The glass window on my two-week-old KitchenAid Superba double oven with convection exploded last night during the cleaning cycle. Glass flew out all over the floor, clogged the vents of the oven, and terrified me. Thankfully, I was home and able to turn off the unit before anything else happened. Now, I am afraid to replace this with another KitchenAid, especially after seeing these other instances of glass doors shattering.

My house burned Oct 17, 2011. We rebuilt it and put in all new KitchenAid appliances. I was so excited to have something new, pretty, economical and what Id always thought was a top of the line brand. Boy was I wrong. I have had 4 cabinet depth side by side refrigerators from March 2012 to May 2012. None of them have worked. Feb 5, 2015 my ice maker quit. I paid the serviceman for a brand new one. It didnt produce ice at all for 5-6 days. I got up the 6th day and both fridge and freezer were hot. Lost all my food. The serviceman replaced the compressor on 2-26-15. It worked great for a day. I get up yesterday am and lost my food once again. Fridge and freezer are both hot and not working. Id like to add we have had problems with our dishwasher and double oven thermostat. All products are lemons. Very dissatisfied.

We purchased a KitchenAid refrigerator KFXS25RYMS and had it delivered to our summer home in Wildwood NJ. The thing never made ice and after having 4 visits from 2 different service companies the summer ended still without making ice. We called them back the next spring (house was winterize during winter months) and guess what? The warranty had expired. I had to buy a separate ice maker (not KitchenAid) so we could have ice. Now this year it has water coming from bottom. We called different service company and it needs a heater!!! My advise would be never buy a KitchenAid.

My kitchenaid refrigerator would not work from day one. The cost and parts and labor are over 3,000.00 dollars and they are coming today because it is not making ice. I have tried to get help does not matter. You all wont do anything. I paid 2,600.00 for the worst refrigerator I have ever owned. Every part has been changed and something will go wrong in the next few mo. Count on that. I tell everyone I know not to buy KitchenAid. This need to get reviewed.

Our double oven KEBS207DBL8 is approximately 10 years old, and we have had nothing but problems with it. The electronic touch control pad has gone out on it, in its fourth year. The upper cooling fan has been replaced, the front door has been replaced, and currently, it sounds like a diesel truck idling when the unit is turned on. Our Kitchenaid appliance is not the quality product we expected when purchased, and we will certainly avoid all Kitchenaid products from here forward.

Love the fridge, but after two years freezer started to fill with ice. Determined it was a clogged drain line which is a design flaw. Happens often enough that there is a YouTube video to correct problem. Still have to pay for service call. Learned that nothing has been done to correct the problem. Really? Would cost next to nothing to correct. Now a $22 replacement part is available to fix. Cost me $100. I had already figured out problem, emptied fridge and defrosted - otherwise would have been more expensive.

I purchased 4 new KitchenAid appliances with my new house. In less than a few months, the finish on the bracket that holds the handle to the oven of the range started to flake and peel. As others have written, KitchenAid describes this as cosmetic and will do nothing about it. I talked with 3 customer service persons and emailed pictures. My emails and voicemail message are not returned. I, too, bought KitchenAid thinking it was a high end appliance company. KitchenAid is not interested in quality, not interested in customer service, and not interested in backing up their products! I recommend no one ever buy a KitchenAid product! I certainly will not do so!

I have had this fridge for three years. We have been seeing issues with every feature on it. The lights won’t come on, the ice maker is malfunctioning, it won’t dispense water or ice. The fridge will turn off completely for hours and sometime days. My only saving grace is to unplug the fridge, wait ten minutes and plug it in. When I do this, the fridge goes back to normal for about a week.I reached out to Kitchenaid and they sent a tech to my house. The technician told me that there is a common error with the circuitry stemming from the deli drawer. If you read all the negative reviews you will see I am not the only one experiencing the issue. The technician did all his diagnostics and found nothing. He called the tech hotline for Kitchenaid and they told him this is a common issue with this model. The deli circuit and wiring needs to be replaced. They have done it to hundreds of this model. (READ ALL THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS.) The technician told me that even though there are many models that have gone through this, it is not covered under warranty. The parts start at $600 not including labour. When I called Kitchenaid back and told them of the issues and how this is a common issue, they did not deny this. They did say that yes there are a lot of negative reviews on here about this problem, as there are a lot of negative reviews about any product on the internet. They advised that even though it could be a manufacturer defect, the warranty is one year on this and they will do nothing for me. Marie from the Whirlpool Hotline was very adamant that regardless how many people are experiencing this issue, the warranty is one year. Kitchenaid will not repair the fridge, and I am on the hook for what should be considered a recall due to manufacturer defect.I have since reported the issue to the consumer protection act, and advised them that Kitchenaid is aware of the defect, even acknowledges it, but won’t repair or replace. I am not asking for cash back for the food that was spoiled, nor am I asking for a new fridge. I just want the defect repaired, but that is too much to ask outside of one year.

Owned this dishwasher (KDTO104SS) for 8 months. It replaced a Bosch. Gradual decline in performance for last month. Did the hard restart, worked for one cycle. Requested warranty service, waited one week for repairman, he ordered new part, waited another week for him to return. He then said another part had to be ordered, refused to overnight as he is only paid once for warranty service and only came once a week to this city. Then he indicated that the control unit was shorted as insects had gotten inside. We have professional pest control and have never seen those insects. They were, in fact, inside the controller. This must be a design flaw, as there isnt a place in the country where some insects do not reside. We have previously dishwasher for more than a decade with no problem. The manufacturer indicated there is no recourse. We bought this as it was made in this country and had good performance. The seller is working with us to get another appliance, but we will NEVER buy a KitchenAid again.

Kitchen Aid used to be the best out there. Now they are worse than GE. Since buying my Kitchen Aid appliances in 2014 I have had nothing but problems with each piece. My compressor has gone out of my refrigerator twice, The dishwasher top racks just disintegrated, the microwave plate cracked within a week and now my oven wont work. When I go to preheat it, the message reads That function is not available. I am replacing every piece after the first of the year and I will never buy kitchen aid again. Company could care less and when you call to ask what could be wrong they want to get a credit card so you can be charged for their help. Very embarrassed I even have Kitchen Aid in my home. Not respectable, well built appliances anymore.

