I have a KitchenAid dishwasher (Model #: KUDP01FLSS6) that has had a repairman work on 15 times. As many have encountered with this particular model, the green blinking light always means that there is no fix. KitchenAid knew exactly what was going on after a flood of complaints began to occur shortly after putting this product on the market. To date, I have had 12 motherboards installed at $100.00 a piece and every other electrical part that is on the unit. Again, I do have a warranty but KitchenAid knew that they have a problem with a large dishwasher group and refuse to address it. The bottom line is this: do not buy KitchenAid products! They do not stand by their products at all.

The induction cook top has a power boost the is amazing, heating a teapot or pot of water in mere seconds. The double oven is perfect for baking and large meals.

We bought all new appliances 4 years ago. The salesman at the appliance store said KitchenAid was the best. Well apparently he must get a kickback from them because nothing could be further from the truth. In fact the KF1S29BBMS00 french door refrigerator actually sucks! Shortly after we had it the freezer stopped freezing. At least this was covered by a recall. Now, the unit is 4 years old, the ice maker stops working. We called the repair place and they came out and very cavalierly said, Oh yeah there is a service bulletin on this. You need an add on kit to stop the unit from freezing up.OK to my thinking service bulletin is an admission of wrongdoing. Poor design in the first place. So since the unit is out of warranty and we chose not to pay for a ripoff extended warranty we have to pay over $430 to fix what was not designed right in the first place! How can this be our fault? Why would we need a warranty to cover a design flaw? Now while waiting for the repair person to come back with the part that they had to order the drawer in the freezer will not freeze. The lower main compartment is fine but the door will not freeze. DO NOT BUY A KITCHENAID APPLIANCE. Their poor design and engineering becomes your problem.

I purchased a new refrigerator (KitchenAid refrigerator kfs25xvms9) that throws ice everywhere. I had a repairman come to look at it and I was told to use a bigger glass. If I go to something bigger, then I will be using a bowl. This has been embarrassing because I have to tell everyone who comes to the house to Stop! Let me get a bowl or the ice will end up on the floor! I have all new appliances and I was told what I was buying was good stuff but I have to use a bowl to get ice. My question is, why have they not recalled the plastic piece that is supposed to put the ice in the glass? If I had been able to try it out in the store, I certainly would not have bought this model. I really hope that Whirlpool will stand behind what they sell and recall this plastic piece and replace it with one that will do the job. If I do not receive some satisfaction on this matter, then I will contact the Better Business Bureau.

Kitchen Aid Refrigerators Model KBFC42FTSOO - Shame on you KitchenAid. I have several media contacts and once they report on all this I am hopeful that consumers will boycott your product. I also bought a 6300.00 refrigerator from the Great Outdoors in 2011. They were closing and since Sears owned them I purchased a floor model that was on display in a cabinet but had no power on to it. So I figured I saved 1100.00 between the brand new one. Wrong, I was told by the salesperson that it was a new model but when it was delivered and I tried to register it, it was manufactured in 2007. I called the store and Sears but since my receipt was stamped no refunds or exchanges they got me good. So now 3 years later the damn thing never worked right from the start and I have called it a piece of ** from the beginning. Guess what, my control panel out!! They do not have the part, tsunami story told and then broken contract with other company. I immediately called KitchenAid because I could not believe what this Tech was saying. Either I find an outside company with a rebuilt Control Panel or I can wheel the refrigerator to the side of the and basically its junk. KitchenAid confirm that they did not have the part and that the manufacturer was destroyed in the tsunami and the other company that has been listed several of these others complain are no longer is willing to make the control panels for them. I might have a chance of them rebuilding one for me directly and proceeded to provide the phone number for me which was wrong having to call them back and spend another 30 minutes on the phone. Another woman gave me two different phone numbers, none of them worked as well. After the third phone call I was provided with a company name and phone number they gave me that will certainly sell me a rebuilt one. I just paid $1200 for a rebuilt board. Interesting enough this company is offering a 10 year warranty on a rebuild control panel however KitchenAid only offers a one year warranty. I am sure kitchen Aid knew there was problems with this board for years. They should have recalled that or extend the warranty. I have never heard of a company not having a part in to be able to fix these refrigerator when people have paid so much money for them. Unless you have a money tree in your backyard and are able to pick enough for a new $8500-$10,000 refrigerator which I do not. They should stock the part and be able to control the market from other outside companies hiking it up prices to their desperate customers that just need their refrigerators fixed, realistically the part probably cost about $2.00 to make. I called KitchenAid as well, they said theyre putting in my case up for review to do the prorated. Its changed. From what Ive heard $1500 doesnt equal $6000 and these parts are not that expensive to obtain. This is absolutely the most hideous thing Ive ever seen a company do. This is the United States. This is a huge corporation. I hope everyone never buys a KitchenAid product again. Why would anyone in their right mind take $1500 for refrigerator thats worth more so we have no choice but to go to outside venues for these parts? Again outrageous, ridiculous and the most disgusting thing a manufacturing company can do. If they’re so willing to cough up the prorated amount why dont they do the right thing and at least split the cost of the part with the consumer if theyre giving them willy nilly numbers of outside companies and not controlling the market. Why would a company offer a 10 year warranty and not the manufacturer? I have purchased KitchenAid products for years. My whole kitchen is full of this top-of-the-line series. I will be slowly changing every single KitchenAid product out of my kitchen and if I am going to spend the money on that type of product itll certainly be Sub-Zero that offers a 12 year warranty from top to bottom on the refrigerators. There are hardly any bad reviews about Sub-Zero. KitchenAids competitors seems like they at least know how to stand behind their consumer. Shame on you KitchenAid. This is disgusting. Oh by the way, the tech Whirlpool factory care that KitchenAid called for me cause if I used someone else, my what little of a piece of junk warranty is left would be void. Charged me $145.00 for call and removal of board and oh by the way I have to have him reinstall the board for another $145.00. Cause warranty on motor and compressor will be voided if I reinstall. Pissed off!!

