KitchenAid had an advantage right away with me. Our old dishwasher was so noisy my wife would not start it until we went to bed far away from it. So I was ready to spend anything when we replaced it. We spent a little more, not much really, and have been happy ever after. Our KitchenAid has been very quiet and we are happy campers. I am definitely a fan of KitchenAid dishwashers.

The Kitchenaid French Door refrigerator (KFIS25XVMS8) has an ice dispenser
The Kitchenaid French Door refrigerator (KFIS25XVMS8) has an ice dispenser that is poorly designed. When you remove your glass from the dispenser, the dispenser continues to eject ice, all over the hardwood floor. This has occurred since the refrigerator was purchased six months ago. The repairman sent by Kitchenaid said that this was normal operation and could not be fixed. Kitchenaids customer service said the same thing. This is a terrible design and makes the ice dispenser unusable. The refrigerator is otherwise OK.

I purchased a KitchenAid microwave for $784.00 and $102.00 for the extended warranty and both of those were my problem. The microwave went out and I have had to make over 10 different calls and waste over 5 hours on the phone with KitchenAid extended warranty company. At first they refused to cover the oven because they said it was heat related damage. I have to admit that I am not very smart but I do know that a microwave oven has to get hot in order to work! After I called the store I purchased it from and after the repair company called them on my behalf, they want me to accept only 75% of replacement value. I can never recommend anyone to buy KitchenAid or Whirlpool products because with my experience, they do not stand behind their products or care about their customers. I have spoken to 3 supervisors; all of them follow the company line. The difference in dollars to keep a satisfied customer is $236.00. That is not much for a multi-billion dollar company. I will continue to contact as many information outlets as possible including TV, radio and newspapers, as well as spending time in appliance stores to inform others of my experience. All I can say is purchase KitchenAid/Whirlpool at your own risk!

I purchased a KitchenAid refrigerator just over 1 year ago and have been having issues with the ice maker since about month 10. I just dont understand how consumers are left holding the bad end of the stick with products that are sub-par when we purchase in good faith and even purchase extended warranties. I was asked when I called for service of the same issue for the second time in about a month, if I had called the manufacturer to inquire about the issue. I quickly responded that this is the very reason that I purchased a 3-year extended warranty and that I consider this to be her/the companys job to investigate and find out and not mine. I suggest before anyone purchases a major appliance to do a considerable amount of research to find out the good, the bad, and the ugly about the product. Otherwise, you will spend a lot of time being frustrated.

Kitchen-Aid model KUDE70FXSS4 - This dishwasher has a problem with the top rack that keeps rolling out when trying to load dishes into the bottom rack. I’m unable to adjust the level to allow the top drawer to stay in place because the rear of the washer has wheels and they have no height adjusters, and you cannot raise the front using the adjusters provided because it is as high as it can go, as the counter top will not allow further height adjustment.I noticed a part on the top drawer that connects to the water system for the top rack rotating spray wand had protruding plastic fingers that fit into female slots in the back of the washer. The fingers did not have any detents that would hold the rack in place. I added a detent to each finger, and now when you push the rack in, it locks it in place. They must have forgotten to include this in their design. If they would have provided adjusters on the back wheels, we could have lowered the back and the top rack would have stayed in position by gravity. However, I think the added detents to the fingers is a better solution as this locks the rack in place and gravity allows the rack to stay out when loading dishes. I hope this helps anyone else that has this same problem.

I purchased all new KitchenAid appliances for mothers day in 2013. My refrigerator worked for about a year, and since that time I have place 6 service calls. Yes, I bought the extended 5-year warranty for $300, but thats a joke too. My refrigerator has made loud humming sounds, the ice melted, and I lost all the contents of the freezer and refrigerator. The ice container has rust in it (company wont replace), and when I called for service like today, they say Oh we can get there in 2 weeks. After reading all the complaints on this site, KitchenAid must know that its customers are not happy. I will never buy KitchenAid again.I am surprised that in an industry where customer service is king (or should be), this company cares so little about its customers. I would be willing to entertain a class action lawsuit on this company for selling faulty products. I too have to take time off of work every time the repair man comes out. I think its time this company be held responsible for the products it sells. Is there a lawyer our there that can help the little guy who just wants a refrigerator that works?

KitchenAid® Superba® Series EQ Built-In Dishwasher - KUDE40FXBL1 - Like many others in this column, we spent a bit more money to buy a Kitchenaid dishwasher, thinking that the quality was better. The delivery date for our dishwasher was April 26, 2011. As many have noted, the wheel system on the upper racks continues to fail. The plastic tabs that hold the wheels onto the dishwasher rack adjuster breaks, allowing the wheels to come off and ultimately leading to the upper rack dropping down on top of the dishes in the lower rack. On April 7, 2012, a few weeks shy of one year, and just before the end of the full coverage warranty, we had the dishwasher rack adjuster replaced for the first time by Sears technicians (since the machine was purchased from Sears). In January 2013, two of the four wheels were falling off again and allowing the rack to unexpectedly drop from the upper rails. After much complaining to Kitchenaid, they agreed to send replacement parts (2 dishwasher rack adjusters, one for each side, part number W10350376). The new parts are exactly the same as the two sets of dishwasher rack adjusters that failed in the past. I had hoped that Kitchenaid would have made a design change to the parts by this point in time, but it appears as though they have not addressed the issue. I will be replacing the parts by myself, and if there is no change in design, it looks like this may be an annual task. If anyone knows of a solution, kindly advise.

We have had nothing but trouble with our new refrigerator (Counter depth refrigerator with French doors on top), which was delivered Aug 14th 2017. By Aug, it quit. We had to get everything out to save it, hauled it to our daughters extra refrigerator and freezer, and it took 3 1/2 wks to get it fixed. The computer board went out and of course, it had to be ordered. We didnt get our refrigerator back until sometime in Sept. Then, just before Christmas, it quit again. Finally got someone out between the holidays to take a look at it, and of course, it couldnt get fixed until the 3rd of Jan because a panel was out on the new computer board. There is a serious design problem with this refrigerator, and KitchenAid will not replace it or refund our money. Not a reputable company! Theyve cut corners on their products and are not the quality they used to be. Steer clear! We are in our 18th home and have had many refrigerators over the years. This is the worst. I also have a brand-new KitchenAid microwave that has been fixed and replaced because it had issues. Just wouldnt buy this brand.

