I will never buy a KitchenAid appliance again. Our warranty just ran out and the fridge stopped working. We call certified repair and were told that the Tsunami had destroyed their plant and they no longer had the parts in order to repair the fridge. They told me they could rebuild the board but no guarantee would be given for the part and it would take anywhere from 2-3 months to rebuild. The fridge was 5 years and two months old. This is the worst customer service I have ever been given and the most rude responses by the executive offices. I will never - repeat never buy another appliance by KitchenAid or Whirlpool again. Buyer Beware!!!!

KDTE204ESS - 24 inch dishwasher - Looks Nice but is trash. Bought in 2017 and ripping it out in 2020. Bad Soap dispenser in 2017 - serviced and replaced. Not cleaning dishes in 2017 - serviced and cleaned spinners not fixed. Had to rinse/clean dishes before running because they were always still dirty if we didnt from 2017 until now. Leaking on floor from broken sensor seal now in 2020. Was told by repairman that the pump doesnt turn the spinner cleaners because the pump is weak and has no pressure. So 700$ to fix the dishwasher and no guarantee that it will work any better with same crappy pump.

We purchased two kitchenful of appliances, one was the Pro Series. Within a few months, the enamel on the KEBS208SSS top oven began to pit and chip away. KitchenAid sent out a new oven. We were happy. We should have known that this could potentially happen again. Meanwhile, the microwave computer board went out after the warranty date and it would have cost nearly as much as a new one to fix. The hood over the range has had issues with needing replacement bulbs, only to find out that this time the fuse connector was burnt. Too bad the warranty period is over and good luck, said the KA agent.Last week, I noticed that my replacement oven was showing pitting and wearing away of enamel once again (blue enamel). The KA agent was kind enough to tell me I was probably using it wrong and that I was supposed to clean up the large spills before running the cleaning cycle. I might add that a piece of the foil I used to line the rack for the large spills fell to the bottom of the oven and is now permanently attached to the enamel. I have not used the cleaning cycle in fear it will cause more damage. Again, the agent told us theres nothing KA can do and maybe search for an enamel repair kit and good luck with getting it resolved. I am shocked by KAs attitude and lack of support.

My husband and I purchased a KitchenAid dishwasher 2 years ago and had our first problem when we opened the dishwasher for the first time. The bracket holding the third shelf was broken. The dishwasher had already been installed so we could not return it without a lot of problem. KitchenAid sent out a technician and he replaced the part. The rack opened with much difficulty but he said he could do nothing about that. Over the next two years the dishwasher had a slow leak that was not detected until we noticed black mold growing over the side and front of our cabinet next to the dishwasher. We called kitchenAid and they sent another technician who informed us that the leak was a result of the replacement bracket being installed incorrectly. When we again called KitchenAid to rectify the problem that they caused we were informed that it was not their problem and we had to pay for the part as well as a large bill for labour. We are completely dissatisfied with KitchenAid and their total lack of support of their customers. I would never recommend a KitchenAid appliance to anyone. They do not back their product unless you are willing to pay again and again. As I have noticed on some of the other complaints filed with consumer affairs re: KitchenAid dishwashers, we also have noted a bad smell from the dishwasher if the door has been closed. I was unaware that it was the result of the dishwasher not having a fan motor. What an inferior product it truly is. Had we known we would never have spent so much money to purchase their product.

My parents purchased a KitchenAid refrigerator model number KRFF507ESS01 six months ago. In that time the ice maker has never worked correctly and it has been broken twice, causing them to throw all their food away. The first repair took 10 days. They are now waiting on the second repair and it has been 8 days and they cannot get anyone out here for another 9 days. They purchased a top of the line stove, microwave, and mixer at the same time. They spent a lot of money and the customer service is terrible. They have had to buy coolers and countless bags of ice to keep food in the house. I asked the customer service rep what they needed to do to have a new unit sent out. I was told, Nothing, your parents signed the extended warranty which states repair, it doesnt say replacement. Im sorry, but where on that warranty did it say that you were selling them a piece of crap? Very disappointed.

Since our purchase of the KitchenAid, model KSSC42QVS04, 42-inch built-in refrigerator, the ice bucket and dispenser freezes up and/or leaks. We called KitchenAid AND the retailers service departments. They came out and played with it for a while. The service tech basically said it was a design flaw and nothing could be done! KitchenAid and the retailer, Pacific Sales, owned by Best Buy, refused to do anything!! Weve purchased a $9000 lemon. Please never buy KitchenAid or shop at Pacific Sales... Youll be sorry!!! I will be filing a lawsuit against KitchenAid and Pacific Sales.

So I will start out by saying that I did not read the negative reviews before purchase. This was not my first oven purchase and should have done more homework. The all the positives were so POSITIVE! So, that being said, my oven is about 6 weeks old. Yesterday for the first time, I tried out the self-cleaning feature. It ran well for a few hours then completely went out. Nothing. I tried everything with the power and fuses but nothing. I have been trying to get someone to help me but I cant reach anyone. Sears repair wont touch it. I will call again on Monday to KitchenAid again. But seeing all of these poor reviews it is making me very nervous. I will have to say that this is a piece of junk. The glass on the inside is stained and gross. I will update this complaint again after KitchenAid gets back to me. But this is crazy. If consumer affairs knew about this problem with the fan and cleaning cycle, why is are they allowed to sell this crap? Class action, I want in. Should have never purchased a KitchenAid.

Purchased subject refrigerator in May, 2009 from Sears for $1,650. Over last several years several parts have fallen off - interior light cover, crisp cover, freezer drawer handle. Last week we came home from vacation to find temperatures in freezer compartment above 50 degrees and in refrigerator above 60 degrees. Probably $2-300 of food ruined.I scheduled service call through the KitchenAid website. Service rep came out, pulled refrigerator from the wall, pulled off the back panel, and announced that a copper cooling tube had cracked... leading to loss of refrigerant and failure of the compressor. As a KitchenAid authorized repair provider... he could get the ~$400 cost of the compressor covered under warranty. I would have to pay, however, $99 for service call plus another $650 for 2 hours of labor. The repair tech explained that a design flaw placed the copper tubing in the drain pan area exposing it to continual moisture and heat ultimately eroding the tube until it cracked. I dont think failure of the compressor at 8.5 yrs is reasonable. My appeal to KitchenAid fell on silent ears. In addition to the poor durability... I suspect there is some collusion between KitchenAid and the authorized repair service organizations. $650 seems excessive for 2 hours labor. Guess if I have to use an authorized service to get warranty coverage of the part I dont really have much choice.

