When selecting our refrigerator, we went on Vikings reputation. Also, my husbands in interior design and that was also part of the reason why we chose Viking as opposed to a GE product, which we have at another house. However, we are a little disappointed with Viking. We’ve had the refrigerator for less than a year and all this stuff started happening right around a month’s time. We were having problems with the ice maker and when I called Viking repair service, they put in a service call. Somebody came out but didn’t really do anything other than change the ice maker. He said that it should be working within 24 hours but it still is not. They came for a second service call after that. The contractors follow-up was not up to what I think Viking would expect from their name though. Ive had to follow up twice with the service repair people to find out what was going on with my refrigerator. They have been telling me that they needed to order another ice maker and a different part but based on the recent weather in the Southeast, it was being delayed. There are also other things that I have to have the repair person look at. We have a bottom refrigerator and the door clicks every time we hold the door open. Other than that, I had received a part that is supposed to be on one of the doors so that you can have butter or whatever else you want to use in a climate-controlled environment. But it doesn’t fit in there and nobody that I’ve called at Viking has been able to give me an answer on how to have it fit. But other than that, we like the refrigerator, me probably more so than my husband.

This is my third time having a Viking fridge. This one is a little better. I spent a lot of money to get it right on the third time. Thats a little disappointing, but we are happy with it this time. On the first house, the ice maker was always broken. It cost me $300 a month on an average for many years. Got here to my second house, and the ice maker frozen in the bottom. It cost me $300 a month. An ice maker shouldnt be that expensive. Its a very inexpensive part. So, hopefully, we got it right this time. We got our new refrigerator at the first of the year and everything has been going pretty good. I really like the space. The Viking dealer was excellent. They really knew the product and what they were talking about. We had such a bad taste in our mouth that if it had not been for the vendor, we would have not purchased Viking. I would recommend Viking. But if it had not been for this new refrigerator and the new vendor, I would have said, Im sorry. Im purchasing somewhere else. Im purchasing something else. A Sub-Zero is what we were looking at and the new vendor made a difference.

We love our Viking range. Everything is perfect. The dealer, however, told me that we were going to have our Viking stove at a particular date. I called up and they said, “No. Its not here.” And then they said it would be on this date. When I called them up again it still was not there. So, there was a delay action and then when the individual said, “Oh, we don’t get shipments in on this particular day”, in reality, yes, they did.

I knew a couple of people who have Viking Ranges and they spoke highly of them. Viking also has a reputation that they stand behind their product and their ranges are very good at heating. However, I had a big issue when I first purchased the stove. I bought it from a store and they shipped it to the wrong place. They said that Viking had some issue then they said someone else had some issue. I was supposed to get it in November but I ended up getting it in January. I finally just called Best Buy and said I’m cancelling the order, then I placed a second order through AJ Madison which delivered it on time.I got the one with six open burners that deliver equivalent heat. So far, the stove has been great but I had two issues before with the stove. First, the oven conked out on me. I called Viking then the warranty people came over, looked at the oven, and fixed the spark igniter that was not working. The second issue was the ventilation hood and for whatever reason, the switch on it stopped working. So, the techs had to come in with a switch part. That took a little longer, though, since they said that they’re usually slow to get parts from Viking. I called them on a Monday and they were supposed to come on a Friday, but they said that they were two weeks out, so I waited a little bit. Both issues have been taken care of and Ive been very pleased with Viking.

Ive known Viking for many years then at one time, we had a good offer and my wife liked it, so we got their refrigerator. The quality of the product is good but I have a minor issue with the ice maker. Every time I call for ice, I cant get this to come out. The ice seems stuck, trapped inside between the box and the dispenser. The flap that opens up to drop the ice is always stuck. Viking has sent someone out, looked at it and said I would be ordered a new ice maker. But we have not gotten it yet. Other than the ice maker problem, the fridge performs well and everything works great.

I wanted to make sure everything matched for my wife and that my wife enjoyed it, and that it would look fine in the house that we live in, so we bought our appliances from Viking. I liked their stove and I was hoping that theirs would be better products than the other products right now. So far, nothing has broken down. I like my appliances, and everything I bought is great and excellent. At the Viking dealer, one of the salesmen helped me and as we were talking, the manager came up and then I was talking to him. They were really polite and kind and courteous. I appreciated that he took his time to explain things to me the things I would ask him about (like the warranty). Then he set up the delivery date and everything came out on time. Everything was fine. I have nothing bad to say about the people that helped me there or my whole experience with Viking. They were wonderful.

I was online looking for a dual-range stove, dual-fuel, and I came across Viking. I know people have them and are very happy with them so I went with them too. The quality was great and I love it. The biggest thing that sold me on the Viking was the burners, just being able to turn them on without having to program anything. That was one of the big features. And I have cats, so they walk on top of the stove. Most stove controls are on top but the quality of the Viking, the BTUs, the way it cooks and everything, it’s great and I really enjoy it. It has been a great experience.

