A five-year warranty was taken on my KitchenAid fridge. I called after 2 weeks of the delivery, and said that the lower box has a crack. They said they only accept claims of such when reported in 24-48 hours. I had moved to a brand new house; upon appliance delivery we went back to Markham and finally after all furniture was here, with small kids, we planned to stay, so I saw the crack then. After 3-4 days, I called cracks on the wall. They said no worries, that its cosmetic, and no heat or air is going out. Wow! A big expensive brand says that - its sad. Why not disclose this when I went to buy? I spent over $20k on KitchenAid when I built my house. I am very sad with the outcome. I need my fridge changed.

We have had a top-of-the-line KitchenAid dishwasher for over 5 years. This washer gets light use as we eat out a lot and only seasonal residents. The first problem was the failure of the door to stay closed. A repairman came out and we discovered that they use heavy string to attach the door and it broke with a $200 repair. About 6 months later, my wife was pulling out the dish rack and a plastic piece in the track came out. About 2 weeks later, the other sides plastic piece came out and now the entire rack falls down if you pull the rack out too far. Another $210 to fix. None of this should have happened if they used quality dependable parts.

I purchased an all new KitchenAid appliances in 2006 and have had major problems with them. The microwave was a fire hazard because it would randomly start on its own with nothing in it. A service technician was out several times to repair it (three trips in all). Now, the electric range (Model: KESA907PSS02) is not working again! We had the electronic range control and the touch pad replaced within the first year. They were covered under warranty. The same problem occurred this month and KitchenAid (Shari) will do nothing to remedy the problem. The cost to repair the range will be well over $450.00 if we have a technician do the work. I spoke with Shari from KitchenAid and she was not the least bit supportive or apologetic. She kept saying that it was no longer under warranty and there was nothing she could do. They have very poor customer service given my ongoing appliance issues. She was well aware of my appliance issues but was not at all concerned or helpful in providing assistance. We paid more money for the KitchenAid appliances than what we could have spent on other brands because we thought that we were getting premium appliances (definitely not so). Paying more does not mean that they are better! I will never purchase another KitchenAid product and will share my experience with others. They have horrible customer service and poor overpriced products. Shame on them for taking advantage of consumers and not providing a product that stands the test of time. I have paid for this range twice due to the repair costs over the years and I cannot afford to do so especially in these economic times. KitchenAid needs to address consumer satisfaction and produce a better product that warrants the high price tag.

KUPD02CRBL3 Dishwasher starts and after a few minutes the door pops open and it stops... Sometimes when I clean residue near bottom of the door or keep object away from vent in upper left of door, it will run. Unit is 7 yrs old. It has great capacity, is quiet and cleans well... just would like to know what the heck is going on with the door.Updated on 09/25/2015: I used the diagnostic to reset maintenance cycle that was located on the backside of the bottom plate of the dishwasher. So far its working well. Hope this helps everyone... also going to clean out area inside under spray wand to make sure there is nothing in pump area.

Model YKMCS1016GSO microwave, cabinets designed to accommodate this model, 18 months old and the keypad no longer works, some numbers failed first but then the start button failed making this useless, knowing what I know now I wouldnt have accepted this for free, the aggravation and cost of a retrofit (wont be Kitchenaid) far exceed the original purchase, this was a new house with 4 new Kitchenaid appliances, waiting for the rest to hit the proverbial fan. Would not recommend kitchenaid to anyone. I had to select one star as zero was not an option.

I give this zero stars for my safety nothing can compromise that. I had a Kitchenaid stove up until yesterday. It was a stand alone range and for some reason it was putting out a abnormal amount of heat in the kitchen. Also it seemed like I was nauseous some time just standing close to the unit. I put the unit on self clean didnt seem like it worked at all. Had the unit tested by the gas company and they tagged it off as a hazard. The reading on preheat alone was high in carbon monoxide coming out the oven vent. I do not know why these products are so expensive when the quality isnt there. I just replaced the stove with a better brand and my kitchen isnt hot at all...and was tested no readings whatsoever. Stay away from this brand if you value your safety.

I have a refrigerator/bottom freezer. 3 years old and the control board goes out. The authorized dealer has a very bad reputation of causing more issues than actually fixing anything so I went with a reputable repair company... since I didn’t go with the sub-standard company the company wouldn’t stand behind the product even though the company I went with is trained in repairing KitchenAid. From what I understand to be an authorized dealer is up for grabs. The highest bidder gets the authorization. Has nothing to do with their credentials. My entire kitchen is KitchenAid... not any more! This repair should have been covered.

I purchase a KitchenAid Built-in Microwave Model KMBS104ESS02 in 2017. In January of 2020 it wasnt heating and of course our warranty was no longer valid. My husband has worked on microwaves before. He tested the Magnetron, Diode and High Voltage Capacitor and purchased all three new and installed in March of 2020. It worked for approximately 1 1/2 months and went again. He purchased the same parts again on May 20, 2020 costing another $263.27 totalling $526.54 to repair. This lasted through June. He called KitchenAid and was told that it is probably the motherboard and too expensive to replace just get rid of it. So we paid approximately $1,000.00 for the microwave new and spent $526.54 on repairing totalling $1,526.54 and was told to get rid of it. Great customer service response. My husband was so upset he threw it out and purchased a new Frigidaire for 1/3 the cost of the Kitchenaid. How sad is that. I am attaching one of the receipts from May 20,2020 cannot find other receipt. My husband pick up parts from Appliance Parts in Old Bridge NJ in March.

The sliding top shelf of my KitchenAid dishwasher is not sturdy. It requires a moderate amount of skill to use. The shelf must be gripped from below and after loading gently pushed back in an upward motion. When the shelf is pushed back, after loading, the shelf disengages from its roller bars and falls into the bottom shelf; this happens if the person loading forgets or jams the unit. It is difficult to reinstall. I have had to purchase an extended warranty from the distributor to enable normal usage. I purchased the unit and extended warranty from ABT Electronics, Glenview Illinois.

I purchased a KitchenAid refrigerator in April 2012 for $$$. So you know I had a Kenmore for 22 years that this KitchenAid was replacing and I actually sold the Kenmore for $50 because it still worked perfectly. I figured KitchenAid was a top of the line appliance. Ice maker went out within 13 months and after several calls I got them to cover parts and labor to fix it, but thats not the complaint here. Fast forward to 2016. In May 2016 the whole unit shut down and after several calls into CS found out it was my sealed system that went out and it was covered. It took a while to get my money back though. The day before Christmas 2016 my refrigerator went out. Long story short, I called the authorized KA service provider to come back out and they told me it would $450 to repair (again, 3rd major repair in 4 1/2 years while the 2nd major repair in 2016). After receiving the estimate I called KitchenAid CS to talk to them about this but their systems were down and couldnt help me and told me to call back the next day. Not thinking because I had a house full of kids on Christmas break from college I figured I would call back once I got back to work this week. Once I got a hold of someone from KA she told me KA would cover the parts only which I was ok with. She told me she would call the authorized repair company and get it worked out. I told her I already had it repaired because I had gone a week without a refrigerator anyway. KitchenAid wont reimburse a customer, just an authorized repair company. What a piece of ** company. Every time I contact KA they tell me the same thing. Appliances are meant to last forever and they never promised me that. I have another 20 year old GE refrigerator in my garage thats worked perfectly that whole time and I spent like $500 on it. This was my first and MY LAST KitchenAid/Whirlpool purchase.

