Refrigerator started making horrible noise on July 3, 2016. Model LMX25964 purchased Nov. 22, 2010. Woke up July 4 no ice and all freezer contents thawing out. Could not call for any help until Tuesday July 5, technician came out on July 7 to tell me my French doors refrigerator had a seal system problem was under warranty and he was not an LG-certified technician. By the way while checking out the refrigerator he did tell me the LG is one of the worst refrigerators, all plastic and lots of mechanical problems, that is why he would not become an authorized LG technician.Called LG, got someone I could not even understand, finally got a certified technician phone number called and he comes tomorrow, he will probably need to order parts so thats more to time. Customer service stinks as well as the refrigerator. I will never ever buy an LG item again. I did lose all my food, around 250.00 and the company acted like I was out of my mind for asking. The supervisor said our warranty ran out after 12 months. I advised her that the problem that caused my problem was under warranty and she flat out said, We do not reimburse. I hate them.

I bought an LG refrigerator from Sears in May 2015. In June 2019, my freezer stopped making ice. Long story short: an LG technician diagnosed the problem as a compressor/sealed system failure. LG agreed to a courtesy repair but after three visits the LG technician submitted a report to the company declaring the unit unrepairable. Since then, the company has delayed and deflected and made follow up and follow through extremely difficult. I cannot reach a service manager on the phone. I am not sure whether I will be compensated for my losses. I know there is a class-action lawsuit against LG on this very issue. I may well end up joining it. There is no reason why a four-year-old perfectly maintained refrigerator should fail after four years. It should be covered under the manufacturers warranty.

I purchased a whole house full of LG appliances in October of 2011 (Washer, Dryer, Dishwasher, Stove, Microwave/hood, and refrigerator). I have had many issues with the washer. The washer worked fine initially and gradually started having issues from unbalanced loads to not spinning enough and leaving the clothes soaked requiring extra spin cycles. I purchased this particular model for the load capacity. You would think it would be able to handle what it was made for. In August of 2013 LG sent out a recall for unbalanced load issue. An Authorized repair company came out and did the software update. Frankly the full of clothes and water with the lid locked from no power. They replaced the board (reluctantly) and we were operational until April of 2014 when the board blew again. Our first course of action was to call the authorized repair company back, but they would not talk to us over the phone and wanted to come out and charge us for a service call to service the machine as well as labor to replace the part, if in fact they felt they should warranty it. LG also no help at this point, the machine was out of warranty and not their problem. Since we knew what the problem was and were not fond of repair company anyway, we ordered the part ourselves online and put it in. This one lasted all the way to almost the end of September 2014, again blowing with the machine full of clothes. I have now purchased a new machine (not LG) and will be sending LG copies of all the paperwork, from original purchase all the way to current purchase. I doubt they will do anything for me, the machine is clearly a piece of junk sitting in my garage. Unfortunately, this is not the only one of their appliances I have had issues with. The microwave has had just about every part in it replaced in the span of a couple months, some of the parts multiple times. This was also a big hassle to get repaired. The LG tech fixed it the first 2 times and then it got pushed to yet another authorized repair company, for multiple visits changing out a part at a time. It would have been cheaper for them to just give me a new one. LG is now banned from my house. I will never purchase another one of their products, no matter what it is. I also recommend to everyone I know, to stay away from the Large Garbage. So far they have not stood by their products. I did not purchase an extended warranty, but I have never had issues like this with any appliance I have ever purchased and they have lasted well over 3 years. Not to mention these dealers want to charge at least 1/2 of the purchase price for these extended warranties, which is ridiculous.

My fridge stopped cooling three years after my purchase which is a little disappointing. I feel three years is not a long time. In addition all my food spoiled because of it! However every person I talked to was helpful, friendly, and compassionate. Still waiting on my food reimbursement & no one called me back to extended my warranty... Without a warranty this would have been more expensive so make sure you get the warranty.

I have had nothing but trouble with my LG fridge (model LFC2525765ST). Ive had the same problem over and over since purchasing it in 2011. Well sort of, it started off with a blown bulb in the fridge. Then...well. They come out, fix it, then something else. The temperature keeps dropping and I keep losing my food. LG will not replace the fridge and I keep losing food. Their $250.00 check does not replace all that I have lost or what I have to spend on take-out while they diagnose the same problem again and again and then have to wait for them to order new parts, then set up a new date to come in and fix it. What is my relief when this company comes in to (seemingly) rebuild my fridge? Shouldnt they have to replace it when they have to keep repairing a 3-year-old fridge? I have a warranty and believe me, Ive needed it practically every year Ive had it. Somebody please help me with this, Im tired of losing my food. Im tired of wondering if I will have something to eat when I open the fridge door. With this current incident, its been going on since the beginning of January 2015. And the problem still hasnt been resolved. They put in a new part and the repair charge (not to me) was $335.32. It started working then it stopped and that weekend, so called the company again but cancelled because it started working again. A repairman called me and said give it 24 to 48 hrs to regulate itself (this was a Monday, I called on that Friday before but cancelled on I believe that Sunday). Then it happened again on a Thursday (Thursday seems to be the day of breakdowns). I called for repair service on Friday and as usual, had to wait until Monday for service to be set up. They always end the call with,We are here for you 24/7, but how? Since they cant do anything on a weekend. And I was told they would put in an emergency call for me. I expected someone to come on Monday but no, they called to set up an appointment on Monday. So had to wait again. Who knows what the next part will cost that is coming in on 2/16/15. Oh yeah, this is the same problem from January. This is the third time Ive had to shop, but I buy a little at a time now because I lost all my food from the last two shopping trips thinking the problem had been resolved (silly me). I had already sent in a food loss form. Dont think Ill be reimbursed for the last two mistakes I made buying food. I asked for another food loss form but still waiting. And Im waiting to hear about the one I already turned in. Wow... Oh, by the way, the first time they delivered my fridge, they had to take it back and bring another one because it was defective. Should have taken a hint then. It was purchased from HHGregg BRANDYWINE PKWY 19803 on 11/08/2011.

