I have a 6 year old Viking Range that I am sending to the scrap heap because after 2 years and dozens of repair visits, Viking cannot repair it. It is a 48 unit with 2 ovens which intermittently work. At first they told me that they couldnt repair it unless they were there when it malfunctioned. After hundreds of dollars spent on repair parts, it finally malfunctioned while the repairman was there and installed Vikings prescribed new parts, and they still cant figure it out nor are they offering me to replace it. I am very dissatisfied with their product and their response to the problems that I have had with it.

I needed a refrigerator to replace an old one and fit in my actual receptacle for it. I like the size and the style of my Viking refrigerator. I have a lot of nice storage space. I like the extra bottom that has that shelf. I could put the pizza box on and thats a great addition for my family. I also like the glass iron on the door. I am enjoying Vikings refrigerator. Its working great and I love it. Plus, I had a very good experience with the dealer.

My Viking refrigerator and dishwasher are just over four years old. We have had constant problems with the fridge beginning within a year of purchase. Ice maker replaced twice, unit not cooling, plastic cracking, doors not sealing. We have had the entire unit replaced, since then the ice maker is still working but the plastic is cracking again on the covers to the butter storage. The dishwasher has been repaired at least twice, once due to a fire hazard recall. Now it doesnt dry the dishes and needs repair again. In over 30 years of homeownership I have owned several homes with other appliance brands at much lower cost - have never had any single appliance come even close to having major issues such as this. When I paid top dollar for professional appliances I never expected this low level of quality.

My Viking refrigerator has lasted 10 years with three service calls mostly related to small things. Its great looking and it works well. The only complaint I have is the drawers within the refrigerator, such as the crisper drawer, all cracked and will need to be replaced. But they are very expensive to replace.

Im very dissatisfied with my Viking Refrigerator. I find the design of the refrigerator really crazy. You have to open the refrigerator doors to get water out of a spigot inside the door, which when youre filling drips onto the bottom of the refrigerator. And we have been having horrendous problems with the door sticking at the bottom. Weve had the freezer door fixed four times that it gets to the point where you just cant open it. The service company has been in four times and they pull it all out. They clean out all the ice and do everything they need to do and they put it back. It works better because when they arrived you couldnt open it at all. But once they leave it is still not working properly. I dont know what the solution is because A-1 Appliance solved it for maybe two days, three days, four days and then it just sticks again.

Awesome range - very efficient and easy to use burners that regulate heat very well. Having a professional-series product also unfortunately means that I now want to upgrade everything. Would recommend this range for everyone looking to add a level of sophistication to either their existing kitchen or building brand new. Great warranty as well (that we have never used).

Ive built a few houses myself and somewhat custom kitchens in them, and Ive known about Viking Ranges for years. I always liked the Viking product and the experience purchasing online was very good. Before I shopped, I went on the website and navigated through it, looking at what features they had and what I was interested in with respect to packages that were available. I bought the package which includes the refrigerator, a range, a dishwasher and an icemaker. After that, I was directed towards where I purchased. The supplier did a very good job of walking me through my options and my rebate options, which was something I hadn’t thought of, and it saved me some good money. Im putting a new kitchen in and the range is not up and running yet, but I have plugged it in. I love the LED lights that are displayed on the front, so that was really cool. I have a Wolfe upstairs in my kitchen and it doesn’t have the features this one has.

Our experience with the range so far has been very nice. The only thing is that when were trying to light the burners, they dont ignite really quickly. The cleanup of ours is manual but we havent had issues doing it ourselves. The only downside is that theres no thermostat and you cant see what temperature the ovens at. Other than that, I recommend purchasing one. Just make them give you an oven thermometer. For what you pay for the stove, I would think they would give you one of those.

We liked the look of Viking and their reputation as well so we went with them. Were not so thrilled with the double wall oven but the refrigerator is awesome. The quality is excellent and this is probably the best refrigerator weve ever owned. Its so easy to navigate in there. You can see and reach everything. But the ice maker could be improved. The bin that the ice goes into should be raised in the back so that the ice falls to the front. Im always winding up with ice all over the floor and on the inside of the freezer because it builds up then theres no way to open the freezer without the ice falling over like a deck of cards. Other than that, weve had a fairly good experience so far.

I chose a Wolf range and they had a part problem and couldnt get the range in in time. So, my second choice was Viking. The oven is great but the burners are hard to regulate and I don’t like them. I had somebody from one of Vikings vendors come in to look at it and make sure it was operating correctly, and it wasnt completely operating well. They fixed it. I still am not completely satisfied though. The deal was I wanted a different range to begin with, and somehow, this one arrived. I was moving into a new house, so I had to have a range to get a certificate of occupancy. So, I ended up keeping it. But my struggle with it is I can never get the burners to go low enough just to simmer. Im constantly playing with them and its irritating.

The range came with our house and the quality is not very good. It is not self-cleaning, which I dont like. It cooks food. But they can upgrade the design. It’s a large oven but its insufficient to put two standard sized cookie trays side by side. So you get this bigger oven but theres no benefit of the oven, only the benefit of the extra burners on top. We had to get an extra oven. Maybe their top-of-the-line models are better. This is an entry level model but its still a $5,000 oven. Its three years old and its already had two service calls. The warranty is only two years. The oven wouldnt light and the burners on top are sporadic in their lighting. Ive had cheaper ovens that are way better. I’d never buy another Viking. The service people were great to a degree. They were responsive. They came out and they charged me for the replacement pieces. They were gonna look into whether they could get a courtesy warranty on another part, but they never followed up. The people at Viking themselves who I contacted because there was a recall on some of these ovens confirmed my recall was not there. Even though I found some other parts that were not adjusted correctly at the factory and I had to pay to have the service guy readjust them, they said, “Thats too bad. It’s out of warranty.”

