Samsung Dryer Model DVG45T6020W Error Codes

CODE: do
PROBLEM: Door open
FIX: Begin by cleaning the door switch/lock to remove any lint or residue that is keeping it from closing properly. Use a bit of rubbing alcohol on a cotton swab to clean the connectors. They must make complete contact for the dryer to operate.

CODE: dF
PROBLEM: Door circuit failure
FIX: Unplug the dryer and check for loose or damaged wiring connections in the door/lock switch circuit. Reconnect the wires or replace the wires if they look burned or damaged.

CODE: Od
PROBLEM: Excessive drying time
FIX: Clean the moisture sensor inside the dryer drum with a bit of rubbing alcohol and a cotton swab. If you use dryer sheets, they coat the sensor with residue and extend drying time by tricking the sensor into thinking that moisture is still present.

CODE: FE
PROBLEM: Problem with power supply
FIX: You can test the voltage the dryer is getting with a voltage meter. If the dryer is getting the 60 Hz power it requires, the electronic control board is faulty and must be replaced. This requires a professional. An electrician or your electrical power supplier should check the frequency of your electrical power supply when they come for the repair appointment.

CODE: tS or tO
PROBLEM: Defective temperature sensor (electrically shorted or electrically open)
FIX: Unplug the dryer and use a volt/ohm meter to test the resistance of the temperature sensor or thermistor. If the resistance is more than 40,000 ohms, replace the thermistor.

CODE: hE or HE
PROBLEM: Gas dryer heating error
FIX: Unplug the dryer and reconnect any loose wiring connections on the gas valve coils or replace the wire harness if damaged.

CODE: hE or HE
PROBLEM: Electric dryer heating error
FIX: First, check the circuit breakers in your home's electrical box to see if they have tripped. Reset if they have tripped.

CODE: bE
PROBLEM: Stuck button on the control panel
FIX: Press all the buttons on the control panel to free the stuck button. If the stuck button cannot be freed, replace the user interface control.

CODE: Et
PROBLEM: Control board failure
FIX: Start by unplugging the dryer for five minutes to reset the control board. If the code appears again after you restore power to the dryer, the electronic control board will need to be replaced.

I purchased a brand new refrigerator from Lowes September of 2016. A couple weeks later the ice machine stopped giving ice. I called Samsung and first they told me to reset the ice machine and wait 24 hours. I did that and that didnt work. So I called back and they told me that my 1 year warranty was over and I would have to pay them for service. I DONT KNOW HOW A 1 YEAR WARRANTY CAN EXPIRE IN TWO MONTHS. It is December of 2016 that I am typing this review and I barely purchased my refrigerator in September of 2016. Either Samsung doesnt know how to count or the employees are high on drugs. This is so wrong. So I had to send my receipt to EFAX@sea.samsung.com and wait 24 to 48 hours. Well after a week of waiting I called back and they said that they never received my email. They are just trying to kill time for the warranty to really expire. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING SAMSUNG!!!

First the poor design was the ice maker which broke three times. Repaired it twice and gave up. Bought ice maker. (Mine was the ice maker on top of freezer. Always getting knocked into and broken). I noticed new models dont have the ice maker on top of freezer. Plastic parts broke. Now it is hot in the refrigerator and freezer. Lost between $200 -300 dollars worth of food. Then TRY to find a repairmen. What a sorry lot. Supposed to come last Thursday, truck broke down. Was rescheduled for Sat. No show. Now they can come Sat. That is one week and a half without a refrigerator. I spent big bucks on this I believe 4 or five years ago. Will NEVER get another Samsung product.

I purchased a Samsung side by side refrigerator 2/09. The compressor went out 11/2/09. There is a five year warranty on the compressor [sealed system]. I called Best Buy because I bought it there. BB sends a tech out 11/21 who tested everything and determined it was the compressor but Samsung must authorize that repair. I call the Samsung rep who tells me that even though a Samsung certified BB geek squad tech had determined it was a compressor, Samsung wanted to send another tech out at my expense to do the same thing. After a number of calls regarding the stupidity of a double diagnosis, Samsung told me I did not have to pay for the 2nd tech. Tech shows up and demands 105 trip charge before looking at fridge. I refuse, he leaves. I call Samsung back a number of times and ultimately the rep agrees that if I can supply him a copy of the Geek Squad work order Samsung will replace compressor at no charge to me. I call BB, get copy of work order and email to Samsung. After several days I follow up with Samsung who is supposed to call me. I am told work order not clear enough [tech in-artfully put thinks its the compressor and it is under review.] After several more calls, Samsung rep arranges conference call with Geek Squad rep who agrees to contact tech and get more definitive statement. 3 days later Geek Squad rep calls back stating its contractor A&E service will not contact tech or let Geek Squad. I call Samsung back and am told different rep will call me. Yet another Samsung rep calls and tells me that Samsung will authorize compressor replacement but only parts. States I will have to pay for labor and freon. It is 12/25/13 as I write this and still no compressor. This is no way to treat customers. I will not buy this brand again!!

Bought this RF261 French door/bottom drawer fridge and dishwasher in same style in Sept 2012. Within a month or so we found accumulated water in the drip pan under at the bottom of the fridge. Now the ice maker has failed and consumer service fix (reset button) did not work. Dishwasher does not clean well even with pre-rinse and accumulates sludge under door. No more Samsung products for me!Updated on 12/28/2015: We found only two appliance technicians in our area who would work on a Samsung; one had to come 70 mi. one-way, and the other was Sears. The Sears technician quoted a price of nearly $900 to repair these two problems. We also bought a matching Samsung dishwasher, and although it works, it doesnt clean well, and the door gasket collects food debris and stinks. Since both are out of the warranty period, Samsung wont do anything. I will, though: Ill never buy a Samsung product again.

