Bought our KitchenAid spring 2016. November 2016, I noticed our cupboards next to the dishwasher are ruined because someone at KitchenAid had a brilliant idea of doing a side steam vent instead of a front vent. Clearly the product designer at KitchenAid has never used their own product... or they just dont care about the consumers buying a poorly designed product.

The dishwasher has clean and simple design lines. Before this dishwasher I would have the TV volume up very high. I don’t have to do that anymore. I don’t have to pre treat my dishes or pre rinse. The clean dishes looks like I have done them by hand.

We remodeled our Kitchen and we bought a new oven, microwave, dishwasher, warmer all KitchenAid appliances. First time we heated up the oven to 350 degrees, it heated up to over 500 degree and burnt the bottom of the oven. The temperature settings are very off and wrong, everything we cook we have to use set it very low to get it to cook properly. Dishwasher does not clean correctly and it was leaking, they did come in and adjust it. It kind of works now. The Microwave has been repaired twice in the first year, and this model cost $1000. The warmer works fine.I will never buy anything KitchenAid ever again. We have had nothing but 3 years of issues, and the customer service repair guy did not have a clue on how to fix any of these appliances so he just keeps ordering parts and wasting our time for this $1000 microwave. Really disappointed in KitchenAid. They are the worst and most terrible customer service team. They never offered to replace any of the appliances and when we unpacked the microwave it had a ding in the front of it.

DO NOT buy this dishwasher Architect Series. Had two service calls in year one. Warranty expired and problems began. We replace the control panel about every three-four weeks now. The lights fade and controls cease working; therefore, dishwasher wont function. I dont think its a lemon. Looks like from the reviews here, they are all terrible appliances. NEVER AGAIN KITCHENAID!

I contacted KitchenAid customer support during January 2012. I had bought a KitchenAid Microwave KHHC2090SWH in February 2011. It had suddenly decided out of the blue to stop working. I had contacted a repair technician and they agreed to pay for his visit. It is now March 14, and after 4 visits, the technician has been unable to fix the problem. He has now removed it from my home and even though I have had to contend with the absence of a microwave for almost 2 months, left me nothing to use in the meantime and no promise that it will be fixed only the confirmation that the company will almost never replace a defective product.I am so sorry that I decided on a KitchenAid and I will certainly let everyone and sundry know about my problems with the KitchenAid Microwave. I am at a loss as to what to do next. It seems like I am just trying to fly against the wind.

Bought a Kitchen Aid stainless steel, counter depth, side by side refrigerator seven years ago. Evidently, this is the max years I could get. The refrigerator is sitting in our front room needing a control board part 2307037 since October. We keep getting the run around pushing the back order date further and further into the future. We will probably end up getting a new refrigerator, and I guarantee you it will not be a Whirlpool or any other product that they make. They are very deceptive. The refrigerator has panels exactly like my cabinets and it looks immaculate. I am so disappointed in this company. I will NEVER consider this manufacturer again.

Our KitchenAid oven stopped working after we used the self-cleaning feature
Our KitchenAid oven stopped working after we used the self-cleaning feature for the first time last month. When we tried to use the oven to bake again, the oven would not heat up. We purchased our KitchenAid wall oven, model KEBC147VSS00, serial No. XW5000833 in January of 2009. We called KitchenAid customer service concerning the problem with our built-in wall oven. KitchenAid offered to sell us a one year extended warranty on our oven for $300. That would be in addition to the charge we would pay to have the oven repaired this time, which we estimate to be over $200. They did not have an answer to our question, How has the faulty KitchenAid oven part or parts been improved so as to not malfunction again and cause our oven to be inoperable each time we use the self-cleaning feature? We do not want to have a repair done that may not really fix the problem. We called Consumer Reports. They recommended that we call the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). We will file a complaint with CPCS. In our opinion, this oven should be recalled by KitchenAid.

I purchased a KitchenAid French Door Bottom Freezer unit from Ferguson Enterprises. The unit was installed yesterday. I was cleaning it to prepared to load it from my old refrigerator only to find that the bottom freezer drawer cannot be removed for cleaning and there is no way to get to the bottom floor of the freezer to clean it. I contacted Whirlpool Customer Service to find out how to remove the drawers and after nearly 30 min, the CSR told me that he couldnt find a way to do it. How can KitchenAid (Whirlpool) sell something that cannot be cleaned? I am so angry and frustrated. The young man told me he would file a complaint but that there was nothing else he could do. Terrible design that cost me over $3000.

The food freezes in the back of the fridge as well as in the vegetable drawer no matter where I place the temperature. What a horrible Fridge. It makes me sick to think I paid so much for this. I am so glad I came here to read the reviews as I have a decision to make. I purchased this model Kitchenaid dishwasher which was to be installed today. It didnt work. The installer said it was either the washer motor or the CPU. Im not technically inclined enough to know the difference. He took it back to the store and brought out another one. It didnt work either. The suggestion was made that there was a problem with my power and/or water supply. My Kenmore dishwasher worked for 20 years on those resources.Store tested the machines and found that they were both defective. I was offered the opportunity to have them replace the defective part or get full credit and choose a different dishwasher. My confidence level was very low and it seemed akin to buying a new car, but let us put a new engine in it first. After reading these very helpful reviews, I shall select a different brand of dishwasher. Thank you all.

We had this oven range delivered in early December 2019. By Dec 26, the inside top oven enamel had shattered. After some long phone calls and declined offers of $150 cash back on a $2,000 oven, we were approved for a full replacement. The replacement oven was delivered on January 18, 2020. On February 1st, 2020, the oven enamel shattered again. The oven was used a handful of times, never over 400 degrees F. Enamel could have easily gotten into my food while cooking. Kitchenaid should look out for a lawsuit for knowingly selling defective ranges. Unfortunately we bought a whole line of Kitchenaid appliances because we wanted them all to match in our kitchen. I am requesting a refund and will not be purchasing Kitchenaid.

