DLEX3470W - Steam Fresh stopped working. Called LG - this unit less than two years old. They say no warranty. Called repair service tech. Showed me voltage going from ecb to heater when power switch on, dryer turned off, and panel breaker on, to steam heater and steam heater burnt open. So ecb and heater bad. Major safety issue. Unit off and power going to heater from ecb when off - fire hazard. Cost of repair $461.57. Dryer cost $900.00 hum. Dryer is unsafe. Also serviceman trying to get part price while here got no help from LG. There are no safety circuits to protect unit from failures like I had. Board fails, burns out more devices. Cost of ownership in a little over a year $1500.00, plus not a good value.

Like so many other comments on here, our oven enamel is coming off of our 2014 LG gas range. As with other comments, LG dismisses it as a cosmetic issue. Our oven is convection and we are also worried about ingesting particles of porcelain enamel. I am from Calgary, AB and am trying to find out whether any Canadian consumers are trying to put together a class action lawsuit against LG for the above issues. Lets do something because this is not right!!

We purchased the French for LG refrigerator 2-3 years ago and it stopped cooling yesterday. We called LG support. The lady was nice, telling us to try this and that, but nothing worked. She then gave me a phone number to call for local service, with all cost paid by the customer. It is not good for such a giant piece of appliance to work for just 2-3 years. I called the local service anyhow. The stop by per se is $100, and the estimated repair cost (compressor issue-- it is cold when plugged in) is $650. Looks like this is a very common issue with this LG machine. Can LG do anything about it?

Actually my rating is a zero. LG front loader washing machine that we have is not only a complete waste of money but a health hazard. Why the health department isnt involved in this matter is truly shocking to me. Both my Fiancee and myself have experienced general malaise (headaches, body aches, nausea, dizziness) which we now believe is due to the mold build up in this machine and thus ending up in our clothes despite double washing the clothes to get the smell out.The constant nightmare in dealing with mold buildup in the machine has truly been astounding. We have tried everything from leveling the machine since water never gets fully drained, to scrubbing the front flap , to draining water and cleaning reservoir and bleach cycle--nothing works. This is the first and last LG product we ever buy. They put this thing on the market knowing full well of the problems with it. Personally, I am looking around to see if theres a class action lawsuit. In the meantime, we are going old school and buying a cheap top loader. Weve used top loaders for 30 years and never had a problems with them. Even our kids agree that this machine is crap.

I bought an LG microwave and 1 year later the handle broke. They came out and replaced it. Then 6 months later, the glass fell. They came out and fixed it. Then the 2 months the heating gauge didnt work. Someone came out again. Why is it that this expensive microwave keeps having issues and the warranty is only for 1 year! After all repairs, I still have problems with the plastic inter parts breaking. Whats with LG product?

Periodically, about once a month or two, the machine will dump a load of slimy black crap on our clothes at the end of a wash cycle. We leave the door open, clean the filter fairly often, and drain the tube. No warning - it just happens. Use HE detergent sparingly and Warm/Cold or mostly Cold/Cold setting. Has done this since day one. We do clean the seal around the door as well. Not sure why this stuff burps out once in a while, but more than just annoying. Anyone else have this problem? Thanks.

Beautiful on the outside. To save water it only wets clothes so they do not get clean. Have to wash everything twice and use perfumed Unstoppables. It cannot handle bulky items like sofa covers, or rugs as once they are wet they become too heavy for the load sensor so machine stops. I hate it.

I am completely shocked at the lack of accountability LG is demonstrating in our failed refrigerator compressor. We bought this refrigerator from Home Depot three years ago and the compressor failed in June of this year. When I called LG (who documents that they warranty their compressors for 10 years!), they directed me to their rip-off extended warranty department who charged me $450.00 for an extended warranty. After the service person came out and let them know it was the compressor, they said the parts are unavailable and they canceled my warranty without my permission, refunding my credit card MINUS $100.00 for the service person who diagnosed the problem! The contract of the warranty states they cannot cancel my warranty unless they give me 30 days notice in writing. After all of this happened I did some research online and it appears that our refrigerator is a lemon and LG is taking no responsibility for selling thousands of crappy appliances. We have spent hours on hold and hours talking to customer service people at LG who have no authority to do anything to help us. I am so disillusioned with this company and will stick to GE for any future appliance purchases. Hopefully this review will save someone else the frustration of dealing with LG.

Ive had the LG fridge for 7 years since new. After 2 years we had to have a technician come out as the fridge section froze all the food. He couldnt get the part for over a week so he unscrewed the back from the inside of the freezer and poured 5 boiled kettles worth of water down the vents. That was to tie me over till the part arrived but it lasted 5 more years. It is doing it again, so for now I will buy a new fridge and use the LG as one hell of a big freezer.

I love the side by side with the see thru door for drinks. Just knock 2xs on the window and it lights up so you can see in the door before opening to get a drink. It has sensors so if you dont close the doors completely they go off. Ice maker inside freezer, didnt want water on the door, last one leaked and never could fix it. Once and roomy and nice shelves and easy to clean, plenty of freezer space. Nice veg bins and meat bin. Stainless, love it.

This review of LG washers is more a review of LG customer service and a war
This review of LG washers is more a review of LG customer service and a warning to prospective customers. I have owned my LG washer for about three years now. It has True Balance, a feature that consumes water in an attempt to balance the load. The washer is absolutely level. However it rarely completes a load because True Balance is unable to get the load balanced enough to get through the spin cycle. So I have to turn the water off. Balance it by hand. Then maybe it will get through the cycle. Often the items are too soaked to put in the 30-year old Kenmore dryer. So I have to hang them.My water bill has increased 25% since getting the washer. Have complained to LG. Initially they told me to level the washer. Now they just ignore me. Apparently because I (a person who has tested at a mechanical level in the upper 2% of the population) am unable to level a washer. I was however able to rebuild the Kenmore Dryer twice to keep that running. Thats not a recommendation of Kenmore because Kenmore isnt Kenmore anymore.