The brand new fridge came with an SYCE fault, the people at Viking took forever to get back to me. I was sent to the Mexico rep, he wanted to charge me $600 dollars to come and see what was wrong. I ended up paying $750 to get the parts from Viking and I fixed it myself. Its incredible the bad aftermarket support of the warranty team to fix a problem in such an expensive refrigerator. It took 5 weeks to get a response, got tired of begging for support and ended up doing it myself.

I researched on the website a while back and to me, Viking products were outpriced out, so I didn’t care for Viking at all and I was looking more into BlueStar and Wolf. But then this year I went to Best Buy and I saw the Viking range, and the customer service guy there, Cary, started telling me about it. I was looking at it and ended up buying it. And I was surprised because I never thought I was gonna have a Viking. But I love it and I’m happy with the customer service. Now the only thing is the cleaning portion of the ceramic part where I can’t get some tough stains out. And customer service doesnt have anybody that I can call and walk me through it or give me ideas. I have to look on the web, and that’s the only bad part. The baking feature of the range is great but it’s a little bit slow. If I have a cake that is a 30-minute cake, the baking time goes close to an hour. I love to bake and a pound cake is supposed to be 45 to an hour and 15 minute and Viking goes close to the two hour time. The oven turns off and it comes back on, so baking takes longer. I may be doing something wrong but I don’t press the button for a convection oven. So I’ll ask the technician when they come. The dealer in the Pacific Department at Best Buy was an excellent help and Viking Ranges is excellent. Go ahead and purchase one if you can do it.

We shopped around at several different appliance, some of the appliance showrooms, and I was going back and forth between Sub-Zero, Wolf and Viking. There were pros and cons for all of them but I really liked the Series 5 oven. They have a double oven that’s got a French door on top and that combined with the cooktop that I felt like it was a rugged enough look. I decided to go for a Viking kitchen package because of the oven than it was because of the fridge in particular. But if I put raw strawberries in their fridge the strawberries stay fresher much longer than they did in previous normal refrigerators I had. Before when I put the strawberries in my refrigerator two days later they’d be all shriveling. But with Viking I can put them in there, and a week later, they still look edible. There’s something about the airflow. One of their appliance guy explained to us something about that and it definitely works. But I have to buy an ice scoop because Viking doesn’t make ice dispensers in their fridges, which is fine, because I like the smooth look on the front. But I think that they should probably throw in like a food grade ice scoop because yon’t wanna touch ice cube with your hands. That’s just kinda gross.

We bought the package of Viking appliances - fridge, wall oven, and stove from Trail Appliance in Calgary in 2009. We are living outside of any major city so servicing these products has been tough. The products are constantly falling apart and expensive to repair. The fridge shelves and drawers have cracked numerous times and are now taped with duct tape as the replacements are too expensive to keep replacing! The stove elements are no longer working so in process of finding repairs. Not hopeful. Very disappointed with the product line.

Viking creates a great product that is sturdy and outperforms other high-end ranges. After buying a Thermador Range that underperformed at every turn and which seemed to be made out of low-quality steel which caught on fire due to a door switch issue, we decided to buy a Viking dual fuel range. What a wonderful experience we have had not just with the product but also with the customer service, which was sorely lacking with Thermador. Thanks for making a superb product!

We liked the Viking brand name and the look of their products. So, we redid our whole kitchen with all Viking and got their products through a dealer. Our Viking range is good and powerful but it is so much stronger than what I was used to, so I burned a pot early on. That has been a learning curve for me and I dont know if that’s in the materials because it’s sort of overwhelming when you get all new appliances and unpack from a renovation. That might be my fault but that could be somehow highlighted for other people. Also, there was a problem with the ranges starter from the beginning so I had to have that repaired. One of the grate panels rusted, too and it was replaced. But the black on the replacement is a little different though and it doesn’t match the others if you look at it. Plus, a little piece fell off of one of the grates and I still have to glue it. I paid for it and Viking was supposed to send us two pieces of that but they sent only one. I also find it difficult to clean or get stuff off the stove top, although I try to not worry about it as much. That has been a bit of a learning curve as well. We have the Viking range for a little over two years so far and I don’t think that these problems should have happened. That is not what I would expect.

I unfortunately bought a Viking gas range from the local dealer Warner Stellian since the Wolf range I wanted was on indefinite backorder. This range has proven to be the worst gas range I ever had the mis-fortune of owning. Absolute piece of junk nothing but problems from day 1. Oven door that doesnt lock in cleaning cycle, spark modules and ignitors that dont work, door hinges that break, etc, etc. And forget about getting ANY satisfaction from Viking you call they ignore you and treat you like your stupid. I recently bought some much cheaper GE appliances for my mothers house in FLA and they performed flawlessly and at 1/4 to 1/3 the cost of Viking P.O.S.I think Im not alone see the other reviews on this site and they are all very consistent and UNHAPPY. DONT fall victim to the hype and salesperson B.S. Save your money and buy ANYTHING other than a Viking! Overpriced, poor quality, non-existent customer service, expensive hard to find parts, lousy, pathetic customer service from the manufacturer. Other than all that, youll love them...

