We bought this fridge in 2013, it looks good and has all the features that we need. We are senior citizens, so, prior to 2013, we had owned a number of fridges and never ever had a problem with any of them. This fridge is different, in 2019 the fridge stopped cooling because of the ice buildup. Repairman removed the ice, but he could not find was was wrong. Since then the fridge has not worked properly. In 2020 we placed another service call with Whirlpool (every service call cost a few $$ ).The tech suspected that there is a problem with a control panel, however he was not sure. He informed us that the repair would be quite expensive and it is not covered by warranty. The fridge is still not working properly - the cooling is on and off and we found an ice buildup under the freezer. By now we have had enough with costly repairs and persistent problems. It is time for a new fridge and we will make sure that it is not KitchenAid or Whirlpool. Stay away from these brands.

I purchased a double convection oven, KitchenAid Model KEBC208KSSo in 2003. I engaged the self cleaning feature last Dec 2011, not for the first time, and this time like everyone else, the door locked, the control panel shut down and $1,800 of repairs followed. I had replaced thermal fuse, fuse assembly, wiring harness, touchpad, control board, etc. Calls to Customer Service are useless: mantra of the oven is 10 yrs old, it is not our problem, repeated over and over. No assistance whatsoever.

My 7 year old KitchenAid dishwasher has quit working. After the first 2 years, I had to purchase the silverware caddy because the PLASTIC in the bottom of the silverware caddy had pieces broken and silverware was falling through. Then about a year later, PLASTIC brackets on the top rack broke. Replaced those. Now, the PLASTIC door is broken where the screw should be, and the touch panel is not working. JUNK! I once had a Maytag that I ran two times a day & never had to replace a single part on it, and it ran for 12 years!

We recently purchased (and promptly returned) a KitchenAid 1.50 cu.Ft Countertop Convection Microwave Oven - Stainless Steel. We have used Micro/Convection Ovens for over 35 years. We purchased this one based on its advertised 1.5 Cu. Ft. Capacity. The capacity of this oven is not even close to that size. Even stretched the measurements only equaled 1.1 Cu.Ft. We are extremely disappointed and not sure how it can be so falsely advertised.

We bought a KitchenAid KUDS30CXWH1 in 2011 and from day 1 it has been the worst lemon appliance we have ever owned. The thermal fuse (protecting the control panel) has failed 9 times! The control panel went 2 times. The top rack collapsed 3 times. Despite the fact that we scrape every dish, we have to rip the guts out of the dishwasher every 4-5 weeks to get at the filter and clean it. Out of self defense we have had to learn to do our own maintenance, which is difficult for senior citizens. Even at that, to date, we have spent 4 times on parts and maintenance, than the machine originally cost. Ive written to the CEO of Whirlpool several times, even sending letters by return receipt requested. The machine is now 7 years old and has been a nightmare for 7 years. We are finally going to dump it. We are NOT replacing it with KItchenAid, Whirlpool or Kenmore (all made by the same manufacturer.) We are not surprised to see, by reading these reviews, that KitchenAid is still putting out trash. What a pity, our previous KitchenAid dishwasher lasted 20 years and was replaced for cosmetic reasons. Something BAD has happened to this company. Shame on Consumer Reports for continuing to rate them highly, but then Consumer Reports does not have to keep them running.

I am having problems with our KitchenAid, KEBC107KWH03, again. The self cleaning feature shuts down the oven. This is our second time with just as many cleanings. It’s the same story from the repairman, Dont use the self cleaning feature”. I sent an email off to KitchenAid tonight. The last time, I too received the same sorry for you loss form letter from KA. This stove is a piece of $1,500 crap! What’s my plan? Thankfully, we have the extended warranty from Sears. If nothing can be worked out, I plan on self cleaning this thing after every service call.

Tonight while eating dinner, the dishwasher just started making a strange noise and steaming like the drying cycle started coming out. We shut off the power to it, but it kept running. Then it started filling and started flooding the kitchen. Prior to this, the door lock started acting up and it has been hard to lock. Previous to that, the soap dispenser stopped working. After 2 years, the racks started breaking and falling apart. Model number KitchenAid KUDP02IR.

Purchased a KitchenAid refrigerator Model #KBFS22EWMS7 in November, 2012 along with a 4 yr extended warranty with a price of $1800. The first week in October 2013, there was a big pool of water on the floor near the refrigerator. Pulled out the fridge thinking a hose had been punctured or a connection was loose. But no, that was not the case. All connections on the back of the fridge were dry. Husband checked more thoroughly and could not find where the leak was coming from. Called the customer service number on the refrigerator user instructions and they set up an appointment with a service person. The service person came out on Friday, Oct. 18, 2013, checked all connections and pulled off panels and checked the back and could not find where the water was leaking. He confirmed there is a leak by seeing all the water on the floor, which looks like had been leaking for a while after seeing the edge of the wall with water damage and mold. But he could not find it and could not tell where it was coming from. So he gave my husband a homework assignment to somehow keep a watch underneath the fridge to determine exactly where the leak is coming from. How about that for customer service!!!! Now after seeing all the similar complaints and issues with KitchenAid, I am so afraid that we are in store for a nightmare of our own!!!! Our current plan is to put some type of rubber mat on the floor underneath the fridge and somehow jack up the fridge a little to be able to see underneath to watch for the leak. This is very frustrating and wish now that I had gone with Maytag!!!!

