie hung up less than 5 minutes into the call. Called back to a person by the name of Luigie. I explained the issue to him, he had 2 ways to resolve the problem, 1: spend another $200 for a service call or 2: unplug my fully stocked refrigerator for a few days, when asked if LG was going to replace the spoilage, he said that LG does not assume that liability however, he did tell me that the issue is known by LG. Never again will I buy an LG product!

I have had less than acceptable experiences with this fridge since we purchased it Feb. 27, 2012 from Home Depot. Soon after our purchase, it started making really loud grinding and lawn mower noises. They would last for a week, and then stop. At first, we thought it may be normal, but as the problem persisted, I called to have someone help me understand what was happening. They said it was buildup of frost, and explained what to do. Long story short, it kept happening, and finally our freezer drawer stopped suctioning. Someone came out, and everything seemed to be ok, and now it is happening again. Freezer door is not closing on its own and soon we will have the same problem. I called LG they want almost $400 to send someone out! Last time I had to send my receipt, the printed order from Home Depot and had several case numbers just to get it repaired. We have a fridge in our garage that is 20 years old and it works perfectly fine, but has rust on the doors and shows its age - which is why we bought a new product, supposedly better, but very disappointing. I will not purchase another LG fridge again.

We purchased an LG top load model WT55101H washer in August 2011. By the following year, we started having problems with the UE feature and it would continually add water to try to balance itself. It took hours to wash. It would stop on UE several times. Finally I would remove dripping wet clothes and wring them in sink by hand. I responded to a recall letter in early February. Sears sent 4 repairmen and I made 5 appointments (one no show), always between 1 and 5PM. This went on until March. Sears spent over $1,000 to fix a $900 washer and to this day it has never worked. It kept showing UE. One of the worst features or sensors someone can place in a washer. I will never buy an LG product from South Korea and currently being sold at Sears right now.

Machine does not fully drain, allowing a smell to build up and be washed back into your clothes. Difficult to clean debris from drain holes in rubber seal. In the event that you need to drain the machine, there is no drain function. It needs to be manually drained from a tiny hose at the bottom of machine. And for us, that meant into a hose, through the garage and down the driveway. Look for a drain feature on my next purchase!

We purchased this washer from Lowes late June 2015. I could not believe this washer was doing such a poor job and tried different things to make it work: smaller loads, bigger loads, use of different programs, temperatures, detergents, use of Laundry+System, loading in a way that would leave an empty space above the core of the machine... By the time I was finished trying anything I could think of, the 30 days I had to return the washer were gone and I had to keep this totally inefficient machine. This item has been nothing but a perpetual frustration. It rinses clothes with soap, it does not wash. We have two little ones and any food or material sticking to fabric turns in a wet gooey texture that get intertwined in the fabric, becomes very hard once dried and impossible to remove. Adult clothes are not washed better. I never had such bad whites, even using chlorine. I regret having purchased this machine. I regret even more having tried to make it work. With 4 to 6 loads a week, its a permanent frustration.

LG French door model - I purchased one of the most expensive fridges in the LG lineup about 3.5 years ago. It stopped working - no cold air anywhere. I called LG, and they offered me a flat rate deal to send a technician and fix the fridge (about $210). I paid and a technician came. The problem was the compressor relay. He could not order the part because it was discontinued. It took LG 4 weeks to agree that the part was not available (during that time, I was without a fridge). Every time I called to inquire, they told me to be patient. Now, their only offer is to pro-rate the fridge value and pay me around $900 towards the value of a new LG Fridge. I asked for a replacement; they refused. To add insult to injury, they said I am not even getting back the full $210 repair cost because the technician still has to get paid, although nothing was fixed. LG makes a wide range of goods. I will not be buying any of their products, ever.

LG Tromm. Well reviewed. No experience with the brand, so it was the first time. It was very expensive 11 years ago, but seems to have come down in price. Extremely satisfied with all the options, for e.g., delay wash, hand wash. The only problem was the mould around the rubber seals. I cant seem to get rid of it, even though Ive tried everything suggested, both by professionals and on the internet. The capacity was large enough to wash a King duvet and clothing for a family of 5. It needed to be energy efficient because we do 3 full loads a week. It had excellent reviews. Repairs are our main concern. Although we bought extended warranties for the pair (washing machine and dryer), it doesnt cover all parts or repairs, but for most. I wish the sales associate gave us the pros and cons of these machines. We have more pros when reviewing the LG Tromm, but more information about the mould problem would have helped.