They refer me to the service center. The service center only services during the work week... in 5 hr windows... So they think no one works 8-5. Rotten family of products. After a spill over from a fruit pie I tried cleaning my oven for the first time. I followed the directions...wipe up the spilled water in the bottom of the oven and the very short cleaning cycle. The water was not even hot when the cycle finished and absolutely nothing happened. The convection oven does not work so its a very expensive stove that I could have purchased in the 60s. I have owned this KitchenAid DishWasher mod KUDS301xwh8 for only 3 years and today I find out I need a new motor plus a motherboard. When I called into KitchenAid for the repair scheduling, after I gave them this model number, they immediately offered me a one year warranty deal for more than 350$ which would cover the service call and all costs plus another year on a warranty. I thought that was odd to offer that right out of the gate and right after the model number, SO now I know that this model is a lemon and they have replaced motors on it so they offer this coverage to prevent fights from consumers. So now I will file an official complaint and request a new dishwasher plus I am canceling the payment of the warranty on my credit card as this is fraud on their part. DO NOT BUY THIS BRAND... I have owned many dishwashers in 50 years of homeownership and never had any of them as much as need a service call in over 14 years of owning them but I never owned a KitchenAid and this one cost me more money than any other brand I ever owned. Guess you dont get what you pay for.

We just renovated our entire home, and I wanted a good, solid, basic dishwasher for the basement kitchen, thinking this a better option for my teens. This is not our main kitchen and it doesnt get the normal amount of use like our main, upstairs kitchen, and I didnt want anything too complicated. The KitchenAid dishwasher was installed and leaked from day two. It leaked out the sides and all over the floor, and ruined the brand new cabinetry that it was installed next to. In the two years that weve had it, it has been serviced 7 times, and tomorrow will be the eighth. It was barely nine months old and a pump had to be replaced.Early on, I begged the KitchenAid company for a new unit. I even offered to spend a little more and get a totally different unit, knowing Id have to have another cabinet panel made to match our cabinets. Anything to get this lemon out of my kitchen! Nothing doing. Im basically stuck with it, and now whenever I call (again) for service, they want to charge me the service call because its out of warranty, even though they have the service history. I ask for a supervisor and they finally agree to foot the service call, but for how much longer, its anyones guess. Thank goodness I chose two Bosch dishwashers for upstairs. They are quiet and work wonderfully, and they get a lot of use!

Model # KUDS03STSS3 - stainless inside and out is a piece of **! I purchased it on March 2009, as of this weekend (when it went down again), I have had six service calls! So many that they extended the warranty (or so they said) - voila - no extended warranty and the pos is down again! I now need to pay to service this lemon because Whirlpool (parent co) would not classify as a lemon and replace. This is the very last time I purchase this brand. The customer service people had done nothing but apologized for the inconvenience. They could care less that you are taking multiple days of off to wait for service that should never be in the first place. I have filed a complaint with the NJ Consumer Protection and have asked for compensation for the cost of the dishwasher, and time taken off from work. I will post consequences when finished - but I am finished!

Ill try to keep my comment short. We built our house two years ago; and all new Kitchen Aid appliances were bought. I have no complaint with any of them (refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher) except for the range. I have had difficulties on occasion when the oven would not preheat. However, my biggest complaint is with the Aqualift self-cleaning feature. It doesnt work well at all. I dont want to scrape, scrub, reach into the oven to clean. Im getting too old for that. I truly would not recommend this type of range to anyone unless they want a workout cleaning the oven.

Our house (built in 2006) came with KitchenAid SS appliances. All of them have had issues. In 2010 our dishwashers thermal fuse burnt. We replaced it and it worked for a while. Then after about 6 months, it failed again. I had it replaced again and it worked for a while. I now have the flashing Normal and Cancel lights. Pulled the power plug and connected it back after 15 minutes. Still the same issue. Came to know that it is either a keypad or control board issue. So then we started using it to store manually washed vessels. Then one day, while opening the door, I heard a snap and then the door fell loose instead of going down gently. I noticed a cord sticking out of the bottom with frayed end. As I shone my flashlight through the bottom corner, I noticed a plastic piece which was probably attached to the cord/rope and I could also see a large spring lying on the floor underneath the dishwasher (on the side), which I am assuming this plastic was connected to. So the cord would pull on the spring and slow the opening of the door. It looks like the knot of the cord came undone and then the plastic fell off and came unattached from the spring. Such badly designed appliances. The torsion spring on my microwave broke twice and the door falls freely. Not fixing again. Never again will I buy an appliance of theirs or Whirlpool.

We bought the Kitchenaid combination microwave/convection oven in 2017. Our problem with the unit is a faulty door latch, that apparently is a manufacturing flaw which Kitchenaid is not addressing. Sometimes as we attempt to use the microwave, we get a message that says open/close door. This is an indication that the latch portion that is in the unit (not the door) recedes back into the unit. We have had a repair man come twice to fix the problem, with a standard $89 fee that Kitchenaid does not recognize as covered under warranty. The second time he came, he told us he gets many calls for this problem, and showed us how to fix it ourselves to avoid the service call. It is a 30 minute nuisance to get into the panel for a temporary fix. We are disappointed that Kitchenaid would sell a product that is destined to malfunction repeatedly. We are hopeful they will stand behind their good reputation and fix this manufacturers error.