My husband and I purchased all KitchenAid products for use in a new home we
My husband and I purchased all KitchenAid products for use in a new home we were building in late December 1997. In the first cleaning of the double-wall oven, it locked up; and we had to have the service man from Sears come out and fix it. Since that time, I have had some trouble with the touch pad working and then not working. About 2 weeks ago, I called Sears; and they sent a repair man out to fix this problem. He informed me that the part for my Superba KitchenAid double-wall oven had been discontinued and that I had probably paid $2,700.00 for this oven. Much to my amazement, because we purchased so many kitchen appliances, I had no idea we had paid this price. Nonetheless, he informed me he had other customers whom he had tried to get parts for and gave me very little hope of ever finding the part to repair this oven. So I called KitchenAid and was told it had been discontinued and hopes of finding part number 4451292 was going to be very unlikely. I proceeded to get onto the internet on Ask.com and found a repair site. I did some research and found it has been discontinued and that they dont have any idea of anywhere to get this control pad fixed or purchased. I feel that, after reading all the other complaints on these same malfunctions, there should be some kind of enforcement that KitchenAid or Sears should have warned the public at the time of purchase as to the approximate time you have to get parts for such expensive items. My oven is almost new inside and out. I and my husband (who is now deceased) worked out on the road for many years, and use of this oven was very limited due to us always being gone out on the road. The bottom oven has been used maybe 3 times, and the top oven has not been used hardly at all, compared to my KitchenAid microwave, which we both used all the time.when we were home. My guess would be that it would about compare a thousand or more to one. The touch pad on my microwave is still doing super. After viewing all the complaints on this model number KEBS277DWH1, part number 4451292, and the issues all of us are having with these ovens, I would hope that someone would stand up for us in a class action lawsuit. These products are very expensive, and nobody is helping the consumers on this product problem. Please someone stick up for all of us who need someone who can make this company responsible for such inadequate products. As of today, I have no ovens to cook Easter dinner in, because nobody has a part to repair this. And I am a widow and havent the money ($3,500.00) to buy another one. This is what repair.com wants for another one. Im very dissatisfied and angry with the outcome of all the work and research done and to get nowhere. Help!

I have 10+ yr old KitchenAid Superba double ovens. I was baking cookies at 350 degrees in top oven. I took one tray out after 7 minutes and cookies on top were burnt. Door locked itself before I was able to move other cookie trays around. Smoke in oven and perhaps oven fan not working. We turned the wall breaker on and off several times to restart the electronics, which seemed to indicate fan was working when electricity was on. After an hour of oven smoking, refusing to open and oven message of too hot, flames were seen through the door, like a smoldering fireplace. I ended up calling 911 for oven fire. After trying to open the door and let smoke out, the appliance cooled down apparently while firemen were in the kitchen so that the flames dissipated and door would open. Apparently, the flames were from the cookies igniting.

I have had Kitchenaid (Whirlpool) refrigerators for many years now. The older side by side was efficient but difficult to fit all frozen items in especially Pizza Boxes. So the newer Freezer I have is a Bottom Drawer Freezer, which may seem like a good Idea but is quite the puzzle to use efficiently. Most of the time, items are just stacked and get lost or hidden so you wind up taking more things out just to get to what you want. This type of freezer is not user friendly, but I guess is designed to allow better use of the Refrigerator portion of the unit. One last note, mine do not seal properly and frost built up around the drawer and now Whirlpool needs to replace it, the refrigerator is less than 1 year old and was $4,200.

I had no idea that the quality of the KitchenAid appliances had such a low standard. This is the third time that I am having problem with my dishwasher. Last year, I spent $120.00 on the door hinge and now problem with the dishwasher not working at all. I called KitchenAid and was informed I will either need to spend another $300 to fix the unit, or purchase a one-year warranty and pay $275.00. Unfortunately, I also have a KitchenAid refrigerator that so far I had to spend over $600 in the last 3 years for repairs.Do I need to keep on wasting $500.00 every 6 months with further service calls and parts? Why would KitchenAid make disposable appliances? They will need to disclose to consumer at the time of the purchase that appliances made by Whirlpool and KitchenAid are disposable, and every year we need to replace them with a brand new unit. KitchenAid is responsible for taking care of my dishwasher. I can no longer invest more money on the defected appliances made by Whirlpool and KitchenAid.

Ill try to keep my comment short. We built our house two years ago; and all new Kitchen Aid appliances were bought. I have no complaint with any of them (refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher) except for the range. I have had difficulties on occasion when the oven would not preheat. However, my biggest complaint is with the Aqualift self-cleaning feature. It doesnt work well at all. I dont want to scrape, scrub, reach into the oven to clean. Im getting too old for that. I truly would not recommend this type of range to anyone unless they want a workout cleaning the oven.

This refrigerator is just over 1 year old and it has stopped cooling 5 times. It is a defect that KitchenAid is aware of and they arent doing anything to fix it. They have an internal service bulletin on this issue. They send a repairman out and he replaces a part and 2 months later it stops cooling due to ice build up behind cold cut/vegetable drawer. They continue to make different repairs until your warranty is expired, then you are out of luck. KitchenAid knows they have a bad product. They dont have a permanent solution, yet they continue to sell this model. What kind of company does this? How do they get away with it? AN ATTORNEY NEEDS TO FILE A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT! Maybe that will get KitchenAids attention.

