Purchased a KitchenAid refrigerator Model #KBFS22EWMS7 in November, 2012 along with a 4 yr extended warranty with a price of $1800. The first week in October 2013, there was a big pool of water on the floor near the refrigerator. Pulled out the fridge thinking a hose had been punctured or a connection was loose. But no, that was not the case. All connections on the back of the fridge were dry. Husband checked more thoroughly and could not find where the leak was coming from. Called the customer service number on the refrigerator user instructions and they set up an appointment with a service person. The service person came out on Friday, Oct. 18, 2013, checked all connections and pulled off panels and checked the back and could not find where the water was leaking. He confirmed there is a leak by seeing all the water on the floor, which looks like had been leaking for a while after seeing the edge of the wall with water damage and mold. But he could not find it and could not tell where it was coming from. So he gave my husband a homework assignment to somehow keep a watch underneath the fridge to determine exactly where the leak is coming from. How about that for customer service!!!! Now after seeing all the similar complaints and issues with KitchenAid, I am so afraid that we are in store for a nightmare of our own!!!! Our current plan is to put some type of rubber mat on the floor underneath the fridge and somehow jack up the fridge a little to be able to see underneath to watch for the leak. This is very frustrating and wish now that I had gone with Maytag!!!!

KitchenAid double gas range (model KGRS505XSS01) burner failed on arrival; knob failed after six months, not covered by warranty. (We tried to force the knob and bent the pin.) That cost $185. Another knob failed one month after warranty ran out. Estimate for same repair is $230. Stainless steel surface is stained, scratched, and discolored. I had trouble on the phone with Sears service company, A&E Services. I was on hold for an extended time as they were having technical difficulty, and eventually I got cut off. Parts available from Sears and from Whirlpool for $59 vs. $80 quoted by A&E Services.

Ok, so for the 2nd time in less than 3 years, the wheel clips on the top wash basket broke, which in turn makes the basket fall down and the washer inoperable. For the price I paid for this dishwasher I will tell you that I was a little more than miffed. The last time it happened, I called my home insurance company out because I did not have the time to deal with the washer (that cost me $70). This time I went online to see about ordering parts. I found this site (and after reading through numerous comments) I have to say that I am extremely disappointed in KitchenAid, especially when I see so many people experiencing the same problem as me. This is obviously a design flaw that needs fixing. So, why did I give them a rating of three? Because upon calling the company to lodge a complaint, I talked with a VERY nice, young lady who worked with me to figure out exactly which part I needed. No stalling, no dodging, she took care of business, put my parts on order and all with no charge to me. Her professionalism is the reason why I gave this a 3 star rating. I have found from experience that when a company has a problem with a product, if you call them (and stay courteous) 9 out of 10 times they will do what it takes to make it right. The lady I talked to was named ** and I am hoping that her supervisor sees this email. Again, thank you ** for your help and professionalism. Semper Fidelis.Updated on June 13, 2015: To be fair to KitchenAid, I am following up from a post I made on June 6th. My parts for the top rack wheel assembly arrived and I just finished installing them. I am happy to see that they have modified the wheel assembly actually using a metal plate this time and it looks like more solid connections for the wheels. I will give them a four star for now as I wait to see how well this modification holds up. Thank you KitchenAid for getting the parts to me in a timely manner. Semper Fi **.

After having a KitchenAid dishwasher that ran well for 11 years, we purchased a KitchenAid dishwasher from Sears on 6/11. This was model KUDS30FSSX2. In November of 12, wheels came off the upper rack and soon after, the motor wouldnt start. It would hum and then not go further in cycle. We had a repairman look at it. He said the motor was bad and that KitchenAid would not replace it. We paid for a replacement (about $400). The wheels on the upper rack were replaced after we complained to Whirlpool. There was never one trip here. They had to call for parts which were sent in about a week. Now, the motor will again not start and we are waiting to get help again. We never talk to the same person twice. The reports above match our experience. This is the same experience we had many years ago with our SAAB auto. They of course are now out of business and their employees lost their jobs. Im sure the execs were well compensated. KitchenAid and their owner, Whirlpool, are headed for the same future. I feel sorry for the employees, but this is what will happen when quality and buyer satisfaction no longer counts. Needless to say, we will never purchase another KitchenAid product or a Whirlpool made product which are marketed under names like Kenmore, etc. Sears too has been no help.

KitchenAid Model #KUDS30IVBT, 4 cycles, 6 options Architect SeriesII. I researched to find a dishwasher with a few upscale options at a reasonable price ($700). I also wanted the silverware rack separate & not built in to the dishwasher itself. This gives me heavy duty, normal, light/China & rinse only options. I also have a Pro scrub for those dirty pots & pans, a Sani-rinse, a high temp scrub, heat dry, and a 4 hr delay.

I, like all the others had the same issue with the water leak. Purchased the extended warranty (thank God), had the service company out, they removed the rubber stopper and we were done, SO I THOUGHT. Have had 2 other repair companies out due to the rising temp, frost, food freezing in the refrigeration area, and the compressor running for periods of up to 4 hours continuously. Was told there was a part that should have been put in when the Rubber Stopper was removed. O.K., replaced that part, problem fixed... NO, and told that it is normal for the Compressor to run up to 80% of the day! Have called Lowes yet again due to the compressor running all day, and an electric bill that has jumped from an average of 125.00 to over 200.00 due to this refrigerator. Keep being told by Lowes that they will submit to their Review Board for replacement, but doubt that anything will come of that. I should have listened to my sister, and stayed away from KitchenAid appliances, when she told me 10 years ago that they were junk. With Black Friday coming, ADVICE, run away from this brand as fast as you can!

We purchased our unit almost two years ago from HHGregg. When the oven is turned on, hot air rushed out of the warning drawer. Also, there is a chemical smell that gives me a headache. I called last year and a representative came to look at the unit and explained that this is how the new models are. I have stopped using the oven as it gives me headaches and makes my kitchen very hot.

Updated on 10/04/2020: When the compressor failed the digital read out display also went. The compressor is covered by 5 year warranty, but not the digital display panel. They failed on the same day?? This is a top of their line unit. (Not cheap). They came out and gave me an estimate of $600 for new digital readout unit. I am at 6 weeks and counting without the fridge and no one can give me a date!Original Review: Appliance was 4 months off first year warranty when compressor failed causing electric control panel to need replacing. Although compressor is covered in second year I was charged for the service call and new control panel (over $600). This was a $2400 bar fridge. I expected better quality and service after purchasing $20,000 in KitchenAid appliances. Not sure this will ever be my brand in the future.

My brand new dishwasher leaked from the moment we got it. Kitchenaid took a long time to send not one, but two repair men out to check it out and we were told by BOTH that we should have the dishwasher replaced since the tub was damaged in addition to a marked front panel. Then it took them weeks to finally say they are replacing the parts and then they come to refurbish it and the tub they bring is damaged. I now have to wait an additional 12 business days to have them come back. This will make a total of 3 months without a dishwasher and I have a toddler. They are the worst customer service I have ever seen. I will never ever buy a product from them and I will never recommend them to anyone.