Now the control board is going out and the cost is $140 plus $125 labor to fix it. Thats almost 50% of the cost of this JUNK. LOL we got rid a of a 20 year old dishwasher that worked perfect and got this. Man do we feel taken. KitchenAid will do nothing. I bought a KitchenAid refrigerator in August 2010 for $1,500. From the beginning, it was freezing items on my top back shelf and shooting ice cubes all over my freezer. At this time, I am facing a $350 bill to fix the problem that has escalated to freezing everything in my refrigerator. I have called KitchenAid many times on this to be told I should have bought the extended warranty on my $1,500, 2 1/2 year product from a company that I trusted. In addition to this, I have been getting rust on the door for years now. I am very disappointed and will never recommend KitchenAid!

Purchased a Kitchen Aid side-by-side refrigerator as part of a new home purchase. Everything was fine for the first year but then the lights in the refrigerator and freezer began going out. I called Kitchen Aid and they scheduled a service repair. Two lights were replaced (at no cost to me) and about 3 months later, the same issue came up again; no lights. Again I called Kitchen Aid and they sent out the same service repair company and they again replaced two lights (at no cost to me). Now, 4 months have passed and the lights are out again in both the refrigerator and freezer.I called Kitchen Aid a third time and they said the refrigerator was out of warranty and I was on my own even though they didnt fix the problem when it was under warranty. I believe the LED light panel needs to be replaced costing several hundred dollars. Kitchen Aid quality is average at best and I would recommend not purchasing their product. My refrigerator retails for about $10,000, model KBSD608ESS, so I would expect much better quality.

My KitchenAid oven sucks! This is now the 3rd time I have a problem with the self-cleaning upgrade in my oven. The thermostat fails with the heat of self-cleaning. This time, however, the main keypad is fried. Almost $500 just for the part, not counting labor and install. Thanks, KitchenAid, for delivering a product that is only successful in earning you more money! I could not be any more disappointed in their complete lack of responsibility in standing behind a product for which they make so much money. Brand new two years ago, and I continue to have mounting expenses for an appliance that was touted as being wonderful.

Kitchen Aid Wall Oven. Model #: KEBS109BSS00. Serial #: D23109017. This oven has been trouble since installing brand new October 2016 in our new home construction. Every year we have paid over $200 in repairs with blown thermal fuse, a new gasket, new fan, another thermal fuse, and now another thermal fuse. I have contacted Whirlpool/ Kitchen Aid and they do not stand behind their lemons. This is definitely a LEMON!. It is very SLOW to preheat. I can not use the full functionality of self-clean that we paid for due to blowing the fuse, and completely undependable. (MY OVEN WENT OUT ON THANKSGIVING MORNING!) To date, we have spent more on repairs than we paid for the wall oven. This is a complete disappointment! I would NEVER purchase another oven made by the company.

We bought a 29 cu. ft. French Door stainless refrigerator model KFIV29PCMS
We bought a 29 cu. ft. French Door stainless refrigerator model KFIV29PCMS in 2013. We had repairmen out three years in a row. Each time required several visits. The air tower, ice maker evaporator fan, two fresh food evaporators, valves, a compressor, and a UIn were all replaced. We were out of a refrigerator for 18 days one time and over a week this last time. On one visit they sent a repairman out only to say that he couldnt fix it as it is a closed system. Every time its something different. We have had frost on the top left shelves with water leaking into them, water coming out of the ice dispenser, ice building up on the freezer drawers, water on the floor, and it just quit working. Although we had insurance, it only paid $300 for spoiled food. We have lost more than that. It is always so inconvenient to schedule time for them to come, then reschedule when the part finally comes in. I have complained to Good Deals where we bought it. I dont think they should sell appliances with so many problems. I complained to KitchenAid but all they did was take my complaint. Needless to say I have complained to the repair place,Gulf Appliance. My old Sears refrigerator lasted 26 years without even a service call, and it was a fifth of the cost. I cant believe a company cannot do a better job making an appliance. Did they even test them before putting them on the market? Apparently not. I will never buy another KA fridge again. Our microwave, stove, and oven are all ok but I wonder if they too will go out soon.

First thing I did was google the problem and it looks like Im not the only one that has encountered this, and that is an understatement. There were literally hundreds of accounts of the same thing happening. I contacted Kitchenaid and they told me that there has not been a recall on my range (model KGSA906PSS00) and that there was no known problem...really?? Installed 2003. There is something defective about this VERY expensive refrigerator. It builds up ice on the back refrigerator wall rendering 2 bins useless since it freezes the fresh food. If I turn down the freezer temperature down, ice cream turns to mush, so that is not an option. I have contacted KitchenAid over this situation years ago and all they do is send out a contracted appliance company to troubleshoot. You are responsible for paying for the troubleshoot and since I am not on warranty, I must pay for repairs. After the appliance company charges exorbitant fees, they say it is a bad baffle, and a new one is installed. I have done this 2x now, and the problem is still there. I am living with the ice build up as replacing these built ins costs almost $10,000. I wish I had paid more at the time for a Subzero. I had one for 20 years and NEVER a problem.