Unfortunately, I am joining a long list of customers who purchased the Kitchen Aid Superba microwave oven/oven built-in combination. After less than 5 years, the bottom oven door locks, without warning or just cause. KitchenAid is aware of this manufacturer defect, but chooses to ignore it, and refuse to resolve this issue. Turning off the circuit breaker should reset the computer, but dont count on it. The other solution you may be given is to turn on the self clean feature, cancel it after 2-3 minutes, and hopefully it will unlock. I am appalled that managers like Kia (ID 8592), has no concern for customers. Kia basically stated that after one year, warranties expire, it becomes the customers problem. The licensed technicians are stumped to fix the problem, but wont tell you until they collect a service call fee. What is even more outrageous is the model and serial number are inside the oven, but when the door is locked, you cannot not see the number. It is a no-brainer to relocate the model and serial number, so it is accessible when the oven locks up, because it will. The bottomline is, a class action lawsuit needs to be filed, and a national recall needs to go into effect. Please send me an email if you want to be included in this lawsuit. Send facts with your complete information to **. This is an obvious manufacturer defect which is a hazard. The oven light will not turn off, and the oven door locks for no apparent reason. I am writing to the president Mark Bitzer and the CEO Jeff Fettig about the issues that should be a concern to them. Others experiencing this problem should write to them at ** Benson, MI 49022.

This shiny, expensive bells n whistles model replaced a new and very simila
This shiny, expensive bells n whistles model replaced a new and very similar Whirlpool which lasted only 6 days before dropping dead. Repair parts were several days away and we were w/o a reefer. Retailer (Lowe’s) very kindly stepped in and arranged this replacement which was actually a slight upgrade and delivered it the very next day. Looked great until the next morning when it seemed that ice maker wasnt working correctly. Within a day and a half the ice maker required service. It was leaking and freezing all over inside the door and top of reefer interior. This resulted in two service visits before a heater kit had to be installed (factory told repair tech it should have been installed at factory). Following this, continued leaks until new seals were installed. Now, 10 1/2 months later freezer quits. Service tech comes, advises this acts exactly like a service flash they received. Performs a number of diagnostic tests and calls KitchenAid as the service bulletin does not offer any fix only says to call for special instructions. Those special instructions were to give me a case number and Customer Assist telephone number. He was told by KA there was nothing he could do - that the matter was being submitted for review and disposition. Meanwhile no freezer and water gushing forth onto kitchen floor from dead freezer/ice maker. I call the number provided and am told that the team would be reviewing the matter and it could take five (5) business days for a decision as to whether it would be repaired or replaced. This being totally unacceptable I was referred to a supervisor who told me there was no way to expedite the process. I told her that five days was totally unacceptable for a replacement decision and then comes the kicker... The five days is only for the decision, if approved by the team any replacement will take an additional 10-14 days! In the meantime I have no working freezer and the refrigerator side, while working, is much warmer than optimal temp settings and compressor is making significant noise. Until this venture we have always had Whirlpool/KitchenAid appliances for 42+ years of marriage save for a short stint with a GE reefer that wasnt our choice. TEST QUESTIONS: Do you think well ever buy anything from KitchenAid/Whirlpool again? (Oh, and did I mention this year we plan to upgrade range, microwave and dishwasher?) Is it any wonder foreign appliances are flooding the market in a country where Made in the U.S.A. once meant quality, longevity and outstanding customer service?

Refrigerator KSSC42QMS - I bought the above mentioned fridge in August 2004 for $5788 plus tax locally. I had remodeled an older house and redid the whole kitchen, bought commercial grade appliances in stainless steel. The fridge was the top of the line in 2004. Right before Christmas 2014 - 10 years later the fridge started to beep. We could tell there was something not working correct. We called the number on the sticker and were referred to an appliance repair shop. They came out and checked it. I paid $75. I was told that the board was going out and we would have to pay around $200 to have it replaced. Then we received a phone call where we were told there are no more parts available. I was totally shocked. I can understand that that kind of fridges are not build anymore; but that you can’t supply replacement parts for a fridge which was $6000, that’s just not right. Thanks to my son Bernhard, who is very handy and computer savvy, I didnt need to buy a new fridge. He checked online and read all the comments about the boards and the fridges, which were built up to 2007. There were different options for him: they offered to get a new board for $1500 which is the biggest joke, you can buy a nice fridge for that money! Or he could pay $20 for directions to repair the board, or just order the parts to fix the board. Since he didnt need the directions, he just ordered the replacement parts for the board. Obviously anybody can order those parts, just not the Kitchenaid Service Department or the Repair company! What a poor service! To make a long story short: my son ordered parts to repair the board for $18. EIGHTEEN DOLLARS!!! And fixed it himself within 5 minutes! I’m very proud to have a son like him! I always thought Kitchenaid was a great major appliance brand, I guess I was totally wrong. I will never buy anything Kitchenaid.

I have a 4 year old Kitchenaid Dishwasher. We spent over $1,000 for it thinking we were investing in a very nice, long lasting machine. After a year, the right clip on the top rack broke and needed to be repaired by a technician. 6 months later the other side broke and we needed another service call. In the last few weeks, all 8 wheels have fallen off the bottom rack. We run the dishwasher about once every three days. I spoke to Kitchenaid customer service this morning via their online chat. The service representative admitted that there were so many complaints about my model that it should have been recalled. She said there was nothing she could do for me. I called and spoke to a customer service representative and their supervisor and they both refused to provide the replacement parts. My model is KUDE 40FXSP3. It is now Dec 22. Still no answer. No one answering a phone and on hold for entire day. After now a month of dealing with this and no one wanting to help I would never buy kitchenaid again. Terrible service, no customer care.