My KitchenAid dishwasher has been a problem for some time, it was making the dishes dirtier than when they went in from the beginning. KitchenAid refused to fix it, then after the warranty, it started to melt items that were extremely heat resistant and would not move through the cycles. We called a repairman and paid him to have the board replaced. It didnt make a difference. Upon further investigation, we realized that the fire in the dishwasher had damaged the heat element and the plastics around it. We thought that the circuit board might have been the cause so we moved on replacing the element and associated parts around it.It worked better for a little time, now its looking like its back to trouble again. Its not moving through cycles, dishes are filthy and I smell that burn again. I am afraid that its dangerous. We dont run it while we are asleep or away from home for fear of fire.

Extremely disappointed that our Kitchenaid microwave magnetron has failed after only 2.5 years and requires $325 to repair (65% of the purchase price new). We have never put metal in the unit, which, after researching, appears to be the only possible operator cause of failure, meaning a part that is reportedly supposed to last 22 years is clearly defective from the factory. Service staff on the phone have been quite kind and sympathetic, but unable to help. They encouraged me to email the company directly, which I have done with the above verbiage, requesting explanation of their policy to not cover this under warranty, especially after seeing so many other people complain of the same issue. The company has not responded. The service tech who diagnosed says hes seeing this more and more, as the appliances are being built less and less robustly.

We bought the 29 cubic foot french door freezer bottom fridge (KFIS29PBMS) in the spring, and have had nothing but problems with it. When we received the unit, the door baskets and wide drawer were broken. I called support, and got a very friendly agent who shipped out new parts. In July, we noticed a large ice block forming in the top left corner of the fridge. I called support again, and got an average agent that said it is a known issue that they are making a part for, however it will not be ready until November. Last week I noticed that rust spots are forming on the front of freezer door, AND a fan or compressor now clangs horribly when the unit attempts to cool. It is loud enough that we cannot have a conversation on the main floor without being interrupted. I called support again, and spoke with a very rude agent. They are sending out a service tech, however we are really disgusted with the lack of quality in this product.

Bought a great looking KitchenAid oven last year, but it has an unusual malfunction of blowing hot air from the oven into the kitchen for extended periods of time while the oven is on, and most annoyingly, after the oven is turned off. It heats up the kitchen so much it is uncomfortable to be in there while cooking anything in the oven.Just now, we turned off the oven more than an hour ago, and incredibly, the fan in the oven suddenly turned on and for about five minute spewed more hot air into our kitchen. This is a major malfunction. Previously contacted KitchenAid, but the phone operator could not help and thought this was normal. This cannot possibly be normal. It probably heats up the kitchen by 10 to 15 degrees, which is a killer. DO NOT BUY THIS STOVE/OVEN.

Wife & I are close to retirement so we bought a top line KitchenAid Dishwasher for about $1,100 thinking we not only had a warranty but would have good performance and few if any repairs. Less than 2 years into the purchase we have now been without a dishwasher for over 4 weeks. The certified repair agency has been here 4x now and the dishwasher now has new: User Interface panel, CPU Control unit, dirty water sensor, motor, pump, tub, wiring harness.KitchenAid will not replace the unit with a new one (so much easier and so much better customer service). They would rather go through all of this replacement and inconvenience. This is similar to buying a rusted, dilapidated car from a junk yard. Made in Mexico I think. Very poor customer service. Very poor product. Not worth a $50 much less $1,100. Never again. Please tell your friends. I will be telling my friends as often as I can. The repair men are here today & if its not fixed, the BBB, the president of the company & the FTC will hear about it.

We have owned a KitchenAid Dishwasher, Model KUDS35FXSS8 for 16 months. The wheels on the upper dish rack have already come off, rendering it unusable. This happened because the plastic tabs that hold the wheels in place have become brittle and cracked off in this short time. Kitchen Aids warranty states that the dish rack is warranted for 5 years. Refrigerator KSSC42QMS - I bought the above mentioned fridge in August 2004 for $5788 plus tax locally. I had remodeled an older house and redid the whole kitchen, bought commercial grade appliances in stainless steel. The fridge was the top of the line in 2004. Right before Christmas 2014 - 10 years later the fridge started to beep. We could tell there was something not working correct. We called the number on the sticker and were referred to an appliance repair shop. They came out and checked it. I paid $75. I was told that the board was going out and we would have to pay around $200 to have it replaced. Then we received a phone call where we were told there are no more parts available. I was totally shocked. I can understand that that kind of fridges are not build anymore; but that you can’t supply replacement parts for a fridge which was $6000, that’s just not right. Thanks to my son Bernhard, who is very handy and computer savvy, I didnt need to buy a new fridge. He checked online and read all the comments about the boards and the fridges, which were built up to 2007. There were different options for him: they offered to get a new board for $1500 which is the biggest joke, you can buy a nice fridge for that money! Or he could pay $20 for directions to repair the board, or just order the parts to fix the board. Since he didnt need the directions, he just ordered the replacement parts for the board. Obviously anybody can order those parts, just not the Kitchenaid Service Department or the Repair company! What a poor service! To make a long story short: my son ordered parts to repair the board for $18. EIGHTEEN DOLLARS!!! And fixed it himself within 5 minutes! I’m very proud to have a son like him! I always thought Kitchenaid was a great major appliance brand, I guess I was totally wrong. I will never buy anything Kitchenaid.