We bought a complete set of appliances in 2014. After just four years of normal use, the water dispenser wont stop, the dishwasher display failed and the oven stopped working. When we called the authorized service technician, he charged me $264 just to tell me that some parts need to be replaced and all of them are not covered under the extended guarantee. Just to replace the control board of the oven will cost me more than $800. Also when called the customer service to get a clearer explanation about what is covered and what is not, the representative failed to explain where it says that the control board of the oven is excluded. We are very disappointed with Viking, we bought these appliances believing that they are better than less expensive brands but turns out that they lasted less than our previous appliances and the customer service is far worst. We purchased our Viking 48 built in in 2005 and during the next two years, had (11) service calls to either fix the ice maker or the temperature control module. The ice maker never functioned properly and we finally replaced it at a cost of over $550. Their service rep. actually argued and yelled at my wife on the phone because the item was out of warranty. How in the hell can any company stand for that type of customer relations and expect people like us to recommend their products?? But there is a light at the end of the tunnel and there are some companies that still know the business of good customer relations and that is Wolf / Sub Zero. Point in fact, my double oven control unit went out. We called the Wolf service center and asked them if there was anything they could do for us to minimize the cost of replacing the module at $760.00. They immediately said that they would waive the cost of the parts but we would have to pay a service fee of $125. DONE DEAL. By the way, the unit was ten years old. I tell this story to everyone who will listen, perhaps Viking will, someday. To be fair, I did find out that there was a recall on the refrigerator door pins that could break and the door could fall off. I called and they were very nice and will cover the replacement costs and parts 100%, which they should on any safety recall.

This started almost a year ago. We purchased a Viking refrigerator and a freezer which were large, built-in units. Were about to complete our house and ready to have appliances delivered and installed and it started with the refrigerator and the freezer where they set up a delivery time. However, nobody showed up for the first delivery schedule that they had setup. We didnt get a phone call or anything. The home that we were constructing is about 60 miles or an hour away from us. I was out there all day long waiting for the refrigerator and freezer to show up but they didnt. So, I called the store, they apologized and said they didnt know what happened but the appliances will arrive on another day. So, I drove back down there, waited all day long, but nobody showed up on the second promised delivery date. They finally showed up during the third promised delivery date. They were supposed to send a four-man-crew because the units were very heavy, large built-in ones, and they were supposed to have somebody there to help install them and whatever else they needed to do, but as soon as the truck pulled up, there were only two people in the truck. I figured that was a red flag because that was not what they said they were gonna do. The two guys offloaded the freezer and they set the freezer into place. They were bringing in a refrigerator and I noticed that it was damaged at the bottom. I brought that to the attention of the delivery crew and he went, Oh, yeah! It is. So, they just set it in place and did not install it since it was damaged. The delivery driver said, Someone will be out here tomorrow to fix it and get it installed. The next day came and went, but I didnt hear a word. I know how schedules need to be taken care of, so I tried to be patient and I waited for a while. I then got tired of waiting. I called in and said, Your delivery guy said somebody would be here tomorrow. That was a week ago. When is somebody gonna come and fix this refrigerator? I started getting from the store that, Oh, well, the installation is not included and youre gonna have to pay. I said, Wait a minute. When you sold me this you said it was delivery and installation. Somebody came out to deliver it and said they wouldve installed it if it hadnt been damaged. We started to fight on this. I said, Well, when is somebody gonna come and fix it? I finally got somebody to acknowledge that and sent somebody out there.A guy came out and he worked on it all day. And then, he decided he cant fix or install it and told me that theyre just gonna have to replace it. Theyre gonna send me two brand new units. So, he left, and again, the waiting game. A few days went by, I started calling again and nobody seemed to know what was going on. It has been two months since they began trying to get the stuff delivered and installed. I recently got a text message from the guy at the store because I reached out to them again. I said, Somethings gotta happen here. Yall finish this. He texted me back and said, Someone will call either today or tomorrow to schedule an appointment. I have not heard from anybody since then.

We also found out that our icemaker was making noises because there was no water supply, so I had people come out in maintenance. Every single product delivered to me by Best Buy was a disaster. Its because once it leaves Viking, it actually goes into a contracted service that Best Buy uses, and its their distributorship that caused the problem. They had way too many hand offs, they had a product coming out of Mississippi and went into distribution centers, and they were supposed to make it to Minneapolis. This is also when the products will be damaged as well, like the dent in the microwave. My refrigerator was delivered completely dead on arrival. They installed it and told me it was gonna take 24 hours for it to cool. The next morning, its as hot as it was when they installed it. The fridge had to be completely replaced. Furthermore, it took almost 12 weeks for my range to be delivered. I was getting the runaround from Best Buy. I kept getting excuses on why they told me they couldnt find my range. I told them, How do you lose a 36-inch range? I dont understand. They said, Well, it didnt arrive. They were a no-show at the loading dock. I had used the range one day, it had a short in it and burned up the entire range. I know that these issues wasnt Vikings fault and I dont think they had any control over what was happening once it was purchased. I felt like the CEO of Viking needed to know about my experience because of the distribution. I did a Google search for the CEO of Viking, and I called and left a message for him on his voicemail. He called me within an hour. And the next day, I had resolution. I had appliances being delivered and everything being handled. They sent a Viking representative out of a smaller-type of distributor, and not a big box company. He was fantastic. Best Buy was putting all the blame squarely on Vikings shoulders because every time I would call them they told me that all the delays were because of Viking. It was ironic that once I did get a hold of Viking, the problem was handled within a day or two days. I would recommend Viking to a friend, although I would tell them never to buy through Best Buy.

