I bought KitchenAid refrigerator, dishwasher, and range 2009. About two months ago, the ice maker would not dump ice into container. I had the ice maker serviced with 2 circuit boards on three occasions, still no ice. I had the ice maker replaced last week. It dumped two trays of ice in the next three hours. None since. Called factory service, and was told it MIGHT be the motherboard, at a cost in excess of $200 more. I have already spent in excess of $600 in repairs. My extended family of more than 100 people will NEVER purchase another KitchenAid appliance again.

NEVER purchase this refrigerator (KSC24C8EYY02). We have had this refrigerator for 4 years (Paid 1500.00 for it) and it is completely freezing over. Repairman told us that there is no sense in attempting to repair this machine; that he sees this same exact issue with this same exact refrigerator and he has never been able to repair one. THIS IS A LEMON. KitchenAid just says Oh, well.

While building a new home we selected KitchenAid for several of the appliances. The freezer in this refrigerator failed after less than 2 years. The factory approved service company was called and on the first visit they determined it to be a evaporator fan. Of course they did not have the part. So it was replaced on visit number 2. It failed again after about 1 month and visit number 3 was scheduled. This time it was determined to be a controller board. Again, the tech did not have the part so visit number 4 is scheduled. So far it has cost me almost $600 and 4 days of waiting for the tech to show up. Not good for a $3,000 + appliance.

I had an issue with the icemaker (not making ice). I called KitchenAid and technician came out. He stated he needed to order a part. We left for the weekend, came back and because the technician did not restart the refrigerator, we lost everything in the refrigerator and freezer. That was 3 months ago and icemaker is still not fixed.

There are many issues with KitchenAid dishwashers manufactures with the past three years and KitchenAid DOES NOT stand behind their products. My mother had the motor leak on hers after three years of light usage. I’ve had to wash dishes by hand due to its inability of dispersing water after 2.5 years of normal use. KitchenAid only offers to replace parts but wants the consumer to pay for labor, as well as house calls to fix a very faulty product. My adjustable top rack also broke at 2 years. This is a shame when people pay close to a grand expecting a quality product that should be reliable for longer than 2-3 years. My 20 year old dishwasher was far more reliable than this overpriced hunk of junk!

KitchenAid Model #KUDS30IVBT, 4 cycles, 6 options Architect SeriesII. I researched to find a dishwasher with a few upscale options at a reasonable price ($700). I also wanted the silverware rack separate & not built in to the dishwasher itself. This gives me heavy duty, normal, light/China & rinse only options. I also have a Pro scrub for those dirty pots & pans, a Sani-rinse, a high temp scrub, heat dry, and a 4 hr delay.

We purchased four KitchenAid items for our kitchen to receive a $600 rebate. Our reseller showed us the KitchenAid screen where all items were available for deliver in less than 30 days. This was a condition of our purchase. That was 04/01/2021. They delivered our oven and microwave and dishwasher. They never delivered our refridge nor wine cooler. They now claim end of the year. Our sales rep indicates maybe even later since the manufacturer reps come and go and KitchenAid changes its mind on deliveries. I called them and asked if we could pay a little more and pick them up IN STOCK at Best Buy and still get our $600 rebate. They refused. They are making us wait for an unreliable delivery date. They misrepresented the purchase. I saw the manufactures computer screen that said they would deliver. DO NOT BUY from whirlpool or KitchenAid since they will rob from you and not give you any rebates. In addition, they will not live up to their delivery dates even on their own computer system.

I am deeply disappointed with KitchenAid, an appliance manufacturer whom I thought built high quality, reliable products and who stood behind their products. I have a model KSSSC48QMS03 refrigerator that constantly runs with 1 second pauses and pinging noise. Technician diagnosed as faulty Gemini board 2307028 (W10219463). I cannot believe that Kitchen Aid does not provide repair part 2307028 (W10219463)! My home is only 8 years old and a showcase of high-end KitchenAid built-in stainless steel appliances; 48 wide refrigerator, microwave, warming drawer, double drawer dishwasher and gas stove with steamer. This Gemini Electronic Control is for the refrigerator (and, according to the service technician, in the stove as well). There are all kinds of complaints on the internet about KA refrigerators running continuously with a sonar-like pinging noise diagnosed as this faulty board. It is unbelievable that I have a $9K refrigerator for which KA will not provide a replacement part. According to the KA recommended service company, the only solution is to send the board off to a refurbisher. I dont like to buy parts from someone that is not supported by the manufacturer. Not that they may not do a good job, but that its not a new part, factory tested with manufacturer warranty. If this is what I can expect from KA, then as these appliances need to be replaced, I will change to a manufacturer who supports their products. Unbelievable, KitchenAid (Whirlpool)! This is probably a $50 part to manufacture that they could sell easily for $300. How can they anger so many customers? One comment said that KA told them this was due to the Tsunami in Japan that wiped out the plant. We had a plant affected as well at my company and its not hard to take the design to another manufacturing location.

Ice dispenser never sealed properly. Ice bin would freeze solid and local repair wasnt satisfactory. Finally, after the electric panel on the freezer door shorted out, we were told we needed an entire new door for over $1700. These doors are apparently made when ordered, so it took over 8 weeks to get the first door. It arrived crushed and unusable. Then the morons at KitchenAid made a second door, which also arrived damaged and unusable. Now we are waiting for third door to be delivered. DO NOT BUY ANY KITCHENAID MAJOR APPLIANCE! We had GE refrigerators for decades and never had a problem. KitchenAid goes out of its way to make crap and offend customers!