We purchased our top of the line Kitchenaid Gas Range/Oven in 2019. When we use the locking mechanism to lock the electronic panel on the top, it seems to work properly on the oven but it does not lock the range. As a result there have now been many times we brush by the knob for the gas range and it will begin leaking the gas without the ignite. This has happened numerous times even when my cat walks by, or we brush by the stove, unloading groceries. The knob turns slightly and the gas begins to leak. At one time we had the whole room fill up with gas bc we did not know it was on (we believe our cat must have brushed by) and the 12X24 room was filled with gas. I am working with the warranty team but this is a big safety concern for my family of 4 plus 2 pets.

I brought a KitchenAid Dishwasher and a KitchenAid Refrigerator and both are THE WORST purchase I’ve ever made!! I’ve had problems within 30 days of my purchase. The dishwasher does not drain properly, parts were falling off, the top rack sprout continuously broke till the point of not being to use it anymore. My fridge kept building ice in the back of it, all the lights inside repeatedly die out, the ice maker makes ice intermittently. I could go on and on!! Please buyer beware! The broiler element on my KitchenAid range (Model No. KGSS907) came on by itself and stayed on. I was in the living room, and the first I knew was the smell of burning. Not only did it come on, I couldnt turn it off, the control panel being non-functioning. To stop it, I had to pull the unit away from the wall and unplug it, nothing else worked. Now I am afraid to leave the range alone. This is a big problem since I travel a lot. I was recently away in Europe for a month. Can you imagine what could have happened if the stove came on during that month? Normal practice for any controls designer is to make sure that any failure goes to the off position, but that apparently that does not apply to KitchenAid. Does anyone know of a recall?

We bought a KA fridge KSF26C7XYY04 with an extended warranty service plan. Thank goodness! We have had 3 service calls in a 6 month period. The fridge is only 2 years old. The evaporator and ice dispenser motor had to be replaced. I just called again because once again the freezer is not working. I have thrown out food 3 times now. I have a 5-hour service repair window every time the company that services the warranty comes out. Last time the part took so long to come in that I waited for almost 4 weeks to get my fridge fixed. This purchase has been a total nightmare! If we did not have the warranty, KA would not even talk to me. There is zero customer service. I was actually told today that with the internet I should have done my homework by their own customer service! That says it all. Sad state of affairs. I will never buy a KA appliance ever again. Once the warranty runs out and I cant get them to continue to fix this fridge, I will take the loss and buy a new non-KA fridge. This company completely sucks. All 3 drawers on the fridge side are broken. Same issue where the face of the drawer has come off. I had one drawer replaced which broke again. KA wont stand behind their poorly made product. They want me to buy them for $125/drawer. I refuse to spend any more money on this piece of poorly made appliance. I duct tape them! SO sad.

We bought the dishwasher about 2 months ago, I have had Sears service out to check it out and the tech basically said it was all my fault. The dishwasher doesnt clean, it doesnt dry, you cant interrupt the cycle (add a dish) without starting over. I have to make sure the dishes are spotless before putting them in the washer. Many times the detergent door wont open and when it does the packet just sits in the holder and never gets into the washing area. I feel that I have wasted close to $850.00 which is something I can not afford. I would never buy anything they manufactured again.

After all these issues and I had to yell and scream to get them to replace it. I was just told they would call me on Monday to replace it. Since my kitchen cabinets were installed just before the refrigerator I hope it fits.

Model # KSRD25F Door Bin Holder: Today, I contacted KitchenAid in regards to my refrigerator door cracking from the bin holder and around the outside of the door. This is the part that is made to hold gallons of milk and jars that are glass. I spoke to **, the supervisor, after I was told that the bins are covered for lifetime, but the holder that they sit in would not be covered. I read the label on the inside of the door and I quote, KitchenAid is dedicated to providing quality engineered appliances that offer lasting value.” But thats just the beginning. “Our lifetime warranty on door bins is synonymous with long-lasting, worry free performance. This is what is right inside the door where you place the bins. I was told that I could purchase a new door by Ms. **. I asked how much the door would be as this could cause one of our children to get hurt. She came back to say the door is no longer available to purchase and that my only option at this point would be to purchase a new refrigerator. My refrigerator, at this point, is not long lasting and not giving me that worry free performance that they apply to the door. The bins were supposed to be designed to hold a gallon of milk, jars and two liter bottles. They lifetime warranty the bins that you put the items in, but not the holder that holds them in your refrigerator. If these fall from the refrigerator, they have the potential to severely injure the person retrieving the items from this refrigerator.

Spent $3200+ on a KitchenAid Refrigerator model KRMF606ESS00 about a year ago. Weve had nothing but problems since we got it. The ice/water dispenser would stick open and wed end up with water and ice on the floor. The tech that came out to fix it said that theres a known delay between the ice/water paddle dispenser and the computer that tells the refrigerator to dispense the water. He did replace the unit because it was sticking as well as the delay. This helped. Would have been nice to know this before ordering the refrigerator. Shortly after that was fixed we noticed that our food was spoiling prematurely and the refrigerator seemed warm. I bought a thermometer and found out that the inside of the refrigerator was around 46-48 degrees when it was set to 33. This time the tech that came out said that the paddles werent opening to allow cold air into the refrigerator. Fine. Ordered a part that came in in a few days and installed it. The tech cleaned out pounds of ice that had built up in the back of the unit between the fridge and the freezer when he installed this part. Because of this, all seemed well for a week or 2 until the thermometer started climbing up again. However, this did not fix the problem. This time the tech that came out said it was a gas solenoid that needed to be ordered - something about the coolant not distributing properly between the freezer and fridge. He said it would be a few days to order the part. Five days later I call the repair people again and they said they had to order the part from the manufacturer and it would still be another week or 2. Um HELLO we have spoiled food here and it is the week before Christmas. Nothing we can do maam. We can overnight the part for $100. Call the manufacturer to see if they can do anything. Called the manufacturer WHIRLPOOL who proceeded tell me that theres nothing they could do - they got the order for the part - it IS IN STOCK but they havent shipped it yet. Well, can you overnight it? That is not our policy maam. What? Why not? Can I talk to your supervisor? No maam, that is not our policy. I can email my supervisor and they will get back to you in 24-48 hours. Are you kidding me?? You dont have a supervisor? That is not our policy maam. If he called me maam one more time I would have jumped through the phone. So basically, screw you, customer. Were not helping you and dont care if your food is spoiling. Oh, but were happy to take your $100+ per year to extend your warranty on this piece of crap. DONT BUY KITCHENAID IF YOU WANT GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE. THEY ARE THE WORST.