We have had this dishwasher (KDFE204E) for less than a year. Within five months the dishwasher motor went out. The company was prompt and came out and replaced the motor. However now with the new motor, the dishwasher will not dry anything (not even regular dishes and pot and pans) and leaves soap residue on everything. The dishes seldom get clean, even with the soap residue left behind. I cannot recommend this company/product to anyone. Their newest solution with our appliance being only eight months old... use rinse aid or well be charged for a service call.

Our KitchenAid dishwasher model KUDS40FVSS (purchased in April 2011) stopped working (no water was being sprayed). We called County TV and Appliance (where we bought it) in Stamford, CT to get the name of an authorized service company. We were initially given Mr. Appliance in Connecticut at (203)-966-8151. They did not bother to call back until we made a third attempt. By the time they finally returned our call, we had made an appointment with J.B. Service located in Trumball, CT. They were supposed to arrive on Monday, Nov 19th between 9-12. They did not show up nor did they bother to call to say they would be unable to make the appointment. We rescheduled the repair work for today (Tuesday, Nov 20th) from 2-4 pm. The service technician arrived at around 3 pm but left not fixing the dishwasher saying that the shaft in the motor that grinds the food is broken and had to be replaced at a cost of around $400. The parts have to be ordered and it will take about three days to arrive. This is great. Thanksgiving is in two days and I have a house full of people arriving! What really bothers me is the diagnosis. The motor that grinds the food is bad. The ironic part is that I am one of those people who washes all the food off of my dishes before I put the dishes in the dishwasher. I really use my dishwasher for sanitation purposes only. So how can a motor that is not used for that purpose suddenly go bad? Furthermore, we had to pay $127.62 for the service call despite the fact that the company did not have the parts available. The technician then told us that only a portion of the service call invoice would be applied to the repair. I find it hard to believe that KitchenAid service can be so poor and that the motor can go bad in such a short time when it is not used for the purpose of grinding food!

I purchased a KitchenAid 42 Built-In refrigerator through Western Appliances (located at 1976, W San Carlos Street, San Jose, CA 95128). Within 1 year the right door would pop open after closing. I called Western Appliance first and they said they can’t do anything and I should call KitchenAid directly. I called kitchen-aid and they sent service technician, but it didnt fix the problem. In last 1 year they have sent service technicians almost 6 times and the problem still persists. After paying $8389.31 I am using a duct tape to keep the door closed, otherwise the food will go bad.I would like to get either my money back or product exchanged for a good one. Customer service said that they have sent my compliant to Pex department, but they didn’t give me any assurance on when it would be replaced. For last 1 year I am tired of calling them, getting a service scheduled and then staying home from work for the service technician to come home. They have changed hinges, they have even changed the door, but the door still pops open within seconds after closing. Here are more details on the fridge. So I will start out by saying that I did not read the negative reviews before purchase. This was not my first oven purchase and should have done more homework. The all the positives were so POSITIVE! So, that being said, my oven is about 6 weeks old. Yesterday for the first time, I tried out the self-cleaning feature. It ran well for a few hours then completely went out. Nothing. I tried everything with the power and fuses but nothing. I have been trying to get someone to help me but I cant reach anyone. Sears repair wont touch it. I will call again on Monday to KitchenAid again. But seeing all of these poor reviews it is making me very nervous. I will have to say that this is a piece of junk. The glass on the inside is stained and gross. I will update this complaint again after KitchenAid gets back to me. But this is crazy. If consumer affairs knew about this problem with the fan and cleaning cycle, why is are they allowed to sell this crap? Class action, I want in. Should have never purchased a KitchenAid.

It not only cleans the dishes but it dries them. I was very tired of having to dry the dishes after using my old dishwasher. This one solved that problem. Other than the few dishes with a lip, they all are dry. I also like that it’s so quiet that it does not disturb us while watching TV. Having an open concept floor plan, this can be a problem with some dishwashers. I would highly recommend a KitchenAid dishwasher to everyone.

Wow, did you get the exact same guy I got? Maybe from the Orlando area? Because I got the same lame crap, and I am a former KitchenAid rep. Back when they were built by Hobart till the last year they were purchased by Whirlpool. I warned them that I might just know a little bit about dishwashers, and the guy comes in with a thermometer in his hand. I played dumb, and let him not worry about the 160 degree water going in, which then meant that my water must be too hard, using the wrong soap, and my dog is too big. I let him leave, and then after a thorough internal exam, found the wash arm hub split, causing the arms to hit the manifold in the back (super scrubber thing). All in all a pretty crappy machine. They sent me a wash arm and support, which I replaced. Solved the redeposit problem, but not the horrible soap film. That turns out to be a short fill cycle in the main wash. Sorry sir, but you are three months out of warranty. Even though they knew this unit was causing washability problems from the get-go. Wow. Way different from the company I worked for for 8 years.

I am disgusted with KitchenAid! We purchased a refrigerator and it delivered at the end of March, less than 90 days old. The refrigerator just stopped working and now they are telling us they have no one to service our refrigerator until July 9th. This is 3 weeks away. We are an hour and a half away from Denver. They need to send up someone from Denver or give us a working refrigerator. They want to call us back within 3-5 business days. This company has the worst customer service I have ever seen. Plus we have lost over $300.00 in food product which they take no responsibility for the loss.I am reporting them to Consumer Affairs. I encourage everyone not to purchase any KitchenAid product ever! They could care less about their customers. It needs to be made right! I will message this information to multiple websites and consumer groups. They keep saying information is not available to the customer when asked who is servicing us! They wont give out any phone numbers and say our service provider is on vacation until July 9th! They do not care about the customer!!! Do not ever purchase any KitchenAid product! This company is a farce!

