The experience with Viking Refrigerators has been great so far although I had to have some repairs done immediately. It was nothing big. During the shipping, one screw got loose and one light cap came off. I have a technician coming out today for an EO code on my under the counter fridge. I called the warranty company local in Houston and theyre good.

In retrospect, I wanted everything Viking. I bought a self-standing range, a big electric French door oven, and a fridge. The dealer was nice and my experience was very good. The features of the Viking Range were better. The power of the gas from the top range is terrific and Im very happy with it. I also love the features of the oven, but I had some issues with the set. The doors didnt close well so they had to come back and close the doors, so I was partly happy with it. However, Im not super satisfied with the brand new fridge. The ice machine was not working and they had to come back. For the price Ive paid for it, Im not happy with that. Its working okay now, but it took a while.

I wanted all my appliances to match. So I went and got the Viking refrigerator. My stove is really good but I see the refrigerator and I dont see the same quality. Im not very satisfied for the price I paid. The refrigerator has some issues. I have spoken to customer service and the year was going by and I thought I need to call them again. The refrigerator freezes food in the refrigerator area. But even at the bottom of the refrigerator, Im starting to see some sort of accumulation. The maintenance people are not very familiarized because the rep told me that down where Im from, there are not many people that own Viking. But the lady that does also had the same issues of food freezing. The handles are very wobbly. I constantly have to tighten them up. It doesnt have a feature in the ice machine where it stops after it feels that it has made enough ice. For such an expensive and quality brand, those features would have been looked into. They had to also repair, just within purchase, the deli meat door because it was off. It was crooked. Right away, they sent the deli door. But the guy hasnt even called me. He was supposed to check into that whole freezing of the food in the refrigerator. But Ive been lenient because I said it was a holiday.

We had a built-in grill when we moved into the house about 40 years ago. We then replaced that and got a 24-inch Viking grill. When we decided to get a new stove, we wanted to match it up. Previously we had an electric stove. We checked other things like BlueStar, but we liked the looks and the style of Viking so we selected it. Its great and the heat of the range is so much even and it works so much better. The temperature control is really nice and I like the one pullout rack which is really convenient. The product is also easy to clean. I lift up the racks on top of this each day and I can dust underneath there. You can take the ceramic tops or the steel tops off the burners as well. It’s really nice and so much better than electric. It also looks like a million bucks and will never go out of style. It always looks like a professional item and is classy looking too. Its the best there is. The installers did an excellent job and we had all the trim pieces. We inquired about getting a broiler from them but Viking doesnt make them anymore. I’m going to have to have some Viking products when we move. I was in the Fire Department before I retired and all the fire stations had Viking grills and gas stoves. There were about 8-burner stoves and that’s where I first saw them. They always worked well. I am thankful for Vikings good products and am appreciative of them. I’d highly recommend Viking.

I will never buy another Viking product after what we have experienced with our 5-year old Viking refrigerator. Until this year, we were so thrilled with our new kitchen. Then Jan 5, 2013 came and our refrigerator stopped working. We had to throw out well over $1000 in ruined food. Imagine my surprise to find that we couldnt get same day service for such a serious problem. Only after contacting Dave and Donna from RiverBend and Co, where we purchased all of our appliances, did we finally hear from a service company. They came out 2 days later. Since the parts are so expensive for this appliance, they are not kept in stock. Not only were we charged for the new part over $500, we had the honor of waiting almost 2 more weeks for the part to arrive and a service person to come back to install it. A horrible 2 weeks, but at least it was after the holidays and the refrigerator was able to be repaired. October 28, 2013, I came home from work to an alarm. Our freezer had defrosted again! By the middle of the night, the refrigerator alarm was going off. We lost everything for a second time! I called VESCO, the company who repaired our refrigerator the first time and they had no availability to send someone out and were not very interested in our situation. They recommended I call HADCO, and after 24 hrs received a response that they had great news - a serviceman would be in our area in 8 days! I think that is unacceptable. I started searching online to see if other Viking owners had had similar experiences. There are thousands of us posting similar reviews online about these refrigerators. We are heading out to buy a cooler today and now have to wait until Monday to start calling again to get a resolution. We are so disappointed that Viking does not care about its customers. Buyer beware.

Updated on 02/11/2020: I have had Viking appliances for less than five years and have had nothing but problems with every one of them. The refrigerator was so bad that they gave me a new one that was suppose to be redesigned. Well after just a few months I have had nothing but problems with it. I have to make ice cubes in trays!!! The springs break on the doors, top shelf on the right side freezes anything you put on it. Viking should be ashamed of themselves for ripping people off like this. Now my range will only work at 350f and the control that I need is $1,400.00 for just the part and viking has done away with their service company, now they sub it out to a local repair shop that knows nothing about this line. I am going to buy a new Refrigerator and I will be posting the old one on Youtube when I destroy it with my excavator just to get some satisfaction.Original Review: I guess I am another dope that bought these appliances without reading the reviews! I thought you get what you paid for but not with Viking appliances. I have the 42 fridge and the 48 range with the griddle option that has not heated up and worked right since day one. The fridge is a complete piece of you know what!!! The ice maker which freezes the water every three months and stops the ice maker from working and has to be thawed is a joke which the repair guy told me it is a known problem but still will not do anything about it.My floors were also ruined from that problem. The ice will not come out right and gets clogged or you get one cube or 100, no in between but then the rest will come out 10 minutes later on the floor. Spring on door has broke. Now the latest is no water on the door and the high temp alarm keeps going off. We all need to get together and file a lawsuit against Viking because this is just not the way to do things. How do they get away with this? DO NOT BUY ANY VIKING APPLIANCES no matter how nice you think they are!!! You will regret it!!!

My Viking refrigerator and dishwasher are just over four years old. We have had constant problems with the fridge beginning within a year of purchase. Ice maker replaced twice, unit not cooling, plastic cracking, doors not sealing. We have had the entire unit replaced, since then the ice maker is still working but the plastic is cracking again on the covers to the butter storage. The dishwasher has been repaired at least twice, once due to a fire hazard recall. Now it doesnt dry the dishes and needs repair again. In over 30 years of homeownership I have owned several homes with other appliance brands at much lower cost - have never had any single appliance come even close to having major issues such as this. When I paid top dollar for professional appliances I never expected this low level of quality.

I like that Viking products are made in the USA, and so I had their products in a previous home too. We also decided to buy an entire Viking kitchen for our guesthouse. That includes a stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, wine cooler, and microwave drawer. However, we had a problem with the dishwasher and Viking took almost nine months on it. They ended up having to replace it because the technician messed the other one up.Our refrigerator has also been leaking at the bottom for the last five months. The thing is its in the guesthouse and it’s hardly used. The parts that have issues are all under warranty of about six to eight years. Ive been dealing with a gentleman from Viking who has been trying to get technicians down here. One tech took off the door as well as the back panels, and now the door wont close and it leaks on both sides instead of one. It’s very frustrating because other than that one tech who came, I’ve still yet to get another one to come and look at the refrigerator and were about ready to throw it out on the street. My liking of Viking has always been the cooktops or ranges. In fact, I just had my 60-inch installed in my kitchen in the main house. I still like the product. Its just very frustrating to deal with customer service. Their service and follow-up is horrendous and I would not recommend it to anybody. Ive been in the restaurant business for 30 years and people respect the opinion. So I cant make a recommendation when something is lopsided.