We purchased a Viking Gas Range this summer for our kitchen renovation. We were excited about our purchase as we had saved up for this particular gas range. After install, we have been less than impressed. When preheating, the gas oven makes a very loud bang! (As if metal is expanding inside.) It scares me every time I hear it, even though I know its coming. When I called customer service, I was told once that it was normal and a second time, I was put on hold for 20 + minutes, only to hang up because I didnt feel my concern was being valued. We also smell a very strong smell of gas or exhaust when the gas oven is on.My concern is that the loud bang and smell of gas/exhaust should not be present in an appliance that is so expensive. We expected higher quality when we made this purchase. Ive tried calling customer service and entering a claim on the website (which seems to be permanently down and unable to accept claims online). I want to be in love with this purchase, but Im not. In fact, I feel a little uneasy using the gas oven due to the experience Ive had so far.

I always liked the look of Viking ovens and since Viking always seems to have a package deal sale, we got suckered into buying the package and “saving” some money. The Fridge is awful. The door is too heavy and constantly breaks. They will send someone to fix it, but it is a temporary fix. A band aid. We have thrown out hundreds of dollars worth of food because this fridge door will not close right (very bad design way — too heavy). They will not do the right thing and replace the fridge. I wish we bought the other brand that’s a bit more expensive but actually lasts and is built right. Don’t fall for the bundle deal. There’s a reason they offer it.

Ive had 20 years of experience with Viking before and never had a problem with it. Its quality and they last a long time. But these last six years that I had wasn’t as good as the first time I had an experience with their refrigerator 20 years ago. The quality of it wasn’t as good and I had trouble with my installation. They didn’t really install it very well so I had to have them come back again. And I also had a defect in one my shelves that had to be returned. Other than that, I usually call the manufacturer in Mississippi if I need anything and they are the most excellent to deal with the troubleshoots. I can call them if I suspect that I have a problem and they’ve been the best. If you call the purchase department, theyre very good at saying, “Well, I dont think that, Maybe that’s not it, or Yes. You can order this part, or You can’t order this part. So, I depend on them a little bit more than a local person.

We have four different Viking appliances and we love their line. We also love the range. But with the refrigerator that we bought, Im not feeling super great about it. After less than two months of us installing it, the refrigerator died. There was a problem with the fan in the freezer portion that wasnt blowing air up the refrigerator, so everything was spoiled. We called the company where we purchased the Viking Refrigerator from and then they contacted Viking. Then they sent someone under the manufacturer warranty. However, that process took three weeks so we were out of a refrigerator for three weeks. The refrigerator is fixed now, although there is a popping noise that occurs occasionally. But even though the refrigerator is giving us some trouble, we still like it. We also like its size and the capability of monitoring the temperature.

And since I was very happy with my range, I got a Viking refrigerator. I like the lighting in both the refrigerator and the freezer, and its doing an excellent job of keeping the food cold. 8 years ago we did a total renovation to our kitchen and chose to put in a 48 Viking range/hood. This undoubtedly was our most expensive purchase. In the last 7 years I have had nothing but problems. 2 of the burners never light unless done with a match. I am now on my 3rd thermostat for the broiler, I have been waiting 3 MONTHS for this part... Again!!! The oven thermostat has been replaced 2 times. Of course these repairs have cost us $500-$1500. This has been the most disappointing purchase I have ever made. Terrible product and terrible customer service. Dont DO IT... Buy something that backs up its product for more than a year!!!

It was difficult to find someone who would service a Viking Refrigerator. I purchased all Viking appliances thinking they were high quality. Unfortunately, I had problems from the start...especially with the dishwasher. Like many other customers, the silverware basket began falling apart within the first year. I complained to Viking and left with the impression they just dont care if you are satisfied or not. I cant stand the thought of paying up to $80 for a new Viking basket- after paying so much $$$ for the dishwasher in the first place- so I am still using the broken one currently held together with zip ties. If that wasnt enough, the start button on the top edge that turns the machine ON failed. That cost me close to $200 to replace one tiny electronic part. I have a small apartment size dishwasher in one of my rental units I paid only 1/4 of what I did for my Viking and it cleans dishes so much BETTER than my expensive Viking. DO NOT BUY VIKING APPLIANCES. You will regret it.

I have had my Viking Range since last September and I have had technicians out here eight times and my 36 inch range is still leaking gas, they can’t figure it out, so if you want a range that works, don’t choose Viking! I spent $500 to have Thanksgiving delivered to my home, and Christmas wasn’t any better.... What holiday will I NOT be cooking for next. I’d like to say it looks good, but the front of it already has some rust spots/pitting marks right in front of the burners! I was trying to decide between Wolf or Viking; I work with high-end kitchens a lot in my business, clearly I chose badly. Don’t make the same mistake! And seriously never use Appliances Connection; they are awful, rude customer service and no follow-up, not a customer centric company!

