We purchased a $1200 dishwasher from Samsung in August 2014. After 1 month
We purchased a $1200 dishwasher from Samsung in August 2014. After 1 month it began breaking down and coming up with error messages which stopped it from running. Every time we called it took them 2 weeks to come out. By November they had been out 5 times and I was demanding a replacement. Id spent 4 months hand washing all my dishes. They came out and replaced it and things seemed fine before I saw water and suds streaming out of the bottom of the dishwasher on to my hardwood floors. As it was less than 1 year, I had to call Samsung. They insisted it was out of Warranty I needed to talk to the provider of the extended service even though the receipt was dated August 16. I called them and they sent me back to Samsung, who didnt seem to have any paperwork with our dates despite the fact that they had been to our house. They didnt care that there is most likely water under the dishwasher on the wood flooring. We havent heard yet from a repair person 24 hours later. I will never buy another piece of equipment from Samsung. Their quality and service is the worst Ive ever experienced.

In late 2011 we bought the SMH1816W microwave to match the fridge purchased on the basis of a top rating from a consumer magazine, and the matching stove, dishwasher, washer and dryer at the same time. Not only was the consumer magazine wrong about the fridge, the microwave, dishwasher and washer all have issues or needed repairs. So far (knock on wood) the dryer and range havent broken. The microwave had to be repaired twice for the same problem which ended up costing $50 more than the price we originally paid for it. The fridge was replaced three times before Samsung finally admitted a manufacturing issue that caused the water line to the icemaker to freeze. A new freezer door was eventually installed with the corrected water line. The dishwasher drain pump failed after two years, and the washer is rusting at the bleach dispenser and detergent/softener holder. Once again Samsung claimed no responsibility. We live in a low humidity area (desert) so its not possible that we caused the problem. Not only has it been costly for repairs, but we wasted close to a hundred hours dealing with Samsung. Their support is abysmal, they make it as difficult as possible to even communicate with them - then all you get are stock answers. Requests to escalate to Executive Customer Relations are ignored, or delayed to the point you can do without your broken appliance and end up paying yourself. Samsung is by far the worst company Ive dealt with in 50 years, and as far as major appliances they have the worst quality of any we have ever purchased.Updated 10/22/2016: Of course, now our washer is listed as one of the models that can blow up during the spin cycle, response from Samsung - wash large loads on delicate only. We are taking bets on whether it falls apart from rusting or spinning first! Microwave - dead again - this time we are replacing it with another brand - Samsung quality is non-existent, support is useless. Bottom line, they have sacrificed quality and support for a quick profit, and will lose millions of customers because of this.

We bought this double range in 2014. On Jan of 2017 we were moving the range to have a new floor put in. When the floor was done we moved the range back to where it was and plugged it in. When we did this it blew the breaker. We then shut off the electric and checked the range. We could smell smoke from the back of the range. We took the back of the power cover off and found the black plastic clamp that holds the wire to the power cord let go and the wires hit the cover and shorted out the range. I was told that there was nothing that could be done. I feel this is a serious safety issue and it could cause serious problems or fire. Will not buy another.

The first error code (LC) happened about 4 weeks after install. A week wait for a tech, claimed no problem. Happened again about 5 weeks later. Again, no issue found. Happened again - replaced a part. Happened again. You get the picture. Sent a complaint directly to Samsung in May 2018 requesting replacement of faulty machine (Dishwasher 80M9 series). Was told they had only received ONE repair notice from us (we had logged in SEVEN at that point - since WE hadnt paid for any of the service calls, I have to assume Samsung did!). They sent someone out to repair AGAIN. Happened again in June. JUST had repair here to replace two parts - he was 5 minutes away from the house and it happened yet again. HORRIBLE company to deal with. This should truly be a no star review.

I have a 9 year old two door fridge, which when working is a great design. I find it hard to get a repair person to resolve a long-term noise in the fan. I now resort to using my hair-dryer blowing into the vents and this seems to de-ice the fan and hence the noise abates for a few months. Also sometimes the water dispenser decides not to dispense water... ugh! I am frustrated but these items cost a bomb, so I havent replaced it yet.

Two years ago I bought a Samsung kitchen suite. Within the first few months my ice maker on the fridge went out and the dishwasher motherboard had to be replaced. We have had constant issues with the dishwasher. It does not stop running so we have to unplug it. Service is coming again and I have had enough. I want a new dishwasher that works properly. Did I happen to say that it is only two years old? Samsungs customer service is in India and they are no fun to deal with. When I asked them to replace it they said talk to the Best Buy WHERE I bought it from. Best Buy said to call Samsung for a replacement. NO ONE IS TAKING RESPONSIBILITY FOR A BAD PRODUCT. DO NOT BUY SAMSUNG APPLIANCES EVER!!!!

I made a terrible mistake and bought a Samsung refrigerator from Costco. Error beeping right off the bat for an open door that wasnt open. Adjusted the doors and checked that the reed sensors were aligned, but same message. Called Samsung technical support who had no answers, but they would dispatch a technician late the following week. Meanwhile about $500 in food spoiled on our counter and their customer care team did zero to help. Please save yourself the anguish of having a day thats supposed to be exciting after dropping 2k on an appliance turn into a nightmare. These people can barely do cell phones right, why did I think they could manufacture a fridge properly.

Bought the French door with freezer at the bottom. Ill keep this short and to the point. Replaced the top ice maker 6 times and replaced lower ice maker 2 times. Top ice maker stopped working 2 times within a couple of weeks of being replaced. Thank God for buying extended warranty. Called Samsung twice directly and they brushed me off and seemed not to care about issues they have with their ice makers. Referred me back to warranty company. Not sure what we will do when warranty expires. Do not buy this refrigerator. You will be disappointed and if you do make the poor decision to buy Samsung refrigerator buy extended warranty.

Mine stopped working right after the one year warranty expired and has the flashing lights. Called a local appliance repair guy and he told me he does not repair Samsung. Why? Because they keep breaking down and he has to keep coming back to replace parts at his cost. Customers think it’s his fault, but after reading this blog, we all know the problem is Samsung. My other Samsung appliances are not great either. I just purchased a new highly rated Kenmore from Sears. After checking Consumer Reports, Samsung has the worst frequency of repairs of all brands. Stay away from Samsung and don’t listen to salespeople. Do your own research first and buy a dependable brand. Anybody want to buy a lightly used dishwasher? LOL.