I went with a five-piece Viking appliance package for its price and the brand reputation. I was able to get the five pieces that worked best for me at that time. However, I found that Viking appliances as a whole are very simplistic. Its great in a refrigerator, but not so much in some of the other appliances. I had Jenn-Air previously and their appliances just had more features. But for refrigeration, it just needs to keep cool things cool and frozen things frozen. The refrigerator is the Viking appliance that we have that I like the best. It’s nice-looking and seems to be doing what it’s supposed to do. It also has a good amount of space. The lighting is nice. The shelf assembly and the drawers are all great. The refrigerator is working out really well.

Viking Professional Stainless Steel Double Oven FIRE - Chatting with company, I started preheating oven. In about 15 minutes a small explosion and fire broke out in the oven. In a shocked panic I turned off the oven and grabbed the baking soda. If I hadnt been still in the kitchen chatting, this event would of burned down my house. I called my insurance and they said they would not cover the oven because the house did not burn down. Called Viking and they acted matter of fact like this is an everyday occurrence with their customers and told me to call an authorized repairman. Five hundred dollars later and a lot of elbow grease, it works again but the experience was very frightening!

Our Viking refrigerators good. We built several homes and Im a cook, so the Viking range is what I wanted, and then they were doing a deal. You can get a couple of different things, so I went with that and got the refrigerator. My favorite thing is the very bottom shelf. You can put like pieces of boxes and weird things. Its a well thought out storage. Its a good use of space. As far as the quality, its what Ive expected for a built-in. Its good. One of the little doors where you put your butter in the door was cracked on the inside but that kind of happen.

Vikings reputation is certainly solid, and from looking at their reputation and their reviews, I thought that they might be the best one. I bought a Viking range from Nebraska Furniture Mart in Des Moines, Iowa six months ago. But it took a while before we got it as we waited for the installation. The installers did a good job though. We also had an issue with the unit but that was because we didnt read the directions as well as we shouldve had. We didnt clean the unit up first and we had a smelly oven. But they sorted it out for us and our interaction with the customer service team was good. That aside, the quality is excellent and overall, the Viking range performs much better than our previous one. Id certainly tell others to check Viking out.

Built a home and got all Viking appliances. The dishwasher was included in a special package. I like my french oven and my microwave and 6 burner range top. Theyre fine. The dishwasher I would never purchase again. It is very noisy when its washing. But what really bugs me is the control panel. You cant save any thing like your favor wash cycles. Every time you use it you have to turn it on and press the P button till you get the wash cycle you want then press an F cycle for drying which is like a double switch so Im never sure if I got the right one or not. I should have checked it out better then I never would have bought it.

Viking Ranges were at the store that we went to. We talked to a Viking rep and also to the salesman and our experience was very pleasant. They were very knowledgeable about the product. We got the six-burner range and we liked the size of the range and the burners. The quality is also very good. I like the convection oven because I’ve never had one. The range is everything we wanted it to be. It’s very easy to use and easy clean.

Sales communications could have been better, as when the range arrived the installation was not scheduled. There is a bow in the bottom panel, and the gas ignites in the oven only %50 of the time, the other $50 of the time only smell gas - unfortunately two whumphhh! booms occurred inside which is how I discovered the gas does not ignite well - obviously a small explosion occurred and I will not use the oven. The result so far after several months since I placed the order?: Service took two weeks to get scheduled for a repair date that is an additional three weeks out. I still have no idea if this is covered under warranty or if it can be fixed, I only know I waited for ever and have a nice looking range that is only %50 useful, and in general underperforms vs Thermador, which I would have bought had I not had my heart set on a specific color. I still have no oven to use, not worth it after several months experience (so far).

Updated on 12/23/2018: Viking contacted me a few weeks after I posted the below review in May 2017, and asked if they could send a local area authorized Viking repair technician to come out and look at my D-3 Dual-fuel 30 (RDSCD2305BIB), which I agreed to. The tech came out not long after, I explained all the problems and prior two service repairs by the store I purchased through (Abt), showed him pictures of a pizza I cooked (I included photos with original review), the bottom was still pale and not cooked, the top was almost burnt. He assessed the oven, made a phone call and determined what parts needed to be replaced, including part for the burners, which spontaneously adjust the flames on occasion. He put the order in, but was not completely sure this would fix the problems. I waited several weeks until parts came in and technician came back.I was hopeful on this 3rd time fixing on an expensive oven, but to no avail. The oven temperatures are still not regulating correctly, they dont hold or get too hot, takes far too long to heat up, and still doesnt cook/bake food properly. My most recent baking fail was a homemade apple pie I made for Thanksgiving, a pie Ive made many times in many ovens with no issues. I followed my normal process, but within the first 20 minutes the top crust was starting to burn, so I covered with foil and kept baking because the rest and bottom still needing more time. When it was time to take out, it was a disaster, it wasnt an apple pie, it had cooked it into an APPLESAUCE pie! Ive never had this happen before, there was nothing salvageable and ended up in the garbage. This range is terrible and a complete waste of money, Im so disappointed since Viking used to be a quality brand, in hindsight I wish I had bought something different, Im glad I didnt buy Viking for my other appliances. Everyone I tell whats been happening says Viking should have replaced with a new unit by now.I will say again, I will never buy another Viking product again or recommend. I feel that I have been patient and trying to work through these problems, I enjoy cooking and baking, but not with this oven, its too frustrating and irritating, but I cant justify spending money to buy a new, different oven.Original Review: I did a kitchen gut renovation in 2013 with all new appliances. I wanted to do a dual-fuel because I read those were better for cooking. I researched a lot of options. At the time when I was shopping in 2012, the Viking D3 was still kind of new, but I didnt see any negative reviews and I always had heard Viking was a good brand. I proceeded to purchase the D3 dual-fuel 30 range in a color that is no longer an option and matching hood to coordinate with a color scheme in my kitchen (pop of color) and I dont like stainless, the range was $3400 and the hood $2000. The reputable company I ordered this through and who did the install, had a tech come out to make sure the ventilation parts were installed correctly on the hood, all was good. The range and hood were installed in 2013 and all seemed fine. Not long after, I was cooking something in the oven and the bottom was not cooked properly. I later cooked some pizzas, all them came out with the underside almost raw (pale colored too), but the top cooked fine. I called the company who I ordered through, technician came out and said the Molex(?) part had not been connected at the warehouse. It was still covered under warranty. Keep cooking things and still the same issues. I cooked a pizza once directly on the bottom rack, the underside should have been almost charred, but it was mostly uncooked, the topside was almost burnt (pictures shown).Called again (May 2015) and said it must be something with the cooking element and will order a new part, of which they called me back to say Viking told them the part would not be available until August, 3 months?! I felt that was unacceptable and emailed Viking directly telling them it was ridiculous I had to wait that long for a part when given how much I spent on this range and it doesnt cook properly, Viking rep apologized and shortly thereafter the part arrived in about 2-3 weeks.I also in this time experienced an issue with the vent hood, I was cooking something that kicked up smoke, I turned on the hood and the smoke curled around the hood not into it, I ended up having to open windows to air out kitchen. The technician came out, installed the new part, I told him about the vent hood, said all looked hooked up correctly and I told him what we had to do before installation, he subsequently called Viking who had no answers for him.So the new part was installed and it has made no difference at all. I have a separate temperature gauge for the oven and it never heats to the proper temperature, food doesnt cook properly, I have to monitor it closely. I have to heat the oven at least 30 minutes or more and theres no indicator of when its ready, the blue light on the front is useless except to tell me the oven is on. Once I was cooking something that needed to be cooked at 450(F), after 30 minutes I opened the oven and the gauge said it was over 525-degrees. The gas burners are average, they never seem to be at the correct level according to the dial, and the flames adjust themselves at times. I havent even tried the broil or convection options, too concerned what might happen. It has been extremely frustrating and not pleasurable cooking with this range as its so unpredictable, doesnt cook/bake foods properly. Ive spent all this money for something that looks pretty, and a total waste of $, I truly regret buying it and would never buy another Viking product or recommend it to others. People come into my kitchen and say what a pretty oven and cool color, which I tell them yes its pretty, but its a piece of crap. My other appliances (Whirlpool and GE) have been working great since I bought them through same vendor, no servicing since buying in 2013. I had better cooking experiences on my old, cheap all electric oven, even the cheap one before that, which was 20 years old. Of course the Viking range is out of warranty now and Im stuck with this hunk of junk and based on what Ive heard of Viking customer service and reviews, I dont expect them to be much help. They should replace it. I see they are still selling these models, but are just calling it the Series 3. I cant justify spending the money buying a new range and hood. Its an oven, it shouldnt be that complicated to manufacture something that works properly for that kind of money.

