We purchased this very expensive fridge in May 2010 and the appliance store
We purchased this very expensive fridge in May 2010 and the appliance store gave us a 5 yr warranty which we used on 5 different occasions. Long story shortened greatly... 2 yrs in we had water leaking on the floor which was warping the newly done wood! Ahh! We couldnt figure out what was going on b/c it both seemed to be running/leaking as well as there was water freezing up in the back of the freezer, until it created a frozen pool in the bottom and started to leak out the front. So I turned off the water supply (stinks to have this huge fancy fridge and NO ice or cold water!) But that didnt seem to stop the prob. First they said it required the duck bill to help w/ draining the water inside the fridge which wasnt covered under the warranty- even though KA had HUNDREDS of calls on this issue at that point in 2012. Then later we found that we were experiencing 2 separate problems. We needed a faulty valve which was covered and the repair company was nice and thorough in fixing the duck bill for free. The valve we were told might have been b/c the water was freezing inside the ice cube maker in the fridge (our ice is not indoor but in bottom freezer on left side). He showed me how the water was frozen inside the hard plastic tubing. NOTE that we DID defrost it and that sorry to say didnt help. ALSO BE AWARE that for us these issues seemed to coincide via coincidence or not.. We are unsure... But seemed to occur when either someone left the freezer opened for a prolonged time.. OR we went out of town for over a week and the freezer remained unopened. Unfortunately, we have never gotten an answer on that one.. BUT we just came back from a 1 month trip overseas and bam! The prob was back! Grrrr.. Anyway... So that repair of the duck bill and double valve seemed to work for 3 yrs.. b/c now we are in 2015 and experiencing very similar issues again. I called our old repair guys again and they told me that KA has changed out the duck bill for a new piece called the goose neck/P-trap drain tube. We just ran out of the warranty of course last month.. So to fix this would be $110 labor, $80 service fee + part $25. I found this website that shows how to put it in yourself. I dont even cut my own grass or nail something in the wall myself.. BUT this looks so easy I will do it myself! See link to Repair Clinic! Not sure it will show up here but google it! Has a video. Im going to give it a try. ** Also check out the threads on this forum **. ALSO lastly.. Sorry.. Wanted to let you know that one of the other calls we have had to make on this which was NOT at difficult to figure out but would have been pretty costly had we not had the warranty was the condenser went out 4 yr after we bought it 2014. The thing just started not to cool anymore! But the guys figured it out pretty quickly and got the new part in straight away. OHH And lastly... Really it is.. Haha. The stainless doors are the WORST of ALL of our stainless appliances to clean. and EVEN are getting tiny rust spots which is crazy as our fridge isnt anywhere near the sink/stove. Anyway... SO FOR CLEANING them.. I have tried several different products and the one that has by far done the best at cleaning and keeping spots away is Weiman Stainless Steel Cleaner & Polish. I agree w/ ALL that has been said re: this machine.. Looks great.. But a total lemon! I will NEVER spend $2300 on a fridge again. I figured it was my once in a lifetime. Im grown up and get the kitchen I want & have it last a long time.. Im a teacher... So the cash is not flowing like the water on my floor. But I will never buy something like this again. Sadly too much $$, hassle, and time.

Im a Hurricane Sandy victim - most of my house wiped out. Rebuilt and purchased all new KitchenAid appliances in 2013. Within a few months, dishwasher had a leak (fixed) and rust spots and discoloring of door panel - poor quality steel. Customer Service says these are cosmetic and they are not responsible. Rust spots probably because we live near the water. ABSURD! ALSO - electronic panel on door failed - option lights not working, trying to get fixed.Refrigerator- Control panel failed- shows false high temps and warning lights - was replaced. Failed again. Trying to get panel replaced again. Quality Control needs to look at hundreds of complaints on the internet. Still have great stress from Hurricane Sandy - KitchenAid is causing more stress. Very unhappy - spoke with my contractor about dropping KitchenAid from their product line. What happens when the warranties expire? Will I have to pay for these future quality failures? Would not recommend your products.

The brand new, top of the line KitchenAid dishwasher I recently purchased leaked the second time I used it and ruined my hardwood floor. It has been a nightmare dealing with Sears, where it was purchased, their insurance company, and KitchenAid. I have been waiting six weeks so far for KitchenAid to respond to the insurance company. That is a long time to be without a dishwasher! KitchenAid customer service has been useless. All I can say is I will never purchase any otherKitchenAid or Whirlpool product. I guess customer satisfaction is no longer important. I wish I had purchased another Maytag!

We purchased a stainless steel KitchenAid bottom freezer refrigerator in September 2013. It was fine for a year, but suddenly the PO sign showed up on display board and nothing has been right since then. Upon calling Whirlpool (30 minutes on phone) they suggested we call the repair companies listed on their website. First company we called was Diamond Repair and that guy fiddled around and since he could not figure out the problem, told us that the fault was with the outlet in our brand new built house! Ok, so we called the builder and they looked at it and declared it fine but changed it to a brand new one. Problem continued with the constant beeping and PO symbol on. Then I called Maytag company to look at it and that has been a nightmare. After the first tech left, our water dispenser that was working fine till then, stopped dispensing. They said that maybe it was a coincident that it failed and their tech was not at fault. What!!! They are simply unhelpful. Their techs come out and between the two visits they have changed each and every circuit board, to no avail. Much to our chagrin, whenever I call Whirlpool customer service center, and speak to a manager, they make me repeat the problem, promise me that they will call back and I never hear from them!! One time they supposedly ordered new door for this fridge, but the tech from May-tag came with new circuit boards and did know anything about any door being ordered. I wash my hands off Whirlpool company. The fridge was clearly a lemon. In all the years of owning several refrigerators, this has by far been the worst fridge we have owned but the Whirlpool customer service has been pathetic, to say the least. I will make sure none of my next appliance is even partly owned by Whirlpool!

On November 17, 2011, I used my self-clean function of my KitchenAid gas range (model # KGRS807SSS01) according to instructions in manual. The oven is only three years old. After one hour, the oven turned off. The door was locked and it was not due to a circuit breaker. I have had to have two service calls, purchase an electric roaster to cook the Thanksgiving turkey in and received no help from the KitchenAid call center because the authorized repair person stated that I needed part #9762774 for the touch control system. But was told that the part would not be covered under the five-year warranty because it is not the touch control system. Utterly frustrated after spending three hours on the phone, two service calls and over $400 to repair something that should work. Both repair persons stated that they advise never to use the self cleaning function of the KitchenAid range for just this reason.

Tonight while eating dinner, the dishwasher just started making a strange noise and steaming like the drying cycle started coming out. We shut off the power to it, but it kept running. Then it started filling and started flooding the kitchen. Prior to this, the door lock started acting up and it has been hard to lock. Previous to that, the soap dispenser stopped working. After 2 years, the racks started breaking and falling apart. Model number KitchenAid KUDP02IR.