We just received a new Viking VDR5486GSS $13,419 dollar 48 Inch 5 Series Stainless Steel Dual Fuel Freestanding Range and we can’t even use it. Right from the factory it has two left the burners that leak gas, a main door oven that’s out of alignment and can’t be realigned as per service tech and a middle support piece that was missing screws and bent in. Called Viking and they are closed until January 2 which has ruined our Christmas and New Years plans. Then the 3rd party service company that does warranty work ** says the part will not be in until February yet the Viking rep I spoke to says all the ten parts are in stock but their company is closed until January 2nd. Customer service was nice and tried to get the parts expedited but failed to tell me that the 3rd party service provider needed to put the order in before 4:30 pm on Thurs Dec 20 because they closed the warehouse on Dec 21st.We just tried to bake biscuits in what is supposed to be the only working part, the oven in plain old bake mode. The top heating element comes on which burned the biscuits. The user manual shows that only the bottom element is supposed to come on. Extremely disappointed in this product and I just want to throw it in the trash as that is where it belongs. Something that costs $13,419 before tax should not have these rudimentary quality control issues. The Viking employees that built this trash should be ashamed of themselves! I can get a better quality product from the Big Box stores for a fraction of the cost.

Over the years I’ve always wanted to get a Viking range. We moved back to America about five years ago and I went to remodel the kitchen, and that’s when I purchased one. The look is very nice. There’s a couple of quirks on it ‘cause when it came, the knobs were all put in the wrong thing. I didn’t know what was going on when we turned the stove on. I couldn’t understand why we couldn’t turn it smoothly from one adjustment to the other. We came to find out that the back of these knobs were put on wrong. So when the service guy came out, he looked at it and changed the knobs. As far as working with the Viking people, they’ve been very good and the service is top-notch.One of the things Ive noticed is its difficult to see the numbering on the Viking oven on what you want to set it to since its chrome and it is very shiny. When we turn the oven on to 350, we can’t tell when the light goes on or off when it becomes 350. We wait for five minutes and it should be there. We’re trying to get a little external temperature thing to put on there. Other than that, it’s really nice and it gets hot really fast. We like it a lot.

When the Viking refrigerator and the wine cooler were brought in by the ins
When the Viking refrigerator and the wine cooler were brought in by the installers, they damaged the handlebars and two of them had scratches. They hit the door entry area, too, so they damaged that as well and my contractor had to fix it for us. The two refrigerators were also not installed the way I wanted them to be installed and the doors were not in line with each other, so they were a bit off. Theres also a half an ounce of leak periodically occurring on the wine cooler side. The installers set the refrigerators in and put in the backing for them to be stabilized. They leveled it a bit and locked it into that 2x4 in the back. Then they left without installing the trim kit so my carpenter had to figure out how to put it in. The trim kit was for the refrigerator but we ended up installing it on the wine cooler side since that didn’t have a trim kit. Ben, from the Odmus Company, told me that I was supposed to use the trim kits for both sides, the refrigerator and the wine cooler, to make them look right and uniform. He said he would install them for me so I should get them. So I ordered another trim kit for the refrigerator but later, he said that there was supposed to be another kit for the refrigerator as well. This was never brought to my attention until months after I purchased the items, so I’m disappointed about that. I paid $1,000 for the installation and trim kits thinking that the installers would finish the job and do it correctly, but it wasn’t done so. I reported it to Viking and to the store manager, but I never received any calls from BestBuy about this issue. It’s been five months since I bought the refrigerators. BestBuy held on to them for me until I was ready for the installation, then they were installed in my house two months ago.I talked to someone from BestBuy last month and told them about my problems with the installation process. They got the original installer back to help me and they’re going to replace the handles, straighten out the doors for me and install the trim. But most of the work has been done already, so I dont see why I have to pay for the installation when the installers didn’t install anything. They just delivered the items and set them up. Other than that, I love the Viking refrigerator and the cooler, except for the leakage. They’re great refrigerators and I would recommend them to others. Since the installation process is the most difficult job, people have to make sure that Viking would do everything that they’re supposed to do and that they complete the job.

I liked the way Viking Ranges look better than other competitors. I like my ranges quality a lot, but there are a few things I dont like. The top is very difficult to clean. There’s a bar on the top before the burners and it’s like a crevice. Theres no flat surface there because of that enclosure. Everything around the burners gets into those cracks. It’s in a really bad spot for the stainless and you have to clean it constantly, and the best thing to do is vacuum it up. Plus it doesn’t make sense that they didn’t make a smaller burner. They’re all the same size and if you had a really small pan, it could be difficult to use. Other than that, it cooks very well. I like the oven racks and the way they telescope out is good. I’ve cooked a lot in the oven and it stayed clean until I dumped a batter of egg thing in it. I slipped, but it was fine. Theres a learning curve though. You can’t just put it in and use it. You need to really read.

Viking was already the brand we had in the kitchen. The refrigerator broke, so I replaced it with the same brand. I bought it through a third-party seller and the experience was poor. The product was delivered with a manufacturer defect. The doors had to be zip-tied up because the installation is difficult if the doors are moving about. After it was installed, my husband and I realized the doors dont close. What upset me about the third-party vendor was that they said that its our problem, not theirs, and left. But Viking immediately stepped in and sent help with their repair people around town. I have had to use them on two or three occasions once again, all from the defect of original product delivery. No issues that went wrong. They have been incredibly responsive. Its a brand that stands by its quality. On the other hand, they did let a fridge that doesnt have doors that close past inspection somehow, so thats also strange. But when they realized they messed up, they fixed it. The refrigerator is not the right size and its a loud machine, but it does the job and has lots of storage.