For the love of God, do not spend your hard earned money on Viking applianc
For the love of God, do not spend your hard earned money on Viking appliances. I purchased an entire kitchen appliance set from an authorized dealer in 2009, spending about $20k. Within the first year of purchase, my top-of-the-line built-in fridge stopped working and it took them more than a week to repair and thank God it was under warranty. A couple of weeks ago, my dishwasher, which I have used maybe 20 times, stopped functioning. I called Viking and discovered that it only came with a 1-year warranty and that I was responsible for the labor portion. **, I spent almost 2 grand and you need to tell me that it only comes with a 2-year warranty. The following represents my email conversations with the Viking rep who basically doesnt give a ** about a customer who just 3 years ago gave them so much business:My first email to them: “Purchase Date: 08/05/09; Type of Appliance: Dishwasher; Model Number: VDB325SS. Dear Sir/Madam: Less than 3 years ago, I purchased an entire kitchen appliance set consisting of fridge, stove, hood, and dishwasher totaling close to $20k. However, I am writing to you today to express my dissatisfaction with the purchase of the dishwasher referenced above. While we have only used it about 20 times, I discovered that your company only warrants the parts for 3 years and not the labor portion. Consequently, I had to pay $305 in labor to repair the unit. To be specific, through Viking, I contacted Airflo in Van Nuys, CA, and their technician came out and upon inspection, he stated that, due to lack of frequent use, the circulation pump had gone bad. He said this was common for this type of model and to use the dishwasher at least once per week.”“The technician further stated that had I purchased the appliance just months later (early 2010), Viking would have covered both parts and labor for 3 years. Upon hearing that, I became extremely upset at the fact that here, I spent almost $2000 for a professional brand dishwasher that came only with a 1-year labor coverage which seems kind of unreasonable as this warranty is comparable to basic units costing $200. I honestly do not think I should be obligated to pay the $305 especially when months later, you decided to extend your coverage. In all fairness, taking into consideration the extraordinary circumstances, Viking should reimburse the labor charge which I paid. Thank you for your time and I hope to hear from you soon.”Their response: Im sorry for the issues you have encountered with your dishwasher. As far as the warranty, the changes to the Viking warranty were implemented on 05/01/11 not in 2010. Im sorry for the misinformation you have received. Your unit would have a full 1-year warranty from your purchase date. At the end of your warranty period, you would be responsible for the charges. Thank you.”My response: I believe my concern was not the exact date when Viking implemented the change in their warranty policy but rather your company selling a defective product, specifically, the circulation pump in my unit. It seems this is a bit too common issue based on my readings online and according to your Viking authorized repair technician statements. In fact it is so common, that the technician always carries around a couple of circulation pumps in the van when he goes out for service as more than likely, this model dishwashers stop working because of the circulation pump. In any instance, this is not a monetary issue for me, but rather a principle one. Also I dont appreciate the corporate response I received from you since as a customer, I think I deserve more. Thank you.As of yet, it has been more than one month and no response. Anyone considering purchasing Viking Appliances better think twice. This company, through its retailers, promise you the world but when you have any issues, they are nowhere to support or address your concerns. I am going to make sure that all my friends, family, co-workers, etc. know about their dirty tactics.

When I did my home over, I put in two huge Sub-Zeros, two huge, nice Vikings, Viking microwaves and everything. I was very happy except one of my Viking ovens was having issues from the beginning. I ended up having to put a few thousand dollars into it. I almost had a fire issue and it was just time to go. I wanted a new range. My husband said that they’re expensive and he’d get it for me. When it was my birthday, he asked me if I wanted a range or jewelry. I got a Viking range. The first time I turned it on, the convection broiler wasn’t working. Every time I turned the oven on, it sounded like there was a train in the house for two hours while the stuff was cooking. It was just this loud, loud noise. I called right away for service. They sent someone down and he said he was gonna change a part. I told him I was not ready to change any parts. The last time I started changing parts, the oven broke on me. If I bought a refurbished piece, I have no problem for changing parts, but when I bought a brand new piece, I don’t wanna have to start dealing right away with parts that are changing. It was just not fair.He started telling me, “Yeah, whatever.” When they came down again for service, he told me three new parts have to be changed. I called the company where I bought the stove from and told them, I don’t want this range. And if it means paying more and getting a different model, I would like to do that. First they started telling me, “Maybe don’t take a Viking.” I said, “Yeah, but my other appliances are Viking. I want it to match. I’m ready to pay extra to get a higher model. I don’t care, but I don’t want this piece in my home. It’s causing problems. It could cause a fire. I don’t want it.”I could barely walk as I just had a knee replacement. And this is what I’m doing in order to recover. I’m worrying that if the thing goes up in flames, I won’t be able to get out of my house. And altogether, I’m so pissed because this was my gift. I would’ve bought a refurbished piece. I put a brand new piece from day one. I called them before 30 days. I want it out and I want a new piece in my home. Even the people I bought it from at Drimmers said, “We’re calling, and we understand, and we see that you have bought, in the past, Vikings. We understand that you’re not trying anything. Let them take it back.” They were calling for me also and were not getting through to anyone. Vikings didn’t call them back.I called Viking directly. They asked me why was I calling and not the person I bought it from. I said, “Because when they called, you guys told them that there’s nothing you could do. What does that mean, there’s nothing you could do? I bought a brand new piece.” I told them I would like to speak to the manager directly. They said she was not in and someone would call me back within the next 48 hours. I did not receive a call back even. I had to call back again to find out what was going on. Before I purchased my piece now, I would’ve recommended them, and that’s why I was purchasing it again. But right now, I wouldn’t recommend it just because I don’t know if I would want any of my friends to go through what I’m going through now. I’m very, very upset. Im very dissatisfied.

Viking customer service, should be called customer LACK OF SERVICE. 30-40 minute hold times on phone, lack of knowledge of product parts. Viking has discontinued the part for an 8 year old dishwasher, and only resolve is to charge you for a new appliance, with less discount than I can get at big box store and a charge for installation. Do not use Chesterfield Appliance for Viking repairs. Overpriced and not knowledgeable about product.

30 months ago I bought a new built apartment in the Dominican Republic that came with a new 48 Viking professional refrigerator. It started to malfunction (not cold enough, not making ice cubes, making loud noises and not refrigerating altogether) soon after we got it. Kitchen Center in Santo Domingo, who supplied it, did not want to do anything about it pretending that the 12 months warranty had passed. Kitchen Center finally agreed to replace it with a new one at the condition that I pay them an extra USD $7,500.00 which I did. The new fridge is also malfunctioning and has the same issues. A Viking representative offered to change it about 4 months ago but Kitchen Center does not want to honor this promise.