My KitchenAid model# KFEG500E does not hold the correct temperature for more than 20 minutes before it drops 15 to 20 degrees. It is near impossible to bake anything and have it be done at the correct time. I am shocked that the KitchenAid brand is so inferior to what it once was. My old KitchenAid oven served my family for 36 years before it finally died. My KitchenAid dishwasher is still going after 37 years and hope it lasts a little longer as I hate to see how bad the new ones are. It sure will not be a KitchenAid!

The shelving inside is pitiful. I remember when you bought a refrigerator all the shelves were made to be used and were included in the cost of it. Nowadays, that is not the case. Not realizing this, three of the shelves on the door side are not usable. These are considered extra and are not part of the purchase. I was dumb founded when I noticed that the brackets for these shelves were not included with the refrigerator when it was delivered. I was not told these were extra since the floor model DID have these shelves set up with brackets and all!!

I have owned this refrigerator (Kitchen Air refrigerator model #KFCS22EVMS2) for almost 4 years and it continually has had problems (e.g., seals around doors deteriorating). Before this I owned a SubZero for over 10 years and never had any problems whatsoever. If there had been room in my current house I would own a SubZero again. So I purchased what I hoped would be a fine quality refrigerator (the KitchenAid) to discover it is badly built with poor quality components. The question is, are there appliances that truly are quality built that are within the financial capability of the majority of people?

We purchased a Model KSC23C8EYY side-by-side KitchenAid refrigerator in November 2012 for over $2,499. Immediately we noticed that it was loud and often made strange noises. We tried leveling it precisely, but nothing made a difference. Sometime in 2013, we noticed that water had been leaking behind the refrigerator. We called the factory service people recommended by KitchenAid. They came out and replaced tubing at a cost of over $250 and said that it was not covered under the warranty because it had been installed incorrectly. In June 2014 The freezer and refrigerator quit getting cold. We called the same repair people. We had to wait days for a service appointment. They showed up and said they had to order the part. Again, we had to make an appointment and take off work for the next visit. This time, there was a different worker who said that the wrong part had been ordered. Again, we had to make an appointment and wait for days for someone to service our fridge. By this time we had been without a refrigerator for over two weeks and used coolers to try to keep as much of our food fresh as possible. Finally, on July 8, 2014 a repairman came out and fixed the refrigerator. It required a new compressor and recharging the system. I had to miss an entire day of work to wait on the repairman and then be there for the 3-hour repair. Luckily, this was clearly under warranty and the total cost of $654.79 was covered.Less than three months later on September 30, 2014, our refrigerator and freezer stopped cooling again. Unable to miss more work in order to wait for repairmen that may or may not fix the problem, we decided to just go to Home Depot and buy a GE refrigerator. In 55 years the KitchenAid refrigerator was absolutely the worst appliance that I have ever owned! Our money was truly thrown away.

KDTE204ESS - 24 inch dishwasher - Looks Nice but is trash. Bought in 2017 and ripping it out in 2020. Bad Soap dispenser in 2017 - serviced and replaced. Not cleaning dishes in 2017 - serviced and cleaned spinners not fixed. Had to rinse/clean dishes before running because they were always still dirty if we didnt from 2017 until now. Leaking on floor from broken sensor seal now in 2020. Was told by repairman that the pump doesnt turn the spinner cleaners because the pump is weak and has no pressure. So 700$ to fix the dishwasher and no guarantee that it will work any better with same crappy pump.

Two years ago we were renovating our kitchen and took out an old dishwasher that we had been using for 15 years. Still worked great but was very loud. We were looking for something quiet and it was a toss up between the KitchenAid and a Bosch. Sales guy steered us toward a high end KitchenAid, top of the line model, over $2000. What a piece of garbage. Within a couple of months we had control panel problems, then I noticed a huge stain on the cabinetry and called repair. Pulled the dishwasher out and it was leaking around all the screws that hold the racks in on the outside. Completely destroyed the cabinetry and that had to be replaced at our cost. Since then it’s been broke down three more times with electrical problems. It’s cost me at least half the value of the dishwasher and needs more repairs. I think I’m just going to pull it out and get a Bosch. What was I thinking... a BMW or a Pinto. Don’t buy a KitchenAid, they are garbage.

We purchased this KitchenAid refrigerator 2 years ago. The quality is amazingly poor. The flange on both crisper drawers broke during the first year. KitchenAid was kind enough to send replacements. Unfortunately they are the same design/same materials. Next the housing that covers the water filter broke off during the first filter change. Now, at two years, we have the plugged defroster drain that seems ubiquitous with these refrigerators. We shut the refrigerator off for a day with a small space heater directed at the drain in an attempt to thaw the thing out. No luck. Water still leaks down into the bottom of the freezer and eventually drains onto the floor. Weve had more problems with this unit than with every other refrigerator weve owned over the past 40 years - combined. Such a disappointment. KitchenAid use to make a quality product. Now their Kitchen products need constant Aid.