Almost exactly one month past the one year warranty, our KitchenAid Refrigerator/Freezer Model KRSC503ESS is having intermittent freezer issues. Came home from vacation to find water leaking from ice bin because temp inside compartment was well above freezing. Had hoped appliance store would stand behind product but did not/would not and passed it on their contracted repair service. I thought I was upgrading to KitchenAid when spending $2600. Thought I was buying years of satisfied ownership. I was wrong on both accounts. Fortunately (for the time being) the purchase was made through AMEX and we are hoping their warranty extension will see us through this matter. Regardless, I had much higher hopes of quality from KitchenAid.

I purchased a KitchenAid dishwasher, model # KUDC10IXWH4 on August 1, 2013. I have been having difficulty with the machine for the last 6 months. My dishes were coming out dirtier than when I put them into the machine. The machine was not using the soap, it just piled at the bottom. I tried powder soap, liquid soap, and pod soaps with no help. Finally my husband made it so he could watch the washing process. The spray was only going up about 4 inches - not hitting my dishes. No wonder I have problems. We are trying to put in a new motor at $100.00. I have only had this machine for 2 years and I already have to make costly repairs. Very disappointing!!

We purchased KitchenAid KUDS30IVWH3 a year and a half ago from Lowe’s. All new dishwashers have a new connector that hooks the water supply to dishwasher. It simply screws onto a plastic piece. Over time this connector simply came loose. It flooded our kitchen and laundry room which has been three months of restoration - new floors, rebuilt cabinets, etc. And it cost many thousands of dollars for the insurance company. It has been a serious problem. The plumber said these new connectors are not safe and he gets nervous every time he installs one. He said they cannot be refit with a different connector. I am the second person he has had with major flooding in the home due to the new connectors. He said the European dishwashers still have the old brass connectors.

As I write this, my oven is being repaired for the fourth time, for the same problem. Since it is out of warranty, I will be paying for this. When you try to self-clean, it goes for an hour or two, then stops, giving an error code because the plastic, yes plastic, around the latch has melted, and the oven thinks the door is open. The repairman this time told me to never again try to self clean the oven. It will just keep happening! This oven is about 6 years old, but this has been happening since it was just over a year old. Also, even when it did clean in the beginning, the glass door does not actually get clean, particularly the space left between the two panes of glass, again yes, a space left open. I would suggest the designer of this oven be punished by having to use it. Clearly these should have been recalled or replaced by KitchenAid, as they are aware of the problem. But no such luck, at least not that I am aware of.

It is now May, the warranty has expired, and the oven is beeping non-stop at all hours of the night and intermittently throughout the day. When it is experiencing this problem, none of the keys on the keypad work. I thought KitchenAid made a quality product, but this is not the case. I have a Kitchen Aid double oven, which is 2 years old. During the self-cleaning cycle, the glass door exploded, and glass covered the kitchen floor, and was in all vents. Just hours earlier, my 2 year old grandson was playing on the floor in the kitchen. I immediately checked online, to see if anyone had experienced the same thing, and found that I was not the only one. I called Kitchen Aid to see if they would help me with the repair, since I felt it was a safety issue, and Kitchen Aid should stand behind their products. The customer service representative informed me the company felt this was not a safety issue, and that no one had complained about this before. Kitchen Aid is not being honest with the consumers, and should be held accountable. It has been two weeks, and I am still attempting to find someone qualified who can do the repair. Will it take someones child or grandchild, sustaining critical injury, to mandate Kitchen Aid to redesign their oven doors? Is there any redress for the consumer?

Every Kitchen Aid appliance we own has failed. We have had multiple repairs to the refrigerator (compressor failed), dishwasher (door hinges made of cord failed), oven (multiple problems), microwave door, etc. Only after I started blogging all over the internet, did Whirlpool partially compensate us for repairs (that is a very long story). This month, the plastic tabs holding the vent above the microwave broke, and the oven racks rusted when I washed them. The oven self-cleaning cycle doesnt work very well either. I will never, ever, buy a Kitchen Aid product again. I will tell my story everywhere.

Purchased all new KitchenAid appliances for a kitchen remodel. The dishwasher overheated in less than a year. A service repairman from the manufacturer replaced the control panel. It worked fine until it was 2 years old. Then it stopped cleaning. I tried working with my extended warranty at this point. One repairman said it needed spot remover (which I had only recently run out of). I disagreed, as the dishes were greasy with food particles left on them. A 2nd repairman replaced the control panel. Still had dirty dishes. They replaced with new control panel. Still had dirty dishes. Then the pump stopped working and you couldnt turn the dishwasher on or drain the water. At this point I had been without a dishwasher for 2 months & was tired of service calls with no results and hand washing all my dishes. The store where I bought it wouldnt replace the appliance & said it was up to the appliance repair to say it was broken...& couldnt be fixed. The appliance repair said that it was up to KitchenAid customer service to make that decision. Customer service said that the appliance repair had to document that enough repairs had been made that it would be cheaper to replace. The appliance people wouldnt do that. I called back the store, the appliance people & the warranty company & tried to get them to work together... with no resolution & ended up buying a new dishwasher...different brand, of course. I wouldnt leave a bad review for KitchenAid, but this dishwasher cost me $800 and a $2,000 KitchenAid refrigerator purchased at the same time has been leaking since it was a few months old. Ive had it 5 years...still leaks & getting the same run around with the store, Kitchen Aid customer service and the extended warranty. No one will take responsibility for their poor products. I do like their stove top and double oven combo, though.