This is a Japanese product that is beautiful in looks and style. However, if you need any service, the vendors are few and far between. If a handle loses a screw, they will tell you the whole door needs to be replaced which will cost hundreds of dollars. When you call the Samsung customer service, they will refer the same Japanese repair company and promise to call you back with another repair company (which they never do) when you tell them that company is an unethical company. Also the ice maker freezes up & stops working a lot.

After reading the articles on here I realize I am not alone in realizing my high end dishwasher is a piece of expensive junk. The only washing I got done was the washing that my bank account took. Barely had it a year and getting a non stop LE code. Pulled the unit out and there is no leak anywhere that I can find. I was silly and did not buy an extended warranty as I thought I bought a quality product, never again. I refuse to pay anyone to repair it and have it fail again. I will buy another one but I promise I will not buy anything with the name Samsung on any item. The joke on me is I replaced a working one that was noisy for this high end quiet one. Yup....cant hear any noise coming from it.

I purchased French door fridge (Model RFG298AARS) in May 2010. To be safe, also bought the extended warranty. First problem occurred within 6 months - some sort of electronic (control board) problem. Still under warranty, so no cost issue. The part was replaced at no charge. Serviceman suggested a surge suppressor to help prevent damage to electronic components. Got one and have had no similar problems since. After about a year, ice started forming under the pull-out meat tray, freezing it in place and making it difficult to open. The service tech said it was a manufacturing defect and ground off part of the drip pan. Seems to have corrected the problem. Without the extended warranty, I would be facing a large repair bill. I have also had problems with my Samsung dishwasher and electric stove. l am very disappointed with Samsung kitchen appliances and will not purchase in the future.

Just a note to say that it is beyond me how a giant company like Samsung can sell such sub par products and allow themselves to disappoint millions of customers with their extremely horrible customer service. I cant even count how many bad reviews there are out there about numerous Samsung Refrigerator models, not to mention all the other product issues as well. We too purchased a terrible fridge model RF267 and have been dealing with the ice maker freeze up and water leaking among other things for years. Its appalling to me that Samsung can let this go on and on for years on end. If a company refuses to build a good product and refuses to be held accountable for their lack of knowledge in engineering and complete disregard for customer satisfaction, they should no longer be in business. Bye bye Samsung... The electronic world is far too competitive. Its only a matter of time before what you have dished out comes back to you.

I purchased a brand new high end Samsung dishwasher thru Lowes. The top basket looked like it had been jammed into the bracket during the manufacturing process; the left side metal arm that the roller sat on was bent so it didnt fit onto the bracket and the other roller was broken. I called Samsung and they told me I had to purchase another roller even though I explained to them it was brand new. I had heard about their poor customer service thru a friend of mine that had purchased a refrigerator for her retired parents. It took Samsung over a month and a half to repair that brand new refrigerator (which in the meantime meant they had to rent a replacement at their expense). I own Samsung Smartphones, TVs, etc. but this will be the last large appliance I buy from Samsung. Terrible, terrible customer service over a couple dollar part!!!

We purchased a brand new Samsung French Door Refrigerator Model RF28HDEDBSR
We purchased a brand new Samsung French Door Refrigerator Model RF28HDEDBSR on Feb 6, 2015. It worked fine for a little while. It began emitting a strange chemical odor and around the same time, the water filter needed replaced. We assumed that was what caused the odor so we changed the filter but the odor remained. Weve completely cleaned the entire refrigerator and freezer many, many times with bleach, but it does not help. The odor permeates everything. The ice cubes taste like the same chemical odor and the food holds the smell. I called Samsung on 12-14-15 and was told that we needed to clean the entire unit again. They told us to clean it with baking soda and water this time, unplug the unit for 3 hours, and keep the doors opened for 3 hours. We did as they instructed and still no change. When we called back on 12-16-15, they informed us, that according to our serial number, it was no longer under warranty. We had to scan and email a copy of our receipt to prove the date of purchase and was told theyd return our call within 24 hours. Their service department called back 12-18-15 (48 hours later) and could not schedule us for 6 more days! When we voiced our frustration with this, we were told that there was nothing they could do. We mentioned that we saw many other consumer reviews with the same issue and the response we received was that people will make up things to complain about, there is no known problem with this refrigerator. Since we had little recourse, we scheduled the appointment for 12-24-15 (yes, Christmas Eve) and told them that this was very inconvenient since we were no longer using the unit. On 12-22-15, the Service Center called back to inform us that we were out of their area and they would not be servicing us after all! I had to, again, call Samsung and was told that I must wait another 24 to 48 hours for another service center to contact us. I again, voiced my opinion that this was horrible customer service. Here it is, 12-28-15, and no one has called us. And as Im typing this, Ive been on hold for 70 minutes with Samsung, trying to get someone to answer.I will NEVER, EVER, EVER purchase another Samsung appliance. This is unacceptable and the WORST customer service experience Ive ever had.

We purchased 6 Samsung appliances for two new units before Christmas of 2015 and took delivery in the beginning of February 2016. It is a brand new house, brand new appliances. When we peel the protective film off the door, a dent was discovered. Call Samsung, they quoted us the 48 hour policy which stated that if there was anything wrong cosmetically with the Fridge, it must be reported within 48 hours. This policy was never communicated to us. If this policy is so important, it should have been communicated to us at time of purchase and again at the point of delivery. The fridge was delivered at the end of the day. The plumber that was to install the fridge was on holiday until a week later, we did not want to peel off the protective film until the fridge is installed and move into the proper location. When the film was peeled off there was a dent on the door which was clearly a factory mishap and there is nothing they will do. Extremely frustrating and disappointing with the whole experience.

