This frig was bought Dec. 2006 for $1349. Several years ago, upon opening frig the plastic cover over the light bulbs had melted and fallen down. Terrible smell and it had turned light bulb black. Last night noticed that butter from butter compartment was as if it had been in microwave. Melted in my hand. The light bulb left on was across from butter compartment.Just realized that there has been a problem with lights not turning off when door closed. Also several years ago one vegetable drawer broke off and had to reorder part. Now also 2nd shelf is totally falling apart. Plastic is brittle. It is only 2 people in this household and this frig has not been abused in any way. I hope there is some compensation for this as I am just really irritated. From my reading LG knew about this problem in 2005 and 2006 and continued to sell this unit.

DANGEROUS MICROWAVE! Not even a year old and some interior paint chipped after approx. 6 mos. of this brand new LG Microwave. It caused sparking and smelled like something was burning. It more than likely could have caught fire if I didnt catch it right away by pressing Stop on the control panel. There was exposed metal inside around the door area where the paint chipped. I didnt return it cause I lost the receipt (I have bank info cause I paid with my Debit Card). I never purchase insurance cause I have been ripped off so much with that. I cant afford to buy another microwave so I put some appliance paint on the chipped area let it dry overnight. It did work, however a few months later it chipped and again MORE SPARKING in a different area. Repeated the process with the appliance paint and again it worked. Shouldnt have to worry about this. I dont walk away when using this microwave cause its DANGEROUS!I was also unhappy with this LG Microwave due to it being LOUD, HARD TO SEE CONTROL PANEL, COOKS VERY HOT (OVERCOOKS USING THE CONTROL PANELS TIMED COOKING & TEMP eg... Potatoes, Popcorn etc. I did read reviews prior to purchasing and some of the issues can be overcome, however not the FIRE HAZARD ISSUE! I was surprised to see 4-5 star reviews. I truly believe they are filtered cause I tried to place this review on LGs site and it was not posted? Consumers need to know Buyer Beware.

Our LG microwave went out within months. LG refuses to repair or replace (THATS WHAT WARRANTY PROMISES) - only offers ORIGNAL WHOLESALE price paid by our designer, no shipping, NOT WHAT IT WILL COST US TO REPLACE even though we explained multiple times that the price was not what came out of our pocket (because of designer add-on) and not what the model costs now with inflation. We custom cut and trimmed for that microwave. We will be out $100 plus to replace it.

LG will get sued when someone dies from a knob being turned on accidentally. I’m surprised it hasn’t already happened. It happens all the time. Especially when friends/family are over. How could LG think was a good design? Was there no testing? Were they 3 feet tall? Also the burner disc discolor and never clean up. The super burner stains on the silver and you can’t get it clean. Bought this and the microwave you can’t see into without a stool. And it’s still hard to see in. LG, you dropped the ball here, learn from those mistakes. NOT recommended.

LG Microwave Model # LMH2016St Serial # 212 AQP3 X244 purchased on 2/13/2013 from HHGregg costing $338.99 with installation costing $149.99 plus taxes at $16.95 has blown a fan and melted the cover on the fan. It seems to me that a microwave that cost that much should last longer than 2 and 1/2 years. I would not recommend an LG product from my experience. The company offers no help at all in regards to this problem.

Bought the microwave from Walmart in 2019, used it without issue for about a year. Last night, I put something in to warm for 1 minute. (No metals etc of course.) And no sooner had the minute started I turned away, heard a huge grinding whoosh noise, turned back to see fire coming from the right side panel. It made the sound again, another burst of flame and I shut it off. I had the unit unplugged and set outside. I contacted LG with a pic of a clear burn mark on the right panel, explained what happened and they told me too bad, nothing they can do, try returning it to store. ALSO, they further accused me of exploding something in the microwave itself. This was the suggestion of a supervisor. I am appalled and surprised at how they handle this situation. I would seriously reconsider buying anything from them. This could have ended up so much worse than $150 down the drain.

The micro is good. The front of the fan tray is broken because of the heat. It appears as steel but it is plastic. There is no way to fix it without buying a new unit. I called the homeowners insurance. The technician said that nothing can be done. This microwave costs $375 plus $135 for installation. Very disappointed.

We bought an LG microwave in April 2012. Today, March 23, 2013, it has stopped working and appears to have no power going to it. I called LG and was told that since it is a microwave, I will have to drive it to one of LGs repair facilities. The closest one is 40 minutes from my home and only open M-F, which means that I will have to miss work to take it and pick it back up. I will never buy another LG product.

Our LG microwave is a low performer compared to our last. It took much longer to heat foods through. The buzzer letting us know it was done was very quiet, but the microwave itself was very loud and annoying (rumbling, rattling and humming). The biggest set back is the touch panel, it is impossible to see the settings since there is no backlight. Unit seems to get very hot as well.