Updated on 01/08/2019: After two failures and unsuccessful repairs, Asurion sent another repair company over. The repairman walked into the house and said I know what the problem is already as he heard the compressor groaning in the kitchen. After conferring with his boss over the phone, I was informed that they no longer will do repairs on LG products because LG does not pay their invoice. So not only does Home Depot continue to sell this junk, but the repair shops that would handle the extended warranty repairs will not work on LG. A couple of weeks later, Asurion (out of the blue) called and said that a reimbursement check was being sent. Could that be due to the class action lawsuit recently filed nationwide against LG?? So we got the check, disposed of the LG, and bought a KitchenAid that sits quietly in the kitchen, keeping things cool and keeping us composed. OH, and never a word from LG through any of this business.Original Review: Two Compressors in Two Months...LG is junk: We purchased this LG from Home Depot in December of 2016. It had great features, was very attractive, and large capacity. In November, 2017 we returned home to find the kitchen flooded and the fridge was warm. We called the Home Depot warranty company and a repairman came out two days later. They didnt have local repairmen so he came from 60 miles away btw. He said it was the compressor and he said he replaces LG compressors on a regular basis. Ultimately it took him 3 weeks to obtain one due to LG being out of stock on compressors. He installed it and the warranty company gave us a food reimbursement check. Two days later, the same thing happened! Spoiled food. Flood. Repairman showed up again and repeated the slow ordering process. Home Depot sent over a small dorm fridge just in time for Thanksgiving. Now the compressor is again making noises. LG is totally unresponsive to this; they would rather the repairmen make the repairs for them, that they are too cheap to do upon manufacture.

I think that this level of ingenuity is an excellent selling point on lgs behalf.

When looking for a new stove the salespeople at Lowes raved about LG. We looked for reviews and they were all positive. I bought this stove in September 2017. It has multiple times turned the gas on with no flame. The knob must have been bumped. The last time the gas had run so long that we had to open windows and doors for hours in the winter to get rid of the smell. Im afraid that my family is going to die from carbon monoxide poisoning! How can this not be recalled by the government must less LG themselves. Are they waiting for someone to die in a fire or from poisoning??? A LG repair person came and replaced the metal pieces the knobs are on. While he was doing that the gas turned on!!!. It still seems like the knobs turn VERY easily! Will never buy LG again!!

Bought LG washer and dryer just over 6 years ago. Had no problems till today when the dryer started to thump. I am a retired millwright-machinist and have repaired washers and dryers as part of my job for years in a large hospital. I took the dryer apart to discover the drum was cracked on the welded seam. My extended warranty ran out in March. Called the Warranty Department at LG and was told they never heard of such a thing and could not help me (I did tell them that there were hundreds of similar complaints on the internet). Called the local service company and was told a service call would be about $300 plus parts. They couldnt understand I already had it apart.I called another company and was told that I could buy a new drum for $133.58 but the drum was back east and it would take several weeks to have it shipped here, so I will weld the drum for now and order it at a later date. Not happy. The washer has performed O.K. but has a funky smell if you keep the door shut. We wash and dry about 4 loads per week so its not abused. Will not buy another LG.

This dishwasher is so simple to use. The shelf racks fold down for big items. There are only 6 buttons to push. And one of them is the power button So youre not going to get confused with what to push. It is a very quiet cleaning process. The one thing I dont like is it runs from 1hour 30 min to 2 hours 15 min. Sometimes I just want a fast cycle for a few thing I instantly need. But I am getting used to starting the dishwasher before I go to work and at bedtime.

I initially chose the LG refrigerator because of the style. It matched my kitchen appliances already in the house. I also picked it because it was spacious and affordable. The LG refrigerator that I previously owned was spacious. It was also nice stainless steel design. It had a good ice maker that also gave you good cold water. I didnt like the fact that this refrigerator didnt last as long as I thought it would. It broke and would no longer keep my food cold. It was disappointing that my nice fridge broke and I had to purchase a new one.

The fridge was purchased new in February 2017. The linear compressor failed in April 2019, and various other parts have failed since then. Every part (linear compressor, refrigerant valve, freezer evaporator) except the fridge compartment evaporator has been replaced, and it still doesnt work after 7 tech visits. Technicians do not bring parts--they must be ordered and shipped every time--adding more time without a working fridge. Though we have not paid for these tech visits, we have lost money on spoiled food and from missing work to meet the repair folks. In addition, we purchased a different brand of refrigerator after the LG failed for the second time. The purpose of the warranty is to repair the product and satisfy the customer, and neither of those has happened. We want our full purchase price back along with reimbursement for wasted food. Unfortunately, a leading consumer magazine still recommends LG refrigerators. My family does not recommend them.

Do NOT buy a LG fridge nor use Southland Technical for after service. LG has their own service techs but they are not qualified to do compressor work. So they contract out. Last hot summer, I was given the run around by LG for over 2 weeks to get someone to come see my broken down $3,000 fridge. They keep telling me how busy they are and finally they gave me Southland’s phone number to call. Southland came out, and $1,000+ later, I get my new compressor. Almost exactly 105 days later, the compressor broke down again!!! The service guy who came out in January told me this is the SECOND incident in last 2 days he has seen!!! It took almost 2 months for Southland to get back to me to confirm indeed the compressor had broken down again and due to some BS story, the fridge can no longer be fixed and they will have LG call me. 2 weeks on, LG called to tell me I am SOL because LG did not initiate the call to Southland and therefore LG is not responsible. LG offered me a $100 credit for my next LG fridge, REALLY!! I am suspicious it was a collision between Southland and LG to get me to buy a new fridge. Really Southland, you took $1,000 of my money, replaced the compressor. (Assume they did or perhaps an after-market no name???) And to tell me 105 days is outside the 90 day warranty period. Hands up out there if anyone knows a compressor to last only 105 days. (Yes, days, not months!!) Needless to say, never use Southland and never buy any LG products... Look around, less and less dealers are selling LG, only Costco because they do not have a service department so LG is a convenient partner for a lousy brand!!

