Before we purchased a range from Viking Ranges, my husband knew about the product and liked it. It was due to the companys name and because we liked the look of their product, that we went with them. We got the fridge, the oven, and the range. The range that we got is good. We havent had any issues yet with it. Weve just started using it about a month ago because we have just moved into the house which was previously under construction. For the last month, the range has been working fine. However, I surely wont ever buy a Viking product again because Ive tried to get through to Customer Service to tell them that I have a problem with my fridge, was on the phone for 40 minutes, and spoke to five different people, but I never got anywhere. So, Im not happy with Viking. Moreover, nobody in the area where we live in Toledo, Ohio, which is not a small city, will service and fix Viking products because of the experience that theyve had with the company. So, I have to go an hour away to get somebody to come in.

When we bought the house, it was a new construction. Apple Homes has been building since the Truman administration and we went with the quality and reputation of the builder. Ive had a number of different houses and appliances like Wolf, Thermador, Sub-Zero and LG. The appliances I was really satisfied with was Wolf but Ive always wanted Viking. Then this house had Viking and one of the considerations when we bought it was having the appliances we liked. We had used the Viking range for almost a year and then it freaked everybody out during a dinner party, because as my girlfriend opened it up, the door literally came off in her hand and when she let down, it hit the floor pretty hard. The range is a Professional and it has a heavy door. It was lucky it didnt land on her foot as the door couldve broken it. There was only one service tech in this area and that’s who came out and put the door on. He also said that when it was installed, it may not have had the door adjusted right because it was bent and it fell out. From what Apple Homes told me, the installer was Viking-approved because they got it from whoever could sell Viking. Yet they did it incorrectly so its like damned if you do and youre damned if you dont.Plus, weve had problems with the Viking refrigerator too. The ice machine goes everywhere when we use it and it doesnt click off. Its just poor design. I even thought it was a Professional but the service person told us it was actually another manufacturer that did that particular model for Viking. It wasnt really a Viking. Thats very misleading and I wasnt aware of that. The service cost us $100 because when the service person came out, they said he couldnt find our warranty online and we couldnt find copies either. We had sent all the registration and we dated it from when we first moved in. So we got it again from the builder and refilled it out. However, the service guy did say that Viking might reimburse the $100 service call fee. This happened just right after our first year and Im not sure but I think appliances got more than a one-year warranty. I hope so, for something that expensive. Hopefully it wont have any other issues because we like the way it cooks. We loved the stove and we wouldve recommended it until the door fell off. When that happened, we hated it.

Ive been cooking my whole life and my parents had a couple of Viking Ranges. I went with them as well because of the quality and a specific offering that they had that included a free dishwasher. The range is excellent. I like the simplicity, the quality, and the ability to rebuild, repair over time and the lack of any real computers and microprocessors. But I have never been more disgusted in the service that I received from a company, let alone one that Ive just given $5,000 to. I interacted with tech support a couple of times. The individual I was talking with was mumbling into the phone and acted like he was doing me a favor for helping me. He acted like my questions were completely ridiculous. When I talked to somebody at a call center in India for an appliance I bought at Home Depot, they treated me better than this. I had to tell him to put me on the phone with a different tech support person but they have no further help. I talked with people in the parts department who told me I was incorrect with regards to where the data tag was for where the serial number and model number were. It was an all-around garbage experience and they will never get another dime of my money.Ive since talked to other owners of Viking products as well as some technicians and they say that this is a common trend. I have written Viking and theyve not gotten back to me. Quite frankly, my next purchase will not be a Viking because Ive never encountered such pathetic treatment of a customer, especially one who thought they were buying a luxury brand which would come along with the support. Ive just convinced somebody not to buy a Viking as a result of this because that is unacceptable to me.

Viking is a great brand and has a good reputation. My parents had a Viking range when I was a kid and we just redo our kitchen so we got our own Viking range for its price and quality. We looked at discount places and priced out Viking ranges. We bought a model from last year and we like its BTU for the burners. The overall quality is good and we love it. Our favorite feature is the burners and we have five burners now that we’ve actually all been able to use.The sales guy at the Viking dealer was great and did no pressure. He has very high professionalism and knowledge for the product. He totally helped us out and then we looked and told him that we would look somewhere else and get another quote. It was no problem with him so we went and looked at another Viking range somewhere else. We realized that what we first saw was the one that we should have bought all along so we went right back and got it. Were very happy with our Viking range and it’s simply one of those things we’re going to have for a very long time.

We bought a Viking range two years ago (now 3 months out of the two-year warranty), model number VGIC53014BSS04. It looks great, the top burners work fine, but the oven cooks terribly uneven. For example, food on the left side overcooks, while on the right side is still uncooked. This is the case with or without the convection fan on, and is true for whatever we are baking. I wish I could include photos, but I have them.

The Viking appliances are made to last. Between this refrigerator and my old refrigerator, for some reason, the things wouldnt last as long as they do in this Viking. The different departments and the bins in the refrigerator makes it so you can put things in different temperatures. That’s a heaven-sent. When youre a chef or you like to cook, you need things right there. You dont need to be running around the kitchen. With all those different drawers, I got the vegetables in one thing and I even have wine in one of the compartments. So, its an excellent piece of equipment. It makes cooking easier. My favorite feature of the range is the simmer. But I like the one on the right-hand side in the front because I like to cook things and get the heat high on it. You could cut up two chicken breast that might be cold and put it in there, and it would get nice and hot where it would start to brown. In a normal stove, that would not happen. If I had to do it again, I’m definitely going to be using Viking. When you want something to last and you want to pay the money for a good appliances and good equipment, Viking’s the best. When you spend the extra dollars for something, it changes your life. I was cooking on just an electric stove top and I only had four burners. So, to go from that electric stove top to my Viking, its like getting a brand new Mercedes Benz. I cant believe how easy it is for me to cook things such as baked potatoes and big rib roast. Ive cooked them all. Viking is expensive but youre paying for the quality of it. If you want the best, you got to pay a little extra, and it’s well worth it.