Our two month old LG Microwave Oven Model LCS1112ST bit the dust yesterday and I immediately contacted LG Customer Support. After jumping through all the hoops sending them a receipt, proof of damage, etc., I was expecting my $ back since it had a one year warranty. I received an e-mail saying in order to process my claim, I had to buy another LG microwave before they would consider any refund. Completely unsatisfied with this nonsense, I called and spoke to a gentleman that passed me on to supposedly the supervisor. She said that we were to send a letter explaining why we bought a GE microwave instead of an LG microwave along with additional documentation. Why would I buy another LG product? LG does not stand behind their warranty! DO NOT buy any LG product! They simply want your $ and they do not care about customer satisfaction!!!

Worst experience I have had as a consumer - ever. I ordered an LG microwave 1/3/18 through a third-party, AJ Madison. It was delayed weeks (not LGs fault), when I finally received it and plugged it in it had a code of death - F11. It never worked, not even ONE SECOND. That was middle of March. Its now May 3, 2018. I have sent in repeated receipts, responded to their letters, requests for more information, taken pictures, cut up serial numbers, signed declarations that I did in fact buy the microwave. Gotten the third party involved and had them try on my behalf to no avail! They now want me to send them a receipt having bought a second one of these before theyll send me my money back for the January 3, 2018 purchase! Im on hold again with LG, 26 minutes into it and the customer service wants to explain the process to me - youve got to be kidding me. LG, as a very American, cooperative consumer who has purchased 14 appliances in the last year and done lots of shopping - this is the WORST customer service experience I have ever had!

They said unplug it and plug it back in thru Facebook. I called their recommended service provider and they said it would be cheaper to just get a new one. I waited a couple of weeks, and still havent heard so we had to go buy a brand new microwave. DO NOT BUY LG. All they had to do was fix it or refund me. I purchased a whole house full of LG appliances in October of 2011 (Washer, Dryer, Dishwasher, Stove, Microwave/hood, and refrigerator). I have had many issues with the washer. The washer worked fine initially and gradually started having issues from unbalanced loads to not spinning enough and leaving the clothes soaked requiring extra spin cycles. I purchased this particular model for the load capacity. You would think it would be able to handle what it was made for. In August of 2013 LG sent out a recall for unbalanced load issue. An Authorized repair company came out and did the software update. Frankly the full of clothes and water with the lid locked from no power. They replaced the board (reluctantly) and we were operational until April of 2014 when the board blew again. Our first course of action was to call the authorized repair company back, but they would not talk to us over the phone and wanted to come out and charge us for a service call to service the machine as well as labor to replace the part, if in fact they felt they should warranty it. LG also no help at this point, the machine was out of warranty and not their problem. Since we knew what the problem was and were not fond of repair company anyway, we ordered the part ourselves online and put it in. This one lasted all the way to almost the end of September 2014, again blowing with the machine full of clothes. I have now purchased a new machine (not LG) and will be sending LG copies of all the paperwork, from original purchase all the way to current purchase. I doubt they will do anything for me, the machine is clearly a piece of junk sitting in my garage. Unfortunately, this is not the only one of their appliances I have had issues with. The microwave has had just about every part in it replaced in the span of a couple months, some of the parts multiple times. This was also a big hassle to get repaired. The LG tech fixed it the first 2 times and then it got pushed to yet another authorized repair company, for multiple visits changing out a part at a time. It would have been cheaper for them to just give me a new one. LG is now banned from my house. I will never purchase another one of their products, no matter what it is. I also recommend to everyone I know, to stay away from the Large Garbage. So far they have not stood by their products. I did not purchase an extended warranty, but I have never had issues like this with any appliance I have ever purchased and they have lasted well over 3 years. Not to mention these dealers want to charge at least 1/2 of the purchase price for these extended warranties, which is ridiculous.

I purchased an LG microwave (model no. LMA1180ST) from Best Buy on April 13th, 2011. In December the microwave started making a noise like a fog horn and smelled of burning wires. When I contacted LG they were anything but helpful. I was told to mail my original receipt to them and purchase a new LG microwave. I was to then send them the new receipt and produce an ISBN number from the box and at that point they would honor their warranty and send me my $89.99. This microwave could have started a fire in my home. LGs policy of making a consumer wait for the warranty to be honored approximately 3 months is unacceptable as well as it is unacceptable that their product did not last a year.

