LG washers & dryers steel drum cracked and flooded my utility room, den area kitchen and two hallways in our home. Resolution dept/LG Risk Management Dept. tactics are unethical. The drum/tub is only partially plastic not steel. LG told me I had to get my homeowners insurance to pay for floor damage. They are awful. I contacted a number of appliance retailers and told my story and their reply was, This is why we dont even carry LG. Their appliances are pretty but thats about all. Their appliance performance and dependability does not measure up in essence. Buyer beware with LG manufacturers!!
Do not buy any LG products. Worst customer service ever. Lowe’s is awesome but LG is horrible. Delivered oven with missing enamel inside oven. Claimed Lowe’s did it then me when LG discovered it was inside oven and Lowe’s delivered out of box. In the end after more than 14 hours of phone calls to LG when I was lied to, calls not returned and multiple hang ups by their associates, they texted me their rejection to replace. Lowe’s replaced at their cost. Lowe’s gear place but stay away from LG all products. Yes.
My refrigerator is 3 years old. Cooling system is not working, just disposed of about $400.00 worth of food. I called LG Customer service, they cannot get a technician to come and diagnose it for one week, then they order the part and come back to fix. The service person told me that LG is having a big issue with their refrigerator‘s cooling system, and have extended their warranty from 1 to 5 years. They are so backed up with service calls, they are fully booked. Do not buy an LG refrigerator!
I purchased an LG Dishwasher 1 1/2 ago. My selection was based on price, look and features. So far, I can honestly say that it has been the WORSE dishwasher I ever owned. It looks very nice with the hidden panel, however, the options on that panel are only there for decoration; it makes no difference what option you select. Some of the dishes come out dirty, especially utensils which are neatly placed in the top drawer and well spaced. There is no drying cycle; dishwasher is completely wet hours after the cycle has ended regardless of the option selected. The biggest problem is the smell; this dishwasher smells SO, SO bad all the time. I cleaned the filter at the bottom but it made no difference. Technically, this dishwasher should last me many years, however, due to the poor performance, I will have to replace soon with a new one and for sure, I will never purchase an LG product ever again.
I called the LG 1-800-243-0000 number and was told there would be a $75 service charge plus parts and labor. I purchased my Window A/C unit on 9/14/09. I cannot put my energy saver on mode as the unit freezes over, then I have to turn it off, all the water runs in the floor when it defrosted and I have to mop all the water up. When I called that number, your rep tech told me I needed to run the A/C on 82 degrees. Well if that is the case, no need for A/C as some nights it is 82 degrees here. He was very rude, told me I needed to clean my filter every week, and I clean it every three months. He also told me my unit did not have energy saver and I was standing in front of my A/C reading all the functions with all the controls on it. He had no clue what I was talking about. I will never buy another LG product as long as I live. It was the worst conversation I had ever had with a rep. He did not know what he was talking about. He was rude and disrespectful. I called on July 26, 2011, around 8 or 8:15 p.m. I am very dissatisfied and I will tell my friends that LG has the most unsatisfactory service that I have been exposed to! I will further seek and find a name brand that will stand behind their product, and have faith in their warranty.
I have been more than satisfied by the performance of this refrigerator brand, for almost 12 years now and its still working. Only this previous days when I notice that it stops performing what it intends to do. As I am an aircon technician myself, I immediately examine the unit and the only problem that I found is the PCB control needs to be replace. Thats all. The last time that I service other LG ref, I can easily bought those parts and, voila, its good as new. But now they change those policy. You cant buy the parts now. They keep on insisting that they will only do repairs, so I keep on wondering - how will they do some repairs for those minute parts of electronics in the PCB & keep the customer waiting for weeks? Are these the way they treat consumer after? So now Im considering to buy another ref. Perhaps as a consumer weve got to stick to the brand from the past for good after sales service even though the appliance is long overdue in service. Ive been with the LG service when its a GOLDSTAR brand name. Its their first brand name when they enter the market and they keep on saying that we need to satisfy & address the consumer needs & complaints for us to be known & admired by... so what now that this is one giant brand name???
After slightly less than 3 years my French Door Refrigerator suddenly could not get cold enough to safely refrigerate the food and safely keep foods frozen. The temperature in the refrigerator box hovered at about 40 and the freezer at around 32. The temperatures would not change even though I increased the coldness setting. A repairman from a reputable repair company and after testing and checking all of the different components he said the compressor was failing. He said that it was a common problem with the LG refrigerator. He said he had several compressor failures in them a year and that nearly all of them were less than 3 years old. The repair cost is more than it is worth. I am just going to buy a new brand. I also tried to contact LGs technicians to confirm the problem. They wanted $30 to discuss this with me since it was out of warranty.
I purchased an LG fridge from Home Depot and within 13 months, it blew out, no power. I called up LG and they told me that it was the motherboard. I fixed it myself twice, otherwise it would have cost me a few hundred dollars. Gas range looks great but the plastic chrome knobs are shriveling and are not smooth anymore, maybe from the heat from the oven. I think I only used the oven 10 times since I had it. LG is the worst. I wish I would have reviewed it better. My personal review is LG sucks. Never buy it again. I created an account just to write LG really sucks.
The refrigerator stopped working. The motor ran constantly to the point the back lower panel where it is located became overheated. Lost everything there was in the refrigerator and freezer. Have gone without one for over a week. Contacted LG who said they couldnt get someone out to look at it for about 2 weeks. LG said that the limited warranty for certain parts that was for 7 years after we received the unit would not be honored since we did not have a receipt. We never received a receipt since the Home Depot gave us a store credit. We had other things updated prior to getting the credit. The Home Depot put in new Silestone countertops. It took 3 times for them to come back and put the counter on properly. Silestone felt bad for us and told us to get any of their countertops, so we picked out a different color that happened to be their most expensive. Silestone also told us we could have any edging we wanted, no matter what the cost, so we updated our edging to one of the most expensive. Silestone had no problem with any of this. Then we had Home Depot replace on of our bathroom floors. The installer put the floor in just fine, but also broke our toilet and told us sorry and left. We had to go and buy a new toilet ourselves and install it. Home Depot finally paid for the replacement and labor of the new toilet. I called Home Depots corporate office who gave us a store credit of $1500. We used that money to buy the LG French Door refrigerator. Needless to say 4 years later it broke down. I called Home Depot for them to send us a copy of the store credit that was used for the refrigerator. They were not able to find it in the system since I did not know the exact date of purchase. No receipt or paperwork were given to us. Now the contractor for LG will not honor the 7-year limited warranty and we will have to pay for parts and labor to fix the unit. Prior to getting this LG unit, we had a side-by-side GE Profile fridge. It was about 8 years old when it started to give us minor problems, but it still worked. We got the LG fridge since we had this credit and wanted a French Door Fridge without the water and ice like the GE one had. We never expected this LG unit to have such serious problems at only 4 years old. Very disappointed with this issue. If the service call costs too much, this Fridge will be going and we will go with another manufacturer. LG will never be a company we do service with again. Home Depot will also never have our business again with all the problems we have had with the major updates to our house we purchased from them.
We purchased an LG washer. I love the fact that without the middle paddle you can wash large items like king size spreads and comforters and all the clothes actually are treated more gently. I do not like buying new if the old is still working. Being able to get parts and having really good people who can and will work to keep the old model going. Regular repairs is a nightmare. Been there and done that, days without your appliance and you have to wash most days to keep the family in clean clothes and towels etc. Also low quality construction, which usually means noise pollution and the appliance walking all over the floor or pulling loose from the connections and the room being flooded. This LG washer that I bought was the same price as for the Maytag that I had purchased 20 years before. It is high quality construction, stays where it is supposed to when it spins. Large size drum that washes very small loads with much less soap and water, or very large items like winter coats, king size bedding, comforters, etc. One thing I do not like is that everything rinses in cold water no matter which setting you use, and I like to be able to decide what temperature I want for the wash cycle and the temperature I want for the rinse. But all in all, that is the only thing I do not like about these computer controlled washers.
My family members all use this fridge. I dont have this firdge now, but its the firdge I grew up with and I have really only knew this brand and that makes me not to purchase other brands. I like its separations of different storage areas, my old LG fridge is affordable, small and compact. I like its temp setting system too. And it just overall packs a punch. But the new ones are really expensive and I am not buying any of those.
Last August, I purchased an LG 31 cubic foot side by side refrigerator. A couple of months ago, it started making a loud noise and did not seem to be keeping food as cold. I called LG and they promptly dispatched a repairman. He was wonderful... spent 5 hours in my house and told me he didnt think that it was fixed and would be back in a couple of weeks and to call if there was an issue. A few days later, it started making a different noise and everything in the freezer melted. He came back, looked at some things and said he thought it should be replaced and would start the process with LG and we unplugged it due to the noise. A few days later, LG told him to to come back and try something again. He did, and it started cooling again. So I restocked. Within a couple of days, it stopped cooling again. Repairman came out again, to run some more tests. So, here I am 5 weeks after the initial repairman visit, 4+ weeks after my refrigerator stopped working all together, and several calls to LG directly getting nothing but the runaround. FINALLY, someone called me back, told me they would be sending a replacement 7-10 business days after they send me a form to fill out and I send the form back. AND, they have the nerve to tell me that I am responsible for disposing of the old refrigerator. SERIOUSLY???? What a joke. This must be the worst customer service experience EVER.