I purchased a washer and dryer from Hahns appliance in Tulsa, Ok. Within weeks the washer had to be replaced with a new washer. The second lasted just under a year before it would not operate correctly. Water overflowed die to sensor going bad, will not wash just spins, terrible rust around bleach dispenser. Customer service literally laughs when you call to complain. They dont care and the only way to stop this is to not buy their products. Do not subject yourself to misery I have experienced. We bought this LG refrigerator Jan 21, 2012. It is the biggest waste of a thousand dollars we have ever spent. Last Labor Day it stopped cooling. Had to wait a week for a repairman. One took pity on me and told me over the phone to remove the back and dry out with a blow dryer. It worked. So now this Labor Day it wouldnt cool again. And guess what, had to wait another week. We decided not to melt the ice since we had a warranty. The repairman came, took the back off and fiddled around, said it was good and left. The fridge, still four hours later wont go below 40. We called the repairman. He said it is ok to put some food in. So we did, really fast. Now it is 50 degrees. Clearly we will be going back to coolers and five bags of ice a day again. We are so fed up. PLEASE dont buy LG. Not only does it not work well, but it dents if you look at it, and the little humidity control on the veggie bins snapped off the first three days. Just hate it. But it was the largest fridge that would fit through our small doors. So we had to buy it. PLEASE PLEASE dont make the same mistake. Now cancelling cats surgeries to buy another fridge soon. Sigh.. Anyone know a brand that works?

Bought a $2000.00 refrigerator in 2014, three repairmen came out to look at it and said it is a leak in the cabinet and cant be fixed. They said to call LG and tell them its a lemon. Its been almost 3 weeks and a lot of money for repairmen, loss of food, no fridge and still no satisfaction from LG. They keep pushing me around from one person to another. Even though these were authorized repairmen from them, they tell me to call someone else and I have to pay labor again. My repairmen said this happens a lot to LG fridges and LG knows it. This company is making inferior products, scamming consumers and making more money on repairs. If anyone has any ideas for my situation, please help me. LG never has called me once with so much as an apology. I want this FIXED! For any new consumers looking for an appliance...dont buy LG.

Bought LG dish washer Oct 2018. 6 months in, it would not power on. After a month, repair was completed... that night it flooded my kitchen. That was Five (5) months ago. Since then they made a repair for the leak (I waited 2 1/2 months for the 3 parts) but repair did not work. Once again the dishwasher flooded my kitchen. I have been without a dishwasher going on 5 months now. Have been unable to get a straight answer from LG. I understand appliances might have problems —what I don’t understand is LG’s absolutely horrible customer service. They are rude, don’t give you straight answers, say they are going to call back and don’t. One rep told me they don’t replace a unit just because it happens to be a lemon! Avoid, Avoid, Avoid! We purchased a LG French Door refrigerator/freezer 28 cu ft (Model LFXS2926W/01) in April 2016. In late May of 2018 both lower and upper linear compressors failed along with the evaporators along with complete loss of refrigerant. Service rep came by in early June to identify the problem. Two weeks later the parts were delivered and they are back for the three hour repair. Three weeks from day of failure to day of repair. The service rep tell me that this appears to be a consistent problem with most if not all LG French door units. So $660.00 (labor and service call costs) later I hope to have it resolved. They have already warned me (because I asked) that this compressor/evaporator replacement will work properly for the next 2-3 years, before a predicted failure will occur again on the same components. The ten year warranty covers the compressor and a seven year warranty covers the evaporator. I asked their opinion on why such a generous warranty program given the predicted failure rate. The statement was the product (refrigerators internal cooling components) is over engineered and it is probably cheaper in the long run to provide the warranty than it is to have to submit to a product recall or redesign of the failed parts. I have purchased my last LG product of any kind and I am sharing our experience with everyone I can.

Bought a LG washing machine in December of 2011. In October of 2014 it just died with no warning. It cost $336.31 to fix. I tried to get help from LG with the cost of the repair and they either hang up on you or keep you on hold so long that the call gets lost. Even when you give them the information they ask for, they are still unwilling to help you with the cost of fixing it. They really act like they do not care about the financial burden in the consumer. The main board had to be replaced after less than 3 years. We have purchased an LG dishwasher about 3 years ago and have nothing but issues with it. In the first year the main board had to be replaced because it had just stopped working after hearing a humming noise coming from the motor. Since then we can not use the normal cycle since an error E1 comes up. Also in that cycle it will continue to pump out the water even if it is empty. So we are using the power scrub cycle since we use it everyday sometimes twice a day. The problem we are dealing with now is that we have to fill it during the cycle because it just does not fill with enough water. You will know when it sounds like it is grinding up debris inside. After filling it runs quietly. If we dont fill it the dishes come out dirty. The weird thing is it will not show the error E1 at all. It will continue to run till the end. We bought this dishwasher on sale and thought we were getting a very good deal. Now we know why we only paid $400.00 for this. We will not buy another LG dishwasher in the future after our experience with it and reading the other complaints from others.