We purchased our KitchenAid dishwasher in April 2012. During the 1st year, we had to replace the right upper dish assembly (the wheels), the door switch and control panel. Today we replaced the motor and pump assembly which was not covered by warranty! This cost us a dear $440.00 with the labour. We are just in the process of replacing the left upper rack assembly (warranty item). We replaced our original dishwasher (Kenmore) because of the colour and decided to get a KitchenAid because our other appliances are KitchenAid. This was a huge mistake. Kitchen-Aid model KUDE70FXSS4 - This dishwasher has a problem with the top rack that keeps rolling out when trying to load dishes into the bottom rack. I’m unable to adjust the level to allow the top drawer to stay in place because the rear of the washer has wheels and they have no height adjusters, and you cannot raise the front using the adjusters provided because it is as high as it can go, as the counter top will not allow further height adjustment.I noticed a part on the top drawer that connects to the water system for the top rack rotating spray wand had protruding plastic fingers that fit into female slots in the back of the washer. The fingers did not have any detents that would hold the rack in place. I added a detent to each finger, and now when you push the rack in, it locks it in place. They must have forgotten to include this in their design. If they would have provided adjusters on the back wheels, we could have lowered the back and the top rack would have stayed in position by gravity. However, I think the added detents to the fingers is a better solution as this locks the rack in place and gravity allows the rack to stay out when loading dishes. I hope this helps anyone else that has this same problem.

We purchased all new kitchen appliances last September, 2017. Bought KitchenAid mainly because my dishwasher just died after 27 years, so we were pleased with its quality. We bought the items in black stainless. The electric stove top is the hardest top I have ever cleaned, I am a little ocd and hate smear marks on my stove top, and also it seems that the only thing to use to get burnt on spots or food off, is an SOS pad, referred to me by the owner of the appliance store. Also the so called Aqua lift for cleaning the oven, even after doing it twice in a row, is a joke! Still had to go in and clean up the grease and burnt on stuff, and then soak up all the water!! Also when turning on the oven, it seems to take forever to heat up to your desired temperature. Very disappointed, and will never buy KitchenAid again!!!

We purchased our KitchenAid Dishwasher KUDE40FXSS1 5 years ago. Although it washes the dishes well, to date we have replaced an upper basket wheel mechanism 6 times and now ALL of the wheels on the lower basket have broken due to being brittle from the high temperatures required to clean the dishes. We are so disappointed in the CHEAP plastic used inside the dishwasher! The last time we replaced one of the upper mechanisms, the part came with some metal pieces. Brilliant! Why didnt they think of this is the beginning? So far, it is working well! We are now in the process of replacing the lower wheel mechanisms - all four of them. Until those parts arrive, we have to delicately pull out and push in the lower basket or the wheels fall off. Thank goodness we can replace the parts ourselves. I feel sorry for the people who have to get a repairman in. The cost to us has been substantial, I cant imagine what it might cost to pay someone to fix it! I will never buy another KitchenAid Dishwasher and I tell anyone who asks to never get one either!

4 years ago when we built our new home, we bought a high end KitchenAid dishwasher - retailed at $1800. The big attraction was how quiet it was supposed to be - and it is. However, in the past 8 months the control panel has gone out THREE times! At $150 for the part, and another $150 for service call and labor to replace it, it has reached the point of absurdity. The cycle times are also erratic. Sometimes it will take 4 hours! to go through a normal wash cycle, and others maybe 2. It has seemed to clean well, and it is quiet. But... the ridiculous lack of dependability makes KitchenAid no longer a desirable product.

We replaced our old dishwasher with a KitchenAid one hoping to have a long-lasting efficient one that would really clean our dishes well. We have had several repairs from Best Buy where the dishwasher was purchased. Our problems started six months after purchase and are as follows: First, the heated dry function does not come on with normal cycle. Second, the on-hour wash cycle does not clean well at all, so we can only use the longer cycles which are more time-consuming. We have replaced the racks three times. KitchenAid was contacted and they feel Best Buy should take responsibility for the machine while Best Buy held Whirlpool responsible. We did not purchase the extended warranty on the faith that KitchenAid is a good brand with a quality product. We will not purchase a Whirlpool or KitchenAid product in the future.

I never even thought to check consumer reports before we bought because I knew (ha!) that KitchenAid appliances were the top of the line, had an excellent reputation, and felt so lucky that I could financially buy such an excellent set of ovens for the first time in my life. Boy was I ever wrong.I wont go through the litany of issues we have had but they are similar to the rest of the complaints and issues stated previously. We had a Warranty with Sears which has now run out. I have to say the serviceman who does the warranty work for Sears was wonderful and I have no issues with him but, he also disclosed problems with several similar ovens. One easy fix: we have had issues with the door hinges/springs deteriorating and the doors not fully closing, hence the oven not warming. A quick fix is to buy two approximately 1 diameter rare earth magnets and place them on the sides of the door about 3 down from the top so as not to affect the electronic panel. They will keep your door tightly closed.I too, would join in any class action suit against KitchenAid/Whirlpool and will continue to badmouth the company at every opportunity until they had the decency to admit publicly that there are problems with these ovens and offer to repair them free of charge. Thanks for the platform to speak up.

Design problems: Veggie & meat bins difficult to remove to wash as fridge door hinges don’t open far enough; ice bin jams, mechanism is frozen in place & won’t dispense, warm water must be poured in to release it, making a huge wet mess; front panels on both freezer pull-out baskets fall off dumping items on kitchen floor; very poor insulation - outside of fridge is always cold. Would not buy a KitchenAid again.

I purchased refrigerator on 11/24/15 but due to salesman errors, I did not receive it until February 2, 2016. On July 26, 2016, I noticed the freezer door had ice on it and it had a popping noise in it. I called and serviceman came out and said he had to order new ice maker and replace the door because it had warped and he could not do anything about the popping noise. On October 3, 2016, the door and ice maker was replaced. On October 27, 2017, the door had ice on it again and noise was still there. I had a certified repairman come in and he said the freezer door on refrigerator is warped again. There has to be some reason for this to be continuing! I am not a HAPPY CUSTOMER.

About 4 years ago, I bought a top of the line Kitchen Aid dishwasher. I paid nearly $1,000 for it. I figured if I bought the best, that I wouldnt need to replace it for many years, since my aunt had 20 year old Kitchen Aid appliances, and they still worked like new. Everything was fine for a few months, then I noticed that its not as quiet as it was. Then if I didnt thoroughly rinse my dishes off, to the point of pre-washing them, there would be stuck food that was nearly impossible to remove. After doing the thorough pre-rinsing things, were fine for a while. The noise got louder. It got to the point that we would only run it a night, because of the noise. We looked into our warranty, and it had just expired, and knew that we couldnt do much about it. About a week ago, the noise was so bad that we honestly thought it would explode. We didnt touch it for a few days, for fear of explosion. Last night, we thought to run it through with a light cycle. We could hear the water filling, but after that, we couldnt hear anything. It sounded like it wanted to work, but it was stuck. We turned it off, and now its a glorified dish rack. Im replacing all my Kitchen Aid appliances with LG, because I know it wont fall apart.