I purchased a Kitchenaid dishwasher model KUDC031V on 2-15-10 for the price of $535.43. After owning this appliance for over a year and after much frustration, I feel compelled to voice my disappointment with this product. I personally have owned my last 3 Kitchenaid dishwashers and have always felt extremely happy with the product, however this is the worst appliance I have ever owned. I do not expectations from you. Just wanted to let you know how displeased I have been. This product does not clean dishes in the upper rack as well as on the bottom, it also is the noisiest I have ever heard. I will be replacing it with a Bosch, never again to deal with Kitchenaid.

We purchased a new Kitchenaid refrigerator and double oven wall unit when we moved into our new home March of 2010. We have had issues with the ice maker/water dispenser not working. The temperature Not staying cold. The veggie tray LID fell off. Now its dead! The repair man did not have an answer, he made many phone calls and theyve decided its the motherboard, which will cost us $500 and a week to get in. Well then it started working, then it died, right now its cooling. The Ice/water in the door was so gross - from water and ice? Theres no way to take it apart to clean. After months of trying to clean the black mold out of it, I finally found a hand held steam pressure cleaner to clean it. I WANT TO SAY THAT I HAVE A 30 YEAR OLD REFRIGERATOR in my garage thats still working. Its NOT a KITCHENAID! Then theres the double ovens, that are self-cleaning thats a joke. When I lock the oven to clean it, it blows a circuit and we have to call someone to fix it. The last time the guy said I wouldnt use it. Its NEVER worked, and that was the reason I bought it. BUT I have to clean the ovens by hand because the advertised self cleaning was just a lie. At this point I would rather buy a refrigerator that I can rely on. I tell everyone, Do not buy Kitchenaid. They are the worst appliances on the market.

Pretty much everything was covered, ad nauseam, in this blog. New house, new appliances - the repairman was here three times because our $7,000 SXS KitchenAid fridge/freezer (Model: Kss048FTX03) was not cooling. The repairman said the first time he was here that he installed the part that would solve the problem. Well, he will be back in 4-5 days with another part. It seems that the wall between the fridge and the freezer builds up ice that prevents cooling in the refrigerator. At least, that is what I am told. I was also told that he is very frequently called out to repair this issue.I mainly bought this product because we wanted to install custom door overlays to match our cabinets and a large unit. Not a lot is available in Hawaii and we were able to order this from Lowes. We are so sorry we did. Im glad that I purchased extended warranties on all appliances and am real glad that only two of them are KitchenAid! We, too, have lost all our food twice, not to mention the hassle of removing everything together with the thaw out and order process for parts. Should we have a class action here? We shall see. Im glad I found this site. My husband is a litigation lawyer with just such experience, so I may be back in touch with everyone when the next repair fails!

One week after purchasing a new KitchenAid fridge, it began spitting ice all over the floor randomly. We had to put it in vacation mode every time we left the house otherwise we risked wrecking out expensive hardwood floor. After about a month, the part arrived (they replaced the main CPU) it was repaired. That lasted about 4 months then it began randomly puking ice on to the floor again. They sent out another CPU and the front screen and said that would fix it. In the meantime, the ice dispenser stopped working as well as the main freezer compartment. We lost all of the meat in our freezer (roughly $1000 worth). Our fridge has been down for almost 2 months now and now they tell us the fridge has to be gutted. It has a system seal leak which cannot be fixed on site. Our fridge will be sent out for repair and we will be without a fridge for 4-6 weeks. They offered $100 for us to purchase a small fridge to get us by! What a crock. This fridge has been problematic from day one and now after all of the repairs they still cant explain why the fridge continues to discharge ice randomly or how/if it can be fixed! DO NOT BUY A KITCHENAID fridge!

We bought a KitchenAid Dishwasher Model KUDL03IVWH0 in December 2008. It has leaked since the first time we ran it. We were both commuting long distances to work, trying to get moved in after putting our stuff in storage to have all the floors redone, have otherwise busy lives, and agreed my husband would fix it or call to get it fixed. To make a long story short, we put a cup under and forgot about it until after the warranty ran out. The extended warranty is $309.95 for a year, which did not seem worth it since it was a manufacturers defect - we did not want to give them any more money. We are looking online for a way to fix it ourselves, but in any case well never buy a KitchenAid dishwasher again!