KitchenAid KEBS207SS double wall oven with upper convection - This past sum
KitchenAid KEBS207SS double wall oven with upper convection - This past summer, we had a new custom kitchen installed. It was all new from the ground up and very pricey. Instead of buying the high-end Euro brands for all the appliances, we decided to go with KitchenAid for our microwave, double ovens with convection and dishwasher (we did spring for the expensive German cooktop, which I now regret not using for the ovens too). Our KitchenAid ovens started out great. They both warmed up promptly, the convection worked perfectly and it looked great. On labor day weekend, I used the self-clean feature in the upper oven for the first time. Immediately there was the smell of burnt electrical wiring. Quickly, the family room, living room and hallway were hot and smelled too. We had to leave the room where we were watching TV, opened all the windows and turned on the ceiling fans. About 20 minutes later, there was a loud boom followed by crackling sounds. My husband and I came running in from different parts of the house. At first I didnt see anything strange, but kept hearing the popping sounds. Then, I noticed shattered glass all over the kitchen floor, in our pets food bowls and saw glass in the hallway, the family room and all over the counter tops. But the oven was still chugging away with the fan running, door locked and self-cleaning. As I looked more closely, I noticed that something wasnt right about the window on the upper door. The outer piece was intact, but the inner pane was missing. I tried to shut off the oven but since it was mid-process, it wouldnt stop immediately. I couldnt get the door open. After I began to clean up all the glass (which was scattered in a radius of about 15 feet from the ovens), the fan stopped and the door released. When I opened the door, shards of glass fell from it onto the floor. Not to mention the thousands of shards which had, under great pressure, been blown through the sealed door gaskets and out through the sides and under the bottom into the room.I was absolutely dumbfounded. Ive never seen anything like this before and Ive lived in many places and used dozens of self-cleaning ovens. While cleaning up the glass inside the oven, I got a deep cut on my hand. Later that night, I sent emails to the salesperson from the supply company where Id purchased the oven and other appliances. I thought I was in luck because I had purchased additional insurance on all the new appliances. But no luck. My salesman no longer worked there. My emails were auto-returned. I left voice messages but no one called back even after the holiday weekend. I emailed KitchenAid through their website; they give you no phone numbers. It took days to get a call back from anyone. KitchenAid told me to call the supplier. They told me to call their insurer. The insurance company told me it was still under factory warranty. I was chasing around in circles and still cleaning up bits of glass for more than a week. Finally, I heard back from a second complaint to KitchenAid which sent out a local factory repair to look at the mess. They told me theyd replace the glass. I said no. They wanted to charge me over $100 for the visit and I said no. I told them I wanted a new oven and they said they had no authority to order a new oven. So, I searched online and found literally dozens of similar stories, people with exploding KitchenAid ovens on self-clean or just at a high heat. I called back the KitchenAid customer service person (always ask for a name and number) and was referred to the safety department and insisted on a new oven. When the representative started to give me the runaround, I told her that I had looked up the oven on the internet and found dozens of the same instance. She said in a rude way that they were merely comments on the internet and couldnt be verified. When I said Id be happy to hire an attorney to litigate the case and that the first thing we would do would be to contact as many complaints on the web as we could, she suddenly changed her tune. A minute later, she told me that I would be getting a new oven.I wish I could afford to have just accepted it and then thrown it in the trash and replace it with the same brand as my cooktop. But I cant. My replacement was finally installed two days ago after waiting 4 weeks for the part. Ill never use self-clean again on this oven. And as soon as I can afford to do so, I will purchase another brand - any other brand than KitchenAid. After reading about the dishwasher doors that have been catching on fire, I doubt Ill ever buy the brand (or Whirlpool) again. I promise Ill warn as many people as possible. I dont know why there hasnt been a class action suit against them and why the ovens havent been recalled.

Tall side by side with brushed stainless finish and separate water and ice dispensers tall enough for glassware. Finish shows fingerprints and other marks, but cleans off ok. Filter cartridge accessed from outside and at bottom vent area. Controls and seals good for this unit and energy consumption seems about right and reasonable. Still has limitations of side by side for storage and standard depth is not as desirable as counter depth.

We bought a Kitchen Aid refrigerator 2 1/2 yrs ago. It has frozen up twice. We called the company. They said that the machine had been redesigned because of this problem. They agreed to supply the new parts but we would have to pay for the labor. Their factory service representative is not a company but rather a scheduling service for independent technicians. We were quoted a very high price based on a take-it-or leave it basis. We paid, but this is a very unfair company policy given that the company knew that it had a problem. After using the self-cleaning mode three times, the lock would no longer disengage. My oven (KEMC378) was still under warranty at the time so the locking device was replaced. Again after using the cleaning mode a few times, the problem reoccurred with the new lock. After about a week of not using my oven or microwave, the lock disengaged on its own. Needless to say, I no longer use the self-cleaning mode. Recently on 10/27/2012, the locking device, on its own, became engaged and will not release. I can no longer cook or microwave - its completely useless. I called KitchenAid on 10/29/2012 to see if my model was part of the recall. KitchenAid Refrigerator Counter Depth Side by Side KSC23C8EYY02 - This pertains to a new Refrigerator purchased in January 2013. Condensation formed above the ice/water dispenser on exterior of original freezer door. New freezer door was installed last week (after 2-month wait). Now, new problems pop up - the ice maker does not produce ice. The electronic display is defective (light segments do not work) and the freezer is super-cooling. 3 different service companies have been here since last Monday and the problem continues. Why cant someone figure this out? A new ice maker is on order, a new display is on order and today, we are told that the heaters (supposed to keep water line to ice maker from freezing) may be defective. We have 4 months before our one-year warranty runs out and no confidence that we will have a functional refrigerator before then.

Architect Series II Model KDTE704DBL0 is a $1,799 piece of junk. We purchased this top of the Kitchenaid line dishwasher to replace a 16 year old Bosch dishwasher. It was installed on May 11, 2015. Just two years later, in May, 2017, the control panel which operates the entire machine failed. It was still under warranty (labor not covered). It took a week to get the part which was replaced on May 26, 2017 at the cost of $100 for labor. About two weeks later, on June 10, 2017 the replacement control panel failed. This time it took over two weeks to get the replacement part. It was installed at the end of June. The owner of the appliance store gave me a break and only charged $50 labor this time.On Thursday, September 7, 2017 the second replacement control panel failed. And I am once again without a dishwasher. I have not yet heard when the third replacement control panel might be delivered and installed. And even when the dishwasher is repaired... After this how can I have any confidence that it will work for long? It was a horrible decision to buy this dishwasher. The price was three to four times the cost of the average dishwasher. I thought we were purchasing a quality product that would last for many years. I am so disappointed by how unreliable this dishwasher has proven to be. I wish I had stuck with the Bosch. My sister bought a Bosch for $1,200 a few months before I needed to replace my 16 year old Bosch. Its working fine and she loves it.