When we first got the refrigerator, the bottom of the freezer started filling up with ice. The technician came out. Somehow, in the construction of the refrigerator, all this insulation had been sprayed down the tubes and supposed to drain that stuff out. They replaced the whole refrigerator. But then the bottom of each of the doors of the new refrigerator were all clogged up with the same sort of spray foam insulation. The technician came out again said that the doors needed to be replaced. NOW, Im going on five months waiting for that. Viking is just waiting for the new doors to be manufactured. The refrigerator works, but its not right yet, and I took a five-year extended warranty on it. With this defect, Im wondering if that five-year extended warranty is going to be extended when I finally get a refrigerator that works properly. I wish it was something that could be resolved in a timely manner. I understand people gotta wait for parts, but I bought the refrigerator at the end of December, and Im still waiting for it to be fixed.

Everything with Viking range is beautiful and works great, but there’s a couple of things we’re concerned about, that aren’t working right. The racks in the oven are not lined up right. It’s very hard to move them in and out. It’s almost like they’re too narrow for the track, like they’re lopsided. It’s weird. And I got the microwave oven, the drawer one, to go with the stove and a part of it looks warped. But other than that, it’s perfect. I love it. They were installed last end of July. I love how it performs and it’s very easy to clean. The only thing, the burner size itself is very broad, so some of my pots, the heat comes more to the side versus the center. I wish it was adjustable, like the circle for the burner where the gas comes out. I wish they were able to do some smaller and some bigger, depending on what pot size I had.

My refrigerator freezer was delivered defective. I just got a replacement but I am still waiting on parts for it to be adjusted by the repair guy. I had to argue with people at Viking for two to three months for me to say Im not taking this refrigerator because its cracked in one of inside framing. The local, regional manager wanted me to caulk it to fix the whole thing. But I said, Look, I paid $14000 for this freezer refrigerator. Im not doing that. After three months of just saying no, Im thankful that I finally got it. Its been frustrating and I hope I can get my part and stuff soon.

Ive heard of Viking for years because my son-in-law builds very high-end homes, and I know that at times they use Viking appliances. We bought our Viking refrigerator through Best Buy, and the reps there were fabulous. This fridge was on display at Best Buy when I was there. The reps said that normally Viking refrigerators arent on the Best Buy floor, but this fridge had been returned because it had a slight dent in it and the customer wouldnt accept it. One of the big reasons that I bought this fridge was the counter depth, and that was key. We ordered our Viking refrigerator back in October, but weve been under construction all this time and we just finally got it put in. Weve only been using it for about three weeks to a month. The quality of the fridge that we got is good. I like the brightness and how the doors open very fully. However, the only complaint I have right now with it is about the ice in the container in the freezer. Sometimes, the container overfills and when you open it, it pops the ice out down into the bottom. Nevertheless, I had a good experience overall with Viking.

I walked into the store looking for a Sunshine or Vikings traditional gas range. Ive heard of Viking but I didnt know about their products. Their sales reps were not really educated. They showed me the Viking range and were not too technical about it. But when I saw the Viking, I said Wow. Its like a restaurant style range and I loved the way it looked as well as the capacity inside. So, I got it. Its also marked up at a reasonable price and so far, I had a good experience using it at home. I love how it heats up everything so fast and the knobs are good to work with. But I get confused once I use the conventional or the bake. I dont know what the difference is or how it works. Im not chef type person and Ive been Googling that to try to figure out whats the difference between that and the regular bake. The grills are heavy duty, too, which is good. We got to be careful when we take them off and clean them so we dont hit the actual stove with them. My wife cleans them daily and she scratched the front on top of it on the shiny part. It was stainless steel and she said it was heavy so she dropped it.

I had purchased a Wolf 30 gas range but the infrared broiler was not as good as 16 year old Viking gas range. Wolf is a very reputable and reliable company and took back the range that I had for a few months and returned my money (a first class outfit). So I purchased a new Viking range and am thrilled with some of the new features. The shelves in the oven roll out and one burner has more BTUs than the rest for big jobs. Also the infrared oven is excellent and the top is now sealed so liquid does not drip down into the guts of the oven and rust it out like the old one. The company is not as generous as Wolf and made me purchase a new set of knobs with the color of my choice (black) for better visibility and would not take back the silver ones as an exchange.

The tech said that the first Viking range we got looked like it was dropped
The tech said that the first Viking range we got looked like it was dropped. Thats the only thing that would explain the problems with the oven cavity being kind of out of kilter. The rep I spoke to about it got kind of snappy with me and said that the tech was not telling me the truth. Also, the range wasnt level. The island vent was up higher on one side than the other and it stood out like a sore thumb. They tried to level it and the only way they could do it was in such a way that the tile backsplash behind it, with the grout lines running across horizontally. And one of the igniters was bent in to touch the burner and the tech said that because of that, it would not ignite. They replaced the range. They brought the new range in but it has the same problem as far as the back in the island grill not being level with the tiles behind it in the backsplash. The tech came out and he said the guys that installed it screwed up. He was able to level it and it looks fine. But the oven door is also off exactly the same as the first range was. We had a tech here last week for the fourth time. He tried everything, as far as tweaking the door hinges to see if he loosened the hinge screws and tried to move that oven door over to see if that would indeed get some clearance. He was able to improve it a little bit, but its still clearly wrong when you look at it from the top. Also, theres a kickplate that goes along the bottom of the range and when it was delivered, it was like it was knocked off of the little hooks that hold it in place. And it was scratched. He looked at the scratch and said they would replace that. He properly reattached it so it looked true and ordered a replacement part. But the replacement part was cut wrong and wouldnt fit. I still have the scratched kickplate. One more thing is the grates on top. There are three grates, one for each set of two burners, front to back. The one on the right was lower and was kind of dipped to the right side. The tech replaced the little stoppers that it sits on to see if that would make it work but it was still lower on the right side. He had to put washers in the brand-new range to make the grates level. This is their flagship 36-inch range. Its a $14,000 appliance. But the quality could not have been worse. We’re baffled. If I could do this all over again, I would not get a Viking product.