Cost about $2800. Pros: great energy savings, LED light, very well lighted inside and good use of space. Cons: The drawers are not seamless so food, spilled juices, spilled sauces flows into the seams and will NEVER come clean. The glass shelves are not seamless and the same issue with cleaning is the result. The Ice maker worked great for the 1st year after which it continuously leaks water down the front of the door and makes a high pitch whining noise 24/7. Samsung will not warranty the ice maker. The French doors do not open all the way so it is a real struggle pulling out the drawers and shelves. Recommendation: NEVER purchase a Samsung fridge... EVER AGAIN.

Appalled by the way Samsung and Lowe’s have treated me. My brand-new Samsung electric range did not work properly from day one! After multiple calls speaking with agents who attempted to have ME fix the issues while they were on the phone, Samsung reluctantly sent a service repairman to my home. C & E Appliances sent someone who admitted they knew Nothing, about cooking. The first thing he did was blame me for buying a stove which offered the rapid boiling option! Secondly, he snidely stated, I bet you never read the manual to your stove. Both statements were untrue! I bought this stove as part of an appliance package. I purchased them for various reasons, but NOT one included rapid boiling. I have read the manual many, many times and worked with Samsung employees to fix the issues. The repairman explained that other people were having similar issues with baking; especially bread and cakes. He stated he didnt know anything about baking. He also told me he didnt know anything about simmering! According to the stove’s manual simmering occurs when your knob is placed on Low. (See pg. 35) My stove will not simmer, and my oven does not bake evenly. Since the repairman did not know why I needed to simmer I explained a few things about some of my favorite recipes. Most of them require simmering at a specific temperature. “Simmering cooks the food gently and slowly, allowing it to maintain its structure in ways that are impossible with boiling.”C & E’s repairman advised me to preheat my oven for an extra 15 minutes prior to baking. He also said I should bring my rice to a boil on one burner, transfer the pot to another burner and turn the knob below the Low setting to simmer. I have lots of photos to prove his advice did NOT work. Samsung drew my complaints out with self-help fixes which did not work. Soon after the first serviceman left Samsungs 1-year warranty expired. Based on the recommendation of Lowes salesperson, I had purchased a 5-year extended warranty, which turned out to be worthless. Lowes sent me the exact same man to look at my stove! The warranty clearly states if Lowe’s or Samsung can’t fix it they will replace it. I have taken this matter as far as any of your companies’ phone systems will allow. Promises from those claiming to be corporate managers have been broken.A 2nd repairman came out to investigate. He checked the brand-new pots I had purchased for my brand-new stove and they were fine. He had absolutely no idea what was wrong and suggested I use the back burners to simmer, or the warming center. Neither is possible. The smaller burners in the back are not large enough to simmer soups, stews, sauces or rice. According to the manual, and common sense, the pot or “Pan should not hang over the element by more than one-half inch.” (See pg. 37.) The temperature on the small warming center is not high enough to simmer, nor is the element big enough to accommodate a larger size pan. (See pg. 50.) I made a formal complaint to the BBB concerning C & E Appliance. Preparing a formal complaint to BBB for Lowes and Samsung.

We purchased a RS277 Samsung refrigerator with french doors. And added a 5 year warranty to be safe. The transaction set us back more than $2,000. Right after the end of the warranty both the refrigerator and freezer parts stopped cooling. I woke up one morning and the temperature was 75 degrees inside the unit resulting in food spoilage. Samsung wants $147 to come and look at it. I see that a lot of reviewers are complaining about the same problem, along with complaints about cheap plastic parts which we have experienced as well. We will not even spend $1 on this appliance. Samsung will not stand behind their products and consider cracked plastic parts user abuse!!! Every previous refrigerator we have owned has lasted at least 10 years. Sad that we have to dispose of a refrigerator that looks like new!!

There are numerous reviews of this unit stating that the stove burner knobs are poorly designed and can easily be turned on by casually bumping into them. I can attest that this is true. This is why we remove the knobs from the stove when not in use. However, it appears that my unit (NE58F9710WS), with knobs removed, turned on spontaneously and caused a small fire with paper items that were on the stove. There was nobody home at the time, and the damage caused by the fire was minimal. My range hood must be replaced, and smoke damage occurred throughout my home. It could have been much, much worse. So far, Samsung has been cooperative and has agreed to repair the unit and cover the costs of the damage to my home. I hope Samsung takes these claims seriously and provides an updated design that is less likely to cause fires.

This series DW80F600 dishwasher showed signs of high temperature heating errors when it was only 10 months old. We called support and were told that it would cost a certain amount ($273.43 to be exact) to have someone come and look at the machine. Just look at it, not fix it! WE went ahead and had them look at the problem and of course, the part needed wasnt under any sort of warranty. Now just over a year old and we are are stuck with a $498.75 bill for a machine that still doesnt work. The error lights came back on the very next day! We could have purchased a brand new dishwasher for much less and gotten much better results. I am warning all who think purchasing this machine, to rethink that plan!! This is the worst dishwasher on the market.

I purchased all new appliances for my kitchen about 5 years ago and chose Samsung. That was a huge mistake. I had to replace the microwave after about 3 years. The refrigerator is now the thorn in my side. About every 60 to 90 days I am having to turn it off and completely defrost it due to freezing around the fan. This has been a horrible experience and I will never buy another Samsung appliance. Reading all the reviews online it appears this is a huge problem nationwide. Im sorry, its not like me to even write something negative. However, my family has been poisoned because of Samsungs malfunctioning refrigerator. The digital readout is not accurate in displaying the actual temperature of the refrigerator. Bacteria starts to grow on perishables at any temperature above 40 degrees. Upon me serving food, it read 34. This was while it was under-warranty and all you did was pay for the Parts ha. Since then, this refrigerator has not worked by freezing up once a month at least for the long 6 years Ive owned it. I firmly intend on continuing to get word out regarding this as I am a very experienced enterprise digital marketer. Dont worry, Ill keep the audience within the United States. You poisoned my family, put a band-aid on a broken fridge and it never ever worked properly. Nice job Samsung. Maybe, fridges arent your thing. If you drop that product line, Samsung may even see a spike in revenue as many people and families have been poisoned in the same way and the unanimous audience of Samsung Refrigerator owners will all feel relieved.