I bought a brand new KitchenAid dishwasher less than two years ago and have been extremely unhappy with it! Model #KDTE334DSSO. My 17 year old dishwasher cleaned the dishes better than this one. I used to use environmentally friendly dishwasher soap but had to go to a heavy strength brand now. The plates fall down in the dishwasher (I recommend taking plates and trying them before you purchase any dishwasher) and now I have all of these little rust looking spots all over the front - which naturally is not covered under the extended warranty!! I purchased a microwave oven, model KBMS1454SBL-1. About a year and a half into the product, the dashboard lights went out and stopped working. I went to the KitchenAid website and filled out their contact form in which they referenced I visit their service page. I filled everything out in on the service page. On that page it indicates the following: If your appliance is not under warranty or covered by a service contract, then the charge for the technician to come to your home will cover diagnosing the problem with the appliance, and a written estimate for the repair. To me that is vague. Does that mean that once the technician will do the repair, then I will be charged? Oh and also how much will I be charged? Well here is what happened. On March 23rd, 2013 I waited all day at home (wasting my time) waiting for this technician to come out. A representative from a company called A&E Factory Service came, looked at my unit and said, Oh, the dashboard doesnt work. It will cost $250 to replace it. I said, That is too much. Dont worry about it. I can order the part myself and do it myself as well. But it does not end here. He explained that now I have to pay him $129 for his service. I exclaimed why. He said, Well, that is what it costs! I was shocked. At no point did KitchenAid or A&E inform me of the cost for this service.April 26th I finally have time to call A&E and tell them I want a refund because no one at any point asked me if I wanted a service for $129. They explained that they would not give me a refund. I spent about 40 minutes on the phone with them and another 40 with KitchenAid, each blaming each other or saying that I should have assumed that it would not be free. But if KitchenAid does not state the cost and the contractor A&E doesnt explain how much prior to, how is that a fair practice? My service order number with A&E is **.I will never buy a KitchenAid product again. A&E explained that it does happen sometimes and that I should ask the KitchenAid management to do a conference call with A&E to get a refund. I called Kitchen Aid and they dont even consider the idea. They just say, Its not our problem. Your product is out of warranty so its not our problem. What a joke. A company that truly can give a rats ** about its products or customers! If I had wanted someone local to fix my problem like A&E and called them myself instead of doing the service through KitchenAid, A&E explained that they would have informed me prior to coming out. But because I did it through KitchenAid, then its not their problem. They are only supposed to show up, diagnose, collect money and then leave. Nice little partnership they got going! Screw the little guy, then waste his time and then try to overcharge for a part. Unbelievable! Never again! I will stick to brands that actually go out of their way and help their customers, whether a product is in warranty or not! Never again!

A repair man was sent. Upon looking at the oven, he called KitchenAid and told them that the oven was not only chipped in many areas, but that those areas were beginning to rust. KitchenAid would do nothing, stating it was a cosmetic problem. Same with the warranty company. After further research, I have discovered I am not the only one with this complaint. At that time, I should have insisted they replace the dishwasher because it is an absolute piece of junk. Two and a half years later, the plastic pieces that hold the upper basket have broken for the third time. I called KitchenAid and spoke to a manager. They offered to pay for the parts but I would have to pay for the service call and labor. I told them forget it since the pieces can only cost pennies. What government agency forces manufacturers to recall faulty items? Obviously from the amount of complaints online and the numerous complaints to which the service company responds to, this is an ongoing problem that KitchenAid has failed to address. Our KitchenAid dishwasher is about 5 years old. I just loved it for the first two years, and then it never seemed to clean the dishes. So I rinsed them before putting them in the dishwasher; then, it didnt even remove the soap. I washed them and then put them in the dishwasher to rinse them. About a month ago, it started to run on its own. It was just the top drawer. I could not shut it off. Now, both drawers will not stop running. I consider this a fire hazard, and this dishwasher should be recalled before someone dies in a fire. My husband is totally disabled and is scared to be in the house in case the thing catches fire. Presently, I cannot afford to replace it. So we have to put up with two drawers full of water, which is beginning to smell. I add a little bleach every day. While at my parents house they described a plastic odor from their Kitchen Aid Convection oven when the oven is used (all electric). I turned the power off inspected the connections on the outlet for the oven and also the connections to the oven itself. All are tight and no signs of heating up etc. I plugged everything back in and we turned it on, nothing at first but after about 3-5 minutes you could smell an odor from the upper portion of the unit. Again turned everything off, opened up the back panel and there it was, the oven control board had a larger connector which feeds power to the oven elements and it was melted to the board. I removed the board for replacement. A local company near us (Servall) had a heck of a time finding this part and the connector as well, the board is manufactured by Eletrolux but is in the Kitchen Aid. As of now, the cooktop just works but no displays since the oven control board also controls the displays. I am a master electrician with in-depth knowledge of controls, there has to be something wrong with the board from Electrolux which has been causing all the headaches for all these customers. I am not sure if the self cleaning function has been used but will recommend that it not be used unless someone is there and they want a possible fire. What a shame and shame on Kitchen Aid for not doing something for all these people who have paid in excess of $1000.00 for a heater. Buy another brand and let other know about it as well, Electrolux is a large company or brand that is well known in Europe for its quality, too bad Kitchen Aid botched this one up. Someone needs to step up to the plate make it right before someone gets hurt. You can fix a house but not a life.

I am writing on behalf of my parents who have had nothing but problems with their refrigerator from day 1. The model No. is KSC23C8EYY00, serial no. HR14140633. The refrigerator was purchased 2/24/2012. From the very beginning the doors have not been aligned. We have had service people in and out adjusting the doors for the past almost 4 years on 2/24/16. Water leaks on bottom of refrigerator due to the doors not closing properly and fruit flies continuously coming in and end up dead and accumulating at the bottom of the refrigerator. Your service representatives have been here for the past four years trying to resolve this problem and nobody seems to know what theyre doing as we end up with the same problem, having to call you again. We have a folder with all the service calls. From day one we have dealt with this problem. After several calls the first year and your techs not able to repair the problem, the constant annoyance of the door light on due to doors not closing properly, my mom asked your tech to take the refrigerator back at which time he informed her it was too late. I live in Texas and was made aware that your technician advised her it was too late. I made the very first call shortly after it was delivered. Here it is four years later and I cannot believe it has not been resolved. A technician was scheduled to come by last week and we were informed he was in auto accident. A week has gone by and no one has called to reschedule. I just called and someone will be by tomorrow. I spoke with your representative, Erb, who was very helpful. He is sending someone tomorrow. The refrigerator has water right now with flies laying dead in water. My mom was going to clean it up as she has for the past four years. I told her to leave it alone so that your tech can see whats going on. The last tech about 4 weeks ago said he fixed it. Obviously not as you have not been able to from day 1. This is pathetic that my almost 90-year-old parents have to deal with this. At this point, we are requesting a replacement. My parents bought an expensive refrigerator which has turned out to be a nightmare. If you check your records you will see how many times you have been out for the same problem. I am attaching a receipt of purchased product. A response as to considering a replacement is greatly appreciated.

