We purchased this model of KitchenAid wall oven from a Portland OR applianc
We purchased this model of KitchenAid wall oven from a Portland OR appliance company (Sept. 19, 2019). After the new oven was installed it quit. The were kind enough to replace the oven with another new oven. That oven also had the same problem and KitchenAid had repairmen come out for months replacing parts to no avail. Finally they replaced our oven with another new oven on 12/3/19-, (Our 3rd wall oven installed, same model) This oven quit on Christmas Eve. Now it is working intermittently and KitchenAid will not refund our money; will not waive the fee charged by the repairman if the oven is not acting up at the time they are here to service it. I am very unhappy with the wall oven and with KitchenAid customer support. Beware. Go to another brand.

We purchased a floor freezer to save what we could while KA tried to repair the problems. When the issues continued, we convinced KA to refund our money and they came and took the horrible thing away.

There are many issues with KitchenAid dishwashers manufactures with the past three years and KitchenAid DOES NOT stand behind their products. My mother had the motor leak on hers after three years of light usage. I’ve had to wash dishes by hand due to its inability of dispersing water after 2.5 years of normal use. KitchenAid only offers to replace parts but wants the consumer to pay for labor, as well as house calls to fix a very faulty product. My adjustable top rack also broke at 2 years. This is a shame when people pay close to a grand expecting a quality product that should be reliable for longer than 2-3 years. My 20 year old dishwasher was far more reliable than this overpriced hunk of junk!

As part of a complete KitchenAid appliance package purchase three years ago
As part of a complete KitchenAid appliance package purchase three years ago, we purchased a KitchenAid Fridge Model KRFF707ESS01. Rather than take the specced Frigidaire appliance group that was included with our new home purchase, we elected to spend the extra money believing KitchenAid was a superior product. During the past year, we have encountered some of the inner cabinet led lights not functioning and others flickering on and off. We have determined that it isn’t a simple fix such as a door switch, but rather defective led lights and or an led emitter control board. It appears this is a common problem, however KitchenAid is not acknowledging it as a manufacturer defect.I have read a number of online posts reporting the same issues. The reviewers report having replaced faulty led lights, only to have the same problem reoccur. In one case the reviewer stated they were advised that nothing could be done to remedy the problem. I strongly advise you to not buy a KitchenAid fridge with this led lighting design. Repairs are either extremely costly or impractical as the problem will only reoccur. A highly respected technician in our area has confirmed that this is a common problem with KitchenAid fridges. This is a manufacturer defect and needs to be dealt with accordingly.

We purchased a top-of-the-line Kitchenaid dishwasher 2 years ago. In the first year, we had 4 service calls for various problems. The last problem was for poor draining and residual soap in the bottom of the unit. Things were replaced and the door was taken apart, then reassembled. The problem persisted. I went online and did my own research and found the solution. Each repair person was sure to remind me to keep the rinse agent full. Turns out that when you have a water softener, the rinse agent is unnecessary. Now the entire door is showing rashes of rust.We called today and were questioned how the door was being cleaned. It is cleaned with a weak soap solution and immediately dried with a very soft microfiber cloth. Okay, so its not a maintenance issue. It is a very low grade of stainless steel. Magnets stick in the door readily, but not on the stainless handle, which is obviously a higher quality of stainless. After speaking to a manager, we are being sent a cleaning solution and a polishing solution. Sadly, had we researched before paying so much, we would have been informed that this is a chronic problem with Kitchenaid and they refuse to acknowledge the problem, nor will they offer any satisfactory solution. This dishwasher was bought to replace a 27-year-old Kenmore unit that just wasnt getting the dishes as clean as it used to. When it was taken to the junk yard, it looked like it did the day it was bought. The stainless parts were flawless. Dont make the same mistake we did. Take a magnet shopping with you and avoid Kitchenaid.

KitchenAid Gas Range model KGSA906. When self-cleaning for the first time, it stopped functioning. The panel is dead and the oven is locked. The repair guy said it is a known defect with KitchenAid. KitchenAid would only respond that it is not covered under the warranty. Now, we have cleaned the oven a second time with the same result. KitchenAid is being sold as a quality product and they should stand behind their product on this clear design defect, but they are not.