Refrigerator ice maker went out in 3 months. LG could not repair it. Oven went out in 1st 12 months. Replaced 2 igniters, still experiencing problems. Lower oven trips circuit breaker. LG customer service is a joke. From what I read from other unhappy buyers, I guess Im not alone.
This morning I tried to clean the over. I started with the easy clean procedure. There were still stains left, so I used oven cleaner from Smart & Final. I followed the directions on the can, but everywhere I sprayed the oven cleaner besides the inside of the door has become stained. Its almost as if the paint has been eaten away. I also didnt realize the difference between easy clean and self cleaning. Big difference! It seems as if the blue paint isnt up to oven cleaning products.
We bought an LG microwave model LMV1683ST. It was manufactured in December 2012. The top of the microwave caught on fire near the light inside. This is very dangerous to say the least. We purchased the microwave at Home Depot. Avoid this model at all costs. It looks good but its also very loud.
November 2018 I purchased a LG large capacity washer and dryer. We have several LG appliances in our home so I thought it would be a really good appliance. This washing machine is one of my worst nightmares. Water doesnt cover clothes. I have to lug buckets of water, dump them in and it still doesnt cover clothes. I put in dirty smelling laundry and get dirty smelling laundry when its done. Change of season clothes that are packed away for the next season are the worst. I changed laundry detergent plus add crystals, all kinds of additives trying to get clean clothes. It doesnt even agitate strong enough to clean clothes. For an expensive investment, its awful. Id be better off going to a river and beating the clothes with a rock. The machine runs as its suppose to but it doesnt do the job. I have invested in a very expensive bucket and Im upset. I want a washing machine that does what it was advertised to do. Give me clean laundry.
I love my LG washing machine! It was a little cheaper than Samsung brand and it really fits the bill. It is very energy efficient and doesnt use a lot of power. I also enjoy how thorough and fast it is!
Weve had this LG refrigerator for the best part of 5 years and it is still going strong. There is minor rusting at the bottom part but that is probably our fault. The freezer also started to form ice which we do not like one bit but we consider it a minor thing. It has not broken down so were kind of happy with that. The light indicator became an issue back then as it was not working as it should have, but we made a minor tweak in the wiring so that its back up running good again. I wouldnt say we are particularly careful with our appliances but this fridge has managed to make it through up to this day which is very much fine. It looks like we did not make a mistake in choosing an LG product. I expect it to last another decade or so, which is how it should be with stuff like this. If it does, I will write an update on this review ten years from now and will give a 5-star rating.
I was remodeling my kitchen and bought a brand new range and an over the range microwave, delivered 12/2018, installed in Feb 2019 due to kitchen not being ready. When started using it I noticed some white spots or discoloration on the stainless steel front of the range. As the range worked fine I did not immediately call CS to see if anything can be done about this issue. Then the microwave stop working so I called CS and told them about both appliances and they scheduled a time to come out for the MW but told me they would be get back with me about the range which they never did after a week. When the guys came out to look at the MW I showed them the spots and they tried cleaning them as well. They said Id have to call back in as nothing was scheduled for the range just the MW. They even confirmed that the front face of the range could be replaced a simple fix. I called the next Monday to ask about this again and the first guy told me from what he could see, from a photo I had sent in the first time, it was nothing that can be done about it. So I ask why he thought that from looking at a photo, he said he would get me over to a supervisor. After being on hold for 20 minutes a guy got on the phone and told me that if I would have called as soon as I noticed the spots that they could have replaced it based on a defect but since I waited that there was nothing they could do about it. He said it might be a chemical reaction but I told him Ive only used what was recommended for me to use. I asked them if they could replace the front piece and he said no that because I waited that there was nothing they could do about it. Yes I waited until the MW stop working before I called because the range was working fine. I know that if CS wanted to help and replace one piece that they could have but they punished me for waiting, its not as if I was asking for a brand new range. Ive already have had a few people ask me what LG did about taking care of the range and now I can let them know and everyone know that they chose not to do anything because I was busy and didnt call right away. I will never buy LG again!!!
My fridge stopped cooling the night before Thanksgiving. It is still running and the light come on...but not cooling...food lost! I called our Home warranty. Technician to come out, he was there within 3 hours because they consider problems with a refrigerator and emergency. He said it is a compressor leak and there is no Freon left in the appliance. Due to this, he cannot fix so I needed to call LG because it should be under warranty.I called LG first thing in the morning on Friday after Thanksgiving, and they said that they would notify a repair tech to call us and schedule a time to fix the appliance if it was fixable. Monday still no word from them. I called LG back and they said none of the repair shops around me had accepted the order so they would move me to to an escalation group to get scheduled who would call me in 3-5 days...still I have no fridge. I did now get an email saying that they scheduled a consultation with a technician for next Friday...this is where they will come and see what is wrong with my fridge so they can order parts. I explained to them after waiting on hold for 25 minutes...I have notes from a technician that you can use to fix my fridge when they come. They will not do that. Once they order parts, those will take a week or longer to get to my house, then you have to reschedule the tech... This is ridiculous! I am going to be out a refrigerator for a MONTH! And this is an appliance I spent $2200 only 2.75 years ago. The customer service was no help and frankly not that empathetic to the fact that we are a large family and had no fridge over Thanksgiving, let alone now. Very disappointed! This is unacceptable!
Bought my LG refrigerator 5 years ago to the day and the freezer and fridge wont cool - at room temperature. Called customer service and they said someone could come out on the 18th which doesnt work because I have a fridge full of food. They said that they could provide me with a list of authorized LG repairmen and I could use them for warranty work. They confirmed that my fridge was under warranty when I provided the serial number. I was emailed a list and when I called the first company on the list they told me that need an email from LG authorizing the work. I called LG back and was told I had to provide the part numbers to generate the email - obviously I cant answer this question. I convinced them this was impossible and they said they couldnt help because I had no proof of purchase. I told them the previous person had said it was covered and they told me there was no record of my previous call (even though both times I called through the App and provided the serial number and model number). Not sure where to go next.
It was the highest rated fridge in my price range at the time. It was also the only floor model that fit my spacial needs as well as practicality. The sales person highly recommended it and I quickly found out why. I like the ice maker. It kept temperature well, and had an amazing seal. The inside door shelf designs were amazing. The air circulation inside the refrigerator was optimal, and the freezer froze things solid in more than adequate time. The color options were limited in my area, so I opted for the white one. When my kids got the fridge dirty, some of the paint came off upon washing it.
Purchase the washer and dryer about 3.5 years ago. The washer is leaking from the bottom, the tub and clothes stink, and the side of the dispenser is all corroded. All issues that everyone is having. This washer is a piece of junk. I am not even going to bother repairing it.
Do not buy an LG Refrigerator with a linear system. Im stuck with a fridge that is a year old and doesnt cool. Apparently this is a known issue and theres a class action lawsuit. Buy a different brand. I wish I had. Now Im living out of coolers until they get around a technician for me sometime next week.
Please do not buy any LG washers. I wish I read the reviews before I purchased mine in June. This machine doesnt rinse or spin properly and the loads are always wet and heavy. And this machine makes all the clothes smell horrible. I was told by LG that this was the customer error and the machine needs to be cleaned monthly. Ive never heard of such ridiculousness. A HUGE disappointment. I also never had to post a negative review for any purchase Ive made but especially after I spoke with a rep who was rude and utterly useless, I felt the need to post. Stay away.
Purchased from Karl's TV and appliance. Pricing, knowledgeable, professional and friendly. All appliances were delivered the following day and everything was hooked up properly. I was pleased to learn that I didn't receive the microwave that I purchased (out of stock) was replaced with an upgrade at no additional charge
I bought a new washer and dryer and not three months later my dryer went out. I call LG and the manager was rude and they refused to fix or replace. The store I purchased from paid to have fixed. I regret purchasing the washer and dryer. I will never purchase another LG product.
Soooo got back from deployment and this $2500 paperweight had tripped the circuit breaker! That issue started within about 2 years after purchase. Its now been 3 years. They put in a new compressor which obviously solved nothing and refuse to repair the issue. If a fridge cant run by simply plugging it in, its useless! So, I came home to the stinkiest refrigerator Ive ever encountered! They also have a settlement for which my model number is included, but keep responding to me that it isnt. You wouldnt have came and installed a brand new compressor if that were the case!
I purchased the Wave Force True Balance LG washer in March 2013. Thirteen months later it stopped working and needed a clutch and motor, a repair fiasco that took over three weeks. It has consistently displayed the uneven load sign, adding water and taking an eternity to finish while I stand there rebalancing the load. Today a 50 minute cycle took three hours. I have called LG many times with no resolution to the problem. This machine has big issues. I will never buy an LG product again, and next time this machine breaks, and it will, it goes out in the trash. LGs website and customer service department is sadly lacking.
We bought a beautiful looking top loading LG washer and dryer from Sears in Eureka, California in September 2011 for our second home in Humboldt County. We didnt purchase an extended warranty - although looking back, we should have done so. Because the appliances are installed in a second home (to this date, April 2013), they have been used about 12 times total.Suddenly, during a visit to this second home in mid-February, the dryer quit drying; there was no heat at all. We did the trouble-shooting with LG Customer Service to no avail. Then we contacted Sears to arrange for a repair. We returned to the home at the end of March, and the repairman came to the house. His analysis showed that the heating element needs to be replaced, which he had to order. As the repairman was leaving, he told us that he is about the only one in the area who will tackle fixing LG appliances because they are so poorly made. He mentioned that our washer is probably on a recall list. Sure enough, the washer - Serial Number (WT5001CW) is on the LG recall list. So now, I am attempting to make sure that the only repairman in the whole area who will touch LG appliances is prepared and scheduled to come to our second home when we can schedule ourselves to be there and can fix both appliances! It is hard to believe that these appliances are so poorly made, that they both are broken after having been used a handful of times! They look great but apparently are pieces of crap; and they cost a lot of money. What is the matter with these corporations and their quality control? Do these people really think I will ever buy another LG appliance again? And is it really worth the (certainly temporary) health of their bottom line to continue to sell these shoddy products? And what else do disgruntled customers do? They tell everyone they know about their negative experience with these products. Shame on LG!