More of the same. I brought the refrigerator RS261MDWP on 11-21-2011 at Best Buy. The freezer froze up and did not drain as designed. I took out the fan that cools the refrigerator side. I called for a repair. The repair company is CE in CT, rated F with the Better Business. I am now playing games with CE to come out to repair it. Now the freezers side is not working and the controller on the front of the unit is dead. It is plainly a piece of crap. I am now playing games with both Samsung and CE. Do not buy this refrigerator for even a dollar. You will be sorry. Looks like a lawsuit is the only way to correct the problem.

They delivered and left hole exposed to dust and humidity. If you want holes drilled into your refrigerator and left exposed then purchase a Samsung. Ice maker never worked properly (leaked, jammed, made inadequate ice when it did work). Since I had another refrigerator, I decided to take out the ice maker to make more room in the freezer. Did so (after great effort--badly designed drawers for removal). Refrigerator wouldnt work. Went on chat line. First time worked with someone for 25 minutes who obviously didnt have a clue about my particular model (kept referring to buttons that didnt exist) even though I had given her the correct model (french door unit)--then cut off. Tried again; passed to another tech. In both cases, I asked if the removal of the ice maker might have caused the problem. Was assured not. Went through every possible trouble-shooting efforts (most of which I had already done). Asked again: could it be that the removal of the icemaker was causing the problems? No, I was told, I would have to call a service rep. Before I did so, however, I reinstalled the icemaker. Refrigerator worked perfectly. Apart from the fact that English is clearly a second language, these folks dont have a clue about their own equipment.

I had written earlier regarding Samsungs positive response for my request for service but they performed even better when I encountered additional service problems. The service tech they selected wasnt responding to my efforts to do the job. I called Samsung and reported the delay. After that call, they called me every day to determine if the rep had set up an appointment and offered to give the job to a different technician. I asked for another service center and they set it up and in 2 days, the microwave had the control panel replaced at no cost. The service rep was timely, called me in advance and finished the job in less than 10 minutes. Best effort by a major company ever!

After purchasing all new matching appliances refrigerator, stove, microwave
After purchasing all new matching appliances refrigerator, stove, microwave and dishwasher 2 yrs ago, the Refrigerator stopped making ice after a couple months of owning. Plus its the noisiest refrigerator, ever. Service rep. came in and defrosted it, and it began making ice again. Ice is always soft and water drips inside the lower compartment. Several calls for service rep, with same repair results, defrost. The week the warranty expired, same issue. Called manufacturer. Asked if there was a recall on the refrigerator. They said no. Unbelievable, poor engineering, there should have been. They offered a free repair service, with replacement of ice maker. Well completed job. Ice is a bit more solid, but ice maker still froze up within three months of replacement, sad. I will never buy another Samsung product. Very poor customer service too. Sold all appliances for a loss. Bought all new GE Appliances. Still Made In USA. Better warranty. They look and work great.

Bought Samsung refrigerator RF263BEAESR in 2012 and within 2 years, the ice maker failed. Samsung would not fix since it was out of warranty. I spent the next 7 years calling periodically to see if they would address their defective product. They never would - until this year! Now they agreed to replace the ice maker. However, since Ive spent 7 years chisling, blowdrying, doing whatever I could to remove the shoebox size block of ice that appears - the housing that the icemaker sits in has become disfigured. Because I damaged the housing, my ice maker cannot be replaced and they will not replace the housing. So - they make a piece of crap ice maker - I suffer 7 years of listening to strange noises, fighting an ever-growing glacier of ice, etc. - and now, after 7 years - Im at fault for damaging the ice maker housing. I will never buy a SAMSUNG product as long as I live. They are despicable.

I have a french door refrigerator, model RF197ACWP, that was purchased 6 years ago. In the past 2 years we have had it worked on for collecting water in the crisper drawers and water and ice on the bottom shelf. We have spent over $600 on repairs and the problem continues. I have read many reviews now with the same issue. Over the past 2 months, through numerous phone calls, I have spent around 4 hours on the phone with Samsung, trying to get some compensation. I have been giving inaccurate information, transferred to the wrong department, hung up on, put on hold and never returned to, been spoken to in a rude way and many other discouraging encounters. It felt as though they were purposefully trying to shake me from pursuing this issue! I have never felt so disrespected by a company. The last thing they told me is that I will be reimbursed part of the cost of the refrigerator, but they have not followed through on any of the steps yet, which they told me would be weeks ago! I am so discouraged by the product and customer service. I guess I will now be looking into signing up for a class action suit or whatever else can be done.

My Samsung Microwave was getting old and stopped working. It just wouldnt start up. A few hours later I heard an explosion in the kitchen. It was on fire. I could not extinguish it until I thought to unplug it and pour water on top of the flames through the ventilation grates on the top. The cabinet above the microwave had just started to burn so Im sure that there would have been a serious fire had I not been at home. Later I read about popping noises being a warning sign that something is wrong and I did hear a few pops before it stopped working. Please unplug your microwave if you hear popping and call the company or a repairman. I wish I had known that the popping is a sign that my microwave was in serious trouble. I had never heard about the dangers of a microwave that had stopped working. Register your microwave so that you will be informed of problems with the model you buy.