Built In Side by Side Purchased 1999. In 2000 the ice dispenser started leaking water and the panel in the door discolored. Thank goodness it was fixed at no charge after threatening to sue. Forward to 2016 refrigerator quit working and it took numerous visits to replace a fan, in the freezer, charge with Freon, replace the compressor, forward to 2017 and the refrigerator needed a valve replaced but the valve was discontinued (door from freezer left slightly opened). July 2018 same fan in freezer went out and had to be replaced. One year warranty on fan. I have a side by side Whirlpool from the late 80s and it runs like a top no problems!!!

KitchenAid Superba Electric Double Ovens - We recently purchased the above ovens. They have never worked correctly. There have been four or more service calls. They have replaced the sensors twice. They have replaced the mother boards twice. Each time, the serviceman is hopeful the repairs will work. They have not. Last night, the lasagna took 50% longer to cook as our guests waited. We discovered the oven was actually at 345 rather than the 400 it was set at. A call to KitchenAid was of no help. They said they had a record of only one service call and seemed very unresponsive. I was using my Kitchenaid double oven self cleaning option for the first time. After setting it for the 4 hour cleaning about two hours into the process, I heard a large bang and then saw chunks of glass all over my kitchen! Luckily no one was in the room at the time. My main concern was how to shut the unit down. Do I call Kitchen Aid or the Fire Department?Their customer service line was of no use. The first call was disconnected. The second call told me to trip the circuit breaker. Good call. But needed the exact serial number but I couldnt provide that because of the safety issue. When I am able to open the door I will see if there is a recall or safety issue. Glass is everywhere. Im so glad no one was in the kitchen at the time it blew!

The thermal fuse has blown out several times over the last two years, and is costing money each time. KitchenAid could care less - they are raking in the money as exclusive supplier of the parts. We have other Whirlpool and KitchenAid products, and the process is always the same. Theres no help from the company, no cheap parts, and theres aggravation at a simple machine that is designed to break down. Our Whirlpool dishwasher is designed with too small of a draincock, and it constantly blocks up. I am a repairman, and I am tired of coming home and fixing these ** things. I went over to Maytag and Sub-Zero, and have not regretted it. I now tell all of my customers and friends to not use these products as they will constantly be fixing them because they are designed to fail.

KitchenAid 30 free standing gas range with double oven bought. Beautiful to look at BUT! Have had less than a month and many problems. First gas leaks (they were repaired). My one time to use: baked an apple pie in bottom oven. Preheated to 450, baked pie for 15, then reduced to 350 for 45 minutes. During this time the vent blew so hard on top right burners, it got the top range very hot and impossible to use right burners (vent blew the flames... dangerous). Also top right side got extremely hot... not operating correctly at all. Now dealing with Whirlpool Corp Safety Dept to get them to take this range back... scares me to even think about using it... NOT using it... it is a lemon!!! They say must process/have evaluation by technician and then 3 to 4 weeks to process. BS!!! The order # is the no. with Whirlpool Corp Safety Dept. 553 Benson Road, Benson Harbor, Michigan 49022.

Purchased a KitchenAid KSSC48QTS00 about 4 years ago. New though purchased from a freight damage company so no warranty. Paid just over $3,200 when it retailed for $8,500+ so took the risk. BAD DECISION! Started pinging a few weeks ago, had the factory authorized repair person on site that and was informed of the bad board, no replacement problem so many have posted about. Getting ready to send the board to corecentricsolutions.com as theyve gotten good reviews from others with the same issue. No spare fridge so well sort through and keep what we can fit into a couple of coolers.Amazing how many people have posted online in various places with POOR to WORSE customer service from Whirlpool. Checked and just found **. Im betting we see a lot more of this kind of activism against them. What a croc! We bought our house on May 12, 2012. The house was only 1-year-old at the time and had nice, shiny, new KitchenAid appliances in it. Last week I used the self-clean on my wall oven. After 3 hours and cooled, I wiped out the oven of the debris and found that the pretty blue interior has now changed to ugly grey. I didnt use the oven for a few days after cleaning, but when I did use it, it wouldnt heat up. I tried several times on several different days and temps, and followed the manual on troubleshooting to no avail. So I called the builder and the supplier. I was told only 1 year warranty on appliances. I would have to call a repairman. Well thats just great. For the price that these appliances cost, you would think they would have a better guarantee. Still waiting on what its going to cost me. After reading all these other reviews, if I need a new oven you bet your ** it wont be a KitchenAid.

Purchased a KitchenAid refrigerator Model #KBFS22EWMS7 in November, 2012 along with a 4 yr extended warranty with a price of $1800. The first week in October 2013, there was a big pool of water on the floor near the refrigerator. Pulled out the fridge thinking a hose had been punctured or a connection was loose. But no, that was not the case. All connections on the back of the fridge were dry. Husband checked more thoroughly and could not find where the leak was coming from. Called the customer service number on the refrigerator user instructions and they set up an appointment with a service person. The service person came out on Friday, Oct. 18, 2013, checked all connections and pulled off panels and checked the back and could not find where the water was leaking. He confirmed there is a leak by seeing all the water on the floor, which looks like had been leaking for a while after seeing the edge of the wall with water damage and mold. But he could not find it and could not tell where it was coming from. So he gave my husband a homework assignment to somehow keep a watch underneath the fridge to determine exactly where the leak is coming from. How about that for customer service!!!! Now after seeing all the similar complaints and issues with KitchenAid, I am so afraid that we are in store for a nightmare of our own!!!! Our current plan is to put some type of rubber mat on the floor underneath the fridge and somehow jack up the fridge a little to be able to see underneath to watch for the leak. This is very frustrating and wish now that I had gone with Maytag!!!!