Our KitchenAid dishwasher is about 5 years old. I just loved it for the first two years, and then it never seemed to clean the dishes. So I rinsed them before putting them in the dishwasher; then, it didnt even remove the soap. I washed them and then put them in the dishwasher to rinse them. About a month ago, it started to run on its own. It was just the top drawer. I could not shut it off. Now, both drawers will not stop running. I consider this a fire hazard, and this dishwasher should be recalled before someone dies in a fire. My husband is totally disabled and is scared to be in the house in case the thing catches fire. Presently, I cannot afford to replace it. So we have to put up with two drawers full of water, which is beginning to smell. I add a little bleach every day. This dishwasher is a complete piece of overpriced junk, and I will never buy anything made by KitchenAid or any of their subsidiaries.

Since the purchase, the dishwasher has been repaired three times and is currently needing repair again; the refrigerator has been repaired twice - once the compressor had to be replaced; the range has been repaired twice and still takes about an hour to preheat, in addition the surface knobs turn on so easily that just brushing against them turns the burners on accidentally - the dog has turned them on twice - once when no one was home - nearly catching the house on fire; the microwave currently makes a popping noise and has had to be repaired once before. All of these repairs are in addition to minor repairs like refrigerator shelves/doors breaking and handles coming off. I will never again buy a KitchenAid appliance. KitchenAid products are worthless and have a terrible design.

I bought my KitchenAid dishwasher model KDTM354DSS5 from Best Buy on December 10th 2017. I noticed my dishes werent coming out clean and went on a trip to NY. When I got back my floor was covered in water. I called the repair center at Best Buy and they told me the warranty expired on the 10th of December 2018. What the heck - 9 days later and you cant cover it. They sent me to a call center and the lady sold me service plan for $286.00. I called the service provider and they told me I cant use it for 60 days and that they wont cover the repair since it happened prior. Do not buy KitchenAid which is Whirlpool in disguise. I spent over a $1000.00 for a dishwasher that didnt hold up for a year. It is the pump. A very costly repair.

I purchased three appliances from KitchenAid in December 2005: a dishwasher, double oven and a microwave. The microwave only lasted three years and had to be replaced. I had to repair the dishwasher in 2009 and the double ovens twice, once in 2012 and once in 2013. The customer service has been terrible every time I have to deal with them since 2009.

We have had two kitchenaid ranges in the last two years. The first one burnt up twice on the self-clean cycle and was replaced by a range with a higher speed blower fan that is extremely loud and annoying. Kitchenaid replaced the fan twice and have come to a conclusion that this is normal. When I first contacted Kitchenaid, their comment was we have had no noisy fan complaints. Service techs they have replaced many. Kitchenaid have told us they no longer going to help us with the noisy fan as it is normal. We are now stuck with a $2200 range. We will never buy kitchenaid junk again.

Service tech was useless and the problem that was fixed is broken yet again. They are now telling me I will be responsible for the diagnostic visit and depending on what is wrong, may have to pay to get it fixed. I have had technicians out more times than I can count. Also the drawers broke the first year I had it and I tried to fix them. After a while, I bought new ones, which broke again after 2 months. I like the layout and size of my refrigerator, but the side-by-side doors don’t work well. The left one has to be pushed hard to close and frequently hangs open. Also, the water dispenser inside the left by the spine of the door requires two free hands and has too much pressure, usually splashing water around the inside of the refrigerator.

We purchased this KitchenAid refrigerator 2 years ago. The quality is amazingly poor. The flange on both crisper drawers broke during the first year. KitchenAid was kind enough to send replacements. Unfortunately they are the same design/same materials. Next the housing that covers the water filter broke off during the first filter change. Now, at two years, we have the plugged defroster drain that seems ubiquitous with these refrigerators. We shut the refrigerator off for a day with a small space heater directed at the drain in an attempt to thaw the thing out. No luck. Water still leaks down into the bottom of the freezer and eventually drains onto the floor. Weve had more problems with this unit than with every other refrigerator weve owned over the past 40 years - combined. Such a disappointment. KitchenAid use to make a quality product. Now their Kitchen products need constant Aid.

You have been fair warned. If you still buy a KitchenAid refrigerator after reading this then you have no right to complain. Total piece of junk - completely failed after less than 2 years. We lost several hundred dollars of food. Apt Appliances offered to do nothing but charge a $165 service call with a $400 labor minimum. This is after I bought ALL my appliances from them for a new house build. I called KitchenAid and they too denied warranty until I really started complaining and only then did they remember that there is some 2-4 year warranty covering many major parts and I could just purchase a warranty plan for $300 odd dollars to cover labor. They have zero pride in their product. I know the days of 30 year old appliances are gone, but 2 years - really???? Furthermore, their customer service people were aloof and rude. The best I can hope for is a class action law suit. Hopefully some law firm does a search that that term and stumbles upon these posts and takes action against them. This is what I get for buying made in America? Hopefully Honda will start making appliances!!!! In closing, may Satan curse KitchenAid.

The next morning, the beautiful blue interior turned an unsightly gray wherever the food had spilled. The interior is permanently scarred. Im now ashamed to open my oven door! I contacted KitchenAid by phone and in writing. They refuse to do anything about it, saying this is to be expected and that the damage to the interior of my oven is only cosmetic. The thing never made ice and after having 4 visits from 2 different service companies the summer ended still without making ice. We called them back the next spring (house was winterize during winter months) and guess what? The warranty had expired. I had to buy a separate ice maker (not KitchenAid) so we could have ice. I purchased this fridge in early 2013. The ice bin latch has not worked since last summer. The bin does not stay latched and come forward the next time the draw is opened. When I called Kitchen Aid, expecting to speak with a customer service tech about the problem, the only option they offered was to forward me to an independent parts distributor. I did not want to purchase a new ice bin or schedule a costly service call if there was something I could do with the help of an over the phone technician. The distributor informed me that Kitchen Aid does not offer over the phone support and my only option was to call for a service technician to come to the house. Is it true there is no customer service support? That is a huge disappointment. After paying thousands of dollars for these appliances the customer is on their own. Also the quality of the stainless steel is poor. I find it difficult to clean and it dents very easily. I had another band stainless steel fridge for fifteen years, when my kids were small and crashing into everything, and it never dented. Now there are only adults in the household and it already has three dents. It is extremely upsetting to have a dented appliance in my brand new kitchen. I was planning to purchase all Kitchen Aid appliances in my new kitchen, but fortunately decided to go with a Bosch dishwasher and a Sharp microwave, which are of much better quality. I will not recommend or purchase another Kitchen Aid appliance.