Purchased a KUDS30IXBL4 dishwasher. One year later it stopped working. Under warranty. $125 later repairman shows up, takes one look at the dishwasher and tells me hell be right back. He doesnt even touch it. He comes in with a new control panel and has it working in 10 minutes. So many of these fail that we keep them stocked on the truck now. Oh, and the worst thing is that the original is warrantied for 3 years, but now that you have a replacement part in it is only warrantied for 90 days. He warned me that I would have problems down the road. One year later and guess what? My 90 day warranty long expired, the control panel has just failed again. It is cheaper to order the part and change it myself. I bought Kitchen Aid because of the brand reputation and quality. Now I know where the AID comes from in the name. Never again.

I purchased this dishwasher in October 2011 which was a Kitchen Aid model KUDC10IXWH4. This was installed in a basement kitchen which is only used at New Years and Easter and is run for a total of 10 loads per year. The control panel failed within the first five loads and we needed factory service. When the service tech arrived I was informed that we had to pay the labor and service call. This failure was in early 2102 after the unit was run for the New Year holiday. We were told by the tech that we should consider the extended warranty because these units constantly fail. The unit starts by itself. The thermal fuse fails about every 6th load at a replacement cost of $138 per trip. Kitchen Aid is absolutely useless in this process and deny any responsibility in this matter. As this unit has just been run enough to empty the sample bottle of Jet Dry and had for service calls I would tell anyone never to buy another Kitchen Aid appliance as we will not ever again. Their customer service is horrible!

In October 2016, I bought stainless dishwasher model KDTEESS1. The appliance itself works well but after one year I noticed rust spots appearing on the front door. It has gotten worse. KitchenAid is not standing behind its product. The door was not sealed or finished properly. I contacted KitchenAid and was told the one year warranty had passed and I had to buy a new door. Clearly this door was defective as I have an older dishwasher which does not have this problem.

Countless hours wasted on the phone and waiting for repairmen. Only offered a 40% discount on a new one but had to pay in full in advance. Replacement arrived damaged after 4 weeks. No refund possible. Still waiting four weeks later and after 6 months still don’t have an operable refrigerator.

Kitchenaid dishwasher broken for 2nd time in 3 years. Weve had a repairman out once already at a cost of $200 to fix an electrical problem with the control panel. I watched him as he reconnected some word, and got the power to return. Worked for about another year and its broken again. Obviously, the front sensor panel is defective. Ive never seen such crap. My old Maytag which just wore out after 14 years, was replaced with the KitchenAid which consumer reports was the most reliable. I have to have another expensive repair technician, who from the looks of things, is equally incompetent. I learned this from a previous repair on my refrigerator. Until they sent out a guy with 20+ years of experience, it wasnt fixed right.

We bought a very nice looking French door refrigerator and only six days later, it stopped cooling the food. The thermometers we put in it registered 50 degrees! The store would not replace it. Theyll just send out a technician and they dont know when that will be. Frankly, I dont trust KitchenAid as far as I can throw a stick if after only 6 days, it is not working. What happens in 60 days or 6 months? This was a brand new unit in the box and not a floor model. At least the freezer works and the full length deli drawer is working. I have food I have to move to an old garage fridge. They wont take care of that.

This is for a KitchenAid range that we purchased just one year ago. We actually love the range and its versatility but it has ONE MAJOR DESIGN FLAW. The writing on the knobs rubs off with just a finger. It happened to all four of my knobs and I have had to reorder all four as I can no longer tell what setting I am on. They cost almost $30 each. I feel ripped off. I think that this design aspect, by 2013 should be a no brainer. Guess I was wrong...

I bought my refrigerator in 2004 and started having problems right after the 12 months mark. The freezer would turn into a big iceberg. The refrigerator is warm and sweaty. First technician who came out said the board controlling the temperature had to be replaced for $300. Since the fridge started working properly again, I never replaced the part. After working on and off for several years, with me hammering ice from the inside of the freezer at least once every other week, now it totally stopped working. The freezer and all vents are completely frozen, including the vents in the refrigerator. The refrigerator is warm and moldy and I keep throwing food away. Technicians sent by KA hold me hostage in my own home with 4-hour window appointments and then show up out of that time frame and leave sorry, we missed you notes on my door. Every time I call Customer Service, I get a different answer going from sorry, you are totally out of warranty to only certain parts are still covered. Once you pay someone to come out and look at it, well be able to tell if the part is covered or not. I live in FL where everything has to be refrigerated. Im about to roll the fridge to the curb and buy another one... any brand as long as its not KitchenAid.

We purchased our KitchenAid dishwasher three months ago. We have had at least two previous dishwashers which were fine. This model KDFE104HPS O leaves water on the dishes and the door. We had two repairmen look at it. The most recent said there seems to be no problem even though the dishes do not dry. He stated that 1) The stainless steel models seem to have that problem; 2) We need to get the water hot before starting the dishwasher so it does not lose the first cycle heating the water; 3) We should use a special rinse agent to aid the drying and 4) We should use the extra dry cycle. In addition, there is an odor that smells like a wet blanket and I think I have even smelled mold. I have owned five dishwashers over the years and have never had this problem. The solutions provided by the repairman actually will cost us more money to run the machine. The only good feature is how quiet it runs.

After researching many brands we decided to go with a friend’s recommendation for a KitchenAid gas range. After owning it for a few months now we’re very disappointed with the wear & tear. It was delivered with the side dented, which given our timely need, we decided to live with as it’s mostly hidden. We have found however that cleaning the stove top is very difficult (heavy pieces to remove and place back) and the stainless steel surface scratches and scuffs way too easily. If you’re a tidy person like me this will drive you nuts so proceed carefully with this one! After a few months it’s already starting to look worn in.

This has been a nightmare since we purchased, has stopped working several times and after service it continues to have issues, no ice making, fan freezing up, temperature in refrigerator up to 45 degrees. They have sent two repair companies and replaced all parts. The first company has declined to accept the insurance company work to repair again. They stated it was a lemon. Now they are sending another repair company to change the computer systems. That was a month ago and the parts are not in. Side by Side KSC24C8EYY01 - We put in a new counter depth KitchenAid refrigerator 3 1/2 years ago. The freezer recently stopped working for no apparent reason, then kicked back on after 24-36 hours. This has happened 4 times in less than 3 weeks. By the time the service man gets here to check it out, the freezer is back to working, and he cant find a problem. The 2nd time he called Whirlpool and went through an entire diagnostic testing and still found nothing. He thought the Whirlpool technician that he spoke to was not too bright, and actually rather rude and indifferent. The only recommendation they had was to replace the mother board for a cost of $800 - with no guarantee that replacing it will solve the problem - it was just a guess. The service man told us that he wouldnt buy a KitchenAid appliance for anything - their service department was difficult to work with and trying to get parts needed for repair can be a nightmare. We will NOT be repairing this refrigerator and we will NOT EVER purchase another Whirlpool appliance - EVER.