Viking Professional Microwave VMOC205WH - Purchased this $1000 microwave as a Christmas gift for my wife in 2010. It replaced a 20 year old microwave (that still worked). Will not pop popcorn to this day. My wife noticed a place in back that looked like rust a couple of years ago. It has progressively gotten worse. I finally contacted Viking and told them that their stainless steel (inside) was rusting. I was given a Viking service center to contact. It had started sparking inside at rust occasionally. The tech came out and said he was not going to charge service charge because it was obviously a manufacturer defect. Stainless steel is not supposed to rust. He took photographers and turned in report to Viking. I called Viking and they said they needed photographs, to which I replied, the tech has already sent them. Approximately two months later, I received a call from tech service center (not Viking) that Viking was waiting for receipt. I contacted the store that I purchased the microwave and after much searching, found invoice and forwarded it to tech center who sent it to Viking. Their response was it was out of warranty. I had a 20 year old $200 microwave that performed well, yet this top of the line Professional unit didnt make it two years and then would not stand behind their product. Getting ready to replace stove and refrigerator. Guess which brand that will not be considered? Very disappointed. The place where I purchased unit said that Vikings service was horrible. I can certainly testify.

My Viking Range was in the home when I bought it. The stove is fantastic except when you need something repaired, it takes them forever. The handle fell off so the whole door had to be replaced. The stove was under warranty and Viking responded quickly but it was hard to get the repairs done. My electric door is on backorder and when I asked them about how long the backorder was gonna be, no one could tell me anything. It was a breakdown in communication and they won’t give me the actual number of the Viking warehouse. I can call Viking customer service but I cannot get Viking warehouse to find out where they were gonna ship or when I could expect to get it. That has been going on for three to four weeks and it’s way too long for the price that I pay for. I cook every day and I love the way the range cooks but it’s all a racket because the stuff should not even be falling apart like this. I couldn’t even use my oven. I can use the stove but I can’t risk making the door work because the glass may actually fall. I knew about Viking before I moved into my home. It is a good brand but it’s way too expensive what I happen to go through for repairs. I also have a Viking refrigerator and the handle came off. They said they would have to replace the whole door for $500 and that part was no longer under warranty. So we Gorilla glued the handle back on and it was pretty good. Viking does what they’re supposed to do but when I need a repair, it’s awful.

They were very responsive and helped us make the right selections on our appliances in general and the Viking refrigerator in particular. Weve been very pleased with the Viking refrigerator. My husband knew a long time ago about Viking Refrigerators and we did some comparison with Wolf. We liked the looks of Wolf and the pricing was about the same. We wanted to go for Wolf, but they only do the built-in refrigerator, so we looked at Viking. We went to Midwest TV and Appliances and I liked the salesman, although she didn’t really influence my purchase because when we went there, we knew what we wanted at that point.I really liked Viking. I liked the look also and they have the freestanding refrigerator, so we decided to buy everything from Viking -- a freestanding range, a freestanding refrigerator, and a wine cellar. We got for free our dishwasher and we got the hood, which was with the ventilator. We also bought the fan plus the hood and we were very happy with it. We havent figured out the wine cellar because it is not very clear how to set up the temperature, but other than that, we are very happy with it. I also bought some of their cookware from the website and I like the pans and the other stuff. The core in our freestanding range came broken, but they said its still good if I plug it. It took around six weeks to get the core and for them to come and replace it. Our oven in our range, because it is brand-new, still has the oily smell, so it bothers me when we use the oven, but everything is looking good and we are very happy with our appliances. Viking is a good brand and I will tell my friends to buy Viking. I have some friends and they are renovating their house. They are so excited about Wolf, but I told them they could try with Viking, it’s nice and it’s quality. I will recommend them to go directly to Viking showroom. It really helps if you go directly to the Viking store instead of going to a dealer that has different brands. The reps will pay more attention to you. Otherwise, youre gonna do so much research online.

Im not very happy with any of my Viking appliances that I got with my house
Im not very happy with any of my Viking appliances that I got with my house. I used to live in California where I had all the Viking high-end appliances and they were great. Then, I moved here in Washington and the builder offered to put Viking for me and they were the most basic model of appliances. Originally, it wasnt Viking thats in our home and I wanted to switch out the dishwasher. The builder said, I ordered 28 sets of appliances for my other projects and I have one set extra cause I only needed 27. I can put that in your house. I agreed because its Viking and Ive had them in the past, but I didnt get to see what models they were or pick which one it is.The refrigerator was so poorly-made and it got dents on the freezer drawer. I was showing a guy the dents of my refrigerator. He said, That actually wasnt made by Vikings. Its all Whirlpool stuff in there. I was like, That explains it. Also, my stove didnt work right, and I had to have a plumber and a dishwasher guy come over to fix my dishwasher. These appliances are only three years old and we dont abuse them. We run them properly and keep them clean. I felt suspicious of the place where my builder bought my appliances from. I wonder if they gave him leftover or rejected batches because it seems that my appliances are and that store is closed down now. However, I like the double doors because Ive never had that before and so then I could open just one side to get my things out. Given that, I would recommend Viking in general but people should buy the highest end since the low-end ones arent that great.

I purchased Viking appliances in November 2009 - dishwasher, refrigerator, stove. My dishwasher has not been working since the beginning of July 2013 despite 4 visits by a tech and numerous phone calls to the extended warranty company and Viking. It was also repaired in 2010 and 2011. My refrigerator is also on its third repair and is failing to keep a consistent temperature... It is either freezing food or else keeping food in the 40-42 degree range. These are marketed as Professional appliances and certainly do not live up to this reputation. I discourage all consumers from purchasing Viking appliances... They come with a hefty price tag and leave the consumer frustrated, disillusioned and dissatisfied.

Viking VDB451. Nothing but problems since purchase installed October 2012. Unit would not run on a GFCI breaker, had the technician out several time then called the factory and they said take it off GFCI breaker. Viking was out again for a blower issue. Now the dishwasher will not complete any of the cycles. After 3 years of use the technician is blaming a 30 discharge extension that was installed back in 2012. Will never buy another Viking product again. I have 8 repair receipts between diagnosing and ordering parts.