Wow, did you get the exact same guy I got? Maybe from the Orlando area? Because I got the same lame crap, and I am a former KitchenAid rep. Back when they were built by Hobart till the last year they were purchased by Whirlpool. I warned them that I might just know a little bit about dishwashers, and the guy comes in with a thermometer in his hand. I played dumb, and let him not worry about the 160 degree water going in, which then meant that my water must be too hard, using the wrong soap, and my dog is too big. I let him leave, and then after a thorough internal exam, found the wash arm hub split, causing the arms to hit the manifold in the back (super scrubber thing). All in all a pretty crappy machine. They sent me a wash arm and support, which I replaced. Solved the redeposit problem, but not the horrible soap film. That turns out to be a short fill cycle in the main wash. Sorry sir, but you are three months out of warranty. Even though they knew this unit was causing washability problems from the get-go. Wow. Way different from the company I worked for for 8 years.

After looking at various makes and models of ovens online, we purchased/ordered our KitchenAid wall oven (KEBS107) back in August 2012, waiting for over 2 months for the actual delivery of the new oven. Over the next year and a half, we had occasional issues with the oven not heating properly - sometimes it would pre-heat quickly - sometimes it would seem to take a very long time to reach the desired temperature - especially if I was needing to change the temperature during use. After 16 months of use, the thermal fuse had to be replaced. Apparently the oven door has to be closed at ALL times, especially when broiling. Now, after two years of use, the oven is acting up once again and not heating properly. I purchased an oven thermometer to verify this. KitchenAid is going to cover this 2nd repair, even though I was told that my ESP was not currently in effect (which is another frustrating story that I wont go into). I am thinking at this point that there is a major design flaw with this appliance. Having any sort of electronic/module located just over the opening of an appliance that can get very hot was probably not a good idea. If I cant open the door of a hot oven to check on or remove the contents inside, what good is it????? This oven has been nothing but frustrating pretty much since we bought it!

We purchased a dishwasher, microwave, oven and refrigerator from KitchenAid about a year ago and are currently having the refrigerator repaired for the 3rd time for the SAME issue! The fan in the refrigerator (KRFF707ESS01) doesnt work properly which allows ice to form in the back. This means that the drawers dont close anymore and the fan is very loud since it is hitting the ice. KitchenAid customer service has been absolutely useless. Im very disappointed in the product quality and the company and will never purchase a KitchenAid product or any Whirlpool product ever again!

Our KitchenAid oven stopped working after we used the self-cleaning feature
Our KitchenAid oven stopped working after we used the self-cleaning feature for the first time last month. When we tried to use the oven to bake again, the oven would not heat up. We purchased our KitchenAid wall oven, model KEBC147VSS00, serial No. XW5000833 in January of 2009. We called KitchenAid customer service concerning the problem with our built-in wall oven. KitchenAid offered to sell us a one year extended warranty on our oven for $300. That would be in addition to the charge we would pay to have the oven repaired this time, which we estimate to be over $200. They did not have an answer to our question, How has the faulty KitchenAid oven part or parts been improved so as to not malfunction again and cause our oven to be inoperable each time we use the self-cleaning feature? We do not want to have a repair done that may not really fix the problem. We called Consumer Reports. They recommended that we call the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). We will file a complaint with CPCS. In our opinion, this oven should be recalled by KitchenAid.

I looked and looked at gas ranges - I was very excited to be able to use gas again. I selected this Kitchen Aid stove and was not told that the central oval burner, which I paid extra to have, would not provide more than a low flame. You buy the whole 5th unit for just pancakes only! The self-cleaning oven will not clean the sides of the oven, only the pan over the burner. The little top oven is meant only for warming, not baking or cooking because it cooks so unevenly that toast, food and cookies are done on the glass side and burned on the back side. I have had KA service people out twice and they say that thats the way it is and that it registers 350 degrees when checked. I could have bought an oven for less than 1/2 and had a better oven. Its not the company that produced my 30-yr-old KA mixer, is it?

KFIS29BBMS - Refrigerator was purchased and installed in a brand new home/kitchen in Nov. 2013. In Feb. 2015 (after 15 months of normal use) the in-door ice maker stopped working. Troubleshooting did not fix the problem and we decided we could live without ice. In Apr. 2015 (after 17 months of normal use), food in the top drawer of the freezer was not fully frozen. This is a bigger problem. When looking online for solution suggestions, its become apparent that these failures are not unique to us; This model is a lemon. What a dumb mistake. I thought Id done my research but apparently not. Six months after the warranty had worn out the machine began to over chill and making a racket of noise. After jumping through hoops and many many angry phone calls to KitchenAid and their repair contractors they agreed to pay for the repair. But it didnt fix the problem. This went on for two months. On the day of when it was delivered, the delivery guy, called someone to tell them about the light being white and not blue light on the outside water dispenser. They told me that I should call service about that. Then few days later was getting moisture build up in the whole left side of the refrigerator, where had to wipe it with a towel many times. My old appliances were trouble free, only wanted stainless steel, and matching to my new kitchen appliances I bought from KitchenAid refrigerator, and Whirlpool dishwasher, microwave and stove which are all from the same manufacturer. Blue light is all other appliances, had the service man and told me that tell cant do anything about this. Besides the other problem whereas moisture in whole left side of the French door, ice gets watery where it throw out the ice cubes all stick together, water and ice dispenser on the door does not work too... My Husband and I bought this stove 2 years ago for our rental unit, we never had any complaints from our tenants. But in January we moved in to the property and since then my mind has not been at peace. I have for little girls and we have had episodes were they pass by the stove and happen to bump into the stove and it will turn on the gas. I myself have leaned over the stove to get something and it will turn on, the sad part is we wont notice until we smell the gas. I tried buying some knob covers online but they did not fit due to an extra ring on each knob. So I called KitchenAid and explained the situation. I was expecting a solution, instead they sent some service guys who were very honest and said they couldnt do anything about it and that the company probably had no solution for this either. They recommended searching online for a piece that could cover all the knobs! Really? So if my house happens to blow up in the middle of the night its okay, or if my 3 year old turns on the stove and gets burnt then what? They need to recall these stoves or fix the knobs to be safer and harder to turn on.