Updated on 08/02/2018: It has continually built up of ice, under the ice maker every 5/6 weeks. Have notice partially melted ice in the storage bucket, in which it jams the ice dispenser. Either I use a hair dryer to defrost or chip the sheet of ice off the ice maker. To free the ice out of the ice maker bucket I run warm water through it. Have updated the motherboard, and replaced the ice maker twice. With one new revision, that has a physical square rectangle water intake housing. None of these parts fixed my problems!Original review: I have a Samsung Refrigerator model RF263BEAESRAA purchased on 6/13. Ice seems to build up on bottom of ice maker & also around ice dispenser rod to the point in which itll freeze solid & will no longer dispense ice. Every week Im having to dump out semi-melted ice out of the ice jammed dispenser & ice thats build up thats located under the ice maker. Having replaced ice maker, motherboard, auger motor & fan assembly. Its still doing the same thing as far as ice building up.

RF series fridge freezes up, leaks water on to floor causing damage to flooring. Ice maker also freezes up. Must defrost fridge for an entire day every month or so. Samsung will not share the root cause of this failure. The solution offered by Samsung is to defrost it for 24 hours. Our $1000.00 dishwasher was placed curbside after 1.5 years. These refrigerator/appliances were advertised as black stainless steel and they are simply Black Shrink Wrapped. Have had my fridge for 3 years and am embarrassed when company comes over. Recently purchased a high end dishwasher and had to chose a different brand. I do love the black, but unless Samsung chooses to find a paint, replace the door or find another way to make this fridge look as advertised, I can no longer recommend Samsung black stainless products. Samsung has made no attempt at a resolve. Why advertise black stainless when it is a film that is applied and peels off in creases, near handles, folds and edges. I have several areas of peeling that began a year after purchase. Requested a paint from the company and was told there was none available nor would a paint be available. Probably because shrink wrap is not paint.

I have the Samsung French Door Refrigerator model RF217 series. It is 2 years old and the water is pooling under the vegetable bins and inside the bins. I called the customer service and of course, it is not under warranty. The repair person they recommend wants $180 to look at the refrigerator plus parts which could be anywhere from $20 to $250 depending on the problem. How can so many people have this problem and the company state there is design flaw. They should have a recall. I will never purchase anything from this company ever.

I purchased a Samsung French door refrigerator in 2010. Within six months, the freezer sensor had to be replaced. Fortunately, I purchased a warranty from Sears. We had previously purchased a fridge, and loved it when we bought a new house, we got a new stove and microwave. The microwave started not working at Thanksgiving, less than a year after purchase. Samsung gave us the runaround about it being out of warranty. First they tried to claim the warranty started when they made it, then after several weeks and two repairmen not coming because of the warranty issue, and then Thanksgiving we had NO microwave. We called and complained, they said it was under warranty, but when a different repairman calls, they say it is not. This time, because when they made the ticket it was after the purchase date. We had already purchased an extended warranty, they wanted proof. Samsung has given us the runaround for more than 3 weeks now!!! Their repair service SUCKS!!! Their products are ok at best.

I bought my a Samsung RS-261MDWP model # refrigerator about 3 years ago from Best Buy. It has been a nightmare. Within the first 6 months I had 5-7 service calls. Thank God I purchased the extended warranty. The ice maker went out, the display board stopped working, they had to replace the motherboard, and a couple other things. Finally, after about 3 months of nonsense and not getting all the repairs done in a timely fashion, I was so fed up that I just walked in to Best Buy and demanded they give me another refrigerator. Of course I got the story that it has nothing to do with them and I would have to call Samsung or their Geek Squad department at their toll free number. I demanded to speak with the store manager or someone in corporate. I told them I have had several different men in my house for the past 5-6 months because the 3rd party company they are using for repairs doesnt know what they are doing and keep sending different people which all say its something else every time. I finally got a higher up manager that agreed that this was ridiculous and gave me whole new refrigerator. It wasnt even 6 months before we had to have a service call on that one. I have even ignored some of the other problems just because I dont want to have to keep calling them because they put you through so much. Today I had no choice because it has begun to make so much noise, it gets louder than the television. I will never buy a Samsung again. It also has started to freeze up, meaning it locks us out from getting water or ice so we have to unplug it for about 1 min so it will reboot. I say its possessed.

Ive owned the Samsung Fridge for 28 months and noticed that items in the freezer were thawing out. Called Samsung was given their authorized repair shop. 3 business day wait (Do they have a lot of work?). The coolant chemical Freon was leaking. I tell Samsung this is not normal and they say Well its past warranty so you are on your own. Over $1,000 to repair to the fridge is basically worthless. No sense repairing the existing piece of garbage so I will buy a new one. NEVER NEVER NEVER buy a Samsung. Quality is poor and they will NOT back you up when this problem occurs.

Oven knobs are supposed to be pushed in and turned on. They easily wear to where you can turn them easily without depressing them. Knob controller is poor design, cheaply made. Anytime you access the microwave or cabinet above the stove the knobs on stove are turned on incidentally without knowing it. Have burned several things on stove (plastic dishes, towels). Have come in from bedroom or outside several times with house full of smoke. Have contacted SAMSUNG, they referred me to a repair technician I could pay to have fixed. VERY DANGEROUS!! I purchased an expensive french door Samsung refrigerator with bottom freezer from Lowes. When the refrigerator was less than a year old, I noticed the freezer was frosting up. But then the problem went away only to return a couple months later but this time the whole freezer iced up. Lowes said it was out of warranty so they gave me Samsungs number. A Samsung repairman came out and blamed the problem on not closing the door properly. He defrosted the freezer and after that, the freezer stopped working completely. A second call to Samsung and the same repairman showed up. This time he said to repair it, he would have to weld and refill the freon but that would cause a lot of smoke in the kitchen and there was some risk in bringing in canisters of flammable gas, etc. He wasnt too eager to do the repair and felt the refrigerator should be replaced by Samsung. Given his track record I wasnt confident about this repair. Samsung has refused to replace the refrigerator, pay for the labor to repair it, and send a different repairman. I will never purchase another Samsung product.