It stops working after about 10 min., then you have to push a few buttons and then it works for about 10 more min. until it stops again, and then finally you have to start the whole cycle over and then it will complete. Its like washing dishes twice! It takes about 2-3 hours for a complete cycle. Also there is a smell that is terrible and after trying dishwashing cleaners, it still smells. Finally, every few months Ive had to take the whole thing apart to clean out the filter area to try to rid the smell. Ive never had so much trouble with a dishwasher!!!! Did you know KitchenAid is owned by Whirlpool which includes Maytag, Jenn-Air, Amana, Kitchen Aid... Pretty much all the heavy hitters from the US fall under the Whirlpool umbrella now. Just keep that in mind as read through all of these disappointing posts about quality, service and general safety. I, like many, replaced my entire kitchen with what I believed was the TOP quality KitchenAid appliances. I bought the KEMS308SSS05 which is a Micro/Convection oven combination. Its failed now 5 times since I purchased new in 2012. I am 4 months outside of the 2 year warranty but the first problems (for which theyve never corrected because it continues to happen) started with the first 90 days.I get sometimes there are lemons at ANY company, we are humans and were not perfect, but a company when realizing their faults need to step up and cure the deficiencies. Thats the difference between an average company and a great company, and sadly whirlpool seems no longer to be or even want to be a great company.

Purchased in April 2013 in BrandSmart USA, model as per attached photo (french door) began showing signs of ice in the back upper left corner. A continuous noise (zzzz) non stopping, louder by the day until I called BrandSmartUSA service. One technician came and, after taking out the lower big drawer and removing the interior back cover, found a ball of ice covering the upper part of the evaporator. He removed the ice and said the evaporator needed to be changed. A few days after, he came back with a fan. Looks like his service experts didnt agree with his assessment and changed it to change the fan.He came back, upset when he realized instead of an evaporator, he got a fan. He removed again the lower drawer, the internal back cover to find out a perfectly functioning fan but an evaporator that is already forming ice again. Im the mean time, another technician came and his diagnostic was that the assembly behind the ice maker/water disposal (see picture, located on top, left inside corner) needed to be replaced. According to him this is the assembly that controls the cool air distribution and its malfunction causes the problems I am experiencing. According to him, it is a common problem of this model. So, after three visits of the technicians a less than two years old refrigerator still doesnt work properly. One theory: change the evaporator, Second theory: change the upper assembly. One thing is certain, I wont buy ever again a KitchenAid refrigerator and will think three times before buying appliances from BrandSmartUSA.

We purchased a very high end Kitchenaid refrigerator. Due to a design flaw (admitted by company as settlement decided upon) we incurred property damage. Due to the Global pandemic parts are hard to come by. Completely understandable. Not the companys fault. Once parts became available the issues with the service department started. We would have to wait online for literally hours at a time in order to speak with someone having to explain our story again and again. No direct number to call. And every time feeling like we were the bad guy. Feeling like we were trying to cheat the system. No one was willing to help us. They would just push us from department to department, manager to manager (never actually speaking with a manager). No one ever making a decision.Ultimately, problem being we live in a small community with limited access to service providers. We live over three hours from a large center. And we’re left on our own to find our own service provider. After we found a service provider Whirlpool would not approve the service provider because it was only one service man. They would only approve a company that had two or more service providers because the refrigerator was too big for one person. When we offered to hire a third-party they refused so we had zero opportunities to have our new refrigerator fixed. After hours and hours on hold and fighting just to get a refrigerator fixed they finally agreed to fix it for the amount that they had originally agreed to and then change their mind but would not send any kind of documentation stating this. So now we have to pay out of pocket hoping that when we submit the paid invoice that they will reimburse us. When asked what the turnaround time for repayment was I was told minimum four weeks. Moral of the story if you live in a small community away from a big service area you will not get your refrigerator fixed without having to pay some out-of-pocket expense. In our experience nothing last forever so if you think you’re going to phone and get warranty you’re wrong so maybe think twice.

I purchased a KitchenAid dishwasher in September of 2010. The purchase price with installation and taxes $800.29. A service call was made March of 2013 with a broken latch. In 2015 the same problem occurred. This year 2016 in September the latch broke again and now its two months later and the panel of the whole electrical circuit board does not work. I am extremely dissatisfied with this product. I actually have never gone online and made a statement as far as dissatisfaction with an appliance. It seems like to me that not only are products made to break with being told I should have purchase an extended warranty which from many of the reviews is an additional waste of money. I wish I had looked at more reviews prior to purchasing the product. Dishwasher model number is kuds30ixbl. I was upgrading appliances and wanted a nicer product. I will never recommend a KitchenAid appliance again. When I spoke with people on the phone it was very dissatisfied. Basically Ill have to say that most companies are no longer concerned with customer service. I plan to look for the cheapest dishwasher I can find with as few electronics and things to break as possible.

My very expensive top of the line, 2 year old KitchenAid fridge (KRMF706ESS) broke. Had service tech out to tell me KitchenAid would have to provide parts and not pay. After weeks, KitchenAid told me they would have to replace the fridge and would have it to us within 2 weeks. A month later and I call to find out its backordered again and they cannot give me a date when it will be shipped. Offered $150 to help me through months of no fridge in my house! I would not recommend buying KitchenAid to anyone at this point! Cant fix nor replace unit!!

I installed a new Kitchen Aid stove in May, 2010. The ovens preheat and self-cleaning features have not been working correctly since I first used the self-cleaning for the first time. I am 85 years old and gave up a perfectly good older GE stove because I could no longer reach the controls on the rear panel and bought this new Kitchen Aid because it has the controls conveniently on the front panel. It was a very bad decision. This is a very expensive junk. If you are considering buying a Kitchen Aid stove, dont do it. I am very unhappy with mine. I recommend you find a good used American-made made product and have it reconditioned by a qualified appliance repair person. I cannot afford this kind of ** product. Now, I do not have a stove that works and cannot afford to buy a new one. I would be happy to be involved in a law suit against Kitchen Aid.

I asked around before buying my last dishwasher, hoping to find a brand and a model that would last for some time. Instead, I purchased a Kitchen Aid from Sears. It stopped working last weekend, so we called a Sears for repair. They were booking appointments more than two weeks out. Next, we called a reputable, independent appliance repair shop, and they told us that our dishwasher had a defective motor that would cost more than $500 to replace. So between purchasing the product, paying for delivery, paying for install, then paying for a repair tech to come out and tell me that the dishwasher needed a new motor, I am into this Kitchen Aid dishwasher for more than $1,325 for a dishwasher that didnt even make it to two years of light service.Kitchen Aid should be ashamed of itself for selling an expensive product that couldnt handle 3 washes per week over a year and a half. Their standards and workmanship are not to be trusted, and Im stunned that such an expensive piece of equipment had such a short life. I conclude by saying that I will never buy a Kitchen Aid appliance again, and I dont recommend that anyone who reads this become a customer either.

My wife and I built a new house and moved in 8/2003. We purchased all KitchenAid appliances. We had to replace the ice maker twice on our 2003 refrigerator. The 2003 range top stove control panel does not work properly. The 2003 microwave completely stopped working at the end of 2011. The front door cracked in 2008 since it hits a screw at the underside. Our 2006 professional, heavy duty mixer broke in July 2012, my wife uses it about 15-20 times a year. How pathetic. They should be ashamed of the quality of all their appliance products.