Purchased our Double Oven July 29/11 from a local appliance shop (Herbs Appliances), authorized dealer for kitchen aid. From day one it did not work properly, convection fan made noise, in all fairness Herbs came back and fixed that. Then the electronics board failed. Had to turn breaker off and on, to reset it constantly. Well, now Herbs Appliances was not so eager to return and did not return at all. Excuse after excuse why he could not come. Then the upper oven failed totally. Called Kitchen Aid said it was no longer under warranty. Absolute nightmare from Retailer to manufacturer. To add insult to injury, we purchase a new cook top from Ikea. Nutid Induction cook top. It lasted 6 months, half the burners failed. To my surprise it was another kitchen aid product. To nobody else fault but my own, I have misplaced the receipt. No warranty. Big Box to supporting your local retailer, dont buy Kitchen Aid.

Control lights failure when buttons are pushed - This has happened repeatedly, and is expensive to have out-of-warranty repairs made. Also KitchenAid/Whirlpool uses third party service technicians, which in my case proved to be incompetent and actually broke other parts of my dishwasher. Kitchen Aid refuses to stand by their recommended third party service organization (whom they have since fired) and allows them to sell the customer (me) an extended warranty which both the since-fired service organization (A&E Factory Service) and KitchenAid refuse to honor.

Each time I bake, I notice the bottom layer of the food is not baking, even after an hour in the oven. If I attempt pizza, the top is cooked. However, the dough underneath is raw pans. I am very frustrated. I bake daily and am wasting a lot of food. We have tried everything theyve told us to do, but yet still the top layer is being dried out and the bottom remains raw. Does anyone else have the same problem or had it resolved?

KitchenAid Model No. KDRP467K 36 Architect Series Dual-Fuel Range. The rotary control was set to bake at 350 degrees F. At 12:30PM, I placed oatmeal cookies on a cookie sheet (metal) into the oven preheated at 350 degrees F. At 12:37PM, the oven began to smoke. We checked the setting and temperature, attempting to open the oven door. It was locked and the oven was apparently in the clean mode although the controls were clearly not set to clean. I shut the power to the range off at the breaker panel. The range took two hours to cool. We have never used the self-cleaning feature.

First year microwave breaks, not getting anything hot. Have to pay for service call two weeks past warranty. Kitchenaid paid for parts not service call. Four months later, same problem, I have to pay again for service call and labor, not sure about parts. I’ve decided to never buy Kitchenaid or its other companies Whirlpool etc.. I have a total Kitchenaid kitchen, never again, bought a Samsung. It takes a long time to build trust and respect, it doesn’t take long to lose it. Good luck Kitchenaid.

I purchased my KitchenAid Architect Series appliances in June of 2013, from Harrys Discounts Appliance. Unfortunately, dealing with this issue is the biggest headache I ever had. On delivery, the stove looked like it was dropped from the top of a building. The driver said, Please keep it and we will give you a great discount. I informed the driver to return the range and deliver a stove to me with no damage. We examined all the other appliances and they appeared to be undamaged. At the time, my house was under construction and we were not able to have the appliances installed until the contractor put up walls and re-built the kitchen. Upon installation, we didnt realize the Microwave was damaged. Once installed, the light, exhaust fan, timer and clock all were working, so we would assume that the microwave was functioning. However the microwave does not power on. I called KitchenAid for service. At first, they refused to take the call because it was over 30 days. I then called again, and they sent Dan Marc Appliance Repair Company to service the microwave. As per the repairman, parts needed to be ordered. When they returned, a new door was installed and the technician heated a bottle for 10 seconds and it did work. That was the first and last time the microwave functioned properly. After the one time use, I was cleaning the inside of the microwave and I cut my finger on separated metal. I called KitchenAid again; I was told to unplug the unit and they would send service repair, once again. When the repair technician came, he took pictures of the microwave and called KitchenAid. When I followed up I was told that they were going to send A& E Appliance Repair. On the day of service, A&E called and said unless we pay for the service call, they will not be able to repair the Microwave, which I refused to pay.I called KitchenAid again and based on the pictures and information that the repair tech took, I was told that it was determined the microwave could not be repaired and that it would be replaced. They also stated I would receive a follow-up call in 5 days, and no one contacted me. I called again only to be told that it was more than 30 days and it was damaged and would not be replaced.Let move on to the Refrigerator. This required repair service to address this issue four times with over a dozen customer service calls. The refrigerator has an ice buildup issue in the freezer and water lies on the freezer drawer. Due to this, we were not able to open the freezer door at all. I then called KitchenAid and they sent a service repair technician for this issue. After the repair was supposedly complete, I opened the refrigerator to find water & ice cycles hanging from the top of the refrigerator. After one of the repairs, I called to tell them about the water in the Refrigerator. Customer Service transferred me to a special department that was handling this issue. I was informed that KitchenAid has been aware of the problem and parts need to be designed to correct the problem. Apparently, KitchenAid is aware about this issue even before these appliances were sold. Meaning, Kitchen Aid knowingly sells faulty products to consumers. So when the parts were ready for installation I would receive a call. I was told to keep a towel handy to wipe up the water. This is absolutely unacceptable. For one of Kitchen Aids newest line of appliances I shouldnt have to keep a towel handy for anything, especially brand new products. The refrigerator has had repair visits on August 12, 26, September 16, 30, October 12. I called again for service on October 15, 2013 and I have not heard from the repair company. Unfortunately, I am still having the same problem. As for the stove, the grates on the range top are turning gray, the burns, caps & top are not able to come clean. Once again KitchenAid will not do anything because the product is more than 30 days old. The appliances I threw away that were 20 years old functioned better and were more reliable than these new Kitchen Aid appliances.I am incredibly frustrated at this entire process and have been dealing this issue for over two and half months. For a brand new line of appliances from what supposedly is a trustworthy company I have spent countless hours on the phone with customer service and days waiting for repair technicians to fix my appliances. Yet, nothing is functioning properly.I have spent over $4000 of my hard-earned money and waited over 25 years to re-do my kitchen and all I truly want is appliances that are reliable and function correctly. I am hoping that someone can help me; all I want is what I pay for working appliances. Please dont hesitate to contact me if you need any additional information. Thanking you in advance.