The dishwasher doesnt clean, it doesnt dry, you cant interrupt the cycle (add a dish) without starting over. I have to make sure the dishes are spotless before putting them in the washer. My husband and I bought this KitchenAid Dishwasher, Model# KDFE104DSS1 Serial# F52627380 in July 2015. It has not been cleaning the dishes properly for the last 6 months. We called KitchenAid and they stated that it was out of warranty and we could buy a new warranty for $350.00 and it would cover the dishwasher for another year. We spent over $600 for this dishwasher and bought it because of the name. My husband took the dishwasher out and pulled it apart and (after speaking with appliance repair representatives and the internet) figured it was the pump motor bearing. He went to the appliance part store and got a new motor, installed it and it worked. How can a dishwasher pump motor break after only 21 months and the dishwasher is only used twice a week? I would never recommend this dishwasher or any other KitchenAid product to anyone. The customer service only wants to sell you warranties.

Upon baking a heavenly apple pie for desert, (we live in the Okanagan Valley of BC) the well stuffed pie spilled over during baking. After the range cooled off, we set the self clean oven on. The next day, we proceeded to wipe the residue with a damp cloth and we noticed that the oven base was badly pitted. We reported this damage to the manufacturer (1-800-807-6777) and it went on deaf ears. Our range is only four months old. Burnt sugar will pit all porcelain surfaces, we were told. That is not so!! We purchased our Kitchenaid Refrigerator, model # KFIS29BB with great excitement in January 2014. We had done our homework, looked at many fridges and were confident in our choice, having owned wonderful Kitchenaid appliances before. Right away I noticed that it seemed to run a lot, and seemed louder than would be right. Ironically we had also purchased a Kitchenaid Dishwasher which is among the quietest in the industry. By August, the icemaker stopped working. It was under warranty, so the repair team came out. This required two visits, one to diagnose and one to actually repair. On repair day, it took two men four hours. They removed every shelf and bin and replaced the compressor and the evaporator. The repairman confided that he had fixed quite a lot of this particular model. Within two weeks, the ice maker quit again. And this time a loud annoying buzz from the motor began. Another two call repair. The second repair did not require as much time and effort as the first. But within 2 weeks the second repair failed, and the loud buzz was back. The fridge seemed to run constantly, but the temp in the freezer was about 18 degrees, and the fridge, 45. And the buzzing was crazy making incessant. At this point the store agreed to exchange it and we did not purchase another kitchenaid. Im hoping to save someone else the level of aggravation this purchase caused. On a brighter note, the kitchenaid architect series dishwasher rocks!

We purchased KitchenAid Dishwasher model #KUDS30IXSS1 approximately 3 years ago, stainless steel. Performed well the first 5 or 6 months. Has been nothing but trouble with the control panel. Fortunately while still under warranty, the recommended repair store replaced the control panel. Very touchy control panel, and not in a good way. After warranty ran out, have had the control panel replaced 2 more times. Its happened AGAIN. We cannot turn on the dishwasher. First time we bought a KitchenAid dishwasher, and will definitely be our last KitchenAid we buy for any kind of appliance. Stay away from this model!!! Considering how much it cost, very very frustrating. One day the control panel will let us turn it on, the next day not. Then it might work again the next day... Like its possessed. But has been a few days of trying the buttons off and on, and no luck with turning on. Hmm, should we pay for another control panel or just buy a new one?? Advice or recommendations?

I replaced it with a sleek stainless steel KitchenAid dishwasher. It worked flawlessly until just after the warranty expired. First, the top shelf did not get very clean despite my efforts to clean the jets. Then the rollers of the top tray broke making it very difficult to operate the tray. I suspect this is why it is not cleaning well because the tray is misaligned. Now, the dishwasher often does not work at all. It beeps and nothing else. It even beeps if both trays are removed. Dear FOLKS, please read this review. WE FINALLY FOUND A SOLUTION!! My wife
Dear FOLKS, please read this review. WE FINALLY FOUND A SOLUTION!! My wife and I remodeled our upscale homes kitchen 2+ years ago. Granite, all brand new top of the line Kitchenaid appliances. We wanted to buy American, since I have had a 35 year + career in US based manufacturing sales. Well, the KFIS29PBMS refrigerator was unbearably loud from day 1. We had 4 warranty calls right off the bat. They replaced the DC fan motor, the compressor and some icemaker components. This did nothing to relieve the very loud whiny electrical motor sound that was on almost constantly. This took us to the end of our 1 year mfg warranty. We called Kitchenaid several times and they basically showed us their corporate middle finger. They suggested we purchase the extended warranty, which was several hundred $ more! No way, we are not that stupid or foolish. 5 different factory authorized service people visited us. By luck, or I think, Gods grace, repairman #5, who had 18 years as a tech rep, finally solved the issue. The problem was the sealed refrigerant system had a leak. The compressor was kicking into the highest gear (hence the loudest noise level) to try and keep the freezer & refrigerator cool. Our bottom drawer freezers coldest temp was at 20 degrees, when it should have been 0 degrees. The icemaker requires 15 degrees to make ice. It could not do this since 15 degrees was colder than the freezer temp, and the icemaker is located in the refrigerator section! The sealed system has a 10-year warranty, so the final repair cost $0!! Our refrigerator is now very quiet, much to our delight. There were times when we could not deal with sitting at our kitchen table. So, justice was finally done. Call your factory authorized repair people and make them check the temps in the freezer. Kitchenaid needs to stand behind their substandard products. The repair people advised us that Kitchenaid will no longer pay for warranty calls based on noise. If their customers make them replace the expensive sealed refrigerant system enough, perhaps they will spend the extra $ to install better quality units from better quality suppliers. I was told by every tech rep that the quality of todays appliances have deteriorated significantly in recent years. The big companies wants your $, but dont care if they send you bad products. Thank you, I hope this helps many people.