We purchased a white Kitchen Aid gas range (model #KGRS206XWH2). Less than two months after installation, the lettering on the burner control knobs is dissolving off, and smears off with the touch of a finger. I called Kitchen Aid for new knobs, and they said they would send new control knobs as a one time courtesy. They do not consider it under warranty, as they call it a cosmetic issue. No chemicals, or abrasives have been used on these knobs. It is not a cosmetic issue, its an engineering defect, and a safety issue. Unless you want to live for years, with a range that has no lettering on the burner control knobs, dont purchase this range!

I loved my two year old KitchenAid Dishwashers until it started falling apart. Literally, we found disintegrated plastic pieces and ball bearings in the dishwasher. The plastic and ball bearings are part of the rolling racks. Seriously? The dishwasher is only two years old and it is disintegrating before our eyes. I couldnt believe it. Then I started to Google KitchenAid Dishwashers and ball bearings immediately popped up - indicating clearly other customers have had the identical problem. KitchenAid - what can we do??? Should I buy replacement parts? Advise us please!

I had a KitchenAid Dishwasher KITCHENAID CLASSIC SERIES KUDC10IXSS installed in February of 2012. I live alone. I run the dishwasher two or three times a week. This unit has failed on me repeatedly. It failed while it was under warranty, then it failed again right after the warranty expired. KitchenAid took care of that repair, but that repair failed again today. This units control system is faulty. I dont know if it is a design or manufacturing issue, all I know is that if you are going to spend your money on a major appliance, KitchenAid is not the brand to spend it on. I doubt I am alone with this problem. I believe a class action lawsuit should be filed against KitchenAid and that purchasers of this product should be provided with a five year parts and labor service plan at no cost.

Five weeks and they still have not fixed the problem. Parts of backorder, incompetent repair people, and a general lack of caring by KitchenAid. We have also had our high end refrigerator break down without being able to be repaired and another dishwasher with two motor repairs. Cheap products and poor quality all around. Would not recommend KitchenAid ever!!!

French Door Refrigerator - KRFC300ESS. I should have read reviews about KitchenAid appliances before I purchased one. Please read this review and be careful when selecting your appliances and also check the warranty and service for these appliances. I purchased the refrigerator in October, 2016. In August, 2017, the freezer stopped working so all the food I had there I had to take out and consume or keep it in an ice box with ice. The refrigerator part also did not work - the temperature was +12C. I called Whirlpool (they are responsible for KitchenAid) and I was told that they will send out a technician. The technician came on August 23 but said he needs to order the part. The part came and the technician changed it on August 30. The freezer worked but the refrigerator didnt. I called back customers centre at Whirlpool and they sent out the technician again on September 1. The problem still was not fixed and the repair guy came back on September 13 and said he has to order another part. The part which was ordered was a wrong part so it had to be re-ordered and the 2nd order came on September 27th. After that call the refrigerator worked but then it started to freeze stuff. Once again the technician came on October 16 and said he has to order another part, on October 24 he installed it.Yesterday I discovered that my fresh basil, lettuce were frozen. Again. I called the Whirlpool and they will be sending out the technician again (I think this guy can moved in with my family- he has been here so many times). Luckily I purchased extended warranty. Be prepared when you call the service centre to be put on hold - today I was on the phone with them for over 1 hour. I BOUGHT A LEMON!!! IF I KNEW THAT I WOULD HAVE SUCH A PROBLEM WITH KITCHENAID I WOULD HAVE NEVER PURCHASED IT. How many times will it take to fix this lemon! Obviously there is something wrong with this unit.

The last one needed a new control board - no longer made. So the machine is obsolete by company failure to provide necessary parts over a longer period of time. Wont touch this product again. Trying to contact the manufacturer a big run around. Customer service is about as bad as it gets. Bought a new Sub-Zero. Today, I was baking chicken, first at a slightly higher temperature than at 350 F. When I took the chicken out, we noticed a small piece of glass the size of a dime on the inside and a crack running from top to bottom. I have read the numerous other posts regarding exploding glass and I seem to have gotten off lucky. However, now I am terrified to use the oven, especially at higher temperatures. I have a kitchen full of KitchenAid appliances. My experience with KitchenAid service has been nothing short of a nightmare. Four years ago, the ice maker in the fridge malfunctioned in the middle of the night and continued to dispense water all night long until it had flooded my kitchen, dining room and basement below, ruining a portion of our hardwood flooring. KitchenAid took no responsibility even though the fridge was only about four years old. We also had continuous problems with our dishwasher not staying closed during the wash cycle. After numerous service calls, we finally discovered there was a recall to replace the latch. The big question now is what is KitchenAid waiting for? The potential danger of the exploding glass is extreme. There seems to be a high frequency of this occurring. Perhaps we can vocalize this on Facebook. There has to be power in numbers. KitchenAid can be certain that I will never buy another major appliance from them again.

I just came in the house after spending about an hour and a half mowing the lawn. To my surprise, the KitchenAid Microwave (Model KHMS155LSS-3 Oct 2005) was running by itself. I tried to turn it off using the buttons, but none of them worked. I ended up opening the door and unplugging the unit to get it to stop running. The inside of the microwave was absolutely smoking hot! Before unplugging it, the digital display was indicating PAN. I plugged the microwave back into the outlet, and PAN again appeared. Seconds later, the microwave started to run by itself again so I unplugged it again. I called Whirlpool (800/331-7456) and they said it was most likely a control board problem, and that they would be mailing a new one to my house. They also scheduled a service call which is a week and a half from today. Thank God I was at home or we might not have a home (and pets) to come back to. This unit should have been recalled! Do I really want this unit in my house even if it has been repaired?