We bought a $4000 LG refrigerator from Home Depot 13 months ago. When we first received it, we noticed the plastic piece above the fruit/vegetable drawers was broken. A repairman said that he would order the part and return once it was received to install it. That never happened. I let it go since the refrigerator itself was functioning fine. Unfortunately, as soon as the 1 year warranty expired, so did the refrigerator and the freezer. They both stopped working. The LG repairman states that he needed to order a part and would return. He did so, but unfortunately the new part that was installed didnt fix the problem. A few hours later the refrigerator also developed a loud noise as well as a vibration. The repairman was supposed to come back this morning, but LG called 30 minutes ahead of time to say that the repairman called in sick and they dont have an alternate repairman (even though I live in middle of LA). A repairman is scheduled to come back tomorrow. Well see what happens. Were upset because we have had to be inconvenienced several times for a repair to a very expensive appliance that is relatively new. We have 3 kids and cannot survive without a refrigerator! Im never buying an LG product again.

Another pricey LG appliance with a failed compressor at 23 months. At least a month waiting for parts. Ice maker shut off, water valve leaked after the fridge was taken by the repairman and ruined our kitchen floor, and leaked through to basement ceiling and damaged that as well... We were gone for 3 days. Add to that the food that spoiled when the compressor went toes up, and we have learned a very, very expensive lesson about LG refrigerators, and from the comments here, we are not alone. Repairman indicated ours was the 26th compressor failure he has had this year.

I was so excited about getting the French door, two drawer model. I have two complaints. First one is the shelves. I have more tall bottles than the fridge accommodates, then there is a short space behind that I can set something in but you have to remove the tall bottles to get to it. The main complaint is the icemaker. The ice balls come out great, it makes 3 a day, however the crushed and cubed work for about a week then nothing for a week then suddenly its working again. We called customer service they referred us to the local technician who apparently hates his job. He would not even come out to look at the problem. He said he would order a new icemaker. At this time the fridge was only 3 weeks old. We had to keep calling him back to check on the new part. Then he never came out with the part until after the 3rd time he said he would come. Then he wouldnt speak to us. After about a month the icemaker quit for a week then started up again and so on. I ordered ice trays on Amazon. No way we will deal with that repairman again. And when he did come out we were really nice and friendly I even told him a few jokes and he totally ignored me. We bought it through Costco.

This is obviously a manufacturing defect. We called LG and they sent a certified LG appliance repair man to our home. We purchased a new dishwasher, refrigerator, stove and over the stove microwave oven in 2009 when we renovated our kitchen. We have since had the refrigerator repaired and replaced the dishwasher (with a Kenmore Elite) altogether because the door was leaking and ruined our hardwood floor. We fixed the microwave push button panel once and our stove has never functioned properly. The flames do not come out of the stove top in an even pattern. Now our push button panel on the microwave has quit working again (less than two months after it was replaced for malfunctioning before). These were all bought from Home Depot, brand new. I would not say anything bad about LG with a problem occurring in only one appliance in that period of time, but all four appliances having problems? I will never purchase LG again. Every load gives a UE code and keeps putting water in and trying to run through so this is not efficient at all. Its using more water than the old machines. The bleach holder is rusting out but cant be fixed because LG says thats cosmetic. I believe thats poor quality when so many people have this problem almost 2000 for washer and dryer and I would truly love to get my old machines back, ugly, mismatched, but worked much better and my clothes didnt stink.

The LG refrigerator we bought with the last apartment we rented. It was a great surprise however it did not last for very long after we moved. LG is a great product and typically very dependable. I liked having an ice machine. Filtered water options and lots of space. I did like the amount of storage space that it had and how it didnt ever freeze my refrigerated items. But I would like a better warranty. I dont like that it gave out on me so fast and that I could not fix the issue. I would improve the customer service that comes with this item.

Visiting technician (not his faults) says the linear compressor used in this LG refrigerator is noisy/louder than others -and suggest we install sound-dampening around the refrigerator. I regret purchasing this LG refrigerator - its louder than the GE we had before. Reminds me of my grandmothers noisy Kelvinator in 1959. Freezer frost is resolved by decreasing the amount of food we stored in the freezer, which was never an issue with our previous unit(s)?!?

LG freezer is a piece of junk. Icemaker no longer works. Light has been out in the freezer after three months. Ice builds up on the freezer food. Read out on the door panel now says Er1 and 5 degrees F. I cant afford a new refrigerator, but Im afraid this one is going to burn up. Puddles on the floor when the icemaker was working. Of course now, no more puddles, no more ice, no water in the door. Junk!

Everything about this stove is fine except for the front burner grids. Some fancy designer who has never cooked on a stove in his life decided that it would LOOK GOOD if the front burner grates curved in to match the shape of the griddle. It leaves a big gap on the outer corner of the stove and I ran into the frying pan handle and the pan and all of its hot bacon grease contents went flying across my kitchen. I thought I was being more careful when I hit the handle of a pot of hot stew and it went flying across the kitchen. You must keep your children out of the kitchen when using these front burners. THIS IS A HUGE HAZARD! DO NOT BUY AN LG STOVE WITH GRIDDLE IN THE MIDDLE.