I have a KitchenAid Refrigerator and Microwave Oven Combo which are 8 years old. The refrigerator went out on 11/26. My warranty was out so they sold me a 1-year extended for $429.00. A&E came out on December 3 to fix the refrigerator. The repair guy said it was the circuit board and would order it. He said it would take 1 week to get the part. The part never showed up and A&E called to find out if I received the part. The repair guy told me to move the fan to keep the refrigerator cool. He told me the part is back ordered until January 19. Now I am out of a refrigerator and freezer. I lost over $400 in food. I called KitchenAid back to get a tracking number for the part. They told me the part is due in on December 19th so I booked another appointment. After 15 calls to A&E and KitchenAid, I found out the part is now discontinued! And the reason is that KitchenAid stopped making it. But the system had a glitch and no one knew it was not coming in. Four weeks and still there is no working refrigerator. A&E came out to pull the circuit board to have it rebuilt. Another week before its fixed or is it? I called to get some sort of compensation and answers but again no one knows what is going on. I got mixed answers to my questions. I will never buy another KitchenAid appliance! Then the spring on my microwave/oven went out. They sold me another warranty for $350.

Wife & I are close to retirement so we bought a top line KitchenAid Dishwasher for about $1,100 thinking we not only had a warranty but would have good performance and few if any repairs. Less than 2 years into the purchase we have now been without a dishwasher for over 4 weeks. The certified repair agency has been here 4x now and the dishwasher now has new: User Interface panel, CPU Control unit, dirty water sensor, motor, pump, tub, wiring harness.KitchenAid will not replace the unit with a new one (so much easier and so much better customer service). They would rather go through all of this replacement and inconvenience. This is similar to buying a rusted, dilapidated car from a junk yard. Made in Mexico I think. Very poor customer service. Very poor product. Not worth a $50 much less $1,100. Never again. Please tell your friends. I will be telling my friends as often as I can. The repair men are here today & if its not fixed, the BBB, the president of the company & the FTC will hear about it.

This is our 2nd Kitchen Aid dishwasher. The first lasted 15 years, which is why we went back to the company. The top rack on this one is plastic (terrible idea!) and had to be replaced. I went to the Lowes where we bought it and the new design is steel ball bearings - much better. But that leaves me and my family in the lurch with an $800 dishwasher that needs an upper rack every 2 years. Lowes and Kitchen Aid have not been helpful, I had to buy parts, $75, to install myself because I didnt want to pay an additional cost to have a repairman come to the house. I am 68 and have never had such poor service from a company. Bought a Fridge, loved it. After six weeks ice was not working. Waited two weeks to get someone to come fix. Why replacing ice maker, touched a bare wire and shorted out the whole refrigerator. Called service for replacement. Was told this fridge was back order. After talking to two people they finally agreed to upgrade to one they had in stock. Waited week and half to get new one. Delivered it but it had a large dent in freezer drawer. They refused to leave it while I wait on new one. Waited another week and half for another one. The morning of delivery they called and said we would have to reschedule because he couldnt get a eighteen wheeler to my house. I live on a state highway with plenty of room to pull over, I have a paved driveway and a side street beside me. Trucks can and do stop. After I became very angry they finally deliver new one the next AM. Six weeks without a fridge in South Tex in the middle of summer.

We purchased a new Kitchenaid refrigerator and double oven wall unit when we moved into our new home March of 2010. We have had issues with the ice maker/water dispenser not working. The temperature Not staying cold. The veggie tray LID fell off. Now its dead! The repair man did not have an answer, he made many phone calls and theyve decided its the motherboard, which will cost us $500 and a week to get in. Well then it started working, then it died, right now its cooling. The Ice/water in the door was so gross - from water and ice? Theres no way to take it apart to clean. After months of trying to clean the black mold out of it, I finally found a hand held steam pressure cleaner to clean it. I WANT TO SAY THAT I HAVE A 30 YEAR OLD REFRIGERATOR in my garage thats still working. Its NOT a KITCHENAID! Then theres the double ovens, that are self-cleaning thats a joke. When I lock the oven to clean it, it blows a circuit and we have to call someone to fix it. The last time the guy said I wouldnt use it. Its NEVER worked, and that was the reason I bought it. BUT I have to clean the ovens by hand because the advertised self cleaning was just a lie. At this point I would rather buy a refrigerator that I can rely on. I tell everyone, Do not buy Kitchenaid. We purchased a nearly $4000 KitchenAid refrigerator on May 22, 2019 (KPFC704FSS). Within a year (June 17, 2020, the ice maker stopped working and the refrigerator stopped cooling. During the course of the next two and a half months, a new compressor was installed. The fridge began to cool again, but no ice was being made. A new ice maker was ordered, but Whirlpool initially refused to provide it at no charge. Eventually, the company relented and a new ice maker was installed on July 16. Within days of installation of the ice maker, there was still no ice being made. After more phone calls, we were offered a voucher for a new refrigerator of any kind or a new KitchenAid fridge identical to the one we had. We agreed to a new KitchenAid refrigerator be delivered. BIG MISTAKE!After no delivery or delivery notice for three weeks, on August 17, 2020, a call was made to the appliance store to determine the delivery status of our new replacement refrigerator and we were told to call back on September 16 —perhaps by then a there would be an answer to our question of ‘when?’ Presently, there is no known delivery date; not even a known month of possible delivery. Throughout the past three months, and who knows how much longer, the appliance store has continued to do its best; however, KitchenAid/Whirlpool has failed all ‘reasonable standards’ of good corporate consumer service. Never again will a Whirlpool product be purchased by us.

I can not use the full functionality of self-clean that we paid for due to blowing the fuse, and completely undependable. (MY OVEN WENT OUT ON THANKSGIVING MORNING!) We purchased a Kitchenaid dishwasher about 3 years ago. KUDS35FXSSO. This dishwasher had the wheels on the top rack fall apart within the first 2 years. Then just days ago, the main controller just stopped working. It looked like the controls were not getting power. So we called Whirlpool and they sent out a local company to see what was wrong. I had to pay $100 for them to tell me that the controller is known to go out and be defective. Also the internal control box was hanging by the wires, also known issue and has caused fires. I also found out the valve was not working so the top sprayers were not getting water so they were not cleaning the top dishes. The parts for these items are covered from years 2-5, but not labor. Total labor cost for all of this plus the previously mentioned cost is around $300. That is not to mention that a heating error was also found (another known issue) but not covered by the warranty. My question is if all of these are known issues, and have occurred to many people, why are these dishwashers not recalled? Or why hasnt there been a class action lawsuit! I will not have them fix this piece of garbage, just so I can pay again down the road to replace or have it fixed again.