Owned this dishwasher (KDTO104SS) for 8 months. It replaced a Bosch. Gradual decline in performance for last month. Did the hard restart, worked for one cycle. Requested warranty service, waited one week for repairman, he ordered new part, waited another week for him to return. He then said another part had to be ordered, refused to overnight as he is only paid once for warranty service and only came once a week to this city. Then he indicated that the control unit was shorted as insects had gotten inside. We have professional pest control and have never seen those insects. They were, in fact, inside the controller. This must be a design flaw, as there isnt a place in the country where some insects do not reside. We have previously dishwasher for more than a decade with no problem. The manufacturer indicated there is no recourse. We bought this as it was made in this country and had good performance. The seller is working with us to get another appliance, but we will NEVER buy a KitchenAid again.

The oven sensors dont work properly, and when using double oven, unit shuts down and lower door locks. It seems like many others on this site have had the same problem. It sounds like a class action suit to me as it also appears Kitchenaid does nothing to make it right. When you pay over $2,000 for an oven, you expect a solid 10 to 15 years of use. That is not what is happening. My choices are to pay another $2,000 to $3,000 for a new oven or $500 to $800 for repairs every 4 to 5 years or so. Its not good either way.

KitchenAid refused to fix it, then after the warranty, it started to melt items that were extremely heat resistant and would not move through the cycles. We called a repairman and paid him to have the board replaced. It didnt make a difference. Upon further investigation, we realized that the fire in the dishwasher had damaged the heat element and the plastics around it. We thought that the circuit board might have been the cause so we moved on replacing the element and associated parts around it.It worked better for a little time, now its looking like its back to trouble again. KitchenAid dishwashers control panel will turn on or off at unspecified times. It starts up at the slightest accidental brush of the panel and sometimes turns itself off in the middle of washing/rinsing cycle. My old DW was a KitchenAid and very dependable but has finally deceased. I hate this one and have had it less than three months. It is worthless and a headache to use.

Kitchenaid kdrp767rss01 range/oven - Have had the third (expensive) problem
Kitchenaid kdrp767rss01 range/oven - Have had the third (expensive) problem with my KitchenAid combo gas range and electric oven within a year. There are three expensive control boards in the appliance (each $200+). As of today, all three have failed and been replaced over the last 12 months. KitchenAid doesnt seem to know that heat is the arch enemy of electronics and that when you put electronics in a high temperature appliance, you need to take special care to protect them. My next stove will be a wood-burner with no electronics. Maybe not, but it wont be a KitchenAid.

Purchased KitchenAid Architect Series II, 5 burner gas freestanding stove with double ovens. Within 5 weeks, the paint started bubbling, cracking and flakes were falling off, this was on the panel where the burner knobs are located. Called and repairman came out and looked at it and called in for instructions on what to do. We were told by him, numerous phone calls to kitchen aide and supervisor, Sorry, the stove is only covered for 30 days for cosmetic problems. Ok, I say, your paint is defective or application was not right. I cannot believe you would not fix this problem, when it is obviously defective. I have had appliances for many, many years and never had paint bubble and come off as this has, especially a brand new appliance. The stove looks horrible, the whole control panel is now gray steel and your company will not fix an obvious problem with your product. I will never and tell others not to buy KitchenAid because you do not stand behind your products that obviously has a problem. I can buy a new control panel for $100 and replace it, but after spending the amount of money that I did for your product, that is another slap in the face.

I bought a KitchenAid refrigerator on 5/30/11. The divider between the 2 crisper drawers has broken 3 times. It is now out of warranty but even if I had purchased an extended warranty, I was told that its purely cosmetic and would not be covered. I am unable to use my crisper drawers, but was told it is strictly a cosmetic issue! In 2011, I replaced my microwave, refrigerator and dishwasher with KitchenAid products. I will never purchase another KitchenAid product again. I would have even been willing to pay the difference in price to replace the refrigerator as obviously, this one is defective. But I could not get past Your problem is merely a cosmetic one.

As part of a complete KitchenAid appliance package purchase three years ago
As part of a complete KitchenAid appliance package purchase three years ago, we purchased a KitchenAid Fridge Model KRFF707ESS01. Rather than take the specced Frigidaire appliance group that was included with our new home purchase, we elected to spend the extra money believing KitchenAid was a superior product. During the past year, we have encountered some of the inner cabinet led lights not functioning and others flickering on and off. We have determined that it isn’t a simple fix such as a door switch, but rather defective led lights and or an led emitter control board. It appears this is a common problem, however KitchenAid is not acknowledging it as a manufacturer defect.I have read a number of online posts reporting the same issues. The reviewers report having replaced faulty led lights, only to have the same problem reoccur. In one case the reviewer stated they were advised that nothing could be done to remedy the problem. I strongly advise you to not buy a KitchenAid fridge with this led lighting design. Repairs are either extremely costly or impractical as the problem will only reoccur. A highly respected technician in our area has confirmed that this is a common problem with KitchenAid fridges. This is a manufacturer defect and needs to be dealt with accordingly.

After several experiences with our KitchenAid Dishwasher (Model KUDE60HXSS, purchased 4/17/12) including flooding, pump failure, control board failure etc. starting less than a year after purchase, I can only say that our voice has joined the chorus. I discovered this website and upon reading a recent entry seriously thought my husband had already gone on this website and written a review. There were many that were practically identical/very similar to our horrific experiences with our KitchenAid dishwasher and the accompanying atrocious customer service. At this very minute I am typing to the sound of 3 industrial size fans in my kitchen drying out my wood flooring and kitchen cabinetry for the third time in 2 years. My guesstimate for all this is in the realm of a year of college tuition (private, liberal arts) as we have now had 3 replacements of flooring, cabinetry, and plumbing. So I definitely hope my daughter is cramming in those college classes, because she is going to have to hurry up and graduate in 3 years as KitchenAid has burned up one year of her tuition!