I purchased a whole set of Viking Ranges for my new home and Ive been really happy with the appliances. I got a range, a hood, a fridge, a dishwasher and a mixer. Their quality has been spectacular and the installation went great. However, recently I had some issues with my dishwasher. I called them about it but theyve done nothing to help. Ive spoken to three different representatives. The first one told me to go on and make sure all my products were registered and then call back the next day. When I called the next day, the lady said shell get it set up for me. She gave me a repair number and the name of the company to call. I called the service company and they said that Im outside of their service area and they wont do the work regardless of whether Ill pay for it or not. I called back Viking and the next lady worked to try to find somebody else who could fix it for me. She looked it up and said Im out of warranty and Im out of luck. I told her I knew that I was two months out of my warranty and that I shouldve reported the problem a little bit faster. But I told her I have no problem paying to have a service provider come out and fix it. I was also willing to pay for the parts and I was not looking for them to pay for any of it. I was just looking for assistance to find an authorized service provider that can do the work for me so the dishwasher can get back up and working.Im so frustrated about my Viking appliances that Ive really enjoyed and which have worked better than I anticipated. Its rough for me right now because I cant find anybody who is willing to work on them. And the company doesnt seem to care about whether or not I can fix the whole top of the dishwasher that doesnt work. Also, I have a matching set for the kitchen and replacing the whole thing seems ridiculous.

I’ve owned three Viking Ranges before and it’s less expensive than a Wolf. For the dollar, the qualitys okay. I would probably have a different type of seal around the burner, a different oxider paint on the grating on the top, a more commercial look or feel to it as well as the balance of internal oven temperature to change its quality. But I like that it’s got a good clean look from the front appearance and its ability to find different configurations on the top burner versus flat top versus grill.Right now, I’m waiting 16 days for a service from the dealer for fulfillment on it. The hinges on the oven door are not working properly. They’ve passed me off to a secondary person, which is from elite to American which is their repair install group. Also, the first Viking fridge that I bought did not hit temp ever and it took over a week to get back up. I also bought a Viking refrigerator drawer set that as full and brand new box set, and it broke down, and they would not repair it. It was too expensive for the warranty to work, so they wanted to credit me back my money. It was a poor experience with their dealer.

Viking is very well known and their products are very stylish. I had one before and I decided to get a range from them. I bought it from Elite Appliance and the guy there was very enthusiastic. But once I paid, I was had a hard time getting updates on the delivery date. Another thing was the range was too expensive. Other than that, the design of the range fits my kitchen and my cooking style. I do quite a bit of stir-frying so a high BTU range helps quite a bit. I also like the amount of flame that comes out. Its really nice.

I like my new refrigerator and the way it keeps everything cold in each area. There are no warm spots and it fits the space that we have perfectly. I wasnt gonna get a refrigerator with a rollout drawer on the bottom but it seemed to be made well so I opted to go with that instead of the side-by-side. People should do some research into what features each one has and then pick the one that fits overall what their needs are because one of the other reasons we didnt go with the side-by-side is because Viking makes them too tall. We couldnt have something that tall in our space. We only have 70 inches and a lot of those side-by-sides are 72-plus, and thats not gonna fit in the space. Wed have to take the cabinets out at the top and I dont wanna do that because I use those cabinets. So, it would be nice if Viking would make them a little smaller in a side-by-side too. I know two other people who are struggling with the same thing. They have this standard spot that contractors made in their house for the refrigerator, and theyre only about 70 inches tall. When you read the specs, a lot of those refrigerators want you to give them a 2-inch clearance at the top for air and we dont have that. Ours is smack way up to the top but we have air on each side. We havent had the refrigerator that long but Im anticipating that its gonna be a real worker.

Ive had Viking for a month and were not enjoying it since it was broken out of the box. The range has two igniters that aren’t working and two burners that aren’t adjusted correctly. So, we’re trying not to use it until it’s fixed. They had a guy out a week ago who said that they needed to order parts. And there’s been no ETA on when the parts are gonna be available or when the range is gonna be fixed. The Viking reps have been okay, but the problem’s been with the contracted service. We’re pretty disappointed.

The Viking Refrigerator that I got is great. Its everything I thought it would be. I like the bright lights, being able to change the configuration that it has. I like the more solid material. There is one thing I wish they did have that is not there, and thats a filter for the water that goes to the ice. Cause typically the water connections are behind it, and since this is built-in, its not like a regular fridge where you can pull it out and then change the filter. I had to run a line from my reverse osmosis system to go to the back, even though theres a water connection with the spigot built into my house behind it. But everything else has been great. Were pretty happy with it. It looks great and performs really well.

We moved to a new house and the Viking Appliances were already there but they were very old like more than 10 years old so I replaced it. They have a reasonable price better than Subzero. It was a bit expensive but they have a good reputation among my friends and I just wanted to keep the same brand. The refrigerator is brighter than before and I like when the door close I feel like it’s suctioning the air kind of feeling. But I hope for the shelves to be strong in the future because it’s a little bit weak. Because the refrigerator I had was old with broken shelves I’m very careful when I put too much things on the shelves so I hope it stays well. I wouldn’t recommend to my friends regarding the price but I like it.

Viking Range was fined for ranges that turn on by themselves (article dated 4/17/17) for 15 models sold between 2007 & 2014. We have a Viking Range that was purchased in 2017 when our home was under construction. 11/9/19 the oven ignited by itself in the middle of the night; our fire alarm went off & woke us. The house was filled with smoke; we have to flip the circuit breaker to turn the oven off. It was super-heated & left marks on our brick backsplash. It also melted the igniter & safety features of the oven, as well as the mechanisms for the sliding racks. Clearly, Viking has not remedied the faulty part issues that caused this.I called them & their blanket answer is thats not one of the recall ranges, albeit the exact circumstances around the previous problem were evident. The specialist that serviced the oven said it looked exactly like the previous problems, although the part in the oven read as the updated version. The customer service rep stated to send her the service notes & shed forward to management, but didnt think repair would be covered (for new racks and the melted parts due to their faulty parts = $1,600) because the range was not under recall. For $14,000, youd expect better response, customer service, and quality out of a product.