I purchased a Viking range a few years ago. Two of the stove top burners have stopped working. The replacement boards to fix problem are $1200.00 just for the parts, and Viking cannot guarantee they will work, AND they will not let us return parts if they dont work. I would NOT buy these overpriced, underperforming units again.

Weve had Viking before so we decided we want to have Viking again when we moved. We bought the Viking refrigerator and the gas stove. When we had a problem, it was taken cared of and weve always been satisfied. We had a little bad luck with the refrigerator because at first it had a dent in the door so it was returned. The ice maker, light, freezer, and the fan continue running on the second one so that was returned again. Weve got our third one since June the 26th and its now working great.

My builder put in the Viking products and Ive had a lot of problems with them. One of the ovens is totally incomplete. I spoke with the local Viking authorized dealer and they were willing to give me a 25% discount on the part. I told them that they should give me a 25% discount on the all-new Viking Range because its a disaster and I dont wanna have to pay twice for it now. But they wont cooperate. Also, my Viking refrigerator is leaking again. My experience with Viking has been bad because it cost a fortune to fix anything. Its $750 just to move the appliance away from the wall. Ive also had multiple leaks, and its difficult to get people that work on Viking work efficiently and effectively with Viking.

Viking 6-burner Gas Range - Viking authorized repairman has been out twice
Viking 6-burner Gas Range - Viking authorized repairman has been out twice for my 6-year-old Viking, each time to replace all ignitors and the seal around the door glass. This is extremely expensive and unbelievable that a commercial range cannot take a daily 20-minute usage of the broiler without wearing out in 3 years time. The excuse I was given was that most people dont broil and their stoves last much longer; and that they mostly go out to dinner. What kind of bologna is this? I wouldnt mind repairing it every 3 years because it really does cook food very well when it is working, but the last time I had it repaired, which was a week ago, it cost me about $800 and I expect it will be even higher in the next 3 years! Isnt there a way for all of us to do a class action lawsuit against Viking? Please let me know if this is in the works because there are so many of us with the same story.

We have had Viking for the past 12 years. I chose to buy Viking because I love to cook and I love the way you can cook and the refrigeration and the ovens work. This refrigeration we have has improved a lot from the one that we had before. My favorite thing about it is that the fruits last a little bit longer than a regular refrigerator and that the door works better because it’s make out of solid material. But I’ve been having a lot of trouble taking the stickers out of the inside of the refrigerator. I had tried everything and I still have two and a half stickers that I haven’t been able to take away. Also, its a little expensive but I will highly recommend Viking.

Got on this website to see if others have had issues with Viking Refrigerators. Our house came with a Viking Pro, but it had so many problems. Viking sold us a newer one at a discount. Now, the replacement is doing the same things - erratic temperatures, spoiling food, alarm goes off, constant calls for repairs (and expense) - such that we have not been able to use it for months. Thank God for an over 25 year old Hotpoint fridge that we have had in our garages in several homes across the country but has never has had a problem. I can see that others have had issues and while I am glad to learn that, I am at a loss as to why a company that once had, I thought, a good reputation, is not seriously concerned and doing something about it. Is the company going under?

Ive known about Viking for years but its always been out of my price range. I was able to find a good deal at Pauls Appliances in Newark so I went for it because it is the best for sure. The dealers there were just great. They were very helpful and was telling me all the great things about Viking, so I chose it. They were very knowledgeable about Viking. I love my refrigerator. I like it when you open the doors, the lights come on slowly. And I also like that it has a separate door that I can program for like wine or something else. It is great and I ever move, I am taking it with me.

My first Viking range got damaged in shipping. The frame got bent and they had to put a new plate at the bottom. The door was warped too and it wouldnt close. Viking wanted a second opinion and the tech came out and confirmed that the range was damaged. Viking then sent a new one in which came within a week. However, the second was damaged too and the kickpipe at the bottom was bent. So, they put a new one. Thus far, I love the burners. On our old range, only one of the burners got hot. The other wouldnt boil water so I love the fact that both of my burners this time around are both really high-powered. Customer service at Viking has been good too. When they put the first range in, the top was scratched. When they put the second one in, it was scratched too and theyre replacing the top of the range currently. I figured that when their crew slides the range in, their guys belt buckle would scratch the top of the range because the scratches are in the same spot. Still, Viking took care of everything and I love my oven. Id definitely get a Viking again.

I wanted a classic gas stove and didnt want one with computers. The Viking range was simple and that was why I got it even though it was not as good as Wolf. But I had a question about the product because it was so hard to see one. I got the cheapest 30-inch range and the showrooms had none. I was told by a Ferguson person that there was two of this one and so she called and said, Oh, ones not supposed to be there, they have upgraded it. I called Vikings to find out what they changed because the price was lower. The rep was short with me and she wasnt the best customer service. Also, when I was buying it, I was told there was nobody to service it in Williamsburg. I told them that Port City does and so the rep called them and they go, Yeah, we work on them. They even put it down on my sales receipt. The day after I got it, I roasted a bunch of vegetables and there was moisture in between the glass on the oven door. It didnt go away for four days. I called Ferguson and they called Port City who sent a guy out. My stove has a middle burner thats oblong and its one of the lowest BTUs. This one wouldnt light like the other one. The repair guy said that it was the same as the round one but there were more holes and that was normal. The installers said they were gonna replace the glass thing in the middle. But its never done it again and now, Im worried and Im afraid to say, Dont fix it cause theyll say later, Oh, you wouldnt let us fix it. The moisture does dissipate eventually and I have faith in my repair guy that hell do it right cause Ive known him for years. But since the day I got the oven until now, I still dont have the part. Other than that, everything seems fine to me.

Our new house came with the upgraded package of Viking, but the range never worked. The stove wouldn’t light and we couldn’t keep it lit. It took us almost a year of repeated people coming out. We couldn’t get it right and it was because of multiple things. When they put it in, they got the wrong backing and it took three different people just to get that right. It was a huge relief when Viking replaced the stove for us. I like the stove, but when its on the blower is so strong that I can’t put a low heat on my stove top. If I have the oven on, I can’t put low on the burners because the blower blows into the burners. The repair people that we had were polite and professional and I dont fault them in any way. It was one of them that helped me get the new range. But Im disappointed and I will never buy a Viking again.