We purchased a KitchenAid side by side refrigerator in 2007. It recently began having problems keeping the freezer temperature constant. A repair company came out and indicated that the problem was that we need a new main contact (part number W10219463) but KitchenAid (manufactured by Whirlpool) has discontinued the part. So, we are told we need a new refrigerator. Aside from the fact that it is environmentally irresponsible for refrigerators to have the shelf life of a disposable cell phone, thus resulting in landfills being filled with major appliances built to fail and be discarded rather than repaired, it is also outrageous for a company to discontinue parts in this way. I tried to contact the company using their website, but the system would not accept my message (the website seems to work as well as my refrigerator). I sat on hold on their corporate consumer line for 45 minutes but never got through to a person. I highly recommend that people avoid purchasing any refrigerator manufactured by Whirlpool (which manufactures KitchenAid, JennAir and Whirlpool refrigerators). It likely wont last and it wont be repairable.

Purchased KitchenAid dishwasher about two years ago thinking we were paying more to get a quality product. It has been instead inferior and troublesome. A long series of problems began from the start. Crooked footings that made it more challenging to install. Leaking door seal that needed to be replaced. Leaks from some undefined location that require we use and empty a drip pan. Plastic wheels breaking and not staying on track (dumping the full tray into the well) when sliding in full trays of dishes. Poor cleaning compared or prior cheapo washers. Flatware trays that wear out easily even while trying to be careful, and now to top it off, the unit has stopped rinsing the dishes entirely. What a huge waste of money!

Im on a mission to let everyone know how much KitchenAid sucks. They obviously have no quality control on their production. They have no ethics about making a quality product. About 8 years ago, we upgraded our kitchen and bought all new KitchenAid appliances. Since then, every appliance has had issues. Microwave (KHMS155LSS), weve had to replace the face plates (all of them) at least once because the cheap plastic latches broke. Dishwasher (KUDS01FLSS), the spring holding the door has broken twice so that the door flies open and bruises any body parts in the way. Hand mixer (Classic Plus 5), less than 1 year after purchasing, one of the beaters separated (has been fine since we replaced it though). Stand mixer (KSM9O), the cover over the motor doesnt stay close and easily pulls open if you touch it. Oven/Stove (Superba Range), the final straw, I was baking potatoes tonight and the oven shut off and locked shut with my potatoes inside. I cannot open the door. I tried all the things I saw on the internet and its still locked with my potatoes inside. Im going to replace it with a non-KitchenAid appliance ASAP!

In July of 2014, we bought a KitchenAid fridge with all the bells and whistles. French Door with the ice bin in the fridge door, electronic control of temp in wine drawer, 3 pull out trays in freezer and so on. We paid $3299.99 and it was by far the worst purchase I have ever made. 2 weeks after it was delivered I awoke to my kitchen floor covered in water. The water was dripping out of the LED lights in the fridge. I called to have a tech come out and they came 3 days later and changed 2 parts then said it would be fine. 3 hours later, it started leaking water again. I called and another tech came out 5 days later and did some adjustments then left. The next day, I woke to more water on the floor. Tech came again 6 days later changed a few parts. 6 hours later, water all over the floor. It took 7 technicians to finally fix the problem. I thought it must have just been a freak thing and surely everything will be fine now. 3 months later, my fridge wasnt staying cold. All the milk products were spoiled and I had just went shopping the day before. I called to have it serviced. Took 9 days for a tech to come out and they changed the seal. The following day still not cold. I called again waited 5 days for a tech and they changed the computer. All fixed again. 4 months later my freezer quit working. Again, it took 2 calls and 2 weeks to get it fixed.Well, I am on the last straw, my freezer quit working again yesterday. I called for a tech and I have to wait till next Thursday (8 days) for someone to show up. I told them I dont even want the fridge anymore, it is unreliable. They told me that if it had 4 or more problems in a 12 month period they would replace it but since they have been spread out over the past 20 months they will not. So here we go again.I thought KitchenAid was a great name brand. They make great mixers and other small appliances I cant go wrong. WRONG!!! They know what they are doing with small appliances but their large appliances are cheaply made and use the cheapest parts that always seem to fail. Stay clear of their refrigerators. In less than 2 years I have had 11 technicians out and the 12th is coming next Thursday. I have had 8 parts replaced so far and have lost who knows how much money in food spoilage. If they really stood behind their product they would have by now replaced the fridge.

KitchenAid KUDS30IXBL - Horrible product, barely worked right from day one. Never cycles through properly. I would recommend buying another brand than Whirlpool corporation products. Use the internet to find other brands. Whirlpool now owns/manufactures Kenmore, Maytag, Magic Chef, KitchenAid, among others. They are ruining these once great brand names. Read reviews, dont put up with it, find alternatives (LG, Samsung, GE all are superior quality durability) until they do something about their horrible quality and poor customer service. NEVER AGAIN, Whirlpool corp. I will not buy your products. For $630 I paid for this dishwasher I would expect 10 years service. Why make stainless steel inside and racking when all the rest of the components are so cheap, shoddy, they function for less than 6 months under normal to light use?

We are not really very happy with KitchenAid. We bought all KitchenAid when we built. What a mistake. I really thought KitchenAid was a good brand. I noticed Sunday morning that my 3 month old KitchenAid refrigerator was not cooling properly in the freezer compartment. I waited until Monday to call Whirlpool to report this. They informed me someone would be out the next day to look at it. The serviceman replaced the thermistor and left. When I returned home from work the freezer was even warmer and the refrigerator was now moot cooling properly. I called Whirlpool again and they sent another serviceman Thursday. He said this thermistor is also faulty. He did not have one on hand some would have to order it and could possibly come back in a week.I called Whirlpool and explained that I am without a refrigerator/freezer and that I didnt think this was right. They stated this was the best they could do. I asked what if they dont fix it the next trip. She stated they would come back until it was fixed. I reminded them that I would still be without a refrigerator. They said they felt bad but they could do nothing else. I am frustrated and feel that Whirlpool likes to sell appliances but theyre not so good at fixing them and keeping the customer satisfied; probably my last whirlpool appliance. Beware, you may get a lemon and that Whirlpool is not customer-friendly. My loss.