The first person we dealt with at the Viking dealer was really bad at his job. He only did the bare minimum for customer service and didnt really care about it. The second was fantastic, though. She was attentive, helpful and did what we needed to get done with the same information that was provided to the first guy. Weve had a good experience with them. The repair company that they referred to us came out the next day to repair our freezer after the other repair company could come only after two weeks. Its really nice that we were given accommodations. Now its done so thats great. However, the refrigerator is very shallow. It needs to be deeper so it can fit more stuff but other than that, its great. Im very satisfied with my Viking experience. Theyre easy to work with and I appreciate the above and beyond customer service.

I bought 1st one mid Year 2015, the panel buttons caved in, rendering the microwave unusable, at 18 months. Purchase a second identical microwave July 2018.Second microwave had no updraft of exhaust, tons of exhaust flow from the top, repairman couldn’t determine where exhaust was coming from. Magnetron did not operate properly microwave, sounded as if motor was straining, lagging and power was not even. Excessive condensation built up inside door. Viking replaced microwave instead of trying to fix it. It took about a month to get replacement. I received a call at 445 that installer was Enroute and should be here by 6pm same day.Last night I got the 3rd otr microwave, in 3 years. Mentioned that updraft exhaust was not good, microwave #1 had excellent exhaust (updraft). Was told by installer that these don’t really operate that well. Probably the most honest thing I’ve heard. Love my Viking range. Hate the microwave, wouldn’t buy another Viking microwave, yes I realize 80% are made by Sharp. Would look to another brand.

We purchased a very expensive Viking refrigerator from Best Buy a couple years ago. Within just a few months, all of the adjustable shelves in the door started to break. The shelves are a combination of metal and brittle plastic. Once the plastic shatters, they are unrepairable. The replacement of the shelves is NOT covered by the warranty. We went ahead and overpaid for two replacements from Viking, which then proceeded to break as well. We are down to one shelf in the door which will not likely last much longer.

30 Viking Gas Stove/Oven - Lots of issues with ignition, an expensive repair that you do not want. Viking should provide a YouTube video on how the do it yourself with reasonable priced replacement parts. Window seal in oven is falling out. Knobs are getting loose. Black paint on stove top surface scratched very easily when removing and replacing iron grates. I paid over $3K for this and cannot believe how poor the quality is. I will dump this heap and buy a Wolf.

We purchased several Viking high end appliances for a condominium about 6 years ago. I have never been so dissatisfied with an appliance line ever. We opted for induction cooktop as we could not do gas. It has been highly disappointing! All of the large burners have stopped working. First one about a year ago then two others less than 3 months apart. I was told by service rep for Viking the parts alone will be over $3,200. Are you kidding me? The elements usually burn out affecting same circuit. One large and one small burner share but our small burners work.I would never buy another and suggest you DO NOT either. In addition our Viking ice maker does not work. Our refrigerator ice maker became our source for ice since. It works only if you manually move arm each time shelf is pulled out. I can not begin to express the poor quality and especially short life cycle of these very expensive appliance.

The rep from the Viking dealership was really helpful. He pulled out the range and showed us the gas line and how it was going to be installed. Viking is supposed to be a really good range as far as reputation, but mine doesnt work. I turn it on, it reaches temp, the fan comes on and then it stops lighting. It just slowly winds down and stops, so a repairman came out and hes going to replace the computer board on it. He seemed like he knew what he was talking about and I expect that everything is going to turn out just fine after he gets that repair done. But first, the board has to come in and then hell call me to reschedule, which should be within two weeks. The elevation burners are pretty cool and they have a constant slow simmer. Im still happy with the range because some things not working could happen sometimes. Im a little more mellow than some people and Im not angry about it. The range came with a two-year full warranty and so far, everything has been covered. Luckily this year, Im having Thanksgiving at my daughters house so I dont need the stove done before that day. Now, if I had family coming in, Id probably be sweating about now and ordering turkeys in from someplace. Im good and I can wait for the perfect oven.

I was looking for a range and didnt want one with all the bells and whistles. Viking Range was the cleanest and the simplest range I saw. I liked the fact that the Viking dealer was a private showroom, it was very nice. They had a lot of other models and stuff that I could look at. Plus, there was no high-pressure sale. However, I have two concerns for the money that I paid. One is the grate on top. The little rubber feet keep breaking off. My understanding is that the only way to fix that is to buy new grates, which is absolutely ridiculous because the grates are perfectly fine. The second is I had to have them repair the blower fan in the range. Again, I think that for the money I paid it would last a lot longer. Its still under warranty but I shouldnt expect that. I am disappointed in the grate rubber stops and the fan blower, but I love the cooktop.

Viking was the affordable choice and a better choice than some Maytag. Its got a quality name to it. Its the rep. However, there was a problem with the shipping of our Viking Refrigerator, and we had to get another one. The first one got replaced. Even the second one, the freezer door is a little loose. I didnt wanna deal constantly having to send it back. The handle was loose, so I tried adjusting the handle. It doesnt adjust anymore. But, its good. It works. We got it from Best Buy. They were nice enough to accommodate switching out the first one. They wouldve switched out the second one cause I wasnt happy with the freezer door being crooked and the handle being loose. The handle is still loose. We were able to fix the crookedness a little bit, but at that point, we needed a fridge. Our old fridge had crapped out, so I didnt have time. They werent gonna bring it till the next day. So, thats my only gripe. The product is not 100%. I wouldnt recommend this Viking Refrigerator ‘cause its a hassle.

I had a Viking range when I lived in Southern California for 20 years and couldnt kill the thing. Initially, I purchased it for status. It looked so great in my house. With a culinary background, I quickly found out that this range was amazing. It performed. I moved and could not take it with me. We finally built our forever home and one of the requirements was that I bring that Viking back. I have a whole Viking kitchen. The window in the range in the oven part of it is not the same as it used to be. This seems like it needs some kind of gasket around it. I sometimes see steam between the glass. I was told thats normal but it wasnt like that on my other range. But all in all, it works really well. I love it. I had a GE in another home and it was like junk. You couldnt clean it. It’d scratch. I took the air filters out and washed them. They fell apart the first time. You dont get that with Viking. It is a lot more money but you get what you pay for. I tell people if youre going to invest in appliances for your house, this is the way to go. Its everything you need and Viking stands behind their product.