We purchased this very expensive fridge in May 2010 and the appliance store
We purchased this very expensive fridge in May 2010 and the appliance store gave us a 5 yr warranty which we used on 5 different occasions. Long story shortened greatly... 2 yrs in we had water leaking on the floor which was warping the newly done wood! Ahh! We couldnt figure out what was going on b/c it both seemed to be running/leaking as well as there was water freezing up in the back of the freezer, until it created a frozen pool in the bottom and started to leak out the front. So I turned off the water supply (stinks to have this huge fancy fridge and NO ice or cold water!) But that didnt seem to stop the prob. First they said it required the duck bill to help w/ draining the water inside the fridge which wasnt covered under the warranty- even though KA had HUNDREDS of calls on this issue at that point in 2012. Then later we found that we were experiencing 2 separate problems. We needed a faulty valve which was covered and the repair company was nice and thorough in fixing the duck bill for free. The valve we were told might have been b/c the water was freezing inside the ice cube maker in the fridge (our ice is not indoor but in bottom freezer on left side). He showed me how the water was frozen inside the hard plastic tubing. NOTE that we DID defrost it and that sorry to say didnt help. ALSO BE AWARE that for us these issues seemed to coincide via coincidence or not.. We are unsure... But seemed to occur when either someone left the freezer opened for a prolonged time.. OR we went out of town for over a week and the freezer remained unopened. Unfortunately, we have never gotten an answer on that one.. BUT we just came back from a 1 month trip overseas and bam! The prob was back! Grrrr.. Anyway... So that repair of the duck bill and double valve seemed to work for 3 yrs.. b/c now we are in 2015 and experiencing very similar issues again. I called our old repair guys again and they told me that KA has changed out the duck bill for a new piece called the goose neck/P-trap drain tube. We just ran out of the warranty of course last month.. So to fix this would be $110 labor, $80 service fee + part $25. I found this website that shows how to put it in yourself. I dont even cut my own grass or nail something in the wall myself.. BUT this looks so easy I will do it myself! See link to Repair Clinic! Not sure it will show up here but google it! Has a video. Im going to give it a try. ** Also check out the threads on this forum **. ALSO lastly.. Sorry.. Wanted to let you know that one of the other calls we have had to make on this which was NOT at difficult to figure out but would have been pretty costly had we not had the warranty was the condenser went out 4 yr after we bought it 2014. The thing just started not to cool anymore! But the guys figured it out pretty quickly and got the new part in straight away. OHH And lastly... Really it is.. Haha. The stainless doors are the WORST of ALL of our stainless appliances to clean. and EVEN are getting tiny rust spots which is crazy as our fridge isnt anywhere near the sink/stove. Anyway... SO FOR CLEANING them.. I have tried several different products and the one that has by far done the best at cleaning and keeping spots away is Weiman Stainless Steel Cleaner & Polish. I agree w/ ALL that has been said re: this machine.. Looks great.. But a total lemon! I will NEVER spend $2300 on a fridge again. I figured it was my once in a lifetime. Im grown up and get the kitchen I want & have it last a long time.. Im a teacher... So the cash is not flowing like the water on my floor. But I will never buy something like this again. Sadly too much $$, hassle, and time.

We remodeled our kitchen 2 years ago and purchased a KitchenAid Refrigerator, Microwave, oven range, and dishwasher. About a year ago we started having issues with our refrigerator. First the ice maker then the water dispenser and then the circuit board. We have had repairmen come out 6 different times trying to fix the problems. Finally after the 6th attempt the repairman said it was unrepairable and notified our warranty company...What a flipping joke!!We contacted Sears where we bought the appliances from - useless. They did not care even though the warranty company is Sears Home Warranty, every time we tried to contact them we could not get through and when we did there was never a Supervisor available and they would pass us along to their main office and all we would get was a voice mail box. They finally called us back to say all they can do for us is offer us $247.00 for replacement (of a $3500 refrigerator that is 2 years old). DO NOT PURCHASE KITCHENAID REFRIGERATORS! In a nutshell, the same part on my fridge (the thermistor assembly) has broken down 5 times since I bought it (roughly every three months) causing the fridge to simultaneously ice over yet not keep the food cold. I have a warranty on it, and per CAs Lemon Law, they should have replaced the fridge by now. But every time I call, they keep coming up with reasons why that it doesnt qualify for a Lemon replacement. (This latest time was that the latest repair had the same claim number because it was technically within 90 days of the last time a technician came out. By this logic, they could give me the same claim number till the end of time and never replace the fridge).I can afford a new fridge, but at this point its a matter of principle. I have wasted thousands of dollars in food, not to mention days of my life dealing with this issue -- and have become convinced (based on my research of other consumer complaints) that this is an issue KitchenAid is aware of and that they have knowingly foisted a faulty product & loophole-ridden warranty onto their consumers and EXPECT us to give up when they give us the run-around. I have researched lawsuits against KitchenAid and their warranty company and have been contacted by lawyers who are interested in pursuing a class action lawsuit. If you are interested in getting more information/participating in a class action lawsuit against KitchenAid, please email me.

We had remodeled our kitchen and bought all the appliances through hhgregg (which is another story). We bought the KitchenAid Architect Series II and have had an issue with the oven making clicking and whooshing noises every 55 seconds. It is the sound of the pilot light igniting in the oven. I have never heard this noise before with my old oven or anyone else for that matter. When we have the oven on, the noise is so loud and annoying! I put in a complaint to KitchenAid, but they told me that that was a normal sound. They sent a repairman out and he also said that that was a normal sound! Who has ever heard a loud ignition in their oven every 55 seconds? The customer service is horrible and the product stinks! Ill never buy from them again. Ill pay more next time and get the Jenny Air appliances. I had them for 18 years and never had a problem! How disappointing! We are stuck with a shabby appliance! Shame on KitchenAid/Whirlpool. Normal? Who are they kidding?

Really makes me angry that I wasnt told about this since my built in is SO MUCH MORE than regular cost of refrigerator! Im about to call for repair AGAIN today! We purchased this KitchenAid refrigerator as part of an appliance package for a new home. We did not want the high-end option, so we were offered this package as an balance between cost and performance. We installed this refrigerator, a KitchenAid microwave, a KitchenAid cooktop and a KitchenAid dishwasher. Of all the four, the refrigerator is the worst. It broke down immediately after the 1-year warranty period ended. I had KitchenAid service people here on three occasions and they changed every computer component (board) in the machine. Each time, the machine would work well for a little while and then it would gradually degrade in performance. Right now, it is not cooling properly and not making ice. The gasket around the freezer is falling off so the freezer door will not close correctly, but the computer does not detect this as an open door for purposes of the alarm. At first, I was pleased to see the America sticker in the door - now I really dont care where my next refrigerator is made as long as it performs better than this very expensive paperweight.