I am completely surprised that after spending $2500.00 on a refrigerator, that functions well and initially looked great, am now, after less than a year into owning this refrigerator, now has rust spots all over the refrigerator doors. These rust spots initially started as pin-head size but now are growing larger and more numerous. After I was able to get hold of customer service who finally routed me to the correct person (after quite a bit of time on hold), I shared with this person what my issues were. He explained to me that this happens and that there was nothing he could do about it. I continually pushed him on this issue explaining that it made no sense for a top/high end brand to have issues like this. He eventually conceded and said that he would ship all three doors and that I should schedule a time with my local KitchenAid service techs. He then said that if this occurred again that he would not be sending a new set of doors and that, this was it, no more. When the service tech showed up he explained that this always happens with this refrigerator and to be prepared for it to happen again. This is ridiculous. I would be fine if this was a one time thing, but to told by not only the local service technician but the KitchenAid customer service rep. as well, that this is something that, just happens is absurd. In addition to this, it took 90 days for the doors to arrive and after they did, it was found that they sent in two left doors! I have now been informed that I will have to wait 60 days for the right door. The local service rep that KitchenAid directed me to, did a poor job of installing the doors that I did receive, they were not aligned, the gasket was stuffed into the door so that there was heat exchange from the outside causing an improper seal so that moisture began to collect along the seams. ALSO, the door that they did send had a torn (or cut) gasket. Again, this is ridiculous that such a high end brand would affiliate with poor field techs, and send damaged product. Im beside myself and at a loss.Id say, if you are thinking of purchasing this product, STEER CLEAR. Due to my experience with KitchenAids customer service and the my experience with this particular product, I will NOT be purchasing any product from KitchenAid, and will do my best to dissuade others from doing the same. Let me add that I am using the manufactures suggested cleaning product. The KitchenAid rep initially tried to suggest that the rust spots were due to me and improper care and cleaning.

Our KitchenAid (KEBC107KSS) oven was installed 6 years ago. We do not use it a lot. About 3 years ago, it stopped working after running the clean cycle. I installed a new thermostat (9759242), and it worked fine. I just ran the clean cycle again, and again the oven stopped heating up again. I will order either the same part or a new part (W10175596). I just found in the various blogs about this problem. This seems to be a major problem with KitchenAid and Whirlpool ovens. Even though I have an older model, people are still having the same problem with ovens purchased today. I cannot believe that they can get away with continuing to produce a defective product and have not been able to engineer a solution.

I bought a KitchenAid refrigerator Model: KSC24C8EY in March 2013. 13 months later the ice maker started to generate less and less ice. I called KitchenAid for support but they told me the warranty expired so I waited to see what would happen. In June 2015 my kitchen floor flooded with water from the refrigerator, forcing me to call KitchenAid again. They told me they could send someone to fix the problem but asked me to pay $319.00 first. Instead I called and hired a local technician for $75.00 who found out that one of the hoses connected to the ice maker was cracked and leaking. After he replaced the broken hose the ice maker began to function normally and the leaking problem stopped. I am upset that this new refrigerator gave me so many problems, from the leaking hose that consistently flooded the floor to the non-functioning ice maker. After only using it for two years I am very depressed and dissatisfied with the service provided by the machine and KitchenAid.

I replaced the defective control board W10219463 on my 10 year old Kitchen-Aid 42 built-in refrigerator KSSC42QMS01 with a new Service Kit W10818296 which included a new control panel which has 8 wired connectors coming out of a new metal box. To install just remove the connectors from the old control box and trash the metal enclosure and circuit board. Install the new control box and plug the new connectors into the old ones that came from the old circuit board. Each of the 8 connectors from the new control board and the 8 connectors that were removed from the old board are matching, just plug in the connectors as they fit no need to label first. The new control board has 2 circuit boards instead of one and it looks like the relays and capacitors which fail on the old boards are larger and more robust. I bought the service kit from Sears which took 3 days, and paid $350.00 which included a 2 year warranty. The replacement cost for this model is around $8,000 and I suspect it wont be the last part I purchase for this refrigerator.

04/06/2018 - Purchased french door refrigerator (KRFF507E). 09/30/2019 - First repair. Refer making noise and not cooling. Evap fan hitting ice buildup Tech replaced evap fan and thermistor assembly (took over an hour to remove ice build up). Tech also reprogrammed defrost cycle from auto-detect to every 8 hours.02/19/2020 - Second repair. Same problem as first repair except evap fan not destroyed. Contacted KitchenAid service basic response was too bad, so sad. I explained that the problem was a design flaw, not a faulty part problem but that fell on deaf ears. After a bit of debate service stated that replacement parts (from 2/2019) were under warranty. Service tech ended up replacing same parts and a control board. Again, over an hour to remove ice buildup. 08/08/2020 - Third repair scheduled for 8/17/2020. Sour milk, refrigerator temperature running about 57 degrees F. Ice buildup again, waiting for Tech to diagnose. Again KA Service response was too bad, so sad. Service authorized a $50 reimbursement card, which covers about half of technician service charge (not parts). The refrigerator was purchased to replacing an ancient (15 yr+) kitchenaid side-by-side refrigerator/freezer that is still keeping my beer cool and my deer meat frozen! Bought a Double Over, Dishwasher, and 42 Built In Refrigerator, all KitchenAid to match replacing 10+ year old GE Monogram appliances. Thought I did the research required to make the best educated purchase on the market, decided on these as our local dealer had the best deal on all three. After a week, the refrigerator began to frost over in the upper area of the freezer section, all other areas seemed to work as described with no issues. We contacted KitchenAid Warranty for help. They sent out a warranty repair service company and after three attempts with help from their KitchenAid Tech Support Center, they could not repair the problem! Our problems continues and during the final repair call the technician, stated that the Tech support people dont have a clue and that theyve never seen this problem before. We were told by KitchenAid Warranty Call Center that the warranty does not include replacement but is only good for repair service. We want the unit replaced, we didnt buy cheap. We bought what we thought was the best on the marker at the time based on what research we were able to do. The refrigerator cost $9K, overall we spent $12K for all three appliances and now realize this was a huge mistake. The local dealer, Pacific Sales has told us we would be getting a replacement unit soon, nothing yet but we have faith as they seemed to know how to handle bad products sold. We also asked to talk to a KitchenAid representative wanting to express our concerns to a human being. We were told by the Warranty KitchenAid call center that no one was available, that they were the only people we could talk to! This is the most frustrating event weve purchased as 10+ years ago we bought similar appliances from GE for a house we built in CO. We had no issues with what we purchased than compared to this experience. We now have a nightmare going on! If we did this current purchase all over again, we would have never bought KitchenAid, probably stick with GE or Sub Zero or for the money LG or Samsung! Why buy KitchenAid, they have no warranty with their built in products.