My LG washer/dryer lasted a for a few years, then promptly stopped drying. Authorized service tech came out 4 times, each time replacing more stuff, the typical blind replacement strategy without doing any real diagnostic work. Several hundred dollars of new parts, incidentally I have the old parts in hand and they tested fine. Anyway, it still doesnt dry any better, but somehow passed a self test. Tech said that the support guy he was talking to at factory said we should get a new unit, but when I call to begin this process, LG says they cant authorize that because the self test passed. Call me crazy but the ultimate test of a dryer is whether it dries clothes. LG says it is normal for the clothes to come out of these combo machine dryers somewhat wet. Theyve also discontinued this model (WM-3988HWA). I wonder why. Perhaps Im not the only consumer who expects a dryer to dry things. Dismal support by LG. Yes, it is out of warranty, but if they cant fix it at any price and have discontinued the product, that to me means the product is defective and a prorated refund/exchange should be offered.

This microwave caught fire while steaming vegetables. We heard a snapping sound followed by the entire inside space bursting into flames. I was able to extinguish with no damage except to the microwave. Since the unit was only 10 months old and still under warranty I called LG. Their response was immediate and a technician (tech) was at our home the next day. Upon arrival and inspection he made a few comments: (1) Why did we clean up the damages inside the unit? (2) What happened? (3) I need to call home office to talk to inside Tech.He made the call as we stood there and a Tech on the phone asked him to send a video from his phone with instructions from the Tech on the phone. Once completed he hung up and said this unit is fried and needs to be replaced but two Techs from home office had to review. Ten minutes later they called back saying it was customer error due to GREASE FIRE and they would not repair or replace. My only choice was to escalate the claim to LG management which I did. After sending them store receipt I asked for the denial and reason in writing which they absolutely refused to give me. The next day they emailed me to say they set up a Return Authorization Review and I should hear from them within 2-3 business days. It is now five business days with no response!I went to the store where I purchased the LG microwave, gave them my notes and asked for help. Once reviewed by store and they seen what LG was putting me through they said they would replace the unit. Would you buy another LG product after reading about this runaround? I would not but I certainly will purchase again from Best Buy as they stood behind a product that the manufacturer, LG in this case, would not.

LG washer drum wont turn. Called number in the user guide. Customer service gave me a number to call for repair. Turns out they are too far to service me. Logged in to LG website and called number for washing machines. It was a Sears number that services LG. I advised the washer was 3 years old and out of warranty, but the drum motor was warrantied for 10 years. She said they could not honor the warranty since I did not buy it at Sears. She said I should go back to the store where I bought it, but the store cant do anything past warranty. Talk about a complete run around. All local appliance repair centers service all brands except LG and Samsung. Guess I am screwed.

This washer was purchased in late 2013. Within the first year I was experiencing issues with codes like LE and UE and complete freezes of the control panel. The washer would stop in an unknown cycle at that time and basically force you to rewash the clothes. Calling LG support was no help at that time and I simply lived with it until recently when I was constantly getting unbalanced load errors uE, UE. It got to where I could not complete a cycle at all. I had to go into special mode and try to spin the clothes which was in the end impossible. I called LG several times over the years with nothing ever coming of it. Finally in late August 2016, I was forced to purchase a service contract for $275 just to get one of their certified technicians to come look at the washer. The first tech replaced a part on the bottom of the washer that contained lots of magnets. Sorry I dont remember the part name. This seemed like it made it worst. A second technician arrived several days later and called an engineer in Alabama to diagnose the problem and they immediately decided it was in need of a software update or circuit board change. They opted for the board change because the tech told the engineer he did not have the capabilities of the software update so he would order a board. He basically told me he lied to the engineer to force them to change the board. I suppose it was to my benefit to rule out the board being bad if the software update didnt fix it. Ill never know if the software update would have fixed it. The board arrived the next day and 4 days later he replaced it and now the machine is working fine.My problem with this is they should have suspected the board or software from the first phone call I made. Clearly there is a known issue with this machine and the software. They forced me to purchase a service contract I should not have had to purchase. I have read of many instances of the same problem with this machine. I tried and failed to get them to refund my money.

After reading on the energy savings we bought an LG HE front loader in 2010. Well, after reading my booklet and other information, I understood that have to keep the door open to not have odors in the washer. We have terrible build-up of mold inside the rubber gasket. I am allergic to mold. I have to get in there and clean with bleach but still comes back. I will say it cleans my clothes. You only need a tablespoon of detergent. But my problem now is the terrible LOUD noise it makes every time it empties the water out. Goes off-balance all the time with small loads. CANNOT wash a small throw rug. This expensive appliance is a total waste of my money. Thought I was buying top-of-the-line washer, so spent a bit more. My laundry comes out with obvious dirty marks on it, which must be mold being slung onto the fabric. I dont have confidence that anything is really clean. I have had black streaks on white slacks, sheets, blouses, etc. It is disgusting. I have to hand-wash these marks out the best I can; dont always come clean. Have also thrown out 2 full sets of towels due to looking so nasty & dingy. They do NOT come clean. Also have had problems with the balance, where the machine will not spin out the water with 7 minutes left in the cycle. It keeps adding more water, trying to weigh the load, but cannot spin. Wind up having to pull dripping wet clothes out, finish rinsing the best I can in the bathtub, try to hand-wring these heavy items, and let the dryer run way too hard to dry them. Dont ever buy an LG front-load washing machine. Got this in January 2010; it was manufactured 11/10/2009. It is a piece of JUNK!

My two year and 10 month old LG French door refrigerator quit working last Saturday, Aug. 10. I called LG Monday morning, and they referred me to their repair service, a company called ANE. After I called them, they finally sent out a repairman yesterday (Thursday), and he told me I had a bad circuit board and possibly a compressor. The parts would have to be ordered, and I probably would not have the unit working for another two weeks. The bill will be about $500. When I asked him how I was supposed to live without refrigeration for that long, he replied, Go rent one. That is indescribably bad customer service. To add insult to injury, it is quite apparent neither LG nor ANE could care less. LG Customer Service is an oxymoron. Please stay away from this company and Samsung as well (they also use ANE) until they establish a better service provider.