While still under warranty, the dishwasher circuit panel no longer operated. No lights and did not turn on. I called the recommend repair service and was told it would be too costly to replace the control panel and to buy a new dishwasher. I called KitchenAid and was told to turn off the circuit breaker that provides power to the dishwasher. This works but must be turned off after each use. If I dont turn it off immediately after using it and try and do it later, it takes days before it operates again and the circuit panel must be off during the wait.

We bought all new KitchenAid appliances in our new home 2 years ago. The refrigerator, French door, started having issues with the bottom veggie drawer not closing all the way. Ice was forming behind the drawer. Finally we went to the store where we purchased the appliances and they came out and repaired the problem. Cost $193. Wish we had purchased the extended warranty. I thought we were buying a better product because of the name and price. Next time I will buy GE $1000 or more cheaper than this brand. I wish things were built to last. Everything now is disposable and cost outrageous prices. Its sad that we pay such a high price and then have to pay 100s more to keep the thing working after only two years! From what Ive read in these reviews KitchenAid has really went downhill as a top of the line appliance. So as for me and mine no more KitchenAid.

Our 48 refrigerator has been down for 30 days. They no longer make the CPU to repair it. It took 2 visits to determine this by certified Kitchenaid partners. 2 weeks to file a report and get a call back for a prorated exchange of $6500 to replace our 6 year old unit with a unit that is new but an Old Version. We have now been trying for a week to get the person responsible for our case with no response to move forward. Its now been a month without a refrigerator that cost us 9K to be offered a unit at their cost without any consideration of what we have been dealing with all this time. They are even willing to offer us the newest version of their unit. All together this will end up costing us 15K for a unit that should last more than 5 to 6 years or at least should have parts for them to repair it. WE also spend another dollars a year ago to repair the ice maker. Model number of the unit is the Kssc48qXs. X refers to year made.. Its like spending 3 thousand dollars a year for a refrigerator. How can I think of ever buying Kitchen Aid or recommending it to anyone if they dont stand behind their products?

After having the repairman out several times to fix top rack and a few other things, now am unable to use top rack as the arm is no longer rotating and dishes are not clean in top rack and am only able now to wash dishes in bottom rack. The dealers repairman said he could nothing wrong the last time and charged me $50 even though it is still under warranty from dealer. I am so disappointed in this dishwasher to the point of tears and frustrated no one can tell me the problem. Am following all the guidelines, turned up water temp, use cleaner once a month, rinse aid, etc.

My wife and I built a new house and moved in 8/2003. We purchased all KitchenAid appliances. We had to replace the ice maker twice on our 2003 refrigerator. The 2003 range top stove control panel does not work properly. The 2003 microwave completely stopped working at the end of 2011. The front door cracked in 2008 since it hits a screw at the underside. Our 2006 professional, heavy duty mixer broke in July 2012, my wife uses it about 15-20 times a year. How pathetic. They should be ashamed of the quality of all their appliance products.

This is an update to my post here on 11/24/2011. KitchenAid dishwasher KUDE70CVSS2, 1.5 years old, sanitized light was blinking at end of sanitize wash, i.e. water was not heated up high enough to sanitize the dishes. Finally, it was repaired today, 2/8/2012, almost 11 weeks since it broke. We had 8 service repair visits made by 4 technicians from 2 service repair companies. During this period, the printed circuit board was replaced twice. We were told our hot water supply was not hot enough by one technician who didnt come prepared with a thermometer. A different visit and technician with a thermometer measured it at 142 degrees, well above the 120 degrees the KitchenAid manual says is needed. We were told the problem was in our household wiring. That was a miscommunication between one service repair company and the extended warranty company. Then the entire washer unit with pump and diverter valve was replaced, today, the 8th visit, and the unit now sanitizes and works just fine. Now Ill tell you how to navigate through the bad technicians, miscommunications and so on that I learned after being frustrated when the second service call did nothing to fix the problem. Inside the kick panel of the KitchenAid dishwasher is a large folded paper enclosed in a waterproof pouch. It a technicians debug sheet that describes how to operate and analyze the results of a built-in self test. Yes, these dishwashers can perform a rather complete self test that concludes with a code indicating what the problem is. Read the sheet in your washer to understand the proper sequence of front panel button presses needed to begin the self test. But beware, the test in my washer can be run to either display the concluding results, or skip the display. You will need to run it in the display mode to read the results, duh. Duh, because the first technician kind of ran it in the other mode and never saw the result. None of the other technicians even ran the self test. It takes about 27 minutes to run, and you have to sit and watch the lights flash so as to catch the final conclusion. Huh, KitchenAid? The technicians would rather just replace stuff than wait 27 minutes to find out whats wrong. But I ran it, not just once, but many times, and I always got error codes 4-1 and 4-4. And the documentation says that one of the causes of a blinking sanitized light is error codes 4-1 or 4-4. Duh again, only on the 7th service call did the technician say lets see what 4-1 and 4-4 are and the answer was an issue with the diverter valve, so he ordered a new one, replaced it on the 8th visit and the washer runs just fine. So run that self-test, get the error codes, then insist the repair company fix the error reported by the self-test. With each technician, I point to the KitchenAid refrigerator I bought in 1987 that still runs well, and, each has chirped, dont buy another KitchenAid refrigerator. Im not buying another KA dishwasher either!

After six years, our microwave stopped working. A service repairman said he could fix it for $375, something to do with the panel door message. I figured I could go without the microwave for a while. Then after cleaning the oven, the glass shattered in the microwave. Heat must have risen and too hot. The oven still works, but the glass is still getting into the oven and on the floor. Of course, this model is discontinued. Im looking at GE as a replacement. Too bad as everything else in our kitchen is KitchenAid. I would not recommend anyone doing their kitchen with this company.

We purchased a rather expensive KitchenAid refrigerator-freezer, model KSF26C7XYY04, one with a computerized, electronic control system located on outside of the freezer door. What we have found is that the ice maker inexplicably quits working and then equally inexplicably starts working again---days later. Two calls to the store where the unit was purchased (Lowes) resulted in two different technicians coming out to fix the problem. The first technician replaced the computerized electronic control unit. This did not solve the problem. The second technician had no lasting success either, even confirming that the temperature control settings were at the factory recommended levels. With the problem still continuing, we phoned KitchenAid and were eventually transferred back to Lowes. The only solution offered was to have still another technician come out to fix the problem (at our expense). A return chat contact with KitchenAid produced the same results. What is disappointing is the extent to which KitchenAid refuses to accept responsibility for a design/manufacture flaw in their product and the futility of their so-called solutions. Why would anyone pay for a third technician to address the same problem when two others couldnt? Is the third technician (reportedly more of a KitchenAid authorized technician) an admission that the first two that Lowes sent out were something less than competent? Why wasnt a KitchenAid authorized technician sent out the first time? I was asked if I purchased an extended warranty. What good is an extended warranty, if the same problem cant be fixed under the first warranty period? We need better products and better solutions.