My house burned Oct 17, 2011. We rebuilt it and put in all new KitchenAid appliances. I was so excited to have something new, pretty, economical and what Id always thought was a top of the line brand. Boy was I wrong. I have had 4 cabinet depth side by side refrigerators from March 2012 to May 2012. None of them have worked. Feb 5, 2015 my ice maker quit. I paid the serviceman for a brand new one. It didnt produce ice at all for 5-6 days. I got up the 6th day and both fridge and freezer were hot. Lost all my food. The serviceman replaced the compressor on 2-26-15. It worked great for a day. I get up yesterday am and lost my food once again. Fridge and freezer are both hot and not working. Id like to add we have had problems with our dishwasher and double oven thermostat. All products are lemons. Very dissatisfied.

In our conversion to stainless steel we decided on KitchenAid. We got a bundle deal and purchase three appliances from Lowes and, though I normally never do, I purchased the extended warranty. The microwave (MODEL # KCMS1655BSS) quit working within the first year, still under factory warranty. They brought a new one and out of the box, it did not work! They brought another one and it is still working. Shortly after the first year the oven (MODEL # KEBS179BSS00) was not able to consistently get over 400 degrees. After about 6 service calls and replacing two circuit boards and a temp sensor, it appears to be fixed. The problem is, anytime a part is needed to be replaced, it takes at least 2 service calls. The first one to troubleshoot the problem and say, you need a new (part), and then they order it and the second one to install the part. Jump forward a couple months and the refrigerator (MODEL # KFIS29PBMS00) stops making ice. This problem actually started while we were still dealing with the oven problems! I called in the fridge and before the tech even came out, I realized that it was a cooling problem as my ice cream turned to soup. I called Lowes extended warranty and let them know the problem was not the ice maker but a cooling problem. The tech still came out to troubleshoot the ice maker. I pointed out the problem was cooling, showing him the item in the freezer that were thawing. What does he do, order a new ice maker. After probably a dozen service calls and several replaced parts, I told them I wanted my money back. Reading the extended warranty from Lowes, it says that if the appliance is repaired three times for the same problem that they will buy it back from you. They cut me a check for my purchase price and I went to Home Depot and bought a new Fridge, GE this time. I was very unhappy with KitchenAid and very unhappy with Lowes service techs. I was an electronics tech in the Air Force and I was doing better at troubleshooting this problem than these people were. They were so clueless. Warning, KitchenAid and Whirlpool are the same thing! I will say that the extended warranty served it purpose and we did not have to spend a dime on any of these service calls, that is good. But for the three appliances there were probably 23 service calls in less than 2 years! Those are all days that I have to be home between 8 and 1 or 1 and 5. I always pick the earlier time slot. The vast majority of the time I would get a call around 12:50 letting me know they were on the way. They usually showed up well after 1:00, closer to 2:00, not leaving until 3 or later. My day is shot at that point. Thats 23 days of my life I sat in my house waiting for a service technician in just 2 years.

I looked and looked at gas ranges - I was very excited to be able to use gas again. I selected this Kitchen Aid stove and was not told that the central oval burner, which I paid extra to have, would not provide more than a low flame. You buy the whole 5th unit for just pancakes only! The self-cleaning oven will not clean the sides of the oven, only the pan over the burner. The little top oven is meant only for warming, not baking or cooking because it cooks so unevenly that toast, food and cookies are done on the glass side and burned on the back side. I have had KA service people out twice and they say that thats the way it is and that it registers 350 degrees when checked. I could have bought an oven for less than 1/2 and had a better oven. Its not the company that produced my 30-yr-old KA mixer, is it?

We bought a KitchenAid gas range in 2010. When I used the self cleaning mode my display went black and my oven was locked. We called manufacture while it was still under their warranty. They sent a repairman out and he replaced the circuit board. Now 2015 we have a reoccurring problem. Used self cleaning again. Oven locked. We bought an extended service plus warranty on Jan 9th 2015. Today on Jan 27th we are told that they will gladly refund us our money on the service plan even though it was stated in their warranty if its an electrical issue or mechanical they will replace it if it cant be fixed. Well they have stated its gonna cost more in parts for a 5 yr old stove. Well if they would of fixed the problem back in 2010 would I still be having this problem today in 2015. Seems to me there is a issue in the manufacturing of this range.

I got the Kitchenaid fridge two years ago and this fridge has costed me more than 600 dollars now. My fridge stopped cooling and I called an guy to fix it. Then few weeks later it stopped cooling again so I called in another outside guy and he fixed it. Now it broke down again so this time I call the KitchenAid repair guy. He tells me that the computer has been messed up and it need to be replaced and ya its not covered under warranty. Its been not even 17 months and the computer has broke down. What a marketing hype it has created in market. I dont think you guys should make the same mistake.

Bought this range 3 1/2 years ago and it worked fine until last Friday when it exploded in my face, burning my forearm. Shards of the glass top hit me in the face drawing blood. Fortunately, nothing in the kitchen caught fire and I didnt lose an eye. After two phone calls and more than an hour on the phone with two KitchenAid representatives, they declined to have a repair person come out to evaluate the damage and make a determination of whether it should be replaced or not. After I called around to find someone who could replace the product at our own expense, we found out that KitchenAid does not pay service people for warranty work so nobody in our area would come out to see it unless we paid them ourselves--which we are now going to do.From close examination of the damage, our best guess is there was an internal gas leak within the unit that ignited by the burners ignition spark as I began to prepare a meal, causing an explosion that burned my arm and shattered the glass top, sending shards of glass more than 30 feet. Please keep your family safe! Do not purchase this dangerous product. And, consider avoiding all KitchenAid products if you want them to deal fairly with you. We will take our business elsewhere.