I bought an LG double oven in February. As soon as I tried to preheat the oven, the oven filled my house up with gas. After many unsuccessful attempts to have LG have someone come out to fix the oven under its warranty, LG finally scheduled a company to come out to fix the oven. After the company attempted to fix the oven four times, the oven still leaks so much gas when I attempt to preheat the oven that I cant use it. Even though the service company has told LG that the oven is defective and they wont come attempt to repair it anymore, LG refuses to replace the oven or refund me for the cost of the oven. I have been without an oven for seven months and Im currently stuck with a $1,500 defective oven. Thanks LG!
We purchased our LG front loading washing machine in November of 2006. Within a few months, we also started having the clothes smelling badly, especially dark colored clothing. One week ago, the washer stopped spinning. We replaced the part. This week, the washer wont even turn on. I called the company for the second time. They chose to offer me a phone number of the closest repairperson (like I cant find that myself). I asked to file a complaint. As of today, I have had no one email or call me back. I emailed the company. Still, I heard nothing. These appliances are very expensive and should be lasting a lot longer than 5 years. The last washing machine we had was an inexpensive top loader that we purchased in 1983, and lasted until 2006. This is ridiculous! We also purchased an LG flat screen TV a couple of years ago. I had to replace a part in it already. Its definitely not a good life for anyone, but Lifes Good for the company!
I purchased a LG French door refrigerator at the end of 2016. The refrigerator was very noisy and the engine run nonstop. I assumed that it was because I went from a basic refrigerator to this super fancy fridge. Big mistake. The refrigerator started leaking. I called LG and they had an excuse after excuse. I called Home Depot where I purchased the fridge and they referred me back to LG. The fridge comes with a 10 year guarantee on the compressor. The compressor went out on May 2017 and I called LG again and again. They put me on hold for hours at a time. They promised to send someone to fix it. Here I am over 4 months later and no answer. I had to buy a new fridge. I paid almost $2000 for a piece of junk. Please do your research if you are thinking about buying LG products. The quality of the products stink. I hope to join a class action suit and get my money back one day. Thank you.
We purchased a washer/dryer (DLE5955W) combo in 2009 for approximately $700 apiece. After just 3 years, the dryer stopped working appropriately - the drum would not stop turning and now it wont turn at all. After multiple calls, my wife and I turned to the internet and chat room help. I have friends who have $300 off brand dryers that have been working for 20 years and our $700 Life is Good unit lasted 3 years - what a joke! I am absolutely shocked at the massive number of problems that these units have and they refuse to do anything about it. I cannot fathom why LG allows these types of challenges to continue. Oh wait - yes I do - we, as consumers, continue to buy their products so they keep making them this way. I wish LG would have honor and integrity in their business and fix the circuit board and dryer drum challenges that millions of people are having.
After several months of intermittent stopping and then working, and several visits by various repair people, Sears finally eliminated the problem by replacing the electronic board (at a cost of $35 plus labor). The washer has been working perfectly for 6 months. I wished that someone could have told me this when I was experiencing the problem.
I had this washer for about a year and half when it completely started rusting out. After 4 years it looked horrible and leaked at best. Dryer was fine and washer motor ok. When I contacted the company to at least get a new top they just blamed me. Apparently they have no idea how I take of things and my dryer is in immaculate condition. I have a new Maytag. Just saying.
My parents LG dryer had a gas leak from the dryers faulty valve that almost killed my family. The house smelled of gas. This is very common with the LG dryers according the repairman. LG acknowledged that this has been an issue with many other models but not the DLG2302R, so they wont fix it.
There are multiple accounts on this forum of electrical arcing of the wiring to the warming drawer of various LG range models manufactured around 2007, however I cannot get any resolution through web searches and LGs customer service is non-responsive to my issue. Our range (LG model LSC5622BW) arched out inside the warming drawer cabinet at the electrical connectors to the warming element and burnt the adjacent drawer itself, and didnt trip the circuit breaker. The warming drawer was off at the time and we have never used it/turned it on so it seems rather unsafe that it would be energized to the element and be capable of arching? This was one of the same series of LG electric ranges that had the stove top element controls recall issue, for which we had the motherboard replaced a few years ago. These are not cheap appliances and brings into question the compliance with the applicable electrical safety codes. Anyone know if there is any means of recourse for safety issues with an appliance that are out of warranty?
The LG refrigerator we bought with the last apartment we rented. It was a great surprise however it did not last for very long after we moved. LG is a great product and typically very dependable. I liked having an ice machine. Filtered water options and lots of space. I did like the amount of storage space that it had and how it didnt ever freeze my refrigerated items. But I would like a better warranty. I dont like that it gave out on me so fast and that I could not fix the issue. I would improve the customer service that comes with this item.
Besides being attractive, this refrigerator is the adequate size and the two fresh zone drawers are large enough and extremely handy to keep the fruits and vegetables. The outside is easy to clean and does not show fingerprints, which I appreciate very much!
My 80 yr old parents bought an LG high end fridge 2 1/2yrs ago with an extended 5yr warranty. Nothing but problems. First was a seal (I believe) than it became very noisy, so noisy my father could hear it without his hearing aids! Now the entire fridge/freezer won’t cool! Compressor was replaced with no improvement. Now they are completely without a fridge for 3 weeks!!! They were offered a temp fridge, but there is no room for one. 80 years old and no fridge - unacceptable!!!! This fridge is obviously a lemon - they just want a new fridge and no one will help them. Very disappointed in LG and Best Buy!!!!
My old washing machine gave out and I invested in what I thought was going to be a good washer. I decided to splurge a bit in order to get a good washer. I purchased from a 3rd party (JCPenney) so it took 4 weeks plus an additional 2 weeks because it was on back order. So for 6 weeks I was going to the laundromat. I took the day off work to be available for delivery. The delivery guys dropped it off, hooked it up and checked it and it was working. I did my first load of laundry and it would not complete a load. It gave me an error message. All day long I tried different ways around it and nothing. My husband changed the water hoses since it said it was the water pressure and nothing. We called LG that evening and basically was told because it was the water pressure in our home that they would not send a repairman. Our house is very new and our old washer worked fine water pressure wise. We told them to just take it back then and they agreed.Very long story short they would tell us they would take it back and or send a repairman and nothing would happen. We would call back and same promises and nothing. JCPenney has called them various times to have them send someone to repair and they refuse. Now its 2 weeks out and we, JCPenney and even the delivery people have called various times to get it repaired or returned and they refuse. Its insane were having to go through this kind of trouble when its brand new out of the box and we bought warranties on it. Im extremely disappointed in the way LG is handling this situation and I will never buy another LG appliance in my life nor will I recommend to anyone that they do either. They have lost a good customer because we are loyal to brands that are good to us. I wish they would just take this dang washer, refund us and we could just get a different brand. Never again will I make the mistake of buying LG.
The washer was repaired and now is working without incident. A1TV Repair did a fantastic job and LG made a concerted effort to get this resolved. Thank you!V/rCharles
We bought a very expensive LG washer - dryer for our second home in London. Worked well even though perhaps only used 20 hours a year!!! Now after 7 years it did not dry anymore. We called out for servicing AND LG direct, paid 80 GBP to the servicing company only to receive the message, that spare parts are no longer available. LG answered, We would, sorry to say, throw the machine away and buy a new one. Result: Never LG again, throwing a complete nearly new machine away, is this green policy???
After only 5 years the compressor on my LG French door refrigerator has failed (LFC25776). Although the cost of a replacement compressor is covered under warranty we will have to pay for the labor and the service technician informed us that the replacement compressor will only be covered for 90 days. We have lost all the food in the refrigerator. We just purchased another 100 pounds of ice for the cooler. I had designed my kitchen around this new refrigerator and purchased all new LG appliances. After reading the complaints about LG I have decided to buy a new refrigerator NOT A LG. I hope an LG representative reads these complaints and reaches out to consumers -- the product looks great -- unfortunately does not last.
My washer quit before completing its cycle. When I opened it to unload my laundry, it was still full of water. I closed the door and pressed the rinse/spin button. But it stopped again before completion, and the same thing again. This time I couldnt even open the door. Nothing seemed to work. Finally, after pushing buttons, it went completely through the rinse/spin cycle. I dont want to call La Mesa Appliance who is a factory approved service for LG, because I called them some months ago when the softener cup held water after the washer had completed its cycle. The repairman said this was normal, but it hadnt done this before, so I dont believe that. Meanwhile, I pull the drawer out and empty it after each wash. Im unsure whom to call for repairs.