We built a brand new house in 2011/12. New house means all new appliances. Our KUDS30IXSS6 from Sears seemed like a great product at first. So quiet you sometimes didnt even realize it was on. But then the wheels of the top rack broke off one by one. I realized my brand new Hickory floor boards were beginning to warp - the leak apparently inviting a colony of ANTS to live under my dishwasher!!! And the control panel would stop working from time to time, only to magically start working again after a week or two - just as I was about to call in a repairman. Well it has stopped working again and after reading countless stories of people with the same exact experiences as mine, Im not going to waste my money getting it fixed because according to the reports of others it will only happen again and again. This dishwasher is only 3 years old!! Within the first few months the problems started. A $900+ dishwasher that is worth nothing but a headache.

Purchased KitchenAid undercounter KDTE204DSS at Best Buy 12/2014 - used 1-2 x weekly. Great machine: good drying, no spotting, relatively quiet & clean dishes! Bottom rack occasionally left track when pulling out by corner rather than center. Paid $700 at Best Buy [in package deal with other appliances] $20 kit & was told this model would last minimum 8-10 years so I didnt purchase $159.00 Geek Squad extended warranty.10/2018 [after 4 years light duty] started making grinding and whining noises. Called Best Buy and they referred me to KitchenAid, who then referred me to local authorized KitchenAid repair service. $125.00 just to come out and diagnose, but could be applied to repair if applicable. After tearing entire machine apart [literally removing from under counter, unscrewing panel & interior components, detaching control panel & parts all over my kitchen] service tech needed to make several calls to his company before finally announcing that it was the *computer* that was shot - which would cost $450.00 to replace. At this point, without any warranty on the rest of the machine - it didnt make sense to repair. KitchenAid helpline was polite but could do nothing to help me. Dilemma is Id prefer to move to Bosch, but most reviews say KitchenAid dries better and I do not want mildewy odor. Very disappointed with extremely poor US manufacturing in all appliances.

My comments are reflective of everyone elses complaints on their dishwasher
My comments are reflective of everyone elses complaints on their dishwasher. I must be going crazy because I can hardly believe that a dishwasher cant wash dishes! Ive been pulling my hair out for 4 years trying to figure out why my dishes are so bad. I have convinced myself its our hard water (although we have a water softener) or the lack of phosphates in the detergents (I only use powder) and I even bought some contraband phosphate commercial detergent form amazon... No luck.I have to show you how bad my glasses are, so bad my kids have stopped using them because they are dirty. A lot of it appears to be etching, some is a film that can be scraped off with a razor, but none will come off with a scrubber or soap. This build up is an endless cycle of more crap sticking to it with every wash! I hand wash glasses all the time and refuse to buy another set of new glasses only to ruin them.I must say other than the door hinge cords breaking I havent had the misfortune of ANY broken parts or broken controls (crossing fingers!). I use my dishwasher every day. I do have a tip on the door hinge. DO NOT pay a repair person to do it. The part is $15 and 15-30 minutes of your time. Also note that we installed generic parts and we ended up with the loudest creaky door you have ever heard. The fix was to put the OLD wheels on the new part, and it worked like a charm (apparently the new wheels are made from a different plastic!) My request from fellow consumers... What dishwasher will you replace yours with? I just want this to go away!!!

KitchenAid dishwasher KUDS30FXSS4 - The overall cleaning of this product has been good. However, I have replaced the adjusters on the top rack twice which has cost me $150. The pieces are flimsy plastic pieces that I am sure will need to be replaced again as they have only held up for 1 year each. The inside screws that hold the door together came unscrewed during a cleaning. Thankfully I was home to clean up the puddle that was growing on my wood floors. I am not happy with this product and am disappointed that I paid so much for it and continue to pay for a top name brand appliance. I will not purchase another KitchenAid dishwasher nor will I recommend this product.

We purchased a KitchenAid dishwasher 22 12552 last November. We are two seniors and we dont use the machine daily. So to our surprise, on Oct. 2, the machine went completely dead. No power. I called Sears and a technician came out and ordered the whole new board. We are waiting for it to arrive, but so far hasnt. Sears says its up to me to trace it and to call them tomorrow before 3 to tell them if the part is coming. This shouldnt be my job. I dont trust this machine, I want it replaced, to which Sears says no. It would be fine, but purchase the insurance for $150. This is a heck of a way to run a business. The machine is a lemon and should be replaced. Years past, I had a KitchenAid for 15 years without a service call, and now this unit isnt a year old and is having problems. Its up to the consumer to purchase insurance to keep it running. What a rip-off. This guy at Sears, Carlos, isnt working for the company--only Sears. Where do we have a consumer right? It doesnt wash completely and a huge residue is left on all the dishes. You cant look through the glasses.

Purchased this unit in 2010 with an extended warranty. The unit died in 2012 and was able to get it replaced because of the extended warranty. However an extended warranty was not offered to me on the replacement. The replacement was installed in November 2012 and failed to heat anything in 2015, approximately 2 1/2 years old. I called KitchenAid and spoke with their representative in Tennessee, I explained that this was the second microwave that failed in a two year timeframe. The lady was not very helpful. All she wanted to do was sell me a warranty or I could pay to have a technician come out and look at it. She advised me complaints on defective manufacturing are based on Service Technician calls since they did not have any for this Model then there is nothing wrong with it. I asked her why would 2 of the same units fail during the same time frame and KitchenAid would not recognize that something is wrong with the unit. I told her I could buy a microwave for less than $100.00 and it would last longer than this model. She told me I should have bought an extended warranty. Apparently I am to blame because I did not get an extended warranty from them for $329.00. At this point she stopped listening to my questions and proceeded in a very loud voice which can be heard clearly from 3 feet away that KitchenAid stands behind their product and there is nothing wrong with that Model microwave because there have not been any complaints. I told her to search the internet. If KitchenAid sold quality products and stand behind their products why would there be a need for an extended warranty. Very, very poor customer service. Therefore if you buy a KitchenAid appliance buy a very long extended warranty because their items are not cheap and the warranty is not cheap also.