I purchased an LG refrigerator (Model LFX31925ST) on Nov. 25, 2011. On Feb. 10, 2012 (less than 3 months later), the refrigerator stopped working. I called LG for repair and they sent a repairman 5 days later who told me it was broke (no **) and he would have to order parts. They were ordered 5 days later. 2 days later, I called the repair service, Expert Appliance Repair and they said one of the parts was backordered with no ETA. They suggested I call LG again to see if I could get an ETA or a replacement. I did this, and after a lot of stonewalling, I was told I was out of luck that I would have to wait on parts and that there was no ETA. I now have a refrigerator that broke down after a couple of months and have currently gone 12 days with no refrigerator. Never mind the cost of lost food/frustration. LG is the worst company I have ever dealt with.

I purchased the LG DLE2050W Dryer along with the matching washer 2.5 yrs ago. We have replaced a sensor, a fuse and when the dryer quit drying a week ago, I thought here we go again, ordered another fuse and guess what, that didnt work this time. I have had a couple of dryers over the 32 yrs of our marriage, and never had to replace more than a heating coil even with 2 boys growing up here. It is just my husband and I now, 2-3 loads a week and dealing with this is ridiculous. You have to take the drum out to get to the most minute parts and what a pain that is. So, this dryer will be stuck in the corner of the basement and tomorrow, I am getting a new Whirlpool and feel confident I wont be dealing with these issues again.

Updated on 10/22/2019: My three year old LG refrigerator quit making ice, freezer and fridge broken! Compressor and other parts bad, lost hundreds of dollars worth of food. After several weeks, and repairman just deciding to not show up, repair was made and LG paid for all of it, as they should have. Here we are six weeks after repair and freezer no longer making ice and items in freezer thawing. I had asked the repairman if his repair was going to work since I have little faith in anything LG and he told me “probably not because they send the same defective parts.” Well, he was right! I sent a message to LG and I am being ignored. The last repair would have cost me $1600 for a THREE YEAR OLD REFRIGERATOR! Now, apparently, they don’t want to stand by the “repair.” I will NEVER buy another LG product. Original Review: My refrigerator is three years old and it wont make ice, freezer and fridge compartment dont work! I have seen all the complaints about this product and will NEVER again by an LG appliance! I have had other brands for years and have not had a problem. A HORRIBLE product, you have been warned!

After reading so many one star reviews, Im now concerned this dishwasher may break at any moment. Ive had no issues and have used it almost daily for about one and one-half years. I guess Im fortunate because this was given to me by a family member who was moving into a new home and remodeling the kitchen with all new appliances (installed it myself). LG inverter direct drive. Ive always used Finish cubes.

Wish I never bought this dishwasher. I had it fixed when it was less than a year old, replaced a plastic wheel that used to be made of metal. It made a loud screeching noise. Makes noises off and on that are LOUD. You never know when this will happen. Soap door doesnt always open. Top rack started rusting out in the second year. Was told too bad so sad, not covered, ever. When I called for service, cant remember which problem it was, there are more, was told they wouldnt come out because they were having a problem getting paid from LG. Great! Call back in a month or so, well see if they are paying their repair bills! Ok! Called LG for another extended warranty, they said no. Its up to them, and because Id already called, I guess they knew they would have to pay out on it, so they wouldnt extend it. Now I also bought the double 30 oven, and I love it!!! NO problems, its been just over two years now.

This has been by far the worst customer service I ever experienced. Our LG refrigerator just stopped running. We only had it for about 7 months. We contacted them and they have strung us along for over 2 months now. No one has repaired it and they have not replaced the unit. We keep getting told we will get a call in 3-5 business days each time we contact them. They never get back to us. We still dont have a refrigerator and this is still under a warranty. Its horrible living without a refrigerator for this long. We had so much food go bad when the thing stopped working. Its already been a huge expense. LG has made this so difficult for us and we still are not getting the customer service we deserve and still have a broken fridge all under WARRANTY that they do not stand by. I will never purchase an LG anything ever again in my life. Worst service ever.

We bought an LG refrigerator in March of 2017. Its a door in door. The problem we are having is with the doors. The door in door isnt closing and sealing properly. Weve had 5 service repair guys out that we couldnt really speak English and they continue to tell us the door is closing properly which it isnt. When we open and close the other door it ends up pushing the other door open and then that door doesnt close by itself. LG wont give you the time of day. All we would really like is for them to replace this unit and move on. But they dont want any part of it. You spend $2500 to $3000 on a unit you expect to work properly and they could really care less. I would not recommend LG products to anyone.

My girlfriend redid her kitchen 2 years ago. She bought LG fridge and LG gas stove last year. We smelt gas after turning off the stove top then notice it was still on. The plastic on the back side of the knob had cracked so it wouldnt turn the gas all the way off even though it showed it should be off. She called customer service and made her pay for a brand new knob. The stove at the time was just over a year old. Now another knob is cracked so she will have to buy another knob. They are not cheap and this is a major safety hazard esp. if you have kids and youre not home. There should be a recall on these knobs and shouldnt cost the consumer to fix the defect in the manufacturing problem!!!!