I bought this KitchenAid Refrigerator in February 2017 for almost 8000 dollars. I had my first problem in April. My food was freezing in my refrigerator. When the Technician came he said that the temperature board has a defect and needs to be changed. The same problem occurred in August and after having the Technician come to my house 6 times and changed couple things I called customer service to find a solution. They said that they will send another technician for a second opinion and that he needs to call their tech line and document the problem and they will replace my refrigerator after that. When the technician came and called and told them about the food in my freezer that is showing ice flakes because of the change of temperature they told him that this was normal and I need to vacuum my food and because the reading of the temperature was zero in the freezer and 37 in my fridge everything is running normal. When I called customer service again they said that they are not technicians. They need to send another one over and when I asked what is next step they said they cant give me an answer. The temperature change on its own. Sometimes it goes to -18 in my freezer sometimes to 32 in my fridge and sometimes 55 and for them everything is running normal. I cant put any food in my fridge and I am stuck with this defected fridge because they refuse to replace it even if it is a 6 months old one. Please let me know what kind of company is this and what kind of product are they selling. Does anybody know of any way I can get this refrigerator replaced?

Meanwhile, we have spent $3,000 on a refrigerator that doesnt cool below 50 degrees and the ice maker may or may not dispense ice from the door, which Flamingo cannot address if the one time it decides to work is when the technician is here.. I write this review, because I WISH I would have read this review before purchasing ANY KitchenAid product! Buyer beware!!

Stove - YKERS303BSSO: The coating on the control panel is peeling and the lettering is part of this coating, this is going to affect the readability of the knobs in future if we cannot get this resolved. Since we bought this stove in June 2014 should be a warranty on this type of thing happening? We always use only mild dish soap and a soft cloth to clean it. Sent an email to http://www.whirlpoolappliances.ca twice, second time included photos was told both times, that they recommend calling into their Customer Service Department at 1-800-807-6777 to have this issue resolved. Theyll probably tell us to change the control panel, which will probably cost 1/3 of what a brand new stove would cost. Also, the oven inside window has water/steam stains, how do we get them clean?

First, after less than one year of use, the soap dispenser broke, so we got less-than-satisfactory washes from that point on. Now, the top rack is broken. All wheel assemblies are off, and it cost $80 for replacement parts that they gave us no instructions for. This has been the worst dishwasher I have ever owned. I have owned less-expensive units that cleaned better and never fell apart. Only reason we changed was we upgraded other appliances to stainless steel, and this dishwasher was much quieter. Never buying this brand again. Cheaply made!!

I purchased a KitchenAid microwave for $784.00 and $102.00 for the extended warranty and both of those were my problem. The microwave went out and I have had to make over 10 different calls and waste over 5 hours on the phone with KitchenAid extended warranty company. At first they refused to cover the oven because they said it was heat related damage. I have to admit that I am not very smart but I do know that a microwave oven has to get hot in order to work! After I called the store I purchased it from and after the repair company called them on my behalf, they want me to accept only 75% of replacement value. I can never recommend anyone to buy KitchenAid or Whirlpool products because with my experience, they do not stand behind their products or care about their customers. I have spoken to 3 supervisors; all of them follow the company line. The difference in dollars to keep a satisfied customer is $236.00. That is not much for a multi-billion dollar company. I will continue to contact as many information outlets as possible including TV, radio and newspapers, as well as spending time in appliance stores to inform others of my experience. All I can say is purchase KitchenAid/Whirlpool at your own risk!

I have owned my KSF26CXYY04 side by side for about a year. It does keep food correctly cooled and there have not been problems with leaks or other mechanical issues. However, the drawers (bins) are designed so that all the tension is on tiny triangles. We have had two drawers crack at this stress point and consequently they are unusable. Replacement drawers were ordered $90 a piece plus $20 min. fee for delivery ($200 and counting). It wouldnt be bad if that solved the problem, but it is a matter of time before these also break. I have never had this issue with any other refrigerator.

Presently it is warm again. 56 degrees. It should be at 32 degrees. SO IF YOU DONT MIND THE INCONVENIENCE GO AHEAD AND BUY THIS TRASH!! TOTALLY DISGUSTED WITH THIS PRODUCT. We bought the Kitchenaid combination microwave/convection oven in 2017. Our problem with the unit is a faulty door latch, that apparently is a manufacturing flaw which Kitchenaid is not addressing. Sometimes as we attempt to use the microwave, we get a message that says open/close door. This is an indication that the latch portion that is in the unit (not the door) recedes back into the unit. We have had a repair man come twice to fix the problem, with a standard $89 fee that Kitchenaid does not recognize as covered under warranty. The second time he came, he told us he gets many calls for this problem, and showed us how to fix it ourselves to avoid the service call. It is a 30 minute nuisance to get into the panel for a temporary fix. We are disappointed that Kitchenaid would sell a product that is destined to malfunction repeatedly. We are hopeful they will stand behind their good reputation and fix this manufacturers error.