The dealer, Mario, did an awesome job of telling us all the benefits. We ended up going with Viking because he said that they stood behind their product and he had never heard complaints from anyone. That was the bottom line where we ended up buying 30 some thousand dollars of equipment there from Best Buy. I bought an entire kitchen of Viking. We have a microwave, a wine cooler, the gas range and the hood. So, all we need is a ship now to be a complete Viking. The Viking refrigerator is good although some of the soft close drawers on the bottom of the refrigerator dont exactly soft close but Im not gonna go crazy over that as much as that thing cost us. I also had some issues with the icemaker but we got that resolved and it was more of a connection issue. We had some issues with our dishwasher and we had to have it replaced. But since the purchase, one of the screws on the hinge at the top part of the main refrigerator door keeps getting loose and causing a grating noise when we open or close the door. The many repair people we have met since we bought this Viking Dishwasher in 2014 love to tell us how its impossible to troubleshoot, and breaks all the time. We replaced our old and very good Viking Dishwasher- that dated back to 2005 or so with one from 2014 when it needed a new pump at the urging of a sketchy repair guy. For this newer one we needed to rinse thoroughly the dishes prior and use all kinds of boosting products. (Lemi Shine). We had frequent service calls. It now needs $800 worth of repair for possibly 1) Moisture sensors, 2) drain pump or a 3) new panel, maybe. If its all three then its more than 1,400 dollars. These are repairs no reputable company can do within 3 -4 weeks. But we did have one guy come, charge us $125 (less than the going rate so we were thrilled, for a moment) and ask for stop tips. But he didnt fix it. And then he left to go on a cruise. Literally. We use this place as a part-time house so this is the second vacation we have spent doing dishes for the whole household + guests by hand. That and calling Dishwasher repair people. Sometimes they come and fix it and it breaks again, a few moments after they drive away and lose cell service, conveniently. The consultations in our area with reputable companies a minimum of $150 without a repair -- just to look--even if you have had someone else diagnose. They still refuse to bring anything on the truck to help fix it in one shot. The old one was great. It was loud and sounded like a hurricane but it really washed dishes. Its 20/20 hindsight but I bet the repair guy knew all this as he counseled us so hard to take it off our hands. The new ones are not good.I heard Viking switched to a new manufacturer (I hear its Asko now, but I do not know), or to a lesser quality from that manufacturer. Once they are (expensively) repaired they can last a while--but this is all rumor. In the meantime they are impossible to troubleshoot and you can analyze the manual all you want, nothing works. You cannot even manually drain it. So I recommend only buying this if you are actually an appliance repair person yourself or have one in the family. Kind of like owning a vintage automobile. But not nearly as fun. Not exactly a wind in your hair kind of experience. More like a dishpan hands one. While you look outside thinking of all the things youd rather be doing. So in short, park your ego and do not buy this machine. Unless you really love to do dishes by hand while you look at a Viking label in your kitchen. You can thank me. We finally decided to buy a Sears Kenmore with a stainless steel front and a 5-year service warranty. I added that to never pay that $150 dollar service fee for no work for a long time. Including installation, delivery and the 5-year warranty it cost less than the estimated repair cost of this one. Oh and there were no guarantees on the repair. And I did tell you the repair guy is on a cruise until after we leave. This review was based on Viking Model 032715-0000. PS. Its hard to tell from the images I posted but the bottom is flooded. Drain is cleaned, as are pipes checked. You cannot reset it to get it to drain following instructions in the manual. Note huge pile-up of dishes on counter. This has been our life this vacation. Hurray for Sears. Thank you! We cannot wait.

Its something you can see and it stands out a little bit. And theres no easy way to adjust in and out and get things in perfect plane. I would have preferred French doors because I could have gotten a full sheet tray in the refrigerator. Whereas with the side-by-side, I cant. Ive had a Viking stove for the past 10 years and I was pretty pleased with the product. And I bought a Viking dishwasher because my old dishwasher, that was approximately over 20 years old, went. So, when my built-in refrigerator went as well, I got a Viking refrigerator because I said, Im just gonna get a Viking. Everything else is Viking. I got my Viking refrigerator through P. C. Richard. In fact, I bought pretty much all my appliances through them and theyve been pretty good.I love my Viking refrigerator. Its roomy and holds a lot. So far, its a great product, so Im happy. I like the fact that the lighting is wonderful. You can see everything thats in it. In addition, I like the way that they have the drawers stacked. I have extra room to put other things in that I couldnt do with my other refrigerator because I had a side-by-side refrigerator then. I was putting in a high-end kitchen and purchased all Viking products. Theyre industrial feeling. I like the size and capacity of the refrigerator. I also like the way it looks and the ability for it to be built into the kitchen. However, Best Buy managed to make the experience very difficult. There was a significant delay in a lot of the products and they couldnt figure out how to get updates. I ended up finding the 1-800-VIKING number and calling them directly to find out what was going on. I got updates myself because Best Buy acted like their hands were tied in the process. Then Viking doesnt have support and service in my area other than Best Buy to install it, which makes the experience poor. So, even when I got my refrigerator installed, Best Buy acted like they werent gonna be able to do it. They gave me a hard time about it ‘cause I didnt have cabinets in that they wanted. I had to escalate it just to get them to install it. It was so troublesome. I had the same issue with the hood for my range. But Best Buy ended up compensating me by giving complimentary five-year warranties on all my products. They also gave me a free range for about three months during the delay of the range from Viking because the delivery deadline was so different than what they originally communicated to me. They redeemed themselves, but it doesnt change their inability to deal with the process during the process.