Just have to add my .02 here too. I used to have KitchenAid everything in my kitchen. Our house came with KA appliances, except for the range, when it was built back in 1987. All the appliances lasted, without issue, until we had a remodel done in 2005. We got a new Dishwasher, Range, and Fridge. The fridge was a nearly 2000 dollars French door style fridge. The range was a slide-in gas/convection oven. It cost roughly $1800. The DW was about $800. The Dishwasher was a Bosch. The Fridge and Range were both KitchenAid. Of the three, only the Bosch is still going. Two years ago, the fridge compressor went out suddenly, and it would have cost 600 dollars to replace it. We opted to buy a new fridge for about $1600 - we went with a Samsung. Never did like the KitchenAid fridge. On the other hand, the KitchenAid range was actually a good piece of equipment. I liked it very much... That is, until I used the self-destruct feature, oops, I mean self-cleaning feature. Yes, we had never used the self-cleaning feature of the KA range until about a week ago. We usually cleaned it regularly by hand, as the messes were small. We decided to use the self-clean feature, for the first time, and guess what? It shut down in the middle of the cleaning. The door was locked, and the control panel was not responsive. I got online and found this was a very common occurrence for KA ranges, even ones that were nearly brand new, my range included, as we very rarely used the oven, we almost exclusively used it for the cooktop. So, thinking that this wasnt a wear-and-tear issue, and that the self-clean feature caused the failure, I thought Kitchenaid/Whirlpool would be more than willing to give me some assistance with this. Ha ha, silly me. After nearly an hour on hold, the first rep told me to reset the breaker to the range and wait for awhile to see if that fixed the problem. I reluctantly agreed, and, of course, it didnt fix anything. I called back and this time they told me they would have to set up a service call and it would cost me. Now, again, silly me thinking since the poor design/defect of the stove caused it to fail, I thought they would be gracious to give me a one-time call, or at least send a free part or something. However, no, they didnt care at all and basically told me to get lost and they wouldnt take responsibility for the defect, or stand behind their product. So, after two crummy experiences with KA, and over an hour dealing with customer NO service, I have decided to replace the range with a Bosch, yes, the same company that made my DW that is still going like a champ. I will never, ever, purchase a KA or Whirlpool product again. I hope anyone who reads this will decide to be thoughtful about your money you spend, and if do purchase KA/WP, dont expect any kind of customer service, or a company that stands behind their products.

I purchased a new home in February of 2014. As part of the purchase, I upgraded all the builder appliances to top of the line KitchenAid appliances. Shortly after the initial warranty expired, I started having issues with all the appliances. $9,000 Fridge - the freezer is icing over and leaking on the floor. Dishwasher - cheap plastic bracket broke; cost me $300 to fix. Microwave oven - display panel malfunctioning and microwave light went off. Light stopped working after a year. You can buy a cheap microwave at Sears and the light wont go out for 10 years. Stove - this one is fresh, after you light the stove and walk away, the auto light clicker continues to go off. The last reviewer commented Shame on the salesperson for selling a product with known problems. However, lets put the blame squarely where it belongs - KitchenAid! When my oven failed 2 days ago after using the self clean, I thought I would contact them to see if they really do have as poor of customer service as Ive read about. Yes, indeed they do have about the worst customer service I have ever experienced. They completely fail to acknowledge the very frequent problem that their ovens fail after using the self-clean. Its all over the internet with so many documented cases, yet KitchenAid calls it an occasional failure of man made components. A clear design flaw which they refuse to acknowledge. In 2010 my wife had her dream kitchen installed, which included all Kitchenaid Stainless Steel appliances. All top of the line. (Sadly, my wife died a year and a half later of cancer) It is now just me, and an occasional child home from college, so these appliances are getting very light use. The freezer on the bottom refrigerator started to fill with ice at the bottom, which destroyed the Cherry floor underneath. This was due to a clogged duck valve, which is a two dollar part. The repairman said that they all do it, and a replacement part that was modified was installed. The damage to the floor is estimated to be over a thousand dollars. The dishwasher has gone through two thermal fuses, and now wont cycle. Im waiting for the repairman as I write this. I will never recommend any Kitchenaid appliance to anyone, and my three kids who are all in the process of going out on their own will not either. My call to Kitchenaid for the refrigerator problem was not only unhelpful, but I ended up at a call center in who knows where. So, avoid this brand. I am so disgusted with the dishwasher that I am ready to have it replaced.

I have to basically wash everything before putting it in. The repair man suggested using high heat and power scrub. We bought a KitchenAid dishwasher 2 1/2 years ago and the motor just stopped working. The repair guy was even surprised. After calling KitchenAid, they would not help with anything... not one penny. The woman I spoke to was so apologetic and felt my aggravation. But, thats no consolation. I would never purchase another KitchenAid product, again.

Well **, there are more complaints than I have time to read. Even the repairman knows what the problem is before he even looks at it, he has fixed so many! I will be cleaning my expensive oven with Easy Off. Never buy a KitchenAid or Whirlpool product!

Architect Series II Electric, free standing range: Overall, DO NOT BUY A KITCHENAID product due to user error, we needed to replace the oven door seal/gasket. After searching online & by phone in our area and being told that part is not available, I called KitchenAid. As we had registered our appliance they were able to verify our range was only 5 years old. THEY NO LONGER HAVE GASKETS FOR THIS MODEL. No other model gaskets will fit this model. Instead of the anticipated $60.00 repair cost we were told all they could do was sell us a comparable model for employee cost... not including shipping, installation and haul off of our current unit. I blew MY gasket & told them absolutely not. Not one .00 over the stated cost!! The upshot? $700.00+ later, with a wait of over 2 weeks, we will get a new range. They had us over a barrel with no other options for the price. I am flabbergasted, frustrated, disappointed & without a working oven for over half a month. I have always thought of KitchenAid as a quality product & in fact have been happy with the unit. I cannot recommend KitchenAid any longer with its program of planned obsolescence. KitchenAid as a company is horrid. Decent products, lousy policies with employees stuck in an awful position.

I filled out a complaint on 10/11/11. The repairman was at my house and replaced the motor on my 7-month-old dishwasher after waiting 3 weeks to get it repaired. It is now 10/21/11 and it broke again today. It was the same problem as last time, so I assume it needs a new motor again. I have to wait another 12 days just to get a service person to come out and look at it. Ill then be at over a month with a non-working brand new dishwasher in a 7-month period.

I bought the fridge last November (2013) and the freezer has quit working. I am so sick of the quality of American products! I also purchased a KitchenAid dishwasher and the pump went out on it within the first 6 months. I am single and run it MAYBE once a week. When it came time to purchase a gas range I decided to ditch the so called American made KitchenAid brand and go with the Bertazzoni (Italian manufacturer, family business-6 generations strong). NO WAY was I going to purchase yet another KitchenAid that would need repair within the first year. In hindsight I wish I would have purchased a Bosch dishwasher and did more research on refrigerators. I would NOT recommend ANY Kitchen Aid product!!!!!!!!