I bought the fridge last November (2013) and the freezer has quit working. I am so sick of the quality of American products! I also purchased a KitchenAid dishwasher and the pump went out on it within the first 6 months. I am single and run it MAYBE once a week. When it came time to purchase a gas range I decided to ditch the so called American made KitchenAid brand and go with the Bertazzoni (Italian manufacturer, family business-6 generations strong). NO WAY was I going to purchase yet another KitchenAid that would need repair within the first year. In hindsight I wish I would have purchased a Bosch dishwasher and did more research on refrigerators. I would NOT recommend ANY Kitchen Aid product!!!!!!!!

I have 10+ yr old KitchenAid Superba double ovens. I was baking cookies at 350 degrees in top oven. I took one tray out after 7 minutes and cookies on top were burnt. Door locked itself before I was able to move other cookie trays around. Smoke in oven and perhaps oven fan not working. We turned the wall breaker on and off several times to restart the electronics, which seemed to indicate fan was working when electricity was on. After an hour of oven smoking, refusing to open and oven message of too hot, flames were seen through the door, like a smoldering fireplace. I ended up calling 911 for oven fire. After trying to open the door and let smoke out, the appliance cooled down apparently while firemen were in the kitchen so that the flames dissipated and door would open. Apparently, the flames were from the cookies igniting.

I bought my french door bottom mount refrigerator in 2013. I have started having issues with the freezer and ice maker. The technician who came to check the fridge told me that this is a very common problem with KitchenAid. We have to pay $390.00 for labor and if the parts are not covered in extended warranty pay for that too. Our extended warranty ran out in 2018. We were also told that the dye leaks and it will have to be replaced every 4 or 6 months. I am annoyed at the expense this fridge is going to cost us. I called the appliance pros for KitchenAid and they did not help in any way. They are very rude and nobody knows anything there. They went on telling me, “We dont know how things work in Canada.” Well why then are you selling appliances in Canada. They know how to give customers a runaround and beat about the bush. I would not recommend this fridge to anybody. Please buy a fridge by a company which stands behind its product.

Kitchenaid Oven Model # KEBC177K5503: This was the second time it quit working after using the self-clean feature. We paid to have it fixed the first time but called KitchenAid the second time. After seeing all the other complaints, we thought they would at least send out a DIY kit to replace thermo piece that keeps the oven from working. They would only charge me for a service call and then any necessary parts. Their reasoning is that they wont fix something that hasnt been recalled but who has the authority to recall the defective ovens? KitchenAid! I will never, ever purchase any KitchenAid product again! I have owned a KitchenAid Gas Range/Convection Oven KGSA906PSS for several years. I attempted to use the self-clean feature for the first time ever yesterday. I wished I had searched for KitchenAid complaints on this website first. Apparently, I am one of many who has burned up the oven control panel by merely using a feature of the oven. How is this possible that there is no recall or product support from KitchenAid for such a common problem and obvious product defect? I called KitchenAid and as you can guess from their low ratings on this and other sites. They were zero help and I got the impression they could care less if any of us ever buy a KitchenAid product again. They should be happy to know that I in fact would never buy another KitchenAid product or recommend that anyone else ever does. The repair (punishment) cost is estimated at $600. This is a repair for attempting to use the oven clean feature one time. One of the features we looked for on an oven although for some reason (thankfully) we didnt use. This represents a full 45 percent of the ovens purchase price and yet KitchenAid has no assistance or comment. Good Job, KitchenAid. I hope this experience helps somebody make a wiser purchase decision.

Now it is Christmas Eve and the refrigerator is not cooling. I am having 22 people to dinner on Christmas. The repair man came and told me that it needs a new compressor. I know that the CEO Jeff Fettic wouldnt want the repaired defective refrigerator either! So then I asked KitchenAid to find a compressor and install it so I can host the XMAS dinner. I was told that is not possible. Best they could do was overnight it and since tomorrow is Christmas, the part would not be shipped until Thursday. KitchenAid is not only ruining my Christmas dinner but it sounds like I wont have a working refrigerator for a while. Not even sure if they really are having the part overnighted. Bottom line.... KitchenAid does not care about a customer once you buy their products. No effort on their part, no matter what the circumstances! I am up the creek regarding my Christmas Dinner and they dont give a damn. Additionally, KitchenAid doesnt want to replace the refrigerator because they will get more money for all the parts the defective unit will need in the future. Or maybe I will buy an extended warranty! Do not buy KitchenAid. It is now December 27th and I still do not have a working refrigerator!

We installed our KitchenAid Refrigerator model #KFXS25RYBLO in February 2015. Within 6 months the ice maker stopped making ice. The repairman told us it needed to be replaced and that he has had to replace EVERY KitchenAid ice maker from that model. Next 1 year later the hose froze up and had to be replaced. The repairman explained that it was a new and improved hose that once again KitchenAid replaced. Then 1 year later the bottom freezer froze up. Once again another repair. Then today March 2018 the ice machine is AGAIN not making ice and after troubleshooting the repairman now says we need a new ice maker. This is the WORST refrigerator that we have had in our 41 year marriage!

Purchased dishwasher and had it professionally installed 4/16/2013. 9/13/2015 unit stopped working. Called Home Warranty Company who sent out repairman and diagnosed problem as bad Electronic Control and Console Assembly. Repairman called back and advised that items were covered under second through fifth year warranty by manufacturer. Contacted KitchenAid 9/14/15 and appointment for their repairman was scheduled for 9/24/2015. At time KitchenAid was notified, I advised the parts that we were told were required.9/24/2015 KitchenAid repairman came and confirmed that electronic control was bad and needed replacement. He subsequent, 9/28/2015 returned and replaced electronic control and then confirmed that user interface was bad and needed replacement however, that was not covered under the warranty because, even though it is the electronic interface between the user and the electronic control, it was not considered an electronic control. My opinion is that seeing as it is a set of electronic pressure switches, connected to the electronic control by wires, it is an electronic control.9/28/15, I contacted KitchenAid and was curtly informed that it is not a covered part and that I could purchase it if I wanted. I am now back with the initial Home Warranty Company to determine if they will obtain and install the required part.