Now we are looking forward to getting a Sears repairman out to our house, which is in the country, and will cost us at least a few hundred dollars, again. We are not really very happy with KitchenAid. We bought all KitchenAid when we built. What a mistake. I really thought KitchenAid was a good brand. I see on the internet that lots of folks have had self-cleaning shutdowns and KitchenAid will do nothing. Anyone have any ideas about what to do? Class action?

Purchased a Kitchen Aid side-by-side refrigerator as part of a new home purchase. Everything was fine for the first year but then the lights in the refrigerator and freezer began going out. I called Kitchen Aid and they scheduled a service repair. Two lights were replaced (at no cost to me) and about 3 months later, the same issue came up again; no lights. Again I called Kitchen Aid and they sent out the same service repair company and they again replaced two lights (at no cost to me). Now, 4 months have passed and the lights are out again in both the refrigerator and freezer.I called Kitchen Aid a third time and they said the refrigerator was out of warranty and I was on my own even though they didnt fix the problem when it was under warranty. I believe the LED light panel needs to be replaced costing several hundred dollars. Kitchen Aid quality is average at best and I would recommend not purchasing their product. My refrigerator retails for about $10,000, model KBSD608ESS, so I would expect much better quality.

This unit did not work particularly well from the start. Lightly soiled dishes were not clean, even after the excruciating 3.5 hour cycle. A foul smell developed as old water would not clear the system despite regular cleaning of the filters. A pump broke after only 2 months. It was fixed under warranty, but the performance was still poor. Just after a year, the end of the warranty, the pump broke again. We decided to junk it. Why throw good money after bad? Our previous dishwasher (Kenmore) lasted 18 years without a repair. The gaskets went and it was looking tired, but still cleaned well. The KitchenAid did not work well from the start and was nothing but trouble. KitchenAid customer service was no help as well.

Approximately 10 years ago I purchased a 42 inch Kitchen Aid Refrigerator model kssc42qmS01 for about $5500. Seven years later, it required a rebuild of the circuit board for about $400. Last month the overtemp warning light was coming on for both the freezer and refrigerator. The authorized repair guy and Kitchen Aid said they could not fix the board due to the Tsunami in Japan. This excuse does not hold water since there are several after market repair shops that fix these boards daily. Just Google Kitchen Aid Control Board and you will find an entire market place of repair shops and used boards. (They all love Kitchen Aid!) If you read the detailed accounts of other pissed off homeowners who got stuck with a large piece of unserviceable junk in their kitchen read on from this website. My favorite is the guy who fixed his own control card for $6. Blaming a Tsunami is a convenient excuse to not fix or service these refrigerators because of underlying design flaws. Unfortunately I wasnt able to fix my board a second time despite the $500 in service calls and emergency repairs. The refrigerator still cant maintain its temperature. Kitchen Aid says theres nothing they can do except offer me a special price which is not better that a good Internet price from an online deep discounter. Keep in mind that this is a built in in a custom kitchen. (The Kitchen was featured in a local Milwaukee Magazine) I cant just rip this 42 inch built in out and put in a stand alone refrigerator because there would be a large gap in the 42 inch cavity not to mention a 3 inch projection even with a counter depth unit. And why would I buy another Kitchen Aid / GE built in when they walk away from their own product? My advise is to stay away from Kitchen Aid / GE built-ins.

I called Whirlpool to have my 5-month old KithchenAid refrigerator repaired. They sent a repair person out and they replaced the computer, and the refrigerator still did not work; and so I had to wait another week. The repair company came out again and replaced the control panel, and still the refrigerator did not work. It had been 10 days and still the refrigerator did not work. They said they would order another computer and install it. They came out, installed another computer and the refrigerator still is not working. So Whirlpool decided they should order a little needle-nose plier tool and go through each wire in the refrigerator when this tool comes in, as it needs to be special-ordered.So now I will have to wait three weeks with no refrigerator, and Whirlpool offers no recourse whatsoever. This is disgusting. We have seven children and no place to put any refrigerated food. We got absolutely horrible treatment by Whirlpool. They refused to replace the unit; they just keep sending parts and trying to repair a unit at our expense. Disgusting company!

I spent $2,300 at Arts Appliances In North Haven, Ct, for a Slide-n electric range and microwave that were shipped direct from the factory. They were so called professionally installed. The time we used them the range emitted a loud pop and a flash which blew the breaker. The cause was a disconnected burner wire that shorted out on the chassis. Evidently the wire was never connected at the factory, an oversight that could have caused a house fire. We also quickly discovered that the lamp in the microwave above the range did not work.Arts sent us a couple of replacement bulbs. It took all my strength and care to remove the bulb which I discovered had been silicone sealed into the bulb socket. Its incredible that no one discovered these defects during the in assembly process or in Quality Control. Two major appliance shipped to the same consumer and both were defective. Adding insult to injury it took days to reach the factory claim center and days for a tech to arrive. The store owners insisted that I had to resolve the problem with the factory.

I have a built in side by side KitchenAid fridge purchased in 2007. The water input valve, part number w10146431 stopped working but the part was discontinued and is no longer available so the fridge cant be repaired. Whirlpools attitude was I can buy a new fridge at a discount. There should be a law that parts have to be available for 10 years so major appliances can be repaired. In 2007, I purchased a KitchenAid refrigerator from Pacific Sales. The refrigerator made funny noises when it ran but I put a piece of tile on the interior metalwork and the noise went away. Seven years later in 2014, an alarm went off inside the control board indicating a problem with the evaporator cooler. As it turns out, KitchenAid or Whirlpool used substandard capacitors in their control boards leading to premature failure. Mind you, this is a $6,000 refrigerator. When I contacted KitchenAid, they informed me that the part was no longer available due to a tsunami in Japan. KitchenAid referred me to an aftermarket control board manufacturer that wanted $800 for the part. They said that they used to have the boards repaired but that was no longer an option. After following the instructions on Steve Jenkins blog, I was able to have the board repaired at Rockstar Computers in Upland, California. Total cost of the repair was $55.