Updated on 07/25/2019: I thought I would be coming back here to change my rating. An LG rep contacted me in private conversation on this site after I posted my original review. He promised in writing (sent the transcript to LGs repair website) to fix the problem with no charge. I spent hours of submitting the required pictures, information, and the transcript of the conversation. The rep who spoke with me and reviewed the conversation said that since I was promised a courtesy repair and since I submitted the proof, that an LG rep would be contacting me by phone within the next two days. Instead, I just received an email in my junk mail that THEY COULD NOT APPROVE THE REPAIR. So, my original review stands at one star. It should be lower because they did not follow through on their promise. On my original review, it states Resolution in Progress. SADLY, THEY HAVE NO INTENTION ON RESOLVING THIS. It would have been better for them to turn me down OR NOT OFFER in the first place than promise the courtesy repair and renege. I DIDNT ASK THEM TO FIX IT, I was just writing a review on their product. They offered to fix it. Never again will I buy and LG product. And I will discourage all my friends and acquaintances against it. Dont buy anything LG--there are so many other better brands out there with real customer service!Original review: We purchased an LG refrigerator and almost immediately the covering on the control panel started peeling. Its my fault that I didnt take care of it right away, but it was only cosmetic. At the time, we were in the middle of a military move and had many other things that needed attention. The fridge is only 6 years old, but now the peeling has almost reached the fonts that tell you what your choices are. As it peels, it turns black underneath so once it reaches the wording, we wont be able to read the available choices. The customer service rep says it will be $125.00 to send someone out and they do not sell the required part to customers. Only a technician can bring the part. Cheap product- wont buy again.

Oh boy!!! Thank goodness i read these reviews. A few weeks ago i cooked spaghetti and the lg micro above the stove stopped working - control panel out except for : showing. Inside light still on. Left it alone and next morning i played around with door. Voila - number 8 came up on its own. Then one by one things began working again. Last night i cooked spaghetti again. Yep - did it again. Mind you - i am NOT using the micro to cook. But the micro gets so hot from the oven and i believe overheats the micro panel. Again, i unplugged it and went to bed. This morning it again took some fiddling and eventually a beep. So i was able to turn on the light (my main purpose in needing it to work - i need a light on that side of the kitchen). So i reset the time, etc. But as i am reading these scary reviews, the number 2 just popped onto the screen. After reading these reviews, i know it will eventually stop all together. But why i am SO glad that i read these comments is that i will now unplug it whenever i go out or go to bed at night. LG needs to step up to the plate and do a mass recall with a free replacement of another brand until they can get it right. Obviously no one wants another one of these. Who is with me on a class action suit?Thank you all for taking the time to report the extreme dangers of this unit. You probably just saved my house from burning down!!

We did our research years ago and was convinced that LG products were great. I dont care what the pros say on their website. I am here to tell you that I WILL NOT buy another LG product. The washer isnt so bad; only when it says the wash will take 56 minutes - it may be 90 minutes. The dryer is another story. If you are drying something with straps, forget it; it will be ruined. The straps get caught in the vent, twists them and snaps the straps off. Three of wifes items could not be repaired. Then it doesnt dry. When you hit normal (41 minutes and 1/3rd of the time when the vent doesnt twist the clothes), sometimes the clothes will dry and sometimes it wont. I have come to know that reviews may not be accurate. I have been offered money to write a positive review on a car that I test-drove so be wary of reviews by manufacturers.