Same as thousands who have bought Kitchen Aid ovens, I bought a complete KitchenAid kitchen. I have the convection oven and convection microwave built in. Whenever we use the clean on the oven, it burns out the thermal fuse and KitchenAid gives no help. The model is KKUDS40FVSS and costs about $2000 of self-cleaning that doesnt clean. I have always owned KitchenAid appliances. We thought they were the very best. I purchased a new stainless steel electric oven. The first time I cleaned it a fuse was blown. The oven has to be removed from the wall to fix it. I then realized that every time I used the self-cleaning it would blow the same fuse. After about 6 times I asked the repair man what could be causing this to blow and he said, I see this all the time so dont use your self-cleaning and it wont happen. Why buy self-cleaning if you cannot use it? So I used it again before Thanksgiving and another repair man from another company came out and had to order the fuse so no oven for Thanksgiving. I told him something must be causing the fuse to blow with the extreme heat cleaning the oven. He told me the same thing the other repairman said, Dont clean it. I have owned a double KitchenAid oven in the past that was wonderful and never had a problem. My other appliances are KitchenAid but after paying all this money for what I thought was one of the best I will never buy KitchenAid again.

Every Kitchen Aid appliance we own has failed. We have had multiple repairs to the refrigerator (compressor failed), dishwasher (door hinges made of cord failed), oven (multiple problems), microwave door, etc. Only after I started blogging all over the internet, did Whirlpool partially compensate us for repairs (that is a very long story). This month, the plastic tabs holding the vent above the microwave broke, and the oven racks rusted when I washed them. The oven self-cleaning cycle doesnt work very well either. I will never, ever, buy a Kitchen Aid product again. I will tell my story everywhere.

Our 7 year old KitchenAid Kss42QMSO1 side by side started chirping, the internal control panel lights were flashing and we could not adjust or control the temperature using the buttons. I first called the Kitchen Aid HELP LINE (that is an oxymoron). Talking to the fridge would have been just as helpful and all they were interested in doing was dispatching a service man, when he showed up we were advised that it was the control board # W 10219463 that had failed. When I asked the cost to replace it he advised that it was no longer available because the factory in Japan had been destroyed by the Tsunami. This was two years ago, and this huge company had done nothing to create a new supply?? Can you imagine Toyota or Sony using that excuse? Our only option was to send the control board to Chicago for repair and have the fridge / freezer out of commission for 3 to 4 weeks, also we had to sign some kind of a liability waiver. I thanked the service man and advised I would get back to him, then I started to surf the net and after some time I came across this web site and thankfully the blog from Chris in North Van. I live in White Rock and if I knew your address I would drop off a very good bottle of wine on my way to Whistler. Thank you, after reading your info I asked the service man to come back and remove the board. However he said he was prevented by Whirlpool / Kitchen Aid from doing this unless it was sent to Chicago. I contacted another excellent service man who is independent and had him do the removal. I would say unless you are very mechanical you would be better to go this route. He also advised that it was often the evaporator fan that caused the circuit board malfunction. Once it was removed I found it to be exactly as per the photo from Chris. I was able to locate the capacitor from SMI Industrial Electronics in the nearby suburb of Langley, it is a 22ouf 10X12 HI TEMP CAPACITOR 85 o and cost the princely sum of 36 cents (I even purchased a spare). I then took this to an electronics repair man who tested and removed the defective capacitor and installed the new one in less than 5 minutes, he would not even accept any payment. I would advise that unless you are used to working on circuit boards and have a very fine tipped soldering iron I would use an expert, even if he charges you. It would be easy to short out the wires with too much solder. I took this home and the service man came back and installed the circuit board and a new evaporator fan which for some reason is a stock item and in about 1/2 hour the fridge was humming, no chirping and we were able to set the freezer for 0 F and the fridge for 37 F. The temperatures both initially read the 70 F air temp. but started to fall quickly and a few hours later we heard the first ice being made and everything is working just fine. Our total bill including the fan was $260.00. Thanks again Chris, and like you I am amazed that the so-called help line would not advise of this. I am fairly certain our first service man knew of this option because when I told him about the info from Chris he was not the least bit surprised. He probably would be blacklisted if he went against the companys policies. Good Luck!

We have owned this refrigerator for 7 years, and it started to leak. Wood floor and all the other issues included. Since we had extended warranty, we contacted the company. Although it did take longer than I hoped to have them come out, but thank goodness we think the problem is fixed, thanks to a great serviceman from A&E. He was an older repairman, and I give credit to that. He seemed very experienced and it was fixed within one and a half hour. After I read all the reviews before he came I was very discouraged, but he explained what the problem was and it sure makes sense. When he came, he removed the panel, defrosted all the ice and blew air through the drainage hose. Once the drainage hose was cleaned out, we found in the drain pan a plug of vegetables (frozen kale) He explained that this must have fallen on the bottom of the freezer, ended up in the drainage hose and plugged it up.Once it was all cleaned up, we have not had a problem. So what is of great importance in the future is that a person does not let pieces of vegetables fall into the bottom of the freezer. Because it might get stuck again into the drainage hose. I hope I have saved other owners from this misery and maybe prevent you from the same problem we had.

I had 2 different KitchenAid Dishwashers in 9 years. Neither lasted more than 5 years. One only lasted 4 -- AND I bought the 5 year warranty. However, it doesnt cover the PUMP which broke. What is the use!?! I am so frustrated. I was dismissed by their customer service, and just told sorry. Well, that is certainly not good enough. This is a rip-off. If you are ok with spending over $800 every four years, good for you, but I am not. I called repair people in my area and they said the minimum cost to repair is 400. They said that model was not good to begin with, but I researched and researched, and I trusted the name. But they dont stand behind their product to even have parts in their warranty. I have to buy a new dishwasher, and I looked here for recommendations. I hope this helps someone avoid a KitchenAid mistake.

I have had my refrigerator for about 4 years (MOD: KSSC42QVS02). I have had a multitude of problems with the unit ranging from a broken ice maker, frost causing a leak from the freezer, but most frustrating is a repeated problem that the refrigerator will not cool appropriately. I have had 5 service visits from an authorized repair person and now am told I have to buy a part because there is a known issue with the one that shipped with the unit. Since I had reported this problem within the first 12 months and it was never fixed, I assumed it would be covered. Instead I get into a circular conversation with customer service reps who are obviously trained to say no. At this point Ive spent close to an additional $1000.00 for a refrigerator that is 4 years old. This had led me to boycott any future KitchenAid or related company products.