We bought a brand new KitchenAid dishwasher from a wholesale dealer in Mississauga, Ontario less than a year ago with a 3-year extended warranty. Seven weeks ago, the fuse burnt and had we not stopped the machine, there could well have been a fire hazard. The repairs was called via the wholesale dealer who directs you to KitchenAid head office who eventually send a repairman who tells us that the parts have to be ordered and will be in touch. Weeks drag into months and it 7 months now. The handler for the company incidentally is in the USA and we live and bought the equipment in Canada. Multiple calls followed and we are offered a 3-year extended warranty to placate our annoyance. It seems 94 people ahead of us are waiting for their parts. Threats to reach the decision makers are blocked. We are given 48 hours notice which turns to 3 days. We are thinking of connecting with the Toronto newspapers and the Better Business Bureau. Where else can we complain where it will be noticed by other consumers and heed taken?

I purchased the KitchenAid Gas/Convection Range with AquaLift Self-Cleaning Technology. To put it simply - it does not work. It requires you to pour 1 3/4 filtered water on to the bottom of the range after you remove all racks. Click clean button and poof, in 40 minutes your oven is clean...NOT! I am not a cook. I purchased this oven almost 2 years ago. Ive used it less than 10 times. Mostly for holiday dinners. It just is not that dirty. Tried the self-cleaning feature twice. No difference. It just does not work. I am currently also questioning whether the oven is really working well at all. It takes forever to preheat and lately, more time than usual to cook food. I called customer service as I purchased an extended warranty. They wont come out until I troubleshoot all issues. Their recommendation was to unplug the oven and wait 30 minutes before plugging it back in - to reset the oven. Try cooking something and see if that solves the problem. Havent done that yet at the time of this review, however, I think this is an oven I would avoid purchasing. I know Im going to have to end up scrubbing the inside myself and be forced to use the recommended cleaners and tools or risk forfeiting the warranty. It is a great looking oven. It was recommended to me when I was looking to purchase all new kitchen appliances after a total kitchen reno. I just have a bad feeling about this appliance. Cant imagine what others with families and those that use this oven often are going through regarding the ability to clean it. This AquaLift, low-heat technology DOES NOT WORK.

I purchased an existing house with a KitchenAid Superba stove/cooktop and microwave combo. Everything worked fine for 6 months until I got the crazy idea to use the self-cleaning mode. The oven no longer heats now. I tested the heating elements and they are both fine. I found out that it is most likely the thermal shutdown fuse, a part that runs about $45-$50 online. I can do the replacement myself but as many others have said, I wont use the self-cleaning mode again. For those who cannot afford the cost for a service call, its a pretty easy part to replace - if in fact that is all that went bad during the self-clean. After reading the hundreds of the same complaints out there, I guess I feel lucky that my oven didnt literally explode and possibly hurt my 3 year old. Now into the out of warranty mode and the pump fails again.Going shopping today for a cheaper machine... putting the KitchenAid trash out on the curb for the recycle guy. We purchased a KitchenAid slide in gas range, over range microwave and dishwasher in 2007 when we renovated our kitchen. We have had to replace the control panel twice because when we attempted to self clean, it overheated and locked up. After reading other reviews, I am grateful the glass didnt break as well. The off button for the oven no longer works. Our work around is using the cook duration feature and setting it for 1 minute when we are finished using it. I couldnt tell you the model since everything has melted off the inside of the oven. The top grates broke almost immediately, the knobs are hot and the color has worn off. What I find most upsetting is the over range microwave starts by itself and beeps randomly and then shuts off with an F2 error. We have kept it unplugged when not in use. Out of principle, we have not wanted to replace these as we paid a considerable amount thinking we were buying quality. While apparently the microwave is known to start fires and Kitchenaid never sent us notification. Now our front burner on the stove is having excess gas and conducting mini explosions. We have had to repair the dishwasher multiple times as well. What garbage! I cant believe all of the reviewers who have the same problems and the KitchenAid does nothing to correct the flaws in their appliances. Never, NEVER AGAIN!

KitchenAid 30 free standing gas range with double oven bought. Beautiful to look at BUT! Have had less than a month and many problems. First gas leaks (they were repaired). My one time to use: baked an apple pie in bottom oven. Preheated to 450, baked pie for 15, then reduced to 350 for 45 minutes. During this time the vent blew so hard on top right burners, it got the top range very hot and impossible to use right burners (vent blew the flames... dangerous). Also top right side got extremely hot... not operating correctly at all. Now dealing with Whirlpool Corp Safety Dept to get them to take this range back... scares me to even think about using it... NOT using it... it is a lemon!!! They say must process/have evaluation by technician and then 3 to 4 weeks to process. BS!!! We purchased KitchenAid KUDS30IVWH3 a year and a half ago from Lowe’s. All new dishwashers have a new connector that hooks the water supply to dishwasher. It simply screws onto a plastic piece. Over time this connector simply came loose. It flooded our kitchen and laundry room which has been three months of restoration - new floors, rebuilt cabinets, etc. And it cost many thousands of dollars for the insurance company. It has been a serious problem. The plumber said these new connectors are not safe and he gets nervous every time he installs one. He said they cannot be refit with a different connector.