Unhappy at first, there wasnt sufficient water filling the machine. The result was that the clothes had a musty smell, they were simply not clean. The solution was quite simple; however, it may not be found in their user book. Beneath the top of the washer, there is an upright screw mounted on top of one of the sensors. There is only one screw that may be turned, hence, you cannot go wrong on this. Take a Phillips head screwdriver and turn the screw 1/2 turn clockwise. This tells the water sensor to allow in more water. Caution: Do not turn it a full turn or you will have too much water. Now Im happy. There is ample water in the machine and the clothes come out refreshingly clean. In this day, when everyone is going green, LG thought it prudent to just dampen your clothes and thereby save 3 gallons of water during each load. The result of going green, caused clothes to come out of the wash still soiled and smelly. Wash these a few times more and they smell even worse. LG should wise up. Important note: The top of the washer should not be pried off as it will bend the retaining metal. Pull the machine out, unscrew the holding screws in the back top of the lid. Then pull the lid back towards the rear about 1, the lid may then be lifted up. The LG front-loading washer works wonders with ample water. Adjust the water sensor and enjoy clean clothes.
We purchased the LG French door refrigerator LFXS29626 in December 2016. After approximately 18 months of use, this virtually new refrigerator, stopped cooling and required a replacement compressor at a cost of $850. The technician doing the repair said that he is seeing many other “new” LGs with same problem. I can’t tell you how dissatisfied we are with this product and I hope there is a recall/reimbursements for the cost of repair. This is wrong!
I loved that refrigerator, it kept everything cold as needed. It had very good storage space and sturdy shelves. Thank you, LG for the fantastic customer service, I was impressed. My refrigerator was delivered on time and in amazingly great shape for a very low price. The LG refrigerator was actually a pretty great refrigerator, I didnt like that it quit on me lol. Im thinking about buying another LG refrigerator. I loved my LG refrigerator. It worked better than I thought it would. Very easy to use. It was also very easy to keep clean and tidy.
I have only owned this LG for a few months but the drawers and side bins are chipping. I have several pieces that I will try to glue back on but now it is only a matter of time before I break a drawer. I wish I had realized this before I made such a major purchase. Please note: This a replacement LG as the freezer on the original failed within one month of purchase.
I bought LG refrigerator December 21st 2018. After having it for only 5 months, the water dispenser started spitting out water by itself. Contacted LG and they send a repairman try to fix it. 2 weeks later it started spitting out water again multiple times and multiple times cleaning the floor so none of us will slip and fall. My husband contacted LG again but they had him transferred from different customer service (which by the way customer service is overseas). I wish I had read this review prior to purchasing a new refrigerator then I would not have to go with the hassle and wasted my money. Will not purchase LG appliances ever again!!!
I liked the refrigerator. A lot of people recommended it to me to use because they use the same good brand. It reliable and something you can depend on. It keeps a sense of clean. Kept my food frozen. All my food and drinking items was fresh. Every time I put some in the refrigerator it was wasnt harmed. I love my ice maker and all the good features on it. I could recommend the refrigerator to anybody to try out and use. I bought it at a reasonable price and value. The refrigerator has met my expectations. Kids lunches and all are fresh and well kept for the next day. All of my food is safe and ready to cook each time. The refrigerator has been good and I love it. I would recommend it to family and friends or anybody looking for a good brand.
We purchased all brand new top of the line LG products 3 years ago. A few months ago the ice machine stopped working and I contacted LG support and they went thru all the steps and unable to fix but I lived with it as it was only an inconvenience. Based on the research I have done, LG was quite aware that within months of the ice maker going the fridge compressor would fail. They never mentioned this once. After losing hundreds of dollars of food, I reached out to LG which advised to have a repairman come. For $125 he came and as soon as he saw the make and model he advised LG has a known issue which they refuse to correct and have a class action lawsuit against them. He offered to repair but the part is @ $800 and to top it off they would put the same faulty part back in which will also inevitably fail. I found out after I did purchase a 10 year part warranty and LG set up a repair appointment with their contractor for a week later. The day before the appointment I received a reminder and a request to call the company, A & E, if parts were not already delivered. I was told the parts were not being delivered until the day after the repair appointment? Both LG and their contractor A&E customer service were unhelpful and kept blaming each other for the issue. I was promised numerous phone calls with no timely response or resolution. I took off of work to wait for a repairman who cant repair anything and are being told the next available appointment is in another 2 weeks? I have 3 children at home and no way to keep any food for them. I did not complain when the icemaker failed nor request compensation for the lost food because the appointment for repairs was scheduled. Now because of the lack of support and the incompetency of LG, I will be pursuing all the expenses including the several meals which needed to be purchased from restaurants. All LG needed to do was accept the fact they manufactured a poor product and resolve the issue and I would still be a supporter for the company. The deceit and unwillingness to fix their mistake is unacceptable. I am still waiting without a refrigerator and hoping the other LG products in my home, double oven, dishwasher, washer and dryer do not break.
Updated on 08/23/2019: Hi this is third review about the same issue I have been having for 6 months in that LG is not fixing the brand new refrigerator that only worked for two weeks. I have been trying for 6 months for someone to show up to fix it. They then sent me an email a month ago saying they would call me to arrange a time to replace it. They didnt call. Another technician was scheduled to come. This would be the 19th appointment I have had with them and none they have shown up to. I just received another text saying that my appointment is cancelled and LG are doing absolutely nothing to honor my warranty with them in rectifying the situation. I can not say enough to never buy anything from LG.Updated on 08/14/2019: 2nd time I am writing about useless LG. I bought a brand new refrigerator. It broke after two weeks of owning it. 6 months has passed. They use A&E Factory as technicians. A&E have cancelled on me 17 times leaving me to wait at home for them and then either not calling at all or they text 30 mins before the end time. LG contacted me after I wrote my first bad review saying they would replace it. This was a month ago and now they have disappeared. Do not buy LG, the product breaks; the company is dishonest, they do nothing to help, they lie and do not follow the warranty. I am still stuck with a broken fridge with no help whatsoever. I never write reviews. I am so upset and angry about this situation I had to write this so no one else goes through what I am right now. I am utterly stranded and at the mercy of the technicians never showing up and LG doing nothing to rectify the situation. Absolutely disgusting.Original Review: Your freezer broke within two weeks of me owning the refrigerator. I have been waiting 12 weeks for someone to come and fix it. Your service provider in my area has cancelled and not shown up to any of the appointments that have been set. I will never ever ever buy an LG product ever again and I am telling every single person I know and all those that follow me on social media, on Yelp and Google and all sites to share my advice of never buying any LG products. I am disgusted with your company and disgusted I have been offered no compensation for this situation.
The refrigerators stainless exterior always has fingerprints. Freezer section is one drawer slide out with 2 interior sections so have to open entire thing when need one item. Interior door partitions fine, but shelving difficult to hold taller items. However, I have some issues these days with LG quality. Front load washer defunct after only several years. Got rid of LG microwave (broken handle) & stove & replaced with Samsung.
Waited all day for repairman - and he cancelled and didnt get around to notifying me. All this to repair a 3-year-old fridge that has been nothing but problems. LG appliances and service suck! Buyer beware.
I bought the LG wp2060R which is suppose to be a 17 kg washload machine... as the largest LG I have bought, I thought it better for a larger wash load... but the spin dry section is where the problem is... you need to spend too much time balancing the clothes to get the spin dryer to operate properly. Its frustrating it happens with all those highspeed spin driers but the larger capacity machines are the worst. LG as a leading brand need to rectify this problem quickly to take some of the extended stress out of laundering. Its very frustrating. I have neighbours who bought the same model and are frustrated with the same problem. (Trying to be diplomatic even though I desire to use some adjectives to express my frustration with this problem.) We would like to just transfer the wash to the spin and just start without any time consuming adjustments. Thank you.
We got an LGLMX25964ST/02 refrigerator 7.5 years ago. Last week water started leaking from the ice dispenser door. Two days after that my wife called to say that all the food in the freezer part had defrosted. When I got home I pulled the fridge away from the wall and checked the fan and compressor, they seemed to be running fine. I called LG and I was told the fridge is out of warranty and diagnostic would be $185 plus parts and labor! I am still trying to figure out what to do, fix the 7 year old one or buy a new one, from what Ive been reading its not going to be an LG. I have a 26 year old Amana refrigerator at my rental still going strong.
We recently purchased an LG gas range. We paid more and got the higher-end model. Like other people have reviewed is very dangerous. You bump into the knobs and the gas leaks out you dont know it happens unless you smell it or you hear the clicking. LG needs to do something about this Dangerous gas oven.I turn the oven on with my pocketbook. I reach up into the microwave. The oven turns on. Its crazy. If you have little children around its very dangerous and you have to remove the knobs. That looks great. Not when you have spent close to $1,500 on the oven. Yesterday I baked cookies with the grandchildren and the cookies in the front were not as cooked as the ones in the back. Thats another problem. I added a photo with three of the knobs off, doesnt that look like **.
I like the way the ice maker is in the door and picks up no taste or odor and a two drawer freezer. It has a lot of storage in the drawers. Ice and water dispenser takes tall stainless cups. Tells you when filters need changing.
I absolutely loves the ice maker and how the freezer gets really cold. Also its very spacious and has lots of different compartments to put smaller things in. Compared to all the other name brands I had, I loved LG the most. I had it for almost 4 years now and it hasnt let me down yet.. I love all LG products. They last a very long time. As I said earlier they are very spacious and I love that because I can buy everything instead of going back and forth to the store..
Ive done everything that I could think of to get this dishwasher to clean my dishes. Ive tried every type of soap, vinegar, rinse aid, pretty much washing the dishes before putting them in the dishwasher and they come out dirtier than I put them in. This dishwasher hasnt worked correctly since I purchased it. I never had a lick of trouble with my Kenmore. Im so disgusted and wont purchase another LG.