Cool, no problem, well just order a new one and get it fixed. That was last October 2016. Flash forward to March 2017, they sent the incorrect part 3 times. Now they say they dont make the part anymore. Their solution?? Buy a new $8000 fridge from them... Oh, but well give you a small discount. What a joke. Model # KUDS03STSS3 - stainless inside and out is a piece of **! I purchased it on March 2009, as of this weekend (when it went down again), I have had six service calls! So many that they extended the warranty (or so they said) - voila - no extended warranty and the pos is down again! I now need to pay to service this lemon because Whirlpool (parent co) would not classify as a lemon and replace. This is the very last time I purchase this brand. The customer service people had done nothing but apologized for the inconvenience. They could care less that you are taking multiple days of off to wait for service that should never be in the first place. I have filed a complaint with the NJ Consumer Protection and have asked for compensation for the cost of the dishwasher, and time taken off from work. I will post consequences when finished - but I am finished!

Hi. Purchased model number KH HC 2090 SSS - 3 n 2011 along with all the other kitchen appliances. We have been very happy with this powerful and feature packed microwave up until a few weeks ago. It began beeping and the touchpad but display all kinds of different functions. The microwave still worked so we continue to use it until my wife informed me that it had actually turned itself on and started cooking by itself. Unplug the unit and promptly called KitchenAid. Their customer service was great and even though the unit is 3 years out of warranty they offered to fix it free. We will see how the repair goes but so far I am very happy with their product and service.

Had purchased a KitchenAid refrigerator new in September 2013. On January 3 the refrigerator broke AND WAS LEFT WITH NO REFRIGERATION. Being under warranty KitchenAid sent out their service repair service. On January 8, the service repair came and said they had to order a part. On January 14, service came back, installed part and that was not problem, had to order another another part. January 22 came, installed part, didnt work, said had to order another part. January 29 returned installed another part, still didnt work, said that new part installed was defective, had to order another part. On January 30, I called KitchenAid and stated that I wanted a different repair person and they would not do so because their repair service are qualified technicians. January 31, installed yet another part, didnt work and said it was unserviceable and wouldnt come back and refrigerator had to be replaced. KitchenAid said they would not replace but wanted to get another opinion. February 6, 2nd company came out and wanted to order more parts. In the meantime, we have Four children and have been LEFT WITHOUT A REFRIGERATOR for excessive amount of time. Never seen service like this before. Please help because in the middle of all this more than several phone calls transpired and its obvious that no one at KitchenAid could care less that a family is left without a refrigerator.

Bought all new matching stainless steel KitchenAid appliances (dishwasher, stove, refrigerator, microwave/convection oven) about one year ago and have been very disappointed with the lack of quality and performance in the stove and refrigerator from the start. Thought KitchenAid was a top brand but obviously not any longer. The pieces look sharp in the showroom but buyer beware! The stove - glass top scratches easily, requires extensive cleaning/buffing after every use, the self cleaning oven feature really does not work at all, takes forever to preheat the oven. The refrigerator - cheaply made vegetable bins that fall apart (front panel comes off), water filter needs to be replaced almost monthly. The dishwasher is the only appliance I have no major complaints for. Very quiet and does a good job on plates, glasses, and silverware (wash pots by hand). I regret not updating the GE Profile appliances I replaced with this purchase.

The company sent me Dan Marc repair service in Fairfield NJ. Im still without a refrigerator, its 4 weeks now and Im living out of a cooler on my back porch also hundreds of $ of food lost. KitchenAid keeps saying sorry to hear that but that doesnt get me a working Frig!!! So Im stuck with a $2600 piece of junk. Its a nightmare!! Ive had much cheaper appliances that have worked for years. Shame on you KitchenAid and shame on you Dan Marc, worst service. They didnt show up for appointments 3 times and dont even call!! This will be the 2nd time that I have had to call a repairman out to replace the thermostat in my Superba wall oven. Like so many other complaints Ive seen posted, there is something wrong if you cannot use the self clean function of your self-cleaning oven. To pay this kind of price (over $3,000) for a convection oven/microwave combo is a lot and you would expect a better product. First off, you pay extra for a self cleaning function but if you cant ever use it without it disabling your entire oven, then whats the point? So far on my oven combo unit, I have had to replace the glass in the door panel of the microwave, the glass in the door panel of my oven (no they were never hit by anything) and am now replacing my thermostat for the second time all because I wanted to use an option that I paid for: a self-cleaning option. Never again will I buy a product from KitchenAid or one of their related subsidiaries.