Model KDTE104ESS - purchased 13 months ago; 3rd dishwasher we had - others
Model KDTE104ESS - purchased 13 months ago; 3rd dishwasher we had - others changed with kitchen upgrades, never had a failure such as this. Previous dishwashers were Kenmore, Frigidaire; latter was a very basic model; in same residence 32+ yrs, kids (3) no longer part of current household. Dishwasher used 6-7 times per week in household of 2, with my wife cooking 5-6 days a week; moderate use, rarely use heavy-duty clean cycle with present dishwasher. This model has a 2-stage filter (fine, coarse), with recommended cleaning varying from once/2 months to yearly. We did not clean it since new, since we scrape dishes, do minimal pre-wash or none - our usual practice for 32 yrs in present house, 6-8 yrs in prior house. When dishwasher quit draining, checked filters, small amount of residue (1/2 tsp or less), no significant coarse grit seen. Noted no discharge from DW via exhaust tube with 3 successive cycles. I watched running empty DW. Had purchased an extended warranty for a year (3 appliances, range, fridge & DW), all purchased together, all KitchenAid, 13 mos ago with complete kitchen remodeling after 22 yrs since last remodeling.Repairman (under warranty) checked machine, found exhaust pump clogged with debris, failed; emptied some particulate matter from exhaust tube into a bucket, looked like congealed fat, a few parsley & other leafy matter. No hard grit seen. He did say that matter had been pulled past the filters (couldnt say why other than pump has a suction like a vacuum), though neither filter was even moderately clogged.KitchenAid approved a $300 plus sum for pump replacement; their consumer services could not answer my query as to how so much debris got past the filters to cause pump failure within 13 mos. This model does not have a grinder as in next higher model, but again, there was not much particulate debris I could see; pump was not yet removed, so will wait to see what it looks like.In summary, very disappointed with this early pump failure, with way less usage than in prior dishwashers that functioned well for a family of 5 for 10 yrs, and 22 yrs respectively. Believe Kenmore is made by Whirlpool, the parent company of KitchenAid, so the design, though older, is I feel similar. Modern DW detergents (we use the satchets, not powder or liquid) recommend NOT scraping too much food residue off dishes, to allow triggering of enzymatic action for cleaning dishes. We rarely see residue, occasional baked on material such as egg yolk, which we now clean off; no pots go in DW, rare baking dishes, which we scrub off in the sink. So we dont feel this DW was overworked.Writing this while searching for others with similar pump failures, trying to understand why two levels of filters failed to protect a pump that obviously is rather delicate, hence recommendation by KitchenAid Consumer Services now that every month we run an empty cleaning cycle with an Affresh tablet to clear the system. BTW, weve never seen hard-water residue inside any of our dishwashers; the prior two did not have stainless steel interiors, never required special interior cleaning with bicarbonate etc., for any build-up; we get city water, pipe-bourne, just flushed out my gas water heater after 4-5 yrs, saw a small amount of milky flow at beginning of drainage, then clear; I have a water filter at my house cold-water intake; the water (filtered) in the fridge is always clear, no problems with ice-makers over 32+ yrs, no hard-water cum anywhere.KitchenAid has no answer for us other than the Affresh cleaning cycle; we use a comparable DW detergent to the recommended Cascade, not Cascade Platinum as recommended; anybody with a similar problem, either with KitchenAid dishwashers or any Whirlpool family dishwashers (include the high-end Jenn-Air brand now)? Am feeling very disappointed with this choice right now, will expect another pump failure in 1-2 yrs, if so will look for remedy from KitchenAid, or else...!Can scan receipt of purchase from Lowes store locally if required. I have no repair order number, as requested below. Do have extended warranty # if required. We had Sears brand appliances in our old house (8 years), still have Sears (Kenmore) washer and dryer, 3 sets over 43 yrs of married life, 2nd set in this house, first set lasted 24 years, top-loaders, replaced when laundry room was remodeled, now with HE front loaders that are currently 8+ years old. Some repairs were needed, recall replacing motor of current washer when motor-bearing became noisy.

We started having issues with our KitchenAid dishwasher, KUDS301XBLO, potscrub light staying on just after the one-year warranty was up, but we were able to reset it. Then we noticed the dishes were not getting clean and the potscrub light was staying on. It will not even complete a cycle. We have only had this dishwasher 1 and 1/2 years. I called to ask about the 2- to 5-year warranty that covers all parts of defective equipment and was told I had to pay $129 service call for them to come and look at it, then I would have to pay for parts. I was offered to buy an extended warranty for $259. That seems like a lot for a dishwasher that cost more than $800 a year ago. I have been reading that the control panels have been malfunctioning and starting fires. I am very upset that this higher end dishwasher is less reliable than a $400 one. I have also read that the manufacturer is aware of this problem and has failed to recall this product.

We have had a French Door fridge by KitchenAid in March 2019. Today is the third service call on the freezer filling with frost, and the ice maker, which pours ice out at an unbelievable volume constantly. The ice maker has now been replaced twice, and the technician tried to blame me for its malfunctioning (because I love taking time off work to hang out with him, I guess?). The door has rust spots all over it (which he has used my baking soda and vinegar to attempt to clean), and he told me today that part of the motor sounds like its going to need to be replaced, too. Customer service is like a Kafka story...theres no way to replace what is clearly a defective item until its deemed unrepairable, but theres also no rule about how many repairs/replacements will deem something unrepairable. I just know my warranty will end up running out before they replace the item. Im so deeply disappointed because something like a brand new fridge doesnt make it into my life very often, and thinking that Ive wasted my money on a clunker that will continue now to waste my time & money is heartbreaking. I wish the company will take responsibility for their product and stand behind it when it doesnt work properly.

On Sept. 10, 2016 I called a KitchenAid authorized repair shop (Dan Marc Appliance, because the top inside of my microwave had a hole in the roof). On Sept. 14, the technician arrived and I was told the part will be ordered. On 9/29/16, I called Dan Marc for an update but they had no information. On 10/3/16, I called Dan Marc again and was told the part was on back order. On 10/21/16, I called Dan Marc again for an update and they told me the part would be in by 10/26/16. Its now 10/30/16 and I havent heard from Dan Marc. I would buy another microwave, but Ive already paid Dan Marc for a service call totaling $120. My microwave is only 5 years old so I cant understand why it takes 8 weeks to get a replacement part. I will never buy another KitchenAid appliance again!

Purchased (2) drawer type KitchenAid dishwashers from Sears in late 2009. Built new house, attempted installation since June 2011. Unsuccessful at initiating cycle. Plumbing lines create enough back pressure to break door seal shutting off cycle. Installation manual incorrectly shows plumbing mounted on left rear side. Pre-plumbed at factory from rear of unit. emailed KitchenAid last week, no response. Offered installation service from Sears in August (?), service technician had never installed a drawer type dishwasher. Gave up. Different Sears installer here now, 11/28/11. Having difficulty diagnosing and fixing problem. Two year warranty expired in October without dishwasher ever running one cycle. Sent KitchenAid letter, no response! Horrible response from both KitchenAid and Sears.

Had the same thing happen with a potato that I sensor cooked this evening. I am so thankful that I was in the kitchen when it happened. The potato actually caught on fire and the flames were inside the microwave. I had to take the potato out of the oven and burned myself in the process. I dont dare use it now. If I had been in another room, who knows what would have happened? As far as Im concerned, its trashed! From what I have been reading here from you folks, it doesnt appear that KitchenAid is very helpful no matter what the problem. You pay top $ for what you think is a good product, lesson learned. Could have bought 10 one hundred dollar ones for what I paid for it.