I like the sleek style of my LG refrigerator as well as its door-in-the-door feature. I can push a little button and I can open the refrigerator up where my condiments are. I can also open the top half of the door. Thus far, Im pretty happy with my LG.
I agree with the majority of the people regarding LG fridge. I purchased an expensive counter depth fridge 5 years and 7 months ago and it completely broke down. Not the compressor but a leakage within the wall of the fridge so it cannot be repaired. I paid $125 to the LG technician to come and inspect to tell me that it cannot be repaired and that I should get a new fridge. The technician also let me know that the leakage was a manufacturing issue not wear and tear. I am aware of the LG settlement and was shy of 7 months to claim anything. LG refuses to do anything about it. So basically all their products are useless. I will never purchase another LG product and will make sure that everyone I know do the same. Worse service and company. They knew about the defects but did nothing. Where is the accountability???
Refrigerator: Model No. LFX31945ST 3-door LG Ice & Water Stainless Steel 28 Serial No. 207KRWZ0A593 purchased on 09/16/2012 from hhgregg 1321 Huguenot Rd. Midlothian, VA 23112. Contacted LG Service Department on 07-01-13 Ref: Ice Maker. 07-03-13 Service Technician came out and ran a diagnostic on unit, determined that compressor was bad and had to order one. 07-06-13 9:20 PM Contacted service center and was advised that technician was due on Monday 07-08-13 between 8:00 AM and 12 Noon to replace compressor. 07-09-14 Contacted service center about noise coming from back of refrigerator. Unknown date contacted service center concerning error codes “er rf” on display unit. Technician scheduled to come out on 10-01-14.10-01-14 Service technician arrived to check on noise and cooling issues. Coil and fan motor frozen with ice. As technician was removing inside grille to get to fan he broke the grille. He defrosted the ice from the fan motor and replaced the grille with one he had in his truck. Set temperature for refrigerator to +34 degrees and temperature for freezer to -1 degree. He wrote up the service ticked and charged $81.98 for the “Duct Assembly, Multi (item number: **)” that he broke plus the $120 for service call plus $4.34 tax on the replacement grille part. 10-06-14 Sent Fax to a ** in the Alabama location concerning telephone conversation in which he advised LG would reimburse me for the cost of the repair part plus the tax. Fax included cover sheet, two page service ticket and copy of purchase order from hhgregg.10-22-14 Called service center and after a 20 minute hold to verify my status, was advised that I should hear from Alabama around November 3rd. 07-10-15 Around 4:52 PM Eastern Time, called service center and advised them that freezer was not freezing (temperature was 62 degrees and rising) and that all food in freezer had spoiled. Furthermore, the refrigerator temperature was almost 70 degrees and food had spoiled. Additionally the unit was making a loud motor noise in the rear of the unit. After trying to explain the issue over and over again I requested to speak to a supervisor. I was placed on hold for 38 minutes and 26 seconds until I disconnected the call from my cell phone, but not before I had called the service center again from my house phone. It was only after I explained everything again that I was informed that the executive staff (supervisors) department closed at 5:00 PM and that I could not run the “Smart Diagnostic” over the telephone because all of the service technicians in their department had also gone at 5:00 PM, that I would have to call back tomorrow on 7-11-15. The service center advised me that the service warranty had expired and any service call would be $120.00 plus parts. This was mentioned on three different times during the call. I did manage to schedule an appointment for a technician to come to the house on Monday, 7-13-15 between 1:00 PM and 5:00 PM. Total time on the telephone service call was 58 minutes and 44 seconds.7-11-15 Called the service center again and had to explain everything that I explained twice the night before. After requesting to run the “Smart Diagnostic” I was placed on hold then performed the diagnostic. After a delay they informed me that the diagnostic did not come through and we had to do it again. Once that went through I asked what it showed and was told that they did not know, that someone from the technical staff had to review it. They told me that they could schedule a technician to come out to the house on Tuesday afternoon on 7-/14/15 but there would be a $120.00 service call charge plus the cost of any parts. I then asked to speak to a supervisor and they asked me what that was about. Finally after going back and forth with them I was placed on hold for about 12 minutes before a supervisor identified as ** came on the line. She asked what the problem was and then placed me on hold while she brought up my file on her computer. That took another 5 plus minutes. Finally after explaining everything to her about the previous night and current call she placed a one-time extended warranty on the unit and gave me an authorization number of: **. She advised that she could get a technician out on Tuesday afternoon 7/14/15 and when I told her that I had one already scheduled for 7/13/15 she confirmed it. This call was then terminated after 58 minutes and 11 seconds.7-13-15 Contacted by service technician at 3:12 PM who advised that he would be arriving in about 20 minutes. He asked what I thought was wrong with the unit and I replied that I thought that the compressor had gone bad. I explained the temperature readings and the noise it was making. He stated that if it was in fact a bad compressor that he could not fix it today as he did not have one with him and would have to order one. He arrived at 3:38 PM, removed the lower back grill panel to access the compressor and noticed a lot of dust on the evaporator coils. I asked him if I was supposed to remove the rear access grille to try and clean the coils and he advised against it stating that it could damage the vanes on the coils. He went back out to his truck to get his gauges and checked the compressor which he determined was bad. He advised that he was fully booked for tomorrow, Tuesday, 7/14/15 but would press his schedule and plug me in on the end of the day. He departed at 4:04 PM advising that he would call when he was on his way out to replace the compressor. 7-14-15 Around 1:23 PM service technician ** called to advise he was on his way. Compressor delivered via FEDEX this afternoon and left at the garage door. Technician arrived at 1:30 PM, completed compressor swap and departed at 3:30 PM.06-04-16 Noticed that items inside the refrigerator were not as cold and normal that that on several occasions milk and dairy products were spoiling before the “Best if Used By” dates. The inside temperature of unit felt cool and not cold. Placed thermometer inside the refrigerator portion of the unit and began taking readings. Also noticed that freezer unit was not as cold as it should be also. Placed thermometer inside the freezer unit and began taking readings as well. Temperature settings on the panel are set the same as the technician left them on his last visit on 7/14/15. Refrigerator set to 34 degrees and freezer set to -1 degrees.06-05-16 At 9:00 AM took temperature readings. Refrigerator was showing 48 degrees on a dial-type thermometer and freezer showing 5 degrees on a digital thermometer. 06-05-16 At 3:00 PM took temperature readings. Refrigerator was showing 50 degrees on a dial-type digital thermometer and freezer showing 8 degrees on a digital thermometer. 06-05-16 At 9:30 PM took temperature readings. Refrigerator was showing 46 degrees on a dial-type dial-type digital thermometer and freezer showing 7 degrees on a digital thermometer. 06-06-16 At 10:00 AM took temperature readings. Refrigerator was showing 48 degrees on a dial-type digital thermometer and freezer showing 8 degrees on a digital thermometer.06-06-16 At 11:32 AM called LG toll free number (800-243-0000) received recording and sent link for self-diagnostic. Performed self-diagnostic as per link and advised to contact LG repair at (866-558-2559). Refrigerator was showing 50 degrees on a dial-type digital thermometer and freezer showing 6 degrees on a digital thermometer.06-06-16 At 12:10 PM called LG toll free number and automated system advised they would call back within the next two hours. At 12:15 PM was connected to a Customer Service Rep in the Philippines. I requested several times to be connected to an American Customer Service Rep in the United States but was told three times that there were no US representative at their location. After my fourth attempt I was placed on hold. At 12:18 PM the Philippine rep came back on the line and advised that they did not have a US contact number. I requested to speak to a supervisor and when queried as to why I explained that I wanted to speak to a US rep and that her service center should have a number. She put me on hold again. At 12:21 PM she came back on the line to advise she will transfer me to a supervisor. At 12:27 transferred to ** in the Alabama office. After trying to explain my issues with her she placed me on hold several times explaining they are using new software programs and have glitches. She is trying to plug in the extended warranty on the unit. She returned on the line to advise that she had scheduled the technician ** to come out between 8:00 AM and 12:00 PM under Authorization Number **. She further advised that this authorization included the service call plus parts and labor. ** also provided a direct number to the Alabama Service Center at **. The telephone contact was terminated after 50 minutes and 47 seconds at 1:00 PM.06-07-16 At 11:15 AM received call from Service Tech who advised that he would be out within the next 15 – 30 minutes. He arrived at 11:35 and performed a refrigeration pressure check on the system. He stated that it appeared there is a leak at one of the coil joints where the copper joins the aluminum. He indicated that the High Side pressure dropped 30 psi with no movement on the Low Side and that indicates a leak somewhere in the system. He further stated that much drop could indicate only a ½ charge or less of coolant presently in the system. He explained that there was a company issue with ordering parts to have them overnighted to the customer. Lately the parts have been shipped to him which delays service. He stated that the parts he needs will be overnighted to me and should be here NLT 10:30 AM tomorrow, Wednesday, June 8th. He has scheduled an appointment for Thursday at 1:00 PM just to be safe and at present he only has one appointment for tomorrow. If I receive the parts tomorrow morning I am to give him a call and he will work me into his Wednesday schedule. He indicated that the job would take several hours to complete (Of note: He asked me if I was removing the rear access panel to blow out dust and vacuum the coil area. I told him that on 7-13-15 I asked him if I was supposed to remove the rear access grille to try and clean the coils and he advised against it stating that it could damage the vanes on the coils. He told me that he did not say that, that he highly recommends the customer remove the rear access grille and try to blow out the dust and debris, then vacuum the debris up, just being careful not to get near the vanes or coils.). After placing the order for the parts to be