I researched ovens forever and finally settled on an LG. I was so excited. I used it twice - once for a frozen dinner and once for a turkey. All the moisture and grease went straight into the area between the glass. I tried the self-clean (both kinds) and water from the self-clean went between the glass as well. There was obviously a seal issue. I called LG and they said no - its cosmetic (didnt seem to make a difference it happened from cooking once). I kept going from service rep to service rep and speaking to people until they sent out a service technician. I asked him can you please fix the seal issue? I told him I didnt care if he fixed it or replaced the door, either way that would have been fine. He said no I am going to order you a new door, it should take 6 weeks. I asked do I need to do anything? He said no. I called to check on the status of my new door and they said OH...LG declined to send it... Not one person from LG or the repair place called me to tell me that, not a word from anyone, the repair place passed the buck and said they were supposed to let you know.So I called, spent more time on the phone trying to explain they need to either fix the seal as every bit of moisture gets in there or replace the door. They didnt care. They said its just cosmetic, your oven still works. I asked them so what you are saying is that all your ovens have this issue, mine is not an exception, and you stand behind the fact that even a brand-new oven is going to look like hell? No answer. I asked about the implied warranty of merchantability and she checked with Legal and said no, they dont have to do anything because its considered cosmetic. She then went on to say it says in the manual not to put a lot of water directly on the oven... I proceeded to tell her I did not, I only followed the self-clean instructions to the letter and the repairman could see that there is a gap and all moisture is getting in. Did not matter and furthermore did not have ONE word, not even an apology for not contacting me to let me know that they had denied the request. No one at LG calls back and follows up and they just keep saying this is cosmetic and they dont care because people keep buying the product. When I brought it up to them that their customer service was not good and they needed to at least speak to their customers and let them know instead of just letting them wait - no response. It is also my opinion the repair companies they send are just as bad since they basically lied to me--that repairman looked me straight in the eye and said your new door should be here in about 6 weeks. I am warning anyone who is shopping for an oven - do not get an LG - unless you dont care if it looks like hell even the very first or second time you use it. Now I am going to have to research and find a repair person to see if I can have the problem fixed on my dime when this was 100% not my fault and LGs defective product. In summary, on top of the fact there is a seal issue within the glass, the customer service is the worst I have seen of any business I have dealt with. The fact that they say its cosmetic even though its a brand new oven shows that once they have sold the item, they do not care if that item looks bad through no fault of the customer. I can understand if the oven gets scratched or has some sort of cosmetic issue over time, but for this to be an issue right out of the box and for them not even to attempt to fix it (not necessarily replace but fix) is truly beyond the worst customer service there can be. I have never written a consumer report before but I am so mad and do not want anyone else to have this happen to them. I will never buy LG again (or for that matter, Samsung as they are all part of the same company) and recommend when purchasing an appliance of any sort - go with another brand do not buy LG unless you are willing to pay for problems even if they are not your fault.

ALL of my previous fridges (Amanda, Frigidaire, Kitchen Aid) lasted over 10 years without issue when I left them for the next homeowner. The one homeowner says Frigidaire is still running without issue and its over 17 years. Anyway, I called LG customer service and we ran the SMART Diagnosis process but the rep said it didnt reveal any errors; I guess it isnt so smart after all. We did get the unit to display a error code 22, which according to the LG website, indicates a compressor relay failure. Its a small, easily accessible, inexpensive part ($12 for similar parts on Amazon) but LG customer service refused to provide me with a parts list and service manual and said that only LG certified techs can repair it. Since the remaining LG warranty only covers parts, Im guessing at least $200-$350 labor costs based on posts for similar repairs. So, after 3 days of waiting on the LG recommended techs to make an appointment, I contacted a repairman recommended by 2-10 Home Warranty. They came next day and replaced the relay but it still isnt working; so much for the reliability of the error codes. He said a fuse on the control board blew and since the fuse is soldered in, the whole board needs replaced. (PS I have the fridge on a surge protector). I asked him candidly if this was an ongoing problem, his response was he does several per month but unfortunately cant keep the boards in stock so its at least another week to get the replacement part. So after two weeks, Im still living out of coolers and my daughters dorm room fridge.Luckily we had the 2-10 Home Warranty that came with the purchase of our home. Otherwise, the cost would be significantly higher. So Im looking at a $100 deductible, plus cost of food spoilage, plus cost of ice for coolers. In addition to the cost, its a huge inconvenience to constantly manage the issue (phone calls, service appointments, waiting on parts, swapping ice, etc) all this to fix a supposed top of the line fridge. Its not right to have a durable goods product fail after 4 years, and based on my experience with customer service, and based on parts availability, and based on responsiveness of the LG techs, and based the blogs, I wont buy any LG product no matter what it is. The internet mentions a class action suit brewing, I will surely sign on when I get the right contact.