I purchased a model KDTE204DSS0 KitchenAid dishwasher on 12/1/14 for $717.4
I purchased a model KDTE204DSS0 KitchenAid dishwasher on 12/1/14 for $717.48. It has a stainless steel tub. Fourteen months later (2/16) we had water leaking from multiple pinhole leaks in the stainless steel tub where the base of the tub is molded to fit the screen and pump. I called Whirlpool and they said that the tub has a lifetime warranty but it can only be installed by an approved appliance repair facility. That cost $150.00 (I removed, delivered and installed the dishwasher again myself). On 9/8/16 (seven months later) the dishwasher is leaking again and has again the same pinhole leaks in the new tub. I get a slight shock when I touch the screen inside the tub and believe there is a galvanic reaction going on that is eating up the stainless tub at its thinnest area.Since I find no other reviews mentioning this problem, and it appears to be more than just a tub problem but a unit problem (i.e. a lemon), I asked Whirlpool to replace the unit. As you already know, they said no but would replace it for $17.00 less than I paid for the last one less than two years ago. If I paid another $150.00 to replace the last tub that would be about $500.00 a year to wash a load of dishes every other day. This negative review is as much about the manufacturer as it is about the faulty dishwasher.

I purchased a KitchenAid microwave for $784.00 and $102.00 for the extended warranty and both of those were my problem. The microwave went out and I have had to make over 10 different calls and waste over 5 hours on the phone with KitchenAid extended warranty company. At first they refused to cover the oven because they said it was heat related damage. I have to admit that I am not very smart but I do know that a microwave oven has to get hot in order to work! After I called the store I purchased it from and after the repair company called them on my behalf, they want me to accept only 75% of replacement value. I can never recommend anyone to buy KitchenAid or Whirlpool products because with my experience, they do not stand behind their products or care about their customers. I have spoken to 3 supervisors; all of them follow the company line. The difference in dollars to keep a satisfied customer is $236.00. That is not much for a multi-billion dollar company. I will continue to contact as many information outlets as possible including TV, radio and newspapers, as well as spending time in appliance stores to inform others of my experience. All I can say is purchase KitchenAid/Whirlpool at your own risk!

I bought this KitchenAid dishwasher thinking maybe it would last more than 6 or 7 years like the other brands Ive had. This one actually needed a repair before it hit the 4 year mark! Needed a new computer - of course the part was under warranty (five year) but the service call and labor were not. Spent $155.00 to have the part replaced. I also had to replace the upper rack after approx. 1 1/2 years. Ive had cheaper brands that have lasted longer without repair so next time I know better - Ill stick to the lower end brands as there seems to be no difference in the quality anymore. Disappointed!!!

The light in the oven of our 8 year old kitchenaid superba stove doesnt light up anymore. Apparently we have to change the whole board? Total loss of function for the oven and the visible control area (lights, timer, programs) resulted. The cost of a new board in Canada is close to $500 + installation so it is not worth repairing. Kitchenaid offers no assistance in this matter. The stove cost us $2500. We thought we were buying the best but were we ever wrong.Fridge door bottom hinge is sinking in the door, the door is basically just foam there is. No support to hold the weight, very bad design. Bought this refrigerator 6/13/12 after home power surge destroyed our other KitchenAid refrigerator Model KSC23C8EYY. We were very happy with the first one so decided to buy another, counter depth side by side. We had no problem the first year but shortly after the warranty expired, had an issue with hose connecting to freezer. After they realized it was a faulty part on the hose, they covered it. We have a wood floor in our kitchen so that also needed to be repaired. Thankfully, I decided to purchase the 5 year Extended Service Plan. We have used it three times, so far. We discovered water accumulating in bottom portion of the refrigerator and called service plan. In April, 2017, had the drain unclogged in fresh food side. Today I pulled out bottom drawer to find the same thing happening. It also had a lot of black mold on side of drawers and refrigerator. (I took lots of pictures). I set up appointment to have repair service come out to fix clog and also to check on why mold is appearing (probably related). Extended Service plan seems very responsive so I would recommend purchasing it.

I purchase a KitchenAid refrigerator (20.0 cu ft counter-depth) from Sears 12/20/14 ($1979.99). I purchased a 5-year warranty package from KitchenAid too. Six months later I found a big puddle of water on the kitchen floor coming from the freezer compartment. I called KitchenAid and when the woman asked me what was going on in the freezer (I told her frost was forming in the ice compartment); she told me that it was warranted under the first year and gave me a number of a company (Calif. Appliance Tech) to call. They came out on July 8, 2015 and told me the problem was the gasket on the left side hadnt been properly sealed and was letting air in. They left and a few days later someone from CAT called to tell me the part was ordered and it should arrive in 6 weeks. It never arrived. When I spoke to John on 9/18, he insinuated that I can still use the freezer which is not so. He told the part (freezer) has to be manufactured and I have to be patient as there is a long back order! In the meantime, CAT closed the case and it had to be re-opened when I called back on October 16th.What does this say about the crappy product? The freezer is completely frozen shut so I cannot open the door and have to make numerous trips to the market as I cant use the freezer. I went back to Sears in Santa Monica and told their customers in the appliance area not to purchase any product with KitchenAid in the name. I was very vocal to the shoppers about the horrible experience with them (Whirlpool owns them). I then spoke to John at Sears who took me to their computer and looked up the part KitchenAid told me had to be manufactured and the part is readily available.I am so angry with KitchenAid. They are liars! John at Sears told me the part with gasket could be purchased thru them but it will terminate my warranty and would cost me up to $1,000 to replace. I paid an additional $266 for the 5-year warranty. I am ready to throw in the bucket, call Goodwill to haul it away and purchase a product that doesnt have KitchenAid or Whirlpool in its name. John told me that had I purchased the Sears warranty this wouldnt have happened. How can KitchenAid get away with not providing the warranty they tell us we have? My last call was to Josh on 10/16/15 and was again told the part would arrive in 6-8 weeks.

Purchased all new KitchenAid appliances for a kitchen remodel. The dishwasher overheated in less than a year. A service repairman from the manufacturer replaced the control panel. It worked fine until it was 2 years old. Then it stopped cleaning. I tried working with my extended warranty at this point. One repairman said it needed spot remover (which I had only recently run out of). I disagreed, as the dishes were greasy with food particles left on them. A 2nd repairman replaced the control panel. Still had dirty dishes. They replaced with new control panel. Still had dirty dishes. Then the pump stopped working and you couldnt turn the dishwasher on or drain the water. At this point I had been without a dishwasher for 2 months & was tired of service calls with no results and hand washing all my dishes. The store where I bought it wouldnt replace the appliance & said it was up to the appliance repair to say it was broken...& couldnt be fixed. The appliance repair said that it was up to KitchenAid customer service to make that decision. Customer service said that the appliance repair had to document that enough repairs had been made that it would be cheaper to replace. The appliance people wouldnt do that. I called back the store, the appliance people & the warranty company & tried to get them to work together... with no resolution & ended up buying a new dishwasher...different brand, of course. I wouldnt leave a bad review for KitchenAid, but this dishwasher cost me $800 and a $2,000 KitchenAid refrigerator purchased at the same time has been leaking since it was a few months old. Ive had it 5 years...still leaks & getting the same run around with the store, Kitchen Aid customer service and the extended warranty. No one will take responsibility for their poor products. I do like their stove top and double oven combo, though.