It has a little signal if I havent closed the door or the freezer door properly, and that helps because Ive done that once or twice and its nice to get that warning. And then it makes noise for an hour or sometimes even longer. I just use the oven to bake a tiny bit of stuff but now I don’t want to use it often because I don’t like to hear that noise. We had Viking range many years ago in our other home. We purchased again and when I got the oven, three months later, it stopped working. So I called the distributor that I bought it from and they contacted Viking and got the approval for warranty repair. Then they had a local service company contact me to take care of the problem. The contractors were fine. The issue with the Viking oven is that the hinges were either the wrong hinges or installed improperly. The oven did not close and stay closed. So during baking, it would overheat and a safety feature would kick in and turn the oven off. It was disappointing to have an oven that we had thought was really a good product, come and basically stop working, not being usable within three months. The service repairman replaced two parts that he thought were temperature-related. But it turned out that it was the door not staying closed that was causing the oven to malfunction. Its working fine now that the door stays closed. I like the range itself now that it works.

The purchase part was easy. But we went through three different units before we got the right one. The first one was defective. Theres a piece called a bullnose, thats where the knobs are on the front, and it wasnt seated properly on the range, and the door was crooked. The whole thing was shifted to one side. It was minor, but at that price point, it needs to be nearly perfect. And that took nine months to get. The second one came two and a half months later and it was also defective. It had some quality problems on it. It showed up, we pulled it out of the box, and the installer took it back. The third one came two months after that and thats the one we have and its fine. Its an electric oven. The temperature is off by 25 degrees. So, we bought our own thermometer that we keep installed inside of it so that we get a bit more accurate readout. Other than that, everything else has been great. It looks good. It works well.

Then we went to the store where they recommended online from Viking and we ordered that. So it was good. I like the look of the refrigerator and how all the buttons are inside. Theyre not visible. I paid over 5K for this American-made range (ordered March 2018). I expected the quality to be top-notch. Not only does the sheet metal have stress cracks, many screws were loose and stripped out, the unit is not square and fits the space like a rhombus, but the door wont even close right. A third-party tech looked at it and simply commented that hed seen much worse come out of their factory. The side panel overlaps the rear panel, so that the gas line wont fit in the slot described on the installation diagram. This extra piece had to be trimmed off by me! The porcelain coating is abraded on one of the 3 grate supports, and the grates themselves had numerous casting flaws that had to be ground down, or additional severe scratching would have occurred. Burner assemblies are stamped China. The oven cycles about every 2 minutes, and when it does only runs for about 8 seconds - I understand that this means the temp. is more stable, but also feel this contributes to shortening the life of various components. Ive partially blocked the ridiculously large vent holes, which helps considerably. Im still waiting for the 24 high shelf - ordered 7 weeks ago - still on back order. After contacting Viking, I received a nice reply that theyre going to forward my concerns to their quality control dept. How does that help me? My advice - try another brand. It seems Vikings quality control is currently non-existent. Maybe Wolf?

Weve had a very poor experience with our Viking. I had to return it to the store twice and then ultimately replace it with a different brand altogether. Most of the issues stem from a true ignition type igniter which is how the Vikings operate. So, when you set it to cook, it goes tick, tick, tick, and then lights itself up. But then, it shuts down. Also, to maintain temperature every few minutes, it tick, tick, ticks and fires up again. Once it comes up to temperature, it has clanging sounds. It also has an extremely loud fan that runs constantly the moment you turn the oven on. That was what we sought to fix via a replacement of the unit. The first one we received had a miscut piece in the air vent at the back. At first, they serviced it and said it was probably a defective fan. So, we swapped it with a brand-new one and it had the same problem. It cooks fine but its loud. My wife is a gourmet chef and she can appreciate the higher quality of things. Shes much happier with the LG that we ended up getting versus the Viking.

However, the Viking refrigerator we have makes a vibrating noise all the time and thats very annoying. They had people come out here twice and there was nothing they could do about it. One person from their support group said that its a manufacturing problem and that theres nothing they could do about it. He said its not a Viking problem and it doesnt make sense to me. I asked him if theres someone else I could contact and he said no. That was very discouraging. I finally tried on my own to find somebody high up, but I couldnt get it. We bought a house that needed to be updated and remodeled. We decided that the one thing we would splurge on was kitchen appliances. We purchased a range, hood, and dishwasher from Viking. From the moment we began the install, we were disappointed at every turn. For starters, the company sent the wrong metal bracket that attaches to the underside of the hood where the exhaust pipe attaches. It took them THREE MONTHS and three tries to send the right piece! The woman who answered the phone at Viking was useless and it took my husband days to of calling to get someone who could answer questions on the other end of the phone. When they sent the first replacement piece, we called the installer and had to pay him even though he couldnt finish the install because it was the wrong piece. When the right part finally arrived we had to take the hood down and start all over again. The customer support? As far as Im concerned it was nearly nonexistent. The oven itself doesnt seem to be regulated properly. On a 350 degree setting, baked goods bake too fast or burn. Im 62 and Ive baked all my life. Its not me, its the oven. And trying to slowly simmer on the stove-top? FORGET IT! Everything boils away. The dishwasher is another story. It was part of a package deal and now I know why they were practically giving it away. I have two college degrees and I cant make this thing operate properly. No matter what I press when I open it after a cycle everything is wet. The other night my husband started the cycle before we went to bed. When I woke up in the morning it was STILL RUNNING. I am so disillusioned with the products but even more so with the VIKING Company itself. I would never recommend this company to anyone. AT these prices one would expect consumer service to be stellar. Instead I felt as if they resented our calls. SHAME ON YOU VIKING. I was so happy when the appliances arrived. Now Im thinking of selling them.

I purchased a Viking refrigerator thinking that the product would be great. I have owned Viking grills and loved them, the quality was amazing and they lasted! I was wrong. The refrigerator is so loud, it hisses, seems to continuously run and makes a banging noise when it is running, rarely shuts down and when it does shut down (for 5 minutes) it makes such loud popping noises you would think a car is backfiring. From experience with it before, I went to purchase another one when I redid my new kitchen. Everything’s been fine with it and I’ve been very pleased. I love everything about the range except two things. The first is the old stove I had had individual grates for each burner and I miss that. With this one, I have a five-burner stove and its got three grates. I would prefer to have each burner have their own grate. Its easier for me when Im cleaning it to be able to lift one of the grates to wipe out the area which needs to be wiped down. The second issue is the knobs. I purchased brand new Viking appliances for my entire kitchen. I got a refrigerator, a dishwasher, a microwave, and a 36-inch gas range. I happened to be at Best Buy and walked by their display. I knew Viking was very reputable. I had it quoted to see if it would fit my needs. However, purchasing the appliances there was a nightmare. It was probably the most painful thing Ive been through. Every single product delivered to me by Best Buy was a disaster. Its because once it leaves Viking, it actually goes into a contracted service that Best Buy uses, and its their distributorship that caused the problem. They had way too many hand offs, they had a product coming out of Mississippi and went into distribution centers, and they were supposed to make it to Minneapolis. This is also when the products will be damaged as well, like the dent in the microwave. My refrigerator was delivered completely dead on arrival. They installed it and told me it was gonna take 24 hours for it to cool. The next morning, its as hot as it was when they installed it. The fridge had to be completely replaced. Furthermore, it took almost 12 weeks for my range to be delivered. I was getting the runaround from Best Buy. I kept getting excuses on why they told me they couldnt find my range. I told them, How do you lose a 36-inch range? I dont understand. They said, Well, it didnt arrive. They were a no-show at the loading dock. I had used the range one day, it had a short in it and burned up the entire range. I know that these issues wasnt Vikings fault and I dont think they had any control over what was happening once it was purchased. I felt like the CEO of Viking needed to know about my experience because of the distribution. I did a Google search for the CEO of Viking, and I called and left a message for him on his voicemail. He called me within an hour. And the next day, I had resolution. I had appliances being delivered and everything being handled. They sent a Viking representative out of a smaller-type of distributor, and not a big box company. He was fantastic. Best Buy was putting all the blame squarely on Vikings shoulders because every time I would call them they told me that all the delays were because of Viking. It was ironic that once I did get a hold of Viking, the problem was handled within a day or two days. I would recommend Viking to a friend, although I would tell them never to buy through Best Buy.