I bought a Viking dishwater 11 months ago. During this time, I had to call their repair representative 5 times. I was very dissatisfied with this as I had paid more than twice an average dishwasher and expected better quality and not worse. I have been using dishwashers for more than 30 years and never had any problems before this one. Last week, the washer broke down again and the repair guy said that an olive pit had gone past the filter and into the drain, and he claimed that this was my fault and the warranty would not cover this situation! Now, I always wipe plates and try to get everything off but it is possible thata pit might be stuck to the bottom of a plate or glass and isnt the filter suppose to get that? I consider the design of the filter to be faulty and called Viking but they would not accept paying for the repair. I will never buy Viking again and will relay my experience to everyone I know and recommend them to stay away from Viking products which are highly priced, have poor reliability, and bad customer service.

The house we purchased had a Viking Range and it was un-repairable according to our insurance so they said, “Replace it,” and we decided we want to keep the same. The one we had before was a four-burner and we replaced it with a five-burner. But my wife wants me to call on it for service now because the guy who installed it said to do a deep cleaning right away. So we did for like two and a half hours and after that every time we turn the oven on the fan has a weird noise it didn’t have before. Before everything was nice and quiet. We could hear the fan coming on exhausting the oven. And then after we did the deep clean -- the high temperature clean, now it sounds like the fan is hitting something. When we installed it the place I bought it at said that they would be putting in something like anti-tip or something to the oven so if someone stands on the door the oven wont tip over. But they did not put that in. We also ran across some problem when we were trying to fix the original stove. The cleaning function would not work on it and the burners wouldn’t fire up every time. We had to use an igniter. But I had maybe four different people out here to look at it and said, “No, we don’t do this Viking.” They wont do it. That had scared my mother a little because we were remodeling her apartment and she was thinking of getting Viking but were not too sure now because its difficult to find service for them. They are also pretty small refrigerators. I wanted the 44-inch and has more options to choose but I did not see many so I finally ended up with the 36-inch ones. I saw that the refrigerator was much better because in the beginning, I was close to buying Sub-Zero. But because all of my appliances were Viking, I didnt want to make a mix. That’s why I bought my own refrigerator. But by the day I bought it, it started to have many problems. The engine turned off by itself. It worked once in a while.Viking fixed it three times. When they were fixing the last time, the tech broke the main doors arm so he couldn’t close the refrigerator. I got more upset about it. He then made the refrigerator open and said, “You have to turn it off, and you have to wait like three or four days for us to have the part for me to be able to fix it.” I said, “Are you gonna leave me without a refrigerator, without a freezer? I mean, it wasn’t my fault. I mean, you are fixing something new, and now, you are telling me I have to wait four days without a refrigerator because you broke the arm?” And the fourth time, they again wanted fix it. I bought something new. I dont want it to be fixed all the time. So, I brought it to the place that I bought it, they spoke to me and they changed the whole refrigerator.Hopefully, I will buy the same Viking set because all appliances on my kitchen are Viking. It came with the house. But the ones they have in the house are the worst ones that Viking has. The cooking appliance turns on by itself too. It has the same problem. Almost all the people who have the same system said all of it came like that. So, if I want something better, I have to change the model and get something more expensive or higher quality. I have always heard about Viking Ranges and always wanted one. We remodeled our whole house, so we got all new appliances. We did some research and Viking Range was really out of my cost range but I found one at Best Buy that was being discontinued and it was locked down and so we got it. I chose Viking because I liked the look of it. I wanted a dual fuel and I liked the look of the cooktop and I particularly like the self-cleaning range. I was also looking at a KitchenAid but when I dug deeper, I found that it wasnt self-cleaning and Viking Range appeared to be. I havent cleaned it yet. We used to have just a cooktop and a separate oven and I wanted both of those combined together. Other ranges were far away from the actual burner itself and I really wanted one that was closer. I really like the shelf, pulling it in and out and Viking was very smooth in that. So, we decided to go with a Viking Range. However, the quality is not so good. We bought it in October off the showroom floor. They sat here for over a month and then they installed it and it didnt work. The gas cooktop worked but the electric oven did not work. Since we bought it at Best Buy through Pacific Sales and we signed up for their Geek Squad offer or the five-year plan, we called them and someone came out the next day. They told us that the motherboard was fried. So, they said I have to order another one. So, we waited and waited and finally, they ordered the part, the part came and the guy who came to install it said, Oh, this is the wrong part. This is not what we ordered. So at that point, this was in January, I was fed up with them because both who came had no good things to say about Viking. We started questioning if we made the right decision. Maybe we loved the way it looks, but if I have problems with it, then this is not the range for us. So, we went to Best Buy and Pacific Sales, and we talked to them and they were very nice about it. They asked if we want our money refunded or if we want to pick out another one instead. I selected the KitchenAid that I wasnt going to get the first time. And in the meantime, they gave me the name of the Viking dealer in Dallas area that provides some support for that kind of thing and told us, Call them directly and see what they can do. And if they get it fixed and you want to use it, use it until your other one comes in. So, the KitchenAid was back ordered and it was just supposed to be delivered last Thursday. The guy came out from the other place and he worked on the Viking range and he said, Well, I think its just the power supply thats bad on it. Let me get a part for it. So, he ordered a part, he came out and it was just the power supply. He fixed it and got it up and running and thats been a couple of weeks ago. Now, its up and running and I love it. The guy who fixed it recommended that we should call Viking and get an extended warranty from them. I did but Viking doesnt offer an extended warranty. Also, theres a lot of things in there and I have not used but I did not get anything with it that tells you not to do or how to convert or any of that. I got to figure that out. I have conventional kitchen instructions and I wanted it to convert it to convection but I dont know how thats going to work yet. We bought an extended warranty with Best Buy or Pacific Sales because it does have a material warranty on it. So, Im going to call the people who can fix it for two years and then we go back to Best Buy for the last three years. I havent used all the functionality on there but I love what Ive used, which is bake and Ive used the cooktop and the grill on the cooktop. If I had purchased it from someone else who knew more about Viking, I might have had a different experience. I dont know how long they studied Viking. But when I called the Viking repair people directly, they said not everyones authorized to make changes. If youre going to buy something off the floor, it should work, and you should have people who are authorized to fix come out and work on it. And whoever comes out, since you spent a ton of money on it, you want someone to confirm that you made the right decision and not bad mouth what you had.