I bought an “LG Microwave Smart Inverter Magnetron” at Lowe’s, the higher priced larger microwave. After a few short months it completely stopped working while I was using it to heat up food. Only use is frozen meals, or heat food / drink about once a day. The longest period of use is 8 minutes. I contacted LG and they asked for a receipt before they would refund. I sent the receipt via email as they requested. After 6 weeks, they called and said I would need to go buy another LG and THEN they would reimburse me after I sent them a proof of purchase. I also had a LG refrigerator that only lasted 5 years. Terrible products. So I saw the Magnetron has a 10 year warranty so I called and they told me on the phone, it would cost me 125.00 right there for the service call and the technician would come out and replace the Magnetron and if it was over 30 min I would pay 35. Extra. When the guy came he looked at the microwave and said, It is the Magnetron and I ordered it but it did not come yet, and you owe me 35.00. I will be back in two weeks with the part.I am furious. I asked him what that 35.00 was for and why did he come out without the part and he said, I charge 160, so are suppose to pay me 35.00 no matter what. 1. Why did he come here without the part? 2. This is not what they told me on the phone. 3. I called them to complain and they said exactly the same thing to me and then when I asked for a manager, the CS person said, we have to review your call and you have to pay him for ordering the part, and then he said you have to pay him for extra time and then he said something else. When I pointed out all the various things he said, he said, We have to say these things. He refused to put me through to a manager. He said, We will call you tomorrow and review your call. Which is nuts since he said the exact same thing to me and the service guy said something different. Also the CS rep said, Well 70-80% of the time the service tech brings the Magnetron. So I pay extra time because I am in the 20%. Also NO ONE SAID I needed to pay another 35.00 when he came. They said, If he goes over 30 minutes. So, so wrong.

Updated on 08/10/2019: UPDATE 08/09/2019 update: For those of you keeping score this is repair attempt number five. We still do not have a working LG refrigerator. We purchased our LG refrigerator in August of 2017 for $3000, stop working on June 22, 2019. THIS UNIT IS NOT REPAIRABLE! This company can care less that we do not have a working refrigerator! This has put so much hardship on me and my family.POSTED 08/01/2019: I purchased an expensive (getting more costly but the day) LG refrigerator in August of 2017 that stopped working June 22. After four visits from the repair company (hired by LG because it is still under warranty) to fix, we DO NOT have a working LG refrigerator. The repair person flushed the tubing for hours on two occasions, and every replaceable part is now new. But the LG refrigerator still isnt cold. And I dont qualify for the lemon law? From just yesterday afternoon I am out another $100 worth of groceries that I bought 24 hours after the repair, to-date we have lo over $500 of food from spoiling. My daughters health has started to decline from eating canned microwave food. We have been very patient (see the timeline below). Now I am contacting a lawyer to understand my rights regarding the Lemon law. Find out about compensation for the decline in my daughters health due to the circumstances that LG has put us in. Lost wages (20 hours to-date) for having to take time off from work so a maintenance specialist can spend 3-4 hours trying to fix. At this point, I am convinced that there isnt a part in the world that can be replaced to make my LG refrigerator cold and working again. To conclude, LG has scheduled another repair (5th time for those of you keeping score). The earliest they can come is 8/9. They are going to try and flush the whole system for the 3rd time. If you have a story like this, please send me an email **.TIMELINE. Saturday 6/22/2019 - The LG refrigerator broke. After 1 year, 5 months of light use, microwave broke. Could be the Magnetron, which has a 10 year warranty, but the service call to see if it is the Magnetron costs almost as much as the microwave and if it isnt the Magnetron, well? Our microwave is 2 years old and has a “10 year “ warranty. It has just stopped working. First it would only turn on for a few seconds. Now it turns on and does not heat. The special Smart Sensor service was only available from 8 to 4 Mon to Friday. When I reached them they basically got me to plug and unplug the microwave and to heat a cup of water. Next, I was told that I would have to transport it to a service center and pay all labor costs. They cannot tell you the hourly rate. The service rep also noted that only some parts are covered. I said no thanks and that I would write this disappointing review. I do not recommend LG microwaves as my previous ones from other brands lasted more than a decade and this one 2 years.

LG French Door Refrigerator LFX31925ST - Lifes not Good - Lucky Goldstar. I
LG French Door Refrigerator LFX31925ST - Lifes not Good - Lucky Goldstar. I purchased an LG French Door Refrigerator LFX31925ST in Oct 2014. Immediately after it was delivered, the control board had to be replaced (under warranty). Shortly after the 1-year warranty expired, the unit started making a loud propeller-type noise and stopped cooling on a Friday afternoon. We had to cook the food that was thawing from freezer and throw out a lot of food from fridge. We had a bout of food poisoning from refrigerated food that apparently had spoiled, so we threw it all out. After 9 days without a refrigerator and living out of an ice chest, the unit was repaired. The one year warranty had expired however the 10-year warranty on the compressor was still valid. Only one issue, the 10-year warranty on the compressor covers the compressor part only, not the labor or coolant. So the compressor, which has a $130 cost per the tech, cost me over $250 in labor and coolant. Now, less than 90 days later, the fridge started sounding like a turboprop airplane that we cant even watch TV on the same floor. This is the same symptoms as before and after spending 30 min on the phone with LG customer service rep Carl, in the Philippines, who asked if I approved to accept charge up to $200 for service call. Are you kidding me?!? I have an appointment with service tech this week which will hopefully cover the repair under warranty. No more LG for me, ever. They are still Lucky Goldstar to me and still operate like the same company that manufactured Lucky Goldstar branded microwaves for Walmart not long ago. Anything but LG. Never again.