DONT BUY!! This range DOES NOT CLEAN!! The technology of AquaLift Self Clean is falsely advertised. Do not use oven cleaners. No commercial oven cleaner or oven liner protective coating of any kind should be used in or around any part of the oven. Quote from manual. Dictionary: self-clean (of oven, filter, etc) - having a mechanism to clean itself. They have a customer service number dedicated to the AquaLift Self Clean system. This model, #KGRS202BSS, vents out thru center of oven door, venting out the front top of door positioned immediately below the range top handles causing handles to heat to VERY HOT! The oven tempered glass is cleaned by removing the whole door, disassembling - then cleaning both panels inside of glass & outside! HAZARD. A scratch to tempered glass can compromise it. NO one tells you that; do they!! How does this help improve to free up your schedule? What surface does one place the door on to clean it? HAZARD is cumbersome, possible breakage and injury while handling. Black stove top is NOT porcelain & stains permanently... as do the burner caps and burner flame tops. The top non-fingerprint stainless by panel scratches incredibly easy. It takes a long time to heat to desired temperature. UPSIDE: Range is attractive looking if thats all you require out of a range.Beware, KitchenAid is not customer complaint friendly to resolving issues - read reviews, they just keep sending out repairmen! They will chase you around the Cuckoo Clock! Once out of warranty, they will not talk at all! Check out the BBB complaints too! From www.whirlpoolcorp.com: We are the number one major appliance manufacturer in the world, with approximately 20 billion in annual sales. We provide purposeful technology that helps free up your schedule for what really matters. We feel that our products positively impact your life right now. Mission: Create Demand and Earn Trust. We are NOT feeling this right now!! They manufacture just about every brand, hmm.. monopoly springs to our minds. They are a global company. The sad part, this type of technology is fast becoming the future of all ranges! Why not! Whirlpool owns just about every brand so what they do becomes the design of all our product choices.

When I had my brand new Superba Microwave Convection Oven installed, it did not work. The light came on and the timer counted down as if the oven was on but the microwave never turned on. The manufacturer would not replace it and I was furious. The warranty only covers repairs. It never worked from day 1. After three visits by repairmen over 7 weeks, the broken part, the appliance manager was installed and it worked temporarily. Then a few weeks later, the same thing happened. My builder was disgusted and took the oven out and gave me a brand new model (Whirlpool/KitchenAid wouldn’t). It was the same model but a brand new unit. After a few months, I had a similar problem and the repairman came out. And guess what, it’s the appliance manager again. I do not want this model back in my house. I purchased a five-door KitchenAid refrigerator model number KRMF706ESSOO that was delivered 9/23/16. The refrigerators top right-hand door had rust on it & the ice maker did not worked at delivery nor the day after. The ice maker has been replaced 4 times and the water valve 3 times. Today is December 22nd 2016 and after seven attempts of the service techs that Whirlpool sent to make the repairs so that we can have ice we still have no ice. Because the water has always leaking out of the Chute of the ice makers, that they keep replacing and the water valves that they keep replacing wont seal at all where the two grommets are located the water continually leaks out around the grommets and tubes that supply water for drinking and ice for the ice maker. I have to keep towels inside my refrigerator to collect to the water that comes through the vent holes and drips on the shelves inside the refrigerator or choose to turn the water off completely to the refrigerator. Therefore not being able to have filtered water (because of the seriousness of the defects we turned the water off today to the refrigerator). The repairman had to replace the electronic control board on the drawer that has the temperature selection for your meats, cheese, etcetera because the water linkage shorted out the control panel. The water leakage at the top is so heavy that the 4 light panels were fill with water. Today when the technician took the panel off, it took three full-size bath towels to clean up the water mess. My husband and I are exhausted worrying about the refrigerator electrically shorting out.We feel like KitchenAid company is guilty of neglect & have a defective product and unsatisfactory service technicians that they have certified and require you to use. The tech today a new company that repairs refrigerators (not the company that KitchenAid originally schedule the repairs & said that we had to use) told us that there is a manufacturer defect & theres a aftermarket kit that has to be put on this model refrigerator in order for the ice maker to work and make ice and prevent the water from leaking out of the front of the ice maker. First of all they have to put a defrost element on our ice maker!!! Can you believe that? When the tech took the back of the refrigerator off there was solid wall of ice so now we have to have a defroster on the icemaker. Next the temperature has to be below 37 degrees in order for the ice maker to work; therefore, and aftermarket installation add-on kit to keep the cold air inside the refrigerator compartment has to be ordered and installed. The repair technician showed us at the back of the refrigerator where the cold air is leaking out at the back of the refrigerator that we never noticed before or would have considered a manufacture defect and design flaw; we were just dumbfounded at the amount of air leakage out of the refrigerator compartment to the outside of the refrigerator. There should be a class action suit against this FOR PROFIT (in my personal opinion only) driven company that would put their customers /consumers through this. Greed is rampant. Weve spoken with the supervisor at KitchenAid (after not getting any satisfaction from the call center customer complaint center). We were told that KitchenAid makes NO lemons NOR defective products. KitchenAid MAY be in complete denial or must have a phone script that they are required to read from. They voice record every conversation for their benefit. To collect all the facts and then deliver the same tired phrases Were not going to do anything other than to replace parts. The food that I have lost theyre not replacing. The seven or eight days of missed work (that I didnt get paid for) too bad theres no compensation. The time Ive spent complaining taking pictures and documenting the neglect and defects and telling them has been in vain because they keep saying your only option is for us to keep sending repairmen and replacing parts; were sorry youre having a problem.Well if youre sorry make a decent product that people do not have to go through hell after theyve spent a fortune purchasing their brand refrigerator. My money is now in KitchenAid pocket and they refused to replace my lemon refrigerator nor give me customer satisfaction thus far. I will have to keep taking off work and work with repairmen unless I resort to hire an attorney to save myself time and aggravation. Ive asked them to give me a new refrigerator and they wont do it.

We purchased a KitchenAid wall oven KEBS107SSS in March 2012. This oven does not turn off and just keeps hot air blowing into the kitchen for at least an hour or longer after pushing the off button. The sales person at the high end appliance store we purchased it from said to turn off the power to the oven, which we did as it had a dedicated breaker switch. Then the oven just latched automatically, wouldnt open, and had a nice error message on the screen. Took the repairman over two weeks to get the part to fix the latch as he said that was the problem.... thats why the oven doesnt turn off efficiently??? I cant get anyone from KitchenAid to even answer my phone calls and I truly dont think the repairman has a clue as to why this oven wont turn off. Do not buy a KitchenAid oven. We are so disappointed in this appliance, but cant afford to get it replaced. Stuck with it, but it will probably completely break down in the next two to three years.