I purchased a KitchenAid refrigerator in April 2012 for $$$. So you know I had a Kenmore for 22 years that this KitchenAid was replacing and I actually sold the Kenmore for $50 because it still worked perfectly. I figured KitchenAid was a top of the line appliance. Ice maker went out within 13 months and after several calls I got them to cover parts and labor to fix it, but thats not the complaint here. Fast forward to 2016. In May 2016 the whole unit shut down and after several calls into CS found out it was my sealed system that went out and it was covered. It took a while to get my money back though. The day before Christmas 2016 my refrigerator went out. Long story short, I called the authorized KA service provider to come back out and they told me it would $450 to repair (again, 3rd major repair in 4 1/2 years while the 2nd major repair in 2016). After receiving the estimate I called KitchenAid CS to talk to them about this but their systems were down and couldnt help me and told me to call back the next day. Not thinking because I had a house full of kids on Christmas break from college I figured I would call back once I got back to work this week. Once I got a hold of someone from KA she told me KA would cover the parts only which I was ok with. She told me she would call the authorized repair company and get it worked out. I told her I already had it repaired because I had gone a week without a refrigerator anyway. KitchenAid wont reimburse a customer, just an authorized repair company. What a piece of ** company. Every time I contact KA they tell me the same thing. Appliances are meant to last forever and they never promised me that. I have another 20 year old GE refrigerator in my garage thats worked perfectly that whole time and I spent like $500 on it. This was my first and MY LAST KitchenAid/Whirlpool purchase.

Did you know KitchenAid is owned by Whirlpool which includes Maytag, Jenn-Air, Amana, Kitchen Aid... Pretty much all the heavy hitters from the US fall under the Whirlpool umbrella now. Just keep that in mind as read through all of these disappointing posts about quality, service and general safety. I, like many, replaced my entire kitchen with what I believed was the TOP quality KitchenAid appliances. I bought the KEMS308SSS05 which is a Micro/Convection oven combination. Its failed now 5 times since I purchased new in 2012. I am 4 months outside of the 2 year warranty but the first problems (for which theyve never corrected because it continues to happen) started with the first 90 days.I get sometimes there are lemons at ANY company, we are humans and were not perfect, but a company when realizing their faults need to step up and cure the deficiencies. Thats the difference between an average company and a great company, and sadly whirlpool seems no longer to be or even want to be a great company.

I wish you could give negative stars for their crappy product. We purchased a kitchenaid built-in refrigerator. After only 2 months of operation the refrigerator quit cooling. Both freezer and refrigerator stopped working. We lost all our freezer food and we were forced to rent another refrigerator while waiting for an appointment to have the refrigerator repaired. The refrigerator is still under the warranty period. We have had the assigned repair company come out three times. They have replaced the control module voltage inverter. The refrigerator is still not working and now the repair person has stated he is not sure and will start replacing more parts. KitchenAid has stated that they will NOT do anything but allow this technician to replace part by part. This is a $10K refrigerator and they have little regard to helping resolve the issue. Stay away from KitchenAid.

We spent $665.11 on a microwave that lasted 1 year and 2 months. As is does not fall into their 1 year warranty, they refuse to help or compensate in any way. We had the same issue with a $900 dishwasher we purchased from KitchenAid a couple of years ago. BOTH appliances stopped working after exactly 1 year! It would seem that they are in the business of manufacturing CHEAP China appliances that break shortly after their warranty so you must purchase another one.Customer service is no help at all. They just read from a script repeating the same sentence over and over again. Other companies like Black & Decker and GE have much better customer service and ability to help customers when their products do not work. Would shop from them instead! I bought this refrigerator in 2013 to replace a Superba Kitchenaid which I was very happy with. I loved the configuration of drawers, the french doors, the freezer with two shelves. It seemed very well thought-out design wise. I still love all these things. However, the most important thing a refrigerator and freezer can do is: keep refrigerator foods cold and keep frozen foods frozen. It also needs to be moderately quiet. One year ago we experienced problems with the ice maker and freezer. Unit began making a very very loud noise also. Over $500 later and a very unsatisfactory experience with A and E - will never use them again. There were multiple services calls which resulted in fees which they were supposed to reverse because of their error and they never did. A very frustrating experience. The unit stopped making ice again a few months ago and began to buzz very loudly. We experimented with various things: keeping the top shelf of the fridge empty, moving things around in the freezer. We began making ice in ice trays and transferring the ice to the dispenser. It would make ice intermittently. Then we began to notice foods werent frozen in the freezer. And the noise became Louder and louder and LOUDER. To the point I had to wear earplugs to bed. We are now working with a local company to see if their fixes work.Time will tell. I can hardly believe how many people Ive talked to have a similar story. It seems that refrigerators generally are junky. Something we all need. Yet they last 4 years? Our parents refrigerators lasted decades... If anyone has a recommendation of a refrigerator that could last 10 years let me know - Im pretty sure we will need to replace this 4 year old expensive model soon.

I purchased a KitchenAid 30-inch gas cooktop. The knobs overheat while cooking and require the use of an oven mitt to turn off. Goldstar and KitchenAid are aware of this design defect with knobs overheating. Goldstar and KitchenAid refuse to do anything about this matter. In the meantime, were stuck with a KitchenAid gas cooktop that is dangerous to use and could potentially cause serious burns while using the knobs. Run, don’t walk way from Goldstar and the purchase of any KitchenAid appliance. Their negligence and refusal to address a problem regarding possible injury is reprehensible. We advise anyone considering Goldstar or KitchenAid to choose another dealer and appliance manufacturer. Dont buy from any company that does not stand behind their product.

Our problems with this dishwasher have been multiple over the 2 years and 5 months we have owned it. The electronic control board went bad almost immediately. This was fixed under warranty almost immediately. A few months later water leaked out of the machine and damaged our floors. We received a letter from KitchenAid owning up to the problem, with our model listed among the problem machines. When I called Customer Service to schedule repair I was told the serial number did not match up and that nothing could be done for us. The latest disaster is the warping, popping and breaking of almost all the plastic parts in the upper basket. Again, KitchenAid refuses to stand behind its miserably made product: I am told that I am out of warranty and that the Extended Service plan I purchased does not cover plastic parts. I will never again purchase a KitchenAid large appliance. I will not deal with a company that refuses to stand behind its product.