Stay away from the Steam Oven. We purchased this double wall oven which is a high-end Steam Oven on October 9, 2014. I cleaned it for the first time last week. The door does not seal between the panes. They are now streaked. There are big stains in the floor of each oven from the steam cooking. This is not able to be cleaned. I called Kitchen Aid, 800-422-1230. I was told the staining is normal. It is considered cosmetic and not covered under warranty. The doors are also cosmetic, even though I would need a repair man to disassemble the doors in order to clean them. I would not purchase this high-end item again, EVER. Although it cooks wonderfully, I want it to look clean. I am going to pull out the oven and purchase a different unit because having a double wall oven that cannot be cleaned is out of the picture in my house, as I am sure it is in yours.

I have owned a KitchenAid Gas Range/Convection Oven KGSA906PSS for several years. I attempted to use the self-clean feature for the first time ever yesterday. I wished I had searched for KitchenAid complaints on this website first. Apparently, I am one of many who has burned up the oven control panel by merely using a feature of the oven. How is this possible that there is no recall or product support from KitchenAid for such a common problem and obvious product defect? I called KitchenAid and as you can guess from their low ratings on this and other sites. They were zero help and I got the impression they could care less if any of us ever buy a KitchenAid product again. They should be happy to know that I in fact would never buy another KitchenAid product or recommend that anyone else ever does. The repair (punishment) cost is estimated at $600. This is a repair for attempting to use the oven clean feature one time. One of the features we looked for on an oven although for some reason (thankfully) we didnt use. This represents a full 45 percent of the ovens purchase price and yet KitchenAid has no assistance or comment. Good Job, KitchenAid. I hope this experience helps somebody make a wiser purchase decision.

The highest I got is a supervisor who thought giving me a brand new one for $1189 was a good offer. I paid $1600 for it. Sure is nice to sell me a refrigerator every two years! What makes them think I would ever buy another KitchenAid product? Very disappointing! My whole kitchen, when done in the 80s, was KitchenAid. My wife and I purchased KitchenAid appliances for our home thinking that these would be quality products and something that would last with the least problems. Also, we have received good service from their company reps. As with various KitchenAid models, there seems to be issues with the self-clean mode on the ovens. The first time we tried to use the self-clean mode, it locked up after about an hour and would not release nor would our oven operate. We called for service and we chose only the 1-year warranty so ours was out of warranty. It became a costly repair of about $300.00 to replace a burned-out thermostat. After repair, about a month later, we tried to clean it again and the same occurred. This time, I researched on the Internet for the schematics and I replaced the same thermostat for $50.00 myself. The stove did work and freed up but we still cannot use the self-clean mode. What is the sense of paying for quality products and paying for features you cannot use? KitchenAid says there is nothing they will do as no recall has been issued. Can this also become a danger to use in our home? Needless to say, we also have problems with our ice maker on our KitchenAid refrigerator which is also out of warranty. The problem here is the ice cubes get hung up in the maker and stops making ice as it is hung up. Who wants to check this every day?

This is quick, easy, and short. I purchased a new KitchenAid side by side
This is quick, easy, and short. I purchased a new KitchenAid side by side in March of 2011. One month later, it stopped cooling. As a service tech, I had already tested and found that the start relay and overload were bad because the compressor was about to take a dump. I called for service which took about a week to arrange. When the service tech arrived, he replaced the relay and overload without testing the compressor. I asked him if that was common practice which I knew wasnt. He replied that it was a common problem and it wasnt necessary to test the compressor and everything should be fine. Little did he know about my abilities. Knowing KitchenAids reputation, I was fully prepared on how to deal with the situation and didnt want or need to have to go through what so many others had to do. Also knowing that the compressor only had a limited life of maybe a week before it quit completely, I first purchased a used old refrigerator for $50.00 to get me by just in case. In about 8 days, the problem with the original fridge returned now even worse. Then, I went to the same store I bought the original KitchenAid. I purchased the same unit on my credit card for over $2,600. Foreseeing what was impending doom for the original fridge, I moved it out of site and had the new one delivered. The next day, I canceled the credit card transaction for the new fridge and called the store to advise them to come and get the fridge. What they didnt know is I exchanged the old fridge with the new one and even switched the ID tags that have the serial number. The next day, the store came to get the fridge not knowing they got the old one broken back in exchange. Ironically, no one had a clue nor did they even check. So, I ended up with a working new refrigerator. And I didnt have to deal with poor service not only from the store, KitchenAid reps, or a service provider that doesnt have a clue on how to repair these products. In the end, I not only now have a good working and new refrigerator, but the old one I bought as a stand by for $50 was cleaned up and completely checked out, then sold for $150.00.