I purchased the WT5101HW washing machine in September 2011. Within the first few months the door would not latch shut to operate. Fixed under warranty. Then there was the recall for extreme shaking. February 2015 the drain pump needed replacement to the tune of $350 for parts and labor. Now in March 2016 the machine refuses to balance, even when empty. Balanced loads have been a nightmare since the beginning and have gotten progressively worse. My machine goes off balance on every single load whether it is small, large or normal. Today is the final straw as it will not complete the spin cycle, even empty, to fully drain the machine. It just keeps dumping more water in to redistribute the load (even though the machine is currently empty). Its going to the curb and Im going back to Maytag. I will never buy an LG washing machine again.

After 20 years and replacing many parts on my trustworthy but not flawless
After 20 years and replacing many parts on my trustworthy but not flawless Maytag washer and dryer, I finally convinced my wife we should invest in a new set. Unfortunately, we didnt do our homework... she liked the LG set she saw at Home Depot, and away we went. I have to say, Ive made more expensive mistakes in my life, but not many.Theres not much to add that hasnt already been said here, regarding the uneven load syndrome and the fact that it takes all day and probably hundreds of gallons of water to finish what should be a 50 minute load on a water saving machine. Unlike others on this or other forums, I have NOT called LG. Based on all the horror stories I read on every repair site online, it seems pointless to even try. There seems to be NO recognition by LG at the vast extent of this problem with their products, and from what I see, no recourse by consumers. Of those who have gotten repair work done, many incurred significant expense for something that never should have happened in the first place. And for many, the repair (software, new circuit board, etc) was ineffective. The sad part is, I see no responsibility shared by any of the major retailers who sell these products.Im with everyone else - I will never purchase another LG product as long as I live, and Im really stuck with a decision of throwing away a washer that is under a year old, or living with this stupid thing until it craps out. Its apparent I will NEVER get my moneys worth out of it, so it seems pointless to hang onto it any longer really. The best we can do, I feel, is write to the retailers from whom we purchased these LG products and tell them about the issues, and let them know were not happy with their continued decision to sell LG products.

We bought this refrigerator less than 2 years ago (12/2016). A few weeks ago it stopped cooling. A serviceman from the store where we bought the refrigerator came out to service it, and said the coil with the refrigerant was leaking. BUT, he couldnt fix it because LG only lets its own servicemen fix this problem (according to the serviceman thats because so many LG refrigerators refrigerant coils leak). The serviceman said LG would contact me within 24 hours to set up an appointment. 3 days later we hadnt heard from LG. We again called the store where wed purchased the refrigerator and then said they would call LG directly. Even then (after a week without a refrigerator) LG jerked us around. First, someone would be out the next day. Then 3 days later. After someone finally came and fixed the refrigerator, it stopped working again 3 days later! This time we went directly to the store where we had purchased the model, and they agreed to replace the refrigerator. LG wont do squat to rectify their defective product. LG French door model - I purchased one of the most expensive fridges in the LG lineup about 3.5 years ago. It stopped working - no cold air anywhere. I called LG, and they offered me a flat rate deal to send a technician and fix the fridge (about $210). I paid and a technician came. The problem was the compressor relay. He could not order the part because it was discontinued. It took LG 4 weeks to agree that the part was not available (during that time, I was without a fridge). Every time I called to inquire, they told me to be patient. Now, their only offer is to pro-rate the fridge value and pay me around $900 towards the value of a new LG Fridge. I asked for a replacement; they refused. To add insult to injury, they said I am not even getting back the full $210 repair cost because the technician still has to get paid, although nothing was fixed. LG makes a wide range of goods. Sadly, I love the range, the oven (LSE4613ST slide in range), it is all beautiful... BUT it is an accident waiting to happen. It has been a little over a year since I purchased the range. About the same time last year I had friends staying in my place after their rental was sold out from under them. I stayed with a friend. One day I got a call from them telling me that they are not sure what happened, but one of the stoves burners turned on by itself. It was a mystery and hard to believe so we figured someone forgot to turn it off after using. The next time it happened a towel caught on fire, and we were thinking a Poltergeist (I teased her). One day by total accident they discovered that all they had to do was brush against any one of the burner knobs and the element would go on. I called LG but wasnt able to get any assistance from them. All they said was it is not a known issue and apologized for not being able to help. I called Home Depot where I purchased it. The lady was very helpful and gave me the number to the LG guy that does repair work for Home Depot LG products. The technician stated that the knobs coming on with the slightest touch was a known issue and he would like to do an upgrade. The upgrade was at no charge. He replace the entire heat knob assembly that was suppose to make the knobs have to be pushed in a ways before you could turn it. I was ecstatic! My friends finally found a home of their own and will be moving soon. My friends Aunt was over there helping her pack dishware and was using the stove top to do it because there was no place to sit. My friend said she smelled smoke and ran over just in time to see the burner had just come on and was starting to burn the newspaper. My friends Aunt does have a little bit of a tummy on her, so they figured she had pushed the knob in by accident. Obviously the upgrade did not fix it. I guess my friend and her husband had been scared to get too close to the stove, even after it was fixed, so that had prevented any more fires. Now I am going to have to get another stove or be reimbursed for this one. I doubt that will happen. But yes, I am surprised we havent heard of someone getting really hurt by this stove.