I had a KitchenAid dishwasher for 20 years and finally, I decided to replace it only because it was not dispensing the soap completely. I wish I had my old one back. The new model (KUDC10FXWH) I purchased in May 2011 and cost $940 including installation, warranty and tax is a big disappointment. So far, the repairman has been out 3 times. The last diagnosis was a control panel malfunction, which causes the dishwasher to shut itself off. It is almost useless to me because I have to run a cycle twice and/or a separate rinse to be sure the dishes are clean. Mostly, I have reverted to washing dishes by hand to save water and frustration. So far, I have not had to pay anything out of pocket due to the regular warranty. But thank goodness I got the extended warranty because I think I will need it. Buyer beware!

Ice would build up around the fan causing the loud noise. This time, the service technician replaced the control panel and another panel in the rear of the unit. The noise subsided, but two problems continue to exist. The unit periodically beeps (every five to ten minutes) and the refrigerator freezer compartment continues to not freeze ice cream.I called for extended service and was told they would NOT come out to fix the problem because it was already repaired. After an hour with their extended service rep, they agreed to find another service company but said I may have to pay for the repair. I have had KitchenAid products in all three of my homes in the past. The quality of their products has changed - unfortunately for the worse. When they refuse to stand by their extended service contract, then its time to find another company. After reading several reviews on this refrigerator, I found that I am not the only one who has had this problem. Do yourself a favor, when you look at a KitchenAid product in a store, just walk on by. Save yourself a lot of aggravation!!!

I remodeled the kitchen in 2007. Refrigerator, freezer, 2-drawer dishwasher and combo micro and oven all broke down in Nov. of 2012. I called service for all appliances to be fixed. Freezer was fixed w/ new motor (service man stated KitchenAid knew of the problem for many years w/ no recall). After 3 months and 2 servicemen from different companies, oven is still not fixed. The parts KitchenAid suggested to these servicemen did not work. KitchenAid again knew of a problem with both ovens and did not recall. After many months without any ovens, I called KitchenAid. I asked for suggestions. All I got from the customer service rep was silence .... and then a sorry. He told me that he could not help in anyway. I spent $3200 on these ovens that only worked for 5 years and I cannot get parts to fix them. I will never purchase a KitchenAid appliance again.

Kitchenaid Dishwasher Child Hazard Causes Damage To Cabinetry: I purchased
Kitchenaid Dishwasher Child Hazard Causes Damage To Cabinetry: I purchased new KitchenAid Proline KUDE40SPX3 to match our Wolf/Sub-Zero equipment. After several months, we noticed our cabinetry adjacent to the dishwasher was starting to warp and peel paint. We initially believed that the cabinetry was defective. Then one evening, our little 3-year-old screamed in horror from the kitchen. She had a burn on her face and said the dishwasher did it. We then noticed the steam coming from the side vent of the unit. The louvers are positioned so that the steam under pressure is directed downward. However, since the vent is adjacent to the kitchen cabinetry, the steam not only hits the cabinetry but is directed in front of the dishwasher. Most dishwashers have the vent at the top of front door lip, which directs the steam up and away from the front of the dishwasher. I notified KitchenAid Customer Service. Their first response was that the unit was 1 month out of warranty and they referred me back to Pacific Sales where I purchased an extended warranty. Pacific Sales extended warranty department stated that the defect was a manufacturer defect and not an electrical or mechanical defect and directed me back to KitchenAid. KitchenAid then agreed to send a service rep out and would cover any parts and/or labor to repair the defect, including any venting kit. They also said that the manual has a disclosure about the side venting; however, I pointed out there is no such disclosure and no special instructions with regards to steam being emitted out the side/front and being a potential hazard to children and surrounding cabinetry. KitchenAids factory repair rep came and observed the defect and notated such back to KitchenAid. Then, KitcheAaid took the position that it was not responsible since it was no longer within the 12-month warranty period.

Wish I had never purchased KitchenAid appliance. Beware. We have a double confection oven, induction cook top, dishwasher, microwave and fridge...all of them are junk. Oven door was broken right out of the box. Took about 1 month to get a new one and it doesnt work like they advertise that is for SURE. Dishwasher blew the hoses, ruined my kitchen floor and ceiling in the basement. Service man came and said oh yes we know that is a faulty clamp, fixed it and put a huge scrape in my hardwood floor. Fridge blew the hose to the ice maker, again my hardwood floor and ceiling in the basement service guy came out. Oh yes we have a fix for that...it is a faulty piece. Microwave just stopped working, service guy had no idea and wanted us to uninstall it so he could take it with him (it is an over the range hood microwave and weighs about 200 lbs) but he managed to get it working.Induction cook top blew up, smoke and all 1 year to the day of installation (but it wasnt covered because the appliances got delivered before they were installed) had to have a huge argument with customer service that the warranty was 2 years on major components. They said it was not a major component even though the cost of the new board was $800.00. They finally agreed to cover it. Was without a stove for several weeks. Then the dishwasher went again. My hardwood and basement ceiling all water damaged again. This time the water blew the board in the dishwasher. Over 1 month to get the parts just got it fixed 2 weeks ago. Then last week the Microwave stopped working again...still waiting for service. This was my dream kitchen that has turned into a nightmare. Every time I need service I need to take a day off work. I have replaced my ceiling tiles 3 times in the basement, my kitchen floor is warped and gouged and you know what they told me? That is not our problem take it up with your house insurance!