We purchased a KitchenAid slide in gas range, over range microwave and dishwasher in 2007 when we renovated our kitchen. We have had to replace the control panel twice because when we attempted to self clean, it overheated and locked up. After reading other reviews, I am grateful the glass didnt break as well. The off button for the oven no longer works. Our work around is using the cook duration feature and setting it for 1 minute when we are finished using it. I couldnt tell you the model since everything has melted off the inside of the oven. The top grates broke almost immediately, the knobs are hot and the color has worn off. What I find most upsetting is the over range microwave starts by itself and beeps randomly and then shuts off with an F2 error. We have kept it unplugged when not in use. Out of principle, we have not wanted to replace these as we paid a considerable amount thinking we were buying quality. While apparently the microwave is known to start fires and Kitchenaid never sent us notification. Now our front burner on the stove is having excess gas and conducting mini explosions. We have had to repair the dishwasher multiple times as well. What garbage! I cant believe all of the reviewers who have the same problems and the KitchenAid does nothing to correct the flaws in their appliances. Never, NEVER AGAIN!

We purchased a Kitchenaid dishwasher about 3 years ago. KUDS35FXSSO. This dishwasher had the wheels on the top rack fall apart within the first 2 years. Then just days ago, the main controller just stopped working. It looked like the controls were not getting power. So we called Whirlpool and they sent out a local company to see what was wrong. I had to pay $100 for them to tell me that the controller is known to go out and be defective. Also the internal control box was hanging by the wires, also known issue and has caused fires. I also found out the valve was not working so the top sprayers were not getting water so they were not cleaning the top dishes. The parts for these items are covered from years 2-5, but not labor. Total labor cost for all of this plus the previously mentioned cost is around $300. That is not to mention that a heating error was also found (another known issue) but not covered by the warranty. My question is if all of these are known issues, and have occurred to many people, why are these dishwashers not recalled? Or why hasnt there been a class action lawsuit! I will not have them fix this piece of garbage, just so I can pay again down the road to replace or have it fixed again.

Whirlpool/KitchenAid is a terrible company that makes terrible products. Our built-in refrigerator was one month out of warranty when the evaporator stopped working properly. Cool, no problem, well just order a new one and get it fixed. That was last October 2016. Flash forward to March 2017, they sent the incorrect part 3 times. Now they say they dont make the part anymore. Their solution?? Buy a new $8000 fridge from them... Oh, but well give you a small discount. What a joke. PLEASE, please do not support or buy anything from KitchenAid. They will turn their back on you when their terrible products inevitably break.

My three-year-old twin-door freezer is giving me many headaches and nobody seems to know what is going on or how to fix it. The problem is that about every two weeks, it freezes a cold air passage between the freezer and the refrigerator, blocking it with solid ice, causing it to make a stronger noise than normal and finally going into over temperature alarm since the refrigerator keeps going up in temperature. We have had the visit of two factory-trained technicians to try to remedy this problem but to no avail. Any clues???

I am a semi retired senior that saved to purchase my last (what I thought at the time) kitchen range. I have owned KitchenAid ranges in the past and have been very pleased. There were two reasons I purchased this particular brand, it doesnt make any fan noises and for the self cleaning system. To my delight the stove is very quiet and allows an option to turn off all the normal beeping noises and the elements work well. That being said I have never been so disappointed with an oven cleaning system, it DOES NOT WORK AT ALL and yet the company continues to produce this system misleading the public. To me this is a criminal offense except I have no way to make them accountable. I am so disappointed with KitchenAid that they would associate themselves with such an inferior product. It is crucial for me to have a self clean oven and as one of thousands I am now stuck with a product I have come to hate in my kitchen. I am an avid cook and now find there are many products I am unwilling to cook as I have no way to clean my oven. I made wonderful Yorkshire puddings the other night and my husband spent two hours trying to clean the oven but the interior is so shoddy (not really a porcelain coating just some cheap material that cant withstand a proper cleaning and wont come clean with water being heated to 200F doesnt matter how many times you try). The first time after I used the self clean (I have only had the stove for 4 months and cleaned it 5 times) I sat down and cried, having spent so much money and having so much disappointment was a bit overwhelming. I called the place I bought it, they are really great, said the only thing they could do was to sell me a different stove at cost. I appreciated that but I now dont have the funds to do this or I would just to get rid of my stove. I have an extended warranty but this is not considered a warranty issue. I really have trouble with KitchenAid not standing behind their product but more so with a problem they know exists but keep producing, and as consumers we seem powerless to enforce change. As a side note, the oven wasnt hot enough and it does have an option to calibrate the temp. but even so because the oven is not well insulated or made of quality porcelain. During the cooking the temp. can drop as much as 50 degrees before it heats up again which can really affect the cooking process. So all around in general not very happy.

We bought a brand new, 48 built-in refrigerator kssc48qts02 in Aug. 2008. Two years ago the electronic motherboard had to be replaced to the tune of almost $1000. Now our thru-the-door water dispenser is leaking. Had 2 different companies look at it with the same diagnosis... 1). The water line is broken 2.) There is no way to repair the line as it is built into the freezer door 3.) The freezer door needs to be replaced 4.) THEY NO LONGER MAKE THE FREEZER DOOR!!! Come on KitchenAid, you used to make good products. What happened? The refrigerator is only 8 years old and was very expensive to begin with. Another thousand in repairs. And now they no longer make this product? MAJOR DESIGN FLAWS.

My 7 months fridge is broken since end of January, high temperature in fridge and freezer area. Service man come on Feb3, run diagnostic test and left. He said it may need some parts. Called him next day that is not working. I was told no parts in stock, 3 weeks later serviceman show up with no parts and starts to look for leaks, found couple, fridge still is not working. Your warranty doesnt tell you when they will replace fridge. I was told 21 days then whenever serviceman will say it is beyond repair. This brand name doesnt stand for quality or consumer satisfaction. Still waiting for parts and no guarantee when it will be fixed or replaced.

I read a post where someone said their KitchenAid fridge had finally broken
I read a post where someone said their KitchenAid fridge had finally broken down after 15 years and that it served her well. Major appliances used to last decades, and still should last that long. Think about how much you pay for them 15 years is nothing. Our fridge has a pull down bin in the door that pops open every time we open the door. Even with nothing inside, rendering the space useless. Plus, the bottom of the freezer pools with water which then turns to ice making it impossible to close the freezer door. So far I have had to unplug it and thaw it out five times. If that sounds like nothing, remember you have to put all your groceries somewhere. Tonight instead of enjoying the beautiful summer evening, I made many trips up and down the basement stairs bringing groceries back into the fridge. My oven is also a mess. The knobs get so hot that my friend burned her arm on them. I cant imagine how this passed inspection. NOT SAFE if a toddler was around. Thats okay because she was in the middle of a remodel and was considering my oven until that happened, and I filled her in on the rest. Also, the back panel on the stove is made of resin! I thought it was stainless in the store. So needless to say it is peeling. I guess that is the reason they had the stupid idea to put the smaller burners in the back and the mega burners in front. So much fun trying to reach over a large pot of boiling water to stir a small saucepan in back. Does KitchenAid have third graders designing their appliances??? Clearly not someone who has any knowledge of a cooks needs. I will never purchase anything by KitchenAid ever again. Not even a can opener.