I purchased my 36 dual fuel oven the summer of 2005 and had installed by mid-fall. It hasnt worked properly since the day I bought it. I threatened legal action after the first oven was installed as the the burners would not ignite and the oven would not maintain a consistent temperature. After several months of frustration and battles, they replaced the unit with a brand new one which has not worked properly since the day it was installed. For the second Christmas in a row, I have not had an oven. I have manually lit the burners for 2 years now after spending a small fortune on replacing ignition units. There has not been a six month period since the unit was installed without one or several repair calls. Viking has no interest in standing behind their products. I know several people personally that have purchased Viking products and got to the point of legal action because of their appliances not working. One in particular installed a wall oven only to have the glass melt off and fall onto her brand new kitchen floor the first time she used (thank God someone wasnt standing in front of it).

Viking was high end, but cheaper than Wolf. Also, its relatively easier to clean than a Thermador. But Vikings quality is mediocre. If youre deciding between a Wolf and a Viking, you should spend the money and get a Wolf. But if youre deciding between if you want to go high end or low end, Id get the Viking because it is a nice brand. Everyone mentions it when they come in the house. The supplier that I bought the range from was amazing. They were so great in working with Viking to make sure I was under warranty.

We purchased all new Viking appliances for a new home we built. The Viking dishwasher has never worked properly since the day we bought it. I have had it serviced several times and the service agent suggested that we try to have it replaced since it didnt work. I tried to contact Viking by phone and spoke to Tim **, Kai ** and Brittany. I never received a callback. I then emailed their west coast general manager, Randy **, who did not even take the time to respond. They have an arrogant group of people working there who are not interested in satisfying their customer. I am going to trash this dishwasher and buy one for 1/4 the price that will work ten times better than this one. Viking has this great name in the industry when in fact, their products are terrible and they dont care about their customers.

I bought this bottom freezer french doors 36 counter depth refrigerator 19 months ago and the freezer is icing up every few months. Its a total disaster and I am tired of constantly having to throw away food to unfreeze it. Once I spend hours doing it, things get back to normal for a month or so and then the cycle repeats. Its incredibly annoying and standard manufacturer warranty is expired after a year. Really bad product, you dont expect this from a newer fridge, especially Viking. Not living up to its name at all.

We built a new home in 2011 and cook and bake regularly. Wanted what we thought were the BEST Appliances in the world but to our surprise the refrigerator and the dishwasher are the WORST!!! Our warranty ran out in August 2014. I called Viking to help us with the cost of the computer board in the refrigerator that doesnt work which means my refrigerator and freezer do not stay cold. The dishwasher takes hours to go through the shortest cycle, horrible! Shame on VIKING for not standing behind their product. I would not recommend anyone to purchase Viking Products.

I have always dreamed of having Viking appliances. I moved into a new house and my wish came true, Viking refrigerator, Viking double ovens, Viking 6 burner gas stove and Viking warming drawer. This came with a hefty price tag but I was over the moon. A few issues with the appliance company, that was a little over 5 yrs ago. Then May 2014, out of warranty we were told by Viking and had to replace the motherboard in both ovens!!! To the tune of over $500. Viking had issues with this problem so extended warranty slightly on newer ovens, so they were aware of problems in past ovens. Fast forward 2 yrs and both ovens are down again. Big pop and smoke. Both ovens again. I have left messages with Viking. No response as of yet.

I have been using Viking products for a couple years now. However, one of the things that I’m having a problem with, and this is the second kitchen we put in, is it seems like every time I buy Viking, it comes in broken. Last 2012, we did the kitchen and the refrigerator came in and they had no compressor. I told them to take it back, but they wouldn’t take it back. So, I bought a rebuilt. They can fix it, but I tested that and then I was like okay. I supposed it was just bad luck. And then this time, I used it and the refrigerator came in broken again. So, I have a broken refrigerator there with the door that is not working. Then, they got to come back and then the dishwasher got a bulk. As soon as the guy came out, I’m like, “What is wrong with you guys? Every time I get something from you guys, is it just my bad luck or what?” Out of four appliances, two of them broke. That is ridiculous. I also said that we do our kitchen every four years and I’m doing a kitchen down in Florida. That was to start this month and I’m behind and I told him I can’t be bringing in stuff that I know I got a way to get it fixed and I’m not there. I said I can’t do this. Nevertheless, everything else looks good. The Viking dealer was fine.

Up until it broke, I was quite happy with my Viking refrigerator. But it broke in November (the evaporator failed - still under warranty). A service company came, diagnosed the problem and ordered the part December 5. Today it is March 10. In February the appliance repair company called Viking and they were told the part would come in February 26 and that it would be sent out by overnight air when it arrived. February 26 came and went. No word.Yesterday I called Viking and spoke to a customer service rep who took my info and told me someone would call me back. No one called. Today I called and spoke to a different customer service rep and was told that there is no expected arrival time of these parts to the Viking factory. I was told some people are waiting 6 months or a year. Im sorry but I call BS on that.Heres the thing: This is a popular model of refrigerator. Clearly they must be getting these parts at the factory and installing them in new product to be sold while ignoring current customers like me. Not only is this bad business, I believe it is dishonest when they tell me that none of these parts have come in. Im kind of an in internet guy. This is the first review of this situation that I have left. There will be more. Viking is making a mistake. If they rectify it I will come back and modify this review. But dont hold your breath. And if you want your food cold, definitely consider what might happen if your Viking refrigerator stops working.

I bought the refrigerator through the Pacific Sales inside the Best Buy, but the delivery part of it was terrible. The people that were supposed to do the delivery and the installation screwed up twice. It was a 48-inch refrigerator, so its pretty heavy and large. The sales rep has specifically put in the requirement multiple men team to come for the installation, but twice they came out with only two guys and they weren’t able to do the installation. Other than that, the refrigerator has a nice design and has a quality feel to it. But I didn’t expect it to breakdown so early. The icemaker went out only less than a year that it was purchased. So I had to have it serviced.