I bought the machine two months ago and noticed my white clothing was coming out gray. I changed the soap and the settings (chose hot and heavily soiled), and it’s the same thing. I opened the machine during the wash cycle, and the water was consistently cold while the water in the sink by the machine is very hot. The technician from the store where I purchased the machine came out and found it working correctly; however, he also agreed that the water would not get hot. I called LG and discovered that the CW in the model number stands for cold water. In other words, this machine is designed to use lukewarm or cold water. That’s strange! I thought hot water was helpful in the washing process. I am now doing battle to exchange this ridiculously designed machine for one that will actually clean my clothing, and I wont give up until I have a replacement. No one in the appliance store understood what CW meant. They thought the W was for white in color. Good grief! By the way, the dryer isnt wonderful either.

Technician returned, could not fix but broke full panel of glass in the fridge. So now drawer does not close properly and there is no shelf. Apparently parts were ordered. Called LG to discuss replacing unit, got escalated to an idiot name Garret who was useless and would not give his managers name. Apparently his name is Kuzi. He does not have a last name or a phone number - its all confidential - not really sure what LG is paying him for if he is the escalation they have for customers. Worst I have ever dealt with. I have only compliments and no issues whatsoever with 2 sets of LG washers & dryers purchased new at Frys. This review concerns the quality of the washers & dryers themselves, as I have not had to deal with customer services at all, having no repair or return. Had I read the numerous horror stories on this website I would probably think twice about LG appliances. However, I have absolutely no problems with my LG washers/Dryers. The first pair, purchased in March 2011 were front-load 4CF washer model WM2101HW, and WM2101HW, electric dryer. This set still works perfectly at my exs place. The second set, purchased 11/2014, were top-load 4.7CF washer model WT5070CV, and DLE1101W electric dryer. This brand new set works great - the washer has a huge capacity with a short, stubby agitator at the bottom. However, I miss my old LG front-load washers advantages: it uses less water yet cleans clothes slightly better, it is much gentler on clothes hence producing little lint if any, and it washes bulky loads such as pillows better because, having no agitator, it just tumbles the load over and over. So far so good, knock on wood.

LRE3083ST - After a year and 4 days of limited use there is enamel flaking off inside the stove. There appears to be rust underneath this area and this is a manufacturers defect. The range is not usable as food is not safe to eat any food. Flakes are airborne during cooking this range. The safety issues with this range are of great concern and the lack of response and support from LG on their product, which obviously has a manufacturers defect, is alarming. LG says this is cosmetic and I would never buy another one of their products. This was a waste of $799 dollars.

I have never experienced a more frustrating customer experience. Our problem started last summer when our $4,000 LG French Door refrigerator failed, and would not maintain temperature. Our refrigerator was a little more than four years old, and I called LG to arrange a warranty repair. I was told that I would be charged $129 for the service call by one agent, and two other agents told me that there was no charge. However, it was going to be SIX WEEKS before they could get a technician out. We had no other options, so we scheduled the repair. Based on troubleshooting, it was the well-known compressor issue.I dont remember all the details, but I somehow figured out that the call six weeks later was a DIAGNOSTIC call, and that the tech would have to look at our unit, order parts, and that those parts were on backorder, so it might be another month before we could get them scheduled for the repair. I fought like hell, but got them to preorder the parts and have them shipped to the tech before he came. Even then, there was some problem with getting the parts, and LG had to overnight them. The linear compressor was indeed the problem, and it was replaced.Within a month or so, the refrigerator started making a loud KNOCK or POP noise that sounds like a gunshot about every 20-30 minutes. Its loud enough that it wakes me up at night because our bedroom is next to the kitchen. I dreaded dealing with LG, but eventually called and told them this was unacceptable. I finally got hold of someone who would send the tech out again. On April 13th of 2020, the same tech who had installed the compressor came to check out the unit. He heard the noise and told me that according to LGs product manual, this is a normal noise. I can assure you it is NOT. Our refrigerator was quiet for the first four years we had it, then all of a sudden started making this horrible noise AFTER the compressor is replaced? He asked if I had the manual, and said I should read it... that LG claims that refrigerators can make noises. Not a GUNSHOT noise!I got a followup call from LG a week or so later from an actual person to see if the service call addressed my issue. I told them it did not, and that I was upset and angry and frustrated. The woman told me that she would have a member of LG management contact me about our issue. That call never happened, and I never heard from LG.I finally called LG again about a week ago, at the end of June 2020. I worked my way up the chain to someone in Executive Customer Relations, who was very nice. She arranged for a second opinion and a tech to come to our house. There was no mention of any cost, because it should be within the 90-day followup period to the last service call that did not address the problem. I got a text message that said Star Tech Appliance Services has accepted my service request, then I got a message on July 5th (yesterday) that said A technician will arrive on 07/07/20 between All Day to service your product. But this evening at 5:15 pm, the day before the appointment, I get a call from the technician asking for a $160 payment, but telling me that the repair may cost between $350 and $400!I tried using the chat function, but I have now been on hold with LG customer service phone support for 55 minutes and have yet to talk with an agent. I rescheduled the appointment to Friday, July 10th while I sort this out with LG, but I am exhausted by this problem. I have spent hours and hours and hours on the phone with LG, and Im tired of it.Stay away from LG refrigerators unless you like dealing with customer service that has its hands tied when it comes to actually fixing your refrigerator. The agents are truly nice, but LG has some major customer service issues. I read on an LG class action lawsuit page that refrigerators usually last on average about 13 years. LG refrigerators are failing around 3 years. I guess we got lucky that ours lasted 4. Thats not too bad, right? $1000 a year? It was a beautiful unit. We bought a very beautiful refrigerator. Too bad it hasnt performed. I just got off the phone with LG after an hour wait on hold. Ends up that executive customer service was closed for the day, and I have to call back tomorrow. Yay.