Our KitchenAid Double Oven has had consistently horrible problems with both upper and lower door hinges for the last 10 years. Thank God we opted for an extended appliance warranty because after every holiday with lots of use, we need to have the hinges replaced on one or both oven doors. Our KitchenAid stainless steel 5 burner built-in cooktop with Downdraft Vent has also needed replacement four times in the last 10 years and has been repaired five times in between the replacements due to the burners failure to light, or the burning of the bottom of our pots and pans due to burner malfunctions needing the burners to be removed and replaced.

Dishwasher model KUDS03CTWH2 - Have had this dishwasher for about 6 to 8 years. It never washed dishes clean from day 1. Had a repair man out twice while it was under warranty. His answer was it is energy efficient. In other words it saves energy but does not wash dishes. I now use Heavy Duty cycle along with Pro Scrub for one wash and first need to soak my dishes and silverware. Much of the silverware does not clean. It cost us $1200.00. I will definitely never buy Kitchen Aid again. We are not happy with our stove or refrigerator which were bought at same time.

We have had ongoing problems with our dishwasher model KDFE104DSSI, which we purchased as part of a total kitchen set of appliances for install in the fall of 2015. Since the first year of purchase, we have had four (4) electronic keypad replacements, as well as, other problem parts. Each time the technician assures us that this is the only working part and with the *new* keypad, the problem will be solved. Well, the problem has not been solved and we are left to wonder why they will not just replace the dishwasher with something that does not stop working every 4-6 months. We are always asked if we purchased the warranty and we have not as this is a continuing problem and we should not have to pay them to fix something that has not worked properly since the first year of purchase. Nor should we have to pay to have a technician to come replace a part (which generally requires a month to order and return visit to install) over and over again. Dishwashers that cost half of this monster are more reliable and clean better as even when this thing is working we have to pre-wash our dishes! We are extremely disappointed in this dishwasher and our KitchenAid (Whirlpool) experience.

This cooks to the exact time specified. I would buy this oven or recommend this oven over and over again.

A really poor finish, the high level of engine noise is noticeable in the day!! And a bad customer service. On May 27, 2016 at Home Depot I bought a KitchenAid Refrigerator which at the time of the delivery was damage by the people who delivery it. I kept the refrigerator for a few days until the next delivery. The new equipment started making unusual noise. We contacted KitchenAid again who sent a technician who did not find any problem according to him The sound is normal. Another technician was contacted since the freezer started making ice on one side not the other. He came to fix the issue, but resulted in burning the appliance for which we have evidenced of in pictures. According to him, the problem was fixed but a bigger damage was created on the lateral side of the fridge. The problem was reported to KitchenAid, who told me that another technician would be sent from another company. The last technician came, saw the unit and said that the problem could be resolved with an add on kit based on what KitchenAid told him because those units had several recalls and complaints for the same issue. The technician came with the accessory and this kit is not for this unit 2016. The kit is a fan that is located in the ice maker which is located at the top, not in the freezer where is the biggest problem, and the tech found more problems, filtration and dripping water in the drawers of vegetables. That waste of time and lack of knowledge and effectiveness by the representative of KitchenAid. I want a new unit or my full monetary refund. Ive had the unit only for three months and it is unacceptable. I have pictures of how I received the unit and the damages made by the technicians. I have contacted on several occasions 4 time technical visits and still have the same problem. I still waiting for any answer.

I had this KitchenAid stovetop for 13 years KDRP407HSS4. Suddenly, without warning the broiler went on. I turned off the electricity at the fuse box. I turned it back on and this time the clean cycle went on while the knob was in the reset position. It created a fire. I was there to put it out. This is scary when a stove can turn itself on without a person doing it. If anyone else had this issue, please reply. I see some people had explosions. If you have a KitchenAid I would make sure it does not start on its own.

Ive had this dishwasher model KUDS30iXSS4 with stainless steel tub for 5 years and the only way to get dishes clean is to set it for pot scrubber and on the longer cycle. The top rack has plastic wheels to roll it in and out that completely broke off so it cant be used. Replacement parts are over $135 and I dont know if I can fix it myself. Ive had dishwashers last 15+ years with 0 problems so I think this one isnt living up to expectations. I bought the stainless tub because I thought it would last. I can see from these reviews the top shelf wheels are a major design fault. Many complaints about the plastic wheels breaking off as well as other plastic pieces failing. When I replace this and Im sure I will have to, I wont replace it with another KitchenAid.

Our KitchenAid electric wall oven indicated temperature drops 50-60 degrees whenever the temperature is adjusted or if the door is opened momentarily. Then its necessary to wait 10 to 15 minutes for the temperature to rise and for the timing to begin or resume. Weve used other brand ovens and this has never happened with them. The KitchenAid Chat respondent says it was designed this way. Hard to believe, since they must have had numerous complaints about this problem. These days, with all the enthusiasm about home cooking, such a design problem is a very bad one, and very unacceptable for anyone interested in cooking at home. We certainly advise against buying any KitchenAid product if this indicates the quality of their designs and response to problems.