As I read through the other reviews, I see that I am one of many dissatisfied customers. I purchased all KitchenAid appliances for my new home almost 5yrs ago. The refrigerator started giving me problems several months ago. Both the freezer & the refrigerator stopped working. A repairman has been out at least 8 or 9 times. It will work for a few weeks & then stop. The repairman keeps coming back over & over & its still not working properly. Ive contacted KitchenAid & their solution is to have another serviceman come out & we have to pay for labor a 2nd time or they can give me 40-50% off on another refrigerator. I thought the life of a refrigerator should be a lot longer than 5 yrs. My last refrigerator, a Kenmore was still working after 20 yrs. I am highly disappointed in KitchenAid for selling me a LEMON. Stay away from KitchenAid Appliances.

Bought the micro/hood 3 years ago and have had nothing but problems with the micro. Starts beeping and the micro has started on its own. I think it is a safety hazard and will start a fire. Have put it on a power bar and turn it off when we are not home and at night. Had the controls switched out twice now to no avail as it still happens. Kitchenaid is sending their repair man again (Sears repair twice) and now Kitchenaid repair man twice. Both could not find the problem. Tired and scared of this darn microwave and want it replaced and out of my house before something terrible happens.

We have a Kitchenaid KUDI01FLSS2 dishwasher. It came with the house we purchased six years ago - the unit was about 1 year old at the time. We have had constant problems: touch panel failed ($200), control board failed ($250), heater element failed which required a heater control board upgrade (design defect) ($250), chopper failed three times ($30 ea), door hinges failed, numerous plastic interior parts failed (all are overpriced), the door latch has a fundamental design problem (we have to use a clamp to keep the door from popping open in cycle). I am an engineer and was able to do all the repairs myself which saved hundreds of additional dollars. The dishwasher is a $1000 piece of junk. I would have scrapped in early on if I had only known!

I called the corporate office, and I could buy another 1-year warranty for $300+, or buy the buttons for $75 and the control panel for $75 and replace them myself. French Door Refrigerator - KRFC300ESS. I should have read reviews about KitchenAid appliances before I purchased one. Please read this review and be careful when selecting your appliances and also check the warranty and service for these appliances. I purchased the refrigerator in October, 2016. In August, 2017, the freezer stopped working so all the food I had there I had to take out and consume or keep it in an ice box with ice. The refrigerator part also did not work - the temperature was +12C. I called Whirlpool (they are responsible for KitchenAid) and I was told that they will send out a technician. The technician came on August 23 but said he needs to order the part. The part came and the technician changed it on August 30. The freezer worked but the refrigerator didnt. I called back customers centre at Whirlpool and they sent out the technician again on September 1. The problem still was not fixed and the repair guy came back on September 13 and said he has to order another part. The part which was ordered was a wrong part so it had to be re-ordered and the 2nd order came on September 27th. After that call the refrigerator worked but then it started to freeze stuff. Once again the technician came on October 16 and said he has to order another part, on October 24 he installed it.Yesterday I discovered that my fresh basil, lettuce were frozen. Again. I called the Whirlpool and they will be sending out the technician again (I think this guy can moved in with my family- he has been here so many times). Luckily I purchased extended warranty. Be prepared when you call the service centre to be put on hold - today I was on the phone with them for over 1 hour. I BOUGHT A LEMON!!! IF I KNEW THAT I WOULD HAVE SUCH A PROBLEM WITH KITCHENAID I WOULD HAVE NEVER PURCHASED IT. How many times will it take to fix this lemon! Obviously there is something wrong with this unit.

We bought all new appliances 4 years ago. The salesman at the appliance store said KitchenAid was the best. Well apparently he must get a kickback from them because nothing could be further from the truth. In fact the KF1S29BBMS00 french door refrigerator actually sucks! Shortly after we had it the freezer stopped freezing. At least this was covered by a recall. Now, the unit is 4 years old, the ice maker stops working. We called the repair place and they came out and very cavalierly said, Oh yeah there is a service bulletin on this. You need an add on kit to stop the unit from freezing up.OK to my thinking service bulletin is an admission of wrongdoing. Poor design in the first place. So since the unit is out of warranty and we chose not to pay for a ripoff extended warranty we have to pay over $430 to fix what was not designed right in the first place! How can this be our fault? Why would we need a warranty to cover a design flaw? Now while waiting for the repair person to come back with the part that they had to order the drawer in the freezer will not freeze. The lower main compartment is fine but the door will not freeze. DO NOT BUY A KITCHENAID APPLIANCE. Their poor design and engineering becomes your problem.

We purchased a KitchenAid dishwasher after our Maytag Dishwasher died after 5 years. I was leery about buying another Whirlpool product but the reviews were good and it was bigger than the comparable Bosch dishwasher. The dishwasher does NOT clean the dishes. We have had 2 techs out (1 from the store, 1 from Whirlpool), taken 2 days off, bought 4 different types of detergent, tried each suggestion that was made (use powder, use pods, run hot water, dont run hot water, dont rinse the dishes before putting them in...) and NOTHING works. I have called Whirlpool and the reps are civil but not sympathetic and keep repeating suggestions that have already been tried. I will never purchase a Whirlpool product again. BUYER BEWARE!

After researching many brands we decided to go with a friend’s recommendation for a KitchenAid gas range. After owning it for a few months now we’re very disappointed with the wear & tear. It was delivered with the side dented, which given our timely need, we decided to live with as it’s mostly hidden. We have found however that cleaning the stove top is very difficult (heavy pieces to remove and place back) and the stainless steel surface scratches and scuffs way too easily. If you’re a tidy person like me this will drive you nuts so proceed carefully with this one! After a few months it’s already starting to look worn in.

Kitchen Aid refuses to stand by their recommended third party service organization (whom they have since fired) and allows them to sell the customer (me) an extended warranty which both the since-fired service organization (A&E Factory Service) and KitchenAid refuse to honor.