Cannot vouch for the other ones. At delivery the unit looked great. No problems were visible. Suddenly three months later blemishes/spots/watermarks mysteriously appeared on the white front panel. I thought I was buying a quality product when I purchased my side by side KSF26C7XYY00 refrigerator. The refrigerator I had was very old and not cooling. Since I was renovating my kitchen, what better than to purchase a quality product like KitchenAid... Unfortunately that was not the case! After six months to the day, the freezer stopped working. I had to throw everything away the day before Christmas. Knowing no one would be taking calls on Christmas I waited a couple of days. In the meantime, the refrigerator side stopped cooling as well. I called the KitchenAid customer service line to go through the proper procedures and protocol for the warranty. The service guy came out on Dec. 28 and told me he did not know how to fix it and he would order the parts. Several days pass. I had to call them to find out where the parts were only find that they had no idea. There was a new tracking system and they could not track the parts in transit. After a week and a half and after speaking with one of KitchenAids corporate reps and some emails to the Brand Experience Senior Manager they finally agreed to replace the refrigerator. You would think this would be a good thing however they had to order it and it would take 7-10 days. After calling the delivery company I found that they had had the refrigerator and no information on who it belonged to, yet no one investigated this. I received the new replacement refrigerator on Jan. 20. Now, you would think that the saga would be over, but no. After nearly ONE MONTH without a refrigerator, the new refrigerator does not work! The freezer is not freezing and the refrigerator side is only slightly cool compared to the 37 degrees that it is supposed to be according to the manual. I called KitchenAid only to have the customer service person tell me I needed to make an appointment for a service call. At this point I am beyond frustrated and I would like to get my money back so I can buy something that works. I cant afford to replace food or eat out daily. I will NEVER buy KitchenAid or any of their affiliates again and will advise everyone I know and work with (the 9th largest school district in the US) of the same.

I have a 4-5 year-old KitchenAid Dishwasher. It leaked badly on the kitchen floor the day before Thanksgiving. I could see underneath that the drain pump and motor was lying on the floor. It had fallen off its mount and was barely hanging by its rubber hose connected to the drain sump. I pulled the machine out from under the counter and turned it on its side to investigate the problem. I found that the 2-inch hose that connects the pump to the dishwasher sump was cracked from holding the weight of the pump and motor. Call to the tech dept at KitchenAid to get a new hose. Tech could not find a part number to get the little hose. Said he would email the info in a few days. This rubber hose is about 2 inches long with a one-inch opening on one end and about 1.25 inch opening on the other. It attaches with two simple hose clamps. Several days later I received an email stating that the hose was not available for purchase, as it only comes on a motor/pump assembly which will cost me $264. All I need is a little rubber hose. This is a serious RIPOFF.

I have owned a KitchenAid Gas Range/Convection Oven KGSA906PSS for several years. I attempted to use the self-clean feature for the first time ever yesterday. I wished I had searched for KitchenAid complaints on this website first. Apparently, I am one of many who has burned up the oven control panel by merely using a feature of the oven. How is this possible that there is no recall or product support from KitchenAid for such a common problem and obvious product defect? I called KitchenAid and as you can guess from their low ratings on this and other sites. They were zero help and I got the impression they could care less if any of us ever buy a KitchenAid product again. They should be happy to know that I in fact would never buy another KitchenAid product or recommend that anyone else ever does. The repair (punishment) cost is estimated at $600. This is a repair for attempting to use the oven clean feature one time. One of the features we looked for on an oven although for some reason (thankfully) we didnt use. This represents a full 45 percent of the ovens purchase price and yet KitchenAid has no assistance or comment. Good Job, KitchenAid. Purchased new refrigerator Oct 2013. One year later it failed - not keeping food cool enough. Parts were replaced. One year later it failed again - same problem but different cause. This time it was a manufacturing defect which, according to the repairman, was well known but we had received no notice. Again, according to the repairman, there had been six updates to the control panel during that year but again, no notice from KitchenAid. Now, two months later, it has failed again. This time it is some sort of internal water leak which was undetected until it ruined about half my kitchen cabinets, the lower adjacent wall and several feet of living room wood floor. Fortunately I have both home insurance which will cover most of the house damage and an extended warranty on the refrigerator which will cover that repair but I am still out a substantial deductible which I intend to be reimbursed by KitchenAid. Further, under no circumstances would I recommend a KitchenAid appliance to anyone. This particular model is a POS and further, KitchenAid does not apparently care what happens to the appliance once it leaves their factory.

This range (Frigidaire Gallery 30 electric range model# CGEF304DK) was included in our new home purchased last year. The range looks nice but the oven racks repeatedly fall down causing the food and pans to spill out! This problem I was told was due to my neglect. Are they kidding? Steel racks are not long enough to stay in contact with the oven sides! The racks are not distorted or bent they just fall down. This could cause serious flesh burns and or a catastrophic fire if unattended for any short time period. KitchenAid totally abandoned their responsibility in this matter. Also the convection fan failed to operate. This upscale range is not older than 3 years, its a disgrace. We put tin cans in to support the racks when using the oven. Pitifully sad. I purchased a KitchenAid dishwasher model KUDC20CVSS4 in September 2010 to match all my other KitchenAid SS appliances. It will not totally rinse off top rack dishes and glasses of food residue, and as a result, food particles harden on them so bad that I must soak them in the sink to get them cleaned. I had repairmen out periodically since November 2010 to fix the problem. I have been told to run hot water before starting dishwasher, scrape/rinse dishes thoroughly before washing, switch to liquid Cascade from powder or tablets because H20 doesnt get hot enough to dissolve it, and to run dishwasher with 1/2 to 1 cup white vinegar on occasion. Nothing has worked. The bottom line is that we bought an $800.00 lemon with no recourse. Oh yeah, I was also told that new dishwashers are all made the same since the government enforced new Energy Use standards. I think its baloney being sold to me in order not to buy a new dishwasher (which we are considering). KitchenAid knows about the problems with this unit since it is now discontinued and replaced! I wish they would replace my dishwasher and start a class action suit against KitchenAid.

On February 1st, 2020, the oven enamel shattered again. The oven was used a handful of times, never over 400 degrees F. Enamel could have easily gotten into my food while cooking. Kitchenaid should look out for a lawsuit for knowingly selling defective ranges. Unfortunately we bought a whole line of Kitchenaid appliances because we wanted them all to match in our kitchen. I am requesting a refund and will not be purchasing Kitchenaid.

I absolutely love my KitchenAid dishwasher. It is so quiet you cannot tell is running. It is energy-efficient and the temperature of the water can be increased if necessary. There are three racks in the machine. The very top rack is flat and holds either cooking utensils or knives, forks, and spoons. That rack can also be removed if you prefer. The machine also has a special feature where you can place bottles directly on individual water spouts that will shoot up into the bottle for a perfect cleaning. The other thing I love about it is Shane is that it has a removable cover that goes over the normal utensil holder automatically separate utensils so they will not stick together during the washing process.