We did a kitchen remodel and the person whom we were using to do the kitchen was the distributor for Viking. We got a Viking Refrigerator but then it woke me up last night as there is some sort of sensor that goes off and sets the alarm off. We have already had this sensor fixed once and now its broken again. Additionally, the drawer doesnt seem to shut right. The way freezer drawers work should be that they slide really easily, regardless if theres a lot of weight. However, after two weeks of operation, our freezer drawer has slowed down to the point where we have to push it with effort to get it to close.Viking has tried to have that fixed and nobody has been able to fix it. They contract with local repair people who have been very responsive. These repair people have addressed the issues, as reported but then theres still some sort of sensor that fails. The problem wasnt too bad when the sensor was going off at 7:00 AM or 8:00 AM. However, it has been going off at 3:22 in the morning and its annoying. There are beeping sounds coming from the kitchen thats surrounded by hardwood floors. The techs who have come have replaced several pieces the last time they came out. The problem with the sensor stopped for two or three weeks after that but then started again.

I’ve had two other Viking kitchens and I like the quality and the look of the product. The cost is a little bit high. But I like having the broiler in the oven. It’s high temp so it’s easy to cook indoors when you can’t go outside to grill. The appliance dealer was very difficult to deal with. They provided no information as to the status where my stuff was. So I actually had to get Kevin Brown, the CEO of Viking involved. Everything’s here now but if I had I not gotten Kevin involved this could’ve gone on forever. The customer service of Viking and the inside sales manager did a fabulous job at pulling us out of the ditch. Viking itself handled themselves very well. And I would tell a friend to give Viking Ranges a shot. It’s a good product,

After reading some of the reviews, I guess Ive gotten off easy with my fully Viking stocked kitchen, but nevertheless I feel compelled to add to the pile of one star ratings. Granted my Viking appliances are 10 years old, but having had GE and KitchenAid appliances, which last 20 years, my expectations are that if Viking is going to charge THAT much money for an oven, or a dishwasher, then itll last even longer than the other brands. We had a years worth of trouble with our oven burning everything before it finally exploded (literally). After 2 months Viking finally sent the right part. Oh, but they told the repairman to bend the piece to make it fit; even the repair man was incredulous. Now we have been waiting 4 weeks for a part for our dishwasher. I called the day it was due in (today), and nope, not ready. Itll be another 2-3 weeks. Its back ordered. Who is making these parts? Elves that work only by the light of the moon?! Viking: Figure this out. Figure out how to make better appliances (Many, many of your competitors have already figured this out. Its not rocket science). And then, figure out how to get your parts faster. Your turnaround time takes me back to the 1860s. Its absurd. Thankfully we didnt buy these appliances, the previous owners did. But I cannot wait to replace them. My plan is to take all 4 Viking appliances to Burning Man and set them on fire.

I’ve had a Viking range for around the last 17 years. It kinda stopped working really well and I purchased a new one. I like the way the new range looks. But I had to have it replaced for a scratch. Then, the oven wasn’t heating up properly. I had them come out and look at it, which took a couple of days. Before, the oven would just turn off and they fixed something. However, the oven is still not staying as hot as it’s supposed to be.

I had a Viking range that lasted for 18 years, which was great. When we replaced all our appliances, we stayed with the whole Viking line, ‘cause we got a discount. They included the refrigerator if you bought the range. However, when they plugged the refrigerator that they installed, it didn’t work. It didn’t even come on. Then we got into a little argument with the guy and told him that they gotta take the refrigerator out if it doesn’t work because P.C. Richard, where we bought it, said that they should not leave it there. But they made good and they came back the next day with another refrigerator. At the same time, the range didn’t work either. I had gotten into a big argument with Viking headquarters and P.C. Richard that the range doesn’t work and they didn’t believe me so I had to wait a couple of days to get a Viking repair guy to confirm that it wasn’t working. Then, I had to wait four days for them to take the range out of my house and bring a new range. Also, theres a minor issue with the dishwasher. So, overall, the appliance purchase was a very bad experience because the guys were in my house installing everything half of the day and I gotta wait for them. We wasted five days on the whole process. Moreover, they have a Viking pots and pans set, which is $500, and I told them that they should send me a gift certificate for all the hassle that I just went through, but I never heard anything back. Lastly, the customer service reps at Viking knew everything that was going on but no one from them ever got back to me even though they told me I had to keep going to the retailer, and that was a nightmare because of the way P.C. Richard set up with inventory. Given my feelings with Viking, I have mixed emotions about recommending their products.