Until now, Kitchenaid has been our choice in kitchen appliances. Two weeks ago, our Kitchenaid flooded our kitchen and four rooms in our basement. Obviously the Overflow protection float which was not impeded in any way, didnt work. Now the kitchen hardwood floor is being ripped out and replaced. Walls and ceilings have been repaired downstairs. Even the electrical system between the walls was damaged and had to be fixed. I called and spoke to a customer service representative and just wanted some answers. It is very apparent Kitchenaid doesnt care. I am so disappointed in this company and will never purchase from them again. The most expensive dishwasher.... Thousands of dollars for repairs!

We remodeled our kitchen in 2014 and purchased a KFIS29PBMS03. It immediately started frosting up in the freezer on the left side and ice and water would form below the ice maker and drip into main fridge. After three service visits the dealer replaced the unit. Again the same process happened again with multiple services and updates. Our dealer, Fergurson had another unit shipped out and installed that supposedly had been updated and fixed of these two issues. The third unit is actually worse with the frosting up and the drips and icing is about the same under the ice machine as the two others. Whats disturbing is the last service guy did order a new freezer door and gaskets but stated all these units do this and yours is not bad enough to fix as of now, but they do have another update to the top of fridge. I have ask just to refund my money and come get this jewel of design. The many days of scheduling services and deliveries and exchanges has become extremely time consuming and expensive.

I waited many years to finally get my KitchenAid appliances. I purchased them at Sears and I even bought the Premium service agreement. For unknown reasons, my refrigerator doors began to rust (I have pictures and would be happy to send them). There is no apparent leak or reason for this rust. When I contacted my service agreement, of course, they told me doors arent covered. I was told the only thing I can do is buy new doors. I would gladly do that if the damage was the result of neglect on my part. The refrigerator was purchased 11-02-99. I realize it is 13 years old but my last refrigerator was 25 years old when I gave it away (still running perfect and no damage - Kenmore). Since I have not received satisfaction about repairs, I have decided to keep my refrigerator as is. I make it a point to show it to everyone that comes to my home and telling them about how KitchenAid stands behind their product lines. Rest assured I will never purchase another KitchenAid anything. As much as it is embarrassing to have this in my kitchen, I feel spreading the word is more important.

Bought a KitchenAid model # kffs20EYBL00 in 2012. This refrigerator has given me nothing but grief since 2012. I bought an extended warranty on this refrigerator and glad I did, have had to use it numerous times. The back of the freezer will freeze up, makes this running noise that sounds like a motor is running and the upper refrigerator isnt as cold as it should be. They have had to repair this 5 times in 2012 to 2013. 2014 and 2015 probably 2 times and now 2016 we are getting repaired once again. I am very frustrated with this refrigerator. I not only have had issues with the freezer, but the shelving in this refrigerator is junk.I have had two shelves break so far. Its just junk! I dont recommend KitchenAid anymore. Maybe in the 80 and 90s this was a good brand but not any longer. Looking at buying a new one, hate too since this one cost me of $1600.00 and 4 yrs of grief. Stay away from KitchenAid and Whirlpool. They are made by same company from what I have been told by companies I am looking at for a new refrigerator!

I am extremely disappointed and disgusted with KitchenAids failure to stand by their product. I purchased a $3000 stainless steel fridge last year and my fridge is still under warranty, but because the rust is cosmetic, KitchenAid feels no obligation to stand by their expensive stainless steel product and Ive been told that it is rust resistant, but not rust proof. They say all stainless steel can rust in certain environments. I have only used soap and water and never used a stainless steel cleaner or corrosive or abrasive product on the fridge and it is in my newly built and dry house. It is under a year old and I wonder what itll look like in another year. Kitchenaid offered me the opportunity to extend my warranty for hundreds of dollars, but offered no repair or replacement of the rusting door panel I called them about. What kind of stainless steel exists? Low-quality stainless steel with impurities. My stainless steel Bosch range hasnt started rusting and I clean it constantly with various cleaners. Clearly KitchenAids product is inferior and low quality.