Bought unit (Samsung over the range microwave model SMH1622B) in Dec. 2014. Lately when I put something into it, as soon as I close the door, the light inside it comes on and the turntable starts spinning. It does not stop if I press the stop/clear button. The only way to stop it is to open the door. If I press the stop/clear button while the door is open it does nothing, as the unit starts up again as soon as I close the door. The ONLY thing that stops this is if I open the door, press the 1 {1 second} button, close the door, and then press start. The unit then cooks for 1 second, and finally shuts off.

To Tim Baxter or anyone else that cares about Samsungs reputation and how their terrible customer service and falsely advertised products, dont settle well with the consumer. I am at my wits end with your company and its appalling customer service! For 4 months now Ive tried to get your company to take ownership for a refrigerator it sold us, that claimed to offer a Flex Zone with 4 temp settings, all the way down to -1 Celsius. Tim, we both went to High-school at took basic science classes, but the techs and people in your Office of the President all seem to have either not taken the class or failed it. My wife and I have had food spoiling in that drawer for months, because it will NOT freeze as it should given that 0 degrees Celsius is freezing, therefore anything colder that zero is at least capable of freezing. Well nothing freezes in that drawer. Ive had 3 service people come out, who all are being told the same thing from Samsung that I am being told, which is that the refrigerator works as it should. Tim, please explain to me how its working as it should when food does not freeze in a drawer that offers a -1 degree Celsius setting. Your office of the president, at 888-480-5675 and Loshanda at extension **, has ignored 7 messages I have left for her with the receptionist, and two voicemails. She literally has decided to blow me off. The last time she called me, before Thanksgiving, she told me that Mr. ** its not supposed to freeze, since -1 degrees Celsius is also 29 degrees Fahrenheit, therefore its 29 degrees above freezing... I was without a reply for a few minutes. How do you politely tell a person that they dont know that Celsius and Fahrenheit both measure temperatures, and that -1 Celsius and 29 Fahrenheit are the same below freezing temperature. After Loshandas obvious failure to care to call me back anymore, because she believes its working fine, I called and asked for a supervisor in your Office of the President. Ive been told twice there is no such thing, that I just have to leave a message for Loshanda to call me back. I’ve done that once a week for 7 weeks. I’m exhausted and utterly disgusted with the horrible service from your company. I dont know which is worse, that your techs believe -1 degrees Celsius is not supposed to freeze the food, or that your Office of the Preside could care less at this point, after my wife and I have lost hundreds of dollars in food that has gone bad, Ive wasted hours with techs coming out telling me the same thing, and more hours on the phone talking to your general Samsung support line that offers no help but to suggest I have yet another tech come out, who will waste all our time again. Tim, my wife and I own thousands of dollars in merchandise from you all, from phones, to BluRay players, to TVs etc. Is this how I should be treated? I want Loshanda at least reprimanded or at best fired, and I want and deeply hope for your help in resolving this matter. Your refrigerator does not do as it was sold to do, its that simple. And I need this fixed. Please Tim. Ive left voicemails for others in your Office of the President, they too have ignored me.

I just had delivered a Samsung side-by-side counter depth fridge. The ice maker took 3 days to make ice to fill the holder on the door. Water drips from the spout when you fill a glass with water. I have only had this fridge 3 days. The ice maker seems to be an issue with every model Samsung makes. I called customer service three times. I talked to even a supervisor that was not able to resolve my issue. Customer service does not know the operation of their products and had me on hold forever. I was told by a friend that owns the same model that the ice maker produces 7 ice cubes every 90 minutes, which explains why it took 3 days to fill. I also read the same information on a website. I took out the service plan after the 1-year warranty is over. Having to deal with Samsung has been nothing but a waste of time and a huge headache. I am still scratching my head wondering why they are rated the number one fridge on the market. I had an 18-year-old GE that I would gladly take back. It never had one issue. I just wanted to update my kitchen with stainless steel. I would never buy another Samsung appliance.

Samsung fridge leaks water inside freezer, so there’s always a layer of ice under the crisper. Known problem, hundreds of reviews, but Samsung will do nothing to resolve. Additionally, Samsung changed the design of their fridge water filters. Faulty design, they don’t fit - see hundreds of reviews. Transferred numerous times, dropped call, and foreign reps that barely speak English. Samsung refuses to accept a return because it has been more than 14 days of receipt of the defective filters. Really? Like I’m going to remove a good water filter from my fridge to check if the new one will fit? We will never buy another Samsung product.

My wife and I decided to purchase all new appliances for our remodeled kitchen. We purchased the Samsung black stainless Fridge, microwave, range, and dishwasher. First of all the microwave (ME21K7010DG), at first it would input 777 on the display by itself, then one night I woke up and the blower was on high, then on another night I woke up the the microwave heating up on its own. Lowes had sent out a contractor three different time and replaced the door, it would work fine for a short time. Then after contacting Samsung on several different occasions, they keep telling me to unplug the unit and plug it back in. That did work for a few months but now it is turning on again. Finally, I decided to replace the microwave on my own dime as I am not willing to wait for Samsung to make this right. It isnt worth having my home burn down.As for the range, (NE58K9500SG) The front control knobs dont have a locking feature, I have had several times when someone would but the knob and the heating element would turn on. We dont have young kids so it really isnt an issue for use but if you do have small kids I dont recommend this range. As for the rest of the items, we havent had any issues so far.