It does not clean well as it should no matter which brand or type (gel vs power vs pack) I use. Noisy. Long long cycle. I have had two kitchen aids before this and was happy. Then this house came with Maytag which did not do halfway good job cleaning. Then when it broke I chose KitchenAid. But this one seems noisier and even the cycle seems long - it may be average just seems long. The dishes do not come clean. Especially forks.

Horrible manufacturing!!! KitchenAid dishwasher model KUDE20IXSS8. Motor only mounted with a very SMALL PLASTIC grommet. Further, from the motor is a rubber hose/gasket that is clamped with a one-time-use flimsy ring. This attaches to the plastic drain pipe. When the grommet failed (vibration, etc), the flimsy plastic ring could not hold the weight of the motor separating the motor with the rubber hose FROM the drain pipe. SEE where Im going here, yes, catastrophic failure. Yup, water gushed out all over my kitchen floor. Under flooring, cabinets, under refrigerator. Water/moisture mitigation was encouraged by insurance company before repairs. Repairman also mentioned he has repaired this same problem 5 times. Shame on KitchenAid (made by Whirlpool), this should be recalled and at a minimum manufacturing resign is a must!

Architect Series II Electric, free standing range: Overall, DO NOT BUY A KITCHENAID product due to user error, we needed to replace the oven door seal/gasket. After searching online & by phone in our area and being told that part is not available, I called KitchenAid. As we had registered our appliance they were able to verify our range was only 5 years old. THEY NO LONGER HAVE GASKETS FOR THIS MODEL. No other model gaskets will fit this model. Instead of the anticipated $60.00 repair cost we were told all they could do was sell us a comparable model for employee cost... not including shipping, installation and haul off of our current unit. I blew MY gasket & told them absolutely not. Not one .00 over the stated cost!! The upshot? $700.00+ later, with a wait of over 2 weeks, we will get a new range. They had us over a barrel with no other options for the price. I am flabbergasted, frustrated, disappointed & without a working oven for over half a month. I have always thought of KitchenAid as a quality product & in fact have been happy with the unit. I cannot recommend KitchenAid any longer with its program of planned obsolescence. KitchenAid as a company is horrid. Decent products, lousy policies with employees stuck in an awful position.

Kitchen Aid Refrigerators Model KBFC42FTSOO - Shame on you KitchenAid. I ha
Kitchen Aid Refrigerators Model KBFC42FTSOO - Shame on you KitchenAid. I have several media contacts and once they report on all this I am hopeful that consumers will boycott your product. I also bought a 6300.00 refrigerator from the Great Outdoors in 2011. They were closing and since Sears owned them I purchased a floor model that was on display in a cabinet but had no power on to it. So I figured I saved 1100.00 between the brand new one. Wrong, I was told by the salesperson that it was a new model but when it was delivered and I tried to register it, it was manufactured in 2007. I called the store and Sears but since my receipt was stamped no refunds or exchanges they got me good. So now 3 years later the damn thing never worked right from the start and I have called it a piece of ** from the beginning. Guess what, my control panel out!! They do not have the part, tsunami story told and then broken contract with other company. I immediately called KitchenAid because I could not believe what this Tech was saying. Either I find an outside company with a rebuilt Control Panel or I can wheel the refrigerator to the side of the and basically its junk. KitchenAid confirm that they did not have the part and that the manufacturer was destroyed in the tsunami and the other company that has been listed several of these others complain are no longer is willing to make the control panels for them. I might have a chance of them rebuilding one for me directly and proceeded to provide the phone number for me which was wrong having to call them back and spend another 30 minutes on the phone. Another woman gave me two different phone numbers, none of them worked as well. After the third phone call I was provided with a company name and phone number they gave me that will certainly sell me a rebuilt one. I just paid $1200 for a rebuilt board. Interesting enough this company is offering a 10 year warranty on a rebuild control panel however KitchenAid only offers a one year warranty. I am sure kitchen Aid knew there was problems with this board for years. They should have recalled that or extend the warranty. I have never heard of a company not having a part in to be able to fix these refrigerator when people have paid so much money for them. Unless you have a money tree in your backyard and are able to pick enough for a new $8500-$10,000 refrigerator which I do not. They should stock the part and be able to control the market from other outside companies hiking it up prices to their desperate customers that just need their refrigerators fixed, realistically the part probably cost about $2.00 to make. I called KitchenAid as well, they said theyre putting in my case up for review to do the prorated. Its changed. From what Ive heard $1500 doesnt equal $6000 and these parts are not that expensive to obtain. This is absolutely the most hideous thing Ive ever seen a company do. This is the United States. This is a huge corporation. I hope everyone never buys a KitchenAid product again. Why would anyone in their right mind take $1500 for refrigerator thats worth more so we have no choice but to go to outside venues for these parts? Again outrageous, ridiculous and the most disgusting thing a manufacturing company can do. If they’re so willing to cough up the prorated amount why dont they do the right thing and at least split the cost of the part with the consumer if theyre giving them willy nilly numbers of outside companies and not controlling the market. Why would a company offer a 10 year warranty and not the manufacturer? I have purchased KitchenAid products for years. My whole kitchen is full of this top-of-the-line series. I will be slowly changing every single KitchenAid product out of my kitchen and if I am going to spend the money on that type of product itll certainly be Sub-Zero that offers a 12 year warranty from top to bottom on the refrigerators. There are hardly any bad reviews about Sub-Zero. KitchenAids competitors seems like they at least know how to stand behind their consumer. Shame on you KitchenAid. This is disgusting. Oh by the way, the tech Whirlpool factory care that KitchenAid called for me cause if I used someone else, my what little of a piece of junk warranty is left would be void. Charged me $145.00 for call and removal of board and oh by the way I have to have him reinstall the board for another $145.00. Cause warranty on motor and compressor will be voided if I reinstall. Pissed off!!

I have a KitchenAid Superba double wall oven (#KEBC208KSS) needing a new electronic panel. It no longer cleans and the oven light doesnt always turn off. I have been told it needs a new panel (again). This is my second KitchenAid Superba oven. I replaced the last oven because the panel had to be replaced three times but only twice under warranty. Then we moved and the house we bought had the same ovens. The cost of these panels installed is now nearly $500 with only a 90-day warranty! I also have a hard time believing KitchenAid continues to make a faulty product and sells it for nearly $3,000. Ive ordered new ovens of different brand. Its tough to believe they cant find a way to fix the issues with their electronic panels.