Every Kitchen Aid appliance we own has failed. We have had multiple repairs to the refrigerator (compressor failed), dishwasher (door hinges made of cord failed), oven (multiple problems), microwave door, etc. Only after I started blogging all over the internet, did Whirlpool partially compensate us for repairs (that is a very long story). This month, the plastic tabs holding the vent above the microwave broke, and the oven racks rusted when I washed them. The oven self-cleaning cycle doesnt work very well either. I will never, ever, buy a Kitchen Aid product again. I will tell my story everywhere.

Two years ago we purchased all new kitchen appliances. We did all appliances with KitchenAid, french door refrigerator, dishwasher, countertop range and built-in oven and microwave. The appliances were all mid range models, not bottom of the line. In the two years, we have had a gas stove top burner that would not light, the refrigerator stop cooling and freezing and now the upper rack on the dishwasher is broken and falls out when it has the weight of dishes. The stove top was in excess of $100 (but covered by warranty) and the refrigerator was in excess of $1200 (just squeaked in under the 2 yr warranty), the dishwasher part is $45, not covered by warranty. I would NEVER recommend KitchenAid. This has been just way too many problems with these appliances in such a short period of time, makes us worried by the quality and long term functionality.

My 4 yr old Kitchenaid started pinging so we called service and after they came out briefly, were told that it was the electronic board that was defective. However, the board is no longer available so they could not repair it. End of story, absolutely no effort to resolve the issue. There are companies that make this board but they are not approved suppliers. This thing cost quite a bit so Im extremely disappointed that Im left with a defective refrigerator making the noise that drives me crazy.

My husband and I purchased a KitchenAid dishwasher 2 years ago and had our first problem when we opened the dishwasher for the first time. The bracket holding the third shelf was broken. The dishwasher had already been installed so we could not return it without a lot of problem. KitchenAid sent out a technician and he replaced the part. The rack opened with much difficulty but he said he could do nothing about that. Over the next two years the dishwasher had a slow leak that was not detected until we noticed black mold growing over the side and front of our cabinet next to the dishwasher. We called kitchenAid and they sent another technician who informed us that the leak was a result of the replacement bracket being installed incorrectly. When we again called KitchenAid to rectify the problem that they caused we were informed that it was not their problem and we had to pay for the part as well as a large bill for labour. We are completely dissatisfied with KitchenAid and their total lack of support of their customers. I would never recommend a KitchenAid appliance to anyone. They do not back their product unless you are willing to pay again and again. As I have noticed on some of the other complaints filed with consumer affairs re: KitchenAid dishwashers, we also have noted a bad smell from the dishwasher if the door has been closed. I was unaware that it was the result of the dishwasher not having a fan motor. What an inferior product it truly is. Had we known we would never have spent so much money to purchase their product.

This is my second built-in KitchenAid Refrigerator. The first one lasted 13 years and the second one is 7 years old. We have had a company authorized repair service come out at least 7 items and they have replaced several parts in an attempt to get the ice and water to work. They have finally given up and said that the door needs to be replaced. However, KitchenAid no longer makes this door so it means we have to spend $10,000 to replace this lemon refrigerator.

After first wash realized not drying dishes and was leaking soap from bottom of door. Serviceman ordered four parts. A week later while we were waiting for part as we were using it stopped and showed two errors and water inside the unit. They said it was pump and part was not available though manufacturer. I requested from Kitchenaid for replacement. They said the warranty is only good for repair not replacing it. So now after eight weeks w/o dishwasher we have to wait for another three to four.

We purchased a model home that came with all the kitchen appliances. The appliances were purchased in January 2015. We have live in our new house for a little over a year. I am very disappointed in the Kitchen Aid Side by Side, model KSF26G4XYY03. In the past year, we have had two drawers break in the refrigerator. The face of the drawer came off and plastic on the drawer cracked off. Also, a drawer in the freezer busted where the plastic covers the wheel of the drawer. This is NOT quality construction. I was told by Product Registration in Benton Harbor, MI that only the bins are covered through years 2 - 5...really??? When this refrigerator needs to be replaced, it will not be by a Kitchen Aid.

Three years ago I upgraded my entire kitchen with stainless KitchenAid appliances, after much research - with a hefty price tag. I liked that the products were made in the USA and that they were considered high-end appliances. I even replaced a Bosch dishwasher (it did not live up to its reputation). The oven cost $1500 and change at the time of purchase, and the model is now over $1900. Two and a half years later my oven started having problems - it turns off during cooking and will not come back on. I had repair people out several times but they could not fix it. Turns out it needs a whole new keyboard, which is over $800 just for the part. I tried to contact KitchenAid customer service - yes, this was out of the 1 year warranty but I felt that it should not be having such problems after only 2.5-3 years (the oven that I replaced was 15 years old and was in perfect working order - and was a much lower-end appliance).Anyway, I have tried in vain to get KitchenAid to help me but they will not. My dishwasher has also had several pieces fall off that have had to be replaced. You would think this company would help their customers but no, they ignored my letter. All I wanted was to purchase a new oven at a discount - which they would normally allow but they will not let me do so because I have a home warranty plan (which I had not used to help in any way other than to diagnose the issue). Shame on KitchenAid for such horrible customer service, and for selling overpriced appliances that do not last and definitely are NOT worth the high prices. At first, I would notice that every once in a while, it wouldnt get the dishes completely clean, and then it got to be more and more. I had a repairman come out today and he said it needs a whole new motor mechanism. This will cost at least $250 (we paid almost $1,000 for the dishwasher). I believe the adage is true, things just arent made the way they used to make them. Its 4 years old, the wheels pop out of the top track constantly and weve had some problems with leaking. Maintenance was out to fix a problem within 6 months of owning because the motherboard fried. It went almost a year without working through certain commands. For instance: if you wanted to use the normal or heavy wash cycles, forget it, the machine would only run the one hour cycle. Its just been a pain in the butt. However, it is quite quiet. Especially compared to our last dishwasher. Not as quiet as some, but it is sufficiently quieter than I had expected.