We have thoroughly cleaned it with baking soda, have 2 baking soda canisters in the refrigerator. Two different repair people (factory authorized) have come, but done nothing to resolve the issue. In fact, they made matters worse, by not re-positioning the refrigerator correctly when leaving. We need assistance. We should not have to discard a 5-year old refrigerator.

I purchased the Kitchen Aid model KUDS301Xss and had it installed in Jan. of 2011. In the first year, under warranty, I had the rollers on the rack replaced (they are plastic and after heating in the dishwasher, they get brittle and break) and then I had the control panel replaced. Shortly after the year warranty was up, the rollers on the rack broke again, and I was told that it was not covered, so I spent $50 to purchase the parts and I repaired it myself. I was offered an extended warranty, and I purchased it because I had already had so many problems that I thought it would be a good idea. So now, I have had the dishwasher for just over 2 years and the rack rollers are broken again! I called to use my extended warranty, dont bother. Its not covered! The rack is covered, just not the rollers; this doesnt even make sense to me! So I called Kitchen Aid Customer Service and after talking with a supervisor, I was told that they could offer me the parts for 50% off - $75 + tax! I explained that I paid $50 for them from a local distributor and they could keep their parts. All I wanted was for them to give me the parts; I was willing to fix it myself! I will never purchase a Kitchen Aid appliance again and I will tell everyone I can to do the same! I wouldnt be so upset if the company would stand behind their product. Its a poor design and poor customer service makes for one unhappy consumer!

I purchased a KitchenAid dishwasher model KUDC20CVSS4 in September 2010 to match all my other KitchenAid SS appliances. It will not totally rinse off top rack dishes and glasses of food residue, and as a result, food particles harden on them so bad that I must soak them in the sink to get them cleaned. I had repairmen out periodically since November 2010 to fix the problem. I have been told to run hot water before starting dishwasher, scrape/rinse dishes thoroughly before washing, switch to liquid Cascade from powder or tablets because H20 doesnt get hot enough to dissolve it, and to run dishwasher with 1/2 to 1 cup white vinegar on occasion. Nothing has worked. The bottom line is that we bought an $800.00 lemon with no recourse. Oh yeah, I was also told that new dishwashers are all made the same since the government enforced new Energy Use standards. I think its baloney being sold to me in order not to buy a new dishwasher (which we are considering). KitchenAid knows about the problems with this unit since it is now discontinued and replaced! I wish they would replace my dishwasher and start a class action suit against KitchenAid.

We bought a KA frig in 2005. We should have learned from that experience. Week 1 everything in frig and freezer was freezing. Service came out 3 times. Finally they removed whole freezer side door (the brains of the unit) and brought a whole new door. Wouldnt replace whole thing just the door. While putting on new door they scratched and scuffed up unit. Yr later ice maker broke. Had to have new ice maker. We have continued to have trouble with it and it is messy. Ice gets hung in shoot, come home water on the floor. Finally stopped using it and went back to ice trays. We paid 2200 for this unit. We redid kitchen in Jan 2011. New slide in range above stove vent a hood vented thru the roof and microwave and new dishwasher. We dont cook a lot. We use the dishwasher maybe 3 times a week. It would not complete cycles but not consistent on which one then the panel lights started staying on, then off. Then it stopped working. After reading reviews we started the breaker thing. Now nothing. It wont be 4 yrs old until Jan 28, 2014 and remember used MAYBE 3 times a week. :( The writing on my knobs on the stovetop rubbed off the first time I cleaned them. The oven temperature has never been right. We have tried to adjust it but no luck. The oven does not cook evenly either. The vent a hood does not draw good. We paid a lot of money for these appliances. I previously was a Jenn Air fan... Loved loved loved Jenn Air. The ONLY reason we went KitchenAid was because the dealer in my town which we have always purchased from stopped selling Jenn Air. If we didnt purchase from them they dont work on it. So after they assured us how good KitchenAid was (even tho we had problems immediately with our fridge supposedly a freak occurrence) we went with the KitchenAid. BIG HUGE mistake. NOW the dealer we bought from so they would work on it for us has gone out of business after 60 yrs. They retired. :( Now I had to call 800 number to find someone. I have been waiting a week and a half and still no call for my appt date. We will never purchase KitchenAid again. Bad product and very costly. :(

EVERY replaceable part that is not considered part of the inner compartment has been replaced. Our last technician, in writing, wrote that there was nothing else that could be done except replace the entire refrigerator and that ours was a lemon. I called the manufacturer (Whirlpool/KitchenAid) and they told me that I had a problem and they didnt, in other words... I was SOL. However, the drawers (bins) are designed so that all the tension is on tiny triangles. We have had two drawers crack at this stress point and consequently they are unusable. My brand new dishwasher leaked from the moment we got it. Kitchenaid took a long time to send not one, but two repair men out to check it out and we were told by BOTH that we should have the dishwasher replaced since the tub was damaged in addition to a marked front panel. Then it took them weeks to finally say they are replacing the parts and then they come to refurbish it and the tub they bring is damaged. I now have to wait an additional 12 business days to have them come back. This will make a total of 3 months without a dishwasher and I have a toddler. We bought a 29 cu. ft. French Door stainless refrigerator model KFIV29PCMS in 2013. We had repairmen out three years in a row. Each time required several visits. The air tower, ice maker evaporator fan, two fresh food evaporators, valves, a compressor, and a UIn were all replaced. We were out of a refrigerator for 18 days one time and over a week this last time. On one visit they sent a repairman out only to say that he couldnt fix it as it is a closed system. Every time its something different. We have had frost on the top left shelves with water leaking into them, water coming out of the ice dispenser, ice building up on the freezer drawers, water on the floor, and it just quit working. Although we had insurance, it only paid $300 for spoiled food. We have lost more than that. It is always so inconvenient to schedule time for them to come, then reschedule when the part finally comes in. I have complained to Good Deals where we bought it. I dont think they should sell appliances with so many problems. I complained to KitchenAid but all they did was take my complaint. Needless to say I have complained to the repair place,Gulf Appliance. My old Sears refrigerator lasted 26 years without even a service call, and it was a fifth of the cost. I cant believe a company cannot do a better job making an appliance. Did they even test them before putting them on the market? Apparently not. I will never buy another KA fridge again. Our microwave, stove, and oven are all ok but I wonder if they too will go out soon.