I purchased an LG refrigerator from Best Buy and it is three years old. I live in Santa Fe New Mexico and it turns out there are no authorized service people here. I called LG directly and they referred me to people who said they would not even look at an LG refrigerator and wished me luck. After 7 phone calls they advised me to find a service person who would work on it and they would authorize them. I found someone and when they called to get the information LG would not give it to them. I called to get the information how to safely remove the ice and water dispenser to check the control board and they refused to give it to me. I then requested to speak to a supervisor and was told one would call me back the next day. A week has gone by and no call. I would say their customer service is the worst I have ever experienced and that is supported by talking to a half dozen repair people in Northern NM who refuse to work on any LG products because they are complicated and there is no support from LG. This is an expensive lesson. A $3000 refrigerator is on the way to the dump after 3 years.

Woke up on the 4th of July with a house full of company visiting and tons of food in the fridge and freezer defrosted and spoiled. My extended warranty not covered because I was told LG is now covering cooling issues for 5 years from purchase. After extended hold times with LG (over an hour each time) it took them over 2 weeks to send a repair person. Repair finally done on Wednesday, they changed out the compressor. Was told to allow fridge to cool for 24 hours before placing anything inside and 24 hours for ice. It has been 48 hours, shopped today for some food as everything had to be thrown out and the fridge and freezer are not cooling properly. Ice not freezing, few items in freezer mushy and milk and juice barely cool. Will have to get back on the phone with customer service tomorrow.

My 1st review 10/2020 was not acknowledged... My issues with LG was with my dryer shortly after I purchased my combo from Sears in 2004. Over the last year or so our washing machine has been leaking more and more. The mysterious thing is that it’s intermittently. Well, it finally decided to go all the way crazy & water was spewing from the bottom of the washing machine from somewhere. By the time we noticed it our washing area and hallway was completely flooded upstairs and water was leaking all through our house downstairs. It was horrible! I’m now stuck with a washer we don’t want anymore out of fear of flooding & knowledge the manufacturing company will be no help. After researching I see I’m not alone, but nothing has yet to be done by LG. Life’s not Good LG!

We bought a $3,000 LG refrigerator 4 years ago. A few weeks ago, it failed -- an error message about a motor. I checked and found that the very refrigerator model had been the subject of a class-action settlement over the defective product. LG NEVER NOTIFIED US about the class-action suit, and the settlement has now been closed. LGs response to our problem: You are now out of warranty and a repair will cost about $350. This is truly a vile company which sells defective products. (We also had an LG TV die after five years.) Buyer beware!!

We purchased all of our LG appliances at Home Depot May of 2013. So far we have had issues with both our LFX31945st fridge and our DLEX8000v dryer. Fridge costing $3200 and dryer $1300 having an issue within the first 8 months of use. Seems crazy to me but thats not even the beginning of our frustration. Ill try to stay on topic with the dryer on this review. Our dryer initially stopped drying on a Sunday. When we called LG for it to be repaired, we were told to call one of their service reps to come and repair it which I thought was weird, that we had to do the legwork for their warranty repair. A&E was their contractor that we scheduled services with. The soonest they could come was Tuesday. They replaced the thermostat and it worked for about 30min then it stopped working again, of course after the tech left. We called LG and they said they cant do anything further until they receive the work history from the tech which could take 24-48hrs after the services were completed. They finally allowed me to speak with a supervisor after requesting it for the fourth time. The supervisor wasnt much better but after arguing with him for over an hr, he said he would have Dells come over on Thursday since A&E didnt have any apts. available. Which was a lie because we actually had A&E coming over that same day to repair our LG fridge for the third time that same day. When Dells came, they were already upset that they were requested to service it after another repair shop tried to repair so they simply confirmed that it was not heating and called LG to explain that it was broken. They argued and belittled their own service rep to the point he didnt even want to talk with them anymore. After he left I called LG again and they said they would have to set up another service call because Dells didnt change any parts, it was not considered serviced. Long story short, LG told me three parts must be changed in the appliance before it will be reviewed for replacement or refund. The tech must provide the work history to the proper LG phone number or it doesnt count. Us as the customer have to pay the price for LGs lack of organization and horrible processes. They scheduled a third service call for Sunday so it had been a week since we had a working dryer. A&E visited us again and changed the thermostat again. I confirmed that the dryer was working but I could smell something burnt. He said that was normal for the dryer to smell like that. I put a load in and started and told him to stick around for a few minutes to make sure it still worked. I also spoke to him about contacting LG to let them know whats going on in order to move their process along. He flat out refused to call them because of his experience with their customer service. He had another apt. so he left. Not ten minutes after he left it stopped working again. I called LG and again they told me there was nothing they can do until they receive his work history asking me to contact them to send it to them. What kind of company expects their customers to do their job for them? Ridiculous! When I asked them what they expect me to do until my dryer is repaired or replaced. They asked me if I knew what a clothes hanger was? They also suggested to let them air dry. Why would I purchase a $1300 dryer if I planned on letting my clothes air dry around my house or on a clothes line. LG is a joke. I spoke to the manager of Home Depot and explained my LG experience with him and he said he wasnt surprised I wasnt the first to tell him about there horrible service and he had spoken to them personally on behalf of us to get it resolved. He said he wasnt treated any better. Home Depots manager has been the only one that has helped us. Even though it has nothing to do with the warranty Home Depot gave us, he has offered to send us a dryer to use while we are dealing with the return process with LG which I thought was very generous of Home Depot. They actually care to keep our business and LG could care less. LG is setting up another appointment A&E to come out tomorrow so they can change out the same part for the third time to see if the third time is a charm I guess. LGs appliances might look nice from the outside but they dont function worth a crap and dont expect them to want to help you with them when they do fall apart. I would prefer to have no customer service then deal with their customer service. I wish they would take all of their appliances back.