The Viking range is a great product and most of all, they have great customer service. I had some problems with the first Viking range from the beginning when we bought it. But things like that happen and the way it was handled was very good. Overall, the experience in terms of the customer service, getting everything done and changing the range was excellent. They listened and paid attention to the problem that I told them we had with the range. And they acted on it. That aside, the quality is very good. I like the style and the look of the product and my favorite feature is the oven. I don’t like Viking appliances. I’ve had issues with the ice maker ever since I bought my refrigerator. They came out one time and replaced it because they said there was a fly in it. After they fixed it, it worked for about six months. And then I have to always pull the bin out, empty it out, clean it out and put it back in so it could work again. Now it doesn’t work at all. I’ve called Appliance Masters and they’ve been out many times. The repairman comes and he says nothing is wrong with it but I still have an issue. At this point, I have no warranty on it but I need someone to come out and actually fix it. I ordered the part to change it myself. The dealers were nice. But as far as when I emailed them, I got absolutely no response.I’ve had my dishwasher for seven years and when I turn it on, it runs over three hours and I have to open the door and see if it’s clean or dry. I never know how long it’s supposed to take. I never knew from the beginning because it never ran a full cycle. When I open it, I see all this water and soap in the bottom. I wash my dishes by hand. The water is sitting there. I have to spoon it out or cup it out because it starts to smell after a while. It’s a big issue for me because I’ve never been able to have a full cycle of clean dishes. When I called this last time to get somebody to help me with my appliances, the repairman told me he gets a negative call every single day and he’s always apologizing to the customers when they call. Consumers like me don’t know who to contact to say their complaint to. The sales guy was telling me that he gets this kind of call every single day. Generally, I’m easygoing and I don’t really like complaining about anything. But when it comes to a point when somebody’s so top-notch, I get very disappointed because of the name.Viking has a name like Mercedes-Benz. I was thinking I was getting the best and I was very wrong because if Viking was so great, their appliances would work properly. And even if I get a lemon, I understand that at least it could be fixed when someone comes out to check it. I was disappointed. I would not recommend Viking to anybody. I would not recommend the places I called for service for Viking. They just can’t fix it. I used to have a GE and it’s in my garage now. It works a lot better than Viking and I’ve had that a lot longer.

I purchased a Viking 36 all fridge and all freezer to match the decor of the kitchen and have had no issues with the fridge until 3 months ago. The bottom evaporator behind the crisper drawer has been leaking onto the bottom of the fridge and onto the floor daily for the past 3 months only to find out after spending much time and money to try and get this matter resolved to be told by Corporate that the replacement part is no longer made and that I could purchase a new unit at 50% discount off of retail. Albeit a nice gesture but not interested in spending $4K plus on a new fridge that wont match the side by side freezer for a defective matter with the unit that the manufacturer has had in the past and doesnt stock the product or part. Im a chef and Ive been a Viking fan for the longest time. Ive been waiting to have it. I totally saved to have the money up to have a Viking kitchen. People come in and they go Wow. I dont know if theyre amazed by the performance or maybe the way it looks. Maybe it looks expensive, especially the microwave. I press the button and it pulls up and people freak out. I also have an oven and a fridge. My fridge is good and beautiful. It keeps the food fresh. Its classy and its nice. It has the part where if I wanna put the pizza in the bottom theres a storage for that. I love it however I got some issues that theyre supposed to take care of but because of the Coronavirus, I dont know what happened. Overall Viking is the best. I’ve only had it since November and I probably cooked on it three months out of all these months I’ve had it. It’s not really good. Viking sent someone to look at it and they worked on it one time, replaced some things, and got it going. But something else went wrong and maintenance people were sent to check it but Viking refused to pay for the service. They were supposed to get in touch with me to figure out what Viking is gonna do about my problem. The guys who worked on my unit said Viking just needs to send me a new one because mine never worked. We’ve spent a ton of time and I haven’t been able to use my range. It’s still sitting there. Viking got feedback from me and I’m still waiting on them to call me back. They won’t return my phone calls. I used my unit when it worked but I waited two months to fix it the first time. That’s so unsatisfactory. I need someone to fix my Viking.