Ok this will be a bit long: I got my kitchen remodeled Nov 2020. Purchased all 5 Samsung appliances, from Best Buy. Had issue with every one except the microwave which we dont use much of. I have been on hold for Samsung Case managers for over 2 1/2 hrs. So I figured I would kill time by leaving this review so no one else will have to go thru what I have, and currently am going thru. My issues started about 2 mos of installation. First issue was my cooktop. Kept giving out error code and wouldnt turn on. Then it wouldnt turn off. At the same time my ice maker was freezing over and wouldnt dispense ice. The ice maker issue got resolved, then I realized my refrigerator was freezing my food, noticed it with my eggs. Tech came and repaired, but happened again. Called Samsung pro talked to customer service, who tried to provide the best care they are able to, but they cant make any decisions. Because its been serviced 3 times I have the option to get my refund or replace the refrigerator. I opted to get a refund cause I dont want to take any more chances with Samsung products. I had to submit a receipt along with the ticket #. After the third attempt I was finally told that they can escalate it from customer service to a Case Manager. Unfortunately these Case Managers are hard to get a hold of. This process began November 17, 2021. Today is December 2, 2021. I was first told a case manager was going to contact me within 3-4 business days, I get no calls, no emails then on November 30th I get a short generic email stating that they made several attempts to contact me and if I can call them back at 1-800-Samsung at my earliest convenience. As soon as I got the email I called 1-800-Samsung and got customer service who informed me that the department they need to transfer me to is closed. I asked her if she can send them an email and have them call me, because I did not receive any calls from them, I had no miss calls, no messages, she said she did, still no calls or emails. Today I have the day off so here I am typing this review, still on hold 3 hrs later. I live in Hawaii and their office hours are 9-9 EST. I am grateful I have an extra fridge in the garage to store my things. In addition to my refrigerator issue, I am awaiting a claim ticket for a third service call on my double oven, which has super uneven heating. I am beyond frustrated. So save yourself the frustration and stay away from Samsung. For some reason the newer models are not quality. Doesnt work properly and even though warranty seems to be good on paper, its almost impossible to get thru.

Unit bought new in 2008 - in 2011 water in refrigerator unit - approx. $300 to replace evaporator cover and thaw out. Apparently drain has problem with freezing over, told by repair company that it would not happen again. May 2015 - same problem, this time 450.00 to repair. Wrote to Samsung and they denied any responsibility. Apparently this is a common problem and the fix is not adequate - would not recommend Samsung refrigerators to anyone. Feel Samsung should at least find a suitable fix for this so that consumers only have to fix once.

He said that I had to pay to have a certified rep to come out and if it was under warranty they would pay for that but not the visit. I dont have a rep within 20 miles and I live in Detroit. Home Depot said that they have the worst appliances. I have the stove, refrigerator, microwave, and dishwasher. I wish that I would have done more research. There arent enough characters allowed to explain why I would never buy anything Samsung ever again! The latest in a long nightmare of disgust (after the Blu-ray player that scratched circles in our discs and ruined them), is the fridge (RFG297HDRS) that decided to turn itself into a waterfall water feature in our kitchen overnight. Water was streaming rapidly from the ice maker exactly 15 months after purchase. Fortunately (well, maybe not) we got a store extended warranty because, Samsung itself told us good luck and Godspeed. The authorized Samsung repair people from the warranty company changed the ice maker and left. Two hours later and after business hours, the thing started leaking again (not as bad, but pretty bad once it started). Unrelated to Samsung, the morons at Warrantech wont let you put in a new call for service for 24 hours. Insult added to the injury of this regrettable purchase (all electronics and appliances in our new home are Samsung - I loved their monitors from 10 years ago, but that was when they were scrappy upstarts, not bloated Chinese wannabes), lesson learned. My advice is, avoid these and any store-branded warranty, since youll need it and both are total trash!

Aside from plastic being left under all seals when delivered and being very noisy, the bottom of the freezer has to be defrosted every few weeks when a sheet of ice builds up under the drawers. After a few weeks water slides down the ice floe and leaks onto the floor. We have tile and when its wet it becomes very slippery. Weve complained but finally gave up but this morning my husband slipped on the wet tile. This is a design flaw or defect but it is out of warranty. My bad but thought I should add to the complaints on this site. We have been very satisfied with phones, TVs and such but will never buy another Samsung anything unless this problem is remedied.

We bought a very nice, at least thats what we thought anyway at the time, Samsung Model RF4289HARS French door refrigerator from Home Depot in December of 2011. The ice maker took forever to make ice and it had very little storage. We ran out of ice all of the time and there was only two of us using it. In February of 2014 the ice machine stopped working completely. We had a service man come out and replace the entire front computer portion of the refrigerator that the ice maker was a part of. The cost to replace it was $863.58. Yes, thats right. $863.58 cost to repair an ice maker that was 3 years and 2 months old. Well, guess what. Here it is December of 2017 and the same thing has occurred. No ice maker. Broken again after just 3 years and 9 months after replacing an $863.58 part. Samsung makes a good TV. Their refrigerators are extremely pricing and break down every three years. Never buy a Samsung refrigerator. Buy a good old made in the USA refrigerator that will probably outlive you. Thanks for nothing Samsung.

I purchased a new Samsung microwave/convection oven to mount over my stove about a year and a half ago. Within a month, the touch pad started acting up. Fan and light would come on by themselves. Touch panel would not work. Samsung, via Lowes, was notified, and had the touch pad replaced twice in the next 6 months. The last time, the service technician said that Samsung was aware that particular style of touch panel had a problem in areas where a lot of steam or moisture could be generated. If a microwave over a stove doesnt see a lot of steam, I dont know what will! So, it kept going out. They finally replaced the entire unit about 5 months ago. Now that one is acting up the same way. Wake up in the morning and the stove light and exhaust fan are running on high, and the touch panel is non-responsive. I have to go to the basement and throw the breaker to reset it. This is very aggravating. I am very dissatisfied, and think Samsung should give me a completely new model that works. I will never buy another Samsung microwave oven.

RM255BARB - The ice maker never worked right. It never gave us large ice cubes & ice cubes were mixed with crushed ice. It also stopped up all the time. A service man was called out so many times, I finally gave up. Now the bottom right door (this is a 4 door refrig.) rust started coming out of it. Called to see what is going on. After several phone calls & a visit from repairman on a $2800 refrig., about 7/12 year old machine, it has to be replaced. This is really disgusting because most people cant afford this kind of money every 7 years. I also have a Samsung in my garage as a back up with the freezer pull out drawer and I hate it. It is now freezing the food in the refrigerator part. Why cant these companies get their act together. Samsung needs to stick to electronics. Wish I had read customer reviews from https://www.consumeraffairs.com/homeowners/samsung-stove-oven-range.html before purchasing. On October 15, 2015, we replaced a perfectly good stove top that we had for over 10 years because the oven was broken. We were quite excited to have a working oven, but were quickly disappointed as it was not heating properly. Additionally, the keys on the display were hard to push, the fast boil feature does not work, and the stove top is starting to show signs of cracking from heat (something many consumers are complaining about). A technician had to replace the display, the main board, and two probes on a six month old stove. He needs to come back to fix the fast boil and submitted pictures of the cracks to Samsung Product Review to approve. Samsung claims its aesthetic and wont approve the replacement. If you look at the other complaints, you will see that it eventually cracks completely when you least expected. Our range is less than six months old and already has caused more issues than any of our other appliances that are over 10 years old. I suggest Best Buy take them off the floor. I forecast that Samsung is a range away from a class action lawsuit.