Then, the bottom drawer stopped draining and held water in the tub all the time. The repair man quoted me over $900.00 for the repair. He suggested that I not repair it, and I agreed with him. Now, my second pair is making loud noises and I am afraid it is on its way to death as well. I am so disappointed in these dishwashers. In 2010 my wife had her dream kitchen installed, which included all Kitchenaid Stainless Steel appliances. All top of the line. (Sadly, my wife died a year and a half later of cancer) It is now just me, and an occasional child home from college, so these appliances are getting very light use. The freezer on the bottom refrigerator started to fill with ice at the bottom, which destroyed the Cherry floor underneath. This was due to a clogged duck valve, which is a two dollar part. The repairman said that they all do it, and a replacement part that was modified was installed. The damage to the floor is estimated to be over a thousand dollars. The dishwasher has gone through two thermal fuses, and now wont cycle. Im waiting for the repairman as I write this. I will never recommend any Kitchenaid appliance to anyone, and my three kids who are all in the process of going out on their own will not either. My call to Kitchenaid for the refrigerator problem was not only unhelpful, but I ended up at a call center in who knows where. So, avoid this brand. I am so disgusted with the dishwasher that I am ready to have it replaced.

The technician thinks it may be a wiring harness so now we are still without a dishwasher and are waiting for that part. By now I am asking for a new dishwasher from KitchenAid but they insist that my warranty only covers parts replacement and will continue to replace parts until they deem it necessary to replace. Purchased KitchenAid undercounter KDTE204DSS at Best Buy 12/2014 - used 1-2 x weekly. Great machine: good drying, no spotting, relatively quiet & clean dishes! Bottom rack occasionally left track when pulling out by corner rather than center. Paid $700 at Best Buy [in package deal with other appliances] $20 kit & was told this model would last minimum 8-10 years so I didnt purchase $159.00 Geek Squad extended warranty.10/2018 [after 4 years light duty] started making grinding and whining noises. Called Best Buy and they referred me to KitchenAid, who then referred me to local authorized KitchenAid repair service. $125.00 just to come out and diagnose, but could be applied to repair if applicable. After tearing entire machine apart [literally removing from under counter, unscrewing panel & interior components, detaching control panel & parts all over my kitchen] service tech needed to make several calls to his company before finally announcing that it was the *computer* that was shot - which would cost $450.00 to replace. At this point, without any warranty on the rest of the machine - it didnt make sense to repair. KitchenAid helpline was polite but could do nothing to help me. Dilemma is Id prefer to move to Bosch, but most reviews say KitchenAid dries better and I do not want mildewy odor. Very disappointed with extremely poor US manufacturing in all appliances.

I inherited a KitchenAid dishwasher (model KUD102CRBS) when I bought my house. It appears to be a mid to high-end model. It worked fine for the first 8 months or so. Then the counterbalance system for the door (which is quite heavy) broke, and the door came crashing down. Now, the latching mechanism has failed, and the door keeps popping open. The unit doesnt do such a great job at cleaning the dishes, either. From what I have gathered, KitchenAid used to be a good brand. I have purchased smaller items with this brand name. However, given my experience with this unit, the price that the previous owners surely must have paid and the surprising number of complaints on this site, I have changed my position. Its probably not worth the cost to repair it, so I will probably replace it with a high-quality make & model as rated by its users. Unless I hear much better things about the brand in the future, I will never buy KitchenAid again.

I purchased an Architect Series II gas range in July 2009. The range is in a home that is inhabited only part time and has not been used much. In fact, it has probably been used a total of twelve times in two years. The first time that I used the self-clean function, the digital control panel went blank and the oven door remained locked. This occurred after about 1.5 hours of the self-clean cycle. I have researched this issue and discovered that it is an exceedingly common defect. Although this is marketed as a self-clean oven, it can never be self-cleaned without the risk of damaging a fuse that controls the control panel. When I contacted KitchenAid, they acknowledged that this defect has been recognized and repaired, but that my model and serial number do not fall within the recognized group of defective products. My product is an Architect Series II gas range. The numbers associated with it are KGRS807SSS and XY0202920. I have attempted to get KitchenAid to address the problem, but, as described above, they claim that my product falls outside the range of those that are defective. My problem is purely coincidental, although there are many similar complaints regarding the same product listed here.

I purchased a KitchenAid refrigerator just over 1 year ago and have been having issues with the ice maker since about month 10. I just dont understand how consumers are left holding the bad end of the stick with products that are sub-par when we purchase in good faith and even purchase extended warranties. I was asked when I called for service of the same issue for the second time in about a month, if I had called the manufacturer to inquire about the issue. I quickly responded that this is the very reason that I purchased a 3-year extended warranty and that I consider this to be her/the companys job to investigate and find out and not mine. I suggest before anyone purchases a major appliance to do a considerable amount of research to find out the good, the bad, and the ugly about the product. Otherwise, you will spend a lot of time being frustrated.