It’s an $840 fiasco. Almost from the beginning it would not clean the dishes. They came out dirtier! Food crusted on, glasses with a dirty grim on the outside, coffee stains still in the cups, silverware greasy. I called KitchenAid and was told to turn the hot water temp up on my hot water heater and Thanks for calling KitchenAid. Good bye.” How does that help my bottom line? The hotter water had impact. I called again. I was told: Use the Pots & Pans setting and thanks for calling KitchenAid. Good bye. Still no improvement. I called again, and was told to check the drain . . . Thanks for calling KitchenAid. Good bye. Notice here they did not record my complaints: no name, address or model number was taken and no record of my complaints was ever taken. Finally—finally—after several more complaints and letters, they send a repair person out from KitchenAid no less. Nope, not our fault. I had to pay $185 for that news. Today, I took out 4 cereal bowls that are still filthily with stuck on grime, a greasy pancake flipper, food stuck to the silverware and on and on. I am appalled that KitchenAid has gotten so bad that the only thing left going for them is what is left of a once good name. I will never purchase another new item from them again, and that means the entire family of appliances. I am appalled.

My brand new Kitchen Aid KBLS22KWMS arrived yesterday. Its a bottom freezer
My brand new Kitchen Aid KBLS22KWMS arrived yesterday. Its a bottom freezer, single top door model. The bottom deli drawer kept sticking every time I opened it, so I took the drawers out, to try to find the problem. Thats when I saw that the molded plastic, on which rests the shelf supports on the deli and crisper doors, was very thin, and could be pushed in with just normal pressure from my finger. One of the supports was dented in already. Crisper drawers and the deli drawer are held by plastic frames, with no metal at all. Only the top shelves have full metal support. All the plastic is really shoddy workmanship. I have no faith that this fridge will last even a year, much less 5. Its going back to Lowes tomorrow. I had thought that Kitchen Aid was supposed to be a higher end appliance from Whirlpool. Now I will not buy another Whirlpool owned product.

Dear FOLKS, please read this review. WE FINALLY FOUND A SOLUTION!! My wife
Dear FOLKS, please read this review. WE FINALLY FOUND A SOLUTION!! My wife and I remodeled our upscale homes kitchen 2+ years ago. Granite, all brand new top of the line Kitchenaid appliances. We wanted to buy American, since I have had a 35 year + career in US based manufacturing sales. Well, the KFIS29PBMS refrigerator was unbearably loud from day 1. We had 4 warranty calls right off the bat. They replaced the DC fan motor, the compressor and some icemaker components. This did nothing to relieve the very loud whiny electrical motor sound that was on almost constantly. This took us to the end of our 1 year mfg warranty. We called Kitchenaid several times and they basically showed us their corporate middle finger. They suggested we purchase the extended warranty, which was several hundred $ more! No way, we are not that stupid or foolish. 5 different factory authorized service people visited us. By luck, or I think, Gods grace, repairman #5, who had 18 years as a tech rep, finally solved the issue. The problem was the sealed refrigerant system had a leak. The compressor was kicking into the highest gear (hence the loudest noise level) to try and keep the freezer & refrigerator cool. Our bottom drawer freezers coldest temp was at 20 degrees, when it should have been 0 degrees. The icemaker requires 15 degrees to make ice. It could not do this since 15 degrees was colder than the freezer temp, and the icemaker is located in the refrigerator section! The sealed system has a 10-year warranty, so the final repair cost $0!! Our refrigerator is now very quiet, much to our delight. There were times when we could not deal with sitting at our kitchen table. So, justice was finally done. Call your factory authorized repair people and make them check the temps in the freezer. Kitchenaid needs to stand behind their substandard products. The repair people advised us that Kitchenaid will no longer pay for warranty calls based on noise. If their customers make them replace the expensive sealed refrigerant system enough, perhaps they will spend the extra $ to install better quality units from better quality suppliers. I was told by every tech rep that the quality of todays appliances have deteriorated significantly in recent years. The big companies wants your $, but dont care if they send you bad products. Thank you, I hope this helps many people.

This is the second Kitchenaid refrigerator I owned. The first one had problems right from the start. Multiple repairs within the year. Symptoms were not cooling properly, no ice, ice buildup on evaporator coil. Kitchenaid finally replaced the unit because of leak in sealed system. The second one came Jan 2018. By March had issues again. The same problems. Ice build up, no ice, not holding temp. 5 more house calls, loss of food, missed work then conveniently after the manufacturers Warranty expired Kitchenaid deemed it unrepairable. How convenient. I could have told them that back in March. The only problem is that now I am in extended warranty and they only offer 70% of the value. They would not say why it was unrepairable (the sealed system again which should have a 5 year manufactures warranty). I know this because its the same problem as the first one and the same symptoms on last house call. What else would be unrepairable?? I spent 4 hours on phone trying to get satisfaction but they just said, I can transfer you but it will be same answer. Unbelievable that they would rather lose customers for life than replace what is apparently a Manufacturing issue. You can search for class action lawsuits and find many complaints on the same issue. They simply do not care.... I actually believe they deliberately instructed the repair people what to do to stretch out the time to avoid giving me another replacement or my full purchase price money back. I bought Model KRFF707ESS01 for $3,500. Never had a working unit for more than a few months.

Beware of this company. Unfortunately Kitchen Aid /Whirlpool contracted with company. Cheap unprofessional, poor service and absolutely no customer service. Had tech guy from Field appliance. His name was Steven. Came over my house. Already complaining that he was an hour late because of his GPS. He proceeded to look at my refrigerator and say he wasn’t sure if it was a thermostat. He went outside and called whirlpool. Spoke to the tech named Bruce. Came back inside very frustrated and angry that he had to take my refrigerator completely apart. Therefore the evaporating system was behind my freezer panel. Took apart my entire freezer. He then complained that he told whirlpool this was not going to work. It was a waste of his time. Stephen then proceeded to re-put my door completely together while I was on the phone with Kitchen Aid to put a formal complaint because now he wants to change my motherboard of my refrigerator. When I came out of my bedroom he already packed and was ready to leave. I checked my freezer door and my door does not align correctly. Call him back into my house to fix it. He looked at it. Said he’s not fixing it. Find another tech. Gotten his vehicle and left. This is poor customer service. He then proceeded to write a fabricated report that I was aggressive and use foul language. Thank God I did record this gentleman. This gentleman is nothing but an habitual liar. Then I had tech-support Steve from field appliance supposedly a manager. Don’t know what they think a manager should be but the customer is always right, I felt this guy was not listening to a word I said. Apparently they must get a lot of customer complaints. I proceeded to tell this gentleman the story of what happened and told him that his tech was completely a liar. He continue to protect his employee and told me to call Kitchen Aid. Like I said no customer service. Very unprofessional. Poor service and fixing. I don’t think their techs know what they’re doing. They’re just second-guessing everything. And just want whirlpool to keep paying them to come out to keep fixing parts and pieces. Now I have an ice chest that doesn’t slide open and close and my door is completely off alignment. Just beware of this company and stay away. It’s a shame to Kitchen Aid now subcontract to this company that’s two hours away from our destination. Very cheap labor, cheap customer service and low quality work. Beware!