We purchased the above-captioned refrigerator in February 2013. For many month after the purchase, we dealt with a bottom freezer door that would freeze shut and could not be opened without using tools. After four different repairs, the door was finally fixed. Just this month the freezer and ice-maker completely failed. Initially we were told it was a control board. Luckily, we had a second opinion (which we paid for) to find out what was really wrong. I purchased a KitchenAid dishwasher a year and a half ago. When I moved in the house, there was a perfectly good working dishwasher in the kitchen, only problem was it was from the 1970s. I replaced it with a sleek stainless steel KitchenAid dishwasher. It worked flawlessly until just after the warranty expired. First, the top shelf did not get very clean despite my efforts to clean the jets. Then the rollers of the top tray broke making it very difficult to operate the tray. I suspect this is why it is not cleaning well because the tray is misaligned. Now, the dishwasher often does not work at all. It beeps and nothing else. It even beeps if both trays are removed. KitchenAid was not helpful at all when I contacted them. Avoid!!!

Having purchased an entire kitchen of KitchenAid products, almost every one has broken - more than once. While the company repaired the dishwasher handle the first time it broke, they refused to fix the dishwasher door, which flops open dangerously. I paid over $100 to have it fixed. Now that the microwave, which comes on spontaneously, must be fixed, theyve agreed to that, but not the handle that broke off or the faux-stainlesss/plastic vent cover that ironically fell on the floor days after the call. Turns out they now admit that the dishwasher door is a chronic problem and theyll cover it, but in astonishingly rude tones, refused to fully fix or replace the microwave, even though I have paid for defects they now acknowledge. Instead, theyve invited me to buy a new vent cover at my own expense, investing additional money in their plainly substandard appliances. Or, I can buy a new KA microwave = at 15% off?! (To be clear, I would sooner set $649 on fire and use the flame to cook). Customer service is, at the corporate level, woefully rude and disinterested in customer satisfaction, seemingly having deaf and numb to their growing number of angry consumers. Amazingly, I visited a friend in L.A. who has the same appliances. And the same problems.

I have had this fridge for three years. We have been seeing issues with every feature on it. The lights won’t come on, the ice maker is malfunctioning, it won’t dispense water or ice. The fridge will turn off completely for hours and sometime days. My only saving grace is to unplug the fridge, wait ten minutes and plug it in. When I do this, the fridge goes back to normal for about a week.I reached out to Kitchenaid and they sent a tech to my house. The technician told me that there is a common error with the circuitry stemming from the deli drawer. If you read all the negative reviews you will see I am not the only one experiencing the issue. The technician did all his diagnostics and found nothing. He called the tech hotline for Kitchenaid and they told him this is a common issue with this model. The deli circuit and wiring needs to be replaced. They have done it to hundreds of this model. (READ ALL THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS.) The technician told me that even though there are many models that have gone through this, it is not covered under warranty. The parts start at $600 not including labour. When I called Kitchenaid back and told them of the issues and how this is a common issue, they did not deny this. They did say that yes there are a lot of negative reviews on here about this problem, as there are a lot of negative reviews about any product on the internet. They advised that even though it could be a manufacturer defect, the warranty is one year on this and they will do nothing for me. Marie from the Whirlpool Hotline was very adamant that regardless how many people are experiencing this issue, the warranty is one year. Kitchenaid will not repair the fridge, and I am on the hook for what should be considered a recall due to manufacturer defect.I have since reported the issue to the consumer protection act, and advised them that Kitchenaid is aware of the defect, even acknowledges it, but won’t repair or replace. I am not asking for cash back for the food that was spoiled, nor am I asking for a new fridge. I just want the defect repaired, but that is too much to ask outside of one year.

Tried to use oven again and did the same thing. Called Kitchenaid and they would not admit or even acknowledge they were aware of the problem. I told them they had to be aware of the problem because I have seen postings of the same exact problem going all the way back to 2005. Had to ask twice to talk to supervisors at next level to try and get their explanation of what it would take to repair the range. I explained I wanted to talk to someone who had knowledge of what it was required to fix the problem. Someone at KA has to know what is wrong. I am now waiting for the third supervisor to call us back. One posting I read said that in the state of NY there was a class action lawsuit filed against KA. This is an extremely dangerous situation and could cause a serious fire. Do not understand why this problem has not been addressed. The ovens should have been recalled.

In August of 2013, I purchased a KitchenAid dishwasher from my local appliance store at a cost of $666. Owning this for less than 2 years, the machine would not fill with water. Upon inspection, I was told that it needed a new pump valve at a significant expense. Really!! After less than 2 years?? I come from an era when large appliances lasted longer than 10 years! We purchased a high end KitchenAid side by side refrigerator in 2009, erroneously believing that KitchenAid products were of high quality. Wrong! In 2014 the refrigerator failed and was not repairable. Fortunately we had purchased an extended warranty and it was replaced with a new one, same model. In September, 2019, the replacement failed and was again not repairable. These are junk refrigerators with junk warranties as they do not last long enough to take advantage of repair and parts warranties. As they say, To forgive once is to be human. To forgive twice is to be a fool. Dont be a fool and buy a KitchenAid (Whirlpool) refrigerator.

The wheel assembly broke for the top rack of our KUDS30IXSS6. We called to order new parts, and we have been waiting 3 weeks--using our dishwasher without the top rack. I called today, and they said they couldnt ship because they hadnt received enough parts. They had orders for 21,000 parts, but didnt receive that many. Clearly, this is a serious issue and a defective product. So much money on this stainless steel dishwasher, down the drain. What can the consumer do??!