I bought this expensive piece of crap in November 2017 and it hasn’t worked since day one! I have repeatedly called the 800 number with no satisfaction. The first time it took them 6 months to get the part they said was not working and when they finally showed up yesterday May 25 it only worked a few hours and died again. I called service again and they refuse to give me a new refrigerator and couldn’t come out today to fix it even though I have once again lost everything in my refrigerator. The person named Pat on their service line refused to transfer me to someone with any decision making authority and refused to do anything more than schedule service again. I will never ever buy KitchenAid again and believe me the world is going to hear about this. My wife and I bought a KitchenAid Dishwasher, Model KDTE334DSS, just about two years ago. The top rack on this appliance is the biggest piece of GARBAGE Ive ever seen in an appliance, and has been falling apart since we bought it, and paid close to $1000 with installation and delivery. The entire rack system is supported by chintzy/cheap plastic parts that constantly break. Now the control panel is not working so we cant run it. The repairman tells us the part is $250, without installation, BUT IS ON BACK ORDER WITH NO DATE LISTED FOR AVAILABILITY. To make matters worse, I call KitchenAid and the arrogant response I get is theres nothing we can do to help you, and when I ask why a part for a two year old appliance is on back order, and if theres a problem, Im told its because its a popular dishwasher.I ask to speak to a supervisor and Im told sure but then get hung up on. KitchenAid products are clearly GARBAGE and KitchenAid employees will treat you like GARBAGE. Reminds me how the US auto industry lost so much consumer confidence. I will NEVER buy any other KitchenAid product and wouldnt shed a tear if they went out of business...

We purchased a combination oven & microwave/convection oven in 2008, the microwave recently began to not heat food and drinks. We notified KitchenAid and were referred to a local repair who diagnosed the problem and said it would require a new magnetron and control board, with labor the cost would be $650+, we decided the cost of the repair was much less than a new oven and microwave and committed to the repair. Repair was made, microwave now functions/heats food and drinks at a fraction of the previous level. Had repairman return today to diagnose and repair again. He proceeded to do test as dictated by KitchenAids factory tech on the phone with him, fill vessel with 10oz. of water, check temperature, heat for 30 seconds and check again. The difference was +20 degrees hotter which is the lowest level of their benchmark for acceptable being acceptable.Bottom line is it still doesnt heat as it did before the $650+ repair. I then spoke with rep at Kitchenaid for an hour expressing my displeasure and asking for help, their answer’s sorry but its a 10-11 year old appliance and they dont perform as well when theyre that old is the final word from them. My question to her was why didnt anyone mention that before we committed to the repair, she was silent on that. Sooo, I will not advocate KitchenAid as a quality product again much less purchase another of their appliances. I will advise others to look elsewhere when shopping for appliances! I have also filed a dispute with my credit card company in an effort to recover some of the cost we incurred.

Re: The factory in Japan was wiped out by the tsunami and the nuclear power
Re: The factory in Japan was wiped out by the tsunami and the nuclear power plant meltdown complicated it. Kitchenaid (Whirlpool) are telling hundreds of consumers they cannot provide a critical component -- main control board -- necessary to repair a frequent problem with their refrigerators. In my case we have a 42 built in, side-by-side, panel ready unit KSSO 42QMB02 purchased in 2007. The panel ready descriptor simply means we had it fitted with the same wood paneling we used for our cupboards. The board is failing and its causing the unit to freeze up with loud fan noises accompanied by disturbing clunks and thuds. Its a matter of minutes or hours or days before it fails entirely. This is a problem reported by others on this site. Worth mentioning is that this is a top of the line refrigerator/freezer that cost between $5,000 - $6,000 not including the paneling. So heres the terribly sad story KitchenAid is telling customers: They no longer stock the part because the sole source for it, a company in Japan was wiped out by a tsunami and to make matter worse, the meltdown of the Fukishima reactor complicated matters. They told me to have their authorized service provider (B&B - good folks) to just send the board in to be rebuilt. That my refrigerator/freezer would be down for the length of time it took for the board to be repaired. That they offer no service contracts. That if I wanted they would sell me a new unit at a small discount - $6,233 for a new unit. I should add that because this is a panel ready model with our custom panel wood on it, it would be darn tough to match the old stock so there would be at least several hundred dollars more in panel expense as the old panels no longer fit the new model. And this get this, when I called another provider in my hometown - a fellow Ive known for years, he told me that Kitchenaid/Whirlpool has just today (this was on October 5, 2014) posted a service bulletin that they were disassociating from the company, Cocentric, that has been rebuilding the Main Control Boards for hundreds of customers owing to service issues. So the bottom-line is that this expensive and beautiful side by side, built-in, panel ready refrigerator is a boat anchor? Then I found this blog from a very cool, smart and handy fellow, Steve **. In it he describes how pretty easily (if youre handy with a soldering iron and a volt meter that is) you can rebuild the Main Control Board for about $6. He suggest buying a beefier version of one component, a relay, to prevent this from happening ... suggesting a design flaw in this board to me. And he wisely suggests adding an Appliance Surge Protector to prevent spikes from burning the board in the future. This is all beautifully detailed with pictures and part numbers. So heres my take - Whirlpool/Kitchenaid want to sell you a new refrigerator freezer when they could easily set up a process to fix these boards themselves and support their products. It gets worse. If you want to buy a refurbished board you can! For $800 - $1,200 on eBay! WTF! KitchenAids service policies are fostering predatory online vendors. Why will people pay this much for a board that KitchenAid lists for about $235? Because ALL OF US CANT BE WITHOUT A REFRIGERATOR FREEZER FOR 2-3 weeks. This is insane and immoral. California has tough consumer laws. The Song Beverly Act may cover this as in addition to providing relief for people that buy lemons, it also provides for people like us (in California any way) that expect a top shelf product should last longer than a pair of my boxer briefs.