I purchased a Kitchenaid microwave model KMCC5015GSS for nearly $700.00 just over two years ago. It now needs a magnetron but according to my own research and the repair technician, this part is not available. Further, trying to contact Kitchenaid about this problem is an absolute torture. I have on three occasions spent over 30 minutes on hold. I still have hope that someone will eventually be able to help me with this repair but my experience so far is extremely bad or non-existent. We built a new home in the Rio Grande Valley in 2005. Since we had previously remodeled our home in Irving, Texas using KitchenAid products which gave excellent service, we assumed we could rely on newer models to do the same. This was a mistake. We installed a stainless steel oven/microwave combination (Model No: KEHC309KSS 05, Serial No: XS060040 57). The microwave door springs continually break and the light bulb burns out regularly. The product requires a service call every year. It requires two men to change the microwave light bulb because the whole unit has to be pulled from the cabinet. One man must hold the unit while the second replaces the bulb. Even though the service people are told they must send two men, they seldom comply, requiring the scheduling of a second service call. If we did not continually purchase extended warranties, there would be no way to keep the product operable. After reading all of the posted complaints, we are now afraid to use the self-cleaning part of the actual oven. This was a poorly designed product which never should have been marketed in the first place. After a two page letter listing the number of service calls and the problems, we received a call from KitchenAid stating they had received the letter, had no record of any previous complaints and were relaying the information to their engineers. It sounded as though there would be no follow-up and no effort to resolve the complaint. Its amazing that a company can continue in business with so many complaints against it by relying on past reputation. We would never recommend a KitchenAid product again.

You can brush up against it and you wont even know until later on when you smell the horrible scent of gas. I was cleaning my stove earlier this morning and came back inside the house and I knew right away that the smell was gas and sure enough the knob was ever so lightly turned to the left and emitting gas fumes. We bought a top of the line KitchenAid refrigerator, including an icemaker, about 2 1/2 years ago when we rebuilt our home after a fire. It has a stainless steel door to match the other appliances in out kitchen. Initially, everything worked fine. More recently, the ice was melting in the ice maker and it was jamming. The door also has become damaged and started rusting. We didnt buy the extended warranty, so we had a repair person come to service the refrigerator. He replaced a part and recharged with some freon. The repair cost $500. The ice was still melting (about a month later), so we asked the repair person to come again. He said the compressor is faulty and has to be replaced. It would have to be shipped from outside the country and would cost more than $1,000 (plus labor!). We have decided to replace the refrigerator.

You have been fair warned. If you still buy a KitchenAid refrigerator after reading this then you have no right to complain. Total piece of junk - completely failed after less than 2 years. We lost several hundred dollars of food. Apt Appliances offered to do nothing but charge a $165 service call with a $400 labor minimum. This is after I bought ALL my appliances from them for a new house build. I called KitchenAid and they too denied warranty until I really started complaining and only then did they remember that there is some 2-4 year warranty covering many major parts and I could just purchase a warranty plan for $300 odd dollars to cover labor. They have zero pride in their product. I know the days of 30 year old appliances are gone, but 2 years - really???? Furthermore, their customer service people were aloof and rude. The best I can hope for is a class action law suit. Hopefully some law firm does a search that that term and stumbles upon these posts and takes action against them. This is what I get for buying made in America? Hopefully Honda will start making appliances!!!! In closing, may Satan curse KitchenAid.

KitchenAid® 27-Inch Single Wall Oven, Architect® Series II - I purchased this Oven October 5, 2013. It was installed October 24, 2013. On December 31, 2013 it stopped working. I called for service and they could not get to me until January 6, 2014. The serviceman came out that morning and took a look at the oven and found that the fuse had blown in it. Lucky me they did not have one in stock and they had to order one. The fuse came in on January 8, 2014 and they came out and installed it. I did not use the oven again until January 14, 2014 because of some other issues in my kitchen. January 14, 2014 I turned it on and used it to bake something. It worked fine. I walked away from it after I was done baking and came back about 45 minutes later and it had died again. It will not come back on. My guess is that it is the fuse again. I would not recommend this oven to anyone!!!!! At this rate I will have a serviceman at my house every week to repair this oven. I called a supervisor at Kitchen Aid January 16, 2014 and they want me to keep the oven and they want to extend the warranty. This will happen when some place freezes over!!!!

We purchased a stainless steel KitchenAid bottom freezer refrigerator in September 2013. It was fine for a year, but suddenly the PO sign showed up on display board and nothing has been right since then. Upon calling Whirlpool (30 minutes on phone) they suggested we call the repair companies listed on their website. First company we called was Diamond Repair and that guy fiddled around and since he could not figure out the problem, told us that the fault was with the outlet in our brand new built house! Ok, so we called the builder and they looked at it and declared it fine but changed it to a brand new one. Problem continued with the constant beeping and PO symbol on. Then I called Maytag company to look at it and that has been a nightmare. After the first tech left, our water dispenser that was working fine till then, stopped dispensing. They said that maybe it was a coincident that it failed and their tech was not at fault. What!!! They are simply unhelpful. Their techs come out and between the two visits they have changed each and every circuit board, to no avail. Much to our chagrin, whenever I call Whirlpool customer service center, and speak to a manager, they make me repeat the problem, promise me that they will call back and I never hear from them!! One time they supposedly ordered new door for this fridge, but the tech from May-tag came with new circuit boards and did know anything about any door being ordered. I wash my hands off Whirlpool company. The fridge was clearly a lemon. In all the years of owning several refrigerators, this has by far been the worst fridge we have owned but the Whirlpool customer service has been pathetic, to say the least. I will make sure none of my next appliance is even partly owned by Whirlpool!

It did not wash the dishes efficiently and the drying setting never worked. I had Kitchen Aid come and look at it and they told me it was an “energy efficient” dishwasher so it did not dry dishes thoroughly. I had my plumber come and look at the connection to make sure all was fine. Kitchen aid put me off until my warranty was up. I replaced it with a GE that is energy efficient and works really well, it is not as quiet, but washes my dishes and my drying setting works when needed. I was disappointed in the product but. Upper rack was over designed with too many moving features causing inherent weaknesses in plastic components. One year after use started the first plastic tabs started breaking. Without buying a whole new rack there was only one option. Had to figure out stainless steel bolts and nuts to replace broken tabs. Tedious but do-able. I believe most people (probably 95%) do not adjust the racks anyway because they are complicated to adjust. Why build things that break? Just keep it simple! Otherwise this dishwasher works great. It is very quiet and washes well. Clean look. If they would make the upper rack as simple as the bottom rack it would be bullet proof. But no, the Kitchenaid engineers and marketing people had to complicate it by putting in breakable features most people do not use. Thanks for messing up an otherwise great product. Now figuring out my fourth set of bolts to keep the upper rack in place and gliding like it should.

We replaced our old dishwasher with a KitchenAid one hoping to have a long-lasting efficient one that would really clean our dishes well. We have had several repairs from Best Buy where the dishwasher was purchased. Our problems started six months after purchase and are as follows: First, the heated dry function does not come on with normal cycle. Second, the on-hour wash cycle does not clean well at all, so we can only use the longer cycles which are more time-consuming. We have replaced the racks three times. KitchenAid was contacted and they feel Best Buy should take responsibility for the machine while Best Buy held Whirlpool responsible. We did not purchase the extended warranty on the faith that KitchenAid is a good brand with a quality product. We will not purchase a Whirlpool or KitchenAid product in the future.