Updated on 11/10/2021: I was prompted to respond to a previous review “privately” and feel my response should be “public” so I am requesting that this be linked to that previous complaint or minimally be made public as Viking’s public response was a deflection. The claim that it’s been sent to their escalation team is false as I have already been told by their in-house reps it’s been “escalated” for a the past week. Transparency is a good thing.Thank you for your response. After 9 months and numerous eta postponements I have been working with representatives within Viking aka Middleby Residential and have been told that our order was already expedited to your escalation team as of Tuesday November 9, 2021. In addition to speaking and emailing your internal representatives I have left a voice mail for Kevin ** -Viking President at ** to no avail. As of this evening 11/10/21 I have been emailed to direct all further inquires and questions to my local (NC) appliance dealer. Hmmm????? What??? I have filed formal complaints with BBB as well as this forum of ConsumerAffairs. I have also been contacted by Mississippi’s state Attorney Generals office today at 5:30 PM EST to provide them with more documentation. Which I will gather and forward tomorrow 11/11/21 -no problem. The issue at hand is: I AGREE WITH YOU that because of the upside down and unprecedented supply chain disruption the world has limped through the past two years demand is up and supply is down. Where we part is: y’all should be clear and truthful with your valued customers. Good grief we love your slate blues and your apple reds and would partner with you unflinchingly but when you deflect and push off candidness with punting etas month to month to month ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. You’ve had my $36,343.96 for 9 months and are asking to hold it without delivering for 10-11 or more months. 3 out 6 appliances I have received are defective or damaged and I’d like to have to parts expedited to the repairman you’ve scheduled.Be clear with your customers. Stop taking new orders on refrigeration products if you can’t fulfill them. Work on your current paid in full orders and field the questions your customers have. We’re all in this together. Quit hiding behind the retail and supply chain layers. Total looking forward to hearing from your escalation team personally. Make it a conference call and loop everyone in. Viking has all my contact information… I know Kevin ** Viking President does for sure.Original Review: We purchased a suite of 8 kitchen appliances from an authorized Viking dealer in Feb. 2021. Viking aka Middleby Residential requires customers to sign a contract acknowledging 16-20 week turnaround and payment in full. We complied knowing it would take longer than the stated eta due to the pandemic and unsettled supply chain as well as paid $36k in full at time of order. After 6 months of waiting I started to press for delivery so our contractors could wrap up our kitchen remodel. At the end of Sept (8 months later) I received 6 of the 8 Viking components and three (3) of them were defective or damaged; the built-in oven has a defective exterior cooling fan, the exhaust vent has a defective speed control knob and we forgave the dented side panel on the dishwasher as it is hidden (although it appeared to be damaged before packaging for shipment). The real problem is the non-delivery of the 36 5 series refrigerator and 18 7 series freezer. After many emails and phone calls this past week I spoke with a Viking inside rep (Hannah W) today and she conveyed Viking is unable to source grill kits for their entire 5 series refrigeration line and has no information on availability for the parts needed for the entire 7 series line of refrigeration. This is basically what we suspected since June and had been given vague excuses and phantom etas that came and went every 4 weeks. I have tried to email Kevin ** Vikings president without success so today I left a voicemail for him at ** with my contact information as he needs to hear his customers concerns first hand. How is it that this manufacturer can continue to place orders and demand payment in full on products they know they cannot supply?? Is this not deceit?? I have asked Viking to stop selling their refrigeration until all previous paid orders are completed. I have asked that they suspend their advertising of these units while knowing they do not have materials on hand to complete. I have also asked that they stop requiring 100% upfront payment knowing they cannot fulfill these orders and are basically able to use their customers cash as interest free loans.I have filed a grievance with the BBB and the state of Mississippis Attorney General Lynn Fitchs office stating the above issues. Had Viking been upfront in the beginning and honest about availability, adjusted their payment policies to reflect the uncertain supply capabilities and provided repair parts for defective shipped appliances this would have felt more like a partnership instead of a grab and go sales deal.

Viking VCBB5361RSS 36 built-in is crap. Weve gone through 2 of these now and the second one is dying after 4 years. Viking repair has been here 4 times in a year. Every part has been replaced and it is still dying. Its a beautiful unit but its completely unreliable. Viking has no idea how to make refrigerators. We thought we would give them a second chance and replaced the first one with another thinking that all the bugs Viking had were worked out. Surely they would have figured out how to make a fridge by the time we got #2 but no! Weve had a terrible repair record with this one too. Come on Viking! Its a great fridge, lets get this worked out.

I found out about Viking 20 years ago and back then, I couldnt afford it, but Ive always heard the great reviews on the quality. I remodeled my kitchen in October and it was a good time to do it. After two months of purchase though, I ran into an inconvenience. Some time in December, we were trying to bake for the very first time and when we turned the knob on the oven, it broke from edge to edge, in the middle. It might have been some type of factory defect, but things happen. We had not even used the oven, but I called in, and it was under warranty.Viking has a third party customer service where I called their number, and they did it with just the serial number. They assigned a technician to come, but they mailed the part first to my home.Once I got the part, I called them back and let them know that the part has arrived. We then scheduled the technician to come by and replace it. Since then, the knob has been a little tight. I can still make it function, but it doesnt run smoothly like the rest of the knobs. Another thing is that, the very first burner on the right-hand side is the one with the most flame. Its supposed to be the most intense flame on the range and it makes a blowing noise when its on. This is the only burner that does that. Still, I love the quality.

We’ve just moved into a new build and we got to pick the appliances, and the contractor ordered everything for us. I like the fact that the Viking ranges rolling shelf that can roll in and out and I can actually adjust the height of it because a lot of ovens that I’ve seen before were fixed in a certain place. So, that’s handy and it seems to cook evenly. We like everything about it - the way it looks, the little lights that come on it, where the knobs are, and it also functions well. We’re very happy with it. Its of very good quality and its worth spending the extra money.

Installed Viking appliances in our brand new home and it didnt take long for problems to start. The dishwasher model #VD8200SS started leaking and not drying after the first wash. I had the unit serviced twice to finally find out the entire soap dispenser piece needed to be replaced. The unit stopped leaking, but still wont dry. The serviceman was dumbfounded. The unit began smelling and stopped working all together. The service discovered it needed a brand new drain pump. Drain pump installed and turns on, but it still smells and the washer still refuses to dry anything. Double oven model #VED01302TSS now makes humming noise while the unit is off. The serviceman went back out to the house and said it needs a transformer and advised me Viking ovens are pretty much a joke and suggested to not use the self-clean function. He said it only greases up the inside wires and gadgets, and is very expensive to replace after the warranty expires. Out of the 7 Viking appliances I currently have, the stove top and toaster are probably the only two which didnt see a lot of problems with. Dishwashers, stoves, fridge, beverage centers and microwaves - forget it. Viking is simply overpriced and a total joke. Viking, you can pretty much stick it. Ill never buy another Viking product and Ill pass along my experiences with Viking every chance I get. Dont buy this crap!

I went to SR Appliances and I wanted something more high grade than Samsung, LG or anything like that. Im very familiar with Viking and other brands but Viking stood out better to me in terms of price and value. SR Appliances was great to work with. I bought the range ahead of time. I picked it up and installed it along with my contractor. And then shortly after that, because we were going through some renovation, we didn’t want the range delivered until we were done. But the installation went well. The range is consistent and it cooks great. The BTUs in all the burners work great and cook evenly. I bake a lot and it just performs well. I’ve referred Viking to a couple of other people.