I build houses and I recommend Viking to all my customers. However, I didnt like the range that I got from them that I bought from Nebraska Furniture Mart. The handle on it broke and they sent out a service guy to fix it. I took a video with my phone of exactly what was wrong so there was no reason for them to come out without the part. However, the guy from Viking still came out without the part that he needed. Then, two months later, he came out with the part and fixed the unit. For three months, I had to go without my middle burner thermostat controller working, which was unacceptable for a $7,000 stove. Ive given you guys countless customers when I build homes. How am I going to be able to recommend Viking after the experience I just had?

Weve been using it for about a month now and so far, its good. The experience is absolutely great. Its pleasurable and hassle-free. I buy design magazines and Ive always liked Viking. I liked its look and the efficiency, and Ive always thought Viking lasts longer so I definitely had the idea in my mind that it was a step above Thermador. I bought it four months ago but I bought it in Kentucky and I live in Utah, so it was in transit. I just registered it and Ive had it for more than a month. I bought it mainly for exterior and the tray storage feature that could store big platters and cakes. But I ended up liking the LED feature on the inside without knowing I picked it for that. I was surprised how cool the LED lights were. When the fridge was put in initially, the circuit board had a little wire popped out and it wasn’t turning on. I thought it was going to be a big fix. The compressor worked but it wasn’t getting cold and I sent the crew away without final install because I had my house under construction back then. A man came out to repair the fridge and now its all good. Everything has been great.

When my range came there were some scratches on it and we’re having issues on getting a new one out. They keep saying they’re gonna order in the part, which they do. But then the part looks worse than the range when it was delivered. I wish they could package it differently, so that when it comes it’s better off. We bought this unit in 2005 for a new kitchen with all new appliances. My problems with this unit are numerous and varied. At first we noticed that the interior plastic parts, such as drawers broke easily. These are very expensive and there is a real gap between the cost and the apparent value of the parts. Next, mechanical and electrical parts began to break down. We needed a small fan, available online for $8 and that took all of 10 minutes to replace, that cost several hundred dollars. We have had sensors go bad for similar costs to repair, and now the freezer wont get cold enough to allow the ice maker to produce ice. I would never buy from Viking again. Their products are flimsy and delicate despite the high price. I am willing to pay more for quality, but I didnt get that quality at Viking.

Ive had my Viking range since June 2019. I had a previous high-end oven that came with the house that I bought, and when that oven was no longer able to be repaired under the warranty, I had grown accustomed to its features, and I wanted another one. And there are only a handful of high-end brands that has the same features, a Viking being one of them. I went with it being the lower maintenance and lower complexity quality brand. And I liked the style and the look of it. I don’t quite know if I’m gonna get the value out of what I paid for because they threw in a promotional free Viking dishwasher that we replaced my older, reliable dishwasher with, and it had nothing but problems, to which finally, it seems to have gotten fixed. And that has turned me off of the brand because I wondered, if the dishwasher had so many issues and seems cheaply-made, what’s the Viking brand for the range going to do down the road? My overall feeling is that I have enormous trepidation about spending the money that I did, and how long this unit is actually going to last without it costing me tons and tons of money out of out-of-pocket repairs once the warranty expires. But then again, maybe that’s their business model. Maybe that’s why I got this broken dishwasher so that I have to keep repairing it and spending money years down the road. That’s my mental state that I’m in on the Viking brand right now. And there’s really not much I can do about it at this point. So, I have to hope for the best. The other issue that I have is that there has been a concerning, unexpected behavior with the range where, sometimes, my wife or I will turn it on and set it to bake and to preheat, and we’ll come back to it 20 minutes later, and it has set itself onto the clean cycle and hasn’t heated up or anything. I actually ruined a couple of bread loaves that I was looking to throw onto the oven at that time and I couldn’t. And I had to switch it off, then on and then off. So now, I have to call the egregious Viking customer service and tell them that I have a problem although I can’t be sure. And it’s time and energy that I have to spend doing that, it’s rearranging my schedule for a repair crew. I wanted a product that works, and I’m not entirely sure I have a product that works well. I’m highly skeptical and feeling trepidatious about it. I have limited confidence that it’s going to continue to function like a new $11,000 range should for longer than a year or two. I’m living in the fear of I don’t really know what to expect outta this thing, and I don’t really know if you guys are gonna support me in my time of need for the amount of money that I paid.

Its a tough year because we bought the Viking range during COVID. We bought it last October but we couldnt get it until February or March. It was the same with our SubZero refrigerator. Its just the way it was last year. Our contractor put the range in and the ease of install was fine. They did the kitchen remodel and then, we redid counters and cabinets. The range heats up fast and even, and the stove and the burners work well. But the grates started showing wear. There are dings in it, like you dropped something on the grates or theyre torn off, and we hardly use it. The quality is not standing up to the price we paid for it. One thing I would like to have known is to burn it up before you try to cook something in it. I should have read the directions. We set off the smoke detectors. A sticker on the window might be a good idea. My wife had surgery and we had someone come to help my wife, and she was the one who used the oven first. The burners were easy to use. I had gas for the last 30 years so it was not hard so we didnt think about reading the instructions. We read them after we almost had the fire department called. Fortunately, we have good ventilation in the house and we have a Viking hood but that was what was expensive.