We have owned this refrigerator for 7 years, and it started to leak. Wood floor and all the other issues included. Since we had extended warranty, we contacted the company. Although it did take longer than I hoped to have them come out, but thank goodness we think the problem is fixed, thanks to a great serviceman from A&E. He was an older repairman, and I give credit to that. He seemed very experienced and it was fixed within one and a half hour. After I read all the reviews before he came I was very discouraged, but he explained what the problem was and it sure makes sense. When he came, he removed the panel, defrosted all the ice and blew air through the drainage hose. Once the drainage hose was cleaned out, we found in the drain pan a plug of vegetables (frozen kale) He explained that this must have fallen on the bottom of the freezer, ended up in the drainage hose and plugged it up.Once it was all cleaned up, we have not had a problem. So what is of great importance in the future is that a person does not let pieces of vegetables fall into the bottom of the freezer. Because it might get stuck again into the drainage hose. I hope I have saved other owners from this misery and maybe prevent you from the same problem we had.

They have put in 3 different panels of the controls, that all I do is wait from 5 to 12 for them to show up plus I am without a dishwasher for a week till they can come out. Then I have to wait another week for the part to show up. They came out this last time on 7-23-2012 and they left and the problems started all over even though they put in a new panel. I have no idea what your company did to ruin a good dishwasher but this is a piece of **. Now, they tell me this is the fourth time today, 7-25-2012, so they will replace it. Well, I guess my question is, am I going to have the same problems that I had with the other 3 dishwashers they have given me? They are taking my time and all the work to put this in again and again and again. Your company should fix this problem you are having with this dishwasher. We have had KitchenAid appliances for years and when we built our new home 2 years ago we selected high end KitchenAid for our kitchen. We have had a problem with the water and ice dispenser from the beginning. KitchenAid sent a tech out to replace a part and one year later the same problem is back. I called KitchenAid and they scheduled an appointment with the same company that didn’t fix it the first time. I emptied the entire refrigerator as asked so they could work on it and then get a call from Guinco Service that there will be a $130 charge for the tech to come out plus the cost of parts and labor. The customer service person at KitchenAid lead me to believe they would take care of it since it is an ongoing problem. When I called them back they said, Oh no. It is out of warranty. Well why did they schedule the appointment and want to send the same people that didn’t fix it the first time. Repair tech said KitchenAid does not carry replacement for defective Main Circuit Board because Japanese factory for the board was damaged by the tsunami during the large earthquake that destroyed nearby nuclear plant, so customers have to wait till 2020, per KitchenAid, for KA to have replacement circuit board again. That tsunami was in March 2011 -- more than 4 years ago; how long does it take to have another company make that circuit board? Or does KitchenAid not care about its obligations to its customers for prompt availability of replacement parts? In reading the other damning reviews on this website, I am getting a clearer picture of the poor accountability of this manufacturer. What I do not understand is that Whirlpool, a highly regarded brand in appliances, is apparently allowing their upscale KitchenAid brand to languish in poor management practices.

Weve repaired the plastic opening handle on our KitchenAid-Whirlpool dishwasher twice in 5 years. A $49 plastic part. It has cost us >$500 to repair this poorly designed opening system twice in a decade. We have used KitchenAid dishwashers for 4 decades. Never again. Warn your friends, KitchenAid-Whirlpool dishwashers are designed now to wear out quickly. They substitute plastic for metal parts. Engineered obsolescence.

Remodeled kitchen and purchased 4 kitchen aid appliances - thinking they were of great quality and would last. Had nothing but problems since purchased shortly after purchased. Had problem with microwave door problems with fridge - ice maker. Problem with oven when self-clean - shuts down and cant open door. Had fixed 2x -this is the 3rd time! Dishwasher fixed more than once - refused to get fixed again and pay over $300 - can buy a new one.I currently have an ice maker, dishwasher and oven that does not work. Raising 4 children, I am VERY dissatisfied with Orvilles where I purchased the appliances and ESPECIALLY KitchenAid - that doesnt back up the products they manufacture with defects. I will NEVER purchase anything KitchenAid EVER again or shop at Orvilles. I have paid so many service charges and part bills. I refuse to give them any more money!

I have a KitchenAid Double Oven Gas Range. I read up on the oven before purchase and my purchase was due to the high ratings it received. I love the double oven, but I am very disappointed with the stainless steel stove top range. I consider my self pretty careful with my appliances, but taking care of the stove top is ridiculous. It scratches easily and within weeks of use, brown stains have formed around the burners which will not come off. Of course, you cannot use abrasives and stainless steel cleaner does not work. This oven is only a few months old and I planned on having it for a long time especially with the price paid and being a KitchenAid appliance which is known to be a reputable name. I am at a loss, I am hoping KitchenAid will stand behind their name and do something to make this right.

While still under warranty, the dishwasher circuit panel no longer operated. No lights and did not turn on. I called the recommend repair service and was told it would be too costly to replace the control panel and to buy a new dishwasher. I called KitchenAid and was told to turn off the circuit breaker that provides power to the dishwasher. This works but must be turned off after each use. If I dont turn it off immediately after using it and try and do it later, it takes days before it operates again and the circuit panel must be off during the wait.

I called the manufacturer but was told that despite the wording in the instruction manuals warranty section, Second Through Fifth Year on Certain Component Parts, the problem was not covered, this despite the specific inclusion of nylon dish racks and electronic controls. I also purchased an extended five year warranty from H.H. Gregg for $149.99 but they too refuse to honor it. In other words I bought a defective product which the manufacturer refuses to stand behind while the retailer ripped me off for an additional 150 bucks. Needless to say Ill never buy from either company again.

We went with the KitchenAid suite of appliances because we liked the reviews we read about the dual fuel double oven range (KDRS505X). I like my oven a lot....except the cooking surface scratches so easily! How am I ever going to clean around the burners when it seems the surface scratches when barely touched. Our microwave hood (KHMS2040) had turned out to be a terrible choice. The vent fan is horribly loud. Service came out to look at it about 3 weeks ago and determined we needed a new motor. (That wont come for another 3 weeks). This past weekend, the fan AND microwave suddenly turned on by itself. The microwave light came on and the turntable started turning. And it was louder than ever. We couldnt turn it off by pushing the cancel button or the fan button. Finally had to unplug it. Now we are afraid to leave it plugged in. What if it turned on by itself and we werent home? Scary.