This product is dangerous and after having read the same complaints on Consumer Affairs website, its a major wonder why it has not been recalled as some consumers have stated that the microwave will suddenly turn on. I contacted Kitchen Aid & had a live chat with a rep who said, Based on the issues that youre describing, there are no recalls for the problem with this model and serial combination. I am very sorry for the inconvenience. I’ve had the cooktop, oven, dishwasher, refrigerator, and microwave for three years. THREE YEARS!!! The refrigerator stopped cooling. The next day the freezer stopped freezing. We waited five weeks for the one and only repair company in our area, Guinco, to come out. Was told that a part, which was no longer under warranty $507, had malfunctioned. Waited another four weeks for the part to come in. When the part arrived they put it on and then discovered the condenser, which thankfully is under warranty, $1,000+, was no good. So now we’re having to wait another six weeks for the new condenser. Practically four months. That is totally absurd. Why they feel only one company in my state is authorized to work on these substandard appliances, I don’t know. Luckily we have an older refrigerator in the garage. My husband went out and bought a portable ice maker, also. I read on the website that Kitchenaid/Whirlpool products can last between 15-17 years. If that’s the case for the “few” products that do not last longer than three years, it should be an automatic replacement. That would be excellent customer service. Do not buy this product. Run, do not pass. Go as far away from this cheap as heck product. The product “looks” fabulous but it’s all a delusion. Again, RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN FROM THIS CRAP PRODUCT.

On 4/8/13, I replaced ribbon from UI to main control. Unit now is shutting off but is still beeping randomly in convection bake. Orvilles Appliance in Amherst uses DC Appliance to do their repairs. DC Appliance has been wonderful, trying to repair it. I went to Whirlpool product review on 4/8/13. On 4/23/13, DC Appliance arrived again to repair range. They turned off during baking again. Another control board was installed. When service technician was finished, the range started beeping again but it was too late in the day to speak to Whirlpool tech support. DC Appliance called Whirlpool tech support on 4/24/2013 and was told we would be contacted by Whirlpool on Monday, April 29th, to arrange replacing our range. Monday came and went. So Tuesday, April 30th, we called DC Appliance, who called Whirlpool. The story changed. Suddenly, they had no record of the conversation with DC Appliance about replacing the range. Today, May 1st, DC Appliance called us to say they had the names of the two individuals they spoke with regarding the replacement. We were told to wait until Friday to hear from Whirlpool. DC Appliance said they cannot give us the names of the tech whom they spoke to or the person above that tech who made the decision to replace it. We paid $1,447 plus tax for this range. On top of that, we paid an additional $139 for a 5-year extended warranty. We are getting the runaround. We have been patient. Whirlpool and Orvilles had been nothing but nasty. Please help.

Very disappointed with Kitchen Aid refrigerator quality. This is 2nd one. First one was replaced by Kitchen Aid after many attempts at repair. The ice maker spewed out water into refrigerator trays, water dispenser not working properly, pathetic (not wholly formed) looking ice cubes, ice buildup around ice cube dispenser chute and under ice maker. This one has similar ice maker problems as first except water dispenser works and water doesnt spew from ice maker to same degree as first refrigerator. Now after 2 years the LED lights on the top and in the freezer compartment have gone out except for one dot in the middle of each light set. After replacing the freezer light without fixing the problem, authorized repairman thinks a new computer board at over $1,000 MAY fix the problem. Refrigerator costing over 3 grand needs 1 grand repair after less than 3 years of residential use. Spend your money elsewhere.

Mine too said feature not available. After a service call they had to order a whole new panel which is on back order. Its been 3 weeks with no oven and I dont expect the part will be in for Christmas.

Bought the micro/hood 3 years ago and have had nothing but problems with the micro. Starts beeping and the micro has started on its own. I think it is a safety hazard and will start a fire. Have put it on a power bar and turn it off when we are not home and at night. Had the controls switched out twice now to no avail as it still happens. Kitchenaid is sending their repair man again (Sears repair twice) and now Kitchenaid repair man twice. Both could not find the problem. Tired and scared of this darn microwave and want it replaced and out of my house before something terrible happens.

We purchased a new KitchenAid side x side refrigerator model KFIS29PBMS00 in late 2013. The cooling system failed in July 2014. We have had 9 service calls to date each requiring a 1/2 day of our time waiting for the appointment at home. The freezer has failed totally 3 times and the refrigerator then fails a few days later. We have lost our food three times and had damage to the floor as a result of the ice maker defrosting. Our last service call replaced the last operating part, and it failed in three days. Today, KitchenAid will require 7 to 10 days to determine what to do. And if they decide to replace it, another 2 or more weeks. So we have no refrigerator again for at least a month!!!! We are not happy.

We own two model number KESA907PSS KitchenAid stove/ranges. We have replaced two control panels due to boilovers on the range - spills or boilovers run down into the electronic control panel and short it out, making the oven features unusable. We were able to turn on the oven, but we would have to turn off our breaker to turn the oven off. KitchenAid would replace the part while under warranty, but they would not pay for the service call. Service calls were provided at over market prices of $90 per call. It was easier just to call an independent. Additionally, the knobs on the front of the stove push in and turn on if you barely bump or lean against them. We have accidentally burned/melted items that were on the burner. This is a huge liability for Kitchen Aid I would think. We try to make sure nothing is ever left on our stove top and we check our stoves before we leave our home for fear that someone may have accidentally leaned against the knobs and turned the stove on. Very scary! I will never purchase a major appliance from KitchenAid again. I have smaller appliances for KitchenAid that I have not had problems with.

We purchased the above-captioned refrigerator in February 2013. For many month after the purchase, we dealt with a bottom freezer door that would freeze shut and could not be opened without using tools. After four different repairs, the door was finally fixed. Just this month the freezer and ice-maker completely failed. Initially we were told it was a control board. Luckily, we had a second opinion (which we paid for) to find out what was really wrong. Both evaporators have to be replaced. The freezer has been out for two weeks and will not be fixed until the end of this week. The refrigerator is defective and should be replaced.

Updated on 10/04/2020: When the compressor failed the digital read out display also went. The compressor is covered by 5 year warranty, but not the digital display panel. They failed on the same day?? This is a top of their line unit. (Not cheap). They came out and gave me an estimate of $600 for new digital readout unit. I am at 6 weeks and counting without the fridge and no one can give me a date!Original Review: Appliance was 4 months off first year warranty when compressor failed causing electric control panel to need replacing. Although compressor is covered in second year I was charged for the service call and new control panel (over $600). This was a $2400 bar fridge. I expected better quality and service after purchasing $20,000 in KitchenAid appliances. Not sure this will ever be my brand in the future.