The oven stop working after very limited use. The recalled parts did not get it working, so now I am told it is the DSI module. I have had much lower priced appliances with basically not problems, and NEVER had the oven/stove to go out after being only 6 years old. Were from Mississippi, and supporting a local company seems like a good thing to do. We bought our Viking range from Southern Pipe and the sales team seemed to really know their stuff. My wife had a ton of questions for them and weve had good answers. They seemed to have dealt with those questions before or the saleslady might even own one, so she was able to speak about personal experiences too. We like all the features that came with the range and it has been really good. We havent had a gas stove before, so the fact that everything heats up really quickly is awesome to us. Plus it looks really good in our kitchen. We bought it back in the fall, but only got it installed in February, so were still sort of in a trial period of using it. It still feels pretty new, but everything weve thrown at it so far, its done exceptionally. Its the best stove Ive ever owned.

When we moved to Park City, a Viking range was already put in and I really liked it then. I thought that when we remodel, I’ll get one ‘cause I love to cook. The dealer told me about all the more expensive French stoves which were nice but I can’t afford that much money. I got the Viking range and it’s of excellent quality. It’s an improvement to the 1959 GE maroon wall oven that I had.The stovetop is great and I love it. The burners give you a lot of gas and you can trim down real low and that’s nice for simmering. We just bought everything and we are getting everything hooked up and functional. It took longer on our cupboards than we thought so that sets us back but it’s a wonderful product and I love it. We had to find our own way and I thought of every procedure possible to get the oven started again. But even today, it still hasn’t been repaired because I don’t have a warranty. We bought a new construction condo about 11 years ago and the builder put a Viking in there. That was the first Viking we owned. This time, we did our due diligence in looking at some of the other things that were out there. We looked at Wolf, but I liked the simplicity of Viking. We’re also very happy with the quality of the range. My wife does the bulk of the cooking and she really likes the evenness of the heating in the oven. All the burners are like power burners. Most of the stoves out there, you get one that maybe can put out the BTUs. But all the ones, Viking can do.Having now owned our second Viking, it seems, however, like the lighting on the burners is always a little tricky. Lighting the burners, its clicking and it’s not lighting and then I have to turn the knob. We have tenants in the condo that has a Viking and more often than not, especially when they’re new, people have a little issue lighting it and that’s one area that Viking could improve on. We had someone come out with the one in the condo and they said it was the igniter. We replaced that and the unit performed exactly the same way after, so it seems like it’s just the way it works.

In 2012 we replaced a 14 year-old JennAir oven and microwave, which were old but working fine, with what we thought were upgraded Pro Viking products. We are sorely disappointed with both but I will focus on the microwave for now. VMOS201SS with trim kit came to over $1000 with taxes and looked lovely. However, the control pad is impossible to clean and the microwave oven, after 4 years of moderate use for reheating only, works intermittently. Sometimes it works... sometimes it is dead. Apparently there is a switch in the door that is malfunctioning. Repair company that services Viking charged $160 to look at it and ordered a new part from Sharp, who manufactured this piece of junk. That was in early January. I am writing this in mid March with no part in sight. Repair company is not at fault. Viking is stalling sending the part. It is not worth replacing the part at this point so I will reuse the trim kit and order from a different manufacturer. Frigidaire FGMO205KF looks like it will fit and has good reviews. I will never buy another Viking product.

There was a slight beneficial discount for the Viking at the time we purchased it even though it was more money than some other appliances. I haven’t had a problem with it other than a drawer breaking, and they sent us a replacement. I called Viking and they said to make sure the appliances are registered. So, they registered, and once they were registered, they were gonna send somebody out. I couldn’t believe they were gonna do that. When they realized it was just a drawer, they just sent the drawer. The process was easy. I like all the features of the refrigerator. One feature is kinda interesting. I had my Viking range delivered a month ago. However, Ive been disappointed. It was a new purchase and new installation. I have a double door 48-inch range and they werent level. And then there was a crack with the interior of one of the ovens, and the main oven has stopped working when I was getting my range replaced. It doesnt heat up and I dont know if that is installation or bad switching. The small oven works fine, but the big oven does not work at all. I went on record with the company that I bought the appliance with just to say that I know its getting swapped out but I havent done anything to it. I had used it twice. Also, Ive been forever delayed on getting a griddle cover. I have to think its coming soon but its been on perpetual back order with Viking and right now it looks like a margarined, ugly griddle. I just wanna get the cover. I wanna like it. I want it replaced. I dont wanna have to call anybody on it again and hopefully well never speak again. I hope its not an indicator of any sort of change thats happened to Viking because I did have a range in a previous home and I loved it so much. I had not a single problem with it and I wanted to go back to it again.Their people have been very responsive. There has been many cooks in the kitchen in my liking and I cant keep up with whos doing what, but I appreciate the calls. I wanna get the range replaced but the installation of the new one has been pushed back again which bugged me because that was another weekend of no real sizeable oven. Also, I have small children so its a pain in the behind but I just wanna have it done and over with. I picked Viking over some of the other premium lines and I wanna stay with it but I wanna get it right this time.

Viking has been on our radar for quite a long time and it was something that my wife wanted to buy again since our prior experience in another property. She liked the product and we had good luck with it. We purchased the refrigerator over a year ago and I’ve registered the warranty information in the last few months. I like the appearance of the stainless look to the refrigerator, the layout inside and its capacity. I like it much better than my refrigerator here at home. The product itself is excellent and the Viking dealer was great at selling it. However, the installation focus was not what we hoped for since we had some issues with it but we got that rectified. Viking vet on the dealers very carefully to make sure that they’re being represented well because installation will make or break someone’s view of the product sometimes. They have to make certain that they honor the warranty in case it’s ever needed and to stand behind their product.

We purchased Viking D2 line (french door refrigerator, double wall oven, cooktop and dishwasher) for our new home and we moved in in February 2013. We have had nothing but problems with these products. We reported the microwave in 2014 to the authorized dealer that we purchased from. The front fascia was coming off every time we opened the door. After over a year of dealing with Viking representative, he came out and glued the door back on. He glued it incorrectly and now the buttons are protruding into the sockets and the front panel is still buckling on the front. Since we did not have good luck with getting the microwave serviced, I have tried dealing with Viking directly on the rest of the products. Waste of time. Got a form letter response. The refrigerator bins have all broken, the ice maker gets plugged up regularly and doesnt make ice, the computer on the front panel of the refrigerator doesnt work and, consequently, the refrigerator freezes all of our fresh vegetables. The cooktop randomly doesnt heat, the top oven does not retain its temperature when there is more than one item in it, the dishwasher does not dry the dishes and doesnt clean them very well either. You have to practically wash them going in and then dry each and every one coming out.The Viking representative in my area is NOT customer service friendly and is difficult to work with. I have written two letters to Viking, contacted the place we purchased the appliances from multiple times and have gotten no satisfactory response. Now all of our products are out of warranty and no one wants to address the issues. I guess they dont care that I will NEVER purchase Viking products again. EVER. And, I am making it my mission to tell everyone I know not to waste money buying products from this supposed high-end products company. I purchased Viking thinking that paying extra for an American made product was important and that they would stand behind their products. Lesson learned.