I like how its a touch screen. You just drag the bar with your finger. Its more effective than punching numbers. But, the microwave doesnt have a 5 seconds option so its hard to cook your food at your desired temperature. Also, its hard to keep it clean since so many girls uses it each day. I wish it was bigger so that more than one thing can be reheated since we eat a lot of leftovers or frozen meals.

To: The Manufacturers of Over-The-Range Microwaves. PLEASE, downsize. They keep getting bigger and bigger and bigger, to the point where I have to replace my beautiful expensive cabinets in order to accommodate the darn microwave. And from what Ive read on the internet, I am not the only one. It definitely looks like there is market for them that is NOT being fulfilled. Can one of the manufacturers please step up to the plate on this? Why is it that I can find a counter top microwave that is only 10-14 high, but when I look for an OTR its 16 and up.

I will never buy another LG product again. This microwave needed major repairs within 18 months of my purchase. The first repair happened when it was still under warranty but I had to pay for service and when the second repair was needed, the warranty had expired. I called LG to ask for a warranty extension with the argument that a relatively new appliance should not need major repairs twice. In fact, the microwave I had replaced with the LG was over 10 years old and had never needed a repair. I replaced it because it was old looking and I was remodeling my kitchen. LG would not extend the warranty and the repair with service would cost more than replacing it. I argued that they should replace my microwave but was denied. Again, I will never buy an LG appliance again.

Finally after the 7th visit, the wire in the microwave started on fire. After many phone calls, the matter has now gone to the resolutions department at LG repair, and I am still waiting for approval of a replacement microwave. This could have started my house on fire. LG microwave was part of the kitchen appliances in the home we bought last year. It appeared to be fairly new. Within 6 months the door frame cracked then the handle broke off. Its noisy when it runs and the configuration of the buttons and functions is confusing. Ive never figured out the soften button. Glad we didnt actually purchase it ourselves but will now have to replace it.

Put food in microwave, pressed the EZ ON BUTTON which will heat food for 30 seconds. The microwave started for about 1 second and then immediately just died. After about a minute it powered on was asking for the clock setting. It acted like it does when the power goes out. This microwave did this one time yesterday also. I entered and set the clock time and then input 1 minute time and, almost as soon as I pressed the start button, the microwave died again only this time it did not revive. It appears to be completely dead and is only about 16 months old (purchased October 2014). This is the first LG appliance I have ever owned and likely will be the last. I paid good money for this appliance and wish I hadnt thrown out the old one. It was rusted some inside but had been working for almost 20 years!! This stainless microwave model number(s) listed on instruction booklet: LCRT2010ST, LSRM2010ST. So very disappointed. Made in China. Maybe thats why.

5 years ago we bought 6 brand new LG appliances and since then we have had to replace 3 of them. Stove, Refrigerator and Microwave. Two others ones have been repaired twice each. The microwave control panel has had to be replace 3 times in which LG covered the part but we had to pay labour. The first time that was almost 200 dollars and the second time it was 150. The last time it broke we said screw it and took it to the country and used it as target practice. We did phone LG and said pay for the part and labour and they said NO as it was out of warranty. I said this is the 3rd time the same part has stopped working and was told too bad so sad. Dont buy LG appliances. Even if they came into my house and said here is brand new appliances and a million dollars I would tell them to get the F out of my house. Not worth the trouble.

Updated on 05/19/2019: April 29 was my first review. TOMORROW will DAY 35 without our LG refrigerator. No tech licensed at first with dealing with LG then they offered an in store credit but sent file to Assurance and they sent a tech. Had to wait on parts. LG would not RUSH them. Finally parts in. Had to make appt. Replacing compressor, main PC and therm. $1,100.00. I paid $1,500.00 for fridge. Thursday after approximately 4 hours with service repairman it is finally fixed. Today the fridge is WARM Inside. ITS BROKEN ALREADY. ALL I WANTED WAS A NEW FRIDGE. ITS DAY 35 TOMORROW!!!! PEOPLE should get to see all of the review replies I have done with LG. Not just the first one. I have 8 pages of notes of phone calls on this fridge. How many weeks is a acceptable to wait. I just wanted an in store credit....Updated on 05/02/2019: April 30 posted complaint with lack of service on my refrigerator. April 30 LG quickly responded asking for my telephone number. May 1 I responded. THEN nobody phones. This is now day 18 and no fridge. Please give me an in store credit and perhaps a FREE 4 year extended warranty to make things right. I offered a repairman’s name to you but no you didnt have a contract with him. Yet you did not have any licensed tech for a compressor.Original Review: We are now at day 14 without a fridge. LG doesnt care. Days went by before they said they didnt have e a licensed tech for compressor. More days went by before given an approval number for in store credit then, I was told Assurance Solution Insurance co would take file now. They then decide there is a repair man to diagnose it. Fridge stinks and still waiting to hear what is to be done. Totally UNACCEPTABLE. Should have been looked after within 2 to 3 days. Its a fridge not a microwave.