I like the way Viking operates and I especially like the look of the Viking professional stove. Ive had Viking before so I got them again when I moved into a new home and I went to replace the appliances. The quality has been good. But I moved into a condo in Florida and they don’t allow gas so I got the induction. It’s different for me because it’s an induction and before I’ve always had gas. The rep was helpful the first time I went in and helped me select the product. But when I had some questions and went back, it was like they didn’t have time for us. They did it twice. She was doing something else and she was dealing with some other customers. I got the Viking professional range and I thought I was getting the Viking professional microwave. I didn’t realize until after they had installed it in that it was Viking and not the Viking professional. There was nothing I can do about it but I was disappointed in that because I was trying to get matching appliances. But overall, I’ve been very pleased with Viking.

If you have invested in a Viking Oven or Range - you know that it is just that - an INVESTMENT. Or at least it is supposed to be. A $7,000 oven should not have any issues, not at 1 year or even at 5 years, frankly, with nothing but normal domestic use. I understand that the warranty is expired - and we didnt expect a completely free solution. Admittedly, I am severely disappointed that a name like this doesnt stand behind the product for ten years! Our expectation was that the company could at least have a certified service technician it recommends - at a reasonable Viking supported rate. Not referring us to a technician that costs $200 JUST to come out and look at the oven - not even DO anything!? They are viking certified and cant tell over the phone if there is any common problems - of course - it will be $200 to come out for what will probably take 10 minutes. Then there will be the time to order a part and then come back out at $50 per 30 minutes for labor. The reason we spend more up front on quality is to not have these issues. Its a shame that as I look online I see this Name is now riding on a reputation they no longer uphold. I see countless complaints about quality - and Viking is no different than ikea as far as standing by a product. Shameful.

I purchased a Viking refrigerator thinking that the product would be great. I have owned Viking grills and loved them, the quality was amazing and they lasted! I was wrong. The refrigerator is so loud, it hisses, seems to continuously run and makes a banging noise when it is running, rarely shuts down and when it does shut down (for 5 minutes) it makes such loud popping noises you would think a car is backfiring. I tried to return it to the appliance store but they told me it was a special order fridge and cannot be returned. I am so disappointed and feel like the $3250.00 plus tax that I paid was thrown out the window! I recently saw on the news about a refrigerator exploding and I am nervous that this one will do the same. I will not purchase another Viking fridge and also will not shop at Bill Smith Appliances in Fort Myers FL again!

I had an existing Viking refrigerator in our home and it went out. I replaced it with a Viking too but it’s not as near the quality of my original one. The exterior is not even metal. It cant even hold a magnet so its a stainless steel look but its not. The original was sturdier and the inside shelves were more metal. This one seems to be plastic. The freezer part is a lot of plastic. It doesnt have the durability of my old one. Its a cheaper made Viking although I like the sleek look of it.

My husband and I remodeled and bought the Professional side by side in 2006. We had it replaced due to a dent in it and the ice machine not working in 2008 by warranty. The replacement had issues too. We have replaced the ice container a couple of times for $300 ea. Now its broken and it will cost $500. We noticed that there were 2 screws that are missing. It has been worked on but not sure if it was factory or labor issue. Plus water dispenser doesnt work. That’s been worked on too. Recently cleaning the fridge out, I noticed cracks on the inside of the door unit. The drawers are all broken. We replaced a couple of them about two years ago for $100 ea. Broken again. The fridge still works, but the breakage is not good.We had a refrigerator for over 20 yrs prior to this that still worked and had no problems. Buyers remorse? Probably. I have pictures showing the issuer cracks inside of the unit. By the way, my hubby and I are senior citizens and take care of our things. I would love to be able to send my concerns to the company with pictures.

The problem that I have is that the ice maker arm doesnt stop the ice tray from overfilling - when you open the door ice falls in the back and the arm drops -making additional ice, this causes the cubes to drop in the back of the freezer. Theres not enough space to remove the fallen ice and it also causes issues closing the door. The refrigerator is very good otherwise. Looks like a built in.

My friend had a Viking range and recommended it to us. We didn’t have a place for a double oven in the wall, so I wanted a large range and the Viking range happened to be available. We were looking at Wolf initially but the Viking range that we found and purchased was with the dual fuel and it was also the floor model. So it was over the top, but our kitchen is over the top as well, so it went with our kitchen. Also, the quality of the range is wonderful. I like the convection oven that Ive never had before and I use it all the time. It definitely works a lot faster than other ovens. We received a lot of appliances with different brands from the Viking dealer and the reps there were good. When we first had the Viking range installed, the convection fan was really loud and would rattle the floor when we put the convection oven on. They had somebody come out and replace the fan. It still gets a little loud, but it doesn’t do anymore what it did before, and we hope that we don’t have to ever deal with that situation again. They definitely rectified the situation promptly and that was really good. I will go back to Viking Ranges.

I love my range. It cooks much better than anything else I’ve ever had and that’s what I’m excited about. Viking has a good reputation and I was glad they were made in the US. I also like the fact that it doesnt have any electronic components. The other range I had before was a Dacor range and the electronic part of it just went out all the time. So I was just really happy with this one. The simpler, the better. Plus it lasts long. However, when I had an energy check, it was discovered that there was a gas leak. I then had a well-recommended company come by. That company thought that they fixed the problem at the connecting site in the back, but then the Energy Check people came back and it really wasn’t fixed. So they came out again and they said they fixed it but they really didn’t. They were just putting it tighter and tighter there on the connector where the tube comes in from the wall from where the gas comes. Then finally their best guy came out and he replaced the whole hose and said that the units fixed. However, I still smelled gas and Energy Check told me that I shouldnt smell that. I think the smell thing was there ever since I got the range and I dont know if its a defect. Also, I am gonna have to pay for part of it, which I understand. But I was really impressed that Viking came out and fix the problem. Therefore, I would have no reservation with buying a Viking Range.