Our KitchenAid dishwasher model KUDS40FVSS (purchased in April 2011) stopped working (no water was being sprayed). We called County TV and Appliance (where we bought it) in Stamford, CT to get the name of an authorized service company. We were initially given Mr. Appliance in Connecticut at (203)-966-8151. They did not bother to call back until we made a third attempt. By the time they finally returned our call, we had made an appointment with J.B. Service located in Trumball, CT. They were supposed to arrive on Monday, Nov 19th between 9-12. They did not show up nor did they bother to call to say they would be unable to make the appointment. We rescheduled the repair work for today (Tuesday, Nov 20th) from 2-4 pm. The service technician arrived at around 3 pm but left not fixing the dishwasher saying that the shaft in the motor that grinds the food is broken and had to be replaced at a cost of around $400. The parts have to be ordered and it will take about three days to arrive. This is great. Thanksgiving is in two days and I have a house full of people arriving! What really bothers me is the diagnosis. The motor that grinds the food is bad. The ironic part is that I am one of those people who washes all the food off of my dishes before I put the dishes in the dishwasher. I really use my dishwasher for sanitation purposes only. So how can a motor that is not used for that purpose suddenly go bad? Furthermore, we had to pay $127.62 for the service call despite the fact that the company did not have the parts available. The technician then told us that only a portion of the service call invoice would be applied to the repair. I find it hard to believe that KitchenAid service can be so poor and that the motor can go bad in such a short time when it is not used for the purpose of grinding food!

In the past 8 year I have built 2 new homes on the upscale side of the housing market. In both situations I used higher appliances from KitchenAid. For the investment made, I am very dissatisfied with quality of the produce drawers. On both drawers, the chrome deco on the drawer handle has come loose dueto faulty adhesive and both drawers have cracked in the center of the drawer handles. This is something I would expect from a 300.00 refrigerator, not one over 2000 dollars @ builders cost. In addition, I had the ice maker replaced in 6 months due to a faulty board, which is something you as manufacturers are aware of, but failed to advise the consumer. We have replaced the ice maker board and now will address replacing both produce drawers. I must say that after less than one year of ownership and facing the fact that all the other series of appliances are also KitchenAid products, I am waiting for the next problem to occur. I come from a family of builders, both residential and commercial and intend to advise them to consider other upscale appliance manufacturers on future projects. If this letter never goes up the management ladder I am sure I will receive the same reply as my last e-mail, indicating that your Customer Service Department also needs repair. Being an owner of several national companies myself, I am very aware of the damage that can be done by not reacting to a problem, where consumers are involved. Thank you.

Our Gas Range/Oven is a little over two years old. It has a self cleaning feature, that you would think I should be able to use. The first few times it worked fine, no issues. I used the self cleaning feature in November of 2017 and received an error message, but didnt really tell me the problem, after it was done the oven door locked and I could not get it to open, even after I tried to cancel and reset. I had to call a repair person, since KitchenAid wanted no part of it, since it was no longer under warranty, how convenient. $180.00 dollars later it was repaired, I needed a new part, since the technician said that with the self cleaning feature it tripped something in the electrical system, and he also added that it will probably happen again. So I have this self cleaning and I cant use it. Unbelievable.Anyway, I did use it again, and no issues, but last night I set to self clean for one hour and guess what, it happened again. My door is locked and the inside oven light is on, and I cant turn it off. I reached out again to KitchenAid, and they were very sorry and would refer this to their support team, but no recalls on my appliance are on file, therefore, they cant do anything for me. They replaced a fan in there and then I had it out again because it just wasn’t powerful enough and they said there was nothing they could do. The cost of the microwave was $2500. One of the fridges randomly will just make this worrying waze. Who knows why. I don’t even want to call service man for that. And the ice maker has given us problems from the first six months. And now the ice maker has died. I would periodically have to unplug it and leave it for a day and plug it in and it would work but now nothing. I think that thing cost $2700. We did not buy these appliances at Lowe’s but at an upscale appliance store where they guaranteed me that it is a better quality than if you purchased a KitchenAid on the floor of a big box store. I would never purchase a KitchenAid appliances again. I also have Wolf Appliance as a double wall oven and a large commercial stove. The double oven timer you can’t hear it and less you have your ear up against it. I had a service man out and he said there’s nothing you can do about that. The commercial stove one of the front electrical ignition switches doesn’t work that up and cost 50,000. It is insanity that these companies are in business. So poor quality and they don’t seem to care. I don’t even know if it’s worth it to have a service man come out and check my ice maker.

This is the second review I am writing about this oven. The first review I wrote was a couple weeks after it was installed and I gave it 5 stars. Its a beautiful oven. The stovetop/burners work great. The top oven is the one I use the most and at first it was fine, but after about a month, I noticed the blue interior is peeling off the base plate on the top oven and black splotches started appearing. I removed the base plate and tried to clean it but there wasnt anything on it. The blue was just disappearing in places. I took the oven plate back to the store I bought it at and they ordered a new one.The second plate started doing the same thing after only a couple of weeks. The blue coating is clearly not perfected and I really wonder if it is releasing chemicals or flaking off into the food. I cannot recommend this to anyone. KitchenAid - you need to do more testing before you release products into the market. I am a product developer - I know when something hasnt been tested appropriately. Im waiting for my third base plate to arrive but I am likely going back to the store to tell them to replace the oven. My preference would be to replace it with a different brand, but the over the oven microwave that a purchased at the same time is also KitchenAid brand (ut-oh).

Just wanted to throw my $.02 in for what its worth. We bought a KitchenAid side by side refrigerator and have been totally dissatisfied with it right from the beginning. First, it is very loud when running. When we complained, the response was, to paraphrase, give it a few weeks, youll get used to it and you wont even notice it. That hasnt worked. Second, the ice maker is a joke. Very slow to make ice, cubes are small, and it wont keep up with the ice needs of only 2 people in the household. My recommendation is to trust the reviews and dont buy KitchenAid! Crappy products and crappier customer service!

The glass window on my two-week-old KitchenAid Superba double oven with convection exploded last night during the cleaning cycle. Glass flew out all over the floor, clogged the vents of the oven, and terrified me. Thankfully, I was home and able to turn off the unit before anything else happened. Now, I am afraid to replace this with another KitchenAid, especially after seeing these other instances of glass doors shattering.

My husband and I bought a refrigerator from Gerhards at 9475 Roosevelt Blvd a Philadelphia, PA on 06/09/13. We also purchased the extended warranty thru them. Kitchen Aid model KF1S27CXMS, 27CF DR bam REF ICE KA, purchased from Gerry Gerhard, one of the owners. It was delivered about a week later, thought everything was okay. My husband noticed that the doors were not lining up, so service from Gerhards came out. First tech had no idea how to fix it so we scheduled another tech from Gerhards to come out. This time he said not only the doors were off, the right door was dented, he said he would recommend another fridge. So we had set up another date for a pick up and exchange. The next one was worse than the one we already had, so we scheduled another pick up and exchange. That also was damaged when it arrived at my house. So we called Jerry said we could pick out a different fridge but when we got there, he told us to travel to his Glenside store for a bigger selection. We picked out another brand but Jerry said it would be another $400.00 which we just couldnt afford, so we kept the original one with a $200.00 credit from Gerhards. Well about 2 months ago, the water and ice stopped working, so being under the warranty we were told to call Kitchen Aid and we were told to contact Quaker City which we did. The tech came out had to order a part, but in the meantime the fridge stopped being cold and the freezer quit. So Quaker City said food would stay good approx 48 hours. The part that was replaced didnt work so now there are 2 parts on order, and this was well before Thanksgiving!!!!!!! We had to throw all our food out! This has been and continues to be a complete disaster! We dont know who to turn to, I was so happy getting a French door freezer on the bottom with ice maker and water. Now I wish we kept our old no frills one! Communication with Quaker City is the Pits! I also called Gerry Gerhard and he wont return any of my calls! Great business ethics!!!!!