LG Counter Microwave 1260SW/1260SB - After three years of use, not daily, there was burning smell coming out of the side vent and a grinding sound inside. I contacted LG and they said it sounded like the magnetron. LG said it sounded like the magnetron, which was covered under a 10-year warranty and then referred a local repair shop. We took it in. They charged us $50 for a diagnostic test and $46.02 for labor for the magnetron. Two days later, we brought it home and the situation was worse than when we took it in. Back to the repair shop we went and the shop called saying it was the fan motor. Well, they wanted another $50 for labor and parts. After refusing to pay any more labor costs, they fixed it. The only parts were for a stirrer motor and stirrer support and another $26. We got it home, plugged it in, and turned it on. Inside lit up like a neon light and it started sparking. Light was so bright and sparks so bad, my husband and I thought it was going to blow up. Back to the shop it went. They put a container of water inside, no sparks or excessive lighting happened, so they deemed it fixed. I refuse to use it. We paid almost as much in repair bills as we did in purchasing it. As much as I loved the horseshoe design inside the microwave, this was just too much hassle, expensive and time consuming to repair. I had also contacted two other small appliance places to see if we were being ripped off. Both told me they refuse to work on LG small appliances. They either couldnt get the parts or it took a week or more to get them in, inconveniencing their customers. No more LG appliances for us.

On Jan. 18, 2019 we purchased the above referenced microwave. It never worked when we brought it home, and Best Buy stepped up and just let us trade the non-working one for one that did work. Now, less than 3 months later, the machine stopped working overnight--lights and turntable work, but no heat or cooking is generated. Working with LG customer service warranty department is a nightmare. The customer service staff is very difficult to understand, when you are transferred to another department, there are very long wait times to connect, and instead of having it repaired locally, LG wanted me to pack it up and mail it to them. I have had LG equipment in the past and been satisfied. However, after this fiasco I will never buy another from them. All this hassle on top of not having a working microwave. My hope is that they will just pay me the purchase cost and let me get on with my life with a different brand. The customer service department and website are not user friendly at all.

I guess that judging by the other microwave reviews, I shouldnt be surprised that my first-ever LG product wasnt any good. We purchased a new house in May, which included a new LG microwave that was purchased/installed in April when the kitchen was remodeled. Last week, the microwave just completely stopped working, and when I called LG, none of the troubleshooting solutions worked. Their response was that they needed a receipt to look at it and repair it. However, the previous owner did not have the receipt. I told them that I knew for a fact that it was purchased in April. Regardless of that, its manufactured date was May 2011, so shouldnt they be ashamed that their product only lasted 1.5 years from its manufactured date? Instead, I now have to contact the people we bought our house from and ask them to call the store they purchased the unit from and find the receipt - wasting everyones time. Products break, I get that. But its the fact that it broke within 1.5 years of its manufactured date and that customer service was awful. I will never buy an LG appliance again, and Ill pass the word along to my friends.

I bought an LG 2.0 Microwave from Home Deposit. After only 3 months it started making horrible noises each time the glass turntable rotated. I called LG customer service. I was told to submit my invoice by PDF and would receive a refund check. That info was received. Two weeks later a different LG customer service employee wanted me to sign a waiver before they could issue a check. They also wanted photos of the metal serial number even though they were verbally given to them the first time. BTW: They don’t repair microwaves, but supposedly and eventually cut you a check for another LG microwave upon proof of purchase. Of course they never explained that initially as their rules change with every contact. I told the CS rep. after the fourth call to me (forget about trying to contact them) that I use a microwave every day and can’t wait weeks or months for them to reimburse me.Besides, why would I want to buy the same LG microwave again. I got another brand of microwave the day after the defective one. This is exactly where they want you. You are skeptical of LG microwaves, you bought another brand, so basically you will never be reimbursed for their defective product. This type of deception should result in a class action lawsuit. I believe that stealing $130 is a felony. They didn’t assign any order number to this case, but I have all their correspondence and screenshots of their acceptance of my submitted receipt.

Shelves are easy to remove and clean. The stainless steel is modern look and easy to keep clean. Overall I love the product. It matches my microwave perfectly. Designed very well. I dislike the temperature. Sometimes it gets too cold and freezes my refrigerator items and also there is an annoying sensor that beeps to let you know the door is open. It is a good and bad thing because it makes sure you remember to close the door so that food wont spoil but also its a bad thing when you are loading groceries and need the door open for a long time. I chose LG because it is a brand I trust and I know is high quality and durable to last me and get my moneys worth. I have other LG products so the purchase was inevitable and yes it has met my initial expectations.