Then when I set the buttons to run the washer, it would act like it was going to start, then cancel and drain! Found out today from the repairman that this is a common problem. The pump is out! Says this happens frequently usually within the first 5 years! Thankfully I did purchase the extended warranty but on a dishwasher that cost nearly $1,000 one should not have to! I will NEVER purchase a KitchenAid again! Also, bought KitchenAid Refrigerator a year ago. And have already had to replace the ice maker and had a service call about a leak in one of the hoses! Model KDTE104ESS - purchased 13 months ago; 3rd dishwasher we had - others
Model KDTE104ESS - purchased 13 months ago; 3rd dishwasher we had - others changed with kitchen upgrades, never had a failure such as this. Previous dishwashers were Kenmore, Frigidaire; latter was a very basic model; in same residence 32+ yrs, kids (3) no longer part of current household. Dishwasher used 6-7 times per week in household of 2, with my wife cooking 5-6 days a week; moderate use, rarely use heavy-duty clean cycle with present dishwasher. This model has a 2-stage filter (fine, coarse), with recommended cleaning varying from once/2 months to yearly. We did not clean it since new, since we scrape dishes, do minimal pre-wash or none - our usual practice for 32 yrs in present house, 6-8 yrs in prior house. When dishwasher quit draining, checked filters, small amount of residue (1/2 tsp or less), no significant coarse grit seen. Noted no discharge from DW via exhaust tube with 3 successive cycles. I watched running empty DW. Had purchased an extended warranty for a year (3 appliances, range, fridge & DW), all purchased together, all KitchenAid, 13 mos ago with complete kitchen remodeling after 22 yrs since last remodeling.Repairman (under warranty) checked machine, found exhaust pump clogged with debris, failed; emptied some particulate matter from exhaust tube into a bucket, looked like congealed fat, a few parsley & other leafy matter. No hard grit seen. He did say that matter had been pulled past the filters (couldnt say why other than pump has a suction like a vacuum), though neither filter was even moderately clogged.KitchenAid approved a $300 plus sum for pump replacement; their consumer services could not answer my query as to how so much debris got past the filters to cause pump failure within 13 mos. This model does not have a grinder as in next higher model, but again, there was not much particulate debris I could see; pump was not yet removed, so will wait to see what it looks like.In summary, very disappointed with this early pump failure, with way less usage than in prior dishwashers that functioned well for a family of 5 for 10 yrs, and 22 yrs respectively. Believe Kenmore is made by Whirlpool, the parent company of KitchenAid, so the design, though older, is I feel similar. Modern DW detergents (we use the satchets, not powder or liquid) recommend NOT scraping too much food residue off dishes, to allow triggering of enzymatic action for cleaning dishes. We rarely see residue, occasional baked on material such as egg yolk, which we now clean off; no pots go in DW, rare baking dishes, which we scrub off in the sink. So we dont feel this DW was overworked.Writing this while searching for others with similar pump failures, trying to understand why two levels of filters failed to protect a pump that obviously is rather delicate, hence recommendation by KitchenAid Consumer Services now that every month we run an empty cleaning cycle with an Affresh tablet to clear the system. BTW, weve never seen hard-water residue inside any of our dishwashers; the prior two did not have stainless steel interiors, never required special interior cleaning with bicarbonate etc., for any build-up; we get city water, pipe-bourne, just flushed out my gas water heater after 4-5 yrs, saw a small amount of milky flow at beginning of drainage, then clear; I have a water filter at my house cold-water intake; the water (filtered) in the fridge is always clear, no problems with ice-makers over 32+ yrs, no hard-water cum anywhere.KitchenAid has no answer for us other than the Affresh cleaning cycle; we use a comparable DW detergent to the recommended Cascade, not Cascade Platinum as recommended; anybody with a similar problem, either with KitchenAid dishwashers or any Whirlpool family dishwashers (include the high-end Jenn-Air brand now)? Am feeling very disappointed with this choice right now, will expect another pump failure in 1-2 yrs, if so will look for remedy from KitchenAid, or else...!Can scan receipt of purchase from Lowes store locally if required. I have no repair order number, as requested below. Do have extended warranty # if required. We had Sears brand appliances in our old house (8 years), still have Sears (Kenmore) washer and dryer, 3 sets over 43 yrs of married life, 2nd set in this house, first set lasted 24 years, top-loaders, replaced when laundry room was remodeled, now with HE front loaders that are currently 8+ years old. Some repairs were needed, recall replacing motor of current washer when motor-bearing became noisy.

We have a Kitchenaid Superba stove and oven model KGRT607HWH6. It was in our house when we moved in 2004. It has a glass backsplash. Three years ago the backsplash exploded with my 10 year old twin sons and a teenage friend and myself standing within three feet of it. We are lucky we were not hurt. I think the pots cooking on the stove may have been touching the backsplash and it just got too hot. But, what a stupid design for a stove top! The repairman did order a new backsplash for $100. For years I would find tiny pieces of glass stuck in corners and crevices in my kitchen. I guess I should be ashamed to admit it, but I have never used the self-cleaning feature and the oven is quite dirty. We purchased a stainless steel KitchenAid bottom freezer refrigerator in September 2013. It was fine for a year, but suddenly the PO sign showed up on display board and nothing has been right since then. Upon calling Whirlpool (30 minutes on phone) they suggested we call the repair companies listed on their website. First company we called was Diamond Repair and that guy fiddled around and since he could not figure out the problem, told us that the fault was with the outlet in our brand new built house! Ok, so we called the builder and they looked at it and declared it fine but changed it to a brand new one. Problem continued with the constant beeping and PO symbol on. Then I called Maytag company to look at it and that has been a nightmare. After the first tech left, our water dispenser that was working fine till then, stopped dispensing. They said that maybe it was a coincident that it failed and their tech was not at fault. What!!! They are simply unhelpful. Their techs come out and between the two visits they have changed each and every circuit board, to no avail. Much to our chagrin, whenever I call Whirlpool customer service center, and speak to a manager, they make me repeat the problem, promise me that they will call back and I never hear from them!! One time they supposedly ordered new door for this fridge, but the tech from May-tag came with new circuit boards and did know anything about any door being ordered. I wash my hands off Whirlpool company. The fridge was clearly a lemon. In all the years of owning several refrigerators, this has by far been the worst fridge we have owned but the Whirlpool customer service has been pathetic, to say the least. I will make sure none of my next appliance is even partly owned by Whirlpool!

The model number is KFIS29PBMS02. Initially I was having issues with the ice maker and freezer and the PO code which means powers failure. I was told to have an electrician check the outlet which I did and it was fine. They then said it was a circuit board but didn’t know which one and they recommend replacing both which we did. No sooner did they leave and the code popped up again. They said it must have been a bad board and replaced another board. After they left it acted up again. Tech came out and said it was a bad deli board which is the last thing the company wants to replace due to the cost. I told them ice machine is still not working right. He said I may need a new machine. I couldn’t afford one at this point after taking numerous days off from work to meet the repairman. Fridge had also frozen up and the guy defrosted with his heat gun and said KitchenAid knows that the condensers are bad because they are aluminum and they have been replacing them. Fridge froze up again, ice maker makes ice randomly say a tray a week if lucky. I put bought ice in the dispenser and it melts. They are coming to replace the condenser this week after making arrangements for someone to stay at my house to wait for the repairman.Talked to different repairman today before he came and told him the problem and he said it may not be the condenser which is under warranty still (5 years). Frustrated as hell and think there is class action status here. Customer service at Kitchenaid sucks. They do not care and basically told me I didn’t put enough money out to qualify as a lemon.

The electric oven boards need to be replaced for the second time! After usi
The electric oven boards need to be replaced for the second time! After using the self-cleaning feature, the oven went out. The door remains locked and none of the push pad buttons work. The hot temperature fried the board, this is my second board in 2 years.

I am grateful for the microwave I have. When you do not have a lot of money
I am grateful for the microwave I have. When you do not have a lot of money you tend to use things as long as possible. I have had this microwave for 8yrs, given to me used and it still works great (never burn my popcorn).

Our KitchenAid model KUDD01DSSS stainless steel dishwasher is a double draw
Our KitchenAid model KUDD01DSSS stainless steel dishwasher is a double drawer unit with plastic interior. It is very nice for my wife and I and small loads but probably not as useful for a family. It is a bit noisy and seems to run quite a long time. This is a 2006 model, so perhaps a newer model would be more efficient and address the noise issue. Overall, I have been satisfied with this dishwasher.