Less than five months ago I purchased all new appliances for my kitchen. I wanted a reputable brand that would last for years to come. Viking is a name you hear and immediately think high-end. Their appliances fit my style perfectly, simple yet classy-looking, so I took the plunge and ordered myself an entire Viking kitchen, not a cheap decision but my kitchen is MY space, so I splurged. My stainless steel refrigerator (double door on top, pull-out freezer on bottom) has been constant problems for me. Im actually not fond of any of my appliances but the others have been overlooked due to such shockingly poor quality of my refrigerator. First, the ice machine works completely randomly... one day a full tub of ice, the next nothing. Next, in less than three months time a shelving frame has completely cracked all the way through, and there is hardly any weight on it at all. Now, the produce drawers are sagging inwards and I do not trust the shelves in the least. It seems like it is constantly something with the unit. I had hoped to love my new kitchen but now Im so upset that, for the money I spent, I do not have appliances I can be proud to show off.

I was looking for higher end appliances, so we decided to go with Viking and have had nothing but problems. The refrigerators doors had a crack in it. The doors were not aligned. The freezer is always kind of opening and not sealing properly. Its a bit noisy. Then there was indenting, and this is the second time it happened in the fridge. I dont know why. I realized I have an extended 10-year warranty with PC Richard so I had the guy come out again, and he said he had to order a bunch of parts, and he placed the order. I hope that is being handled. As far as my range, its horrible. Im always having trouble. It is a very high-end stove that the burners half the time arent working. Its not holding the proper temperature inside. I feel like its a limit. I would put it on 400 but it only went to 300. Viking replaced the burners a couple of times. They come and fix it, but it reoccurs. Theres something wrong with the actual range itself. And then, when I called Viking because of everything that happened to have it serviced again because they canceled my last service due to the COVID, they told me Im out of warranty now. But its the same problem Ive been having since I got the range. Ive called in again but nobody has gotten back to me. They were supposed to push it up to management. Im a hobby chef and I like the Viking we have in some vacation homes, the more expensive ones. And I love the old ones. 10 years old, 15 years old, or brand new. A Viking is a Viking. Im very happy with my Viking range. I have the 8-burner range with the dual oven, all-gas. But the broiler comes on and shuts off after three minutes. So, theyre gonna put a new one in to fix it. Other than that, it has convections, the lights, the temperature control, the small one and the big one, the lights and the knobs. I truly like everything about the range and I will not want anything else. Our Viking Dishwasher is my problem. It has been repaired four times now. They came out as soon as they could. They fixed it and then they had to come back, then they fixed it again. Either they are not very knowledgeable about the dishwasher or the dishwasher really has a serious problem. First, the mechanic was out two times for the lock. Then the dishwasher ran all night twice and the kitchen was really hot and then they put a new electric board, which was underneath the dishwasher. Now, every once in awhile, when I close the door and I want to put the program in, whether pot scrub or normal wash or what, it doesnt come on. You have to do it two or three times. Im working with the supplier who says hes working on my behalf with Viking and I am going to go to every review site I can find and post if they dont do something to remedy this $5,000 stove that I invested in. Prior to when I first built my house, I bought good appliances and I was hoping that this Viking would be even better and this would be the last range that I would have to purchase, being of the quality. But every time I bake, it rattles the vent or fan but theyve tried taping it.My husband and I are so disappointed. We made this decision together. I cook all the time and it doesnt even completely work. It caught on fire because they didnt connect it to the gas thing properly. It wasnt a plumbers fault. They didnt make the stove correctly so I am upset. Its documented through the repair person including the type of visits. I even had a plumber come and look at it separately from the repair person. Even the repair person said Viking is not very good at standing by their equipment once we get it. And thats from the person whos selling it in his store. Unfortunately, Im all the way in Hawaii so I realize they dont want to pay shipping. I had a KitchenAid prior to this and I didnt want an electronic motherboard. That was another big decision maker, cause its very humid in Hawaii. In Vikng, the knobs are on the front so I felt its a better investment cause in the long run the motherboards breakdown. Also, theyve had to move the range in and out and its gotten scratched, not because of anything Ive done. The racks are now uneven inside of it because the repair guy has had to take them in and out so many times. My husbands tried fixing it himself but the only thing thing that works properly are the burners on the top and thats it. Everything else is wrong. Ive had to call Viking when it first caught on fire. Its still under warranty but it is only good for so far. And in the first three months, this thing has had four repairs and thats not right. They should try to work with me and replace it. But theres been no contact and no accountability.

Same problems as everyone else, except after enduring a long wait period for the door recall repair and having to defrost my freezer once a week, my fridge door fell on me tonight. My water damaged floor is dented and scraped. My wall is damaged and my hand and back are killing me. Someone, PLEASE let me know who is organizing a lawsuit... I cannot believe this brand is still in existence. What a piece of crap!

Every Viking appliance we own has had some issue that always cost a few hundred dollars. First, it was the dishwasher that had to end up being replaced. We have experienced the igniter issue on the stove so now we just keep a lighter nearby. Today, the oven just stopped working. The quality and customer service from Viking is the poorest I have ever dealt with. How are they still in business? I am totally dissatisfied and always tell everyone I know to absolutely stay away from Viking unless you like headaches, frustration, poor customer service, horrible parts, availability, and etc. With all the money you will spend on service calls, you are better off replacing the appliance to cut your losses.

I saw Viking in model homes and magazines and I went with the brand because of the name alone and the look of the product. The refrigerator itself is a great-looking product but the ice maker is a real deal-breaker. My wife and I use quite a bit of ice on any given day but the ice maker produces only one small layer each night. In comparison, my old KitchenAid filled up with ice every single night. I bought the Viking refrigerator from Pacific Sales so when my icemaker unit stopped working after the initial tray of ice, I called them. I came to find out they dont service Viking products and I had to call Viking myself. When I did that, Viking said theyll send someone out through Executive Appliance to service the icemaker. It was nice that they serviced it, but the icemaker still puts out a slow amount.