I bought an LG Refrigerator in 5/2011. Three months out of warranty and I spent $533.00 today to fix 3 parts. Now fridges are supposed to last 10-12 years. There’s only one person in the house so it is not abused. I called and of course outsourcing. I spoke to the executive complaint department. If I didnt have the repairman fixing it, they would consider possibly helping out. Since my repairman was repairing the flawed parts, and the refrigerator was warm, how much longer should I wait for their technician to come out? Someone needs to start a class action lawsuit against LG since so many people have complaints about their product. The parts are cheap, they break. This wasnt a couple of dollars to just throw away but with the repair cost, should I have bought another refrigerator? What is going to go next?

We purchased an LG side-by-side refrigerator in 2011. The model was on sale. I wish I had seen the negative reviews here before purchasing! The ice maker often sticks (the water position). In the cube position we most often get crushed ice and few cubes. I find access to the on/off switch for the ice maker very inconvenient; a drawer - on which we keep ice cream containers - must be removed to reach the switch.. an awkward arrangement. And if we remove the ice drawer, getting the metal rod that protrudes from the back into the correct place can be difficult. Our experience hasnt been nearly as bad as many listed here, but I definitely would not recommend the LG to anyone.

Bought a brand new stacking washer/ dryer set in March of 2018. Loved the features and functions, and it ran smooth and quiet. By January 2019, the door hinge had seized, and we noticed dried soapy residue under the left side of the machine. Had to argue with LG to replace hinge under warranty, and they tried to charge me to un-stack the unit. The tech said that we should be more careful loading soap into the tray, and that dripping soap gets on the hinges and eats the metal. Seems like a pretty big problem for a washing machine where the dispenser tray is right above the door hinge.By April, the latch had also failed, but was out of warranty. Fortunately I had purchased an extended warranty. They also tried to hit me for $150 to un-stack the unit. Now here we are in June 2019, with a seized hinge again! Door wont fully open or close, and now the door leaks when a cycle is run. However, the unit is also leaking from inside the soap apparatus somewhere inside the machine. The entire leg, face plate, and the inside of the machine is rusting below the soap tray. This probably caused the first hinge issue.Warranty company says it is a pre-existing condition and will not cover corrosion and rust related issues as that should be by the manufacturer. LG says its not their problem, and only offer a 90 day warranty on first hinge replacement, which is expired. I am now on the hook for the entire repair, which is yet to be determined (since I have to pay for someone to even come out and tell me what is wrong). Not even a year into it, and this thing is a piece of garbage. With the two units, tax, delivery, installation, extended warranty, new floor pan, etc., I spent $2000.00 on this set, and all of that is completely worthless when you have a problem with it.

Ive read plenty of horror stories about LGs microwaves on this website, to include how bad the customer service is. I purchased my LG LMV1683ST /00 over-the-range microwave in 2014 (product was manufactured June 2013). Since then, we have had the control board (LEDs burnt out) and the turntable motor (really bad squeal) replaced (in the first year!), and I just had the control board replaced again, today (when you close the door the internal light turns on, and turntable spins, even though I didnt command them to). I was able to get the warranty work done by contacting Lowes (where it was purchased), and they sent out repairmen in a timely manner. For the latest repair, I had to contact LG directly. After reading reviews of other peoples experiences dealing with customer service, I decided not to deal with them, and instead, requested to be immediately transferred to a supervisor. I explained (in a calm, not demanding manner) how this unit has already had 2 repairs, and now needs another one. He understood my concerns, and setup an appointment for a repairman to come out, at no charge. I stated that I thought the issue was the control board again. The repairman came today (LG repairman), was very personable, and had a new control board in hand. Microwave was repaired in 10 minutes, and were back up and running. In summary, the customer service experience was good (because I spoke directly with a supervisor), but the quality of the product is substandard. Lets see how long it takes for something else to fail.

They moved my delivery date (understandable) and any consumer can understand these types of issues. But now I just got an automated message telling me that they are now moving it again. When you finally get through to an operator, they tell you all sorts of different answers (depending on the operator): (1) They are having computer problems and cannot communicate with their headquarters?!; (2) they had a system and computer failure; and (3) bad weather. I am without a washer/dryer because I moved into a new house and cannot get the family clothes washed. They also cannot confirm the next delivery date and if they cant deliver, theyll simply call again. Are you kidding me?! I needed a platform to express my utter frustration with your company. I bought this LG fridge 3 1/2 yrs ago.. Apparently during my absence this summer, my compressor died and you can imagine how badly my fridge with its closed doors smelled after 4 months away. When I called LG, you knew about the compressors failure in this model, (which all owners should have been made aware of). Had it fixed, although the odor continues, even after using every available product. The problem that started after the repair was the NOISE, which is worse than the smell. Had it serviced again, but still the noise continued. Major issue is that the noise is not consistent. It comes and goes and therefore not always heard when repairs are being made. Called LG again and Travis from LG came to repair. He fiddled with the fridge for a few minutes and said it was fixed. Called him 10 minutes later and said the fridge was really noisy now and could he return so he could hear it and maybe even fix it correctly. He said he could not, but would return the next day. He never returned or called me. I have called customer service many, many times, even asking for a supervisor, (one actually hung up on me). Was finally told that the warranty doesnt cover noise. I explained that I never had the noise until you fixed the compressor, but that didnt seem to matter. You said that you would send another of your service people out for a 4th try, but I was done with this nonsense. Had no confidence in your ability to fix anything. My fridge was now a smelly, noisy lemon and I wanted a new fridge (which I said I would share in the cost). My fridge is in an open kitchen, living room and dining room that we cannot use when the fridge noise starts so we have to leave the room or blast the TV to drown out the fridge noise, which turned out to be a bad idea. Not a way to live. At times the fridge sounds like a subway rumbling into the station. This has become a quality of life issue and is no longer worth the aggravation. LGs Life is Good motto is a myth for us. Not only have we suffered for the last 3 weeks, we must now add insult to injury with the expense of buying a new refrigerator. You should all be ashamed of your customer service department and maybe try teaching your people some common sense. Received an email back from LG discussing my AIR CONDITIONER! Need I say anything else?