A five-year warranty was taken on my KitchenAid fridge. I called after 2 weeks of the delivery, and said that the lower box has a crack. They said they only accept claims of such when reported in 24-48 hours. I had moved to a brand new house; upon appliance delivery we went back to Markham and finally after all furniture was here, with small kids, we planned to stay, so I saw the crack then. After 3-4 days, I called cracks on the wall. They said no worries, that its cosmetic, and no heat or air is going out. Wow! A big expensive brand says that - its sad. We also purchased the extended warranty which is thru Federal Warranty Service Corp. We are having the same, repeating top rake wheels failure (3 times so far - every 9 to 12 months) that many others are experiencing. 1st time was under warranty bought from them... Of course the ext warranty does NOT cover wheels and rollers so downtime, parts, labor, aggravation, etc is on us. Thought KitchenAid was a reputable brand like Maytag 20+ years ago (before they went out of business for poor quality and reliability).Wrote KitchenAid a letter explaining and complaining about our recurring issue over a month ago and have heard nothing. Like many others on this site wed thought there would have been a recall or a part redesign to address this design failure but we see no change in parts when we reorder, over and over again. Funny, the parts supplier acknowledged they are sending out a lot of this specific part to address this specific problem. Anyone know how to initiate a class action lawsuit? Based on all the responses read on this site looks like we certainly have the beginnings of one. With so many out of work lawyers right now it could be a way for some of them to get started. It goes without saying (but we are saying it anyway) we are forever done with any future KitchenAid appliances.

4 years ago when we built our new home, we bought a high end KitchenAid dishwasher - retailed at $1800. The big attraction was how quiet it was supposed to be - and it is. However, in the past 8 months the control panel has gone out THREE times! At $150 for the part, and another $150 for service call and labor to replace it, it has reached the point of absurdity. The cycle times are also erratic. Sometimes it will take 4 hours! to go through a normal wash cycle, and others maybe 2. It has seemed to clean well, and it is quiet. But... the ridiculous lack of dependability makes KitchenAid no longer a desirable product.

Im a Hurricane Sandy victim - most of my house wiped out. Rebuilt and purchased all new KitchenAid appliances in 2013. Within a few months, dishwasher had a leak (fixed) and rust spots and discoloring of door panel - poor quality steel. Customer Service says these are cosmetic and they are not responsible. Rust spots probably because we live near the water. ABSURD! ALSO - electronic panel on door failed - option lights not working, trying to get fixed.Refrigerator- Control panel failed- shows false high temps and warning lights - was replaced. Failed again. Trying to get panel replaced again. Quality Control needs to look at hundreds of complaints on the internet. Still have great stress from Hurricane Sandy - KitchenAid is causing more stress. Very unhappy - spoke with my contractor about dropping KitchenAid from their product line. What happens when the warranties expire? Will I have to pay for these future quality failures? Would not recommend your products.

I purchased what I thought to be my last refrigerator in 2007, a KitchenAid KSSC48QMS03. I built my house and was able to maintain and solve any issues that arose and they were minor. 12.23.2014 my refrigerator stopped cooling. We trashed at least 500.00 worth of food and have been living out of an ice chest and an under counter refrigerator. I hired an independent repairman 12.26.2014. My cooling system was leaking but the control board was fine and the 12-year warranty was in effect. He referred me to Kitchen Aid factory service 12.29.2014 for 95.00. They told me it would be 1,200.00 out of my pocket to fix the WARRANTY coolant leak but they would not stand behind the repair. He also offered the tsunami tale. I went home and watched the evaporator fan run at full speed so my control board and refrigerator do not have the problems he outlined. I am now waiting for a call from Whirlpool to entice me to spend more on another of their wonderful products. This is criminal.

The best brand out there to help get rid of hard water spots on the glassware is Finish Brand Quantum tablets.

So far we have spent over $1400.00 on repairs and again it is not cooling properly. I will never purchase a KitchenAid again. Very disappointed. I purchased new KA 5 burner gas range, French Door Refrigerator and Dishwasher in 2013. All stainless steel appliances. Did this purchased as I owned Whirlpool or Kitchen Aid appliances all my life. (Yes, Im over 60). The new appliances are just scrap. It took 4 refrigerators to get one that either wasnt damaged or the compressor was not froze up upon delivery. 4th one, door didnt close right upon delivery. We will take it back and get you a different one. NO! Im not waiting another 10 days for a new one. Youll fix this one. 5 days later they arrived with part. Good thing its under warranty guy says. They dont make a hinge. You replace the entire door for $500. Im thinking exactly what did I purchase here. Then I went to self-clean the oven. It had 2 spots where some cheese dripped off a pizza. Clean it off with damp cloth. Wiped it down with dry towel. Started clean cycle. When it was completed, the oven finish was either pitted or gone. I called KA. Response was, if you put foil on oven floor, that will happen. First off, I dont use foil on oven floor. Second, if I did, I wouldnt need to self clean the oven! DUH! They told me to call a servicer in the area. He says yep, some of them do that, the new floor panel is $67+. (I dont remember how many cents). So I called KA again. So I need to pay for this? Yes sir. But its only 2 months old. Its not covered sir. Listen, Im over 60 yrs old. I have owned Whirlpool/ KA forever. Never saw an oven do this. If it is that unreliable of a coating, just what chemical is it putting into our food? What happened to good quality porcelain? I dont know sir. I wrote Whirlpool an email. Explained this whole thing to them. Never did get a reply.I guess when a corporation does sales of $20 billion a year, you dont care about your customers or the product you turn out. At this point they are selling scrap on a reputation they used to have. Problem is, selling scrap products on a great reputation, catches up. With all the companies produced under the Whirlpool name, you need to research, and go to another separate, independent company from Whirlpool. I will never buy KA again, or Whirlpool. Their customer service just is bad. Nothing like it used to be.