shipped/overnighted here he departed at 12:05PM.06-08-16 At unknown time, received call from Service Technician to advise that the FedEx tracking indicated that the parts he had ordered had arrived. I confirmed that and he indicated that he would be arriving sometime around 11:00 AM. He had ordered both a refrigerator coil and the freezer coil which had arrived and be commenced disassembling the inside of the refrigerator to swap out the refrigerator coil which he felt had a small leak on one of the connections. After steaming ice off of the end or the coil he replaced it with the new one. He then checked the pressurization on the lines and said that he was satisfied with the as it did not appear there were any leaks. After checking other things in the unit he packed up and departed advising that he would check back to see how the unit was performing.06-09-16 At 8:52 AM received a call from Service Technician, who was checking on the performance of the unit. I advised him that it did not appear to be cooling as he had predicted, that the freezer was in the teens and the refrigerator in the lower 40’s. He advised me to keep a check on it and he would schedule me for the first of the week. 06-12-16 At 3:14 PM received a call on answering machine from Service Technician who advised that he has me scheduled for Tuesday, 6-13-16 between 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM.06-13-16 At 2:07 PM received a call from Service Tech who advised he would be here within the next 10 - 15 minutes to check on the unit again. He arrived at approximately 2:25 PM and proceeded to first blow out the dust that had accumulated under the unit and on the coils which was minimal. He then began to test the system refrigerant and determined that it was not up to capacity. He then vacuumed the lines and added some additional Freon. He advised that it appeared that there was a little water in the line which he was able to purge. He indicated that the unit should work fine at this point with the cooling in the refrigerator set to 34 degrees and the freezer set to 0 degrees. I told him that I would continue to take temperature readings in both the refrigerator and freezer and if I noticed them not performing I would call him and let him know. After about 1 ½ hours of work he departed.06-14-16 At 8:53 AM received a call from Service Technician asking how the unit was performing. I texted him back at 11:39 AM advising that the refrigerator was at 37 degrees and the freezer was at 9 degrees. At 12:15 PM Service Technician called again to advise that he had mistakenly had a parts order sent to our house and wanted to know if was OK for him to come by and pick it up. I advised that it was not a problem. He asked about the refrigerator and I advised him that I would continue to monitor the temperatures several times during the day and evening for the next few days to see if the system performs as expected and would advise him of results. He advised that he will continue to check up on it and would be calling periodically. On 05-24-17 we returned home from an extended vacation to discover that the ice maker was not producing ice. Door was dispensing water but there was no ice in the door-side ice maker and therefore nothing to dispense. On 06-05-17 At 12:18 PM I contacted the Executive Offices in Alabama at ** to explain the issue I was having with the ice maker not working. The person I spoke with, whose name I failed to get, advised me that she would give me the number of the local service center to schedule an appointment for a technician to come out and diagnose the problem. There would be charges for the technician to come out, charges for the diagnostic, charges for parts and labor since the unit was past its one year warranty and had already been given a one- time courtesy and she was not going to issue another one. I was basically out of luck but could get it fixed through the technician with service call charges plus parts and labor. While the service technician was very personable and professional, that is the only thing good I can say about me experience with this company. The technician even told me on several occasions during his visits that the parts i.e. compressors, etc were inferior and the technicians were having all kinds of problems with them. With the experience that I have had in dealing with this company, I doubt that I will every purchase anything else with the LG label.
We have had the dishwasher 3-4 years, it has been working fine. Then I start smelling something and take of the panel. A wire had come loose and melted the side then started melting plugs. After I had taken everything apart I found that not only had a wire come loose but the left side of the washer was rusting. See pics. How in the world does this happen in such a short time with everything is suppose to be sealed. LG told they couldnt or wouldnt do anything because it was out of warranty. I guess if you get a couple of days out of warranty watch out your house, could burn down because for shoddy labor. Never buy an LG again.
I purchased an LG after reviewing them on Consumer Reports and other websites. I purchased mine from Lowes in June 2016 but it was not installed until August 2018 due to the delay of my home construction completion. So in service less than 1 year and no longer will cool or freeze as of 8-1-19. After a little research I discovered that the Linear Compressor failure is a COMMON problem with LG. NOTE LG at the time of my purchase had a 5 year warranty on this unit from the purchase date, I believe it is now a 10 year warranty. I called customer service on 8-2-19 to report problem. I was told I would be contacted by an authorized service center within 48 hours. NO CONTACT. ON 8-4-19 got a call from LG indicating I would be provided free service & repair for the cooling issue and would receive a call from an authorized service center with 48 hours (ANOTHER 48 hours with no frig/freezer). On 8-4 I received an email that my request had been sent to an authorized repair center. On 8-5 I received an email Service Appointment Cancellation Notification. I again called and advised I had never been contacted about a service appt. She put me on hold and came back and said I had a new service appt on 8-8 between 8-5 and the provider would call me 1 hour prior. On 8-6 I got another Cancellation Notice. It is now 8-12-19, still no frig/freezer or repair scheduled. I have documented everything and will pursue. I also discovered there is a class action against LG for this same problem. My request was escalated to Executive Services Project Team on 8-8-19 and I was told to call him (will not mention names yet) back on Saturday as he would be working from 9-6, if I had not received a response within 48 hours. He did send me an email with his name and unit but no direct phone number. On 8-10 I called and asked to speak to the person and was advised no one worked in that division on the weekend.Today 8-12 I called and asked for Executive Services and spoke to another man. He advised that a repair provider was sent a letter of authorization for a labor rate of $450 flat on 8-5-19. The man tried to call them with no answer. I advised it was too early here in Hawaii and he asked if I could call them. I have called them with no person answering, and left two messages. (Perhaps this was one of the cancelled appointments). I need to know IF AND WHEN my refrigerator will be repaired. I have guests coming in two days and will rent one if I have to but NEED a response from someone that has a clue about what steps will be taken. By the way, pretty no one here on the island of Hawaii will repair either LG or Samsung. Next time I will check with repair services before I buy an appliance.
So I bought an LG Top Loading Washing Machine, Model # WT1101CW in June of 2014. After about 6 weeks the washing machine started getting uneven loads, on small batches, normal-sized batches, even just a table cloth and placemats. This now happens about 60% of the loads, if not more often. It fills with TONS of WATER multiple times in an attempt to balance an already balanced load (I take several minutes now to load the washer to make sure its perfect) and has skyrocketed our water bill. High efficiency my rear end. I was in contact with LG and they said its normal. Normal to have a high efficiency washer raise my water bill by 300%? NO thanks. NEVER buying an LG Washer ever again. Can I please have an old-fashioned, non-energy star washer that just works and cleans and has no computer parts in it?
This product (LG WM5000HWA) has been shaking violently. I reported this issue and LG sent a technician out to look at it. He claimed that I was not using HE detergent. Lied! I purchased this from Costco and concierge tried to have LG come out again. Second technician came and did not do service. They saw the machine spins and machine shook violently with the correct amount of HE detergent used. They then called LG second tier support and when the machine shook the one that was suppose to see it said his video froze. They couldnt stay any longer due to their next appointment and told me that they would report this to. Lied! At this time I have been on the phone with Costco for 15 times and hours or more each time. Distressed and disgusted with the lies blaming the consumer for not using the wrong detergent and claimed they didnt see any shaking. LG then scheduled their in subcontractor to take a look for second opinion, took a day off. They didnt showed up or called for no showed. Costco called and had another subcontractor to come a look. This technician was ethical and did report that this machine shook but LG didnt do anything. 3 months now and they said their machine has no issue when this twin wash washing machine shook horrible. I had them on video that this shook and technician did see it but they refused to look at the videos I recorded! I will never buy any LG products and will discontinued my membership with Costco. This product is the latest line of product with only several months of use. Disappointed for them wasting my time and my money on on this purchase. Oh tech even told me I had to wan socks with socks separated. Pants with pants. Shirts with shirts. These idiots talk to you like you come from the Stone Age. Im in IT and work with software and hardwares. I hope these will eventually blowed up and eventually LG will lose 1 billion dollars due to defective product that they claimed the user is doing it!!! I hope this gets out and be careful on purchasing their products. Im still under warranty but they refused to come and serviced.
LG sold as Kenmore Elite Model 29002 - I bought a top-load washing machine in April 2012 and loved this machine. Then, I receive this “must do recall” on the washing machine, and I took care of this service on February 28th. Well, that was the biggest mistake of my life. I hate this washing machine. It takes hours to wash a load of wash. It continually gets unbalanced while trying to spin and then starts to add water and try again. This becomes continual and you never know when your wash is going to be done. The express wash of 35 minutes ended up to be 75 minutes yesterday. Tomorrow it could be another time, and the day after that, another time. If you are not having issues with your machine, skip the recall service. I am wasting my time, my clothes are getting worn out from continual washes at one time, and my electricity bill is going up. Plus, I have an expensive washing machine that is probably soon going to the dump because I know they are not going to give me my money back.