I purchased a KitchenAid dishwasher, model #KDPE234GPS0, in March of 2020. In November right before Thanksgiving, the pump and motor died. The service tech told me that this normally happens in about a year and a half. He was surprised it happened so soon. He told me to get an extended warranty because it will happen again. Its now January of 2021, still no dishwasher and KitchenAid said they dont know when parts will be available! I should have spent the extra money and bought the Miele like I had previously. DONT BUY THIS PIECE OF GARBAGE!!! STAY AWAY!! Oh yeah and 1 more thing.. This thing always has an awful odor to it.

The broiler element on my KitchenAid range (Model No. KGSS907) came on by itself and stayed on. I was in the living room, and the first I knew was the smell of burning. Not only did it come on, I couldnt turn it off, the control panel being non-functioning. To stop it, I had to pull the unit away from the wall and unplug it, nothing else worked. Now I am afraid to leave the range alone. This is a big problem since I travel a lot. I was recently away in Europe for a month. Can you imagine what could have happened if the stove came on during that month? Normal practice for any controls designer is to make sure that any failure goes to the off position, but that apparently that does not apply to KitchenAid. Does anyone know of a recall?

Service tech was useless and the problem that was fixed is broken yet again. They are now telling me I will be responsible for the diagnostic visit and depending on what is wrong, may have to pay to get it fixed. I have had technicians out more times than I can count. We have now had eleven service calls with the tech here up to three hours a call. The control panel has been replaced three times. The key board once. The sensor once. The temperature still goes from 325 degrees to 386 degrees after preheating two cycles. The bottom door hinges have been replaced twice with no change. Door still does not close properly resulting in bottom element not coming on. Whirlpool says this is all acceptable. For a supposed top of line stove, one should be able to bake without burning or undercooking. The manual says the oven temperatures are accurate. Not so!!

We purchased our home 11 years ago new, with several builders grade items, including a relatively cheap GE dishwasher. We got about 7 years of service out of it, and decided to upgrade to a quiet KitchenAid dishwasher we bought at Lowes. Within 2 years, the plastic pieces of the upper rack started to crack. When we called KitchenAid to get them replaced, they told us that a) they were now owned by Whirlpool; b) the rack and parts werent covered by a warranty. So they kindly offered to sell us the parts. We bought them, at about 1/4 of the cost of the entire dishwasher. Now its been two years, and those same parts have cracked again. The dishwasher wont even come on at this point. What a horrific experience. I always thought KitchenAid was a good brand. I will NEVER buy another KitchenAid, or Whirlpool appliance again. This was dishwasher model #KUDS30IXBL1.

Thinking Id go all out and buy my last and final refrigerator, I bought the fancy and expensive, and newest KitchenAid. Within four years I have spent over $600 on repairs (nothing covered by warranty). The first week of the Pandemic it again stopped working. I have thrown away over the last four years, THREE complete freezer contents with this refrigerator. The ice maker is positioned above the mother board, and drains onto it, and the repairman who finally came from the Factory said it was a major design flaw. This FIFTH repair was to cost nearly $1600 - and he said he didnt know if that would be all that was wrong. I have called and written my dealer and the parent company. I thankfully have an old KitchenAid in the back hallway, so have an inconvenient, but cold, refrigerator. Youd think when after only 4 years of wear by two people, and repairs requiring half the cost of the refrigerator, that KitchenAid would be more responsive to a long-time customer. I am so disgusted by this experience.

Then they tell me that the Lemon Law is not valid in NY. They also say that no matter how many times a part is replaced during a 120-day period it is considered one replacement. What??? I have been without an ice maker for months. It usually works for a week or so after each repair. In our conversion to stainless steel we decided on KitchenAid. We got a bundle deal and purchase three appliances from Lowes and, though I normally never do, I purchased the extended warranty. The microwave (MODEL # KCMS1655BSS) quit working within the first year, still under factory warranty. They brought a new one and out of the box, it did not work! They brought another one and it is still working. Shortly after the first year the oven (MODEL # KEBS179BSS00) was not able to consistently get over 400 degrees. After about 6 service calls and replacing two circuit boards and a temp sensor, it appears to be fixed. The problem is, anytime a part is needed to be replaced, it takes at least 2 service calls. The first one to troubleshoot the problem and say, you need a new (part), and then they order it and the second one to install the part. Jump forward a couple months and the refrigerator (MODEL # KFIS29PBMS00) stops making ice. This problem actually started while we were still dealing with the oven problems! I called in the fridge and before the tech even came out, I realized that it was a cooling problem as my ice cream turned to soup. I called Lowes extended warranty and let them know the problem was not the ice maker but a cooling problem. The tech still came out to troubleshoot the ice maker. I pointed out the problem was cooling, showing him the item in the freezer that were thawing. What does he do, order a new ice maker. After probably a dozen service calls and several replaced parts, I told them I wanted my money back. Reading the extended warranty from Lowes, it says that if the appliance is repaired three times for the same problem that they will buy it back from you. They cut me a check for my purchase price and I went to Home Depot and bought a new Fridge, GE this time. I was very unhappy with KitchenAid and very unhappy with Lowes service techs. I was an electronics tech in the Air Force and I was doing better at troubleshooting this problem than these people were. They were so clueless. Warning, KitchenAid and Whirlpool are the same thing! I will say that the extended warranty served it purpose and we did not have to spend a dime on any of these service calls, that is good. But for the three appliances there were probably 23 service calls in less than 2 years! Those are all days that I have to be home between 8 and 1 or 1 and 5. I always pick the earlier time slot. The vast majority of the time I would get a call around 12:50 letting me know they were on the way. They usually showed up well after 1:00, closer to 2:00, not leaving until 3 or later. My day is shot at that point. Thats 23 days of my life I sat in my house waiting for a service technician in just 2 years.