I have had a Viking stove for about 30 years. When I went into a store, I saw that there were Viking displays and the refrigerator really looked very nice. I needed the built-in one because I was taking out the bad old built-in. The Viking refrigerator had all the features I wanted and had good quality parts and interior too. The ice machine is in the freezer. And I like the ice to be in the tray where I could scoop it out. I got a side-by-side that looks good in my kitchen. I like the same feel and that it was constructed with a simple design. I also like the clean stainless steel doors and the way its very vertical and tall. I hope that it would last a very long time. If it does, then Id be happy. My experience with the dealer was pretty good but they dont use the best people to do the installation. Their people are not really specialized for Viking. We had an old FiveStar 48-inch and we were the second owner and it was on its last legs, so we decided to get a new one instead of spending a lot of money fixing it up. But of course we had a 48-inch space, so we needed a big oven to fill that space instead of redoing the counters. My wife looked at Wolf, Thermador, and the likes and they were all comparably priced. Viking was on the higher end, but one of the main things that had my wife decide was that she was able to get it in colors. Also, she had worked in the restaurant business before and had used Viking on the commercial side. So she knew that they held up and they lasted. The Viking Range works as advertised. It has a griddle and a convection feature. It also has a small oven for a casserole dish and a big one that would fit a full-size cookie sheet with room to spare. The lighting is nice in the inside and the control panel works well. Another thing with the dealer is that it seems like nobody knows what anybody else is talking about. But thats a lot of times in any customer service department. You talk with somebody in customer service who authorizes a new filter to be sent out then somebody in the parts department says you have to pay for the filter. Its just kinda running back and forth. We purchased a 30 inch Viking Gas Range about 5 years ago and were so impressed with it we bought their dishwasher 2 years later. What a mistake. The dishwasher was very quiet and we did not realize the pump was running continuously. The electric bill soared and we finally realized it was running. I called Viking to find local service and they tried to send me to a repair service about 100 miles from where I live. When we found the local authorized repair service they pulled it out and found a very small moisture sensor in the bottom tray under the dishwasher was to blame. The repairman could not get any information on when Viking could send the part. When I followed up directly with Viking parts, I was told they would get back to me, but never did. I was eventually told by Vikings authorized repairman to throw it out. $2,400 for a 3 year old dishwasher and it was useless. I replaced it with a Bosch. Now it is the gas range. The oven wont light, the burners wont light first time and the grill goes out. We replaced the electronic thermostat ($378) and it initially worked, but has now reverted to pumping gas into the house without ignition or resignation if we manage to get it going. Viking neither stands behind their products nor have a value even close to their costs. They could give these things away free and they would not be worth the risk to life.

We love our Viking Refrigerator so far. The size is great because it is a really tall one. And of course, side by side is good. The only thing is that the side door where the butter is held, on occasion, if I put butter in there whatever keeps that door closed isnt strong enough and it pops open and the butter falls out every once in a while. But overall the refrigerator is restaurant quality, and Viking is professional. And when I originally mailed in the warranty and I had to call because I have the wrong address, whoever helped me there was wonderful.

Viking Refrigerator DDSB548SS - Bought the refrigerator on 2012. I live alone and am very careful with my things. All is working well except for the door shelves. These are made from plastic with a glass at front. Two months after the fridge was installed, the plastic on the door shelves started to crack and disintegrated into very small pieces. All broke within a year; theres four shelves in total. All are broken and cost about $250 a piece.

The quality has been pretty good. Their features are the same as any other brand but as far as what Ive heard, Viking is very efficient. Initially, we had a problem with the smell of gas. Every time we turned our range on, only part of the burner tube was lighting up and the other one wasnt. When the Viking guy came, he showed us what was happening. He told us to turn the oven all the way up to 450, then bring it down to the temperature that we want. After that, we have not had any issue.

We got a slide in six-burner, dual-fuel Viking range, which I absolutely love. Its fantastic. I havent had any problems with it. The hood is great. I felt like the Viking was more substantial. It was a little bit better built. I tried the Wolf, and I felt like the knobs on the Wolf were not as solid. They felt more jiggly. The Viking range felt very solid. When I pushed it in and turned it in, its all super solid. Im very satisfied. It was a very expensive range, but it is fantastic.

We absolutely love Viking Ranges. My dad had a Viking range and hood for about 15 years and he loved it. He’s an avid cooker and that’s what sold us on Viking. And we’ve not been disappointed. They’re wonderful and fabulous. We went through Best Buy in Fort Lauderdale and they ordered everything for us. We’ve got the range that’s gas, which we were thrilled to get here in Florida since there is no natural gas. We had to put in propane to get that. We’ve also got the hood and the Viking microwave. We didn’t have the microwave for a period because of a problem with the display, but it works fine now. Other than that, it’s great.I also love that the stove top is incredibly easy to clean up. I just have to take the grates right off. We had a décor stove top in our previous house in New Mexico and that one was awful to clean. I like that the gas stove, as well as the oven, seems to cook evenly too. We’re always showing off our Viking appliances. We have pictures of them which we show to people.

Gas Range model VGCC5366BSS installed Oct. 2013. Oven continually failed due to fried control module. The module was replaced over a dozen times, and during one period where we were waiting for parts, the company installed a temporary 30 range of the same model, and it failed within 2 months for the same reason. The repairman set up surge protectors, ran a new electrical circuit, had the utility monitor for electrical surges, and had us use a door wedge to hold the oven door tightly closed (the last theory was that heat was escaping from the oven and burning the circuit board). I just found out today (not from Viking!), that there is a huge recall on Viking and Brigade freestanding gas ranges (US & Canada), including my model. Go to Consumer Product Safety Commission (US), or Healthycanadians.gc.ca.

We’ve had a Viking range for 12 years. We compared Sub-Zero and Viking when we looked to replace our freezer and refrigerator. Viking was more affordable so we went with them. However, the quality is not the best. Our Sub-Zeros that we replaced were older models and they were built better back then than they are today for both. The temperature is not consistent and some of the settings arent correct. The freezer will go anywhere from 10 degrees above zero to 10 degrees below zero even set on a fairly high setting. It’s wasting a lot of energy. Overall, theyre very nice looking but Im not impressed with the quality, not for the price.