Had to have KitchenAids preferred service company out to replace the duckbill drain with a p-trap to drain defrost cycle water as the duckbill clogs and overflows to bottom of freezer and had to chip out ice every few days. KA directed us to use the service as there is a service notice out on this model (so obviously KA knows about this issue), and KA says they have no intention of paying any part of the repair service. I would not recommend KitchenAid to anyone. If we still had wood floors instead of having recently replaced them with tile, the floors would be ruined.

I purchased a brand new KitchenAid double oven range model KGRS505XWH01. Three weeks after use, we noticed that the paint is lifting off the front panel, above the knob on the left side. I called and they sent a repair person and it was changed. The same problem appeared 2 months later. I sent pictures to the service department and questioned why this problem is reoccurring. They told me that they are changing the service company and the new service crew will take care of it. After a month, a new panel arrived and then A&E Factory service called and set up appointment for repair. The panel was changed and again, a couple months, the same issue. I called the service department and to my surprise, they told me that they do not warranty cosmetic issues. I complained that this is a defect in design or their manufacturing process. They did not care. I sent a letter through my attorney to Jeff Fettig, President and CEO, Whirlpool Corporation. I had a call from their executive office and they promised the problem will be fixed for good. Next, we had a call from A&E Factory service for repair schedule. They changed the front panel, top tray and a burner. I thought this fixes it and were excited, but the serviceman hinted on similar problem many places which has been reoccurring. Anyway, the problem is back after four trips and now I called Whirlpool service and they are telling me that it is over a year and out of warranty. I am sure this product has a major defect and they need to do a recall or get a panel which the paint stays on. I will never buy anything from Whirlpool corporation for as long as I live.

Geek squad was out at least 7 other times, replaced everything inside stove too (kept turning itself off). Bought extended warranty from Whirlpool, but not really whirlpool. Assurance is extended warranty company? Started sending AAA appliance out, theyve replaced everything inside at least once, some twice. Still doesnt make ice and leaks. They call whirlpool but apparently should be calling Assurance. AAA can’t fix it, told whirlpool it needs to be replaced. Assurance knows nothing about it? What a nightmare. The last reviewer commented Shame on the salesperson for selling a product with known problems. However, lets put the blame squarely where it belongs - KitchenAid! When my oven failed 2 days ago after using the self clean, I thought I would contact them to see if they really do have as poor of customer service as Ive read about. Yes, indeed they do have about the worst customer service I have ever experienced. They completely fail to acknowledge the very frequent problem that their ovens fail after using the self-clean. Its all over the internet with so many documented cases, yet KitchenAid calls it an occasional failure of man made components. A clear design flaw which they refuse to acknowledge. Our microwave was bought in 2007 and it is terrible. The door is cracked where they put the screw in too tight. The biggest concern is that it turns on by itself. We have already had it repaired once because it would not heat correctly, of course, not under warranty! Now, like many others, we get an F2 locked message and have to unplug it or the microwave runs by itself. What a terrible product. We bought all our KitchenAid products--microwave, oven, refrigerator and dishwasher--at Lowes and they have only lasted five years. Even the refrigerator was cheaply made!

I bought a KitchenAid refrigerator Model: KSC24C8EY in March 2013. 13 months later the ice maker started to generate less and less ice. I called KitchenAid for support but they told me the warranty expired so I waited to see what would happen. In June 2015 my kitchen floor flooded with water from the refrigerator, forcing me to call KitchenAid again. They told me they could send someone to fix the problem but asked me to pay $319.00 first. Instead I called and hired a local technician for $75.00 who found out that one of the hoses connected to the ice maker was cracked and leaking. After he replaced the broken hose the ice maker began to function normally and the leaking problem stopped. I am upset that this new refrigerator gave me so many problems, from the leaking hose that consistently flooded the floor to the non-functioning ice maker. After only using it for two years I am very depressed and dissatisfied with the service provided by the machine and KitchenAid.

The refrigerator lasted exactly 22 months at which time the freezer stopped working. We called a service repair man and he noted that it was a very serious problem - the entire cooling unit of the refrigerator needed to be replaced and would cost $1500-1600 to repair. He advised we buy a new refrigerator. We are in the process of doing so, as the repair man said the refrigerator portion of it may last 2 days or 2 weeks. This is totally unacceptable. About 4 years ago, I bought a top of the line Kitchen Aid dishwasher. I paid nearly $1,000 for it. I figured if I bought the best, that I wouldnt need to replace it for many years, since my aunt had 20 year old Kitchen Aid appliances, and they still worked like new. Everything was fine for a few months, then I noticed that its not as quiet as it was. Then if I didnt thoroughly rinse my dishes off, to the point of pre-washing them, there would be stuck food that was nearly impossible to remove. After doing the thorough pre-rinsing things, were fine for a while. The noise got louder. It got to the point that we would only run it a night, because of the noise. We looked into our warranty, and it had just expired, and knew that we couldnt do much about it. About a week ago, the noise was so bad that we honestly thought it would explode. We didnt touch it for a few days, for fear of explosion. Last night, we thought to run it through with a light cycle. We could hear the water filling, but after that, we couldnt hear anything. It sounded like it wanted to work, but it was stuck. We turned it off, and now its a glorified dish rack. Im replacing all my Kitchen Aid appliances with LG, because I know it wont fall apart.

Purchased all new appliance for our renovated Kitchen in May of 2017. They were installed towards the end of June, and we started having issues with the refrigerator within months. This is Model KRFF305ESS00, French doors, with water dispenser inside on the left-hand side. Once you fill a glass with water, the water dispenser doesn’t shut off properly and continues to drip... not one or two drips... but constantly. I phoned and the first serviceman they sent out told me that there was nothing wrong with it, and that is just the way it is. I called back, they sent another service guy out who said “that’s not right, but I’m not really sure what’s going to fix it, but I will order a new water tank and tube and see if that does the trick. I will also order a new air damper because it seems to be grinding and it shouldn’t be”.Two weeks later he returned with the parts, installed them, and it worked better for about a month. Now it’s still dripping, and the noise it makes sounds like it’s going to take off. I just called with warranty department, and there is no more coverage. It will cost $139 plus tax just to have someone come out and then more money for whatever parts they want to try next, that likely won’t work. My husband says “take it to the dump, it’s a piece of $3,000 garbage”!!! We will be shopping for another refrigerator... and it won’t be KitchenAid. How do these people stay in business??? Oh... Our refrigerator has a documented design flaw and they refuse to replace it. Their solution is to have someone come to our house and completely strip the inside out so we are left with a metal box. Then, the person is going to build one out of all new parts. I will have a frankenstein that will not be inspected by anyone, no quality control, and no idea if its being done properly. Extremely disappointed that our Kitchenaid microwave magnetron has failed after only 2.5 years and requires $325 to repair (65% of the purchase price new). We have never put metal in the unit, which, after researching, appears to be the only possible operator cause of failure, meaning a part that is reportedly supposed to last 22 years is clearly defective from the factory. Service staff on the phone have been quite kind and sympathetic, but unable to help. They encouraged me to email the company directly, which I have done with the above verbiage, requesting explanation of their policy to not cover this under warranty, especially after seeing so many other people complain of the same issue. The company has not responded. The service tech who diagnosed says hes seeing this more and more, as the appliances are being built less and less robustly.