After having a KitchenAid dishwasher that ran well for 11 years, we purchased a KitchenAid dishwasher from Sears on 6/11. This was model KUDS30FSSX2. In November of 12, wheels came off the upper rack and soon after, the motor wouldnt start. It would hum and then not go further in cycle. We had a repairman look at it. He said the motor was bad and that KitchenAid would not replace it. We paid for a replacement (about $400). The wheels on the upper rack were replaced after we complained to Whirlpool. There was never one trip here. They had to call for parts which were sent in about a week. Now, the motor will again not start and we are waiting to get help again. We never talk to the same person twice. The reports above match our experience. This is the same experience we had many years ago with our SAAB auto. They of course are now out of business and their employees lost their jobs. Im sure the execs were well compensated. KitchenAid and their owner, Whirlpool, are headed for the same future. I feel sorry for the employees, but this is what will happen when quality and buyer satisfaction no longer counts. Needless to say, we will never purchase another KitchenAid product or a Whirlpool made product which are marketed under names like Kenmore, etc. Sears too has been no help.

We purchased a KitchenAid Dishwasher 1 year ago. Worked fine - quiet, clean dishes, etc until 9 months into the purchase. I began noting peculiar smell and dark scum near drain at front right corner. Store informed me that the drain line that went into the new garbage disposal under the sink may be too low. We raised the drain hose to be above and this seemed to work for a couple of days but the swampy odor has returned as well as a chalky haze on some of the dishes on the lower rack. I am now told that the problem may be in the control panel. Really?! This is too new an appliance to have this type of problem. I do not think Consumer Report truly assessed the quality of workmanship when they recommended this dishwasher.

Very poor cleaning performance. To get clean dishes, you become the person
Very poor cleaning performance. To get clean dishes, you become the person in that commercial who must wash the dishes thoroughly before putting them in the dishwasher. As my daughter says, this isnt a dishwasher, its a sanitizer. What doesnt come clean? A coffee cup that sat overnight (coffee stains remain), a dish that was rinsed and 90% scrubbed that was put into the dishwasher immediately (before the food dries), knives with even a tad of peanut butter that was not 100% scrubbed off. Salesman told me it was their best seller and could clean the spots off a cat. They tell me that for my dishwasher to perform this badly, it must be a lemon. After nearly an hour on the phone with KitchenAid , I learned that if they send a technician out to check it, Ill owe $120 for the service call if the only problem is that the dishes arent clean. Yup, unless a service code/error comes up, Ill owe for them checking to see why it cleans so poorly. Cleaning dishes does not constitute a functional failure therefore dirty dishes are not covered by the warranty. Another call with a supervisor and theyre finally sending someone out and promised not to charge me as long as the technician can see how the dishes dont come clean (not a problem...since that happens every time).UPDATE: A trusted service technician came out today and ran it through its paces. No error codes. Nothing wrong though he agreed that the dishes that were not cleaned were something that hes experienced too. He said that the machine is as good as it can be and noted that the poor cleaning is probably from the new engineering that uses much less water. He suggested using TOUGH and HI TEMP every time and that it might cut the dirty dishes down to 10% or so. Not exactly a rave review and since its not defective Im stuck with a dishwasher that only sanitizes. The tech told me that any decent dishwasher does NOT require you to wash the dishes first; He said that a good rinse that removes the food particles is enough. He agreed that a dishwasher should actually do much better than the selection of still-dirty dishes on my countertop after the testing. But per KitchenAid, theres nothing wrong with my machine. If youre okay with COMPLETELY washing the dishes before putting them into the dishwasher OR rewashing about 1/4 of the load after doing a thorough rinsing before this machine, then buy it. Its very quiet and pretty. But if you expect a dishwasher to wash dishes well, dont say I didnt warn you. When you pull your dishes out after doing a load in this machine, you will remember this cautionary tale. Ill admit that I usually dismiss one or two bad reviews -- that person must be super picky or to the unit was a rare lemon. Im here to tell you that IF you get a machine like mine, and you go to KitchenAid for support, youll be logging on to write a review that continues my warning to others.

Updated on 10/04/2020: When the compressor failed the digital read out display also went. The compressor is covered by 5 year warranty, but not the digital display panel. I am at 6 weeks and counting without the fridge and no one can give me a date!Original Review: Appliance was 4 months off first year warranty when compressor failed causing electric control panel to need replacing. Although compressor is covered in second year I was charged for the service call and new control panel (over $600). This was a $2400 bar fridge. I bought a whole suite of KitchenAid products when I moved into my new house. I bought KitchenAid brand because my Mom had only recently (at the time) replaces all her KitchenAid alliances that lasted well over 30 years! I thought mine would be the same but NO, NO, NO! The first repair case to the $1200 dishwasher which I paid extra for because it was SO quiet. It was a total splurge but I deserved it after living with the loudest dishwashers for years. It was a simple fix but now needs the same fix again. This time it’ll be out of warranty. The worst appliance though is the fridge! I hate it! I have never seen a fridge freeze up more than this one. The first time it was repaired the tech said it was a terrible design and that I should expect more fixes, he wasn’t wrong. Apparently, the fridge thermometer regulator, coils, etc are in a terrible spot that allow it to freeze up easily. Once it’s frozen and if you don’t notice (it can happen quickly too) it can destroy the main parts of the fridge that make it work & stay cold! So far there’s been 3 fixes to this system but now I’m done. I will be dumping this fridge, I’ve owned for only 5 years and buying a new one because I’m sick of its issues. I’m sad that KitchenAid now makes such inferior products. The only KitchenAid I’ll keep in my kitchen now will be my stand mixer (knock on wood).