Following Mr. **’s purchases of these appliances, all stainless steel Whirlpool branded appliances, rust quickly formed on the stainless steel facades. Mr. ** first reported the rust-damage to Tri-City Sales (262 Highland Avenue, Salem MA 01970) in July 2012. Tri-City arranged for L.A.R. Appliance Service (103 Albion Street, Wakefield, MA) to visit on 01/08/12 and inspect the appliances. (Apparently L.A.R. is subcontracted by Whirlpool to do local service visits.) The L.A.R. service technician told Mr. ** and his wife that he would order a complimentary replacement door for the range. However, upon noticing that multiple appliance doors had rust damage and were in need of replacement, the technician telephoned his office for advice, and was in turn referred by telephone to Whirlpool’s corporate representative who instructed him to refuse repair/replacement of Mr. **’s rusted new appliances. The L.A.R. tech informed Mr. ** that Whirlpool instructed that because the damage was cosmetic, it would be denied warranty coverage. He thereafter gave Mr. ** Whirlpool’s customer service telephone number, 800-422-1230. Mr. ** called the number immediately. After an extended wait, an incoming telephone call handler answered. Mr. ** explained that he had purchased these appliances to furnish a new kitchen and had simultaneously purchased a washer and dryer also manufactured by Whirlpool, which had a white rather than stainless finish and had sustained no such similar damage. Mr. ** stated that apart from the function of the appliance, the stainless finish was an aesthetic part of the design and therefore an integral part of the product which had failed by rusting. Mr. ** received in return a long winded reply amounting to a nominal apology, thanks for the feedback, and a statement that the rust damage is not Whirlpool’s problem and that all warranty coverage of this issue would be denied and Whirlpool would do nothing to cure Mr. **’s dissatisfaction.Mr. ** asked to speak with a supervisor, and was eventually transferred to one. The supervisor suggested a special “cleaner” that replaced “the lost oil” (to which he apparently by analysis over the telephone attributed the rust damage) and stated that provision of this cleaner is all Whirlpool is willing to do to address Mr. **’s concern about his new rusted appliances. Mr. ** explained that if oil had indeed been lost, and so rust damage was commenced, then the products were defective. Mr. ** rejected the customer service supervisor’s offer of a bottle of cleaner to repair his $6,000+ worth of rusted appliances, repeated his points of concern, and made a plea of his loyalty to the Whirlpool brand and requested that the company’s customer service team answer his concerns, and resolve this matter amicably. The supervisor again rejected his pleas but this time curiously modified the rejection with “at this point.”It is not clear what point Mr. ** has to get to in order for Whirlpool and/or KitchenAid to agree that it is not reasonable to expect customers to endure a home full of rusted appliances approximately half a year after new purchase. However, at this point, Mr. ** is disappointed that the warranty for these items has been repudiated and that KitchenAid/Whirlpool refuse to stand behind their products. While Mr. ** and his family were willing at the time of the service visit and telephone calls to accept replacement of the doors to these appliances (perhaps with a facade other than Whirlpool’s stainless steel), due to the stonewalling the company has subjected him to, he has retained me to defend his rights in this matter.Mr. ** did not receive any clear and conspicuous warning prior to purchase of these expensive appliances of an obvious substantial risk of rust damage to Stainless Whirlpool appliances. Nor are any such warnings included in advertisements for Whirlpool Stainless steel appliances. Were any such warnings made clear to Mr. **, he would not have made these expensive purchases. Accordingly, KitchenAid/Whirlpool’s policy regarding the concealment of the significant risk of rust damage (of which service technicians and customer service representatives have clearly been aware) constitutes a deceptive trade practice. In KitchenAid/Whirlpool’s failure to honor it’s warranty or to reasonably address Mr. **’s concerns, the company has committed breaches of warranty, the federal Magnusson-Moss Warranty Act, the Uniform Commercial Code, Massachusetts’ lemon law, and unfair business practices and other consumer protection laws. Accordingly, Mr. ** demands that his appliances be repurchased. Besides being sent directly to you, this letter is being submitted to the Better Business Bureau and to other Consumer Protection sites. Additionally, if swift action is not taken to repurchase these appliances, Mr. ** has instructed me to take all action necessary to enforce his rights including without limitation the filing of a lawsuit. Should this action become necessary, I will seek on Mr. **’s behalf all rights and remedy’s afforded to him by the law, including the payment of attorney’s fees and civil penalties for willful violation of consumer protection laws as may be appropriate. We hope for a swift resolution of this matter without the need to enforce the law and ask for a response to this claim within the next fifteen (15) days.

Not to mention that the glass top is made from some horrible material and it is very difficult to clean! And one area of glass is already chipped off!! I bought it in June 2016 four month ago! I purchased a KitchenAid refrigerator in April 2012 for $$$. So you know I had a Kenmore for 22 years that this KitchenAid was replacing and I actually sold the Kenmore for $50 because it still worked perfectly. I figured KitchenAid was a top of the line appliance. Ice maker went out within 13 months and after several calls I got them to cover parts and labor to fix it, but thats not the complaint here. Fast forward to 2016. In May 2016 the whole unit shut down and after several calls into CS found out it was my sealed system that went out and it was covered. It took a while to get my money back though. The day before Christmas 2016 my refrigerator went out. Long story short, I called the authorized KA service provider to come back out and they told me it would $450 to repair (again, 3rd major repair in 4 1/2 years while the 2nd major repair in 2016). After receiving the estimate I called KitchenAid CS to talk to them about this but their systems were down and couldnt help me and told me to call back the next day. Not thinking because I had a house full of kids on Christmas break from college I figured I would call back once I got back to work this week. Once I got a hold of someone from KA she told me KA would cover the parts only which I was ok with. She told me she would call the authorized repair company and get it worked out. I told her I already had it repaired because I had gone a week without a refrigerator anyway. KitchenAid wont reimburse a customer, just an authorized repair company. What a piece of ** company. Every time I contact KA they tell me the same thing. Appliances are meant to last forever and they never promised me that. I have another 20 year old GE refrigerator in my garage thats worked perfectly that whole time and I spent like $500 on it. This was my first and MY LAST KitchenAid/Whirlpool purchase.

On March 25th 2015, our carbon monoxide detector went off. The local fire department came and they determined that the source of the carbon monoxide leak was our Kitchen Aid slide in range-oven. They supplied a report that outlined this. They shut off the propane supply and pulled range out of position and said we could not use this appliance until problem was fixed. We notified Kitchen Aid customer service on 03/26/15 (appliance under mfg warranty), and explained the situation. This issue was passed on to their safety department. The safety department did not respond to us until 03/27, and they explained that they needed a carbon monoxide meter to service our appliance, which they did not have available. We have been in contact with them every day since the incident happened, and we still do not have an appointment from service department to resolve our issue. The excuse everyday is that they are waiting for carbon monoxide meter to come back to them from the field to send to our local appliance repair center, and in turn to come to our home. This is not acceptable, and we need to help, now, to resolve this issue.

I purchased a KitchenAid stove in 2006. In 2008, the electrical panel needed to be replaced. The electrical panel again has once again failed me, and the company says Im on my own because the warranty for electric has expired and it’s not a quality issue. First off, this is an ongoing problem with the electrical panel which is an obvious quality issue. Also, there is a slight bend on the front of the stove which causes water to seep in and destroy the panel over time. KitchenAid customer service could care less and left me hanging out to dry. I will never buy a KitchenAid product again and I highly advice anyone interested in this product to stay as far away as possible. This company which is actual Whirlpool doesnt stand by its product in my opinion. They need to take customer service lessons from Apple and Dyson. What a terrible experience I have had.

I purchased a KitchenAid French door refrigerator with a bottom freezer. It is now 3 years old. It began to leak so I called for service from the place where I purchased the refrigerator. The repair man immediately told me this was a problem caused by a faulty drain and KitchenAid was replacing the parts free of charge however they wouldnt cover the service charge. I am sure the part which is just a drain costs almost nothing but I will have to pay a huge service charge. When I spoke to KitchenAid I asked why I wasnt notified that there was a defective part before the warranty ran out so that the service would have been covered. The response was simply, We dont do that. Their faulty manufacturing is costing me a lot of money. This is the last KitchenAid appliance I will buy.