We bought this condo in October. The first time I tried to use the oven (to cook a turkey) I set the oven temperature to 350. Hours later the turkey was barely cooked. I raised the temperature to about 400 and eventually it cooked. I then bought an oven thermometer and used it the next time I wanted to cook something in the oven. To get to 350 degrees I have to set the temperature to 425. To get to 375 I set it to 450 or so. The indicator light indicates the temperature to which Ive set it but the oven doesnt heat up to where Ive set it. Since the range is out of warranty Samsung wants me to call a service technician. What Ive read about this problem online suggests its either the sensor or thermostat thats at fault. Ive asked for the part number for the sensor and thermostat for my model - and they cant even give me that. I dont want to pay for a service call only to be charged labor and an inflated price for the part since my husband is an electrician and can likely do the repair himself at a much lower cost.By the way, this condo came with a Samsung dishwasher and over-the-range microwave oven. The first time we used the dishwasher it didnt work, so we called the only service tech around who deals with Samsung appliances and $115 later he said the repairs would cost about $360 (he admitted the problem here is quite common with the Samsung dishwashers). For about $400 I bought a new Frigidaire dishwasher and have had no problems since. The Samsung microwave oven works but sometimes the same amount of water heats to hot and sometimes just to very warm when set to the same cooking time.My conclusion: Samsung kitchen appliances are absolutely worthless. Our $2323.95 Samsung refrigerator (RFG297HD) was purchased less than 3 years ago. We were under the impression (albeit falsely so) that Samsung products were superior in quality, and that this company stood behind the integrity of its products. NOT!!! We have already had to replace the ice maker and the freezer fan assembly. After speaking to three different phone operators (all of which represented a series of going-through-the-proverbial-policy-motions), I finally was put into the ECR department in hopes of speaking to someone, who had not already been thoroughly programmed into the mechanical answers representing Samsung androidism. Suffice it to say, I hit wall, after wall, after wall after Wall. The only so-to-speak courtesy I was offered was to spend some additional money to buy into another year of protection. Really? I am sorry, but when I spend this kind of money for a product, I expect quality performance for a little longer than two years before it start breaking down, leading me to dig into my pocketbook again. Moreover, to spend additional money for extended warranties on products (i.e. Samsung products) highly suggests that Samsung does not want to be held responsible for its own technical errors or designed failures.

Bought fridge July 1, 2015. Bought extended plan. 9/13/2016 started making motor noise. Repair came 9/21/16, said it was motor. Part has not come in as of 10/31/16. On 10/28/16 freezer stopped working. Lost freezer contents. On 10/30/16, freezer motor and started running again & got cold. Still a loud running noise. Repair cant come out until 11/2/16. But they still have no part. I am very unhappy. I will NEVER purchase another Samsung appliance again. Am letting all my friends know to stay away from them too! Over a month to fix a year old fridge. Unacceptable.

We bought our Samsung dishwasher two years ago and have had problems ever since. The dishwasher stops working and error lights start to flash. We have had it fixed a couple of times and it keep doing the same thing. This product is a piece of junk and not worth the money at all. I would honestly give it -5 stars if that was allowed. Do not buy this product. You would be wasting your money.

This Samsung twin cooling plus is the worst refrigerator ever! Every 5-6 months you have to shut down and defrost it, it freezes up like the refrigerators did back in the 50s! You have to take the whole back of the refrigerator apart to get the coil to defrost which is about 8-10hrs of defrosting! I would never recommend spending 1800.00 for this piece of garbage! They tell me that it is a common problem but offer no fixes! You think for the money spent they would help! But NO.

Our fridge is not 2 years old. Within the warranty period it started making really loud, scare the dogs, popping noises and the water dispenser began dripping. Samsung claimed this was normal. This continued and after 3-4 calls to Samsung with no change in their response the 1 year warranty expired. The ice machine went out 2 days after the warranty expired and we called Samsung once again and were told they needed to send someone out.Service repair company came out and told us this is a known Samsung issue and they wont do anything about it and we would have to purchase an additional warranty to the tune of $475.00 to have this covered. They made what repairs they could and said it would probably not work. Needless to say, the repair did not work and weve had issues with the ice machine and dripping water dispenser for almost 2 years now. Samsung refuses to address this issue. I will never buy a Samsung product again and suggest that no one else does. I have several friends with similar model refrigerators and they have the same frustrating issues.

After 3 years, the Ice machine flapper broke displacing water all over my wooden floor. I called several places for repair and they all did the same thing when I said I had a Samsung, that was to list off many, many things that go wrong with it. It will cost me over $500 to fix a 3 year old refrigerator. I dont want to spend that much money, when I could have a new fridge for $1500.I called Samsung, not to get anything for free but just to ask if they would give me a discount to buy to fridge. Anything to show customer service on a 3 year old fridge. They basically said they wouldnt, they didnt care if I badmouth them, didnt care if I took to social media. They plain didnt give a **. Ill do my best to get the word out there. I will never buy another Samsung product ever again. Buyer beware.

We replaced all of our appliances with Samsung at the same time, this Fridge is the biggest pile of trash, ice maker never works, the cooling coils in the back freeze up, the compressor rattles, and it make Whooing sounds like an owl. When it had a “warranty” even that was a joke, there was always an excuse as to why it was “normal” or a “fix wasn’t available”. Needless to say, and it’s not like they care about one customer anyway, I would never buy this brand again or any brand associated with it.