Now the chrome-colored wrap is peeling off to reveal a plastic knob...and the High-Medium-Low is on the wrap! The range has otherwise been fine, but cheap knobs will cause us to seek another range.

On September 7th, 2018, Home Depot Canada delivered an LG LFXC24726S refrigerator I had purchased on August 30th. I had researched refrigerators prior to going to Home Depot and relied on the salesman’s recommendation for either the LG or Samsung 3 door French style with external water and ice. Periodically during the first 9 months the defrost cycle seemed to run too long and things would be warm in both the refrigerator and freezer. On July 28th the unit stopped cooling completely. 4 hours later it started cooling again. Late afternoon on July 29th it stopped cooling again and I lost the contents of the refrigerator and the freezer that night. After repeated calls to LG on the morning of July 30th and having to send pictures of my invoice from Home Depot I was finally put through to the appliance repair service that handles their warranty repairs as a “priority”. The earliest anyone could come to look at it was 2 days later on August 1st. On July 31st the unit started cooling again. The technician could not determine what the problem was on August 1st so he decided to order a new main board. Cooling was intermittent after his visit and then the unit started freezing items in the refrigerator. On August 8th the part arrived and the repair service set up to replace the board on August 15th. The same technician did the repair and he was done in 20 minutes. The refrigerator worked fine for the 15th and the 16th but sometime in the early morning hours of August 17th it stopped cooling again completely and for the second time in less than a month I have lost hundreds of dollars of food. LG uses a repair service which does not work on the weekends and does not provide any emergency service. After more than an hour on the phone and on hold with LG’s Canadian customer service in Panama, I had to start over from scratch and send pictures of my purchase invoice AGAIN. Disgusting customer service and I am left with no refrigerator, garbage bags full of spoiled food and nothing more than an email sent to the same repair company with instructions for me to call them on Monday and book a service appointment. LG is aware of the issues with their sealed systems and linear inverters and there currently is a class-action lawsuit on behalf of consumers. How disappointing that they have not done anything to correct the problems and consumers are left with a useless piece of junk in their kitchen. Also very disturbing that Consumers Reports continues to recommend these defective refrigerators. I have subscribed for years to Consumers Reports magazine and believed their testing results but no more. DON’T BUY LG!

We bought this LG fridge in 2015. By 2019, the compressor had to be replaced as we got the “FF” error. Apparently this means “Freezer Fan” but LG never replaced the fan. Now in 2021, I fought in vain for LG to pay for the freezer fan failure which happened again. They should have changed the fan in 2019 itself when the unit was under warranty. Having paid for the freezer fan mused and losing all my food, now the compressor has failed again. The executive department of LG - no one is even answering the phone. Voice of the customer/ office of the President is a joke. They don’t care about customer sentiment and bulldoze you. I complained to Texas Attorney General earlier in 2021 During the freezer fan fiasco. Then LG offered to pay $275 which I denied as it didn’t cover the cost of repairing the fan. Now the compressor from 2019 is broke again. No one to talk to at LG! Pathetic.

I bought a new LG Refrigerator in May 2018. Within a month, I started having issues with the refrigerator. It started making a very loud noise & had cooling issues. I called LG customer service, as it was under a manufacturers warranty. For last 2.5 months, LG could not even repair the refrigerator or provide a replacement. Highly unprofessional customer service, as the updated provided by them changes every week. Considering my experience, I will never buy LG products.

Sears said it would be an easy conversion from Natural Gas to Propane. Sears ordered the conversion kit and it arrived two days before the LG dryer. The problems began with the single half page instruction page. The details as to how to access the dryers internal parts dont match up with the dryer I ordered. When I explained this to LGs customer service rep he replied that its a generic dryer and we dont encourage homeowners to do the LP conversion no matter how competent they are as general contractors. Cant help you, but to ask you to take the dryer to Marina, CA to our nearest appliance rep. Why couldnt they just suggest it go there first before delivering it to my home?

Although my top loaded LG washer and dryer perform well, I am disappointed with the cheap black plastic cover over the control panels. I dont know how loading clothes can scratch this plastic but I continue to get more scratches. I realize this is petty but my washer and dryer are in an open area in the utility room which you walk through to get to the kitchen from the garage and the scratches are on display.

We had a kitchen remodel in November 2009, we purchased all LG appliances. My LG convection oven has been serviced 3 times for the same exact problem. Error: F-9, the thermostat will not heat the oven. Obviously there is a problem with the oven and it should be replaced. The model cost over $1800.00, and I thought that LG stood behind their product. The oven (wall unit) is just 2 years old. I also have an LG dishwasher, which was serviced because the motor went out the first year.