We got our dishwasher last month (Nov 2019) and now a month later it is not working because it does not close at all. Tech came today (Dec 31 2019) and said he has to order the part before he can fix it, WE have been washing by hand for the last 10 days and will have to continue doing it for 2 weeks more... Very sad... Tech also told me to Find a way to close it so I can use it, I TOLD HIM NO... Because I dont want to waive the warranty. What kind of advice is that? Very Unhappy and unsatisfied with this product. STAY AWAY FROM KITCHENAID PRODUCTS.

On 12/28/10, I purchased a KitchenAid fridge, model kscs25fvms, for over $2000. One year later, it started making a loud mechanic noise. When I got home from work, it had stopped cooling. Time to buy ice coolers and ice. The repairman came out and stated that the compressor had failed. After numerous emails to KitchenAid, not one response. The bottom line is that they dont care about the customers. Its the mighty dollar they are after. Please, I beg of you, dont purchase any KitchenAid or Whirlpool products. They are defective. No quality product should fail after one year of service. Try a Japanese or German product. You should have better luck with them.

Purchased new refrigerator Oct 2013. One year later it failed - not keeping food cool enough. Parts were replaced. One year later it failed again - same problem but different cause. This time it was a manufacturing defect which, according to the repairman, was well known but we had received no notice. Again, according to the repairman, there had been six updates to the control panel during that year but again, no notice from KitchenAid. Now, two months later, it has failed again. This time it is some sort of internal water leak which was undetected until it ruined about half my kitchen cabinets, the lower adjacent wall and several feet of living room wood floor. Fortunately I have both home insurance which will cover most of the house damage and an extended warranty on the refrigerator which will cover that repair but I am still out a substantial deductible which I intend to be reimbursed by KitchenAid. Further, under no circumstances would I recommend a KitchenAid appliance to anyone. This particular model is a POS and further, KitchenAid does not apparently care what happens to the appliance once it leaves their factory.

It was defrosted and plugged in again but has not gone past 6 degrees. I have lost a lot of money in food and KitchenAid will not reimburse. Then, we muted the TV and we heard a second loud noise and went to see. The glass from the oven was scattered all over the floor and even reached the living room and adjacent rooms. We all were saying we are lucky nobody was at the kitchen at the moment it happened, but now I think there are many similar cases and want to do something. This event happened yesterday night, 10-19-12. Today, we will contact KitchenAid about it but as we read from the other complaints, it looks like Kitchen Aid is not going to cooperate. We have had a KitchenAid dishwasher (model # KUDI01FLBL3) for over six years now. We purchased this dishwasher so we could mount a cabinet panel on the front to match the kitchen cabinets. After just one year, the plastic parts in the door spring assembly broke and the door came crashing down. Customer service told me that the parts would not be under warranty. After several hours of talking to different departments, I finally received the parts at no cost. Less than two years later, the same parts broke again and the door came crashing down. I talked to several technicians at KitchenAid stating that this was a design flaw. They said it was more than likely due to the panel I had installed on the front of the dishwasher being too heavy. I removed it and took it back to the cabinet shop. It was one pound under the recommended weight. I paid $100 to remove another two pounds of wood from it before reinstalling it along with new plastic door parts (which I had to pay for this time). The same parts have broken two more times in the past three years. I have had the cabinet company install removable panels in the cabinets on both sides of the dishwasher for easier access to replace the broken plastic parts. Now, the door latch will not hold the door closed. I called customer service for replacement parts. It was going to be over $100 for parts and shipping! They stated that there was nothing wrong with the original design but they now have redesigned the original parts. This was the same story I got for the plastic door spring assembly parts! Between the door parts, cabinet work and now the latch, Im now going to buy another dishwasher. It will not be a KitchenAid ever!

Kitchenaid Oven Model # KEBC177K5503: This was the second time it quit working after using the self-clean feature. We paid to have it fixed the first time but called KitchenAid the second time. After seeing all the other complaints, we thought they would at least send out a DIY kit to replace thermo piece that keeps the oven from working. They would only charge me for a service call and then any necessary parts. Their reasoning is that they wont fix something that hasnt been recalled but who has the authority to recall the defective ovens? KitchenAid! I will never, ever purchase any KitchenAid product again! And I will spread the word every chance I get. When I see how many complaints there are out there for this product and KitchenAid is laughing all the way to the bank, it makes me angry.

My KitchenAid dishwasher stopped working, no power to machine, after 18 months. I had a family plumber look at it and he said the machine was getting power to all parts, but front panel must be broken. I called KitchenAid and they gave me a number of a local certified repair place and said all parts are under warranty. The repair place came in 2 days and didnt even look at the machine. The man took the front panel off and fixed it in 5 minutes by replacing the thermal cutout, he said. He said it is a common problem with this model, that this part overheats and blows out and the company knew about this but did not recall these models. He replaced it with a newer version now made to not let this happen. I feel KitchenAid should pay for the service repair since it was a part they knew was defective. I called KitchenAid customer service and they said they wont pay because there was no recall on this model. Great customer service. I will never buy a KitchenAid product again and will tell all friends and family to do the same.