After six months from date of purchase, the fan would go on by itself. I wasnt using the microwave or the stove and would be in another room. Called for service and the technician said it was a circuit breaker fuse. He told me once he fixed it, it would never happen again. Well, its been a year now and it is happening again. Also when the light under the microwave is on, it will go off and on as the microwave door is opened and closed. The only way I feel this junk is safe is to unplug it when Im not using it. Purchased a Samsung fridge RF217ACBP in June 2011 and have the same complaint I am reading over and over. I have had 3 service calls for the same problem, water in the veggie/fruit bins, thick ice under the bins. This time the fan was very noisy and would consistently run. Called Xmas eve and the service guy came out on 12/29, the back panel was completely frozen, had to shut off for 24 hrs, and parts were ordered. When I called on Saturday they were nice, but no help. You need to have 4 repair calls in 1 year to even be considered for a new fridge. I have already told many people not to purchase a Samsung fridge or anything and will never get another one myself. I think they should stick to phones & tablets. Let’s hope what was fixed today will last, but once my master protection plan expires in 2016 (glad I have it) the fridge will be gone. Samsung needs to get their act together and maybe if enough people stop purchasing product they will get the message. NO MORE SAMSUNG APPLIANCES FOR ME!!!!!!

When we were ready to redo the kitchen we decided to purchase fridge, stove, dishwasher and microwave all Samsung. The fridge shortly after installed developed water stain in the screen of water dispenser, however since we were 1 day past the original purchase date the warranty was up and Samsung would not help us, and also said a water stain would be considered cosmetic, however now we smelled something burning and now you can see burn area around water spot in water dispenser screen. I had over $1,000.00 worth of food in the fridge when the fridge section 1st froze over then quit completely. I lost everything! Now its Thanksgiving eve and when we arrived home, it was 52 in the frig! I first got out a new gallon of milk, opened it and it was spoiled, all 3 were. I hate Samsung!!!! I purchased a 3 appliance package including a OTR (over the range) microwave from Pauls TV with Samsung being the manufacturer. First the microwave has a wobbly glass tray, it wobbles. Thats my problem because thats the way they are made. Then the microwave would just shut off if it was used more than about 7 minutes. Say, back to back, frozen dinners or heating up 25 minute casseroles. Called Pauls, had to talk to Samsung. Repairman comes out, orders a new circuit board. Comes back 2 weeks later and replaces board. In the middle of a big Christmas Party, microwave shuts off again. Then after 45 minutes, it turns itself back on. When I say shut off, all electric, including clock is off. I call again. Was told it had to be uninstalled to be looked at. So I pay someone to take it out. Repairman said I didnt have to do that. Then he called after and said yes, he ordered another part, so it had to be out to be fixed. That was Dec 29th. I have big New Years party, and have to heat food in cooking pans, but now I dont have a VENT, since it was in the microwave. Today I called Samsung and was transferred to Customer Relations because its January 16th, and the repairman has not shown up twice, yet Samsung keeps calling me to verify Ive called him? I want my money back so I can get something else. Oh, thats too bad. Cant do that. Samsung pays $85 per repair call, hes been here 3 times, plus parts, so far for a $230 microwave. Their policy is to continue to repair until the repairman says it cant be fixed. SWEET job this repairman has. Lucrative contract. I NEVER want to buy another SAMSUNG product again, NEVER. Ive done FOUR kitchen remodels, with all new appliances and never had an issue like this, nor worked with such a stupid company. GE replaced my French Door the 2nd time out because of faulty production. No issue Kitchenaid. No issue Bosch. No issue Fisher & Paykel. No extra warranty. Now I have to wait 2 days so Samsung can reschedule with the repairman.

I have on-going problems with the ice maker. I had a switch go out on the compressor and have had it lose cooling in the freezer, model #RS2555SL. I have ordered and installed two brand new ice makers and both of them. I immediately turned the ice cube tray (unfilled) until it twisted and then never returned to the fill position. I contacted Justanswers.com and they told me this is a very common problem and that I should keep returning it until I get one that works. Is this the state of how products are made these days? The home I bought came with a french door Samsung fridge model number RF263AEBP. About 3 days after moving in the fridge stopped cooling. Luckily our home came with a home warranty so we filed a claim. There is a known defect with this model Samsung fridge and Samsung is doing nothing to resolve the issue. A family in NJ had to file a class action lawsuit to try getting help from Samsung. The fridge stops cooling and water forms under the fridge. Ice covers the coils therefore the fan stops working. The fridge then goes into defrost mode. This has been an absolute headache for us.We have forked out money on short term repairs and have lost money spent on food that has gone bad. This fridge is easily worth $3000.00. Samsung should be ashamed! I feel there should be a recall on their faulty product. I WILL NEVER buy another Samsung product after seeing how Samsung treats their customers. Im now trying to decide if we should put more money into this fridge or go out and buy a new one. Steer clear of Samsung!!!

I am stunned and disappointed to find that our problems with this refrigera
I am stunned and disappointed to find that our problems with this refrigerator (no cooling in the freezer or the fridge, alternatively or simultaneously, water accumulating in one of the produce bins) are actually very widespread. Worse still, we had purchased TWO of these duds before the problems began. We bought our first RF217 in September 2010 (#1), and the second one for our weekend house in July 2012 (#2). Almost immediately after buying #1, I noticed a small amount of water in the right-hand-side produce bin, which would accumulate over about a week (on average) to the point of requiring removal and emptying of the drawer. I didnt think much about it at first, believing I just needed to make some adjustment.Within 3 months of buying #2, we came home from a weekend in the country to find that the FREEZER (and only the freezer) of #1 (which was two years old and out of warranty by then) had stopped working while we were away, and heated to approximately 50 degrees. We called Samsung and went through a troubleshooting sequence, but nothing worked and they referred us to outside service people. We were surprised by the reluctance on the part of the repair people to work on it; we had to call three different ones before one was willing to come out. THREE visits over three weeks later, we finally had a fully working refrigerator again, and the water accumulation in the bin had stopped. In the winter of 2012 (only 6 months after buying it), I noticed one morning that #2 seemed warm when I opened it, even though the digital display showed the temperature at which I had set it. I remembered the trick the repair people had taught me, which was to unplug the unit and plug it back in to get an ACTUAL reading of the temperatures in the fridge and freezer; they were in 50ish and 25ish respectively. As I waited for Lowes (where we had purchased #2 along with an extended service plan) to open so that I could call them for help, I heard the refrigerator come back on. This went on two more times over that weekend, so we emptied out the unit before leaving. This happened again with #2 while we were at the house, and we have no way of knowing how often it has happened since. Now, #1 is doing the same thing. The refrigerator is warm; when I unplugged it and plugged it back in, the digital display read 63 and 27 for the fridge and freezer respectively. After about an hour, I heard the motor start again and the temperatures are back to normal. At this point, we have lost all faith in this refrigerator and the ability to repair it, so we are going out to buy a new one. I am completely horrified to find that stores are still selling it, and deeply disgusted with the fact that Samsung is not acknowledging that there is a problem.I am not sure that my words can convey the utter disgust my husband and I feel with respect to Samsung as a company. We will never buy anything they make, ever again, and we say so to anyone with whom the conversation arises.