Like thousands of other LG Refrigerator victims my new LG model LSXS26366S died. I had to throw out over $200.00 worth of fresh food, spent another $1000 on repairs. I called LG speaking to call centers overseas trained to kill you with kindness as they provide no help. Then had to pay a local company to look at it, the technicians said I hate to tell you youre screwed sir, a sealed system failure. Compressor. Then LG on the 4th day arranged a company that showed up in the 1970 tiny pickup truck, they do not accept credit cards cash only- yup sealed system failure that will be another $89.00 bucks. $1,100 to fix it. The Federal Trade Commission is allowing LG Electronics USA to continue to rip-off Americans. LG is aware of their defective compressors & systems. I was told they are back ordered in Korea, could be 2 months before parts become available. A Class Action Lawsuit must be filed to protect Honest Americans from this company. Furthermore - If your large retail chain store is selling LG appliances - YOU ARE RIPPING OFF Your customers.

The very first time I use the cleaner provided by LG it takes off the black top surface from one of the elements. Called 18885422623 and the person I talked to said theres nothing they can do - is cosmetic. Surely there has to be some defect for the black surface to come off after just one time cleaning with product provided by LG. We purchased our LG front loading washer and dryer in 2018. Like many of the reviews I have read we too are very disappointed in our purchase. I noticed that the clothes came out smelling within a few months of buying and I called LG DIRECTLY as it was under their warranty but was told that I need to run the tub clean more often. Done that for over a year and also washed clothes twice - not efficient as waste of energy. We do have an extended warranty and recently a tech came out so I let him open the washer door as I had just done a tub clean the night before - it smelled like a rat was dead in the drum. He too agreed he had never experienced that before! He poured half a bottle of my Bleach and ran the cycles again for almost 2 hours. Said the problem was fixed and if I experienced the smell again I needed to call them back thru Assurant the company who warranties the extended warranty. Did so and they declined to send a different tech saying that there was no mechanical problem. My clothes come out smelling and the even the dryer time has to be increased to double for the clothes to dry correctly. NEVER BUY THIS WASHER OR DRYER EVER. EVEN THE EXTENDED WARRANTY WILL OT HELP WITH THIS PROBLEM. I bought the pair from a very reputable store in the area but I believe that LG Is aware of the problems with the machines and do not want to take responsibility for the defects. I do hope this review deters anyone buying an LG front load direct drive washer and dryer.

Im going to make this quick and simple a easy read. I have had an amazing experience with LG televisions for years. The washing machines however are a whole different animal! My thought process was spend a good amount of cash get a good name brand, and it would last me at least 10+ years. Not the case!! We purchased our front load LG washer in 2012. It worked fine up until about 6 months ago. It would stop about 10 times through a wash cycle. It would take about 3 hours per load! Ridiculous!!! Of course we tried contacting LG to no avail! Got the run around from several scripted employees. I will never purchase a LG washer of any kind and suggest anyone else do the same!! Unless you enjoy spending your hard earned money on a worthless product that would only last 4 years if you are lucky!

I bought this refrigerator in Sept. 2012. January 2013 I experienced the 1F error message. LG had a tech come out and replace the computer board and the fan. January 2014 same thing happened. They replaced the control board and the fan (the original fan was recalled so a newer fan was put in place). January 2015 freezer frosting up again causing the fan to run all the time. LG says it’s out of warranty however it is the control board that is broke again. They sent a tech out that would not open the door until I gave them a check for $60.00. Then they tell me that LG is just refurbishing the old boards and sending them back to be put back in the refrigerator. They tell me they want $308.00 to replace and that I have to give them $150.00 before they would order. I can’t afford that. This should be LG replacing this as this part is defective and they continue to put defective parts back into the refrigerator and charge the consumer. All I want is a working refrigerator. I will never buy an LG product again. They are deceptive and should be recalling these control boards and replacing them with working boards.

I called LG customer support and they sent out technician to fix it- he did not, they ordered more parts and again came back - did not fix again. Currently waiting again for them to fix it again. Over 1.5 months of no washer. They should be providing me with a brand new washer instead of having me wait over 1 month to have it fixed. Still broken. Worst customer service and even worse product. I purchased my LG refrigerator in June 2017 and 3 weeks ago the compressor failed. After a few hours of talking with LG they agreed to send out a repair person to assess the issue. A&E is the only authorized repair in my area that can work on a sealed compressor so an appointment was set for 2 days after my initial call. The repair person let me know that this is a known issue with the LG refrigerators and that even with replacement I might only get another year out of this fridge. LG finally agreed to a one time compressor replacement and A&E ordered the parts. The parts never arrived and instead of re-ordering what was the initial order, A&E insisted that they would have to come back out to my home before they could re-order the parts. They appoint was another 2 days out. When they arrived, they confirmed the parts that needed to be ordered, rescheduled an appointment for August 28 and again ordered, 2019 the parts which arrived 5 days later. The new Super Compressor according the A&E was installed on August 28, 2019 and we were told to wait 24 hours for the appropriate cooling. Since this install my freezer still has not gotten cold, the fridge now will fluctuate from 20 degrees to 56 degrees and now the panel is showing an error code. I am now waiting for A&E to come on Sept 3, 2019 to look at the fridge again. Both LG and A&E only have call centers with trained staff to restate that they are sorry for the inconvenience and nothing more. I am on the verge of 4 weeks without a refrigerator with no end in sight. I based my purchase on the Consumer Reports magazine and website that touted the LG fridge performance and reliability. As a consumer I feel that I have been duped and am potentially looking at investing more money for a refrigerator that works. I would never buy an LG product again after this experience knowing that this was a known issue and LG kept selling their product with the same faulty compressor.