We purchased a KitchenAid dishwasher (model # KUDS30IXSS4) about 3 1/2 years ago when we remodeled the kitchen. The plastic clips that held the upper rack in place broke 2 different times... This was shortly after the warranty expired so I paid both times for the repair. KitchenAid did finally replace this plastic clip with a metal clip on all of their dishwashers but they called it an upgrade and not a recall so they did not reimburse me for the almost $300.00 I had spent on previously repairing the faulty clips. Shortly after the plastic clips had broken the second time the dishwasher made a funny noise. I shut the washer off and then restarted it... Upon restarting it...it seemed fine... However, shortly after this it stopped cleaning the dishes...This was right in the interim when KitchenAid replaced the plastic clip and went to the metal. What we did not realize is that pieces of the broken plastic went down into the chopper/grinder and broke that section of the dishwasher. When the repair man finally realized what had happened we called KitchenAid. I asked KitchenAid to step up and take responsibility for the faulty design and they declined saying that there was not enough evidence/proof that it was faulty design. Needless to say I will never purchase another KitchenAid/Whirlpool product only because they will not step up and take responsibility for their product. Final note...this new repair will cost another $300.00.

KitchenAid fridge model #: KFIV29KPMS03, S/N K43117611. Delivered: 9-16-14. Price: $3,038.00, including $ 199.99 for five year warranty. Issue: Defective freezer seal causes frost ice accumulation, see photo, below. 1st warranty call to KitchenAid 10-22-14 recd appointment for 10-27-14. Repair tech made a few adjustments. 2nd warranty call 11-12-14 recd appointment on 11-14-14. Repair tech said the seal looked good and, based on his experience, the factory fix was to put silicon sealant on the fridge to seal any seams or gaps. He was correct. My position: I expressed to the repair tech and to the factory trouble call reps that silicon sealant is not a permanent fix. The freezer seals installation, or seal design, or seal installation, or structure alignment, or something else was defective and that I was not in favor of applying silicon sealant to fix a manufacture defect. I also called RC Willey, the place of purchase and where I also purchased a five year warranty and expressed my issues. They deferred to the factory. If silicon sealant fixes this defect, why dont the display/floor models have it on them?Photo 11-14-14. Can anything be done to force KitchenAid to replace this obviously defective product?

I told her, that everybody knows about this problem but KA and that there should be a recall. She kept repeating your oven is out of warranty and we cant help you. I said fine, Ill join the army of unhappy customers in the Internet and will just spread the word about how badly KA design their products. She said again that she cant help me. Oh, well, apparently KA doesnt care.Ive already bought the part off Amazon (Whirlpool p/n 9759242, $34, fits just fine) and have installed it myself, not a big deal, but this is definitely the last product of KitchenAid in my household. Im a Hurricane Sandy victim - most of my house wiped out. Rebuilt and purchased all new KitchenAid appliances in 2013. Within a few months, dishwasher had a leak (fixed) and rust spots and discoloring of door panel - poor quality steel. Customer Service says these are cosmetic and they are not responsible. Rust spots probably because we live near the water. ABSURD! ALSO - electronic panel on door failed - option lights not working, trying to get fixed.Refrigerator- Control panel failed- shows false high temps and warning lights - was replaced. Failed again. Trying to get panel replaced again. Quality Control needs to look at hundreds of complaints on the internet. Still have great stress from Hurricane Sandy - KitchenAid is causing more stress. Very unhappy - spoke with my contractor about dropping KitchenAid from their product line. What happens when the warranties expire? Will I have to pay for these future quality failures? Would not recommend your products.

We have had a top-of-the-line KitchenAid dishwasher for over 5 years. This washer gets light use as we eat out a lot and only seasonal residents. The first problem was the failure of the door to stay closed. A repairman came out and we discovered that they use heavy string to attach the door and it broke with a $200 repair. About 6 months later, my wife was pulling out the dish rack and a plastic piece in the track came out. About 2 weeks later, the other sides plastic piece came out and now the entire rack falls down if you pull the rack out too far. Another $210 to fix. None of this should have happened if they used quality dependable parts.

In 2013 I purchased a KitchenAid package of appliances for my house. Since last year I have had the repair people out on 5 different occasions and I am still having issues. The model number is KFIS29PBMS02. Initially I was having issues with the ice maker and freezer and the PO code which means powers failure. I was told to have an electrician check the outlet which I did and it was fine. They then said it was a circuit board but didn’t know which one and they recommend replacing both which we did. No sooner did they leave and the code popped up again. They said it must have been a bad board and replaced another board. After they left it acted up again. Tech came out and said it was a bad deli board which is the last thing the company wants to replace due to the cost. I told them ice machine is still not working right. He said I may need a new machine. I couldn’t afford one at this point after taking numerous days off from work to meet the repairman. Fridge had also frozen up and the guy defrosted with his heat gun and said KitchenAid knows that the condensers are bad because they are aluminum and they have been replacing them. Fridge froze up again, ice maker makes ice randomly say a tray a week if lucky. I put bought ice in the dispenser and it melts. They are coming to replace the condenser this week after making arrangements for someone to stay at my house to wait for the repairman.Talked to different repairman today before he came and told him the problem and he said it may not be the condenser which is under warranty still (5 years). Frustrated as hell and think there is class action status here. Customer service at Kitchenaid sucks. They do not care and basically told me I didn’t put enough money out to qualify as a lemon.

Do you know what temperature the glass is when it shoots out of the oven? I called the extended warranty company who tried to deny the claim to fix it. I spent over an hour on the phone just to secure a service appointment. Then I look online and discover that many people are having the same issue with ovens that were purchased about the same time as mine. Consequently, after the oven is repaired it still does not function properly. That is a concern for the safety of my home and my children. Then I contact customer service at KitchenAid. Their response is that they are sorry but Ill have to deal with the extended warranty company. They documented my story and that was it. Clearly there have been other complaints. The lack of response makes the company negligent. Further, they are endangering me, my family and my home if this product that operates at dangerously high temperatures fails or malfunctions again.