In August 16, we bought a Samsung French Door, Bottom Freezer Refrigerator Model RF260BEAESR/AA from Sears. After only 6 weeks, the refrigerator broke down. We contact Samsung for a warranty repair, but it took them 2 trips and 10 days before the unit was working again. During that time, we lost a great deal of food (and it would have been more if not for my wifes planning and ingenuity). For the 10 days that we had no refrigerator, we lived out of coolers filled with ice. When Samsung contacted us to send our expenses that they would cover under the warranty, they initially said that they would pay only $200. Then they said they could cover the full $227.10, or up to $250 due to our inconvenience. Then, they called up and said that they would only cover $160. They said that they wouldnt cover the $60 in ice that kept our food safe for 10 days, because ice is just water and we dont cover water. Unbelievable!

My husband and I purchased a LG French Door Fridge when they first came out
My husband and I purchased a LG French Door Fridge when they first came out. It lasted 3 years, the motherboard died. After much research we purchased a Samsung French Door Fridge model RF266AEWP. As of right now, the noise from the fan in the fridge hitting the accumulated ice is pretty loud. Loud enough that I cannot hear a conversation in the next room. My husband called Samsung in regards to this (after we had defrosted the fridge 4 times since June of 2015) and they said that we would have to have a repair person come in and fix it to the tune of $140.00. Samsung has been aware of this defect since 2005 and has done nothing to rectify the situation. Needless to say I have now joined the thousands of other consumers in a class action lawsuit against Samsung. Now onto the Samsung stove we purchased. We purchased a Samsung stove, had it installed. I did the self-clean cycle on the stove one night and opened it to wipe out the soot that was inside and noticed that on the bottom panel of the stove, the paint had melted. My husband called Samsung and was told to shut the stove off and shut the gas off to it as there was a defect and the house could blow up. HMMMMMM just a little scary. We called Best Buy (where we had purchased the stove) and they were very gracious with us. They told us to come in and pick out another stove. We picked out the 5-burner stove with the large capacity oven and a warming drawer. It was originally $2500 when we first saw it but was on sale for $1500. I guess we should have seen the red flag when the price was reduced by $1000. But we bought that one to replace the defective Samsung stove. Well about 8 months ago we kept getting an error of E08. I googled the error and Samsung advised you to shut off the circuit breaker or unplug the stove. So now every time we get the error, I have to pull the stove out from the wall and unplug the stove. Needless to say, in the future we will NOT be purchasing any more Samsung products. I cannot understand why they are rated so high.

Water is leaking out from under the bottom drawer (freezer). Ice is accumulating around the freezer door where the rubber meets the plastic. Cant figure out actually where water is coming from. After reading all of the comments on this board, this appears to be a problem others are experiencing. It sounds as if there is no help from Samsung. My ref is out of warranty. I bought model RS267 LBSH side by side in May 08 from Lowes. Right off, the ice maker never worked properly and we were blown off by repair (it never dispensed cubed ice and will block up with big chunks). Digital temperature reading seemed to be off. At times, things in the freezer were frozen rock hard and at other times almost soft. Reading the complaints, we should have bought an in fridge temp checker as I know the temps were fluctuating a lot although the in door reading showed a constant 0 and 38 degrees. Today, the unit quit cooling, but the door temps still read normal. We would not have known until the next morning except that hubby went into the freezer for a popsicle and they were melting. We threw stuff in the chest freezer, and put fridge stuff outside since its in the 30s here right now. I tried all the troubleshooting (what little I could find) from the Samsung site and nothing worked. After going through the complaint, I feel lucky we got 3 1/2 years before the 60 degree mark. Now, Im trying to decide whether to trash our good looking but problem prone fridge and buy another. Im not sure I want to pay for iffy repairs if we can even find anyone here that will work on them. Its the first time I have ever had a major appliance quit working like that so young in its age. This makes me never want to buy another Samsung product again. So Im now researching for more reliable fridge brands.

This Samsung Model RF26XAEWP refrigerator is 5 years old and has a constant problem with noise. The compressor was replaced after 1.5 years and the problem still continues. Ice always builds up on the back of the refrigerator, water collects at the bottom under the veggie drawers and the cycle continues. Ive added an extended service contract on this refrigerator and gets looked at now every three months with the same problem. I just spent 6 hours defrosting this self defrosting refrigerator and got 8 cups of water out of it. No water leaking, just ice build up. After it was completely defrosted I plugged it back in and the noise continues. It will do this until the repairman shows and then it will stop. Samsung cannot make good refrigerators or repair them. Our Samsung RF220N refrigerator was delivered by Best Buy in May 2014. It failed in August 2018. It is now February 2019, and we are into month 6 of the warranty process, without satisfaction. Samsung Authorized repair people determined that the sealed refrigeration system had failed. This was 4 years and 4 months into the 5-year warranty for the closed system. The authorized repair people tried 4 times to repair the system with OEM parts. Each time it has failed within 36 hours. One set of OEM parts from Samsung arrived already broken inside the shipping box. The authorized service company has declared the refrigerator not-repairable using Samsungs own process, yet Samsung will not authorize a replacement or reimbursement, as provided by their own warranty.Samsung Customer Service prevaricates, obfuscates, misdirects, and does not return promised calls/texts/emails. They regularly deny my fridge is under warranty, despite my repeated submission of documentation. I have never spoken to the same person twice, and I suspect they use pseudonyms so contact info can be lost. They deny receiving my emails, and texts, and routinely claim that the last Customer Service person I talked to did not make any notes in the file. They have changed my claim ticket number 8 times. By the bye, the current number is in the 5 billion, 120 millions. That is over 16 claim numbers for every person in the US. At 8 numbers Ive fallen behind the national average. I suspect Samsung is delaying my claim until the warranty period has expired, and then they will deny all responsibility whatsoever. Our extended family has had several other Samsung devices fail: clothes washer, clothes dryer & DVD player. Need I mention the flammable self-combusting cell phones? Fortunately we never had the ice maker in this fridge connected to our plumbing, or we would likely have been in the claims process after only 1 year. Maybe we were unfortunate in that we might have ditched this faulty device long ago. I sincerely believe that a $1500 refrigerator should last longer than my electric toothbrush. We will never buy another Samsung product (yes, we are slow learners). Nevertheless, Never Again.