I installed a KitchenAid Dishwasher KUD101FL SS3, Type 577-0, during my remodel. I have to wash the dishes before I put them into the dishwasher or they leave dried food on them. The cable pulley broke and came crashing down on my leg. The door is very heavy. I was very fortunate that I was bruised rather than fractured. Also, there was a very loud clashing noise when the blade goes around. Now, I am not using it at all and must call a repair person. Of course, it is no longer under warranty. What a shame that I paid so much for a worthless appliance.

I have a 6-year-old Stoves dual fuel range cooker. Sure, its out of warranty, but now it only functions as a hob! The thermostat on the main oven failed last year. Stoves cant fix it because the company that made it has gone out of business (no thought of doing anything about it). Now the interior glass shielding on the secondary oven decided to shatter last night. I cant expect anything to last, but in these times, I expect that something would be fixable. I will never buy anything by Stoves again. It was an expensive item around $1500, so not exactly bottom of the range! But it definitely is bottom of all ranges!

Purchased all new appliance for our renovated Kitchen in May of 2017. They were installed towards the end of June, and we started having issues with the refrigerator within months. This is Model KRFF305ESS00, French doors, with water dispenser inside on the left-hand side. Once you fill a glass with water, the water dispenser doesn’t shut off properly and continues to drip... not one or two drips... but constantly. I phoned and the first serviceman they sent out told me that there was nothing wrong with it, and that is just the way it is. I called back, they sent another service guy out who said “that’s not right, but I’m not really sure what’s going to fix it, but I will order a new water tank and tube and see if that does the trick. I will also order a new air damper because it seems to be grinding and it shouldn’t be”.Two weeks later he returned with the parts, installed them, and it worked better for about a month. Now it’s still dripping, and the noise it makes sounds like it’s going to take off. I just called with warranty department, and there is no more coverage. It will cost $139 plus tax just to have someone come out and then more money for whatever parts they want to try next, that likely won’t work. My husband says “take it to the dump, it’s a piece of $3,000 garbage”!!! We will be shopping for another refrigerator... and it won’t be KitchenAid. How do these people stay in business??? Oh... Cathy on the warranty line, sure was trained properly... All she could say was “I certainly understand how you feel, but there is nothing we can do about it”!!!

We purchased this dishwasher (KUDE70FXPA3) and had it installed 6 months later when our kitchen renovation was finished. After one use, the door latch froze and it would not shut. A week later, the repairman came and reset the lock. When we tried to use it again a few days later (not used in the interim), the latch was frozen again. Out came the repairman with a new latch. All seemed well until the unit started to leak from the lower right side. The repairman cant explain it but is ordering a new seal. KitchenAid did extend the warranty for another year for free as we have only used the machine for six months and have been helpful, but I think it is a poor design. It is also supposed to be able to support a wood cabinet face. The springs are so weak that it barely holds it up. The repairman says it is the same with all of them. We bought this unit, our third KitchenAid dishwasher, because we loved the first two. Suddenly, there is a real quality problem and I would not be likely to buy another KitchenAid unit in the future. The customer service has been good but I really have little faith in the product. It seems like KitchenAid is experiencing the General Motors Syndrome. Hopefully, like GM, they recognize the problems and get back to building quality products. I still love our KitchenAid stand mixer.

I have had my refrigerator for about 4 years (MOD: KSSC42QVS02). I have had a multitude of problems with the unit ranging from a broken ice maker, frost causing a leak from the freezer, but most frustrating is a repeated problem that the refrigerator will not cool appropriately. I have had 5 service visits from an authorized repair person and now am told I have to buy a part because there is a known issue with the one that shipped with the unit. Since I had reported this problem within the first 12 months and it was never fixed, I assumed it would be covered. Instead I get into a circular conversation with customer service reps who are obviously trained to say no. At this point Ive spent close to an additional $1000.00 for a refrigerator that is 4 years old. This had led me to boycott any future KitchenAid or related company products.

Bought a KitchenAid fridge, French doors, freezer on bottom two years ago for total kitchen remodel - all Kitchenaid appliances. I have had multiple programs with numerous appliances. I now have WATER from the ice maker coming out on my gorgeous hardwood floor and ruining the cherry cabinet around the fridge. My side-by-side fridge/freezer I bought 22 yrs ago from Sears and moved to the basement is working fine... NEVER required a service call. I used to be a KitchenAid fan. NO MORE. I would NEVER buy another KitchenAid product. No wonder they try so hard to sell extended warranties. They are selling junk and its NOT cheap.

We had this oven range delivered in early December 2019. By Dec 26, the inside top oven enamel had shattered. After some long phone calls and declined offers of $150 cash back on a $2,000 oven, we were approved for a full replacement. The replacement oven was delivered on January 18, 2020. On February 1st, 2020, the oven enamel shattered again. The oven was used a handful of times, never over 400 degrees F. Enamel could have easily gotten into my food while cooking. Kitchenaid should look out for a lawsuit for knowingly selling defective ranges. Unfortunately we bought a whole line of Kitchenaid appliances because we wanted them all to match in our kitchen. I am requesting a refund and will not be purchasing Kitchenaid.

I purchased a KitchenAid refrigerator model # KBLS22KWMS4, which was delivered to my home on July 8, 2010. We had 2 service calls to repair the appliance in the first year of purchase and 2 service calls in the second year of purchase, all for the same problem. We purchased a KitchenAid because of the reputation and as you can see, we are extremely unhappy with this appliance. When I called Whirlpool Canada for an exchange after the second call, I was told that they only provide service calls, no exchanges. Today, I called again as this is the fourth time the refrigerator is not working properly and again, I was told that you do not offer exchanges on appliances even though I have had 4 service calls for the same problem; 2 in the first year of purchase and 2 in the second. Obviously, this product is defective. From this I can only conclude that you do not stand by your equipment.