On August 16th, 2015 our new Samsung refrigerator model number RF28HMEDBSR/AA leaked water all over the kitchen floor. We contacted the Samsung customer service number listed on the refrigerator door. 1800-726-7864. After being prompted through a maze of extensions and holding for 20 minutes we were told our refrigerator was no longer under warranty even though it was less than one year. They said they would send out a one time courtesy service call. A week and a half later a third party service company arrived and diagnosed the refrigerator as having 3 defective parts that needed to be replaced. He ordered the parts which took another two weeks. During this time we submitted our purchase receipt to correct the date of purchase and show the refrigerator was still under warranty. The new parts were installed and we thought all was well. Two days later, the refrigerator leaked again. It has been 3 full months now and the refrigerator has leaked water all over the floor 27 times. The Tech Pro Plus company (972-241-6413) Samsung hired to repair their product wont answer their phone and dont have a message leaving option. Samsung wont reissue another work order number to a new service provider because they have already paid Tech Pro Plus even though Samsung cannot get though to Tech Pro Plus either. Samsung says if they issue a new work order with a new repair company, it would be out of warranty and we would have to pay for the repair. Please help?

Our Samsung dishwasher started leaking one week ago (3 years old). Not under warranty. It was very hard to get a Samsung approved repairman. Samsung, he assures me, will pay for the part. It is a scam. When I called Samsung, they had never heard of a service bulletin, might not have heard of Samsung, not sure. They kept reading from their cue cards: Your dishwasher is not under warranty anymore. They were rude and very unhelpful. I have FOUR Samsung appliances in my kitchen, did not even treat me as a valued customer. I have had my Samsung French door refrigerator for 2 years last September. Thankfully we purchased extended warranty on the appliances. First the defroster had to be upgraded because ice was building up under the deli tray. When they came out to fix that they found out the sensor panel was broken and the ice maker needed upgrades. The ice maker has now had six different upgrades and it still quits working every three months. Samsung says its over a year old so they dont care. So I purchase 2 Samsung smooth top convection ovens July 27th 2017 for a small in home commercial kitchen. The use of these ovens would not exceed what any normal home would do in a year as my business is somewhat seasonal and a very small operation. In June of 2019 I noticed one of them not holding its temperature. It would be set at 350 and would actually be 405, or 215. I had a repair tech come out and after trying else we replaced the main brain. This sadly did not fix the issue. Then in August the other oven started doing the same thing. After exhausting every fix the repair technician said that there is nothing else to replace so maybe call Samsung and ask them to do something. After three months of being told they will get back to me with a resolution not once did they contact me back, as promised, until I got cross with them and demanded some kind of answer. Well there out is my little operation! I was told that even one week of use in a commercial setting voids all warranty and that I would have to just get them fixed. HOW!!!! The Samsung repair technician has already tried replacing everything. Never buy Samsung appliances. Just sayin.

Purchased refrigerator in BLACK finish (RF28HMEDBBC) to coordinate with other appliances in my kitchen. Upon setup by delivery personnel I find surface scratches on the face of the doors that are in even patterns, they agree must be from rubbing during shipping. The salesperson from Lowes agreed to order new doors. Before doing any cleaning of the surface I referred to manual and used only recommended method of cleaning which is damp cloth followed by dry soft cloth. This method leaves swirls on finish plus near the handles I see new scratches apparently from fingernails that have swiped the door while reaching for the handle to open it (nothing else has been near that area except my hands). Also manual suggests polishing the surface once or twice a year but does not say with what product. I called Samsung and they could give me no answer to what product they recommend. The new doors arrive with another series of scratched patterns so obviously the finish is not durable at all! None of my other black appliances (other brands) have any marks and are several years old. Lowes is willing to again order new doors or swap out for another brand. I am writing this as a buyer beware notice and curious if others have had similar issues.

Now the ice maker has failed and consumer service fix (reset button) did not work. Dishwasher does not clean well even with pre-rinse and accumulates sludge under door. No more Samsung products for me!Updated on 12/28/2015: We found only two appliance technicians in our area who would work on a Samsung; one had to come 70 mi. one-way, and the other was Sears. The Sears technician quoted a price of nearly $900 to repair these two problems. I ordered the Install and old appliance haul away when I bought my dishwash
I ordered the Install and old appliance haul away when I bought my dishwasher. I got neither of these things. The all in one package is why I chose Samsung to begin with. The contractors who arrived with my appliance had no certifications to install anything nor did they bring any tools (I had to give them my tools). The contractors pulled my old dishwasher halfway out and said they couldnt go any further for fear of damaging the wall (the washer wasnt connected to the wall and any qualified installation tech or plumber would have known that). So they left me stuck with a dishwasher halfway out of place. I had to get a plumber to come out and finish the job which costed me money! I was also transferred 5 times because agents kept transferring me to the wrong department and had to call twice because while on hold I was transferred to the review line which took me off the call. After finally being transferred to the home appliance line the agent kept telling me he understood my frustration and he would be upset too if that happened to him. After I asked at the bare minimum compensate me for the the plumber having to come out he told me there was NOTHING he could do because it was XPOs fault not Samsung. Well I paid Samsung for a Samsung product so yes it is Samsungs fault! So Im out the money for a plumber!I have already left a complaint with the BBB and will not be ordering anything from such a dishonest company again. I was lied to when the Samsung website said installation and haul away. The best offer I got from the agent was they could send someone out the week after which is completely unacceptable because again my dishwasher was hanging halfway out! All the agents I talked to should feel ashamed of their terrible customer service and Samsung should be ashamed that they LIE on their website.