We purchased this KitchenAid Household Ref. from Lowes. 4 1/2 months of owning it there started a loud clicking noise from the back of the unit, ice built up in the veggie drawer that it couldnt shut, and water from the left side of the ref. dripping down into the two shelving parts. Once the door is open along the way the water runs out onto my floor. On the way to close MORE water runs onto the floor and then down the front of the freezer that is on the bottom. Since the issue we have had KitchenAids preferred service AAA out of Howell MI come out for 3 different service calls. Each time I am told, The problem is fixed and you will have no more water leaking. I have white water stains in my trays and the stain on the front of the ref. due to the leaks and sitting water. After calling again today because it is STILL leaking I spoke with Melinda (Customer Service) with all she could offer me was at first a service call at my cost then returned with a no cost, I spoke to Tim (Supervisor for KitchenAid Tennessee office) who explained there was not a thing anyone could to but another service call. Who is going to pay for ANOTHER day off of work? This will be the 4th time I have had to take a day off of work for repairs to this refrigerator. A consumer should NOT have to clean up a water mess every time the unit is opened and the water streak down the front is not appealing. This is obviously an issue with the unit. I asked for the unit to be exchanged with the SAME unit and I was told that You would be eligible for a replacement at a discounted price. Are you serious? I already paid the full price for this unit.Something has to be done to not allow consumers to be buying nonworking items and costing more than the unit itself. I have bought many KitchenAid items and I will never buy again since this incident. The do not stand by the product but keep sending service people who either cant fix the problem or the problem is simply NOT fixable.

I will never buy or recommend KitchenAid products again! We have a $10K built-in KitchenAid refrigerator that is only 4 years old. It has not been working for a month! Every time (9 so far) their certified techs come it goes over temperature again a day or two later. As a result I have had to throw out thousands of dollars of food, over a hundred ounces of breast milk for my 3 month old, wasted days now dealing with Kitchen-Aid and waiting for repairs, and had to endure this beyond frustrating experience just trying to get my fridge working. They should stand behind their products and their warranties and if their certified repair people cannot fix the problem, they should replace the product. KFIS27CXWH2 - We purchased this French door style/bottom freezer style from ABT Electronics in July 2011. Within two years we had leaking under freezer under our wooden floors. We called one serviceman who couldnt detect the issue. Called ABT and they were out approximately 12 times to finally resolve the issue by installing a heater unit in ice maker which happens to be located in the upper left side of the ceiling inside refrigerator. Never again will I purchase a unit with an ice maker in unit vs. freezer. Just after a year and parts warranty expiration - it began leaking again and thankfully I was home to avoid a real disaster and could turn off water. Yet another serviceman was out 2 days again who left stating he couldnt find anything wrong with ice maker. As of today water is not running into ice maker although we do have water in the dispenser on outside door of unit. Has anyone else had this model who has experienced the same issue? Every time I decide to replace the unit - I want to try one more time to remedy this problem.

The issue I am currently having is trying to get a new control panel for our built in refrigerator. The day after Christmas the refrigerator went out. The following Monday I called a local appliance repair business so we could get the refrigerator fixed. They showed up the following day and informed us it was the main control panel that was out and this part was not available. They suggested we either were going to have to have the control panel rebuilt or if that did not work the only solution was to buy another refrigerator. I found that hard to believe so I called KitchenAid and eventually got to the Built-In Department. I was told the part was getting ready to be available and would be ready for distribution on 1-7-16. Was also told until now this part had not been available due to the manufacturer being destroyed in a storm and it had taken them several years to redesign a part that actually worked. I also found that hard to believe. However, I now thought all issues were taken care of and excepted the wait. Well, yesterday I decided to call checking on things only to find the part did not go out as stated and there was still (0) showing in their availability. The parts distribution company that our repair shop orders their product from had not even placed an order because there was still 0 showing available. After several phone calls and talking to several different people my frustrations only grew. It appears that even though the folks in the built in department could see the inventory was available nobody was able to order the part because the part is still not showing up as available in their system. Finally, the part was made available for me to order, shipping at my expense, to be shipped to my repair Co. I also then found out that I would then be responsible for shipping the core back and that I would have NO warranty on a $350.00 part. If the part was ordered through my repair Co I have a warranty and no shipping expense. They were not even willing to ship next day or 2nd day mail. For a part this expensive and with as many issues it appears there have been with it, I decided I needed the warranty so Im back at the mercy of KitchenAid and the wholesale part supplier to get the part to my repair Co. I found the policies at KitchenAid and the procedure they go through to be very non-flexible and not consumer friendly. In addition, we put all KitchenAid products with the exception of our gas stove in our house. We have already replaced the built in Ice maker and the microwave. This will be the last KitchenAid/whirlpool appliance we ever purchase.

We purchased new Kitchen Aid Appliances for a total kitchen remodel 3 1/2 years ago. We also purchased the extended warranty from the people who sold us the fridge (Kitchen Aid Counter Depth Refrigerator with French Doors), range, and dishwasher. Both the range and the fridge have had problems within 2-3 years of use. The range had warranty (from the extended warranty coverage) repairs 3 separate times! Now, the fridges water valve stuck open and flooded the kitchen floor which is 3/4 inch tongue and groove maple hardwood. The extended warranty people (Repair Master) will only cover fridge repairs. (They deny they will cover any collateral damage.) We still have another year and a few months on the fridges extended warranty which would take it to the appliance being 5 years old. The extended warranty people said we have to go to Kitchen Aid for help with the floor damage. Just got off the phone with Kitchen Aid and they denied any obligation since their 1-year warranty was up. So, with what could be several thousand dollars of damage to the kitchen floor, we are forced to place a claim with our homeowners insurance! We have never paid more for appliances in our lifetimes (married 35 years) than we did for what was supposed to the top end appliances such as Kitchen Aid. And then, once Kitchen Aid has your money and a year out of you - you are on your own! We will never purchase Kitchen Aid again. They are simply not Worth IT! And the extended warranties are baloney too! You might as well save your money. Its too bad that big companies dont care about the little guy anymore! Think long and hard before you buy Kitchen Aid!

We have a (just barely) 3 year old KitchenAid refrigerator/freezer that has been very troublesome. First the ice maker was replaced; then the entire front door of the freezer had to be replaced because it had NO insulation; and now the top shelf in the freezer just exploded as I opened the door. There were only 4 small items on the exploding shelf so it was not too full. When I call the customer service number I waited over 20 minutes to speak with a real person who took down info and then transferred me to another person for whom I had to wait another 10 minutes. I explained that it was like a shot -- a boom sound and then tons of small pieces of tempered glass all over me, my kitchen, and into the adjoining office area next to the kitchen. KitchenAid response was that these things can happen -- seriously??? Waiting to receive a replacement shelf and waiting for a supervisor with customer relations skills to call me back.