I would like to inform you that I am using LG home appliances past 15 years, like TV, Refrigerator (LG-225BEDG5), Washing machine (T7267TDDLL), Microwave Oven (MH-6340PS), Split AC Inverter Type 1.5 ton etc. I have purchased the Refrigerator in Dec 2012. While defrosting the fridge normally melted water coming into the plastic tray which fitted above the compressor and it will help for cooling the compressor. In this model the compressor is mounted in a IRON RECTANGLE TRAY and water overflows from plastic tray and enters the IRON Rectangle tray and it get RUSTED due to accumulation of water. This will lead to compressor falling down and damages the product. In view of the above, to UP KEEP the GOOD WILL of LG Name and product kindly look into the matter in deserving seriousness. I suggest that present positioning of THE RECTANGLE PLATE BE REVERSED and mount the compressor on that, so that water will not be accumulated in the tray. Normally since this part is coming behind the refrigerator, this defect will not be visible before it is too late. This is only a suggestion for your consideration, myself being a regular customer of LG (Life is Good) brand.

This refrigerator has been nothing but aggravation. We have had problems with the freezer fa, replaced several times. Ice forming inside the refrigerator left side, food freezing in the left crisper and continuous significant noise like a motor boat. This grinding subsides for a few days, then starts again. The latest problem caused the refrigerator to stop working completely. It has been almost three weeks and it is still not operational. Service is horrendous. Overnight parts do not arrive on time. Only one technician in the area. Parts needed are ordered one at a time, extending down time, rather than sent together to shorten repair time. The most frustrating issue is the difficulty of reaching anyone without being re-routed several times, then dropping the line after 45 minutes to one hour.

All of our appliances and most of our TVs are LG products. They will all be replaced with another brand when the time comes. The Linear Compressor in the french door refrigerators are known defects. Good news is that a class action lawsuit was filed against LG. I had mine diagnosed by a local repairman. He says he sees at least (2) of them every week and sometimes several more. Unfortunately, he was not an LG contractor so he could not get the compressor directly. I would have to contact LG and get authorization letter he can use to order the part and I would have to pay him for labor on installation. I didnt want to have to deal with LG (customer service sucks!!). I called their helpline and explained that I needed someone to replace the compressor that was covered under parts warranty. They said I would have to pay another diagnostic fee. The the tech could schedule the repair. A 2500 refrigerator that lasted (5) years and now I am paying to have it fixed. The Kenmore in my garage is over 20 years old and I have never had an issue with it. Fool me once, shame on you - fool me twice, shame on me. I will not buy an LG appliance again. After reading review after review on this site detailing the same issues I have had with my $3000 LG French door refrigerator, I will not waste time with detailing the issues I have had with this trash LG product. Same no-customer-service response from LG; the service company they gave us hasn’t worked for them for 2 years! We finally had to go directly to Home Depot to get a service repair person to come and look at our refrigerator. It has been two weeks without my refrigerator and hopefully it will get fixed today. But according to the other reviews that I read that may not be the last of my problems with this refrigerator. I am not hopeful. This is the second LG refrigerator that has had this problem; Home Depot, who has pretty decent Customer Service, replaced this same exact refrigerator one year ago. That refrigerator was only a year old when this exact same problems of the compressor going out occurred. The repairmen who are here today said they have been extremely busy lately repairing LG refrigerators with this problem! I am SO frustrated! LG Inverter Linear compressor went bad 3 weeks ago. This is my second purchase of a LG refrigerator. They came out on November 27 and told us our compressor went bad and would order another one. Needless to say, Thanksgiving dinner was served out of coolers and neighbors spare refrigerators. We have been calling both the LG service department and the service company that LG said would fix our compressor. The service company says they cannot get a compressor when we call them. LG service department says they have them in stock. My first unit came with a manufacturing defect where the housing unit inside the fridge housing. The styrofoam kept coming apart and wouldnt stay put. LG and Lowes recommended that I just exchange it for a new product. Besides that one manufacturing defect, the unit worked fine; it was quiet and efficient. Now, after a week the second and replacement unit was delivered. Oh boy, LG has some major issues they need to fix. First, the unit comes without one shelf on the freezer side. This was remedied by them saying they would send one out to us. Second, this fridge is much louder than the first unit we received. It makes a constant humming noise, which is quiet and we wouldnt have thought much of it, but we had experiences with our first defective unit to compare it to. Heres the kicker though. Occasionally, the fridge will start rattling. Its not too abhorrent, but when we open the fridge, the shelves will make a vibrating noise that gets amplified. I contacted LG support again to ask how to remedy this because we werent sure if it was a leveling issue or something else. The agent that I was connected to just tells me to unplug it and plug it back in, and adds that if it isnt resolved we would need service for a fridge that we had just received. To top it all off, the serial number matches a fridge that was made in April 2020. How terrible does your quality control procedure have to be for this to happen? Im 0/2 in receiving a brand new perfect product. I went with LG because people said they improved (partially because of my Korean bias), but man stay away. Currently debating if I should ask Lowes to replace the unit or if I should go with a completely different refrigerator. Terrible. Just terrible.