I purchased a Samsung washing machine and dryer and upon receipt of the appliances the washing machine would not power on so I had to have a service tech come out. Mind you this is brand new. Never ever operated so they had to repair the computer on the washing machine. I asked for a refund immediately or an exchange and they would not honor it so I was stuck with the product. Subsequently maybe a month or so later I had to have a repair on the washing machine drum. The plastic trim on the top that holds it in somehow became chewed up and in disrepair. They came out and repair that. Not much longer afterwards I had the same problem. They came out again and repair that. Weve had a little luck for a year or so but now were faced with the same exact problem again and theyre saying that were out of warranty. Mind you, this is the same exact reoccurring problem. Hopefully they will finally stand by their product and either replace it or give us a refund. My fingers are crossed but at this point I definitely dont recommend any Samsung products and Im sure that Ill never purchase any more myself.

We purchased our Samsung Microwave (SMH1816S) for our kitchen remodel and had it installed in April 2014. The microwave died on 3/30/15, getting the dreaded error code of 5E. We called Samsung (800-726-7864) on 3/30/15. Having read these reviews, we were prepared for the worst, and that is exactly what we got. DENIAL, DENIAL, DENIAL. We were told our warranty no longer existed. Even worse, they told us our Model number and Serial number didnt even come up! They consistently told me they could give me the number of their service center, but that we would have to pay for the repairs. I argued for 45 minutes with ** explaining to her that we would in NO way pay for the repair of a defective product… something that Samsung is FULLY aware, yet continues to deny. She then said she would have the Tech. Dept. call me the next day. No one got back with me so I called back on 4/2/15 and spoke with ** which got me nowhere, so demanded to speak with a Supervisor. I then spoke with ** of Executive Customer Relations. He, again, tried to deny that Samsung has a serious problem with their microwaves. I cited the over 300 complaints on Consumer Affairs. After 45 minutes of arguing, he finally relented and said they would send a repair tech out at no cost but that the only part they would cover would be the control panel as this is the part that seemed to be the cause of our complaint based upon our error code. Today, 4/10/15, the repairman came out and replaced the control panel. And, not surprisingly, the microwave is still dead! He claimed it must be the main board that needs replacing as the new control panel did not solve the problem. As he only brought a new control panel, he said he would send in our repair results and that someone would contact me. I asked him what a new main board would run and he said he had no idea what the cost of parts ran as only the Joplin, MO. office would know.At this point, I am totally disgusted with Samsung. Seems to me that if it is not the control panel, then it is something else. Bottom line is these microwaves are crap and whats more frustrating is that Samsung is fully aware of it, yet will not take appropriate action… such as recall them. All I know is that when I am contacted, I am ready to fight once again for this worthless item to be fixed BY Samsung at no cost to us. We have not even used this microwave for 1 year and for it to die on us, is absurd! Would love to hear about anyone elses similar experience with failure of the main board. I can only reiterate what everyone else seems to feel… why has a Class Action Lawsuit not been put in action? I know this is a long standing complaint and is extremely common. Is there not an attorney in the house who has experienced this problem with Samsung Microwaves? I will be the first to sign the petition if the challenge is created. I will write more about our travails once Samsung calls me. And if they fail to do so, I will be calling them! NO ONE SHOULD PUT UP WITH SAMSUNGS DENIAL FOR REPAIR! If you dont get what you want, fight for what is right! It has worked for me thus far. They simply cannot keep denying these claims.Updated on May 5, 2015: This is a continuation of a previous review published 4/10/15. It is vital that every Samsung consumer read this tip. We went through the same agony as everyone in dealing with Samsung and their refusal to acknowledge or assist in the repair of these defective microwaves. We spent hours on the phone with several Samsung employees.. most in the management dept. Each phone call got us the usual response... we can provide you with the number of a service repair company but the cost is up to you. Just so you understand, I do not put up with lies nor do I put up with injustices. I do not let them go. It was not until after I finally demanded to speak with someone in their LEGAL DEPARTMENT that I got any satisfactory response. I was told that the only thing they could give me was the email address for their legal dept. So, I wrote the Legal Dept.. ** on 4/16/15. I expressed my disgust with Samsung and urged them to read the reviews on ConsumerAffairs.com. I pointed out to them that they were completely unethical in their handling of the hundreds (actually probably thousands if you take into account those who just did not write a review on ConsumerAffairs) of complaints as to the dreaded defective microwaves. I warned them that a Class Action Lawsuit seemed to be encouraged by most. On 4/17/15, I received an email from the Legal Dept. (I will not give the name as it seems the names are bleeped out). The email approved the cost of repair for our microwave. We, too, had the common 5E/SE error code. The technician came out on 4/21/15 to make the repair. Turns out we had to have the motherboard replaced (having already replaced the control panel) before the oven worked properly. We do not feel the headaches are over. It seems as if many of these issues arise again after a few months of use. We will not be surprised when/if this happens again. Bottom line, these microwaves need to be recalled or a Class Action Lawsuit should prevail. Samsung is only putting a temporary fix on these defects. Since the Legal Dept. acted as if my complaint was new to them, I can only encourage everyone to write the Legal Dept. of Samsung to voice their complaint and to get appropriate action. Hopefully this helps all of you who are getting nowhere with Samsung.

I bought my fridge June 2010. It is a very large double door stainless steel model with deli tray, freezer on bottom and cost $2700 from Lowes. A few months ago, I noticed water on my floor, so first thing that came to mind was the kids are playing with water dispenser, so I locked it. That did not solve the problem so I was not sure of what to do since it was not a large amount of water. Then during my routine cleaning, I had a burst of energy, and decided to remove the deli tray completely and that is when I noticed a huge amount of water! I could not believe it! Where was it coming from? No visible leaks, cracks and nothing. I tried for weeks to find someone to come out, with no luck. I finally called Lowes and they sent someone from A&E who told me that my fridge was not properly leveled and water that is suppose to drain down is leaking forward. It popped me $216 to level my fridge. I was burned but thought it was better than $2000 for a new fridge. I checked it today (3 days have passed) and guess what? A huge puddle of water under the deli drawer! I called A&E and they said that they will come out, and waive the service fee but I will be responsible to order new parts. Are you kidding me? I just gave you $216! Never again will I buy Samsung. I wish I knew about this site before dropping big bucks on a big piece of **!