Everything was great. The Viking dealer was very friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. The range is perfect and has excellent quality. It was sturdy, perfectly flamed, and keeps the temperature. Installed a Viking kitchen including dishwasher 4 years and 11 months ago. Dishwasher failed just short of 5 years. Viking service came out & advised that electrical components, wiring harness and rubber seal failed. I paid $180 for service call and Viking refused to help in any way to repair the dishwasher. Service advised me that replacement was the only practical option as multiple repairs necessary would be cost prohibitive. We are very disappointed in Viking quality (except for range). Purchase Viking products at your own risk is my advice. Many better options are available in the price range they market their products in.

I went to a company thats a distributor of Viking Ranges and their reps were very good and patient, so I ordered from them. Their salesman was not having to win me, but he kept in touch with me and was very good. The range was installed a couple of months ago and I love its sturdiness. I like its quality and burners, too. Its features are really simple. However, they set the igniter too far away and it wasnt adjusted properly from the factory. So, I had to call them to adjust that and my experience went smoothly. I would recommend Viking Ranges.

This refrigerator is a disaster! The ice maker has broken repeatedly since Ive owned it. Repair calls and bills for that and it still doesnt work. The plastic handles on the bins are all broken. When you pull on them to open the drawers, they break. And the worse thing? It leaks. I have thousands of dollars of damage to my bamboo floor. After having this repaired, I see that the pan under the refrigerator fills up with water every few days. This is a refrigerator, not a high tech device. The engineering should be mundane. Ive had other refrigerators from GE that are far less expensive that never needed servicing. Nothing with this refrig works and I dont understand how this company could release it for sale, not have a recall, not replace them, not offer money back. The product is totally defective.I see that many others on this site have experienced the same problem. I am considering instituting a class action lawsuit. If you are interested, please let me know. It is unethical, bad business and fraudulent for the company to sell defective products and then not stand behind them.

Viking dishwasher (we have an all Viking kitchen) has disappointed me twice now in 5 years of ownership. Hoses that are internal to the cabinet just come off which results in leaks. Since this model has a catch pan, a float will result in the dishwasher staying in drain mode. Ive found that short non-barbed plastic nipples will allow hoses to come off over time. Poor design on what otherwise could have been a nice unit since it did a great job cleaning dishes. I just purchased a new unit from another company.

Ive known about Viking forever and I chose them because of the aesthetics of their pieces, their higher quality and that they would last longer. I like the height of the refrigerator I got and the size of the shelf because its easy to reach everything. However, I had a frustrating incident with their product which I never had with my old crap refrigerator. It appeared that somehow ice had formed in the circulation system between the freezer and the refrigerator, which caused the refrigerator to not be able to cool down. It took many weeks and two different people to come out to try to fix it. There was no sense of urgency. Viking was recommending the first repair company that didnt work on weekends, which was unheard of. Viking also didnt have enough time slots open to serve everyone. The fridge was fixed but there was a runaround in terms of payment and the Viking people didnt seem to know what they were doing. Viking needs to up its customer service game. They cant charge what they do for a refrigerator and not have 24/7 phone support and people who know what theyre doing on the other end. In this day and age, they cant meet the expectations. Thats not acceptable for this kind refrigerator at this cost. I could have gotten a better service with Sears or GE. I wont be buying a Viking again and I would go with somebody else just on the customer service experience Ive had with them. Overall, the refrigerator is a beautiful product but there is no support for it.

We purchased the DMOC in 2007 (no longer available). Beginning in 2009 the problems began. First, a fuse. Then the wiring circuit was bad, followed by the door switch which was faulty.. was repaired. Then replaced a fuse again (same one), and it quit again a week ago. We called the Viking Southwest President and spoke with him. Unsympathetic, unapologetic, he informed me that microwaves only have an anticipated lifespan of 6.5 to 7.5 years - the 10 that we have read about! He stated he would get the record of repairs from their authorized service company (whom we did use!) and he would get back us. No call back. We called again and left a message 4 days after our initial conversation. No call back. Today, a new convection microhood from the competition was installed!

I’ve owned Viking before, and I like the features they had on this particular model. It’s easy to purchase. But Ive had to contact them multiple times. It’s a piece of garbage. It’s broken multiple times. We have a two oven model. The oven will go into self-cleaning mode and lock, even though we’re not trying to clean, we’re trying to cook. And it’ll take days to get the oven unlocked with food stuck in it. Ovens will just die because they won’t heat properly. We have the electric oven with the gas burners. And so, we’ve had failure to heat multiple times as well, with defective relays, defective elements. It’s also very hard to get a serviceperson to come. And when they come, they dont fix it. One problem has recurred and not been repaired several times, and then, I had another problem as well. They always try to charge me for the call, even though it was under warranty. Weve had our Viking for years now since we renovated our kitchen. I love the look of it as well as the induction cooktop. It is incredible. But in the last year, we spent thousands of dollars on getting both the panels of our induction cooktops replaced. The guy that I called at Viking was awesome and he helped get it through. That one was covered under warranty. But there was a stocktake that happened right before Thanksgiving and Viking shut down for it. That meant that parts didn’t ship for weeks and weeks. Who shuts down a cooking warehouse for stocktake the week before Thanksgiving? It’s the most important food holiday in the entire country. What kind of management decision was that? It was insane. We didn’t get the part for our range until after Thanksgiving. We got the first side fixed just before Christmas. And then about three months ago, the other one went out and. That wasn’t under warranty anymore and that cost us over $1,300. The same thing happened with the part too. The guy gave the part but Viking sent the wrong one. The guy came and installed it, but it didn’t work. He then got another part. It came back and it still wasn’t working. He finally figured out that time that they sent the wrong part. The guy came back a third time. It was like a complete saga. I had to be home four times to get the second side fixed. Viking range is incredibly expensive. We probably could’ve bought a range for a third of the price. I expected this thing to last for 30 years and not have a problem with it. But since these induction panels started going out, it had been a nightmare. The other one that was replaced under warranty the other day is doing something funky. We have to keep an eye on it because it has a 12-month warranty on it. Also, my understanding from the text is that there are only a couple of companies in the world that make induction boards. Whatever products you buy, you’re basically getting the same induction board in there. And this one is the best. But it still seems like there are some issues with the technology. At this point in time, it’s been very disappointing overall. You don’t expect to pay for a top-of-the-line range to have to then deal with this repeatedly. When the range is working, it’s wonderful. I love it! I just don’t love that it keeps breaking and it cost me a fortune to get it fixed. It is unacceptable. The interesting thing is the company we’ve been dealing, Appliance Pros, has been pretty great although it was frustrating having to call and be told that Viking was shut down or the part was not yet shipped. We felt bad for the guy who came and fixed the last issue we had. He made four visits for one repair that could have been done in two visits. Im dissatisfied with Viking.