The refrigerator I bought is very good but the drawers are kind of flimsy. You push it to a certain point and then they self-close. If those drawers were on ball bearing or a little bit different, itd be really top-notch then. My favorite features of the Viking are the door itself, the styling and the lights.

I had my Viking range delivered a month ago. However, Ive been disappointed. It was a new purchase and new installation. I have a double door 48-inch range and they werent level. And then there was a crack with the interior of one of the ovens, and the main oven has stopped working when I was getting my range replaced. It doesnt heat up and I dont know if that is installation or bad switching. The small oven works fine, but the big oven does not work at all. I went on record with the company that I bought the appliance with just to say that I know its getting swapped out but I havent done anything to it. I had used it twice. Also, Ive been forever delayed on getting a griddle cover. I have to think its coming soon but its been on perpetual back order with Viking and right now it looks like a margarined, ugly griddle. I just wanna get the cover. I wanna like it. I want it replaced. I dont wanna have to call anybody on it again and hopefully well never speak again. I hope its not an indicator of any sort of change thats happened to Viking because I did have a range in a previous home and I loved it so much. I had not a single problem with it and I wanted to go back to it again.Their people have been very responsive. There has been many cooks in the kitchen in my liking and I cant keep up with whos doing what, but I appreciate the calls. I wanna get the range replaced but the installation of the new one has been pushed back again which bugged me because that was another weekend of no real sizeable oven. Also, I have small children so its a pain in the behind but I just wanna have it done and over with. I picked Viking over some of the other premium lines and I wanna stay with it but I wanna get it right this time.

We purchased our Viking DF Range in August of 2003. Our first problem surfaced during installation by Sun appliance in St Joseph, MI. The installer noticed that the surface grill grates were not manufactured level and would not set lever over the burners. They had to be reordered three times before we received one that lay flush. My thought was that a range costing almost $7,000.00 had such poor quality control that it left the factory with parts that were poorly manufactured. After several months of use, we noticed that the little rubber feet that fit on the bottom of the burner grates were falling out. I attempted to glue them but with no long term success. Out of frustration, I called Viking and was told I had to purchase a brand new grate at a cost of $35.00 plus shipping because they could not sell me this little piece of rubber worth no more than a $1.00. I finally found some on the internet in a Viking parts bag for $14.95 for 16 pieces. My opinion of Viking and my $7,000 range began to slip. A few years later the broiler element, PJ010002, went out at a cost of $299.00, including labor. Now, I am really getting upset. I had my choice of several other brands but chose Viking because of its perceived quality. The next surprise was in June of 2011 when the oven relay, part no. PM010129 burnt up filling the kitchen with a stinky smell. We had that part replace at a cost of $126.10. Now its only six months later and the same part burnt up again. I again called the Viking repair people at All Pro Appliance Service and was told the $35.00 part was covered under warranty but I would have to pay an $89.00 service call to have it repaired. I am very concerned now because I have a feeling its not a defective part but a problem with the stove. In searching this site and others, I have found several other Viking owners who have had the same oven relay problem. In summary, this is the worst appliance I have ever owned and would not recommend it to anyone. Shame on you Viking for such poor customer service and quality control!

Ive known about Viking for many years and they are of upper level quality in the market. In fact, I just remodeled the whole kitchen with Viking products. However, the refrigerator’s got a couple of problems that we need to have fixed but I can’t get service here in our area. Vikings is working on trying to get service set up but Ive been waiting about two weeks now for it. The same goes with the dishwasher. It had a little leak in it and they’ve got a service call set up for that but the people are not responding. The three repair people who were doing the Viking warranty work do not do it anymore and the closest ones in the Cincinnati area are about 30 miles away but they got a 20-mile limit. Vikings will probably come through with the warranty but it’s a slow process right now. And having bought the refrigerator, the dishwasher, the cooktop, the vent system, etc., I am expecting a little more. Nevertheless, I would recommend the products.

Weve been having a lot of problems with our refrigerator. From the beginning, the freezer side would not seal properly and we couldnt figure out why. The contractor took a look at the door and he realized that the seal thing was disconnected. It took them three or four weeks to get the part here to get it fixed and meanwhile, our freezer was working really hard but that got fixed. But from the get-go, our fridge has been super loud. At first, we thought it was because the cabinet up above was a little loose. We tightened that cabinet up and the fridge is still super loud. Were still going back and forth with Wiking and it is not resolved. Its just a bunch of escalation to somebody who doesnt call back. The people are very nice at Viking but nothing has really been accomplished. Its not the right fridge to buy for $10,000. We should have bought a different fridge.

This is my first Viking Range. Granted, it’s one of the lower end models, but still not cheap. I was very disappointed with the incredibly loud vibration noise made by the convection oven. Repair/ motor and fan replacement was unsuccessful. Seems it’s the back vent that vibrates? Not the fan. Still can’t use when I have people over because it’s in my “open concept” kitchen. One knob had to be replaced because it stuck and I couldn’t easily turn off the burner. This all in the first month of use... not what I expected from Viking.

We needed a new fridge, and we heard that Viking was a good model, so we decided to buy it. But ever since we’ve had it, it has been giving us nothing but a problem. We’re working with Best Buy to have it replaced as soon as they can get us a different model or unit, not even Viking. The compressor seems to be humming a lot louder and unusually higher. So it’s this annoying, high-pitched hum that we constantly hear. Also, the alignment of the bottom freezer drawer is a bit off. They tried to replace it with different Viking units from different warehouses, but all of the refrigerators had the exact same problem. So we did not go with a replacement, and we came to a mutual decision that we’re gonna have the Viking taken back by Best Buy and have it replaced by a completely different brand. We got the 36-inch freestanding unit and it is absolutely not one I would recommend. Best Buy asked us to reach out to the manufacturer directly, and they came over and saw the unit, and they didn’t really do anything. They told us that they were not gonna be able to help or do anything here and that we just have to talk to Best Buy. So while they were polite, they were utterly useless.