I purchased a Samsung rf267aers refrigerator 12/01/09. The issue with this unit is the following. We the owners of this unit all (have) the same problem. Lousy design of defrost system allows the defrosted water to freeze in the discharge tube so it overflows into the lower platform under the pull out shelf. When it freezes, it freezes the roller wheel on the bottom of the shelf in the layer of ice and it wont move until you defrost the fridge to the point it releases. There are YouTube videos of how to defrost the coils but Samsung has known about this forever and wont fix it.So every month I remove the bottom tray and remove the built up ice slab. Now I have called samsung several times. Samsungs directions defrost the refrigerator. But even that process DO NOT solve the problem. ONCE unit was turned on again the SAME problem returned. I once inquired to samsung tech people how much it would cost me to fix the problem $700-$800 with NO GUARANTEE. BUT THEY WOULD put the old parts back. Of course I would have to pay for the labor for the install and removal that was about $165-320. Samsung bad NEWS.

Samsung RB194ACW/XAC - I purchased this stylish, freezer on the bottom, Samsung refrigerator in mid-2010. After two weeks, the digital temperature display panel on the front was showing errors in the shape of the numbers and some bars of color were missing. The fridge seemed to be operating okay, but a year and 2 days after purchase, the refrigerator portion of the device began to stop cooling. The temperature readings on the front were whacky-looking and the inside of the fridge was clearly warm and foods began to spoil. The fridge was on and running, but there was no cooling effect. This started on Thanksgiving weekend, with a large family meal on. The freezer (on the bottom of the unit) was still working. A call to Samsung Canada was very unsatisfactory. I was told, curtly, that the refrigerator was past its warranty and they would not help me. The warranty was two days expired. I called the store that sold it to me. No help there either. I paid a private appliance repair company $340.00 to have the sensor repaired and a new temperature digital panel installed. It took 2.5 months for the parts to come in and three visits by a repairperson. The first two digital panels arrived in the wrong color. Today, less than two weeks following the repair, the fridge is again not cooling. The digital panel says it is 4 degrees in the fridge, but its very warm in the fridge and food has again begun to go off. The freezer still works. I removed the back protective panel and found the fridge coils completely iced up and the tiny plastic fan that is supposed to move air over the coils is encased in ice and inoperable.I guess Ive been dealt a lemon. I will not have this fridge repaired again. After reading many identical complaints on this and other sites, I realized that Samsung has produced a refrigerator system that has known functional defects - which they continue to market and sell to unsuspecting customers like me. Ignoring customer complaints and providing no follow-up or interest in customer satisfaction is the Samsung way when it comes to their flawed refrigerator design. I will never purchase another Samsung product as a result.

We have had our Samsung Microwave a little over three years, Model No. SMH9187ST. I noticed it had been getting considerably louder the last six months. It is used by two seniors so it does not get excessive use. The nearest repair service for us was 40 miles from our house. They would come to our home to diagnose the problem for $70. We could take it to their service store, and they would charge us $35 to diagnose problem. We were already quite sure it was the magnetron. The manual said it had a 10 year warranty. When taking down our microwave, we found that it had a broken grill. We had never had it apart so we assumed that is how we received it. The fee to repair our microwave was $175.99 (with the part under warranty). We paid in the $300 range for this microwave. The Samsung salesman did not advise us that we were buying a disposable appliance. A bit concerning for us, as at the time we purchased the microwave, we bought the rest of the kitchen appliances... all Samsung.

We have talked to Samsung customer reps who told us it was cosmetic and not covered under our warranty. The repairman even told them it was not our fault. But, this did not help our plight. Will not buy anything Samsung ever again. We asked to have them replace our rusty door. Of course this did not happen.

DW80F600UTS - We purchased a new dishwasher in August of 2014 but it was not installed until the house was completed in January of 2015. Not only does this dishwasher take over two hours to cycle through, it has NEVER cleaned the dishes. We basically have to wash the dishes before we use it and then use it on the heavy and sanitize cycles. It has become a very expensive dish-drying rack! We have contacted Samsung numerous times and have had a technician here twice. They can find nothing wrong with the machine. According to Samsung it is working within specifications. Apparently dishes with baked on food is acceptable to Samsung. I complained all the way up to the presidents office and was basically told that if another technician came out and found nothing wrong, we would have to pay for the service call. Whatever you do, do not buy a Samsung dishwasher. It is a POS.