The Viking Refrigerator that I got is great. Its everything I thought it would be. I like the bright lights, being able to change the configuration that it has. I like the more solid material. There is one thing I wish they did have that is not there, and thats a filter for the water that goes to the ice. Cause typically the water connections are behind it, and since this is built-in, its not like a regular fridge where you can pull it out and then change the filter. I had to run a line from my reverse osmosis system to go to the back, even though theres a water connection with the spigot built into my house behind it. But everything else has been great. Through our entire dinner, we heard the fan going on and off. Another other issue was that the burners all fluttered and made noise. We had our propane company come out and check the pressure of our propane and everything was fine. But we couldn’t get it to simmer without it going out and we couldn’t get it on high, even the highest flame without it fluttering. It never worked properly. However, the oven stopped working two months ago and they couldnt get it right for about a month. When they sent the part, it was the wrong one. We did a kitchen remodel and the person whom we were using to do the kitchen was the distributor for Viking. We got a Viking Refrigerator but then it woke me up last night as there is some sort of sensor that goes off and sets the alarm off. We have already had this sensor fixed once and now its broken again. Additionally, the drawer doesnt seem to shut right. The way freezer drawers work should be that they slide really easily, regardless if theres a lot of weight. However, after two weeks of operation, our freezer drawer has slowed down to the point where we have to push it with effort to get it to close.Viking has tried to have that fixed and nobody has been able to fix it. They contract with local repair people who have been very responsive. These repair people have addressed the issues, as reported but then theres still some sort of sensor that fails. The problem wasnt too bad when the sensor was going off at 7:00 AM or 8:00 AM. However, it has been going off at 3:22 in the morning and its annoying. There are beeping sounds coming from the kitchen thats surrounded by hardwood floors. The techs who have come have replaced several pieces the last time they came out. The problem with the sensor stopped for two or three weeks after that but then started again.

I purchased the VGCC5304BSS Professional Range and had it professionally installed. We immediately noticed a very strong gas smell. Viking sent their service person out (who complained to me about having to drive so far). The oven was not lighting because the spark plug was not positioned properly. It still has gas smell and the knobs get hot when the oven is in use. Viking sent another service person who adjusted the burners and grounded the oven igniter, still there’s the gas smell. We had the gas company out numerous times to check for leaks. They have said the problem was with the regulator inside the range. I contacted Dale Person, VP for Business Development and his office assigned Bonnie ** as our contact. Bonnie does not answer her phone, does not return calls, and does not care one bit that my house gets filled with propane gas. Since their service company, Distinctive Appliances, has only 1 person for Viking service, and he must service 4 states, the earliest he can get to my house is April 4th! When I decided to redo my kitchen, I decided to go with Viking Refrigerator
When I decided to redo my kitchen, I decided to go with Viking Refrigerators to try it out. I also bought Viking range, French door oven, dishwasher. I had the fridge installed and then I had a new cabinet put in and being a first time Viking Refrigerators owner I was very disappointed when the installers pulled it away from the wall and it bent the feet underneath. We did not know it needed to be lowered. Even the contractors who do kitchens all the time did not know that it had to be lowered first.I haven’t used my refrigerator in a month. I got a brand new kitchen but I can’t use the fridge because I’m trying to determine how to get this thing fixed. I called Viking Refrigerators, they referred me to a place called High End Appliances. I called them, they came out, looked at it, and when they gave me the estimate. They were saying it was going to cost like $1,500 to fix it and the Viking Refrigerator was $10,000. I was going to call Viking Refrigerators and share with them the situation in detail. Supposedly the issue was not a manufactures defect. I don’t understand why it can’t be a part of that warranty but as far as the Viking Refrigerators repair person says through High End Appliances, it could not be covered unto warranty. I think that the customer needs to know more specifically that it if a heavy duty item ever needs to be removed it will have to be lowered, because I paid for installation through BestBuy. They put it in and they knew that I was going to get my kitchen remodeled but who was going to tell me to make sure to lower it when I move it.For a major appliance like that that costs $10,000 I would expect that there should be something in writing if this item ever needs to be removed. I think there needs to be something very bold and written so that this won’t happen to someone else again. I don’t know if that should be something that was made apparent to Viking Refrigerators owners not to move this 48 inch cabinet type fridge unless you first have it professionally lowered. It’s not normal so it was a little frustrating.

The Viking Range was installed in our home and it’s been very high-qualit
The Viking Range was installed in our home and it’s been very high-quality. My favorite feature is the even heating, baking, and the temperature control. We did have to have someone come and service it though. The issue was that one of the sensors for starting the oven was incorrectly tuned so it wouldn’t catch to start. We contacted a certified service provider that was in our area that we found using their tool on the website. The technician came and fixed that fairly easily. And it was also very easy to contact the technician. And they were very helpful in terms of organizing the service. It was also still under warranty. Overall, we were very satisfied with the appliance.