I bought an LG door in a door refrigerator February 2015. Within a few months the compressor broke. I called LG and they refused to fix it. After numerous calls and getting the credit card company involved, who rescinded my payment, they replaced the compressor. One month later, the compressor broke again. Mind you this is happening in the middle of summer. First they couldnt get the part then they couldnt get a technician. After a couple of months and $500.00 worth of lost food (which was never paid for), they replaced the compressor. Now, suddenly, the ice maker is not working. They are refusing to pay for it and it will cost me $371.00 to replace. I called LG Customer Service and there were lies galore... Like, We will check on this and call you in an hour, we will call you at the end of business, we will call you in 48 hours... All not true. This refrigerator is poor quality at a high price. It should have been removed and replaced with the first compressor breakdown. Additionally, I also bought an LG Washing Machine. All worked well until the washboard bolts that hold this piece at the bottom of the machine gave way and during a very fast spin, spun out of control, hit the washer cover, which opened and out flew the piece. They did fix this after a lot of screaming and yelling. I would not trust their products. There are many others on the market that are manufactured with quality in mind.
Extra cold crisper takes 15 min to get drinks cold. Everything stays fresh long. Insta view and door to door. You will be very happy with your selection of LG fridges. I would improve the fridge to a more standard size fridge for easy apartment removable, refrigerator is beautiful, elegant, and organized and you can enjoy a nice cold beer or soda after installation. It has a lot of electronic stuff on it that is very use. Refrigerator is worth the price. Its slick design and advanced features far exceeds any other product comparison. Im a LG signature customer full in keeping everything cold. Only owned an LG.
Well, Im thoroughly disappointed with my Tromm washer and dryer. The latest failure was the last straw. I have now officially paid more for repairs than I paid for the appliances, and they have been banished to the garage, and hopefully Ill find a buyer, but the word must be out about LG, because Ive had no takers. The washer never has cleaned well, and took forever to do that. The technician said to get a top-load domestic brand, so I went to Lowes and purchased the largest top loader with a spindle that GE makes.Im through with LG, and the repairman said Samsung is no better. So, I guess you could say Im through with Korean products. Thank you very much Korea. Isnt it hysterical that the pendulum has finally swung back towards American products being more reliable and well-built? The way it used to be when I was growing up. Heres the really ironic part. When I bought the Tromm, I sold a Kenmore Series 80 pair to a friend for $100.00. She is still using them and has never had to have a repair. I want them back! I guess the joke is on me, but you know what they say: Fool me once...
We purchased our fridge on May 2015. Costed us about $2300. Since then we’ve had to have it repaired 6 times! I guess that pretty much sums up our experience with LG refrigerators. Fortunately, we had the extended warranty with Home Depot which saved us a bunch out of pocket expenses. My family is surely staying away from LG’s fridges.
I have a 2-1/2 year old LG french door, bottom freezer refrigerator that I purchased from Sears for $3,000. While on vacation, the entire unit stopped cooling. Called Sears to service. Because it was a sealed system issue, LG covered parts but not labor. 4 visits, $480 later, and 4 WEEKS WITHOUT A WORKING REFRIGERATOR, the unit is still not working. The compressor was replaced, the evaporator was replaced, the dryer value was replaced, as well as 2 valve assemblies.I call LG and they tell me I need another repair company to look at it. I pay another $100 for them to tell me they think it needs another compressor which will cost me another $300 and there is no guarantee that will fix the problem. Unit still isnt cooling, freon is low, and you can hear the freon now gurgling loudly through the unit. I have called LG at least a dozen times. Lucky if you can get someone who speaks English that is understandable. My question to them was, will they deem it a lemon and offer me a buyout or replacement if compressor doesnt fix the problem. They cannot give me an answer. So now I paid $3,000 for this refrigerator, close to $600 already in labor charges trying to fix it and it still does not work and LG will continue to allow this nightmare to continue until God knows when. I am wheeling this piece of crap to the curb and cutting my losses which is EXACTLY what LG wants. You win LG! I will post on every social media account everywhere that I can until your company is out of business. We need a class-action lawsuit against LG as well. Any lawyer interested, please contact me. LG MAKES JUNK! THEIR WARRANTIES ARE JUNK! THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS JUNK! THEY DEFRAUD THEIR CUSTOMERS! I cannot stress it enough. Do not buy any LG products! Please!
Machine does not fully drain, allowing a smell to build up and be washed back into your clothes. Difficult to clean debris from drain holes in rubber seal. In the event that you need to drain the machine, there is no drain function. It needs to be manually drained from a tiny hose at the bottom of machine. And for us, that meant into a hose, through the garage and down the driveway. Look for a drain feature on my next purchase!
We had a french door Whirlpool, and within 3 months nothing but trouble, I nicknamed it Whirlajunk. After three years of continuous maintenance, we bit the bullet and bought another fridge. Went with LG and have not been dissatisfied at all.
I had the identical problem to someone else on here. We bought the LG French Door Refrigerator from Home Depot and the little hinge on the top of the door broke off and the door was constantly staying open. We just lived with it because we had previously had a problem with a new LG washing machine and nobody in the area would service it! I was told by a serviceman that LG didnt pay them for warranty work and although I dont know if that is true or not. I do know that I couldnt find a serviceman to fix the washing machine, which we eventually disposed of, even though it was less than a year old. Anyway, we moved from that house and happily left the beautiful LG refrigerator with the broken door hinge and lo and behold, the new house that we bought, had the same refrigerator and shortly after moving, the hinge on one door broke on that one too. LG definitely seems to have a quality problem with their appliances and I wouldnt buy one again.
Purchased in late 2011 as part of a range, fridge, microwave, dishwasher package deal from appliance warehouse. This is the third time Ive had to call for service and pay $60 charge each time on my homeowners warranty policy. The usual problem is burners that dont turn on and in the past, only a few would go out at a time, leaving me a workable burner or two. This time all are out and now the broiler is also down -- only the oven is working now. One service tech said the cables inside the panel were loose. How that happened, I don’t know because the range doesnt get jostled or moved around a lot. Another complaint within the first six months of purchase is an inside drip between the oven door double paned glass but Ive lived with ugly mess because the service tech couldnt fix it without taking the entire range to the shop for a week. But wait -- theres more LG product problems! The side-by-side door fridge problems have also cost me three service calls ($60 each). The icemaker frequently goes on strike for several months at a time and then on its own starts working again. Of course, this renders the ice dispenser constipated and totally useless. The cold water dispenser has the opposite problem and is often incontinent it keeps spewing water for several seconds after the drinking glass is removed.I believe LG must stand for Least Good and the range model number LRE30453ST must stand for Least Reliable Electric ** Stoves Terrible. I will never again purchase another LG appliance and recommend that other buyers also shop for another brand.
I purchase my old LG Microwave Oven Model MVI680ST at Home Depot 2 years ago. The door handle broke. The frame is falling apart in pieces. Have pictures and I immediately contacted LG Customer Support. A representative named Mike was very nice but hes just following orders from chief of command. He said I should contact a service place to have this fixed because its over a year old of purchase so no warranty. He gave me Ref# ** and case would be submitted to tech. Im completely unsatisfied after my experience and my neighbor too with her refrigerator she purchase within 9 months started giving her problems. Why would I buy another LG product? LG does not stand behind their warranty! DO NOT buy any LG product! They simply want your $ and they do not care about customer satisfaction!!! After this experience will go back to appliances GE, Whirlpool, Frigidaire.
I purchased all new LG LRG3093ST range on November 18, 2011 to match all the LG appliances I purchased. Within months the knobs started to crack and the cheap stainless foil laminate started to peel. I contacted LG and was told that they were aware of a problem with the knobs and there was a newer knob available that corrected the problem and they would ship them to me. Though I was skeptical of the information given to me I decided to accept their explanation and so a new set of knobs were shipped. Upon receiving the so called new knobs I closely compared them to the originals and found them to be exactly the same. Not a bit different. I kept the old knobs in use (using extreme caution) until the renovation of my kitchen was completed. Once the new kitchen was completed I exchanged the knobs with the new ones. Guess what? My wife use the oven today to bake and the new knobs started to peel and crack. The stove top and knobs are cleaned every day after use. They were fine yesterday! Its been just 45 days since I replaced them. They are true CRAP! It seems the oven builds up too much heat and that is when it happens. Not only that but there is also a burning smell when this occurs. Well, fortunately I purchased extended protection plans for every LG appliance I purchased from Home Depot. I will be on the phone with them bright and early tomorrow and see what they are going to do. At this point after reading all the complaints about the knob problem I will never ever purchase another LG appliance again nor will I recommend it to anyone either.
I appreciate my washer, however, it’s not completely reliable. For the most part, it is. It’s just sometimes it stops and stays filled with water. I have to unplug and plug it back in. Other than that, it works pretty good.
I purchased it (Model # WM2487H*M) 4 1/2 years ago. Mold, mildew, black gunk abound. Rim harbors dirty water, grime, and bacteria. This is definitely not what I expected from this over-hyped machine. Advertising wizards had me fooled. If there is a class action suit, recall or refund offered, count me in. I’m not looking for big bucks. I just want a reliable, sanitary clean washer.
I purchased an LG front load washer about 6 months ago from Sears. It began leaking from the bottom within 3 months of purchase. I called LG and after 5 hours of run around through their customer service. Customer service reps are all from India or Philippines. They have no idea what you are saying. They email you videos to watch on how to clean your machine. Finally after I lost my temper they set up an appointment for a tech to come out. We will see what happens. This leak is substantial and has caused major water damage and possibly mold to the walls and floor. Has destroyed the item stored within 6 feet of the washer. I would have called sooner but instead I thought the pipes in my walls or slab leak. After turning the water off to my home I discovered it was my brand new washing machine.