I purchased a set of 4 Samsung kitchen appliance in August. Shortly we found out that the food in the refrigerator freezes and the freezer’s ice maker stopped dispensing ice. Since it was 2 weeks since we bought it, I went to the Home Depot where we bought them to exchange it, but they stated that they will only return or exchange on the first three days and that we have to contact Samsung to repair it which it didn’t make me happy to hear that knowing that they don’t stand behind the products they sell. The manager said if Samsung attempts to fix it three times and the issue still not fixed then they will change it. So, I called Samsung and they started a ticket. Since then, it has been 2 months and several trips by the Samsung’s repairman, they were able to fix the ice maker, but the fridge still freezes the food and now when opening and closing the door the whole fridge makes a loud squeaking sound. On the last trip, the repairman contacted Samsung and stated that they have changed all parts they could, and the issue is still there. Samsung viewed the temperature difference and frozen food through a video conference with the repairman. They stated that it is the way that fridge is designed and do not put food in the back of refrigerator. I could not believe what I heard, and the repairman stated that he has done what he could. He wrote the report and left. In disbelief, I called Samsung customer service. The person helping me could not even access the ticket number to see the history and kept on trying to schedule a repair. When I asked to speak to a manager, somehow, she found a way to view the repair history and stated that she is noting the issue and a manager from the refund and exchange will contact me on Monday. So far no one has contacted me. We have been a Samsung family so far from our phones to TV, appliance etc. but starting to look into other manufacturers as the product quality and service is not there anymore. I hope they resolve this issue soon as possible as I cannot use my brand-new refrigerator. I try not to put food in it, because I have to through them away after a day.

We bought our refrigerator about 2 years ago from Lowes. We too were told they were good refrigerators. Within 6 months, the seal around the freezer came loose and the glass on the meat door cracked. We had to pay for the meat door but the seal was under warranty. Then we kept getting water under the meat tray and sometimes it would be a thick sheet of ice. We thought we were opening the door too much or something. Then one day it started making this loud grumbling sound, like it was going to rattle right out the door. Afraid it would get ruined we turned it off and called a repairman. He had just recently had the same problem with another customer so knew right away what the problem was.The coils, fan, and behind the whole back cover was all ice. The drain was also frozen so the water was running into the bottom of the meat drawer. He had to blow dry it to get the back cover off, then blow dry the drain and the coils. That was a month ago. Today we had to call him back. He again had to thaw out the back panel and the upper right fan had over an inch of ice around it. He said he thought the fan and coils were too far away from the heating element to efficiently thaw the ice and it just builds up. Having read these concerns of others regarding the same problems, I think Samsung has the responsibility to figure out a way to resolve this problem. We have all paid too much money on what we thought would be a quality product to only pay out more for repairmen who tells me this will be a recurring problem.

I called Samsung immediately to make sure I received refund. To sum it up: After 22 phone calls, countless claim #s, XPO confirming they have the fridge still at warehouse. Samsung has NOT fulfilled the paperwork to recognize proper return/refusal to XPO thus 18 days later I have yet to receive my refund. This morning I was told by a Samsung supervisor we have millions of orders, it is your job to keep checking on your refund status, there is nothing I can do and hung up. Went to Lowes, where I bought it, and showed them pictures. They immediately replaced the bad one. It is 11 months later and I have the same problem, cracked cooktop. The 4 door refrigerator was quite expensive and has a great look, but it continually drips water from the ice-maker opening. Apparently I am not the only one that has had this problem. Im entirely appalled at the prospect of my 4-year old, my 7-year old, and I drinking ice water that has plastic and metal particles and pieces in it. At this point, I am not even sure how long we have been drinking contaminated product. My refrigerator is right around 3.5 years old, so it is not under parts warranty any longer, but I am confused as to why there hasnt been a recall on these icemakers? Another consumers review fits my situation exactly besides the timeline of events. I would also like to know the composition of the materials that were being sloughed off into our drinks. I just found this problem today and Samsung Customer Service is trying to make me buy new parts and pay for installation. My main concern is for my health and the health of other consumers, and in my opinion, there needs to be a recall for these ice makers and some sort of compensation due. Not just a, Well, your warranty is up, so here pay more money for some parts that probably wont fix the issue. No thank you. We purchased a Samsung RF263 in 2011 side by side doors with bottom freezer. Within a few months various parts of the interior began to crack, annoying for such an expensive refrigerator but not fatal. The real problems began when the ice maker began to malfunction. It got so bad that we had it repaired outside of the main warranty this past May and it worked fine for about 8 or 9 weeks and started to malfunction again. After speaking with Samsung today the contracted repair company said that I would have to pay for a new repair to the unit because it was 93 days since the original (outside the 90 day window). Samsung, when I called back were no help at all and of course hid behind their policies. I explained to them and to the repair company that I didnt feel it was fair to have to pay for a repair twice, when the original repair was obviously inadequate. I would recommend never buying a Samsung refrigerator as they are not well made for the price and their customer service is designed to give as little to the consumer as possible. Also, I would advise purchasing an extended warranty on a refrigerator that you pay over $1500 for as one repair costs more than the warranty itself.

The mechanic who attended our call called on us and told us that the thermostat was not working and has to be replaced and that it will okay in a weeks time. We waited patiently for ten days and called the service center. We were told that the spare part has not come. Now, it is beyond three months and our refrigerator is standing and crying helplessly. I purchased a new Samsung refrigerator, RS265TDWP, on 8/20/2012 from my local Best Buy and I did not purchase the extended warranty on it. It stopped cooling the refrigerator section on 3/10/2016, 3 years and 6 months old and in less than 24 hours box went from 34* to 54* causing me to scramble to save contents and make plans for service/repairs heading into the weekend. I called the phone number inside the refrigerator which stated it was for factory guaranteed repairs or accessories and did receive prompt response from whoever they were on the East Coast. However the local repair service they told me would be contacting me in 24-72 hours on the West Coast to perform repairs had a number of not so favorable reviews when I researched them online locally. Being out of warranty and with no extended warranty I knew I would be responsible for all repair cost. After thinking about the reviews for about 5-6 hours on a Friday afternoon I went another direction. I had another repair service person working on my refrigerator by 5:30 that evening and he told me the story of the notoriously lousy Samsung Refrigerator saga regarding this problem. His comment prior to starting, frozen evaporation fan, frozen coils, etc., etc. Findings once began work, evaporation fan motor frozen stuck, evaporation coils frozen over, insulation saturated (ruined), unit needs manual defrosting, back panel unit needs replacing. Because he sees this all the time, he stocked Samsung back panel in his service vehicle, good for me I guess, at least I did not have to wait another week for parts to come. He had job completed in about an hour and repairs totaled $411.09. Buyer Beware the internet is full of similar stories regarding Samsung refrigerators and this freezing over problem. Many have been a class action lawsuit filed against Samsung for this. My suggestion, do not buy Samsung Refrigerators without doing your homework and really investigating this issue.