We purchased a high end KitchenAid refrigerator (almost 3,000) and began having problems within 6 months. Have had 6 technician visits to attempt to fix (back of refrigerator freezes up, cant get filtered water, stops cooling and food rots in our absence). EVERY replaceable part that is not considered part of the inner compartment has been replaced. Our last technician, in writing, wrote that there was nothing else that could be done except replace the entire refrigerator and that ours was a lemon. I called the manufacturer (Whirlpool/KitchenAid) and they told me that I had a problem and they didnt, in other words... I was SOL. We purchased a KitchenAid refrigerator (model KFIS29PBMS) with a 5 year extended warranty. We started having trouble with the unit after 1 year, in that the freezer compartment was making a lot of noise. About a year later, it started again. the problem was the freezer was not keeping ice cream hard. They diagnosed the problem to be the automatic defrost cycle not working properly. Ice would build up around the fan causing the loud noise. This time, the service technician replaced the control panel and another panel in the rear of the unit. The noise subsided, but two problems continue to exist. The unit periodically beeps (every five to ten minutes) and the refrigerator freezer compartment continues to not freeze ice cream.I called for extended service and was told they would NOT come out to fix the problem because it was already repaired. After an hour with their extended service rep, they agreed to find another service company but said I may have to pay for the repair. I have had KitchenAid products in all three of my homes in the past. The quality of their products has changed - unfortunately for the worse. When they refuse to stand by their extended service contract, then its time to find another company. After reading several reviews on this refrigerator, I found that I am not the only one who has had this problem. Do yourself a favor, when you look at a KitchenAid product in a store, just walk on by. Save yourself a lot of aggravation!!!

We purchased a KUDE40 dishwasher in January of 2011 complete with stainless steel interior. The top rack glides keep popping open, letting the rack fall off. To make matters worse, the plastic wheels fell off the top adjustable rack due to the breaking of the plastic pieces that hold the wheels in place. Of course, this happened right after the year warranty was up. Luckily, I saved the service call and ordered the part online for $25 each and replaced the parts myself. Based on what I have read on other places on the internet, this is a problem for everyone and KitchenAid will do nothing about it. I will not buy another KitchenAid dishwasher and plan to tell as many people as I can not to buy one either.KitchenAid needs to listen to the public and fix this issue free of charge. If it happens to you, order the part online and carefully disassemble about 4 parts to replace the plastic piece with the wheels. A small screw driver to pop off the plastic parts was all that was needed and we used the other side as a guide to what goes where were putting it back together. Total time: about 15 minutes to replace one side. The part is the same for the right and left sides. Save yourself the service call!

In June, 2009, I did a complete kitchen remodel and installed all-KitchenAid appliances, including a side-by-side refrigerator model KSCS25MVMS which cost almost $2,500. I purchased a five-year extended warranty on all the appliances which, unfortunately, has now expired. I recently noticed water damage to the base of the cabinet surrounding the refrigerator and to the hardwood floor. I had an appliance repairman out and he determined that the water leak was the result of a crack in the evaporator drip pan under the refrigerator. He said he would order a replacement pan. A couple of days later he called to inform me that this part was no longer available. He said he could attempt to repair it, with no guaranty that the repair would be successful, or I could buy a new refrigerator. I think it is outrageous that a $2,500 6-year old refrigerator (which is otherwise working fine) is now rendered unusable because of the failure of a cheap plastic part that KitchenAid has discontinued. It sounds like KitchenAid is discontinuing parts availability in order to force people to buy new products. Well, all I can say is, if I end up having to buy a new refrigerator, it will most definitely NOT be a KitchenAid!!!

We purchased a KitchenAid SuperBa double oven KEBC207KSS05 a couple of years ago and have had it repaired 4 times already. Two times because the control panel went out because it got too hot the repair person said. The fan became very loud and we had to replace that and the fourth time was because the upper oven stopped working but the lower oven still worked. Since the fan was replaced, the oven still makes the control panel get too hot and everything totally shuts off. After it cools down, the panel comes back on. Cant bake anything over 375 degrees it appears, or it shuts off. One piece of advice from the repairman, besides not using the self clean is to cut a large rectangle out of the side of the cabinet and put a steel vent cover over the hole. I shouldnt have to cut a part my cabinet in order to have this crappy oven work better. The double oven we had in before the KitchenAid was a Kenmore from 1992 and still worked perfectly and never gave us a lick of trouble. Now we need to scrap this one and look to spend money that we shouldnt have to. Its so hard to believe that the workmanship at KitchenAid is so bad. Where is their pride?

With only 23 months of use, two of your KitchenAid products have failed. One, an Architect series refrigerator, quit and we were told the replacement part would not be available until January of 2020 (not typo). They had only 3 rebuilt computer control boards in the country and agreed to send one with a promise to return my bad one. Done. Now my Architect series oven/ microwave unit has been out since January of 2015. The service company they recommended has been out four times replacing parts they suggested and sent to them, with me only paying the service fees, and it still does not work. The tech department says they do not know how to fix it. They say to replace it. I have been offered a replacement for the small sum of $1,800 for a $3,650 unit I was able to use for 2 years and is not repairable now. It has an internal communication problem, code F6E0. Why would I buy another unit from a company that cannot repair what they sell. Take 5 minutes and Google error code F6E0, there are hundreds of complaints about the same code in all Whirlpool and KitchenAid brands and none have been repaired. Every appliance I have is KitchenAid, never will I buy another nor would I ever recommend them. I plan to post this notice everywhere I see KitchenAid or Whirlpool listed. Before anyone buys from Whirlpool or any of their brands, Google this error code first.