In 2006 I purchased a 36 4 burner with griddle range, the under counter dishwasher, the large Viking fridge and outdoor pit - all Viking. I strongly recommend staying away from all Viking appliances. I have been dissatisfied with every single one of these appliances! They are very expensive and I am now on a first name basis with my repairman. When I attempted to contact Viking, their customer service was beyond inept. They never ever returned my phone calls and when I reported this to the BBB, I finally got a response. After a long discussion, I was supposed to get a return phone call. Well 3 months went by, then 6, then 12. I reported it to the BBB again. So lo and behold, I got a phone call. Nothing was done. There was excuse after excuse. Regardless of money, there are better alternatives to Viking. Talk to your local appliance repair company and they will tell you who to look at and who to avoid. I promise that they will not recommend Viking. Proceed with caution.

They were out four times before somebody said, We dont ever do this, but we need to replace the range. So, I ended up getting an entirely new range. But theres not been one day that it hasnt been broken and a ticket was open. Also, if I make a call, it takes at least three weeks to get a response and somebody to work on it. At one point, I waited six weeks to get somebody to come. Thats not acceptable. Also, they are are saying, This part is stuck at.... I am so tired of all these ships because of COVID that are stuck in some foreign space station somewhere that nobody knows exists. But the product has been good once they give me the one thats working. I would buy Viking again because of the product. It was the follow-up that I have a problem with. Also, I like the quality and everything. The only issue that we had was, when it arrived, the knobs were in the wrong spots. But they got fixed quickly. I’ve heard of the Viking brand over the years and when I was redoing my kitchen I found them at Best Buy. I liked a few of the features and I was trying to buy a cheaper brand. But the main item I wanted was more of the double oven which has side doors like a baker’s oven. The oven was very nice however, I was a bit concerned about the cooktop because I can’t seem to find the right cook temperature. When you turn that on, you put it on really high and it heats up fast because it’s induction. I can’t seem to get used to it and I’m having a hard time getting used to the different burners. I either get stuff too hot or it doesn’t get hot enough. For what I spent for the whole kitchen, I’m not overwhelmed with all the quality. The refrigerator and the stove are very nice. The refrigerator doors open and close and keep the food cold. It’s very expensive though. But some of their other appliances are not up to par. The cook-tops should work better. I think it was a brand new design and with this induction, it’s a little tricky to use and it was very difficult to get service. I had to call up and they had to give me a company that would give me service. When I called, I was told that it will be a month and a half before they can come out. I called and tried another company and then I was able to arrange for them to come out a week and a half. Usually, with that kind of money, I should be able to get service in the same week, not two and three weeks for you to use outside service companies. That was a little disappointing. I would have expected better customer service. Furthermore, they offer rebates for buying certain things and I have to beg to get my rebates. With the amount of money I spent and with the company as big as Viking, I shouldn’t have to do that. It took weeks upon weeks and then they said I didn’t have the right serial number. They made me run through hoops and I had to wait and keep calling and finally, I got the money. We’re talking $1,400. All in all, I shouldn’t have a problem with the rebate nor getting serviced. I think the equipment set would be working a little bit better for the amount of the money I spent. I’m a little disappointed in the dishwasher but they told me that there’s not much they can do.

We wanted six burners for any time that we would host the family party so a lot of thought went in for this particular range and hood. My husband made the choices and it had to be electric for the self-cleaning and gas for the cooking part. The reps were knowledgeable and they told us what was available and what we could get. My husband had one picked out and when we found out it was not self-cleaning, the rep steered us in another direction. Now were very happy with the Viking range. Were enjoying how evenly it cooks and I like how the racks slide out. We also have the Viking hood and its been working very well. Its a little noisy sometimes if we dont turn it up all the way so we have to talk to the builder and see if they installed that properly. We hosted Thanksgiving where we had 18 people over, and we pulled it off and everybody was pleased. It was the most beautiful turkey we ever pulled out of the oven! It was so evenly brown and it was just amazing. And all the food came out hot. We were able to boil water quicker than any of the other ranges that weve ever had. It also cleaned off easily by moving the racks off the top and wiping everything down. The range is so wide with those six burners, my husband and I werent bumping into each other when were side by side.

The dishwasher we bought 3 years ago has been a disaster. This week, the start button fell into the dishwasher. Then the rocket scientist repair person (who is an authorized repair person for Viking) comes to check it, ends up ordering the wrong part because he thought that was the problem, after disassembling the entire panel. Now he says the correct part is backordered for 3 weeks at least. I called All Viking Parts.com and Viking and confirmed this. How is it possible that a $28.00 part cannot be found in the United States of America? Viking is SO proud it is made in the USA, yet cannot have a $28 part in stock. Also, when we bought our 3 viking appliances, they came with a 1 yr warranty. Now they come with a 3 year warranty..... must be due to the fact they are absolute pieces of jump. The stove, fridge and dishwasher have ALL broken. The dishwasher being the most to break. In fact, a part I bought myself and installed in the fridge, has broken.... again... literally within 2 weeks of installing it. NEVER BUY VIKING APPLIANCES..... NOT WORTH IT. I wish I would have listened to the reviews I read about Viking before purchasing.

Last night our Viking oven decided to self ignite, which resulted in a 911 call (electrical fire). The oven was off, and had we not been in the house, or in bed, then the situation could have been much more serious. I contacted Viking directly (this morning) to report the incident, but I am not entirely convinced that Viking is really that concerned - in fact the response was somewhat casual. They were more concerned about whether the warranty was valid.A colleague of mine had a similar issue a few weeks ago - oven (a Viking) self ignited. Again, this resulted in a 911 call. I got the impression that Viking arent too concerned, however, I would like to use this review as a warning to other Viking users to check your oven - make sure you know how to isolate the gas and power to the appliance - make sure your smoke detectors are working - make sure you have a fire extinguisher and is rated for an electrical fire!