This cleaning technology is a complete joke. KitchenAid/Whirpool solution is to buy their cleaning kit a sponge and a plastic scraper. Food is caked on the inside and does not come off. You cant use any chemical cleaners either so youre looking at a 2-hour cleaning job to maybe get this oven clean. Im shocked that they are still selling ovens with this bogus technology. My microwave is only 5 years old so I cant understand why it takes 8 weeks to get a replacement part. I will never buy another KitchenAid appliance again!

The fridge started leaking at the top. I paid $115 from a repairman to be told this is a known defect for this fridge (air leak at the top). So KitchenAid should offer free repair for anyone who this affects. They are now made differently, so why should I be stuck with a lemon? I am so mad right now, repairing it is out of the question as I was quote $650. Also if this is a known defect, why didnt KitchenAid alert us? I could have saved $115 by not having a repairman out to our house. The solution for this is to turn the water off to our fridge and not having a water or ice maker, which is half the reason we bought the fridge. Stay away from this entire brand. We are also dealing with a Kitchenaid microwave that the whole door has fallen apart, literally, cracking and chipping away and I spent $225 for a new door that should arrive any day.

Kitchen Aid Fridge model KF1S29BBMS00 (French Door w/ lower drawer freezer)
Kitchen Aid Fridge model KF1S29BBMS00 (French Door w/ lower drawer freezer) - We bought our fridge in late June of 2013. Its now Early September and weve been without a properly functioning appliance for more than 2 weeks. Looking through the reviews, the prospect is daunting of waiting months to get this resolved.Same issue as many. After a call to Kitchen Aid, a technician came to evaluate the issue and determined that it was an evaporator fan malfunction. It took 5 days to get the new part. A new technician/refrigeration expert came to install the new (and faulty) fan (The freezer door, which was functioning fine up to this point, was somehow damaged by him so that now it makes a noise when I open it). He said to give the fan 24 hours to cool the machine. A day later it was no better than it was before, with the temperature hovering around 60 degrees. A new technician was sent out the next day. He determined, after taking the refrigerator apart that the new evaporator fan was faulty. He defrosted the evaporator with a heat gun and talked to Rick at the KitchenAid tech line (On an aside, the drawer display doesnt work at all, a whole different issue). Now were waiting a week to get a new fan and no guarantee that this fan will work. We are very frustrated.

We bought a new KitchenAid gas range Model in 2014. The model# is KGRS505XSS. Within 1 year, one knob got stuck in off position. We had to pay $150 to service appliance person to get that fixed. Then less 1 year later a different knob has been stuck in off position. This is completely random and happens when were not even operating the knob. An amateur layperson cannot fix it. For the 30 years that we have been owning other gas ranges and operating it in similar home type situations, this has never happened to us. This KitchenAid unit is defective OR this could be a basic design flaw. Beware of this type of problem and do NOT buy KitchenAid for this reason.

This dishwasher (model KUDC10FXSS) was installed in early 2012. The electronic control panel went out less than a year later. It took about two weeks to get it replaced. Luckily it was under warranty. One year later it does not work again! I have been washing dishes by hand for more than a month waiting for this part to come in! I can never get a clear answer as to when exactly the repairman will get it. Clearly many other people are having this issue? The part seems to be in high demand! It is ridiculous. (We had another dishwasher for 20 years before this one - never had a problem!) I am so disappointed in KitchenAid not to mention frustrated! BEWARE before buying this dishwasher - or any by KitchenAid!

Avoid at all costs the custom Architect series of KitchenAid 48inch built-in refrigerators. This $8,000 custom refrigerator has severe problems with the icemaker. I took delivery and installation of this refrigerator. From day one, the ice maker has not worked. It rains water into the freezer leaving ice all over the freezer. Two so-called KitchenAid repairmen came out the second and fourth day. They cant find the solution. After 10 days of no ice, they hope to replace some part that might fix the problem. The fact is that this unit has a design problem that may never be rectified. There is no reason a brand-new unit should have this problem and the service persons cannot fix it. This indicates either a KitchenAid ice maker design problem or incompetency on the part of repair/service providers. This kind of headache is unacceptable just to have ice cubes and cold milk! I should have gotten a cheaper fridge at one tenth the cost. If you research the reliability records of other built-in fridges, Sub-zero, Thermador, etc, they all have major issues with their ice makers and their compressors. I hope that Pacific Sales, now owned by Best Buy, can help rectify this nightmare. They want me to keep this defective fridge and give me an extended warranty to cover predictable malfunctions. Not a good way to start out. I could understand if this was a 10-year old unit but not with a brand new lemon!

We knew ahead of buying that the glass door is bad, and do not use the self-clean, but we liked the range. BUT... the burner knobs turn on with barely a bump (KitchenAid sent us a part to stop this, which turned out to be fillers for worn out knobs, and did not fit our model) AND the top under the burners and knobs is NOT PORCELAIN but JUST PAINT! If anything spills on it while cooking, the spill burns in and is NOT cleanable. I guess we should stop cooking and let the range cool and clean it! KA says this is cosmetic, and not covered or important. The top was covered by our extended warranty from Sears, and was replaced with no problems.KA Customer Service is a joke, and I now see that the new KA/Whirlpool is a joke, and manufactures only JUNK! We will NEVER buy from this company again. It is not the company that made our 27-year-old stand mixer! We have been lucky that we have had no serious, dangerous problems, only bad paint, and ovens that do not cook pizzas evenly. We are very happy with our Bosch dishwasher (its so quiet that you do not know that it is running) and our LG French door fridge with ice in the door, and bright white LED lighting inside.