Im not too happy with my LG refrigerator after looking into a lot of information and a lot of reviews. Apparently, theres been a lot of problems with their compressors. And it doesnt seem like LG is proactive about going and fixing them because I finally had a problem with my compressor this year. The unit wasnt getting cold at all and we had noticed periodically where it felt like it wasnt cooling enough. We just chalked it up in the air whether it was too hot of a day or too cold of a day, and maybe we didnt have that, we had the house too hot and left it at that. And then, all of a sudden, within three days, it just stopped working.Trying to get LG to come out and fix the issue was like pulling teeth. Apparently though, LG was aware of what the issue was. They didnt give me any problems as far as getting it fixed. But there was a lot of miscommunication internally at LG because they gave me one company that they were gonna have fix the situation, and when I finally contacted them because I hadnt heard from them, they said, We dont work with LG anymore, and I had to call LG and tell them what the company said. So, we were gonna use this other company. It was the same thing. LG gave me the information for that company and I called them immediately. They said some of the same thing. Then finally, the third company was the one that still worked with LG. And then, that had taken almost two weeks to get my refrigerator fixed. At this point, it seems to be running properly. It seems to be making a little bit of noise. So, Im gonna contact the repair people and ask them to come check it out because it makes humming noise that it didnt make before.I have mentioned it to other people and as good friends of mine, they just bought the same refrigerator, and they experienced a similar problem to what we had. And we were told initially, Oh, its probably its seal, it didnt close right. But that was the way our problem started. And six months later, all of a sudden, the refrigerator went bad. But its a known problem with LG. My friends now are keeping a close eye on it.

Had an issue with the ice maker so I had LG tech replace it for $243.00 but ice maker still did not work properly so another LG tech came and proceeded to break the ice gear in the freezer compartment while trying to fix it. He order parts to repair but the parts were wrong and he then told me parts were not available to repair. Refrigerator is 7 years old and after talking to executive customer service, they said its out of warranty so they are not responsible for keeping parts. I sent two letters to the President of LG USA with no response. The company has no customer service and a very poor business attitude. President does not respond to customers letters and customer service is so arrogant. The entire place should close down like Circuit City. I am personally going to tell at least ten people about my poor experience and hopefully they will tell ten and within a few years, LG will be gone. Purchased the LG French Door refrigerator Model LFXS29626 on 3/21/16. So far, the freezer/icemaker seal has been replaced, the icemaker has been replaced and the motherboard has been replaced. The original issue was the door to the icemaker was leaking and every time you opened the left door, water would pour out of the door. OK, that is fixed early July 2016, then the circuits went bonkers and water started pouring out of the water dispenser... Thank goodness we were home or our home would have flooded. OK, thats fixed the end of July 2016. Then on 8/4/16 the original problem happens again... Water coming out of the door and the ice seal not sealing. I call LG for the 4th time and they are pretty much, sorry about your issues but no, we will not replace your unit... I call Home Depot and they are being kind enough to discuss replacing it. We bought an LG oven (model LRG4115) this summer (2018) and we can’t believe this oven is still on the market. It is so dangerous. We have brushed up numerous times against the knobs and the gas comes on automatically without us even knowing it. Luckily we have remained in the house afterward and smelled the gas so we were able to shut it off before something major happened. The knobs turn so easily and the gas comes on so quickly, unlike most other gas ranges that take several seconds before the fire lights up. We haven’t contacted LG yet but that is our next step. I want this oven out of my house before something horrible happens!

Purchased 02/2020. 1st failures occurred within 30 days. Icemaker and compressor replaced by LG tech. Worked fine until 11/21 when we found unit dead. Unplugged to check outlet. Outlet okay, plugged back in and heard a ZAP and smelled smoke. Contacted LG support and they assigned ticket and said a local company would repair. Contacted local company and they said they had refused the request from LG because LG doesnt pay them. Contacted LG again and they started a new repair ticket. I think they keep changing the ticket numbers so it appears they dont take too long to react. So far they have assigned a total of 10 repair tickets/customer service numbers. LG eventually sent an LG tech on 12/8. They had also shipped 3 different parts directly to me, but only 2 had arrived before tech showed up. He said the missing one was the needed control board and I should text him when it arrived. It arrived on 12/14 and I texted the tech. He said he no longer worked for LG and I would have to start over again. Still waiting on LG support to locate someone willing to perform the warranty repair. 3+weeks without a working refrigerator is ridiculous! I will never purchase any LG products in the future. They obviously dont care about their customers.

When washing sheets, at the end of the cycle one sheet is tight over the rest of clothes like a balloon and clothes underneath are so wrinkled I have to rewash to get them out. Areas of clothes are dry, HOW DOES THIS HAPPEN??? The clothes then dont get clean or even smell clean. 48 hours after buying this washer, I used it for the first time. Was so disgusted I called Home Depot about getting a refund. I was told I only had 24 hours to return it, to call LG. I was then told they had the same rules, 24 hours. This is **! I have the LG refrigerator model LFXC24726S that is identified with the common premature failure of the compressor resulting in no cooling. I inherited this refrigerator when I bought the house 2 years ago, so I had no purchase receipt. The compressor failed recently and I called LG. They said the parts are covered under 10 years from date of purchase and labor 5 years from date of purchase. Since I didnt have the purchase receipt they went by the manufacture date of Sept. 2015. The unit failed and I called on 11/12/20. Just two months over the 5 years from manufacture date. They charged $125 on the phone for service call and another $250 for labor it took to replace the part(which was covered under warranty) to get their fail refrigerator up and running. The frustrating aspect to me is the logic that after large consumer appliance product is manufactured it doesnt get to the end user the next week. How many times do I see even on dry food products that the manufacture date is already at least month ago before it hits the supermarket shelves. I get the sense for large consumer appliances it would be more than 2 months from manufacture before it is purchased by end user. I know this refrigerator was purchased after Jan. 2016 because thats when the prior owners of my house had bought the house and remodel the kitchen, but obviously that could not help sway my case to waive the labor fee. My wife and I love the refrigerator, especially how the ice maker is small and on the door and it doesnt take up an entire corner of top shelf corner and also retains some small shelves on the dispenser door unlike Samsung unit we had in our prior home where we lost top corner shelve space and lost the smaller shelves on the inside of the dispenser door. Unfortunately, we are not going to go with LG for our next refrigerator. It is just too unreliable and I have to pay a few hundred dollars out of pocket for their failed product. Not to mention it took 6 days before a technician can come out.