This microwave is designed in a genius way! It’s large, you can select the type of food and status (frozen..) instead of choosing strength or time. It’s heavy duty, I don’t think people would survive it. It gives you the feeling it’s a luxurious and reliable product.

I bought a Microwave....LG, counter top....in less than one year it died. Since it was JUST under warranty someone came and fixed it...it was some connection that didnt work. Then you get 90 day warranty on the repair.....Great!. Now its a drop more than 90 days and guess what? It died again. Called LG...they said TOUGH NOUGHIES....very nice, isnt it....so now what....I pay $50.00 service fee plus repairs or throw the microwave out in the street and buy a new one. Not good business. Not a good appliance. I will never buy an LG again unless I receive some satisfaction.

Few days after purchasing LMHM2017ST, we would hear a squeaky noise from the turntable when on. It seemed just slightly bothersome then and so live with it.A few months later, numbers on the touch keypad stopped working one by one. Now most of them dont work. Also many other buttons are not working. The fan and light buttons are also not working causing these features not be available anymore. Next, another issue cropped up - the microwave switches on, on its own, as soon as the door is opened. So there are now multiple problems in a short duration of gentle use. I called LG customer service but they offered to send someone to fix these issues for a charge of $185 + tax. They would give only 60 days warranty and only on the services performed. They will not guarantee on anything else. It seems they know that there can arise even more problems in future. I bought this microwave because it looked good but other than that it turned out to be a crappy and expensive unit (over $500). I will not buy anything LG in future.

Bought a microwave in Canada in November to bring south for the winter as we are Canadian snowbirds. Arrived in Yuma, Az and about 2 weeks after arrival the microwave quit working. There is a manufacturing date of July 2015 stamped right on the microwave but all my paperwork for purchase is in Canada. I phoned LG and without the paperwork they will do nothing. I tried desperately to get some paper work from Canada but was unable to get. I therefore have to go buy another microwave to get me through the winter. I can get the micro repaired when I get back to Canada in April and produce the paperwork but then Ill have 2 microwaves which doesnt make much sense. I asked the LG person that I phoned how they could not just repair it when the manufacture date is stamped right on it. NO EXCEPTIONS he said. This to me is absolutely ridiculous. I will never buy another LG product as long as I live.

We have a 4 year old side by side LG refrigerator. Ever since last year the right side of the ice cube department completely freezes up and it makes it impossible to distribute cubes down tray. We change our filters every 6 months. For days we have put microwave hot rags down the right side of the cube holder to soften the cube holder so that we are able to move the tray holder out. This is very frustrating because we host a lot of parties and have to buy ice. The refrigerator is 41 degrees and the freezer is -2. Please help.

I purchased an LG Easy Clean microwave in 2014. The unit wasn’t exactly cheap but I figured I’d invest in a better quality unit. Recently (2018) I noticed the smell of burning and sparking coming from the unit. I opened the door and noticed that the inside lower left corner was physically melted??? I have never experienced anything like this with any other microwave in my life. Obviously I felt this was a safety issue and an obviously defective microwave.I called LG and jumped through all their hoops, providing them photos etc. They were supposed to call me back (they didn’t). When I called back I was told that they only offer a 1 yr warranty and the fact that I got 4 yrs out of it was good. Umm, a melted door is good??? Long story short, LG told me I can try to find someone to repair it but it will be costly and recommended I buy a new one. Yup, after only 4 yrs. I asked if a “MELTED DOOR” was particularly concerning to LG? He said no, it’s 4 years old. Umm, well I guess it had a good run in LG’s eyes. I’ll never buy from LG or any affiliate again. WOW!??

Just removed our kitchen last year. We brought this microwave in Aug 2017. Only lasted 14 months. One day was heating a biscuit, it started popping smell like wires were burning. Now it doesnt heat. Was told $125.00 just to come out. If it took longer than 15 minute to repair it would be another $65.00 up to $175.00. We decided that buying another brand would be better for us. We will never again buy a LG product. Our other microwave is a GE Profile and is over 7 years old and never had any problems. I wish I would have done a better job checking out LG appliances.