We have a stainless steel KitchenAid dishwasher. Its around 3 years old. Model is KUDK03FTSS0. It does a decent job cleaning the dishes, but Ive had to dismantle the filter mechanism to clean it out twice now, no big deal, but I did have to buy a special Torx screwdriver. The main problem, however, is the placement of the steam vent. Its located at the top of the door, which happens to be right under the countertop. Over time, the steam venting from the dishwasher has caused my counter (melamine) to swell and bulge and now its impeding the door from opening. What a stupid idea to place the steam vent right under the countertop! Well, its probably not an issue if youve got granite counters. I guess thats next on the list of household updates.

My built-in side-by-side stopped cooling almost a MONTH ago. I did call a highly rated Yelp repair company but they were honest and said that since it was still under limited warranty I should work directly with KitchenAid. Let me keep it short... Its ugly. KitchenAid is deliberately slowing down service and forcing me to work with someone who has terrible Yelp ratings. In fact I have spent $1,000 with this company and even though he claims to be able to diagnose the issues - KitchenAid tech backs him up - as of today my unit is having the same exact issue. We have replaced a heating coil that required 6 hours of labor (KitchenAid confirmed) and a compressor.I called another service company who indicated it is a simple problem that can be fixed easily. When I called KitchenAid and explained this, the customer service guy actually fought with me...refused to speak to me any further unless I gave him the phone number and name of the other company. They were so concerned that one of their authorized repair companies was questioned that they tried to intimidate me into thinking I was going to lose support. Bottom line - I asked for a supervisor and she was understanding. I begged her to send different service company but she refused. As I write this, my $12,000 refrigerator/freezer is not working, despite KitchenAid forcing me to spend $1,000 with their service person. It also still sounds like the engine from a small commercial plane, even though prior to that it was so silent. And no refrigeration still. And guess what? My service repair person will not call me back. KitchenAid is clearly trying to stall until warranty runs out. I will never buy another one of their products. To top it off, it is one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had.

So I will start out by saying that I did not read the negative reviews before purchase. This was not my first oven purchase and should have done more homework. The all the positives were so POSITIVE! So, that being said, my oven is about 6 weeks old. Yesterday for the first time, I tried out the self-cleaning feature. It ran well for a few hours then completely went out. Nothing. I tried everything with the power and fuses but nothing. I have been trying to get someone to help me but I cant reach anyone. Sears repair wont touch it. I will call again on Monday to KitchenAid again. But seeing all of these poor reviews it is making me very nervous. I will have to say that this is a piece of junk. The glass on the inside is stained and gross. I will update this complaint again after KitchenAid gets back to me. But this is crazy. If consumer affairs knew about this problem with the fan and cleaning cycle, why is are they allowed to sell this crap? Class action, I want in. Should have never purchased a KitchenAid.

They will furnish the kit but we have to pay the labor to replace it. Of course it is on backorder with no date as to when it will be available. Why do we have to pay when they know there is a problem? We will have puddles on the floor if I dont chip the ice out of the freezer floor every 2 days. I bought a Kitchenaid refrigerator model no. KFIV29PCM501 in June 2014. Within 1 month I had problems with the water dispenser and the ice maker. It took 3 months to get the parts and the service completed. Within 2 weeks I am having the same problems - water dispenser does not display the correct amount of water being dispensed (if you are measuring your water intake this is a good feature to have) and the ice maker does not make enough ice to serve 6 people within a 3-hour period. When I pay close to $3,000 for a refrigerator I do not expect to have to pick up bags of ice to serve a few guests. Also there is very limited space to store tall pitchers, milk, or wine bottles. I never had a dirty dish come out of it; provided you used the jet dry. No matter what I threw at it, they came out clean and spotless. The controls were on the top edge of the door so hidden during use and programmed before closing the door. The dishwasher ran whisper quiet and had multiple cleaning cycles; including pot scrubber. It should also be noted that the heater in this unit heats everything to the point of sterilization. You can actually smell the clean when the dishes come out. This dishwasher had the adjustable top rack so cleaning large items in the bottom was very easing. It also had extra large capacity so it took a lot of dishes to fill it. Stainless steel, and hidden controls were very nice. The large, rounded, stainless door handle was the only protrusion from under the counter so it blended well into the cabinetry. Kitchenaid 24-inch Stainless Steel with Proscrub. It came with the standard warranty and I paid to extend it an additional 2 years. It also came with a nicely written owners manual which was clear and concise on the operations.