I purchased the LG washing machine WT1101C - top loading, glass top - in July 2013. I am very disappointed with this product. I have yet to wash a load that does not become unbalanced, and I have tried several different combinations of laundry items. The machine WILL rebalance the load - but it does this by jiggling and REfilling with water and spinning again. That process can be repeated as many times as necessary unless I intervene and redistribute the clothes myself. One day I left it alone to see what would happen and it washed for 2 hours! Energy Efficient?? No way - it uses too much water and takes too long even on the supposedly shortest cycles. Im going to donate it and get a brand I have had before and that has an agitator. Run away any LG products as your appliance. Horrible idea. Purchased this refrigerator (LG LSXS26326S) February 2016, not even two years old. The ice maker had gone out, no error code. THEN, the entire unit stopped being cold, again - no error code. Have lost everything in both compartments, and been advised from other techs, Good luck. Have called the wonderful customer service now 8 times, and keep getting bounced back and forth between Warranty and Customer Service.Ran the app for the LG fridge that does the sound to diagnose the issue, nothing is wrong with the fridge per the LG app. THEIR OWN PRODUCT IS BEING DIAGNOSED AS NO ISSUES BY THEM! (Yes, the door has to be open to use this app, but thats it). Was told that the unit is still under parts warranty... However by the time a service call will be had, someone out, we are fully expecting multiple calls and nothing to be resolved. Issue is the only LG authorized repair tech is 3-4 weeks out, for there are only TWO (2) in the entire state.Had another tech come out and was told the issue is the sealed system. Everything looks fine, no codes, just not working. This unit is garbage and was, still available with Lowes & Home Depot, for $1400. Dont waste your money on LG. Like every other consumer on this thread, avoid LG. Am now back on hold with customer service for was disconnected when they transferred me from Warranty to Customer Service. Never, ever again.

The features that I like most about the refrigerator is that it has a built in freezer, as well as an ice dispenser and water dispenser. I like to be able to have my fridge produce ice rather than going to buy ice or having to make it with a tray. The features that I dislike about the refrigerator is that after a while, the freezer component becomes very noisy when you open it. We have had our LG 2301HR Direct Drive Front Loading washer going on two years. First of all, when the washer starts its water loading process, the valves close so forcefully and quickly that the water pipes throughout the house clang, bang and shake. You can not only hear them but you can feel them. To make matters worse, the closing of the valves are frequent and many throughout a wash cycle. This is a major design flaw.Secondly, I am replacing today the cold water inlet tri-valve system due to a water leak that developed in one of the valves (most likely due to the water loading process). I believe this will fix the water leak but unfortunately it will not affect the rapid shutoff process that created it. Hence, the part is only 35 bucks but that is with me doing the work and finding the problem. Too soon to be having problems with repair or replacement and I feel this solution to be only palliative.Third, yes I, too, have the same problems with all clothing having a moldy, musky odor. This has been since day one. We have tried and are still trying ways mentioned by the other reviewers with little to no resolution. The clothes do not smell clean because of the mold problem and it is obvious some soil is remaining in the clothing. Overall, the initial price tag of the washer made it a big decision for our family. It, too, was a replacement for our older top loader that worked just fine.We were sold on the idea that it was much more energy efficient and would pay for itself in time with the energy and water savings. LG is making inferior washing machines at the cost of our ignorance or belief that we are buying a better product. They are deemed defective presented by the problematic facts as testified by the reviewers/owners. The health issue alone (mold and mildew) should be enough for the Federal Health Dept to intervene. What about the BBB (Better Business Bureau)? Someone getting paid off?! What happened to our rights as consumers? Our forefathers are turning over in their graves. My seasonal allergies have become year-round chronic and come to think of it...it has been for the last two years. Go figure.

This washer and dryer were rated about as well as any, so it was kind of a tossup what to get. You are supposed to use TUB CLEAN cycle monthly or more often (This on a front loader that is supposed to SAVE water) and after every time you use the machine you are supposed to wipe around the 2 gaskets that stay wet. If you dont, and even if you do this creates odors, sometimes even if youre careful to wipe all around. Wiping the gaskets down requires getting on the floor and going into the tight crevices with a rag all around. Also, you are supposed to frequently empty the drain at bottom and clean out the filter. This also requires sitting/crouching on floor and the first few times I had water all over the floor and under washer. Very impractical. So far it hasnt had repairs (2 years old) but is noisier over time and thumps around a lot on spin cycle. Poor design all around.

After 1 year, 5 months of light use, microwave broke. Could be the Magnetron, which has a 10 year warranty, but the service call to see if it is the Magnetron costs almost as much as the microwave and if it isnt the Magnetron, well? All microwaves that I have purchased in my life have lasted until I moved or gave them away. LG Microwave? PITIFUL!!!

We bought our LG refrigerator 12 years ago and it has been a source of aggravation ever since. It has had to be worked on numerous times. Leaks water from the ice maker and now makes crazy suction noise. We have our Whirlpool refrigerator in the garage, nearly 25 years old and has not had one problem. All I can saw is DON’T BUY LG or be prepared for lots of problems. I am afraid with this latest noise that it could catch fire! We will have to buy a new refrigerator soon because we can’t live with this constant aggravation, Even though we paid more for it than any refrigerator we have ever had!!!