I purchased new KA 5 burner gas range, French Door Refrigerator and Dishwasher in 2013. All stainless steel appliances. Did this purchased as I owned Whirlpool or Kitchen Aid appliances all my life. (Yes, Im over 60). The new appliances are just scrap. It took 4 refrigerators to get one that either wasnt damaged or the compressor was not froze up upon delivery. 4th one, door didnt close right upon delivery. We will take it back and get you a different one. NO! Im not waiting another 10 days for a new one. Youll fix this one. 5 days later they arrived with part. Good thing its under warranty guy says. They dont make a hinge. You replace the entire door for $500. Im thinking exactly what did I purchase here. Then I went to self-clean the oven. It had 2 spots where some cheese dripped off a pizza. Clean it off with damp cloth. Wiped it down with dry towel. Started clean cycle. When it was completed, the oven finish was either pitted or gone. I called KA. Response was, if you put foil on oven floor, that will happen. First off, I dont use foil on oven floor. Second, if I did, I wouldnt need to self clean the oven! DUH! They told me to call a servicer in the area. He says yep, some of them do that, the new floor panel is $67+. (I dont remember how many cents). So I called KA again. So I need to pay for this? Yes sir. But its only 2 months old. Its not covered sir. Listen, Im over 60 yrs old. I have owned Whirlpool/ KA forever. Never saw an oven do this. If it is that unreliable of a coating, just what chemical is it putting into our food? What happened to good quality porcelain? I dont know sir. I wrote Whirlpool an email. Explained this whole thing to them. Never did get a reply.I guess when a corporation does sales of $20 billion a year, you dont care about your customers or the product you turn out. At this point they are selling scrap on a reputation they used to have. Problem is, selling scrap products on a great reputation, catches up. With all the companies produced under the Whirlpool name, you need to research, and go to another separate, independent company from Whirlpool. I will never buy KA again, or Whirlpool. Their customer service just is bad. Nothing like it used to be.

This shiny, expensive bells n whistles model replaced a new and very similar Whirlpool which lasted only 6 days before dropping dead. Repair parts were several days away and we were w/o a reefer. Retailer (Lowe’s) very kindly stepped in and arranged this replacement which was actually a slight upgrade and delivered it the very next day. Looked great until the next morning when it seemed that ice maker wasnt working correctly. Within a day and a half the ice maker required service. It was leaking and freezing all over inside the door and top of reefer interior. This resulted in two service visits before a heater kit had to be installed (factory told repair tech it should have been installed at factory). Following this, continued leaks until new seals were installed. Now, 10 1/2 months later freezer quits. Service tech comes, advises this acts exactly like a service flash they received. Performs a number of diagnostic tests and calls KitchenAid as the service bulletin does not offer any fix only says to call for special instructions. Those special instructions were to give me a case number and Customer Assist telephone number. He was told by KA there was nothing he could do - that the matter was being submitted for review and disposition. Meanwhile no freezer and water gushing forth onto kitchen floor from dead freezer/ice maker. I call the number provided and am told that the team would be reviewing the matter and it could take five (5) business days for a decision as to whether it would be repaired or replaced. This being totally unacceptable I was referred to a supervisor who told me there was no way to expedite the process. I told her that five days was totally unacceptable for a replacement decision and then comes the kicker... The five days is only for the decision, if approved by the team any replacement will take an additional 10-14 days! In the meantime I have no working freezer and the refrigerator side, while working, is much warmer than optimal temp settings and compressor is making significant noise. Until this venture we have always had Whirlpool/KitchenAid appliances for 42+ years of marriage save for a short stint with a GE reefer that wasnt our choice. TEST QUESTIONS: Do you think well ever buy anything from KitchenAid/Whirlpool again? (Oh, and did I mention this year we plan to upgrade range, microwave and dishwasher?) Is it any wonder foreign appliances are flooding the market in a country where Made in the U.S.A. once meant quality, longevity and outstanding customer service?

My KitchenAid dishwasher has delivered 15 years of good, loyal service without any hiccups and I am grateful for this service. I would buy another kitchenaid dishwasher if and when my current one dies. It cleans pretty well, especially the bottom level and it is fairly quiet although I know more recent models are much quieter.

We remodeled our kitchen 9 years ago. We put in all KitchenAid appliances. Dishwasher, microwave, gas range and fridge. I have never been more disappointed with a company in my life. This week after numerous service calls we replaced the dishwasher with a Maytag. Your dishwasher did not clean dishes from day one. We suffered for 9 years. The paint and I stress PAINT on the stainless steel microwave wore off the handle after a year. The range has needed the control panel replaced 4 times. The off button fails every 2 years. The ice maker has been replaced 4 times. The last time the tech told us we had the freezer set too cold. Can you imagine? A freezer, too cold? There were many other service issues that I will not mention because I consider them normal wear and tear. These totaled about $1000 over 9 years, which I think is acceptable. The cost for the unacceptable repairs is in excess of $3500.

KitchenAid refrigerator model #Ksf26c - We purchased our refrigerator less than a year ago and already have dents and scratches on the metal trim of the humidity control drawer and meat drawer. The quality of the metal trim is substandard. I called the parts department at KitchenAid and they will not replace the defective drawers because it is cosmetic. I would definitely recommend not purchasing this refrigerator.

I bought a stainless steel KitchenAid dishwasher 3 years ago and have had nothing but trouble. It has been repaired 4 times for the door popping open during a dishwashing cycle. Now the insulation has fallen out of the door and leaks a constant stream of water on the floor. The repair has been scheduled for a week from when I reported it. Nice sense of urgency and customer centric company. I wouldn’t buy a kitchenaid appliance.

It takes longer to run a cycle and has lower pressure than my previous Inglis model. Items on the top shelf sometimes are not thoroughly cleaned. Saniclean and pro scrub need to be activated to get a thorough cleaning. Normal wash is not adequate. Deep tub, and it has 3 racks, so lots of room to place items. Wish the third rack had an impeller to clean items in it. Stainless steel front with controls on the top of the door hidden. Very nice packaging. Take extended warranty, run the cleaner through once every couple of months to get rid of the scum build up. Clean the internal filter every couple of months also. The Steam venting port damages your wooden cabinets next to the dishwasher. I had to put a plastic liner on the inside of the cabinet (facing the dishwasher) to stop the moisture from damaging the cabinet.

Built a new home and moved in last year. Just pay the year mark our new KitchenAid refrigerator went out. We are now on week 5 and nobody knows when the parts will be in. We have been without a refrigerator for 5 weeks, KitchenAid and their diamond factory service could care less about how long we wait. Go with anyone else’s fridge, stay away unless you don’t need a refrigerator then go with KitchenAid. You won’t be disappointed.

Water backs up into the dishwasher and sits at the bottom - stinks - have to turn on the dishwasher to drain in order to get rid of the sitting water. Have seen mosquitoes try and set up shop there.