I purchased an expensive refrigerator based on previous experience with KitchenAid. In 2003 I purchased a refrigerator, stove and dishwasher. No calls ever to the customer service for any problems. They lasted 14 years. Thats why I went with them again. BIG BIG MISTAKE. This refrigerator Model#KRMF706ESS has been a problem since I plugged it in. I have missed almost two weeks of work waiting for technicians. I have had many service calls for the same issue and Im still not sure if its resolved. The last technician came out last week and within days my refrigerator is broken again. We started seeing puddles on the floor. The ice was melting in the container. We emptied container and now it doesnt make ice. I called KitchenAid, nothing they can do, when is enough, enough with these people. There was nothing wrong with the money I gave them for the refrigerator. I purchased a new appliance and its been nothing but a pain. They have replaced the same part three times. It still wont fix the problem. I am beyond frustrated. If I could give negative stars I would. When I contact the customer service department its like I am bothering them and wasting their time. They are wasting mine. Customer Service is a thing of the past with their rude customer service people and they dont care now that they have my money. It wasnt working right from the start and it continues to be a problem. I have lost faith in my refrigerator. I dont know if I could go on holidays and leave this appliance on. I wonder if anyone else is having a problem with this refrigerator. The service guy said that they have had nothing but problems with this model. They didnt test it long enough. I guess whoever buys it is a guinea pig. I would never ever ever recommend anyone to buy KitchenAid again. This is the absolute worst service. Since Day 1 it hasnt worked properly. They tell me in order for it to be replaced it has to not be cooling. A technician has to report to them that it is unrepairable and then after he does that, they send it to their engineers and then they see if they can come up with a solution. They could care less how many days of work I miss. They are waiting for my warranty to expire so they can take me to the cleaners for the continued work I know will have to be done once it is out of warranty. Thats the day they are waiting for... class action... thats the day I am waiting for. I know its only $5000.00 but it has cost me more than that now with all the time off work. What happened to the days where companies actually cared about the customer??? I was told the first time I bought the KitchenAid back in 2003 was when it was KitchenAid KitchenAid, now it is KitchenAid Whirlpool and now it sucks!!!!

On June 12, 2004 we bought four appliances from your business which at the time totaled $5,200.33. During the first year and beyond we had problems with the fridge with too much cooling on both sides. After numerous calls and service calls to troubleshoot and repair the fridge, Whirlpool agreed to scrap and replace with a similar model on 12/28/05 (see attached). Unfortunately the same problem has now occurred again with the replaced refrigerator. I appreciate that the item is no longer covered by the manufacturer’s guarantee as it was bought/replaced six years ago. However, the Sale of Goods Act 1979 makes it an implied term of the contract that goods be as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality. As the item has broken down well in advance of its normal life expectancy and has not been misused in any way, we regard the item as being of unsatisfactory quality in respect of its durability. I am, therefore, asking you to repair the item free of charge or to replace it with a similar model/finish, and more importantly one which is working properly. I want either a repair or replacement model (similar) that works well and as advertised. As a result of the problem fridge, we have thrown out hundreds of dollars worth of perished foods over the years.

We did a complete kitchen remodel Jan 2012 and chose a KitchenAid double oven. Model #KGRS505XSS02. It’s been a super disappointing experience all the way around. The rubber feet broke on the stovetop grates. Kitchenaid and Lowe’s both said that’s not under warranty and they don’t sell the feet alone so we would need to replace the entire grate for much higher costs. It scratches the stovetop! Next the top oven igniter broke. It was repaired under extended warranty I purchased, not by Kitchenaid. Knobs broke next, would not turn. Again fixed under my extended warranty. Next bottom oven igniter broke but now not under warranty. Next top oven igniter broke again! We called Kitchenaid very angry but they offered no resolution. I purchased KA side-by-side 48 counter-depth fridge, wall oven with microwave, dishwasher and 48 cooktop for new home 8 years ago. These were not middle of the road models. They were the top models available at the time! The microwave hasnt worked in three years; the dishwasher works but the door pops open right in the middle of washing, so have to prop heavy chair in front of it; and the fridge is now developing cracks in the wall between the fridge and freezer at the rate of 2 inches per day! BTW, the compressor gave up after only 3 1/2 years and was replaced by KA because the hot door burned my nieces hand. I have no hope of getting these repaired as KA said sorry; it’s out of warranty. I spent over $12,000 on garbage that should have lasted many years. I have an old fridge in the garage that has never had a problem in over 30 years, along with an old behemoth microwave that still can cook like a breeze after 20 years. I totally cannot afford to have the KA products repaired so I am stuck. Does anyone know if there is a certain kind of epoxy I should get to try and repair the fridge myself? I am disabled now and need all the advice I can get. Take it from me, dont ever buy a KA product.

The dispenser wont dispense ice because the ice is a frozen mess, but a slight leak of water continues to drip through the ice maker onto my wood floor. I didnt break it, it came this way! KitchenAid has sent 4 different repairmen from 2 different companies and so far no one has figured out what the problem is. Now they want me to setup a fifth appointment for another repairman to come. The unit has always been broken.KitchenAid should stand by their reputation and heavy ticket price and replace my fridge. They can fix it in their factory, but taking 4 days of work off to await repairmen to fix a brand new fridge is enough. So I still have a broken fridge, as my wood floors are being ruined while KitchenAid continues to try to repair it . We purchased a top-of-the-line over-the-range micro-convection oven by KitchenAid in September 2012. Within 30 minutes of installation the unit quit working. For 2 months we had 4 visits from a repair company while it hung without a door in our new kitchen. Finally it worked. Within the next 2 months the exhaust fan went out. They came, ordered a new one and when they pulled the original the tines on the wheels were shredded??? That was 2 more visits. Then just at the end of September this year the other motor did the same thing. That was 2 more visits. Now this week the control panel on the replaced door just started going crazy at random. So this will be another at least 2 visits. This will be 10 days of interruption of my work schedule for repairs to a microwave. Each visit requires you to allow a 4 hour window for the visit. My microwave has not been in full working order at least 4 months out of 14 months. Whirlpool the parent company will not replace it. They would rather I switch companies to LG or GE for my next appliance purchases. We have purchased just about every appliance from Whirlpool and KitchenAid for 35 years and 6 houses because they are a local company. BUT unknowingly this micro was built in China. Our loyalty to them is done because they have NO loyalty to us as a consumer. Very surprised at the lack of caring.