We purchased our Kitchen Aid dishwasher for about $1000.00, when we renovated our kitchen. From day one, it was not a great appliance. It did not clean the dishes well, and it actually dried specs of food onto plates instead of washing them off. The little compartment that holds the soap started sticking closed within 6 months from purchase. After a couple of years, the door started squeaking very loudly when it was opened or closed, which was followed by the door balance strings snapping, breaking, and throwing the door to the dishwasher wide open. We had to get the balance kit replaced, which by the way currently looks different than the old kit, and actually does not do the same job. Its way tighter. Because the door flew open when the strings broke, it caused the hinges on the side to bend. Those had to be replaced as well. These parts were replaced by a kitchen aid service person. After the parts were replaced, our dishwasher would no longer lock. We were told by the service person that our model had a lot of issues an d the parts that are made now do not match up with the actual dishwasher. When I spoke with Kitchen Aid about this, they played dumb. They told me it was out of warranty and they no longer covered any repairs beyond this. My argument is that they are not even providing people with correct replacement parts to get the units to work correctly, so it seems like they are breaking the rules of warranty by not supplying customers with correct parts. Its very disappointing that they dont do a recall on an appliance that has so many known problems.

I build new houses and new high end rentals. We have in the past used KitchenAid Refrigerators and dishwashers and stoves. I have 20 year old KitchenAid appliance in my own house. I purchased a new refrigerator 2 years ago for a new house I was building. It lasted less than 5 months before total failure. KitchenAid eventually replaced it after I spent 8 hours on the phone. This week a 15 month old KitchenAid dishwasher stopped working. The failure rate for Bosch appliances is about 1/2 the failure rate for KitchenAid. Customer Service for the new KitchenAid sucks at best. KitchenAid is now owned by Whirlpool and cannot care less about the old customers. If you want reliability and customer service buy Bosch or Miele. If KitchenAid cannot warranty their product for both part and labor for 2 years do not buy KitchenAid. After looking at various makes and models of ovens online, we purchased/ordered our KitchenAid wall oven (KEBS107) back in August 2012, waiting for over 2 months for the actual delivery of the new oven. Over the next year and a half, we had occasional issues with the oven not heating properly - sometimes it would pre-heat quickly - sometimes it would seem to take a very long time to reach the desired temperature - especially if I was needing to change the temperature during use. After 16 months of use, the thermal fuse had to be replaced. Apparently the oven door has to be closed at ALL times, especially when broiling. Now, after two years of use, the oven is acting up once again and not heating properly. I purchased an oven thermometer to verify this. KitchenAid is going to cover this 2nd repair, even though I was told that my ESP was not currently in effect (which is another frustrating story that I wont go into). I am thinking at this point that there is a major design flaw with this appliance. Having any sort of electronic/module located just over the opening of an appliance that can get very hot was probably not a good idea. If I cant open the door of a hot oven to check on or remove the contents inside, what good is it????? This oven has been nothing but frustrating pretty much since we bought it!

Our Gas Range/Oven is a little over two years old. It has a self cleaning feature, that you would think I should be able to use. The first few times it worked fine, no issues. I used the self cleaning feature in November of 2017 and received an error message, but didnt really tell me the problem, after it was done the oven door locked and I could not get it to open, even after I tried to cancel and reset. I had to call a repair person, since KitchenAid wanted no part of it, since it was no longer under warranty, how convenient. $180.00 dollars later it was repaired, I needed a new part, since the technician said that with the self cleaning feature it tripped something in the electrical system, and he also added that it will probably happen again. So I have this self cleaning and I cant use it. Unbelievable.Anyway, I did use it again, and no issues, but last night I set to self clean for one hour and guess what, it happened again. My door is locked and the inside oven light is on, and I cant turn it off. I reached out again to KitchenAid, and they were very sorry and would refer this to their support team, but no recalls on my appliance are on file, therefore, they cant do anything for me. Unbelievable, now Im waiting for the repair person again to fix the issue again, and Im the one paying for it. NEVER EVER again will I buy a KitchenAid product. I purchased a French door refrigerator in October 2012 for approximately $2,700. Exactly one year later in October 2013, the freezer went out. This took over 3 weeks to repair with the warranty offered. In that time the refrigerator also stopped working, so we were left with nothing to keep food in. EXACTLY one year later in October 2014, we are experiencing the same EXACT problem with the freezer. We are certain the refrigerator will go out in a day or two. We called the same service company that KitchenAid used and we have an appointment scheduled for 2 weeks in the future. Im convinced they only make these parts last for a year on purpose.

We purchased a KitchenAid dishwasher (Model KDFE304DWH0) on 09/02/2014 from Lowes in Simpsonville, SC. We purchased a 3 year warranty. On 10/05/2016 the dishwasher stopped drying the dishes. We called Lowes. On 10/07/2016 a service tech from WFCC AUTHORIZED SERVICE INC. (ASI) came out and said the (owl??) water sensor needed replacing, and they would order the part(s) and call to schedule replacement. On 10/12 I called ASI and was told they would call me when the part was in. On 10/21 I called Lowes and they could not find out if the part had even been ordered & would get back to me in 7-10 business days. We have now been without the use of the dishwasher for 3 weeks and no repair has been scheduled. Based on my experience, I would not recommend anyone buying a KitchenAid appliance from Lowes.

I am currently replacing a KitchenAid Over-the-Range Microwave Oven (Model KHMS155L). I have had previous issues with the fan. Recently, the door literally fell apart. I was told to replace the unit since the door is too costly. I have decided to replace the microwave with a different brand!

The KitchenAid refrigerator we recently installed (1 week ago on 08/06/2020) model KBFN502ESS02 - a built-in model (at about $9,000.) does not hold -5 degrees F in the freezer. Some of the foods we use like that temperature. The documentation about the model in the User Manual says the set point for the freezer is -5 degrees F to 3 degrees F. We set -5 F into the system. We today 8/12/2020 had a service tech (factory authorized) check the freezer and he found that the average temp in the freezer from the diagnostic panel showed 0 degrees F over the last 10 hours. The factory rep he talked to said that was within specs. There are no specs in any document other than the set point can be as stated above. DO NOT BUY KITCHENAID. Their products look good but don’t believe any documentation or specs.