I purchased my Viking refrigerator along with my Viking stove and dishwasher with my new townhome in 2003. I had to have service within the first year for my Viking refrigerator and then again. I guess the freezer had shut down and water had been on the bottom of the freezer, then froze and had to try and scrap it off. I called the repair and he supposedly fixed it, but then it became rusted. I had other problems which I won’t get into. The list goes on, but now for the last year (8th year) there is a cooling problem and the alarm goes off constantly. Had the repair guy out here and so he said what I may need, which will now cost me $1000 but he is not sure that will fix the problem. My neighbor has put thousands dollars into theirs and now it is not even repairable.Of course I have called Viking several times and they do nothing for me. My repair man came out again and told me what they were offering 1/2 off a new Viking, but who can afford another $3600 plus tax when the first one was expensive enough? I don’t seem to have a choice because I don’t know if I can fit anything else in my built in and match, etc. Something should be done about Viking. Pay up. That’s all I have to say. Viking dishwasher (we have an all Viking kitchen) has disappointed me twice now in 5 years of ownership. Hoses that are internal to the cabinet just come off which results in leaks. Since this model has a catch pan, a float will result in the dishwasher staying in drain mode. Ive found that short non-barbed plastic nipples will allow hoses to come off over time. The refrigerator was not working for over two weeks (totally dead - no cooling in the freezer and the main refrigerator compartment) while Viking and its local repair service went back and forth on resolving the subject. It was quickly apparent that Viking keeps an arms length distance from such issues. Also apparent is that the local repair does not keep Viking parts in their inventory for repair purposes. Repairman said the refrigerator was shipped from the factory with improper soldering of tubes. After several visits and re-soldering of tubes, the refrigerator again worked. However the repairman said if unit stops working again that is could no longer be repaired - in other words, a dead inoperable appliance. Top dollar was paid for an appliance which at the end of the day was of shoddy quality, and not properly addressed by Viking under its own warranty. Inexcusable.

Moved into our current house and replaced most of the appliances. The Viking French door refrigerator was a splurge. Soon after it was installed problems began. The refrigerator section began freezing all food. A tech was sent out several times. The problem persisted. They replaced the unit twice before one worked properly. It will freeze everything about twice a year. The second problem began about two years after installation. Water leaks out of the unit and the freezer section is constantly filling with water on the bottom. A tech said it was a common issue with the ice maker and that even if he replaced it the problem would return in a year. Once a month we break up the ice and remove it. No more water on the floor. Now the freezer door will not shut. When you close it and let go of the handle the door sags down and does not close. I have a tech scheduled but am fed up with the Viking brand. Never again.

I've had this fridge for nearly 11 years and have had no problems. Because I love to cook, it's great to have such a large fridge which easily holds enough food for whatever I want.

For my kitchen renovation, my design company that they use, Fergusons and the chain of them here in the southeast, the only ones they had everything in stock was Viking. And when I purchased the stove, I got a free dishwasher. Headquarters had to call a lot and I had to have people here all the time. They were really concerned. When you open the fridge, the drawer to pull out, which is cold and you can keep cheese and meats in it, I cut my fingers and they were concerned and had headquarters call. And then, the repair people -- everything was free -- coming out all the time from Fort Myers. The guy called it metal burrs that havent been sanded down. That was quite a worry. They called me from Mississippi. Its very rare and it just wasnt finished. And depending where you place your fingers, you could cut them on metal to open that inside drawer. So, that was a bad experience. Also, the freezer didnt shut properly and the tech had come out several times. It was the most finite adjustment on something. But I could have lost a couple of hundred bucks worth of food because the alarm kept going off. And he came and fixed it, and an hour and a half later, the alarm went off again. He thought he fixed it. So, it was really challenging for the Morale in Fort Myers to contract repair people with Viking here in this area. That was maddening. And then, the dishwasher, an extra button for quietness fell right off on the floor, and it was a glue problem. The Morale had to come again. Its free for me under warranty. It just was disconcerting and all the appliances were brand-new. I heard him talk to headquarters and he said, Yes its a glue issue. And he said, No, I cant reuse it. Its covered in labrador fur and cat hair, which as soon as it started to hang out and the labrador would walk against it and it hung down from the bottom. It didnt seem to make much difference in the quietness. Its an incredibly quiet dishwasher anyway. But they had to order a new one, so that took a while, and they had to come back and put that in. That was a surprise, all that happened right away. But everything got fixed and Ive been very pleased since. Its a super quiet dishwasher and I like the red light that shines on the floor that shows when its on.And then, all the new fridges, all brands, the alarm for the freezer and different ways to adjust the temperature of that meat drawer and the freezer. And then, I like the microwave. Its so nice and simple. There were higher-end ones with the convection fan in the microwave, and I got simplest because I picked over the stove with the vent pan under the microwave. The way my kitchen was designed, it seemed the best route rather than a hood. The stove is unbelievable. This induction stove is the best thing in the planet. I heard good things about them and everybody I know whos renovating was getting new appliances, and new stoves are getting induction, and were just in shock about it was the fastest weve ever seen to boil water or cook. So safe, the way the magnetic field isnt hot. The oven is incredibly fast too. Its interesting. You dont have to preheat at all. The fix-it guy is a surprise too. He was fabulous, a longtime veteran and knows all his Vikings, and he was stunned. He was so puzzled about the freezer not closing. He thought of it truly as a challenge, a puzzle he had to solve. Because when he thought he fixed it, just 90 minutes later, it broke again. So truly, puzzled, and worked on the phone a long time with Viking in Mississippi and tried to solve it. It was the most infinitesimal thing, some tiny adjustment of a gear in the bottom drawer of the freeze. One tiny little gear off compared to the other side and it meant it couldnt close completely, and then it couldnt stay cold. That was his first time ever had to have that. Also, the button that fell off, he was also puzzled. We couldnt figure out where it fell off from. Just one day, I was just looking, and Id hardly had the dishwasher, and there it was hanging down the bottom, then it came completely off, and I called him up. When he came, You sure that came from this? He figured out where it was, couldnt save the old one or the new one, and it took a while to come. But ever since, things have been okay.

Purchased 2 Viking ovens in 2012, stopped work properly in about 10 months. Called Viking for service, found out Viking only warranty is for 6 months. Had a repair person come out, he said the parts would be around $500.00 for each main control boards to fix the problem. Tried using only the convection functions to do most of baking for several years. I did this only because I did not want to spend an additional $1,000. on these damn ovens. Now, the convection is out, called back repair, when everything is completely fixed on both ovens, we are looking at $1,600.00. I think Viking is truly an awful brand, they do not stand behind their products and part are expensive. Buyer beware!

I love to cook and Ive always loved and wanted a Viking range for many years. We finally decided to get a range and Im very happy with it. Our Viking range is something Ive wanted for many years and it is fantastic. I love that I have six burners, that I have the option of convection and that its gas, since Ive always had electric. The team at the Viking dealer was wonderful and great but I was not impressed with all the demonstrations there. We also got a dishwasher, a refrigerator and a hood. Upon delivery, we had a dented dishwasher, which was not anybodys fault, and they replaced it which was fine.

4 to 5 years ago we bought a Viking dishwasher to replace our other one because we couldnt stand the noise. This one was quiet at first and ran pretty good. After the first year it left the dishes wet and ran for four hours. But first we had to reset it five or six times to get it to even run. Today we are buying a Bosch. The Viking caught on fire today and lucky for us it threw the circuit breaker before it got out of hand. Never touching a Viking again.