This microwave caught fire while steaming vegetables. We heard a snapping sound followed by the entire inside space bursting into flames. I was able to extinguish with no damage except to the microwave. Since the unit was only 10 months old and still under warranty I called LG. Their response was immediate and a technician (tech) was at our home the next day. Upon arrival and inspection he made a few comments: (1) Why did we clean up the damages inside the unit? (2) What happened? (3) I need to call home office to talk to inside Tech.He made the call as we stood there and a Tech on the phone asked him to send a video from his phone with instructions from the Tech on the phone. Once completed he hung up and said this unit is fried and needs to be replaced but two Techs from home office had to review. Ten minutes later they called back saying it was customer error due to GREASE FIRE and they would not repair or replace. My only choice was to escalate the claim to LG management which I did. After sending them store receipt I asked for the denial and reason in writing which they absolutely refused to give me. The next day they emailed me to say they set up a Return Authorization Review and I should hear from them within 2-3 business days. It is now five business days with no response!I went to the store where I purchased the LG microwave, gave them my notes and asked for help. Once reviewed by store and they seen what LG was putting me through they said they would replace the unit. Would you buy another LG product after reading about this runaround? I would not but I certainly will purchase again from Best Buy as they stood behind a product that the manufacturer, LG in this case, would not.

UPDATED ON 1/20/2021: We contacted LG about the problem that we experienced but to no avail. Even though their instruction booklet told us how to cook bacon (which we followed) the microwave caught fire. Apparently there was a problem with the unit. After going back and forth with them about this problem they finally e-mailed us a letter stating they would reimburse us the amount of money we spent for the microwave. The only thing that was required was that we purchase a new LG microwave, which we did. We had to send them copies of the purchase receipts from both microwaves and the labels off the old one, which we did in order to get the refund. We were then instructed to dispose of the old microwave. Unfortunately they did not hold up to their promise. After many calls on our part with promises of them getting back to us, with what appears no intentions of doing so. Now they are telling us that we were the cause of the problem, and will not refund our money even though they sent us the letter telling us otherwise.ORIGINAL REVIEW: Purchased a LG microwave about 5 months ago. While cooking food according to their instructions in their manual the microwave started on fire. Either the manuals instructions were wrong or the microwave malfunctioned. LG was called and a service person was sent out. We were informed by their service department that the service person they sent out would determine whether the microwave would be repaired or replaced. According to the service person we had been misinformed in that he does not make that decision, and that is left for someone else. We were told that he would turn in his report and we would be contacted. An engineer contacted us and said that the microwave did not malfunction and because there was a fire in it LG is not responsible. Why is it that we followed all the directions but yet they dont want to acknowledge that there is something wrong with the microwave? No pictures are available as damage was on the inside top of microwave.

Updated on 04/16/2020: As follow up, after I posted a complaint about my microwave, LG posted a reply on ConsumerAffairs which implied that they would look into our complaint. Wrong! We received a call today 4-16-2020 from the next level supervisor who said you received bad information from our customer service rep but we still cannot honor our warranty. This was the second LG microwave we had purchased, and the second to fail. This last one after about 4 months. One of the last LG reps we spoke to said there was no problem with our reimbursement paperwork and the warranty reimbursement check would be sent right out. Wrong again! This last supervisor told us that his company gave us bad information on how to file a claim and too bad for us that they made the mistake and now we are out the cost for another LG microwave. Just beware, if you do have issues with your appliance that is under warranty, LG may not honor their warranty even after admitting they were at fault.Original Review: We purchased a LG microwave to replace the LG microwave that stopped working after 2 years. After 4 months the new LG stopped working. It was under LG warranty so we called and submitted the warranty reimbursement form. After not hearing back for over a week, we called and they advised us that they needed the serial number from the unit cut in half. We submitted both the form and the serial number. After not hearing back again we called and they told us to submit the cut serial number tag on the actual submission form, so we did that and send it back in. After not hearing for two to three weeks we called again and we were told we also needed the manufacturer tag cut in half and submitted on the form. At that point being over two months of dealing with LG, we had already disposed of the unit. We told the rep and he advised no problem they would be sending the reimbursement check to us.After another week and a half we called in again and we were told without the cut manufacturer tag on the form we would not be reimbursed. We explained that the last rep said there was no issue with this and explained the entire situation again. We called again to be disconnected and called again to be told there would be no reimbursement without the manufacturer tag. After much discussion we asked the rep to send our request to a supervisor. She said it would be another week before a supervisor could look at our request.Bottom line buy a better brand microwave unless you want to continue to replace them and have LG give you misinformation to file a claim under warranty. Had I known their service was this poor I would have never bought any LG appliances. Had we known we needed more information off the unit we would have gladly supplied that at the time but the representatives gave us bad information. There are too many good quality products on the market to settle for horrible service and low quality from LG.

A little more than two years old, this LG microwave (LMV1680ST) stopped working. The turntable does not rotate and magnetron does not heat. Everything else operates just fine. Door latch and switch appear to be solid and functioning properly, so it must be the electronics. I guess I will have to take it apart to look at switch, relay and circuit board.

I bought LG model# LMV1683ST in 2012 from Best Buy. I pay around $250-$300 for my microwave. It was very loud and on 2016 it just stop working without a warning. This is a very bad product. I never overload it and it was only used by 2 people. I never overheat it, Max time heating was 10 min. Very short life product. This is a product to only buy for looks and nothing more.