I purchased Samsung Chef Collection refrigerator around Nov/Dec of 2014. Best looking refrigerator at the time. Paid over $4000. Well, I must say, it does look good, but where is the bases of the GOOD REFRIGERATOR? I wonder. Reason being is that, the ICE MAKER has been giving me problem about 9 months into use. Ice would not come out, so I tried to pull the ice basket off. It was stuck and could not remove it. Called warranty service, then it was close to being expired. Tech came and fixed it, then month later it was doing it again. Seems to me that when ice is being produced, the water splashes along the wall and it freezes the mechanism around it. When tech came, he had to turn off the refrigerator and use the steamer to melt around it. Another problem that I am experience is when ICE is being dispensed, only CRUSHED ICE will come out. So, I guess entire ICE MACHINE is just a JUNK after all. I would not recommend you getting this unit. I should have listen to the sales person, because, he did say, Samsung has weak ICE Machine, but didnt warn me enough. (He should have said, ICE MACHINE is a some Piece of **.) I hope they will do recall on this unit or replace it at no cost. Better yet, they better come out with better ICE MACHINE Technology that will simply produce ICE.

We purchased a refrigerator on July 29 2017 MODEL RF26HFENDSR/AA and started having noise problems shortly thereafter. This purchase was for a property we were retiring to and we were not there all the time for the first 7 months. Once we moved in there we noticed loud banging noises coming from the fridge at random times. These noises were so loud they woke us in the night.I initially called Samsung about this in early June of 2018. They sent a technician out but the sound did not happen while he was here. As we were in a remote area it took over 4 weeks to get him to come out. After this I was constantly on the phone trying to find out what they would do next and they finally asked me to send them an audio file of the sound. Which I did. They in turn sent it to Samsung and Samsung tells me this was normal. I called them several times after that and then in Oct they refused to even talk to me as they said it was now not in warranty. At that time I pointed out that the problem was there before the warranty was out and they said it didnt matter it was not their problem now. At that point I called Lowes where I purchased the fridge as I had a 4 year extended warranty with them. They sent the same company out again and the Technician was here all of 10 minutes, changed a setting on the fridge and left. This did not solve the problem. After numerous calls to both Lowes and the repair company of Lake City furnishings in Williams lake they finally came back with an email from Samsung saying that the noise was something that happens to only a few fridges and will disappear after 1 or possibly more than 2 years. This is not an acceptable resolution to me and I feel I have wasted countless hours on the phone with Samsung, Lake City and Lowes to no proper resolution.

In May, 2016 we purchased a Samsung Microwave Model # ME16H702SES/A... and the rest of the number is not visible due to the fire which burned off the serial number and part of the model number. I suspect the fire started due to electrical arcing between the microwave housing and the door, because I had that on another model six years ago, and the arcing started while the unit was not being used. The fire started in October 2016 and we contacted Home Depot Canada, the vendor. They took the information and said someone from Samsung would be coming to look at the damage and by the middle of November 2016 no one had come. We called Home Depot again and they told us to contact Samsung Canada for help. We did so, and on December 2, 2016 we received an email from Meyson **, asking us for a copy of the store receipt and photographs of the damaged area. On December 14 I sent the photographs, also asking him to confirm the receipt of the information. He replied the same day stating he had not received the photographs, I sent them again the same day, both times I sent them, there was no negative feedback from the email system, and this indicates the emails had gone through. On December 23 I had not received a reply from Meyson ** so I emailed him again indicating the length of time it was taking to acknowledge and repair this product, and heard nothing from him.December 27, I called the Samsung Canada Specialty Group (where Meyson ** works) and he wasnt available so we described the problem to another support person, they said in order to help us they required an order number. Obviously they didnt know the difference between an order number and a ticket number. After 30-35 minutes on the phone with a few individuals, it was useless going forward. We called Home Depot again asking for the appliance rep in the store where we purchased the unit and he was on vacation. At this point there is little use in pursuing this through the Customer Support area so we will file an incident with the Better Business Bureau and the CSA Group since we have had more success with the CSA in the past than the vendor.

We purchased a suite of samsung appliances to upgrade our kitchen. We have had problems with literally every piece. Never again. We have the DMT800RHS. This dishwasher has never dried acceptably since day one. It usually leaves food particles. We have learned to inspect dishes as we remove them. We have a perpetual drying mat on the counter. We leave the door slightly ajar when not in use to keep the unit dry. It seems to cut down on the odors. We run a vinegar clean cycle every other month to keep the drains clean. This seems to have solved the intermittent drain code problem. We wipe the seal with a rag every week to prevent sludge build up and seal leaks. My 20 year old car requires less maintenance. After reading many of these reviews I almost feel fortunate. We now have the rack handles dissolving. It seems like the detergent (or possible the vinegar cleaning required for the odor problem) has broken down the rubber to the point it is flaking off and sticking to the dishes. We took a scrapper and removed as much as we could. Hope some of these tips may help some of you get by until you can replace this horrible appliance. Just never again...