I bought a KitchenAid dishwasher May 2013. HORRIBLE. Within weeks, problems showed up. Wine glasses exploded in top rack, their shards damaging the engine. Food sticks and dries on dishes, requiring hand washing of ALL items first. Plastic mixing bowls melt in top rack. And that top rack, so flimsy, falls off its track at will. When I complained to KA, they said it was my tough luck and, because they dont replace their faulty products, that I should shell out more money for extended service. I did that. And wow, what a nightmare thats become! Horrible and rude technicians come out, late and almost always accusatory: dont use right detergent, dont use right amount of detergent. Today, the guy summarized, Youre having trouble because you dont know how to use a dishwasher. Time to cut my losses and frustrations and look for a reliable appliance, NOT KITCHENAID.

I purchased a KitchenAid French door bottom freezer for a long awaited, much needed kitchen remodel. I thought I did my homework on price, reliability and quality. Obviously, I did not do a good job. The fridge was purchased and shipped in late September 2010 and sat in the garage with all of the other components of the kitchen that were ordered and delivered. I wanted everything here before the contractor started work. The fridge was one of the last things to be installed late December, early January 2011. In the beginning of Dec 2011, I noticed some white water spots in front of the fridge, just thought I had spilled some water and hadnt noticed. Came to find out too late, since the warranty is one year from purchase date, that a sheet of ice was forming in the bottom of the freezer compartment (someone else on this site mentioned the same thing) and then slowly melted at the edge of the freezer door and dripping on the new hardwood floors. After pulling the unit out found the floor board under the edge of the door was warped.I spoke to customer service. Their solution was to pay over $300 for a six month warranty since the unit was less than 18 months old, which I did not do. They then set up an appt for a service call through AE Factory Service with a price of $130(any repairs made would be over and above that) for them to come out which would take 2 weeks. After thinking about it, I decided that was a ridiculous price for a service call and decided to cancel it. I called a local appliance repair company and they could have come out that day if I had been home. Price was $35 and that will go toward any repairs that are done. Makes you wonder why the company that KitchenAid refers you to such an expensive repair company. Do they have any interest in that company? Repairman that is coming out tomorrow said he has this particular repair down to a science, obviously having done it numerous times before. After spending over $2,300 for a refrigerator, the last thing I expected was to be having problems in less than a year of use from a company that I had always considered to have quality product and service. But it certainly seems like KitchenAid has gone the way of too many American corporations, that the quality of their products and the consumer is the least of their concerns. I will be mentioning to my contractor, who is very sought after for kitchen remodels in our area, that if his clients are considering any KitchenAid products they should reconsider their choice. Also, to anyone that mentions to me that they are buying a new refrigerator, buyers beware! After reading these other reviews for over an hour I am amazed that a class action lawsuit hasnt been filed yet. When will companies get it that all the consumer wants is value for the dollar spent and good customer service?

I purchased a KitchenAid Refrigerator in 2013, stainless steel model #KFIS29BBMSOO. Ive had numerous problems with it, many service calls. The first was the hose in the freezer splitting, which took 5 service calls to figure out, costing me for each one. Finally they said it was a recall item and I should not have had to pay. It was difficult to get my money back from the service people, took months. Now there is ice building up behind the drawers in the refrigerator, blocking the vent. There is about 2 of ice built up so the drawers do not close completely. Everything in the drawers freezes. When I called repair people suggested by Whirlpool. As soon as they heard the model number they refused to come. I called Whirlpool again, they said they have never heard of any problems like this, however, when I read all of the reviews listed here there are a lot of problems with these refrigerators. The repair guys said KitchenAid is one of the worst brands now, made so poorly, but so expensive. They finally found me a repairman, he is about 5 hours away, I told them he is not close, they said he probably knows someone closer to me, however the call is from 8:00-5:00, I have to wait. This has been so frustrating. I purchased 7 appliances at the same time, I did a remodel on my kitchen. My dishwasher failed after one year, the motor actually fell on the floor, it slow leaked onto my wood floors doing $40,000. damage, cabinets had to be pulled out walls repaired, took 5 months. KitchenAid would do nothing. The motor was not installed right at the factory, they tried to blame it on the installers. Im fed up with KitchenAid, would never recommend it to anyone. I just cant believe they dont worry about their reputation.

Our KitchenAid dishwasher is about 5 years old. I just loved it for the first two years, and then it never seemed to clean the dishes. So I rinsed them before putting them in the dishwasher; then, it didnt even remove the soap. I washed them and then put them in the dishwasher to rinse them. About a month ago, it started to run on its own. It was just the top drawer. I could not shut it off. Now, both drawers will not stop running. I consider this a fire hazard, and this dishwasher should be recalled before someone dies in a fire. My husband is totally disabled and is scared to be in the house in case the thing catches fire. Presently, I cannot afford to replace it. So we have to put up with two drawers full of water, which is beginning to smell. I add a little bleach every day. Our Whirlpool dishwasher is designed with too small of a draincock, and it constantly blocks up. I am a repairman, and I am tired of coming home and fixing these ** things. I went over to Maytag and Sub-Zero, and have not regretted it. I now tell all of my customers and friends to not use these products as they will constantly be fixing them because they are designed to fail.

Stainless Steel KitchenAid Dishwasher Complaint - I bought this high-end dishwasher for $1,600 in 2006, and it has broken several times - replacing internal panel, internal control unit, and exterior touch pad within warranty period in which I had to pay for labor and miscellaneous parts. It now has another broken internal panel, internal control unit, which is out of warranty now. The GE authorized repairman said I have a lemon and it’s not worth fixing. GE has offered to pay for a few parts but not labor. Or, I need to buy a new one with a slight discount. I feel this is unreasonable since I have had major problems with this dishwasher lemon within warranty.