We bought this microwave a week ago and will be taking it back to Menards tomorrow (and will be writing a review about them if they dont give us our $ back!). It worked fine until tonight. The only complaint we had was that it didnt have a timer on it but we could deal with that. Now, however, it is junk. We had the light on below the microwave and when I turned it off, I turned the vent on to see how many settings it had. I turned it back off and noticed the light inside the microwave was now on and the turntable was going. It wouldnt stop. It was finally discovered that if we pushed stop, then energy saver, it would stop and the light would go off but nothing would make it work. Anytime we tried to put a time in the display, it would just read door and do nothing except spin and have the light on. Its off the wall and back in the box. Menards, here we come!!

In November 2011, we purchased an LG Microwave (Model LMV1813SB). It lost power a month later and had to be serviced by LG. It went out again a week later. An LG service person came out and worked on it again, but due to the LG policy, would not replace it until after four service calls. We had the issue again in March and April and finally they are replacing it. My complaint is the extremely poor policy and customer service that LG has. They would rather have the customer go through the time and effort of not having a microwave, making numerous phone calls to LG and scheduling time to have the microwave fixed. This is such horrible customer service. The time and effort we have had to go through to replace the microwave is more than what the microwave is worth. Here is the icing on the cake. LG has shipped our new microwave but told us that the one year warranty does not include removal and installation. I had to argue to get them to reimburse me for this. I will never buy another LG product based on this horrible customer service experience!

Model: LMV1680DW. Dont buy LG - just dont do it.... You WILL regret it. I know, every company has failures, and you can find a person who hates any company. But, LG is horrid. This is the second microwave from them that failed with the same problem - in the original warranty period! After months of fighting with them, they finally replaced the original unit, and now the new one is dead! Called them up and they start giving excuses for not replacing the second one. I will buy a new microwave - I just dont have the energy to fight them anymore and even if I win, cant go another 3 months without a microwave...It doesnt matter how cheap LG are, there is a reason they are cheap... I purchased an LG french door refrigerator Model lfx28968st in January 2014
I purchased an LG french door refrigerator Model lfx28968st in January 2014. I paid close to $3,000 for it, so I was surprised when it stopped cooling less than a year later. I immediately called LG who referred me to a local company that does their warranty work. It turned that the company had been out of business for years and that no one in our area actually does their warranty work. When I called LG again they seemed surprised and told me that I would have to find a local company that would work with them to get my refrigerator repaired. After calling around town, I discovered that Sears was the only company who would attempt to repair my basically new refrigerator. I made the first appointment I could get (several weeks later) to have my refrigerator diagnosed because Sears would have to get parts ordered and approved through LG before any repair could be made so they could get reimbursed for their labor. In the meantime, we decided to rent a refrigerator to keep our food from spoiling as this was obviously going to be a long process. The repairman told me that it could be several things, one of which was the main computer panel. After finally getting the part in and installed, he told me to give it a few days to see if that did the trick. Several days later it was still not cooling. I had to go through the waiting process again. By the time Sears got it fixed for me, I had been without my nice refrigerator for many months and I had been paying rental on the other refrigerator. About a year and a half later, right after Thanksgiving 2016, my refrigerator once again stopped cooling. Also, my LG microwave purchased at the same time quit working. It turns out that neither one would never work again. This time we just purchased another used smaller refrigerator and called LG. They gave me the same information about the repair company that was out of business. I called Sears once again. Every time a repairman came out to my house they would tell me stories about how LG refrigerators are not any good and that they are constantly being called about repairs for them. I had not bought the extended warranty on my refrigerator, so this time I was told that I would have to pay for the labor, but LG would cover the cost of the parts until the original warranty ran out. I was told that LG would try to repair it, but that if it were deemed unrepairable that they would replace it. For almost the entire next year Sears would come out, diagnose my refrigerator, call LG who would suggest what was wrong and order parts. I would wait for the parts to come in and set another appointment for repair. During that period, Sears came out about five times to diagnose and five times to repair. They replaced the Evaporator A, Dryer, Dryer Assembly, Dryer UV (Restricted), Heater Exchange, Pipe Assembly... Finally, in November of 2017, Sears decided my refrigerator was unrepairable and gave up. They gave me back all of the labor that I had paid, minus the trip charge to come to my house. It turns out that because it had taken so long to try to repair my refrigerator that LG was not going to honor any kind of warranty. For the last year I have the nicest looking boat anchor in the middle of my kitchen floor that I dont know what to do with. Complaining to LG doesnt help. They just pass me around until I give up. Complaining to Sears doesnt help either. They just put me through to the warranty department, which does me no good anymore. I believe that LG should be banned from our country. I will never buy another of their products again.