I purchased an LG French door refrigerator and an LG over the stove microwave a few years ago. I think 6 years ago. I had been very pleased until a year ago when the ice maker quit working and then shortly after the door handle on the microwave broke. Both parts can be purchased to repair, but seriously? They were not inexpensive appliances, yet they were not made to last longer than 5 years without having to buy replacement parts? Im sick and tired of stuff that doesnt last anymore. My mother used the same toaster for 50 years!!! Wheres the integrity and pride in a job well done? No, I wont purchase LG again.
Bought an LG washer under the Kenmore brand, which worked beautifully until the warranty expired. Now it repeatedly shuts off before rinse cycle and also shuts off on spin cycle. Planned obsolescence. Was the most expensive on the market at the time. Waste of money.
On 9-27-19 I went to Lowes and bought what I thought would be a good washing machine. Less then 4 months later I get a E-6 code, Clutch error... (Mechanical failure). It said to unplug the washer and call service. It took 7 days for serviceman to show up. The first thing he said was Oh, thats a typical problem and we need to order the part. 2 weeks later he shows up with the part and installs it. NOW...2 days later, what do I get? E-6 AGAIN!!! When it starts the spin cycle it starts growling. The machine is nothing but junk! It comes with a 10 year warranty and didnt last 4 months? I went to Lowes again this morning (1-20-20) and talked to the store manager and he said I had to have 3 service calls before LG will do anything about it. He claims he will look into it and will get back to me later today. Now its hell to have a brand new LG machine that 3 out of 4 months you cant use. I read the review from CR and thats the reason I bought it. Looks like the review was wrong! I learned my lesson on buying and LG product!
After less than a year the display panel on my LG french door refrigerator started to peel up. Called Best Buy whom I purchased it from, they transferred me to LG. This is where the epic disappointment comes in, I understand that things break even though it has been less than 1 year but there is no excuse for the complete lack of help that LG provided. They gave us the run-around, never called the service shop that was supposed to take care of my area, never gave us an RN number, then to top it off they cancelled the repair appointment that we finally got after a million phone calls because there were 2 different phone numbers on the request. They never notified us that they cancelled the appointment so my boyfriend missed a whole day of work waiting for the repair people (who conveniently then couldnt find any of our info). All it would have taken was a phone call to either numbers to straighten it out, btw they said having 2 numbers on the request was fine that they would call both but instead they called neither. I cant believe the level of disorganization and disregard from LG. I will never trust this brand ever again.
It is brand new so it works perfect. Loving it. This machine has all the bells, and this new technology is really awesome. I love the way I can dry using steam setting, or I can just dry towels. And sweaters are so easy to do with the rack, truly great machine. I also love the way it plays a tune when it is done with the load. Cute.
LG washer that doesnt work. They acknowledge it but doesnt want to fix. They are not shame of selling kaput.
Purchased a top of the line LG Refrigerator in combination with stove, dishwasher and microwave. Began having problems with refrigerator after 9 months. Tried to report using web site as instructed. Attempts went unanswered. Numerous attempts by phone and letter have resulted in no action with usually no response. Ice Maker unit is completely inoperable now and water has leaked into control panel with delamination of plastic cover. If you want a company that stands behind their product do not buy LG.
LG Front loading washer - I spent $1,200 to get my clothes to smell like mildew. I have no satisfaction getting through to LG online or Best Buy where we purchased it. As with other folks, we have to leave the door and detergent tray open so guess what, the whole house smells of mildew when you walk through the laundry room. I will probably junk this machine because my conscience, unlike those who run the LG Company, will not allow me to sell it to someone else. No stars is the rating for this useless, stinking washer. LG had better step up to the plate or cancel this product line.
I purchased a LG refrigerator and wasn’t aware of the known defects that come with it. One day it just stopped working. Being a licensed Electrician I decided to check it out. I immediately saw that the compressor had power, but wasn’t working. I dug up my purchase order, called LG and the warranty company. I did purchase the extended warranty when I purchased it. Now I find myself having to wait up to 4 weeks to finally get this repaired. They say they are sorry, but make little effort to move things along. They have known that there compressors are bad but don’t offer a recall on it. Tonight I’m going to go buy a new refrigerator (not LG) while I wait for them to repair the garbage they sold me. They expect a family of 6 to wait. I’m hoping for a class action lawsuit to happen so I can get some satisfaction from this. Save yourself, don’t waste your money. Buy a different brand and do your homework before you purchase. Disgraceful company!
I purchased an LG washer and matching dryer in April of 2014 from Best Buy. I was drawn to it because of the see through glass design. I thought they were cool looking. The salesman pitched it as a top of the line product, I fell for it :-( I cry every time I start to do laundry. My clothes NEVER come out clean. Some of it comes out of the washer dry! This is the worst purchase I have ever made. My old washer did a perfect job and I wish I hadnt purchased this crap. Im out $1600.00 for something I thought would be amazing. I spent a ton of money for dirty clothes. Best Buy came out to repair it, they said the motherboard needs to be replaced. After reading these reviews Im not hopeful at all. Dont fall for LG smart technology. This washer is crap!
Since the day I bought my LG fridge I have had issues, a leaky water dispenser and frost building up in my freezer so I can’t use it. LG has sent repair here at least 9 times and they refuse to replace the fridge. There is always an excuse. The freezer door has been replaced 3 times and repair just left and LG had them here to verify that the fridge needs replacing. Once again they refuse to do so and are ordering another freezer door. Customer service lies to you on the phone and you just keep going around in circles. I spent a lot of money on this fridge as a replacement after our house being hit by a tornado and I am appalled at the treatment we have received! Shame on you LG! If I could rate it a zero I would!
After considerable review, we (in hindsight, unfortunately) purchased a Suite of LG products last year (2019), the FRENCH DOOR LFXC22526S being the refrigerator leg of it. From the day we literally plugged it in, it has been, and continues to be, a disappointment. For a company with a footprint of LG, were appalled at both their lack of engineering and Customer Support. Our issue became noticeable day 1 when the appliance was not cooling properly. The first indicator was the milk, (which was stored on the refrigerator door rack to accommodate a gallon size, was WARM. My wife proceeded to purchase a thermostat to monitor the temperatures within the cavity of the unit. For the limited cubic space it has, the temperatures varied considerably. We proceeded to contact Customer Service, and for a unit right out of the box, we immediately encountered additional challenges. 1- Our first contact was with a Customer Service Representative in the Philippines who spoke Very broken (if any) English. (Follow up calls were just a bad.) For such global company you would expect them to have better matched resources to offer its customers. 2- To have a Technician visit the situation, they would potentially charge a $50 Service Call. (Again, the unit is not even a week old. That policy took some arm wrestling, but it led to being waived.) 3- Fast forward, a Technician did arrive at the house to physically and wirelessly confirm the settings. NO PROBLEM. At this juncture, my wife was getting a bit perturbed and stated a temperature measuring 40 degrees is not only a problem, its a health hazard. The Technicians solution was to recommend we rearrange the contents where items as mustard, pickles, salad dressings, butter.... should only be on the door racks. Items as milk, even though the door has a rack to accommodate a gallon container, should go on a shelf. (Its noteworthy to mention; weve stored milk on the refrigerator door for the last 40 years with no temperature problems!) When we proceeded to challenge that rationale, his final cure all was the straw that broke the camels back... we just havent adapted to it yet. Those remedies are very shallow for a unit that costs ~$2,000 with supposedly state of the art engineering. We cant fathom how a major entity as LG can be so deficient in some basic engineering features compounded further by their shallow offerings for customer satisfaction. We did not proceed with the Extended Warranty they offered primarily due to its cost. Layered on top of that, the manner they addressed the above circumstance further discouraged us as I have strong reason to believe we would likely get the same run with any service calls. That, and reading other reviews, causes me to proceed ahead with fingers crossed on both hands. For their sake, I hope LG reviews these posted complaints as they are legitimate issues they should take some ownership of. I (and others) will have serious second thoughts about purchasing ANY of their products with an LG name plate.
No matter what we do the dishes are always dirty. We have to completely pre-wash or half the silverware is unuseable. The thing is a piece of **. LG products are a joke. Every LG product we have bought has broken or worked poorly.
This morning, my wife started a load of clothes in my 2002 LG Trom front load dryer. I was in the backyard with the dogs. I noticed an electrical burning smell. I ran in the house to see if there was a fire! The dryer was smoking! I turned off the gas and unplugged it. I repair all types of equipment for a living. Upon disassembly, I found that the wires going to the safety temperature switch, on the top of the burner tube, had shorted out where they were rubbing on the gas line.
After 1-1/2 years my $4000 refrigerator broke, compressor! Thats not the worst part. There is not a technician in my area. I am a single parent and have been without a fridge for 3 weeks now being promised someone will call me. I have used all my money to feed my 3 kids because you can not buy groceries. We have been buying fast food. I had just spent $400 on groceries when it broke! No one at Lowes ever told me there was no one in my area that would be able to service this fridge! If it can not be serviced in this area why sell it in this area!!! I will never ever buy another LG product again! BUYERS BEWARE!!!
The washer keeps tripping GFI which indicates a current leakage problem, that is, a DESIGN PROBLEM. Local techs and LG keep writing this up as an electrical breaker tripping which is a problem of shorting out, or over-amping, not current leakage. GFI breakers are required by electrical code in areas where water is present. The local techs and LG want to solve this problem by removing the GFI, thus violating electrical code in order to make their product work. Current leakage design problems dont improve, they get worse over time, further endangering customer safety.