There are many issues with KitchenAid dishwashers manufactures with the past three years and KitchenAid DOES NOT stand behind their products. My mother had the motor leak on hers after three years of light usage. I’ve had to wash dishes by hand due to its inability of dispersing water after 2.5 years of normal use. KitchenAid only offers to replace parts but wants the consumer to pay for labor, as well as house calls to fix a very faulty product. My adjustable top rack also broke at 2 years. This is a shame when people pay close to a grand expecting a quality product that should be reliable for longer than 2-3 years. My 20 year old dishwasher was far more reliable than this overpriced hunk of junk!

I purchased a KitchenAid refrigerator. I could never get the ice maker out. Later found out it was stuck shut. At about 11 months I notices residue on the bottom of my glass after my drink sat. The volume of the powdery substance was quite substantial and noticeable. I really worked on the ice maker and forced it open. There was a pile of white powder inside the ice maker and on the sides of the interior. I cleaned it thoroughly removing all white power and thought the problem was solved. They just forgot to clean it before shipping it. After cleaning it the water/ice was clear. Within 3 months I noticed the white powder was back in my drinks. I cant believe how much of this powder I must have ingested. I called KitchenAid. Sorry you are out of warranty. I suggested they come out and get a sample of this white powder and identify it as harmless or toxic, if not for me then other who may have not noticed it. Sorry your out of warranty. Can I send you a sample of this powder and you can tell me what it is and if it is normal to be in my drinks. No. CAUTION!! LOOK in the bottom of your glass after the ice has melted. Dont let your children drink this substance. Write me if you have had similar experience.

I have a 4 year old Kitchenaid Dishwasher. We spent over $1,000 for it thinking we were investing in a very nice, long lasting machine. After a year, the right clip on the top rack broke and needed to be repaired by a technician. 6 months later the other side broke and we needed another service call. In the last few weeks, all 8 wheels have fallen off the bottom rack. We run the dishwasher about once every three days. I spoke to Kitchenaid customer service this morning via their online chat. The service representative admitted that there were so many complaints about my model that it should have been recalled. She said there was nothing she could do for me. I called and spoke to a customer service representative and their supervisor and they both refused to provide the replacement parts. My model is KUDE 40FXSP3. I will never buy another Kitchenaid product. Even when they know theres an issue, they will not take responsibility for it.

We apologize for the problem you are experiencing with the interior of your KitchenAid oven. The oven liner is not a serviceable part and is not available. The only resolution for the problem you are experiencing is replacement of the oven. You are a valued KitchenAid customer and we appreciate the opportunity to address your inquiry. When calling please press the available option or stay on the line to reach a representative.I.e. Buy another $5000 dud? Not likely. Meanwhile I am concerned about using the oven in case a spill allows grease to migrate into the cavity between the upper and lower ovens. I imagine that this would be a fire hazard. We bought a new Kitchenaid refrigerator French door bottom freezer model # KFIS29BBWH03. The Fan noise is horrible. Sounds like an Ambulance coming down the road. Very unacceptable. We also have ice on the back of the unit inside the refrigerator part which the latest service man, whom we have had four come, said it was a problem with the indoor ice. It also causes the shelves to be wet all the time. The service man has ordered a new computer board for that issue but says the fan noise is normal even though we can hear it throughout the house. Just want to throw this refrigerator in the trash but it was very expensive and if they could fix the noise problem I would be happy. But the noise is driving me up the wall. Wont buy anything from Whirlpool, who owns Kitchenaid and Maytag, again.

I too experienced the dishwasher top rack roller failure. The top rack rollers are secured by (2) cheap very thin plastic spreader clips. These clips are approximately 3/16 wide by 1/16 thick. If just one of these cheap clips breaks - the roller wheel will separate causing the rack to collapse along with progressive failure of the adjoining roller wheel clips. This deliberate design and manufacturing defect by KitchenAid is an obvious attempt at planned obsolesce. This once celebrated company is no longer interested in producing durable quality products. Our 7 year old KitchenAid Kss42QMSO1 side by side started chirping, the internal control panel lights were flashing and we could not adjust or control the temperature using the buttons. I first called the Kitchen Aid HELP LINE (that is an oxymoron). Talking to the fridge would have been just as helpful and all they were interested in doing was dispatching a service man, when he showed up we were advised that it was the control board # W 10219463 that had failed. When I asked the cost to replace it he advised that it was no longer available because the factory in Japan had been destroyed by the Tsunami. This was two years ago, and this huge company had done nothing to create a new supply?? Can you imagine Toyota or Sony using that excuse? Our only option was to send the control board to Chicago for repair and have the fridge / freezer out of commission for 3 to 4 weeks, also we had to sign some kind of a liability waiver. I thanked the service man and advised I would get back to him, then I started to surf the net and after some time I came across this web site and thankfully the blog from Chris in North Van. I live in White Rock and if I knew your address I would drop off a very good bottle of wine on my way to Whistler. Thank you, after reading your info I asked the service man to come back and remove the board. However he said he was prevented by Whirlpool / Kitchen Aid from doing this unless it was sent to Chicago. I contacted another excellent service man who is independent and had him do the removal. I would say unless you are very mechanical you would be better to go this route. He also advised that it was often the evaporator fan that caused the circuit board malfunction. Once it was removed I found it to be exactly as per the photo from Chris. I was able to locate the capacitor from SMI Industrial Electronics in the nearby suburb of Langley, it is a 22ouf 10X12 HI TEMP CAPACITOR 85 o and cost the princely sum of 36 cents (I even purchased a spare). I then took this to an electronics repair man who tested and removed the defective capacitor and installed the new one in less than 5 minutes, he would not even accept any payment. I would advise that unless you are used to working on circuit boards and have a very fine tipped soldering iron I would use an expert, even if he charges you. It would be easy to short out the wires with too much solder. I took this home and the service man came back and installed the circuit board and a new evaporator fan which for some reason is a stock item and in about 1/2 hour the fridge was humming, no chirping and we were able to set the freezer for 0 F and the fridge for 37 F. The temperatures both initially read the 70 F air temp. but started to fall quickly and a few hours later we heard the first ice being made and everything is working just fine. Our total bill including the fan was $260.00. Thanks again Chris, and like you I am amazed that the so-called help line would not advise of this. I am fairly certain our first service man knew of this option because when I told him about the info from Chris he was not the least bit surprised. He probably would be blacklisted if he went against the companys policies. Good Luck!

I learned Whirlpool/KitchenAid customer service definition: The customer is responsible for serving KitchenAid/Whirlpool. I purchased a YKDSS907SS04 less than a year ago. The burners do not work correctly, heating unevenly and either taking too long to cook or burning food. I contacted Customer service, who gave the call to their local authorized service center. They called me back telling me they are not licensed to work on dual fuel ranges and would send the call back to Whirlpool/KitchenAid. Then the nightmare began. I received a call from Whirlpools re-scheduling department telling me to find a local repair shop and send them the bill. I refused. It is not my job to do their job. I followed up with a fax, received a call from their Executive Office - a woman named Carrie **. I could not take the call at the time. I called her back several times over the period of a week and only received a prompt return call after I threatened to contact my attorney. The story did not change - since Whirlpool cannot provide customer service, it is my job as their customer to provide service to them by finding a repair shop in the local Yellow Pages. Nothing changed. The story the same - different name. When I suggested to Ms. ** that Whirlpool should not sell their products in a market where they cannot service them, she told with a screaming tone of voice, that Whirlpool did not sell me the unit directly - but wholesaled it to Sears. Oh well. Forgive my poorly informed status. I initiated the service call reluctantly since I am uncomfortable about the fact that this is not a KitchenAid service provider. However, I will probably get much better service from them - since KitchenAid expect me - their customer - to service them. Carrie ** constantly interrupted me, screamed, and informed me that she would note my file that I refused to find a local provider, which would delay the warranty repair process and be noted in any legal action. BTW does a delayed return phone call qualify? Ms. **s voice mail states that she returns calls within 48 business hours. Well, she only works 8 hour days - I forgot - meaning it takes 6 days to receive a call.

I purchased a KitchenAid Model KUDS301XBLO from Best Buy 2 years ago this month. The first week I had to call KitchenAid concerning the fact that the dishwasher did not get my dishes clean. Stuck on food on dishes and silverware and cloudy glassware. They sent a repairman out and he said there was nothing wrong, it must be my water or the temperature setting on the hot water heater. He checked and said the temp was correct and he couldnt find anything wrong. The next week I called KitchenAid again and reported the same problem. Another repair service was sent and he could not find anything wrong either (other than the dishes were dirty). They both suggested a multitude of things to try, i.e.,Use of different product (used Cascade), adding Lemi Shine, make sure to use Jet-dry, etc, etc, all of which I was using anyway. The first guy said pre-wash the dishes before placing them in dishwasher. The 2nd guy said never pre-wash the dishes, always leave food on them because with the new machines this acted as a washing agent to get the dishes clean... Lordy, that blew my mind. I tried that and had to take all the dishes out of the dishwasher when it was complete and wash them by hand. The 2nd guy also informed me I should have never gotten rid of my 20-year-old GE, that it was a superior product (it worked fine, just was very noisy). I emailed a complaint to KitchenAid and several weeks after the complaint I had a call while I was not at home, from some lady who left a message. I tried to call her back and got her voicemail and left a message for her to return the call. Never heard from her. The 2nd repairman gave me a bill for services and I refused to pay it, so thats when I emailed the company. As far as I am concerned, I will never purchase another KitchenAid product.

I have a 2-year old KitchenAid double wall oven. Today, I used the self-cleaning feature for the first time. After about 30 minutes into the cycle, the interior glass shattered! The glass blew through the bottom of the oven and into my kitchen. Fortunately, nobody was standing close enough to get hurt. I turned off the oven and circuit breaker to allow it to cool. I will be contacting the shop who sold this to me and also KitchenAid tomorrow.

Our dishwasher is 3 1/2 years old. 4 of the 7 sections of the silverware baskets are useless because the bottom plastic grid has disintegrated. We replaced the motor last year because of plastic debris. I called KitchenAid after leaving a message on their website that was not returned with a response. Today I called and talked to 4 different people. The first one couldnt help me with a replacement unless I bought a new one; he transferred me to another but her computer wasnt working and she transferred me to another who took the info again and put me on hold. Another person answered as if I had not talked to anyone and offered to sell me a new one. I told her I thought KitchenAid that they should replace it and I had photos to prove my claim. She hung up on me. The total time was almost fifteen minutes on hold. So, I guess Im out of luck and will NEVER purchase KitchenAid or Whirlpool (who bought them) ever again.

In our fairly advanced years, my wife and I Splurged on a KitchenAid Refrigerator, Dishwasher, Gas stove, Warming drawer and a lot of other matching KitchenAid appliances and tools to complement our new kitchen. While a bit above our financial means, we purchased these based on KitchenAids reportedly High End quality and reputation with the expectation they would very likely outlast us. The stove, while being a self cleaning model, quickly experienced a failed control panel and we were summarily told that we cleaned our oven too often and the ovens heat fried the high tech front panel electronics. It’s fairly common. ARE THEY KIDDING? OVENS ACTUALLY PRODUCE HEAT? Whod O Thought! Then, our Top of the line Dishwasher went to scrap metal Heaven due to its being used too much... Water steam vapor damaged the doors inside control panel. Hmmm... As we have always done, we do our dishes every day as we strangely appreciate cleanliness and a healthy environment in our home which is evidently contrary to KitchenAid’s philosophy of product serviceability and durability standards. I think I get the part where an appliance would necessarily last longer if its not used, thats pretty simple even for me. What I just can’t seem to grasp though is how KitchenAid obtained its reputation for high end quality (as in durability) if their products require virtual non use to maintain any semblance of usability. Are They Kidding? Seriously? And as for the very expensive KitchenAid refrigerator we ordered direct from the factory? It was missing a plastic grill like air disperser part that subsequently caused a complete failure of the entire refrigerator and freezer shortly after the warranty expired. WooHooo... Im so happy, I wish I could say what I really think about KitchenAid and their products but the NSA would lock me up forever. KitchenAid obviously has their piece of the Corporate American Pie. Unfortunately, by most of the comments Ive read, it seems that consumer dissatisfaction will continue to be an ongoing experience for and at the expense of a growing number of very angry KitchenAid customers. Until that is, enough consumers educate themselves en-mass and RE-RATE KitchenAid products to accurately reflect the extremely poor quality and reputation they deserve. Seriously KitchenAid. ARE YOU KIDDING?

I got this new KitchenAid stove 1500 and was so happy with the way it looks, but... What a horrible product this company made! First, I had to exchange this stove, because of the computer problems it had (exchanged it two times). Unfortunately it was over 30 days so I could not return it. Second, it takes over 30 minutes to preheat the oven! Third, after a month of using it two light bulbs went off!! At the same time!!!Last, but not least their service team checked and stated that the temperature in the oven is right, but to roast or bake it takes twice as long! Not to mention that the glass top is made from some horrible material and it is very difficult to clean! And one area of glass is already chipped off!! I bought it in June 2016 four month ago! Dont buy Kitchenaid products!!!

I have a model KEBC107KSS04 Superba Self-Cleaning Electric Wall Oven/Convection. Self cleaning causes the oven to malfunction or breakdown. We cleaned the oven once and had to pay for a costly repair. Oven would not go up to desired temperature. Oven temperature stuck on Low . We cleaned the oven a second time and the same malfunction occurred. I’m not willing to pay for a second costly repair. KitchenAid, I am sure is aware of the problem. Just reading the complaints made me aware, I am not alone.

We have had 5 service calls to try and fix the cooling in the refrigerator
We have had 5 service calls to try and fix the cooling in the refrigerator and the ice maker. This stainless steel side by side unit is barely a year old. Having this issue repaired has been such a headache. Whirlpool/KitchenAid has many hoops to jump through and documentation needed. A month later, this issue is still unresolved. I am about to purchase a new refrigerator and just consider this a loss. I will never purchase another KitchenAid appliance again.
